Folding Knife - folding knives, solo
I got this knife for my groomsman's as a supplement to the other gift I got them. It was small, but was quality and nice looking. I have other knives made my buck and they all feel like the weight is evenly distributed. All of their knives are great value and the solo is no exception. Buck 379BRS Solo Folding Pocket Knife
Ok I have two of these. One I use and one just to have as a collectable. I am sad to say yeah the new blades are stamped china. Apart from that you will never find a better knife per dollar spent. These are great size for anything, whittling, fishing, opening packages, cleaning finger nails, stripping wires, cleaning game. My solo has cleaned a couple deers, and a couple rabbits. It is also my go to knife for cutting fishing line. I use it hard. The knife is beautiful. The wood handles vary slightly in shade, one of mine is very dark almost walnut looking the other is very red. But all are polished with brass rivets, and the buck logo stamped into it. The knife is pretty, but it is also strong. Good lock up, easy opening. Very smooth action on these. They don't manual lock, so it's pressure release, warn the kids not to try and stab it in anything like a killer or they will learn a lesson through cut fingers. The blades are tough, not prybars, but sturdy for the small size. They come razor sharp, they keep an edge pretty long, but re sharpen in a snap, a couple passes through a sharpener and back to razor sharp. They can clean a rabbit in one sharpening but about half dull by the end. Two passes through any cheap knife sharpener and it's razor sharp again. Great for fishing line, razor sharp so they can snip a line with a touch. I have put scrathes and nickes into the blade. The nicks sharpen adding a semi serated effects to the blade. Now I did this damage cutting a broken leg bone of a deer, right into the bone. It made it through the entire thing. But it all adds character to this kind of knife. This is the kind dad carried. When we were punks carrying some pointless attack style daggers that we never used, and when we did to cut kindling or something they broke. These aren't those, these are the grown up knives we earned. We find a small knife is perfect for stripping small wires, cutting packages open, cleaning our nails, cleaning the gaps on the plugs, cutting an end of a stick to roast hot dogs, we find out how this cleans and skins our game when we hunt. This isn't attitude, this is wisdom. This knife is on my list of three things I'd want with me if I got stranded in the woods. So what I am saying is I love this knife, it's not anything special, it's just a knife. But I went through many many knives until I got mine. I'd carry one for a while, then move on, but then this little pocket fitting guy was my knife, the knife I was going to marry, it was my pocket knife for life, the one my kids would get when I die, the one if I lost I'd never be able to replace. I really like mine, I'd suggest trying a buck today. I have hundreds of stories connected with mine its more than a knife, it's a best friend.
As soon as I opened the box and viewed the knife, I was very impressed. Very well built and sturdy. Made of very high quality! This knife should last a lifetime. I am impressed with how well it feels in my hand, for a small knife, it feels like a larger knife.
This is actually my first Buck. I have a handful of tactical blades, and wanted a real classic one to carry for special occasions or when i dress up. I think it's a little small for my EDC needs, but the slim blade makes it good for opening mail and packages. It is RAZOR sharp out of the box, which brings me to my next point. This is a non-locking blade, and a few days ago, it snapped shut on my finger while i was using it. Took a nice deli slice out of the tip of my finger. Really made me respect just how sharp this little knife really is. That being said, i know i was probably being an idiot, but i just prefer a locking blade. As such, this knife will probably sit on my desk and assume letter opener duty.
All in all, this is definitely a handsome, high quality knife at this price point, even if it is MADE IN CHINA. - Solo - Folding Knife - Folding Knives - Buck'

I have some of these songs from when the CD "The Bottle Let Me Down" was released back in 2002. It has long been a favorite of both my kids and myself. The new additions look to be as much fun as the previous ones. As I write this, the sampler is free so try it out. If you like it, come back and pick up "Bottle" for even more fun. Wireless N - wireless n, router
I'm no tech savvy guy
Bought this on the advice of my son-in-law who is a network security analyst for the Air Force. I was looking at a more expensive router, and he told me this is all I would need at a much better price. I anticipated waiting for him to come from out of town to set it up for me, but it was so simple I set it up myself the same day it arrived and had it up and running for a week before he came to visit. Two computers, a tablet, and my DVD player all connected much easier than I thought they would. Couldn't beat the price at Amazon. Belkin N450 Wireless N+ Router (Latest Generation)
I was looking to increase my range and my speed with this purchase, which replaced a Belkin G Wireless Router. That router still works just fine, but range, and I had noticed some loss of signal when using Netflix through the Roku box (wireless connection) through my cottage's DSL connection (CenturyLink 1.5Mb/s).
