Notebook Accessories - notebook stand, notebook riser

I've had two of these for almost a year now and I can't sing their praises enough.I have one in the home office and one on the bedside table which is a boon when hooking the notebook up to the flatscreen and watching downloaded movies.I also have a Logitech wireless mouse that works great on the bedcovers and takes care of most functions I need.

In response to Jeffs comments I can only suggest that he programmes his computer mouse (I also use Logitech wireless in the office) so that it can handle the volume and mute functions on his notebook. That's what I have done and it's sweet. 3M Vertical Notebook Riser (LX550)

This is the best riser I could have found! :) I was skeptical at first being just two pieces of plastic (has protection against scratches). It is able to bring the screen right to eye level and relieves any neck strain. I searched out and read reviews on so many risers. I cannot believe how sturdy this riser turned out to be for a heavy 17" laptop. 10 stars for this one.

We purchased this to turn a 17" laptop into a desktop unit. It works great and is designed well. Could be a bit heavier but it is totally adjustable and sturdy enough if you are not going to be moving the laptop around a lot. 3M does not make junk. I looked at other brands and designs, even bought one that I returned to the store. This was the best.

I searched and searched for the right laptop riser to get my monitor to eye level, since my neck has been suffering from working all day every day looking down at the screen on my desk. Using this product, I can prop the laptop up at an angle and still type on the laptop keyboard comfortably, which raises the monitor up off the desk about 8 inches... or I can stand the laptop up completely and use an external keyboard/mouse on the desk. This product is sturdy and easy to use.

I have a IBM Thinkpad T400. I used to use a tilted-angel laptop stand, which would raise the laptop approximately 20 degrees. This worked for awhile, but after extended use I noticed neck problems from having my head tilted down all the time. I also noticed that I would regularly "lean in" to my monitor, since it would be so far from my keyboard.

I searched the web for laptop stands and man, is there a lot of junk out there. But the 3M Vertical Notebook riser is the *perfect* stand for my office and my notebook.

Why? First, it supports an adjustable angle, but the angles are all WAY higher than what you find in typical stands. I have mine at nearly 80 degrees. This makes the monitor height exactly what it is supposed to be -- the top of my monitor is at eye level. And, it brings the monitor quite a few inches closer, to exactly its desired distance -- arm's length.

So now, my setup includes a split keyboard (goldtouch), a comfortable mouse, and the vertical riser. Finally, an ergonomic home desktop office that is powered by my notebook computer!

This stand is the PERFECT solution to my need for a reliable ergonomic laptop stand. I was skeptical when I ordered this item but not any more! It is easily assembled, highly adjustable, and confidently supports my 17" HP laptop. I do use a standard wireless keyboard and mouse. It holds the laptop screen at the exact height and I have no fear of it tipping, slipping or falling apart. Highly recommend it!

I use multiple laptops for work as I can transport them from office to office easily, but hate typing on the small, cramped keyboards. This stand is very nice as it holds any size laptop very securely, is adjustable to any degree of tilt all the way to full vertical, and comes apart for slipping into a laptop bag and taking with you.

The vertical placement that this can do is great, hard to find in any other one. No way these will slip out either, very secure design.

To use this effectively though you will not be able to type on the notebook keyboard while it is in the stand, you want want a mini USB keyboard to plug into and place in front, or a wireless keyboard/mouse combo. So much nicer though to give it some air and raise the screen to eye level.

Took off one star because it is flat along the bottom and blocks access to the buttons on the front of my Dell XPS 1210 for things like mute and volume control, there is a Kensington stand I also have from the Dell site that has a curved front to allow access to those buttons, but it does not go vertical like this one, so have to choose what is best for you.

Overall, very good, highly recommend for getting your desk space back.

Item was 1/2 the price then anywhere else and is great to get the laptop up to eye level. Before you buy this make sure your laptop screen will fold almost flat otherwise this product might not work for you. I have 2 laptops...one for work and one personal....this only works for 1 of my laptops. But it is still a great item!! - Notebook Riser - Notebook Stand - Laptop Holder - Laptop Riser'

Christmas Present - christmas present, mothers day gifts

I bought this for myself for Christmas, being a mom to 3 kids. Mother pendants can get pretty pricey, and I bought this one because it was cheaper than many of the other ones out there. I got my necklace only a week after ordering it, during the Christmas season, and to an APO box in Italy, I was very happy with the shipping time of this necklace. I put it on immediately after getting it. The chain is pretty short, shorter than I like the chains of my necklaces. The pendant itself feels like it was cheaply made, it has a kind of plastic feel to it and seems like it could snap easily. I went to sleep with it on and the next morning I was attached to my sheet by my necklace. The back clapse popped open and my necklace fell off, I thought that it was broken, but the clapse was just bent a bit. I will be buying a longer and better chain for it. I love my necklace but I don't expect it to last long with a nursing 12 month old.

I would recommend this for other mothers, but so long as they know what they are purchasing before they commit to the buy. Loving Family® Sterling Silver Pendant - Mother and 3 Children

I got this for Christmas this year. I have three daughters and I think the necklace really captures a mother's love of her children. My youngest has already decided which one is her! It's really pretty and I love it.

I was skeptical at first, but when the pendant arrived it was very nice. It is very lovely, and does not have any sort of "cheap" feel to it. It is petite and sleek; doesn't stand out too bad, but is pretty enough to catch attention! A longer chain is needed when ordering, just so future buyers are aware. But, this was an excellent purchase.

LOVE, LOVE, L-O-V-E this necklace... just gorgeous and so special to wear. Others notice it when I wear it and make wonderful comments on it. The sterling silver was my main attractor... I wanted something beautiful and yet "simple" enough to enjoy wearing with casual or dressy outfits. This works for both. Great price and an excellent gift to give to new moms, grandmothers, mothers at any point in their motherhood basically... and to buy for yourself! Good quality, beautiful and strong enough chain to feel confident it won't break anytime soon.

