Co2 Detector - carbon monoxide detectors, alarms

This is a very convenient unit to install and figure out. I like the digital display because you can see the CO levels and can get a sense of any issues by simply glancing at the unit when walking by. I liked that it came with brand name batteries too, when I was looking at my local hardware store some of the units had generic batteries. The reason I bought a Kidde is the built in functionality. I had a smoke alarm of theirs that was acting funny, beeping every 30 seconds, so I pulled it down and right on the back it listed what each beep sequence meant (no having to hunt for a manual, or search online). This unit acts in the same manner, it's even supposed to alert me in 7 years when it is time to replace the unit, how cool is that? Kidde KN-COPP-B-LPM Battery-Operated Carbon Monoxide Alarm with Digital Display

I bought this because of the requirement by law to have one. It was very easy to install and has a large Display panel as well. If you don't have one of these in your house, and need it by law, this is an easy choice!!

I bought this alarm because the description said you could use it on a table top. I wanted to put Carbon Monoxide alarm in the basement near the water heater and furnace but didn't want to go to the trouble of mounting it on a cement wall. This worked great! I just set it on the shelf in the laundry room. Bonus, I can still read the digital display because the screen is big. I have the previous version of this which was round and i think the part number was KN-COPP-B. I kept the box so I could order another one but was happy to find out that they updated it and made it free standing.

I highly recommend this product, and Amazon shipped it in a day. I bought it and the next day I had it in my house working.

I did a lot of reading on all the different type of CO1 detectors offered here on Amazon. I chose this model not only for my own home, but also for the customers I install CO1 units into their homes (I'm a contractor). This is not the cheapest model available and the same company makes one without the digital readout which is less expensive, but I believe it's worth the extra money to have the readout. That way, I feel that if there is a problem, it may be caught sooner than later if the amount of emissions are listed. This unit is guaranteed to last seven years as opposed to the other model without the readout at five years. It's one place I would not want to cut corners. I also prefer the types that are mounted at eye level and not into an outlet.

Kidde has a great line of products. I like this new co alarm because of the large window display. I can walk by and take a quick glance at it. It is battery powered so I don't need to worry about the alarm not working during a power outage. When you test the alarm it is loud, even over the loud music that I sometimes play. Another feature is, you can date the item, so you know when to replace it. This alarm has a 5 year warranty. Every home should have a CO detector. Put it inside your house near the garage door, gas dryer or furnace. Takes minutes to install.

Our local authorities dictated that homeowners had just one week to comply with CO Alarms being installed. In a panic we picked out the Kidde KN-COPP-B-LPM from the Amazon information. It was easy to install in the recommended place near our bedrooms and satisfies the requirement. Operation is easy.

I recently bought 2 of these units for my home. The units are very compact in size and installs flush onto the wall. The LCD display is large enough where I don't have to squint my eyes to see the reading. It's also nice that they include the 3 AA batteries required for operation. Now for the misleading part. Amazon's product description clearly states that the unit is backlit. It is not. I confirmed this by calling Kidde help support which informed me that this specific model was intended for energy-saving and therefore omitted the feature. If the backlit feature is something you can live without, this is a highly serviceable unit to have protecting you household.

This KIDDE KN-COPP-B-LPM BATTERY-OPERATED CARBON MONOXIDE ALARM WITH DIGITAL DISPLAY is an easy way to meet the CO monitoring law. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS carefully. It mounts easily on your wall, and takes you only minutes to install. This DOES NOT have a back-lit display, but can be quickly read in ambient light. The unit will last for seven years. You then MUST replace it with a new unit. I feel that the high-pitched warning sound made by this unit can be heard, even through closed bedroom doors. LED colored status lights are easy to see.

Easy to install. So far no false alarms. Must push a button to get avg. reading, but so what? "If" it alarms when CO levels are high enough, that's all that's important. Four stars only because I haven't had an alarm situation (thankfully) to know whether or not it alarms. All else is as advertised. - Co2 - Carbon Monoxide - Carbon Monoxide Detectors - Alarms'

Bomber Hats - hats, bomber

In a review of another color of this hat, someone noted that they felt the hat to be a little too snug. I can see that and if you have a large head, you may want to pass on it. I find it snug and perhaps at the edge of being too snug, but I don't mind. Apart from that caveat, I like this hat and am happy with it. It's warm and well worth the money. Brown Weatherproof Nylon Aviator Pilot Trooper Trapper Hat for Men and Women with Complete Inner Faux Fur Lining.

