White Hunter Ceiling Fan
This is probably not a review of the product as much as a review of Plumber Surplus, who I purchased the fan from. The Hunter Douglas fan was shipped directly to me in the original packing box, had been opened and retaped, and had parts missing including a completely shattered globe. When I called Plumber Surplus I was told that they always ship in another box with additional packing material and that I had received the last fan that they had in stock. The Customer Service rep thought that I received a "returned" fan, and that someone in Shipping sent it to me in error. I was told not to return the fan, and that my account would be credited for a full refund. After two weeks and no refund I called Customer Service and was told that a refund would not be issued until I returned the fan. So I had to repack the fan and take the large box to a UPS location. At this point, I have no idea how long I will have to wait for a refund and in the meantime I am without a fan and not particularly excited about putting out another $175.00. Plumber Surplus received a high rating from Amazon and that was what I based my purchase on in ordering from this vendor. The whole process has made me re-evaluate the decision to buy from unknown vendors through the Internet. I cannot in good conscious give even a good rating to Plumber Surplus. I will NEVER us them again. Hunter Fans 21435 52" Sonora Traditional Energy Star French Vanilla Ceiling Fan w/ Light & Blades
The fan is nice, works well of course, but the Vanilla color has green tones on the blades that I don't like.
I plan to repaint the blades. I could have just gone to the store bought a white fan and I would have been satisfied. I wanted a softer white to match the ceiling paint, but this didn't do it for me. My husband says the fan looks dirty, but for me, only the blades are ugly.'
