Self Defense - self defense, knife
This knife is worth more than the asking price. I read a lot of reviews about the scratches due to the clip before I bought the knife, but decided to buy it anyway. Factory sharpened but comes to a nice razor edge. Very strong and solid in the grip. Perfect size for combat or in a jam with wild animals while hunting or in the wilderness.
Solution to clip scratches: If you look in the sheath without the knife, you'll see a little piece of plastic that looks like it would come out if you stuck a blade between it. Stick a steak knife in there and it pops right out; it will fall in the sheath, just turn it over give a shake and it will come right out. You have just exposed the clip, which you can simply shake out or use the steak knife to wiggle it out. The clip is OPTIONAL! Place the little square plastic piece back with the sharp side up and give a tap with a heavier knife and it should go right back in. No more scratches! You can now do of of two things for a better fit. You can bend the clip so that it would not be so snug on the knife and put it back in or you can get a piece of leather the length of the blade cut it out as if it were a sheath; stitch the edge along the blade side, and you can put it back in the original plastic sheath for a nice snug fit. This will preserve the black paint on your knife. Enjoy. Smith & Wesson SW3B Special Ops M-9 Bayonet Special Force Knife, Black
This is one bad mutha! It looks great and is durable and functional.I bought it to fit on my mossberg 590 Special Purpose Shotgun. It looks awesome. And it is made heavy duty.Get this Knife,a must have item.
Purchased this for a survival knife while I am in the Wyoming wilderness. It looks like a good knife, has a good weight to it, and I feel pretty safe taking it with me outdoors.I haven't checked the strength of the steel, but I am sure it is tough based on the brand and price. One problem though, if you get the black knife, the black finish will scrape in the scythe that comes with it--there's a metal spring clip that keeps the knife from sliding out. That spring scratches the black finish. I imagine that doesn't matter too much, considering that its a knife. I am excited to take it into the mountains this summer!
One more thing. Since it is a bayonet, you can easily secure it to the end of a pole and use it as a spear. Obviously this won't help you against a Grizzly, but you never know what you will run into in the wilderness.
I also recommend this knife for home defense against intruders, especially if you get defensive knife training.
For the price this is an amazing piece of equipment. It looks and feels like a blade that sells for well over a hundred dollars. It is strong has nice weight to is and when I mounted it on my ar-15 Carbine it made the rifle. I will be getting another. The black on the blade tends to wear off with use so my next will be the OD green with stainless blade.
Good quality M-9 knife/bayonette but the scabbard (holder) has a metal retainer pin that scratches the blade with every use. The price is right but just don't use the holder with this knife/bayonette if how it looks is important to you. Fits most AR-15's with bayonette lug as well as Mossberg 590 shotguns. Awesome looking combo with either one!
So, I got this bayonet for Christmas to slap it on my Bushmaster M4 Carbine and it did not work. it attaches to the bayonet lug properly but the ring that settles on the flash hider is down on the barrel so it just jiggles around, not a huge deal though because DPMS sells a bayonet lug adapter so i'll just grab that and be good to go. otherwise the knife part of it....AWESOME! its a very well made, strong knife and i recommend it to anyone considering it, if i were stranded in the woods or in a bad situation this is definitely this knife to have in hand, very strong, comes with a sharpener which you;ll need.doesnt come to dangerously sharp. but for the most part.its a sweet knife and i love mine. i wanna order the one that doesnt have the serrations on top of the blade so i have both. other reviews comment on the black wearing off due to the scabbard and this is a true statement. but its not a fashion statement, its a KNIFE, i dont care if it gets scratched personally but to each his own.great knife thanks for reading
I bought one to go on my tactical pistol grip mossberg 590 and made the gun look extremely tactical the gun is used for hog hunting and I thought it would be a great last resort for close up with a hog. Went to go shoot it yesterday to make sure that the bayonett would clear the rounds so I loaded it up with bird shot to get the biggest spread and the retaining clips broke on the first shot. knife looks great but as far as a functional tactical bayonett its not worth even buying. looks good but doesn't hold up
My S&W Special Ops M-9 bayonet arrived today. It came in a timely manner and was well packaged. First impressions out of the box was it seemed like a nice quality knife despite the "made in Taiwan" label on the box. It has a nice heavy, rugged feel. The blade is pretty thick and came with a nice sharp edge. Nothing you could shave with but plenty sharp enough to do significant damage to flesh and bone. The detachable map pouch is about the right size for a small tactical flashlight and some basic first aid supplies. The scabbard is heavy duty rigid polymer or nylon with nylon webbing and a metal quick release belt attachment. I was disappointed at first when it didn't seem to come with the screwdriver and wet stone as advertised, but on closer inspection I discovered the wet stone was built into the back of the scabbard covered by a nylon strap and the screwdriver was actually the metal tip at the base of the scabbard which somehow is supposed to act as a wire cutter as well. Haven't quite figured that out yet but it just seems like a matter if lining up the hole in the knife with the nub on the wire cutter.
It also fit nicely as a bayonet on my M&P M4. Overall, very pleased with it, only gave it 4 stars because I'll have to see how well it holds it's edge with use. - Combat Knife - Knife - Black - Self Defense'

Captivate Travel Charger / B002M4NMWU
I love my Captivate, but I've been having bad luck with chargers. The one that came with my phone works perfectly, but I wanted another charger for my desk at work. I ordered one from AT&T, but they don't send the same charger that comes WITH the phone (moon logic), and the one they DO sell causes my touch screen to complete freak out when I try to use the phone while plugged in. So does this model here - Samsung Captivate Wall Charger - the charger seems to work fine when plugged into a computer, but plug it into a wall and you can't use your phone *at all* while it's charging because the touch screen will register your fingers everywhere.
