Mens Boxer Briefs
My mother-in-law doesn't know why both her boys abandoned the "tighty-whities" but this is why. Husband chose these before we met. It's my job to keep him in them in perpetuity, and hope that the colors in the combo packs work. He did get a red pair about a year ago that he tried to wear to work his first day. I said no way the EMT's were going to catch him in "Santa pants" if he gets into an accident on his way to his first day of work! Now they're more muted in black, navy and evergreen. Much better. They keep their shape and survive lots of laundering, so thanks for the new batch! Hanes Mens Dyed Boxer Brief (Pack of 4) Assorted Colors, Large
I found these boxer briefs very comfortable they fit well. I used to wear boxers exclusively, but I picked these up for use at the gym. They made me a convert and I started wearing them all the time. The reason they only get 4 stars is that I've since discovered the Hanes ComfortSoft Boxer Briefs and moved on to those as the waistband on the ComfortSofts earns the 5th star.
Got tired of the "bunching up" issues with boxers. Utterly despide regular underwear so I figured I'd spend the $13 bucks on 4 pairs of these and see how it goes. I absolutely love em. Just as long as my boxers but no bunching up. They aren't too tight either.
Order was $13 bucks total. Thats including shipping. I'm buying more!!
I used to buy the Hanes boxer briefs about every few months. The reason is because they're great for the first couple months but after that, having gone through several washings and dryings they begin to thin out and develop holes in the crotch area. I found the solution and will share it with you. Go to Target, find some Merona brand boxer briefs and buy them. I've had these things forever and they're just as good and comfortable as the Hanes or Fruit of the Loom brand (which incidentally do the same crotch thinning thing) only the Merona brand never thins out or deveolps holes in the crotch area like those do.
Not a huge fan. I just don't find them very comfortable, and they fit rather large I think. Someone suggested Merona, I think Champion is also a great brand. Hanes makes terrific shirts, don't care much for these though.
The elastic waistband rumples, the threads fray, and they generally fall apart. I love the Hanes premium ones--and I guess their idea is to get you to waste your money on the cheap ones and then upgrade. Well, it worked...but hopefully this review saves you from the waste-money part.'

Homer Simpson - the simpsons, homer simpson
We received this for Christmas and it's great the only draw back in that every month or so you have to scrape off the plants and start over again. It comes with three packets of seeds so you have about 3 months supply of seeds, but Joeseph Enterprises who manufactures and distributes the Chia Pets and seeds obviously make their money by selling the seed packets which so far I haven't found a place online to order the seeds so you have to mail in the order form and a check or money order to get more seeds. Shipping is slow so order the seeds well in advance if you want them to arrive in time to replant when the current set dies and needs to be scraped off. Next time around we are gong to try seeds from another source and see if we can get them to last longer and maybe have blooms of some sort.
Any questions email me at tildaandtony@earthlink.net Chia Homer Handmade Decorative Planter, The Simpsons, 1 Kit
I purchased this for my wife as a valentines gift as she loves the Simpsons and always wanted a Chia Pet/Head.
She likes it and I'm a fan myself. When you get the Chia homer you have to first soak him in water for 24 hours so the planter can absorb water and you do the same for the seeds. You then apply the seeds and within a few days you'll see Homer sprouting!
Quick tip though for anyone wanting to purchase one. You need to keep the homer head filled with water so the seeds can get water, however the seeded area on the very very top front (for us) didn't really absorb water as the water line didn't really reach it. To insure all of your seeds get the water they need keep a small spray bottle near by so whenever you have a chance you can give it a good mist. - The Simpsons - Homer Simpson'

This is a beautiful shoe and the vendor delivered it promptly to us. They do run a little small so if your child has a chubby foot (like mine) then you will need to order a bigger size. Weber Charcoal Grill - weber charcoal grill, charcoal
Though this is a portable grill, it is terrific for at home use if you're single, or have a small balcony apartment. It takes very little space, and is easy to maneuver when cleaning time comes.I've used this gem for years. My apartments, on the whole, mandated the simplicity and efficiency offered up by the Smokey Joe.A great feature is the rounded top. This enables better smoking, as air and smoke circulates more fluidly. The downsides:The legs aren't as sturdy as they could be. Given time, a bit of bumping around and general abuse, and the screwed on legs might turn askew. If you notice this while the grill is hot, you've a problem. The solution is to keep them tight during non-use.The air intake at the bottom gets clogged with ashes. A key to good charcoal grilling is the manipulation of air flow. The intake might be open, but stopped up. If you are diligent to clean the ahes, you'll be OK.Because the grill is so close to the ground, you need to be careful. Unlike most of Weber's grill, this one os also apt to getting kicked over, run into by dogs, cars and children.I fully recommend Weber's Smokey Joe. Now, I'm hungry. Time to stir the coals and pop on a few brats.Anthony Trendl Weber 10020 Smokey Joe Silver Charcoal Grill, Black
I've had one of these little Smokey Joes for probably 15 years now. It definitely has some strong points, but also a few drawbacks.