This arrived the day before i was to give it as a gift so there was no time to exchange the hat that had come without the seams fully sewn. 10 minutes with a needle and thread fixed the problems but they should not have been there in the first place.

Our teenage son requested this specific hat for Christmas. Although it doesn't strike me as the most attractive hat, all the teens wear them! He loves it and is wearing it constantly. In fact, after shoveling snow for awhile, he had to take the hat off because his head was TOO warm! :) Good quality and worth the price. Fashion is indeed in the eye of the hat wearer! :)

Product was exact to the description and a great price for keeping my husband warm in the Chicago winter blizzard. Everytime he wears it, he's can't tell me enough how warm it keeps his head. Fits him comfortably. 5'8" 150lbs avg sized guy. - Hats - Bomber Hats - Bomber - Caps'

Woodworking - furniture, carpentry

I brought the first book of the Home improvement library series about a year ago. The book is very informative and the photo illustration is excellent. Therefore when I need some wood working DIY this book is my first choice. This book is a step to step guide to build projects, each project list with material list and require tools. Not many word on the wood basic and technique. If you want to have some weekend work, this is the book. Here is the list of projects and you can check it out. Easy-Umbrella stand, Mirrored coat rack, Mitten chest, Entry Valet, Mission windows seat. Living room - bookshelf, two-tier bookshelf, liquor locker, humidor cabinet, tile-top coffee table, plant stand. Family room - bookcase, library table, card table, game table, table/chair, sideboard. Home office - drafting stool, writing desk, secretary topper, nesting office, wastebasket. Bedroom - room divider, cedar chest, nightstand, armoire, mission lamp base. Kitchen - pine pantry, wine & stemware cart, utility cart, recycling center, gateleg table. Black & Decker Easy Wood Furniture Projects: 32 Step-by-Step Projects for the Home

That was the main allure for me. I went shopping and bought some nice hand tools to get started in woodworking. I figured that if I wound up not liking it, I would still have useful hand (power) tools for around-the-house type stuff. Well, I got hooked. You'll make some mistakes, and quickly see the value of a table saw, but you will see what you're capable of and hunger for more. Most of the projects are glued and screwed together, with plugs to conceal the screw holes, so "serious" woodworkers don't consider this a serious book. But it is nice because you get gratification fairly quickly. Even though these projects are built of high grade plywood and S4S lumber, they're still sturdier and higher quality than the cheap particle board crap that is sold at Wal*Mart. Give it a try. You'll like it. It will reel you into our world. ;)

I bought this book for my boyfriend and it is well worth the money. There are many many projects - very practical ones like a night stand, table, bench, etc. But there are also projects like a wine cart and an island. ...

Really just what I was looking for. A couple of easy to make projects that do not require extensive wood working knowledge. Now where is the book to motivate me into making these projects? :)

Happy customer

I bought this book a while ago and have made several of the items in it including a couple of the cedar chests and the table. Overall this is a great book for beginners. The projects only require a circular saw a sander a jig saw and basic tools. This is a good introduction into woodworking. The stuff isn't fancy but it is homemade and that is a satisfying feeling to know that you made your own furniture.

It is a well written book with good instructions but I really did not see any of the project that I would want to build. I think a bit more imagination as well as some ways to dress up the projects would have made the book a bit more useful. - Furniture - Carpentry - Projects'

Ebook Reader - ebook reader, ebook

I was worried about getting this but the case is nice, sturdy and well made and what a great price. I did bling it a bit but that's beause it is sturdy enough to do so.

Had bought a jelly for the kindle but now don't need it. Latest 3rd Generation Kindle 3 E-Book Reader Black PU Leather Case / Cover - by Abacus24-7

While I agree with the rest of the commenters that this little case is both economical and looks pretty good, and does its basic job of holding the kindle, I have to comment on something I haven't seen brought up so far - the overpowering chemical scent!

I know real leather has a scent, but this is not *real* leather, and whatever chemical was used on/in it has forced me to leave my kindle out in the open unprotected, while I put the case out to air (that didnt work), and finally I dunked it in some hot soapy woollite water - it was that bad. Im hoping the bath helped, but I took the risk of ruining it because I dont know where this piece was made, or if the chemical scent I was smelling could eventually cause me or my family harm. I'll see whether or not it is usable in the morning. Im a little disappointed because it really does look good.

