Ipod Home Charger - 3rd generation, chargers

Took awhile to come but got everything listed. The screen protector was useless. It had stickers on it which could not be cleanly peeled off. I had to throw that away. The chargers do not work. But the case has a good feel.

*UPDATE* Seller contacted me promptly and resent working chargers and screen protector. Would definitely do business again! Apple iPod Touch 3G Accessories. Premium Accessory Kit for iPod Touch 3rd Generation: Black Silicone Skin Case Cover Protection + USB Car Auto DC Charger + USB Travel Home AC Charger + USB Retractable Cable + Full body Screen Protector

I figured, for the price if only two of the five items included in the package worked it would be worth the price. Maybe I'm lucky because all five accessories did exactly what they were supposed to do: the chargers charged, the cable connected, the case covered and the screen protector protected. For the prices, and assuming you are also lucky, you can't go wrong. Even to have a pair of spare charges and an extra cable might make this a good idea.

BTW, I feel that honest, effective reviews can take the place of first-hand experiences that are lacking in online shopping. I've always appreciated the help I've received from other reviewers and work hard to return the favor as best as I can. I hope you found this review helpful and if there was anything you thought was lacking or unclear leave a comment and I'll do what I can to fix it.

I purchased this product for my 3rd generation Ipod. It clearly says in the description that it is for the 3rd generation Ipod touches, however, they send you a product that is only compatible with the second generation. When you try to charge your Ipod it says charger not compatible with this device. Do not waste your time with this company.

I ordered this product just for the wall charger. When I tried it out, my iTouch said, "Charging is not supported by this product!" I have a 3rd generation, 32GB, iTouch. Total FALSE ADVERTISING by the seller! It will cost too much to return, so it's going in the trash. Don't be fooled and waste your money like I did.

I have an 32GB 3rd gen iPod touch and the car charger definitely does NOT work. Also, when my iPod is plugged into the wall charger, you can't use it. The touch sensor freaks out and doesn't click where you are trying to click. The case is okay - it looks nice and fits, but it falls off a lot. It is kind of flimsy. The screen protector would have been fine, but I accidentally touched the back when I was trying to put it on, so it had a fingerprint on it and it would've driven me crazy. So I just threw it away. Not bad for the price, but I probably would have splurged to get better quality if I would've know what I was getting.

The price is right but the charger does not work on the iPod Touch Third Generation. I plugged it in and the iPod flashed an error message that the charger will not work with this device. I will test the car charger and hope that works. You get what you pay for.

Don't waste your money. When I opened the screen protector and tried to take the plastic off the front and back, the stickers got stuck on both sides. It left a sticky residue on the protector, and I couldn't use it. The USB cord literally fell apart when I took it out of the package. The plastic cover is decent. - Ipod Accessories - Ipod Home Charger - 3rd Generation - Chargers'

Coleman Grill - grill, coleman

This works fairly well except that if your grill isn't very level then the slots/vents on the edges can "swallow" what you're cooking. We've found that in most cases it's better to use the stove grate accessory with a pan on top of that. Don't even think of cooking bacon on it (all the grease will run to the openings and give you a fire, we've used it for toasting bagels or warming up other items. Overall it's good, but not great. Coleman Road Trip Cast-Iron Griddle

This is a perfect partner to the Road Trip Grill! It great for breakfast! Pancakes, Toast, Bacon, eggs & every other breakfast goodie! Its also great for fajhita meat! It is a must have for any type of camping outing!

I really wanted to like this product more, and I have the grill to blame for part of it. This griddle has a number of large slit-like holes along the edges, which is fine if you're using any highly viscous materials like pancake batter or something. But if you use oil or other thin/watery foods, it'll run right down into the burners. I grilled onions with oil the other day for my polish sausages and dropped a good 2 tbs of oil in the grill before giving in and using spray intermittently. The onions eventually grilled up OK, but of course thanks to the stove-like effect of the grill the middle burned like crazy.

Overall a fun addition to the grill as it makes it more versatile, but like the grill itself it could use a much better design.