Pros:
1. Durable. Mine's been outdoors in the weather for 15 years now. When I give it a good cleaning, it looks almost new.
2. Cooks well. I've grilled steaks, burgers, dogs, etc. It does a nice job on them all. And it doesn't use a whole lot of coal to do it. I've got a 22 1/2 weber too, but sometimes when cooking for only 2 of us, I use the smokey joe to save on coals.
3. It's small and does a nice job in a small space like apartment porch or patio.
Cons:
1. It's inconvenient as a Portable grill when traveling. It's got no carry handle or way to seal it up. Also, once you've grilled and need to go, there's nothing to do with the hot coals. You've got to seal all the vents and wait for them to be extinguished. Even then I'd be nervous about dumping them out or putting the grill in my trunk.
2. The legs get bent out of shape easily. I never abused mine, yet somehow they always are bent out of shape. Sure you can bend them back again, but later on its the same story.
If I were buying a small portable grill today, I would go with a rectangular grill like the Weber Go Anywhere grill. The legs fold up and snap over the cover. Then you just pick it up like a tool box by the top handle and go. If you choose a propane version you avoid the problem of dealing with the hot coals afterward.
The smaller sized Weber kettle comes through with all the quality and performance as it's larger big brothers. For hamburgers, medium steaks, shish-kabobs, and small family get-togethers, the Smokey Joe lives up to its' family name. Food is prepared to your liking in quick order and domed cover returns heat from charcoal to cook evenly and retained heat and adjustable vents on top and bottom greatly reduces flare-up. Best way to start charcoal with this unit, is with electric starter, and only drawback we found is accumulation of ash in bottom of grill after a few uses. Cleans up easily, and 14" grilling surface is able to meet most needs.
If you're short on space, cooking for only 2 people or grill only a couple of times a year, this will be the perfect grill! You'll get the same exceptional cooking results and flavors with Smokey Joe as you would with the larger Weber charcoal grills. This extremely durable grill is an outstanding value, and also makes an ideal "second grill" for those with larger Webers who wish to cook items using "direct-heat" and "indirect-heat" at the same time. Not only does Weber provide great recipes in the owners manual, they also have additional recipes on their Web site at www.weber.com! Love my Weber Smokey Joe and won't part with it or stop using it even though I also now have the "One-Touch Silver".
The Weber Smokey Joe is a great portable grill as far as cooking quality is concerned but there are a few issues.
First the good. You get a decent size grill area for an ultra-portable grill. It measures at 14 1/2 inches in diameter. Sure you probably can't do much with this grill if you are cooking indirect, but that's not what this grill is meant for. The grill cooks much like it's larger cousin - the Weber One-Touch. The porcelain enamel coating helps prevent rust. There's a vent damper on the bottom of the grill (as well as the top) so it's quite easy to control your temperature, much better then any other portable grill I've owned anyways. The ash-catcher works well enough to keep hot pieces of ember from falling to the ground.
As I mentioned before, there are a few caveats. My main complaint is that this grill has no lid-lock. This makes transportation a bit cumbersome, especially for a grill that is meant to be portable. You have to buy the Gold or Platinum version to get this functionality. I believe all portable grills should be easy to transport. I use a couple bungee cords to lock my lid down during transportation. Another small issue I had with mine is that one of the legs is a bit shorter then the other two, so my grill doesn't sit as evenly as it should. This isn't a big deal because Weber has great customer service, it's not that big of a deal anyways, it's just a little off. Finally the top grate doesn't fit very tightly so it wobbles around a bit - again a small issue. One other thing I should mention is that even though it has an ash catcher, it doesn't have any sort of One-Touch type of system, so you have to dump it to clean it (the vent damper doesn't quite do it). This isn't an issue at all for me because it's very light and easy to clean anyways but I thought I would mention that for those that might be curious.