The N450 does the job very, very well. It's much faster, and very easy to setup, and the range is at least twice what its predecessor (in this cottage) was. I use Vonage for my VOIP service, and there was literally nothing to setting that up with the N450.
I also like the ability to create a "guests" network with this router. Easy to do, easy to use for visitors to our getaway place.
I shopped around online, and saw this for as much as $99 or more, but ended up making the purchase for $59.95/plus tax at Walmart.
I was tempted to go with the Belkin N600 for another $10, but it had features that I just don't need at this location.
I recommend.
Thanks. - Wireless N - Router - Wireless - Wifi'

Wireless Speakers - wireless speaker, speakers
These speakers, as you can see, look great. And the concept is a wonderful idea. However when plugged in they frequently lose signal with the transmitter and you hear an awful static. Even within a few feet of the transmitter they can't seem to maintain a good signal and frequently need to be reset- very annoying. If they can't maintain the wireless signal they should at least turn off instead of blasting that harsh static sound.
This was quite embarrassing when I had guests over, they would lose connection and my guests heard awful static. This seems to be a product made by Audiovox and licensed by Acoustic Research. I've used AR speakers for years and these are far below par for the brand. They are very light, for example, lacking the weight to produce a rich bass sound. The mid range sounds hollow and the highs sound clipped. They sound like a pair of those external PC speakers that typically cost about a quarter of the price.
There are nice features such as dual color LED, L/R control, removable speaker screens, and 3 channels. I tried all of the channels but none could resolve the nasty static sound problem that would crop up after listening for a while. I'd really love these attractive speakers if they didn't drop signal and play harsh static. They also need a much higher quality sound. My product reviews are usually positive but this was a disappointment. Hopefully they'll get re-engineered inside. Audiovox Acoustic Research AW880 Portable Wireless Indoor Speakers (Black)
I had the same experience other users are reporting. Whenever your music or source is turned off, the speakers blare loud static - way louder than when the music was playing.
I called technical support and they are familiar with the problem. Their solution - unplug all three devices whenever they are not in use (this includes between tracks on an album when there is a temporary silence). Otherwise, prepare to be blasted with static.
I spoke with a supervisor and they told me to turn off any wireless phones. I live in an apartment complex and that's simply not an option (not that I'd want to turn off my own phone if I used a land line).
If you live out on a farm and don't have a wireless phone, try it out and please do let us know how it works. Otherwise, stay clear of this product.
Crappy sound.
If signal source or transmitter is turned off, speakers emit loud white-noise.
Tried to use as high-mounted remote speakers. Sound was worse than some $5 PC speakers they replaced. Also, when stereo turned off, even though this transmitter remained on, speakers lose sync and hiss.
I'll wait another few years for this technology to mature.
Everybody has different experiences, but as far as my personal experience these speakers are great. I wanted to get the most out of my XM radio so I purchased a pair of these Audiovox/AR so I could listen anywhere in the house. Right now they are in my basement and the sound quality is perfect. The XM radio is upstairs in the living room, and there is no static or problems at all. Crisp clean sound.
Well worth $100.00.
I bought a set of these speakers for my wife to use on her Imac. She wanted speakers that could be put anywhere with no wires. These speakers meet MOST of the desired features, sort of. The sound is good enough for small speakers. Full volume from the computer results in little distortion and does get loud enough for a party. These wireless speakers DO have wires; the speakers need to be located near a wall socket for power. They do run on batteries but that option will go through batteries so fast that you'll need a case of them. The power button, volume and search button are in back of the speakers, but that isn't so bad. The really irritating thing about these speakers is they have to be turned on and off individually, separately from the computer power switch. If there is any interruption in sound from the computer, (or other source), an annoying and very loud static will be what you get! If the volume is too low, static is the result. The transmitter is weak! The signal to the speakers is lost easily unless the transmitter is put in a high, open area. The wires to power source and to the computer are not really long enough to set the transmitter more than about 3 feet. That sounds like plenty but try routing the wires while positioning the transmitter in a high spot. And last of all, the thing intercepts other signals. I get a neighbors phone calls. One sided conversations in Chinese. Other TV signals and just plain static. This happens in the evening mostly. Turning everything off is really more difficult than it should be. Each speaker must be turned off separately before the computer or other source is turned off. These are decent speakers but the kinks need to worked out.