I bought one of these for my mother and mother-in-law. Both loved their necklaces! This necklace is very pretty and subtle. Although I would've liked to have been able to afford the gold, these silver versions are just as lovely. I like the smaller version of the pendant, especially after seeing it in person. I think the larger version would just be too much, although I do tend to prefer more understated jewelry.

My husband bought me one of the necklaces, but with two parents and two children. I love mine so much. I ordered this one for my friend. She is going through a difficult divorce and is now on her own with 3 kids. I am going to give it to her for Valentines day. I do not think they look cheap at all, infact the pendant seems to be very well made. It has a beautiful satin finish. The chain is short, but I like to have necklaces of different lengths depending on what I am wearing. My friend and I both work in the medical field and wear scrubs all day. The length of the chain is perfect for our uniforms as it falls right in the V-neck and is easily seen. I read a couple of the other reviews and I saw that a couple of comments were made about the chain getting caught in the sheet or breaking in the nigh, there is a simple remedy to that. TAKE IT OFF BEFORE GOING TO BED! Hope this helps. Also if you are a man, thinking of buying it-go for it. Even though it is inexpensive-women love sentimental things!

This item made my mother cry. True, it is a little smaller than excepted, but the dimensions are correct....the pendant just seems smaller than the picture. But its beautiful, shiny, and not at all cheap looking. It comes in a cute gift box that you dont even need to wrap. All my other family members loved it when my mother showed it to them.

I have been wanting a mothers ring for years, but have not found the perfect one. I saw this necklace, only with a mother, father and your choice of how many children. I scrolled further down and found this version, how perfect!! I'm still looking for the ring though! I would recommed this neclace to any mother! - Gift Idea - Moms Gifts - Mothers Day Gifts - Christmas Present'

Polishing Granite And Marble - polishing granite and marble

I was originally going to by the Secco kit because it had reviews and there were none for the Hardin. But when I realized there would be a 2-4 week wait for the Secco to ship, I canceled my order for the Secco and ordered the Hardin. I placed the order March 2 and it arrive March 8 with standard shipping. It arrived without the 10,000 grit buffing pad or radius wheel. A call to the company and it was on its way, so no problem. I bought the kit to shape and polish the edges of 12x12x1/4 granite tiles. Worked like a charm, starting with 50 grit pad to get basic shape and working up to 10,000 buffing pad. I had previously had to pay $12 per linear foot to have this work done, so needing 30 feet of tile edge polished made this a great deal. The grinder feels solid and runs well. It comes with both the handle pictured as well as a side handle, which I prefer. It also comes with a ground fault circuit interrupter (plugs on both ends so you can use it with other tools). I like that the water valve is on the underside rather than on top. That location makes it very convenient to operate the water valve with the index finger and the power switch with your thumb. I built a simple fixture from plywood to clamp the tiles at a 30 degree angle and worked on 10 tiles at a time, switching tiles rather than polishing pads. That seems to work best, and makes the location of the water valve and power switch important. Looks like I will get a lot of use out of the polishing pads before they wear out. I am thoroughly pleased with my purchase. Hardin 38WVPOLSET 3/8-Inch Radius Stone and Concrete 1/4 Round Bullnose Shaping and Wet Polishing Kit

I bought the polisher to polish and edge out granite for my kitchen. I have only finished the first piece and I'm already having problems. The first time I tried to change the edger to the polisher the blade lock snapped off. Luckily sticking a piece of metal in the hole where the button used to be will stop the blade for blade change. Second the wrench for the tool is flimsy and bent the second time I tried to change things up.

Then about 3/4 of the way through my first piece the hose that feeds the water started popping out the back. I put it back in a couple of times before it popped out and sent water into the motor and the variable speed switch started to go haywire. As I went to turn everything off and try to resolve the problem I ended up getting electrocuted.

I can't speak for the other users problems wit the switch. It seems a little stiff, but playing with the grinders in Home Depot is not any different feeling.

Buy a name brand tool from a legitimate company. It will make your life easier.

Plugged it in, turned it on and after 3 minutes it started varying speeds. After 5 minutes it would not turn on again. VERY disappointing. I would stay away from this. Wasn't even pushing hard or stressing the tool.

I USED THE ITEM ONCE ON SOME GRANITE.AND THE TRIGGER BUTTON DOES NOT FUNTION WELL HAD TO STRUGGLE WITH IT TO KEEP IT RUNNING .HAD TO PUSH REAL HARD IN THE ON POSITION AND KEEP THUMB PRESSED HARD IN ON POSITION TILL I GOT THROUGH ALL THE PADS .MY ARM WAS VERY TIRED AND IM IN GREAT SHAPE FOOD FOR THOUGHT . - Polishing Granite And Marble'

Sandy Bridge

During my most recent build I upgraded from a Q6600 -- which was a good chip back in its day. This chip SCREAMS, however.

I have it overclocked to 4.5 Ghz on ASUS P8P67 PRO motherboard with 8 gigs of G Skill ripjaws ram using the Asus AI Suite. Windows Experience Index gives this a score of 7.8 in my system. Passmark Software CPU Benchmark (google them) ranks this processor the 7th best performing CPU, in the following order (it was Number 3 when I bought it):

Intel Core i7 990X @ 3.47GHz cpu mark: 10,917 NA

Intel Core i7 995X @ 3.60GHz cpu mark: 10,795 NA

Intel Core i7 980X @ 3.33GHz cpu mark: 10,482 $999.99*

Intel Core i7 970 @ 3.20GHz cpu mark: 9,925 $899.99**

Intel Xeon X5680 @ 3.33GHz cpu mark: 9,721 $1,676.49*

Intel Xeon W3680 @ 3.33GHz cpu mark: 9,655 $1,127.12*

Intel Xeon X5675 @ 3.07GHz cpu mark: 9,326 NA

Intel Core i7-2600K @ 3.40GHz cpu mark: 9,291 $329.99**

Note that three of the CPU's that have better performance scores are NOT commercially available at the current time, and the remaining three processors are three to five times the price of this one. The closest desktop AMD processor is the AMD Phenom II X6 1100T, which has cpu mark scores only in the 6000 range. Passmark also has a price-to-performance chart that rates your best bang for the buck, though many of the highest scoring processors on that chart are simply much slower and much cheaper.

