This case is a beautiful and beautifully crafted case. First of all, it was shipped and delivered in NO TIME. The case was ordered on Friday and was received and put to use by Tuesday! This case fits the iPad PERFECTLY with a slight amount of room for a skin if you have one. The zipper runs along the wide length of the case and continues halfway down the short side to make it crazy easy to slip in your new toy. The herringbone pattern is nice for men and women, and is a tasetful brown color. Over all, I am telling all my other fellow iPad parents- this is the case you have been looking for! Perfect. Case Logic IPAD-102 Apple iPAD Sleeve (Brown Herringbone)
This is a fantastic cover for those that are looking for extra protection for their iPad 2. I had purchased the magnetic smart cover at Apple when I bought the iPad but wanted to make sure that I had a protective case for it when traveling. Previous reviews indicated that most had purchased this item for use with the first generation iPad so I wasn't sure how well it would fit my iPad 2. The good news is that it's a perfect fit for the iPad 2 even with the magnetic cover on the front. I know that it may not protect the iPad from damage if dropped but since I was really just hoping for an attractive cover to use to protect the backside of the iPad 2 when traveling (i.e., if I place the iPad in my travel tote or purse), it's worked out perfectly for me. I highly recommend this item.
To preface this review, I originally purchased the Incase neoprene sleeve for the iPad in black. It was promptly returned to the retailer I purchased it from. The Incase neoprene sleeve was very well made, and I truly have nothing bad to say about it, except that it was way too big. Simply stated, you could store 3 iPads in it with room to spare. You can read my review of the Incase Neoprene Sleeve for iPad here:
Incase Neoprene Sleeve for iPad - Black
I purchased the Caselogic IPAD-101 to replace the Incase neoprene sleeve mentioned above. As advertised, the Caselogic sleeve fits the iPad perfectly! In addition to properly fitting the device it was intended to protect, the exterior is covered in nice, heavy nylon. The sleeve feels nice in hand, the suede accents look and feel nice, and the zipper is nice and durable.
Caselogic has a lot of room to improve the interior of this sleeve. Sadly, the interior is the only reason I did not rate this sleeve 5-stars. The interior is simple nylon, embossed with Caselogic's logo. Given that most of Caselogic's competition has lined the interior of their iPad cases and sleeves with microfiber, faux suede, or fleece, that Caselogic did not was a disappointment. One can assume this was to keep costs down, but either way, I would have happily spent an additional $5 or $10 for a soft, plush-lined interior.
Overall the Caselogic sleeve is well constructed, durable, and fits the iPad perfectly. It carries a 25 year warranty, and aside from the apparent lack of interior detailing, I like this sleeve.
I'm currently using the isee cover on my iPad. At first I wasn't sure I could get the zipper closed, but I needn't have worried. This case will fit just fine. It might be a little snug, but just leave it zipped up in the case overnight and no worries from there. The casebooks smart! I love the herringbone pattern and the subdued logo. It really protects my iPad and I feel confident putting this in my satchel and boarding the bus for my morning commute. The conservative outside is nicely juxtaposed by the bright orange lining. Nice design touch. I would recommend this to anyone. - Apple - Case Logic - Accessories - Ipad Cover'

Kindle Book Light - book light, book lights
I've bought many book reading lights, but this is absolutely the best. The flex-neck allows the light to be evenly distributed over any book size, whether its paperback or hard cover.
The Lithium button cell batteries do seem to last a long time. If you buy them in bulk, it's not too expensive to replace, a much better option than the heavy rechargeable units.
It's now 2010, and have not found any reason to look for anything better from a weight, battery life, and function standpoint. I now have 3 for use in multiple locations. LightWedge Flex Neck Reading Light, Soft Touch Black
This reading light is great, the flexing neck lets you bend it any way you need for where you clip it, the 2 LEDs put out just the right ammount of light to see both pages perfectly without throwing any light around the room, and for 10 bucks you just cant beat this. Best reading light ever.
Update: Been using this for several months now. Still like it very much.. the batteries are a little more expensive than AAAs would be, $5 for the 2 it uses if I remember correctly, but its worth it cuz theyre very lightweight.
The power in my house goes out on a regular basis, so I finally figured out that maybe getting a book light or two would be a worthwhile investment. After reading the reviews, I decided to get both a Great Point Light-Flex-Neck and a Flex Light from Fulcrum. Each has its pluses and minuses and which one is better for you depends on what you want to use it for.
The Fulcrum light is brighter than the Great Point and covers a larger area. The switch is also much easier to use since it slides. On the Great Point, the top presses down and it's hard to get it to stay on. Sometimes it switches off for no apparent reason. It's either a poor design or I got a defective unit. The Fulcrum also takes 3 AAA batteries, which fit into the base, making it both heavier (about 2 1/2 ounces compared to about 1 1/2 ounces for the Great Point) and as a result making the clip a lot bulkier as well. The Great takes lithium batteries, much lighter, but also harder to find.
The Fulcrum is too heavy and too bulky to make it easy to attach to a paperback, and if you want to attach it to any book and hold the book up to read, it gets heavy very quickly. Its brighter light and greater weight and area make it a good choice for when you want to set a larger and heavier book on a table or for attaching to a very sturdy and prominent back rest, plus the easy availability of AAA batteries means you probably have a spare set around when the ones in the Fulcrum run out or at least you can grab replacements at the grocery store. The Great Point is better if you want to attach it to a book you are holding up to read, or to a paperback, or for when you want a little less light so as not to disturb a partner in bed. In any event, since they are both better than reading by candlelight both suit my needs, but one or the other is probably going to be better for most people depending on what you want. Or spring for both so you always have a spare. At this price, you could just about afford one for every room.
This is a very lightweight reading light which wraps and snaps into itself, making it convenient to throw into a purse or travel bag. The on/off switch won't turn on due to jostling around in your bag, either. This is not my favorite reading lamp, however, since the clear area for the light illumination is also on the sides, not just the end of the lamp. This makes the light glare out on those around you instead of focusing only on your book. I prefer a more focused style lamp for home use.
