Women

I ordered the stockings for spider and vericose vein support (I'm in my mid 30's) and I'm happy with the fit, quality, and shipping. Do take the step to measure the appropriate parts of your legs first before ordering. I first purchased a size large in a local store, and they just didn't seem tight enough. The size measurements are accurate for proper fit.

It did take a few weeks to get used to putting them on and wearing them, but now it's almost second nature. Severely arthritic people might have a hard time pulling them up. The amount of compression is just right. Any less would be not helpful for vericose veins. Washing is easy. I machine wash and hang to dry. After I remove them each evening, I notice that my legs aren't purple! I hope with continued use, my leg problems don't get worse. I recommend this brand. I'm very satisfied. Truform 20-30 Below Knee Closed-Toe, Beige, Medium

These stockings are great. They are worn every day to help heart function, wash and dry over night and are much more confortable than the ones over the knees. Getting them on over the foot is easy if you slide the foot against the carpet pile.

I LOVE THESE STOCKINGS! They are a bit difficult to put on with arthritic hands/wrists, but not any more so than any others of similar construction. They do the job well, are very comfortable, don't bind at the top, and are reasonably priced. The color is more "natural" skin tone for Caucasian skin. I have used less expensive versions, but they were not as good as these. Highly recommended.'

Ipod Touch Case - 4g case, cool

I thought this would be okay for my new G4 8 gig....boy was I wrong. It is not worth the shipping cost. I suppose I am to harsh. If you are planning to put this skin on and leave it in your drawer it would work just fine. However, if you want to take your touch with you, get something else. I took it golfing and the skin didn't even stay on in my pocket. If fits too loose to provide any real protection. All in all, it was very annoying and I am going to see if they will take it back. KEEP SHOPPING! 4G Touch Twin Pack Black & Clear Silicone Protective Armour Case Cover + Screen Protector Kit for New Apple iPod Touch 4th Generation - 8GB 32GB 64GB

I bought this as there wasnt much selection for the new 4G touch. The first one fell off all the time wneh you put it in your pocket and the bottom piece broke. Also it comes with a free screen protector but the first one only had one side to pull off and was defective. Easyi said they would send me a new one and refund my money if I removed my first review(which i did to give them another chance).

The replacement came and it is the same thing and will not stay on the 64 GB ipod touch. The second screen protector actually went on the touch but the holes dont line up and so it looks a little off. I know that they should but it wouldnt cover the screen properly if I lined them up correctly. They did try to help me out with the replacement and the refund but I am still not happy with the end result. I guess you get what you pay for but I will wait for something better.

I bought the clear version of this (which isn't available anymore). I put it on my new touch 4G today and walked to work. When I reached for the touch, the case was mostly off. All day today, every time I pulled the touch out of my pocket, I found the case had partially slipped off.

It doesn't seem to be a case specifically designed for the 4G touch. It rather seems like a case for the thicker 3G... the opening at the top rear seems designed to fit around that unit's wi-fi antenna. Yes, the 4G's camera and mic are where the 3G's wi-fi was, so it should work out... except that the 4G is too thin for a proper fit.

I can't believe people complain such a good product compare to the price. It comes with 2 sets of Cases and Screen protectors. The case is very soft and fits perfectly to my Ipod Touch 4, it protects the device very well, and to keeps you off the scratches from the Hard case. (the hard cases normally scratch your device easily)

The screen protector also fit nicely. However you'll notice some scratches on the surface of the protector after several days usage. What a big deal for it, it did its job to protect your device, and the minor scratches will be disappeared when you turned on your device. Don't worry about it, for such the low price, I wouldn't say anything against it. Don't spend $15 or even more on the screen protector. You won't regret to buy this combo deal.

I've only had my iPod Touch for about 2 months now, and got the black silicone protector for it, figuring it'd be all I'd need. I usually have my iPod in my back pocket, so it's safe most of the time, and isn't in much danger of falling or anything. This case did a pretty good job at first- it's comfortable, fits around the iPod perfectly, and you can access the volume and power buttons easily. The hole on the back for the camera's also the right size. That's all that really matters, right?

Cut to a few weeks ago when I noticed a couple of small tears in the casing. I never pulled at the case when taking it off, at least not in the areas the rips showed up in, and the sides of the case are suddenly loose and the iPod pops out of it every other time I take it out of my pocket. This thing's also a magnet for dust, and gets dirty easily.

For the price, it does a good job for short-term protection, but I'd only get this if you need a quick replacement case and somehow can't get a better one right then and there.

The screen protector also isn't as good as some of the others, and can be a pain to get on without any air bubbles, but when you finally get it on, it does a very good job of keeping scratches from ruining the screen. It just starts to peel at the corners a little bit over time, but with a proper case over it, this isn't a big deal.

I just got the package today, which is a day earlier than what amazon notified me, which is a plus. The screen protector isn't all that bad, if you clean the screen carefully before you put the protector on. When putting on the protector, you should be careful but quick because if the side of the protector that contacts with itouch screen catches dust or anything, it is almost impossible to remove it, which means you need to use a second screen protector. Watch out for air pockets when you putting the protector.'If you do mess up for the first time like me, it is not a problem. The package comes with 3 protectors). I suggest buyers lay the protector starting on the home button side because it is easier that way to put it right in the middle of the touch. Keep in mind that the protector will leave a gap that is about a hair thick, but that shouldn't be a problem because you have a case. Talking about the case, the black one, to be honest, sucks like help. It has a weird trashy smell, is kinda slippery, and has a huge hole on the bottom for ear phone and etc. that is so insecure. It can't really hold the touch in place. However, the white one is a lot better. It fits pretty well, has a smaller bottom, and doesn't slip off my hand like the black one does.

Overall, I don't think this is a bad purchase and don't regret buying it. I got what I wanted, and I hope this review helps.

The silicone cases fits the Ipod Touch perfectly, the screen protectors gives you an excellent cover and don't loose screen sensibility, even playing games is sensitive enough. Don't loose this oportunity and buy it, the seller ships fast and secure.- - Cool - Trash - Junk - 4g Case'

Rayovac - led, lanterns

Hi everyone, this review was copied and pasted from my blog......Yeah I know it's the lazy way, but basically the same thing I would have said here, except more detailed.