Purchased this grill to go with our Roadtrip Grill experience. I agree with other reviews, it's a MUST to accompany your Coleman grill. The only "wish" I have is that it was open castiron vs. the porcelin coating. Cleanup is still easy, I'm just old fashioned and like seasoning my own cookware. The jury is still out on the grease slots. Like any clean up, it'll take some getting used to. Would have given a '5' if it was open castiron. Still a "grate" accessory to camping! :-)

I love cast iron. It won't leave bits of non stick coating in your food. It distributes the heat very well, and cleans up with little effort. It is very heavy, but well worth the extra carrrying weight. - Coleman - Grill - Gas Grill - Camping'

Chronograph - carrera, chronograph

I have been looking at this watch in store windows for a few years now. I have always found it amazing, both classic and sporty, and I love the look of the brown dial and brown strap.

For my birthday this year, my wife surprised me. She offered me this watch. Since she knew it was over 40% cheaper on Amazon than in retail, she place the order online, with the free one-day shipping. I got it the next day for sure, in the official Tag packaging. I even had an email from an Amazon "concierge" who said she would be tracking my order to be sure everything goes smoothly. I guess that the only difference with buying in a regular watch store is that the warranty card isn't stamped, since Amazon is taking care of the 2-year warranty, not Tag directly, with repair / replace / refund. That is fine by me.

I have been wearing this watch every day for about a moth and I adore it :) TAG Heuer Men's CAV511E.FC6231 Grand Carrera Chronograph Calibre 17 RS Brown Dial Watch

GRAND CARRERA chrono was one of the most favorite watch untill I bought this item.

I just realize buying this watch online is just like spending money for getting something broken easily.

This is horribly crafted since it is broken within 2 weeks of purchasing.

And their Customer service is awful.

Never recommend this item.

I received the watch and it looks very nice. After wearing it for one day and using the chronometer function a few times it suddenly didn't reset back to the 12 o'clock position.

I tried every combination to reset it but it wouldn't work.

Surprisingly the manual does not mention anything about it. Looking online with a Tag authorized delaer I came to the conclusion that the movement might have a problem and requires complete overhaul. Not good for a new watch.

I am returning it to Amazon for a full refund.

It is a shame as this is an amazing looking timepiece and the price was great.

Purchased this watch online for my boyfriend, it was good for only 9weeks.

Its chrono is so crapy.

I am so mad i spend lots lots of money for short life good looking watch.

Actually it isnt that good on my boyfrinds wrist. I felt it is just too big sometimes.

But it is not even working properly now.

He is so stressed about this watch.

TAG keep saying there is nothing they can do for this.

awesome! If you want something wearable for a long time, avoid this watch.

I strongly recommand just avoid entire Grand carrera line.

I am so mad there is nothing i can do other than leaving this warning.

I hope there is no more people like me.

Worst buying experience ever.

I feel so bad for my boyfriend.

1080p Projector - dlp projector, viewsonic

This is my first projector, so I cannot really give too technical of a review. However, here are the things I've noticed in the short time I've had it so far...

Like others have said, it's bright. I can use it in the middle of the day with blinds open and see perfectly fine. From what I understand, the image will gradually get dimmer the more hours it has, but for now it's superb.

It's very easy to use. I've never operated one before and was able to use it right out of the box. Plugged it in, connected my ps3 or laptop, and turn it on. It automatically detects everything without issue.

The image can get quite large. So far I've been using it to generate an image about 8 ft wide with a good picture. The projector is 14ft away from the wall. Definitely much larger than any LCD or Plasma!

I purchased this projector for a short term relocation. I didn't want to have to ship a TV and figured if I bought a projector I could take it home with me in a few months. It's easily portable, and this one comes with a case (unlike some others. I also looked at getting the Optoma hd66 which is in the same price range, and I don't believe it came with a case and the viewsonic had a few more features).

I haven't used 3D yet since 3D glasses are still quite expensive, but one day I hope to try it.

If the lamp lasts 4000-6000 hours, I will be perfectly satisfied. That should give me several years of usage, and at that point it'll be time to upgrade anyways (technology flies these days)! Or, I could replace the lamp, although I still haven't found any bulbs online yet. I use ECO mode as well, and the difference in ECO mode and standard is hardly noticeable. ECO mode is plenty bright enough.