EDIT: April 2008
The manufacturer states we should get "30 hours of light from 2 CR 2032 batteries." I read a minimum of 3 nights a week for 30 minutes.
The light dimmed beyond usefulness after 2 months. While this meets the manufacturer's estimate, it is bothersome and expensive to replace the batteries which cost around $4 each.
NOTE: I have switched to using the Fulcrum Multi Flex LED Book Light (now $10.99 - noticed $5.99 December 07). This light takes 3 AAA batteries that I can buy inexpensively in bulk. The light weight, sturdy clip, and bendable neck is much the same. More light for the buck.
------------------------------------------------
ORIGINAL POST:
The Great Point Light at $9.99 is a fabulous bargain! It weighs very little and feels as if it isn't there as I hold the book. The clamp stays put and easily attaches to both paperback and hardback books. It sheds just the right amount of light (something you'd think all book lights would do). The cap around the light keeps the light aimed at the page and allows me to read and my husband to sleep (or drive if we're in the car).
I have a bedside drawer full of substandard book lights including:
- Zelco's Itty Bitty Booklight bulbs burnt out quickly and were expensive to replace. I've owned three and all three neck pieces failed to stay up and over time kept falling down toward the book page.
- The Phorm Light Voyager at $24.99 was way overpriced and heavy, falling of paperbacks and adding to the weight of a hardback.
- Tectron's battery powered LED book light sheds so little light I had to keep moving it around as I read.
- Tote's Slim Clip is small which is good, but the clip doesn't hold many pages and comes off easily. Also, the light is a narrow focus and has to be moved around as you read.
- I have more, but you get the idea.
I'm buying more Great Point Light book lights in case they stop making them, the price goes up, and to have in different rooms of the house. Great for car too. Maybe I should just buy stock in the company! - Book Light - Kindle Booklight - Book Lights - Kindle Book Light'

Ridgid Jointer Blades
I was pleased to find these Ridgid planer blades as Home Depot has not had them for years. At least the Home Depot's I tried did not have them. Belts
Very soft and supple leather - much higher quality than other belts in this price range. Solid workmanship. Flexible style makes it suitable for either dress or casual wear. After two months of nearly continuous usage, no evidence of splitting, creasing or wear. Excellent value! Dockers Men's 32mm Feather Edge Reversible Belt,Brown/Black,36
The brown side has a nice appearance, but the black side is not glossy like the brown side. I would buy a size over if you like the extra length at the end. I'm a 34, and bought a 34. I'm somewhere at the last hole/ 2nd to last hole.
Belt feels and looks nice. Changing it between colors requires a bit more effort than other reversible belts I have owned. I was afraid of maybe pulling it too hard but eventually it does move. As others have mentioned, you should buy one size up from your waist size. My waist is a 31, but I am using the second to last hole on the 32 belt. Still good enough, but if I happen to pack on some pounds later it won't follow me :P
I usually don't care about which belt I use. However, this is a very soft comfortable belt.
I travel quite a bit and having the reversable belt makes it easier to have one less item to bring.
It is stylish and holds up well. The edges don't fray like previous belts. I have had it for about 6 months.
Some reviewers suggest buying a size larger than your waist. That wasn't my experience-I measured the belt and it was exactly the size stated at the "tightest" hole on the belt. So even if I was 4" larger at the waist, I would have been fine. I'm more worried that I'll lose a few pounds and have to drill an extra hole in the belt. The belt's quality is very good-no need to pay $30 at other places (I'm looking at you, L.L. Bean) for a belt that doesn't look like it was on special at Walmart. I bought two belts and am very happy with both the quality and the price.
I've owned several reversible belts, none very satisfying. This has well-made hardware, surprisingly supple leather, and I find both sides equally attractive. You could pay $30.00 for this and not feel ripped-off.
I got this for my 32 year old son for Christmas. He really loves it, says not having to search for either a black or brown belt in the morning is wonderful. It is a nice looking belt with a conservative buckle.
It's not a really great belt, but it also does not have the really great belt price. Looks nice, fits well, reverses easily. When I ordered this, I wore a size 40 pants and ordered a size 40 belt, figuring it would fit OK, then I would shrink into it. While the belt does say size 40, I used the middle notch. Now that I am size 38, it's at the lowest setting. So I do not know what the deal is with people saying one should order a belt that is one size up.
It's 100% leather with one side being a nice dark brown and the other side being black.
It's very easy to switch back and forth, takes seconds so it's really nice for any look
whether wearing black or brown. The quality is very good for the price!'

Large Screen - gps, map update
This product is extremely easy to use - I only found one or two of the very extensive options to be a little unintuitive, but after less than a couple hours of poking around the features you really get a glimpse of the depth of the product. It may not have a few of the features that the $400+ models carry, but for my needs it far meets and exceeds. I was a little disappointed when it wouldn't find a numbered address on a highway ( such as when a smaller state highway runs through a city street ), but the database of points of interest had my destination on file.
I was somewhat concerned about the voice volume issue that I'd read about in a few of these reviews ( after already having put my purchase order in ), but I'd have to say any units with poor volume have to be from a bad batch - even at the default 70% volume it was clearly audible with music playing and a window open at highway speeds. At max volume you really can't miss it unless you have difficulty hearing in general, though I found a few of the default voices were softer than others. Since it seems possible to create your own voice sets, and some voice sets are louder than others, I would assume one could edit a copy of the default voice and increase the gain / volume and reinstall, but there are a number of built in voices that are wholly satisfactory in the volume department.
If I had to list any cons, it would be that base package voices still show up in the menu even if you remove them from the TomTom with the manager software. The inability to find an address on a highway might be a weakness of all navigators for all I know, as I've not had much experience with any others.
