Knife Block Sets - ginsu, stainless steel
I bought this set for my MIL who is always coveting my set of Ginsu knives. I have the full block set which includes the steak knives & kitchen sheers. She didn't need the steak knives, so I bought her this prep set. I was disappointed to that this set is not a full sized set. The length of the knives is written in the item description, but I think they need to make it more obvious that these knives are a miniature version of the full sized ones. Douglas Quikut 4859 Ginsu 5-Piece Stainless Knife Prep Set, Natural
These four knives are good looking and sharp. And I really mean sharp. They can easily slice vegetables and the like. They have a good nicely balanced feel in your hands. I also like they dont take up too much room on your counter. And for the selling price you cant go wrong
Ginsu 4859 5 piece Stainless prep set
These knives are amazing for the price. You can't beat it! They are sturdy, cut amazingly well, never need to be sharpened and I haven't had any problems with rust! I never put them in the dishwasher because I know that they would probably start to rust. Its so easy just to hand wash them. Nothing will stick to the blade so its an easy rinse wipe and your done! For anyone looking to buy great knives but don't want to spend a lot of dough, this is the buy for sure!
These are possibly the sharpest knives that I have ever used in my life!! Apparently all these years I've been using dull/below average knives. The reason that I did not give 5 stars is because the block that it comes with is not truly made for these knives. They fit so-so into the slots. The smallest knife we actually had to force into the smallest slot. Other than that I would recommend these knives!! Fantastic!
The size of this set works well for me in my kitchen - would recommend it to amateur cooks of limited time and finances - gourmet cooks would of course not be interested in this size of set. A good starter kitchen item. Very sharp and serrated knives are easy care (except do not wash them in the dishwasher!) Most of us just want the knife to work when we need it and don't want to spend time sharpening. I did take exception to the stated price - $50. I got mine on "sale" for $20. Another example of the confusing price structures out there, with everything in the store way overpriced to start with and then heavily discounted to draw customers and give them an indication that they're getting a great deal. Still, it drew me in and it's a very handy and attractive set for my needs.
The knife set looks great and the knives are sharp. Unfortunately they are Not Rust Resistant. After the first wash, I left them out to dry on the rack and surprise surprise, small rust stains! The set is inexpensive for a reason, I suppose. If I could do it over again I would definitely Not buy them. I would have been better off buying 1 $30 dollar knife of high-quality and building a set, knife by knife...
I received this Ginsu knife set as a Christmas gift. I wanted them because my dishwasher had basically destroyed my wooden handled knives. My husband and I began reciting the infomercials about Ginsu knives that we both had seen growing up when I took them out to use them. We didn't expect much from them because we both felt that those types of things they sold on television were never as good as the actors made them seem. Also, they were very inexpensive compared to the other knife sets I looked at, which is another reason that I chose them. I didn't want anyone to spend too much money on me. But the low price made me fear that they might be junk. I am so pleased to say that I was very wrong. These knives are far from junk! I can honestly say they are the best knives I've ever owned. They are incredibly sharp and extremely sturdy. In fact, both my husband and I cut ourselves the first time we used them. Now we are VERY careful. I have to admit that I don't know what one of them is supposed to cut. But it doesn't matter, because the other three cut everything I need so I'm not too concerned. The quality of these knives is superior! - Ginsu - Knife Block Sets - Knife - Stainless Steel'

Kindle Dx Screen Protector - screen protector, kindle
What a complete waste of money. Even though this product claims to be matte and reduce glare, it simply doesn't do it. There is more reflection of light (especially with indoor lighting and book lights) than there is without the "protector." Definitely do not buy! BoxWave Kindle DX ClearTouch Anti-Glare Screen Protector (Single Pack)
I just got my grandson a Kindle DX for Christmas, which is truly wonderful (I hope he feels the same) I got him the clip light, adaptor, light bulbs and the screen protectors, also. All is wonderful except the screen protectors. They are expensive for what you get, don't exactly fit and there is no way to remove even half of the bubbles, which is extremely aggravating and quite noticed by the child. We ended up taking it off and I doubt it will ever be put back on. Who knew bubbles would drive everyone nuts???
I found little value for the Anti-Glare Protector... I cannot tell the difference between having the Anti-Glare screen protector and not. That said, it does give the Kindle DX screen additional protection from scratches, etc. But at just under $[...] (including standard shipping) it is no bargain!
Obviously does the job of protecting the screen. Not terribly difficult to put on though a little patience smoothing it out is necessary. I found there is a glare which isn't there with a naked screen.
I came here to give this product a 5-star review, and was surprised to see that most reviewers for this product considered it 3 stars or less (21 of 29 people.) If you're trying to decide to buy this or not, that's a lot of unflattering feedback to overcome.
Usually, when I buy a screen protector for things like cell phones, I opt for Zagg protector. But for the Kindle DX, this Boxwave screen protector is by far better than Zagg. However, the Boxwave is much harder to install satisfactorily. But if you succeed, it is practically indistinguishable from the DX's own screen.
First a few comments comparing Boxwave to Zagg, and then a few secret-squirrel tips for a perfect Boxwave installation:
* Zaggs are slightly stretchy, which means they can tolerate dust underneath them a little better, without forming visible bubbles. Boxwaves will form a bubble with even the tiniest spec underneath. (But see my tips below.)
* By itself, the Kindle has a kind of mild glare that scientists call a "diffuse reflection". Boxwaves have a diffuse reflection that is essentially identical to the Kindle's own, meaning that you (or at least, I) cannot tell any difference between them. Zaggs suffer from harsh glare ("specular reflection" in nerd-speak,) which makes them very annoying on a Kindle's otherwise gorgeous screen. This is a big deal.
So despite the Zagg's superiority when it comes to bubbles, I have to recommend the Boxwave for Kindle due to the glare factor.
Now for my installation tips:
* If possible, buy this Boxwave protector at the same time you buy your DX. The DX will come with a temporary screen protector, which will keep the screen dust free until you are ready to install the Boxwave.
