Electronic Lock - keyless deadbolt, keyless entry
I recently bought one of these for our home after we moved in. Now I don't need to fumble with keys every time I need to ket in the house, and I don't have to worry about kids losing or forgetting keys.
Like other schlage locks I have owned, this unit seems to be very well made, sturdy, and easy to install. The programming of codes is simple, and codes can be added or deleted just by using the keypad. Keypad use as far as entering codes or even updating codes is straighforward. The fact that a simple button push "lights up" the buttons at night is also cool.
The buttons are also epoxy-coated, so the numbers won't "wear off" thus revealing the codes used. I have a separate code for each family member, and can easily add codes if I have a contractor stopping by.
A key can be used to open the lock if for some reason the electronic part stops functioning (too cold from sub-sero weather, perhaps?). Since this is a Schlage lock, it can even be re-keyed so that the key you have matches the other Schlage locks your house may have. Schlage FE595VCAM619ACC Camelot Keypad Accent Lever Door Lock, Satin Nickel
The other reviews have covered the product very well, so I am just commenting on the battery life. My 9 volt battery that came with the lock lasted 1 month. I just assumed it had been sitting in the package and was near it's exp. date. The 2nd battery I installed was a fresh Everyready Alkaline 9 volt. It lasted a total of 4 months. There are only 3 family members in my house, so I don't think it is a matter of heavy use.
My point is that 4 months is a long way from the 3 years advertised so consider this when you are thinking of getting this lock.
4/5/09 Another update...3rd battery lasted less than 1 week and when it failed the door sat unlocked all day, not good. Will contact Schlage for replacement, but do not like to have to return things and pay shipping
I timed my installation of this at a surprizing 15 minutes, including removing the old doorknobs and reversing the handles on the keyless entry. Usually everything takes twice as long with me! The only hard part was deciding which door to put it on- the main house entry or an outbuilding I use a lot.
An earlier review stated that the lock shuts down for 5 minutes after four consecutive missed entries of combinations. I timed mine at 30 seconds shutdown, confirmed in the owner's manual.
The thing is made well, heavy duty even. Easy to program and delete combinations. I was hoping to gain entry a tad quicker by "swiping" a finger across four digits in a row, but this won't allow that; it wants a discret push of a number on the keypad with a very short time between entries. So it takes 3-4 seconds to open the door.
No complaints, but I await the day the 9V battery gives out and I have to remove the inside portion of this lock to replace it. Then I may have my first gripe!
P.S. - I paid $118 (on sale) for mine in bright brass at Lowe's, Jan.'09.
Having just purchased a new home and in need of replacing the locks, we did a great deal of research on the various companies before settling on Schlage. Of course, they are a decent mid-level quality lock and there are much more secure, and much less secure lock ratings than found within this line (i.e., commercial, etc). We selected this keyless lock to use on an outdoor utility/laundry shed with the intention of being able to access laundry the laundry room easily without the need for keys. It has been wonderful, and we enjoy the bronze colored finish a great deal. I have heard that it can peel and crack, so be sure to keep your receipts in a safe place, or your original packaging, should you need to send it back to Schlage for warranty work (there is a lifetime warranty, as far as I am aware).
The lock is easy to program and uses a 6 digit master code for this purpose. You can store 2 four digit entry codes in the lock at at time, and they can be changed using the 6 digit code. As others have mentioned, this is useful when contractors need access to the home. For example, we were able to have the sprinkler system repair guy do some work on the house because of this.
As for the battery life, I can't comment much on it, except to say that we are still on the battery that came with the unit and it has been about 2 months. I would note, however, that we do not use this system on an entry door to the main house. Rather, it is in a location where it is not used every day. Nevertheless, we live in a very hot climate, which usually kills batteries at a faster rate, and have not encountered a problem with the lock as of yet.
Thus far, we have been very pleased. If I encounter any problems, I will be sure to update the review, but at present, I am very satisfied. A note of caution - be sure to retain the instructions included with the lock, as they contain the 6 digit code necessary to change the entry codes. If you happen to misplace this, you will need to take the lock apart to get the code, as it is inside of the lock.
I had all the same positive reactions listed by others when I installed this. After I had been using it about six months, the 1-4 digits stopped working - when I pressed them nothing at all happened, though all the other buttons worked. This was intermittent for a while and then they quit altogether, taking me back to using a key. I called Schlage and was told that they recommend replacing the batteries every three months. Wonderful! Anyhow, I replaced the battery and guess what?! Now none of the buttons work at all! I have messed with the connections and all, but have been unable to revive it. So how do you send a lock in for repair? Just leave your door unprotected when you send it in? Anyhow, I misplaced my receipt, so I'm totally out of luck. I guess I'm just back to living with fishing out my key every time I need to get in. - Schlage - Keyless Deadbolt - Keyless Entry - Keyless Lock'

Claudia Cardinale - classic western, classic movie
This review refers to the Warner Bros DVD edition of "Badlands"...Thirty years ago, young filmakers Terrance Malick(director) and Tak Fujimoto(cinematographer)gave us an advanced preview of their extraordinary talents. And not only that, but the young stars of this film, Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek prove their acting expertise as well.Holly(Spacek), is a naive young girl who becomes enamored by the charismatic but brooding Kit(Sheen). After she is stunned by the brutal murder of her father by the man she loves, she goes on the run with him, and gets caught up in his dark world as he continues on his murder spree. This chilling story was inspired by actual events that occurred in 1958 and Spacek(who also captivatingly narrates), and Sheen capture these troubled youths with perfection and will draw you into every word. Warren Oates turns in a terrific performance as usual, as Holly's father, and of course is not in it nearly long enough. Malick and Fujimoto subtly and artfully create a film, that puts the viewer right there in those "Badlands" of Montana, and that 30 years later will still have you fascinated. The transfer onto DVD is good. There are times when the film shows it's age, but for the most part the clarity and color is fine. The sound remastered in Dolby Digital 5.1, although distinct could still be improved on.The music was outstanding but occassionaly the background noises made the dialouge hard to hear. Neither of these things were enough to take away from the enjoyment or flow of the film, and overall it looks great for a 30 year old film. I would recommend this DVD to anyone who appreciates fine film making.Thanx and enjoy....Laurie Badlands [VHS]
Kit and Holly are presented in this story by Terrence Malick as total innocents, living in a prelapsarian state, completely unaware of right and wrong, good and evil, and ignorant of guilt or sin. They have minimal conception of the consequences of their actions; in effect, they appear almost totally to lack imagination or foresight, and can barely empathise with each other, let alone other people. Things just happen, as Holly sees it. Kit doesn't feel hostility to the people he kills: they are merely in his way. There is no remorse. He is only marginally conscious that the structured world outside his own will eventually catch up with him. These kids are like Adam and Eve, with a limited knowledge of what is forbidden, but no real knowledge of the meaning of life and death. Holly throws out her sick catfish, showing no feeling. Her dog is shot as a punishment by her father, indicating he, too, is careless of death or pain. Kit stands on a dead cow, as though puzzled by its absence of life. Neither of the two seems to cry or laugh much. In one way these characters might also be thought of as throwbacks to a prehistoric, animalistic past, where the younger man simply eliminates the older, in order to secure a mate for himself. Just the way of nature, and beyond criticism. Apparently, so I've read somewhere, this is the mindset of the criminal, who cannot see what he is doing wrong. He has to get by, somehow, and takes the easiest path. Why work, when you can steal? If obstacles arise, eliminate them. People are OK, otherwise. Live now, die later. This is an extraordinary film, superbly acted.