If you buy this, definitely spend some time with the management software. There is a goodly amount of user supplied content ( maps, points of interest databases, and even voices ) that are free, as well as the normal software updates.
When I left the store with it the most difficult part of setting it up was getting it out of the evil tough plastic packaging that most of us are familiar with. A car charger was included, so I plugged it in, answered a few basic questions, did a short tour and was on my way to my next destination within only a few minutes. Normally I can't find my way out of a paper bag, even if I'm still outside of the bag, so this is probably the best $200 I've ever spent. A separate data cable is also included for connecting to your home PC ( which will be required to update the software and add new features to the device ).
There is an optional attachment and service you can purchase that will give you real time weather and traffic data. I understand that there is a monthly fee for this additional service, but I've not yet bought the extra receiver so I can't comment on its performance or cost.
In short - if you want a very well rounded GPS navigator for an excellent price, you can't go wrong with the XL 330. I know what a few friends and family are getting for the holidays this year. TomTom XL 330 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (Box Version)
I have a Garmin c320 GPS unit and wanted to upgrade to a model with more features - particularly coordinates and "Where Am I" features. After reading the reviews, I really liked the features in the TomTom XL 330. The only hesitation I had was with the speaker volume. The Amazon reviews showed some buyers that had speaker problems with their units. There were enough positive reviews to make me buy it.
PROS:
1. Lots of customization. You can change color schemes, choose your voice, change viewing angles (Garmin c320 & 205W can't do that).
2. "Where Am I?" This is far superior than Garmin. It shows in what City, Township, Municipality, etc. you are and the nearest address. This can be very valuable when calling for help. Garmin only gives nearest address and nearest intersection (which I like to call "some random intersection within a few miles")
3. Alternative routes. If you don't like the route you're given, you can ask for a new one. Read more in the Cons.
4. Tons of route control. You can look through a list of every turn ahead of time and ask it to avoid a certain place on that route.
5. Compact, attached mount. I didn't use it, but it was a cool idea. The mount would detach from the unit or you could leave it on and fold it in.
6. Fixing map errors. I never got to see this in action, but it sounded really cool.
7. Results as you type. I loved this feature and will really miss it with my new Garmin. As you type a street name or city, it will show you the results as you narrow them down. This can really save time and effort.
CONS:
1. Routing. (Deal-breaker one) The routing seemed to have a large bias toward driving on interstates. It seemed to me that the reason was insufficient non-interstate speed limit information. For example, I asked the Garmin and TomTom for a route from Irwin, PA to Oakland, MD. The Garmin used state routes and backroads to get us there in 2 hours. The TomTom insisted we take mostly interstate (and adding many, many miles) at an estimate of 2.5 hours. The TomTom alternate route was even longer. (Google Maps, Yahoo! Maps, Mapquest all were similar to Garmin's route.) When we took the Garmin route, the TomTom said it would take over 2.5 hours (adding existing travel time + time left), but as we drove, the time remaining kept decreasing super fast. The Garmin's arrival time was rock steady all the way.
2. Address entry without City. (Deal-breaker two) There are many occasions in which I have a street address, but don't know the city. You know -- maybe someone lives in a Township with a city's mailing address, or any area known as "North Hills" has many post office names, but you don't know which one. Garmins give you a "Search all cities" option. TomTom has no option. You must enter a city. If you don't know it, you won't get there.
3. SPEAKER. (Deal-breaker three) I had read two problems with the speaker; 1) too quiet, 2) garbled. I figured that if I got a bad one, I'd exchange it and I'd get a good one. How widespread could the problem be? Well -- the first unit was very quiet. If you have the radio on, you can't hear this thing. I called TomTom and the nice rep seemed to be very familiar with the problem and suggested returning it to the store. So fine, I shipped it back to Amazon. The second unit was much louder. Wait -- you couldn't understand it, it was all garbled. Well, third time should work. NOPE -- just like the first, you couldn't hear it.
4. POI annoyances. On my first unit, when searching for a POI, it would show the distance you were from the POI, but not which direction it was from you. This made it unusable. I won't make a big deal of this, because my unit #2 did have a directional arrow for each POI. This may have to do with software version on the unit. Secondly, though, it only listed a few pages of POIs. I would have liked to see more choices.
5. Graphics. The graphics rendering was very jagged and old-looking. Garmin is far ahead here.
After doing all this testing, my decision was easy. Even if the speaker actually worked, the first two cons make it unusable for me. I returned them all. I recommend the Garmin nuvi 205W 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (although it has it's own weaknesses, watch for my review there).
My final question is -- TomTom, don't manufacturers test products before they get shipped to poor American consumers?? - Map Update - Gps - Large Screen - Maps'

SanDisk 8 GB Ultra II SDHC Card with MicroMate USB 2.0 Reader
As long as your devices are compatible with the SDHC format, this is a great card. The 8 GB capacity on this guy makes it perfect for high capacity storage. The Ultra II speed is definitely fast enough for most users at just under 10 MBs. But professional photographers storing pictures in RAW image formats will want to step up to the Extreme III cards that are about twice as fast as these Sandisk SDSDRX38192 Extreme III SDHC 8GB Card with MicroMate Reader. Overall this is a solid product perfect for users that store images in JPEG formats or are recording videos in standard definition.
There are a few tips that I've learned the hard way through buying many different SDHC memory cards.
1. If you are buying this for a camera or other device, make sure your device is SDHC compatible. SDHC is different from regular SD and only newer devices tend to have built-in compatibility
2. Once you install this in your camera or device, you will generally want to format the card with your compatible device's interface. That is because the standard formats for certain devices, particularly Canon, are different from the factory installed format
3. Just like your devices, most computer SD card readers are not compatible with the SDHC format. So use the microMate reader, like the one included here, or download the pictures via USB connection to the camera with the card still installed.