Enjoy the review!

The lantern has an orange and white plastic exterior, giving center stage to a clear acrylic light diffuser. The diffuser holds 9 led bulbs and is fully adjustable. Lifting the diffuser spreads light a full 360 degrees, while folding will cover an area of 180 degrees up to 10 feet away. Lifting the diffuser will also expose both a metal light reflector and locking battery compartment door. The door can easily be unlocked, by twisting clockwise using a straight flat headed object, such as a screwdriver or small coin. Once inside the user will notice space for 3 alkaline D cell batteries and a small secured green battery pack, located at the top left of the compartment. At the rear of the unit is a small 0.5 watt solar panel used to recharge the green battery pack. The solar cell is encased in an adjustable orange housing and uses amorphous silicon technology (great for solar efficiency in low and high light conditions). Also located around back, near the top is a 5 position switch controlling the led bulbs functions and selecting between the two power sources. The unit is pretty light weight, weighing only 1.5 lbs without the D cells, between 2 - 2.5lbs with the D cells ( depending on battery brand).

Unlike other solar lanterns I've used in the past, the energizer has a great deal of light output and tons of ingenious features to make it one of the best on the market. One feature includes the cleverness to accommodate 3 regular D cell batteries, in addition to the solar battery pack. This allows users to not have to worry about accidentally forgetting the batteries during their next camping or fishing trip. A second innovative feature is the ability to adjust the led's up or down, providing the right type of light for any application. As far as the led bulbs there are 9 total, 8 white and 1 amber. The white bulbs are located inside of twin fogged diffusers, for even light dissipation in almost infinite adjustable positions. Running at 66 lumens, the 8 white led's provide room filling light without any dark spots or light artifacts. The single amber led provides less than 5 lumens and is intended to be a used as a night light. Even though it's light output is rather faint, the amber bulb still allows users to see basic items comfortable within 2 feet of the front of the unit. Probably one of the nicest features on the lantern, is the ability to run off of either the alkaline cells or the solar battery pack. Selecting between the two sources is easy with the built in 5 way switch. The middle position is off, while the left 2 functions control the night light and high beam. The left position runs off of the solar power pack, the right providing the same functions runs off of the 3 D cell batteries. As for run times, the solar power pack provides 2.5 hours of bright illumination, 4 hours of total illumination. The 3 Alkaline cells will provide up to 165 hours of light, with around 4 days of bright light. Even though there is a slight voltage difference between the solar 3.6 volt pack and the combined 4.5 volts from the alkaline cells, light output is near the same.

I will be the first to admit that I am not really a devoted camping / outdoors person, so the energizers uses will come in handy mostly when I'm at home. For that use, it provides a stable lighting backup in case of a power grid failure and the occasional handy job requiring a bright light. I like it's ability to provide light, without the need for hazardous fuels or an open flame. It is more than bright enough to light up an entire room and will run for days with D cell batteries. I do however have some issues with the unit, the first being the white exterior. Not that I don't like the design, just that the white color extends to the base of the unit, so if you place it anywhere less than immaculately clean it will get dirty. The second issue is that there is no charging or battery life indicator located on the unit. This would be a great feature to let me know if the unit is getting adequate sunlight and also the batteries current state of charge. The last issue is that there is no low setting for the white led bulbs. If added the low setting could extend run time a few hours with the solar power pack, or a few days with the D cells. Overall I feel that the energizer hybrid solar lantern is an excellent product, with many great features and uses. It has an affordable price, is made by a trustful company and is a necessity for those pesky bad weather situations. I would definitely recommend this product to family and friends in a heartbeat. My only hope is that energizer corrects the noted issues in later iterations of this lantern. Energizer Solar 9 LED Lantern

I have owned the origional Coleman version of this lantern for 6 years. It has plain floresent tubs and no solar charger, and is still working perfectly.

This new lantern design with LED lights and a solar charger should last as long as the owner does.

A must for the home safety & security box. - Lantern - Lanterns - Led - Emergency Light'

Motorcyling Neck Warmer

I bought my first neck gator from canada! that was the best investment ever!

i went with the columbia cause i though it would be as good.. this one is thin and not reversible i have to wear it folded (double) in order to be effective.

it does the job..! if you can go with another one Columbia Men's Neck Gaiter, Charcoal Heather, One Size

This is one of those things that you never realize how much you needed it until you actually get one. I've worn mine on some cold mornings and it's great because it acts as a scarf, but you can also pull it up over if mouth and nose. Highly recommended it and would buy again myself.'

Remote Viewing - remote viewing, slingbox pro

The Slingbox Pro does an excellent job of streaming video from multiple sources (Tivo's, cable boxes, or satellite tuners, for example) to any internet-connected computer, anywhere in the world. If you have access to a fast internet connection, you'll be amazed at the quality of the picture and the sound.

Two issues:

1) The primary, defining feature of the PRO verison of the Slingbox is its ability to "sling" high-definition video across the internet to your laptop. It's unfortunate that the folks at Sling Media:

- saw fit to design the box to use a proprietary cable instead of the industry-standard HDMI cable that all HD component owners know and use, and

- failed to include their proprietary cable in the box with the Pro. When I buy a product for its PRO features, I shouldn't have to go back out and scavenge for a rare, $50.00 cable in order to use those features. This was a terrible oversight.

2) Be aware that you will not be able to use the Slingbox unless you:

- can plug it directly into your home network router, or

- purchase a $50-$90 wireless Ethernet "bridge," or

- purchase Slingbox's bizarre and expensive hardware solution for connecting the Slingbox to your router over your electrical wiring.

A PRO-level, premium product should be able to see and use a wireless home network connection, right out of the box; a trip back to the store to buy more hardware shouldn't be necessary.