*****

UPDATE

I did some research and found that this chemical scent is mentioned when reffering to PU 'leather', it is not really leather and it is prohibited to call it so in some countries overseas. It is said that the scent will fade over time. One thing that I wouldve really appreciated with this item is more information on where it was made and with what materials. NO information came with the case, and if it was made in a country that does not care to use material that isnt dangerous - how would I know that? What kind of quality control does Amazon do for the items featured on its site?

I was surprised to see a leather case for under $6 after shipping, and by the picture, it appears that the case holds the Kindle 3 better than cases with four elastic or leather bands in the corners. When the case arrived, I slipped my Kindle in the top and then frowned--what was to keep it from slipping out the top? I turned the case upside down, and the kindle slipped right out. But I fixed this problem by taping a piece of Velcro to the top of the kindle and the inside top of the case. Now the Kindle is secure, but I think a little bit of foresight on behalf of the designers of this case could have avoided this problem--maybe a leather strap. The case closes shut with a magnetic clasp--I'm not sure if I like this as it can open easily, but then again, if it is packed away, it would probably be fine, and then the convenience of opening it and closing it easily is a bonus. So, for $6 and a small piece of velcro, I'm very pleased to have ordered this case and would recommend it to whoever is reading this review--just get yourself some Velcro ahead of time.

The cases that Amazon offered seemed very expensive to me, so I tried to get some alternatives...

When I got to this product I found it quite nice, but I was a bit unsure about its quality. Then, I received it, and I was really satisfied. The Kindle fits perfectly, seems not to move, and the quality looks fine at least for now.

The Kindle definitely needs a case (otherwise, it's very uncomfortable to carry, and it seems really vulnerable), and this is a great option for a great price!

When I ordered this case, I wasn't expecting much. It was far less expensive than the other leather cases available. The reality is that this case fits my Kindle 3 perfectly. I don't need to remove the Kindle from the case to do anything.

It takes a split-second to open and start reading, which was critical for me since much of my reading is in short periods on public transportation.

The leather feels good in my hands, which I didn't expect at this price point. The stitching doesn't look like it was hand-done at great expense, but given the price point, I can't imagine that there is a better case available.

For the price this is a great cover. The kindle fits well, haven't had it slip out at all. The only drawback may be that the back speakers are a little muffled by the case, but I don't really use them, and I figure any cover will do the same. The kindle on it's own was just too hard to hold and lug around the house, I kept changing pages on accident. I use my kindle all the time for boooks, RSS feeds with Calibre and instapaper. Can't fit it in my back pocket any more with the case but that probably wasn't the smartest thing to do in the first place. Again, for the money this thing fits the bill perfectly.

Firstly, I made my son happy with the purchase of the Kindle just for him. He loves to read. I was amazed at how well he was taking care of his new "toy" but I wanted to make sure that he also had an adequate cover. This case is tight fit. However, you're not intending to remove the Kindle from the case and place it back in multiple times. Everything remains accessible and it still keeps the device looking stylish. Excellent value for the money.

This is a great looking case... and for the price I could not ask for more. I agree with the comment that it may need a strap or something on top to prevent the Kindle from slipping out of the case, but the way I use it, this does not pose a problem to me. In terms of smell, it does have a mild artificial new car scent, but nothing that my extremely sensitive nose would object to. It is way better than I expected, even compared to other highly priced cases... and for this price I could not ask for more.

I was very put of by the cost of Kindle covers so I was delighted to see one that was affordable. It looks nice, is easy to insert and remove the Kindle and meets my needs. It's pretty easy to read while the Kindle is in the case.

As others have noted, the Kindle can fall out if you turn it upside down, but that's not much of a drawback in my opinion. Definitely worth the price and although it was not a Prime eligible product it shipped fast. - Ebook - E-reader - Kindle - Ebook Reader'

Usb Female To Female - interconnects, road warriors

I purchased this kit because I'm tired of having to buy a separate cable for every gadget i buy. I needed this one to connect my new printer to my laptop, although the plastic part of the male head of this kit was way too wide for my printer so i had to cut the sides with a knife.. There is supposed to be some standard to it but well.. Other than that it's a great compact kit and comes with a pouch (i have just seen even more compact ones out there that have retractable cables.. just so that you know) GE 6-In-1 USB Cable Kit

Although the kit had 6 pieces like it claimed, none of the pieces were what I needed. I bought this product because I lost my USB cable for my GE E850 digital camera and couldn't transfer pictures to my computer. The kit did not include a piece that fit into my camera.

