We bought this scooter for our 3 year old after she used it all afternoon at her older cousins house. We knew she could ride it with ease & that she could grow for years with it. She was able to go for blocks & blocks without our help. (We did buy a helmut to go with it). I purchased a third Kick Scooter for my 2 kids because my oldest outgrew her Mini and gave the old one to my niece. They love it, can control it immediately and I feel confident that they are safe on sidewalks of the busy roads we traverse on our way to the park. It's easy to turn and stop. Plus, when the 3-year-old gets tired, it's really lightweight to carry home. I highly recommend it, especially as a first scooter.
My daughter LOVES this scooter. Even though she's only 4 1/2 she was able to ride it very quickly. There is almost no learning curve...just jump on and go ! My only concern is that these scooters (designed in Switzerland) are actually made in China. So be aware that a heavier/stronger child might tear it up in a week.
