Camera Battery - kodak
The photo had me wondering if this was a brand-name Kodak battery or a knockoff, since Amazon's photo shows the back of a battery with no Kodak markings visible. The battery I received was indeed Kodak branded, in Kodak packaging like the customer-provided photo. The back of the battery is not all black like the one in the photo above; it has orange and red bands at one end of the label. Kodak 3.7 Volt Li-Ion Rechargeable Digital Camera Battery - KLIC-7006
The camera was just ok. My older Kodak I liked much more. I tried to find another rechargeable battery for the older camera but couldn't find one.
We decided to buy another Kodak because of the performance of the 7 yr old camera.
The first thing we noticed was that the battery (Kodak brand) that came with the camera didn't last very long. So we purchased another one (Kodak brand) to take to a kid's event. The two new batteries combined didn't last ½ of the way thru the 3 hour performance. Mostly pictures were taken and a few short videos. We had non-rechargeable Duracell batteries in the older camera and it lasted thru the performance.
Because of this, we are going to try another brand and sell this 6 month old camera on e-bay.
I checked on other sites and they say the same thing about the battery that this camera uses. It does not hold a charge long and does not last very long after a few recharges. - Kodak'

Dermatologist Recommended - skin care, sensitive skin
When I find a product to be excellent, I tend to remain loyal. I may try others, but I return to the one which continues to prove it's excellence year after year. Despite more costly products I've tried as samples, Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser has been my cleanser of choice for many years. I've tried a generic brand from CVS and found it to be much more slimy and thick than the real thing and gave it away to a less scrutinizing customer.
My skin and eyes are extremely sensitive and can become dry, so I am very cautious when trying new products. This one was recommended by a dermatologist and I'm very grateful for the suggestion because it meets my desires in a cleanser. It is extremely gentle, fragrance free and can be used directly on my eyes. I apply it onto my dry face, rub it all over, including the eyelids, then rinse it off and pat my face dry. Although it comes in a pump bottle, I put a little in a sample size bottle because that takes up less space in the medicine cabinet and I never have drips fall anywhere. I wash the little bottle to keep it germ free. I gave a large bottle to my sister because she was so impressed by the cleansing power, too. Her initial reaction was that it was a little slimy, but after using it as I suggested, she agreed that it is a superior product and a bargain. In all honesty, I don't know if she's returned to using CHANEL cleanser, but I am as faithful to Cetaphil as I am to Kiehl's for all other skin care products. If you too have sensitive skin, try the Kiehl's Cucumber Tonic after cleansing for a nice treat. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, For all skin types, 16-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 2)
Cetaphil is an amazing product. Our family has been using it for the longest time. It is not sudsy like ordinary soap which makes it very easy to rinse. You will not spend a lot of time just to remove that slippery feeling when using soaps. After you dry with a face towel, you will feel the difference on your skin. Oil is gone without you face feeling stretch dry. It is very gentle it was recommended before by my wife's derma for one of my sons when he had a skin problem. It does work as a shaving lubricant too.
I've used this skin cleanser for close to 20 years and love it!!! Very gentle, doesn't dry out skin and removes makeup wonderfully. Gentle enough to remove eye makeup too. Leaves skin moisturized and soft. Be sure not to confuse with Cetaphil's Daily Facial Cleanser...totally different, but deceivingly similarly looking on the shelf.
My dermatologist gave me a free sample of this after being diagnosed with facial eczema. Here are the pros: gentle, non-irritating, fragrance free, won't burn even on inflamed skin.
Now the cons: contains parabens and SLS's. I won't get into why these chemicals are bad for us here, please take a moment to research those to form your own opinion. Also this cleanser has like a mucus texture to it. Kinda gross feeling.
It doesn't lather either. But it does remove make-up, and any other gook on your face.
I do pair this with Cetaphil Fragrance Free Moisturizing Lotion, 16-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 2), which I do recommend highly.
Bottom line is it's gentle for even the most sensitive skin, but I'm gonna keep looking for a natural alternative that won't burn my skin.
And I'll hope Cetaphil gets with the program and removes the parabens and sulfates, as a lot of other beauty products have followed suit too.
I was refereed to this product by my dermatologist. I feel in love with it. This product was created for people with "special" skin needs aka for those with sensitive, acne, rosacea, or eczema skin. I find this product is suitable for ANYONE. It will not strip your skin of moisture (especially when you need it like in winter). It does take some getting used to. IT has been related to a snot consistency :P That is pretty accurate. It will not lather with water. I find the BEST way to use it is simply to apply it and spread it all over the area you wish to cleanse(not just for the face but neck and Décolletage) and simply wipe it off with a bath facial towel. No water needed, but optional:P Super time saving and non-messy(well not not splashy) Also important it is fragrance-free, non-comedogenic and PH balanced. This product has been around for ever, its nothing fancy or snazzy , just simply the best, time tested, and DR approved. Enjoy <3
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, 8.0 -Ounce Bottles (Pack of 3)
I struggled for years with teen and adult acne. I tried everything out there and progressed to harsher and harsher products for what I thought was my acne prone oily skin. It's true my skin is oily, but after switching to cetaphil my skin cleared up. I apply it to my dry skin and than rinse it off with water. Amazed that something so cheap could work such wonders on my skin.
i've been skipping around different facial cleansers for the past 10 or so years, just getting a different brand every time i ran out. i've used products from neutrogena, st ives, clearasil, clean and clear, and even different types of bar soap. this is the only time i've ever bought a second bottle to continue usage (and these are pretty large!).
i love it- it's gentle enough to use on my face without water, but my skin is clear, and it doesn't even dry out. i can go a few hours without using toner or lotion, even though i've always dried out in a few minutes with other cleansers.
i'm also acne prone, but this has been fine with that. i think the mildness actually makes it better because my redness has never flared up, it's very gentle on the skin.
