Unlocked Blackberry - iphone, storm2
I ordered this phone and got it very quickly which was a pleasure. The phone came in perfect condition and is unlocked as advertised. However, the description states in bold that the phone comes with a 16gb micro SD card and original accessories. Up to now I cannot find this 16gb memory card. I have e-mailed the seller and am awaiting a response. I was very disappointed to see that I did not get this piece as I considered it a good part of the deal! Blackberry Storm2 9550 Unlocked World Phone
Unfortunately I can not says good things, I have complain about that Item...
When i opened the case and checked the mobile, I saw 2G function is not working, only the 3G functions is working.
Then I inform the Amazon about that incident. They send to my complain to the supplier, Supplier doesn't want to change or take back the mobile...
For that reason I am not happy to use that mobile without 2G function. So when you buy some electronic Items directly check and if some problem send back to the suppliers within one month.
Regards,
I'm not exactly a BB person, but due to conveniences with my friends and family I decided to migrate to it. I looked at the options available and came to the conclusion that the Storm 2 was the best option. The phone is just great! the touchscreen works very smoothly and overall the applications are what I was expecting. The only issue was that I couldn't make the EDGE connection work with my carrier. The phone is fully unlocked for calls but you need to verify first if the data connection will work with your carrier. Out of the 4 carriers in my area, the phone only worked with 1 (All carriers are GSM/3G). Also, the phone didn't come with the 16GB microSD card. However, this was easily fixed by calling Amazon. They were extremely helpful and willing to give me a solution so I could get this card.
This phone is really great. The capacitive touch screen is perfect. Once you fool around with it for a few days, you can figure it out. It is business friendly and looks very good as well. You have documents to go to view and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. It is Quad-band unlocked GSM phone which you can use all over the world.
So, why did I give it only 3 stars?
What they don't tell you is that it is unlocked for voice but not for data. In other words the only way that you can get BIS (Blackberry Internet service) on it, is to have a company like Verizon which operates on CDMA technology. You can not get BIS for it in Europe or many parts of Asia. I am stationed in Kuwait in support of the US Military. My Kuwaiti sim card works in storm2 as far as voice and making calls are concerned but you can not get BIS for it.
If you live in America or do not care to have BIS, go for it. It is a great touch screen phone with outstanding capabilities.
I placed an order for this new phone from Amazon, The seller was JTOWLE... when I received the phone I observed that the phone had some glue stains smudges & scratches!!!!! It appears that I was sold a refurbished phone instead of a new phone which I ordered from JTOWLE.... I emailed both JTOWLE & Amazon & to date I haven't gotten any reply from either of them.... People be awear of the phones they claim are new phones when infact they are selling you refurbished old phones!!!!!!
Given the usability and power of the Blackberries I have used so far, I was having high expectations when I bought this Phone. But it lasted only until I got the phone. Setting up the phone was not so straight forward. Not because of the UI or anything, but RIM's much touted implementation of touch screen. While every other touch screen implementation is a "touch screen", RIM's implementation is a combination of touch and click. So if you want to click a button, the touch will select the button and pressing again to click will trigger a real press on the button. While in theory this can save the user from unwanted clicks, the main issue with this is that the click doesn't work really well in every part of the screen. Especially when you have a button on top left corner, clicking that will take all the energy you have. I almost felt like I will break the screen. The clicks on the center of the screen as smooth enough so its not a big deal for most buttons. Except when you use keyboard. I really dont know how a company like RIM is allowing such a product to be released to the market when such a big usability issue exists.
the next big problem with the phone is with the network service. While it supports data via Wifi and 2g/3g networks, I dont see an option to force the phone to use only the Wifi network for data. ( Or at least this is not so intuitive if such an option exist).
Installing and using apps also was not so simple. I downloaded and installed Google Talk, and on trying to login, it keeps giving me a message that The service is not enabled for this phone. I am not sure what this means at all. For comparison, I have done this on an Andriod phone and that was pretty straight forward. No issues at all..
In short, If you are a techie who wants some adventure ( really?? There are so many better ways to get the thrill than setting up and using a phone). Stay away from this.
Or if you need enterprise email etc and have an IT department to help you setup this for you, then you may consider this. Or else never even think of it. Android is way better for the common man. - Storm2 - Iphone - Unlocked Blackberry Storm - Blackberry Storm'

Portable Digital Tv - portable tv, battery operated tv
I purchased this TV /DVD player as a Christmas present and was shocked to find that the T.V. did not pick up one channel with the antenna provided. I got a booster antenna at Radio Shack for $12 and was able to get 22 air channels. The DVD works well and the colors are very nice. I'm not too sure how well it will work when we get out next hurricane or how long the battery will last, but this is why I purchased this item. Philips PET729/37 7-Inch LCD Portable TV/DVD Player
Philips PET729/37 - 7 Inch LCD Portable TV / DVD Player
I purchased this as a Christmas gift for a friend and I always like to set things up to make sure the item is working before I give it to the party in question.
Setup was a breeze, very intuitive. I hooked it up to the cable system and it found every channel, it only took about 5 minutes and I was watching a very sharp picture on the 7" screen. Sound was good also, I think she will be thrilled with it. I got this as a lightening deal, but I think it is worth the full retail price.
Wow! what a deal. I purchased this for myself for Christmas of 09. It arrived quickly. The picture is very clear and the sound is loud enough for me. I pick up all the digital channels, even some I can't receive on my cable tv. The only thin complainant I have is that you can't control the on and off and the sound from the remote. But I still give it a five stars rating. Also it really sounds great when you hook up some small media speakers to it. If you can, get one that has a sub woofer. Pop some popcorn and enjoy.
I bought this tv/dvd player as a treat for myself, after saving up loose coins all year. I first purchased another brand (the Envizen), but the dvd player had problems, and it took a lot of effort to get any tv stations, so I returned it. But this Philips is wonderful. Without any effort at all, I received 10 local stations, easily and clearly. I lucked out and bought this product before the price went up, so I feel like I really got a great bargain. This is a great choice if you want both a dvd player and tv (especially if you have a power outage and are trying to keep up with the news...like during a blizzard such as I'm in the middle of now!).
This is #4...I've been looking for a "portable" TV since last summer, the 3 previous..would not receive any channels without hooking up to a antenna system. They were "back in the box" the same day. This unit found 5 with it's own antenna...good start. Picture is clear..display...full control of picture and channels. Remote controls everything, except ON/OFF and VOLUME.
The "fold" open/close is real handy, protects screen and a stable "foot" to set on a surface...DVD seems ok too(really just wanted a tv). Only feature missing is a "card slot"...pictures and music have to be on a disc. For the price..I rate it #1 value. Setup menus were very easy, speakers have good volume.