UPDATE: Be sure to check the contrast settings if you don't see a proper picture. The contrast setting automatically switched to 0 for HDMI input somehow and I almost returned it thinking the jack had become defective (only saw blank screen). I'm not sure why it changed, but be sure to check if the image seems off even if you didn't change anything yourself. ViewSonic PJD6531w WXGA Wide DLP Projector -120Hz/3D Ready, 3000 Lumens, 3200:1 DCR, HDMI

Let me start off by saying that when i buy something i study it hard before i buy it to make sure that i make the right descion, i settle on the viewsonic pjd6531w, and am i ever happy i did!! right out of the box the picture looked awsome!! and i received it in the morning at work so when i got home for lunch the first thing i did was set it up, even on a beige wall the picture was sharp! when i got home i put it in the spare room on a white wall , setup the surround system and popped in a bluray into the ps3, and i was blown away!!!! the colors, the sharpness, and the jaw dropping size of the screen was simply breath taking! i seriously had to do nothing , not one adjustment but to the keystone due to angle on bookshelf, if you are looking for a projector you will not be dissapointed with this one! oh and the 3d is great too!! i feel like i can jump into the screen!

3000 lumens gives amazing brightness with a projection on my wall about 8-10ft across. HDMI input so you don't have to worry about signal quality issues from analog VGA cables. Web browsing is crisp and easily readable from across the room, and movies look great also. Lots of features in the menu system including digital keystone correction, detailed color controls, captioning, customizable start-up splash-screen and more. And the default settings are good, right out of the box.

The price is very competitive, many projectors on the market are years-old models, not this one. I was shopping for a projector for months and consistently dissatisfied with the price vs features until I saw this model and immediately pre-ordered it.

The fan noise is present but very reasonable, during any movie watching one will quickly forget that it is there. Eco mode is just a small step less bright than full on, so I am using that most of the time since its plenty bright and gives a longer lamp life and slightly less noise.

It comes with a carrying case also, a nice touch.

No idea about the 3D performance yet, as I don't have anything that generates 3D content.

First thing this is an excellent 3D projector working with a "pc - Nvidia 460 gtx, LG 3D internal Blu-ray player, Nvidia 3D vision kit"

Second thing after reading a lot of blogs about problems with the projector. Let this be clear "there is no problem showing 3D in 720p".

Third if you are running at least fifty (50) feet in ceiling, forget about HDMI 1.4 ,1.3 cable. It just to long. Use a DVI to vga adapter with a high end 50' vga cable because it will work in 3D at 120Hz without crackling noise or sparkles.

Fourth, go through Nvidia 3d setup with "Test stereoscopic 3D" by running setup wizard. You need set the resolution at 1280x720 @ 120Hz. Set your projector Menu,Picture,3D Sync set to DLP-Link if using with the Viewsonic PGD-150 or any DLP Link glasses.

Fifth you do not need a firmware update to make it work in 3D Blu-ray or any 3D media files. You can test from this website [...] You just need the hardware like what is shown in the first line.

While in 3D full screen mode either in POWERDVD 10 or 9, or any viewing in full screen mode, your will be able to adjust all projector settings using network ip address that you have set for "ViewSonic Network control" on another pc system that not diplaying your current 3D if you don't want interruption during play."netgear game adapter with RJ45 hookup wireless N"

I researched projectors to death before I bought this one. I new I wanted one that was bright because I would be using it in my living room for general viewing (computer and playstation hooked up to it). I also new that I wanted one with a not so long throw, meaning that I wanted something between a theater projector and a short-throw presentation projector. This one is right in the middle (distance from projector to screen is 12 ft. and screen size is about 90-110", 16:10 ratio, which is perfect for me). It is brighter than most projectors significantly more expensive. It is widescreen, 16:10, which allows the watching of 16:9 movies with only small bars at the top and bottom. I don't know why so many projectors are 4:3, everybody wants widescreen. The pixel numbers of 1280x800 (WXGA) allow 720p resolution movies to be played at exactly 720p, and not have to be modified to fit other pixel numbers; this is assuming you will not have to 'keystone' the screen, which you probably will. The screen is watchable with lights on due to it's brightness, the only problem is that light make the black less black, and no projector can fix that.

Cons:

-The fan noise is semi-noticeable, but any decent amount of volume makes it unnoticeable.

-The project automatically points the screen up since it is more designed for presentation from desk height; this might be a good thing to you. For me, however, it is not. I mounted the projector about 9 ft high and have had to prop the back of it up about 3 inches in order to get it to display at a good level on the wall. I will soon be mounting it upside down to eliminate this.