I've been using Cetaphil for 15 years and it is, by far, the best facial cleanser I have ever used. Yes, throughout the years I've been "persuaded" by cosmetics dealers in various department stores to switch to their brands, but, I always come back to Cetaphil. If you have super sensitive skin, as I do, this is the best product for you. I look forward to using this product for many years to come.
This product is also great for baby. I used it to bathe my daughter when she was a baby. She's 9 years old now and uses it everyday to wash her face.
This is a phenomenal product!!!! - Sensitive Skin - Skin Care - Personal Care - Cetaphil'

2005 Acura Rl Ceramic Brake Pad - 2005 acura rl ceramic brake pad
It looks like these rear pads fit a variety of cars. I installed them on my 2004 V6 Accord, and they're fine. The cast metal portion that the pads are mounted to are a little wide, so it took some work to get a couple of them in but they do fit.
The rear factory pads on my Accord wore out in less than 30K miles, and that surprised me. At that time, I swapped out all of the brake pads on the car and I went with cermaics because they don't leave black dust on the alloy wheels. I purchased that first set of ceramics from a national automotive chain store, and I was happy enough with them. It turns out that that first set doesn't have a lifetime replacement warranty, so I'm trying out the Wagner version this time around. The impression I have from reviews on the Web are that Wagner pads are far better than the ceramics that I previously had on the car, and the Wagner pads are also less expensive through Amazon.
The Wagner pads have a nice finish and build quality. They don't come with the shims installed like the factory pads and the last set of ceramic pads that I bought. The Wagner pads are shrink-wrapped in a box with instructions about the use (or not) of shims; no shims and no adhesive are included. I applied shims to the back of the Wagner pads and popped them onto my car. Stops the car, no black dust, and completely silent (as expected). Happy enough! Wagner QC537 ThermoQuiet Ceramic Disc Brake Pad Set
Amazon shipped the product very quickly, package arrived in great conditions.
These are for my 2007 Honda Accord rear disc brakes, replacing the original pads. So far very satisfied with these pads. Very quiet, no to no dust, leaving my alloy wheel shiny and clean. Stopping power is great, no fading, I even want to say its stopping power is a little bit better than the original Honda pads. Really like these ThermoQuiet QC series pads, would definitely use them for my other car as well.
Threw these on my 2006 Honda Accord. Fit perfect, very quiet and smooth. Did not come with shims or grease, instructions say to to use any. I still greased up the backs. So far so good, I'll post again in a month or two. - 2005 Acura Rl Ceramic Brake Pad'

Combination Co2 Smoke - smoke alarm, brk brands
Our house was wired for smoke detectors -- specifically the rather cheesy BRK 4120SB, which delights in false "low power" chirping. My goal was to replace the ones in the bedrooms with combination alarms that would alert us not only to smoke but to the presence of carbon monoxide. (Not to scare you but harm and even death from carbon monoxide poisoning are definite risks, especially in a home with deep-sleeping teenagers.)
I needed units that would be compatible with the wiring of our current system, and ideally ones that would accept the power leads, as wired. After some research here and elsewhere, I called the BRK help line and got definite information about the unit that would be compatible, as well as locations within the home where I both should and should not install units.
I ordered two units to start with, still being a bit leery of my previous experience, and can say that installation took less than 5 minutes per device.
1. Follow the instructions for removing the plastic tab in the battery door of your new unit and pushing the button to test your new unit. If all's well, proceed. Disregard the "locking pin" stuff unless you are in a shared dwelling and are concerned with someone walking off with your 9-volt battery. (This was the weirdest part of the instructions, frankly, and this is my guess on why it's there.) **Important: you are listening for 3 tones, pause, 3 tones, pause, 4 tones, pause, 4 tones. There is a typo at the bottom of page 3 of the instructions, so I've just verified with BRK that the tone pattern I'm mentioning is the correct one.
2. Twist off and unplug your current unit.
3. Back the two screws holding your collar to the ceiling so you have enough clearance to remove the collar.
4. Install the new collar.
5. Install your new unit. (A wired plug is included in case you need to swap your existing plug for the new plug.)
Fellow owners of the 4120SB will find that the upgraded unit sets and locks into place in the ceiling *much* easier and more reliably. Ditto with the battery door. Note that on the SC9120B, if you're having problems with the battery door not shutting (a) there is a little trigger tab that you should be able to push down with a fingernail and/or (b) hold the unit upside-down.