I finally tried this charger - Samsung Travel Charger - and it works great, so I'm very pleased and relieved. The only drawback is that this is ONLY a wall charger - there's no detachable USB cord to hook into a computer. That's fine for work, because I wouldn't be hooking my phone up there anyway, but I do wish I could find a good wall charger that had full functionality. Still, I'm pleased with this charger and will probably order another one.
~ Ana Mardoll Samsung ATADU10JBEBSTD Travel Charger
I ordered a travel charger that has the adapter that can be used in the computer or plug into the electrical socket. They sent me the one that just plugs into the electrical socket. NOT WHAT I PAID FOR
Samsung ATADU10JBEBSTD Travel Charger
The charger inserted and the screen showed that it was charging. However, it actually did not charge and the battery continued to deteriorate. Also, when plugged into the charger the phone would not work.
The supplier readily offered to refund or replace with a tested unit. Returning would not be sensible as shipping would be about the same as the refund.
I ordered three of these and two worked fine, but the third did not. I posted that in my original review and recieved a kind offer to replace it from the seller. I responded to their offer by email, and have heard nothing back from them. Now I see my original review disappeared - and I was not the one to delete it. So I am reposting. The cost of the unit was great but postage makes it too expensive to return.
Probably the best charger you can get for this price. I bought another charger on ebay and it was HORRIBLE. It didn't "snap in" to the phone's USB slot, and had to be held at the perfect angle. Also, once it worked, the phone was unusable and the touchscreen sensitivity was all screwed up. This charger locks right into the hole like the charger it came with and the phone is 100% usable while its charging. The only difference is you don't have the option to charge it via USB, it's strictly for outlets which makes it a perfect travel charger. - Android - Cell Phone Charger'

Exercise - weights, exercise
I am very satisfied with this product. It fits well, is neither too tight nor too loose, and can be worn comfortably for long periods (5 hours + so far for me). They are easy to put on and take off, and the thumb rings provide security if you will be partiuclarly active. You can also velcro them on with the thumb out if you are not concerned with slippage.
Please note that the photo on Amazon as of this writing is inaccurate: the lime-green trimmed weights are Reebok's 2 lb (4 lb set) wrist weights. The product you are ordering has purple trim and is half of that: 1 lb weights to make a set with a TOTAL weight of 2 lbs. I didn't know that at the time, but let my error be your lesson. Reebok Thumblock Wrist Weight (2-Pound Set)
as described, can tighten until very snug or very loose and does not cause skin irritation, can manage tightening using both hands, but that is the only drawback being a little tricky to close. Worth the effort
These are great weights, hands down (no pun).. With the thumb lock they stay in place well and slide around very little. That said, I did have one of the rubber tabs rip off while I was putting them on one day. Was quite disappointed that it happened as it makes it difficult to get it snugged down now so that it doesn't slip.
Beyond that, I love them and have ordered a set of the 4lb weights as well to compliment these when I need to up my workout.
These weighted wrist bands were just what I needed to bring my cardio workouts to the next level. They stay put due to the thumblock and the velcro is strong. Also heavy enough without looking too bulky for Zumba or Step.
why so many good ratings I JUST don't understand. I got these for turbo kick boxing. I own like 3 different sets. This one does not slide so that's the only benefit but they are NOT made for ppl w/ small wrists. I am 130 lb and 5'2 so I don't consider my frame that small, however the thing is so long that 1/2 of the part does not stick to the valcro and it just sticks out. Most of the other TKB class mates that own these had the same issue so its just not me. They do stretch out after 1 use too. So now these are like my back ups that I leave the in car.
I like these wrist weights very much. They give me a good upper-body workout when I wear them for my daily chores and activities. They fit my skinny wrists quite well and are very comfortable. They also make a good cushion when I type at the computer. They might not be so good for a man, or for a woman with better developed wrists and forearms than mine, but for me, this is a very nice product. - Wrist Weights - Weights - Exercise'

Soleus Dehumidifier - appliance, soleus dehumidifier
I received this dehumidifier a few weeks ago for use in my basement apartment that had gotten damp with all the rain this summer. It has been running non-stop since. It works great! I have been rotating it around the apartment into different rooms that need to dry out and it quickly fills up with water after a few hours beeps and I empty the bucket. the only drawback is that is does give off a lot of heat, which I guess all dehumidifiers do, but I still gave it 5 stars! Soleus Air DP1-30-03, 30 Pint Portable Energy Star Dehumidifier, with Humidistat
I received this unit yesterday so this is a preliminary assessment. The reason why I needed a dehumidifier is the one that we have in our basement is literally 20 years old. It's so old, it doesn't have a piece of plastic on it but it refuses to die. While I didn't test the old unit for electrical draw, my monthly electric bills are too high. I unplugged/put on a timer every appliance that I thought could contribute and it came back down to my belief that my old dehumidifier is an energy hog.Our basement is HUGE but I still only bought the 30 pint unit because I'd rather run a small unit more often than cycle a larger unit. Same concept as a house air conditioner - and a dehumidifier is a miniature air conditioner. Besides, I'd need the Mother of All Dehumidifiers to completely dry the basement and that's not going to happen.Even though the old unit had just been running before I installed the Soleus, the new hstat read 70%. I don't really care if that's accurate or not, the basement just smelled damp. I installed a drip hose to run into the laundry tub, set the hstat to 55% and went to bed. This morning, it's definitely drier but I didn't bother to check the hstat. I assume the unit ran all night. The impressive point is that I used the same drain hose on both dehumidifiers and, subjectively, the Soleus is draining a LOT more water than the old unit. Plus it is VERY quiet.Once I get the feel of the hstat sensitivity, then I 'll set it and forget it so I can assess the energy usage. I know that I could buy an energy meter but I'll just save the $50.The unit is also light which is important because I put the unit midway up the wall on a shelf (to drain into the tub). The supplied wheels should move very well on carpets but mine is static. BTW, based on my own reading, the Energy Star rating means very little but it's better to buy an appliance with the sticker. Thanks to all those who previously reviewed this product and helped me make my decision!I've updated this since I've used the system for a few months. Previously, I was wrong in saying the blower stays on constantly when the dehumidifier isn't running. Not true, don't know where I got that. All I can say is....dagnabbit but this does pull a lot of water from the air, and it uses less electricity than my old one.One year later and I'm at the point where I just leave it on. Works extremely well and I'm very satisfied.
this little wonder does a great job. I use it in my 20x40 man cave and it keeps it very dry. It is a little noisy for my taste and when we are occupying it I usually shut it down becuase of the fan noise. Also if it is running the room temperature rises a few degrees over the week. We like it when its 67-68 degrees and if it is on all week the temperature stays around 71. I attached a garden hose to it and it has worked flawlessly over last month.
