Arch Support - arch supports

Struggled with fallen arch and plantar faciatis for months until I found these soft gels. Sure the stickiness doesn't last, but get the double sided tape or shoe gu and its fine. We on flip-flops and tennis shoes. Works great. Dr. Scholl's FOR HER Hidden Arch Supports, 1-pair Packages (Pack of 3)

The two companies should collaborate and include a small bottle of SHOE GOO-TUBE CLEAR with these arches. Before you permanently attach your arch supports tape them into your shoes and make all the adjustments you need until they "disappear" under your foot. I like these because I have very high arches (like a lot of women) that are more toward the front of my foot then 3/4 or full length arch support footbeds expect. You can't move them around from shoe to shoe but they don't move around under your feet when you are wearing them either. I am not a big fan of "gel" because I prefer something soft or fabric so I top these with a full length insole like the Profoot Care Miracle Men's, Blue, 2-Ounces Units (Pack of 3). Because I wear an E width and width can be difficult to find, I cheat sometimes and wear men's shoes. But men's shoes have arches that are too low and further back then women, as well as ankles that are too wide so I goo in heel liners as well Dr. Scholl's Heel Liners, Women's & Men's, 1 pair (Pack of 6) It's a lot of effort but all my shoes feel custom fit. Arches are a must if you love ballet flats.

love em, they work in every type shoe and don't make the fit of the shoe smaller with all the extra material that goes under the heel & toe. Yes the stickiness wears away but double stick tape works fine to hold them in place. Another plus is having a larger foot I can place the arch where I need it not where it lines up with a one size fits all profile.

I have had a severe case of plantar fascitis for over a year. It came on all of a sudden one day. I did have the mnorning pain like is typical, but the bigger issue for me was that I would have debilitating pain causing me to limp severely on weekends when I was on my feet most of the day (vs workdays where a large part of my day is sitting). I have tried therapy, exercise, night braces of all designs and shapes, foot wraps, whole shoe inserts, 3/4 shoe inserts, specialty shoes with built-in arches, etc. After almost a year, I learned that there were 2 things that helped more than just a tiny, tiny bit like all the rest.

First, really extended foot stretches. For me, I get the best results when doing the plank (bonus core and upper body work, too!)

And second, wearing shoes all the time with arch supports. The best thing was the expensive orthaheel sandals, but since their variety is so limited and not very nice even at that, I searched for months trying every arch support insert I could find. I've tried over a dozen and this one by Dr. Scholl's is my favorite. It is both the right size, feel, comfort, but also one of the very, very few that is clear and can be worn with both sandals (since they are clear) and with heels since they bend easily.

I might even stop searching for cures now as with these 2 I have my pain under control!

The first time I bought these at a CVS pharmacy. They fit into any shoe and have self adhesive tape to hold them in place. If you have plantars fasciitis, or flat feet, these are for you! Fit in any shoe and are clear, so not noticeable in sandals. Love these!!

Ask any orthopedist/podiatrist what the "fashionable no support shoes" is doing to the feet & alignment of the population wearing these shoes and they will give you a list of problems directly related to no arch support. Dr.Scholl's Hidden Arch Supports were recommended by my orthopedist as a way to wear flip flops, sandals and other styles that offer no support. Treat them as a temporary solution. They are discreet and will stick in most shoes(great for flip flops). I've moved mine from one pair of shoes to another and they still stick. The adhesive will not work forever but I've found they will still stay in place in most shoes.

I always need extra arch support as shoes do not have much now. These are fantastic! I wear them in my flats, sandals, crocs, heels-anywhere I need them. Depending on the shoe material, they may slip around, but this only seems to happen in my crocs. I love these!

The only good thing about these are the price. The adhesive didn't stick well, they kept sliding in my shoes, and didn't do anything for my feet AT ALL. I'm a waitress and am on my feet for several hours at a time. I need something to comfort my arches and they didn't do it for me at all...