I am very happy with this: it overclocks extremely well and stays very cool. It runs all my programs with blazing speed, including BFBC2 with all settings on high. At 4.5 Ghz and full load, it doesn't go over 38 degrees Celsius.

Get it at this price while they're still available. Highly recommended. Intel Core i7 Processor i7-2600K 3.4GHz 8MB LGA1155 CPU BX80623I72600K

I've upgraded from my E8400 to this CPU. Even when not overclocked, 2600K outperforms my E8400 exactly 3 times in video processing and rendering. Considering what I've paid for E8400 several years ago, difference in speed is just excellent.

This processor is so much faster than my prior build, a Core i7-920, it's amazing. This puppy is almost as fast as the fastest $1,000 Gulf Town processor, for 1/3rd the price! It's performing flawlessly for me so far. I'm still playing with the overclocking, but some of my friends have gotten this chip up to 5.2 Ghz and beyond using just air cooling on the same motherboard I have, the Asus Maximus IV Extreme. I'm still playing around in the high 4s.

The design of the Sandy Bridge CPUs appear flawless. I'm just bummed that they wasted all those transistors on a useless (for many of us), mediocre video processor.

The "Cougar Point" P67/H67 Chipset problem is easily avoided. Just don't use the Intel SATA II ports on your Motherboard! No big deal if you have a good quality Motherboard with ample SATA III and non-Intel SATA II ports. How many people have more than 4 Optical and HDDs in their system anyway? The fellow who blamed the problem on the Sandy Bridge CPUs is entirely off base and unjustified...

Bought this i7 2600K chip for my new setup. Stably overclocked to 4.5Ghz on air with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus. Managed to test 5.0Ghz as some have claimed but got BoD the moment Windows logo appeared.

4.5 Ghz Overlocked

Idle Temp: Stable at 38 C

100% Load Temp: Stable at 68 C

Room's Ambient Temp: 30 C

For video conversion through HandShake, i7 2600K takes about 1/5th of the time a Core 2 Duo 6600 takes to complete.

This processor screams and tears through everything, all while managing to keep remarkably cool. Overclocked sound and stable to 4.5 ghz on a cheap air cooler

Some benchmarks @ 4.5:

Windows 7 WEI - 7.8

Cinebench 11.5 - 8.84 pts

Super PI 32m - 7m 45s

Passmark CPU performance 7.0 64 bit - 11700

Luckily my motherboard has 4 SATA III ports so I can avoid the faulty chipset issue with my 2 hard drives + 1 optical. Not in a huge hurry to exchange my board as system is rock solid

This processor is simply astounding. Period. I've run several benchmarks with it and have been totally satsified with the results. Forget i7 950's or even the ridiculous 980X; this processor shreds them all in most apps. It is also fairly energy efficient and is the OC champion of the day. Seriously, overclocking this processor is as easy as changing the multiplier in the bios to whatever you want (mine is set at x44 giving me 4533MHz). Add a decent cpu HSF and you can easily see 4.5-5.2 GHz on air!! These 32Nm chips are seriously quick and the Ivy Bridge processors of later this year will fit in the 1155 socket. Now is the time to get in on the Sandy Bridge bandwagon for sure!

Pors: Amazing stock speeds with incredibly simple overclock ability/Energy efficient/Low temps/Next generation architecture/AMD who???

Cons: None that I can think of...

Other notes: Buy the less expensive i5 2500k if you do not plan on heavy video encoding etc. The 2600k's feature set is pretty much useless for pure-gaming performance....

Pros:

* Overall the processor is extremely fast and reliable...

* Overclocks Extremely fast and easy.

* Low voltage compared to my Q6600 (between .95-1.3 depending on Turbo and frequency)

* Have overclocked to 4.6Ghz and 4.9Ghz when turbo kicks in. Totally stable and runs only 2-4degrees Fahrenheit above room temperature during full throttle and runs at 75-82 degrees Fahrenheit (21-30C) during idle PC work (internet surfing, etc.) and up to 50C or 145ish F. Very cool for the speed and transistor count. I have experience with a $100 X4 AMD running at 4Ghz and when this processor is set to 4Ghz it runs circles around AMD. (I realize the price difference but do not be fooled when your friends try to one up you with a 4Ghz AMD and this spanks the 6-Core as well)

* According to Sandra Utilities at complete stock settings with mem set to 1066(had bad mem) it was fastest score on list and I rated in at 800th place out of every benchmark in world! and at 4.6Ghz with new ram running at 1866 I was rated the 270th fastest score in world. I was rated at 117GOPS. Freaking AWESOME! My Q6600 only scored a 36GOPS running at 3Ghz... So huge improvement!

Other Thoughts:

* For basic overclocks between 4-4.4Ghz it is as easy as typing in 44 in the multiplier and hit save and close. DONE! That is it... For 4.5-4.6Gh you need to increase voltage a smudge and save. With my Gigabyte UD7 I simply set the Vcore Voltage to "Level 1"(Small increase) and save. Still very easy. For 4.7Ghz-5.2Ghz you will have to Learn how to adjust many settings- (Turbo On/Off?, Proper Vcore, and proper mem timings to go with the those speeds. All doable, but time consuming in the beginning. Find the sweet spot and you are off. This is assuming you have a $50+ dollar air cooler or H70 Water block.

If you have any questions about Overclocking, etc, let me know.