We researched many dehumidifiers and bought this one. Stupidly, we bought it from Newegg which won't accept a return like Amazon would. THis unit is nice looking, and seemed to meet our needs. There are two main problems:
1. The humidistat does not detect the humidity correctly, the machine thinks it is 50% humidity at all times, even when our tried-and-true meter says 20%. The result is that this unit runs constantly.
2. The collection bucket is way too small. We have to empty it twice a day. This may not be as big of a problem except for #1.
We have not contacted Soleus yet, because it will cost us $40 to ship it back to them for a replacement unit.
Would not buy again.
I use this unit in the garage to reduce humidity (obviously). I wouldn't want it in the living room or bedroom, it's pretty loud when running. It's an Energy Star unit - but the difference in my electric bill during peak usage over the winter was easily noticable. But I have never used another one, so I can't really compare. It has withstood lots of usage since I bought it several months ago. It is simple as possible to use. I filled up the 30-pint bucket many, many times. Usually during the rainy season (Seattle, so that's about 8 months out of the year!) if I used it several hours a day it would fill up over just a day or two. So it really does the trick in pulling moisture out of the air. It wheels around, which is nice, even though it isn't that heavy for me it might be for certain people.
It's been two months since I've purchased this dehumidifier and worried (after some dehumidifier reviews) of the possible quick breakdown, I'm happy to say it's still running strong and has taken care of the mold and moisture in our medium sized bedroom and bath. The fan does make some noise but even our cat, who jumps at the sound of...anything, has gotten used to it. No more moldy hats and it still works...seems like a great product to me!
The product seems to work all right but I hooked up a hose to it and it continues to leak into the bucket. It ends up shutting off after a few hours instead of continuing to draw moisture out of my damp Michigan basement.
I read the other reviews on Amazon re dehumidifiers and am so glad I did. Otherwise I had no clue as to how they might perform. This one was chosen based on the reviews and has performed superbly for the problem we had in a hallway. It is easy to empty and the cut off and signal when the container is full are excellent features. It has been working steadily and taking 30 pints a day out of the area. Until we can correct a structural problem this appliance is doing a great job and lessening the AC coming on so often. I highly recommend it. - Basement - Soleus Dehumidifier - Quiet - Appliance'

Ankle Weights
After all the negative reviews I've read about other ankle weights, I got these and they are perfect. I think they cost a bit more than the usual but well worth it. I put them on the first time and not one complaint and I have very small ankles and am a beginner exerciser, so I was worried, but they are perfect. I highly recommend them. Thera-Band Comfort Fit Ankle/Wrist Cuff Weight Sets - Sold in Pairs-5lbs (two 2.5 lb cuffs)-Blue
I wear the green ones when power walking. It's only been about a week but I can already tell the difference in my thighs and glutes. Today, by accident, I discovered that they're much more comfortable if I wear them with the closure in the back.
It doesn't say in the product description, but the grey ribbon at the top and bottom is reflective -- a small but very effective safety feature. I walk along residential streets near my home, so being seen by drivers is important.
I bought the 1 lb. weights to put on my wrists when I do aerobics but my wrists are so skinny that they would shift every time I lifted my arms up and down. So I decided to put them on my ankles instead. If you put on a pair of thin socks and then the weights over them, its a pefect fit. Snug, no movement...can't even tell you have them on. Great for wearing while doing housework or anything while moving around. I may get the 2 lb. weights for a better workout.
Works really well and super comfortable. It is lined with soft terry cloth so no chaffing on your ankles. I wear them almost everyday doing my mat and barre workouts and they add that extra resistance comfortably.
These work just like they are supposed to. The straps are very adjustable, so they fit well around my small ankles. I got the 3 lbs. and am glad I did. I use these with "Brazil Butt Lift" and was going to go with the lighter weights, but these are just the right weight. It makes the work harder, I feel a burn, but it isn't too difficult.
These ended up being exactly as I expected. Great quality, easy to use and they don't make you look like a dork.. A great work out is wearing them while on the treadmill and holding arms out straight in front of you.
Very pleased with them. I use both 2.5 cuffs on my ankle to do an exercise that my physical therapist instructed me to do, twice a day. Easy to attach. My only concern is over the long run, how durable will the velco straps prove to be. Only time will tell. Thinking of buying the one pound weights in the future.'

Headphones - earbuds, iphone 4
I bought these to go with a shuffle to use while working out and I am very happy with them.
Sound quality: The sound quality is excellent for the money ... they have a ton of bass which is perfect for what I am using them for. I own the Image X10s too which are superb but they are 3 times the price and don't have the inline controls. The X10s sound quality is definitely superior, they're more accurate and have much better separation but that's just not necessary when I'm more focused on not passing out while running up the hills here in San Francisco. I find the Klipsch's Image range to be pretty bassy in general so if you are listening to classical music or a lot of instrumental stuff at high bit-rates you will likely be happier with a set of Etymotic ER4Ps (very accurate with amazing separation) but if you're listening to rock/hip-hop/dance etc. the Klipsch Image range are a great choice.
