Sterling Silver - hearts, purity
I love this ring! It is very hard for me to find rings since I'm a size 4, and when I saw this in my size and for that price I decided to buy it. I wanted something to wear in place of my class ring in the summer and just an everyday ring. It is very pretty, doesn't give me any allergic reactions, and fits perfectly! It stays perfect even though I wear it to wash my hands, use hand sanitizer, and play tennis with it on. I'm 16 and I love it and plan on continuing to wear it for a while, and I know teen girls would love this as a gift! Sterling Silver 5mm Cute Tiny Hearts Band Ring Size 4
I've been looking for a nice fitting thumb ring FOREVER! I'm allergic to nickle and most everything that I can wear is so expensive. This ring is sterling silver shipped fast in an adorable little box and fits wonderfully! I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this ring
Width of the ring was a little narrower than what I was expecting. Also, the sizing is not true to size. Overall a cute ring for long, danity fingers. I wear it on my rt ring finger. Price is good but I'll be looking for something wider in the same style. Would be nice to find this in gold.
I was very pleased with the ring. Since I got it, I have not taken it off. I get lots of compliments on it. The picture is exactly how the ring is when you get it. I would definitely purchase from GEM again because they were quick and so true to their description. I actually have a matching toe ring. The quality is great and I am looking forward to getting more items from them in the future. Christmas isn't that far away!!!
my husband got this ring for me as an early birthday present, and it's just so cute!! the hearts are small and just cute, that's the perfect word for this ring, is cute. very shiny and feels sturdy too, not soft or easily bent- certainly doesn't feel cheap. Great deal for the price, very very satisfied with this ring :-)
UPDATE: I've had this ring for several months now, and I still love it. It's just as pretty as it was when I got it. I've worn it every day, I rarely take it off, and it's still shiny and pretty. I highly recommend this ring- very sturdy and tough enough for every day wear, but pretty enough to give your hand a dainty look :) - Jewelry - Ring - Purity - Hearts'

I was pleased to find these Ridgid planer blades as Home Depot has not had them for years. At least the Home Depot's I tried did not have them. A planer with dull blades is almost worse than no planer at all, so the new blades are a blessing. The blades are Just like the ones I bought in the past not repo's. Thank's for a needed item and at very good price. Ridgid AC8630 13-Inch Planer Blades'

Star-crossed Lovers - colin farrell, history
I figure if one is reading this they already know the film and are questioning whether to buy this upgraded version or not - I would have to say a resounding yes.
Knowing how he filmed this and with what equipment I had very high expectations on clarity. I tested this thoroughly by pause checking over 50 different scenes and light levels (dark, dim, bright, motion, fine detail, etc.) and I could not find fault in anything; The running water scenes, moving pans through trees - all of it. The colors, contrasts and light level all came across beautifully. The smaller LCD panels looked wonderful, but I even scrutinized on the larger Plasmas and it still looked awesome. The sound has the TrueHD and English 5.1, and the mix maintains being able to crank up the volume above normal listening levels as to immerse in the sounds/music but still hear the dialogue adequately.
This is the 172 minute version with the 10 part documentary series from the other releases included. I am very happy with this preservation so I hope that those who enjoy his work will appreciate this package. The New World
I watched this movie on DVD, and that probably made a difference in my experience. With that said, I found this movie very poetic and beautiful, but rather slow moving and in need of editing.
On the plus side, I admire Colin Farrell, who always offers a powerful performance, and newcomer Q'orianka Kilcher was marvelous and has enormous potential for future roles.
On the other hand, while I appreciated the lengths that the cast and production crew went to present an authentic Native American tribe, the director's "noble savages" perspective quickly grew weary, a problem that was compounded by the length of the film.
Probably not the film for everyone, but if you have time and appreciate aesthetics in films, I would recommend watching this movie.
The tale of the English settlers at Jamestown gets a wonderful retelling here revealing the hunger, struggle, disease, hardship, cold, and superstition that the early settlers encountered in the new world. I actually think this film does a wonderful job of revealing the wonderful paradise that was the new world before the arrival of the Europeans. The native people here are shown as primitive aboriginals, complete with tatoos, rituals, a power hierarchy and complex societies. The views of Virginia are stunning in their beauty, what a wonderful sight Virginia must have been to these early European arrivals, and how dreadful their lives could become as they learned how to survive in a world full of plants, insects, and animals they had never encountered before. The film gets 4 stars for giving us a glimpse of what the encounters between the old and new world must have been like for all parties involved.
