Handsome Tuxedo - boys tie, toddler suit
I ordered an upper-teen size of this suit to have for special outings. Because I ended up wasting time checking for something local, I ended up ordering this last minute. Amazingly, it was received two days after my order went through! (I used the standard priority shipping option because the pricing on expedited was way out of my ballpark.)
For the price and for the age of person intended, this suit is perfect. I had to compromise on sizing a bit: the jacket is a little large, but I expected that from their size chart (had to get the jacket big in order for the pants to fit). At least for the size I ordered, their measurement chart is correct and it fits just as I was expecting.
The shirt is a thin, cheaper-quality basic white button-up shirt. But I am fine with that since it is summer, and light-weight is fine. The other suit items are heavier polyester and they feel nice to the touch and look smart. The vest is a short-fitting style. The tie has a release clip in the back for easy on/off (no need to know how to tie a tie) and adjustable length to the neck band. The whole suit comes nicely clipped to a hanger inside a zippered clear dress bag (nice bonus).
I know I couldn't find anything comparable to this locally for the price I paid here. Between that and the super fast shipping, I am very pleased and he's excited to wear it. Formal Boy Black Suit From Baby to Teen (4T)
I purchased this suit for my grandson to wear to a wedding. When he saw the suit he immediately said we go party! As for the suit it is a great value, comes complete with shirt and tie, just added shoes and he was ready to party. Price and shipping were right on target so was the size. I would buy from this merchant again should the need arise. - Poor Quality - Boy - Boys Tie - Toddler Suit'

Hand Crank Coffee Grinder - manual coffee grinder, conical burr
Ridiculous! I've received three of these grinders, and all were broken. The first: the box was undamaged, but the grinder had clearly been dropped with a huge crack, and packaged like that. The second: the crank wouldn't come off or budge. My boyfriend and I spent a week fiddling with it to no avail. The third appeared okay upon arrival, but within a week of use, the threading wore out and it just dropped out whole beans! And oh boy, a brand new coffee grinder breaking in the middle of a work week in the wilderness is just bad news.
The instructions are laughable. There are no words. Sure, most people can figure it out without them, but old people still exist and I found myself wondering if I was doing something wrong when the crank wouldn't budge.
And GSI, whose "real person" customer service they boast on their website, never answered my email/questions.
I don't know what the deal with this product is, but they need to get it together. GSI Outdoors JavaGrind
Pros:
*Sturdy.
*Great for carrying beans in for travel. (Hand crank flips to sit tight against the top and locks in place when you turn it to the correct position and rotate the black handle - very clever design but a trick to figure out at first.)
*I have no trouble holding it in the air and grinding it over a dish of icecream. Most hands will fit under the turning crank, if you flip the crank over before trying to grind (The product comes packaged with the crank upside down, and it would be rather hard to use the product if you didn't think to flip the crank first!)
Cons:
*Does not come with instructions, except what is on the side of the box. (STUDY THE BOX!!!)
*The top is slightly flexible in the up and down direction, which means the beans will not grind to an even size when grinding coarsely (as for a french press). I can see how someone serious about their coffee could be bothered by this, but it is not a big problem for me. I wanted a cheap grinder, and this works well enough.
*Probably not recommended by the Arthritis Foundation. :-)
Additional notes:
*Only the outside is layered - the inside is a smooth funnel.
*I bought this for use with the 10oz GSI Javapress. The screen in the pour-spout of the Javapress makes it very very very slow to pour without lifting the top out. This may be because not all of the grinds come out coarse, and some finer ones plug the screen.
I've been using the GSI JavaGrind at home now for almost two years. It's a sturdy little machine, takes very little storage space (I live in a tiny studio apartment), and requires no electricity. It's an ingenious, compact design. I also LIKE the idea of hand grinding my own coffee. The coarseness of the grind is easily adjusted using the wingnut on top; a few uses and you can pretty accurately gauge it. For those who had a problem removing or replacing the handle, do make sure the square edges of the shaft the handle fits onto are aligned with the square edges of the wingnut, or the handle will stick.