I AM EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THE PURCHASE OF THE PHILLIPS PET729/37 - 7INCH LCD PORTABLE TV /DVD PLAYER. TALK ABOUT PORTABILITY, IT IS THE GREATEST. IT IS VERY LIGHT AND WAS EASY TO SET UP. THE TV AND DVD 'S COME IN VERY CLEAR. THE SOUND IS EXCELLENT AND LOUD. I WORK NIGHTS IN A PEDIATRIC HOSPITAL, DURING MY LUNCH TIME I CAN WATCH THE TV OR PLAY A DVD FOR A SHORT PERIOD. SOME OF MY CO-WORKERS WHO HAVE SEEN THIS HAVE ALSO BROUGHT ONE. I ALSO GAVE ONE AS A GIFT. I ALSO RECOMMEND BUYING THE TARGUS DVD 301 10 SPORT PORTABLE DVD PLAYER CASE. IF YOU BUY A 7 INCH CASE YOU WON'T HAVE THE EXTRA SPACE FOR THE EXTRAS. THE CASE ALSO HAVE ROOM FOR A LOT OF DVDS AND ACCESSORIES EASILY.
I DO HAVE ONE REQUEST, I WISH THE PRINT ON THE QUICK SET-UP GUIDE WAS LARGER, ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE OF US WITH BAD EYE SITE. BUT DON'T LET THAT STOP YOU FROM BUYING THIS ITEM. THERE IS AN INSTRUCTION MANNUAL INCLUDED. I WAS SO EXCITED THAT I TRIED TO TAKE A SHORT-CUT TO SET IT UP.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
All in all, this is an okay item. Having read previous reviews, I followed to the letter the bit about scanning for stations prior to trying to watch station. I used the antenna provided, and came up with most of the stations, except for our local ABC station. I'm in Los Angeles and have line of sight to Mt. Wilson, so not getting ABC was a shocker. I got 64 stations in all. I read about the antenna booster thing, and did not know what that was. Went to Frye's and they sold me an amplified antenna (which I am taking back). I got 76 channels with that, and ABC came in. I'm going to try the booster antenna question at Radio Shack as per one gentleman's review, and see if that will be better than carrying around this thing from Frye's.
My concern with the antenna as provided, is that I plan to use this when traveling and will need to rescan for different cities. I would like to be able to get the full range of broadcast stations, ensuring I have access to the major networks as I travel. Not getting ABC in the LA area is what drove this concern.
As for the TV/DVD itself--once the channels are found, the provided antenna works well. Signal gets noisy/loss when you move the player itself, which is a surprise since you would think the signal would be dependent on antenna placement more than the TV itself.
I have two major disappointments, which make me wonder if I should return the unit. After looking at other TV/DVD combo options available, I think I will keep this one and compensate, unless I decide to get only a TV unit (sans DVD player for which I can use my laptop):
1. The screen angle is not very forgiving. Being LCD, you have to look pretty much dead on. If you move above or below, or left or right of the perfect viewing angle, you begin to see the image in negative mode.
2. If you plug in the earphones, you cannot control the volume. I guess I need to find and use a pair earphones that has its own volume control, such as the new Apple ones.
3. When I first plugged in the earphones, I had volume to the max (so I could hear the thing). After plugging in the earphones, sound leaked from the speaker. I dialed the volume down using the volume dial, and that took care of the problem, but as stated above, it did nothing for the volume going through the earphones. That leads to believe that the volume controls only the external speakers, and is totally disconnected from the earphone jack.
Other peeves--volume control missing from remote control--seems like this would be a no-brainer, but....Also, volume is not very loud if you use the speakers. I had it on in the kitchen, even before meal prep started, and I could not hear it from the table to the stove, about 9 feet away. Also, there is the likelihood that volume that comes through the earphones is as loud as I can get through earphones, then earphone volume is going to be inadequate if I am in a noisy environment (back seat of a minivan, commuter train, Amtrak, etc), anyplace where ambient noise may be a bit much. And, I think i read somewhere in the product description that it was a black unit. Mine is white on the outside and is black only when you raise the screen--black on the inside. This is ok with me, but some people may object to the white exterior, especially if kids are involved!)
The goods-it's lightweight and easy to handle. I can watch a DVD anywhere, as long as I keep viewing angle dead-on.
REVISED COMMENTS:
I got the volume control bug worked out. It turns out that there are two plugs, one blue and one yellow, that the earphones will work with. One turns out to be the "line out", the other is the earphones jack. Neither is marked, so if you did not pay close attention to the picture in the manual (which, obviously, I did not) it is easy to confuse the two since you get sound out of the wrong one. While I had the player running, I did try moving the earphones to the other plug, but got no sound, so I stuck with the original plug, which I now know is the wrong plug. Once I turned off the unit, plugged the earphones into the other (blue) plug and turned the movie on again, the earphones worked AND the volume control wheel functions. So, I am increasing my star rating to 4 from my original 3.
Other pros and cons remain the same as in the original review, posted here above. - Portable Tv - Battery Operated Tv - Portable Dvd Player - Digital Tv'

Divers Watch - invicta, russian
Dont get me wrong I like this watch and its got a massive 52 mm case. My only problem is that its not swiss made like the watch in the picture , insted it says swiss movt. which means the movt is swiss but it was made in China and not subjected to the superior quality control standards of the Swiss. So anyways I checked the model numbers just to make sure It was the same watch and it was but I suspect the watch in the picture is a older version but since then Invicta has cheaped out and started making them in China to save money , but the retail asking price is the same $ 575.00 which seems kind of shady to me.
Since my original review amazon has corrected and updated their pictures to say " swiss movt " insted. Invicta Men's 4338 Russian Diver Collection Black Watch
I purchased this watch as addition to my collection of affordable watches that I don't just store in box but also can wear.
This watch is large at 52mm but it is not uncomfortable on wrist. The weight is amazing for its size. The numbers and hands are very bright at night and can be clearly seen.
The rubber bracelet is very comfortable and not irritating skin. However, it is unusual short for the watch this size. I have wear it on the third hole from the end. But it's not a problem (at least from me) but some people with larger hands might not be able to fit this watch.
The price is also right in a spot for quart movement swiss made watch. If you can see my previous reviews, I always like quartz watches (though recently I purchased few mechanical watches). I am "time-accuracy freak" so having perfect time is must for me and this watch keeps perfect time.
The only thing that this watch is missing is a second hand. But because I am not wearing this watch at time when seconds play much difference, I am ok with it as well.
I am highly recommending this watch to men with medium to large size arm/wrist. Men with small hand may find this watch too heavy and too large.
If you are looking for a nice, somewhat dressy looking diver's watch, this might fit your needs. While the yellow or orange are certainly showy, this one is just casual enough but does not look as if you just came out of the water. I have been wearing mine for three days now and am really enjoying it. It is a large watch but is not uncomfortable. You will certanly have no trouble seeing the time during the day or night (nor will anyone else that is sitting around you). It is holding good time and I assume that it will continue to do so. If you are looking for a nice price on a big diver, take a closer look at this watch.
