Texas Instruments - mathematics, ti-84

This is a great calculator. The keys are the same as the TI 83 but the calculator has more to offer than the TI 83. This one does so much more. You can put real games on this one, you can store formulas on it and you can make your own study cards, you write a question then enter the answer and the calculator will help you study and it does much much more. I got it at my local store cheaper than they sell it here on Amazon. So you might want to check around before putting out this much. Purchased for my student for her use at home in her Algebra II class. It arrived early and it's been a life saver for her to have access to her own calculator at home. It is the one recommended by the instructor to have at home for students to use, worth the purchase. Plus she loves that she has a pink one:)

Used calculator was rated as like new by seller and this rating was completely accurate. The only difference between this calculator and a new one was the lack of packaging. The manual and all parts were included and the condition of the calculator was superb. Shipping was fast - only about a week. I would definitely use this seller again. Price was about 30 dollars less than a brand new one.

I ordered this calculator because it was highly recommended by several sites.

I received it within a few days of ordering and it was perfectly packaged.

I originally ordered it for Math class but this calculator says its great for Chemistry and Biology as well

I like that it came with different wires so you can download different apps and it came with an insanely big and long instruction manual since there are so many features.

The greatest thing i would have to say about it since I am a chick though is that its PINK!!! really love everything about that and it looks exactly like it does in the pictures on Amazon.

Even though the pink one is a tad more expensive I got it because 1) its so cute and 2)According to other reviews it is the #1 most stolen calculator in schools because they are so valuable and I wanted mine to look different from all the rest

Panasonic Cordless Dect Phone - cordless phone, caller id

I have had several of Panasonic's phones over the last eight or more years. The last one we had was color screen and bells and whistles that although pretty to look at took away some of the functionality of the phone. Specifically, when you use a color screen it eats up memory and can cause issues with holding a charge.

The title of this says it all. The new phone I have had ab out a month perhaps 6 weeks is truly better, more functional, holds more names, and the screen although not color is much easier to see and use because the lettering is larger and the blue lettering on a whitish blue surface is a winner.

One other very important point; I bought the plus version of this phone. There are two versions. The other is less expensive and does not have the range nor clarity of this unit. It is well worth the extra $10.00 or so dollars.

The contrast and the appearance in general is very pleasing. The bells and whistles are still there and more but they are much easier to get at as they useful. 50 names and numbers. Sound functions and musical rings are better. The sound quality is fantastic and the ability to set the volume while is use is great. There is nothing worse than a ring that is not wanted and no way to change it. You can do both and easily to boot.

I had to come back because I missed one of the most if not the most important additions to this and all Panasonic phones of recent make. The dial and phone are lighted so it is easy and functional in the dark. I add this because all previous models did not have the lighted keypad, phone. This is an incredibly useful feature.

One last point, It is expandable up to six phones

I gave it 5 out of 5 stars because of the price but also because of how much better and functional it is compared to any other phone I have used and believe me we have used a lot of different phones so to say of all the phones we have had this is the best it is not said lightly.

I would grab this without hesitation as long as what you want is a phone that does what you want when you want it and you do not care to have pretty pictures in place of the excellent sound, appearance and all around usefulness of this Panasonic phone. I have had this phone for about 1 week. The 1st thing I did was charge both handsets for about 8hrs(do not unplug your old phone until these are fully charged). This phone is extremely easy to setup and program, it took me longer to write down all the numbers from my old phone. I did not even have to use the manual to program. Once that was done I flipped thru the manual and it has a ton of quick codes if you do not feel like going thru the menu on the handset. I love the call block feature, even though I am on the no call list I still get annoying telemarketing calls. The lighted keypad and being able to access VM via handset is fantastic. The talking caller ID is ok, I have to laugh b/c the automated voice sounds funny when someone calls and they have a hard to pronounce name but you have the option to turn it off if you want. It has some interesting ring tones. The sound is very clear but I have noticed if the volume is up to high I get a bit of echo/feedback from my TV and voices of other people in the room with me(hence the 4 stars). I usually keep the volume low anyway but my son had used it earlier and had it cranked all the way up. If you are hard of hearing and have to put the volume all the way up you may not even notice it. It states battery performance is 13hrs continuous talk time or 11dys standby, I can't comment on this b/c I put it back on the base every night before I go to bed. It also has a icon on screen to see the battery level which I absolutely love, my old phone would just start to beep and you had about 5 beeps to run and get the other handset before it died. I also like that it uses rechargeable AAA batteries. Overall this is a really nice phone and I feel the size of the handset is just right not to big, not to small.