The core product is great, and works better than advertised ... but this PRO package lacks what any pro would expect to find in the box. Be aware that, in addition to the Slingbox Pro, you'll need to buy:

- a home network router (if you don't already have one),

- a wireless G network bridge or the Slingbox networking product (if you don't have your router near your television), and

- a proprietary video cable (if you want to "sling" HD programming). Sling Media Slingbox PRO (SB200-100)

So by now you probably know what this is: A thin ethernet client (read: single purpose computer) that takes video from your home devices and streams it so that you can watch it on a PC or other compatible device anywhere in the world with internet access. You get to control your home device through a virtual remote that sends IR signals through an IR "blaster" cable that connects to the Slingbox and shoots the IR signals to your home device just as if you were at home with a remote.

Looks good on paper. But does it work? Having a lot of experience with streaming video, I was very skeptical. In general, I've found that streaming video eminating from high bandwith commercial servers still results in videos that continually freeze as the buffer runs out. Just how could this Slingbox, which has to squeeze its broadcast signal through the intentionally crippled upload connection of a typical cable connection, possibly deliver the goods to the receiving device in a fashion that allows a good, non-stuttering, non-freezing picture? (In case you don't know, almost all home cable/DSL connections are limited by the providers to about 30kpbs upload speed; compare that to download speeds that range from 768kbps to 3mbps! This is done intentionally so that people don't use their PCs as web servers unless they pay much higher commercial rates).

Anyway, I installed the Slingbox (trivially easy if you have ever installed an A/V component before), installed the software on a PC (Windows 2000 or XP required, sorry you ME, 98 and NT laggards), and let the Slingbox installer do its thing. It asked me some simple questions and I was done.

Installation was quick and painless, but what about the real question: How's the streaming video quality? Well, on my home PC, which obviously has an advantage since it's on the same network as the Slingbox, I can get great streaming video. But that's no real challenge.

So I went over to a friend's house, where there's a kinda miserable DSL connection, installed the Slingbox player, and fired it up...And guess what? After about 30 seconds, where the slingbox player was adjusting the compression/resolution in order to provide stutter free playback, the picture was rock solid. Better than anything I've EVER experienced with video from any web server. And it stayed rock solid. W-O-W!

I'm sold. This product is for real. What a great product.

As for whether you need the Slingbox Pro, or the cheaper models. The pro adds capacity for multiple inputs, an integrated analogue video tuner (so you can watch EITHER cable or your attached DVR/VCR/DVD player/cable box/etc), and the abilty to stream the output of a HD (high definition) device. HOWEVER, be aware that to use the HD input to the Slingbox, you need a proprietary cable that is NOT included in the package (and which will set you back about $50). That kinda sucks, and I almost docked the unit one star for that bit of bait and switch (the box touts its high definition capabilities but doesn't really say that it will cost you $50 more to use them), but I'm so happy with the performance of the box in general that I'll let that slide... - Tv - Internet Tv - Slingbox Pro - Remote Viewing'

Alternative Fiction - andy garcia, derek jacobi

A brilliant and brilliantly-realized film using modern film techniques to evoke the best old films. A young woman suffering from amnesia and violent nightmares turns to a cynical private detective to help her uncover not only her present, but also explore her past, as they begin to suspect she's been reincarnated after a violent murder in the '40's. Kenneth Branagh directs a superb screenplay by Scott Frank and plays two roles (as does Emma Thompson and a few bit players). The film is shot in black and white AND color, with both stars using different accents and realizing two complete performances each. Cleverly, the script has characters both believing in -- and not believing in -- the idea of reincarnation, which gives depth and balance to both cynics and romantics in the audience. Beautiful film score by Patrick Doyle, which only heightens the melodrama. Everything about this film is tops (including an uncredited performance by Robin Williams -- and it's a gem). I'll never understand why it never received a single Oscar nomination -- Hollywood, you've done it again! If you truly love thrillers, this is one you can't afford to miss! END Dead Again

Although he received tremendous praise for his memorable film production of Shakespeare's HENRY V, DEAD AGAIN was the film that really introduced actor/director Kenneth Branagh to mainstream American film, and for a time he and then-wife Emma Thompson were the most celebrated acting couple since Olivier and Leigh. The marriage did not last, but fortunately this film did--and I say fortunately, for although it is somewhat forgotten today, DEAD AGAIN is an overlooked jewel of a film: classy, noir-ish, stylish, and very memorable indeed. The story is fanciful. In the late 1940s noted composer Roman Strauss was convicted of mudering his noted pianist wife Margaret, and was sentenced to death. Some forty years later, a young woman suffering from amnesia falls into the hands of a no-nonsense Los Angeles private eye--and under hypnosis she recalls not her immediate past, but the lives of Roman and Margaret. Is this reincarnation? Is she Margaret Strauss? Is the private eye to whom she is attracted but of whom she is also strangely fearful the reincarnation of Roman Strauss, Margaret's killer? Is history repeating itself?Scott Frank's clever script makes for a fast-paced, twisting, and fascinating plot-driven film--and it is flawlessly played by Branagh and Thompson, who assume dual roles as the 1940s Roman and Margaret Strauss and the 1980s Mike Church and Grace. The supporting cast is also excellent, with memorable performances by Andy Garcia and Derek Jacobi--and a truly exceptional cameo by Robin Williams, who here for the first time demonstrated that his talents went far beyond comedy. The shifts between past and present, nightmare and reality are exceedingly well done, and although the plot becomes more and more fantastic the entire film is so perfectly executed that one buys into it every step of the way.If DEAD AGAIN has a flaw, it is that some of the twists and turns are predictable--but in the film's favor I must admit that it sweeps you along so quickly that you seldom have time to analyse that failing while you actually watch the film. It is also to a certain extent a "one trick pony" film; the film is at its most powerful upon a first viewing, when one is oblivious to what is coming. But even so, it is tremendously effective and it holds up as well today as when it first appeared on the big screen. The DVD includes little in the way of extras beyond commentary tracks by producer Lindsay Doran, writer Scott Frank, and director-star Kenneth Branagh--and these are as hit-and-miss as commentary tracks usually are, but they hit more often than miss. The picture and sound quality is overall very good. Recommended!