All in all this is a great portable grill. For my wife and I this is a great grill to use even when we aren't going anywhere because it needs so little charcoal. Cooking on this grill definitely feels like I'm grilling on a baby version of my One-Touch. There are a few issues that keep this grill from getting a perfect score, but don't let these small issues keep you from buying this great grill. Personally I believe it's worth the $5.00 to go ahead and upgrade to the Gold so you can have the lid-lock, but it's not essential, like I said before a couple bungee cords do the trick if you need that functionality. Happy grilling! - Grill - Charcoal Grills - Charcoal - Weber Charcoal Grill'

Raw Food Recipes
I loved Michael Pollan's book "In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto" in which he summed up his research into what we should really be eating by saying "Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants." I then thought, O-K, that's great advice but how do I do that? Salads?
Victoria Boutenko's book answers my question so completely that you would think that she was wondering the same thing. Many of the plants that are the healthiest for you (the dark green types) are difficult to eat raw in any meaningful quantity; kale, mustard greens, spinach, collard greens, etc. This is why so many people either cook them to death or smoother them with high calorie dressings. The Green Smoothie Revolution book showed me how I could add all of things that I believe are healthy for us (leaves, fruit, and berries) to my diet in an easy and fun way.
I was introduced to the Green Smoothie by a friend who had been eating this way for a while. I have to admit that when I made my first one I looked at it and said "Really?" It looked like something that Yoda, the swamp dwelling Jedi master from the Star Wars movies, would eat. Green, thick and kind of bubbling. I pride myself on my cooking abilities, especially in making a dish look appetizing by skillful plating. This did not look good; as a matter of fact my other friends used quite a few "colorful" expressions to describe my concoctions, none of which are appropriate here. The taste however is an entirely different matter. The simple blend of bananas, strawberries and kale was sweet, earthy and fresh. I was hooked!
In addition to the wonderful recipes for green smoothies (with alluring names such as "Hawaiian Hibiscus", "The Laughing Gorilla" and "Green Monkey Face") the book also offers moving testimonials and, most importantly, sage advice from Mrs. Boutenko. I have grown to really enjoy mustard greens as a part of my smoothie meals but she gives a great reason to "rotate" your choice of greens. It seems many plants have ingredients in them (including alkaloids) that could become slightly toxic if eaten in large quantities in order to encourage animals to vary their diet so that the plant would not be eaten to extinction. By regularly changing my choice of greens I can avoid this problem as each plant has a different chemical make-up. Another thing that surprised me is that pets enjoy this type of food as much as people do.
I will have to admit that I am not planning to eat 100% raw foods. I believe that humans are omnivores and that a varied diet is a good thing. However, I feel much better now that I have made my daily Green Smoothie my major meal of the day. I still enjoy my cheeses, breads, butter (I LOVE good, cultured Vermont butter) and meat, but I am eating much less of each of them. Thanks to a great friend and this book I have finally learned a practical way to "Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants."
In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto Green Smoothie Revolution: The Radical Leap Towards Natural Health
This is a nice primer on a very easy way to amp up your nutritional habits.
I've been studying raw foods eating for the past week and the Boutenkos are definitely pioneers. The book has a brief testimonial from Victoria, a really neat Russian lady whose entire family at one point was diagnosed with severe medical conditions. Desperate for answers she met a lady who introduced her to the raw food diet. The entire family went 'cold turkey' and despite complaints and grumbling the daughter's asthma went away, and the son who was recently diagnosed w/juvenile diabetes, noticed that his blood sugar readings were dropping. Eventually the family was healed from all their medical conditions and they became sold on the raw foods way of living.
The Green Smoothie was a culmination of Victoria's efforts to figure out why her family had seemed to reach a plateau. She researched chimpanzee diets and found that leafy greens comprised a high part of their diet. However she admits that she had very little tolerance for raw leafy greens and found them disgusting.
After trying to blend the raw greens in a blender, which resulted in a stinky mess, Victoria added a banana and realized the fruit masked the smell of the greens. So she and her family began incorporating this vital nutrient into their diet by making 'green smoothies' w/fruit, water and greens.
The book contains a testimonial, important pointers for preparing smoothies such as rotating greens to avoid buildup of 'alkaloids', opinions on what ingredients add to or detract from an effective smoothie, a section w/smoothie recipes, and an appendix, which contains a testimonial from a 400 pound guy who found that green smoothies were the only way he could cut his cravings and effectively complete a weight loss program.
It's a very nice little book and it's something anyone can do. All it takes is water, greens, fruit and a blender. It would make a very nice gift for someone who needed a simple way to start improving their diet.
I have actually been drinking them and notice a big difference in my energy. Raw foods can be intimidating but this is such an easy first step. The book also has footnotes is well researched.
Green Smoothie Revolution by Victoria Boutenko
Review by Susan Schenck, author of The Live Food Factor
Inspiring, informative and entertaining
As the author of a raw food book myself, I rarely come across a related book in which I find many new facts. But it is clear that Victoria did her homework, because I found myself highlighting sentences on nearly every page. Though Victoria includes ample science in her book, the tone is very conversational and easy to read.