It's extremely rare for a company to outright lie on a DVD case, but here they most certainly did. This is not anamorphic ("enhanced for widescreen TVs") widescreen, as it says on both the DVD case and the label on the DVD itself. It's not even widescreen- it's 1.33:1, full screen. Disgusting, Warner Brothers. Amazon should NOT be selling this.
This is an amazing directorial debut, as the film works on so many fronts. It is both a love story and a crime drama, with sneak peaks at what makes the two main protagonists tick. It remains for the audience to decide who is the more chilling and disturbed of the two characters, twenty five year old Kit (Martin Sheen) or fifteen year old Holly (Sissy Spacek). This is a film in which two unlikely characters become lovers. Kit, a James Dean-like loser espies the fresh-faced Holly twirling her baton one day and is smitten. He approaches her and, despite her initial reluctance, she begins to see him against her protective father's wishes. Kit is ten years older than Holly, a high school drop out from the wrong side of the tracks, who is unable to maintain a job and appears to have a limited future. He falls in love with Holly and wants her to be his exclusively. Eventually, they become lovers. Holly, a loner who has been raised by her father since her mother died many years ago, lives a middle class, materially comfortable existence. Her father, while he no doubt loves and cares for her, lacks a certain sensitivity. His idea of punishing Holly for disobeying him is to shoot her dog in cold blood. When her fish is dying, his solution is to toss it into the yard while it is still gasping for breath, replacing it with a new fish. Holly's naive, fresh-faced, freckled countenance belies a soul that has atrophied. It is as if Holly were disconnected from her feelings. When Kit tries to talk to the father about his feelings for Holly, he is told in no uncertain terms to hit the road. Kit then decides to leave and take Holly with him. Kit enters Holly's house one day, packing a suitcase of her things in anticipation of their departure, when Holly and her father unexpectedly arrive home. Kit and Holly's father have a confrontation, that ends badly for dear old dad. It is here that the film first signals Holly's detachment as being something other than naivete. Her reaction is mind boggling. It is even more horrific than Kit's reaction. Or is it just shock? You be the judge. They initially live an almost Thoreauesque existence in the woods, living off the land, reading, and spending lots of quality time together, until this, too, begins to pall. Discovery of their idyll by law enforcement officers drives them out, and they begin a chilling killing spree across the Badlands of South Dakota and a life on the lam. While it is Kit who does all the actual killing, it is, to my mind, Holly who is the more complex and frightening character. Her prosaic and banal conversation, as well as a lack of empathy in the most heinous and disturbing of circumstances, is most unsettling. This is reinforced in the film through a voiced-over, almost toneless, detached narration by Holly of the events that took place. It is a masterpiece of point and counterpoint, chilling in its very telling and understated irony. When they are eventually caught, Holly remains impassive, while Kit relishes his celebrity and oozes charm, winning over his captors. Martin Sheen's performance is nothing short of brilliant, while Sissy Spacek is mesmerizing with her ability to chill the viewer. This is an expertly crafted film with an ingenious use of music. The director even manages to utilize the music of Erik Satie (Gymnopedies 3) most effectively, however unlikely it may seem. Like the music of Erik Satie, the film is multi-textured and deceptively complex. Bravo! - Classic Movie - Charles Bronson - Classic Western - Classic'

Ge Z-wave Lighting Controller - internet thermostat, vera
Bought the 3-way set and NOT happy with it. I like it's simple style and price point. I actually like the primary switch, the relay is QUIET compared to the noisy Intermatic switches. I find the blue LED a cool nightlight color. As a single-pole switch, I think it's probably good.
However it's NOT a drop-in replacement for existing 3-way switch setups. You will end up having to make some changes, tying the line+load together at switch #1, and providing neutral connects at both switches. Not a huge problem, but this one is:
THE AUXILIARY SWITCH HAS A DISTANCE LIMIT!
