Adult Coloring Books - sketching, colored pencils
These kits are fabulous -- they are excellent and inexpensive and great for kids age 2 and up (and certainly for adults as well).
1. The exterior is very sturdy, and even holds up to my younger daughter dragging it along the sidewalk. Easy to keep clean -- appears to be water-repellent.
2. It's easy to carry. Small enough to fit in a small backpack, but also has a carry-handle that you can keep tucked in, when the case is zipped, or hang out as a handle.
3. The elastic holding the colored pencils in place is very strong. Each of the six elastic sections holds 2 pencils very snugly, but not so snug to make removing pencils difficult at all. Very quickly, though, there are colored pencil marks inside the case from the pencils being removed/replaced, but really it's not a big deal - all on the inside.
4. We haven't yet used the pencil sharpener, but the eraser does indeed erase these pencil marks very well.
5. The pad of paper also fits snugly. Using both sides of the paper, though, doesn't work that well as the sheet lays across the upper ridge of the case, but we plan to turn the entire pad over after the front sides are used. I haven't yet sought out replacement paper, but I don't anticipate any problems.
6. The case has enough extra space to put in some of your own extra supplies -- pieces of scrap paper, sheets of stickers, etc.
7. The price is outstanding! I am pretty sure we paid around $15 for each kit, and now I see it's on sale here for $8.95! What a steal. The components are very high quality, and I still feel like for $15 I got a very good value.
Great gift for any age or gender. If you have NO idea what to get someone, this Keep N Carry set is a safe and creative choice. Royal & Langnickel Drawing Essentials Keep N' Carry Set
I bought this for the case, not for the pencils that come with it which are rather low quality. I have my own set drawing pencils (graphite) and just needed a simple case to keep them from banging around as they would do in a pencil box. This zippered case fits the bill at half the cost of most pencil cases. Elastics hold six sets of two pencils securely in place. Material quality is average, but construction seems solid. It should last for quite a while. My only complaint is that the case could be more compact; it is taller than necessary for the pencil in order to accommodate the eraser and pencil sharpener. You also have to have two pencils in each elastic holder to keep the pencils secure.
Pros:
- solid quality and construction
- inexpensive
- zippered enclosure
- durable
Cons:
- not as compact as it could be
- have to have two pencils in each slot
- don't expect much from included art materials
- not going to win any design or fashion awards
I got this as a Christmas gift and I love it, I've been sketching for over 35 years
and this is nice addition to my sketching material's. I would recommend this product to anyone who's interested in sketching the basic's.
I bought this for my 13-year-old daughter who recently began to draw. She loves the kit and has taken it with her on car rides and airplane trips. I honestly cannot compare the quality of the pencils to, say, the best out there (Prismacolor?) because I have not tried them. I would, however, highly recommend this all-inclusive kit for anyone of any age who has an interest in drawing. - Drawing - Sketch Books - Sketching - Colored Pencils'

Hyper 212 Plus - 120mm fan, case fans
Since this is a PWM fan, any review should be based on that fact. If you plug this fan into a 3 pin (non PWM) outlet, you will be shocked by how loud it is. But a PWM fan should only run at 100% when your system is nearly overheating. A properly tuned PWM fan should be at its lowest rpm (about 700 for this one) when you are surfing the web, and it should spin up only when your system gets hot (video compressing, gaming, etc).
This fan is perfect when used as a well tuned PWM fan. I use SpeedFan to customize my settings. I set the target CPU temp to 54 degrees C, and I allow it increments of 3 PWM (the default is 10, which causes noticeable noise changes). This creates an almost silent PC while idle (like surfing, word processing, etc). After a game has been running for 4 or 5 minutes, the fans get to about 1300rpm and the CPU holds at 54. At this speed, the fan is only audible if I mute the gaming noises, but even then, its not annoying. At minimum speed, in a completely silent room in a rural house, I have to strain to hear them at their lowest speed (700rpm).
I actually have three of these chained together using a rosewill pwm splitter. One is on the CPU heatsink, the other two are case fans. They all spin up when the system gets warm. They never seem to go beyond 50% even when gaming with a hot Radeon 4890.