Build quality: Time will tell how well they hold up but they feel sturdier than the X10s and I have had those for 8 months ... I've been pretty hard on them and have had no issues whatsoever.
Comparison to other brands: I have had Shures and several sets of Etymotics in the past and am now a total Klipsch fan. The Klipsch IEMs have comparable sound quality (better for some types of music), are far more comfortable than both Shures and Etys, are better made than the Etys and are better value for money than the Shures.
One word or warning that you will see in many of the reviews: if you have never used IEMs (In-Ear-Monitors aka sound isolating earphones) - they take some getting used to. You need to make sure to get a good seal in you ear for them to work well, if they're lacking bass it's probably because you don't have a good seal. They really do block out pretty much all noise so make sure to look both ways before crossing the road ;-) Klipsch IMAGE S4i-WH Premium Noise-Isolating Headset with 3-button Apple control, White
After a somewhat disappointing purchase of the Apple In Ear Headphones with Mic that I wanted to use with my IPhone 3GS, I now faced the dilemma once again what to buy that would work with the phone. I do own several sets of Etymotics and still feel that these are the best sets out there, in sound as well as value. However, even the new type of Ety's for the IPhone 3GS does not have the volume up and down (aka Apple Chip) on the remote, making it impossible to take full advantage of the phone's features. After reading all the good reviews about the S4i, I decided to jump in once more and to purchase these. Amazon did a great job shipping and they shortly thereafter arrived.
With great anticipation I plugged these into my phone, turned on the music and was greatly disappointed. Mediocre sound with no bass. I now tried the largest inserts, pulled back my ears, opened my mouth and shoved them in as far as pain would let me. Still crap and they hurt big time. I was not happy and thought that I just wasted more money on a bad headset.
I researched other sites about Klipsch IMAGE S4i Headsets and one person wrote about the problems he had (same as mine) and how the 180 degree insertion method did make all the difference, due to how his ears are shaped.
I then took the plugs, turned them 180 degrees, Cable pointing up, and inserted them into my ears. This time they went in easily without any pain and effort! They actually fit nicely and the sound is great! Yeah!
Still not to Etymotic standards, but almost there. Big time bass and (now) great sound isolation. Better compared to my friends Bose Ear Plugs and in a different universe of the Apple in Ear Phones.
So for all of you out there with sound and comfort issues, try them upside down. This might work for you as well.
I did give them 4 Stars instead of 5 due to the 180 degree rotation requirement.
I recently took a trip to Europe and one of the things on my "to-do" list before I left was find a decent pair of headphones that would travel well, since I didn't want to drag my bulky studio headphones along. So with over 26 hours of flying in 10 days, I wanted a pair that could block out a lot of noise and put out good sound quality for the money. I stumbled upon the Klipsch brand and the S4i headphones, and I'm glad I did. These have been without a doubt the best in-ear headphones I've ever owned.
The first and most important thing is sound quality. The highs are great(when listening to certain songs, I heard hi-hats and tambourines that i had previously not heard), mid range is excellent and the low mids are impressive. However, what sold me the most was the bass response. The bass is there, without being too powerful, but when I wanted some brainthumping bass, I turned the EQ on my iPod to "Bass Booster", and I was blown away. These little headphones pack a punch, that's for sure. Bass that can't be replicated by my Infinity 6 x 8's in my car was played with ease, and with little distortion. The only issue I had was slight distortion when playing songs that had both a deep bass line and a punchy kick("Forgot about Dre" by Dr. Dre) but other than that everything was darn good. I wanted to listen to a wide variety of music for this review, and everything sounded great through these, from AC/DC to Jay-Z,Miles Davis, Cake, Outkast,Common, Arcade Fire, and Neutral Milk Hotel, it all sounded flawless, and many tracks I felt I was listening to for the first time since I heard hi-hats, guitar riffs and bass lines that I hadn't heard before.
The sound isolation is also nice, having an 8 hour trip from Houston, TX to London, England, I didn't have to listen to the crying babies with popping ears or most of the engine noise(there was a slight drone, but turning up the tunes solved that problem).
The headphones we're quite comfortable as well, although I think Klipsch could have designed them a little better if the 180 degree insertion method wouldn't have to be used every time. I only had trouble with them when I had fallen asleep for about an hour on one side of my head, and upon pulling out the earphone my ear canal stung for a while, but other than that they we're quite comfortable.
These seem like they're pretty well put together, although I think for this price the wire could be a bit thicker, I'm not entirely sure how long the wires will last, but I can't see any problems in the near future as long as they are taken care of well.
I don't have an iPhone so I wasn't able to do much calling, but did successfully make a few calls from my iPod Touch using VoIP Stunt and both my call quality and my voice carried through well. The earphones block so much sound, however, that I could not hear myself speak very well and was almost yelling into the microphone (the person I called appreciated this none whatsoever).
So as you can see there are a lot of benefits to buying a pair of these. Sound quality is great (especially on Miles Davis' "In A Silent Way"), they're reasonably comfortable, work well as far as making calls (again I didn't try on an actual iPhone) and should hold together if taken care of.
The few gripes I had were nitpicks at best. If they would seal well without having to turn them 180 degrees that would be great. They could include a few more sizes of ear tips as well, but foam tips are cheap and can solve this problem. Other than that these are great and I would certainly recommend them for travel and everyday use, just mind the thin wire! - Earbuds - Headphones - Iphone 4 - In-ear'

Phone Cover - pink, blackberry
This case is seriously pink, so if that may be an issue for you, this is not the case for you. For me, the very bright color was a plus -- the case is very pretty and it does not get lost in my purse or confused with any of the other Blackberries around me at work. It protects the Torch very well, and the front piece fits perfectly, which was a concern because of the sliding mechanism for the Torch's keyboard. If you're looking for a pretty, protective and excellently-priced cover for your Torch, look no further. Blackberry Torch 9800 Hot Pink Rubberized Hard Cover Crystal Case
I love this case! It is seriously pink - impossibly bright. It snaps right on & has a slightly rubberized feel, so it won't fall out of your pocket. With all that brightness, you won't lose this in your purse.
