2009 Amazon Frustration-fre - swim goggles, girls
My 3 year year old son LOVES being underwater ALL the time. But we have gone through dozens of goggles and every time there was a problem... they leaked, they hurt his face, they fogged up, they didn't fit right, they fell apart.
I am SO happy we stumbled on these. Perfect fit for little faces without that irritating nose bridge that pokes into small faces. The straps don't pull at his hair (though he has fairly short hair).
They truly do NOT fog up, you can create a nice tight seal and they don't hurt his face even if we're swimming for a long time. And they don't leak!
These are really well made and perfect for little ones who love to swim and be underwater all the time. We bought 3 pairs for our future SCUBA diver so we'll always have a spare!
We bought the clear and the green with tinted lens... the clear is nice for the indoor pool and the tinted lens is perfect for the beach and sunny days in the outdoor pool. Speedo Kids Hydrospex Swim Goggle (Pink/Clear)
I first read about these Hydrospecs goggles in a magazine and then I went on the Amazon site to read the reviews on this item. The previous reviewers gave it very good reviews and I thought I give it a try and purchase one for my 4 year-old. Now, almost a year later, I feel that I need to do my part to continue to spread the word about such a quality product. Keep in mind, that my daughter swims about 1-2 times a week, all year long. The previous reviewers were RIGHT ON! These goggles provide a nice comfortable seal around the eyes and the anti-fog coating is still doing its work after all this time. The adjustable strap is a nice feature too, my daughter can put these on and adjust them by herself. Don't waste your money like I did by buying a cheaper pair initially. Go for the Speedo Kids Hydrospecs!
The quality of this product is exceptional and my 3 and 4 year old LOVE these goggles. They are comfortable and fit great! The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because the 2nd pair I bought were an "electric blue/blue" pair and I expected the lens to be *tinted* blue... not a DARK navy blue. So they only work for really bright, sunny days in an outdoor pool. For indoor pools, playing in the bathtub, or even overcast days outside, they are just too dark.
We bought these for my four year old son. He loves to swim with goggles but doesn't like when the lenses "touch" his eyelashes. These fit the bill. Easy to adjust, stayed on and didn't fill with water.Plus we didn't have any eyelash problems.
These are great kid's goggles. Once you get the adjustment correct, they keep the kid's happy. I have a 3 and 8 year old and they both fit these goggles. I recommend writing your name on the goggles because lots of kids have them.
My daughter is 4 and has a small face. Her swimming has been limitted by her fear of putting her face in the water - she had other goggles that didn't work for her. Day 1 with these, she started swimming with her face in the water. After day 2, she was jumping in with great enthusiasm. She loves them and we are so happy with the progress in her swimming. I'm about to buy another pair for a birthday present!
Bought for my grandkids so when we met up with them at a hotel they could wear them when they went swimming and had a blast. Kept the water out of their eyes and they could dive down into the water to pick up the quarter I gave them to dive for. - Swim Goggles - Speedo - Swimming - Girls'

16gb Sdhc Memory Card - class 10, 32 gb
I purchased this for use with my new Canon T2i. I use it primarily for shooting full resolution 1080p video, although I shoot stills as well.
The camera choked on the class 4 chip that I originally purchased, but with this one, it is amazing. I can shoot rapidfire 18 megapixel stills (I've tested it up to 30+ shots in a row), and there is no lag. I've never had an error when shooting hi-def video.
Highly recommended! I'm buying another one. Transcend 32 GB Class 10 SDHC Flash Memory Card TS32GSDHC10E
I bought this card for my Canon T1i. The card I had been using before ordering this one was a Kingston Class 6 micro sd card and it worked well enough for the type of shooting I did. Class 6 was the card speed that Canon recommended when I bought my T1i (Class 10 cards were not yet available) and it seemed fast enough for the way I used my camera - isolated single photos taken at Medium (8 MP) or Large (15 MP) jpg settings and 1280 x 720 video. And while I ocassionally took continuous photos, I had never much exceeded 5-10 photos in a row and had never run into a problem with my Class 6 card.
When I first saw the Class 10 cards I did some experiments with my camera. How many continuous Large photos could I take before the camera slowed down? It turned out to be about 30. And how many RAW photos could I take before the camera slowed down? It turned out to be about 9. SInce I did not generally take any photos in RAW and never needed more than about 10 continuous photos at Large, the Class 6 card seemed more than sufficient for my needs. But I wondered about the speed of the Class 10 cards enough that I finally bought one.