These do support the arch but you have to be careful to mark the high point of the arch and center the pad on it -- they aren't very big and I had to readjust them, which weakens the glue. My feet are size 8. for the first few days the support felt like a lump under the arch, but they soften and settle in. these don't seem to be a sport product, more for comfort in ordinary shoes. One of mine (not the reglued one) is coming loose at the front so they may not last all that long. - Arch Supports'

Stress Management - science, sapolsky

This book has helped me understand the science of stress and some unpleasant results that I've been experiencing. I'm someone who always wants to know WHY certain things are happening, and finds that helpful when figuring out how to fix them. I really like the author's tone: He's a scientist, but one with a great sense of humor and also a lot of compassion. This book, while not exactly New Agey/touchy-feely, is also not cold and clinical as it explains the biology behind stress and how it affects body and mind. Once you reach the point where you say, "OK, now I understand how stress is affecting me ... Now what do I DO about it?," you'll probably need resources other than this book. But if, like me, you like to start out with a good understanding of what the problem is, then this book is a great place to find that foundation. Why Zebras Don't Get Ulcers, Third Edition

This new edition of why Zebra's Don't Get Ulcers is extensively revised and exceeds earlier additions in terms of explaining the effects of stress on the body. This is a very detailed exploration, but well worth the sometimes difficult reading. If you don't have some sort of background in biology, you may find that you have to read it a bit more slowly.

Sapolsky as always explains his topics very clearly and uses humor and good examples to illustrate important points. I particularly liked his analogy of two elephants on a teeter totter for the ways in which the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system can become imbalanced under chronic stress from being activated to frequently and where each is trying to compensate for the massive activation of the other in a vicious cycle.

Sapolosky also develops the implications of long term stress and explains the mechanisms involved in a lot of detail. He also explores how mechanisms that evolved to save our lives in actual life and death struggles can hurt us by being activated over things like traffic jams or missed deadlines.

An example that he uses in the book is that if you are a zebra with your guts dragging on the ground while you are being stocked by a predator, then maybe it's useful not to experience pain under stress. If you may not be alive in an hour, then shutting down long term building processes and depressing short term immunity makes sense as does a narrowing of the attention.

The author goes on to further explain in the example above that the real problem comes when the flight or fight response is triggered chronically and long term repair and important building projects like bolstering immunity are depressed for long periods of time. This example helped me to understand the logic of why our stress reactions work the way they do. The way I explained it was paraphrased from memory, but Sapolsky tells a story that makes sense and helps you to remember important points.

While I was reading this book, I could viscerally sense the kinds of things stress was doing to my body. The information and evidence presented here is very compelling. Sapolsky also looks at how stress is linked to cancer and other controversial topics. He sensitively explores all sides of the arguments and why direct causal links are so difficult to prove for things like cancer. On the other hand, he doesn't back off from looking at the implications of stress with respect to cancer or other difficult areas to research.

Sapolosky is not only a good scientist with excellent credentials, he is a very fine writer. I recommend this book without reservation to anyone who wants an in-depth knowledge of how stress affects the body.

From my background as a biologist, this book really covers the topic with strong support and detail. From my perspective as a reader, it's a true page-turner that doesn't just accomplish its point, but goes well beyond. Sapolsky brilliantly makes incredibly complex systems seem simple and mechanistic by breaking them into manageable pieces and using strong analogies, making a prior knowledge of neuroscience unecessary. Humorous, witty, and easy-to-understand, this book is a must for anyone remotely interested in the topic of stress!

Suddenly I found out that my co-workers needed medicines to go on with their lives, a friend of mine is a workaholic and she has terrible stomachaches, another one took her life after a long depression following a very stressful time, ...

My life is great but sometimes I have to fight against anxiety that comes from I do not know where...

I read this book and now at least I have an explanation, a scientific model for certain behaviours.

The language is so clear that anyone can understand what stress is, how it affects our bodies, why some people develop ulcer and others do not. And it is funny, entertaining, telling little stories as well as technical data.

It is exactly what a scientific book for the masses must be. I highly recommend it.