Try as I might, I could not get the auxiliary switch to work because it was "too far" from the primary switch. The signalling over the traveller wire is apparently not reliable over longer runs. If only it had mentioned on the box about a distance limit I might not have spent the last 3 hours trying to get it to work. Oh well, off to find a more reliable switch setup.... GE 45614 Z-Wave 3-Way On/Off Switch Kit
Quick Review:If you're converting your 3-way light switches to z-wave controlled ones but want to use fluorescent bulbs, this is the answer. Installation is easy enough once you understand how the switches and light fixtures are wired together. Get them for around $50 here on Amazon.Full Review:I decided to start switching over my home to use z-wave for home automation and needed to find light switches to use around my house. After reading some of the reviews for the 3-way dimmer version of this switch, I opted to go for these to convert my home. I already have fluorescent light bulbs for almost every light fixture and being able to dim most of the lights was not a priority for me.This product is just a GE 45609 Z-Wave Wireless Lighting Control On/Off Switch packaged with an auxiliary switch (GE 45610) so that you can have it control a 3-way (or 4-way, you'll need another aux switch) circuit. It's meant to replace and EXISTING 3-way circuit without any new wiring required. I used these instead of the GE 45613 Z-Wave Technology 3-Way Dimmer Switch Kit due to the fact almost every single light in my house is florescent. To wire the primary switch, you need to have ground, neutral, line (hot), load (to the light), and a travel wire leading to the other switchbox where the aux switch will be located. The aux switch only needs a ground, neutral, and the travel wire that leads back to the primary switch. Now you should be able to check your wiring and verify you have all the needed wires before tearing everything apart. For me, all the neutral wires were bound together, capped off, and shoved to the back of the box.I have installed a total of 3 of these sets now. The first one I installed was one I had ordered from Amazon's warehouse which had been opened and returned (I'm cheap, I'll save $5-10 every chance I get). I spent the better part of 2 days trying to figure out why I couldn't get it working. Finally the idea dawned on me to see if the primary switch worked properly on it's own. Nope, it was DOA, so back to Amazon it went (No that's not the reason I took away a star). Next up, a brand new one. So the brand new one went in as did the aux switch and worked perfectly. Total installation time for the first switch? About 9 hours of me wanting to break things because the first (used) switch was broken and about 30min to install the second (new) switch along with the aux switch. The next 2 sets of 3-way's I installed only took about 15-20min each now that I had the wiring down. I'm not a professional electrician but I'm sure if I kept at this, I could have them installed in about 10min.I think the directions could be expanded to include a few other ways a 3-way circuit can be wired as they only have a diagram showing one of the ways it could be wired. Lack of proper documentation for products is a major annoyance to me and the reason I docked a star. Seriously, pay someone for the extra 2 hours it would take to be thorough for your documentation.Another thing I feel need to mention because I've seen it in other reviews on here is the distance limitation between the switches. One of my switches is about 18 feet apart straight-line distance across the room. This doesn't account for the extra 4' on either end to get up the wall to the ceiling or the fact I have a vaulted ceiling it has to cross. The shortest my wiring can possibly be is ~30'and my aux switch has no issue turning the light on and off. Quick hints:
-Wire in the primary after removing both switches from the old 3-ways and make sure it will turn on and off the light. Then you can move on and install the aux switch.
-Mark the wires as you take them off the switch!
-Check and double-check you're hooking up the correct wire to the correct spot on the switch. You'll feel stupid having to undo it all when you mix up the line and load wires.
-If you have 2 or more of these installed next to one another, you'll need to break off the tabs on the side so they can fit close enough together to put the decorative plate over them. Only break off the ones you need to get them to fit.
-For double- and triple-gang installations, I just daisy-chained the neutral (same with the hot/line) because it was just easier than pulling out the whole bundle for me. (No idea if this follows local wiring code but it's working just fine.)Other Thoughts; The blue LED isn't extremely bright and doesn't bother me. By default, it is ON when the switch if OFF and OFF when the switch is ON. It can help someone unfamiliar with the light switch location to find it in the dark. If you have an advanced remote, you can switch it so the LED is ON when the switch is ON. You can also install the switch upside-down and flip it to the correct way using an advanced remote. I haven't tested either of these because the default is what I needed.I have paired these switches to a couple different types of remotes and it has worked fine with all of them, A Go Control panel, one of the basic GE remotes, and a Intermatic HA-07 remote. Hurray for interoperability! You can hear the relay in the switch click when your turn it on and off. Not really a big deal because my old switches clicked when I flipped them on and off. I think you might notice it a lot more if you use the remote to turn the lights on and off. I've gotten used to it and barely even notice it anymore. These take up a lot more space in the electrical boxes but I didn't have any issues with not being able to get them to fit properly. - Zwave - Home Automation - Internet Thermostat - Vera'

Universal Laptop Ac Adapter - notebook power adapters, chargers
I wrote a review the day it arrived, but now I'm revising it. PLEASE READ!
It arrived on time, and it worked great, but IT BROKE AFTER ITS FIRST USE! The round metal tube on the adapter head that plugs into the laptop broke off the adapter head after I unplugged it from my laptop. In fact, the tube tip was still stuck in my laptop port!
The reason why I gave the instruction manual 3 out of 5 stars is because a couple of the the black and white pictures were hard to understand. The contrast was way too dark, making it difficult to see which part goes where.
As for portability, it's a bit on the heavy, clunky size. Measurements for the black bar: 5 1/2" (14 cm) X 2 1/4" (5 1/2 cm) X 1 1/4" (2 3/4 cm). Weight of black bar: 9 1/4 oz. (265 g).
In short: DO NOT BUY THIS!!!
I ended up going to Best Buy and bought the ROCKETFISH TRAVEL LAPTOP AC POWER ADAPTER KIT for $40. Yes, it's more expensive, but it comes with 10 adapter heads, works great, and it's much more slim and lightweight than this one. UNIVERSAL ADAPTER LAPTOP Notebook AC ADAPTER Charger for HP COMPAQ ASUS NEC TOSHIBA ACER IBM GATEWAY SAMSUNG SONY FUJITSU?90W
This item is a piece of junk! The cord it came with didn't even work, I had to use my own cord. Then after a couple weeks, it started smoking and the power unit itself started melting. I would return it, but the cost to return it makes it not worth returning. Terrible terrible item.
It does bend easily,I will give people that one.If you drop it a lot or step on it, it will break or bend.Caution is always needed with everything(specially this thing, since the metal part of the adapter is very cheap and the price is cheap too).naturally you know that the quality is NOT going to be the same. The adapters could be numbered or labeled to show which one is which, but it really isnt a huge issue. It doesn't take hours to find the correct adapter.I recommend this product IF you need a temporary charger(3-6 months maybe?). EX. a college student who is tight on money and wants a quick replacement till they get their paycheck.DON'T expect this to be an actual replacement of your original charger. You will end up spending more money replacing these than getting an original charger at your local computer store.
Do not buy this product. I bought it because I needed a universal charger for my HP laptop and didn't want to pay the $75 as many other customers have stated. I regretfully ignored the poor reviews of this product because of the low price. The first time I used this product the "box" part got so hot that it actually melted and left a dark black spot on my wood table. Had I not smelt the melting plastic and unplugged the cord my house could have easily caught fire. PLEASE do NOT buy this item. Not only is it a bad product but it is unsafe and should be pulled from the market. I will be contacting the CT Attorney General regarding this matter.
I bought the universal charger for my computer and used it for 2 days and it completely stopped working. There is a green light that should light up when its plugged in and it doesn't light up or charge my computer. Faulty merchandise.