I was reluctant to order the speakers because of previous reviews. However, when I saw them featured on HSN at a price much more than Amazon I order them. If the speaker transmitter is attached to a fixed output from the recever such as a tape out there is not problem with transmission to the speakers and the spreaker volume controls provide great volume.
The selling description is misleading, it says speaker which in reality is a kit of 2 speakers and a transmitter.
The unit as a whole is ok by me, but the thing that I do not like is the bright blue light on the speaker and on the transmitter which says both on which is needed but not as bright as they are, tape over them. I use the speakers for TV, works well and the sound is good but the speaker controls are on the back of the speaker and since noise levels are not equal all the time on the TV I have to constantly reach behind the speaker to adjust volume, controls should be on the front. If being used on a sound system with constant volume they would be ok.
1 thru 10 probably a 5 just because of the lights and operation. - Acoustic Research - Speakers - Wireless Speaker'

Furniture Placement - interior design, decorating
A better title for this book would have been "How to Rearrange Your Single Purpose Living Room If You Have a Fireplace And Nice Furniture to Create a Comfortable Conversation Area". She talks exclusively about living rooms and 90% of the problems she shows are solved by moving the furniture closer together so people can hold a conversation comfortably. And not just any living room but a certain kind of formal living room. Almost every room she shows has a fireplace and has a very regular geometric shape. How do I create a focal point if my living room is an octagon with windows on almost every wall and no windowless wall is big enough to put a couch under? Only one room she shows has a television in it. How do I create a comfortable conversation area that also lets me (and my guests) watch television? How can the fireplace be the focal point of the room if I also have a television in it? What if I live in a 800 square foot apartment and don't have the space for the strict separation of duties that she seems to advocate? What if I don't have a family room to put the television in? What if I don't like my furniture or want to add to my collection? While I find her low-cost use-what-you-already-have approach a nice alternative to the spend-$20,000-and-change-everything approach, sometimes just rearranging your furniture and art isn't going to cut it.Instead what we get are 10 basic design guidelines. And I do mean basic. I honestly have to wonder about all of these people who have fireplaces and don't use them as the focal point of the room. While it seems like what she says is just common sense, I suppose there is some good in having it written down. It just seems like it isn't really enough information to fill an entire book and then charge $16 for it.I didn't find the lack of color as annoying as some other reviewers but that's because Ward's design consists primarily of physical arrangement; the use of color wouldn't have helped make things much clearer but definitely would have added to the cost of the book. Towards the end of the book she gives some lip service to the use of color and in that part of the book color photographs would have been useful. It is also somewhat surprising that a book published in 1998 (my edition was published in October 1999) doesn't have a single URL to any of the sources she provides at the end of the book. Use What You Have Decorating : Transform Your Home in One Hour With Ten Simple Design Principles -- Using the Space You Have, the Things You Like, the Budget You Choose
The most useful feature of this book is the list of major decorating mistakes: the author illustrates them clearly, so you can see why they are mistakes, and offers simple, inexpensive solutions. The before-and-after black and white photos of unmistakably real homes (first two pages: what's wrong here? overleaf: how did we fix it?) are very convincing. You'll get a lot of basic knowledge out of this book: how to create a good conversation space, how to create "flow" in a room, how to avoid visual clutter, what to do with collections. Her method of presentation teaches you what questions you need to ask yourself in order to show your own furniture and space to its best advantage. Which is what decorating is all about, right?
I have a few quibbles: why does Ward assume that only men are interested in good hi-fi equipment while women would be happy with anything that doesn't interfere with their decorating scheme?? I beg to differ... Her style is generally rather "feminine" - she'll encourage you to use lots of pillows and throws - which isn't for everyone.
The only major gap in this book is how to use colour to improve the look of your space. She's of the "white and/or beige is best for all rooms" school. Boring, boring, boring. Myself, I'm fixing to paint my dining room red.