For the price, this is the best value PWM 120MM fan I could find. The Scythe PWM 120mm seems like it might be able to push more air for a given db of noise, but you can get three of these fans for the price of two of those. Cooler Master BladeMaster 120mm PWM High Air Flow Silent Case Fan R4-BMBS-20PK-R0
I purchased these fans to use in PC's because many of them require a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) type fan for
connection to a 4-pin connector on the motherboards. It has good airflow, and fits anywhere a standard 3-pin
fan does in a computer case. It can also be used as a replacement fan on a cooler assembly, which many CPU's
require these days on motherboards using the 4 pin connector and PWM to control the fan assembly. Many of them
have 3 pin fan connectors for all other case fans.
Pulse width modulation is a way of controlling the fan speed using an amplifier on the motherboard, that will
vary the width of the signal (timing) or height (voltage) to increase or decrease the fan speed based on the
sensed CPU core temperature. A 3-pin fan by contrast, only receives a return signal on the 3rd wire telling
the CPU's fan operational amplifier it is spinning. Without the return voltage signal the computer will shut
down, signifying the fan has failed and turning off to protect your PC's processor from overheating. This is
also done for any other fan that has this type of support on the motherboard. That's why it's important that
you connect your fans to the motherboard connectors, instead of the power supply's.
These fans were used on an Intel DH55HC motherboard in an Antec 300 case. The Intel mobo has only PWM fans.
They were the 120mm and 80mm PWM Cooler Master fans.
I added this fan to my Hyper 212+ cpu cooler and it works great. I made the mistake of buying a different CM fan than this only to later realize that I needed a PWM fan. If you are adding a second fan to your Hyper 212+, this is the fan you want! It is relatively quiet and pushes alot of air. Great fan for the money!
I originally purchased fan to use as my main case exhaust fan. I did not feel it was pushing enough air, for two reasons. 1. Mobo did not have it running at 100% until case was already getting hot. 2. IMO Not enough CFU from this fan as a main exhaust fan.
Fan is not particularly loud at 100%
I moved the fan over to my Hyper 212+ so now I have it in pull-push configuration where it is working great.
I ended up getting a 110CFM Scyth slipstream and a cheep fan controller to control my case exaust.
Over all probably would be a great fan for an HTPC or other computer where heat is not an issue, works well as a fan for 120mm heatsink.
When a fan is advertised as silent, and it's not that's not cool. I'm an audio engineer and probably pickier than the average person, but I bought these, had them in for 2 weeks and I had pots controlling them so I could turn them down to silent, but they didn't move that much air. When they were on full blast (full speed) it was LOUD. When I discovered this I did more research and ordered some Noctua fans (granted, the were more expensive) but they really are silent and TOTALLY worth the extra investment. If noise isn't an issue these move a lot of air and are fine, but they're not quiet at all.
Ordered this as a 2nd fan for my CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus cpu cooler.
I use a 4-pin fan header splitter so I can run them both at the same speed off of the cpu fan header on my GA-890fxa-ud5 board.
I already had one of these that came with my Cooler Master Hyper 212 plus. I ordered a second one so that I could use a "push/pull" configuration to get more cooling for my SB CPU. I also ordered a Y pwm cable so I could run them in parallel from the CPU fan pins on my motherboard. All of that worked just fine. However, this fan as a "whine" to it that my other fan doesn't have. Even at low speeds like 700 rpm it's there. Checked to see if something is rubbing on the blades or is in their way when in position. Nothing appears to be wrong. But the high-pitched whine drives me nuts. The fan only cost $12, so what am I going to do, ship it back? Obviously, not all of these fans are exactly alike.
I don't know if that's a trade mark infraction, but the capacity to move cfm's of air through a small aperture is exactly what this fan has got, in abundance. I think it spanks just about every other fan I've used, 80mm or 120mm. The caveat, and why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars, is Amazon's "love it" category for 5 stars. I just can't say I 'love' the high pitch whine which goes along with a great performing fan.