The only drawback I've found is that the rubberized coating over the black plastic parts rubs off in an unpleasant way with extended use. If GSI fixes that, they'll have a much better product. Bottom line, is the JavaGrind well designed and a great deal for under $20? Yes. Would I buy another? YES!
The concept is good but the execution is horrible, the grinder is designed in such a way that it is nearly impossible to hold.
save your money on this one and get a Hario Skerton grinder. if using it for camping leave the glass base at home and grind into your press
Value for money spent: this grinder can't be beat. Perfect grinder? Not by a long shot. I use it for my french press, though, and it works just fine. The grind isn't extremely consistant, so I wouldn't recommend it for something like espresso where a fine, consistant grind is needed. But a course grind needed for the french press, or the medium grind needed for a drip coffee maker, is handled well by this grinder. And that's what I expected from this price range.
My biggest complaint with this grinder is its durability. After only a week, the black part of the handle had broken off. It still grinds fine, but this definitely makes it tougher. And for a company that makes camping products (and claims this would be a good camping/travel grinder) I expected better quality. Also, after only using it 30-40 times, it appears that the burrs are wearing out, resulting in even less consistency in the grind. This is the biggest problem, since if these wear out it is basically useless to me.
Overall, though, it's a decent grinder for a great price. For under $20, this is hard to beat.
Embarrassingly bad design:
First, and most critically, the grinder is impossible to hold steady while grinding, even with two people: one holding/one grinding. There is simply nothing to hold on to. You cannot hold between your legs like other grinders. It jumps all around, causing the grinding motion to to jerky, and halting, taking forever to make any progress.
Also, the one and only bearing for the burr is on the top- not ideal, but almost all small grinders share this flaw, HOWEVER since the bearing point is in the thin plastic top, it moves in and out while you grind because the grinding motion is pushing down/over on the top, warping it, and changing the relationship between the inner and outer burr, causing grind inconsistency.
Bottom line: Most affordable hand grinder available. Would be overpriced if they were giving them away. Avoid.
I really wanted to like this product and I really want to find a way to fix it. It broke the second time I used it. The weld between the shaft and the nut failed so I am unable to grind any coffee. I had already thrown away the packaging so I didn't try to return it. - Burr Grinder - Gsi - Conical Burr - Manual Coffee Grinder'

Outdoor Fireplace
This is a great outdoor fire pit for the price. Sometimes Walmart has it cheaper and sometimes Amazon does. It is worth checking them both as they both ship directly from Blue Rhino to your home. Also, the same fire pit is sold under the names Blue Rhino and UniFlame.
Once it is put together it is very sturdy and easy to use. The fire puts out a lot of heat and flame. The mantel is a nice size leaving plenty of room for drinks, plates, bottles, feet, etc. The lava rocks and fake logs looked a lot better than I thought they would. Overall it is a beautiful fire pit.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
(many of these are mentioned in other reviews, but they will save you a lot of hassle and time)
TIME: It says 1 hour but plan on 2 hours. Only a person who had put together about 5 of these perviously would be able to do it in an hour.
LOCATION: Plan to build it close to where you are going to use it as it is heavy to move once built. It can be easily moved by two strong people, but it would be hard for one person to move it any distance.
CARDBOARD: The is one large flat square piece of cardboard that is in the box with the top. Save this piece and use it to lay on the ground while building. Most of the building you will do with the top upside down and having this underneath will protect it from scratches and make it easy to slide around if needed.
INSTRUCTIONS: The instructions are good, but are mainly just pictures. There is very little detail provided. So you MUST carefully examine each picture as you build it, noting the number of holes on top versus the bottom, the direction of pieces and the exact screw needed. It is very easy to start putting a piece together to only realize that you messed up and need to take it a part and re-do it.