I have had no problems with these phones. I left the handset off the base to see how long it would hold a charge and it is about 7 days with daily use. It was down to 1 bar on the battery icon and it had not began to blink so I am guessing I could have gone another 2 days before needing to charge. I have really grown to love this phone and its many features but I especially love being able to block unwanted calls. Also some more info on the talking caller ID, if you have the # programmed in the phone it will say the name you have programmed in w/it, for example when my daughter calls and it says her 1st name even though the caller ID comes up under mine and her dad's name.

I have had this phone for a month and I really want to write a review because the detail description doesn't tell us any thing much but it actually has a lot of features that other companies do not make. I owned many cordless phones so far but this is far better than others.

1. The phone uses the AAA rechargeable batteries NiMH. It can be replaced with any AAA NiMH batteries. I replaced mine with the higher capacity of NiMH batteries so it lasts even longer. The phone claims for 13 hours talk time. I never clock when I talk but it lasts very long time. And unlike other brands that we have to use only the manufacturer's batteries made for that phone.

2. Headphone Jack.....Bingo!! Finally I found a cordless phone with a headphone jack. Again no other brands make it and I don't know why but here I got it. It works absolutely perfect with a Panasonic headset. Sound is very clear.

3. Battery indicator.....My Vtech phones show a level of battery only while it's being charged but this Panasonic, the indicator shows the battery level all the time.

4. It speaks the phone number out loud when there is an incoming call.

Bottom line because of the first two reasons above, this will be my last cordless phone I ever bought since the batteries can be replaced with the regular rechargeable AAA NiMH. Highly recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just bought one more for other in the family. After 4 months of usage it has proved that this is the greatest cordless phone as I expected. Never disappointed me. Using regular rechargeable AAA means Saving Money!!

Alternative - rotary tool, dremel

I personally own Proxxon 38481 IB/E Professional Rotary Tool. [That model is slightly more expensive--a bit more professional-looking--and it comes with collets instead of a keyless chuck.]

This model, the one I am reviewing, Proxxon 38472 FBS 115/E Precision Rotary Tool, was bought as a gift; however, I couldn't help but take it out and compare it to the Proxxon model that I already own. The two models use the identical motor with the identical analog variable control wheel and so performance is nearly identical. As far as I can tell, the only difference is aesthetics. That, and chucks get worn out over time, increasing play; also, collets are easier to change attachments if they're all the same size... Then again, you can get a new keyless chuck for $10, or you could buy MICROMOT collets for this model for $20.

In short, the hobbyist or tinkerer will notice little difference between this "precision" model and Proxxon's "professional" one.

I originally bought a Dremel at my local big box store. I opened it and noticed how the plastic and rubber grips were sloppily molded with surfaces that were not smooth where they should have been. I turned it on and found that it would not even begin to spin until I turned the speed control up to about halfway. When it did start spinning, it was not a smooth rotation until I turned it up even more. So I was disappointed with my purchase and decided to look around for alternative brands.

I am very impressed with this Proxxon tool. For only a few dollars more than the Dremel, this tool looks and feels like the parts were produced on a quality mold. Everything has a nice fit and finish. The drive spins smoothly throughout the entire speed range just as I would expect. I am very happy I decided to upgrade to this brand.

After reading the reviews I decided to buy a Proxxon instead of a Dremel,and could not be happier.The price difference is minimal and you can use all of the same attachments.It runs very smooth,the difference was quite noticeable.

I've only used the Proxxon rotary tool a couple of times. It runs well and seems to be very well built. It has a nice long cord and the chuck is a lot nicer than using collets. It is also runs a lot smoother and is a lot quiter than my old dremel. Overall, I think this will be a very good tool.

I originally purchased this not because I thought my Dremel was inadaquate or that this would somehow be better, I purchased it because Proxxon's drill press is far superior to the one made by Dremel. However, now that I have it, I never use my Dremel for anything anymore. The Proxxon isn't necesarilly any more powerful, but it is dramatically quieter and somewhat easier to handle than my Dremel. It even uses all my old Dremel bits. The price is comparable to a similar model Dremel. Unless you want a drill press, I wouldn't go throwing out your old Dremel, but if you are in the market for something new, Proxxon is the way to go.

* The motor is quiet even at 20,000 rpm. The sound reminds me of a small electric mixer - the ones that whir rather than scream.

* Little to no vibration when running idle - absolutely none when drilling. When cutting, it depends on the disk/burr.

* If you're using rpm rating for comparison, consider that that's *idle* speed - when Dremel says a tool goes to 35,000, it means nothing about its behavior under load.

BTW, my first test for my new toy was drilling a 1/8" hole in the metal bracket of a PC add-on card (3/64" thick), and it slid through as soon as I applied a bit of pressure.