The love story between John Smith and Pocahontas is dream-like, a world not unlike Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Yet the story is one of JOhn Smith's betrayal of Pocahontas and the incredible price she pays for her loyalty to him. Yet the film is also one of her recovery from this obsessive love so that she is free to accept the love of her husband, John Rolfe. Colin Farrell does a great job of playing the brash, brave, adventurer John Smith. Smith sees the time he and Pocahontas were in love in her father's village as a dream that he must leave behind. She on the other hand saw it as a reality that she wished to pursue to the end.
Thus in some ways the film is also about obsessive first love and the strong mature love that holds relationships together for decades. Christian Bale plays Rolfe, a tobacco farmer, who loves and marries Pocahontas, and fears losing her to Smith, but is finally rewarded in the end when she realizes that Smith was an obsession that is now passing and she must cling to the true love of her life, her partner, Rolfe.
I found the Wagner music grand, sweeping, and perfect for the grandeur that is found in North America. This is a tale told with images rather than words. It is well done and not typical.
I remember about a year ago when I saw the previews to this movie while at the local cinema. "Oooooo," I thought, "I can't wait for this to come out!" Well, I waited and waited and waited and still nothing ever came out. To my surprise, I discovered earlier this spring that it had already had its run at the box office and apparently none of the cinemas here in Memphis, TN. desired to carry it. So . . . I waited for the DVD to come out and rushed out to Circuit City to grab it on the morning of its release. I was full of anticipation all the way home about how good this "historical" movie was going to be. Would it be like "Braveheart," or "The Patriot," or maybe "Troy," or even "King Arthur" or "Alexander"? So I settled down and waited for the intense action and suspense to unfold. And I waited and I waited and I waited!
If you, like me, are under the impression that this movie is an "epic" telling or re-telling of history, or if you desire the intensity of action then you had better look elsewhere. For all of these reasons I was totally disappointed. Yet, you might ask why I would give it a 5 star review. Hmmmmm, well let's see. This movie is great for one, even if it is completely NOT what I expected.
At the center of this movie is a love story. In fact, it's more of a love story that just so happens to be set in 17th-century Virginia rather than a movie based on the founding of Jamestown that just so happens to include a love story. Does this make any sense? I've read a few other reviews that call this movie "poetic" and I can't agree more, although I've never really thought of a motion picture as being "poetic." If we want to run with the poetry analogy then I'll say that this is more of a "Tintern Abbey" than a "Rime of the Ancient Mariner." It's a "Dover Beach" as opposed to a "Dulce et Decorum Est." In other words, it's subtle, reflective, surreal, and even pensive. Sure there are a few short battle sequences, but it is centered more around the spoken thoughts of Pochahantas/Rebecca, John Smith, and John Rolfe. It's sort of a dramatic monologue if we wish to keep the poetry analogy alive.
While Christian Bale and Colin Farrell occasionally give convincing portrayals of brave, adventurous explorers, it is not really this aspect of their character that is highlighted. Instead, we delve into the innermost confines of each character's soul as this movie unfolds. We see firsthand the inevitable UNcompatibility of European and Native cultures and how diificult it truly must have been for the earliest settlers of this country. Indeed, the movie places quite a bit of emphasis on the harsh conditions faced by these first settlers and actually exposes the pitiable circumstances that rendered them virtually helpless. One may stop and wonder if we could do the same thing today. Who for the love of God would leave England with it's bountiful fields, lush gardens, paved streets, and brick houses with glass windows for the rustic "stick and mud" abodes of the New World? The contrast between the two worlds is certainly striking from the European perspective.
I had high hopes of showing this movie to my high school class, and I suspected it would be worthwhile for a U.S. history class or an English class that focuses on American literature. I suspect, however, that most adolescent minds will be bored to tears with this one. While I can't wholeheartedly recommend that you go and buy it today, I will insist upon at least a trip to Blockbuster for a weekend rental.