SCREW PACKAGE: A nice screw package is provided labeling each group of screws A,B,C, etc so you know which ones to use where. DOUBLE CHECK the labeling. On my package the A screws were labeled B and vice versa. I ended up using the allen screws where I was suppose to use the philips head screws and I ended up having to re-do the first couple of steps. Verify on the picture whether they want you to use the allen screws or philips head screws. Basically you will use the allen screws to attach the sides to the top, and you will use the philips head screws for everything else.
SCREW TIGHTENING: Almost every review mentions this advice and it is very important. When attaching a section together, first partially screw the screws in and once it is al attached, THEN tighten them down. The holes often do not line up perfectly and you will need a little "play" to line them up before tightening. The MOST IMPORTANT time to follow this is when you attach the sides to the top. DO NOT TIGHTEN all of the allen screws which are used to attach the sides to the top until you have ALL of the sides partially screwed in... then tighten everything down. If you don't follow this you will not be able to get all of the screws to match up to the holes. Also, on some pieces I found it useful to have a pair of pliers or hammer to bend some of the pieces a little so that the holes line up.
TANK COVER: A nice black vinyl tank cover is provided. It is easiest to put this on from the bottom upward and not from the top down.
TANK HOSE: I found it easiest to attach the hose to the tank and then rotate the tank clockwise a bit to tighten the hose up. This enables the hose to wrap closely around the tank and thus make it fit so that the door closes easily.
FIRE PIT COVER: A nice fitting cover is provided for the fire pit and even includes a little extra room at top to allow for the fake logs. This cover is a very thin and cheap vinyl. Be very careful when you put it on (especially if it is cold) as it will tear VERY EASILY at the corners. I would recommend turning the cover inside-out and reinforcing the edges and corners with duct tape first. Then use the cover as normal with the tape on the inside protecting the edges and corners. If you don't do this you will eventually tear the cover.
STARTING THE FIRE: Many have noted this as well, but it is easy to overlook. It does NOT start the same as a typical gas grill. To start the fire turn the knob to the start position and HOLD IT IN. While holding it in, press the electric starter. You must keep holding it in until it lights up (this can take a few seconds) and then you will need to KEEP HOLDING IT IN until the fire gets going. If you let go too soon it will just go out.
WINE: Don't keep a bottle of wine on the table top for very long as it will heat it up pretty fast if the fire is going...and who likes warm wine..ugh.
Overall this is an awesome product at a great price. The shipping was very fast (only a few days) and the item came in one large box. If you are patient and follow the above directions (or have a friend/relative who is) you will have it built and be using it to warm yourself in no time at all. Blue Rhino GAD860SP LP Gas Outdoor Firebowl with Slate/Marble Mantel
We are very pleased with the Blue Rhino Firebowl. It looks great and provides a beautiful glow to our evenings on the patio. The slate tabletop is wide and allows plenty of room for plates, glasses, or for putting your feet up. Be sure to assemble this product near to where you are going to use it because it weighs 150+ pounds. You don't want to have to move it too far after assembly. We were pleased to see that they included a black vinyl cover that slips over the butane tank. This makes it virtually invisible when the tank is enclosed under the tabletop. Likewise, the square cover that fits over the entire table top was very effective in keeping the table and firebowl dry during the recent rains. Great product.
This is an great firepit for the price. There is some assembly required but it is pretty straight forward and only a few simple tools required. The table is very sturdy and appears that it will last for many years to come. Takes a standard 5 gallon propane tank which is a little tight to fit into its storage space, but can be done (hint: turn valve towards the fire pit as you place it into the storage location). [...]'

Hard Drive Enclosure - usb drive, drive enclosures
This product is good if you are in a jam where you just need to save a hard drive. It is not a long term solution to keep the hard drive in the enclosure due to it being very cheaply made.
Pros:
Included is the aluminum enclosure, a USB cable with an extra end in case you still have USB 1.1, a mini screw driver to secure one end, and a little slip case for the enclosure.
Cons:
The USB adapter on the drive is mounted in crooked, so when you plug in the USB cable, it comes out crooked. If you are looking to buy this you have at least a mild understanding of computers so you won't need the manual, but read it for fun. There are spelling mistakes, it references two lights on the enclosure when there is just one, and it also references a CD-ROM with drivers on it that is not included, even though you don't need the disc.