My old Dell charger completely stopped working, so i went to Fry's and found an 80 dollar universal charger, works great, but still wanted something cheaper so i bought this "universal" charger, hoping i can still return the expensive one. So it came without the little sticks shown in the picture that was supposed to hold the set volt that you pick, then looking at the crappy instruction manual, it just tells me to pretty much plug in whatever fits. Then the worst part; NOTHING fitted. Dell was specifically listed in item description, but it does not fit!! I want my money back, this was a waste of money. On the other hand, it does fit my Toshiba laptop, but I don't even need it for that one!
I bought this universal adapter after looking at other versions at my local electronics store that cost over $100. I'd also looked into odering a replacement adapter from the company that manufactures my computer and again, the cost was too high. So... I decided to give this one a try and I'm glad I did. I've owned it for about 10 months now and never had an issue. It was easy to use right out of the package and came with many sizes of tips so that I could find exactly the right one to use. I saved the others, though, after my mother-in-law needed to use it on her machine. I highly recommend it.
Well one thing I will say about this ac adapter is the price is very reasonable. The one issue I had with it was the tips aren't very durable. They are easily bendable and I wish I had known this before I purchased this item. I've only had this for a few days and already I've had problem with the tips bending easily. Just my personal experience though. - Laptop Power Adapters - Notebook Power Adapters - Chargers - Universal Laptop Ac Adapter'

Digital Recorder - olympus digital recorders, mac compatible
I ordered this recorder so I could record a class in which the professor talks extremely fast. I try to sit near the front, and this recorder picks up her voice impressively well. I was worried about background noise, but this recorder does better than expected.
The only thing I would do to improve this recorder is to have a way to put the class on to a computer so I could then put it on my mp3 player. But, maybe there is a way to do this, and I just haven't figured it out yet...
Overall, I have been impressed and would recommend this recorder. Olympus VN-7000 Digital Voice Recorder 142645 (Silver)
I bought this for my 91-year-old mother, who has macular degeneration and was complaining that she couldn't write notes to herself as reminders because she couldn't read them afterwards. She loves this recorder, which is why I gave it five stars (I haven't seen it, because I live far away). It's small, light, and easy to use. She carries it in her pocket so it will always be handy. She thinks it would be a great gift for anyone, whether they can see or not!
This is a quality product and it works very well. Olympus built a quality voice recorder in this model. The only reason I returned it was because this particular model does not offer the ability to get your recordings off of it and onto your PC. Everything stays on the recorder. But for the price, if you just need to record a meeting or class session for quick playback later this is a great deal! It even comes with its own padded carrying case. It is a good deal if it is what you need!
I love this voice recorder and could not be more pleased. Iv'e always wanted one and found a great one at the best price. It has great fetures with the four different files option and quick reference option to play back just what you want. I will recommend this to anyone.
I do not own this unit. However, for those who want to transfer their recordings to their PC, you should be able to get a cable at Radio Shack or a similar supplier to connect from the headphone jack on the unit to the mic or line in on your PC. If you use a mic or microphone input on the PC, keep the volume low on the Olympus so the sound will not distort. You may have to fiddle a bit to find a balance between background noise and overload distortion. Use whatever recording program you like on your PC to save the sound in whatever format you prefer. If the Olympus uses the low impedance of a set of headphones to automatically turn on, get a Y adapter and plug your headphones into one side and your cable to the PC in the other. Messy, but it should work and you can monitor what is actually coming out of the player to make sure you have something going to your PC!
This little wonder is phenomenal for the price. It is absolutely perfect if you are a nosy wife and don't have a lot of money to spare and are not computer savvy and able to understand how to connect it to a pc the way I don't. It has a timer so you can throw it in your spouse's car under the passenger seat and it has a supersonic hi pick up audio and you set the timer for when it should turn itself on and begin recording and shuts off when you set the timer to shut it off. I have monitored my husband on his boys night out and thank God I only heard his rowdy friends in the car. This is amazing. Buy it and put your mind at ease. - Digital Recorder - Mac Compatible - Digital Voice Recorder - Olympus Digital Recorders'

Blizzard - warcraft, prepaid
The price as the time writing this review is $23 for 2 months, that gives you about $11.50 per month. The cheapest you can get from WoW official website is $12.99/month, only IF you pre-paid for 6 months.
So pre-paid for 2 months at $11.50/month vs pre-paid 6 months at $12.99/month, you do the math.
I had to say I was a little bit turn off by what Blizzard did to me few minutes ago, I posted on their forums the link to this Amazon deal, it was deleted in 3 minutes. I know they're trying to protect their monthly fee, but it's kind of childish and immature, IMO. Just let you guys know here, you're the judge. World of Warcraft 60 Day Pre-Paid Time Card
My wife and I use these to keep our playing habit under control. We have to make a conscious decision every 60 days to keep going, and we get to keep our credit card information to ourselves.
As others have mentioned, however, this is extraordinarily wasteful. They are overpackaged and the entire package and everything in it hits the landfill the second the code is entered.
Ideally Amazon could just show us the code on their site; they're doing a lot of other digital delivery these days.
Hence three stars: five, minus two for the sickening inefficiency.
Okay, this is pretty straightforward. By paying for WoW using these prepaid game cards you get the game cheaper than if you pay month to month using a credit card. On top of that you get the added security of not having to give your credit card info for your subscription. For parents of young people who play the game this is even better, ensuring that your personal information will stay hidden in case the account is hacked. And remember, these cards ship free if you buy over $25 worth, so keep that in mind. Overall this is just a great value, and a cheaper way to feed your MMORPG craving.
I remember 2 years ago when there was all this hype over the MMO battle between Everquest 2 and World of Warcraft. Everquest had the experience, but the creators of Warcraft had only produced award winning games. Not a loser in the bunch.
Then the fateful day came, and it wasn't even close. Most people went straight to Warcraft, and those who bought Everquest defected.
At the time of this writing there are 9 million people who are playing online Warcraft. I quit 2 times, but came back because it appears that no company is in a position to overtake them.
If you like online fantasy games, World of Warcraft is top of the line, very addictive. Not recommended if you already have a solid marriage and children. This game takes up a lot of free time.
This has been a consistently good deal at 24.99 with the free super saver shipping by adding to an order or buying two. Now the price has gone up and honestly, theres no reason to get this if it isn't 25 or less. Adding time from the Blizzard website is instant for .01 more. Game cards were actually on sale for 19.99 locally and I stocked up. Maybe Amazon will follow suit.