***A word, please, about longevity, since the primary purpose of an alarm is your safety.
1. Replace your batteries at least once a year.
2. Combo smoke/carbon monoxide units have a 5-year life span, per BRK staff. Regular smoke alarms have a 10-year lifespan. Not replacing them within these timespans is, in my opinion, the most dangerous kind of false economizing. (Note also that if you need help, the BRK customer service apparently has improved greatly since the experience of earlier reviewers of the product line. The call I made in June could not have been more thorough and professional, even to dealing with the phantom beeps of my 5-year-old alarms.)
3. Whether or not you buy this or any smoke alarm product, please do yourself and your family two favors. First, label the plug (hidden) side of your units with the install and replace dates. Second, change your batteries at least once a year.
BTW, I gave the unit a 4 rather than a 5 because while the battery door and twist-on/twist-off issues are less irritating than on the earlier generation, they still do exist. First Alert SC9120B Hardwire Combination Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Alarm with Battery Backup
Received three BRK SC9120B replacements after original units (4 years old) started a low battery chirp with new Duracell batteries. Spoke with BRK rep. about problem and they sent three new units with Duracell batteries. The units worked fine for about two weeks before all three started to chirp a low battery signal. In that time our other three BRK smoke only detectors that were installed 4 years ago started the same chirping sound. Again called BRK and they were going to send us three replacements for them. After the nightmare of having six four year old BRK products fail in a matter of three weeks and three brand new replacement units fail in two weeks. I would stay away from BRK! I have read elsewhere about an issue with BRK and Duracell so I was a bit surprised when the new units arrived with Duracell batteries in them.
I have a rental property and this year, the city's new regulation required installation of these detectors. One of the detectors malfunctioned and the terrified tenant called 911, who proceeded to do over 1000 dollars in property damage.
I subsequently found out that even the EPA has admitted that many of the CO detectors they tested were unreliable, and either went off at too low of a level or did not sound at dangerously high levels.
According to their website, the best way to keep the building's inhabitants safe is to have fuel-burning appliances properly installed and maintained by licensed professionals to make sure that the gases (including CO) are vented properly.
I ended up doing a lot of research related to CO as a result. I have the documentation from the Fire Department indicating the levels that they measured (WAY BELOW the low threshold on the detector) even near the detector.
I knew that a problem was unlikely since the heat wasn't even ON at the time.
Nevertheless, they broke into two apartments, destroying irreplaceable historic doors and frames. Even the fire chief told me that if I have a hard-wired smoke detector/CO detector combo, I should get it replaced as they have had false alarms with that type of detector. But as mentioned on the EPA website, and evidenced by many other reviews on Amazon etc, CO detection is apparently in it's infancy and I'm surprised that these detectors are even being sold, much less required by law.
Unfortunately, according to my lawyer, it's more trouble than it's worth to sue the city, so I had to suck up the CONSIDERABLE expenses myself. Not to mention my poor tenant, who was (unharmed of course) but anxious.
I am so ANGRY, but the only thing I can do apparently is to WARN other people about these alarms. If you have one in your house and there's a false alarm, that's one thing. But if a tenant has a false alarm, you are vulnerable in many different ways.
The WORST thing about this type of alarm is that if the CO part malfunctions, you've lost your smoke alarm as well. In addition, since it's installed high on the ceiling, if it false alarms, you have to get on a ladder to turn the thing off.
I would not recommend the first alert smoke/CO alarm to ANYONE. - Carbon Monoxide - Brk Brands - First Alert - Smoke Alarm'

Murder Mystery
I loved reading "Goodie One Shoes." It had a great story line, lots of great shoes, and loads of suspense! Plus it all takes place on New York's upper west side. I couldn't put it down and read it through in one sitting! I hope there will be more from this author! Goodie One Shoes
In Goodie One Shoes, Roz Siegel succeeds in keeping her readers on their toes as they follow her fast-paced thriller of murder and mayhem as set on the upper West Side of New York. Siegel acurately captures the soul of this neighborhood while her wonderfully-drawn heroine, Emily, offers soles (Jimmy Choos)and solace to the exotic cast of characters who make this tale a page-turner. About Goodie One Shoes ---? More, please!
Brenda Leventhal
Roz Siegel's "Goodie One Shoes" weaves together a melange of New York City's colorful upper westside characters with an assortment of fabulous "Sex in the City" shoes and a bevy of unforgettable literary heroines. It is a fun read- suspenseful and surprising.
As a woman who loves shopping for good shoes, I wish Emily's Place was in my neighborhood. Roz Siegel's depiction of New York's Upper West Side made me feel like I was right there. I thoroughly enjoyed the rhythm of her writing, literary references, and colorful characters full of mystery. I couldn't put the book down, and Goodie One Shoes left me wanting more.
Goodie One Shoes
Goodie One Shoes is a fun read for shoe and mystery addicts and everyone in between. It is an entertaining lighthearted rump through the west side neighborhood of Manhattan. I enjoyed revisiting my old neighborhood through the keen observations and details evoked in the story...and all those shoes.Goodie One Shoes
This is a book that is really hard to put down. It is suspenseful, funny and totally captures the West Side of Manhattan. It is one of the most delightful books I have read recently and I look forward to the next in what I hope will be a series.