Again (and pardon me for sounding arrogant), this is a "thinking person's" movie. If you want action and adventure, then buy "The Patriot" or "The Last of the Mohicans." - Christian Bale - History - Historical Romance - Colin Farrell'

Mailing Labels - clicknship, mailing labels
It works good on boxes and bubble mailers that don't have any writing or printing on them. If you need to completely hide what is beneath the label, I recommend the Avery 5126 Labels with TrueBlock. I believe the smearing problem one person complained about is a Pixma printer problem rather than a label problem. My father used to have a Pixma printer too and it wouldn't print on smaller labels either without smearing the print. 200 Half Sheet Shipping Labels for Laser/InkJet for eBay, PayPal, USPS Click-n-Ship, UPS: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (Same size as Avery® 5126) [ONLY HouseLabels.com sells this product which will NOT curl and NOT jam. Competitors saying they sell our brand DO NOT!!]
I ordered these in hopes that I could use these instead of the more expensive (and higher quality) Avery 5126 labels. I received them and I tried to print, the printer could not feed them. I try using 12 sheets no good, tried 1 and it almost loaded, tried 2 and it works, but who wants to manual feed a single sheet every time when you have 20 or 30 labels to print? I was really hoping they would work since there were so cheap. But I guess that says it all. I tried many paper settings for my printer trying to get it to load from transparency to photo glossy and so on, but no go. If the seller wants to explain how to get them to work, I will edit this review.
First of all, these are DigiOrange labels, which can be found all over Amazon. With Amazon Prime shipping, however, these were still the best price.
Second, if strong chemical odors make you sick, it's worth spoiling yourself with the Avery labels. These smell like a combination of a tire factory and an oil refinery.
Third, these labels curl *big time*. I live in an arid, air-conditioned climate, and these labels are nearly curling onto themselves. If you live in a humid climate, these might make pretty good funnels. After airing them out thoroughly, it would be wise to keep a heavy book on top of them.
In their favor, these labels glide through my Canon MX420 and my bf's HP C8180 effortlessly, and because I'm such a cheapskate, I find them tolerable. I'll reserve my leftover Avery labels for when I need to block underlying markings.
I read a great many reviews before buying shipping labels a few months ago. The only pattern I could find was that people were very disappointed with some labels, but not others. How can that be if it's the same product? I decided maybe because it was NOT the same product. I have ordered from HOUSE LABELS twice now, and will continue to do so as long as I need these types of labels, or any other they carry. They are a fraction of the cost of Avery labels. They stick very well to anything, even 100% recycled cardboard. I've tested them, including leaving them on for a few days, no curling at all. I have a VERY finicky printer and these labels have NEVER jammed in my printer. Avery labels jam, at best, once every 4 or 5 sheets. I absolutely recommend house labels. I have only written a review for anything once before, and I'm certainly not a plant by the company, I'm just an itsy bitsy tiny bookseller who needs the best possible value and performance wherever he can get it. Be sure your order is being fulfilled by "house labels" and you will receive, (via priority mail, by the way) an excellent product at an excellent price. If I could ask for anything at all more from the company, I would say score the back side diagonally so custom cuts can be peeled off more easily, but that's a problem I can live with if I have to. Highly recommended. 5 stars. A+. Whatever grading system you want to use, if you like saving money and getting something just as good for a reasonable price, try these labels out.
I was rather excited to try these labels out for the price. Sadly, I bought 200 sheets. I have a Canon Pixma MP460 that I use to print off my shipping labels on Amazon and through PayPal. The labels come out smeared or spotty. I would not recommend this product. In the past, I used the 3M 3200-V shipping labels and those worked MUCH better.
-Difficult to tell which side is the printing side and which is the back as they look and feel exactly the same
-Difficult to peel the label off as its completely flush with the backing on all sides
-It curls like crazy and once it sticks to itself, you can't "unstick" it, so the label is ruined.
After ruining about 5 sheets I finally got the "trick" down to apply it. Any time a product requires a "trick" to use, it's a BAD product!
Super fast shipping, better than what was expected and honestly for the price they are unbeatable. Already mailed out numerous packages and no issues at all. They went through the printer A-OK, even half a sheet and stuck to package perfectly. Not sure what else you could want from a label. Much better value than the avery labels which I spent a small fortune on. For the price this is an incredible value!