Four stars instead of five because of the product description on amazon (2011-04-23). These plugs will not satisfy "all your USB needs". Certain manufacturers use non-standard connectors for some of their products (e.g., some Panasonic cameras). The bottom line: ensure you understand exactly which type of USB plug you will need...

"B Male" adapter grip/handle is not "industry standard". Wrong shape. Wrong size. Prevents adequate insertion to many devices. (IE popular HP All-In-One 8500.) Flaw left me printerless until I could get a file and reduce handle size. Have several USB "B Male" cables at home location due to adapter's popularity. All have the standard smaller grip. All work.

Dewalt Nailer - nail gun, finish nailer

... I am a general Contractor and I build mostly new construction houses and specialize in finish trim. I've used various different trim guns, some like the Porta-Cable, Duo Fast, and Senco, in my opinon are to bulky and heavy or are just not layed out well especially for a left hander. Recently I had a bostich 15 gauge angle gun that was oiless and seemed designed very well but it lasted less then 3 months, I had it replaced and the next one the drive pin broke in less then 8 months. By this time Dewalt had their gun out and I was tired of replacing the Bostich. I liked the look and feel of the Dewalt gun so I decided to give it a try, so far I have not been disappointed!! The weight of the Dewalt is just right and probably one of the lightest in its class. One writer says they tested the weight of the Bostich and the Dewalt and the Dewalt was "so much heavier". Even if their scale was right believe me you won't feel it. A few writers have complained about the fireing of this Dewalt. To this I say, if you can't handle the bump and fire trigger change it with the other trigger provided by Dewalt, but for the professionals, like myself, who have to use this gun all day it is one of the best features of the gun and one I look for. When needing to nail a lot of base or crown the time and effort this feature saves is great. The depth setting is very easy and accessible and the unjaming is easy. Maybe the simpless and yet best thought out feature of this gun is the belt hook. Try climbing a 24' extension latter with crown in one hand and a nail gun in the other just a few times and you will know what I am talking about. Loading the gun for the first time can be intimidating to some people especially if you haven't read the manual, maybe that is why some have complained about it. Really though, it give you more versatility then most guns. You can load it first and then pull the spring back, or pull the nail spring back, lock it, and then load the nails. The only reason I didn't give this gun a 5th * is that I have not had enough time with it to truly prove its durability. I have found one thing that troubles me and maybe it is just this particular gun, or the genaric nails I tried using, or even my fault for letting a little rust get on it, but from time to time it will not fire a nail. It seems that the spring may not be pushing the nails to the head enough, however I did not notice this in the begining so it may be a problem caused by something and not the guns fault at all. So far, over all, I have found this gun to be the best I have used, other then this problem. The line of sight is great, the safty boot cover is one of the best and does not seem to come off or get in the way as so may do. The popular Senco nails seem to work a little nicer then the Bostich nails of my old guns as well, but maybe thats all in my head! To sum it all up, this trim gun is another great offering by Dewalt, and I think if those who have had doubts take alittle more time to get to know their gun they would find it works!!! and works well!!! DEWALT D51275K 1-1/4-Inch to 2-1/2-Inch 15-Gauge Angled Finish Nailer Kit

I own both this gun and DeWALT's 18 ga. nailer. I have owned and used this gun for 2 years and have nothing but praise. It's funny, Home Depot used to carry these but gave up because so many people refused to change from other brands. Too bad for them!!! This gun is light but strong. A previous review had indicated that nails are difficult to find. What? This gun accepts all 15 gauge finish nails. Believe me I have used them all. I have run countless nails through this gun and have never had any issues with it.

Some features that I like:

1.The magazine is very easy to load.

2. Indexed depth setting is easy to use and requires no tools.

3. I can adjust the exhaust airflow to any direction. This is nice so it doesn't blow a piece of sawdust into my eyes.

4. If you jam a nail you can open up the firing head without the use of tools to free the squished nail.

I have used this gun on 6 inch crown molding, baseboard, installing doors and cabinetry. I have no complaints. I have no suggestions to make it better. It's perfect as far as I am concerned.

Update: add another year of use to this nailer. Still works flawlessly.

I have been a General Contractor, Trim Carpenter & Cabinet Builder throughout my 16 years in the industry and have used a lot of different nail guns. Out of all of the 15ga nailers I've owned (senco, bostich, porter), this is truly the best of the best. Just the feel of the gun is very impressive to say the least, whatever the weight. This nailer is VERY easy to use, even at 120 psi the depth stop does it's job, more than I can say for my porter, which I GAVE away after using this for a while. I've been through about 6 boxes(18000) of Senco nails and yet to have a double-tap with the bump-action trigger and it hasn't jammed even once, not quite the record with the senco or bostich. This gun sinks the nail-heads consistently and has NO kick when driving through knots. And the fact that the no-mar foot doesn't leave it's "initials" in Redwood was outstanding! I would recommend this DeWalt 15ga Nail Gun to anyone who has the need or desire for one.