Sue Cohen
Following the breakup of her "perfect" marriage to Larry the lawyer following his tryst with the Russian, Emily puts aside her Ph.D. to return to her roots sort of by opening an exclusive shoe store in Manhattan's 'elite Upper West Side; her dad had a shoe store for twenty-five years in Brooklyn. Emily's Place on 98th and Broadway becomes a hangout for shoe aficionados that run the social economic spectrum as the coffee is quality, the chats charming, and the merchandise spans the luxurious and the bargain.
However, someone kicks Emily's perfect world when her sweet assistant Kim Chang is murdered; the weapon is a Jimmy Choo stiletto whose matching pair is missing. NYPD suspects Emily as a potential killer as she had means and opportunity though a viable motive fails to surface. The lead police detective Paul Murphy worries that the footwear fetish fiend will target Emily next. Soon after the homicide, the culprit threatens Emily through snail and email. Finally the other Choo arrives followed by the murder of Emily's maid.
This is a fun Manhattan murder mystery starring a beleaguered woman who is under all sorts of pressure from the cops, family members, customers, a former fired employee and her late worker. The story line is lighthearted and fast-paced as Emily's still hippie sister and her still married spouse make demands of her. However, it is her demands of herself to find Kim's Choo killer that make for a lighthearted entertaining New York frolic.
Harriet Klausner
Living on the Upper West Side of New York for almost 40 years, I was very interested in reading Goodie One Shoes. I was not disappointed. I loved the Upper West Side locale, the literary references, but most of all I loved the murder mystery. It kept my attention from beginning to end. I hope Roz Siegel writes more.Goodie One Shoes
Emily Levine loves shoes. You could almost say she is obsessed with them. So opening a unique shoe store in New York's West Side could be a satisfactory way to enjoy her love of shoes.
Her marriage to attorney Larry Levine is not technically over, but they've been separated since she found him in bed with another woman. So opening the shop is a way to carve out an independent life separate from her husband.
Colorful characters arrive at Emily's Place to enjoy the special discounts of "Pre-Owned Shoes." Other unique characters include one of the employees, Merissa, and her niece Fifi.
Author Roz Siegel delivers a fast-paced mystery involving shoes, strange foot fetish snippets at the beginning of each chapter, and a sardonic sense of humor that makes Emily a fascinating first-person narrator for this story.
When women close to Emily start showing up murdered by "shoe," she has a vested interest in helping Detective Murphy to solve the case. But who is targeting Emily and those close to her, and why? As she and Murphy follow one false lead after another, it almost seems as though the case will turn cold before they find the answers. And what if they don't find the murderer before he skewers Emily herself with a designer shoe?
Goodie One Shoes had enough quirky twists to keep me turning those pages, and I definitely couldn't put this one down. I've given this story five stars for plot twists, colorful characters, and a fresh and enjoyable narrator's voice.
Goodie One Shoes was a terrifically fun read: great setting, lively characters, engrossing plot, well written. I enjoyed Roz Siegel's whit and talent, and hope to see more from her soon. Who would ever thought the marriage of shoes and murder could produce such a great mystery. Bravo!'

Christian Movies - christianity, history
I enjoyed the movie. The historical sets were great. The acting was very good. The dialogs had a ring of truth. The love story, although it was a minor part of the movie, was done well. The story needed to be told and the movie told it well. One of the bad points was the movie jumped around in Wilberforce's life quite a bit. Following the time shifts was confusing at times. As the movie went along, the plot was easier to follow.
I read a short biography of Wilberforce and I heard a talk on Newton. I can't claim any expertise on these men, but what little I know of them made me question the movie's historical accuracy. Newton had a congregation. He was not a hermit mopping up a church. He was a popular Anglican preacher. Finney does a great job in the part, but I don't think it represented Newton very well. Wouldn't a better charactorization have been a more historic protayal of Newton who was a slave trader that became a slave of Christ by serving and to preaching all? Rather than a guilt-ridden old man?
I also wished the movie spent more time on Wilberforce's conversion and beliefs. Wilberforce was a thoughtful Christian who wrote books on what he believed. Wilberforce's stamina according to Wilberforce was his reformed faith. The movie just had him studying nature in a worshipful manner in his garden.
In summary, I liked the movie and I enjoyed it. The message needed to be told and it was told well. How England avoided a bloody civil war because of this issue and resolve the issues through a peaceful process was instructive. However, Wilberforce and Newton deserved to have a more accurate protrayal of their lives. Amazing Grace
I've long been a fan of William Wilberforce - a man that God used greatly for a great cause: the abolition of slavery and the reformation of manners into the English society. Working at a private Christian school, I often refer to Wilberforce as an example to our students of what God can do with one man wholly committed to Him. In fact, I took sixteen of our students to see the movie when it was released and it had a very profound impact on their lives and thinking -- they saw with their own eyes the struggle of Wilberforce's life, the great cause to which he gave himself fully, and the great joy that comes from a life given in service to the King of Kings.
While I strongly recommend that all Christians watch this movie, parents I'll warn you that the issue of slavery isn't easy to watch or understand at a young age -- I would recommend this movie to middle school students and older, but probably not elementary-aged students.