In the Hollywood world of the same plots and stories, this film always stands to the side as an original. At the time of this film's release, the idea of past lives, Karma, and reincarnation had not yet been beaten to death...so I found it to be very entertaining, and a film I still watch from time to time on a rainy afternoon. An interesting story that captures you from the beginning and leaves you guessing "Who Done It?" all the way to the end. The reviewers who deem this worthy of Hitchcock are absolutely correct! Both Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson are fabulous in this film...the chemistry between them is undeniable. Such a shame that it didn't work out for them in real life. This was a departure from the traditional Shakespearean roles that Branagh plays, however, his character in this film(as is Thompson's)is one you can warm up to immediately. The imagery and flashbacks to the 1940's are wonderful...you can tell that they were well orchestrated and are delivered with class. The film has a completely engrossing storyline as well...so many angles to absorb, so many possible endings pop into your head that the true ending is a surprise. Wonderful performances by Derek Jacobi...he is tastily diabolical in this, as well as Andy Garcia (as the jaded reporter) and Robin Williams. Even the most die hard hecklers of past lives theories and Karma can't help but enjoy this film...a very believable, entertaining film that you'll want to see more than once!

This is one of the best murder mysteries to come out of the Nineties, and probably for some time before or since. It's Hitchcockian without being an homage. Mike Church, a private detective in Los Angeles, is called on to try to identify a young woman (Emma Thompson), given the name Grace by the Catholic order which took her in, who at first is mute. Gradually, and with the help of an antiques dealer who is a talented hypnotist (Derek Jacobi), she begins to speak and identify herself with a woman, Margaret Straus, who was murdered shortly after WWII in Los Angeles by her husband, Roman. Roman Straus was a famous composer/conducter, an imigre from Germany whose life was saved by his now housekeeper (Hanna Schygulla), who has a young son.

Roman and Margaret Straus are played in black and white flashback by Branagh and Thompson. And while Roman was executed for stabbing his wife to death with a pair of scissors, he maintained his innocence. The motive was said to be jealousy, driven by the obvious love a reporter, Gray Baker (Andy Garcia), had for Margaret.

In trying to find the sources of Grace's distress, Mike finds some issues of his own. And he finally identifies the real murderer who is still alive and dangerous.

Yes, the story is complicated, but Branagh tells it in a clear, straight-forward manner which also requires the viewer to stay alert. He uses big film-making gestures, including great camera angles and lighting. And just as effectively, he uses some wit and humor as the story unfolds.

The cast is uniformly first-rate, including a best-friend part by Wayne Knight and a small but effective cameo by Robin Williams. One scene cleverly acted between Church and an aged, sick Gray Baker should put you off cigarette smoking.

I think this is one fine movie, and I hope it doesn't become forgotten. - Andy Garcia - Derek Jacobi - Suspense - Emma Thompson'

Upholstery Staplers - pneumatic, upholstery

Light and effective. It does its job as well as I could have hoped. Not a single jam that was not obviously my fault. I have spent several times the cost of this tool looking for a stapler that would do what this one does as well as it does. Why the enthusiasm? Well, most staplers not meant for construction site abuse are not very good. This one is.A word of caution. This is not, nor was it ever intended to be, a construction stapler. The staples it is designed to use are not big enough nor thick enough to be of much use for construction site purposes. This is a professional grade upholstery stapler. Porter-Cable US58 1/4-Inch to 5/8-Inch 22-Gauge C-Crown Upholstery Stapler

This gun is very comparable to other industrial upholstery staplers in features, design and quality, but it is considerably less expensive.

Since this is an upholstery stapler you can get staples from any upholstery supply shop. A hardware store will not carry them. When you go to your local upholstery supply shop ask for staples compatible with Empire 7, BeA 71, Bostitch BA71, JK 670, Rainco 7, or Senco C series staplers. Amazon's price for replacement staples is good considering they are galvanized, but you can get liquor finish staples cheaper at your local store. Many will carry stainless steel staples as well.

This stapler does not come with a case because it is an industrial tool. Upholstery shops do not bother putting their tools in boxes at the end of the day. Also upholstery shops don't make a lot of saw dust, at least not in the fabric part of the shop. For those using this stapler in a general purpose shop, a case would be nice but, as mentioned, one is not provided. The parts list mentions an optionally available case which can be purchased from your local factory service center for less than ten bucks.

I bought this stapler to re-cover the vinyl pillions and seats on my boat. And, approximately 8,000 staples later, I can say with certainty that it is definitely the ideal tool for any type of upholstery work. It's light, easy to hold, has an extended nose to get into tight spaces, and is powerful enough to completely sink the staple through several layers of fabric, even into hardwood. It's also extremely easy to re-load, and I've never experienced any type of jam or mis-fire. Construction is typical Porter-Cable (my personal favorite brand), meaning it appears to be built super tough--I expect it to last a lifetime. So then, why only 4 stars? Unlike any other pneumatic 'nail gun' I've seen, this stapler does not have a safety tipped nose. Usually, the nose has to be pressed against something in order for the trigger to be functional. But, with this one, there is no safety tip--you just pull the trigger and it starts firing. Add to that the fact that the trigger is very sensitive, and you have a potential safety hazard.. In normal operation, these two things make it easier to get the job done, but at too high of a cost to safety (in my opinion). You might be guessing that I am trying to blame the tool for a goof up, and you'd be right. I ended up shooting myself in the index finger with this stapler. It was not a major ordeal, it just hurt for a few days, but I realize now that normal nail guns have those safety tips for a good reason. Buy the stapler, but be careful!

This Porter Cable upholstery stapler is as comfortable to use, as it is to buy; great price point. I did buy it with the intention of using it for attaching fabric to seat bottoms, and I have some early French provincial furniture that will need reupholstering. What I found was that it is usable for a lot of other things as well. I make cabinetry. In order to transport the finish pieces, I use the single sided corrugated cardboard, which is inexpensive to wrap it. These staples work great to attach the cardboard to the back seam of the cabinet. This stapler will take up to 5/8" staples. I didn't find them here at Amazon so I bought up to the 1/2" size. They are wider than the narrow crown staples. The stapler fires well without any misfires since I have been using it. It doesn't have a safety plunge mechanism, as do the finish nailers. That enables you to get into tight corners whereas the tip is a lot smaller. The only downside is that it does not come with a case, and I did not find staples for it available locally. All in all it is a very nice tool. Highly recommended.