I saw another review saying it doesn't have a fan. It does not need a fan because the drive is against the aluminum case, which acts as a passive heater which is completely adequate.
This enclosure is a quick fix to recover some data. I would not keep a valuable drive in this. USB 2.0 External 2.5" IDE HDD Enclosure Case Blue For Laptop
I recently bought this Hard Drive case after using one at work and I got one just in time. My laptop motherboard blew up and i had no way of getting the files from my hard drive back. So i removed the hard drive plugged it in the case and plugged the case into my desktop and almost instantly the hard rive popped up allowing me to copy over my files that I thought where gone forever. This truly is a life saver!
This is a very good product it may seem cheap but it does what it needs to.
I had no issues getting it to work just plugged it in and it worked just fine. It comes with all you need to install hard drive.
Here are the pros
1. cheap
2. slim
3. made of aluminum to help get rid of heat
4. works with Macs and windows
I would have a con list but I can think of any
This is exactly the same car that is sold under the Sabrent name and it's 1/3 the price of that one.
Not a bad damn deal!!!
XP and up don't need to install anything, just toss the disk that it comes with, it's meant for windows 98 and older. These devices are set to USB standards for 2.0 and it's all just plug and play. Before closing the case up and putting the screws in just go ahead and start it up and make sure that your drive is accessible. It it's not just move the jumper until you figure out the right setting for it.
Just make sure that you have the 2.5" drive set to either master or single (the jumper setting, normally single is without a jumper).
Also be careful with the screws for the top of the case they will strip out easily if you try to TIGHTEN them too much.
After my second hand laptop failed I salvaged the 40Gb hard drive and ordered this enclosure. It works great for me and was very easy to install. Fits perfectly to 2.5" laptop hard drives; 1 connection to the front panel and 2 screws - very simple design.
Some reviews complain about ventilation for overheating, but I can only see it getting hot if you use it for a long period of time transferring large files across a USB 1.0 connection. Most of the time its quite cool idle on USB 2.0.
The package comes with a screwdriver to install the screws, a 'Y-cable' for additional devices to connect to the same USB port (which I've never used), a black cloth cover for the case and the external case (silver).
Works great!
This enclosure is an excellent value. Performance has been trouble-free, and it worked right out of the box - no problems whatsoever. After I added my laptop drive (perfect fit) and connected it to two of my USB ports (one for power, one for data), it was recognized immediately by my Windows XP computer. It has a slim lightweight compact profile which works well for travel, and has a very tight USB connection. I would highly recommend this enclosure over more expensive enclosures offered by others.
bought product and it arrived 2 days later. seller was quick, price was amazing. 2 weeks later after using the enclosure half a dozen times the front part of the case where the drive plugs in came apart. the plastic end came unglued from the board. looking at it i noticed it's only held in place by 2 dabs of glue. now it won't stay back on, even tried gluing it back with super glue but the amount of force needed to pull the drive out is too much even for that since the glue just touches the edge of the pcb board.
i decided i needed a firewire enclosure too so i had already bought another one last week before this came apart on me tonight. like i said, seller was great but the product...well, you get what you pay for. not worth an RMA either as i paid $5.66 for the enclosure and $5.49 shipping. would cost another $5.49 to ship it back for a new one.
This thing is really as simple and easy as it gets, and actually does more than most people need. My primary hobby used to be computers, and even though I've moved on to different things, I still help people with their computers if need be.
As long as you're careful to ground yourself (so that static electricity doesn't kill your hard drive), you don't even need the enclosure (though don't keep the hard drive exposed for too long). This makes it quick and easy to test drives or use old and oversized laptop hard drives, or hard drives with built in heatsinks etc. (This is why another reviewer had to file down the tabs)
There was one small hiccup that I ran into, but it was on the software end, not the hardware one. If you buy a new or pre-formatted hard drive to use in this, it may not come up in 'My Computer', even though the computer will report that everything is working alright. What you need to do is to go to Device Manager -> Disk Drives -> ::Your harddrive:: Properties and under the Volumes tab, click Populate. Finally, right click on a link for 'My Computer' and click 'Manage'. This should bring up Computer Management. Under 'Disk Management' on the left, find your drive and right click and select 'Add new partition'. After that, follow the brief wizard to format it appropriately (I recommend NTFS unless you really know what you're doing).