Summary: Good price, easy to use, very clear and crisp, great colors, very bright. - Home Theater - Viewsonic - Dlp Projector - 3d Ready'

Woodturning - woodworking, woodturning

This book covers all the basic's. Topics like Selecting, Repairing, maintaining and using a lathe (including some handy jigs). There is also chapter on sharpening techniques. It would make a handy reference for any turner, especially for people about to start in this great hobbie. The Lathe Book: A Complete Guide to the Machine and Its Accessories

I actually used this book to help me become more informed before I made a lathe purchase.

It gives a great overall overview of many sizes and options.

Quote from the book, "New entry level lathes cost from $500 to $1000 dollars. Also gives positive comments to mini lathes @ $300-$400. That would include bed extension with which you could turn countless spindles. $575 Delta/Jet 12 inch, nice start as well.

Great overall picture of turning, tools, sharpening and accesories. Speaking of pictures what's shown is fine for what's being illustrated.ie; size and content.

Hey...before I read this book I was quite uncertain which way to approach the lathe. After having read it...I consider it "The Bible of Lathe Use".I still may not LOOK like I know what I'm doing....but this book sure helps me along and safely.I am still making big sticks into little sticks on the lathe...and yet I think that with this book's guidance there may just be potential for a bowl or spindle in my future.

As an advanced woodworker I decided to try my hand at turning so I purchased this book based upon the other reviews. The book is written in a confusing, disjointed, and rather condescending manner. Conover seems to want to impress with his "expertise" at the expense of clearly disseminating information.Additionally, photos are extremely small, poorly cropped, and show no worthwhile detail. He states that a minimum entry level lathe will cost you over $1,000. That must be Canadian dollars since he recommends equipment as if he's employed by the Canadian Department of Commerce. There are numerous run-on sentences in the book that will leave you scratching you head and asking "what the hell is this guy talking about?"If you want to get started in turning, this is not your book.

This Book will teach a novice the basics of turning, while also encouraging them by showing them some of the great things it is possible to do with a lathe. Mr. Conover's immense experience make this a great book for even more experienced turners, because of his practical approach to repairs, maintenance, and modification.

This book appears to be excellent for accomplished turners. I am an absolute Green Horn. Photography is excellent, writing crisp. Lots of information on handmade accessories and sharpening tips.

I probably need a book about basics.

Ernie Conover is one of the best(if not the best) writer of books on using the Lathe in the United States. I have all of his work and could recommed any or all for the serious wood turner. The only other writers who would come close to Mr. Conover are two gentleman from Australia. My wood turning library exceeds 24 books, Ernie is the best.

I obtained this book, The LATHE Book, 2001 revision, from my county library. Thanks to Ernie Conover for a real "heads-up" about wood turning! See Chapter One (and page 5 in the book) where you learn the difference between SPINDLE TURNING and FACEPLATE TURNING - this is Extremely Important to understand - if you had just bought a new mini-lathe on sale from Harbor Freight like me ( which BTW, the author never mentioned in his favorite tools suggestions) - I had personal plans to "turn cork handles for fishing rods" but wanted to understand lathe wood-turning better . . . you would need to know which tools do what. This book is a very good start. So many other tips, you will just have to check out the book. I think you will agree with me. It's very good.

I now have to decide whether to order the hard copy or the online download . . . probably hard copy, easier to take to the reading room. JohnC - Woodworking - Woodturning'

Active Skirts

Bought this skirt in 6 and the actual waist circumference is 1.25" larger than the sizing marked on the garment tag.

Also bought a size 4T baby banz pink swim skirt and the waist circumference of the skirt is 1.5" larger than the sizing marked on the tag.

Disappointed will be returning and likely buy directly from Baby Banz as looks like there is little difference in pricing.

Also bought shirts and they appear to be correctly sized and fit well. Baby Banz Swim Skirt with Bikini Pant Attached, Pink/Green/Print, Size 4'

Guitar Effects - adapters, ac adapter

I use this 9v tip negative zero hum AC adaptor on my Dano and Boss pedals (i have 2). You can tell the difference between this adapter and the noisy ones from RShack or the cheap multi adapters. I've had this product for 3 or 4 years. Danelectro DA-1 9.6V AC Adaptor

I use this mostly with my Honeytone mini amplifier and Reel Echo tape echo simulator. Works very well with no problems. A lot of Danoelectro pedals may eat up batteries and this is a great alternative when you have access to Ac voltage outlets.

