Digital Slr - photography, 5d mark ii

The best DVD on 5D Mk II to date, forget "Elite Video," (lacks depth - amateur), or "A Short Course.." (Still a great overall guide - but lacks 5D Mk II depth). "Blue Crane Digital" provides more insights that are hands-on tools you will use in the field. Introduction to the Canon 5D Mark II ; vol. 1: Basic Controls Training DVD by Blue Crane Digital

I've owned a quite a few of the Canon EOS digital cameras and had great results so moving up to the 5D Mk II was not a unique experience for me but on a flight to Singapore I went through the Volume 1 Basic Controls DVD and learned a lot. The instruction is clear and well paced. Looking forward to Volume 2.

I bought this DVD and sat down with camera in hand while viewing it and I learned more from this video that I ever imagined I could. It is so well done and easy to follow explanations of the camera's controls. You will quickly learn how to set the controls to get the most out of this amazing camera. I give it five stars because I don't think you will find any thing that will help you more than this DVD. It will be the best $20 you ever spent to help you with this camera!

I ordered this DVD at the same time I ordered my 5D Mark II. I was concerned about a big learning curve, switching from an Olympus E-520 with a completely different layout and menu system. Turns out this was one of my better ideas. In a very short time, I was comfortable enough with the 5D2's control layout and menuing system that I was able to operate in manual mode on my first outing with the camera, and didn't spend a lot of time fumbling for controls. The instruction is clear and easy to understand. The instructor speaks clearly. The order of presentation is logical. Highly recommended.

The 5d Mark II was my first introduction to Canon cameras and frankly I was a little intimidated as there was much I was unfamiliar with and didn't wish to screw it all up.

Voila! This introduction was just what I needed to familiarize myself with the controls and provide me the knowledge to begin enjoying the camera. Learning by watching how it's done eliminates so much guesswork and provides considerable confidence. It is basic, but learning the basics is an absolute necessity.

Basic controls: means if you've never used a Canon before but decided to buy a semi-pro camera you might be interested in this DVD. If you're familiar with Canon, like I was, don't waste your money. The information is super obvious and doesn't cover 1/2 of the info available in the user's manual. It wasn't a lot of money to purchase this DVD, but you could use your money towards something far more helpful. - Digital Slr - Canon - Photography - 5d Mark Ii'

Laserjet Printers - mac os x, laserjet

Solid, comfortable printer - nice "office" feel. Load up the drivers and away you go - at least with Mac - and through Airport. Other reviews make a fair point about being a bit noisy - I have it sitting on a fairly hollow wooden cupboard which may accentuate this issue. However for usual home printing regime I can't see this being a big issue for most. HP P2035 LaserJet Printer Monochrome

I have had this printer for several months and have only recently been printing stuff on a regular basis. The cartridge says it is good for 2300 pages, and that goes by quickly. The replacement cost is $83+ dollars, which is nearly half the cost of the printer. That is roughly 3.6 cents a page. I suppose this is okay, but $83 seems high to me. Must be fantastic technology involved.

Otherwise the printer works very fine.

Perhaps HP has had a bad run of late, but our first printer worked for 2 weeks before it started jamming. The replacement worked for 2 days before it started jamming. We opted to not try a third and went with another manufacturer, I would say avoid this printer until they iron out their feeding issues.

This printer is replacing an older version of a HP Laserjet printer. I wanted a small footprint, since I am limited for space. It is all that other reviews have indicated. It is fast, easy to set-up and install.

The only reason I give it 4 stars is that it is noisy for my home office, and I can only get 2500 page toner cartridges not 3500 page cartridges.

I can live with the noise if I get the great results in useability. I do recommend this printer.

I purchased this printer to function as a second printer when color is not required.

Set up is easy and went smoothly. Printing is fast, and quality very good to excellent. If you need a fairly low cost laser printer, this is a good one. I recommend it.

This is a very nice printer for the price. Of course you aren't going to get all the bells and whistles of a more expensive unit, but that is to be expected.

The print quality and print speed are more than adequate for office use. The paper for the manual feed tray comes in at an unusually steep angle, which makes loading the tray a little tricky, but it's not a real big issue.

I love this printer. I have been doing taxes for many years and needed to replace my old HP LaserJet. This printer is fast, produces quality prints, was easy to set up, and is reasonable priced. I would highly recommend it.

I purchased this printer 6 months ago and it has been a good solid printer. Recently I upgraded my iMac to Snow Leopard OS 10.6 and realized just about every driver for HP products is available except the P2035 and a handful of others. HP is working on a driver for Snow Leopard but does not have a date yet. If you have a iMac running Snow Leopard heads up!!!

I got this printer for $150 and thought it was a steal. It prints very well, although it's pretty noisy. However, after being aware for several years of the contradiction of cheap inkjets -- manufacturers would practically give away the printers because they charged roughly $3500 a gallon for ink -- I realize that I have been suckered. Yes, this printer is inexpensive, but it quickly runs out of ink and you have to buy the shorter-life, more expensive CE505A cartridges (about $88) instead of the more cost-effective CE505X cartridges (less than twice the price, but three times the number of pages). So if you want to be able to use the 505X cartridges, you should buy the printer that uses those. Also, Amazon doesn't sell the CE505A cartridges, so I had to buy mine from Staples. I hate feeling like a sucker!