It turns out that the Class 10 card is sufficiently fast that there does not seem to be a reasonable upper limit on single Large photos. I have taken 60 on continuous without an issue. And although I still cannot take more than 9 RAW photos on continuous with the Class 10 card, when I am finished taking those photos the camera no longer displays a Wait - writing pictures screen. The RAW photos get written from the built-in memory to the card so quickly that the camera does not need to display the Wait screen.
So this card is fast! Given the way I take photos this purchase was unnecessary, but still I am glad I bought it. I know I will not run into a situation where speed is an issue with this card.
OK. this card was around $47 for a class 10 16gb. The other card i bought was a Sandisk class 10 8gb for the around same price. I did a 10 sec stop watch test on both cards with my Rebel T1i on raw and the Sandisk was only faster by 1 shot in a 10 sec burst. to me it seems trivial to pay 47 bucks for a Sandisk 8gig when you can get 16 gigs for the same price. yes i know, the Sandisk is good for arctic and desert temperatures... but i live in western NY... not Antarctica or the Sahara. If your looking for a good card, with more gigs for your buck, the Transcend is well worth it.
I will be writing this review for both SanDisk Extreme SDHC class 10 8gb and Transcend SDHC class 10 16gb.
I bought SanDisk class 10 and Transcend class 10 for my new Panasonic LX5. I got both card because no one really did a comparison with a compact camera and I was just going crazy trying to see if there is any big difference between the 2 cards.
SanDisk Extreme package box indicated it's water proof, x-ray proof, shock proof, temperature proof. I am not ready to spend $50 to see if it really stand up to it's words. And I don't think normal people would go through the extreme condition in taking pictures or videos.
Cut the story short, I really want to see if there is any difference in writing performance between the 2 cards in a compact camera. There is a continuous burst mode in LX5 and the manual indicated it is only limited by the condition of picture environment and performance of the SD card. Within the mode there are 2 different settings:1) speed priority or 2) picture/quality priority. The shutter speed is much faster with speed priority compare to picture priority.
I first formatted both cards out of box then put each card in series of test(3 rounds each setting for each card) shooting at the same object under same lighting condition. The results:
Speed Priority:
SanDisk Class 10 8gb
22-33 shots before camera stopped to allow the card to catch up with writing.
Transcend Class 10 16gb
22-24 shots before camera stopped to allow the card to catch up with writing.
Picture priority
SanDisk Class 10 8gb
34-46 shots before camera stopped
Transcend Class 10 16gb
27-33 shots before camera stopped
It seems that at a higher shutter speed, both cards performed very similar under the same shooting condition. But at a slower shutter speed the SanDisk definitely out perform Transcend. I hope this little experiment satisfied anyone with curiosity like me. Transcend definitely is a bargain with 16gb and almost half of the price compare to SanDisk. But I am going to use SanDisk Extreme as my primary card and Transcend as backup or on a second camera to ensure i would not miss any shots.
The "C10" is for "minimum sustaining speed" of 10mbps. The sustaining speed is critical if you're using for HD camcorder. There is other brand card that is also c10 but it costs more (2x) for its print of 30mbps on the card. It leads consumers into thinking that the higher price is worth for the 30mbps. However, the 30mbps is the "burst" speed. Burst speed is critical for HD camera and for doing copies. I have a HD camcorder and I'm very satisfied with this card after many hours for recording. I bought this card to do 100% of recording so it is the right price. I would buy the other high price brand card of 30mbps if I will do a lot of picture taking. The bottom line is to buy for the purpose of your usage. - Memory Card - 32 Gb - Class 10 - Transcend'

Concrete
Pros: Applies easily and streak free, although quite messy with all of the water. Primarily matte/satin finish that glosses up nicely with Cheng Countertop wax.
Cons: Very very very poor stain resistance. Food acids (Vinegar, champagne, lemon juice) and Olive oil stain (acids/alcohol = white blotches/rings; oil = dark blotches/rings) even when cleaned up immediately. Cheng's method of repair (1000+ grit wet sand and spot seal) does not fully remove the dark or light spots. In fact, it just appears to polish the sealer, leaving it with a different, lighter finish than the rest of the counter. I am currently removing the Cheng sealer (sealer remover from concreteexchange.com) and refinishing the counters with ICT.