Let the formatting run - you can do this all through this enclosure, unlike some where you have to get an adapter and plug in the hdd internally. Once it's done it should pop right up in My Computer ready to use.
Other than that, the usb cable doesn't care which direction it goes in, making it pretty fool proof. The manual is relatively useless though - a lot of words got lost in translation, calling different menus by the wrong names etc. - Hd Enclosure - Drive Enclosures - Usb Drive - Cheap'

Cheap Kindle Books - free, kindle freebie
I have to admit that i was skeptical in buying this book. I bought it because it was only 99 cents, and expected that I would not get my money's worth out of it. Clearly, I was wrong. I could not believe how many sites for free kindle books were listed. This is a very informative book that helped me enlarge my kindle library. Free Kindle Books and How to Find Them
My sister showed me this book over Thanksgiving on her Kindle, and I studied it for a long time researching the various place to find free Kindle books so I decided to get my own copy. For the price, I think this is worth every penny and then some! It actually seems to point you to well over a million free books if you had the time to read that many in your lifetime. In addition to telling you specifically how to find the free books on the Amazon website, it points you to 20 other places with a description of the content and format of each one. Now that's useful information to me! We're in a recession and I am trying to watch every penny so I need something free!
The book also shows you how to transfer the books to your Kindle, which I imagine is helpful to kindle owners - my sister seems to think so but I can not comment as I am using the PC kindle application (can't afford to shell out the bucks for a Kindle in this economy). Now I may have to try out this guy's blog!
Just read the e-book in my kindle and found some really great sites, however it bothers me when sites such as:
1) Baen, who has a great fantasy/sf collection claims to have prc files compatible with kndle, and when you transfer to the device it only registers the title and not the author's name (which makes it impossible to order by author)
2) Open Library, which also has a very complete collection, but some of the works from aldous huxley in mobi file had lots of errors showing some bugs in the files made available (even if they are made available for free)
3) World Library and Bookyards, with great titles but only pdf which even if converted by kindle still is difficult to read and appears wrongly catalogued making it impossible to do a good sorting job by author
However it's nice to find some other great sites.
Granted there are many good resources listed in the book, but nothing you couldn't find via Google. Also some of the sites listed had already changed their URL's. OK. This is not the author's fault, but it does reinforce the fact that Google is better than this book. If you hate using a search engine, then this is the book for you, otherwise just search for free ebooks yourself.
Free Kindle Books and How to Find Them.. revised.
Revised or not, you can get the same info from Amazon by doing a search on Amazon..
Search: Kindle Store ; Free
Then Click on "Free Book Collection"
There's a whole page/pages dedicated to free e-books and other sites that are compatible with Kindle. A whole list of them...
And yes, I find that rather ironic.. a book titled Free Kindle Books and How to Find Them and charging for it. LOL
Anyway, save your money.. just do a search. Amazon provides most of the info.
People, please don't waste your money on this book (currently costing three dollars). It's easy to find free books that you can read on your Kindle: use Google, Bing, Yahoo, or any search engine of your choice and search for "free ebooks". Project Gutenberg at Gutenberg.org has a ton of classics available for your immediate consumption.
Save your money for a pack of gum! This 'book' will only provide you with links to other services that you may purchase memberships to in order to download free e-books. These memberships give you lists of books that you could find on your own with a little research via google or yahoo. If you are looking for the classics (for free) Amazon has them in abundance.
I'm surprised Amazon has not pulled this sham of a book from their listings!