Cheap case for the torch. It's okay, although the pink color is starting to chip off of the case. If you're looking for a cheap case, this is it. However, I think it degrades the look of my torch. It looks more bulky and less inviting, than if I had no cover on it at all.
This wouldn't have been my first choice for a phone cover because of the color, but I ordered it anyway. It's actually a very pretty hot pink. I always had trouble finding my phone in my purse. With this bright pink case, I find the phone right away. The case was very easy to install. It snapped right on, and it's a secure fit.
I received this item in a timely manner. I have not had any glitches with it whatsoever. It fits nicely on the phone and gives it a jazzy appearance. I also like the fact that it does not inhibit phone usability.
The phone case is a very nice pink, yet the case makes it hard for your charger to stay plugged it..
I also did not recieve the removeal tool so that was a down fall because the back case is super hard to take off!!
But for a penny its a nice case!
Honestly this thing sucked. I ignored the reviews that were negative, erring on the side of ignorance. Its a really cute case, easy to use and put on but within the first week, the hooks on the top part of the case broke. Now I am walking around with half of my case on. I love the case, but it is just very poor quality. Also - I am a CrackBerry Addict and because of my excessive use, the pink on the case started to wear off.....right onto my hand, which was a real pain. At the very least, it only cost a penny, but seriously, DO NOT ORDER THIS unless you are looking for a headache. - Pink - Case - Blackberry - Blackberry Torch 9800'

The updated iPod Classic was probably the least exciting of the new iPods announced in the September 2008 update, but that does not mean it should be dismissed.
I own the 160 GB iPod Classic that has now been discontinued, but there are few differences (perhaps the biggest being the much slimmer shape of this 120 model), and I did get to check this updated 120 GB version out at the store, when picking up the new nano and touch.
Firstly, the 120 GB version is again smaller than the largest capacity available last year, but it is a single platter hard drive, which allows it to maintain the slim shape of the 80 GB version from last year. More storage, a hundred dollars less, and just as small. That is progress despite calls from others that the classic isn't exciting. It still serves its purpose as the original iPod idea. Big capacity in a simple to use device.
Next, the software has been slightly updated on the iPod Classic. It now includes Genius, like iTunes and the other new iPods. This allows you, when on a song you enjoy, to select the genius feature. The iPod will then compile a list of songs (playlist), which goes together with the original song you were listening to. This helps you rediscover music in your library, with a playlist to fit your mood at the time. I have been using the genius feature for a few days now, and it is impressive the way it compiles these playlists. I was skeptical, but overall, it does a good job. Furthermore, as another review mentioned, the iPod does seem more responsive with this update from what I saw at the store compared to my original 160 GB iPod Classic. Some speculation has been that the older iPod Classics will receive the software update of this new one, but I'm not holding my breath on that.
Overall, the original iPod concept was so good, and that is why the iPod Classic is still a solid choice for a music and media player. It will hold thousands and thousands of songs (up to 30,000 according to Apple at 128 bitrate). I also backup some important files to my iPod Classic, in disk mode, so that I have that additional extra copy of my most vital files. When you have such a large iPod, you can do that. It shouldn't be forgotten either that while the display of the iPod Classic isn't as good as the iPod Touch or iPhone, it is still quite good and you can play music videos, TV shows, and movies purchased on the iTunes Store.
Battery life for this new 120 GB model improved over the 80GB model from last year. Apple now estimates it at 36 hours audio and 6 hours video.
I'd recommend the iPod Classic without hesitation, to those who have more than 8 or 16 GBs of music in their iTunes library and want to carry their entire collection. Furthermore, if you have videos and video podcasts you want to always carry with you, again, you can't beat the storage. I have the lower capacity flash devices as well, but the big hard drive based iPod Classic continues to play an important role in my iPod Collection. Apple iPod classic 120 GB Black (6th Generation) [Previous Model]
Well, I bought two of these. No, don't ask me why. Please just believe that I purchased two new 7th generation iPods - against the advice of the reviewer who obviously did some homework as to why the old units sound better, I might add. I looked at many forums and read from many people who think the new iPods, (6th generation and later,) have a poorer sound quality than their predecessors. Then I read from those folks who believe that yes, Apple changed the audio codec chip, and yes, several audiophiles have done some qualitative testing and the old units won, but nevertheless, the difference should be impossible to hear with the naked ear. Let me just assure you right now, it is not. The difference in sound quality between my wife's 5.5 gen 80 gig iPod and my two new 120 gig units is vast. Using the same headphones and songs, downloaded from the same computer, the new iPod sounds like listening to music played inside a tin can compared to the old one. For instance, in one song a drummer rakes his hand across some chimes and on the 80 gig, the chimes are crystal, distinct, and separate from all the other things going on at the time. On the new 120 gig at the same spot, the highs are all compressed into a jumble of noise with flat, tinny, cut off sounds. The chimes sound far off and suppressed. The list of music defacement goes on. I noticed this problem across all tonal ranges. So what did I do? I opened a case with Apple and made an appointment at the nearby Apple store. Yes, I lugged in my laptop and two of the iPods. At the store I synced one of their units to the same song and we went through all three iPods, my one new unit, my one old unit, and the store unit, listening to the same 30 or so seconds of song on each iPod over and over. And over. The results were clear... much clearer than the sound from the new iPods, I'm sorry to say. At the store I also inquired about the noticeable lag when starting songs on the new unit. I was told, "It's much more complicated software." Obviously the ability to view the album covers has won out over quality sound. So I'm returning the two 120 gig iPods. Apple is getting them back. Good riddance. Perhaps Apple has forgotten that people buy iPods for entertainment's sake. Music and movies. I hope this helps them to remember that people buy music playing devices to actually listen to music. Now, I've read from the reviewers who suggest that we who want good sound from portable music devices should just get over it. Well, I say blah! Blah on them all! I assert that Apple should be improving sound with new generations of devices. If they want my money that's what they will have to do. I don't believe it's unreasonable to expect newer models of expensive electronic devices to outperform old ones. As for sound quality, the older iPod puts forth very adequate sound. Certainly it could have been improved upon, or at the very least left alone. In fact, how dare the naysayers suggest that we all settle for poor sound? That we should expect poor sound? I say my money goes to the company willing to aim for high fidelity from its music devices. That won't be Apple for the nonce. If all you want is an expensive portable hard drive with a video screen, this is definitely the unit for you. - Ipod - Apple - Ipods - Ipod 120gb'

Pocket Weather Radio - emergency radio, weather radio
I have a number of so-called weather alert radios. Without fail they all have a myrid of features that really dont have a lot to do with simply giving me a weather forecast for my area. This one does, in a simple, straight-forward manner, provide me with a weather forecast and alert if I so choose, and thats basically it. It doesn't fry eggs, give the weather for China, text message, or any other questionably related functions. It is lightweight, simple to use and does what they say it will do.