4. For some reason, placing the card in the locked position allows some older laptops to still read it. This is just to be used in a pinch however, and it won't apply to all systems
5. If you did not properly format your card, you may be able to save things to it and then have them "disappear." If this happens to you, make sure you use the software recovery tools BEFORE you try to save anything else to your card. That way, you can retrieve your images without over-writing them.
6. Make sure you know what you are going to use this card for. Once you have set up everything and ensured it's all compatible, you still have to decide on speed. If you are using this for storing RAW images instead of JPEGs or HD video, step up to the faster Extreme III format that is about twice as fast as this one.
Conclusion
This is an awesome card as long as you have done your homework. The included reader can also be bought separately. Buying one of these sets to have the extra reader and then you can buy more stand alone cards and save the cash. This guy is about $65, $10 less than the Extreme III. Make sure you review your needs because if you have a high capacity camera (10 Megapixels or more) and are storing videos or RAW images, the extra $10 is worth it. For everybody else, this will more than meet your needs.
Enjoy! SanDisk ULTRA SDHC 8GB Class 4 Flash Memory Card SDSDRH-008G-A11
You can get up to 64min of video on a Canon G9 using the highest quality setting (1024 x 768 @ 15FPS) which would equal 8 GB.
If long video is important to you G9'ers, this is the biggest one they got.
This 8 GB capacity card does not come in Ultra III speed, Ultra II is the fastest you're going to get right now for this capacity, and it is a negligible difference vs. my Ultra III 4GB card.
The included free USB card Reader is *clutch* to have with you in your camera case, unless you like carrying an extra camera wire around with you to transfer images... It also saves the batteries while transferring images. This device worked with Win XP, without having to install any drivers as well.
Excellent product. The 8GB card works great in my Canon S5 IS. I get just over an hour of the best quality video or over 2,200 best quality photos! It formats (normal & low level) everytime. Best quality video records and plays back perfectly smooth. The card is plenty fast. The Micromate reader is great. It has a flashing green LED during file transfer and the protective cap fits over either the USB toungue or the card when in use. It's small and lightweight yet feels durable. True SanDisk quality.Highly recommended unless the 16GB version becomes affordable. I may buy one just for a backupdrive on my laptop.
A fast card that's able to hold about 470 raw images taken by my 10 megapixel Pentax K10D. Enough room for more than 1600 high quality JPEGs. It's nice not having to worry about carrying an extra memory card or deleting pictures during a trip just too free space to take another. Only had it the card for one month so I can't comment on reliability.
I am using this card for RAW+JPEG shooting and HD video with the Nikon D90. Plenty of capacity and plenty fast. I have always used genuine SanDisk products (CF, SD and MicroSD) and have never had a single issue with any one of them. Great card at a great price, I'm happy. - Memory Card - Sandisk - 8gb - Sd Card'

We bought this power wheels about a month ago, and our daughter has been glued to it ever since. She's 2 years old, and it's the first toy she runs to when she gets home from school. The battery longevity is better than I expected. It lasts every bit of an entire evening with her driving as well as friends kids that come over and play with it too. It's slow enough that anyone could walk beside it while a child operates it, and fast enough that it isn't boring to the kids (as long as it's on pavement, in the grass it goes pretty slow). Overall I'm very satisfied with the purchase. Hope that helps. Power Wheels Barbie Volkswagen Beetle
Bought 2 of them for our twin 2 y/o girls. My twins are a tad on the smaller side but they fit on these perfect with plenty of rm to grow. Their 3 y/o brother fits in it as well. My husband put both of them together in about an hr, stickers are hard to put on without having bubbles in areas. They are adorable.
I bought this for my daughter who when she rode it for the first time had the biggest smile I think she'd ever given. As far as the build quality of this it is very decent! The battery drains very quickly however but at least it's a rechargeable battery and it DOES come with one. The really hard part of this car was putting on the thousand decals it comes with it. I felt like an expert car detailer by the time I was done but the decals are very thick and strong allowing you to make many mistakes and corrections. Be careful not to put them on too quick as you are sure to get air bubbles and creases as you place the decals around several curves.
I bought this for my 2 year old daughter and she absolutely loves it! Its very compact yet still had a lot of space for the little driver. She loves to drive it in the kitchen and spin it around lol. Drives great around the yard but has a little trouble in the grass due to the small tires, a few hex head screws into the tires should fix that though for traction. overall very happy for the price!
My husband and i got this for our year in a half daughter and she just loves it. she doesn't steer the car very well (to be expected) but she does love to open and slam the door shut and its very durable. i had trouble putting it together even with the few pieces i had to put together and the stickers are TERRIBLE to put on. I ended up ripping some trying to get air bubbles out and re sticking over and over agian, but my daughter doesn't mine. Really cute! i would recommened it.
This is such a cute little car. Pretty much comes assembled, but you do have to do some...the stickers were a huge pain for us. They have a couple of really long stickers on there...especially the windshield one...was hard to put on it and doesnt look that great. Would be better to do stickers differently, but other than that its a great car. We havent had it that long, but our daughter loves it so far. She got it for Christmas and loves to sit in it so much. Very good gift for her so far.
We ordered this for Christmas for our little Grandaughter. My husband had partially put it together and set it aside. We discovered a few days later that the car's body had about a 9 inch crack in it. It had arrived upside down (according to package details) and also opened. We are very disappointed! But not surprised! We are waiting for a replacement .Crossing our fingers that this will be RIGHT!
