Household Cleaners - scrubber, bathroom

This is my first cleaning type 'power tool'. I purchased it at Walgreens for $13. It is slightly awesome. It is way powerful, and fully changed the color of my grout and made my counter tile sparkle. Happiness! I also bought the companion spray. So it worked great on my tiled counter top, but sadly couldn't cure what ails my floor. The grout looked white but the tiles are too far gone for anything to save them. I even double cleaned the tile with some bleach product and it didn't help.

Only cons on this would be my hand starting to hurt from the powerful vibrations. I just switched hands and took a break. The other con would be that it is too small to do large areas. I wish this little guy had a bigger brother and/or a larger stiff bristle attachement so that I could tackle the whole floor (just did a test spot before) and the bathtub tile. Sadly, I am surrounded by 40 year old tile and grout.

I would definately recommend this to a friend and will keep looking for a larger attachment or big brother version. SonicScrubbers HT Scrubbing Bubbles Power Household Cleaning Tool and Brushes

I just used the scrubbing bubbles sonic scrubber in my bathroom. I used it to clean the grout in between the tiles. It worked okay though I was not impressed with it and I doubt I will buy new batteries for it and use it regularly. Scrubbing Bubbles HT Sonic Scrubbers Battery Powered Household Power Cleaning Tool #HT

I purchased this product at Fry's and saw that it advertised a wide range of uses. I have been looking for something to help me with housecleaning because we all know it's one of those things in life that has to be done. Although I haven't had much time to use the scrubber I think it's handy.

Here is what the packaging had to say:

* Kitchen: Coffee pots, pans, dishes, stovetop, microwave, fridge, grout, sink, grill and small appliances.

* Bathroom: Grout, shower head, tile, sink, toilet hinges, tub, under toilet bowl lip, baseboards and countertops.

* Household: Baseboards, floor grout, window sills, shoes & boots, toys, laundry stains and floor/furniture spills.

My Likes:

* Worked well on dishes, especially glass

* Stove got cleaned off well, did not scratch metal/paint

* Worked well on the toilet, especially under the toilet bowl lip and the base of the toilet

* The product comes with stickers for you to put on the brush for which room it should be used in

My Dislikes:

* When I started to use the scrubber on my kitchen tile it immediately began to pull out grout. Fortunately I stopped before it did anymore damage. We had our entire kitchen & living room tiled in May 2010 by a professional flooring company so we know it was quality work. The instruction guide says "do not use on loose grout or weak grout." Unfortunately that part is user-beware.

My Recommendations:

* Okay to use on dishes and general kitchen cleaning.

* Okay to use on toilet and general bathroom cleaning.

* DO NOT USE ON YOUR TILE. It isn't even worth chancing that you could end up with your grout being messed up.

I bought this and used it in the bathroom to scrub a really big shower.

It works really well, if it had more power it would be too heavy and this product is super light.

I only got two full thorough bathroom cleanings before I needed to replace the batteries but I really don't mind because the use of the sonic power scrubber made this chore so much easier. (I may have scrubbed an extra long time because it of the ease). I ended up giving it to my mother, who is frail and weak, after realizing that she needed one more then me and thinking I can purchase another. I got the extra brush head attachments that has the larger brush heads and I recommend those and wish they all came together. After using this I do want the extension handle as well because to clean the shower was a lot of lunges that I would rather do out in clean air, not trapped in the shower with cleaning chemicals. The vibrations do bother your hand after a while but the trade off is worth it.

I looked at the packages side by side of sonic scrubber brand brush heads and scrubbing bubbles sonicscrubbers brush heads and they appear exactly the same. I couldn't take them out of the package to try it to be certain but they looked exactly the same. - Household Cleaners - Power Tool - Scrubber - Bathroom'

Art Supply Set - art supplies, oil paint

This paint kit would be excellent for someone who is just learning to paint. It has a slew of different media and brushes. I guess I don't need to list it all. I also like that the easel is built in. I did buy new brushes. The ones that come with the set are crappy. I found that the bristles on all of them are too long and too difficult to control if you're trying to make narrow, short lines. Royal & Langnickel 104-Piece All Media Easel Artist Set

This set is nice but in my opinion not worth the price, the paints are good but the box is pretty flimsy and the brushes are not very good. when i got it one of the oil paints had been punctured and paint got on the inside of the box and on some of the other paints and the pallet, it sounds like a lot but it wasn't really THAT much paint, just enough to be annoying and dissapointing, especially because the set was a christmas gift for my wife. I must say though that besides all that she does have a lot of fun with this and has painted many cute pictures to hang in our new babies room. I would recomend looking for a different paint set if i were you, or at least if you could find this one for a much lower price.

It's a good introduction set to painting with oils, acrylics and water colors. Just what I wanted since I am just starting out. It gives you a good variety of media to experiment with. You soon realized that if you are going to do quality work you need an few more supplies. (I am going with acrylics)

I added:

One Stroke Painting INT1059 Folk Art Value Brush Pack (Amazon)

Stainless Steel Painting Knife - Pallet Knife 5-Piece Set (Amazon)

and a couple more things like gesso, Matte Finish Spray and larger

tube of white (Amazon)

In the end the nicest part of this set will be the wooden box. It is very nicely made with dovetailed joints, drawers for storage and good hardware (flip latches) and sturdy leather handle. I will have a convenient place to store all my supplies and I can take them anywhere should I decide to work outside or on location. I love it. The box is classy and convenient.

"THIS IS NOT A TOY" - I DON'T KNOW WHY AMAZON CONSIDERS THIS A TOY

I purchased this for my step-daughter for christmas. She's an artist in training and she really loves this case/easel. Although the paints are not top of the line, they are quite good for what this is. The wood on the box isn't terribly strong so you will want to treat this with love. But over all, this case is very much worth the cost.

I would certainly recommend this for a young artist that is just learning or someone with not a lot of experience. The variety makes it very easy for the artist to decide with media they like working with best -but this would lead them to buy a better quality set.