This printer makes a hellacious noise every time the engine starts-which is every time it prints. The "quiet mode", a critical selling point for me, cannot be enabled on a Mac operating system, even though the advertising says the printer is Mac compatible. Which, if you don't mind the really unpleasant racket, it is. Even worse, the User Guide that came in the installation documentation specifically sets out the method for enabling quiet mode in Mac. It doesn't work-and can't be made to work in the Mac environment as the printer is delivered. After hours of trying to find a solution through Apple and HP Support, I was informed (by HP) that I can enable quiet mode on this printer only through a Windows environment, and then when I reconnect to my Mac, the printer will be in quiet mode. What a wonderful fix. When you make a statement in your advertising that is knowingly untrue, and you compound the misrepresentation by including a second misrepresentation in the User Guide, it is to my mind nothing less that a fraud. HP will have to pay me to have another of their products. You'd be better off buying a printer from a sleazy used-car dealer. - Hp - Laserjet - Mac Os X - Duplex'

Ipad Pen - boxwave, ipad pen

I like the idea of this and the size and compact stylus head. I'm afraid I'm going to lose the cap (it's come off a few times) and sometimes the iPad doesn't recognize my gestures with the stylus. Overall I like the product, but if something more responsive comes out I'll probably go with it. BoxWave Capacitive iPad Styra (Jet Black)

I bought this so I could use it as a stylus and a pen that I could carry in my shirt pocket. As a stylus it worked fine, but as a pen it failed. The clip fell off after 2 days and no matter how I tried to fix it back on, it just kept falling off until now I've just given up. As far as writing, it was just average.

Regret buying this along with 6 pen refills. Now looking for a better stylus pen.

Not recommended.

I have tried many different stylus models for my iPhone and iPad. Without a doubt the boxwave stylus both with and without the pen are the classiest looking and best performing of all. They feel good in your hand and work flawlessly on both devices. I hoped for a long time that someone would make one with a nice writing pen and boxwave did just that.

The more I use this, the happier I am with it as a stylus, compared to similar Boxwaves or Elagos; i have not tried the Hard Candy stylus/pen.

Pros:

- This stylus is longer than the usual Boxwave and Elago, and feels more pleasurable to my large hands; I'm 6'4".

- The included pen is fine for what I use it for, the occasional paper note while I'm on the go.

- The rubber point works as well as any other styli I've used

Cons (more Quibbles):

- Someone mentioned that the clip broke off. The clip is tight and inflexible, but this seems common to the Boxwave and Elago I already own, and I think breaking is at least partially the result of not assessing the risk it would break beforehand, and of treating the pen roughly. I should mention that the Hard Candy pen, while getting better reviews, does not have a clip, and could be even less convenient.

- The pen cap does not fit over the rubber stylus, and while not a major issue for me, since I only occasionally use the pen, it is a design flaw.

The rubber "bubble" at the tip of this stylus fails after 45 days. Contacted Amazon for help and they referred me to Boxwave. Boxwave would not honor their 100 day warranty because I bought it through Amazon. Interesting business partnership Amazon. Too much finger pointing. Awful company and even worse customer service. Take your business elsewhere.

A truly excellent product. I use it daily for extensive note taking. It feels as comfortable as note taking on paper. The tip is perfect for my style of writing. Much better for me than the light weight pogo. And the ball pen at the other end is a neat feature for when you need to go back to the old world. Really love it.

Sometimes, at oblique angles, it doesn't pick up perfectly, but the added dexterity over using your finger is well worth it. Also, it doesn't leave finger stains like your hands do, which makes it easy to watch videos without having to clean your screen off every time you pause it.

I think this is a great tool. With this I am able to use my Ipad for notes on a daily basis. I have not tried any other stylists but based on the reviews I went with the Boxwave and I am glad I did.

Feels nice and solid and looks professional, but best of all it works great.

If I had to say something bad it would have to be there is no place/way to attach the pen cap when you are using the normal pen.

Overall it is a great product and I would recommend it.

Other than being over-priced, this is an excellent stylus. Unobtrusive, conceals a nice pen, and most importantly, works fine on the iPad surface. Friction is minimal, so it feels very comfortable and natural to write or sign on the glass surface. Highly recommend. - Ipad Accessory - Ipad Pen - Touch Screen Stylus - Boxwave'

Actually, I became re-intrigued by this song when I was tuned in to "The Voice". One of the contestants did a rendition of this song, and I realized, yes, it's a good song. I clicked and bought it right away! This Love

Classic loser rock song with a sweet tenor vocal, folksy tone and nice backbeat and not oversampled. Would be great for workouts or climbing Mt. Tamalpais on a good bike. Bright, beautiful and shiny. - Music - Funk - Contemporary Folk - Backbeat'

Womens-saucony - saucony, running shoes

This shoe is soft and lacks the strong motion control of previous Saucony Grid Stabil models. It is not the same product at all.

I developed knee and ankle pain after prolonged use, I have to put them in the cupboard. The shoes softened up quite a bit after a month of daily 3 mile runs.

It's a great shame, I hope next year's model returns to formula.

I am a severe overpronator and wear quite steep-arched orthotics, but the previous model with the large arch-lock feature prevented me from picking up any noticeable knee pain. I cannot say the same of this years' model.

I find it quite a mystery as Saucony have had an excellent reputation for providing a great product for this sort of thing, and they seem to have dropped the ball on this.

Impact absorption is not a primary concern when you have control issues. I do wonder why they have done this to their product. Saucony Men's ProGrid Stabil CS Running Shoe,Silver/Black/Royal,10.5 M US

great shoe. been wearing this make for about 12yrs+. i'm a heavy runner, flat footed, wear rx orthodics. i run long distance, and wear these for the 10-20mi runs. mostly on the road, but have used them for trail runs when i lived in ny. they last the standard amount of mileage, i think. about 300mi give or take.

I've had two pairs of these shoes, and I love their combination of comfort and support. They're the best running shoes I've ever owned...minus one somewhat odd issue.

I purchased my first pair of these shoes from a local running shop, and about two weeks in I noticed the left shoe would hiss, almost like there was a small puncture in the air-fill sole near the heel. I figured I had done something wrong since I was running on a gravel trail and sidewalks near my house. I recently replaced them with a new pair from Amazon, and after three days of just trying to break them in at the office - I haven't run in them at all, and I've only worn them at work - the hiss in the left shoe was there again. It has to be a manufacturing defect of some kind...has anyone else experienced this?