I found this book to be extremly helpful because it guides you through creating a visually pleasing home that is also functional by rearranging items that you already have. So many people have beautiful things in their home and expensive furniture, but do not arrange these items so their rooms "work". This book gives you practical advice that you can really implement in an hour or two. It fullfills a need that is overlooked in most interior decorating books. This book does not focus on interior decorating as a whole or the components that are traditionally addressed in interior decorating books(picking a style, a color theme, window treatments, picking furniture and accessories). This book concentrates on the arranging portion of decorating. The book does not contain color photos (However, I did not find that to be an issue and actually found black and white to be helpful in this case because it didn't distract me from the topics). If you are looking for a book to guide you through the overall decorating process, you will be disappointment with this book. Check out Better Homes and Gardens New Decorating Book for a complete book on interior decorating. However, if you are looking for a book to help you arrange your stuff, then you will be absolutely thrilled with this book and the results you produce.
The genius of this book is that it gives you a firm foundation for any decorating you want to do, and you can do it WITHOUT SPENDING ANY MONEY! This book is the first and last word on furniture arrangement for non-professionals, and it doesn't tell you to buy new furniture before you start. This is not a comprehensive book on the whole decorating/design process, but it does teach by realistic example, it's thorough, and it's easy to understand. No, there are not a lot of color pictures, but color is not the point of this book. The photographs feature the sort of furniture and rooms that most of us are dealing with, rather than fantasy rooms that few of us can afford. I found it very helpful to see the bare bones without having every detail planned out for me. I do wish the author had ventured beyond the living room--perhaps most people request a re-design of their public rooms. However, what I learned certainly helped me to plan other spaces in my new house. If she ever does a book on other rooms of the home, I'd stand in line to buy it. I agree that some of her ideas are arbitrary, and I don't buy all of them. I have to admit, however, that removing the photographs and odd objects from our bookshelves considerably improved their appearance. This book is a wonderful companion to other decorating books you may all ready have or plan to buy. And it may save you a lot of money! - Interior Redesign - Decorating - Home Staging - Interior Design'

Relaxed Fit - mens jeans, jeans
Wash this pants when you get it in the mail or purchased. It is rigid when you buy it or get it in the mail. It's starched or something. don't wear it right away. Wash it once or twice in cold water to get the fabric some wear and this makes it stronger in the seams and makes it less rough. It's thick fabric. It is tough. Dickies Men's Regular Fit 5-Pocket Rigid Jean, Indigo Blue, 33x30
These are jeans like we used to buy before everybody became wimps and opted for limp pre-washed pants with rhinestones and stuff on them. These are pretty stiff so you have to wash them before you wear them but they seem to be made of a heavy-weight fabric that will wear well. I rate them as much better quality than the $30 jeans from Lands End and L.L. Bean.
I love these jeans. They are not what they look like in the picture and they are a lot lighter than the picture. But the color is indigo blue. The stitching is orange and and kind of stand out. But I like the look overall but just don't trust the picture. They are a nice fit and are made of heavy material. But I would definitely buy these type of jeans again, because i definitely love the color of it.
I had no idea that fabric could be this stiff. They remind me of those uncomfortable tough jeans from when I was a kid except I think these are stiffer.
I had to wash and dry them 5 or 6 times before they could be worn - just kept cycling them through with other loads of laundry. Even with all that washing, they are still stiff but they can be worn.
The cut is very full. I thought they would shrink up more than they did. It probably would have been a good idea for me to order an inch smaller than normal in the waist.
So -
They are ok.
They are more rigid than I'd like.
They will probably wear well and last a long time.
They will be worn, but I wouldn't want to purchase another pair of these.
They look really nice and they're (Indigo-blue) nice and dark, but not grey or black which is good. They fit very well but I would suggest washing them and wearing them a couple times (2-3 times for my pair) to break them in. Otherwise they'll be kind of rough and might irritate your skin.
My only complaint is that they shrunk once I washed them. Enough so that it went from loose to tight. They fit okay now once I wore them more and washed them. But, something to consider. I'll definitely buy another pair.
These are nice jeans. They're not crazy-expensive, designer, "premium-denim," but they feel good and feel quite durable. As others mentioned, washing only once changes these jeans from off-the-shelf stiff denim to quite-wearable, comfortable jeans. The length is maybe just a hair long based on sizes, but not by much. Zipper feels good, pockets are slightly tight but not an issue at all. I would recommend these, especially for the price.