This product would like provide adequate protection outside of a kitchen, but I would not recommend anywhere you anticipate any liquid except water to contact the surface. Cheng Concrete Sealer 500 Ml'

Jillian Michaels - jillian michaels, fitness
This is your standard dumbbell: Easy to grip, although very large hands might find the grip length a bit snug (about 3.5 inches on the 12-lb dumbbell). The grip seems a bit thicker than a lot of other dumbbells, too, which make it comfortable to hold. Overall, this dumbbell is very compact, solid and the neoprene covering reduces slip. They're sold separately - a nice option but be sure to order two if you're looking for a pair. Neoprene Dumbbell - 2 lbs - Sold Individually
I bought this Dumbell long ago, and i liked it even till today. It only comes in one, so if you want two, you'll have to purchase it individually, and that's the reason why i only gave it 4 out of 5. But for the price, i think it's quite worth it. - Weights - Jillian Michaels - Fitness - Dumbells'

Ink Cartridge - fountain pens, lamy
Somehow, I find some humor in the fact that this pen is so well rated, yet most reviewers take care to point out that it isn't the prettiest, most overpriced, or fanciest pens around. Unlike many companies, Lamy makes pens and pencils. They don't use pretentious euphemisms for pens like those other companies, nor do they charge 10x-100x what the pens are worth. They do make awesome pens like the Safari, which are indestructible and feel good in the hand, and they make some incredibly smooth nibs.
The Safari does make an awesome starter fountain pen, but it's a starter pen that'll last you your entire life. I recommend a Fine or Medium nib if you're new to a fountain pens. You can even buy spare nibs for the Lamy so that you can swap between different sizes. Lamy Safari Fountain Pen - Charcoal - Fine
The Lamy Safari is not my favorite fountain pen. However, this is the only pen that I always have with me. Well, I actually have the clear version as well, so I always have one of those two with me. The quality of the nib is excellent and writes very well. It feels OK in your hand - not as nice as some of "finer" pens, but nice. It used to be that I kept my fountain pens at my desk and carried around a ball point pen clipped to my shirt. The reason was the price - I didn't want to risk losing a pen by leaving it somewhere. That changed when I discovered this pen. I still don't want to lose it, but at this price, I am willing to risk it. The payoff is having a very good fountain pen with me for whenever I need to write.
I recommend this pen for someone first fountain pen, or for a fountain pen lover who wants an excellent "every day" pen.
Bought a cheap Cross many years ago just to see if I liked fountain pens. Cheap it was, and my interest died. Desperate for stocking stuffer ideas, I put this on my wish list after reading the wopping two other reviews.
Writes very well, and seems well built and durable. As a fountain pen novice, I didn't realize the ink was not waterproof - d'oh! I need durable ink. Bought the converter (available on Amazon) and Noodlers Bullet Proof Black both direct from WorldLux site. Works great - ink's topsoil ran under the tap, but that's all. The writing remains and highly legible.
No instructions for any of the above, but all fairly idiot proof.
Bottom line: a quality introduction to fountain pens at a reasonable price.
The Safari is the entry-level "school" fountain pen in Lamy's product line, and it shares the attributes of most Lamy pens: they're functional, sturdy, and entirely unpretentious. Most low-end fountain pens from other manufacturers are either cheaper versions of their more expensive models, or intentionally tarted up to look like more expensive pens (Waterman's Phileas with its faux art deco styling and printed marbling pattern comes to mind.) The Safari, on the other hand, is a clean, simple, and unadorned original design.
The construction of the Safari is bulletproof. It's made of ABS plastic, the nib is a steel point that's very easy to swap out, and both the Lamy standard cartridge and the optional converter hold a ton of ink. The clip is a bent wire, like an oversized paper clip, and when you put a Safari in your pocket, it'll stay right where you placed it. The Lamy steel nib is somewhat of a standard among their pens--the same nib that's on the Safari can be found on their more expensive Studio, Accent, CP1, and half a dozen other models. It just pulls straight off the feed for cleaning or replacement, and you can swap it out in five seconds for a different size. (The standard Lamy nib is inexpensive and comes in many nib sizes, from extra-fine to broad, and they even make calligraphy versions in three different widths.)
For a starter pen, the Safari represents the best value on the market. The nibs are uniformly good, the pen is damn near impossible to kill (it was designed for rough-and-tumble school use), and it can be had in many different colors. With the optional converter, you can use the many bottled inks out there, which is half the fun of writing with a fountain pen. Many fountain pen aficionados have started with a Safari, and many who did still have theirs as part of their pen rotation, because they're so tough and useful.
A note on colors and textures: the Charcoal version of the Safari has a slightly rough finish, which some people prefer over the slicker plastic finish of all the other Safaris because it's less slippery. Also, the Safari's section (the part you have your fingers on) is indented into a triangular shape to steer your fingers into the proper orientation for fountain pen writing. Most users are fine with it, but some don't like the Safari's slightly unorthodox section.