* You want the air in the room to be as free from dust as you can manage. So, when you are ready for the install:
0. Read all these directions before you start.
1. Go to your smallest bathroom, turn on the shower as hot as it will go. If there's a window in there, shut it. Then leave for a few minutes with the door shut. You want the room to get fairly steamy, like until your entire bathroom mirror is fogged up.
2. If you have centralized air, turn it off. Since our goal is to get all the dust out of the bathroom air, the last thing you want is fresh dust blown in through the A/C vent.
3. Once the mirror is fully fogged, turn off the shower, then shut the bathroom door and let the room settle for a while. When the air inside the bathroom no longer feels thick with moisture, you can begin the installation. (NOTE: try not to open and close the door more than necessary. Obviously, you'll have to at least once. But open and close it *very* slowly, so as not to kick up dust. It doesn't take much air movement at all to get dust airborne.)
4. Take your DX and your Boxwave in there. TAKE A ROLL OF SCOTCH TAPE WITH YOU. (And possibly UNPOWDERED latex gloves, too.) SLOWLY shut the door.
5. Put on the UNPOWDERED latex gloves, if you've got 'em. This *might* help keep dust from your own fingers from getting on the sticky side of the Boxwave. (I never tried this, myself.)
6. If you heeded my advice above about leaving the original temporary protector over the Kindle's screen, remove it now.
7. Apply the Boxwave as per its instructions. It will probably take several attempts/retries before you get it squared up correctly on the Kindle screen. I start from the top edge (farthest away from my body,) and work towards the bottom.
8. If you get small bubbles: they might be air pockets, or they might be dust. If you can move the bubble with the squeegie card that came with the Boxwave, then it's an air pocket; just keep moving it to the edge of the Boxwave, and then it will be gone for good. If you can't move the bubble, or it flattens away and then reappears, you've got some dust trapped.
9. Dealing with trapped dust:
* Roll up a small length of scotch tape, sticky side out.
* Lift up just enough of the Boxwave to get access to the dust particle.
* Use rolled-up scotch tape to remove dust stuck to either the Boxwave, or to the Kindle.
* Reapply Boxwave
NOT WORTH $24.95 HERE IS WHY: I Applied it just as directed in the instructions and there are still small bubbles visible on the screen. This is very distracting while trying to read. I wrote to the Box Wave Company about this issue and they did not address the bubbles but talked about DUST,here is what they said (I cut and pasted from email): Applying a large piece screen protector unit can be a bit more difficult for first time users. Fortunately, the ClearTouch has the washable and reusable feature that allows you to try again if the first attempt wasn't successful. I just want to make sure that you are aware of this and are getting the most use out of your purchase.
A tip to a successful application is to apply the ClearTouch in a dust-free environment. You can do this at home by applying the ClearTouch in your bathroom after a hot-shower. The steam in the bathroom can help prevent dust or lint from getting on to your screen during the application.
You can also remove any additional dust particles with a piece of scotch tape. Simply use the tape to "un-stick" the debris.
I would suggest not peeling the whole cover off when applying to the Kindle. Instead, peel back the backing on the cover about 1 inch from the bottom and place it on the bottom of the Kindle screen and gently keep peeling back the cover until you reach the top of the Kindle.
I did exactly as directed again, NO DUST but, still tiny bubbles.... - Kindle Screen Protector - Kindle Dx Accessories - Screen Protector - Kindle'

Comfortable Boxers - kint boxers, underwear
These should be marked for what they are, or rather aren't, because I'm not sure what they're really made of. They are not all cotton which is what I expected. Two pair say 75% cotton/25% polyester, but feel more like 50/50 with low-grade materials. The other two pair say 100% cotton, and feel exactly like the first pairs. They don't even make good rags. Put the price of these toward some good underwear; it's your privates after all. Fruit of the Loom Men's 4-Pack Stripe/Solid Assorted Boxer Briefs,Assorted,Medium
I purchased these because I was running low on boxer briefs and though the striped colors looked cool. They're cheap and get the job done, but the fabric is a bit rough on the skin. So far the elastic bands have been holding, but they do not seem that strong so I doubt they will last after a few washings. - Comfortable - Boxers - Kint Boxers - Underwear'

Epic Military Fantasy - fantasy, sword and sorcery
The Calahrian Empire still teeters from the assault of the elf witch Shadow Monarch whose allies include the new even more violent Viceroy of Elfkyna. Their greatest unit against the evil insurgency, the Iron Elves, remains disdained by their people for the tattoo representing their subservience to the Shadow Monarch. The people feel this way in spite of their great victory led by Commander Konowa Swift Dragon preventing the Shadow Monarch from obtaining the Red Star at the Battle of Luuguth Jor (see A DARKNESS FORGED IN FIRE).
Instead of lifting the frost fire curse from his men by using the Red Star, Konowa gives it to the Elfkynal; angering his soldiers who saw brothers in arms die and return as shades or maimed in the battle. Prince Tykkin directs Konowa to retrieve a new Star reported in the Hasshugeb Expanse. Konowa knows the witch will seek the Star too so he needs reinforcements so he sends Iron Elves to recruit those peers who failed to return when the unit was reactivated. He tries to calm down his outraged unit who believe they should be freed first and then defeat the evil while he deems they must defeat the evil first. At the same time the Shadow Monarch sends her servant the Viceroy of Elfkyna to darken the woodlands while a new flame has arisen that eats the shadow from the body until the person expires; death in those cases does not mean returning as a shade.
Although the overarching theme does not move forward, the second Iron Elves high quest fantasy is a great tale as Chris Evans expands the author's world adding much depth to it. The story line once again focuses on Konowa and his unit who though victorious still hurt mentally and physically from the recent battle and their commander's decision on the Red Star. Fans will enjoy this fine entry as Konowa seems on the verge of PTSD caused not just by sending men to die knowing they are cursed to become shades, but also having to make difficult decisions, which keep his men in harm's way.