I've emailed Saucony about a replacement under warranty - I've owned the pair for less than 2 weeks. I'll be sure to post an update when they get back to me.

The Progrid Stabil CS runner does what my teen-aged son needs it to do - provide support for his flat feet and correct for his over-pronation. He has one pair for everyday wear and another for when he runs.

I do a lot of walking at my treadmill desk, and this shoe has helped a lot with back pain and stability issues. I initially bought a pair at a local specialty running store (who identified that I overpronate). I was pleased enough with the quality of the shoe that I bought a second pair (for a better price) from Amazon. Since I ordered the same size, the two pairs are identical. I've been wearing them now for just over a year. They're made for running and will provide good arch support, especially for someone who has flat or collapsed arches.

I don't have any regrets, and will likely buy another pair when one of these needs replacing.

So this isn't all the shoes doing... I went to a running store and the owner analyzed my gate (without shoes) and asked me several questions all of which seemed to be "on the money". I have very flat feet and his recommendation was to wear a shoe that allowed my feet, legs, and hips to follow their natural motion throughout my stride. My previous pair of running shoes was designed for people with a completely different foot structure and they were actually putting undue stress on my joints. After having switched to these my knee and hip pain went away and i was able to shave substantial time off my runs.

I highly recommend having your gait analyzed to ensure you are wearing the shoe that is right for you. The Saucony Stabil CS is definitely the right shoe for me. From a quality perspective, i have been putting increasing mileage on these shoes and am currently doing 25 miles per week. These seem to hold up better than other brands i have tried. - Asics - Running Shoes - Mens-saucony - Saucony'

Better Then Boring 360 Games

I play a lot of Resistance 2 and COD4 & COD:WAW. Resistance for its massive battles & COD for the great graphics and super tight play. Killzone 2 is a great blend of each.

There are a lot of complaints about the controls, but none from me. The guns are weighted and recoil as you would expect. The characters move like heavily armored soldiers carrying heavy artillary might. I could see it as an issue if it wasn't equal, but everyone is playing at the same speed and after a very short amount of time, I can say without fail that I am pretty quick with the M82 and plenty of online players that are far superior to me will light you up as quick as any game of Halo or COD.

As far as the graphics, online there is no dropoff compared to the single player. This is the best looking game I can remember playing. I had a difficult time going back to Resistance because it looked terrible after KZ2.

The single player game is ...about like every other signle player FPS that I can remember. Follow a line shoot guys, etc. I only played for a couple of hours to get familiar with the controls before playing online so I can't really speak as an authority on the single player.

The online game has all of the usual suspects as far as game modes go. The new exception is being able to string any of the five together that plays as single game. If you have a squad that you enjoy playing with, this is great. If you jump into a 25 minute game and get stuck with a team of half-tards, prepare to be frustrated that you have to wait 25 minutes to get credited with your experience. It's also worth noting that KZ2 has a similiar level up / xp system that unlocks various items like COD 4. It's about what you'd expect. The battles are awesome and where KZ2 really takes the cake for me is the whole package with 30 people at a time. My biggest complaint with COD4 is 12 player battles on medium sized maps. It is too easy for people to camp and the middle of the screen remain empty for extended periods - especially in hardcore modes where you are playing 1 shot kills.

Killzone 2 doesn't reinvent the wheel and doesn't really offer anything new in terms of gameplay. A similiar thing has happened with the fighter genre. You can only "play guns" in so many different ways, so the next logical step is perfecting the genre, and right now, Killzone 2 is at the top of the heap.

UPDATED:

I purchased the downloadable map packs, Titanium & Steel. One takes place on a moving train, the other in the cruiser shown at the opening of the game. The train is a sight to behold and a snipers dream come true as the action funnels to visible choke points and the map is very narrow. The Vekta cruiser is multi-leveled and circular in shape. It's a stark contrast to the rest of Killzone with bright lighting and vibrant colors. The pack cost $6.00 and both are fun to play. The only problem is not many people appear to have purchased. It is common to find lobbies with the new map pack OR the originals. They're great to see in motion, espcially the train, but not a mandatory purchase at all.

I have such a problem with connection, that I've found myself going back to COD4 & WAW despite preferring Killzone 2's gameplay. Not only am I frequently disconnected, but it logs the PS3 offline and occassionaly locks up the system and requires a hard restart. I've even found myself having to restart my router becuase it locks everything up and I have to reboot my connection. It is exceptionally frustrating to play partial matches and get kicked (especially the longer games) and pop in COD or Resistance and have no issues.

Finally - Clan battles. Ugh. Oddly enough, COD felt like you had to be in a clan to enjoy the game. In fact, it's almost mandatory (log into a match with just a bunch of guys versus a party and get ready to die...a lot, no level balancing). KZ seems to be the opposite. Clan battles have rampant cheating and cheapness you just don't see in the big open matches. I played in a couple clan matches and virtually every negative I'd heard about them was evident(not respawning in deathmatch, hiding the the radio in your base, etc.). I've had a much better time just going from game to game until I find a group that is competitive on both sides. The good rooms are typically set to automatically balance, so a room with a few good players on both sides can be as much fun as any clan battle. Killzone 2

This review is a unbiased, non-fanboy review that will simply state what the game is on it's own, in my opinion. I have a lot of experience in the FPS genre, including competitive play in games such as Counter-Strike, etc.

Killzone 2 is a good game. It's exceptional in some areas, and average in others. It's difficult to describe the gameplay, because it's mixed within itself and some people may get different things out of it; some say it's sluggish, others will say it's fast-paced. It's right in the middle, in my opinion.

The game is very realistic, and I don't just mean graphically. The way you move, the way your gun takes up a good chunk of your screen, the way your character moves; it's no wonder why they have a seizure warning at the start of the game. It's extremely realistic, and it can get very nauseating to play for long periods of time. The graphics are contrasted so well, that often running very quickly through the cities or wasteland areas can cause confusion, especially when you're fighting very up close, you can get disoriented quickly, and often have to back up a bit to see where you are and get your bearings. This is NOT a game like Counter-Strike or Halo, where you can see the entire level, area, and never get confused whatsoever. It's such a far leap ahead of games like Halo that comparing Halo 3 to this game is nearly impossible.