My system is as follows:

* Cooler Master HAF X (AMAZING CASE)

* GIGABYTE GA-P67A-UD7

* G.SKILL Ripjaws X (17000) 8GB (2 x 4GB)

* COOLER MASTER Silent Pro Gold Series RS800-80GAD3-US 800W (completely silent)

* EVGA 570GTX Super Clock

* Prolimatech Megahalems Rev. B with a push/pull setup using Cooler Master 120mm Green LED Case Fan - (R4-L2R-20CG-GP 90CFM. (This is an AMAZING cooler and beats my brothers H70 water cooling setup and is completely silent at 18DB)

* Vertex 2 for OS and 3 WD4 500gigs in Raid 0 for data.... No bottle neck here :) Vertex 2- 270Mbs and my raid is 400Mbs'

Playstation Move

I've been a big fan of Killzone since it came out on the PS2. With each game the developer has taken slow but SOLID steps in creating a strong FPS game that refuses to pull its punches. Each installment improves upon the existing and Killzone 3 doesn't disappoint. The rumors of a short campaign, blotchy storyline, etc are very overblown. Not only does Killzone 3 deliver a solid, faster paced single player campaign than the previous installment, but the Multi-Player is some of the most addictive I've experienced.

GAMEPLAY - Single Player

If you played Killzone 2, better yet... the KZ3 SP demo you know what to expect. I actually found the controls of the final product smoother than the demo. There was more response to the aiming and I even had to turn down my sensitivity from what I had been playing the demo at. The campaign of the game easily spans about 6-8 hours or did so for me, which is far better than the 4-5 hrs some review sites were claiming. They either rushed through the game or played it on Easy (which is no fun, you feel like a god on Easy mode) Combat is fast yet smooth with the enemy AI being quite smart in how it combats you. You can see there was a very high polish put into the Helghast AI as they will consistently take cover, blind fire and work to create flanking setups on you. If you played through Killzone 2's campaign KZ3 has a similar setup to how it progresses(cutscene, tons of combat/action, cutscene... rinse and repeat) The gameplay gets changed up consistently. You can go from ground n' pound style to suddenly on a tank turret back to ground pounding then suddenly in a mech then flying a jetpack etc. There are some rail shooter events (clearly designed for the MOVE controller support) but they actually do a great job giving you a break from being a foot soldier. Overall, the single player campaign has quite a lot to offer with plenty of variety and embracing you in a true feeling of war.

Multiplayer - Not my strong point but the MP is actually enjoyable. If you played the KZ3 MP demo there isn't much that has changed other than new maps and some small improvements. The MP setup is the best Killzone has offered yet and might even give Call of Duty a run for its money on the PS3. While the MP might not be for everyone it is definitely worth checking out and has a lot of potential for some great competitive matches.

STORY/SOUND

Killzone is pretty much the story of the ISA and Helghast war. First Helghast invades the ISA, the ISA counter and Killzone 3 picks up right where Killzone 2 ends. Don't expect an award winning storyline here but it is present. Killzone 3 focuses this time on the ISA efforts to escape as well as the internal workings of the Helghast leaders. It provides more depth than the previous games while not being to overly chatty. Killzone 3 does a better job presenting the story than Killzone 2 did I feel, but it also brings to light the storyline is very weak. However, story was never really Killzone's main object. *** The Audio in KZ3 is fantastic. Guns sound powerful, AI units and Helghast enemies sound very life like. Ambient noise is incredible especially during firefights. You can tell they worked really hard polishing this game so that the audio effects help immerse you into the gameplay.

GRAPHICS

I don't even have to say much here. The graphics look amazing. While they aren't jaw dropping nor give you "awe factor" like sun sets and stuff; Killzone 3 uses its powerful graphic engine to give you a very realistic feel of the battle. Snow, water, fire, gun shots.. it all looks amazing and creates stunning environments. The only negative I could say about the graphics is that when you go to a cut-scene the character textures don't look nearly as good as the weapon and level textures. But, we all know we're playing Killzone 3 for the in game action not looking at how bad Sev needs a new haircut ^_^

REPLAY/LENGTH

As said earlier, for me the SP campaign on NORMAL clocked in at 6-8 hrs give or take. The campaign was a ton of fun and just like Killzone 2 I could see myself playing through it quite a few times to try for some trophies, or just to own some Helghast. What truely boosts the length and replay-ability of this game is the MP. I wasn't fond of KZ2's multiplayer so while KZ2 had lots of SP replay for me, it did lack that MP edge. KZ3 however comes to the table with all cylinders firing. While SP is def worth replaying, the MP is what is worth keeping this game within arms reach at all times. Even if you are not competitive(casual like me), the MP is fun with plenty of features to keep you occupied for some time.

OVERALL (91% 9.1/A-)

Killzone 3 didn't disappoint. It has been a long wait and well worth it. The MP is better than expected and the SP-campaign exceeded my expectations. I would give this game overall a 91% (9.1/10). The game fired on all cylinders and what small negatives I encountered were far from game breaking. The only real gripes I would take I found in the SP-campaign.

1. The ISA voice acting wasn't really that good. There was no sense of urgency in their voices and it just felt like they were reading lines (except for Rico, Sev and Jammer they had some great voice acting, as did the Helghast)

2. Sometimes the Objective marker would simply bug out. When I would try to tag where I had to go nothing would appear and my objectives menu would be empty (but I clearly had to destroy 2 more tanks or set a door charge somewhere). Minor annoyance

3. Melee damaged doors to open them oddly, I would Melee the door and about a second later it would explode. Weird lag, only was happening on the interactive doors you could break.

Outside of those 3 issues the game was pretty much a fantastic FPS that well warrants a 91% score. It delivers a solid SP campaign experience and outstanding MP setup. A MUST BUY for any FPS fan

** v1.03 was released 2/24/2011 this version has fixed Issue 2 and Issue 3 on my end ** Killzone 3'

Eye Safety - eye safety, safety glasses

I work in a lab, and I also ride a bike :) When we went out for a ride on a cold and dry day, I needed something to protect my eyes from the wind. I didn't have any cycling glasses, so I just grabbed my lab safety glasses, and they work great!! I purchased my own clear and shaded glasses, and I think they're the best thing ever. I've gone on 50+ mile rides with these. Cycling glasses typically cost at least $40 a pair, and the pricy ones are over $100. Sure, the fancy glasses probably have better ventilation (on really humid mornings when I'm working up a sweat, the AO glasses do fog a bit, but it's usually not that big of a deal). Also, granted, I've never really used *real* cycling glasses because they're so expensive. The AO safety glasses cost 70-90% less, and if I crash and break them, it doesn't cost that much to just buy another pair. Also, because the lenses wrap around, my peripheral vision is unobstructed and uniform with the rest of my vision. That's a big deal for me, especially if I need to watch for traffic. It bothers me a lot when I can't use my peripheral vision because the glasses frame is in the way. Not so with these. Also, in regard to aesthetics, the shaded glasses look great, and the clear glasses aren't even that noticeable. Because the clear glasses are all clear plastic, someone has to look at you up close to tell that you have them on. In terms of comfort, I often forget that I'm even wearing them, which would also be the case if I wore them in the lab for a full work day. Bravo. If I break them, I'm buying more.