I got this set as a gift, and it's a lot of fun, but to be honest I prefer a higher quality of oil pastels and watercolor pencils & paints. I could go on and on about all the little things wrong with each media, but I'll save the space. - Art Supplies - Art - Art Kit - Oil Paint'

Rotary Tool Accessories

For the price this kit is an amazing deal! I bought it figuring the case it came in would be next to useless, but I took a chance on the bits being all there and in good condition. I was pleasantly surprised, the case seemed sturdy, the little dividers in the front were loose, and the pieces were displaced, but it was nothing a little glue couldn't fix, and displacement of small parts is to be expected for something that gets shipped half way across the US.

If you're looking for a good set of rotary tools for a great price and don't really mind a little gluing/rearranging this is a great price.

The only thing I would be aware of is if you're looking to give this as a gift you might want to open it up and fix it first before giving it for presentation purposes. Despite this I'm giving it five stars for the great price/accessories. 228 pc. Rotary Tool Accessories Set w/ Wooden Case

If you are looking for good rotary tool bits these are nice and at a very good price, however if you are also interested in the box be prepared to do some repairs to the tool holders and dividers inside. The one I recieved they were not correctly glued in place the holes for the tools were not drilled very good or in line. to fix I had to clean up the drilled holes and re-glue the tool holders and dividers back in place. The outer box is nice though and was in good condition.

The box and the separating compartments were actually intact when I received this in the mail, which came as quite a surprise to me, considering the other reviews. However, what they say about these being fully functional bits is true in that there's more here than most could hope to burn through assuming they knew what they were doing with a rotary tool. Great value if you dont want to pay for name brand bits that'd get worn out quickly with heavy usage.

The box I recieved is about 1 1/2 times wider than the illustration, with more tools and accessories. More, but basically the same variety. Specifically there are 40 "tools" (corresponding to the top two rows). The photo shows two brass wire brushes. In fact the kit comes with NO brass wire brushes, but comes with 3 nylon brushes and 3 steel brushes. I would have prefered more and better brushes.

The remaining 188 "accessories" are mostly unmounted cutting disks, sanding disks, sanding drums, grinding wheels, and polishing wheels. Indeed, two sections (on the bottom row) are filled with cutting disks. Three sections are filled with polishing wheels. In addition there is one container of sanding disks, one section of sanding drums, one section of unmounted grinding wheels, and one container of polishing compound.

The box I recieved was entirely intact. Nothing broken, and all but a few unmounted grinding wheels were in their place.

Realistically, there are few tools I did not still have from my old Dremel kit. But what I use most (and was out of) was cutting disk, sanding disks, and sanding drums. The set is a bargain just for those.

Note however, that the sanding disks are small and NOT self-adhesive, and correspondingly there is no tool to hold self-adhesive sanding disks. If you've been spoiled by dremel diamond cutting disks, you may be disappointed by the "ordinary" cutting disks in the kit.

This is a very nice set of accessories for Dremel-like rotary tools. There are enough different tools here to satisfy most any hobbyist's needs. It's great to have all of these different bits in a handy storage box, but I would have liked to have a "Whitman's Sampler"-like diagram defining each bit (composition and grit of the sanding and grinding bits, etc.) My box arrived in perfect condition with all pieces intact, so no complaints on that end. This set is well worth the price even if it didn't include the storage box. If you own a Dremel, or similar rotary tool, you really can't go wrong by purchasing this set.

the pieces are held in by plastic pieces and they might have to be glued in but over all it's a great set for the price. If you're buying it for the box then shop for boxes and not rotary tool sets. I'm only rating it 4/5 cause I think I'm missing 2 cutting discs. It really does have everything you would need to do just about anything.

The case is garbage, but even if all the accessories arrived in a plastic bag,it's still a good deal. Once you finish off sanding and reassembling everything, the case functions OK. The amount of stuff you get is well worth the price.'

Pneumatic Nailer - b000f3i5zy, tools

I'm a small volume custom home builder with a crew of five. We install the hardwood flooring on most of our jobs. We have used a manual powernailer for years. Recently I purchased Bostitch's MIIIFN floor nailer and now have moved our manual nailer to the back of the tool bin. Just a light tap is all that is required to fire the nail. In the event the board is slightly bowed feel free to swing away and hammer the board in place. This tool is easy on my carpal tunnel and for those who aren't ambidexterious it's a snap to use with either hand. It does take some time getting used to dragging the air hose around with you, and you definitely need ear protection. But the benefits far outweigh these nuisances. Bostitch MIIIFN 1-1/2- to 2-Inch Pneumatic Flooring Nailer

I had a difficult time deciding which nailer to buy. Should I get the 2" stapler or one of the many cleat nailers out there? I called my hardwood flooring company (BR-111) and was advise that they do not recomend the flooring stapler as the tongues may break while stapling. I ordered the Bostitch floor cleat nailer to install my solid Brazilian Cherry Hardwood flooring. I found out that Brazilian Cherry is the 4th hardest hardwoods availabe. Brazilian walnut is the hardest. I also found out that Brazilian Cherry is almost double as hard as the hardest american oaks. I received my nailer and started nailing down the floor. I set my compressor at 85 psi and nevet touched it again. I installed almost 700 feet of hardwood and the nailer worked perfect. I love my nailer but have to mention that with its size you have to face nail everything within 8" from the wall as the tool is to wide to actuate the striking mechanism. All-in-all this is the tool to buy if you have any doubts. Buy the nails from home depot as their about $7.00 cheaper that online.

I was able to install 160 square feet of a 900 square foot flooring job before my nailer broke. Stanley considers this broken part "normal wear", and Amazon will not take back opened merchandise. Just a heads up to contractors who may worry about buying tools online- don't do it. My regular supplier would have given me a new nailer no questions asked.

This tool makes laying a hardwood floor almost fun. If you are laying a prefinished floor, I would also recommend the optional foot (MIIIFOOT). I don't see that this is available on Amazon. I purchased mine on eBay. Also, some of the reviews on this item are for the MIIIFS, which is a floor stapler, not a nailer. According to some sources, there are less problems with the wood splitting with the nailer. There seems to be a hot market for these tools on eBay. I plan to resell mine when I am finished with it.