Graphics: --

As I've stated before, the graphics are outstanding. The environments look so very good that when in the dark undergrounds, outside, or running through a ruined city, you feel like you're truly walking through. There's so many objects, areas, and such great atmosphere that it feels like you'll never be able to explore it all; even though in reality it's somewhat linear. The lighting and graphical display in this game is easily the best on any console available, period. Even comparable to some PC Games. I wouldn't go so far as to say the graphics are better than Crysis, but this is the first console game that comes close to contending with it.

Gameplay: --

This is where a major con for me is introduced: The aiming mechanics.

Unlike in other games such as Counter-Strike, Halo, Call of Duty, or whatever you'd like to bring up, Killzone 2's aim, sensitivity, and mechanics feel difficult to control. It feels like you're forcing yourself to turn; the sensitivity, even at the highest level, is slow. For some it may be fast enough, but for veterans, it's slow. On top of the X-Y axis sens. is the fact that it does NOT feel smooth. It starts out slow, and then becomes fast; often making it extremely difficult to keep your aim on an enemy or object that's moving in front of you. For some this may not be a problem, but for me, coming from a mouse; something flawlessly smooth, I noticed it dramatically. Even compared to other console FPS's.

I didn't particularly find the gameplay in itself sluggish, as others have mentioned. If anything it is fast paced, but because the game is so realistic in so many areas, it FORCES you to go slowly because of the way they game is made, and because of how your point of view is close to your surroundings. Often the lighting in the game is so real that you have to stand still for a second and actually see what's going on in detail, this is especially true in the underground, darker levels. It's very unique in that area, but often distracting.

In the game, you walk slowly, but run very fast. Because of how the levels are designed, you don't run very often; in multiplayer I'm sure this is different. In campaign, you don't run often; because it's hard to navigate the twists and turns at such a speed, so the battles may often seem slowly paced. It's small things like this that affect how people view the game as a whole.

Overall the gameplay, in my opinion, is done well, with a few flaws that may be actually very big to certain players. It depends on who you are, what kind of gaming background you have, and how you play.

The aiming mechanic I mentioned is not something to detract from the game as a whole, just the biggest personal con for myself.

Sound: --

Sound is what you would expect. The weapons don't have any special sound to them, nothing that would grab your attention, which isn't a negative thing, just a static fact. The commentary is average, typical war-talk and yelling, cursing, and what you would expect from in-game partners that are supposed to be rough and tough. The explosions, and the surroundings in the larger fights and boss battles are fine; there's really no negative points here for me.

Storyline & Characters: --

I haven't played the previous Killzone, so I don't know the specifics of the story. Picking up the game from a cold standpoint, I can understand what's happening, with a few questions here and there, but overall it's pretty basic. The characters are just fine; men from the army: some loud, obnoxious, with only the desire to blow things up. Others are more selective, and you have the woman for your Intel and lab analysis, and commanders, squad leaders, etc. Standard stuff.

The game itself plays very well mechanically speaking on the PS3; I've played the game for hours, left my PS3 idle, and never had a single slowdown or freeze. So far, no game, not even KZ2, has made my PS3 freeze. The game saves and loads fairly fast, and you rarely ever think about anything other than the action you're in.

Multiplayer: --

I'll only briefly touch on the multiplayer; which I haven't played much of. The maps are very large, which can take some getting used to. It may take you some running to get back into the action, but worth it. Maps are gorgeous as expected, and laid out well as far as what I've seen. Could be balance issues, not sure.

Overall Fun Factor: --

This game is well worth the money spent on it. The graphics are unbelievable; the lighting is some of the most realistic I've ever seen, and the gameplay has a very realistic feel to it; things move slower, there's motion blur, and different things that pull you into the game, and forces you to pay attention to be able to get through it.

The gameplay has some issues, like any other game on the market, but these ones are far inferior to some larger issues with other popular games.

Killzone 2 makes the PS3 shine, and it brings out the best in it. Great gameplay, the best graphics you may see for a good while, a half-decent story for an FPS, a campaign that has a good length, a variety in environments, and a wonderful atmosphere, and multiplayer with good potential and replay value.

Do yourself a favor and pick this one up, but if you're skeptical, at the very least rent it.

(I didn't rate the game 5 stars because no game is absolutely perfect, so don't think there's something gigantic that ruins the game, but it has small flaws. It's one of the best games you could be playing right now; but does not justify a perfect score, no game does.)

::::(UPDATE):::: I may be slow on this update, but I haven't been around much. Although to my surprise, they added the "High Precision" aiming feature in the options menu, which apparently takes away auto-aim, and virtually eliminates the aiming issues I mentioned earlier in my review. Because of this, many things are more smooth and fluent. *****'

Inkjet Printer Ink - all in one printer, hp 564xl

I loved my HP Photosmart D7360 Printer which used the 02 ink cartridges. The colors were clear and bright and the 02 individual ink cartridges ($9.99) lasted longer than the tri-color cartridges. I would only replace the ink that was low.

My new HP photosmart D7560 uses the 564 ink cartridges which were the same price as the 02, however the 564($9.99) ink cartridges don't last as long. To print the same amount of pictures as the 02 cartridges I have to purchase the 564XL ($18.99) cartridges which are 2x the cost!

I was very disappointed that with the newer models the standard ink cartridges now have less ink and the color is not as vivid. HP printers have always performed well for me the the cost and volume of the 564 have been a disappointment! HP 564 Ink Cartridges, Combo Pack in Retail Packaging

There seems to be several misunderstandings about ink replacements.