Harriet Klausner The Light of Burning Shadows: Book Two of the Iron Elves
This book continues where book 1 left off. Konowa and The Iron Elves are destroying the Shadow Monarchs trees on islands on their way to the desert on the south. There Konowa hopes to meet up with his exiled men, the true Iron Elves and with them take up the fight to banish the Shadow Monarch. But as they come closer darkness is growing, and there are rumours about another Star falling in the desert. Everyone wants the starts power for their own purpose, and Konowa knows that he held it once and did not free his men from their terrible oath, but can he do it again?
I really liked book 1, A Darkness Forged in Fire. It was good, and then suddenly it was so good that I did not want to put it down. Not the same feeling here because all books are different, but this was still great epic fantasy, and after reading this I do want to read book 3 that is out sometime 2010.
A negative thing about this book is that he did not move forward the possible relationship between Visyana and Konowa. Are there to be more books? Because then he movie it slow, as it was now they did not even say a word to each other. That was a tad bit slow since there obviously is something there.
The other negative part for me was that this was mostly about Allwyn, yes he was crucial to the book as he can see their fallen comrades and talk to them, he has a tree for a leg and he can handle the dark magic the best. It was his story in a way, still I missed Konowa.
But don't get me wrong, this was still good fantasy. The battle continues and I am really starting to like the different soldiers, while not so much others. Here we learnt more and got to see more of everyone, and of course big epic fight in the end when the star has come. The Empire wants it, the desert wants it, mysterious powers wants it, the Shadow Monarch wants it, yes it's not an easy battle and he manages to surprise me in the end.
Good old fantasy, with a big slice of military, I do like it. I will always like fantasy the best because it has this way of capture me the most. It's the excellent world building, the thought behind the political unrest and so forth. Oh and gotta have a nice map too, I want to see where I am going. This book has all those things, and I hope book 3 keeps up the good pace.
"They might be doomed, damned, and buggered for all eternity, but that didn't mean they couldn't sparkle like a diamond in the sun and grin like a skull in the moonlight on their way to oblivion."
In this second installment in The Iron Elves series, Konowa Swift Dragon has convinced Prince Tykkin that he needs to reclaim the original Iron Elves who were dispatched across the ocean and stationed at the backside of beyond when Konowa was originally dismissed after murdering the first Viceroy. The prince agrees, but mostly because he's heard rumors of another Star reading to appear in the Hasshugeb Expanse where the Iron Elves are stationed -- which just happens to be the rumored location of the fabled Lost Library of Kaman Rhal. So, the Iron Elves set off on another adventure to find the new star and keep it from the Shadow Monarch, but in the desert they encounter another ancient force which is bent on finding the new Star and bending it to a different, darker purpose.
All the seeds planted in A Darkness Forged in Fire have definitely grown into fruition here. The action in The Light of Burning Shadows picks up shortly after the end of the first volume and the reader is quickly swept away into the story once again. Evans sets a swift pace, and this book centers more on the characters, with slightly less military action than the first volume. The characters are where Chris Evans really shines, especially with the attention paid to the ordinary soldiers in the regiment -- not just the commanders. The relationship between dwarf Sgt. Yimt Arkhorn and Private Alwyn Renwar (who lost his leg at the battle in Luuguth Jor and has a new one fashioned for him from living wood by elven magic) is particularly well written. Alwyn is a main character in this installment, as he struggles to deal with the effects of the curse and his ability to see the Darkly Departed -- the shades of fallen Iron Elves who still protect their regiment.
The main fight in this book isn't between the Iron Elves and the Shadow Monarch, but against this new power coming from the desert. This creates a fresh take on what is essentially the same quest as in the last book: capture the Star, break the curse. The new villain brings political machinations to the forefront, which allows many of the characters to grow and develop. Evans writes with a brilliant evocative pose that captures the pride of this cursed regiment: "They might be doomed, damned, and buggered for all eternity, but that didn't mean they couldn't sparkle like a diamond in the sun and grin like a skull in the moonlight on their way to oblivion."
There were many moments in The Light of Burning Shadows that had me laughing and there were a few shocking twists -- one in particular made me go back and read it again just to verify that I had actually read it correctly. Add in fast-paced action, intriguing characters, tight plotting, the addition of a map and a glossary, and you've got a book that's nearly pitch perfect in every way.
I can't remember the last time I slammed a book shut in frustration at the end -- because I was going to have to wait a year for the next installment. I don't want to wait to find out what happens next for the cursed Iron Elves, bound by an oath to a dark magic that ties them even after this life. Mr. Evans, please please, please write quickly! - Good Characters - Fantasy - Dark Fantasy - Sword And Sorcery'

Bathroom Faucet
Ordered this faucet on somewhat of a "lark" for a bathroom I was re-doing. It came in very good time. I had several problems, but customer service took care of one and the others were more or less my responsibility. (1) The supply hose (1/2") did not fit my shut-off valve threads (3/8"). I went to both ACE Hardware and HD, trying to find a reducer that would fit, both size and threads. No luck. But at HD, the plumbing guy and I finally came up with the solution to get a couple of short supply hoses that were 1/2" on the end to couple to the included hoses and 3/8" on the other end that fit my shut-off valves. This solution worked just fine, just have a little extra hose under the cabinet, but not too much. (2) The second problem was that the included "O" ring did not fit the "groove" properly. I cannot over emphasize how helpful customer service rep Kathy was in helping to fix this. They actually sent me a whole new set that had been returned for some reason, including the "O" ring and told me to keep it all for spare parts. (3) The third problem, completely the fault of my valves, was that when I shut off the water under the cabinet, I think something in the shut-off valve malfunctioned. If I have the valve completely open, it works fine except the pressure it a bit too much, but no leaks; if it is turned down, so that the water pressure is lower, it leaks. And this faucet definitely needs a lower water pressure, so I will be replacing my shut-off valves in order to control the pressure. Otherwise, the faucet works great and is a real attention getter. I had company this weekend and everyone had to go and see it. It was pretty easy to install, which I did about 99% by myself, and I'm a 65 year old grandmother. I did use quite a bit of plumber's putty to avoid leaks around the bottom of the faucet simply because that's what I've always done. I think this is a great buy, for the uniqueness and for the functionality, especially at the price. Temperature Sensitive Single Handle Centerset LED Lavatory Faucet, Chrome
Product packaged well and as described, good installation instructions and all hardware included for easy installation. This is a very sturdy faucet with nice finish, a little noisy if turned full blast but full blast is too much pressure for bathroom sink anyway colors change quickly wit temperature change, has only been installed 2 weeks but everyone that has seen compliments it.