Our Granddaughter is a tiny, 15 months old. I thought this would be a great Christmas present, BUT... she can't quite push the "power" and the loud noise bothered her. She got in it right away, so she obviously liked the car... I am thinking it won't be long until she overcomes her minor setbacks and is cruising the neighborhood :) - Battery Powered Ride-on - Electric Car - Electric Vehicles - Ride-on Toys'

Bronzers - bronzers, tanning lotion
So i just got out of the tanning bed after using this lotion for the first time. It goes on very smooth and i love that. However the smell and packaging of this particular lotion caters more to men which is great if you're a man. IMO the smell is good but reminds of men's cologne...maybe just me idk. It has not been 24 hours yet but i don't really see myself 3 shades darker as this product adbvertises..but they say you continue to tan for 24 hours so we'll see. I do think i am darker and this is a nice lotion. When i got out if felt like i had no lotion on at all which is great and after i applied "perfectly pink" after tan lotion and now i smell amazing! i guess the 2 scents together really compliment eachother! The girl at the salon raved about this stuff and she said it reminds her of a perfume she used to wear..so i guess it depends on your skin's chemistry. I think it's great for men becuase who wants to walk around with a big pink bottle of tanning lotion right? So overall a nice product..just not for me.
update: Wow..i should have waited to write this review...i really noticed a darker tan after a few hours...And when my husband got home he could tell the difference...so i love this lotion..but i still think it caters to men but who cares...if it gets me dark..i'll just sqirt on some perfume :) NICE LOTION! New White 2 Black Indoor Tanning Bed Lotion By Devoted Creations
I am the palest person I know and I do not tan that well...I bought a packet of this today at the tanning place and tried it...Didn't think much of it at first...About an hour later after I had showered and put a white shirt on I realized how tan I looked!! Very even too...I love this stuff...Just bought the bottle and can't wait to see what happens the second time...Only thing is that I wish it had a more beachy scent...thats what I love most about tanning lotion...Love it though!!
I tried a sample packet of White 2 Black at my tanning salon and noticed results as soon as I got home.
This lotion WILL give you instant color, and it will continue to darken.
I like to tan in the evenings then I wait to shower in the mornings so that the lotion has time to reach full effect and everything.
With that being said, I am very pleased with the results of this product. I have also heard other great reviews on it.
I recommend this lotion to those who already have a base tan, want faster results with color, or want to break through their tanning plateau.
White 2 Black has a fresh scent that is unisex. The packaging may not be super girly like a lot of other products for tanning, but that's no big deal at all.
Also, it has been 2 days now since I last tanned and I still have lot's of color from this lotion. I went ahead and purchased the full size bottle today at my salon. Looking forward to seeing how the color ends up after using this for an extended period.
I used this tanning lotion last summer and was pleased with the results. I don't think I was "instantly three shades darker" but I did get tan really fast, within a couple sessions. I was iffy about using a bronzer because I don't like them, but this bronzer gave my skin a natural dark tan instead of that orange glow most bronzers give people. It was not overpowering bronzer. As for the smell it didn't bother me that much, maybe it is different depending on your skin's chemistry. If you like the island fruity smells in tanning lotions though this one doesn't have it. Overall I was pleased with the product and I will be using it again this summer.
I love the Black to White tanning lotion. I have tried many tanning products, but this one by far top them all. Even the lady at my tanning salon explained that it was their biggest seller and could barley keep it on the shelf. I won't use any other product!
This was my first time purchasing tanning lotion from Amazon. I was very impressed with the timeliness of delivery and quality of product. It is the same tanning lotion they sell in a salon at a MUCH cheaper price! I definitely reccomend this product!
Wow! Just ordered another bottle. Usually use two different tanning lotions every other time I tan but I am sticking to this one. I notice a big, long lasting difference in just one tanning session caompared to others and the smell is great!!!
First of all, I've tried several of these types of indoor tanning lotions so I have some experience to compare with. I am fair-complected so I require extra bronzers to achieve the color that I'm after. Some lotions claim to get you really dark but I have not been too impressed with them. This lotion delivers the results that I'm looking for. The biggest problem I have with it is the smell. As others have said, it's kind of masculine-smelling, but it's not so bad that I would throw it away. It goes on smooth and moisturizes well but it does leave a bit of a slimy feeling on my skin, which I could do without but, then again, I've noticed that problem with other lotions I've used. Also, there is only 8.5 oz in the bottle so don't expect it to last long. I think it should cost a little less considering that fact.... Bottom line: this product does a much better job than most at getting me the color that I want very quickly so I would probably consider buying it again. My favorite lotion is "Black" by Designer Skin but it does cost a bit more -- it gets me the nice, dark color without the smell or the slimy feeling afterwards :) - Tan - Bronzers - Tanning Lotion - Indoor Tanning'

Note that this children's supplement contains only 1.5 gram of sugars per tablet. Compare to the following foods that I have seen children regularly consume:
GoGurt 10 gram of sugars (which contains sugar AND high-fructose corn syrup and so some contend contains more grams of sugar per ounce than Coca-Cola!)
Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Cereal Bars (fruit-filled) 13 grams of sugars
Apple juice box drink 12-13 grams of sugars
Cranberry juice cocktail (4 oz) 15 grams of sugars
Welch's Fruit Snacks (1 bag) 15 grams of sugars
Quaker Instant Oatmeal (Apple) 16 grams of sugars
Kellogg's Pop-Tarts (Blueberry, Frosted Blueberry) 16 grams of sugars
Yoplait Original yogurt 25-27 grams of sugars
So the amount of sugar in NutriStars Kid's Multivitamin is very low. Yet our child has eaten this supplement every morning, even reminding me to give him his multivitamin if I forgot to give it to him. I believe that this is because we usually do not feed him highly sweetened foods, especially not foods sweetened with high-fructose corn syrup. For example:
**We snack on apples and cheese, apples and peanut butter, yogurt and veggies, veggie chips, Triscuits and cheese, raisins and nuts, etc., NOT on Gummy products, Yoplait or Dannon yogurt, yogurt-covered fruit, or "fruit" snacks.
**We buy peanut butter made only with peanuts (no added salt or sugar) and unsweetened applesauce (made with no added sugar).
**I often make plain, lactose-free yogurt (my husband and I are lactose-intolerant), sometimes sweetened only with whole or crushed fruit or a bit of honey.