I was delighted to come across many surprising new tidbits such how, if you blend the greens you only need half as much as you do if you eat them in a salad; green grapes, tomatoes, apples, bell peppers (and more) are really unripe fruits; a zinc deficiency can create a lack of hydrochloric acid in the stomach, and much, much more!
Victoria also teaches us how processed foods have created degeneration that progresses with each generation! She found that ear lobes get smaller, which reflects a lack of cartilage in the body. She points out that the current generation of children is not only more obese than ever, but also is using more psychiatric drugs, braces for the teeth, and glasses. Our lack of good nutritious food (especially greens) is clearly degenerating us as a species.
I was most impressed with the research Victoria did on greens. For example, I used to have a nosebleed at least once a week until I switched to a raw diet 7 years ago. From reading this book, I realize now it was a lack of Vitamin K. Victoria lists the many symptoms that come from a lack of Vitamin K, which is found abundantly in greens. There plenty of other useful lists, such as cultivated greens, wild edibles and weeds, herbs, medicinal herbs, and most important: poisonous plants (with a stern warning to learn how to identify these before going foraging for wild plants!)
Victoria assures us that if we start blending the greens with plenty of fruit we will love the smoothies. She argues that this is good food combining, since greens are not really vegetables--because they are not starchy. Then, as we get used to them, we will not need so much sweet fruit, but will crave and enjoy the bitter greens. There is info on how to get even your cat to eat green smoothies (dogs are easy!) and also guidelines and tips for green smoothie production.
The book also contains personal stories, such as the delightful one about how her grandchild became hooked on green smoothies while in the womb, and another about leaving green smoothies out for wild animals -which led to, among other creatures, a bear coming for green smoothies! In one appendix we learn about how the Boutenko family went raw, and in another we read about how one guy lost 230 pounds in a year by doing green smoothies. (When will the TV "Biggest Loser" contestants catch on to this?)
All of the above makes the book worth the price even without the recipes. Yet the recipes make up the half of the book--there are 72 pages of them! Many are donated by readers from all over the world, and there are even green smoothie soups, puddings and body care recipes!
This book has truly inspired me to get back on track with more green smoothies. I had gone down to just one a day because of my fondness for chewing. But reading this has definitely inspired me to upgrade my "raw glow" to a "green smoothie glow."'

Fruit Of The Loom - underwear, boxer
If you were previously a briefs wearer before trying out these Comfortsoft Hanes Boxerbriefs, I can see why you may be fussy about the "support" in your underwear products; but for Boxer Shorts wearers wanting to snuggly fit into tighter jeans without the over-supportive feel- or (with boxers) the sudden bagging up, Hanes has found a way to make boxer briefs more boxer than briefs. In addition these are great for saggers, and make your butt more fluently attractive to the ladies without feeling like you're dressed for a WWE wrestling match. The reason why the price is so low is that Hanes is practically the highest selling underwear, t-shirt and clothing brand in the World.
However if you're looking for support:
Medium Support (Support with comfort):
2xist
C-IN2
Firm Support:
Calvin Klein
Puma Hanes ComfortSoft Boxer Brief (Pack of 4) - Medium, Assorted Colors
The whole point of boxer briefs is to offer support and comfort while staying in place. Hanes products only do this for a short period of time before the legs become loose and the boxer briefs turn into regular boxers. I got so tired of this problem that I just bought all boxers because there was no point in wearing boxer briefs anymore. I would recommend boxer briefs made by Old Navy, Under Armour, and Nautica over Hanes. You may pay a bit more, but it's worth it.
I concur with the other reviewer, the legs on these become loose very quickly. I noticed it after only two washings and one wearing. I'm going to hold on to mine, because they are fine for "looser" work clothing, but I'm looking for another brand for "going out" wear.
There's a difference in quality depending on color. The black ones are nice, thick, last long and doesn't get loose during use! The other colors however, seems to be produced in a different manner and gets loose during the day and stays loose after multiple uses. If Hanes sold just the black ones, I'd pay extra for them. Plus, the black ones look the best by far. It's hard to find a good pair of boxer briefs :o(
The ComfortSoft waistband is nice also, which I have not found an equal for. Other types or brands have that usual elastic waistband, that doesn't look nearly as nice.
Hanes, please sell packs of all Black Boxer Briefs for cheap! Otherwise, please some other company do it!!
I ordered these Boxer Briefs last year on Amazon.com and I just re-ordered some more because they are really comfortable and do "their job". I have big legs and these Boxer Briefs are just the right fit.