I bought this stapler with the intention of using it to hang faced insulation. I wasn't sure if it would do the job or not but I figured I'd give it a shot. I was not disappointed. It has worked flawlessly through several thousand staples. As others have mentioned, the staples are not very thick, even smaller than standard T-50 staples, but for something like insulation where it's going to be covered up anyways, the staples work just fine. Plus, because they are thinner, it means more staples per strip and thus fewer reloads. The extended nose made it easy to get into tight corners that other staplers wouldn't have been able to. A bump-fire trigger would have made it even better, but I guess since it is technically an upholstery stapler that probably wouldn't make much sense. The only downfall I can see is that I couldn't find staples for it at any local hardware store, had to order them from here. With free shipping, though, that wasn't a big deal.

This upholstery stapler is very responsive and it works very well. It is very light, and yet its construction is very solid. The only thing missing is a hard case (which is optional). Do not forget to buy staples, because it does not ship with any. Great for all upholstery jobs. You will not be disappointed.

Nice stapler. Very easy to use, compact and heavy duty. No depth adjustment collar or thumbscrew to fiddle with, just change your air pressure setting and keep on going. Securing thick, heavyweight upholstery material onto hard wood furniture frames repetitively is a breeze.

Assuming that you already own a small portable compressor, and don't mind dealing with the air hose, I personally feel that the US58 is a better and much less expensive alternative to a true professional grade electric upholstery stapler and with only minimal care, will probably last much longer.

For some reason, there is no carrying case included with this stapler. I was able to purchase one though, through the Dewalt/Porter-Cable service net website for about eleven dollars plus freight [Part #891602]. It is just a small case similar to the one that came with my PIN-100 pinner, but it definitely makes it much easier to transport and store this tool along with maybe a dozen or so assorted sizes of staple strips.

The B&C Eagle staples that are sold here on Amazon are good quality, but I find that the Porter-Cable brand staples sold elsewhere are every bit as good and are also less than half the price for the same ten thousand count boxes.

Overall, I really like this PC stapler and have no problem recommending it to anyone who is looking to purchase this type of tool. - Pneumatic - Porter-cable - Upholstery Staplers - Upholstery'

Organization Accessories - hanging jewelry organizer, jewelry organizer

Just get this one, and see how organized your jewellery can be!

Reasons to love this product:

- the white background, that distinctly shows off the color of my jewellery

- lot of pockets, I can arrange view all of these at one shot.

- hang them in the closet and save space!

- I actually get time to quickly pick the jewellery every morning. There were times I couldnt find the jewellery I was looking for as it would be in a pile.

- I have tried a lot of jewellry organizers like boxes, small bags, and even hanging them up the wall with push pins.. none of it worked like this one for me!

- I actually bought the 37-pocket zippered one to store small earrings (so they dont fall off), and the 80-pocket one to store the large necklaces.

Just love this product. My mom loves it too, so I am shipping one to her and to my cousins in India as well.

Edit (March 2010): Been using this nearly two years now. looks great, works just as great! all my cousins love this too. I am getting one more for my 6 year old niece :) Hanging Jewelry Organizer White 37 Pockets Bedroom Closet Accessory Storage

At first I thought this was the answer to organizing my jewelry. I've owned it about a month or so, after going in it twice a day retrieving and returning jewelry to each compartment, a couple of zippers have broken and some of the (sewn in) dividers have ripped. But, I guess you get what you pay for!

This is a great product because it has zippers -- I've seen a lot of the larger organizers, but never liked as because I wanted zippers. Without them, the pieces definitely fall out some -- and I wanted to buy this so that it would make life easier going back and forth between school and home (as a frequently travelling college student). This is extremely useful, and although I suspect that necklaces would get more than a little tangled, I'm an earring girl anyway -- and I fit 2-4 pairs of earrings in each pocket, so I've still got plenty of room for my collection to grow. I definitely recommend this item!

This organizer is IDEAL for travel! The Zippers hold everything in place, and every thing is accessible and viewable when hung up by

it's built in hanger.

Nothing gets lost, tangled or falls out! This is VERY spacious and each pocket easily holds more than one item...so

don't be fooled by the "37 pockets"....it holds even MORE!

I HIGHLY recommend this for home use OR travel.

I love this Jewelry Organizer. During boating season, we spend every weekend on our boat, cruising the Chesapeake Bay. The worst part of these wonderful weekends is anticipating what activities will come up and which outfits will be required (I know---tough life, eh) This is the greatest thing. I keep all my costume jewelry in this wonderful organizer and take the whole collection with me every weekend and so am always prepared no matter the occasion. The organizer folds so I can fit it in my weekend bag and the hanger then allows me to hang the organizer in my closet. A friend of mine makes a lot of silver jewelry and I have a large collection of her work. The individual pockets provide great protection from crushing and the anti-tarnish property of the fabric backing keeps it all shiny and clean. I previously had an organizer that was all vinyl and did not zip. All the jewelry fell out of it, no matter how carefully I packed it. This one zips up tight and secure. I bought one for a friend and another that I will be giving my daughter-in-law for Christmas. That translates to my recommendation to buy this product.

I ordered 3 different jewelry organizers for my trip and this one is my favorite. Why??? It holds everything including necklaces and bangles and the zippers make everything stays in place. I'm going to get a few more for myself and some for friends and family for Christmas.

This is a really nice organizer for someone who has small jewelry pieces. I found the compartments to be very snug on the top areas and roomy but narrow on the lower half. The material is a sturdy plastic and I haven't had any problems with any tearing or riping. - Padma - Home Management - Hanging Jewelry Organizer - Jewelry Organizer'

Electronics

I am not an Apple Afficianodo. I don't wear jeans and black turtlenecks in reverence to Steve Jobs. I don't hang out at the Apple Store and covet becoming a "genius"; however, I have to give credit where credit is due. The last few products Apple has brought out - the iPod, iPhone, iPad - have been incredible and changed the consumer electronics and media / software landscape. Apple TV is now positioned to do the same, but it will take some more time to fully realize the potential of this device.