You will not find a more cost efficient Ac Adaptor for powering your guitar pedals. This one rocks. If you are plaining on hooking up more then 5 pedals, I would recommend you spending more and getting a Ac Adaptor that has more mA's like the - Godlyke PA9 Universal Pedal Power Supply

All in all this is a great product for the price. Go grab it if you are in the market for a Ac Adaptor.

Casey Schultheis

I've used Boss adapters in the past, and after some use, they'll wear down, the wires getting frayed leaving you with a finicky or dead adapter. If you move your gear a lot, especially guitar/effect pedals, wrapping the wires repeatedly can put some wear and tear on them. I read on several music forums that the Danelectro adapter was more quality built so I decided to to try it.

To my pleasant surprise, it's not only more durable but cheaper to boot! And it comes in a nifty green-colored retro designed box, not that it matters but it was a nice touch to see the product come in a nice designed package. The other plus, and this is a big one, is that it is a zero-hum, or rather a an adapter that won't add noise to your signal, like when plugged into your Boss pedals or other effect pedals. Much better than your run-of-the-mill adapter from Radio Shack.

I'm currently using this for my Roland FC-300 Midi Foot Controller and for my EQ Pedal, which is part of my guitar setup. Highly recommended.

Pretty decent adapter, lifting it you can really feel the heft of the transformer and capacitor bank inside. It really does a nice job of evening out the AC noise. I haven't had a chance to hook it up to an oscilloscope or anything, but I like it, and it powers both my Mini Amp, and my brothers keyboard.

I got this because it was specifically recommended for the honeytone miniamp. If this thing does actually kill line noise, I'd hate to hear what it sounds like with one that doesn't. The buzz drowns out the guitar entirely at reasonable volumes. There is no buzz at all with a 9 volt battery in the amp. - Ac Adapter - Adapters - Guitar Stuff - Guitar Pedals'

Beauty And The Beast - ron perlman, tv series

As a huge fan of the show, I am truly disappointed. I gave my DVD sets to another fan in anticipation of the full series set, but it just wasn't worth it.

The interactive trivia feature is fun for about ten minutes. The questions were ultimately pretty easy and could have been written by some disinterested intern who just skimmed over episodes. It was kind of bumpy and not very engaging.

The original love letters are nothing new, but I too was shocked when some strange man started reading the new love letters. I mean, what were they thinking? No fan of the show wants to hear some random guy reading Vincent's words. I immediately pressed Stop and have no interest in checking out the rest.

The experience reached an all-new low when I started reading the love letters and noticed two typos in one letter. I am an editor and look for these things, but I am pretty sure any person with a brain knows that solace is spelled with an "a" and not solice, like they spelled it. And "breath" instead of "breathe"? Come on! Again, who put this together?

It's obvious that Ron and Linda (or anybody close to the show) had nothing to do with this box set, which is disappointing. No love was put into this at all - the abominable picture of Vincent on the cover symbolizes all that is wrong with this box set. When I think of the features on other DVD sets, I feel ripped off and let down. Why can't we see deleted scenes, interviews, and other cool bonus features?

The fans of this show are really connected to it - the mailing lists, conferences, fan fiction, etc. are still going strong twenty-one years later and this box set is just a slap in the face. If you don't have all the seasons, get this because it's cheaper than buying them separately. But if you already have the seasons, don't bother with this. It will only disappoint you. Beauty and the Beast - The Complete Series

If you've already purchased the show's three seasons separately, don't bother with the boxed set, as it's a complete waste of money.

In addition to the strangely altered image of Vincent on the box, the "bonus" disc is insulting to long-time fans. "Newly Reconstructed Love Letters" is read by God-knows-who ... certainly not Ron Perlman. Ridiculous. If you bought the VHS tapes way back when, you already have the original love letters, which also appear on the bonus disc.

Besides the love letters, the only other two features are episodic promos for some first season episodes - and "Vincent's Quest" - an interactive trivia game. No interviews, no deleted scenes, no behind-the-scenes footage ... nothing to warrant spending $70 if you've already purchased all three seasons individually.

What a disappointment.