We bought this nailer to install 1800sqft of hardwoods in our house. Here's our experience:

Pros:

Beefy. You can tell it's made for the pros. And you can smack it hard to help get warped boards tight.

It does exactly what it's supposed to.

The included mallet feels like high quality, and its just the right weight.

Cons:

We had a lot of problems with the nailer allowing the last nail in a stack to fall out of the nailer. This is a problem because it can fall half way out, then when you put the nailer down on the finished floor, it's easy for the sharp nail to scratch the finish. Get in the habit of setting the nailer on the unfinished part of the floor.

The nailer includes a plastic shoe that bolts to the underside. The instructions say this is for finished floors whereas the normal plate is for unfinished (site finished) floors. The shoe was useless for us. It made it nearly impossible to line up the nailer with the tongue. The normal plate didn't scratch the floor at all. So we used it that way. Maybe softer woods would have scratched (we used distressed oak).

Having to attach the handle was annoying. It also seems like a clunky afterthought. But once installed, it worked fine.

If you don't smack it with a hammer hard enough, it won't drive the nail in all the way in. If it's half way out, you can use channel lock pliers to pry the nail out. But if you get it 90% of the way in, you'll have to use a nail set to drive the nail in the rest of the way so that the next board fits. This is a real pain. The nail metal is soft. It likes to deform or break off. This is more operator error than anything else. So smack it hard.

How it could be better:

Stop letting the last nail fall out.

Make the nail cartridge slightly longer so you can put the next stack of nails in sooner.

Redesign the handle.

What we learned:

For wood floors, wider is better. 5" wide boards mean half the cutting, fitting, and nailing compared to 2.5" wide boards.

Also pick up a finish nailer to help when you're close to walls. If you take the rubber guard off, a finish nailer can nail through the tongue just like this nailer. Less face nailing.

Being an owner & user of Bostitch air tools for 15+ years, my expectations were high when I ordered this tool. Once again, Bostitch has not let me down. This tool is great, easy to use and will undoubtly last a long time. I would reccomend purchasing the finished flooring foot if you are going to use this tool on pre-finished flooring.

I love power tools. This is a very nice one. It really cuts down on the effort expended to nail hardwood flooring. Even so , I prefer the manually actuated nailers from porta nailer and power nailer. They seem to be able to get the flooring tighter. You can really slam them hard with those heavy mallets. This is useful especially with bowed boards. Porta nailers even have a rachet mechanism that will not return until the nail is completely driven. So if you have to hit it more than once (not very often), you can. You can go faster with them . They also give you a better work out. - B000f3i5zy - Tools - Hardwood Flooring Nailer - Bostitch'

Processors In A Box Pibs - am3, quad core

NOTICE: In fact, This is the old version of the 955, not the new version as Amazon claims. The new version is here AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2 GHz 4x512 KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor - Retail HDZ955WFGBMBOX and it's more than $100 cheaper, just google for "HDZ955WFGBMBOX" and you will see the difference. The M in the model "GBMBOX" marks the difference between the C2 revision of this processor (the GIBOX) and the C3 revision (the GBMBOX). The reason Amazon has the wrong listing is because AMD did mislabel the two processors at first, but later corrected the error on their website, but Amazon didn't update theirs. The new revision mainly brings some minor tweaks, but paying an extra $100 for the old version is simply ridiculous.

---

A lot of reviews online are written by computer hardware enthusiasts. Think of it as asking a person who testdrives Ferrari's for a living for advice when you want to buy a car for your everyday commuting needs, and she will probably start telling you how bad Toyota Prius is without paying attention to cost or your needs. In the world of processors, this is a very good BMW that you manage to buy at a very cheap price.

I don't play high-end games at full resolution on a 55 inch plasma tv, and neither do I have liquid nitrogen around to cool my processor down. It's not that this Phenom can't do that, but we're not really going to drive this BMW *ahem* Phenom at 500 miles down the highway, so an average person doesn't need an intel i7, especially that i7's, despite being more powerful, are far more expensive. Also keep in mind that an i7 requires triple channel memory and an expensive motherboard. My memory usage, when I have many programs open, never goes above 2GB, but it's not a bad idea to invest in a 4GB memory right now as applications are becoming more memory hungry by the day.

I have been using my old desktop for 7 years, and it served me well for that time. However, I mainly use my computer for multimedia and some minor programming. So, I needed a processor that was going to let me easily view and edit those huge images from my digital camera, let me play music while doing that, and let me keep multiple youtube tabs open, chat, use a modern browser, and that won't keep me waiting for minutes or even seconds for applications to launch, this processor has surpassed all of my expectations, and it helped me save a couple of hundred of dollars while building my new computer, which is always a great thing. I am a student and that's why money is always an issue, but I am sure that normal hard-working people also appreciate saving some of their hard-earned money.

To further demonstrate what I mean, let's consider an average desktop computer, a random pick would be the HP TouchSmart 600-1055, by looking at the specifications we can see that it comes with a 2.13 GHz dual core processor - two cores, and it has a price tag of more than a thousand dollars. You can put together a computer using this 3.2 GHz Phenom II X4 - four cores - for about $650, and this includes a very good full HD monitor. This shows how overrated most numbers are, but it's not a bad idea to invest in this AMD processor right now even if you're not going to harness its full power through your everyday use, which is to have a future-proof computer, as two or three years from now programs and new operating systems may call for four cores at such high speeds. Again, I will use that BMW analogy, what's the use of buying an expensive Ferrari - intel i7 - when there are no highways where you can drive at 250 mph. Buying a BMW will provide you will all the comfort of a family-friendly sedan, and the ability to safely drive at 150mph per hour if speed limits are suddenly lifted.

What are cores about? Well, my 8 years old pc had one processor - a single core, and this means that all the applications had to share that processor. Think of it as having one adult at a daycare center taking care of many little children - open applications. Four cores means that you have four small processors on this small CPU chip, each clocked at 3.2 GHz, this means that the children will get better care as there are going to be many adults around taking care of their needs. Some high-end programs have also started using more than one core in their operation to speed things up, and this trend is very likely to continue with AMD and intel mentioning more cores as a part of their plans for future processors. HP TouchSmart 600-1055's processor only has two adults around, while this Phenom has four adults waiting to tend to the needs of all the children - waiting to serve your applications, they will even share the workload at times.