For around $30, you get a first-rate fountain pen that will hold its own against pens of three or five times the Safari's price point. It's a very utilitarian design, without a bit of "bling" on it, but when it comes to entry-level fountain pens, I can't think of a better pick for the money.
I decided to switch to a fountain pen for ecological reasons (maybe that was just the excuse I needed to justify the expense). The last fountain pen I owned was a Mont Blanc I had treated myself to after graduating some 25 years ago. That pen was very scratchy and turned me off on fountain pens in general. I was hesitant about buying another fine point after the experience with the Mont Blanc, but the reviews were so good, I thought I'd give it a try. This pen is incredibly smooth. I ordered the pen (cool white color), converter refill and some Noodler's ink from Pencity.com. Their price was great, they had everything I needed and the customer service was wonderful!!!
I was so happy with this pen, I ordered the medium point because I often prefer a slightly bolder stroke. I think it is a great pen and the low price is just a bonus. This pen is perfect for my writing style. It's a little bolder than the fine point but not too bold. Writes even more smoothly than the fine point (didn't think that was possible).
A PLUS for the fine point - good pen to keep in a purse, because of the fine line it can write on any quality paper and still be readable. - Ink Cartridge - Lamy - Fountain Pens - Pen'

Beaded Jewelry Leather Jewelry - teen, boy
I bought this for myself because I love bracelets so much! And this one was really cute. However, after one week of wearing it, the leather was cut suddenly and with no reason and it cannot be fixed somehow. I am really disappointed with this purchase and I don't think I am going to buy a similar item again.
**Update**: The seller contacted me apologizing for the inconvenience and sent me a brand new bracelet! I was really amazed and thankful at the same time.. I only wish the first incident hadn't happened. Leaf Design Leather Zen Bracelet - Adjustable, Fits 5.5 to 8 Inches, for Men, Women, Teens, Boys and Girls
When I got this bracelet, it was in a silver box making it an ideal gift for a girl or boyfriend. So when I took it out, it was so tiny and I had NO idea whatsoever to make it wide to put around my wrist. So all you're supposed to do is yank the sides apart - trust me you're not gonna break it. I absolutely love the little leaf that comes in the center, it's very intricate. Another reviewer said some of the colors bleed when exposed to water which is making me paranoid about having anything watery with me. But other than that, I love it for the colorEdit: After 3 days, the little knot at the bottom where the two petals comes together broke apart after 3-4 days of daily use. Disappointed, because as I wear it daily it's going to keep unraveling till the knot is gone.
I love it as soon as I put it on. The color coordination of the beads and the leather is good. For many products I ordered on-line, they don't really look as good as the pictures you saw on line. This bracelet looks just as good as the picture.
These bracelets are really well made and durable, eye-catching, and quite frankly it's my new favorite accessory! I wear mine every day! (and I bought another so that I would have a backup!)
Also of note, the seller is a really neat, really friendly person, and I'm happy to have gotten the chance to support her by adding to the sales of her wonderful bracelets! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PRODUCT AND SELLER!!!
The item is beautifully designed but the blue and black cord bleed pretty badly if they are wet slightly. I mean just washing hands will do it. It got my clothes all blue and black... its too bad though, I really liked the design. - Boy - Beaded Bracelet - Girl - Teen'

Windshield Wiper - wiper blades, wipers
Installed these on my 2002 Impala. Very suprised at how well they are performing. I thought that the streaking and smears with the old blades were due to the windshield being old. These blades eliminated the streaks and smears. Rain-X Weatherbeater Wiper Blade - 22"
I bought weatherbeater wiper blades 22" and 26" for my Honda Civic Hybrid 2007 from amazon.com since amazon assured me that they fit my car. The web site indicated: "REMOVE END COVER ON BLADE TO INSTALL, CANNOT RE-USE COVER - 9 X 3 HOOK - 4 DR". I removed the end covers leaving only the wiper blades. It tried to install them using the Honda guidelines: I removed the old wiper blade by sliding them out from one side and tried to glide in the new wiper blades (along with their metal reinforcement blades). They simply don't fit. The base of the wheatherbeater wiper blade is far wider than the Honda's one. I could reinstalled the old original Honda wipers without any problem; they glide in easily. I could not do the same with the weatherbeater blades. I tried to glide them in using the original metal reinforcement strips first, then using the new ones, and using many different ways. They simply don't fit new Honda Civics.