Apple TV effectively allows you to stream whatever is on your iTunes to your TV and home theater system. Moreover, it has built in support for Netflix, You Tube and a few other internet based media content providers. The picture quality and performance for these services are worth the price of admission. There is significant potential to advance the platform - just give it some time.

System Overview: My Apple TV is plugged into a 60 inch Samsung 1080p LED HDTV via HDMI (video) and a Yamaha Home Theater Receiver via Toslink optical cable (audio). I have AT&T Uverse with their 802.11g Residential Gateway (combination of DSL modem and wireless router) with their Elite DSL service (6 MB per second). iTunes runs on a Dell Desktop with 4GB of memory, Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 500 GB Hard Drive operating on Windows Vista (64 bit) and secured with Norton 360 (firewall, antivirus, etc.). The network handles the Desktop, 2 iPhones, a Blackberry, an iPad, the Apple TV, 4 Laptops, a wireless Printer and a networked wired printer. The Computer / Residential Gateway are in the Den and the TV / Home Theater / Apple TV are in the family room. The two rooms are about 100 feet apart and are separated by five walls.

Set Up: Easy as pie. It took five minutes to plug in the HDMI cable, the optical cable, the power outlet and then adding it to the wireless network. Sharing iTunes from my desktop to Apple TV took another 20 minutes, since I had to download the new version of iTunes and restart my computer and Apple TV. Apple really makes it easy - I didn't have to make any adjustments to my firewall settings to share iTunes on the desktop with Apple TV. I also downloaded the Apple Remote on my iPhone and iPad, which took another 5 minutes.

User Interface: Apple's secret sauce is the simplicity of their products. Apple TV is no different. The menu is very simple - Movies, TV, Internet, Computer and Settings. Movies and TV are for renting content directly from iTunes within Apple TV. Internet gives you access to Netflix, You Tube, etc. Computer gives you access to iTunes on your computer. Settings allows you to change the various Apple TV options. The remote control is Apple's usual model of minimalist efficiency, with a menu button, a play / pause button and an iPod like controller. The supplied remote works well with Apple TV, but is a bit cumbersome when one has to enter data (e.g., e-mail addresses, search on YouTube or Netflix). A much better solution is downloading Apple Remote on your iPhone or iPad. It basically turns the iPhone or iPad into a big touch pad that allows you to use gestures to control the Apple TV (e.g., swipe left, swipe right, double click, etc.). Moreover, it automatically provides a keyboard when one is asked for text input (e.g., for search). Apple remote is free on the App Store.

Netflix Streaming / Video Quality: Setting up Netflix was quick - basically just enter your e-mail address / password and you're ready to go. I watched some TV from BBC, a foreign flick and Iron Man. Each program loaded quickly - less than 30 seconds. Picture quality was good to great, depending on the source material. Picture quality was comparable to DVD for SD material(perhaps slightly better), but slightly less sharp than upconverted DVD or blue-ray. HD Programming looked like the HD on-demand programming through uVerse. There was enough of a buffer that there was no jittering, pixelation or stuttering on the streaming to the TV. Sound quality on the stream was good - I don't think they stream in 5.1, so the video stream doesn't leverage the subwoofer. Considering that I'm running a heavily taxed wireless system on 802.11g with a 100 foot distance between Apple TV and the Gateway, the picture quality and streaming performance are impressive. Having this quality of Netflix compatibility is worth the price of admission by itself.

iTunes Streaming: I streamed some music from my Playlists from the Computer. Sound quality is good, but not great. My Yamaha CD Player sounds better, but it can only hold 5 cds. Having access to my entire library is very useful, so you lose sound quality but gain convenience. iTunes streams not only the music, but also the cover art. After a few minutes, Apple TV switches into screensaver mode and starts transmitting pictures to the TV along with the music. I also streamed some videos from my computer and the streaming was again flawless. One of the issues with Apple TV is that it only supports the Apple video standards, i.e., MP4. I had some DIVX files that I converted over to MP4 by using DVD Fab and imported them into iTunes. So if you have a library of AVI, Divx, Xvid, etc., this will require conversion of those files in order to stream from your computer.

iTunes from within Apple TV: There is access to an iTunes store within Apple TV as well. They have a different pricing structure, in that TV shows and movies are available for rent only. They have a limited number of titles at this point - primarily BBC, ABC (since Steve Jobs sits on their Board) and Fox. CBS and NBC are not on Apple TV. Movie selection is decent - they have all the latest movies. The Apple TV selection can be easily increased by just downloading the content you want from iTunes on your desktop and then streaming it to Apple TV.

YouTube Streaming: Surprisingly good. The HQ / HD You Tube pieces look remarkably crisp on the TV. The older content that was meant to watch on a small window on your computer looked a little pixelated, but acceptable.

Apple has built a great platform with a lot of potential. With what is available right now - Apple TV is a pretty impressive value at $99. It is worth it just for the Netflix streaming and integration with iTunes. Since Apple TV is actually built on the same hardware (at least the processing chip) as the iPhone and iPad and has the same operating system, I wouldn't be surprised if there are "apps" that will eventually make it to Apple TV to further enhance Apple TV (e.g., ABC Streaming, Games, Amazon on Demand, etc.). There is supposed to be an upgrade to the operating system with a new version of Airplay that comes out in November, 2010. This will allow you to stream from an iPad or iPod to the Apple TV as well.

I looked at other streaming devices (e.g., Roku, using my Panasonic Blue Ray for Netflix, etc.) and none of them had the simplicity and reliabilty that the Apple TV offers. The Wi Fi "stick" for my Blue Ray player is $80 anyway and the Netflix integration isn't anywhere nearly as robust as Apple TV. UVerse also has music and picture streaming built in using Microsoft Media Center - however, it required some network configuration and it crashes quite often. I didn't purchase a Roku, but a friend of mine has had a number of issues with streaming performance. At under $100, the Apple TV is competitively priced with other streaming options. Now just bring on the "apps".