I know, I know, why whine? (me?) It does what I bought it to do, better than all the other fans I've got. It's the latest tweak in learning to live with that ASUS Geforce GT220 PCI-E 2.0 1 GB DDR2 Low Profile Graphics Card ENGT220/DI/1GD2 (LP) which I installed in my folks slim line HP Pavilion PC. It heats the main board at the card interface, and I think my card was an older (discontinued) version than this latest graphics adapter. If anyone is still wrestling with the logistics of shoe-horning a Low Profile graphics adapter into a PC case that's really too small, THIS fan rocks. And the ASUS GPU isn't too shabby either. - Case Fans - Cpu Cooler - Hyper 212 Plus - 120mm Fan'

Building Construction - home design, kitchens
I bought this book and video combo as soon as it came out, having previously purchased his other book "Concrete Countertops: Design, Form and Finishes for the new Kitchen and Bath." I also own the DVD "Concrete Countertops DIY." I was hoping that this book would provide some more insight and more details, but instead found this to be basically a watered down version of the ones I already own.
"Concrete Countertops Made Simple" is a good introduction, but if you are really interested in building concrete countertops, and want a bit more understanding on the subject, I would highly recommend you skip this set and get his other book and video (sold seperatly) instead. It costs more, but you get more. They are excellent resources. Concrete Countertops Made Simple
The material covered is simple and well laid out. Don't expect too much and you wont be dissapointed. None of the details of fine countertops, even countertops shown in book, aren't covered. Colors are not discussed. Recipes are almost non-existant. But if you want the basics as how to make a simple countertop, then this is a good reference source.
Using this book and included video, we created a terrific concrete countertop for our child's bathroom. We customized it by scattering glass tiles and inlaying them, and then also using the same for the backsplash. We topped the whole thing with a glass vessel sink, and the bathroom looks very high end! The whole project was made possible by the book and the available colorant options from the author's website. We are thrilled!
Good book for beginners. Could use a few more examples, it seems to go over some steps very quickly, but overall a good starting point. DVD helped compliment the book, so i suggest reading and watching at least twice.
I have two of Cheng's books and they have some overlap, but also new information. This book is very good and gives a good explanation and photos to describe the steps. I think it could use a few more, but if you re-read and pay attention, it eliminates most/all the earlier confusion. He also included a very well-done DVD that shows short clips of the various steps and these also helped to visualize some of the text descriptions. The book and DVD are Taunton Press and I've always found them to be very high quality. It does show a substantial portion of his own work, which can seem a overly-commercial turn-off in some cases, but it also is instructive and gives ideas of what can be done. I've noticed that other similar genre authors do the same thing and it is good supplemental information if they don't saturate you with it. Overall I think this is a very good instuctional reference that would give me enough confidence to start on my own project.
Very good beginner book as it's a starting point of a very complex task of forming your own concrete counter. This gives you the bare bones basics of getting started. You will learn the basics from a book like this & then practice..practice...practice. I have not formed a counter as of yet because of time constraints, but will in the near future.
Excellent, I love this book, great instructional material in this book. I have already started my own vanity top for a bathroom remodel project and I am planning to build a dining room table all based on the knowledge gained from the information contained in Mr. Chengs well written and illustrated book. Highly recommended if you would like to take this up as a craft, hobby, or are thinking about remodeling and want to do some of the creative things yourself.
This book makes it easy to follow the process for making your own countertops. The dvd included is also a great resource. If you need any other information the author has a great web site too. I'm ready to take on the project.
This is a great book and DVD if you want to build a concrete counter top this is the book you should have it is straight forward and the DVD is great I like DIY projects and I will use the information in this book to build my own counter tops. - Home Design - Bathrooms - Concrete Design - Kitchens'

Wrangler
My husband is so picky about the shirts he wears to work. He loves this one. I got it in Tall so it stays tucked in. Now I guess I will buy this everyday birthday for him. He is not one for variety. It washes up well with no ironing needed (if taken out of the dryer and hung up immediately.) Wrangler Men's Cowboy Cut Work Western Long Sleeve Shirt, Blue Stonewashed, Medium
This wrangler cowboy cut shirt is a quality garment. The shirt is warm enough, but breathes, so is not sweaty. The double pockets are perfect, and the cut is roomy. The snap front is easier than buttons, and looks better, too. Recommended for guys and gals! For a heavier weight shirt, try: Wrangler Men's Cowboy Cut Work Western Long Sleeve Shirt.