My husband is in Iraq and I had these shipped directly to him. I asked him about them the other days and he said he "loves 'em" Colors were good (and manly) and they're super comfy. Thanks for "supporting my troop" :)
These are my favorite type of Boxer Briefs. The waistband is smooth and one piece with the rest of the trunks, hardly a seam at all. The tag information is just printed on the trunks too, keeping the amount of uncomfortable itchy things to an absolute minimum. I order a package every month because I just can't have enough colors of these.
The boxers are decent. The cut is okay. I ordered the size corresponding to my waist but they are still slightly big on me. I prefer a tighter fit. Still, they look okay.
I do like them better than http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000PHOGRQ/ref=cm_cr_mts_prod_img though. - Hanes - Best Dress Sock - Underwear - Boxer'

Replacement Water Filters - replacement water filters, filter
I was a little worried about ordering the right filter for our fridge. But I called Samsung, as my filter was previously a 20A and this is a 20B. She explained, they are the same thing - just a different batch. Soooo, thankfully it works! We love having the filtered water as where we live, there's a really bad sulfur problem! Samsung DA29-00020B Refrigerator Water Filter, 1-Pack
Late last year I bought a fancy Samsung refrigerator - the model RF4289HARS. It is the one with the 4 doors (actually two French doors on top, a middle drawer, and a bottom freezer drawer. It has the water and ice dispenser on the left French door just under the snazzy blue led lighted touch control panel. Anyway, the change filter light came on and so I removed the filter (it is really easy, just unscrew it a half turn and it comes right out) so I could see what the replacement part number on it said. It was DA-29-00020A. After looking around the internet, and looking on the Samsung website I found that there is no such part number - the closest thing I found was almost the same number only ending with B instead of A. I called Samsung and after getting bounced to 3 different customer service people who had no idea whether part DA-29-00020A was the correct replacement for part DA-29-00020B and one customer service person who did not know that the filters are supposed to be changed after a while, I found a person who was able to tell me that DA-29-00020B is in fact the correct replacement filter for refrigerator model RF4289HARS. I bought two of these filters - one to install now and one for a spare. I put one in (it takes about 5 seconds to insert it and give it a half twist to the right to install it, and then I followed the instructions of running about a gallon of water through it. You really do need to run this amount of water through it so get all of the air out of it so you get a smooth stream of filered water coming out. I then reset the change filter light - you have to do this manually but all it takes is pressing and holding for 5 seconds (not the 3 seconds they tell you) the child lock/filter reset spot on the bottom left corner of the touch control screen just above the water/ice dispenser. It works great now - tasty filtered water and flavorless crushed ice from my fancy refrigerator any time I want it.
This is exactly what I needed. The part number is different from what I expected though, which was confusing. My old filter was 00020A I believe, although this filter is compatible with my fridge. Would be nice if it keep the old part number for clarity.
Happy to find this on Amazon slightly cheaper than my local appliance store (and easier with free shipping). Easy to replace ... wasn't positive that my filter needed replacing on my Samsung side-by-side, but the side of the filter box tells you that the filter indicator on the fridge (normally blue), turns red when it needs replacing. So I waited a few weeks to actually replace the filter, and sure enough, the indicator did eventually turn kind of red. The box mentioned that it might be difficult to replace without turning off the water supply, so I had my husband change it out. He had to turn the old filter fairly hard to get it out, but it came out (and new one went in) without having to turn off the water supply. Overall, very happy with the purchase.
This replacement is a different part number than on the original. It works but these things are too expensive for what they do. Plus, I think it's time they decrease the micron size rating to filter more contaminants out. .5 micron is so yesterday with all the pollutants in the water supply these days.
we bought this as a replacement filter for our samsung fridge (the side-by-side RS261MD, 25.6 cubic feet), our first. it arrived quickly and installs without a problem. so far it's working fine, which is good enough for me!
Standard fridge filter for Samsung, easy to install, arrived on time, no issues or problem whatsoever. Perfect so far, make sure to get rid of the first glass that comes out though just to make sure the filter is clean and no residue from the old filter - Filter - Replacement Water Filters'

Cordless Tools
This impact has good power and gets the job done. I have a snap on impact that I bought for about twice as much. I would rate this impact almost as good. It is a very handy tool to have around. All in all I am happy with this purchase! Bare-Tool DEWALT DC823B 3/8-Inch 18-Volt Cordless Impact Wrench (Tool Only, No Battery)
Works great, nice little 3/8 impact.
It has a very fast rate of impact, lots of power, and therefore loosens things that would other wise break off with the more powerful, be less vibration of my air ½ Ingersoll-Rand impact.