Personally, I never saw my cpu usage rise above 10%-15% with this processor. This means that Opera 10 web browser with 20-40 open tabs, all the applications running in the background, watching high definition movies, and a couple of open chat windows in addition to a music player playing all of my music collection. It handles everything well and nothing ever slows down, which is what I expect from a fine processor like this.

As for the installation, it was very easy. The box contains the processor, a user manual + warranty, and a CPU fan and heatsink. I literally installed it into my motherboard's AM3 socket in two minutes, and I haven't put a computer together for any of my friends for more than 3 years. Even the heatsink didn't take any time to be properly aligned and working. What's more, it's the first time ever for me to assemble an AMD computer. So, it was not an issue. It made the somewhat scary task of assembling a computer less scary.

As for performance, I can not keep up with my computer. Everything is almost instantaneous. What more can I ask for from a computer processor?

Windows 7 works just fine, and so is everything else. Really, this is the perfect processor. If you're considering a new computer, get one of those, and take my word on it, you won't regret it.

Notes:

- Phenom II X4 955 and Phenom II X4 965, what's the difference?

I don't think that there's any real difference between the 140W 965 available at Amazon at the time of writing and this processor. This processor can be overclocked - i.e. made to run faster - to run at 3.4 GHz just like the 965. The 965 available here consumes more power - 140W, and is more expensive at the time of writing. The difference is $25, but I still prefer this 125W Phenom. If you find a 125W Phenom II X4 965, don't mind paying a little extra, and don't plan to overclock, then get the 965, if not then get this. The 200Mhz aren't really going to make that much difference.

- What about the intel i5?

The i5 is a really good processor, but putting a system together with an i5 costs a lot of money even though it's only priced at $200. The reason is that a good motherboard for the i5 will really be expensive. I did consider buying an i5 - this is my first time using an AMD processor, but then I figured out that it's really not worth it. Both almost are the same. AMD also remain faithful to their sockets, which means that I am highly likely to be able to use the same motherboard 2-3 years from now for a new AMD processor.

- What about the new X6 Phenom? Isn't it better?

As someone who actually fell in love with this processor, I feel strange recommending another processor for you to buy. It all depends on your budget. If you have an extra $40 to spare and won't overclock, then definitely get the new non-black edition of the X6 processor. That's what I'd have done if I had the time back then. If you plan to overclock then you probably don't need my opinion on this. The extra cores will always come in handy in the future.

- What about the Phenom II X3 720?

The X3 720 is a great processor with three functional cores and a fourth core that can be unlocked. However, the fourth core may be unstable and the price difference is only $35. As more applications use more cores, this extra core of the X4 will start making a real difference.

- What about the sockets: AM3, AM2+, AM2?

The socket is the place on the motherboard where you put your processor. As time went by, AMD's new processors started using new sockets, but they still remained backward-compatible. This means that this AM3 processor will work on older AM2+ and AM2 motherboards. If you're using an AMD computer and are wondering whether you will need a new motherboard or not, just remove the side panel of your case, write down the name and the model of your motherboard, and then use google to find the specifications of your motherboard and check whether it has an AM2+ socket or not. You will probably need to download and install a BIOS update in order for your motherboard to use this AM3 processor. Remember that you should buy DDR2 ram if you will use a motherboard that doesn't have an AM3 socket.

Maintenance:

The heatsink that comes with the unit is more than adequate if you don't plan to overclock. However, after a while you will find that your core temperatures will start soaring, that's due to dust build up. I looked online and it seems that many people said that you can't take the heatsink apart in order to clean it. Actually, you can. There are four small clips holding the small AMD fan in there - without you having to release the heatsink and apply a new layer of thermal paste, once you release those four clips the fan will come off and you will have access to radiator-like blades where there will be a lot of dust. Removing that dust using a compressed air spray brought my temperatures down by 5 C. Ipod Accessory - ipod accessory, amps

If headphones are your primary listening mode, you need a headphone amp. I use a NuForce UDAC-2HP for computer sound. I purchased the Fiio E9 to connect to my main stereo. I'm not going to use the docking port to install a Fiio E7 USB DAC/AMP or an iPod.

The E9 is relatively small, but I wouldn't term it "lightweight" for its size. It's solidly built, with a black anodized finish.

Using a 3.5mm stereo male plug to RCA left/right male plugs adapter, I ran the output of the tape monitor of my integrated amp into the E9. The 3.5mm stereo plug goes into the E9's "Line In" socket and the RCA plugs into the integrated amp. Plug in the wall wart power supply and your headphones and that's it--just turn it on. I've experienced no issues with a "scratchy" sound from the volume pot, which might be related to the docking port. The volume pot is smooth and the E9 has a silent backdrop.

What you will get is more snap and punch, faster attack, and more harmonic layering. Initially it might seem there's less bass, until you realize that there's plenty of deep, clean bass--it's not bloated muck caused by an inexpensive headphone circuit. I've used the E9 with Beyerdynamic DT990 Premium 250 Ohm phones and the Denon AHD2000, and had good results with both. There is a gain switch, so experiment with the setting that's best. The E9 can produce all the volume you'll ever want.

At the E9's price, it can't be a state-of-the-art headphone amp, but it is an excellent piece of electronics that will be a major upgrade of your listening experience. It might be all you need.