I purchased this as a gift. This shirt is exactly the cut and style my stepfather prefers. He was particularly pleased with the prewashed feel of it. I would recommend this for anyone seeking to clothe the modern day cowboy or those who want to dress like one.
This is really a fine shirt. The washed fabric's character is immediately soft and heavier than you might expect. Beware the meaning of 'cowboy cut' though. This shirt's 8 inch drop narrow body is perfect for the mounted cowboy roaming the grassland, herding stray heifers and wrestling calves for branding. This shirt is not so good for the suburban cowboy lifestyle of riding the couch and desk, rounding up stray spreadsheets and wrestling calf-skin clad heifers at the local dance club. I returned the shirt, but will consider buying a size up in the future.
This is a fantastic shirt. I wear it as a work shirt but it is cut stylish enough that I can get away with wearing it to casual affairs. The thickness of the denim is similar to a medium flannel shirt so I can wear it on a warm day and not sweat. On cold days I can easily layer up as needed and not feel bulked. It is slim cut so EX large feels like a tailored fit for me. However, there is magically lots of room for body movement while working. There is some room for a large gut, but it's really a slim cowboy cut so if this is a concern you might want to try it on first or buy a bigger size than normal. The 'tall' cut is great for a working guy because it's really tall. There is not going to be any 'plumber's crack' here. To me the shirt has enough of a tailored feel that I wear it to social functions every so often. Once I wore it with a tie to go someplace. My wife wrinkled her nose and said it didn't look toooooo bad.Good enough. That's all I needed to hear. This shirt is part of my 'default' apparel and I think it will be the same for you.
Another great western shirt. This one is stonewashed and looks great and feels great. It also keeps me warm if the weather is just slightly cool. It looks and feels good right out of the dryer without any kind of touch-up needed. It feels like it will wear very well as the material feels durable.'

A SPINNING CLASS MUST! I was hesitant to try this headband as I have a smaller head and headbands are always too large and do not stay put. This one stayed on my head and kept sweat and flyaway hairs out of my face. I went back and bought more (from REI... cheaper there if you have one close by). prAna Women's Headband, Brown, One Size
This is definitely a wide, thick headband, but it's really nice, soft, and lightweight, and it also has a nice amount of stretch to it that keeps it in place. The width of it is nice in that it keeps your bangs off your forehead while working out; with thinner headbands, I've found that I still need to clip my bangs back since they tend to flop in my face. If you dislike hair in your face while exercising, you'll like this!
awesome headband, super big and stays in place. keeps all the hair out of my eyes and that's all dandy. i do bikram yoga and my intention was to wear these during class to keep the hair and sweat out of my face. like i said it keeps the hair out, but the sweat not so much. but i sweat a lot. and bikram yoga is 100+ degrees. unfortunately i can't keep this on my head, i simply just get too hot. my head overheats and i have to rip it off. so maybe i'm just not someone who should wear a headband in yoga. but nevertheless, good headband, probably better for non heated types of yoga/physical activity.
I've been living in these for about the past year. Super comfy and good quality. They take a bad hair day and make it into a good one. I also like that they have the prAna icon on them - jazzes them up a bit. I've started to stick mine in the dryer and they have still held up.
I purchased this product for my wife because her ears hurt from the wind when we run, especially once it gets colder. Anyway, she puts this thing on now and has absolutely no problems! I am extremely happy with this product, and so is she. It's light, durable, and works in every way you could want it. Definitely buy this item!
I have short hair and can never find headbands that will both keep the strands away from my face and the shorter hairs off the back of my neck. This is perfect! I have used it while running and it has definitely stayed in place. I can't wait to get more.'