There are some wonderful resources that you can get to accompany this movie for family discussions and devotions. While most of the Wilberforce books are lengthy, but excellent, let me tell you about a few lesser-known gems. First, John Piper has a great little 76 page book titled Amazing Grace in the Life of William Wilberforce -- great read. This same material is actually found in another book by Piper that is simply outstanding -- it is the third book in a series by Piper to reintroduce our generation to some of the great saints of the faith -- Book Three is titled The Roots of Endurance and examines the lives of John Newton, Charles Simeon and William Wilberforce. Finally, one of my favorite finds is a 5 disk CD audio drama set titled Amazing Grace produced by the Focus on the Family Radio Theatre -- you can listen to the lives of Newton, Wilberforce and Olaudah Equiano (a slave who purchased his freedom and was instrumental in the abolition movement in England).
So, purchase the movie, but also look for these additional resources to help deepen the discussion at home with your kids.
AMAZING GRACE is a beautifully mounted, well-scripted, powerful film that reminds us that there were heroes in the late 1700s who vehemently fought the fight for abolition of slavery. Benefiting from a tight intelligent script by Steven Knight and directed with great sensitivity and fluidity by Michael Apted, the film captures the flavor of the turn of the 18th century into 19th century in England when slavery was a commodity the wealthy could ill afford to lose, and how the courage and perseverance of William Wilberforce created probably one of the first human rights movements on record.
William Wilberforce (Ioan Gruffudd) witnessed the horrors of transporting slaves from Africa to be sold around the world to wealthy plantation owners and to serve as cheap and disrespected servants to the British populace. Encouraged by a previous slave dealer John Newton (Albert Finney) turned contrite priest, his friend Prime Minister William Pitt (Benedict Cumberbatch), and the informed woman of his life Barbara Spooner (Romola Garai), Wilberforce bonds with a band of abolitionists including Thomas Clarkson (Rufus Sewell) and Oloudaqh Equiano (Youssou N'Dour) and begins long years of battling for abolition in the Parliament where cads such as Lord Tarleton (Ciarán Hinds) and the Duke of Clarence (Toby Jones) fight his every word.
One of the hallmarks of this fine film is the dignity it sustains: in a film that could have easily focused on depictions of slave abuse to make its point, it instead elects to keep the focus on the heart of the struggle against the inhumanity by subtle yet powerful means. The title of the film, of course, comes form the song the reformed John Newton wrote as he had a life altering experience to end his slave trading to fight for human rights. It is a haunting reminder that is used throughout the film in the score by David Arnold. The cast is uniformly excellent with not only first class performances by each of the leads, but also by superb cameos from such fine artists as Michael Gambon, Nicholas Farrell, Sylvestra Le Touzel, Jeremy Swift, and Stephen Campbell Moore. The atmosphere of both elegance and poverty of London is captured in the cinematography by Remi Adefarasin. This is an epic film with a powerful message that deserves the attention of us all. Highly recommended. Grady Harp, November 07 - History - Biography - Christianity - Slavery'

Cable Management
i used to struggle to keep my cords on the desk and would just put them under my monitor stand so they won't fall behind my desk. I have a laptop which I also use as my main computer with an LCD monitor and a nice set of desk speakers and external USB hard drives -- of course all these have cables that plug into my laptop when docked on my desk. Now with this wonderful product I no longer have to go fishing for my cords behind my desk ... this product has just enough weight so that it can sit on the desk and firmly hold your cords without it ending up behind your desk as well. Quirky Cordies Desktop Management System (Gray)
I LOVE this product! Intend to order more. It keeps my charger wires (cellphone, laptop) and my USB cords neat and easily accessible. Is heavy enough that it doesn't fall off the table itself; and discreet enough that it can be tucked away behind a pen stand or vase. Perfect.
I have several electronic devices I plug in at my bedside every night, and I've been looking for a cord holder that doesn't require me to use mounting tape in order to stick it to the nightstand. Better yet, one that hangs onto more than one cable, as it seems I just keep collecting devices.
This does the job perfectly. It's solid and stable and heavy enough to hang onto three USB cables and a laptop power cord without moving, but it's small enough it fits neatly on the nightstand without looking too out-of-place.
You do have to pull the cords out of the holder and pop them back in when you're done, which is only inconvenient because they can easily get tangled if you're not careful.
The Quirky Cordies Desktop Management gaget solved the problem of how to control charger cords for a cell phone, a kindle and a loptop. The previous solution was to let the cord ends hang from a drawer pull.
The Quirky Cordie now holds all of the charger cords neatly in place until they are needed. The Cordie devise has enough weigth to stay in place by itself.
The extra cord lengths were corraled by a Quirky Plug Hub box. I recommend that too.
I've wanted a cable organizer for a while now but never got around to buying one. This one is relatively cheap compared to the others. I use it with my Macbook AC Cable as well as 4 external hard drives and it works alright. Major complaint is that it is not weighted enough because it easily shifts around.
I like the concept, but overall, this device is a little thicker (read: not flexible enough) than I would have prefered. It arrived in minimal packaging (could be improved on a little) and in a timely fashion. A predrilled set of holes with retaining screws and washers (so the screw head doesn't slip through the holes) to hold this device under a desk, or on the back of the desk or laptop tray, would be a good improvement on the design. Overall, it does the job well except that it is exposed on the desktop and could be construed as unsightly (my wife wants everything to be wireless).'