I was buying labels from Quality Shipping Supplies for the past 2 years. They changed something- probably their contract with a manufacturer, and the last batch I had were terrible. I actually got my money back from Amazon, the labels would peel off by themselves, and they wanted to curl up into narrow tubes.
So I was on the hunt for a better quality label without spending a fortune on Avery. Well, I tried a small order of the Houselabels (400 labels). I have been using these for the past month and they are fantastic. They are thicker, the glue is very, very good (be careful you are lined up when applying, no second chances!) and they have "Houselabels" printed on the back of each sheet so no more guessing which side to print on! Plus they do not curl up in my Canon S900 inkjet.
I am sure you can read in the title of this page that the listing is for HouseLabels own brand of labels, and they don't sell them through other retailers. Currently valuemailers is shown as having the lowest price, which is patently false (I buy shippers from valuemailers, but their shipping labels are junk). I don't understand why Amazon allows other sellers to co-list this item when they are not selling it. So be careful if you are trying to buy this item, you want HOUSELABELS to ship your labels to you. - Mailing Labels - Ink Jet Labels - Avery - Clicknship'

Docking Stations - sounddock, ipod dock
After reading MANY reviews, both here on Amazon and on many other sites on the Internet, I have observed that most people either love Bose and everything they make or they seem to hate everything that is Bose. Well I can honestly say that I do not fit into either of these categories. I do own some Bose products and I enjoy them very much. However, Bose items are extremely expensive and I will not pay out that kind of hard earned cash for a product just because of the name. I have learned, when it comes to Bose I ALWAYS insist on listening to the device first before buying it. I have heard some excellent sound from some Bose speakers but some of their speakers are only mediocre. Their headphones are a mixed bag as well. I never purchase a Bose product unseen or unheard. My decision to purchase this second generation Bose SoundDock Portable Digital Music System was no exception.
I was on the fence about this purchase for several weeks. I had researched the first generation Bose SoundDock digital music system for iPod for quite some time. I found a couple of shortcomings that prevented me from buying that unit. First, it did not have a battery for portable use, so you always had to have it plugged in. Secondly it did not have an aux input, so it would only work with Apple iPod devices. What if I wanted to plug in my daughter's Sandisk MP3 player, or my son's Creative MP3 player? The second generation Bose SoundDock does not have these limitations. They have included a battery system, for hours of portable music without being tethered to A/C mains. They also include an aux input, so you can plug in any device's audio output with a stereo mini plug. They also added a slick swivel dock, which swings back into the speaker system when not in use. As far as the sound quality goes, both first and second generation systems seem to sound just as good; solid bottom end, crisp top end, and mild yet adequate midrange.
I was tempted to order this item from Amazon, as their prices, shipping, and customer service are always top notch. However, I was still a little unsure as to whether or not I would be completely satisfied with this product in my home. After all, it is $400.00! I decided to purchase it from a local electronics store, which offers a 30 day return policy, in case I decided that it was not worth the price after listening to it in my home. Well I am pleased to report that this Bose SoundDock sounds simply amazing. I don't know how they get such BIG sound from such a little device, but Bose has definately done a wonderful thing with this SoundDock. The sound is deep but not too boomy. The stereo soundfield is a little narrow but that is to be expected from any portable sound dock, as the speakers are so close together. Still, Bose is known for their ability to use angled speaker technology to offer a wide stereo sound. I guess they just didn't feel that this aspect was important enough for their SoundDock product. That is a shame. I must also note that the sound produced from this device seems different when listening from different angles. If I sit the device on a table and sit down right in front of it, the high end is crisp and bright but the lower end is a little on the weak side. However, if I back up a few feet the bottom end really jumps out, and yet you lose a little bit of the crispness of the highs. Overall the SoundDock sounds great and it really fills a small and medium sized room with full bodied sound. You can crank this puppy way up without any audible sounds of distortion. Very impressive indeed. I have listened to Pop, Rock, Country, Dance, House, and even classical music on the Bose SoundDock, and all sounded equally impressive. Bass notes are very tight, not boomy or sloppy like I have experienced on several other iPod music systems. My only complaint is that the midrange seemed a bit weak on a few tracks, but seemed just fine on others. This may have to do with the equalization of my iPod Touch, but I don't notice these differences when listening through headphones.