I love this faucet. It is so cool that all my friends coming to my house want to check out my bathroom.
It works really well and I will order another one for my other bathrooms. Highly recommend it. I had a plumber installed it for me, and he said the product is very high quality. It took him 30 minutes to get everything done.
I was so excited about getting this faucet, and it even came a day early so I could work on it over the weekend. I am not a professional plumber, but I am an engineer, very handy, and the description listed this as easy to install, so I thought I would give it a shot. First thing I always do is read the instructions all the way through, and after reading them I was more confused than I was before I started. The text instructions refer to 2 fastening poles that are used to hold the faucet to the sink, one picture shows the poles, but the part diagram shows a single large threaded pipe, which is what I have. In addition the pipe does not fit in the hole where the faucet goes. I went back and reread the website description (because the instructions are worthless) and it clearly says "Faucet Hole Required: Standard US 1/2" Diameter " when I measured the hole in my sink it is very close to being 1 1/4" so it should fit, but the threaded pipe is just over 1 1/4".The instructions also say if you have any trouble to refer to the "Customer service section" of the pamphlet, but guess what? There isn't a customer service section. When I look up Beelee on the internet it takes me to a Chinese website (www.beelee.cc). I can find the faucet, but all the phone numbers are Chinese, absolutely worthless. I tried to find a phone number here on Amazon, but nothing. It now looks like I am going to have to drill my sink to make the hole bigger, or return this faucet. I am completely worn out and frustrated.I have a neighbor that is a professional plumber, hopefully he will have some ideas.----------------------------------------
Ok I finally got this installed. I had to replace the shut off valves under the sink because they were 3/8" and this faucet wants 1/2". I also had to buy a dremel so that I could widen the opening in my sink. Now that it is installed I have rasied my rating to 3 stars. I see several design flaws that could easily be fixed by the manufacturer. 1. it is way too tall, the faucet easily dominates the bathroom the center stem should be lowered by at least 1". Also because it is so tall the water splashes all over.
2. the glass is not angled enough. If you don't have enought water coming out then it starts to flow back up underneeth the glass.
3. Air bubbles easily form and prevent the lights from turning on. I have to turn the water on slowely so that air bubbles don't form.
4. the drain plug in the back of the faucet is really stiff because it has to fit is a very small tight space that is also occupied by the hot and cold water pipes.
5. I had to play around with how much pressure from hot and cold water that I let in so that the water did not come out too fast and cause more splashes with warm water. However, when using just cold or hot the water pressure is only half so the water flow is reduced and sometimes just trickles out. This could be solved by haveing a built-in pressure regulator in the faucet that kept the pressure the same wether using only hot or cold, or both.'

Nice tin & good ideas on the cards.
My only problem is that it states up to age 12 for this one, and it was a little boring for my 10 year old. I do think that children under 2nd or 3rd grade will love playing this, so I will keep it in mind for the younger ones, but the age recomendations are not totally accurate.
It does have great ideas you could even use on road trips or just for fun anytime, so it's a keeper. Nice little tin it comes in too, easy to pop in your purse for when the family is eating out and need something to do while you wait for your food with younger kids. Family Time Fun Dinner Games and Activities
Wasn't sure how to rate this. The overall concept is very simple, and the activities easy enough where the cards are almost silly. The thing is, they are simple, so why did we never think to do them before? It does help spark some dinner time fun, but once we read through the cards, it's not something we look back at. For example, one game is to do a round robin and each family member says a word in a different language. Another is to take something off the table and guess what is missing.
The kids do have fun with the games, and with some imagination you can do this one on your own.
Excellent dinner entertainment. The game arrived in time for use at a Thanksgiving dinner I attended. We utlized several questions/activities during and after dinner. The oldest adults were in their forties and the youngest child was six, and we all enjoyed the activities. I can see this box of ideas becoming a requested dinner party activity for years to come.
This has changed everything! We have always tried to have dinner as a family, but with complaints about the menu, sibling arguments, and general fatigue at the end of the day, it's made me wonder if it's worth it. This game has reminded me that it is! Every night we have fun at dinner.
- Games can be enjoyed by a wide variety of ages
- The varied topics prompt sharing, silliness, test memories, and help the older ones teach the younger ones
- They are so simple that the children can modify them to come up with their own new games
Now we linger at the table, kids eat without complaints so we can keep playing (including young guests who insist they don't like salmon or spinach salad!), and my children say, "Are we eating at the big table tonight? Do we get to play Family Dinner Games?"
We have a 9 year old and 6 year old and they love this! My 9 year old daughter literally pulls this out every night and dinner and gets so excited to read the cards and start the games. This is wonderful and we will be giving this to her friends as Birthday gifts - its so great for families!
With a busy family, it is sometimes difficult to get everyone to the dinner table at the same time. It seems like meals are rushed and abbreviated. Sadly, we often don't even make small talk while we're eating because we're so focused on what's next on the "To Do" list.
It is important to restore and protect the family dinner table. This game is the perfect way to do that! Our son loves this game and he usually gets to choose the "game" card. The nice part about Family Time Fun Dinner Games and Activities is that none of them are long, dragged out games. Even our teenager likes to participate and we all learn more about each other every time we play and we always have a great time!! I HIGHLY recommend this product to any family! This game is great for early readers through adults!
My 5 year old son makes us do at least one game from this tin every dinner. The cards are color coded by educational skill (Numbers and Math, Social Skills, Silly Games, Phonics and Vocabulary, Creative and Critical thinking, and Memory games). My son loves to pick out a card, tell us which skill it is, and read us the directions. Now these are simple games that I'm sure you could think of on your own, but it's so much easier to just pick a card at random and go with it. We've definitely had more laughs and good conversation at our table since we received this game. Great product.