Update on 4/1/11:

I've had the Apple TV for a few months now and I still really like it. Apple has introduced Airplay, which is worth mentioning as it has potential to be a gamechanger technology. Moreover, there has been significant activity on the "jailbreaking" front for the Apple TV.

Airplay is Apple's system of transmitting video / audio wirelessly between compatible devices. Apple TV, the iPhone and iPad are all Airplay compatible. This has proven to be particularly useful feature as I can stream videos from my iPad to the Apple TV and have them appear on my TV. For example, I may have a digital copy of a movie on my iPad (perhaps purchased through iTunes or came with a DVD purchase). Through Airplay, I can transmit the movie directly from my iPad to the Apple TV and watch the movie on my TV. Similarly, if a friend has an iPhone and we want to listen to their latest music selection, we can stream their music from their iPhone directly to my stereo system through Airplay. The real gamechanger for Airplay is streaming video from websites onto my Apple TV so I can watch them on my TV. For example, I could be on the TED website and they have a video from a TED conference. I can stream the video directly to my Apple TV and watch the video on my TV's 60 inch screen instead of the iPad's 10 inch screen. Several websites have already incorporated Airplay compatibility into their videos, such as CNN and TED. I think Airplay is going to have an interesting adoption cycle - traditional media companies (e.g., TV Networks) probably won't endorse Airplay since it goes against their business model. Other websites that rely on video for traffic (e.g., adult sites, news sites, blogs, etc.) will probably adopt Airplay to gain more traction with consumers.

According to Wikipedia, jailbreaking refers to "a process that allows devices running Apple's iOS operating system to gain full access to unlock all features of the said operating system, thereby removing limitations imposed by Apple". Once jailbroken, iOS users are able to load and run applications that are not available on the App Store. Jailbreaking a device is not illegal, much to Apple's chagrin; however, it could void one's warranty. I'm not going into how to jailbreak and Apple TV - just google "jailbreak Apple TV" for instructions. Since the Apple TV has been jailbroken, there have been some applications that have been launched to provide more robust usage of Apple TV. The Couch Surfer application is basically a web browser for Apple TV. Additionally, there are applications that allow Apple TV to play formats other than Apple approved formats, such as DIVX and others. I haven't jailbroken my Apple TV; however, one should be aware of what options are available for this device. Apple TV MC572LL/A (2010)'

Digital Voice Recorders - digital voice recorder, field recorder

Straight to the point: If you're considering getting a digital recorder and your needs are simple, seriously consider this one.

The sound is quite phenomenal for a recorder this size and asking price. (Zoom claims the H1 has the same frequency and SPL handing as their popular H2.)

Button/switch placement is intuitive and couldn't be simpler. Need the lo-cut filter? Slide the switch in the back (and the LCD will tell you it's on). When you're ready to record, simply press the big red button on the front. When done recording, press it again. If you want to hear what you've just recorded (via the built-in speaker or the line out jack), simply push the play button on the side of the unit.

There are several functions that will prove useful including adjusting the input level manually (from 1 to 100; *really* useful for loud situations like a rock concert) and being able to actually monitor audio during recording via the line out jack.

The unit records in MP3 and Broadcast WAV formats, in many bit-depths and sample rates. (Max for WAV is 24-bit/96 kHz and 320 kbps for MP3.) Broadcast WAV functions just like any other WAV with the addition of having metadata (like time and date) stamped into the file, which is great for identifying WAVs in audio editors that support the format. The H1 allows you to place markers into WAVs during recording for easy transport/identification during playback in audio editors as well. (The H1 will also jump to these markers while in playback mode should you push the "<<" or ">>" buttons during playback.)

File transfer to your computer is quite fast. (For comparison's sake, the H1 uses Hi-speed USB 2.0 versus the H2's Full-speed USB 2.0. In layman's terms, the H1 is quicker than the H2 file-transfer wise.) The unit is firmware-upgradable. (Mine came with version 1.02; there isn't a newer version as of this review at Zoom's Web site.)

I knew that the H1 was small but I wasn't exactly prepared for how small. If you were to lay your palm flat, the H1 would fit inside it with room to spare. (I have average-sized hands.)

The H1 is so light even with one AA battery that it feels delicate. I wouldn't suggest banging it around. There's a connector for a wrist strap at the bottom of the unit (near the speaker) so if you're concerned about dropping the H1, it might be worth your while to connect a strap.

The cover to the microSD card slot can come open with just a nudge which might annoy you while handing the H1. (I should also note the cover is made of a hard plastic but looks like it might come off and break with enough force; just be careful as you open it.) The tripod mounting joint is also made of plastic so you might not want to overtighten when mounting the H1. Like most recorders, the H1's sensitive mics are prone to handling noise.

There doesn't seem to be any way of recording in mono; it would have to be done post-production.

Get the H1 Accessory Pack as well but also get a RedHead windscreen (or similar) to boot; the included windscreen in the Accessory Pack is great for voice/plosives and all but horrible for wind noise (which is not surprising since it's a foam windscreen). One needs more to baffle the wind only a "dead cat" type windscreen can provide.

I know I forgot things but I wanted to make this as concise as possible, pros and cons. It's simply a great recorder and I was not disappointed.

UPDATED EDIT: Since my initial review, two months have passed by, so I thought I'd give my updated thoughts. There are some reports that the H1 is draining batteries faster than normal even while the H1 is off. This is obviously not in every unit as I do not have this issue. (I had mine since official release, which was August 20, 2010.) A quick way to find if you have a defective H1 is to simply check the battery within a day. If it's quite low or no battery power, contact Samson (in the U.S.) and let them know.

There are users who claim that the H1 is shoddily built. My challenge to that is, What were you expecting for $99 USD? Gold? As I said in my review, the H1 is so darned light with a battery in it it's hard to not think of it as delicate. Is it so shoddy that users who are careful with their electronics shouldn't pick it up? Oh, heck no. It's not like the H1's casing is made of plastic that's so pliable it's pathetic. It feels solid enough at least in my hand.