Currently a subscription to WoW costs:
$15 a month on the per month plan, $14 a month on a 3 month plan, $12 a month on a 6 month plan, this 60 day prepaid at $23 (23% off on sale) works out to: $11.50 per month!
Other then being cheaper (at the moment) if you go with one of the extended (3 and 6 month plans) and decide to quit the game there is no refund for unspent time. On the 3 month plan you're going to be out $28 (for 2 months) at worst and on the 6 month plan you could be out $60 (for 5 months) if you quit in the month of the billing cycle.
So your costs are less, and so is your exposure. The only drawback is: you'll need to get another card in 60 days or sign up for the month to month plan while you wait for your next card to arrive.
It turns out, month to month is cheaper then anything, except the 60 day card, if you count money lost when you decide to quit the game but have a couple of months outstanding.
This is an excellent game and I wish Blizzard offered better pricing for pre-paying for 6 or 12 months. But their pricing is still the best deal apparently.
I have come across some supposedly "Low Price" deals here and after adding shipping, the prices are simply outrageous. For example, one online retailer offers each card for $21.88 then adds almost $8 PER CARD for shipping making the final price almost $15 per month. Why not just get Blizzard's deal?
I buy these for my son so he can play WoW and I don't have to worry about someone jacking his acocunt and somehow finding a live credit card number.
Come to think of it, I should probably do it with mine...
this is a game code on a credit card sized card. WHY THE BIG BOX!? Yes, I understand it's a retail shelf box, but couldn't Amazon work a deal with Blizzard to get some kind of simple lightweight (GREEN) product version to ship? come on... - Prepaid - Warcraft - Blizzard - Wow'

This premium blade is better than the one the original shaver came with. The first blade was fine and worked well, but I like how this one is much smoother on the skin. In summary, I will buy this again. MANGROOMER Do-It-Yourself Electric Back Hair Shaver Premium Replacement Head
I ordered this new Premium Blade recently as my original has always been very rough on my skin and always left me with marks and bit me alot. This blade is way smoother on my skin and does not bite me now. Yes I could not fit the head to my mangroomer as some have complained about so what I did is take the spring mechanism out and the blade comes out, transfered it to my original head and no problems at all. The new head would not go on right which almost left me in disappointment but with some thought just take the blade out and move it to original head, works perfect. I see how the blade is improved by it not being as exposed to pinch the skin like before, they improved it by moving the actual cutters below the top metal teeth so no way it will pinch me anylonger or bite me. So if you can't fit this new head on your original Mangroomer don't worry just take that spring thing off and take the blade out of new head and move it to old head and there you go fixed and ready to cut your backhair very smoothly and with no marks anylonger. So yes this new blade system is a major improvement. I am still using my original Mangroomer that I have owed for over 3 years now and I use rechargeable batteries and the batteries last very long.
IMPORTANT: Buy from Walmart the Shaver Saver spray lubricant in the shaver section and before each shave spray the blades and also after each shave spray the blades again while unit is on and your blades will last a very long time and will not have to be replaced for a very long time.
The good reviews about the backshaver convinced me to give it a try. It works really well. I have to make sure that I let the shaver do the work and not "scrape" which makes small light marks on the skin (no big deal, actually). I got the hang of it fast and use it with and without a mirror. Practice makes it even easier over time. I have had mine for a month. I highly recommend it.
Bought the premium head with the back shaver becuase of the Amazon deal and happy that i did. It seems to be a little better than the first one on the Mangroomer. I don;t really know what the problem was putting in on that others have written, but my snapped oin pretty easy and just followed the instructions on the package. Anyhow, the point is that it is worth $10 and I will buy again next year wehen i think this one is getting dull. - Grooming - Back Hair - Mens Grooming - Man Groomer'

Usb Flash Drive - cruzer, flash drive
I have always bought Sandisk Flash products but this one though have a good capacity, it is too slow. The website also does not advertise what the speed is and perhaps that is the reason. Anyhow, too disappointing. SanDisk Cruzer 32 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive SDCZ36-032G-A11
I presume the same is also true for a PC, but this thing is slower than slow for writing a lot of (little) files. I'm copying just over 16 GB of files. There are likely half million total files in various folders. To copy that over to an external hard drive took some fraction under an hour. With this flash driver, it's been nine hours so far and it's only at 2.5 GB. Even burning the data as 3 DL DVDs was much quicker. This drive is a terrible way to share data -- although as a stealth attack on the sanity of you least favorite co-working, it might just do the trick...
Geek details: This is on a 1.83 ghz Mac mini under a stock install MacOSX 10.5.8 with the flash drive hooked directly into the back of the machine, with no other USB peripherals attached. The copy is via two terminal windows "cp -R" commands, which I used after seeing that a copy via drag and drop using the Finder was even slower. The cp jobs show 98% cpu usage via "top" and on the Activity monitor.
Years ago I looked for a 2GB USB flashdrive with a keychain attachment and no detachable cap, and settled on the Cruzer. It worked out well. Though the keychain attachment was tiny and the included keyring flimsy, I was able to find a tiny standard keyring that worked fine. Years later I upgraded to an 8GB, which also worked out well, using the same keyring I'd used found for the 2GB.
But recently I decided to upgrade to a 32GB, and that didn't work out so well. They've gone to a new style, with two problems:
First, the keychain attachment is extremely tiny. It won't accept any normal keyring, as the old one did. It will only accept a slender string, such as on some lanyards. That makes for a bulky, floppy keychain attachment. I figured they just didn't have room for it after cramming in all that capacity, but I was wrong; see below.
Second, the write times are glacial. It isn't just the large capacity, as is often suggested. Sandisk made 16GB versions in both the old style and in the new style. See the reviews of those who tried both -- the new-style 16GB has much slower write times than the old-style 16GB write times.
So how I did I learn that I had been wrong that they didn't have room for a bigger keychain attachment? Here's how:
One day I got distracted and left it in the computer. My wife sat down to use the computer, and my 4yo walked up to her to ask for something. Next, he noticed the Cruzer sticking out of the computer and, having no idea what it was, his creative 4yo mind decided it might make a good seat. That was the end of my Cruzer. In an effort to salvage the data, the most recent of which I had not backed up, I took the Cruzer apart. On doing so, I was irritated to find that:
There is LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of room for a MUCH, MUCH, MUCH bigger keychain attachment. Enough room for one of the biggest keychain attachments in the industry, without making the overall dimensions any larger. It's idiotic and unacceptable that they have gone to such a tiny keychain attachment.