This game consists of a nice tin that holds durable laminate cards. Each card has the instructions to a "dinner game" printed on it. The instructions are easy to follow and it only takes a few seconds to grab a card and begin playing a dinner game.
Having this box of games has brought my family closer together! Before I got this game, my kids didn't want to sit at the table as a family and endure the usual "How was your day?" discussion. Now they are excited to sit at the table and play the games. The games fall into different skill sets (phonics, social skills, silly games, etc.). When I watch my kids giggle and try to think of something for their turns, I am amazed at how much of a different dinner-time experience this game allows us to have! My whole family is happy to be at the dinner table together when we play Dinner Games!'

Ipad Speaker
I purchased several docking units for my IPad, IPod & IPhone and had to return them all. Needless to say I wasted a lot of time & money returning items. I also needed this item to have speakers & play music with great sound quality. Finally Haier has met those expectations. I received this item yesterday and the first thing I needed to do was to see if it was compatible with apple productions because all of the other units were not. I was happy to see that it worked. So if you are looking for a product to do these things this is your item. Haier "The View" Docking System for iPad/iPhone/iPod
We bought the Haier Docking system specifically as an audio/video unit for a new iPad 2 with landscape capability for our kitchen. Since the connector is universal across Apple products, I figured that in the worst case the thinner iPad 2 would have to be "padded" somehow to fit properly. Unpacking und setup were easy and pretty obvious. We had initial problems with placement of the iPad 2 into the connector receptors (both horizontal and vertical), but have figured out by now the best way to hold the iPad 2 to make sure the connector seats properly. In Portrait mode (vertically), the mating connector at the bottom of the Haier unit is spring loaded and it takes a bit of practice to get it matched up to iPad 2, but once placed properly, the iPad sits reasonably solid on the dock. In landscape mode (horizontally) the connector is on the right side. Even though this connector is not spring loaded, it again takes a bit of practice to line it up properly with the female connector of the iPad 2. This is mostly because the Haier dock is indeed designed as a dock for the original (bigger) iPad and/or smaller iPod units. The thinner iPad 2 sits somewhat skewed and loose in the dock in horizontal mode. It is, however, pretty useable despite the loose fit and we decided against a home made padding setup to make it fit more solidly. Using the touch screen in landscape mode is no problem, but I would not recommend trying to type long essays on the touch screen keyboard in this position (it is too loose and too vertical for comfort). We matched a bluetooth keyboard to our setup for email, web browsing, etc which also comes in handy as a "remote" for iPad AV control (since the included remote for the Haier dock seems to be more designed for iPods and is pretty unresponsive for us). We also downloaded the free Haier app that works as an alarm clock etc, but after playing around with it for a while decided against its use. It is clearly designed for the smaller iPod screen only and does not offer us anything that we need.
Pro's: Pretty decent sound system. Component video out and mp3 player audio in (although we have not tried these two features yet). Universal dock for anything i
Con's: The remote included with the Haier dock is pretty unresponsive and we find it virtually useless. No audio out connector on the dock, so the video hook up through component cables has to use the iPad Audio Out line (maybe that is the reason why the Video Out feature only works with the bottom connector in Portrait mode (mounted vertically) per Haier's manual). And obviously the geek in me had wished for a USB port on the dock, emulating the expensive Apple "camera adapter"
The sound quality is horrible. You would think having an Ipad and a long list of music/videos the quality of the sound would be half way decent in a docking station. Not this one. The app. is cheesy and it doesnt preform its jobs either. Overall it is pretty crappy.
The unit itself is OK but does not work very well with the Ipad 2. I thought the first unit was broken actually as the bottom port for docking it in portrait mode is movable. I returned & replaced it only to find out that port is for whatever reason supposed to be movable. With that being the case it's very difficult to get the Ipad 2 docked to it. The bottom port is the only port that works for video out & that is one of the main reasons we chose this unit. Can dock the Ipad 2 in landscape mode a little easier, but since the unit is not really designed for the 2nd generation, it's really not a good fit & was concerned it would end up damaging the port on the Ipad 2 itself. Sound quality was OK. Remote control is very cheap & buttons tend to stick. Ended up returning the 2nd unit as well & will wait for something else to become available designed for Ipad 2 that includes video out option. If you're using for 1st generation Ipad or other apple devices it's probably OK as long as you don't mind the sound quality & cheap remote.
Got to say right off that this is a well built unit. It has a hefty weight and quality that surprised me upon first opening the box. It was easy to set up and the sound was everything I had hoped for. I had several disappointments though. First, the remote did not respond very well. I invested $40 dollars for some component cables and hooked it up to my Samsung HD LED TV per instructions. However, the video out feature was difficult to get to switch to out and takes some playing around with to get it to work. It did play my regular itune installed videos but the sound came fron the unit and not the TV. Strangely, it would not play the iPod 4th generation camera created videos but would display the camera's own snapshots (in slideshow mode only). Still, if you are looking for a docking unit that recharges Apple's iPod/iPad line and has great sound, then this is a good unit. I wouldn't buy it for the video out feature though I guess you could justify it if all you wanted was to display your snapshots on TV. For playing videos internally, the landscape mount is a real plus.
After hemming and hawing for a few weeks I finally decided to give this one a go. I was just looking for a docking unit that
a.) charged while it was in use
b.) had decent speakers (i like good sound but didn't need these to be INSANELY awesome)
c.) displayed both portrait and landscape.
d.) had an appealing, well built base.
e.) bonus points for being able to connect to the tv.
I thought this lil guy had it all. But I'll be honest.... the sound is just OK. When I turn up the volume, the sound begins to distort - no matter what the volume is on the iPad itself. The unit advertises the subwoofers as if they were substantial, but I found them lacking. And when I went to connect the unit to my television I was unable to make the connection work. I ended up keeping it out of sheer laziness, but probably should have returned it and saved my money for something nicer.'