1. OEM from the manufacturer

2. Remanufactured from a ink distributor

The inks are basically the same, where do you think the OEM company gets the ink? In order to charge more to cover overhead and profits the OEM companies develop things like chips to "read' the ink. When you buy a remanufactured ink product they will not have the chip and "CAN" read empty misleading people into thinking the cartridges are partially empty and they got a bad deal. In reality they just dont have the chip so the computer misreads the info. It is simple to go into the printer software and turn off the chip reading service and everything will work fine except the ink level readings. They arent really accurate anyway. If getting an inaccurate reading of how much ink you have left is that important to you then you will need to buy the expensive OEM ink for that feature. If you want the same ink just a lot cheaper, remanfactured is a much more economical choice. Be sure to check out the company selling the remanufactured cartridges as with all companies selling anything on the internet, some are good and some are bad. The OEM companies have strict guidelines and only buy from the good companies. You need to research and do the same if you decide to buy remanufactured. The cheapest option normally isnt the best, It's the chepest for a reason. There are several reputable companies here in the USA and regulations are more stringent. I would look for that 1st.

Also keep in mind all black inks from either are not the same, some are for Photo and some are for printing. An example is the HP Black XL 800 pages and the HP Black XL photo 290 pages. It is confusing if one dosn't read the box for the intended use. The photo cartridge actually has a greyish color and is for photo usage only and is not interchanable with the Black XL.

If you are in any way handy, several people find buying refill kits easy and the most economical way to significantly reduce printing cost.

Ink is ink for the most part. When it cost more to buy ink than it did to buy the printer you have to ask yourself how the OEM companies "really" make their profits. Especially, when they dont manufacture the cartridges or the ink they put their name on. They purchase BOTH from the companies that ARE selling them to you as remanufactured at a discount for obvious reasons. Are the OEM cartridges and ink really better just because they stuck a label with their name on it and charge us a 300% mark up for a chip?

You will have to decide, but be educated and know your options before you spend.

I purchased a set of five replacement cartridges recently (not really a set, I had to get them from a few different Amazon sellers) because my printer was new (Photosmart Premium, which I LOVE) and I figured that the cartridges which came with it would not last long. Actually, I did a LOT of printing with them. However, when replacement time came, I took out the black xl (not the photo black), twisted the "arm" off of it (I HATE this system they use to get open their cartridges for placement in the printer) and ARRRRGGGGG...the entire "cap" thing came off, spilling black ink everywhere. RUINED my yellow LL Bean shirt, ink in my keyboard, ink on my synthesizer (Kork workstation which sits beside my computer table)...it was a dreadful mess, and three days later, my fingers are still stained.

Anyway, I called HP tech support, who referred me to the design department (which is, I hear, working on a DIFFERENT design because of this problem.) They have overnighted me a replacement cartridge! For free, of course. So even though the design of these cartridges stinks, HP service has always come through for me.

Do not purchase these replacement ink cartridges. We purchased a HP Photosmart C6380 All-in-One Printer from Amazon, which we are satisfied with, but these replacement cartridges will not last. You need to order the XL type, it seems to be worth the extra $$, the XL cartridges actually do last longer. - Hp 564xl - Hp Photosmart - All In One Printer - Inkjet Cartridges'

Mounted our new 65" plasma weighing about 105 pounds according to mfg. I realize it is a couple inches larger than specs say, but this tv is also below weight, so you decide.

Biggest problem was with the bracket that mounts to the wall. It is only about 18" wide. The issue is when it comes to centering on the wall. On our wall, in order to mount this bracket on two studs, the bracket has to be about 4" off center. Since I have such a wide tv, that means that the VESA mount is at the limit on the bracket, and thus you do not have any room to move the tv from side to side on the mount. Further, if the tv is off center on this bracket, it tends to make the tv a bit off balance. Again, the tv we are using is much below the recommended weight, so seems like that shouldn't happen.

I ended up mounting a 3/4 inch plywood board to wall, covering 3 studs, and then mounting this bracket to that board. The tv hides the board, so not really an issue, and it is painted to match the wall.

On the plus side the bracket is great for getting behind the tv, or changing the angle. Seems very sturdy, and indeed held me up ( about 180lbs) when I was testing it.

Out of the box, the bracket is very tough to move, but once the tv is up, the weight of the tv seems to make it move more easily. I went a further and oiled the hinge areas. This greatly freed up the movement, but almost too much, as just touching the tv will allow it to move now. So you might want to avoid doing that.

Lastly, as other reviewers have stated, go to your local hardward store and buy better lag bolts. The bolts they provide to mount the tv seem fine and I used those with no issues. But the lag bolts they provide just look scary cheap and it is easy to believe those that say they twisted the heads off. I tossed mine and upgraded to some nice thick 5/16 inch variety. I sleep with no concerns about them breaking. VideoSecu TV Wall Mount for Most 32"- 55" LCD LED Plasma Articulating TV mount, Full Motion Dual Arm Bracket with free HDMI cable MW360B 1SR

I think this is a good bargain. Hold my 40" Proscan LCD nicely (40 something pound).

It is not super heavy duty but strong enough for new larger LCD TVs

(you might want a heavy duty hanger for larger heavy plasma TVs)

1. You fist assemble the vertical bars then secure it to the wall.

2, You then attach the back plate and TV holding bar to your TV

(it even comes with spacer and many many screws for different type of VESA standard mount, nice!)

3. You then hang your TV to the mount (using the hooks on the top of the TV plate)

4. Slide your TV left or right to position you want

5. Adjust the tile angle with the built-in screw with handle (nice feature)

6. Screw down the 2 secure screws at the bottom of the mount so the TV will not accidentally pop-out.

7. Enjoy your TV.

This is really a good deal (Thirty something with shipping, very good deal).

BTW, the bubble level come in the mount is not mount properly. Use a good leveler instead.

This mount looks very much like the CheetaMount but cheaper.