Imagine yourself at your favorite watering hole in an African savannah. You spot a lion. Your body hops up. Your stress response shifts into high gear. And all just as it was designed to do. Now imagine yourself sitting in front of a new mortgage, worrying about if your boss likes you, or if you look too fat, or your hair is just not falling the way it did after its fresh new cut. Your body hops up, and your stress response shifts into high gear. Only difference, no lion. And this lionless stress, day after day after day will take its toll. Depression, ulcers, heart disease, colitis, irritable bowl syndrome, and more.

Sapolsky's hard-hitting and entertaining book will inform you exactly why too much stress will make you sick. He lives half of his life in a neuroendocrine lab in Stanford, the other half camped out with stressed out baboons in Africa. He draws both on personal experience and solid research to lead you through a detailed understanding of how stress affects our bodies as well as our psyches. You'll get no mantras, no workbook exercises, and no easy step-by-step guides to follow. Nor does he fool around with feel good proclamations. What you will get is a lot of scientifically based facts based on solid research.

Sapolsky is a scientist, and comes to the subject with a scientist's critical eyes. He is also a brilliant and entertaining writer, who knows how to give his message a personal touch. You'll sit through page after page feeling as though he's talking just to you. (Did you know that Type A personality was first discovered by an upholsterer? Or that graves used to be robbed by medical schools to provide it with fresh bodies, and how this is connected to why SIDS was erroneously thought to be caused by abnormally large thyroids?) His scathing attack on Bernie "all-you-need-is-love" Siegel's "Love, Medicine and Miracles" in itself is worth the price of admission. Sapolsky is to stress science, neuroendocrinology and primatology what Springsteen is to rock-n-roll. If you ever get a chance to hear him lecture, camp out to buy your tickets well ahead of time. - Sapolsky - Psychology - Biology - Science'

1080p Dvd Player - 1080p dvd player, sony

This newly developed Samsung DVD is an unbelievably great DVD for only $35.00 including taxes and delivery. I was looking for the newest DVD players at a good price. My problem was there was not one review on this DVD player.

Great upconverting picture, sound, fast loading, reads and plays really bad discs that would skip or freeze on my old dvd/vcr player. Plays burned DVDs with no problems. Very easy to set up and hook up.

I bought this as a replacement for a refurbished Toshiba DVD player that only lasted 15 mos. I have used this DVD player for 1 day. The only problem is an incredibly small remote which is hard to read if you need reading glasses and no hdmi port. Samsung DVD-C350 DVD Player (Black)

I bought this cheap DVD player for the bed-room.

In the living room we have a big HDTV, with an HDMI DVD player.... and lots of fancy shmancy stuff.

But in the bed room for my old standard def TV, I just wanted a cheap DVD player, and didnt care about HD or Blue-Ray.

I looked at a bunch on Amazon for under $50, and decided on this one.

So far so good!

I didnt care about Component Cables, or HDMI. I just wanted an old fashioned AV-out or Coaxial-out DVD player.

This unit is sleek looking, simple, light, and came with a small simple remote control. I set it up in literally 2 minutes, and was watching DVD's in bed!

I give it 5 stars.(So long as it doesnt break!)...(if it does I'll be sure to come change this review.)

So if your looking for a cheap, Non-HD, non-fancy DVD player, this is it.

This DVD player never worked. I sent it back to Samsung and they sent back the same item without fixing it. I asked for them to send a replacement and they wanted to put me through the weeks-long process of sending this one back once again and getting a new one. I don't trust them to replace it, so I'm returning it to Amazon. You'd think Samsung could give a greatly inconvenienced customer a break! I bought this almost 2 months ago and have still not had the chance to watch even one DVD!! Glad that Amazon has a no-hassle return policy.

Never again will I buy a Samsung product.

I rarely ever give anything one star.... but this one deserves it. From day 1 it was really slow to boot up, and after watching just a couple of movies, it would start skipping. I've never had to clean a DVD player so much! Even after cleaning sometimes it wouldn't work properly! I only wish I returned it the moment I got it. It's the biggest piece of crap I have ever owned.

Buyer Beware- take another $10 and buy something worthy... I guess the old saying is true- you get what you pay for!