It does have a variable rate trigger, unlike the large ½" model Dewalt.
It also last a long time on even a standard (black) 18V battery.
Bought it from Fat Boy Tools, they were great as well, on time, free shipping, packed well.
When the cordless impacts started appearing, I thought they were redundant since I already had my cordless drill. But after using an impact, I found that the lighter weight and shorter muzzle were much more suited to driving screws. My drill now is used for drilling. And, since I already have batteries for my other Dewalt tools, I saved money buying "bare". The only inconvenience is I have been unable to find a quick release chuck in 3/8". The 1/2" drive is recommended. A 6 point 1/4" quick release for 1/2" is $6.50 at Lowe's.
Bottom line, this impact wrench works great. Granted its not a high torque tool such as a half inch pnumatic impact gun, it works perfectly for zipping bolts and nuts of various parts. I have been a automotive technician for six years and this tool blends well with my various tools I have aquired. This guns small size allows it to acces recessed parts and its torque quickly and easily removes the most siezed nuts and bolts. I have even used it to take off lug nuts on 3/4 ton truck lug nuts and it was very convenient compared to finding impact gun, dragging airline hose, connecting impact socket (after searching various drawers). Its torque rating is not the highest but it easily is one of the best tools i have in my tool box. Along with the positive aspects of the gun itself, the fast charger quickly charges the battery pack and has the tool ready to rock and roll in a short amount of time. This tool would be a great gift idea for any one who use tools and a great tool purchase for the more frequent users.
This is a great tool. It has plenty of power and easily removed lug nuts from my van. It is the perfect tool for jobs around the shop or for visits to a salvage yard looking for auto parts. I would definately recommend it.'

Dell Laptop Battery - laptop battery, dell battery
Be sure to get the "RoHs" battery featured here. I purchased a 9 cell battery from another seller at about the same time as this 9 cell battery. This one holds a 3 hour 40 minute (plus time to spare) charge (I tested with media player playing the first half the time and a backup running the second half - no idle time) and the other barely gets past 2 hours. HUGE difference. Also the other battery gets warm - not this one. Nice! I highly recommend this product.
As for the seller, the shipping time was fast and the price is decent, esp for what you're getting (it's like two thirds cheaper than buying direct from Dell if I'm not mistaken).
One one of the best buys I've made over the past 12 months. Kudos! 9 cell Battery For Dell Inspiron 1525 1526 series replace RN873 GP952 M911 X284G series Ac Laptop Notebook Main Battery
The first gotcha was that this battery is quite a bit bigger that the one it replaced (RN 873) but it fit the slot fine. Just stick out and down a little.
Second gotcha was absolutely no directions which should be not problem but...Apparently Dell uses a Smart Power system which has thousands of complaints on the internet.
Anyway, I powered down, installed battery and powered up. Power options said 63%. OK so far. 12 hours later still 63%....Uh Oh.
Long story (about 7 hours of Internetting, calling, attempted BIOS flashes etc) developed many horror stories about LIon batteries and Dell power adapter. The dreaded "unknown device" syndrome.
Here's how Dell recommended a reset. First, power down and remove battery. Second, unplug AC Power adapter from computer AND wall. Third-Wait till green light goes out. In my case, went and got coffee and watch a show.
Fourth - plug adapter into wall and computer and power up WITHOUT the battery installed.
After boot up, insert the battery.
It worked?!!?!
I bought this battery to replace the worn-out battery on my 2-year-old Inspiron 1525, which is battery model M911G. The one I received didn't fit the computer and it didnt look like the battery pictured above. Return was easy through Amazon, but disappointed that the battery didn't fit. Possibly my mistake, as the product description says it fits M911 (but doesn't say M911G).
For those that are confused about the physical size of the replacement battery; this is an extended size battery. There is the standard size that is flush with your laptop when inserted, and there are the extended sizes that protrude out approximately one inch from the back of your laptop. You will find this same protrusion on any extended size battery you buy directly from Dell. It will stick out the back a little, and that is normal. The standard size is a six cell battery and will give you a shorter run time on a charge. This is a nine cell battery, and this is how they get more run time out of the battery... it's bigger ;)
Considering the same size battery from Dell costs $179; I would say paying $39 is a bargain (price I paid at time of purchase). It would still be a bargain even if it lasts only half as long.
You can save yourself some headaches though on having to replace your battery more often than necessary:
- If you generally have your laptop plugged in and the battery is sitting there fully charged all the time, unplug it and let the battery run down a bit (about 40%) and then remove it. Your laptop will function just fine without the battery. When you need to use the battery, put it back in, let it charge up a bit, and use it.