Maybe I am just naïve, but I was expecting a little more out of this than a handful of sites for free classics. Gosh, I can just search on here for free classic literature. As much as I enjoy some classic literature, I was hoping to get some better information on books newer than 1800s. Keep your $$ and go to Google or Amazon and type in "free Kindle books" (something I should have done before purchasing this for $0.99)... you will find more items than the stupid sites the author lists and be able to keep your money too (which he advocates in the book, yet, I spent money... on... his... book... *sigh*). I found more on Amazon's site by typing in free kindle books or some other phrase than all his sites combined (I went to several of them already and wasted lots of time). Good luck! - Kindle - Kindle Book - Kindle Freebie - Free'

Ps3 Charger - charger, playstation 3
Since I recently bought the PS3 Move peripherals, I decided to finally look into buying a controller charging dock.
This particular dock suits my needs for the following reasons:
- I have two Sixaxis contollers, two motion controllers, and one navigation controller (not planning on buying a second navigation controller anytime soon)
- I can keep my second motion controller plugged into one rear USB port, and my Bluetooth earpiece plugged into the other rear USB port.
- I can now use the PS3's two USB ports for the PS Eye and an external USB hard drive, and no longer have to plug/unplug USB cables to recharge various controllers or the earpiece.
Some of the minor problems I've encountered:
- There's a blue LED light on one of the long sides of the charging dock that is angled around 45* out... and can be a bit annoying depending on where you're sitting in relation to it.
- The Sixaxis controllers may take a moment or two of fumbling with before you line it up properly on the charger.
And just so everyone knows, it is true that you can't place a motion control where the navigation control is supposed to go. PS3 Move Quad Dock Pro
I usually don't write reviews, but this time I strongly believe it deserve a strong review. I purchased the Quad Dock Pro from Amazon via DreamGear about 3 weeks ago. The first 2 weeks perfectly fine and charging. last week my controllers were dead for no reasons. I realized quickly that the unit was not charging. I did plug my controllers via USB to my PS3 to make sure it was not the controllers and it was fine and charging. The main light around the unit still works but the lights around the move controllers and the DualShock are not anymore. I called the company "got disconnected". I emailed them "No response". So I don't have much choices here. I will try a few time more to contact them and if no answer I will purchase the SONY charger for the move controllers and go back to my USB cable to charge the DualShock. I like the idea of a multiple controller charger, but NOT from DreamGear. Please if you are thinking about purchasing this item be aware. Also check some of their other products and you will find in general very low scores, so be careful. I will NOT recommend this product to anyone. Thank you.
I do not own the navigator yet since there is not currently a good enough reason to buy it. So for now the navigator charging spot sits empty and my second move controller has to sit in the back attached to the USB cable. This is a minor nuisance. I would have preferred a second move controller spot, but maybe I'll be less disappointed when I finally buy the navigator.
The charger itself works fine. I expected to see very rapid charge times for the controllers but I can't really tell any difference. If your controller charge is low, it's still going to take a while to charge it up. The controllers do fit securely into the spots, though.
The item seemed a lot smaller than I pictured when I opened it up. And a lot lighter. I thought there would be a decent amount of weight on it for extra support, but it feels essentially hollow on the inside. This worried me a bit at first. After putting all the controllers in, though, it doesn't seem like it will be a problem.
I agree with a previous review stating the blue light strip around the base could be annoying, although it is rather cool looking. I ended up placing the unit on a speaker below and to the side of my TV, though, and hardly notice it when it's on. Since I don't need constant charging, I leave it unplugged most of the time anyway. The individual chargers have lights around them that turn from red to blue once they are fully charged. This is especially helpful for the dual shock controllers since they face down and hide the built-in flashing red charging lights.
Overall, I am quite pleased with the purchase.
I need a dock that can charge two Dual Shock controllers and two motion controllers. Unfortunately, this does two Dual Shocks, one motion controller, and one navigation controller. There doesn't seem to be anything out there that can, so I bought this one. (I mean, how hard is it to make two ports for the motion controllers and detachable adapter for a snug fit when you want to do the nav controller?)