I have previously owned a Dremel and frankly it seems like a childs toy compared to the quality, performance and accuracy of this Proxxon.

The continuously variable speed adjustment is very good. The tool has a lot of power available.

Comes in a durable plastic case which has some room for tools and bits but would be useful if it could store more.

My only slight negative feeling is that the chuck doesn't always grip as well as I'd like. However, I think I'm reaching for this on routing jobs that really ought to be done with much bigger tools (but the Proxxon still does the work effortlessly).

I also purchased the Proxxon drill stand which seems of similar high quality but I haven't got round to using the stand yet.

No regrets at all with this purchase.

I bought this to replace a failed Dremmel. This is step up in quality. Very smooth in operation and powerful. The grips are comfortable and the controls, once you get used to them, are easy to operate during usage.

This tool is great! It is very sturdy and reliable. I've used it on stainless steel, terracotta, polystyrene and wood and haven't had any problems. I actually use a Dremel grinding kit with my Proxxon tool and it works perfectly. A lot of dust and debris from materials I've used this on has gotten near or in the vents by the front grip, but it runs like the day I bought it.

I bought this model about five years ago, and I'm very happy with it. When I bought it I wasn't aware of the more expensive Proxxon. But if I had it to do over, I would buy this model again for one very simple, but important to me, reason. This one comes with a three jaw drill chuck, and accepts the Proxxon collet chuck as an accessory. The more expensive model comes with the collet chuck, but will not accept the drill chuck. This is because the housing at the front end of the expensive model interferes with the larger diameter drill chuck, so it won't fit.

Why is this important to me? Because, among other things, I use this tool to spin very small diameter drill bits, e.g., sizes #61 to #80, and the collet chuck can't grip them. These small drills like to be spun fast, and this is the ideal tool to do it. It's true that very small drills can be purchased with oversize shanks, but they're quite a bit more expensive than ordinary ones, and since they break easily, it could become an expensive habit. Bottom line; for me this is the one to get.

Blackberry Storm Charger - blackberry tour, 9530

Many reviews of this product point out that it can be used with devices other than the specified Blackberry models.

This is true, but be careful!

This charger is rated with an output of 5v at 700mA. Many devices ship an OEM AC adapter outputting 5V at 1,000mA.

I'll be using this with a Sprint HTC Evo 4G which normally uses a 1,000mA adapter. What it means is a slightly longer charging time for the battery. More than likely not important for the vast majority of people, but a few might object for one reason or another.

Build quality on this Blackberry branded adapter is moderate. Mine has a distinct rattle.

Design is okay. Folding prongs, compact wall wart body, long attached cable with a microUSB connector.

Overall a tremendous value, especially if you have Amazon Prime, but double-check the specs on your device to make sure 700mA output will work for you.

I just wanted to clarify for people, these are standard Micro USB wall chargers - no weird brand-specific extensions. I got two of these for my Samsung Moment and they work fine, besides the fact they say BlackBerry. This was the best deal out there for wall chargers I could find.

This item is available from several different sellers. The highest price (but eligible for free shipping so it makes up for it) is from Amazon -- so if you're looking to receive the exact thing you see pictured here, I'd recommend going for the Amazon one. Other reviewers may be reviewing this item purchased from different sellers.

When sellers set up their item, they can choose among the current listings and just indicate that they are selling that thing. It's entirely possible that they choose the closest similar thing, and don't get it exactly right.

I ordered from Amazon (figuring they know what they're selling and have a vested interest in listing things accurately) and I received a Blackberry branded charger, and the blades were indeed folding.

There are so many sketchy sellers selling phone chargers out there, that it can be a bit scary. The problem is that if the charger is poorly made, the output of the charger can be out of spec and can, in some cases, fry the phone you connect to it.

For that reason, when it comes to phone chargers, you should stick to name brands. (They are all made in China, but the name brand ones are usually subject to stricter QA).

When I found this charger on Amazon, SOLD BY AMAZON, I jumped on it. It's a MICRO USB charger, made for the Blackberry and sold under the Blackberry name, in retail packaging. The rated output is 5V and 700mA.

This charger should work fine with most any phone that uses the MICRO USB connector. The key number to pay attention to is the second one, the rated amperage. This is the MAXIMUM amount of current that the phone can request from the charger. A typical USB port on a PC provides as little as 100mA, and few provide more than 500mA. So this charger should charge your phone faster than when it's connected to a PC. A few phones out now can use up to 1000mA. But that just means they CAN use that amount. If 700mA is provided, they'll still charge, just a bit more slowly.

This is an excellent quality name brand travel micro USB charger at a price that beats the no-name junk from third party sellers. What's not to like?