Overall I am very pleased with my Bose SoundDock Portable Music System. It produces rich, room filling sound, offers perfect portability (thanks to the inclussion of a Lithium Ion Battery Pack), and has an auxiliary input for all of my family's digital music devices. Sure, $400.00 is a lot of money to spend on a portable iPod music docking system, but now that I have experienced the solid build and beautiful sound quality of the Bose SoundDock, buying anything less would always leave me wanting the Bose SoundDock. Still, I cannot find it within myself to give the Bose SoundDock a perfect 5 star rating. The narrow stereo soundfield and premium cost keep my rating at 4 and 1/2 stars. I take music sound quality very seriously, and in my opinion this Bose system, while expensive, is still worth the money. I highly recommend this product for anyone that is extremely serious about excellent sound quality and isn't afraid to spend the money to obtain it. Martin Freeman - sherlock, mystery
Sherlock Holmes....makes brainy sexy. Sure he's a self described "high functioning sociopath", with no people skills; but he's brilliant, driven and dresses wonderfully. Dr. John Watson is not a patsy (not a sidekick - he's a partner); sharp, wry, worldly man of action who tolerates Sherlock's idiosyncrasies because he misses the adrenaline edge of combat and seeks meaning in a life after war. They are evenly matched although Sherlock draws the attention and enmity of their foes - Watson is a good second.
The writing is engaging, cheeky, smart and fast paced. It rolls current technology into the stream of consciousness. The looks of awe when Sherlock figures it out - and his amusement when he learns he's alone are priceless. The cinematography, costumes, lighting and use of text overlays to move the story along are well placed and impressive on their own.
But the intelligence of the show is its presumption in the interest of the watcher; therefore moving with alacrity, flexibility and certain undefinable element of charm missing from many US shows (the brilliant but cancelled Life with Damian Lewis excluded). I'm a US viewer lucky enough to have a friend in the UK - but this show should gain followers worldwide with the power to draw from the past literary works and latch onto the current to slingshot us into the future of TV - for thinking people. Sherlock: Season One
As a big fan of the original stories and of the 80's Granada show with Jeremy Brett I was expecting to be disappointed by this show. I wasn't! Though it has been transplanted to modern day London it has kept the spirit of the books, and the casting is superb, especially the lead actor who plays the cold, calculated Holmes to perfection.
It's not an easy task to move this concept into a modern day setting given the advances in forensic science since the stories were first published, but focusing on Holmes' acute intelligence, observation and deduction it still gives that sense of awe that makes you feel like you're waking around with your eyes shut.
Don't hesitate... buy or rent this today if you love Holmes!
One of my top favorites, great acting, directing and writing.
each episode is almost 2 hours long and it gives enough time to develop the story and characters,
I hesitated when I saw the series was in modern time, but very soon after I forgot completely and accepted the change, come to think of it that made it even more enjoyable and easier for me to relate as viewer.
Excellent series, I am beyond happy to see it return next year, and I can assure you then it will end in my shopping card too.
I needed another adaptation featuring Sherlock Holmes about as much as I needed a full frontal lobotomy. Don't get me wrong--I love Holmes. As a boy, I read every story. Through the years, I've seen so many versions of Sherlock that I can't even begin to enumerate them all. I knew things looked bleak when everyone raved about last year's Guy Richie version and I found it only slightly amusing and greatly overproduced. I patently refused to accept this new BBC adaptation and refused to watch it--but I relented (I'm so weak willed) and now, hat in hand, I repent. This glorious updating is fast, smart, and riveting entertainment. What an idiot I would have been to miss it!
Set in contemporary London, "Sherlock" modernizes three classic mysteries. Episode One is "A Study In Pink" and, by itself, it is an absolutely perfect film. The way the murder is introduced, the stellar screenplay, the ingenious play on familiar characters, the droll humor, the emotional resonance, and the technological innovation to update this tale all work in perfect harmony to create an unforgettable re-imagining of Sherlock Holmes. Episode Two, "The Blind Banker," is solid but inevitably pales in comparison to the brilliant opening. And Episode Three, "The Great Game," caps this trio expertly. Just when I thought I had things figured out, "The Great Game" packs a huge wallop--the cliffhanger, and indeed the last 20 minutes, provide one of the most diabolically clever games of cat-and-mouse that you're likely to encounter. Absolutely riveting--it'll leave you gasping and begging for more!