It started out fine, simple but seemed to work okay. In less than 3 weeks though every DVD I tried to play (retail DVDs, DVD-Rs & DVD-RWs) started skipping and distorting kinda of like when your cable or dish is acting up. possibly the worst electronic device I bought since ... well I honestly can't think of anything that was worse than this item. Buy at your own risk. I have a $40 DVD player I bought at Wal-Mart a year ago that is used an average of 4 hours daily that works great.

We purchased this Samsung DVD player and were very dissatisfied. First off, the remote control is TINY! It's about the same size as a small, travel-sized USB mouse for your laptop. Not a huge deal to me because I have good eyes and nimble fingers. But the player also experienced a lot of problems with invalid format errors. We have several DVDs we've burned ourselves and this player was unable to play many of them. Plus, even with our pristine, unscratched DVDs that were purchased from reliable retailers, the player would skip a lot. Rarely did we make it through an entire movie without the player skipping at least once or twice. We ended up returning it and exchanging it for a PIONEER DV-220V-K (which works great by the way).

If you tasked a team to design the absolute cheapest DVD possible and then add $0.50 worth of shiny plastic so that it would sell, this would be the result.

Both the unit and the remote are small and ultra light. The only 3 buttons on the player's face can't be pushed without holding down the player or else it just just slides away. I don't think that it even has rubber feet. If you're over 40 and occasionally need reading glasses, like me, you'll need them to read the remote or the symbols on the 3 player buttons.

The only ports are RCA and Composite output.

Nevertheless, it works.

this product was difficult to use at best.

On top of that, 3 months after purchasing, it no longer works.

AND according to the seller's policy, not allowed to return or exchange !

I would say DO NOT purchase this item, and DO NOT purchase from this seller.

A simple, inexpensive DVD player was needed so I could watch bad movies while exercising. My old DVD player failed several months ago and I could only take so much of CNN. The Samsung player filled the need very well. It works, it is simple to use and it is quite small. - 1080p Dvd Player - Sony - Hdmi - Dvd'

Kids Fishing - surf fishing, okuma

The rod looks really nice and well built, but I have issues fitting the pieces together. The butt section and the middle section does not fully seat by almost 5/8 of an inch. Additionally, the medium tip does not fully seat by almost 3/8 of an inch, though the medium-heavy tip fully seats to the mid-section. I contacted Okuma service when I first got the item, they tried to contact product development and they have yet to get back to me. Okuma NOMAD Travel Casting Rod (30 - 60 Lbs, 6-Feet 6-Inch, Medium-Heavy)

I have this & 3 Balzar products. They have enough air miles on them to get a free trip anywheres. These ferrules do not fit flush. I presume it is to allow for long term wear. It in no ways compromises the integrity of the rod's flex strength. I have hooked up fish up to 100 lbs on the light action salt water version, trolled with it & landed a 55 lb sting ray with no problems. My equipment is typically superior to the charter's.

This is my 4th Okuma Nomad. I bought this for the Solterra Reel I have. I took it to Maine last week & caught over 30 Cod at 100-300' catching 5 double hook ups. The rod works well for jigging. A big selling point is portability & two tip options. I plan to take this to Aruba for some deep water trolling. Sturdy product & bullet proof in Saltwater. Check out the Inshore series Nomads. These rods perform as well as 1 or 2 piece rods.

I've come to really like Okuma brand fishing!

I wanted to get a light duty saltwater rod that could also stand up to some medium action out on the seas. I also needed it to be somewhat portable, so after doing some searching online - I narrowed it down to the Okuma Nomad. I also own an okuma trio reel paired with a c3 rod that I use for trout fishing - i love that too! So I had pretty high expectations for this rod.