This is original blackberry equipment and works perfectly. I understand through my research that there's some imitations on the market that don't perform very well. The price on this item is outstanding and so is the product.

Let's face it: you can never have enough chargers for your Blackberry. If you're like me, your battery runs out at the most inopportune times. It's a MicroUSB charger, so it'll charge not only your Blackberry Bold/Storm/Tour/Torch, but it should work for most Android phones. This also charges my Kindle as well.

Also, check to make sure you are buying directly from Amazon instead of a third party seller. It'll reduce the risk that you'll get some bad knockoff.

Overall, you need to have one as a spare. This is my third charger and to be kept at the office just in case.

I bought this charger as a "spare" to keep at the office. I was pleased to see that it was identical to the OEM charger that came with my 9650. Amazon's price and shipping service beat all other competitors. Thank you Amazon.

Hp Ink Cartridge - hp ink, printer ink

I tried using one of those reinked cartridge suppliers, but I had to throw away two of the cartridges because they either leaked or the colors were off. I am very happy with the Hewlett-Packard ink cartidges, the price I paid and the speed of service. HP 56 Black Ink Cartridge, Twin Pack (C9319FN#140)

Printer ink is sort of like brake linings on a car. You have to have them in order to make your product work. Since you have to have them, they charge whatever they want. I can't believe the profit margin isn't huge! Other than that, Amazon was the cheapest place to get the ink I needed from the manufacturer. I've tried the knock off inks and they may cost less but they must use about half the ink as they don't last anywhere near as long.

...than buying it direct from Hewlett Packard online which usually takes a week or so to arrive, but only a day or two with Amazon Prime. I guess, considering all the shopping I do on Amazon, that I should have known to make this my first stop ink shop a whole lot sooner than I did. Well, now I know and so, I hope, do you. Same applies to HP's tri-color twin packs. Excellent products, by the way.

This is the ink cartridge that my printer uses. I've been using it for years. It always works fine. I once tried one of those generic refills on another copier I had but it leaked. Now I stick to new HP products.

This item arrived at my home within days and has been problem free. This is a large cartridge for the price of a half size. HP quality for new cartridge far exceeds the quality of refurbished units of slightly lower value. I will definitely order another but not for while thanks to the lack of shortage of ink.

Quick service on this product, also just learned (duh!) that you can get a lot more ink for just a little more money by purchasing high capacity ink cartridges for HP printers. Still expensive, but a few bucks saved. Hewlett-packard - black ink, printer

I bought a cute little mobile Hp Deskjet 450cbi for college, which has proved to be tiny but reliable, and it's definitely worth the money. While three months of use of our Epson printer at home drains the cartridge, three months of printing out two to three several-page papers every week using my HP 450cbi leaves the cartridge drained only to 40%. I just recently purchases an HP5550 and the printer, despite some negative reviews on speed... is excellent. The Ink is another story altogether. The cartridges are very small and after 1 week of regular use (home business printing, 4 or 5 pictures on sample paper) the ink is almost 1/2 finished!!! This could be a problem in the end as the ink is more expensive than other printer manufacturers. I guess watching ink consumption is something HP did not warn us about!

I upgraded to a new HP printer/scanner/copier 1350 earlier this year having used an old Deskjet 610C previously and was frankly very pleased with the quality that the new printer produced with this cartridge. The text is very crisp and clean and unlike the old printer ink does not smudge if left in the printer whilst the next sheet is sliding onto it.

HP cartridges always are a little more expensive than others but I do think they're worth the price. And they are coming down in price, I can remember when a black deskjet printer cartridge cost nearly £20 and a tricolor cartridge nearly £30.

You can ignore the warning that the cartridge is running low in ink as it comes up much sooner than is necessary. Generally speaking when HP cartridges (laser and deskjet) start to run out you get portions of the page text faded out in the printout and that doesn't usually happen for quite some time after the warning message appears.

What's to say - this is an OEM HP ink cartridge from HP. It performs exactly as you'd expect. The price from amazon is good. The only way you'll typically beat their price on this is either buying in bulk at a warehouse club or to buy a remanufacturered cartridge or ink kit. The former is risky as printer prices drop so fast you can end up with more ink than you need at a price higher than a new printer, and the latter which can be messy and sometimes impact print quality if you get low end stuff.

While the general axiom is that HP sells discounted printers and jacks up the price on the resulting cartridges.This is not the case here, it seems; The cartridges are very cheap and 1 lasts a long time.This is an important quality for a chem major who prints LOTS of lab reports but doesn't want to have to go to the store for ink constantly.