My original wipers started to wear down, causing streaks that are at best annoying and at worst a dangerous hazard. I bought these new wiper blades to fix the problem, but streaks are still there. I do not recommend this product. I will try looking at the Bosch Ion wipers instead.
I purchased these blades at Target. Very difficult to get on my 1994 Civic. After 3 weeks in Wisconsin snow they were leaving streaks on my windows again. Today in the snow they iced up on my windshield. Had to pull to the side of the road to clean the blades. Back on the highway they were fine for a few minutes and the same thing happened again- streaks and ice. Nearly got killed because I could not see through my windshield. The defrost, windshield fluid etc didn't help...the blades were streaking everywhere and all I could see was the lights of the cars around me through the white streaked windshield. Truly thought I was going to die. Never again with these blades. - Wipers - Wiper Blades'

Great Deal - great deal, overclock
Paired this CPU with Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H. Was able to unlock all four cores to make it a Phenom II X4. OCed from stock 3.2GHz to 3.6GHz, rock solid. Didn't try to go any further but I know it has much more potentials. AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition Callisto 3.2 GHz 2x512 KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 80W Dual-Core Processor - Retail HDZ555WFGMBOX
This was a great purchase seeing how much you get from it. First of all, it's blazing fast at stock speeds. AND coming from my athlon II x2 240, it was a big improvement. Paired with my MSI 760g-e51 mobo, it let me unlock the two locked cores thus making it a phenom II x4. This is a great buy if your able to unlock the cores. THANKS AMD FOR MAKING A PROCESSOR WITH 2 UNLOCKED CORES!!!
Best in my opinion.
Didn't unlock cores, don't care to, works very fast. Most apps and games are single threaded so dual core is best real world usage. Benchmarks BAH!
Runs so efficient that I didn't need the fan on my Coolermaster Hyper 212 rifle cooler, and it gets as hot as 32 degrees. Keep in mind that is in a case with 120mm back and 140mm top, so good air flow.
I love EFFICIENT!
The AMD Phenom II X2 Socket AM3 is a rock-solid processor, even without unlocking the extra cores. If you manage to unlock the extra cores, you will have a processor that runs faster than stock Phenom II X4 processors. To be exact, this processor, running with all 4 cores, runs at 3.68GHz, without any overclocking. Nice!
Unlocking the cores, I've read, is somewhat of a hit and miss deal. First, you might need to upgrade your motherboard, or use someone else's that has core unlocking capabilities to unlock them. Second, the locked cores are NOT tested by AMD, so don't be too surprised if you find yourself unable to unlock one or both extra cores.
If you don't like to take chances, or if the processor you have now is better than this one with 2 cores, this is not the processor for you. If you have an old (3+ years old is practically prehistoric in the world of tech), slow, single or dual core processor, this one will knock it's socks off even with only 2 cores. I upgraded from an Athlon II X2 4600+ 2.4GHz Dual Core, and the difference was noticable the first time I powered up my machine again. Of course, I upgraded my Motherboard and RAM at the same time, so that made a difference as well, I'm sure.
As for the temperatures of this Processor, I can not say, as none of my utility programs can detect the temp. of this processor, for whatever reason.
If you don't know what Socket AM3 means, it's basically the pin configuration of the processor. They change it up, so you cannot insert a processor into incompatible motherboards. AM3 is very similar to Socket AM2, and AM3 CPUs can run on a motherboard listed for AM2 & AM2+ (but not the other way around). I do not know if using AM3 on an AM2 Motherboard reduces performance, but I have not read anything to suggest it.
WINDOWS EXPERIENCE INDEX:
7.4/7.9 with all 4 cores in use.
The following is technical data as seen from the AMD Overdrive utility.
NAME: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 B55 Processor

L2 Data Cache: 64 KB X 4

Not much else I can think of to say, so I'll sum it up:
Consider this CPU if you need an upgrade AND this cpu, out of the box, is better than your current one.
The 2 hidden cores may be about 60/40 as to whether you'll unlock them, in favor of success, but I could be wrong about this.
The price, for what you get, is fair. The price, for what you'll PROBABLY get, is AWESOME!
AMD Phenom II X4 B55 3.7GHz FTW.
This is an amazing quad-core processor for an amazing price. Yes, quad-core. There are actually two cores turned off on this cpu. Although it's not guaranteed to work many motherboards have a quick setting to allow you to unlock the hidden cores. I was lucky enough to get a perfectly functional second set that passed stress testing flawlessly. Not bad for half the price they're asking for the advertised quad-core. My motherboard was a Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 and it was a one click bios setting, though there are plenty other boards that allow it. Search online for "unlock phenom x2" and do a little research. Good luck.