this stuff is amazing, believe me, I am the hardest person in the entire world to please and have fallen victim to commercials, ads, magazines and spent so much money on products that I am embarrassed to say the amount. this is the only thing I have used that actually made a difference. I am 51, been using it for a month now. People say I look ten years younger. I love the way you can actually feel it tightening your face, and yes it is true, you actually do notice the difference after the first treatment. NO LIE. I trust Swisa Beauty completely, and also love their body lotion. Just wish they would get the fragrance "Joop" back. It was my favorite. Don't buy this stuff in the Mall, they charge too much, and I don't trust some of them. Get it here on Amazon for great prices or their web site. Its worth the shipping wait, which is super fast. If someone has complained about it they are either lying or have had too many skin problems during their life. This stuff is all natural, and pure. I have been using their products for several years. Teri in Houston, Texas Swisa Beauty Non-Surgical Face Lift Kit
Wow! The first time I used this product I thought "I don't have time to sit or lie down for 30 minutes for this to dry." After getting through the 30 minutes, I couldn't believe my own eyes. I saw a huge difference and decided that 30 minutes was nothing for what this kit does for your face. The results were so remarkable that I purchased another Non-Surgical Face Lift Kit for my mother on Mother's Day. All I can say is Wow! A must try!
I purchased this kit because of the strong reviews. When I received it, I saw that the primary ingredient in the mask in ALBUMIN (egg white). Some people are sensitive to albumin, although not allergic.
I followed the instructions precisely, even adding a second layer as directed. I did not feel any pulsing or throbbing of my face or neck. The mask pulled DOWN on the outer corners of my eyes and eyebrows.
When I removed the mask I was red and blotchy. I could not have gone to work or gone out in that condition. But more to the point, there was no difference in the smoothness or tightness of my skin. I'll be returning the kit.
I AM POSTING A PHOTO ABOVE, SHOWING WHAT I LOOKED LIKE AFTER THE TREATMENT.
I love this product. After reading many positive reviews I decided to give it a try. The product arrived quickly and was beautifully packaged exactly as shown. I was anxious to try it right away! Mixing up the face lift was simple and took only moments. The enclosed brush made it very easy to apply. The directions are simple and easy to follow. I sat back and watched a movie while the product worked its magic. You feel a slight pulse as the mask dries and tightens. After 30 minutes the mask rinsed off easily with water and left no residue. I then applied the moisturizer and serum. I use the moisturizer twice a day. It is non-greasy and leaves the skin feeling soft. Since receiving the product I have used it three times and love the way my skin and face feel afterwards. I am 52 years old and look much younger than my age, but was starting to see sagging jowls and deepening smile lines. I had cystic acne in my youth and have many scars on my face which accentuate age lines. I can see a very subtle softening of the scars and the age lines aren't as prominent as they used to be since using the Dead Sea Face Lift Kit. I will continue to use this product in hopes that it keeps working its magic. It's also an inexpensive and safe way to feel great!
The kit should have involved dead sea powder, and an activator, so that you can make a mask. When the package arrived I had the moisturizer, the activator, the serum, but no powder. Just called Amazon customer service, and a new package was at my door next day! Nicely packaged product, looking forward to using it after these reviews.'

You would think that a white phone picture means a white phone!!! I ordered just on time to receive the phone and travel with it as a gift and I received a Black phone instead!! I want my white phone! Who knows how long is gonna take to exchange it! Blackberry BOLD 9700 Unlocked Cell Phone with 3.2 MP Camera, 3G Support, Stereo FM Radio--International Version with One Year Warranty
Nowhere on this product description it says that this item is NEW, yet they make you believe it is. Don't be fooled!! this cell phone is not new. It looks different from the original official white blackberry phone.. this phone came with black headsets and black case, when the white phone usually comes with a white case. Also, there are parts of the phone that look like they're not new, including the screen. Also, there was music and apps installed on the phone, as well. Don't be fooled.
The first problem I had with this product was the colour of the case, I ordered in white and it came with a black back case. This item was sent as a gift to a person outside USA, so when it get to its destination, the cellphone didn't work. At first, the product started normally, but in a couple of hours it turn off and never worked again.
I wish we could try to get to an agreement, but I'm really upset about the purchase I've done.
OMG! This phone is AMAZING! I got SO many compliments on it!!
I bought it from this seller AzrakMohitWadi.. VERY nice people. Got the phone Instantly in a few days.
The phone itself has so many features. And I can't stop talking about how amazing it is.. OMG Yay! - Unlocked Phones - Wireless Accessories - Blackberry Bold 9700 - Electronics'

Pandigital Photo Frame - digital photo frame, digital picture frame
I did tons of research before purchasing as I bought a total of 8 frames as Christmas presents. 3 of these and 4 of a larger one.
First the Pros...the quality is unsurpassed for the price! 800x600 is incredibly clear and the frame is sleek and slimline. It is also pretty simple to use, it can zoom, rotate and crop, even though I did have to reference the directions for how to save the changes to the pictures. I was very happy with these.
Now the cons...it supposedly has internal memory but I didn't find an easy way to utilize it (from what I saw you have to transfer the pics manually, one at a time into the internal memory from your external memory source! why bother?) I did order 2gb sd cards to use with them since they are pretty cheap and hold a lot of photos but unfortunately I didn't realize that the sd card would need a writer to put the pictures on it (so I ended up running to Walmart for an $8 reader/writer) I think the easiest way to use this frame is to plug in a flash drive, your computer won't need anything special to put pics on it, just try to find the smallest one possible as it will stick out the side if its too big!
In the end the quality over triumps all the little issues I've had and everyone was so happy to get them at Christmas, of course it helps when you do a little leg work and gather pics from friends and family to preload. I got sereval tears this year, its going to be hard to out do these next year! Aluratek ADPF08SF 8-Inch Digital Photo Frame (800x600 Hi Resolution)
Hi
i was confused to go for it or not. But ordered finally.
I received it and its really is a good deal
Photo quality is really crisp and clear.
the Adapter is of 100-240 So for those who want to gift it outside US , this is going to work .
I tried it one full day and neither the adapter nor the frame getting very warm.
the only draw back which others might ignore is
When it stats up it lands in a page asking what you want to do? go to setup or show calendar or show photos.
Well i will be happy if it directly shows the calendar or the photos (if memory is attached) rather asking it .