I almost passed over this beauty because I normally like more complicated dials such as chronographs. While searching the web for watches, every time I saw this watch I stopped and stared. This watch is art in simplified form. It doesn't even have a second hand! The big black face and narrow bezel showcase the oversized arabic numerals and large markers all done in luminous green. Everything you see on the dial is luminous, and I mean everything!- including the divers helmet, the Invicta name, every letter, and even the date window is outlined. To top it off the entire face is encircled with a luminous band. Awesome. No other watch lights up like this one. On the side of the case opposite the crown is the engraved Invicta name. The rubber strap is high quality and extra thick. The bezel, case, barrel inserts, and buckle, have the appearance of polished black onyx against the flat black color of the strap. The coin edging around the bezel looks great from the side. Another thing Invicta is doing right is that as they make the larger watches they are keeping all of the dimensions proportional. As they get wider they also increase in depth sitting higher on the wrist. I've seen other brands that look like little flat pancakes from the side. Not appealing to me. Invicta watches are great quality overall. If your getting into large watches no one has more styles than Invicta, and that goes for their regular size watches as well. By the way I have a 7 1/4 inch wrist which is small, and I can wear up to 52mm in the Invicta line. Don't be afraid to give the larger watches a try. Good luck!
I had been planning on purchasing a new watch for a while now. I don't normally wear watches, instead I just use a cell phone to get the time. But my new phone has a screen lock that is a bit of a hassle to get unlocked JUST in order to see the time, so I started looking for a watch.
I have seen different Invicta watches on Amazon before and really liked some of them. I didn't know much about them so I started doing some research and found that most people say the quality is very good for the price.
After looking at quite a few of them on the Invicta Store here on Amazon I stumbled across the Russian Diver. I really liked the looks of it as soon as I saw it. Then I saw the size at 52mm and was a bit startled. That's a LOT of watch!!!
I ended up ordering it while it was a Deal of the Day and I'm really happy I did. As usual, shipping was super fast and the packaging was exceptional.
When I opened the watch I was immediately taken by the size of the watch. 52mm as a size seems large when you're using a ruler...but when you actually see the size of this gigantic watch it will probably catch you off guard. Not only is it wide, it's also pretty "deep." What I mean by that is it sticks off of your wrist quite a bit.
The face of it is beautiful. Every detail of it just works. The numbers fit with the face perfectly, the hands fit perfectly, the date fits in wonderfully and doesn't look out of place, and the green surround offsets the black of the watch excellently.
The black metal is awesome. It's shiny and subtle at the same time, which in my opinion is great because you need the color to be slightly subtle on a watch this size.
I've read many opinions on different websites that suggest that the chain for the canteen cover doesn't fit the watch very well, but I disagree. I think the chain does a great job of finishing off the overall aesthetic of the piece. I wouldn't ever think of taking the chain off of mine.
The overall weight of the watch on the wrist is definitely more than I'm used to. Like I said, I don't normally wear watches and when I do they aren't anywhere near as large as this one. The weight takes some getting used to, definitely.
I've only had the watch for a short while, but I've already gotten several compliments on it. It's definitely a piece that draws attention to it. People see you and are instantly drawn to it.
All in all, I'm extremely pleased with the purchase. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Invicta watch, and the 5 year warranty that comes with the timepiece through Amazon is a wonderful addition. - Divers Watch - 52mm - Russian - Invicta'

7-port Usb Hub - 7 port usb 2 hub, usb hub
This USB hub works. Over the years, I've tried more than a dozen others, from Chinese no-name to Belkin and Griffin hubs with iPod docks and card readers. None of them has worked reliably, and I have ended up using my precious MacBook USB outlets (why only two??) for must-have external hard drives.
This new hub was a success right out of the box. It instantly allowed the MacBook to recognize everything I plugged in, and it has never hesitated, even with four hard drives running (I believe in backup), plus other bits and pieces. I am soooo happy not to have to wonder any more if I have a good connection.
The unit is certainly not the slimmest, if portability is important. Also, with the seven outlets all on one side, it is less convenient than the CablesToGo equivalent, which has four on one side and three on the other. That said, I now have it set up compactly, and can just forget about it.
The construction is solid, so I have no fear of damaging it with lots of replugging. The USB cable has a solid S Type connector (as is often used for printers), rather than the flimsy little camera style plug, which I assume helps performance. It also has a more than adequate power supply.
Of course, it could be that I just got lucky after years of lemons - but I don't think so. This unit is made to be functional, rather than simply looking slick, and it succeeds. Now I can get on with what I want to do, and not worry about those nasty crashes. 7-Port USB 2.0 Hub, Black
I had a Belkin 7 port powered hub and just couldn't get more than three things to be recognized at once. So, off I go to Office Depot and buy another Belkin hub. Exactly the same problem. One day the thought occurs to me that maybe this hub is underpowered. Not a big enough power supply. I don't have any way to test this, but with this hub, all seven devices connect up no problemo and run just fine. Wish the light had come on earlier and I'd bought this first.
This is a quality product. Good materials, well-made; all ports work; the design is attractive and compact; hub stays on desk, no mounting necessary. Very good price, fast shipping. Considerate followup by Cyberguys to boot -- these people know that doing business is about providing value and service (not just 'making money').
This 7 port USB hub has it all. Works for Mac and PC. Just bought my first Mac and the reviews by other buyers mentioned lots of hubs won't work for Mac. Small enough to be unobtrusive and always easily available to use all the time. I have mine attached with velcro in the back of the shelve my keyboard is on, so it is very convenient to access and out of sight. I plug in the USB cables for my camera, a couple of flash drives, my iPod cable, and scanner, so they are always ready to use immediately. And still have room for more!
Cyberguys were all about customer service and it shows, and a great price too. I now go to them and check out what they have first before trying anyone else. 5 stars for Cyberguys and their USB hub.
LMC
I needed a USB hub when my Mac Mini ran out of jacks and finding the ones on the sides of my monitor became a pain in the neck...literally. The unit works fine.
A couple of suggestions for the manufacturer though: The green indicator LED's on the front are a nice touch but pretty useless since they are so faint that you can hardly tell they're on. Second, three of the USB's should be in the BACK of the unit and four in the front (or some configuration like this). Most of my peripherals needing a USB I keep plugged in all the time. Things like my digital camera and GPS don't and are perfect for the front. Permanently plugged-in USB devices on the front makes for an unsightly tangle of cords which I would rather have out of view.
This unit does require an outlet for its transformer...just one more thing gobbling power all the time.
I usually run out of USB ports or it becomes a pain to keep plugging and unplugging wires from the back of the desktop. I chose this device because it comes with an external power source which is necessary if you want to plug an external hard drive to the hub. Without the external power source, it usually will not have enough juice to power up the portable hard drive. I have used all 7 ports at the same time without any issues. Wireless mouse, camera, portable hard drives and flash drives plugged in all at once.