By the way, in the spirit of eye protection, everyone should always wear some kind of glasses when riding a bike, even on short rides. I learned this the hard way when a piece of debris scratched my cornea. Not a pleasant experience. So now I wear these glasses every time I do my 1.5-mile commute. Flat Caps - cold weather accessories, driving cap

I have a big head and find it hard to find hats that fit. XL sometimes will do it but I prefer 2XL. This is the first time I tried [...] and am glad all the positive reviews were spot on! This hat is very good quality. The adjustable strap works great and does not detract from the aesthetics. The hat just feels soooo comfy and it looks sharp. Buy one! Big Wool Blend Newsboy Cap-Dk. Charcoal W07S38E

Well I must say this is a fabulous hat. The picture was accurate to the color. Very comfortable. Wool is very soft. Seems it's well made. Time will tell. Even has a nice new smell:) It was shipped to my house in no time. Earlier than estimated delivery. They even gave me a free pen:) I'm very pleased with my nice new hat.

If you need a size XL or XXL, this is the cap for you! It is a true size XL and it is adjustable to fit size XXL. The inside of the cap is fully lined so it is really warm. The outside of the cap is stylish. I would buy another, but it looks like this one will last several years. Big Wool Blend Newsboy Cap-Dk. Charcoal

This hat is perfect! I like the aesthetics of styles from generations past. I had this on my wish list for some time but was just hesitant to buy something I cannot try on. It fit well, and then I discovered the back flap is velcro (and well hidden) and got it to fit perfectly now. I'm a young guy, and I don't get paid much.. so I tend to choose my purchases carefully. I couldn't be happier with this hat. The day I wake up after a night of drinking and realize I have lost this hat, or it's been stolen by a woman (the fate of many hats that once belonged to me) I will immediately replace it!

Had been looking for a large newsboy hat like this. But like a previous reviewer stated, wish it was a little slouchier on the top. Also, the lining should be gray/black not tan because it does show a little around the band. Overall, I am satisfied with the hat. But, it's not the go to hat I was looking for.

I bought this hat for my husband for Christmas. He has always admired this style of hat. I was not sure of his head size but when I read a few reviews and saw that it was adjustable, I thought it might work. It worked perfectly. My husband likes the hat very well, he was able to adjust it for a custom fit. I will probably be buying more in the future. Amazon came through for me again.

I was looking for an oversized newsboy cap, and found this one. It is a nice cap, and the adjustable band is a good idea. I would have preferred it to have a bit more material in the top, making a more "slouch" in the cap, but it is still very nice. One other thing, unfortunately, was that the hat not the same color, as the one displayed. It is actually lighter in color, but was still worth the purchase price.

The hat is made of strong material and shipped quickly. It even has an adjustable strap. I bought it for my brother for Christmas and everyone says he looks very dapper in it and he adores it. It's a very nice hat!

They sent a hat which matched the color of the hat I ordered AND NOTHING ELSE; no vents, two cheap straps on the side vs. elastic, no liner, a weird head band, no bill snap,...... They said to send it back, throwing good money after bad. - Flat Caps - Best - Driving Cap - Cold Weather Accessories'

Womens Socks - made in usa, socks

I use these socks as a substitute for slippers- I'm not big on going barefoot and I have some foot problems, so I like having something soft on my feet when I'm not wearing shoes. These socks are nice and thick (which is why I don't wear them with shoes- for me, they are WAY too thick for shoes or sneakers, about the same thickness as a traditional tubesock) and despite being washed several times, the elastic has held up nicely and the socks don't lose their shape.

However, the heels have worn down on several of the pairs and I've had to replace them. We have laminate and carpeted floors so no "rough" surfaces, just regular wear and tear. But the socks are very inexpensive and hold up really well in every other way so I don't mind having to replace them every few months.

I highly recommend. I wouldn't use them for daily wear with shoes (except something very roomy, like Crocs or clogs) because of how thick they are, but they are perfect socks for lounging around, when you want something warm and cushion-y on your feet that won't slide down or roll off. Champion Women's 6-Pack Performance Ankle Socks, White, 5-9

These socks were the most comfortable I had ever worn. I just kept coming back to purchase more. That is until they changed their product. I thought I had made a mistake and ordered the wrong kind, but no, I ordered again and got the same "new" socks. These socks have a band that goes around the middle of your food and they are not comfortable at all. I am upset because I loved how these socks felt before they changed them.

I had found these cotton anklets by Champion at Target once upon a time. Of course, when I went back, they didn't have them any more.

I was so disappointed because they are made in America and I try to buy American as much as possible. When I found these on Amazon, I was hoping they were the same sock. Yay! They are. They are nicely cushioned.

You should try them!

In the picture, they look like plain socks. What I received was a 6 pack of socks with a terry cloth lining. There is a seam across the toe that means the socks have to be worn inside out to avoid blisters. They are also so thick they won't fit in my shoes. If you plan on wearing them without shoes, I suggest getting socks with those little rubber type dots on the bottom so you don't slip.

The product ordered (Champion Women's 6-Pack Performance Ankle Socks, White, 5-9) is NOT what I received. I received a 6-pack of socks with cutesy little pink, lilac, etc. doodads embroidered on them. I'm not the "cutesy" type at age 69. Plus, they are a very tight fit. I've worn them and will keep them as the hassle isn't worth it, but wish they were the items I ordered. And I haven't lived in Tyler in years, but can't find a way to change it to Sweetwater, TX.