What will they think of next! MIDLAND HH50 Pocket Weather Radio
I have an old portable AM/FM radio with weather band, but I was looking for something really compact with a weather alert feature that could be carried in a pocket or fanny pack. This one fits the bill. A nice feature: of the seven channels, it automatically scans for the strongest signal in your area. You can also cycle through all available channels manually. Simple to use with the quality of Midland!
I am absolutely delighted with this weather radio and have been recommending it to everyone I know! Having been frustrated by complicated radios that require code inputs depending on where you are, this one that you simply turn "on" is a huge relief. It automatically picks up the nearest NOAA signal. Last weekend it gave me, and several other campers huddled around it atop a mountain, the regional weather information (crystal clear reception) that we needed to make travel decisions. Last night, it gave me and colleagues critical information to plan commutes. When tornado watches have extended beyond bedtime, I simply click the lever up one more notch to "alert" knowing it will signal if severe weather happens overnight. This unit is a tremendous bargain. It's sleek, fits in a small purse. Anyone who lives east of the Rockies should have one of these nearby during tornado and hurricane season. I have two of these devices so that one will remain in my car and one will be in my purse.
I bought this radio hoping it would be OK and I would not have to ship it back. I was pleasantly suprised at what a good job this little (it is very small) radio does. It has had no problems receiving broadcasts and delivers clear crisp sound that is easily controlled for volume. It automatically searches for the strongest signal and is a no brainer to operate. I highly recommend it to campers and hikers and anyone that has a need for a small easily carried weather radio. It can also be set for alert mode whereby it will automatically come on if it receives an alert signal from NOAA. It has both a belt clip and a wrist strap. Well worth the small price.
This is exactly what I've been looking for. Very compact, simple to use, good reception, what more could you ask for. The price is also reasonable. My first CB base station was a Midland when I was a kid so I know I can trust them.
Just like this review, no bells or whistles on this radio. It works like it is supposed to.
The receiver is not super sensitive but very acceptable for what it was intended to do. The speaker is rather small but you can't put anything bigger in it. No bells or whistles but for the price you shouldn't expect any.
I bought this for my brother. He often drives from Louisville, Ky. to Indianapolis and the weather can be quite different there. He suffers lacerations at the cutting edge of technology. All he needs is something he can turn on and hear the weather. He doesn't care how many channels are available. This radio fits him fine. He turns it on, it finds a channel with a signal, he hears the weather report.
Here's the bottom line. If you need a no frills radio at a bargain basement price, I'd take a look at this one. This could also be a great radio for campers or backpackers. It's light weight and if you happened to loose it it's not like loosing that $98.99, do everyting radio.
I gave this weather alert radio to my husband for christmas and he's been talking about it ever since. he likes everything about it. He has used other products by Midland and indicates that the brand is very reliable. It's easy to use and a great size for carrying.
Purchased my Midland HH50 Weather radio almost a year ago. It works well delivering weather forecasts & storm alerts as needed. We take it with us in our vehicle when we travel and it has proven to give peace of mind in tricky weather situations. A worthy investment. Batteries wear down a bit quickly, but not any real issue.
Small and lightweight. Autoscan worked well and immediately went to weather station which gave local weather report.Volume control increased sound to nice level. Very good sound quality for small unit.Alert option nice extra. Easy to use. Worked better than my larger weather radio w/o autoscan. - Pocket Weather Radio - Weather Radio - Weather Alert - Emergency Radio'

Bookshelf Speakers - computer speakers, speakers
I got these speakers to replace an old pair on my boat. Boat duty is rough on speakers. The installation was easy. Good hardware and terminals. The speakers are made to stand on their end or be hung from metal brackets. I used the brackets and found the thumb nuts to firmly lock the speakers in position. The sound output is good. Being on the water high back ground noise requires you to drive your speakers pretty hard. Bass is a little light. All to be seen is how well they stand up to the elements. Dual 3-Way Indoor/Outdoor Speaker Set
I mounted these underneath my travel trailer and was really happy with them. Sure they aren't extremely high quality, but they sound great to my ear and the price was right. I also like how easily they come off and on the brackets. They have gotten wet and so far, no problems.
I just built a deck and figured I'd run wire for some speakers before I finished to allow easy access. I had this brilliant idea 2 days before I was having people over to build the deck. I went on Amazon and had these bad boys in plenty of time with my Prime shipping. They sound GREAT!! I have a white house and they blend in perfectly. You wouldn't even notice they were there. They don't have too much bass and a nice even sound. I live in a slightly dense neighborhood and just wanted some casual music for sitting on the deck....these are the ticket. They can get pretty loud too, but I don't need to piss off anyone. I have them hooked up to an old 200 watt reciever I through in the kitchen.