Benedict Cumberbatch turns in a star making portrayal as Holmes. Cumberbatch, with his unorthodox appearance, has always stood out for me--but this is easily his most memorable performance. But surprisingly, it is Watson who is the real revelation here. Martin Freeman brings incredible depth as a war veteran who is alternately awed and frustrated by Holmes. While the banter is devised for maximum cleverness, there are real characters in "Sherlock." While Richie's cleverness led to a "too cool for school" vibe, the BBC version has actual emotional consequence by fully fleshing out the lead characters. As the episodes, for me, would rate 5 stars, 4 stars, and 4 1/2 stars respectively--I'll round up for just how improbably good this turned out to be. Creator Steven Moffatt is on a streak with "Dr. Who," "Coupling" and the delightfully revisionist "Jekyll" and "Sherlock" ranks with the best. KGHarris, 11/10.
I'll admit, I was skeptical at first. After all, half of the allure of Sherlock Holmes is the grittiness and fog contrasting against the elegance and splendor of the Victorian era. How would this translate in a modern era? Surprisingly well, it turns out. Although only 3 episodes have been released (and yes, it has been renewed for further seasons/series), Sherlock has already found a place in my heart (and a permanent slot on my iPod). The acting is absolutely fabulous, and it is a smart blend of action, suspense, drama, and comedy, filled with references to the novels.
A Study in Pink (Steven Moffat): Written by the mastermind behind the latest season/series of Doctor Who starring Matt Smith (my favorite year of DW to date), and other gems like Jekyll (another modern retelling, this time of Robert Louis Stevenson's Victorian horror story), A Study in Pink re-introduces you to the characters of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson. Based more off the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle stories than the movies that made the term "dearstalker" a household name, Holmes solves mysteries the police cannot using his powers of observation, keen ability to connect the dots, and a smartphone. Watson, an Afghan war vet once more (things never really do change, do they?), is introduced to Holmes while looking for a roommate, and finds in him a friend and partner who can satisfy his need for adventure and danger in the humdrum of post-war life. On the advice of his psychiatrist, Watson begins a blog about Holmes' cases, and thus fulfills the role of biographer to the famous consulting detective. In this story, the police are looking into a series of deaths that are believed to be suicides by ingestion of pills, but Sherlock knows are murders. The mystery takes second-stage to the characters in this one, though. While the story suffers a smidgen for it, you will still have a ton of fun watching the characters develop and the stage get set. A pitch-perfect introduction to what is surely going to be a beloved show for a long time.
The Blink Banker (Stephen Thompson): A series of mysterious spray-painted symbols links murders and disappearances to ancient Chinese artifacts. Easily the weakest of the three stories so far, but still a good time, with some particularly fine acting by Martin Freeman. The ending is especially chilling, and worth the price of admission alone.
The Great Game (Mark Gatiss): An explosion rocks London, and soon the culprit challenges Sherlock in a race against time to solve seemingly unrelated cases before the next bomb goes off. Dr. Watson shines in this episode, showing that he is not the bumbling idiot as often portrayed in the movies (but NOT in the books, mind you; while he is not Sherlock's equal in terms of training, he is nearly as smart, and certainly more world-wise). There are also some lovely moments between Sherlock and Mycroft, great character exposition with regards to how Sherlock's mind works, and the nemesis that has been winding himself into the plots and lurking in the background.
And the ending... oh, my. My friends and I are still talking about it!
This program is more like three stand-alone movies, each episode being about 1.5 hours with a satisfying conclusion to wrap it up at the end (with one minor episode 3 caveat, about which I will not go further to avoid the slightest chance of spoiling the moment). But like any movie and its sequels, it is still best to watch them in order.
(A side note: The price might seem like a bit much for only three episodes, until you realize how much you would be paying for one stand-alone movie. And this show is better than most movies I could name.) - Bbc - Sherlock - Martin Freeman - Mystery'