When there is a power failure it stucks in the main page
This is a very basic digital photo frame that has a beautiful picture quality. I was amazed how crisp and clear my photo's looked as I had another frame that did not look so good playing the same pictures. Once you power the frame on and insert your SD card the slideshow will start automatically. I like how easy to use it is as I am giving to my mother in law who is not very tech savy. I believe for the money you are getting a great value in your purchase. Highly recommend.
This is a very basic photo frame. I knew this when purchasing, although I didn't realize quite how basic. The good things about this unit are its low price and superb picture quality. I really don't think I could be more pleased with the picture quality. On the other hand, you will need an SD card or USB drive for this thing as the internal memory is next to nothing. I got two pictures on it before it said it was full. I'm guessing it has about 256k. Also, if you plan on using this for portrait photos, you will need to rotate them 90 degrees on your computer before saving them on your SD card or USB drive as it shows all pictures in landscape mode, no matter which orientation you place the frame in. I looked for a "portrait" mode that would make this step unnecessary but couldn't find one. So, it's basic, but you should expect that for a $40 item.
why buy more expensive picture frame with build in memory when u can just add a 4gb sd card for 10 bucks.
screen is nice and bright
easy to use
looks like a good quality product, no problems so far!
great mothers day gift!
I was looking for a replacement for an old digital frame. This is larger, pics are sharper & it has a timer function that shuts it off every afternoon, reminding me to go home!
I don't use any other functions so can't add anything there, does everything I need & does it well.
The visual quality is pretty good. I found the instruction manual skimpy and poorly written. I managed to figure out the controls but mostly intuitively. I tried to go to Aluratek's web site to get more information and could not find this particular model. They have apparently discontinued it and replaced with a newer model. The newer model comes with a remote control and USB cable which this one didnt'. So, get the newer model; it's was only $10 more.
Received this nifty little frame for a x-mas present and was pleasantly suprised on how awesome the picture quality is. Pictures can play in a slideshow and it is very easy to move picture files from my computer to the frame. Highly reccommend. - Photo Frame - Digital Photo Frame - Digital Picture Frame - Pandigital Photo Frame'

Benchtop Planers
I was one of the first to get the DW734 from Amazon. Other than the 3-knife head (with 2-sided disposable blades instead of resharpenable) and some styling details, the 734 planer appears to be identical to the previous model, the 733. I haven't been able to get any detailed info on changes between the two models from any source I researched. It was set up right on the money out of the box except that the cut depth gage is off by around 1/128" (not enough to matter). I was pleased that it came with a dust hood (4"), something not listed in any of the info I was able to get before the purchase. The cut is silky smooth--unless you look very closely in bright light on a darker wood surface (like walnut) you can't see any blade marks at all.The machine functions very well--easy to set up, the controls operate very smoothly and precisely, and each of the features works as expected without needless fiddling. The dust hood, even though only 4", clears chips and dust very efficiently. The only time any chips escaped was when I tried to take 1/8" off of a 6" board (a no-no according to the owner manual), and then I got a little puff of shavings out the feed end. (My setup is a Jet DC1100CK 1 1/2 HP dust collector connected via a 6" shop duct system, blast gate, 6" flex pipe and a reducer to the 734's 4" dust port.)I did have problems with a little snipe when attempting to take more than 1/32 inch in a pass--I may be able to adjust this out of the planer, but I often make two passes anyway: one to thickness and one to surface.I was surprised to have several small nicks in the blades after planing perhaps 8-10 bf of scrap (carefully inspected/cleaned beforehand), probably due to contaminants in/on the boards. In one case a small knot apparently made a nick. This was disappointing as the planer only comes with 1 set of knives and a new set is fairly expensive. Two passes at the same thickness setting makes the nick traces all but vanish, but this means passing the wood thru the planer 3 times to avoid snipe and nick traces. Perhaps the nicks were a result of embedded sand or silica in the particular scraps used, not something that will happen on a regular basis. (Although my Jet jointer didn't take any nicks when I jointed the same scraps.)It appears to have the same fit and finish as the more expensive the Delta 2-speed, but the 734 is lighter and more portable. But I'm told the Delta unit is less prone to snipe. I chose the 734 over the 733 because of its disposable knives (I don't have a very trustworthy sharpening service near me) and because of the 3-knife head, which should save me some sanding. If those things aren't important to you, the older 733 might be a better value, while supplies last.Based on my short experience, I'd recommend the 734. I withheld 1 star because of the snipe and nick problems. DEWALT DW734 15 Amp 12-1/2-Inch Benchtop Planer
I purchased this machine about six months ago after being extremely impressed with my neighbor's DeWalt DW733 planer.
After just a few uses with some Pine boards, I felt that something wasn't quite right. After calling DeWalt and explaining the problem best I could, they were stumped and suggested I take it to my local DeWalt service center, which happened to be just a few miles from my house. After a week or two, the said they had found nothing wrong with it. After testing it upon return, I could definitely tell that something had been fixed, tightened, adjusted, whatever. It worked great for a very short time after that on Pine and Cypress boards, but more problems began developing. Dull blades seemed to be the culprit, so I attempted to flip them. But guess what -- one of the blades had already been flipped! I replaced all the blades with new ones and the difference in performance is incredible. It is now the wonderful machine that impressed me so much at my neighbor's. But I'm puzzled as to why my blades needed replacing after very little usage on soft lumber.
Quality control seemed to have skipped my machine for some reason, but now that the bugs are gone (I hope), this is a great planer. I'd give it 5 stars, but I'm giving it 4 for the bugs I had to deal with. One other quality control problem: the data sticker on my machine says it's a DW735 13" Thickness Planer! The folks at DeWalt sure were shocked and confused at that big oversight.
By the way, buy or build a stand for this machine. I built a 2-tool, flip-top stand for about $50. Unless you always have a helper handy, you can forget about moving it on a regular basis. Besides, the vibration tends to move the machine if not bolted down.
Lastly, buy hearing protection. Unless you're already deaf, you'll need it.