I've had this processor since March of this year and i have to say that this chip is awesome. Bought this with the intention to overclock but the stock speed is more than enough at the moment. Runs all my applications very smoothly as well as my games (most games are optimized for dual core CPU's so most people don't need a quad core yet). If you are purchasing to try and unlock the extra cores please understand that AMD does not guaranty that you will succeed (to the one star temper tantrum below). This is an amazing processor for someone on a budget, hope this review helps!
-Update-
Finally gave overclocking a shot and got it to 3.675 without touching the voltage! temps are at 34-38 (idle-load) on air cooling. haven't tried going further but I'm sure I can get it to 3.8 (judging by the temperatures). BUY IT!!
what can you say, low price, dual core goodness. I tried the core unlocker but got no love, however, the chip has performed well and I would recommend this for an upgrade from an Athlon or a single core system. Obviously, it's not the fastest chip on the block, but is great for the sub-$100 price tag!
After reading the reviews on this item here in the great Amazon, I bought the item. I've always wanted a Black Edition processor but was not willing to pay a high price. This item is posted as a two core processor and with the right motherboard and luck, one can unlock the extra two cores making it a four core. I'm using this processor with the Gigabyte ma785gm-us2h motherboard and an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro rev.2 cpu cooler. After messing around with the BIOS I'm running at 3.9 GHz without any problems. It was no real problem opening the extra two cores with the motherboard I am using. All cores appear to be working good. - Am3 - Phenom - Overclock - Great Deal'

Swim Goggles
My son is entering in swimming class and is going into the swimming team. I was looking for good quality goggles but at the local sporting good store all I found was was cheap to mediocre quality. I was looking for similar goggles to mine. Here, I found the same but for jr and at a great price. My son is extreemly happy. The goggles dont leak, don't fog, very confortable and look great. Speedo Junior Vanquisher Plus Mirrored Swim Goggle (Blue/Smoke)
Purchased these for my 11 yr old daughter. She was wearing women's vanquisher but after a while they would leek, probably due to size. She seems to like these better, says they are comfortable and wears them 6 days a week for practice along with a couple weekend meets. She has been wearing them for about 1 month and said they are starting to fog up on her after several laps, could just be an education issue on not rinsing them in the pool to prolong the coating.
My son says that water leaks into these goggles, he does not use them. I got my daughter the Speedo Junior Hydrospex Swim Goggle and they both want to use those all the time. so basically the same price I would reccomend them instead of these
I have bought many goggles for the past couple of years to try to find something that REALLY kept the water out of my little granddaughter's eyes while she did swim lessons. And, finally, have found a pair that does what they are supposed to do......and keeps the chlorinated water out of her eyes. My 8-year old granddaughter is so happy and comfortable in these goggles. I am about to order another pair to keep at my house as a spare to use at my pool. Have also bought a pair of the same type goggles for the next age group for another granddaugher.
good looking goggles, but the instructions say to simply "snap" the correct size nose piece in place. I found it far more challenging than a "snap" would suggest. It was a struggle and I was never sure I did have the new piece on tight.
Got these swim goggles just in time for the holidays! My nephew, who is 7, tried the goggles on and it fit just fine. We had to replace the nose piece already inserted on the goggles for a smaller size and more appropriate for his face, as there were three different sizes to chose from, S, M and L. Overall, the goggles look sleek and cool.
These are the best goggles that we ever had for the kids (who are all on a swim team - so we wear these goggles quite often). Three of my children are wearing them. They all are happy. The adjustable nose piece let's you adjust the fit, they are cushioned well, and there are no leaks. Great product for a great price!'

Dark Matter - aliens, ethics
I really enjoyed reading this book!
There are interesting characters, the plot makes sense, and there's lots of action. I'm a college-educated guy, so poorly researched writing, fiction or otherwise, doesn't fly well with me. The author did a good job of fact-finding, and raises some interesting ideas about the universe and who/what's in it. It has some pretty far-out stuff in it, but there's enough science and reality in it to allow the reader to suspend disbelief long enough to thoroughly enjoy the book! Dark Matter
I just finished reading "Dark Matter" last night and I loved every minute of it. I went into the book expecting a "small" story trying to tackle the mystery of dark matter and was blown away by a mind boggling epic. This is one of those rare books that comes along from an author who is somehow able to think completely out of the box and delivers great story on every page. I highly suggest this to anyone who is even remotely interested in science fiction or anyone out there interested in science who has yet to try out a science fiction story. I guarantee you won't be disappointed!