Great price and a great buy. Recommended!!
I've had great results with this unit as others as well, and I've used almost all the ports simultaneously.
MY RECOMMENDATION (connecting any non-powered external USB drive): If you have an external USB drive not showing up, use short mini-USB cables. With longer mini-USB cables, there seems to be enough voltage loss through the cable, that some devices don't get enough power. Search Amazon for the "RiteAV - USB 2.0" 1ft cables.
Whether on this hub or just plugged into my laptop, the three foot cables are too long. With the short cables, EVERYTHING powers up and works!

Invisible Shield - 4g, invisible shield
This Splash Masque screen worked exactly as it should. I did waste the first screen in the 3-pack because I rushed ahead and didn't read all the good advice on the package. In addition to instructions on the outside of the pack there is advice under the flap, that you will see after you open it, about how to align the screen with the glass. It is a little tricky. The first time around I didn't get the screen aligned well enough and couldn't recover. The second time was a charm.
There are three layers in each of the three screen application kits in the package. The bottom layer is what you peel off first, to reveal the bottom of the actual screen protector, which is the middle layer. The top layer is quite thick and helps you to manipulate the protector and align it with the Thunderbolt. Once you have it lined up and stuck on, and after you squeeze out any air bubbles, you peel off the top layer to leave only the screen protector on the glass. At that point it is probably better to use your finger to squeeze out any last bubbles as the edges of the "stick" they provide -- just a piece of rigid plastic sheet -- could scratch the protector.
Note that the protector covers the whole glass surface of the touch-sensitive part of the phone's screen, which is larger than the display itself.
The cloth in the package did a great job of cleaning finger marks off the screen. A few dust particles still stuck to the screen after I cleaned it, but I used a can of dust blower that I happened to have on the shelf and that took care of them. Or you could just blow -- the humidity in your breath will help to suppress static electricity. splash Masque Screen Protector Film Clear (Invisible) for HTC Thunderbolt (3-Pack)
I have the Splash Masque screens for my Droid Incredible and iPad and love them so I got these for my wife's Thunderbolt. The no-fluid/static cling application is a lot less fussy and involved than the likes of Zagg and Bodyguardz, offers the same protection in my opinion for straightforward daily use with common sense care (i.e. don't use a sharp pointy object for a stylus) - at a much better price. We also like the way they feel - not too different from the original surface (not sticky/rubbery like the Zagg). They also reduce smudging.
With regard to installation, I think the hardest part regardless of the type of protector is keeping everything dust-free. If you ever installed a protector, you know that the smallest speck creates an annoying bubble. So I liked the fact that I got three chances with the Splash Masque since they come in a 3-pack. In fact I got more than 3 chances -- I got dust on all 3 screens when trying to apply it to the T-Bolt, so I got desperate and tried to use the "squeegee" card to scrape the dust off of one of the protectors. Guess what, it worked! Granted, it took me a while (guessing 20-30 min) and several applications (because you can't really see the dust until you put it on the screen, so then you have to take it off, scrape, try again, etc.), but in the end, I got a dust-free, bubble-free application which looks great! (couple of bubbles along the edges but didn't care about those since they're mostly covered up by the case) I don't think I would've been able to do that with one of the "wet" application protectors like Zagg...
I wanted a screen cover for 2 reasons: 1) to protect against scratches (I throw my phone in my purse) and 2) to stop having to rub the fingerprints off with my pants. This screen does both perfectly.
It was fairly easy to install, but make sure you really clean the screen with the cloth because any little particle of dust will make an air bubble. I ended up using two screens before it got it right. I still have a few tiny air bubbles, but they are all on the edge.
Also, just be aware that the screen is a few millimeters smaller than the screen.
What's you get: 3 screen covers, a dust cloth, and a piece of thin cardbord to remove air bubbles.
This screen protector is the best i have ever had, it doesn't go on any easier than others i have applied but if you take your time it will go on with no air bubbles. Its a great fit for the screen and i had no bubbles after installing it, once on the screen you cant even tell its there.
I bought these after i messed up on a different brand I purchased. I took this one out of the package, followed the directions and boom. Went on with no fuss. No bubbles either. You can't even tell there's a protector on my screen. I bought the 3 pack and probably won't need the other 2. Very happy I purchased these. Well worth the money!
Perfect fit and non-sticky like others I've had for other devices. Its on the high end price-wise, but it at least covers the entire screen of the phone. I've seen others that only cover main portion of the screen, leaving exposed the 4-home buttons on the bottom and the logo on the top. Installation is like most static-cling screen protectors and I didn't find this one to be easier or harder. Bubbles are a pain and dust is a major factor to deal with. I messed up the first protector, but got it on the 2nd try. I've had it on for over a month now and its worked perfectly. - Invisible Shield - 4g'

Digital Photography - ebay, computer
I stumbled across this book by chance when I was looking for books on photography and what a gem it is! I love the layout and the photographs that are
used as examples. The text is not only easy to read and understand, but it's funny as well. I found myself laughing while reading it and I'm now eager to put my new knowledge to work! eBayPhotos That Sell: Taking Great Product Shots for eBay and Beyond
Using simple, lo-tech language and a wealth of color photos, this excellent book can teach anyone to arrange, light, photograph and even edit macro (closeup) pictures. I bought it sight unseen on a friend's recommendation, and it's even better than I thought it would be.
The instructions are always clear and simple, and every instruction is illustrated with full-color, detailed examples. The results make you look like a professional photographer (or could even make you become one!).
I've bought tons of books on Amazon; but this is the first one I've felt compelled to review, because it's so darn good.
If one takes a look at the items up for sale on eBay, many of the items have pictures. Some of them are stock photos from the manufacturer's website, but the great majority of them are amateur photos taken with a digital camera. The photographic quality of eBay is usually on the lower end of the amateur scale, filled with distracting elements, flash reflections and a host of other problems. The goal of this book is to teach the reader how to take product photos that sell.
The authors of the book do an excellent job of guiding the reader through the process, from the initial setup to taking the photos, to editing them in software. This is a rather non-technical book, and the focus is definitely on the photography and not the image manipulation aspect of product photography. It is written to be understood by the beginner, but has useful tips for advanced photographers as well.
The book is filled with pictures to provide examples of how to transform an everyday object into a visually appealing photograph. The advice and tips given in the book helps beginners solve the common problems of home photography. It is an excellent introduction to product photography and a valuable reference book that no photographer (or eBay seller) should be without.