**We buy only bread (made with as much whole wheat as possible) sweetened with honey or sugar, but not with high-fructose corn syrup. I also try to make our own sandwich bread semi-regularly, using only honey as a sweetener.
But at the end of last October, we "caved" and bought lollies, Tootsie Rolls, Dots, etc. and then continued to give sweets in November and December (small am't of fruit pie, chocolate, bakery cake, or Wendy's Frosty)--not daily, but I'd say some highly sweetened item every 1-2 weeks. After routinely eating such highly sweetened foods for a couple of months, our son began to dislike the taste of the supplement a bit (but he still ate them without trouble).
So, IMHO, as long as your child is not accustomed to eating highly sugared foods such as most store-bought boxed breakfast cereals, packaged instant oatmeal, most breakfast bars, Pop-Tarts, most store-bought yogurt (Yoplait, Dannon, etc.), donuts, candy, juice cocktail drinks, soda, etc., the natural citrus flavor of this supplement should not be a problem. And we will be returning to our healthy ways of eating to get our son back on track. :-) Rainbow Light Nutri Stars Multivitamin & Multimineral Chewables Children's Tablets 120 tablets
This is one of the best tasting kid's multi-vitamins with iron that we have found...and we have tried plenty of them over the years. The fact that they are plant-based and include all the major nutrients is definitely a plus also.
Because this multi-vitamin includes so many benefits, it has been difficult for us to find anything else it compares with nutritionally. I like that it also includes whole food concentrates of vegetables, plant-source digestive enzymes, and herbs in addition to the *regular* multi-vitamin component. Note that it does include wheat sprouts so it's not for those who are on gluten-free eating plans.
Taste-wise, we've been giving it to our 3 children for several years. The youngest started at 2-years-old and it was okay with her sometimes and other times she wouldn't want it. Our older two are currently 5 and 7 and take theirs daily. They suck on them till they're gone (even though if it were me, I would chew it to get it over with). The 2-year-old chews hers quickly and is done with it. For having iron in them, they don't have that iron-taste (thank goodness).
Yes, gummy vitamins would taste better but these are a lot better for you/your children. We actually have vitamin D gummies that we give the kids in the winter. Knowing that when they eat their "stars" they get a couple gummies too is a great motivator! ;) - Kids Vitamins - Rainbow Light - Health - Vitamins'

Video Production - audio technica, film making
Been using my ATR-55 for over a year. Really like the amplified TELE feature that seems to reach out and grab sounds, without picking up hardly any surrounding noise. But hey, its uni-directional, so that's one of the things it's supposed to do. Nevertheless, the NORMAL zone is about a 120degree V in front of the mic, and the TELE is about a 90degree V-zone. Was videotaping our school's football game, and filmed one half in TELE mode, and the second half in NORMAL mode. The TELE mode was almost eerie, because you could pick up the voices out on the field, but all the surrounding noise (fans) could hardly be heard. The NORMAL mode picked up a little more audience noise, so it sounded more natural, but nevertheless still filtered out the other people talking in the press tower with me. The TELE mode is very nice for lectures, so that it doesn't pick up distracting noises, including that of the camcorder's mechanism - that's why I go this in the first place, because the OMNI-directional microphone in the digital camcorder was picking up too much noise (including its own motor) during really quiet lectures. Just be aware that this unit is _not_ stereo - you should either get a mono-to-stereo adapter to use with it, or set the sound input on the camcorder to mono. Otherwise, you'll just get sound coming out of one speaker on stereo play-back. If you need stereo, get the ATR-25, which is very nice and also uni-directional, but lacks the ATR-55's TELE feature. Basically, TELE was more important to me than stereo, but it might be different for you. I wear headphones plugged into the camcorder while filming, this way I can better monitor the sound pickup, and make a determination between whether TELE or NORMAL is best for any given situation - the difference is noticeable. I gave it four stars because it is very good, but I'm sure units like a nice Sennheiser are better, but for much more money. This is a nice looking, solidly built unit, and a decent value to boot.
UPDATE (03.07.2010): Be aware that the ATR-55 requires the use of one AA battery that is installed inside its aluminum shell. Audio Technica ATR-55 Condenser Shotgun Microphone
I've rented the high end gear before (Seinheiser shotgun with full zeppelin setup) and I've got to say that this little mic is an odd little option that I like having in my bag of tricks for shooting movies.
It is VERY easy to use. I love the tonality in the 'standard' mode, though the range is quite low when compared to other high end mics. So, as a 'shotgun', the standard mode is pretty useless. However, it delivers a very rich and engaging tone and I find myself using this mic in 'standard' mode very often for regular vocal performances.
The 'tele' mode definitely extends the range...Quite a bit further than the high end mics in fact. The problem is that the overall sound can become a little thin. It definitely doesn't have the same warm quality as the standard mode. However, if you can't get a boom in close enough (and you don't have LAV's), the telescopic mode can really get you out of a jam.
Standard mode = great sound with good directionality, but poor range.
Tele mode = thin sound, good directionality, very good range.
this is a good mici just got back from our first shoot using this thing insted of onboard camera micswhat a differencethe range in incridblewe had someone just walk out and keep talking, i switched the mic to tele and i could hear him allmost 100 meters away from the camera on headphoneshas both tele (for long distance, often picks up to much back ground noise, and is not best for close up situations) and normal(which has decent distance as well and works fine indoors)the only problem was that we kept getting it in the picture, but thats not a mic malfunction, just me being stupidthe windscreen is very useful, i have allways had trouble with wind using onbard camera mics, and this works much betteryes, it is mono, only putting out sound to the left ear, but using premeire you can just duplicate the left audio track and it comes out fine.well worth itonly downside is the tele pickup gets a bit fuzzy with background noise
This is a great microphone. I bought it and tested all functions the same day. I am shooting some non-budget short movies and it comes in very handy. Very clean sound. Deep base and crisp high tone. The price is outstanding, I feel like I'm ripping off Audio-Technica. What a steal! I don't see any reason not giving it 5 stars. It does what it promises for so little money. My only wish is that the cable would be a little longer, but then it would loose on quality, because it's not an XLR connector. Who cares though, most camcorders don't come with XLR anyway (not mine). I say buy it, you won't regret it. It's gold for peanuts.