Update 3/23/2011: I've used the Fiio E9 for 3 months with a variety of headphones, including the Ultrasone PRO 750, and I'm still impressed. I've looked at headphone amps costing significantly more, and the Fiio E9 remains a superb value equal to more costly amps. Like another reviewer, I would have preferred RCA inputs instead of a 3.5mm "Line In," but with a solid RCA to 3.5mm adapter (like the Monster CableLinks), you can use high quality interconnects. Audio products at this price point always have trade-offs, but Fiio did a stellar job with the E9. FiiO E9 Desktop Headphone Amplifier and Dock for E7 USB DAC

I have had a portable amp (headbit) ever since I purchased a pair of Sennheiser HD 650s a couple years ago. I have been shopping for a desktop amp ever since but could not pull the trigger as every amp I tried for under $300, either distorted the sound from the headphones or it did not have enough power to drive them. There were a few amps I really liked in the $300-1000 dollar range but had difficulty in justifying spending that kind of money. I already own an E5 amp and use it when traveling to add some power for my Senn HD590's. I was impressed with that little guy that cost me $22 and nearly sounds as good as the bithead with the 590's (the E5 does not come close to driving the 650's properly and now that I have the E9 neither does the bithead portable) so I put the E9 on my wishlist for the holidays and Santa delivered it on Christmas morning.

This amp is fantastic and rivals a couple of the $500 desktops I have auditioned in the past. Good clean and natural sounding with plenty of power to spare. The sound is fantastic, a big step up from the bithead(portable) from a music detail and power standpoint. Am re-enjoying my entire music library.

If you have some hard to drive headphones, and like me could not justify spending $500 for a decent desktop amp, the E9 is for you. For the amazon price tag of $129, you really cannot go wrong here. This is one of the best bang for the buck items I have owned in the past couple years.

No sense gushing over this amp, it's already been done. I can think of very few headphones this amp won't drive nicely and shine with. If you're buying any of those cans, you probably aren't buying this amp. My headphones all sound great through it. A great feature is the smaller of the two jacks has extra resistance built in, allowing more volume control.

It's built well, and dead silent. AKG 7xx series and the Sennheiser line (any of them) will have enough juice from this amp.

The HD 650 and 600 both sound stellar on the amp. A new standard in desktop amps under 400 dollars has been achieved. I actually decided I prefer it sans the Fiio E7, I just use a dac line out to connect it. I don't care for the look of the E7 sticking out of the top.

I don't think you lose much fidelity if you use the E7, it still sounds good, but a better dac, makes a small difference, The music streamer plus turns this amp into something you'de have to cough up much more to get a meaningful difference in sound, and it would be pretty subtle. I urge you to take the plunge, that power left in reserve really make a difference. It has a two position gain switch, the low setting should be plenty for just about any set of cans though.

The single best headphone amp purchaes I have ever made. price taken into account) I LOVE IT !!!! Does not sound bright, or boomy, very neutral. 5 stars and more. Take the plunge and hear the difference.

Hooked up an even better dac to this amp, and immediately ordered another one. Hooked up to an 800 dollar DAC, it is almost impossible to hear the difference on this modest cost amp, from a 1200 dollar amp. WOW ! It is better than I thought. My Vincent Audio amp has more power, and is a bit more refined, but on most recordings, you can't hear a difference. It takes the very finest of recording to distinguish the difference. I can't even say for sure (other than soundstage) that you could do much better. Using the E7 is fine, but that setup won't get the best this amp has to offer!

`

Bought this to drive a pair of 600 ohm Beyerdynamic DT-990s.I'm a basshead. But I like balanced sound, not bass heavy sound. My home theater has biamped Polk RTi-12s and a 650w Klipsch sub. I crave bass.I wont EQ a bass deficient recording, but a recording that has bass had better make the walls shake. And do it without boominess, or excessive volume.

So that's my sound preferences. I had hooked the Beyers to the HT receiver and they sounded good but I had to really crank the receiver's volume to get decent full sound. Now they sound as good or better than the Polks and Klipsch. The sound is rich and full and frankly, incredible.

One minor nitpick. There is a hi-lo gain switch on the back. Mine is obviously set on hi. I like hearing the sounds between the notes and this does it for me. Bach is as powerful and breaktaking as it should be, and in a bad live performance I can hear details that rival a high powered home theater.

I have to say this is the first time I've had a headphone experience that didn't leave me wishing i could just crank the speakers instead.

This being my first headphone amp I have nothing to compare it to but for the money it's a no brainer (I paid extra for fast shipping too).Like everyone else said, the appearance is great. - Fiio - Ipod Accessory - Headphone Amp - Amps'

Light Switch Extender - toddler, light switch extender

I bought these so my 3 year old could turn the bathroom light on by himself. We couldn't use the bottom screws because then the light switch wouldn't move. I'm not sure if it's just my switches or not. Once we took off the bottom set it works good enough. It will swing around a bit but he can still turn the lights on/off on his own which he likes. I'd buy more of them if needed. Kidswitch Light Switch Extender- 3 Pack

These light switch extenders are WONDERFUL!! Easy to put on and makes life easier for us around the house being my 3 year old can turn on the lights herself! I would recommend them for anyone with little ones in their homes!

My son was SO happy when we installed these. We put on in his room, his bathroom, and his playroom and its like his confidence grew tenfold. He loves using them and when we follow him into a room he says, "Wait, let me turn on the light!!" They are SUPER easy to install and just wonderful!!!

I bought this for my 4 year old to put in his room and the bathroom. Before these, I'd have to stop whatever I was doing to go turn on/off the light for him everytime he needed to go to the bathroom. It's nice to be able to finish cooking dinner or whatever knowing he can turn the light on and off himself. Completely recommend this product, it's lasted for several months with my two toddler boys and thru multiple playgroups. The three pack is also cheaper than the singles that I've seen in magazines elsewhere.

These switch-extensions work VERY well. They came with the requisite screws to attach over your existing switch-plate. It took no more than two minutes to install. The glow-in-the-dark feature is great for the little ones.

We have a 2yo who is potty training. She's at the point she can go on her own, but she's not tall enough to reach the light switches. It's very frustrating for a busy Mommy. I ordered the three pack so that I can install them in the kids' rooms as well (it's cheaper to order a 3 pack than 1 by itself).