This sock is very comfortable, and I like the elastic around the arch of the foot. It feels very supportive and adds comfort because I do not wear shoes that often so my feet don't have a lot of arch support during the day. They are holding up very well in the wash and show no wear. - Womens - Socks - Made In Usa - Active'

Wide Baby Gate - dog gate, wide gate

if you have the boarder thing along the bottom of the walls like we do, it doesnt fit right and you can move the bottom of the gate. We will probably end up having to cut a piece of it out so we can attach it properly. But all in all, its a great gate and looks beautiful in our house. The dogs cant knock it down and my daughter doesnt even think twice about climbing it because its so tall. Childrens Literature - 5 star books, childrens books

I first had this book read to me as a child, and it stuck with me throughout life. I would always remember that anyone can have a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day (even in Australia). In fact, sometimes I still tell people that I am having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day, and it someone flickers with recognition, then all is well in the world!

Contrary to what some reviewers say, this is not a depressing book. It's one to keep on the shelf and re-read any day things aren't going right. It has a wonderful message and is beautifully illustrated.

This is a timeless classic. Adults and children will enjoy the experience. Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Though I wouldn't necessarily admit this to anyone over about 3 feet tall, I must say this is my all time favorite book bar none. I read it as a child and found myself instantly relating to Alexander and distinctly remember feeling pleased that someone...anyone...else had the capacity to blow a day full of minor irratations out of proportion so dramatically. Now, as a preschool teacher I love it yet more because not only do the children have terrible, horrible, no good, very bad days, but when they do, so too do I. I find myself reading the book out loud with so much drama and emphasis that it is emensely cathartic for all of us! I adore this book and firmly believe that every human on the planet would benefit from dramatic readings of it from time to time.

The reviewers who criticize the main character's negative tone or run-on sentences, or the lack of a cutesy, make-it-all-better ending, are missing the point of this story. The "voice" of the book is precisely why we love it so much.

Alexander is a real boy--warts and all. When real kids are upset, they pour it all out in a rapid stream of words (and to heck with grammar!)--and of course, everything feels like the end of the world to them at that moment. Judith Viorst captures that very well.

We can relate because Alexander's life is like real life--lots of seemingly minor stressors can add up to one really rotten day; and because it isn't just one problem, there isn't a neat, tidy resolution at the end. In fact, in and of themselves, none of these things are really "problems"--just stuff you have to put up with sometimes. But when it all hits at once, it feels awful.

I think we've all had days like Alexander's: the alarm doesn't go off so you run out of the house late and with "bad hair," you spill coffee on your white blouse (or new tie) just before the big meeting with the boss, you snag your nylons (or lose a button), the pop machine in the breakroom eats your money, you end up having to work overtime, so when you get out to the car you find a parking ticket because you forgot to feed the meter, and then at home, dinner burns on the stove and the kids are fighting! So at the end of it all you collapse in a heap and momentarily consider running away--FAR away. Maybe even Australia! And (adding insult to injury) nobody else seems to care or empathize, because all of these things are just little petty annoyances. It's easy to forget that when one little thing hits you (like a pebble), it's nothing; but when a LOT of things (or pebbles) hit you, it's an avalanche!

On those days, there isn't much you can do but fall into bed and pray that tomorrow will be better--and that you'll laugh about it all later, too.

When an adult reads Alexander's story to a child, the adult can point out that none of the things happening to Alexander are really all that bad--things could definitely be worse; the child can suggest ways that Alexander might have been able to turn his day around; and, most of all, it's good to point out that, despite how grumpy he feels, Alexander still follows the rules and obeys directions (he puts on the jammies even though he hates them, etc.) and doesn't have a "meltdown" or a temper tantrum over it all (though he DOES get a little sour-faced and moody, and that can be talked about as well.)

When one of my kids is having a bad day, I'll often be able to lighten his mood by saying, "Are you having a terrible . . . HORRIBLE . . . . NOGOODVERYBADDAY??" (At my house, you have to start out slow and then get louder and faster--it always gets a laugh.) It also cheers up my sons to compare their plight to Alexander's--and find they are grateful that at least they didn't have to wear ugly jammies or eat lima beans for dinner that day.

There are other books we love more on good days--like "Where the Wild Things Are," or "Green Eggs & Ham." But on a NO-GOOD-VERY-BAD-DAY, this is the one we read--and it always makes us smile.

This book was recently read to my kindergarten sunday school class. While I was listening along with the children, I just had to crack a smile. I've had plenty of days just like Alexander. As a college student, days like this are normal occurances, but it wasn't until I read this book that I realized how much I can blow things out of perspective. Just like in the story, my bad days often begin with my bad attitude while getting out of bed. I truly believe that this book is absolutely essential for everyone to read. If you're not having a bad day, then great...but if you are, it'll definitely put a smile on your face and help put things back in proportion. Just a reminder that good advice for everyone can come from anywhere, even a children's story book.

Ever have a day when absolutely nothing went right? Haven't we all? That's probably why so many children fall in love with this book; we've all been there, even the very young ones, so they can relate just like we grownups can. From the first mishap in the early morning when he wakes up with last night's chewed gum stuck in his hair, to the final indignity of being rejected by the cat (who wants to sleep with his brother Anthony, not with him), with umpteen mishaps and misfortunes in between (lima beans for supper? Yuck. Kissing on TV? Double-yuck!), Alexander's day just gets worse and worse. If you had a day like that, wouldn't you want to hop the first jet to Australia? Judith Viorst has an uncanny knack for being able to put herself in a five-year-old's shoes, and her book lets kids know that their feelings are valid and normal. And at the book's end, Alexander -- and the youngsters -- realize that days like that are bound to happen, even in Australia.