The good news is, it has 2 USB ports in the back so that's where my 2nd motion controller goes. It takes a little jiggling to get the Dual Shocks in, but the motion controller slips right in to place. The LED displays are very obvious and bright. ** I suggest that you do not keep the unit plugged in UNLESS you are charging. It is an energy "vampire". ** The manual also suggests that once your controller is charged to take it off charge. Roger that!
Overall, this will do and is much better than having to turn the PS3 on JUST to charge controllers for next time a friend and I want to play.
Edit: Ha, I just read another reviewer talking about this being a "vampire". It's true....an on/off switch would have been nice.
I bought this charging dock thinking that it would be nice to have the ability to charge all my controllers simultaneously, and at the price its a good deal. I was wrong. The dock I recieved would not charge the move controllers whatsoever it worked for 5 minutes then wouldnt charge the Move or Navigation controller at all. It still charges my dualshock 3 just fine but i bought it to charge the move peripherals. The company states that it should charge up to six devices with the included two extra usb ports simultaneously, but it couldnt charge even three controllers for me. I've tried to contact dreamgear with no response yet.
This product works OK, but I have two complaints:
1) They should have designed it to allow more flexibility in what is plugged into each slot. The only options available as it is are exactly what you see in the picture. So those of us with two of the PS3 Move Controllers who don't want a Navigation controller have 3 slots filled and an extra empty slot we can't use while the 2nd Controller stands by waiting for its turn to get charged.
2) The slot for the Controller is not very easy to align, so you have to fumble around with it till it fits in finally. I've had 3 different people using it make the same comment, so I'm comforted somewhat that it's not just my lack of coordination.
Otherwise, it works for what it's made for so if you can get a good price for it, then it's worth having around for some extra charging options. - Playstation 3 - Charger - Playstation Move - Chargers'

Do It Yourself - porter-cable, router
Thought I was getting a deal when I purchased the 1-1/2 hp P-C plunge router set with table. You get what you pay for. No problem with router but the table is VERY sub-standard. The fence adjustment is LOUSY. One wing nut holds each sliding fence and is almost impossible to get it square to the working surface due to the slop in the design. Too much wasted time is spent both aligning the fences to the table and to each other. The lightweight construction (cheap) allows the table to move around quite a bit when running material thru...be sure to clamp/bolt it down before use. The miter slot is rough and the slide is sticky. The only minor positive is the dust chute works adequately when connected to the shop vac. In hindsight, I should have bought the router alone and looked elsewhere for a quality built piece of equipment. Now I'm forced to use it until I can build one that is suitable. Porter-Cable 698 Bench Top Router Table
I am usually a big fan of Porter-Cable products, but this one is a dud. The fence is clumsy and hard to adjust, the miter gauge slot has substantial slop in it, and ridges in the table are rough and sometimes mark work. I bought it as part of a 3 piece kit - the "Ultimate Router Workshop." The cost was less than as a stand alone piece, so I'll probably keep it. If I had purchased it as a stand-alone item, it would be returnsville! If you're serious about owning the PC 1 1/2 hp routers with both bases, purchase them separately and pony up the extra cash for a more refined table. You'll thank yourself later.
This unit is made of light weight materials with inexpensive mechanicals that make it difficult to setup. The fence is hard to use, as it uses a simple L-bracket from the fence to the table with a twist-screw to tighten down - often changing the position as the screw is tightened. Forget using it without seriously clamping the unit down to some solid surface, as there isn't enough mass to hold it in place. This said, once set up, the unit works fine and is very portable.
This router table -- at just over $100 on Amazon -- is an excellent deal for what it is. It is not meant to be an industrial-strength, micrometer-precise piece of equipment; rather, it is for the home workshop and it provides reliable, quality results. All Porter-Cable Routers fit without drilling or adjustments, and my table was assembled and in use in less than 30 minutes.
To address some of the criticism from other reviewers, I can report:
1) The fence adjustment works very well if you line up the infeed and outfeed fences with a straightedge or piece of stock according to the instructions, based on the type of cut you are making. It is a manual process but it's quick and the result and reliability are excellent.