There few tv shows that can let your imagination fly high. This is one of them. This modern fairy tale made you believe that love in its pure form could still exist. Ron Perlman made a fantastic representation of Vincent (man-beast) that would risk everything to protect his beloved Catherine. Even at the end of the serie that Catherine (Linda Hamilton) died; the strength of the sorrow and grief that the beast character projects turns the most cynical person into a watery pot. Thanks to CBS and these wonderful actors to create such a beautiful characters.

I read the other reviews of this DVD set and I disagree that it is not worth the money. I dearly loved this show when it came out, so much so that I could not even bear to watch the last season after Catherine died. It is only now I can find the courage to watch the final season and still I cried.

I agree the cover is not the Vincent we loved, but as was the heart of this series, it is not what something is on the outside that is important, it's what's inside. And what I found inside is disk after disk of girlhood memories. When the show was on originally, my TV reception was terrible and so I could not even see all of the episodes or savior the scenes as I can now on DVD.

It was a beautiful show and none since have come close to matching the passion of it.

I was shocked at first when I heard the voice reading the "reconstructed love letters". My heart sank that it was not Vincent's voice. However when I listened to it again, I think that it is Ron Perlman's voice. In the original readings for the sound track, I have read that he wore the mask while reading the poetry so it would sound like him. This many years later, I doubt that was a possibility. Listen without anger and see if anyone agrees that this is Ron's voice, not as Vincent, but as he is today.

I first watched Beauty and the Beast around the age of five. I was instantly mesmerized by the magical Vincent and the world Below. I remember asking my Grandmother "does that place really exist under the ground?" It was all so whimsical, yet strangely believable. Even more so to a child.

As an adult, I was reminded about my beloved childhood show and really excited when I ordered the box set. With the first episode, the same feelings of awe and mystery instantly came back to me. The love story between the characters is so poetic and beautiful. I also love the "do good, belief in humanity" morality of the show. I thoroughly enjoyed all the episodes, the characters, the music, the poetry (the latter two convinced me into buying the soundtrack which I also LOVE). I definitely recommend this show that has captured me from the age of five to twenty-seven.

Ps- The love letters are a nice edition, although I hear this isn't a new concept to this version of the box set. The re-constructed love letters are lessened by their non-Vincent narrator.

As an aging, white, heteosexual, incurably romamtic male who has been watching TV since the late 1950s, I think BEAUTY AND THE BEAST was the best show ever - with a caveat of the first two seasons only. For all you "BEASTIES" out there, the logical cover would have been the painting at the end of WHEN THE BLUE BIRD SINGS from season two. (By the way - does anyone know where I can get a print of that painting?)If you folks remember when we could only get Season # 1 on VHS, some of them had Vincent's lost Love Letters to Catherine. I suspect they put those in. Despite being read by Ron Pearlman, they were tripe. The CD was wonderful. - Linda Hamilton - Tv Series - Ron Perlman - Romance'

Elizabeth Montgomery - miniseries, elizabeth montgomery

I first saw this about 30 years ago, when it was originally broadcast. I saw once again the first part about 15 years ago, when it was shown again, but missed the rest due to a family crisis. I can honestly say the story stayed with me most of my life -- I was a kid the first time around. I very much wanted to own this, and kept watching for it to be available. In the meanwhile, I read the books it was based on: The Trees: First Book In Awakening Land Trilogy, Fields: Second Book In Awakening Land Trilogy, and The Town: Third Book In Awakening Land Trilogy. The books are really quite good, particularly if the subject matter interests you, and I found myself reading one at work and crying. However, the books only made me want to see the series again.

When it did become available -- through the Warner Brothers site and vendors here -- I jumped at the chance to purchase it and did a little happy dance. I told my husband about it, and cautioned him that it might be slightly cheesy. I said this because that happens sometimes with older shows -- you remember them one way and then cringe when you see them now. I really didn't want to be embarrassed and so I gave a preemptive, "I could be imagining how good it was, but it's really special to me and so humor me. 'K? Thanks."

The story follows Sayward Luckett for several decades, beginning in the late 1700s as her family comes to and settles land in the Ohio Valley. We see her fight to keep her family together and we see her marry a man because she's attracted to him, but also because he can provide an education for her future children. We see her go from a poor woman with little influence to the accidental founder of a town.

Here's the thing: there ARE cheesy moments. The third part is noticeably weaker than the two proceeding parts too, but I'd still very much recommend this. This is worth a willing suspension of disbelief in pretending the very much middle-aged Elizabeth Montgomery is a young girl at the beginning. She does a terrific job playing Sayward, a very admirable and strong character, and I can't imagine a more age-appropriate actress doing better. You care about this woman and you ache for her when tragedy strikes.