This is a great read-aloud book; the kids usually end up chanting (or shouting) along with the reader "It was a TERRIBLE!! HORRIBLE!! NO!! GOOD!! VERY!! BAD!! DAY!!" and Ray Cruz's pen and ink drawings are a delight and add to the fun. I've read this book to several first-graders and each one of them clamored for a repeat. This is one book that belongs on every child's bookshelf and will probably be treasured for years to come.

Thermometer Hygrometer - humidity guage, temp-humidity

I bought one of the Dylos monitors several months ago and I was initially quite impressed. I have the more advanced, 0.5 micron model, and it reported count readings that seemed to correlate with time of day (lower reading at night) and activity (e.g. higher reading when I am dusting) However, I was not as impressed after it started to report readings that were inexplicable. For example, after a while, the reading seem to rest on a plateau of about 2200 (which signified bad air quality), whereas before it should normally read 700. I taped a piece filter paper to cover the ingress and the reading will drop to 1700. So I called up Dylos customer and technical support, who were very friendly and helpful. However, the answers I got from them were not entirely encouraging. First, the monitor had no calibrating function. So, if you suspect the reading is too high (as in my case) or too low, you are just left wondering; and of course, once you think a test or measuring tool is suspect, you don't trust/use it! Second, both the ingress and egress of the monitor has no wire gauze to protect insects from getting inside. This is not good, because if an insect got inside and contaminated the lens, the readings would be completely meaningless. Third, worse yet, you are not supposed to open up the monitor (it will void the warranty; laser might injure your eye if you are not careful) to do any cleaning. So, if, over time, cooking grease vapor, say, condensed on the surface of the lens, the accuracy of the reading would be called into question, and you cannot do any meaningful cleaning. Dylos technical support was kind enough to check and service the monitor for me (even though I admitted to having opened the unit), but the monitor still does not work right.

So, as much as I appreciate the good folks at Dylos, who really tried to help me, I just do not find this monitor a reliable tool, due to the design flaws I outlined above, which I hope they would address in a subsequent version. I hope your experience is better. Dylos DC1100 Laser Air Quality Monitor

I had to write this review because someone said this was overpriced. I checked and the next least expensive Air Quality Monitor here which reads particles is the Fluke 983 which sells for $4,495.00 on Amazon!! The Dylos DC1100 is a laser particle counter which have always been very expensive instruments. Dylos wrote the patent for their technology so that is why they are so much less expensive than everyone else. The unit I'm listening to is actually pretty quiet too and the fan is not annoying at all, but you can always use monitor mode if it bothers you. Also, someone said that they didn't trust the readings because they went up and down, but that is what particulate levels in a house do - they go up and down and often for no apparent reason. That is why you need one of these things so you know how much junk you're breathing! I will say that I think the threat of insects crawling into the unit is real, but a little bug spray around the area you use it might be all that's needed. The people at Dylos are always very helpful and repairs or recalibrations are very cheap.

I bought the .5 micron model. The reason I bought one of these is to test the exhaust from different HEPA vacuum sweepers I have. All I wanted to know is what works and what doesn't... meaning what vacuum sweepers put out readings of "0" particles down to 2.5 microns on that scale reading and "0" particles down to .5 microns on that scale reading in the vacuum's exhaust air. I simply put the Dylos near the exhaust port on the vac and waited for the results.

My lead and asbestos safe vacuums are easily confirmed to the "0" readings as they should be, where other HEPA vacs I own were confirmed to blow all kinds of potentially toxic dust out their exhaust ports even though they were "HEPA" vacs. And yes, we have since trashed every HEPA vac that did not blow clean air. Some of the "hepa" vacs were blowing out as much as a staggering 670,000 particles per hepa-filtered cubic foot of air... it was really eye-opening.

The Dylos told us everything we needed at a very reasonable price and I feel it is saving our lungs on the job site. This may not be the manufacturer's intended use for this product, but it works.

This is a good product. It does measure the count of micro particles in the air quite accurately. Great for you to test the filter of air conditioning systems, but cannot test allergen (like pollen) because it doesn't do any analysis - it cannot figure out what the particles are. Therefore, it is only for dust control.

Two big drawbacks: 1. very noisy in continous mode because it uses a fan to blow in air. However, it can also run in intermittent mode, which is less annoying. Go with this mode.

2. overpriced. When it first came out in 2007, it priced at 149 dollar, which is relatively reasonable. But now it 199 dollar, way over its base, in particular, given the current state of economy. If you don't need this in a rush, wait for a while, either the price will go down, or some made-in-China version will come out with less than 80 dollar. Just check what happened to the oximeter. The following made-in-China version brought the oximter price from 200+ dollars to 70- dollar Finger Pulse Oximeter Octive Tech 300C with Easy-Carry Soft Case

Conclusion: if in a rush, go get it; if not in a rush, just wait for a while. - Temp-humidity - Oxygen Saturation - Oximeter - Humidity Guage'

Dungeon Siege is a most entertaining game that has been lost in the dank, dusty halls of video game antiquity. No one I've talked to had heard of it, yet after reading ancient reviews of the game, I went out on a limb and purchased Legends of Aranna (definitely the way to go; Microsoft included Dungeon Siege with its expansion). I was delighted.

I received the game on a quiet weekend and ended up playing it for three days straight, every spare moment. I still didn't get a third of the way through the ORIGINAL game!

I cannot honestly say Dungeon Siege has a great story; it's recycled, it's simplistic, and it barely makes an appearance in the game. However, where Dungeon Siege really shines is its pure and unadulterated hacking and slashing. Dungeon Siege removes most of the frustrations that can occur in a hack-and-slash game, and strips down the genre to good, clean fun. There are far too many features aiding in making the experience simple and fun for me to go into here, but as a taste, Dungeon Siege includes packmules to carry extra loot, a spell called Transmute that turns the loot you still can't carry into gold (so you never lose any of your delightful items!) and one of the cleanest and simplest levelup systems I've ever seen.

When you're through with the original game, and Legends of Aranna, it's important to note that there are many siegelets (small games that are built on the dungeon siege engine) available; two from the company, and many available at random sites on the internet. These can add many dozens of hours of gameplay to an already turbo charged product.