UPDATE: After about a year of use, this planer continues to be a wonderful machine. However, be warned that the blades dull very quickly. My neighbor owns the DW733 model and he is still on his original set of blades after 2-3 years of use while I'm on #3 after one year of use. We both generally plan the same stuff at the same frequency of usage using only a 1/64" cut with each feed. With replacement blades at $50 a set, this can get very expensive.
Hats off to Dewalt on this one. I purchased this planer about mid Dec. (3 weeks ago) I have use it several times, mostly on 3/4" maple with a few other matrls. thrown in. It has performed wonderfully. The dust collection shute is a big plus and works fairly well with my heavy duty shop vac. I suspect it will work even better with a good dust collector of 500 or more cfm.(My next purchase) The three blade system leaves a VERY smooth surface (mimimum sanding with fine sand paper for a stainable finish) Most of the wood I have ran is not more than 7" wide and at 1/16 depth of cut. The unit is capable of more buy why heat the blades. Snipe has been virtually none. A very small amount of snipe occured when I went for a deeper cut on a 7" wide maple board. The depth of cut gauge on the infeed side is about the best idea ever, (other manufacturers take note) and the preset finish cut depth can be somewhat handy as well. The two handles on the top outside of the planer make it very easy to move around my garage, into the pickup, or on to the elevated bench where I keep it out of the way when not in use. If i had any complaint it would be this...If the dust shute had a quick disconnect or latch type attatchment, it would be handy so that the outfeed table could fold up for storage without having to break out any tools. A minor inconvenience that has no effect at all on performance. If your'e looking for a portable garage/jobsite planer, this one is up to the task. You will be pleased with the results. P.S. I haven't had to change the blades yet, however, I did open up the unit and did a "mock" blade change to become familiar with it...very easy to do requiring no special knowledge or tools..Good job Dewalt.'

Elementary School - smelly markers, kids
I have had my Mr. Sketch markers for four years and they still have not dried out. While I have lost some of the doubles to the colors like black... having used them heartily and not been easy on them for FOUR freaking years.. when they finally did begin to dry out I said "I'm looking for that specific brand again" by then Mr. Sketch had become like a friend to me. He has been with me through thick and thin and everything inbetween... he made most of my projects when I was a Junior in High school in California. I'll never forget the chocolate smelling snake I drew on poster board to review "Bless Me Ultima" Mr. Sketch's friendly face was there. These markers are FUN. They smell great. The case they come in is teal, a lovely sheeney teal. My favorite shade of teal in fact. They lasted for four years. I kid you not. These markers are worth much more than the asking price and I was tickled to find it on amazon.com. Buy Mr. Sketch! He is Mr. Awesome! Sanford Mr. Sketch Assorted Scent Markers 12 Pack (20072)
I love these markers. I remember using them in elementary school, and am now once again using them in my teaching methods classes in my fifth year of University. They last forever and are something that both kids and adults can have fun with. If you have projects for either yourself or kids in your life that require markers, buy these! You won't regret it. :)
I am a preschool teacher and I love these pens...the children especially love to use them and smell them telling what brown smells like, ect... It's also funny for all of us when there noses get colored too!
I LOVE THESE MARKERS!! I remember using these when I was in the Second grade! I almost totally forgot about them until I was watching 'OverBoard' with Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn. She uses them to make his presentation for the golf course. Once I saw that I had to get some of my own before they disappeared off the face of the earth. The scents are great and I love using them for anything. They are the best scented markers in the world!!
I remember markers like this when I was a kid. Flash forward, now I'm taking my own kids to a Children's Museum and found the markers there, for $12.95 a box! No way...I can find them cheaper than that on Amazon! And I sure did. The company was a great to work with, the shipping was very fast and the markers smell just like they did when I was a kid. The blueberry is my favorite....
Corporate trainers and teachers have been noticing for two years that the quality of Mr.Sketch markers has dropped significantly. The tips do not write well and they are not "juicy" enough, so letters on a flip chart can no longer be seen at a distance. Calling the company (contact information below) just confirms that they know they have a problem and are "working on it" but there is no solution yet. Very disappointing for us very loyal customers who have insisted on what were the best writing, non-toxic, brilliant colored markers out there at a reasonable price. Please join in and urge them to return to their prior quality. Newell Rubbermaid Office Products Group (formerly Sanford)

I purchased a set of these markers years ago and have used them for years. They are so long lasting, I just purchased my second set a couple of weeks ago. These markers have great chisel tips and the scents turn adults into little kids - sniffing markers and guessing scents. I am not a teacher, I am an HR professional so I don't use these everyday but they have held up over time - even when not being used. A lot of markers dry out - these do not . I would highly recommend this product.
I grew up as a child of the 80's, Transformers, G.I. Joe, and that awesome cherry marker that I could spend hours sniffing. If you remember the Styrofoam and cardboard box you may be a bit upset you can't color the markers locations (they no longer have the styrofoam) but everything else is there especially that amazing red marker. I won't lie while I'm old enough to have kids using these I totally got them for myself a great trip down memory lane for a couple of dollars. I haven't actually tested them to see if they write but honestly if you want markers to draw with I think you're missing the point here. - Art - Kids - Scented Markers - Smelly Markers'

Playstation 3 - ps3 controller
im serving a deployment and waited for this for item for awhile when i finally recieved it my excited was ruined when me and a friend finally tried to play a game together and come to find out the controller which was brand new did not work. Wired Controller for PS3
I was very disappointed to receive my controller and find out that it does not work.
Let me also say that this is the 2nd controller that I attempted to order through Amazon and the 1st one worked for a week and then did not work after that. I am thoroughly disappointed.
I received my controller fairly quickly and thought that it was just a controller without a battery. When I tried to use it however, I discovered it was much worst. No PS button, right analog does not work. Feels super light and fragile. Basically feels cheap all together. From the looks of it, it may only be good for parts, assuming u are good at fixing real controllers. Don't expect this to be like the real thing or even like a good generic one
i havent used it yet, i just opened the box it came in, but this controller seems to be made of cheap plastic and just doesnt have the same feel as a normal controller. i suppose it'll be fine but from the looks of it, i think you'd be better off buying an actual sony brand wireless controller. - Ps3 Controller'