Upon opening the box and playing around with the rod for a bit, my first impressions are that this is a great quality rod. Looks and feels fantastic. As another reviewer stated, the connections joints don't meet flush (up to 1/2 inch, depending how much force you want to use to jam it in there), but I don't think that will inhibit the rod's performance overall. It's light and feels great under my arm. Also Amazon has the best price on the L/ML rod that I've seen anywhere! Paired with my Okuma Clarion I hope this rod will serve me for the rest of my fishing years, certainly so if/when I travel and there's fishing opportunities. I may sound a bit like an Okuma fanboy, but I'm also a realist - If I notice any negative sides to this rod after i take her out, I'll update my review. - Fishing Rod - Kids Fishing - Surf Fishing - Okuma'

Blanket Wrap - as seen on tv, blanket with sleeves

The Snugglette is basically a Snuggie for Kids. The only difference between the 2 is the size of the blanket. I was given 2 snuggies as gifts and they are very warm and comfortable however after just 2 washes the fleece started pilling. For those out there that are unschooled in the differences in fleece, pretty much every fleece in the world is soft and warm to begin with. One of the biggest differences between high quality and low quality fleece lies in the "pilling effect". Pilling occurs when the garment's fibers roll up, often after being washed, and lie on the surface like tiny round pills. This pilling effect serious effects almost every aspect of the fleece including how it feels and its ability to keep heat in. All fleece pills eventually. You can tell how old a Patagonia synchilla jacket is based off of how much pilling has taken place. High quality fleece doesnt pill for quite some time and cheap fleece starts to pill almost immediately. I had serious pilling after only 2 washes with the Snuggies and I am over 20 washes with my Slankets and they still havent shown any sign of pilling yet.

The bottom line - Snuggies are cheaper but you get what you pay for. A Slanket costs more but its going to last you a considerably longer amount of time than the snuggie and it will keep its softness and its ability to keep in warmth much longer than the Snuggie. I gave my Snuggies to the Salvation army and purchased 4 Slankets. My advice is to stay as far away from the Snuggie as possible. Spend a little more and get something that is actually much higher in quality. If however you care more about saving money than actually buying something of quality then maybe the Snuggie is for you after all. Snuggie For Kids - Pink

I totally agree that it's cheap quality fleece; it hardly keeps my kids warm and is over-charged with static electricity. The good? That it works well as a super-large swiffer duster. It picks up all the dust, hair, fuzzies, etc. as soon as it touches the floor.

My daughter has been begging for this and finally received it for Christmas. I was disappointed with the quality. It seems to be made of a very cheap fleece material. Our son received a blanket (I think it was called a Snuglette?) in the same style made by a different company that was MUCH better quality and much softer. However, my daughter loves it and sleeps with it every night.

Knowing the dimensions would have been helpful. One Size Fits All does not apply to lanky 11 year olds. Besides, it was such thin material that it probably wouldn't keep her feet warm even if it covered them!

My girls really wanted snuggies for Xmas this year so I ordered 2 of them online. I guess the products looked more substantial on TV, as I was very disappointed in the quality of this product when it arrived. I am sure with a little effort, I could pull these things apart or certainly poke a hole through them. I was assuming these would be more of blanket type material and not the flimsy, cheap quality that they really are. These people should charge a little more and beef up the product, because they are not designed for keeping anything warm.

The Snuggie for Kids is good quality--possibly a little thinner material than I expected. It seems to be designed for bigger kids--my granddaughter is seven, and small, and on her the snuggy is quite large. It puddles on the floor if she walks while wearing it, but she likes it, and it keeps her warm and comfy, which, since that's its intended purpose, means it's good. - Fleece - Blanket Wrap - As Seen On Tv - Blanket With Sleeves'

Directv - rc64, remote control

I cannot believe the number of people who don't read things before they buy. Of course this remote is not RF. The RF remote is an extra cost item when you buy a DirecTV receiver and YES the receiver is a LEASE item but they give it to you free when you sign up for service so what's the big deal. As to the remote control it works perfect and how can you beat $1.95 plus shipping? You can purchase it for $20 at Wal-Mart or from DirecTV for $15 plus shipping. At $1.95 each I bought two, one for my wife and one for me and they both work perfect. What a deal. DirecTV RC64 Universal Remote Control

Even though this item is listed on the Amazon site as a Universal RF remote, it is NOT RF capable. I spent thirty minutes trying to program it for RF before I finally called DirecTV and discovered that the RC64 is infrared only; the RC64R (the last R stands for RF) is the RF version, and that's not what is being sold here. If you need RF to work the unit in a cabinet, as I do, this remote is worthless.