James Garner - tony randall, kim novak
BOYS NIGHT OUT is finally available remastered on DVD. Pillow Talk has had more said about it and its social reflection then this little gem from the same director. This is the era when Playboy magazine and "The Pill" were becoming major influences on the so-called Sex Revolution in the US. Boys Night Out is a sex comedy that is very much tied to this time, which in this case quickly dates it but that is true of most comedy. Next to Pillow Talk, I personally feel Boys Night Out is the better film. With Boys Night Out we just have more fun - the writing is better, the directing/editing is tighter and the cast is superb. And what a cast, you can't go wrong with Kim Novak and James Garner and the many supporting actors are Hollywood's best. Note: The title song's clever lyrics were written by the great Sammy Cahn and sung by cast member Patti Page. So set your sexual mores back to 1962 and sit back and enjoy this light romp of lust and love. Recommended! Boy's Night Out [Remaster]
There were a lot of humorous surprises in this movie. For starters, James Garner lives with his mother and is a nerdy weather buff! Then there's Kim Novak, who takes to the role of a seductress with aplomb, only a minute after she arrives for what she thought was an apartment inspection. The 1950s-style paternalism all the men dish out to Novak in spite of their lurid extramarital fantasies is downright charming. I give this movie two thumbs up, and am sure you will too.
Fred, Doug, George, and Howie (James Garner, Howard Duff, Tony Randall, and Howard Morris) Share the commuter train daily to and from work. On Wednesdays they spend the night at Slattery's bar, away from home and family, until the 11:35 commuter train. Fred's boss spends Wednesday nights out in his "home away from home."
One day Howie confiscates a copy of Playmate magazine from his son's lunch box. This gives the commuters an idea.
Kim Novak (Cathy) is a sociologist who finds a perfect setup for applied research. Now before you cover your kid's eyes, it is not that type of movie. In fact, every time a juicy story starts, some train comes by and all we get is the punch line. It must be an educational movie as the husbands tell their wives that they signed up for classes at "The new School for Social Research." I looked it up and the school is real. One class is "creative accounting"
Be sure to look at the cast list. It is fun to try to remember other movies that they were in.
This is a lesser known sex comedy from the 60's with Kim Novak and James Garner, in good comic form, ably supported by fine character actors in both major and minor roles; the script is pretty much from the same design mold of the Rock Hudson/Doris Day comedies. This is especially apparent with Tony Randall on hand playing an almost identical role to the ones he played in those comedies. Lots of "will they tumble into bed when they shouldn't?" and "how will the hero actually get the girl?" questions are posed, and settled without too much concern for realistic logic by the fadeout. Sets and colors used are rich and very 60's in design, and Novak's graduate school character sports a wardrobe, even Novak might have had trouble affording, but that is also typical of these films. Even today I would like to have an apartment that nice! Park your critical thinking at the door and settle back for a fun ride though; it's a good cast and they deliver the laughs.
"Boys' Night Out" is a good but not great comedy starring James Garner & Kim Novak (along with a strong supporting cast). The premise of the movie is a bit disturbing (if you don't find adultery funny, anyway), but the plot plays out like an episode of "Three's Company" with things not being as they seem. - Tony Randall - Kim Novak'

Work Tote - tote, tote bag
I can't begin to tell you how perfect this tote is. It's not too big and not too small. It has plenty of compartments and it holds so many items securely. I used it recently on a trip to Miami and was even able to carry 1/2 dozen bagels for my son who requested them And fit all my own "stuff." It zippers closed which is such an important feature since you don't want your things falling out. Port Authority Microfiber Tote Bag - Black
I was very pleased w/ this tote bag. It was bigger than I expected, which is a plus. Its roomy and has several convenient compartments which are perfect such as the 2 side pockets (water bottle), the back pocket fits books and magazines nicely and the cell phone compartment inside. Biggest plus the zipper closing, now all my stuff doesn't slide all over the floor of my car. I do believe I will be ordering a black one. My only con is the straps should be padded, would be the perfect tote!
I ordered the pink one, and it came in record time. It was nicely packed and covered in plastic. It looks better than the picture! What the picture doesn't show you is that the front pocket has a place for cell, credit cards, pens and a zippered pocket. There is also a Velcro pocket on the back that is not in the pic. The inside has a large zippered pocket, and another place for a cell phone. The handles are adjustable and easily fit over my shoulder (I'm kind of large!). The top zipper is sturdy and will keep everything inside.
It is well-made and could be used either as a large purse or a carry on for plane travel. I intend to do the latter. It has enough room for a book, some crocheting and my walkman/CDs. I may get another to use as a purse for travel. This was a great buy!