I bought these in size 40x34 for my hubby for work jeans. He LOVES them.
They are durable and nice looking even for everyday wear. The price CANNOT be beat. We ordered 3 more pairs. He wanted more for work and also a pair for everyday use. They look great with a fresh pair of wheat Timberlands :)
Highly recommend these jeans for anyone who needs work jeans for construction type trades or for casual use! They seem like they will hold up well and the color is great.
I bought these jeans for my husband and he looks so GOOD in them. He also says they are very comfortable. Although he wears these to work in a machine shop, they seem to be holding up well. These jeans are definitely a great value and we will be buying more! - Jeans - Relaxed Fit - 501 - Mens Jeans'

Toland Home Garden - toland home garden, outdoor flag
Just like someone had commented in their review, this flag looks just like a work of art. Made of high quality durable material to resist fading and mildew. Made to survive all seasons. The colors are soft looking and at the same stand out to anyone who sees it. Use it with New Creative Deluxe Anti-Wrap Flag Pole - 59". Flag also comes with an canvas like tab that hides and secures to the clip of the flip pole to ensure flag stays in place. Hummingbirds w/Pink Garden Flag
Its colors are so vivid, the product photo doesn't do it justice. The flowers, and the hummingbirds' throats are a bright, hot pink; almost a fuschia color. The blues, greens, and yellows are clear and intense.
A friend sent this flag to me in the small size. Even in a large yard, far from the street, this flag gives a happy pop of color that draws the eye.
I love Toland flags. They're sturdy, well-made, and last many seasons. This flag is wonderful for adding a bit of pink to your outdoor decor. You can't go wrong with it.
I love this flag from Toland! It's beautiful and nothing less than a true work of art. I was thrilled when I saw it. It was carefully packaged and was shipped very promptly, received very quickly. This was definitely an A+++++, five-star transaction for me. Thank you very much!
I am very happy with this garden flag. It is very well made, not too thin and it has not faded at all yet, despite sitting directly in bright sun all day and all of the rain we have had for the last month and a half. It is still as gorgeous as when I first put it outside. The colors are wonderful and vibrant. It looks so much better in person than online here. I am so glad I decided to get this one. I feel that it will hold up wonderfully all season and more. I have had some garden flags that you can tell they have faded after just a few weeks of sitting in the same spot where I have this one. This is a very well made, very beautiful garden flag. - Outdoor Flags - Toland Home Garden - Outdoor Flag'

Fantasy Series - magic, fantasy series
In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry, a twelve year old boy is continuing another fascinating year at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. This second book in the J.K. Rowling series is a must read! Not only do the main characters Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger set out to solve a new problem but, they realize that somebody has opened the Chamber of Secrets. Through trial and error our heroes search for clues to save one of their friends. Again Harry must put his life in danger to save others who are important to him. J.K. Rowling has introduced us to some new characters in book two. We meet a magical elf, Dobby, a new professor, Gilderoy Lockheart and finally Ginny Weasley, Ron's younger sister who joins the famous trio. I liked this book because it was a true page turner. As the reader you can search for possible clues along with Harry, Ron and Hermione. I would recommend this book to anyone over seven years old. J.K. Rowling did an excellent job on this book because it's exciting and full of adventure. I have learned from this book that life is full of tough challenges and problems. No matter how hard it is you have to be brave and trust in yourself to do the right thing. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Book 2)
After reading the original of the recent hits and chart-topping Harry Potter series, I just had to read the second. It once again begins over summer vacation and takes Harry to his second year at Hogwarts, the best wizarding school of the day. But for some reason, people begin to be attacked by someone - or something. Harry, Ron, and Hermione start on another slew of detective work to find out what's going on, and how to save the students of Hogwarts...it's hard to give a plot summary without exposing the secrets of the ending, which, by the way, was a total surprise! This book is truly engrossing, more intense and frightening than the first. I loved it! It was both fun and funny, much like the other two in the series. It is interesting to read, and I honestly think it appeals to all ages. Even older readers will enjoy being taken back to the days when the line between fantasy and reality was blurred, and all the books would keep any modern teenager enthralled. Harry Potter No. 2 actually kept me laughing throughout. At some points in the middle, the story may get slightly bland, but don't worry: the best part is yet to come. I love children's stories, have read many, and these are the best, most modern works out there. There's a reason they are so hot right now, and all these other 5-star reviews are deserved! This series breaks the ordinary mold of children's books which are not always written with the same flair J.K. Rowling successfully incorporates into the plot, and they each possess their own sense of magic, not allowing the reader to put the book down! The Harry Potter books are highly recommended! Other children's authors I enjoy are Roald Dahl, Louis Sachar, Mark Twain, C.S. Lewis, and E.B. White.