I can't give this product a five star rating as I haven't had it for an extended period of time. I received it, plugged it in, discharged it, charged it up to full and it shows about 6.5 hours of run time with the backlight on the LCD at dim. Ran it down to 40% and put it away for storage. I'll come back and edit this review a few months down the road.
[EDIT - Addition - Jan 31, 2011]
Well, a few months down the road has passed by. First, a little background info so you can relate my usage to what I am saying. I am a full time tech college student, I drive a small fifteen minutes both ways to campus, and I attend class four days out of the week. I have the computer on pretty much the whole time as that is where I store my notes, take my notes, and do some of my homework. I use the the battery fairly frequently. With all that use my battery still reads 6.5 hours. Not sure if it is reading right or not, but it does hold a charge through all my classes down to about the 15-20% mark at worst (depending on usage). I do keep the battery on power saver settings while in school; display dimness turned all the way down, display turns off in 3 minutes, goes to sleep in fifteen minutes, WiFi turned off unless I need to look something up. I do occasionally turn the display brightness up, but turn it back down after. Do realize that the more you are demanding out of your laptop, it will shorten how long your battery will be running, I am pretty much using it for Office 2007. I remove the battery on the weekends as I can run it off the power cord at home.
I have been pretty satisfied with the battery, so much that when my wife's laptop had her battery kick the bucket I went and ordered one for her also (she has the same brand/model laptop as I do). I would buy this battery again and am changing my rating for it to a five star.
I bought this battery to replace my m911g battery for my dell inspiron 1525. I was a little scared that it would not work since there was a report or two stating it was not compatable with the m911g battery. I took a leap of faith and bought it, the free amazon prime 2 day shipping had it in my hands the next day, and if it did not work I knew amazon would make returning the battery super easy. So I put the battery in the laptop plugged it in over night as per the instructions and booted it up this morning. Decent preformance out of the 9 cell battery, about 3 hours on normal usage so far. Per the instructions I ran the battery all the way down from the first charge and recharged it. Its now running only on battery after the second charge and it has been going for about an hour and a half now and still has 70% left. Granted I'm not doing much on it but still decent run time.
I'd say if your looking for a replacement battery for your inspiron 1525 or simliar take a chance on this battery. So far I've been plesantly suprised. Is it as great of a battery as a Dell branded 9 cell....maybe...maybe not. But to get 3 hours out of it is pretty good. Even if this battery only lasts 10 months I can afford to buy 4 more before speanding the same amount I'd spend on 1 dell 9 cell battery. If I buy 2 of these and get 2 yeras out of them by then its time to just replace the laptop at that point.
If my expereince changes I'll report back..but for now I'd say give it a shot.
* UPDATE 11/28/2010*
This little battery is still running great for me. No problems at all using this battery since buying it. I would strongly suggest this to anyone with an Inspirion 1525. It is recognized properly by windows and charges with no issues. I can use it for all of 3 hours browsing the internet with no issues. Buy this now.
*UPDATE 2/17/2011*
Battery still working great. No problems at all. Still getting about 3 hours of use out of a full charge. Still would recommmend. - Dell Battery - Laptop Battery - Replacement Battery - Laptop Batteries'

Gaming has hit an all time low thanks to UBI Soft. If you didn't like draconian DRM schemes, you're going to hate UBI Soft's new policy: you must be connected to their servers 100% of the time to play Assasin's Creed 2. If you don't have internet, or if your internet is out, or if you are on vacation, stationed in Iraq, or want to play at the airport, you are out of luck. No game for you. That in itself is very troubling and reason enough to NOT BUY THIS GAME. However, there are additional reasons that are even more frightening:
1) Setting the precedent for future games
If gamers buy Assasin's Creed despite this huge limitation on game play, it will open the door to many more games like this in the future. That would be awful for the consumer.
2) Turning 'owning' into leasing"
Tying games to some sort of server for activation is bad enough, but making them DEPENDENT on a server is horrible for the consumer. It takes away our rights (to play the game we paid for on our terms) and creates a system whereby you are simply LEASING a game. If at some point UBI Soft decides to take down their servers, you lose your game. They can take away your rights to play the game at any point in the future if they decided to. They have you by the cajones! If you give into this model, expect to never own any digital medium again; the makers of games, producers of music, and distributors of movies would love to see our current model of OWNING a physical copy of your game \ album \ movie replaced with a system where you only own the 'right' to access \ play that medium. It's their wet-dream to turn the current system of ownership on its head so they can re-sell you things endlessly as well as take them away from you at their discretion. As a consumer, it's important that we speak out against this by supporting DRM free games (Mass Effect II, Dragon Age, Fallout III, etc...) and DRM free music (buy it from Amazon!) and REFUSE to buy this junk with built in limitations and restrictions that SERVE NO PURPOSE.