I opened the box and immediately my DD wanted to play with them. We broke out the handy dandy screwdriver and set up shop in the bathroom. I got to work, taking out the screws from the plate, and WITHOUT READING THE INSTRUCTIONS, installing the Kidswitch. Hmmm...it's funny I can't tighten it very tight and it seemed very flimsy. I shrug it off and move on to the kids' rooms. I install them in both rooms and those fit remarkably better. My DD tested them for me rather well and was very please with the ability to help me turn the lights on when prompted.

So I went back to the bathroom to see what went wrong as I had an idea as I was installing the last Kidswitch. And sure enough I had installed the Kidswitch backwards in the bathroom. Doh! So I unscrewed it, flipped the switch around and poof, it works like magic. I read a few of the reviews on Amazon prior to purchasing and I truly think that there are a few that probably made the same mistake I did. Just make sure you're installing the screws into the side that has the recess on it.

Long story short, AWESOME PRODUCT and works very well when INSTALLED PROPERLY. I will definitely recommend these to my friends and family.

My son is short and can't reach the light switch. I kept forgetting to purchase these as it wasn't quite on my "to get" list since someone usually just turns the light on for him. Well, one day my son was jumping up to reach the switch and there was a very small sharp object under the switch that couldn't be seen because it was painted over. He jumped up, and cut his arm a good 3 inches in length and ran to me screaming and bleeding. He told me what happened, and after cleaning his arm I immediately got on Amazon and purchased the extenders. It arrived the next day! I was so glad it shipped so fast as I couldn't find this item or any thing like it in stores. I installed it in the three rooms he would need access to the most and it works wonderfully for him! He's confident in turning on the light by himself, and I don't have to worry about him getting hurt. It's a win-win for us both! Excellent product just wished I purchased it sooner. It does glow in the dark but only after it has been exposed to light. It's definitely worth the price I paid for it because it will be on our switches for another couple years till my youngest can reach the switch herself.

Durable:Yes - Educational: Maybe. If you consider I should have bought this sooner than later to learn a lesson. Fun: For my children it is. They take great pleasure in me telling them to stop playing with the light switch.

A very simple a solution to a problem all parents have w/ toddlers. I would highly recommended this product for anyone busy w/ something in the kitchen, but has a child that needs to light switched on. - Toddler - Light Switch Extender - Preschoolers'

Rca Splitter - electronics, rca

These work if you need to send your audio to more than one device (I put the piggyback side to my output on the tv and then the other side to my surround sound and then another separate cord into the piggy back and then into my recorder so that both the recorder and surround sound get the audio signal). They work perfectly for my purposes. RCA AH96PBN 6 feet Piggyback Stereo Audio Cable

Products like these are why I love Amazon. I needed to make a pair of wireless headphones work with both my cable box and a Roku player, I hoped to find something exactly like this. Took 5 minutes and they work greet. The price was perfect too!

Highly recommended.

These were ordered to carry sound from my cable provider DVR to my surround sound as there was only one sound connection on the DVR which had to go to the TV, of course. They worked perfectly for this purpose and I did not notice any difference in sound level or quality.

I purchased this cable to solve certain issues with our home entertainment system setup. In particular, we wanted to have an option to watch TV using headphones, and the only way to do that was to run audio through the stereo amp. The only way to really accomplish this was to run cables from the various source devices (satellite receiver, DVD player, Wii console, etc.) to BOTH the TV and the stereo amp.

Obviously, not easy to do, although this cable solves the issue perfectly.

Although I expected some degradation of sound quality, I didn't notice much, if any.

I have a great stereo providing my audio for my TV. Unfortunately the stereo only has one audio in, so to plug in an iPod or any other device, I'd have to plug it into the back of my TV to hear it. With a plasma, this isn't something I wanted to do.

This RCA Piggyback connects my TV to the stereo, while providing a second set of audio in connections. My iPod sounds great and the TV still sounds great.

It's been an inexpensive solution that doesn't involve plugging another device into the wall or taking up too much space. - Electronics - Rca - Rca Splitter - Audio Splitter'

Denim Leggings - jeggings, skinny jeans

these pants are pretty comfortable. i like how they don't look like your typical dickies pants. when it said skinny i thought the ankle part was going to be skinny as well, but they're actually pretty wide more like straight style. but the thighs part are skinny, so that's good. Dickies Girl Juniors' Skinny 5-Pocket Pant,Black,5

Should be called super-skinny pants. I recommend you purchase these pants about a size or two larger than what you'd normally wear. The pants are stretchy and really hug the leg. Really nice pants though. Will return for a larger size.

Sooo, I bought now three pairs of these pants because the first time I saw them I was so excited because my work is very specific about their pants and if they look like jeans at all they write them off as jeans and you can't wear them. So, I bought the black pair and the khaki pair in a size 9 (my normal size) and when I got them they did not fit me whatsoever. So, I ordered a size 11, and I mean I could button them, but my butt looks SO smooshed. I don't have that much of a butt, but I mean it isn't flat and these pants just makes it look horrible and I'm rather upset. Also, I'm 5'8 and i thought that these pants would probably be long enough for me, and oddly the size 9's were, but the 11's are a tad short. I don't think these pants are meant for rather tall girls with any kind of a butt.

I was going to be ignorant and not listen to the previous reviewers...but good thing I did because I ordered a size up and it fit perfectly on me! Beside the fact that the waist is a little big and the pant legs are a bit on the long side (but nothing like a belt and hemming it up couldn't fix, right?)

I purchased this for work and I am satisfied! Either order a size up or 2 sizes up. I'm saying this because my legs are skinny chopsticks... and my exact size (0) would probably be too tight for me.

I am a size 0-1. After reading reviews off of here, I decided to go to a larger size. I ordered a size 3 and they are still VERY tight! I'm still able to wear them comfortably, but they are for work and may look inappropriate.

Other than that, VERY FAST SHIPPING! Very pleased with that part.