I bought this bag while I was student teaching to help keep my materials together and organized. The Port Authority Tote Bag had plenty of room to store my supplies, and I continue to use it today. The front pocket has nice compartments to store pens, pencils, post-it notes, or whatever office supplies you wish to keep with you. - Tote Bag - Tote - Totes - Organizer'

Home Theater System
I did a lot of research before buying this unit to replace an older JVC home theater system. I wanted "wireless" surround speakers, but didn't want to sacrifice sound quality. We've had the system for about a month and we're totally satisfied with it. The sound is superb and the picture quality is great, plus I have the capability of upgrading to a 3D television w/o having to buy a new DVD player (I'll have to work on the wife to get that done, lol). For those unfamiliar with "wireless surround speakers", they are not totally wireless. The system has a remote receiver that plugs into an electrical outlet and the rear speaker wires plug into it. It does eliminate having to run speaker wires across the room from the main unit, but you still have wires between the remote receiver and the speakers. I would highly recommend this system. Samsung Electronics HT-D6500W Home Theater System
The Samsung Electronics HT-D6500W Home Theater System is an excellent Home Theater In A Box. I compared it to the Sony BDV-E580 Blu-Ray Disc Player Home Entertainment System (Black) Both spent a week at my house before returning them BOTH for various reasons. First, I want to preface that the reason I returned the item is because it had a faulty Auto Sound Calibration (ASC) unit. The Samsung has quite a few positives against the Sony model. Here we go:
PROS:
+ 2D to 3D conversion included
+ Extra tweeter in speakers (Truly makes a difference over Sony)
+ Well thought remote
+ Much better quality sound
+ Can play MKV and several other formats, either from a USB Stick or DLNA device like a home server (Good if you don't already stream through a game console or HTPC)
+ Wireless rear speakers (not true wireless, but you needn't string wires from the TV to the back of your couch)
+ Fully customizable and preset sound options (Big deal over Sony)
+ Menu Layout is WAY BETTER than Sony
CONS:
- Sony has much better 3D Support, current and future.
- Customer Service is lacking, not very helpful.
- The Sub woofer is the weakest part of the system. It's not very powerful, and it's not a down-firing sub either, unlike Sony.
- The wires are MUCH shorter than Sony, you will likely need RCA AH1650SN 50 Ft. 16-Gauge Speaker Wire
- No power saving options, unlike Sony
Overall, the Samsung is truly superior. The biggest strengths is that it has 2D to 3D conversion, and the sound quality is far superior. However, Sony does have a much better/louder Sub woofer.
We purchased this system 15 days ago. It was easy to set up and it works fantastically. The sound quality is very good. From adventure movies, to war movies, to the sound of the rain in Out of Africa....we are very very pleased with this system.
Needed a new home theater system, my 6 year old Bose Lifestyle (mabe a little older) had a broken CD player, and the remote chronically ate batteries like candy. In retrospect, the length of cables provided by Bose created a mess in my room. Since I have a Samsung LCD, I went with Samsung. Components are all physically much lighter than Bose; don't let that fool you. Excellent sound, played a movie with bombs, moving cars, guns:better than the Bose. Can't say the installation was flawless, since HDMI cable from cable box to TV had to be removed so another could be inserted, AND, since the LCD only has 2 HDMI inputs, I had to disconnect Apple TV (which I use infrequently anyway). Note well: a button on the remote changes the speaker use from just the two front to all of them, with all the sound options!!! Don't forget to push this. If you don't you may think only your front speakers work when they all do. Buy two HDMI cables at Radioshack, they take returns. Amazon was out (weird). IPOD dock work perfectly. I am getting some delay when switching sound from CD to TV. Don't know what that's about. Oh, the ugly triangular bottom slides off the front speakers if you don't like it; I took mine off. All speakers connect to the wall if you want. Rear speakers have no problem connecting "wirelessly;" they are connected to a small reciver, but have no other connections, i.e. almost wirelessly. Why spend almost $3,000. when you can get this for $500.
First off I will start by saying this is my first home theater system.... so of course I'm going to think its WAYYY better than my TV speakers alone. Also I will make the disclaimer that I'm a 23 year old female who is not extremely tech savvy. After making those disclaimers I believe this system was fairly easy to set up. Really all you have to do is plug the wires into the speakers and then into the receiver, it's all color coded so it's pretty simple. The rear wireless speakers are just as easy to set up.
Now my reason for four stars.... after getting it all set up I discovered I was getting a picture from the cable box but no sound, I was getting sound from the Blue Ray player, the radio and the apps so I figured it wasn't a problem with the speakers. I contacted Samsung and they ran me through several different sequences of unplugging HDMI cables and plugging them back in, and switching their ports, and finally resetting the entire system, after all of this they determined the HDMI ports on the receiver were faulty.... I called Amazon and told them what Samsung had told me... the friendly representative told me she would speak with her manager to get the approval to replace my system... I really didn't want to send it all back and she said that sending me just the receiver was not an option. So while I was on hold I did my own trouble shooting and plugged my old Blue Ray player into the HDMI cable that the Cable Box had been plugged into ( Samsung technical support had not even suggested this) and WAHLAA, I had sound. So once the Amazon representative came back I apologized and told her that I believed the problem was actually with the cable box. I called by cable company and they were able to reset the box and everything worked fine! It's not really four stars for the product itself, more for Samsung customer service.
All in all the system is a good system for a first time Home Theater user. I decided on this one after extensive research, since I didn't know anything about home theater systems at first. I had some options that I knew I wanted, and could live without others (such as XM radio receiver built in.)'