Obviously, if your needs put you in a situation where durability is a concern, the H1 might not be for you. I would think this was common sense all things considered.

Of course, a note on the sound: It is quite superb. I've done (far) more than a bunch of recordings already and there are times where I have to check to see if what I'm hearing is coming from my monitors or in the real world. (I thought someone was presently mowing their lawn off in the distance when, in fact, they were not.) It's that good.

One last thing: At the top of the H1 page here on Amazon, you'll see a "Frequently Bought Together" section, which includes a 16 GB SD card. ***DO NOT BUY THIS*** as the H1 takes microSD cards, not SD cards. (microSD cards are much smaller (about the size of your pinky nail) and usually come with a SD card adapter.) What you want is something like this: Transcend 4 GB microSDHC Class 6 Flash Memory Card TS4GUSDHC6E. You can, of course, use the 2 GB microSD card that comes with the H1 if your needs don't require a huge amount of memory to record on. Zoom H1 Handy Portable Digital Recorder

I had the Zoom H2 for years and loved it. One day, I plugged in the wrong AC adaptor and fried the unit. ugh!

I was familiar with the H2 and was comfortable with it but its tiny screen was hard for me to read and it took quite a bit of time for me to get used to the interfacing.

The H1 is simple and having the controls on the device make it far more user friendly. It is tiny, smaller than I thought, which is great.

The sound quality is equal to the Q3, though this tiny unit feels fragile compared to the Q3. The plastic concerns me as I'm not sure it will hold up well. The Q3 feels more solid. I don't have a professional musician's ear, but the sound quality seemed to me to equal the recordings I have done with the H2. The "cd quality" sound is what I got when recording guitar, harmonica and vocals.

Other reviewers have wisely recommended the protective case and the mics are highly sensitive. The lo-cut feature (just a switch) nicely cuts out background noise.

Strangely, the unit is not made well for standing up straight. If you use the H2 platform, for instance, it means laying the H1 on its side. However, for best recording, Zoom recommends aiming the microphones directly towards the subject.

The mics appear to have a little "give" to them, as they wiggle slightly, and the plastic dome that covers them does not appear strong. This concerns me.

The door that opens for the microcard is very fragile and I thought I broke it the first time I opened it. I plan to leave it alone and not swap cards but transfer songs via interface. Handle with care; or as another reviewer said; put in the card and leave it alone. That is my plan.

With these issues addressed, the bottom line is the wonderful Zoom recording quality for a great price, with user friendly controls that can be learned in under 10 minutes. For guitar, piano, vocals, recording bands, bluegrass jams, etc, it seems to sound as nice as the H2 did, without the complex interface. If the unit was just a bit sturdier (like the protection of the mics), it would be a 5 star recorder. The audio sound is 5 star quality. - Digital Voice Recorder - Mp3 Recorder - Digital Voice Recorders - Field Recorder'

Contractor Supply - battery packs, power tools

I've had 8 or 9 of these batteries in the last few years. Expect to get about 2 years at most of good power than cells start to die. Used to be that the Bosch ones were always about 80 bucks and it was better to have them rebuilt at a battery shop for about 50 bucks...now Amazon's got them new for about the same price. Great!

The Blue core is only slightly better. Not much. Just more insulation. The cells overheat and die and voltage drops off per cell (about 1.5 each). Check with voltage tester....you'll see older batteries even after recharging will be quite a bit less than new ones. (around 19 volts for new)

Rules, Don't overwork the batteries, when power starts to full off recharge and replace with new immediately. Don't run 'em down. Heat kills 'em. Keep charged batteries always nearby. I love the tools esp. the jig saw and planer and skill saw. I find the Dewalt tools also good and their batteries seem slightly more powerful but my Bosch never fail...but the batteries aren't so good buy I think that's with all 18 volts. The old Makita 9 volts lasted longer by far. Bigger means less longevity. (Lithion-ion has some problems in cold on my little bosch 10.8 tools)

finally a price about what it should be... Bosch BAT181 BlueCore 18-Volt 2.4 Amp Hour NiCad Battery

Bosch's battery life is much less than what it should be but since I have invested in almost all of the 18 volt tools Bosch offered, I needed another battery after my original died; this works perfectly and actually seems to hold a better charge or perhaps I've forgotten what a "new" battery is like since they degrade over time!

Hint: Do not run your batteries until they are discharged as that shortens their useful life!

Bosch should offer an upgrade path for all the registered owners of the "old" style tool sets to the newer battery technology!

I was very pleased with this replacement battery. It goes in my Bosch radio and I expect it will last for at least 2 years, like the original did. Even factoring in the shipping, it is still about $25 less than buying at Home Depot. - Cordless Drill - Battery Packs - Bosch - Power Tools'

Paslode

What is there to say about a battery? It takes a charge and it delivers power. This particular model lasts a very long time. The impulse guns must not require much power to operate because these will drive several thousand nails before dying. My only complaint is that they are expensive compared to other batteries . At the same rate a 12v would be a hundred bucks. Paslode Cordless Battery

Loyal paslode customer own approx. 10 cordless guns, approx 12 oval batteries, 8 of the batteries have came apart at the clip. The top of the battery comes completly off when you put it in the gun. Have to use black tape to hold the batteries together. Don't have much choice I need a battery to fire the guns trying to find other options. Any sugestions?

I picked up a spare battery for my Paslode since I use it at our remote cabin and charging batteries is a bit of an ordeal. There's not too much to say about the battery itself, works like you'd expect. The battery doesn't have to do much in the gun (runs a cooling fan and fires the spark plug), so it lasts a long time on one charge.

the battery came on time and is working just fine

BUT MY ORDER FOR GLEEM TOOTH PAST HAS NOT COME IN - IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE IN AROUND JULY 19TH NOW FOR NO REASON GIVEN IT IS SUPPOSE TO BE IN THE MIDDLE OF AUG.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'