Presently the Amazon price for a new one, especially for customers who have Prime, is unmatched. You might save a few bucks with refurbs, but I sure haven't had much luck with them. Should you go with a refurb, be sure that you use your printer on a regular basis. They dry up faster than new ones, requiring multiple recleanings (and wasting of the "good" cartridge's ink) and occasionally simply refusing to come back to life. If you do purchase a refurb from an Amazon vendor and are dissatisfied with its performance, don't write reviews panning the cartridge as though it were Amazon's or Hewlitt Packard's fault.

All these companies put three drops of ink and charge $1000. Rip off artists because we need it. But I like this ink. It's good if you set your print settings to fastdraft or fastnormal. I got about 500 pages and still went past the low ink warning.

Notebook Computer Bags - belkin slim back pack, notebook backpack

Everyone complaining about this bag being too small should have read the reviews before buying it. Yes, it is very "slim." I'm a college student and I had a large Targus backpack before this one, and that was just too large for my everyday needs. When I got this bag I was very surprised at how light it really was. The construction is great. The straps are well padded, and the back of the bag that rests against your back is also well padded. One of the straps has an elastic pouch on it to hold small items like a pack of gum or keys or whatever. It isn't easy to see though, and it lies flush with the surface of the strap when it's not being used. As far as storage goes. I can fit my laptop (a 15.4 inch MacBook Pro), a large textbook, a spiral notebook, a regular 2-pocket folder with stuff in it, 2 portable external hard drives with their USB cables, a pack of gum, 2 pens and pencils (there are only 2 actual pencil/pen holders, but you can use other slots for more), earbuds for my mp3 player,the apple remote for my laptop, and a couple other small things in the main compartment itself. Then in the secondary compartment I have my laptop power supply, the power supply extension cord, a 6-foot firewire cable, my iPod nano, and the iPod connector cable. In the side compartment (where the thin gray section is on the front of the bag in the picture shown) I can fit an audio cable (1/8" to 1/8"), another audio cable (1/8" to RCA stereo), and probably a few more thin things like that. and all of this stuff can go in this bag without over-stuffing or bulging. So, for being such a tiny bag, it can really hold a lot. I've been using it for 1 month now and it has been great. (no zipper problems, tears, or anything. which is what i expected anyway.) so if you're like me, and you only have to carry around maybe one large textbook at a time and your laptop, this is a great bag. It looks good and it is quite comfortable. It's super light and has enough space for what I need. Belkin Slim Backpack (Black/Light Gray)

pros: nice design, just right size, comfortable back and shoulder, looks very neat.

cons: too many useless small inside pockets and no partition, not a good backpack for books,

overall: if you need to carry notebook and small number of other stuffs, buy it. If you need to carry notebook as well as other books and notebooks, forget it.

It fits my macbook pro 17" just perfectly, along with the power cord, the external HDD, my headphones, ethernet cable, and wireless mouse. There's also a mobile phone pocket on the front of the straps. It's extremely compact and stylish. Unlike typical backpacks, it doesn't stick out very far from your back. It's almost like it integrates with you.

Unfortunately, the colour options suck, and the straps sit really stiffly on your shoulders.

UPDATE: I bought this July 20, 2008. It is now April 18, 2011, and both of the bags that I bought have completely crapped out. One of the zippers of the main compartment has snapped off, making it possible to close with only one zipper. The place where the straps attach have started to come undone. We don't mistreat the bags. Both are filled with a laptop, and cell phone, wallet, keys, etc. Possibly the charger, depending on the day, and maybe an extra battery. Mine held a 17" macbook pro, and the husband's held a 15 inch dell xps something or other. Both were used daily (or almost daily) for about an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening (which is roughly the amount of time we'd commute to and from work).

I originally bought another product by Sumdex, which was great, but was too bulky for me (my husband loves it though). So I found this little gem! There is enough room for the laptop, the cables, a mouse, and perhaps a paperback or two (or a couple magazines). This isn't much room, I admit, but that's what allows this back pack to be so slim. It is wonderfully stylish as well. It has plenty of padding to protect the laptop, so don't be concerned about that. Also, has quite a few pockets for smaller items, including a set of pockets inside for an I.D. and credit cards, a zippered pocket money/change, and places for a couple pens. And it's durable!

A great purchase overall. I'd recommend for anyone looking for smaller laptop bag. I'd buy it again if I'd ever have to replace the one I have now.

This little backpack does a great job. It had lots of separate pockets that can carry everything from folders to cords to spare batteries. Very comfortable to carry and stiff padding for the notebook itself. Much lighter than my old laptop over-the-shoulder bag. FYI: The gray is not at all dark. In fact, VERY light.