Rowling wastes no time further developing the world she introduced first in PHILOSOPHER'S STONE. While the first book got us acclimated to her magical world, it is here, in the CHAMBER OF SECRETS, she really begins expanding the vocabulary of that universe.
Apparently, Potter, at this early stage in the story, is already in grave danger. He has a house elf named Dobby appear to him in his uncle's house, warning him he must not go back to Hogwarts. Dobby even gets Harry in trouble with the Ministry For Magic (thus reads the unaltered UK edition, rather than the Americanized "Ministry of Magic"). When Harry and Ron try to get onto Platform 9 and ¾ they find the way blocked, an so have to (illegally) take a flying car Arthur Weasley, Ron's father, had enchanted. Once they land, Severus Snape reads them the riot act, for they have been spotted by muggles. And that's just the opening section. Danger doesn't stop there.
Murders and attacks begin to occur within the school, and whispers of a dark area known as the Chamber of Secrets somewhere in the castle, where the Heir of Slytherin has bred a monster, is begingin to circulate. Apparently this Chamber has been opened before, and the last time it was opened, someone was murdered.
It is here, in the second novel, we are first introduced to Potter's ability to speak Parseltongue, though we were told of this ability in the first book. Here this ability takes ominous overtones, for it is thought the Heir of SLytherin, the one who can open the Chamber of Secrets and command Slytherin's monster, would also be able to speak parseltongue, and so Potter must endure persecution on that front as well.
A funny character in this one is Gildery Lockhart, that fraud of a teacher who is world famous and takes credit for work that is no this.. His fate is well deserved.
Eventually, Harry finds his way into the Chamber of Secrets, and through the aid of Fawkes the Phoneix, fights off the magical beast of Slytherin and learns more about Tom Riddle, the boy who would become Voldemort.
Ultimately, All of these mysteries are unraveled, and Potter and the gang are safe again. However, in typical Rowling fashion, there are some central facts regarding the storyline that would not emerge until much later in the series. It is not until Book 6 we learn the importance of Tom Riddle's diary, and that it in fact a Horcrux.
Rowling introduces some new features and characters in her universe. It is here in CHAMBER OF SECRETS we first really get to meet Ginny Weasely (though she appears briefly in Book 1), who at this early stage has a crush on Harry though Harry does not return this crush. We are shown the Whomping Willow, Aragog the giant spider, and are given more backstory on Hagrid. We are shown Polyjuice Potion, and learn about Moaning Myrtle, the ghost in the third floor lavatory. We see that Hogwarts is not as safe as you may suppose (though the school was never THAT safe to begin with). Probably one of the most important additions to Rowling's cast of characters is Dobby, the house elf who would became a major character throughout the remainder of the series.
CHAMBER OF SECRETS shows, more than anything, that the success of PHILOSPHER'S STONE was not a fluke accident, and it is with this novel we get the first real rumblings of the Pottermania that was about to take over the globe. This book is easily as readable as the first, and most readers will fly through this novel.
This is my order of Potter books by preference:
Deathly Hallows
Prisoner of Azkaban
Order of the Phoenix
Philosopher's Stone/Chamber of Secrets (I rank them both the same)
Half-Blood Prince
Goblet of Fire. - Jk Rowling - Magic - Fantasy - Fantasy Series'

Mac Mini - mount, macmini
Very versatile mount for the mini. I originally planned on using the mount to attach the computer to the underside of my desk. I noticed that the hole spacing on the mount matched that of the VESA mount on the back of the monitor I was using with the computer. I went to the local hardware store and purchased a couple of flat head screws for $0.50 (metric, size M4). Screwed the mount to the back of the monitor, slipped the mini into place, and presto - instant iMac. H-Squared MINIIMOUNT-S Mini Mount for Mac Mini
In the interest of getting the top of my desk cleared out. I have been using a custom made tower PC with windows on it for years on top of the desk. One day while thinking ahead during a television and renovation upgrade in my house. I said to myself, can I clean out the top of my desk in anyway. I was also in the mood to switch from Windows to Mac. I came across this device after I decided on a 32 inch television for the office. I figured I could put the mini mac on the wall behind the tv, which was installed on a swing arm mount. Now the top of my desk is clean. So I give this a five stars out of five stars, just for having my desk cleared out. This device can be installed both on the wall and under the desk. This device allows you to slide the mini computer onto the rack and still have access to the USB ports on the back and also the dvd insert. The device comes with a second mount that will allow you to hang up the power pack next to the mini computer.