While this microphone does give you decent sound quality and performance for a good price, they aren't built very well and don't last long. In September '06 I purchased ten of these microphones for teachers to use in their classroom with students. It's now May, and all but two have failed.
The problem is that the wire used for these is so thin and delicate that it breaks after only a few months of normal use/handling (rough use cuts that down to a few weeks). What's more, most electronics repair shops refuse to repair these because of the poor quality of the materials used. Azden makes a similar microphone for a few more dollars. I've had better luck with it, even though it appears to be made of only slightly better materials. As these break, I'm replacing them with the Azden SGM-X (about $110 new). So far, so good.
I tried to be as frugal as reasonably possible in my video spending (Canon ZR 800 cameras are doing OK so far...) but it appears that a decent shotgun microphone that you can expect to last for more than a year starts at around $110. Best of luck; not an expert in this area, so would appreciate any advice from those "in the know" for good mics to use with younger students. THX - Shotgun - Audio Technica - Mic - Film Making'

Logitech - logitech quickcam, logitech webcam
This is a fantastic webcam with a great set of software tools. I use it for conference calls where we share whiteboards and the picture quality is fantastic. Also Skype allows you to do high-def video calls with this camera. Highly recommended with very good price / quality ratio! Logitech QuickCam Orbit
This camera provides a very good picture but mounting it is a challenge. It doesn't sit on top of a flat screen monitor and if you use the pedestal you have to put it up on a 12" stand in order for it to be in front of you. The only other choice is to have it off to the side, but then your guest thinks you're being rude by not looking at them. It's like when the news anchor is looking at the wrong camera.
I decided to purchase a webcam, and as long as I was going to get one I figured I might as well get a good one. I had a dinky one many years ago, so old it wouldn't even work with today's operating systems. One feature I knew I wanted the new cam to have is autofocus. This Logitech Orbit delivers a beautiful picture indeed. I've read just about all the previous reviews, the positive and the negative. Yes, the servo that controls the "follow me" movement of the camera isn't perfect, but it's good and I'll learn how to work with it. The manual controls are easy to use anyway and they work fine. The built in microphone is excellent. All the other commenters that said how easy the driver is to install are all correct. Setup was a piece of cake (you do have to disable any security software prior to installation.) For me, the most pleasant surprise was all the little features like avatars etc. They are really fun! In sum, great pictures, great sound, easy install, great extras. I love it! I wish I had enough technical expertise to know how to set the webcam away from the computer, to use like a security cam. I'd appreciate any suggestions.
Update 3/10: I use this all the time on Skype with my kid at college. I got the latest upgraded SetPoint software but find it doesn't find the camera, I had to manually update the unit's software. My only other comment is on a review that I read that it isn't part of the monitor so you're presentation isn't face on, ergo rude. My monitor's top is as tall as me, since my monitor sits 4" off of my desktop and my keyboard is below in a tray, so I can sit without hunching over or looking down at a monitor all day. When my kid videos from the laptop, I'm looking up her nose half the time -- nothing wrong with a nice semi-profile. YOU can always look into the camera to make a point, it just takes practice. Since my wife sometimes joins me, the camera's ability to swivel on it's own to follow people is great. We bought two of these units. At first since my kid's old laptop didn't have a webcam we needed two, now my in-laws have one so they can video with the grand kids and us.
Original Review:
I got one of these recently and we're going to get another, it is fantastic. Great picture, you can adjust the rate to either 50 or 60 MHz and there are lots of different preset picture sizes. Very clear, sharp and the face tracking works well but not perfectly. (Animation and tracking are not active at the same time, btw.) The built-in mike is also very good and has background noise suppression. The stick extension is a fantastic idea for desktops and is a mini-USB cable encased in a hard plastic tube. It's sort of creepy when this `eyeball' moves on the end of its stick as it tracks you. The active light is noticeable. There is a manual control via software, too. The unit can be setup for snapping photos or short videos based on motion detection. Its RightLight tech works well when you are not lit correctly but isn't good enough or effective/enabled to run calibrations for the animations. It is not a camera for very low lighting situations.
The included Animations are very funny, they have three kinds, one is a full animation, but you have to be very expressive (that is animated :-0 ) to make the characters move from side to side, really open their mouths. Everything from dinosaurs, aliens, wizards, lots of animals or SIM type avatars are available. The second type is 'video add-ons' so if you want to add a goatee, pig's nose, a crown or an arrow through your own head, that type is available, here you DON'T want to move too much (but this might vary by your computer's processing powers). The third type is picture masks; want to be a talking Mona Lisa, a kitty, a pair of baby foxes? You can, your eyes and lips will be superimposed on the photo. Here, again, you can't move forward/back and side to side too much. Only a few of each kind are bundled with the software, but there are lots more on the Logitech website, each with processing requirements. Additionally there are some photoshop type filters too, mosaic, fisheye, slow motion blurring, neon edges (that one is very kewl), and various styles of cartooning you and your surrounding available.
Animations and some of the other filters require calibration. A window is displayed asking you to hold your head still in a superimposed box, don't smile and the computer determines where you eyes, mouth and nose are. You need to be well lit and hold still for it work well.
Of 3 computers we tested on, one needed an updated MS Script update installed to run the CD or the downloaded software (error 1720), and this was one of our newer computers, XP Media on a AMD-X2-64. The hardware/software is rated for a P4 2.4. One laptop is such a P4 and it installed without updates and works flawlessly, except for some animations which have higher processing requirements.