Not being a true photographer(strictly for business) I looked through many books hoping I could find one that would help me take better photos for eBay. That's when I stumbled on this little gem. I'm sure this stuff is old hat to photo pros and hobbyists, but to those of us who don't know our f-stops from our brackets, this is a God send. My photos look so much better, that I've gotten compliments from friends and buyers (who'd a thought that!) People ask me what kind of camera I use, settings, etc. and my answer is read "eBay Photos That Sell". If nothing else the chapters of Objective and Subjective photos will help most folks (and don't forget the shower curtain). Simple stuff I know, but it makes all the difference in the world. BUY this book! You won't be disappointed.
An interesting aspect of this book is how it often advises you to improve your photos of items you're selling on eBay. Not by image enhancement via Photoshop, as so many other books do. Instead, it recommends trying simple steps in the real world, that might actually be faster than several hours in front of your computer. For example, if you have a black, shiny item, then polish it so that smudges and fingerprints are not visible in the photo. And take that photo against a white background, for high contrast.
This is the general tenor of the book. Practical, non-high tech steps. A good counterpoint to other eBay books.
This is a great book and definitely a rare find as few books focus on product photography. The steps given for shooting great photos of items you want to sell on eBay are simple and easy to understand. The techniques outlined are easy to follow and you don't have to be a professional photographer to understand what is involved. It has been proven that ads with great photos on eBay are more likely to be successful auctions and attract more bidders. If you're serious about selling on eBay, this book is a must read.
I have been selling on eBay for over 11 years, am a Top Rated Seller, Powerseller and a Certified eBay Education Specialist. What I am NOT is a photographer. What I found in this book was easy to follow tips and suggestions and wonderful pictures (of course).
There is a maze of photography books that you can purchase but none really hone in on creating simple clear and effetive pictures for the eBay business. I highly recommend this book to you as I do to my students. A gem!
As a beginner at selling on Ebay, this book gave great hints and tips on creating product pictures that will really stand out. It worked particularly well for me because I already had purchased the same camera and photo software that the authors used, but I can see it being less effective for others who haven't. Still, the lighting instructions and ideas make the book worthwhile!
I thought the book was a little pricey. I always justify my purchases, if the book contains at least one technicial piece of info, I did not know or it's info I was searching for.
So that being said, I justified my purchase.
It's a good informative book and has a lot of pictures as samples or this is the way to make the shot.
I would recommend this book to anyone going into EBAY as a seller. - Internet Presence - Useful - Computer - Ebay'

Woodworking - nail gun, brad nailer
Same as a previous reviewer, it comes in a cool plastic BOSTITCH case, and a pack of nails is included, so you are ready to hit the ground running with this one.
It looks like something that has been a demo unit for a short time, but if you did not know it would be hard to tell it is not new. Works well, I loaded it and shot a few test rounds, it was adjusted well, fires firm yet relatively quiet compared to my stapler.
Even though I may think this is a great price for this item, I am sure these units made in China cost a small fraction of my price. I ordered mine from CPO through Amazon, ships from Atlanta, was here in NY in two days.
Enjoy it, definitely worth a buy even for an occasional project here and there. Factory-Reconditioned Bostitch U/BT1855K 18-Gauge Brad Nailer
Received the Factory-Reconditioned Bostitch U/BT1855K 18-Gauge Brad Nailer the other day. It came in a like new case with nails and instruction manual. Have not had a chance to try it out but the nailer looked almost new. Assuming I have no problems with it's function this is a great deal at 1/2 the price of a new unit. I may re-vist after I have had a chance to use the nailer. - Nail Gun - Brad Nailer - Brad Nailers - Nailers'

Zero Gravity - bullet, space pen
Pen is very well made all metal, refill is everything they claim it is. Get a lil piece of the space program of old with this pen. This is not the little bullet pen you see in the office supply places but a normal perhaps a little smaller in diameter pen suitable to carry in your shirt pocket. Fisher Space Original Astronaut Space Pen
This pen is well enough made that it will put up with pretty much any abuse that you put it through. It is solid and performs as advertised. I am a bit of a compulsive clicker when it comes to pens, so the mechanism is a bit of a novelty that I like. I have actually purchased 2 now... the second to replace the original that I lost. After owning it about 6 months, the chrome is wearing a little on the button that retracts the pen, but other than the slight cosmetic wear, it looks great and writes great. The ink does have a tendency to gob up if you are left handed, but not as bad as a Cross pen. The refills are a tad expensive.
My Uncle Ted gave me one of these for Christmas in 1972. He worked at the Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston as an Engineer for NASA and he got one of the first batches that was available to the public. I have it sitting in front of me, and it still works. The cartridge has been changed more than a few times over the years, but it is still the same pen that I used all through high school and college. A great, great pen for anyone with a sense of history and appreciation of what we have done in space.
This is an amazing pen...best one I have ever used.
It is 'heavy' in the way a good pen should be, good balance, very well made, and the ink lasts for a very long time. Solid brass construction. The finger grips are solid without being to deep as to cause discomfort after long periods of writing.
Vs. some of the high end $200-$300 pens this one is clearly better for writing, much better made, and far less costly.
I decided to purchase the AG7 pen after I had purchased the bullet pen. I love my bullet pen, so I figured I would love this one too. And I do. This pen is so eye catchy and appealing. I love the retract button on the side and the chrome finish. Also to know that this pen hasn't been changed at all over the years is also neat. You get to use the same pen every astronaut or cosmonaut has used in the space program. I do write upside down, and outside, and even in the rain. It hasn't failed me yet. Also, just some history, contrary to popular belief, the CCCP did not use pencils in space. Why? The lead shavings and dust from the pencil would float around in orbit and perhaps injure the astronaut or space module. Also, NASA did not invent the space pen. It was invented by Fisher for the space program. The ink cartridge is pressurized, forcing the ink to the ball point. This pen writes very smoothly and feels nice in my hand. I got this AG7 for mainly two reasons. 1. The history behind it, and 2; the fact that I can literally use it anywhere, anytime. This pen is always in my bag or coat pocket. If I forget it, I have my bullet pen to fall back on. Fisher has nailed it with these pens. It'll be the last pen I buy, and it will probably be the last one you buy too.
This pen is great. I use a pen constantly during my work, estimating and adjusting homes. I draw often, and also write and fill out a lot of forms and notes for homeowners. I think using a nice pen is great for improving my attitude and experience at work, and I believe it also helps if you are trying to get someone to sign either a contract or a check. Having a nice pen sitting there makes a difference.
Anyway, I have quite a few spacepens, including the AG-7, this CH-4, a few of the bullet pens, and a couple cap-o-matics as well. I do not have experience with either the MARS or Millenium II, because they look uncomfortably thick to hold.
I'm going to start with what I think is the CH-4's main competitor...
The AG-7 is a great pen, I think you should own one. The only problem, is that during extended use the pen begins to feel a bit top-heavy because of the taper and the thickness. The pen's weight is a great quality, but if it's hot and your hand is sweating, the grooves can be insufficient for easy gripping. I think the mechanism makes up a significant portion of the weight. The clicks are smooth and satisfying - I find myself clicking it while I am not writing, but just walking and holding the pen.