Hal Holbrook also does a terrific job at the educated Portius Wheeler. Of course, the actor has made a career out of playing smart people, but this role allows him to also play a man who does some unlikable things, but remains likable. He has terrific chemistry with Elizabeth Montgomery.

Also, look for a young and gorgeous Jane Seymour. The accent is a little iffy though. :) Oh, and a baby-faced William H. Macy.

While all three parts are worth watching, much of the third episode is vaguely like the TV series of Little House on The Prairie (as opposed to the Little House books.) Hey, I love LHOTP as much as the next person, more, but in this case it didn't meet the quality of the previous parts or focus on the characters we'd invested in; instead, much of the time over to the young son of Sayward and Portius. When I was a kid, I actually loved this part. Still, the ending brings it back to the solid writing and acting of the first two parts.

I'm very glad I got the opportunity to see this once again and I hope that -- now that it's available on DVD -- it will find a new, appreciative audience. Even with somewhat dated production values, this makes me long for the days of the miniseries and having several hours to follow a really good story. (Don't forget that the books are terrific, too!)

This is 5 stars from me, because it was powerful enough to stay with me for decades, because it showcases the talents of Elizabeth Montgomery -- who left us too soon -- and because it tells a terrific story, and because they really don't make 'em like that anymore. The Awakening Land

WONDERFUL MINI-SERIES. ELIZABETH MONTGOMERY IS GREAT. MAYBE WARNER HAS MORE OF HER WORK? I CERTAINLY HOPE SO.

PS- YOU CAN GET THIS FOR $24.99 AT WARNER ARCHIVE WEBSITE. DON'T PAY THESE SECONDARY SELLERS/CROOKS DOUBLE!

I remember watching this mini-series when it was first released. I very much enjoyed the story. What really surprised me was that it was filmed only 2 miles from where I was raised in New Salem State Park between Springfield and Petersburg, Illinois. Abraham Lincoln worked at the post office at New Salem. AS children we used to go to the park to walk the trails and go through the cabins. That was over 50 years ago. It was fun seeing all those things over again.

When I was a child we went to Disneyland and they had a panoramic exhibit. 360 degree surround movie of -- you guessed it -- New Salem State Park. Small world!

I've hoped for years to have this mini-series on DVD, and was excited to find out it was finally available. Unfortunately, the quality of the product is extremely poor. Both sound and picture skip and hesitate to the point that the discs are barely watchable. I understood when I ordered that this was not a "commercial" release, but thought that it would at least meet minimal quality standards. I would return it for a replacement, but fear that the next set would not be any better as this appears to be a production issue. I would not recommend purchasing this product, but I will continue to hope that at some point the series will be available as a real, quality DVD set.

The story is about pioneers in the Ohio country in the early 1800s. It deals with life as it really was in those days. The story mainly revolves around Elilabeth Montgomery and how she deals with all the hardships that she and her broken family go through. There are many side stories dealing with other members of the family and neighbors. The acting was good and the locales were acurate. It was very entertaining. I would highly recomend this mini-series.

5 Stars for the production and story line. I'll not bore you with a rehash of this wonderful story. I've been waiting on it to come out on DVD for years. Now that it did on DVD-R, I found it would not play in one of my DVD players (Panasonic). It's OK in my computer and in my Sanyo home theatre system though. If anyone out there in Amazon Land can tell me how to fix my Panasonic so it plays it, I'd love to hear from you. I highly recommend this mini series but just be aware that you might have to watch it somewhere you weren't planning on. - Elizabeth Montgomery - Drama - Hal Holbrook - Miniseries'

This watch is beautiful. I would love to buy a replacement for the one that I received..... but not certain whether I should or not. The watch worked for about 36 hours and then stopped. Didn't move again. Amazon has a great return policy - so the return has not been a problem. It's just s shame that such a beautiful watch has no staying power. Akribos XXIV Women's AKR431YG Diamond Gold Swiss Quartz Floating Watch

I love this watch! It's gorgeous. It's too lovely... the picture doesn't do it justice. Noticed that amazon says calfskin.. it's snakeskin. This is my first skeleton watch and I'm hooked. I like looking at the watch and seeing the little parts move inside. So cool!