I was looking for some nice sounding inexpensive speakers for a styling salon for their background music. I needed 14 speakers to be hooked up in the stereo mode to a satellite system. These speakers were the perfect solution. Not only to they sound very good with a great frequency spectrum but they are also weatherproof and come with the mounting brackets. I will buy more of these great speakers. The service was second to none. Fast shipping and no hassles.
I bought these speakers with very low expectations. I believe you get what you pay for but in this case I was pleasantly surprised. These speakers far exceeded my my expectations. They look good, install easily, and sound good. I am using them on a covered outdoor deck for a flat screen tv/stereo set up. They provide more than enough sound for the deck area and I can turn up the stereo and listen from all over the backyard and garage. Since they aren't getting wet I expect them to last for a while but at this price I would be happy with one long Texas summer. Thats about 10 months! I would recommend them to anybody and will not hesitate to purchase them again in the future.
Bought these to replace a wasted expenditure on some Acoustic Audio
151 speakers. These sound quite nice and given the price tag,
they sound excellent- easy to mount and they look to do well
in wet weather. Don't know how they stack up to a much more expensive
speaker, but bass response, although not super, is pretty good actually.
As long as you don't expect audio file quality for your outdoor
application, these are really pretty good.
I bought these speakers for outdoor use (by the pool). I was pleasantly surprised by how good they sounded for how little I paid for them. They sounded better than I expected, they even had nice bass response (rated at 100 Hz). My wife was pleased because they are White and small. I may have to get another set for some surrounds!
Installed a couple of weeks ago in my patio, under the eaves. They sound good and look good. Hopefully they will last a long time. Doing exactly what I purchased them for a a good price. I liked the detail where you can turn the DUAL logo on the speaker to match its mounting (vertical or horizontal).
I bought four of these to replace Dual speakers on a boat. No one was sure how old the previous speakers were they had lasted so long. These new speakers were completely different. The grills started rusting within 2 weeks and are now half covered with rust (very unsightly), the mounting brackets were so flimsy they droop from the weight of the speakers and will not hold the speakers in the position you want them to point. These speakers will have to be trashed. Whatever the previous history of Dual, these are just cheap Chinese POS. - Computer Speakers - Speakers - Outside Speakers - Awesome Speakers'

Health Monitors - weight loss, fitness
After using the Oregon Scientific pedometer with pulse meter (disaster - clip broke in 90 days, unit rendered useless) - I decided to go for a more utilitarian unit. Other than the batteries' demise, this unit has been quite usefull. The clip is stronger than my previous model; and testing with a 1 mile tracks shows the unit is off about 2.5%, which is not bad. While a little sparse on features, it gives you what you basically need; # of steps; distance; # of calories expended. If you are looking for basic, good value, this could be your winner.
I have had this Pedometer for over 6 months and have had no problems.
When I bought the pedometer I was starting a personal program to help me get into better shape. The pedometer was easy to configure to match my step size and the built in clock was convenient. Within about 10-15 minutes I was out walking and it was measuring distance and number of steps.
The Pedometer comes with instructions for setting your step size so that it measures correctly when you walk. The price has stayed very consistent, so don't look for it to go down.
Before purchasing you might consider that McDonalds recently was running a promotion to encourage people to purchase their healthier meals. They had adult happy meals that included healthy items and came with a pedometer. Also, some local stores (such as Walmart) might have pedometers for less than the price for this one. I can't speak to the durability of those items and considering my sucess with the Omron Pedometer I might just spend a few more dollars to get something that I know is a good product.
After having three $20 Sportline pedometers break on me (in various ways) in less than two weeks each, I found the Omron in a Kaiser Permanente pharmacy (for more than Amazon charges). After a month, I'm delighted with it. For one thing, it hasn't broken. It measures steps, aerobic steps, distance traveled, and calories burned. There's a + and - adjustment that lets you fine-tune the sensitivity. It resets itself to zero at midnight, and keeps a 7-day memory of all your data. I consider it well worth the money.
This product has a very "toy like" feel. The case is flimsy, the buttons feel funny, just toy-like. It only works when positioned horizontally on
your belt. Seems to work OK, but don't dare drop it or it'll break. The light plastic case has a heavy metal weight glued inside.
Why not spend $8 more for the superb Omron HJ-112? The HJ-112 has dual pendulums inside so it counts accurately whether on your belt or in your pocket. And it's built like a tank.
It is so rare to find consumer electronics where the manufacturer takes pains with every little detail, that I was pleasantly surprised by this pedometer. At the price, it is a minor work of genius.
First off, the thing actually works, which right away puts it in the top 10% of pedometers. The casing is lightweight and attractive, with a secure clip.
You must take a few minutes to set it up, but the task is much simplified by a well-written, thorough, and easy-to-follow owner's manual.
First, you set the clock. The only thing the clock really does is to reset the device at midnight every day.
Second, you set your weight. This enables it to calculate calorie expenditures.
Third, you set your "stride length", which enables it to calculate distance traveled from the number of steps.
Finally, you clip it on, take 100 or 200 steps, and then check it for accuracy. If the number of steps recorded is not the same as the steps taken, there is a sensitivity setting you can adjust.
There are four screens you can view in succession by pressing a button: Total steps taken, total mileage walked, total "aerobic" mileage walked and the time it took, and total calories expended by walking for the day. I haven't taken pains to assess its accuracy, other than the steps counted, because I don't really care if it records 2 miles when I've walked 2.03. It is certainly close enough to precise measurement for my taste.
The aeorbic steps feature is nice -- you can wear it all day, and if you take an "exercise walk" you don't have to reset it.
I'm delighted with my purchase.