The CH-4 is a fantastic pen! You need to own one. There is no problem with this pen. After using and loving the AG-7 for months, I tried the CH-4 because of the cooler pen-clip imprint (SPACE w/orbit logo, contrasted with AG-7). The barrel of the pen is straight and only begins to taper at the proper point. The pen itself is still pleasantly heavy, and the mechanism is very satisfying as well. It does lack some of the click down pressure, compared to what is required with the AG-7, as well as some of the release power.
This small deterioration in mechanism potency (I surmise 15%) is a small concession to make.
The bullet pens are nice for pockets, and the cap-o-matics are ok - but a little light-weight for my taste, and more suited for purses.
I suggest owning a few different styled spacepens if you need multiple colors while working, as I do. I can grab my AG-7 to do red corrections, my turquoise pocket bullet for notes, and my trusty and irreplaceable CH-4 in black for the bulk of the work. I also bought one for my Dad for father's day with engraving (order from the real site to get the best, it costs more - but it's official)
Happy writing!
My husband LOVES pens - and when he unwrapped this, he went bonkers! He HAD to write upside-down with it immediately, and I later caught him trying to write with it under water! lol! He is very pleased with this pen, and it is one of his most prized possessions. Every space program/astronaut enthusiast will love this pen - as well as people who love pens. Be careful when writing upside-down, though - when you're not in zero gravity, this heavy pen will go straight down...as evidenced by the small bruise on my husband's forehead! (Unseen attribute...entertainment! LOL!) - Bullet - Zero Gravity - Space Pen - Fisher'

115-piece Tool Kit - tools, good value
I bought this kit 2 weeks ago and have been very satisfied with it. As for the quality of the product, the fiberglass hammer, 4 different type pliers, 2 screwdrivers and bits, 6 wrenches, hex keys and bag are all high/professional quality. The utility knife is just your typical light-weight standard no frills knife but works fine. The drill bits come in steel cases and I've used both and they work fine. A 13 piece titanium drill bit set would cost you $20 at least! The pliers are all chrome vanadium which is the best material I've seen in pliers. They are definitely professional quality. The fiberglass hammer is as good as any fiberglass handled Stanley hammer that I've owned and the tape measure is as good as any Stanley one I've owned as well although it is only 16ft (25ft would have been better). The level is your typical lightweight level but it is magnetic which is great feature and works fine. The bag that this kit comes with is great. Its high quality and has enough room in it for me to add other stuff. I actually counted the pieces and there are 115 pieces that come with this kit. For $39 this is a great kit. Is every piece in this kit professional quality, no, but most are and for the price it is a significant value. Denali 115-Piece Home Repair Tool Kit
Just bought this hand tool kit and am very happy with it. My husband has one but it came in a plastic case that now doesn't hold the tools anymore and most of them are gone anyway. I can't fit any other hammers in the spot where the original hammer was so we can no longer keep them together. The bag this set came with is really nice. It also allows my husband the chance to lose most of these tools and allows me the flexibility to replace them. The hand tools and accessories that came in the case seem very nice and even professional grade. My husband said that they are even better then some of the Stanley tools he has.
I went to Lowe's and saw that just the hammer alone was $10 and most of the individual hand tools were $7-10 a piece. I think I got a great deal and my husband thinks he got great tools. Best of both worlds.
I was a little concerned about the quality of the set because of the low price, but I am very pleased. They are not top of the line, but perfect for handling small to medium jobs. Screw Driver set is a little lame but the interchangable bits can be used in drills. The drill bit sets are great. They even incluse masonry bits. I've never needed a hex key, and some of the other stuff in here, but all in all, it's a great gift for home-owners.
Please don't expect Sears craftman quality from this tool set. The tool bag is very good and the selection of tools is great. OK tool quality. As a tool kit around the home for newlyweds and college dorm it is excellent and the price is right. The hammer feels unbalanced because it has a hollow handle. The razor cutter is excellent because it is simple to open and change the blade. If I had my druthers, I would have omitted the drill bits (why did they include drill bits?) and put in a better hammer.
I bought this for a friend who got a new vacation house. He and his wife are city dwellers where the super fixes everything, so I knew they needed tools for their house. The Denali kit has very, very high quality parts in it. The hammer is heavy, the pliers and cutters are strong. The bag is a plus for them, because there is plenty of room inside for additional tools, and lots of pockets inside and out. The wife was happy they could put all their tools inside and zip it up, keeping it secure from their 1 year old.
Only improvements would be a small socket wrench that fits the supplied socket bits (the kit has a socket driver, but sometimes you need the torque of a true wrench). I also think the saw is strangely designed, but for the very light cutting it is meant for, it will work well enough.
Excellent product. It has all basic hand tools that homeowner needs. Tools are good quality tools and the bag is really good to hold everything plus there is space for more. For $32 it is an excellent value!
An excellent "bang for buck" set, it includes all the basic tools one would need to accomplish some common tasks in the home. The quality is better than what should be expected at this price. The kit only suffers from a few minor flaws.
The tool bag is simply a heavy duty bag in which to throw all your tools together in one place. The bag is good quality, durable but offers little in the way of organization. It is really a bag with 6 inner pockets, non of which are designed to hold any specific tool, so in the end all the pieces will lump together inside. As long as you don't add too many of your own tools in the bag, which there is ample room for, it shouldn't be difficult navigating for what you need.
The kit's 115 pieces, relies a few repetitive sets of bits. A close look at the product description will reveal that there are 2 sets of phillips drivers, one of which is called "Poszidriv" set, which are really just another set of phillips. If the Poszidriv set provides more torque and grip, why not simply include those and forget the others? Some might tell me they are for different screwdrivers, but for general around the house tasks, the average person would look at the bit set and see a world of repetition. 14 flathead bits is overkill and if you purchase the set you will understand when looking over all the bits offered. I think these bits were included to pump up a reasonable 80 piece set to 115.
The racheting handle of the screwdriver is a great feature, but when inserting the bits, there is no locking mechanism so when you pull the driver from its completed screw, the bit will stay on the bolt or screw you've just tightened. This happens on and off.