Too bad amazon doesn't have it in stock anymore. I would like to buy one for my mom. Would make an excellent gift. - Steampunk'

Plus Size Girls School Uniform

These pants arrived at the same time as another pair by the same manufacturer and it appears they may run a little small. Of course, as juniors, they should be labeled as 25s instead of 24s and 25 sized pants are meant to be a size or so smaller than 24 sized pants. Even still, they still didn't fit as well as the jeans I got that were the same size and same company. The fabric looks sturdy and seems like it will hold up well. Creativity - girls, creativity

I purchased this for my 6-year-old granddaughter for Christmas. She loves arts and crafts and she loves kitties, so it was the perfect gift for her. She was delighted with it! As soon as she opened it, she stopped opening her other gifts and started decorating the kitties. We had to make her set it aside so she could open the rest of her gifts. The kitties are adorable and there are a lot of decorations to choose from. It was a big hit! Creativity for Kids Cute Kitties

I bought this as a gift for my niece's 7th birthday. She loves arts and crafts and kitties, so it was an instant hit. Her father sent pictures of her decorating the kitties as soon as they were out of the box. She still plays with them, and it's been 4 months since I bought them. Good for the imagination and affordable.

My daughter had a lot of fun making these with her little girlfriends. I have found having little projects like this around are great in a pinch when the adults want some time to chat and the kids (6 years old) are busy without having to be sent outside!

This is great for little kids who like cats and decorating things. They're an absolutely adorable design and the kit itself includes quite a few options for how to decorate. It's great since the kid's imaginations can just run wild. Good idea for a play date too!

This is our second kit and we have really enjoyed both of them. This is a great activity when the kids have a friend or two over. The only problem encountered is the glue that comes with it doesn't always stick all items securely. I had to assist and break out the super glue on occasion to secure some of the items.

This was a Christmas gift to my 6 year old granddaughter. She shared decorating the kitties with her grandfather and me, then we had a lot of pretend play with the three bobbleheads. Kept her busy and happy.

I have 4 girls 10 & under and this is a great activity for all. They love to decorate their kitty and make her look as pretty as can be. They usually sit on their dresser after that, but sometimes they grab them for play. We've gotten these before for my girls and for gifts.

she got started on it right on christmas day. loved all the little pieces to put on the cats. my only beef is that the "felt" fur is thin and can be torn off easily if scraped with a sharp object. (when using the silver crown as a necklace, the felt ripped) not a biggy, though, because she doesn't play rough with them.

I'm writing this review just to warn other customers that they might receive the Creativity for Kids plaster Christmas Gnome kit instead of the kitties. I was surprised and peeved to open my box to find the cheapish gnome kit, but understood the mistake when I discovered that the kitties' barcode sticker was on the gnome box. I bought something else for my granddaughter's gift from Ebay since I don't have time to wait for a replacement to be shipped from Amazon, esp. since the same thing might happen again. It seems somebody would have noticed this mistake before it was sent to me since it only takes a few seconds per item to look at the packing slip and compare it to the actual contents of the order. It was a blessing in disguise though, since the quality of the gnome really sucks and the kitties probably aren't much better. - Girls - Creativity'

Fountain Pens - fountain pens

Title sums it up, doesn't it? Cartridge or inkwell-based refills are an economical way to keep the pen flowing. For those of us who do daily journaling, the price savings really adds up.

I wish the international size held more ink, however. I can use up one of these in a week or two of regular writing, and a greater volume would probably be more economical and reduce waste. Still, the standardization has value in and of itself. Monteverde International Size Cartridge to Fit Fountain Pens, Black, 6 per Pack (G302BK)

Bought this for my wife's fountain pen, and it fits perfectly. I was a little skeptical at first thinking that it might not fit, but then again this is a standard size for most if not all fountain pens.

I have a Diplomat fountain pen, and most office stores have stopped carrying refills for it. Amazon to the rescue again!

The ink cartridges come in a blister pack of six, they write well, and last long. I keep hand written journal and am still on the first cartridge after a month.

I average two pages a night, plus sundry writing tasks, so I am well satisfied.

Good product.

This fountain pen cartridge fits my pen although I don't have a Monteverde pen. i thought the price was reasonable and shipping was fast. My only complaint is that the burgundy color is not as rich as I would like. - Fountain Pens'