Vacuum Accessories - pet brush, vacuum accessories
black lab = lots of shedding. This tool is amazing. My dog loves it when I use this on her. Unlike other tools I have tried, this doesn't tug on the fur. It is not painful to her. I was amazed at the amount of fur I had in my vacuum when finished. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that has a shedding dog. Bissell ShedAway Handheld Pet-Grooming Vacuum Attachment, 98Q1A
It's kind of big for a cat, but it works really well. The volume is adjustable and the curry style gets the hairs loose. The suction is gentle enough to not get stuck down and suck their skin but strong enough to get the hair. I use it on a Oreck cannister hand vacuum. I like this brush and so do my cats.
With two large dogs living in the house, we have furry everything! Furniture, clothing, TV, you get the picture. Because we live in South Florida, it is a chore to take the dogs outside to brush them, it's hot for them and for us. Brushing them in the house left fur flying everywhere.
I ordered the Bissell Shed Away with alot of skepticism. Even if the product worked, I worried my pups wouldn't let me near them. They are both afraid of the vacuum already. However, I bought a small canister vacuum (Eureka Ready Force Eureka ReadyForce Bagged Canister Vacuum, 900A)that allows me to adjust the suction to minimum at the same time I bought the Shed Away.
With the canister vacuum sitting about 6 feet away, and the suction set to minimum, they didn't seem to mind the noise so much and the suction was just right. The very first time I tried to vaccum them, they laid down and let me. They were both hesitant at first, but in only a few minutes they were laying bellies up and competing for the vacuuming. This really surprised me, as one of our dogs is a total wimp and very skittish, and the other is a 12 year old grumpy gal. I was able to brush them both quite well, with no flying fur! Yay! I totally think this product is worth a try.
My dog enjoyed being groomed with this item, but I didn't feel that it removed much hair. Really about the same as normal brushing. He's a lab, so not really long hair, but it just didn't get down deep enough. There was still a lot of loose hair when I was done.
I have a very large and very hairy Golden Retriever who is also afraid of the vacuum cleaner. What I did was start brushing him and then turned the vacuum on. It works great. He enjoyed it and the Bissel did a great job. No pansie brush attachment!
Highly recommend!!!
I've owned this vacuum brush for about a month now. My dog is an extremely smart female black lab/blue heeler mix. She was very scared of my Dyson vacuum at first. It took about 2 weeks of brushing every other day for her to finally not be so scared of the vacuum. I did do dog treats during the brushing.
The nozzle adapter does fit on the end of the wand of the Dyson, which is actually quite awkward. You've got the vacuum sitting there, a hose coming off to the rigid hand wand, then the rubber hose of the brush coming off the end of that. I would've like it better if the hoses attached to each other instead of through the wand. The hose coming off the brush is only about 16" long.
The brush is a higher quality brush than I'm used to. It actually gets more of the fine hairs underneath the top layer of my dog's coat. At first I didn't think it was even brushing any hair out, but I brushed with the vacuum off and sure enough there was a lot of hair building up that normally got sucked up into the vacuum.
I did have to develop my own technique for brushing. My dog's fur is not shaggy enough, so the vacuum will actually lock down on her if I put it flat. There is about 1" of airspace in the brush that they left to prevent this, I'm assuming, but it is not enough for my dog's flat coat. I have to angle the brush so it has enough air on the one side so as not to vacuum lock down on her and scare her.
If you can find an efficient way to train your dog to be around the high pitched and super sonic frequencies of your vacuum cleaner, this is a great product.
this product really does not work for our 130 lb german shepard. the suction does not work once the tool is attached. i found it much easier to use a good brush and hold the vac hose next to it to suck up the hair while i am brushing. total waste of money... does not work, though a great concept.
I absolutely love this product, and even better, so does my dog! It is amazing the amount of hair and dander that this product loosens from her coat. One feature that I really like about this product is the hose extender, because it just doesn't seem that vacuum hoses are ever long enough anymore. Buy this! You won't be sorry!!!
I purchased this for my yellow Lab who sheds non-stop this time of year. This product works as well as the brush I have been using, the only difference is that you don't have any of the mess afterward. All of the hair is sucked up in the vacuum. And for those of you who have Dyson's, all you have to do is to put a little Duct tape on one of the adapters and you will get a good seal on the end of the hose, so you don't have to attach it to the end of the wand. - Vacuum Accessories - Dog Grooming - Pet Vacuum - Pet Brush'

Expensive Watch - expensive watch, carrera watch
This is an absolutely gorgeous Tag. Much lighter than I expected (due to the Titanium). Comes in an absolutely gorgeous wooden box. Outstanding fit and finish. Looks amazing on my arm. Functionality is very easy to use and understand. Terrific product and a terrific purchase. TAG Heuer Men's CAV5185.FT6020 Grand Carrera Automatic Chronograph Black Dial Watch
This watch is a stunner. It looks great on the wrist, and there's nothing else quite like it - it's hard to find a match both aesthetically and mechanically. It should retain value as a popular Tag model, and physically it holds up very well.
I have had this watch for a couple of years now and it has quickly become my favorite watch. It's detail and quality often draw others eyes to it and I constantly receive compliments on it's level of craftsmanship. This watch seems to be indestructible in addition to it's aesthetically pleasing design. I have worn this watch during all kinds of activity and have mistakingly banged it against metal doors and trunks, and several other surfaces. Regardless of the abuse this watch does not have a scratch on it and still maintains it beauty and reliability. - Men S Watch - Expensive Watch - Carrera Watch - Luxury Watch'