When I saw that, I decided that my replacement would not be another Sandisk, even after briefly condidering an old-style 16GB. I've gone with a 32GB Lexar "JumpDrive TwistTurn". It has a very large keychain attachment, and no detachable cap. And the reviews seem to indicate faster write times than the Cruzer. I'm not excited about it's "jackknife" layout, compared to the Cruzer's retracting layout, but beggars can't be choosers. If you search for a USB drive with (1) a large keychain attachment, (2) no detachable cap, (3) many user reviews that indicate good reliability, and (4) many user reviews that indicate good performance, the field is VERY narrow.
Goodbye, Cruzer. We knew ye well. And you have failed us.
====================
Update:
I've now been using the Lexar JumpDrive TwistTurn for several months, and it's working out fine. The performance is fast, and it's great to have the big keyring attachment.
I would still prefer the Cruzer's retracting layout to the TwistTurn's jackknife layout -- I feel like I have to be more careful not to bump it when it's sticking out of the back of the laptop -- but it's okay. Also, I had to wrap some electrical tape around the inner part to make it stay in the closed position intead of flapping open every time I pulled my keys out of my pocket, but that was a quick and cheap fix.
I would highly recommend the Lexar JumpDrive TwistTurn as a much better alternative to the new-style Cruzer if you're looking for a big keyring attachment, no detachable cap, fast performance, and reliability.
2nd Update:
The hinge seems to be a weak spot. When I bought it used almost 8 months ago and opened the package, one of the hinges was loose and I saw that it was broken. But I pushed it back in and it seemed to be fine, so I didn't worry about it. But yesterday one of the hinges fell out and was lost, and the other one is broken, and it barely stayed together. Then, less than a day later, the 2nd hinge fell out and it too was lost, and without the hinges it comes apart easily.
I've emailed Lexar to see if they'll send me replacement hinges, but I'm not holding my breath. I'll probably have to look for a cheap, used low-capacity TwistTurn and cannibalize its hinges.
For now, I removed the paper from two old wire twist-ties, wound them together to make a longer one, routed it through the hinge holes (you have to bend the wire to get around the circuit board), then routed it through the keyring hole, and twisted it fairly tight, making a tight wire ring wrapped through the two holes, holding the two parts together. It stays together well enough and pivots easily enough, but obviously it's very crude.
I keep the Lexar on my keyring, so it does get rough treatment. I'd still recommend it but with some caution due to the hinges. I don't know whether mine was abused by the original owner; if it was, then maybe a pair of unbroken hinges would work fine for me.
If anyone at Lexar is reading this -- this could all have been avoided by either of two ways:
-- Spending another penny to make the hinges from a slightly more flexible, less brittle plastic, or:
-- Making the TwistTurn 3/8" longer, so that the hinges could go all the way through and connect to each other, and so be much stronger; instead of being blocked by the circuit board. - Cruzer - Usb Flash Drive - Sandisk - Flash Drive'

Motorola Droid - usb cable, usb
I bought this USB cable to plug my cell phone into its charger as well as into my computer. It won't stay in.
The Micro B end of the cable has a very huge box around it, which works ONLY IF the device you're plugging it into has a flat area around the edges. If your cell phone has a slight slant to the outer casing of the USB port, it will not fit in at all, or will constantly slide off.
The cable really should have had a narrow end, it really shouldn't be necessary to have a thick end on the cable! AmazonBasics USB Cable - 2.0 A Male to Micro B (6 Feet / 1.8 Meters)
When I was looking for a set of cables to charge my EVO 4g I looked at Sprint and then here. Amazon provides the same high quality as any OEM material at a price that can't be beat. I was able to purchase 3 of these cables and a car charger for the price of ONE charger through Sprint.
Pros
- they work; not all the cables you can buy at Amazon actually work for PC-phone data (hint - cheap, 1 meter long)
- build quality is fine
- the micro B end connector label is raised, which makes it easy to plug it in by feel; this is saving my phone jack lots of abuse
Cons
- these would be cheaper and generate way less trash if they shipped in bubble envelopes
Each of my two cables was packaged in its own cigar box. The cigar boxes came in an enormous box filled with lots of little air bags so nothing could rattle. I was astonished when I found my back-ordered cables inside. I thought I'd be in trouble for opening something my wife ordered.
I purchased 4 of these cables from amazon. Have received many of their basic usb cables before and been satisfied. Two of the four cables fried out from shorted wiring. Just the large usb was plugged in and nothing on the micro side. Have returned them and would not recommend these micro usb cables.
I bought this to replace a Kindle cord that broke within the first couple of weeks. This has also quit working after only a weeks worth of use. I'm done with Amazon made cords. I have owned three kindle cords that all quit working within a month. This one was even worse.
I will be moving to a more expensive and hopefully much more reliable product.
It's a cable, and it's designed to connect things. It connects things (such as my Droid X and my computer). It's also got an Amazon logo, which is kind of neat. Seems to be of better-than-average quality, so it should last a while. - Usb Cable - Usb - Usb Cables - Cable'

Home Security - wireless camera, home security
I purchased this system for my father, as he was having trouble with a neighbor and didn't feel comfortable leaving his home for long periods of time. The system was very easy to set up and worked pretty well as long as we where there. However, with movement, the signal does bounce all over the place, as it does when going from day to night. Also, the receiver gets very warm, which did surprise me. I don't know that I would trust it without being there for the majority of the time it's running, but it would be great to set up in a backyard to watch over your kids while they play. Wireless Color Spy Video Camera Complete Package
Okay, so, as advertised, this package came complete, down to two little mounting screws for the camera.
Camera (mounted to a small stand) with color video and single mic also includes mounting screws, a 9vdc power adapter and a 9v battery adapter.
Receiver includes video out, mono out, tuning knob, antenna, and 9v power adaptor.
Also included is a double male RCA cable to connect receiver to vcr or TV.
I also got a generic 9v battery to test everything out. I set everything up and connected the receiver to a small portable display. I eventually got sound, but no picture. My initial setup was with the 9v battery, and I think it may have been a bit underpowered as I got no video. But once I switched to the power adaptor, the video popped right on.
color, 4:3 aspect, mono sound. All good. I'll update with ranges.