Dark Matter is partly the story of a young man named Marc as he goes from a graduate student at MIT, working on time travel, to the savior of an alien species. It is also partly the story of Dumyan, an Alien called an Altaran that goes on a journey to save his father's honor and restore him to a position of leadership among his people.
It is an interesting science fiction story that leaves virtually no cliché-rock unturned. The author often blatantly decries the clichés surrounding aliens in the science fiction genre when he says, "He had considered it a waste of time to read science fiction stories or watch movies about creatures from outer space with drooling, insect-like faces and slimy tentacles," But then he embraces them himself by having female aliens with human female characteristics and vice versa for males.
The book is a novella that struggles to find a niche at times as if it is meant to be for educated and curious adults, with long-winded descriptions of the science involved in black holes, time travel, and dark matter, but at other times, the writing style and simplistic imagery seems more suited for young adults.
The book is, by all accounts, self-published, but is listed as being published by Bane Science Fiction. The publisher has no web page, only an e-mail. The book has become widely popular on the websites that sell it, such as Amazon, where I purchased it. However, its humble roots are all too apparent at times. The author does a great deal of telling us what is unfolding, and almost never shows us. On the second page alone, the narrator gives us a long description of Marc, several parts make me laugh out loud. One line reads, "His head was filled with short, spiky dark brown hair." So where his brains should be, there was spiky brown hair?
The book takes pride in a unique and detailed story that actually skirts the border of fantasy as it barrels through space. Magic is suddenly thrown into the mix abruptly. Dark Matter seems to be an attempt to overshoot the clichés that litter the science fiction genre, but ultimately finds itself comfortably fitting between the others. Not that the storyline isn't unique, it is engaging and fresh, but the devices used in this story can be seen in many others. It's a recommended read for anybody that enjoys alien science fiction and the science behind our universe.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! A young scientist, miserable in his personal life, somehow finds a way to make worm hole traffic possible and eventually encounters a race of alien beings who are in a war with another race of beings. As preposterous as this sounds the author not only makes it work, but makes it very believable and keeps your attention. The way he handles his main characters interactions with numerous alien species is brilliant and kept my attention throughout. The only thing i find i am disappointed with is that the author doesn't seem to have any other books, I would love to read something else by him!
It appears that a few people are motivated by prejudice or jealousy, and are writing ridiculous reviews that have no factual or literary basis. I enjoyed this science fiction immensely. I have recommended it to a number of friends. Everyone who read it thought it was well-written.
By the way, anyone can report inappropriate and hostile reviews to Amazon by clicking the link "Report this" at the end of each review. When Amazon receives a number of complaints, the offending review will be removed.
I have never before written a review of a book before I finish reading it. I recieved the sample on kindle and the ordered the full book. I do not understand the violent reaction of some of the critics. The book is well written and contains a good deal of humor. The main character is complex and the people he associates with are real. His reactions are real. I have no idea how the various aliens turn out, but I will stick to with the book to find out.
I do not understand the intensity of the critics who pan this book. They have an attitude more typical of people who see a religious or political disagreement.
Something esle seems to be going on, maybe something as petty as a reaction to the author's name, maybe some deep flaw in the critics' psyches.
Perspective readers should not be put off. Ignore these idiots. The novel is well and imaginatively written and (so for) has been a good read.
I just finished reading "Dark Matter" and found it to be very engrossing.
I found it hard to put down, and after putting it down couldn't wait to start reading it again.
I think if I could have stayed awake to read it through at one sitting, I would have.
I can see myself re-reading this book many times.
There are some very original ideas in this book that I haven't seen in other Science Fiction novels.
One in particular, the silupsal filter, really intrigues me.
I won't ruin the surprise of what it is, but it brought back the same feeling of, my God what if that really exists, that I got when I saw the "pods" in the first Matrix movie.
I found myself thinking many times, what if we are all just laying in a tank, our lives nothing but an illusion?
I had the similar reaction of, wow, what if the silupsal filter actually existed?
Character development is also very well done. I found myself really concerned with what was happening, and what was going to happen, to all the main characters. And that doesn't happen in a lot of books I've read.