I ordered this item ANTonline through Amazon. This item says it is a backlite RF reomte but what they sent was a plain RC64 that is exactly like the oem remote that comes in the box. If you really need a RC64RB which is backlite and radio operated I think you will better served to get it directly from directv for $25.00.

AMAZON was impressive taking care of this tranaction. Amazon made this right even though the shipper Antonline refused contact to deal with this issue. Nice job AMAZON!

this remote is not RF as advertised, it a plain IF and will not work if your receiver is in a cabinet. it came from Antonline. I notified Amanda, their service mgr. she asked for the upc code which i gave her that was weeks ago, so far I have heard nothing. have emailed her and am getting stoned walled. don't do business with this outfit. dshadoan

This remote is a nice compliment to my current remote for my Directv HDDVR RC23. It has larger buttons and is slightly bigger in general that the RC23 remote.

So the BAD thing is that the remote described on this page is not exactly what you will get. The remote I received is not RF capable and does not have a backlit keypad.

This was a replacement to the old one (RC32) which I had because the buttons wore off. This quickly was programmed with no issues. Excellent price at the time for this remote also. So worth it! Thanks

Look at something else if you are looking to replace your direct tv remote. Have had this for 2 months and hate it. That's why I'm here looking to purchase something else and could not resist warning others.

1. Flimsy top slide control. (First impression out of the box)

2. Too acute of an aim required. Really annoying.

3. A single pressing of a button will sometimes result in multiple button steps because you did not press the button "just right". EXTREMELY ANNOYING

4. Personal negative; I dislike how it will not sit flat. Rocks too easily.

5. Positive; better than no remote at all.

Word to the wise. Keep looking.

Had to replace 2 remotes because of the dog eating them... (and I do mean eating them, not just a couple chew marks, they were destroyed). DirectTV wanted $15 each plus shipping. I paid $6 each. Big savings, so I bought a few extra, just in case. This is the exact same model we got from the installer, works everything the same way. No instruction manual, but you can go on the All4One site & get all the codes you need to program this to work everything. Definitely worth the money!

I have two DirecTV receivers with identical looking remotes, except one is labelled RC64 and the other is labelled RC64R. Neither has an external antenna. Both work identically, except that RC64R has RF capability. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get the RC64 to work when I went through the DirecTV RF setup (at the end of punching in the setup code, it tells you that if it doesn't now work as an RF remote, then you just have to use IR mode - nowhere does DirecTV tell you that some remotes aren't even capable of transmitting RF). Thankfully, I found a couple previous reviewers who noted the above difference. Otherwise, it's a decent, but not outstanding, remote. On the other hand, the RF feature of the RC64R is very useful, and it still controls my TV's volume, input and power using standard IR while controlling DirecTV receiver with RF (and RF is married to a specific receiver so it won't interfere with receivers in other rooms). - Remote - Rc64 - Remote Control - Universal Remote Control'

Car Charger

I was really excited about the concept and creativity of this device. It does what it says it will do and successfully charges whatever items you insert into it. Items plug into the USB port fine, however, you really have to apply pressure to put plugs in and pull them out, same for when you insert the device in your lighter outlet. I am worried that eventually something is going to get jammed or break off. So handle with care when using. PowerCup 200/400 Watt Mobile Inverter with USB Power Port

This product works great! I like that it has USB and AC connections. I havent had to plug in more than one thing at a time, but I could see how there wouldnt be much room for two large plugs. The only negative for me would be the length of the cord. The beep when you unplug it is kind of annoying too, but I can deal with that.

We like to hike and travel a lot and we have run out of juice for our digital camera many times. We always ended up taking low quality pictures with our phones. This inverter solved those issues. Driving between places we charge our cameras and phones. Tried it twice so far and it has done the job. I have used all the ports at once and it works well.

The only con on this thing is its size. A smaller cup and wider top would have worked as well.'