H-Squared MINIIMOUNT-S Mini Mount for Mac Mini: This is a great product that lets you mount your Mac mini to a variety of locations, such as onto back of LCD monitor via VESA, or to wall or other structure. Simple, clean product. Good seller. A+
It works great for mounting a mac to a VESA-standard monitor, as I did. But you need your own machine screws. Not expensive (only a buck from amazon) but it took me a while to figure out which ones -- try these: [...]
If you were to mount it to a wall, you'd probably be disappointed that you'd again need your own hardware. It comes with two drywall anchors. Two. Probably sufficient for the mac itself, but four would be nice.
Also note that in addition to the plastic mount for the mac itself, it includes another mount for the power supply. If you want to use it. Again, you'll need your own hardware.
Note this is for the original mac mini body design -- the one sold from 2005 - early 2010. Won't work for the newer "unibody" mac minis sold after mid 2010. - Macmini - Mac - Mac Mini - Mount'

Adhesives - office supplies, tape
This is a strong heavy duty packing tape. It won't curl up like the cheap ones. It also does not fly away and stick to something else if you are not quick enough when cutting it.
We go through lots of packing taPe in our home, and this is by far, among the best.
Updated August 31, 2009
Wow, was I surprised when I went to buy this again and saw that Amazon is now charging over $25 for 3 rolls of tape. In June, I paid $12.44. I won't be buying it at the increased price. I'll put it in my cart as a saved item, and wait to see if price goes down. Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape, 1.88 Inches x 54.6 Yards, 6-Rolls (3850-6)
Do not buy this tape - it barely sticks.
It's faster to use two layers of weaker but stickier tape, than it is to use this tape, because half the time you will have to use both hands to anchor the starting point, even though I was using my tried-and-true quality packing tape dispenser. The whole point of a tape dispenser and packing tape is to use one hand to hold the box, and the other hand to apply the tape. This tape's poor adhesion defeats the purpose.
CON - It has poor adhesive qualities on every packing/packaging cardboard surface I tried it on.
PRO - It's strong.
Not only is this tape great for sealing boxes up with, but recently I had a car window that wouldn't go up all the way. I had to wait a week for a $400 special-order part (ouch!), and it was a snowy/rainy week. I didn't much like the idea of driving around with a garbage back on my car, so I just ran several lines of this tape to seal up the window. It worked well! Didn't have any stuff flapping in the wind, and it was completely water-proof! Furthermore, it didn't leave a whole lot of messy residue on the car or window...
Great tape!
Bought a 6-pack of this tape couple months ago on Amazon. What can I tell you - on grand scheme of things it was a waste. It simply doesn't stick to anything. Not to carton, not even to plastic. What kind of packaging tape is that? I can't even seal a plastic bag with it, never mind a cardboard box.