The reviewer from Virginia which gave this tool a poor rating (*)does not understand how the trigger safety or the loading mechanism works. May be he should read the manual. I have owned many different brands of nailers of various types and as a finish carpenter I feel this is the best It has the clearest view of the nail target, that is a safey feature, is the best out there because it is open in front even with the rubber cover on the tip. Professionals rarely complain about a bump trigger(you still have to hold the trigger and depress the tool to fire?) and besides they give you a sequential trip too! Oliless would be nice but it may have a longer life as a lubricated tool. Also it uses the most common senco type nail. You cannot go wrong with this item. - Finish Nailer - Dewalt Nailer - Finish Nailers - Nail Gun'

Hd Camcorder - avchd, hdmi cables

The Mediabridge 5' Mini-HDMI to HDMI cable is a well made and solid cable. This cable worked flawlessly to connect my HD Video Camera to my HD TV at 1080i (highest supported by my camera). The price was reasonable for a cable of this quality.

Recommended for the price and functionality of this cable.

****Updated September 9, 2009****

Would update rating to 5 stars - Mediabridge contacted me about my cable that was sent without filters and replaced it at no cost. That is seriously good customer service! Mediabridge - High Speed Mini-HDMI to HDMI Cable - Category 2 Certified - 5ft

This is a very sturdy and well made cable. Hooked up my Flip Ultra HD camcorder to a HD LCD TV and the picture was perfect. As another has mentioned the cable is stout but the five foot length makes it easy to use so its not an issue to me. This seems like a quality item and should last a long time with normal use.

Have not been able to use this yet. The end on the micro HDMI side is nice a beefy, but that is a problem when getting this to work with the Optoma PK301 pico projector. The HDMI end is too fat to plug in while the projector power cord is plugged in. I will need to find another cable.

I went to my local electronics mega-store to buy a mini-HDMI to HDMI cable. They had one. It was $69.99. For less than another couple hundred bucks, I could buy another camera. We're just talking about a stinkin' cable here. Needless to say, I didn't make a purchase there. I came to Amazon and found this cable. For less than $10 I was soon watching HD video and looking at fantastic pictures on my HD LCD.

The length is just about right for being able to hold the camera and not have to stand right next to the TV. It is pretty rigid, so don't expect to roll it tightly and stuff it in a bag. It will easily roll into a 3-4 inch roll. Roll, roll, roll. There, I said it three more times.

Great cable, great price.

I saw a few reviews that made me think twice about ordering a non-Canon brand mini-HDMI cable. I have the EOS T1i and it works great! There is an incredible difference over the RCA cable that came with the camera. For $10 you will be pleased with the quality of viewing your pictures on a HDTV.

I had recently bought a Canon 5D Mark II and in its manual Canon mention HTC-100 cable to be used to watch the HD output from Camera on a HDTV. I bought two Canon HTC-100 cables and tried on my new Samsung LN46A650 and both of them did not worked. The quality of the Canon HTC-100 was really bad.

Then I got this wonderful cable. First try; and the amazing HD images from the camera were on my HDTV. Thanks to Mediabridge.

Bought this for my Canon and it works flawlessly. Construction quality is excellent. However, like the other reviewers have pointed out - no in-line filters, which is no big deal.

The cable I got has 26AWG printed on it and I didn't think they were too thick.

Price is good - specially when you consider how much Monster people like to charge. No need to go crazy on cables - this is the right cable at the right price.

Just a heads up that this product is not for the Droid X's HDMI out.

I ordered this mistakenly, as I thought the Droid X had a mini-HDMI out. However, I have since learned that the Droid X has a micro-HDMI out.

As for this product, although I did not ever use it (I actually returned it and took the hit for return shipping), the cable seemed well built and would have been great if I had something that required a mini-HDMI.

In hindsight, I probably should have just hung onto this cable and used it down the line here when I get an HD camcorder.

Awhile back I purchased an Mediabridge HDMI cable and was impressed by the quality and performance of it. This product does not disappoint. Excellent construction and performance as before. Mediabridge has become my standard cable product line. - Hd Camcorder - Hdmi Cables - Hdmi - Avchd'