The Omron HJ-105 Pedometer is a marvel of modern technology. Once properly set and calibrated, it will give you accurate readings for your steps, aerobic steps, calories and miles on a daily basis with a seven-day memory. It is easy to set, simple to read and not encumbered by unnecessary features. True, this is a basic model, but I certainly don't mind paying a small sum for an instrument devoid of frills but which does the job. I simply do not need the pedometer to "talk" to me for an additional 20 or 30 bucks. If you're looking for an honest, well-made and designed pedometer, this one may be just right for you. - Walking - Weight Loss - Fitness - Exercise'

Camera Battery - digital camera battery, rechargeable batteries
This battery is identical to the one that came packaged with the original Nikon Camera and works exactly the same - same battery life, same charger used, etc, etc. If you want a spare battery to charge while you are using the original one than this is the battery for you. Nikon EN-EL10 Lithium-ion Battery for Nikon Coolpix S80, S5100, S4000, S3000, S600, S570, S520 & S210 Digital Cameras
This is an OEM battery that fits the Nikon S60 camera. It looks, functions and works exactly as the battery does that comes with the camera. Expect exactly the same performance. It does come with a small plastic sleeve to store it.
This battery was bought in case the original battery ran down while using the Nikon S200 camera. The camera comes with an external AC charger, so we always have two fully charged batteries (one inside the camera) when we go out.
Bought the new Coolpicks Camera that uses this Battery. Looked for this Battery at Best Buy and such, they wanted $50 for a knock off. The warranty states you have to use the Nikon EL10 or you void the warranty. Anyways I found the exact Nikon EL10 at Amazon, it was only $20 I keep one in the Camera and the spare charged and ready to go. It only takes the battery going dead one time at a important event and you will make sure you have a spare. Now I do, Thanks Amazon
Spare batteries seem to disappear into some sort of "blackhole" whenever I really need them! I was packing for my trip to Hawaii when I noticed that my spare Nikon camera battery was missing. I've had terrible luck with "no name" replacement batteries being able to keep their charge and with manufacturers always changing batteries, it was impossible to find this battery in stock locally. The last time I ordered one on eBay, I received a no name despite the description claiming it to be the OEM brand battery. With much hesitation, I ordered one from Amazon and am happy to report that not only did I receive a Nikon branded battery, Amazon Prime was able to deliver the battery to me in time for my vacation - as promised!
Bought this as a backup when traveling on vacation. It's the same as the Nikon battery that came with the camera and was 20% less expensive through Amazon than at the local discount store. The order was filled the day after it was placed and delivered within a week. Happy with the purchase and the supplier.
This is the replacement battery I requested, since my origianl batttery was received "dead" on arrival.
This repalcement battery was received quickly, and in good shape (= it worked).
The only problem was that I had to pay to ship the original battery back. This added cost to my original purchase, that made ordering on-line about equal to pruchasing the battery locally.
Your picture shows Nikon brand. The one I received is a Targus brand.I charged once and already is peeling off the black cover.
This is not what I paid for.
Please send me the original Nikon brand shown in this picture.
Thanks.
I had ordered the wrong item but the return process was easy. I did have to email and check to see if they had received the item and if it was creditied to my account. It would have been nice to just get that email and not worry. - Nikon - Digital Camera Battery - Rechargeable Batteries - Digital Camera'

I was looking for good case for my Canon SX130 camera.. I found this case bought together with the camera which made me go and buy it w/o worry about it might not fit the camera..
It can hardly fit the camera but will never close if you tried to place the very basic accessories: couple of AA batteries and memory card.
Unfortunately, I have opened it otherwise, I'd return it and get bigger one that fits my camera, batteries and memory card. Case Logic DCB-302 Compact Camera Case (Gray)
This review is for owners of the ZS-7 looking for a camera case -
Case fits ZS-7 like a glove - perfect. Anything smaller will not work.
Case is well made, smart looking with red accents (black case).
The pouch in front will easily an extra battery or two (imp if you use the ZS7). Also has a pocket stitched in for holding memory cards (very convenient). The front pocket will not fit both the camera and its charger at the same time (it will fit the charger if there is no camera).
Other cameras with dimensions similar to the ZS-7 should do fine too.
I hope this review finds you with ease if you're an owner of a Nikon S8100. You wouldn't believe (or maybe you would, if you experienced what I did) the extremely difficult task of finding a case to fit my Nikon S8100 on Amazon. First off, most the suggestions for "Nikon S8100 Cases" in the search box are bogus. THEY DON'T FIT (per other user reviews for the cases, contradicting the title/headline of the items completely). This case fits PERFECTLY and has room in front compartment for an extra battery or two and memory cards.
Outside of the fit, the case is very durable and does not look or feel cheap at all. All in all, in my opinion, a great investment.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I truly hope this was very helpful to you.
I bought this case for a friend for her new Canon SX130IS. The case came up with the camera description as an "also bought" and if you search camera cases for Canon SX130IS, it also comes up. I loved the choice of colors and the compartment in the front. It has a nice strap and a belt strap on the back (which, by the way, must have the belt threaded through it; there is no Velcro to allow looping over the belt so you would need to undo your belt to take the case off the belt.) So all in all, a pretty good case. However, the case does not fit the camera for which it was purchased and advertised to fit. My friend could not fit the camera in the case and zip it up. Forget about putting batteries in the front compartment too with the camera (and you will need extra batteries with the SX130IS because it goes through them quickly). Now I am stuck with the case because she ripped off the hand tag, the only way to fit the camera in the case. You must have the hang tag on in order to return it. Bottom line, if purchasing a case for this Canon camera, look elsewhere. (I'm sure it's great for the right sized camera.)
I bought this camera pouch for Canon PowerShot SX130 IS but it is very small to accommodate my new camera. I have selected this bag because this pouch was recommended for this camera. So don't trust any recommendation provided by the site.
Planning to give it to my friend. - Case Logic - Digital Camera Case - Point And Shoot - Digital Camera'