I bought this Heavy Duty Scotch packing tape because I didn't want to go with a cheap off-brand and get tape the came off the package during shipping. Instead, I paid a premium price for 6 rolls of tape that don't stick to anything. Worthless. I hope this was just a production fluke and not indicative of a new trend at Scotch. - Tape - Scotch - Office Supplies - Packaging Tape'

Micro Pinner
Yes , there is a problem with driving 1 3/16" pins but Bostitch will send you an easy fix, a new driver/piston. I am surprised that no one called them and posted this . I always contact the manufacturer with any issues first, some are very helpful and others are not. Great CS from them, as I always have had from them, and an other wise very well made compact driver now will work just fine. As far as using 2"pins, they are too long for this gauge in real wood[18 ga.2"brads is even pushing it] ;they bend easily and can "blowout" of the wood[follow the grain] when using to be really useful anyway but the 1 3/16" is perfect for shoe base mld. for flooring installs and no filler is really needed. 1" pin guns limits the usefulness as other brands have as their longest length. 4 stars for the tool as is, and add 1 star for Bostitch being there to fix their problem making the gun excellent now. Bostitch HP118K 23-Gauge 1/2-Inch to 1-3/16-Inch Pin Nailer
Just returned mine and ordered a Grex 635 instead. I fired about 40 pins in hard and soft wood, tried various compressor pressure settings, and various settings of the so-called "depth control." The gun jammed once. If the air pressure is at the low end of the recommended range (70-100 lbs.), or if the so-called "depth control" is set low, pins will usually be proud of the surface. With the proper adjustments the best you can do is get them to be flush, which is unacceptable as far as I'm concerned. According to Bostitch Customer Service, this pin nailer is not designed to countersink pins, but rather to leave them flush with the service. The "depth control" is a misleading name for what is really just another way of adjusting air pressure. It does NOT change the travel distance of the pin.
I just received this nailer about a week ago and have put it to work everyday. The first time I used it I noticed it would only drive the pins flush which makes the tool useless. The pins wouldn't even countersink in pine. I decided to grind the tip down a little hoping that it would allow the driver to make the pin go well below the wood. I'm sure Stanley wouldn't recommend this, but it did the job and now my pins go just the right depth in any wood that I use it on. Besides this minor problem everything else is perfect with tool including the case.
shot up many a clip of pins over the past week on a kitchen with cherry cabinets and trim. guns of this ilk are absolutely invaluable in delicate/intricate hardwood production work, from temporary jigging to glue up clamping to achieving the perfect miter. but this gun drove me up the wall and forced the guy coming behind me with the markers and putty to take his artistry to a new level. almost every pin stood proud, long grain shots and end grain. if it wasn't proud there was the slightest dent from the gun nose and the pin was still didn't countersink. when trimming in standard fjp this gun is a godsend, but for hardwood work you had better invest in a microscopic nailset(alien technology, coming soon) if bostitch hasn't decided to include one in the case already
...to follow up, this pinner is but a continuing let down. production installation of hardwood is the name, having the pin hold the pieces is but half the game. the many, the proud. i have a quick learning curve, now i've got a grex.
I was excited to purchase this nailer based on its ability to drive pins in excess of 1 inch. When it arrived I was pleased with the construction of the unit, very well made in the true Bostitch tradition. Upon immediately firing up my compressor to see what the unit will do, I was disappointed to see that it had a problem driving the 1 3/16 inch pins all the way into hardwood, in this case red oak. I tried different settings and even with the PSI set to max the pins would not countersink. I had to use a nail punch to finish the job, which is counter intuitive to why you would use a pin nailer to begin with. Other than that the nailer performs flawlessly, never jamming, etc. And by the way, the 1 3/6 pins are tough to come by. I have not seen them in any of my local home improvement or hardware stores. They are available through Amazon however, so you can stock up there.
I have been remodeling my home for the past year and was completing brand new Oak stairs with newel posts and balisters and railing. I had made all these pieces my self and I had to make some very small trim pieces and attach them to these beautiful stairs but my 18 guage trim nailer just blew them into toothpicks. I searched the web for a solution and found a review of pin guns in the JCL. I went to amazon and found the recommended gun kit. It arrived in a couple days. The little trim pieces were then tacked into place and you can hardly see the mark where the pin went through the trim piece.
I'm amazed at the amount of people trying to use this 23 guage pinner as a brad nailer or even a finish nailer. Most, if not all of the problems mentioned are due to operator error. These pinners are meant for delicate trim work where very thin and narrow pieces of wood can't be attached with a small nail or even a brad. When I read about using this guage pin on Ipe or people wanting a 2" pin it makes me cringe. It seems people are going to misuse and abuse machines all day long until they break and then they blame the machine. Learn your tool and learn the proper usage before expecting the impossible. It seems most of these "professionals" don't even know what a brad nailer is, let alone when to use a finish nail, a brad nail or a pin. There's a difference.
I was not able to make it sink one pin in any material. Those little pins hurt when you run your finger over them! Maybe I got a bad one. It is in the shop now being checked. My partner has a Grex and has had no trouble at all. I went with the Bostitch because I have had great service from their other products. If you buy this gun and have trouble, send it back before the return deadline.'