High Quality Suit - darya trading, made in italy 2 button suit
I ordered this item with star-struck eyes and great expectations. To my satisfaction, I found this suit to be made of pretty fine material. I love the pick-stitching, double vents, single breast, two-buttoned, peak-lappells, and functioning button holes. HOWEVER, unfortunately, the shoulders are ENTIRELY too wide and armholes too low. The material seems a bit heavy/thick. I look like a big triangle when I wear it! lol. Buyer be wear of your size, and have a good talk with a knowledgable seamstress/tailor before and after purchase; but especialy after. To my grave dissapointment, the cost of altering exceeds the cost of the suit if I want it to fit propperly. As another customer has said; you truly get what you pay for. It's still a pretty nice suit, and I will wear it every now and then. Oh, and the sleeves are too long, and I cant get them altered b/c of the functioning button-wholes. Gino Valentino Peak Lapel Ticket Pocket Suit Made in Italy Shiny Wool / Silk Mens Suit 150's Hand Made Two Button Canvas Front Jacket Modern Flat Front Pants Custom Working Buttonholes Business Suit Gray Faint Herringbone (42 Regular)
Overall the suit was very well made and material was of very high quality.
The color looked darker than shown.
I have an unusual body shape which requires athletic cut / slim fit type suits (broader shoulders and trim waist) as a starting point for the tailor to work from.
This suit just did not seem to be an athletic cut so sent it back - the fit was not even close for me (but I am unusual).
If it was a better fit - would have kept it. Might work for you if you have more of a normal shape.
I previously purchased Nicoletti brand, 3 button suit which was good quality and better fit for me.
Seller (Darya Trading) accepted the return promptly & without any fuss for $5 handling fee (had to pay return postage).
I absolutely love my new suit. Darya was amazing to deal with. I accidentally ordered the wrong size and they were so good to get me the right size right away.
The suit is great. LOVE the pants. They fit so nicely. I have broad shoulders, and the jacket fits very nicely. Wore the suit to church yesterday and I had at least three other guys ask me where I got it.
Paired with a nice new tie, you'll feel like a million bucks!
Can you tell I like the suit?
I love the suit. I also have the brown one. These suits are made very well and mine fits great. Keep is mind that they are off the rack suits and it is impossible for them to fit everyone perfectly. If you want prefect fit, you must go to a tailor and get a suit made just for you. Anyone who complains about the fit, would have the same problem if they went into a store and bought one. These suits are a great value. When I wear mine, I am pretty sure that I will have one of the nicer suit where ever I go. - Darya Trading - Made In Italy 2 Button Suit - Valentino Made In Italy - High Quality Suit'

3-way Splitter
Unlike most 3-way splitters, this one distributes the signal evenly, each of the three outputs losing 5.7db from the original input signal. Most 3-way splitters are actually two 2-way splitters in the same enclosure. Each time the video signal is split, the resulting two outputs are down 3.5db in strength. So a 3-way splitter is split the first time, with one outlet labeled "-3.5 db" and the other signal sent to a second internal splitter, where it is split once again, resulting in the other two outputs labeled "-7 db".
Whether the "printed circuit board" in the Monster splitter is the reason they claim to distribute the three outputs evenly, I don't know. Whether this is important enough to spend the extra money on the Monster splitter is up to the purchaser.
When using the standard type 3-way splitter, connect the most critical connection to the "-3.5 db" output. This is usually a digital signal. The less critical connections connect to the "-7 db" outputs. Monster Standard RF Splitters For CATV Signals MKII - 3 Way RF Splitter
I replaced an old two way splitter with this one to add another connection and the 3 TV signals are very clear! I would recommend this splitter to anybody wanting to add more connections or replace their current splitter.
Not sure if it does split all 3 equally but i hooked it up to a tv, digital cable box, and a cable modem and no problems
better than my old one and i took someones advice to make all connections tight with a wrench not sure if it works better but im sure it won't come loose'

Skeleton Watch
I purchased this watch a little over a month ago. Having recently graduated from college, I wanted a watch that was more sophisticated than what I had been wearing. Needless to say, when I came upon Stuhrling Original, I was nothing short of impressed. I fell in love with the watch when I saw it online. After researching and reading as many reviews as I could find, I knew I had to see what this watch and this company were all about.