VideoSecu LCD Flat Panel Screen Plasma 32"- 55" TV Monitor Tilt VESA 660x400 Wall Mount MF606B 1QH

This LCD TV mount is everything you can expect from a high quality product. It is made from heavy gauge steel with a good finish. All hardware is included to mount to any TV specified which I used on a 32" Vizio LCD TV. WarehouseSeller is an excellent seller that sells quality products at a very good price, and very fast shipping. I took a chance on buying this TV mount, and I am very satisfied with my purchase, since a similiar TV mount would have costed me $75.00 elsewhere. I highly recommend buying this TV mount from WarehouseSeller.

I bought this wall mount for my 58" plasma that weighs in at 160 pounds. The installation is quick and easy, and this thing will hold some weight!

In order to set/adjust the tilt you will need to read the other reviews. They mention ways of sticking screws in the slot to stop the TV from dipping too far down. This is an easy fix. The only difference between the $$300 mount at the store and this one is you will need to do this for heavier TVs.

Save your money... Buy this.

This TV Mount is a very good deal, not just for the money. No reason to spend more money on a supposed "better" mount. The one just like it at Walmart is 299 dollars - what a ripoff. The quality of the steel is good and it holds my 42" LG to the wall well. I like the tilt and swivel functions so I can watch TV anywhere in my apartment.

Mounting the TV to the wall can be done with one person without too much hassle but 2 people would be ideal. I did it by myself to get it done. I used 3.5" drywall screws straight into the studs (X4). then the other 2 pieces mounted to the back of my TV easily and I had my TV hung on the wall in 20 minutes or less.

The mount is very solid and does not sag at all. It has built in cable management and looks great once it's installed.

There are a ton of screws to use for whatever TV you have so it comes with everything. I didn't think that the included screws were good enough for mounting to the wall so that's why I used my own (longer) screws to pierce the studs and mount the base to the wall. - Wall Mount - Tilting Wall Mount - Tv Wall Mounts - Lcd Wall Mount'

Floating Strap - waterproof camera

Purchased for use with my new Fujipix 12MP Water Camera - no problem keeping it where I could see it in the water. Camera is submerged but float is large enough and bright enough to spot. I think it is much more attractive than those big multi creased floats. Also has a quick clip so you can easily remove the float when not on the water. Chums Waterproof Camera Float

Bought this for a cruise to use with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2, which Amazon tells me weighs 5.9 oz. It was easy to connect (and disconnect with a quick release), floated to the top of the water quickly, held up well and was easy to see from a ways away. It is much better looking than some of the life vest looking ones on Amazon. Great product that did exactly what it was supposed to.

I saw this item on Amazon, And decided to give it a try based on , some of the other reviews. Well it arrived today, Its bright yellow, Which is excellent in the blue Sea, And looks great paired with my Canon D10, Well I tried it out attached to my Canon, in a sink full of water, And I"m very glad to say, That it kept my D10 floating...........it does its job well, its very well made and nice and soft to the touch, And very comfortable on your wrist, I"m looking forward to taking it on my next cruise vacation to the Caribbean............I highly reccomend it.........

Personally... I don't feel as if any of the foam lanyards are fashionable, or cool. BUT, this one is as close as you will get. And, as an added bonus, it works. I put mine on an Olympus Stylus Tough, and it floats it perfectly. That's what it was designed to do, and it does it.

This has a simple snap so the thick part / float can easily be removed but it won't come off by itself. Bright, comfortable etc.

This isn't enough to float the camera but it will make it easy to find if you drop your camera in the water.

I wouldn't consider bothering with a camera case as this float is way too big to fit in a case.

This is a simple product that works. The yellow color is visible in the water. Without the strap, the camera sinks to the bottom, with the strap, the camera stays close to the top. I was worried the weight of the camera would be too much for the strap, but the strap stays 1/2 above the water. There's a quick twist release that allows you to remove the yellow handle when you are not using it in the water. I have both the camera strap that came with the camera and this one together. The yellow strap fits comfortably around my wrist. I guess the only enhancement to this strap would be an adjustable collar that would allow the user to tighten or loosen the wrist strap depending on the size of their wrist.

The Chums waterproof camera float works great for a GoPro HD. It was a little larger than expected but the size works out great to slip over your wrist in or out of the water. Several times I found myself stuffing the camera inside my pocket to swim "camera free" and not having to fiddle with velcro or clips is a big plus. It was easy to swim with the wrist strap on and camera in hand down to 20' or so and the float easily brought the GoPro back to the surface when "freed". Also it was a bonus always being able to find the camera with the bright yellow strap attached. Whether stuffed in a pocket or free floating it is quick to locate.

Check camera weight before purchasing...some cameras will still sink.

My only negative is the float strap u place ur arm thru is non-adjustable. If ur arm is too big, it becomes harder to handle while ur trying to stay afloat.

Positive: Cheapest Camera float strap out there.

Expresso Maker - expresso maker, espresso maker

The Bialetti Moka Express 3-Cup Coffeemaker is fantastic. I enjoy it immensely. Word of warning, don't forget to put water in it before placing on the stove! And if you have a gas stove with an open flame, do not use a flame that exceeds the size of the coffeemaker. The handle will melt.

This product is the most awesome product I've come across in a long time. For being extremely simple to use, it sure does produce an amazing cup of espresso. Love it, love it, love it! It came highly recommended by a good friend of mine and because of that, I ordered one from Amazon.com and am surely impressed! I recommend it highly to those of you who love a good cup of espresso and who doesn't want a complicated product. So easy to use! Magnifico!

This unit is a great little device for making strong coffee (somewhere between espresso and regular coffee, closer to the espresso side) in an elegant way, and it's designed to last a long time.