I love these pants I want like 5 pair. I looked over the reviews so I got a size larger than I normally wear. I usually wear a size 7 or 8, so I got a 9. They are a bit tight around the thighs right below the zipper area. I'm 5'5 130 so after just a few tugs they fit great and a belt is handy to keep them from moving. Also not drying them is a good idea as well if you do not want them to shrink. Other than that, I'm buying another pair. :) - Denim Leggings - Skinny Jeans - Jeggings - Denim'

Camera Accessory - lens cap strap, lens accessories

The Canon Powershot SX10IS 10MP Digital Camera with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom I recently purchased has at least two minor design flaws. First, the lens cap isn't attached to the camera. This would be less of a problem if, second, the little doobies - that's the technical term - on the sides of the cap that one finger-squeezes to release it from the lens were more pronounced (such as the ones on my venerable Canon-AE1 SLR), but they have an awkwardly low profile and I can see accidentally dropping the cap into the dirt on its way to my shirt pocket as I fumble to snap off a shot of those pesky UFOs that frequently hover over my house. Anyway, I can't do much about the low profile doobies or the UFOs, but I immediately went looking for a lens tether, and decided upon the BOWER CK501, which I received today.

The CK501's elastic loop fits perfectly snug around the base of the lens barrel. The 4.5 inch tether seems just the right length to me though others have considered it too short. I did note that another reviewer thought that the adhesive on the attachment button needed to be stronger, so I just made that irrelevant from the get go by using a drop of superglue; that little puppy isn't straying anywhere.

I have no reason to think the CK501 won't work out just fine. If it comes up lacking, I'll get back to you.

P.S. 9/21/09: I've now hiked down into the Grand Canyon and to remote lakes in the Rocky Mountain National Park carrying the SX10IS with the lens cap tethered by the CK501. The attachment button adhered to the cap at each of many photo ops along the way, the adhesive no doubt supplemented by that drop of superglue. In any case, the tether did its job to perfection. Without it, it's probable that I would've dropped the cap into the trail dust, a creek, or lake at some point. Bower HQACAPKPR Bower Capkeeper With Elastic

I recently lost a lens cap and wanted something to make sure it didn't happen again, so I bought this product. The cord is too short to reach on my longer lens (a 70-300mm Canon), though it fits the stock 18-55mm lens OK. But it doesn't really matter as the adhesive is so weak that it just fell off after a few days of use. This product was horrible. Do not buy it!

I treat my camera and equipment with respect and gentleness. This little gadget sounded like a great solution for not losing a lens cap, and while it lasted it worked as described. However, after only 3 photo outings, the string broke off the doohickey that sticks onto the lens cap. I was glad I could get the doohickey off without damaging the lens cap.

A wonderful concept, but poor quality.

Guess you get what you pay for!

I bought this item because my digital camera did not come with a lens keeper strap. This item fell apart within minutes of putting it on my camera. I would not buy this item, nor recommend it to anyone.

I spent more for the shipping on this item than the item itself (because it is a drop-ship item and did not qualify for free shipping). I put it on the camera & then headed out to shoot some photos. Literally the first time I removed the lens-cap from my camera, the elastic band broke that secures it to the cap. I managed to tie the remaining cord to my camera strap, so I am still using it. But the sticky-dot often falls off of the cap & I find the lens cap on the ground. Save your money! I'm thinking I may be able to drill a small hole in the cap & tie a longer string through that to my strap...could work!

Don't waste your money on this poorly-made, cheap, Chinese piece of junk. As soon as I took it out of the package and handled it, the cord ripped. The cord is very flimsy and where it is clamped to the elastic band the sharp teeth from the clamp cut into the cord.

This product will not hold up. The corny silver ring sticker also fell off within minutes, and the adhesive is very weak.

Simply put, this is another cheap, mass-produced, foreign product that is a WASTE of money.

Do yourself a favor and look for a better solution, I know I will. This a cheap product that shouldn't be on any high-end digital camera.

I bought this because I misplaced my lens cap and had to replace it. I'm not willing to pay for another lens cap, so I bought this to avoid losing it again!

It works as described. I'd say the attachment string is a bit on the short side, so if you have a really long lens, this might not work very well. - Lens Cap Strap - Lens Accessory - Lens Accessories - Lens Cap'

Chain Saws - chain saws

I bought this saw for my husband because I felt he needed a lighter weight saw since he uses one quite a bit on the farm and he isn't getting any younger. He immediately tried out the saw (he was used to a 21" cutting bar) and loeved it. To use his words"That saw cut through those trees like butter. He used it to clear fallen trees off our 375 acre farm and to do the "gin" work around our home. We had a very bad ice storm last winter and had many down trees to saw up to be moved. He loves the power and how easy it starts. He said to rate this 5 stars at least! Husqvarna 240E 16-Inch 38.2cc X-Torq 2-Cycle Gas Powered Chain Saw With Smart Start (CARB Compliant)

Mine starts easily, and cuts really well. On the other hand, getting to and tightening the chain is a hassle; it's a pretty poor design. So if you're using this model for more than just light/occasional work, it's going to be frustrating.

The first day I received this saw and used it, it cut very well and really went through thick trees with ease. However, (and I found this out when I brought the saw in for service) the chain oil pump was not working, so eventually the chain got overheated and became dull. I had to bring the saw in for service at a Husqvarna dealer and they replaced the non-functioning oil pump. I will be trying the saw again really soon.

i have used husky 36's thru 141's for 11 years. They are inexpensive, but serviceable saws that last about 2 or 3 years. My last one was nearing the end, so I bought the 240. They have a bogus chain tightening system that is more awkward than the old way using two nuts. The gas tank runs out in 25 minutes instead of the 40 minutes with the 141. It had so little power that I took it into the chain saw shop 15 miles distant to adjust the carburetor ( it is now almost impossible for a do-it-your-self-er to adjust which makes no sense to me).The shop charged $25 and it still ran like crap. I finally figured out a way to adjust it myself, but it still doesn't have the power of the 141. My recommendation is to avoid this one like the plague!

Here's my 1 hour experience with this saw, while doing some simple trimming of a crab-apple tree in my front yard

Right out of the box: Wouldn't idle at all. Even after a significant warm-up period it still died whenever I let off the trigger. This is with the correct oil/gas mix.

30 mins in: The trigger handle cracked completely through, right at the angle under where your palm would rest. At this stage I'm thinking I'll need to return the saw but still hoping that I can finish the job.