Software to communicate is an entirely different issue. I have not tried Skype yet, but did try AIM and Trillian. These two are not inter-compatible, using the latest AIM 6.5 and Trillian Pro (the only version that supports video); an error occurred each time. When AIM 6.5 was installed on both PCs, it did work together. Interesting to point out on AIM, that if set it to auto-accept video on from Buddies, then the display windows DOESN'T pop up, but the camera turns on. That must be an AIM issue, IMHO.
Your mileage with video software is going to vary based on the computer. The desktop AMD-X2-64 with XP Media, was able with integrated graphics to show both the outgoing and incoming video at the same time at the sizes recorded at. A laptop AMD-X2-64 with Vista Home Premium (Toshiba A215-S6804 - a budget laptop) with integrated graphics could not, and the incoming video was very dark. AIM had no controls to correct it only the volume and speaker volume.
All in all, I like this, the auto-focus, the tracking, the ability to make videos or snapshots suitable for blogging, etc. It's turning out to be popular, and the pricing has actually gone up from the mid $80's to an average $100. - Logitech Quickcam - Skype - Logitech - Logitech Webcam'

Oscillating Saw
Before I get into the actual product, a quick review of CPO Dremel. The refurb tool was in perfect condition - if it were not for the sticker on the handle that said it was a refurb, you'd think it was brand new. The blade, flexible scraper and sanding attachments were brand new and sealed in plastic. The major differences are that it comes in a plain brown box, and there's only a 1 year warranty instead of the 2 years you get with a new unit. Good way to save a few bucks -- when I ordered it the price was quite a bit lower than the new one. Prices change a lot, however, so be sure to compare before buying.
The Multi-Max is a very useful tool provided you understand its limitations. It's perfect for homeowner use, and is incredibly handy for jobs such as making a plunge cut into wood or drywall, undercutting trim when installing flooring, removing grout and peeling off caulk. Those are the tasks I've used it for and each time I've been very pleased with the ease of use and the final results. Makes me look like I'm a much better carpenter than I actually am!
I've had no problems whatsoever with the blade coming off like some have reported. There's a phone number listed in a FAQ on the Dremel site if you want to get a better washer assembly (they send it to you for free). So far I've not had the need for it - just make sure the washer is situated properly (there are stickers and notices all over the tool and instruction manual telling you how to position it) and tighten the holding bolt down firmly. Zero problems for me after hours of use. But, I'll probably call them to get the better washer system just in case it's needed down the road.
It is not a tool that can withstand the hard and heavy use that a professional contractor or carpenter dishes out. There's a reason that the Fein costs so much more - it's built to withstand much heavier duty than the Dremel. I doubt this would last more than a few months in the hands of a contractor who uses it every day. For the typical homeowner, however, it's a fantastic way to get 95% of the benefits of a Fein at a fraction of the price. More than sturdy enough for typical homeowner use around the house.
I went with this versus the Rockwell mainly since the Dremel blades are a lot easier to find. You can get them on Amazon or, if you need one immediately, you can find them at the big box stores.
Usage tip: don't force the tool - let it do the work. You'll get a much cleaner cut and you'll extend the life of the blade.
Update June 2011: I've had this for nearly 2 years and it's still going strong. Just used it the other day to cut out a damaged wood floor slat to replace it. Perfectly clean cut -- no way I could have done it without this. Going through oak flooring took some time even with the metal/wood blade, but it made it. Zero problems to date, and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. I'd still like to get a Fein since I love the way those work and feel, but this gets the job done for a whole lot less. It's not contractor grade-tough as a Fein, but really handy for homeowner-grade use. Factory-Reconditioned Dremel 6300-02L-RT 120-Volt Multi-Max Oscillating Kit
This is a nice tool that I have used numerous times in the two weeks I've owned it. I am a remodeling contractor so it got a good workout. Be careful how long and how hard you use it, it does heat up and that will kill any tool. The cutting blades wear out relatively easily and are expensive to replace, although I've found the most economical way to buy them is to google various deals on the internet. This tool is incredibly versatile and does things that no other tool in my extensive arsenal does. I'm very pleased I bought it.
I knew about oscillating multi-tools but so far hadn't needed one. I'm a bit leery about just buying tools on a whim because sometimes I've found that they really don't make things easier or save time.
This spring I had a small DIY project in my kitchen which included cleanly removing sections of existing base & crown moulding without marring the floor, walls or ceiling. I first wanted to see how long it would take me to do it with the tools I had and learned that it was quite tedious & difficult if I wanted to be neat and even with care, the adjacent moulding got a few chips/scratches/cracks and the drywall got gouged.
So I decided to order this reconditioned Dremel Multi-Max and work on a different part of the project in the meantime. I've had good luck with reconditioned tools so I figured it was worth the gamble. One thing that swayed me toward the Dremel over the other brands was that replacement blades could be easily had from the local big-box stores. It arrived on time (I'm cheap and went with the slowest shipping). Opening it up, I found a complete set. The blades were obviously new and the Multi-Max looked new too even though it must have been used at one time in order to have been reconditioned.
I spent a few minutes testing the Multi-Max on scrap and then tackled the moulding. "Whir whir whir" (change the angle of the blade)"whir whir whir pop" (cat's paw action) and the first piece was out. Not only was it insanely easy & quick but the results were a big improvement over my earlier attempts by hand: the cuts were sharp & clean and the adjacent moulding/walls/floor/ceiling were unmarred. I was able to remove all the other sections just as quickly.
I suspect this thing will be handy for a few upcoming projects (repairing sections of our old hardwood floor and the biggy: upgrading our garage interior). The Multi-max is great for fiddly work - that is making neat precise cuts in awkward places.
I bought this reconditioned Dremel 6300 Multi Max tool and I have to say it was a great decision. [...] shipped to my house. I bought the grout attachment and removed the grout in my bathroom floor. It's a smaller bathroom with about 30 sq feet of 12" tile. Took about 2 hours or a little more to remove the grout. Worked like new. Looked like new. I'm very happy with deciding to do this. I can't wait to try some of the other options it has.'