3) Making games dependent on 'phoning home' means you're at the total mercy of UBI Soft (or whomever runs their servers)
If their servers are down, you lose access to your game. If their servers are overtaxed, you may experience problems connecting to your game. Think that isn't likely? Think again. Currently (03/09/2010) the servers have been down for the last 12 hours or so, creating chaos for all those who expected to be able to fire up Assassin's Creed. It doesn't even matter if UBI Soft is malevolent or not; if your service provider has a bad week you may be out of luck. If there is a storm in your area, you could end up out of luck for weeks (this happened to me when a tree knocked out my cable internet for 9 says straight--I thought I was going to die). You're screwed if your internet, their servers, or anything along the line between the two goes down.
4) DRM is pointless (and this online restriction is one of it's worst forms!)
Want to pirate games? It's tragically easy these days. Even more tragic is that DRM, supposedly designed to prevent piracy, is a total failure at actually accomplishing that. Want proof? Google "Spore + DRM + Piracy" and see what you come up with. I'll give you a hint: Spore was pirated BEFORE it was officially released. Many games are unto torrent sites well before their release date. The worst part of this is that the pirated versions are in almost all cases SUPERIOR to the DRM infested versions: they don't contain the invasive, crippling, and destructive DRM that past games have been ruined by (Bioshock, Mass Effect I, Spore, etc...). I am NOT ADVOCATING PIRACY. I think you should buy the games you want to play. I am advocating NOT BUYING games that violate your basic consumer rights (right to resell your game, right to play your game WHENEVER you want to without restrictions). If a game limits those rights, I say skip it entirely. Because UBI SOFT are morons doesn't give anyone the right to steal. As your Mom (or at least mine) used to say: two wrongs don't make a right!
I am not opposed to simple DRM schemes (disk check, or even Steam which has established very good rapport gamers by being both consistent, fair, and show a long track record of stability). I am totally opposed to anything that PREVENTS ME FROM PLAYING THE GAME that I paid money for. I don't want to see this standardized (and I don't think it will be) and so it's time to take action NOW and refuse to buy this garbage.
The bottom line is DRM is not and has never been about preventing piracy. It's about CONTROL. Control over you and how you are able to play the very game you paid your money for. It's about wrenching ownership away from the consumer and replacing it with something much lesser: rental \ leasing. Don't let them do that to you.
Final Thoughts:
UBI SOFT and those like them have got to be taught a lesson. The only way to get heard by these huge companies is by hitting them where it hurts: their pocketbook. Refuse to buy this game or games like it that infringe on your rights. Tell your friends not to buy it. Write reviews that inform people about the risks of doing so. That's how you get things to change. To the inevitable trolls who will tell me that DRM should just be 'given in to,' I'd like to point out that currently game makers are MOVING AWAY from DRM schemes. The reason is because of the backlash against pointless restrictions by those like myself who are unwilling to sit around and watch PC gaming be ruined by greedy scumbags. It's because of grassroots action (Spore for example) that the tide has turned and that DRM is now much less common than it was a year ago. Top shelf games are being released DRM free. You know what? I've bought all of them and recommend you do the same. Let's all give our money to the makers of games that RESPECT us--after all, WE ARE THE CUSTOMERS. Enough said. Bundle Monster - nail design, nail drill
First, I'm not a professional, but I've been using a manicure drill on my own natural nails, manicure and pedicure, for a few years. For new users, it takes practice. I really like this one because it's cordless. It takes 4AA batteries. I use rechargeable camera quality and they last way longer than I expected. It has two speeds and is strong enough to sand off toenail callus areas. I also like that it's adjustable so I can buy other sanding/buffing bits and parts (made for the name brand nail drills) at Sally's locally. This is a big plus! Vogue Professional 6603 Cordless Nail Drill
The first time I used this product it was great, prior to buying this drill I was filing my gel nails by hand. A drill is a must for anyone doing their nails at home! However, this drill did not meet expectations. The second time I tried to use it, I realized the new batteries had already drained. I put new batteries in and when I snapped the bottom piece in, the plastic snaps broke off, so the batteries would not stay in and the drill would not be operate. There are two speeds but high made it much too hard to control. It does, however, come with various drill bits that are easy to interchange. I would recommend trying the other Vogue My Manicurist nail drills that don't use batteries. - Nail Biys - Nail Drill - Nail Design'