In conclusion, for those who like hack and slash gameplay, Dungeon Siege delivers an incredible amount of value at an incredibly small cost. Dungeon Siege Legends Of Aranna

This is an action cRPG that came out after DIABLO II and just before NEVERWINTER NIGHTS. And it blew both of them out of the water!

Not as deep as NWN, yet the story engaged you enough to make it more than a hack'n'slash. Not as dark as DIABLO II, yet blood fever will take hold of you once in battle. A number of innovative ideas made DUNGEON SIEGE a unique experience: the cinematic perspective, the original characters (who thought up...machine-gun shooting medieval robots!), the fighting-back pack-mule...

At the same time, both the enemies' and your company members' AI is well above par.

Graphically, this is a 4 year game yet it plays much smoother and it has further horizons than most cRPGs today. Even if, to any true cRPG fun, graphics is not everything (otherwise DAWN OF MAGIC would have been considered a great game), DUNGEON SIEGE is found wanting in nothing when it comes to graphics. Not until TITAN QUEST got released could any cRPG hold a candle to DUNGEON SIEGE! Tress and grass move as you pass by, water ripples as you step into it and wakes as you walk through it. Everything worn or wielded appears on the character; whereas, magic spells are not shabby at all.

The game also sports a GREAT CAMERA PLACEMENT (zoom capable and totally customizable) and has one of the BEST SOUNDTRACKS - the theme music will stay with you as the appropriate theme for any epic battles in the future.

Those of you who were (rightfully) disappointed with the truly bad and much shorter DUNGEON SIEGE 2 (I still cannot fathom how they managed to botch that one!), keep in mind that it has only skin-deep similarities to its predecessor. This is the one to buy!

Combined with its expansion, this comes out...more expensive than buying them separately in jewel-cases - so, I would recommend shopping around first. Nevertheless, you will enjoy it more than most latest games!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I think there are enough reviews on this game to describe how fun it is, and addicting. Even though, lets face it, its very old school. But this is your typical, run-of-the-mill ARPG. No frills, just blood spills. I've played similar games such as Sacred, Sacred 2, Marvel Ultimate Alliance (1 and 2) and various others, and they all have the similar trappings and window dressing that makes a good ARPG fun.

I purchased this via Amazon through the vendor Select2Go. I almost didn't open the package to this game. The actual game packaging is completely different from the one shown in the picture. It isn't red. It doesn't include the tag line "Includes the original Dungeon Siege game" on the front of the box. And it also doesn't have 3 cd's. Mine was blue, from Ubisoft and contained only 1 DVD, with no mention anywhere on the packaging about it containing both the game and expansion. I had severe doubts, and almost returned this item.

However, after searching on the net, I felt assured that the game did indeed include both versions, so I popped it open, installed it, and low and behold, the original and expansion were on my desktop. There was a huge sigh of relief. However, why the seller or Amazon is using this older image or misplaced image is beyond me. So, if you get a blue package (that says Explosive Ubisoft), that doesn't mention the game including the original and expansion...don't worry. You've got it. If you get a red package with 3 cd's (which is the current place holder image last I checked)...I have no clue what you just purchased. Maybe you got it, but its just a different package and set up, thats perfectly feasible. But apparently the expansion that was released for this game did include the original game as a bonus. These old school games, when re-released....can just be confusing at times. Have fun!

I played the demo of this back when it first came out and was impressed but had other games I wanted to play. I wasn't really into the party gaming thing and enjoyed the solo romp of games like Diablo II and Morrowind.

Several years have gone by and I thought I'd buy this, with the expansion pack for cheap! So I've played and beat the original game, and just started on the expansion. It doesn't seem like you can import your character into the expansion, which makes it more like a new game than a true expansion, but that's how it goes. Anyway, it's not particularly wonderful, and definitely dated at this point, but it's a great time killer. And if you feel like being a casual gamer, the AI takes control of your character if you're not doing anything with it and will generally seek out enemies and defend itself. So if like me, you like to play games during dinner or snacking, this game is great, because it auto-plays itself :)

The story is typical, the AI is fairly well developed. The enemies are unique and bosses are big and scary. weapons are fairly cool. Lots of unique goodies. The average swords and bows, but there's also a chain-gun and flame-thrower, so you know, it's definitely pushing the boundaries of sword and shield fantasy.

I'm running a fairly decent gaming rig with Windows Vista, and despite the warnings of incompatibility, I was able to install and NO-CD patch the game and it plays flawlessly.

Definitely worth my money.'

This is a top quality projector- The picture is outstanding, the sound is impressive, it's user-friendly and the software basically paves the way for ya. I am So thrilled to have found a projector this fantastic for a reasonable price. I would recommend this projector to anyone for personal use, dj's doing screens for shows, schools.... it's wonderful.

Do your due diligence before ordering this projector. I had placed an order for this machine and afterward began searching the web to see where I could get a spare replacement lamp for this model. I called Pyle Audio (who supposedly distributes this projector and only got a recorded message stating they were closed and to leave a voice message for customer support which I did not waste the time doing. I emailed their sales department asking where to get a spare/replacement bulb for this unit and finally got an answer almost a week later stating that they did not know. What?! But I had already cancelled the order with Amazon for the projector which I was actually looking forward to using.

The three "Five Star reviews" for this projector are nullified, in my opinion, based on the fact that there is virtually no aftermarket support for this machine. It makes no sense to purchase a projector which can only be used for 5-6000 hours and then retired because a replacement lamp can't be found. Stay away from this projector despite the rave reviews. Pyle Audio needs to get their act together. For a company who has allegedly been in business 40 years I am relatively unimpressed.

I read all the reviews and was skeptical that I could really get a high-end projector for the low price. The other customers that purchased this particular projector appeared to be happy based on the reviews that I read. Looks really sharp, fantastic picture and sound. You won't regret the purchase. I'm sure I'll own this for a long long time, thanks for a fine product and great service. - Home Theater - 1080p Projector - Dlp Projector - Optoma'