First of all, when you receive the watch, it is packaged exquisitely. It is a joy to open the case and see everything that is contained inside. It is immediately evident the care and precision that goes into the packaging and know that the watch will have been built with even more care. The watch is even more stunning in person than the photos allow you to see. It is a sturdy watch with nice weight to it. I can really feel that I am wearing something of notoriety when I wear this watch. When I first put the watch on, the band was quite stiff but it has become very soft and comfortable over time. Do not be discouraged if when you first put the watch on it is uncomfortable. In a short time, it will feel great.
Overall, I am very pleased with this timepiece. In the future, as I look for more watches, I will undoubtedly look at Stuhrling Original first. Stuhrling Original Men's 150A.33152 Special Reserve 'Symphony Maestro II' Multi-Function Skeleton Watch
I've had this watch for several months now, and when I first wore the watch, I was quite happy with it. The watch itself is gorgeous. In the Amazon.com picture, the hands of the watch face are a brighter blue than in more usual lighting. It's more of a dark navy, nearly black appearance that takes on a brighter blue in brighter light. I really liked that. I also love the skeleton watch look to it, though it's easier to see moving gears through the rear of the watch (which you wouldn't be able to see if you were wearing the watch). The band, though initially firm, softened quickly and fit my wrist easily (I would say I have average to slightly slimmer than average wrists). The watch is heavier than what I'm used to but not too heavy by any means. The crystal on the front has durably resisted nicks and scrapes despite my having banged the watch accidentally against door jams or counter edges.
So, why not a five star rating? Well, the watch is supposed to be self winding, and it does work. However, I have had instances in which the time is off (slow) presumably because I didn't move the watch around enough to keep it wound. I guess if you have an automatic watch winder (which I don't), this wouldn't be an issue. So, I started winding my watch a couple of turns in the morning to avoid inaccurate time. I found that by doing this, the time was off agin, but now it was too far ahead! For the most part, it keeps time just fine, but it's a bit irritating to me that it's so imprecise, and I have to worry if the time is correct. After all, I wear a watch mainly to know the time exactly -- not approximately!
Nevertheless, it's a beautiful watch, the first that I've owned that wasn't a $20 cheapie watch. It does keep time just fine for the most part, but I hate to say it -- the cheapie watches I've had in the past kept better time.
This is an excellent time piece. I love the look and it is also very well crafted. My only gripe and I assume this is the case with all automatic watches is sometimes the time is off. Other than that I love the watch
I have been wearing this watch for just about a year now. I am now facing the second repair I need to make to this piece. It is an attractive piece, but I need a watch that I can actually wear and rely upon. The first problem I had was that the crystal was letting moisture in somehow, and the watch was building up condensation, making the dial indiscernible. In addition, the self-winding mechanism was getting hung up frequently. I sent the watch back, and they did repair it under warranty, although I did have to pay a $20 fee and shipping for the watch. After six weeks, the watch came back. I wore it for three weeks, and the crown came off. This is unacceptable. The only thing they will do is repair the watch and waive the $20. However, I still have to pay the shipping and insurance, as well as having to wait another six weeks before I will know what time it is.
Who needs Swiss assembly?
Not me, not when I can get a hard-to-find skeleton automatic watch with day/date and 24-hour complications at this kind of a price!
This is as impressive a watch as other customers have claimed. The second hand moves smoothly, and the watch is entirely silent (no ticking noise, as on mechanical watches of yesteryear).
Purchasers should note that you must advance the month register manually at the first of the month using the stylus provided. Otherwise the day and date functions are automatic.
The Stuhrling also keeps excellent time for a mechanical watch.
The leather band is a bit stiff when you first wear it, but I am confident that it will soften with time. The leather appears to be of fine quality, and the band is quite wide.
In all, this appears to be a splendid automatic watch with useful complications, and it offers excellent value for the money. Highly recommended.
I recently returned this watch for two reasons:
1. I have small wrists and when clasping the leather band closed, the leather cracked.
2. For a lesser reason (I suppose my ignorance also!) the watch is listed as automatic, which it is, but since I sit at a desk most of the day it does not get "wound' a lot. Therefore sometimes when I would put in on in the morning it would be "dead" and you have to spin it around to get it going again; then you have to reset all the settings.
While I had the watch I did receive several compliments on it and I do think it is attractive, but it wasn't meant for me and my lifestyle.'