The coffee produced is extracted using steam that is generated when the bottom part of the pot gets heated from placing the unit on a stove top. You have to experiment to find the right low-to-medium heat to get the best results. Too low and it will not boil, but you probably want it just above that and not too hot. I have found a setting where it will boil in 5 mins, and then the coffee comes up in 1 minute or less. So, a total of 6 minutes, which is not bad at all. As mentioned, what's produced is close to what we call "espresso" in the US, but it is not the same thing. It is not as strong and with not quite the same taste as full-blown espresso created using an automatic or semi-automatic espresso maker. It's much stronger and more flavorful than regular coffee, though. I used the same Intelligentsia Coffee House Blend (a great coffee) through my French press and then the Moka pot, and the taste difference was eye-opening. Apparently, these stove-top coffee makers are the norm in Italy, and practically everybody has one.

If you enjoy taking your time making your coffee, this is a beautiful unit that creates great coffee (and apparently it gets better over time, as the coffee oils seep into the aluminum). And as mentioned, it's actually not that slow. It's a nice "coffee ritual." It's made in Italy. It only has three parts, which are easy to clean and look virtually impossible to break, so it will last.

The only potential downsides are:

(a) you need coffee ground to the correct size. Either you should get pre-ground Illy Coffee or else you should get a good grinder that can grind to just above espresso fineness. When using whole bean coffee, our old blade grinder does not work well at all with this (sometimes it's acceptable, sometimes hardly any coffee comes out), but we have a Vario on the way, so all is good... But it is a given that a grinder is extremely important regardless of what method of coffee brewing you use. So -- get a good grinder!

(b) you can only make the same amount of coffee each time. For example, we have the version that says 6 on the side (6 cup?) and it makes just enough for my wife and myself. (It doesn't actually make 6 cups, as far as I can tell -- it's more like 2 cups for us). That is, you cannot just put in less ground coffee and less water to make less coffee. If you do that, the mechanics of the steam don't work and you won't get proper coffee as a result. So, make sure you get the correct size for your use.

This thing is so cheap and well-made that anyone who loves coffee should have one around to try out or for occasional use. Ours will get regular use, alternating with our French press. I was very happy to find this.

After a trip to Spain where one of these little coffee makers was in the apartment where we stayed, I returned and purchased one, in spite of owning another pump driven expresso maker. This little guy makes very smooth strong expresso. Really not sure why I spent the money on a more expensive style expresso maker, when these little pots have them beat for great tasting expresso.

You won't be disappointed.

This item yields excellent coffee as long as you have good quality beans, way better than Starbucks in my opinion. Be careful with the handle though when you tighten it. This is my second moka express purchase because I broke the handle.

Too many words would ruin the simplicity and elegance. It simply makes delicious espresso, quickly and with a minimum of effort. Cleans up in about 2 minutes...I take mine camping.

The "cup" ratings are for small, traditional sized espresso cups. If you like to pour a mug full of espresso, then divide the cup rating by 4 to arrive at an approximate size for your "machine". My nine cup maker gives me 2 full sized mugs of rich coffee. For you "crema" people...there is none.

It is inexpensive, relative to plug in type machines, so it is as nearly a risk free purchase as you can make. Enjoy. - Bialetti - Expresso Maker - Coffee - Espresso Maker - Latte - Stovetop'

Optical Swim Goggle - swim goggles, swimming goggles

I have tried many goggles to keep water out of my eyes while swimming laps in the pool. None have ever worked until these goggles. They are easy to adjust, snug fitting, but still comfortable, and they keep water out of my eyes. They do fog up after a while, but this is not a problem for me. I have used them for three weeks, so I can't comment on how long they will continue to work effectively. I'll come back to this review in a couple of months and update it. Highly recommended.

Update -- I like these goggles even more than I stated in my first review. They are genuinely confortable and do not allow any water in to my eyes. Five stars is correct.

Last update. After three months of daily use these googles seem to work even better than when they were new. They keep water out of my eyes and I hardly know I have them on. Excellent product! TYR Nest Pro Performance Goggle (Smoke)

In short - just what you expect from goggles - fit, seal, comfort, no fogging. All of these and you don't even know they are there:

I dive with them on into my 60-80 laps routine, and do not have to adjust them even once! Have been swimming over 25 years, tried countless goggles, mainly Speedo. Few were as good as these. Definitely none of the recent high end Speedo (cost more than twice) were even close to these. TYR - way to go! TYR Nest Pro Performance Goggle

Good goggles for hours of training in an indoor pool. I don't like the standard darkened tints when swimming indoors. These goggles with their yellow tint are perfect - everything is bright and sharp. The frame is made of a very soft material and is large enough to sit comfortably on your face for hours without pressing too much on the eyeballs.

I am new to swimming and my normal bi-weekly workout is 32 laps. After trying a half dozen different googles I was convinced my hurting eyes and head were my destiny and I just had to swim through the pain from my googles! The Nest Pro googles saved my love for swimming! Out of the box they fit my head perfect. Not a drop of water has entered the googles and I don't even have the straps tight! I am ordering a few extra as spare. LOVE THESE GOGGLES!!!

I'm an enthusiast triathlete, and I used a lot of "training" and "active" goggles, actually I'm training with Arena Nimesis and TYR Nest Pro, and the quality of the TYR goggles is superior. I barely noticed that I have them on when I swim, they are extra comfortable, perfect fit and no water leaking. Awesome product! recommended.

I have been swimming for exercise for 5 years now. I swim a mile, 5 days a week. I've tried many types of goggles. I have yet to find any, including these, that really keep their anti-fog so I don't much bother rating on that. I am very much concerned with water tightness and a comfortable fit. These are stellar in both categories. You don't have to tighten them a great deal either. The goggle eye piece reminds me of the suction cup type material and is soft and pliable in that way. They are airtight and these are the most comfortable goggles I have ever had. I will definitely keep buying this type. Although they do leave some marking (raccoon eyes) you cannot feel any pressure or discomfort at all. Again I haven't found any goggles that don't leave some mark if they are airtight and you wear them for an exercise session. I have had goggles that felt like they were gouging me. These sit perfectly on the contours around the eye and work like a charm. If you could find these that kept anit-fog up you would really have something. I rate them 5 stars because compared with all I have tried, both expensive and less expensive models, they are the best.

i bought these to replace a pair of tyr socket rockets. these definitely fit nicely on the face with absolutely no leakage, but i really missed the visibility that the racing-style goggles give you. im not a hardcore swimmer (at best i am a 'casual enthusiast'), but racing goggles give me visibility that makes me more comfortable in the water. these are great for what they are, but were definitely a step down for me.