45 mins in: The pull cord seized, so I could no longer pull the cord more than an inch. Given that the saw would not idle, this effectively rendered it unusable.

Next day: Returned it and bought a similar spec'ed STIHL for the same price at my local hardware store. It not only ran with no issues, but actually cut a lot faster than the Husqvarna.

bought this item because I wanted a better product than a poulan. $280 and four gas tanks later it quit and there is now low compression. Dealer informed me that "running straight gas in it is not covered", as if I would pay good money for this item and then abuse it like that! That is how they get out of the warranty, now I know. In hindsight it may have been better to run the saw with more oil than prescribed- I would rather be changing fouled spark plugs then suffering a total loss. - Chain Saws'

Boxer Briefs - boxer briefs

They are not exactly what is pictured. These are a short leg style with stitching on both butt cheeks so they offer a different kind of feel and fit.

To me at least, there is not a roomy feeling in the front like other boxer briefs and I have to "adjust" a lot or your all bound up. Fruit of the Loom Men's 4-Pack Stripe/Solid Assorted Trunks,Assorted,Medium

I have always worn regular briefs as underwear and to sleep in. I decided to give these a try. As underwear I don't like them much as they bunch up a bit. However, I love to wear them to sleep in with nothing else on. I don'y like to wear much to bed and these are great as they are short but not quite like briefs.

I like the style. Nice material. But I don't like the 2 seams in the seat. Kinda binding. I like others with a single seam in the seat. Maybe after many wearings & washings, they'll loosen up a bit. I wouldn't buy them again.

I bought the X-Large pack and these boxer briefs are simply too brief. They're quite short and uncomfortable compared to the Hanes pack that I also bought. I'll be buying some more of the Hanes boxer briefs and using these for... I don't know. I just know that I won't be wearing them.

these are like low riders or somthing, they are very small in the groin area. They lack the boxer freedom and the compression of briefs. this is a no win situation if you like roomy undies, if you like the support you def. have that.

Lost a lot of weight and needed new briefs for the gym, so I thought I'd give these a try. Definitely the best value I could find, and they've done the job quite successfully. The leg doesn't ride up, and I rarely get that obnoxious bunching. Holds everything in place nicely and really improves my comfort at the gym.

Fruit of the Loom Men's 4-Pack Stripe/Solid Assorted Trunks,Assorted,2XLarge

If these are 2XL, then I'm John Wayne.

Or maybe ....If these are 2XL, then I'm Justin Bieber .... NOT!

If you're looking at a picture on the right showing these TRUNKs ... the bottom of each leg extend no further then the bottom of his JUNK ... if you get my drift.

The material is a weave which is just plain scratchy to me. As good as their t-shirts seem , these are the balancing force on the other end of the quality spectrum.

My main problem with these is that the material is not precisely what I'd expected. It's not pure cotton and is thinner and stretchier than cotton. On the other hand, they fit well and, now that they've had a few trips through the washing machine, have held up well in a way that cotton sometimes does not. Other reviewers have concerns about the length of the leg or the stitching on the rear, but those things didn't bother me. I'm 6'5" tall and the leg length was fine and, as opposed to pure cotton or even some with a bit or spandex, these stay in place do not ride up or bunch. I might wish that I could have had a selection of the colours and prints but one doesn't. And, when you think of it, this is "under"wear so an objection to the colour or print is purely a personal matter. - Boxer Briefs'

Kingston - usb flash drives

Benched two of these UFDs on Windows with ATTO Disk Benchmark. With 32KiB test patterns, averaged 5.17MiB/s write and 15.35 MiB/s read, increasing to peaks of 7.72 MiB/s write at 128KiB and 20.54MiB/s at 256KiB. Capless design a plus, construction seems reasonably solid, reviews elsewhere seem to indicate better-than-average to very good reliability in terms of defect rate. (My ownership is a few weeks at time of review.) Kingston Digital Inc. 16GB DataTraveler 100 Generation2 2.0 USB Flash Drive DT100G2/16GBZ - Black

The packaging on the drive says it operates at 10MBPS. It doesn't lie. Although this is good to have a constant transfer rate, it is still 10MBPS. My SanDisk Cruiser normally hits 20-30MBPS. Regardless, there are no problems transfering anything. The opening and closing of the USB dongle is a little strange; it feel like closing it may actually break it. Again, I would recommend SanDisk over this any day of the year, but whatever your preference is.

Item seemed to work okay but as I went to close it the USB connection bent and will not straighten back out. Always gotta be a bad one in the batch and I got it this time. Will not order another model designed like this, product still works but since it won't close it's not practical to keep so will be returning. Got one for a friend as a gift awhile ago and theirs is fine.

I used this to store a few ISOs and scripts needed for a server migration. As with most flash media, it's FAT32 and won't store files larger than 4GB. I'm sure you could reformat it, but I didn't care. Works good to transfer data to the PS3, too. It's seems to load fast, and worked perfectly in multiple envornments (Linux, XP, Win 7, and Server 2003 and 2008 R2).

I've always had confidence in products from Kingston. They have always performed to my complete satisfaction.

This is great device to backup of your hard drive files and also burn music to listen to while driving. That's assuming you have a USB port on your car. This amount of memory is better than carrying along dozens of CD's.

I've owned and used many, many thumb drives (flash drives, jump drives, or whatever term you would like to use). I've owned cheap ones (really cheap and free) and expensive ones (prices I would never pay but the company I worked for at the time thought it worthwhile).

I've had problems on multiple computers, with multiple types of files. Whether copying, moving, playing a file from or simply waiting on my computer to recognize that the drive has been attached - all aspects of using the Kingston Data Traveler 100 Generation 2 drive have had issues.

In summary - when my new one comes in, I will be throwing this one away.

Great price for 16GB.

I've had several kingston USB flash drives and they are fairly reliable.

The only thing wrong with it is the loop. The reason I bought a slider was to be able to keep it handy. Keeping it on a key ring broke the loop in a few days. I'd suggest getting a small lanyard for it. - Usb Flash Drives'