To me this isn't really a toy. Placed in front of the entrance door, I use this as a remote camera when I get a signal from my wireless alarm system. (I use SAGETV software and this camera is a separate source). Pros: easy to install, small, not noticable to many, complete of chargers (if it was for batteries, it would have really been a toy); Cons: Suffer intereference, image may disappear for some seconds then come again, but for what I am using it, it is great
this is a very nice camera works really well was easy to assemble the picture is very gud havent had a problem with it so far just recieved it got it because had a problem with people messing with my car but now i feel a little better i have this
I got this for Christmas and its really fun. If its the camera gets to far from the receiver it gets blury but near it is really good quality. Overall I would say get this it is really fun to use and i recommend it.
I purchased this is a remote camera for a robotics project, and so far the camera looks like it works well. The problem I have is that I did not get the 9V battery plug for the camera, making it usable only with the AC plug, as I want to place this on a mobile platform you can see why I rate down for this. Overall the camera seems good, but keep in mind that it may not have the 9V battery clip.
"New high power 1.2 GHz technology provides 300 feet range with solid stability"
Deascription states that item is 1.2ghz Item is actually 2.4ghz I bought the 1.2 and 2.4 packages and both were the same item, from the same seller and Fullfilled By Amazon. Dvd Media - dvdplusr, dvd media
I've used to have good success over the years with Verbatim quality and they used to be worth the extra few dollars. Sadly this is no longer the case, you may need to look elsewhere, I am disappointed.
This purchase from November 2010 shows the discs are now made in India, so even though they have the same product code as the ones that used to be made in Singapore or Taiwan, they are not up to the same standard.
They have a very heavy chemical "stink" to them. The few discs I have leftover from the previous Verbatim purchase have no such smell.
During burning, there are several "pauses", even at only 8x - again, only on the ones from India and not Singapore/Taiwan, with the same burner.
"Disc Quality" scan by Nero CD-DVD Speed shows many more errors on the India made discs vs Singapore/Taiwan discs.
So perhaps Verbatim sold off the rights to use their name for another manufacturer or perhaps the India factory is not up to par, but I am upset that I wasted money and trust on this purchase. Verbatim 95098 4.7 GB up to16x Branded Recordable Disc DVD+R (100 Disc Spindle)
Having brought approximately 5 or 6 hundred of these disks and in all that time only finding 1 of them to be bad; it is easy to recommend them. I have purchased many different brands before and none of them can compare. Buy these!
EDIT: This review applies to Verbatim 95098 specifically!
Bearing in mind that some media and some optical drives just do not get along, I would say that these discs (manufactured by Mitsubishi Chemical Corp.) are the closest in quality to the cream of the crop (Taiyo Yuden) that I have come across.
The thing to remember when buying blank DVD media is that brand name means little: you want a good manufacturer. For instance, I have burned some TDK media for a friend and noticed that one batch was manufactured by Ritek and another by CMC Magnetics.
I strongly suggest checking this page before you buy:
[...]
Be sure to check out the freeware tool DVD Identifier, as well, so you know who is manufacturing your media:
[...]
Hope this helps to cut back on "coasters!"
EDIT February 2011: Not sure why Amazon removed my links to websites that review and rate CD/DVD/BD media after they had been up for quite some time. I suppose a quick Googling will suffice....
I haven't written a review on Amazon in years, but I want to for this product because I am so disappointed in it and I want to corroborate what others have said about the "Made in India" discs.
I've had great luck with Verbatim media in the past; I've burned many DVD-Rs, CD-Rs, and Dual Layer DVD+Rs--and I've had virtually 100% success with them. I also have burned a few other brands (Maxell, Sony, a few Memorex) and have had very good results with them as well.
I was sure these (16x DVD+R) would be of great quality like the others, but these are honestly the worst discs I've ever used.
I haven't even finished this spindle (I have around 15 or so left), but I have already had about 20 bad discs. They seem to burn OK, but then cannot be read. I tested the bad discs in multiple players, so the players cannot be blamed. I use a good quality burner (Lite-On), use good software (K3b or GnomeBaker), burn at half the rated speed (8x for these 16x discs), and other discs (including other Verbatim products) *after* these ones have worked fine--so in my opinion, this particular media is the problem.
In fairness, the majority of these discs have actually been successfully burned. However, even if every remaining disc is good, this spindle will have a failure rate of 20%, and that is way too high. It's a waste of resources, time, and money.
Exactly which brand/maker of DVD+Rs works best for you depends on your DVD drive. I know from many reviews that Verbatim DVD+R 8x and DVD+R 16x work wonderfully with NEC 35xx drives; I have been using that combo for 1.5 years now and never had a single coaster or issue reading the data back in.
I've purchased things from Amazon before but I read some reviews about packaging and Amazon's practice of sticking air pillows on the sides instead of using peanuts underneath (the old fashioned way). As a result, many Amazon customers have reported getting spindles with a few cracked discs on top due to corner impacts during shipping! AMAZON SHOULD NOT SKIMP ON THE QUALITY OF PACKAGING IF IT WANTS TO KEEP CUSTOMERS! Some items are just too delicate to use a air pillow on the side.
I wound up buying them from Newegg instead who has a very high, well respected reputation, free shipping, and was selling the spindle for the exact same price. You just have to pay a little tax. The extra tax was worth it knowing the ITEM IS PACKAGED BETTER. A shipping box filled with a generous amount of peanuts, and the spindle buried inside. That means Newegg cares more too as far as I'm concerned. You can collect the extra peanuts in a big trash bag to use when you ship your own packages.
By the way, my Panasonic DVD recorder and LG Burner read and burn the Verbatims perfectly. - Blank Dvd Media - Dvd R - Dvd Media - Dvdplusr'

Blackberry Headset - iphone, headset
The headset mostly works well. Person on other end of call can hear me fine, and I can hear them fine using iPhone 3G. However, sometimes when inserting the plug into the phone, I have to rotate it a little to get a full connection. It can also rotate a bit in use and drop the mic or earphone feed. Seems reasonable for the cost ($9+ including shipping) compared to Apple's high cost, but not ideal and probably should work better. For a backup headset to leave in my car, I'm basically satisfied but was hoping for more. I wouldn't want to use this one everyday. If it holds up well, I would consider buying another one to keep in my travel bag or briefcase. White Handsfree Stereo Headset Headphone Earphone with Built-in Microphone Remote for Apple iPod iTouch iPhone 2G 3G Zune MP3 Player PDA
These work fine for me. They are decent headphones; not the best range but OK for the price. No one has had any problem hearing me when I call them and the hold button works well. When my original pair where destroyed by my dog, I really didn't want to spend $50 on a new set.