In short I would recommend this book to any Science Fiction fan. - Ethics - Aliens - Fantasy - Adventure'

Bathroom Faucet
This is a wow-how-beautiful drain. Of course that sounds ridiculous - how can a drain be beautiful? Well, buy this and you will see. I opened the box and thought I'd made a mistake. I couldn't figure out how this worked. But playing around for a minute, I found that it is just a beautiful design. Push down, and the drain is closed. Push down again, and it pops open. I didn't install it - we used a plumber, because I had quite a few faucets going in, but even his grumpy self had to admit that this was a fine product. I highly recommend and am entirely pleased with everything I bought from this company. Bathroom Faucet Vessel Vanity Sink Pop Up Drain Stopper With Overflow Brushed Nickel'

Kindle Accessory - document holder, stand
I love this product, it really works well for my huge law books, it's also good for the smaller but thick books. The legs adjust well for page flipping. If you're the end or beginning of the book, where you have a lot of pages on one side and very few on the other, (in a 700 page book this is a big weight issue), it still gets the job done.
HOWEVER,
I also ordered the easi-reader bookstand, about $1 more (doesn't ship to Canada so I had to order it from Independent living aids so shipping was expensive). I'd have to say that the Easi-reader, although it has a more simple look, it more solid than the mighty-bright. Mighty bright metal pieces are held together with plastic while the Easi-reader is held together with metal and its over structure (hard to tell from the Amazon picture) is more solid. My books don't move around whatsoever on the latter.
Another downside, for both products, they are not good for small paperbacks. But for students with large books, cookbooks, papers, pictures they work really well. Mighty Bright Fold-n-Stow Book Holder
I bought this book holder after reading good reviews, but it is really not so good. Mighty Bright writes in the product description 'Variable slope Adjustments (it really adjusts)', but the fact is that it does not. It has one fixed slope. I sent a email to Mighty Bright, who is the seller and probably the manufacturer of this product to explain me how I can adjust the slope, if it really does, as he says. It has been several weeks by now, but I have not received any response. Another drawback is that the wires are soft and pliable and tend to bend with the weight of a hardcover high school textbook. It seems that soon it is going to be out of shape. Yes, one good thing is that it does fold, so it is easily portable.
This is a very versatile book stand that is easy to carry around and easy to store. It is ideal for smaller books and for those readers who don't need variety of reading angles. However, it can accommodate larger books as long as you are a bit careful how you use it. In addition to books, it works really well with a variety of electronic book readers and the new generation of tablet computers. I've used it with my Kindle Wireless Reading Device (6" Display, Global Wireless, Latest Generation) and iPad. In fact, when I was looking for an inexpensive way of propping up my iPad so that it doesn't lay flat on the table I settled for this option and so far it is working perfectly for me. In fact, I am writing this review on iPad that is propped up with it.
The only problem that I have with it is the manufacturing quality. The first holder that I bought broke after a few months of use. I still went ahead and bought a new one because I feel that its many advantages far outweigh this shortcoming, and hopefully if I am a bit more careful with how I store it and handle it it may last longer this time around.
I tried out a lot of bookholders before getting to this one and this is, by far, the best bookholder I've ever used. It's easy to move around and folds flat, so can be taken with you wherever you go. It holds both paperback and hardcover perfectly.
I'm a law student and need my book proped up so I can read and type at the same time. This was a life-saver! Held my paperback Black's Law Dictionary, as well as all the casebooks and hornbooks. And these are books of well over 1000 pages.
If you're looking for a bookholder, get this one!
This was EXACTLY the type of book stand i was looking for. When i first opened it up i thought it was very small and flimsy, but i was wrong. First of all the small size allows for maximum portability and it really isnt that flimsy. I tested the stand with a 1000 page anatomy physiology hardcover textbook and left it on the stand for 4 hours. The stand is PERFECT for hardcover textbooks (high school or college level). So pleased with the product im going to buy another one. : )
Supports most of my books well, even the huge science textbooks. Makes reading a lot easier. For those who have complained about its inability to support large books, u need to adjust it well for best fit. One con is that it is difficult to flip pages on a 1000page book. Highly recommended.
I purchased this bookholder on the recommendation of the other law student who wrote a review. I'm glad I did! This bookholder is perfect for holding big, bulky, thick lawbooks. It swings opens to fit any size textbook. I was initially concerned that it didn't have the movable "flipper" arms that other bookholders use to keep the book open to the appropriate page, however, I discovered that this excellent bookholder doesn't need them. The design itself with it's "hooked" arms keeps the pages open. In fact not having the "flipper" arms is better. I set my book open in class and hold the pages back on each side of a section of material that the professor is discussing. That way I am able to quickly flip between pages during the lecture as the professor discusses specific text. The bookholder is lightweight and packaged in a great plastic holder that is "hole punched" to fit into my notebook. Finally, it is affordable. I looked and tested many other bookholders before taking a leap on this one. I'm glad I choose wisely. - Stand - Document Holder - Bookstand - Large Book Holder'