On the positive side, I agree with the other reviewers. The hammer is excellent quality, the pliers are sturdy and heavyweight. There is a good variety to open all kinds of screws so it goes beyond your average appliances. I purchased mine on a Friday sale for less than $30 so I feel it's an excellent value. Even at it's regular price of $40, I would say for a home that has no real set of tools, it is a great addition. - Home Repair - Tools - Good Value - Tool Set'

Video Game To Movie - jake gyllenhaal, gemma arterton
I don't know what movie one of the other reviewers saw, but it certainly wasn't the same one I saw. I thought it was excellent & no I am not a fangirl or fanboy, I have just been a movie buff my whole life. I thought Gyllenhaal did a great job considering he did most of his own stunts & looked very much like the PoP video game character. Plus he brought a lot of wit & charm to the character & there was quite a bit of chemistry between him & Gemma who was exquisitely beautiful, wonderful, & feisty as Tamina. My only problem with this movie is there won't be a sequel since the US did not embrace this movie like they did overseas. However, it was fun, exciting, had beautiful cinematography with the Moroccan landscapes & deserts. The only CGI special effects were the turn back time sequences, & a few other places with the sand glass. It had quite a few teaching moments too, which makes it a great family film & for kids of all ages to enjoy. Bruckheimer movies are always big budget flicks & it shows in every way. There definitely was no cutting corners here, you could really tell. One more thing I want to add is the Parkour stunts were beautifully choreographed, that was an excellent idea to get David Belle to teach Gyllenhaal the art of Parkour, so they looked real. FYI to you naysayers, there is such a thing as suspension of disbelief & a good imagination that one must have to thoroughly lose yourself in a fantasy type movie as this is so you can enjoy it for what it is, otherwise, you waste the whole movie thinking about the stunts & events in it are impossible & illogical. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Most of the time, when I read a review, I wonder if the person has any credibility that is writing the review (ie: do they see a lot of movies and have discretion or are they the occasional movie goer). I have been an avid fan of the film industry since I was a kid, and I own over 700 movies. There's my cred.
Do not listen to the crackpot at the bottom of the page. I have not only played every Prince of Persia game, but I was a serious doubter in the video game to film adaption of this (kept replaying the nightmare that was "Doom"). I was extremely surprised. I am not a Jake Gyllenhall fan, but I am a Bruckheimer fan. And, I am, for the most part, a Disney fan. Apparently the reviewer at the bottom cant accurately critique a Disney film, because he doesn't even appreciate what was "Pirates".
Prince of Persia delivers in every way imaginable, and reminded me why I loved going to the movies in the first place. Is Jake Leo DiCapprio in a Scorcese film? Of course not. Is the movie realistic? Of course not, its a DISNEY FANTASY MOVIE. If you think it should be realistic, then you are the reason for the "do not try this at home" warnings on TV that the rest of the known world finds insulting. Is the movie well acted? Absolutely, for the type of movie. Is the action in the movie sufficient? More than. Is the movie enjoyable? Hell yea! I had a blast. I loved the chemistry between Jake and Gemma, and thought Bruckheimer made a convincing and thoroughly thought through story for a game that really didn't have that thorough a plot line to begin with. Excellent score for Disney, and it would make a grand classic for the whole family if added to your collection. I can't wait for it to come out.
Even though this is not on Bluray/DVD yet, I am providing a quick review since it is already given a 3 star rating due to complaints about the original price tag (as seen, the price has dropped into the $20s where a normal Amazon Bluray first settles).
Anyway, if you love movies with an intriguing story, nonsensical action, a splurge of humor and an unyielding message, Prince of Persia is for you. In the mold of Bruckheimer, some things are not meant to be taken seriously, but I must commend him for making the best video game based movie I have ever witnessed.
The title Sands of Time, refers to the power of a magical dagger that can send its bearer a few seconds into the past to "change" the event that just occurred (similar to the weapon the Prince carries in the video game). The one who possesses this power can undo a previous action or even prevent themselves from just being killed. Without giving anything away, the story eventually unfolds to a darker danger to time itself if the dagger falls into the wrong hands.
Jake Gyllenhaal delivers as the happy-go-lucky Prince who comes of age to figure out the mystery of the dagger and attempt to stop those who threaten his family and the legacy of the kingdom. Gemma Arterton contrasts as the witty and beautiful Princess Tamina who stoutly serves as the hero's foil while herself experiencing a personality check as the movie progresses. Ben Kingsley is always a professional and the great Alfred Molina completely steals the show as Sheik Amar in his scenes!
One thing must also be said - DO NOT TAKE THE TRAILERS AND TV SPOTS AS THE MOVIE! As far as I am concerned, the Marketing Dept dropped the ball on this; creating a perception that this is a movie of mindless action and flirtatious banter between the stars ("Why can't you keep your eyes off of me???" nonsense). There are some hysterical moments between the Prince and Tamina, brilliant stunts (the Prince's action scenes are very close to what he would do in the video game), and a story that revolves around trust, hope and not giving up on the love of one's family.
If you loved Pirates of the Carribbean...this one will not dissapoint (In my opinion, it is certainly better than Dead Man's Chest and At Worlds End by a long shot!)
This movie clearly aims at kids, and teens. It also caters to hard-core video gamers who love Prince of Persia game franchise. There are a lot of jumping just like in the games.
There are many fighting scenes. They look okay. The scenes are colorful and beautiful. The special effects look riveting. For example, the snake scene looks very real.
Jake Gyllenhaal's acting is fun and engaging. Gemma Arterton's acting is stiff. The time-shifting twist keeps the movie interesting till the end. If you're looking for characters' depth here, you'll be disappointed.
The ostrich racing scene looks original to me. I've never seen something like that before.
This movie reminds me of Scorpion King. As a family movie, it's absolutely worth watching once. - Action Adventure - Jake Gyllenhaal - Gemma Arterton - Ben Kingsley'

Jewel Cases - jewel cases, cd cases
I checked all the reviews and chose these due to nothing bad said about them in reviews. I've had no problem with the close mechanism or the plastic being flimsy or anything -- these are pretty much like every other slim case I've ever used.
They are packed in your typical retail box. Amazon puts them in a cardboard box for shipping like everything else, with the air bags and perhaps other things you might have ordered. There was a few together in one area of the box that were cracked on the outside edge from taking some type of impact or crush on one side of the box. This could have happened before or after Amazon got them, during shipping or not. Other than opening up the retail box and checking them, there's not really any way to control this. If you want to do that to avoid buying any damaged ones, then I guess you have to go to a store and do that. Imation Slimline Black Jewel Case 100-Pack
I bought these jewel cases because of the price (.17 each). They're not the sturdiest, but if you're not rough on things it'll be ok. Just be aware that out of 100 cases you're bound to get a few broken in delivery (but still usable), but that's the fault of the flimsy packaging. I recommend these cases if you have to store a lot of discs or for disc giveaways.
The last time I bought bulk Jewel cases they were much cheaper. In my search for a good price the other day, I came across these. They were on sale so I got a great price.
Compared to the jewel cases I've bought in the past, the material used in these are about 10% thinner. And it shows, as these are noticeably less rigid. However, they open and close well, and securely hold the CD. So that doesn't matter to me. The low price was more important.
I ordered only these from Amazon and nothing else. Surprisingly they simply put these in a larger shipping box, with little cushioning, and shipped them that way. I was surprised they arrived without damage. I suggest you write a note on checkout stating that you want these to be packed well to prevent breakage. - Slim Jewel Cases - Cd Cases - Jewel Cases'

10lb Weights - exercise, fitness
Good product, standard issue vinyl covered dumbbell. First pair got damaged in shipment.