2) The squareness of the fence to the table normally is critical only when running a piece of stock through the table "on edge" -- not flat. My fence is very close to square (<1 degree off), and if I really need the precision, I can compensate by adjusting the fence or temporarily applying a new fence surface, followed by doing some test cuts (which I do anyway). 95% of the time I run work through "flat," so this is not an issue.
3) Yes, the instruction manual directs the user to firmly secure the router table assembly to a workbench or other surface because if you don't, the whole table may move dangerously from vibration or when feeding work into it. This is not a valid complaint because the instruction manual addresses it, and all router tables and stationary power tools should be firmly secured to the surface/stand/base on which they rest.
4) The insert rings should not be able to vibrate out if the fences and guard assembly are correctly positioned. At all times that I have used the machine, the fences and/or the cutter guard are covering parts of the insert, preventing it from popping up. When the guard is raised over the workpiece, the workpiece itself covers the insert ring, further preventing its movement. It is a fair criticism only if the fences and guard assembly have been totally removed from the table, which is risky in itself and rarely should be required (shaping inside curves with a piloted bit is one example I can think of).
5) My table was a little rough and the grooves had some sharp edges. I ran some 320 grit sandpaper over the surface of the table and spent 5 minutes hitting the edges of all the grooves, and now it's all good.
If you're hesitant about this router table, you should probably plan to spend at least twice as much to get a table that will offer noticeably more heft and precision. However, this is an excellent product for what it is, and as far as I can tell, it will provide many years of versatile use with my favorite power tool.
As a hobby woodcrafter, I find this table quite adequate for my needs. I've seen the high priced/high quality tables and I'm clear this is not in that league, but for what it is designed for, it does very well.I only have a couple of complaints, but most of them have been worked out so that they aren't an issue.1st, the table casting was rough, so I filed the burrs smooth.2nd, the table top doesn't appear to be totally rectangular, though the infeed and outfeed sides are parallel and that's all I care about.3rd, you only get two insert rings. It would be nice to have at least three.4th, the insert rings don't sit flush to the table, they are a tad short. This only causes a problem with very short work pieces and larger bits. That's about it for complaints. At first I thought the dual fences were a bit fiddly, but I got used to it quickly and can set it up fairly fast.I haven't had a problem getting the fences to lock square to the table. I find using a large rafter triangle really helps speed this process up.I really like the switch located on the outside of the leg as well, that's way nicer than having to reach under every time!My miter gauge and slot seem to work just fine and are square to the fences.Overall a great little hobby table, but probably not to useful for any real production work. - Router - Router Table - Porter-cable - Routers'

Overall, the material is fine, thick enough for good duration.
Still, you'll need to order 1 size up for the pants. Otherwise, you will only be able to stand and walk with it, OR sit, squat, ride your bicycle with showing a little bit of the ass to the public. I am 6'0" and 200 lbs, and I ordered an XL, and it is way too small. The straps on the overalls aren't long enough, which is ridiculous, because that's the last place you would think there would be a problem. But since it's so cheap, I'm just keeping it and let my wife have it. My advice: Keep looking.
We ordered this set in size 4x. My husband varies between a 1x and 2x in clothing, and we purchased this larger size to hopefully give him a bit more leeway. He tried on the 4x when it arrived. Not only were the overalls skin tight, the straps on the overalls were approximately 6 inches too short! Either our set was mislabeled at the factory, or this set runs so small, it might be best to order 3,4 sizes larger. We returned this set and are trying another brand. Might be best to consider your options if you're looking at this one. Although the set appears to good quality, it's too tiny!
I purchased this gear for my son who is a commercial fisherman. I made sure I bought the thickest one available from this company. Total junk. The bib overalls RIPPED day one and the suspenders are *extremely* flimsy. If you plan on buying this, know that the sizes are VERY wonky. My son is 5'10 and a 36" waist. I bought him a 4X because of all the reviews that mentioned size. It just fit! Don't waste your money on this brand at all!! - Wet Weather Coat - Rainsuit - Rain Pants - Rain Coat'