These goggles are great. I had a previous pair that I received in a goodie bag at a triathlon I competed in about 2+ years ago. I loved them so much that I had to get the same pair. They fit my face great and I don't have problems with leaking like some other goggles I've tried. - Ear Plugs - Earplugs - Swimming Goggles - Swim Goggles'

Portable Cd Players

We have this CD player in our kitchen so that my toddler and I can enjoy his favorite tunes while I'm making dinner or whatnot. He climbs onto the counter and gives this stereo such abuse, and touches all the parts you're never supposed to touch on a CD player, and yet it still works perfectly! I'm really impressed by this machine. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that is does make a quiet electronic "hum" when it's plugged in. It doesn't interfere with the quality of the music at all. But if you're in the room and all else is quiet, you'll notice it. For this reason, we keep it unplugged when we're not playing a CD. Otherwise this CD player is great! Coby CX-CD241 Portable CD Player with AM/FM Stereo Tuner, Black

My experience with this boombox was horrible. I bought it, it worked fine for the first 4 days, then the cd player got messed up. It wouldn't load my cds, instead, the cds would spin out of control in the player. This boombox is not recommended.

When I was christmas shopping, I thought this looked really cute, and I figured, "Hey, it's cheap, and looks good." So I bought it. It worked pretty well for the first couple of days, and then the CD playing system on it just decided to stop working. I checked all things that I might have possibly done wrong, but I didn't find any. When you try to load the CD, it doesn't let you play anything. I would not recomend this product for whoever wants to buy it, because it did not work like I wanted it to, and it made a pretty lousy Christmas present after I found out it had broken. DON'T BUY THIS.

Alas, it makes a very noticeable hum even when it's OFF! I have to unplug it if I want the noise to stop. Very disappointing.

But if size matters to you, it's worth mentioning that it's surprisingly small, especially in comparison to other portable stereos. It is easy to carry and fits anywhere.

(edit dec08.2006: and now it's incredibly fickle, frequently interrupting a cd with "ERR" or not even playing it at all. i want to replace it, but where are all the red cd players?)

I should have read the reviews closer myself before buying this....mine just inexplicably quit working after only having it a few months. Dont buy this piece of junk...there is a reason it is priced cheap.

I bought this product so my 3 year old son could listen to music before going to sleep in his room. It is terrible. There is a constant hum as long as it is plugged in. The volume of the hum depends on how the power cord is angled at the back of the unit. The CD player never worked right. After a few songs there is a "ER" message on the screen. Most of the time I can't even get it to play a CD. I'm very disappointed. Don't buy this product.

Sadly we received the product broken. It wouldn't play beyond the half way mark of any cd. In requesting a replacement the company returned the money without any comunication. It was rather strange but they refunded the money so one cant't complain.

I know this was not the top of the line radio, but I only needed it to play children's cds for my infant son. The cd player part is broken it will not play cds. The radio part works. However, that is not why I purchased the radio. Would not recommend to anyone.'

Laptop Battery - laptop battery, e1505

As I'm writing this the resplacement battery for my 4 year old Dell Inspiron is working just as it should: It charges and I get hours of use when unplugged. Actually, far more time than the orginal 6 cell battery. As long as the new power cell funcitons for a year or so, I think this was money well spent. Let's face it spending around $30 on an aging but very functional Laptop, so that it really is portable, is very appropriate. On the other hand spending 1/3 to 1/2 the original asking price of the laptop for any accessory is not acceptable. Who does that? Does Dell really sell those batteries? Probably not and that's proably why they're so expensive. Even if the replacement only lasts a year, I could buy 4 of these for the price of the Dell original equipment battery and am I really going to be using this computer 4 years from now. My advice, if your PC is still functioning properly but is no longer portable due to a dead battery, spend the $30. [7200 mAh 9 Cells] Super-Capacity Li-ion Battery For Dell inspiron 6400 inspiron E1501 E1505 Series fits 312-0427 312-0428 312-0460 312-0461 312-0466 312-0467 312-0599 312-0600 451-10338 451-10339 451-10424 451-10482 GD761 KD476 PD942 PD945 PD946 PR002 RD850 RD855 RD857b RD859 TD344 TD347 TD349 UD260 UD264 UD265 UD267 XU937 Laptop Notebook Battery

This product didn't work for me, and apparently I'm not the only one.

Actually, the battery worked for about four days. Then, somehow, my Dell Inspiron 6400 discovered that it was not a Dell battery, gave me error messages to that effect on start up, and stopped charging the battery or using it.

After googling around, I discovered that this is a common occurrence in Dell laptops. Dell laptops and batteries contain circuitry to monitor whether your battery is a Dell brand battery. If it's not a Dell battery, your computer stops using it.

Unfortunately for me I had discarded the box and packaging and as such was not able to return the item.

Perhaps your particular Dell laptop won't act as mine did, but I'd say you are better off not gambling. I managed to find online a new Dell branded battery for cheap, not from Dell. Go that route. And, next time you buy a computer, don't buy a Dell.

I should have followed the other reviews. this product (laptop battery) does not work in my Insipron 6400. when I first received the battery it worked well. now after less than 30 days. when I click on the power icon, it states it is 89% charged. when the AC power plug is removed. the laptop go's dead. it was a waists of my time and money.

Fine finish, good durability but the machine [DELL] has not the right time when it is nearly finished loading. And this happens only with this battery.

Otimo acabamento, boa durabilidade mas a máquina [DELL] não apresenta o tempo certo quando está próximo de terminar a carga. E isso acontece apenas com esta bateria. - Laptop Battery - E1505'