Seller was really great about sending out another pair, even hand-picked a pair and packaged it extra security to ensure no damage the second time around.
Plan to order from them again soon. Body Solid Tools BSTVD10 10-Pound Vinyl Dumbbell (Orange)
I ordered 4 sets of Body Solid vinyl dumbbells from Sam's Club online and their prices are unbelievable! For example, one 5-pound weight is selling for $5.58, which is 50% less than what Amazon is selling them for. The only bad thing about buying online from Sam's Club is that they charge state tax and shipping & handling. However, it was still cheaper to purchase the dumbbells from Sam's Club than Amazon, even with paying the extra money for tax and shipping. Apparently, Sam's Club gets the weights directly from the manufacturer. I was very pleased with their packaging job. They actually double-boxed the weights and included a lot of packing material. I made the mistake of ordering a set of Body Solid dumbbells from Amazon and they came all beat up. They hardly put in any packing material to cushion the weights.
If you're a member of Sam's Club, go to their online website and set up an account with your membership number. I ordered a lot of different neoprene dumbbells before settling on a brand (Valeo, Cap Barbell sold at Walmart, Savasa, Embark brand sold at Target). I have been the most impressed with the quality of the Body Solid vinyl dumbbells. I was hesitant about purchasing vinyl because I was afraid of chipping, but these things are so heavy duty that they seem impervious to almost anything. They're also much easier to clean with anti-bacterial wipes than neoprene. I also like that the colors match each other there isn't a discrepancy between the shades (i.e., the two blue dumbbells match each other). Another point about these dumbbells is that the handles are not too thick, even as the dumbbells get heavier in weight. For example, the handles of the 12 lb. dumbbells aren't so bulky that they're more difficult to hold compared to a lighter set of dumbbells. Best of all, there's no funky odors! I like that I can use the weights and my hands don't smell funny afterwards.
I'm going back to order more pairs from Sam's Club. A word of caution -- just like Amazon, they sell the dumbbells individually, so make sure to put 2 of them in your cart. Sam's Club shipped them via FedEx (ground is the cheapest) and I still received them in about 4 days. Enjoy! - 10lb Weights - Hand Weights - Exercise - Fitness'

Bluetooth Keyboard - ipad 2, ipad
I love the way the case looks, and holds my ipad. I find that the keyboard bluetooth connection goes off frequently, despite my surroundings. This is particularly bad when using Gotomypc.com. I would LOVE to hear any suggestions that anyone has, who has tried this keyboard and had better luck than me. I am certainly no IT genius. I really like the idea, the feel, and the look. The only other complaint that I have is that it really needs two shift keys; only having one on the left is difficult when trying to type. Kensington 2nd Generation KeyFolio Bluetooth Keyboard Accessory Case for Apple iPad 2 2nd Generation WiFi / 3G Model 16GB, 32GB, 64GB NEWEST MODEL & for Apple iPad 1 OLDER ORGINAL MODEL (Black)
After my ordeal of getting an iPad 2, I knew I needed a keyboard case (since my desktop died). I'm a professional blogger, and I need an efficient way to input information, and touching the screen wasn't going to cut it. When I first saw the Kensington case for the iPad 1, I toyed around with the idea of purchasing it. Then I went through the aforementioned ordeal, and the new cases wouldn't be shipping out until after April. I just happened to look on the site last week, and it was available, so I purchased it. I received it in 2 days, and I love it. The bluetooth is responsive, and the USB cable fits into my Kindle electrical plug so I can charge it at the same time the iPad 2 is charging. I absolutely love it. The smell of the case is a little off putting, but for what it does, I'm completely happy with it. Amazon never lets me down.
There are some good reviews here, but i wanted to respond to the few negative reviews. First, there may be some people who don't know how to set up a bluetooth connection properly, and they need to get some help, because this is a great little keyboard and case. If you still have troubles, once it is set up correctly, then you likely have a bad unit and should return it for a good one. This types and protects wonderfully.
Next, do NOT expect this (plus the iPad2) to be a laptop. Some reviewers seem to think that all they need to have a good laptop is to get a keyboard. No, not even close. Most tablets are designed to be, well, tablets. Extra light and small Mobile computing platforms for doing light computing tasks, especially for times that a full computer (laptop, whether Mac or PC) is not needed. By definition, it is not going to work or act like a full laptop... in other words, I don't run Final Cut Pro on the iPad, nor do I want to. This product WILL allow you to type up emails and word processing documents (if you have the apps, obviously) like a dream. I rarely get a letter that doesn't "connect" right while typing. But, no, this is NOT the same as having a laptop... it is better in some ways and it is worse in some ways. I use a notebook computer and an iPad and I bring along the one that makes the most sense for what I will be doing (software wise). I am shocked how often it is the iPad2.
In addition, make sure you are ordering the newer product if you have the iPad2 (its worth the extra 6 bucks)as the fit will not be good with the iPad2 if you buy Kennsington's iPad1 case... it won't be snug. Personally, I don't mind taking the iPad2 out of the case for pictures or video, but (of course) with the correct case you won't need to do so.
Lastly, ask yourself if you really NEED a bluetooth keyboard for your iPad? If you type a lot, you are going to love it. But if you only type on a rare occasion, you will find a thinner case and the virtual iPad keyboard will be more fitting for you. I really like this case, obviously, but it is the right thing for me. If you understand that this product will not give you a full PC or MacBook Pro notebook, then you too will love this nice little devise and case.
the material it was made out of was nice but that is where the positives end. once i opened up the case, i got a heavy smell of glue. that meant i could not use it for about 4-5 days until I let it air out because it was just bothering me too much. once i started using it, i was disappointed with how my iPad 2 was sitting inside the case. it could easily move around. while using facetime or the still camera, the ipad would sometimes move a little and the case would partially block the rear camera. whenever i would touch or swype the screen, the ipad would move out of place. if i did not quickly put it back in place, it would fall down. i ended up just pressing it lightly hoping it would stay in place but it would move anyways. i thought that maybe it would work better with my ipad 1, since it is advertised for both. the case just looked strange with a camera hole when there is no camera with it. it also had the same instability problems when i touched the screen. for what i paid, i was just hoping for a better product
Opened the packaging and the strong glue smell blew me away - people still noticed it 3 days later. Also, more than half the time the ipad went to sleep, the keyboard did not re-connect when I turned the pad on - I had to go through multiple combinations of the "connect" button, the power switch, and even turning the ipad's bluetooth on/off. Finally, this isn't the most stable platform - after typing for a bit, and swiping/touching the pad some, there is a constant need to re-seat the pad on the slot holding the pad up. I returned it today. - Ipad - Bluetooth Keyboard - Ipad Case - Ipad 2'