PROS: They work and they are inexpensive.
CONS: Sound quality is only decent.
I would purchase these again.
i really, really hate this thing... it has brought only frustration into my life. I've hade them for a month already and they are the worse thing i have ever bought... for the price i should have known better, at least i didn't pay much for them. let's go for the facts: 1)they fit weirdly in my ears (that could mean that the problem is me, but i've had earbuds before and no problem), none of the different size ear cushions fits right. 2) click button doesn't do ANYTHING. 3) when i'm listening to music and a call comes in and i answer people don't hear anything, the mic is horrendous. if i unplug the headset to use the phone normally, the call is terminated. even if i try to unplug it BEFORE answering, the call is terminated.
[...].
These headphones sound like everything is in a tunnel. really bad for anything except maybe talking on the phone. Terrible sound quality prompted me to send these back after literally 30 seconds of opening.
My refund was about 1/3rd the original cost most likely due to the amazon return policies.
I would recommend against purchasing these headphones.
I bought these at 5 Below for only $5... it's cheaply made, the plastic is very thin and light, the button doesn't work at all, and the mic barely picks up my voice.
I'm glad I only paid $5 for it and not $10!
PS- as a side note, they work well as basic music ear buds. but that's it.
The headset works well with my IPod Touch, providing me audio input and communication on my wifi connection. I use it to communicate on Skype via Fring. The sound is very good, but the mic is a little noisey. I think I might try a headset from Apple or AT&T.
I lost the buds that came with my iPhone 3G .... this seller came to my rescue. I bought 2, then 2 more a few weeks later. I keep a set in the car, at work, at the home computer, and one is away for safe keeping. Mic works well, buds feel great ... I wear these skiing for many hours at a time with a hat and goggle strap pressing on them with no pain. Comes with three different "sizes" ... I've found the smallest work the best for me. Love them. - Earphones - Iphone - Iphone Earphones - Headset'

Droid Case - screen protectors, droid case
I cannot imagine a better screen than this one for the Droid. It is a plastic cover, about 1mm thick that fits over the screen PERFECTLY. If it was any larger than the screen it would overlap the edges and look horrible. If it was any smaller, than areas of the screen would not be protected and that would also look bad.
I am really not sure why other reviewers would complain that it is EXACTLY the correct size. Seems to me like that is exactly what you would want in a screen protector.
Anyway, putting this screen on is not as difficult as people make it out to be. Basically, they provide a little anti-static sheet to wipe all of the dust and debris off your screen first. Then you have to very carefully place it on. It is true that a few specs of dust CAN create air bubbles that look bad as some other people mentioned. So basically, you have to place the screen protector on properly the very first time you put it on, otherwise the dust particles stick to the back of the screen protector and they are impossible to get off once that happens.
But here is the thing, these screens cost 1 CENT a piece. I ordered 4 of them. I used the first one as practice, accepting all of the air bubbles and debris and such. After practicing a few times with screen protector #1, I was able to get screen protector #2 on perfect the first time. The whole process took about 10 minutes from opening the box. I can't imagine anyone using more than 3 screens (and / or 15 min) to get this on properly.
Order a few extra. It looks great and works great once its on. Screen is still quite responsive to touch. High Quality Screen Protector Film Guard for Verizon Motorola Droid A855
After looking at what was available, I chose to risk the buy-one-and-hope it fits Droid screen cover. The quality seemed good out of the package, no wrinkles or smudges, but once I took it out I realized how easily I can screw this up. After cleaning the Droid I put the screen on with my second try.
Of course, I noticed a couple little pieces of dust under the screen in one corner, but after trying to bring it up real quick I bent the corner. So now I have a bent screen protector and a couple air bubbles, but I can't fault the screen protector for that, it was completely user error.
However, now that I've had the protector on for a couple days, I can tell you that the quality of the actual screen is pretty terrible. I mean, I dropped my phone twice in the past week, both times away from the screen and the protector's cleanliness never changed, but when I put my nail on the screen it's actually pretty easy to scratch it. Smudges clear up pretty easily, but it seems that if you accidentally put your phone and your keys in the same pocket, you'll be needing a new protector very soon.
I almost wish I paid for another Verizon screen protector: never had scratches on that thing.
The only thing I didn't like about this cover was that I bought 5 of them and got charged $3 for shipping each of them, and they all came in one bag...LAME!!!! :)
The cover itself is great! Protects well and is easy to install!
I was hoping these would make a great alternative to the $15 ones at Verizon...but these are awful! They're not cut properly (the corners are cut sharp whereas the Droid's screen has rounded corners) and it's impossible to fit the protector on the screen without excess hanging off. I went through 2 protectors, couldn't get the air bubbles out or get them to fit and ended up trashing them.
This screen fits perfectly, is durable, easy to apply, and completely worth the price. I switched from a Skinomi film to this one, and am so pleased that my Droid is working like a Droid again!! This screen is smooth enough so that it doesn't interfere with the screen responsiveness. It stays clean by itself as well (in other words, the dust & oils from your fingers don't inhibit you from seeing the screen) -- visibility is awesome. Highly recommended
This screen has been on my phone for almost six months already and I've had no problems with it and it doesn't look like it'll need to be replaced for another six months at least. I found it very easy to install properly--it comes with clear instructions and all the tools necessary to attach it and smooth out any bubbles. Make sure you remove the protective cover on your phone if you have one before you install. Also, it's 78 cents--basically free.
I ordered a few of these because they were cheap. They say Droid but I have a Droid 2 and figured I'd give it a shot and see if they would fit. Well they arrived today (a few days sooner than expected) and they are really close to the exact size. I put one on and it is super clear. I am pretty pleased with it so far. Now to see how long it will last.
These are by far the BEST screen protectors I have ever bought for my phone. Go on really easy, some air bubbles...I used a credit card to push them out and I dont have a single bubble... Im still using the same screen protector and I received them around August 8th!!
Worth the money, and will for sure buy more~~if I ever need too! - Droid Case - Screen Protector - Shield - Screen Protectors'
