Yoga
I'm a yoga therapist/teacher.
Wrists are very vulnerable in a number of positions where you
need to put a significant amount of weight on your hands.
I was hopeful that these would help to ease the pressure on
the wrists and prevent discomfort/injury.
I didn't give up on them immediately. I spent a lot of time
experimenting, trying to determine a method to gain benefit
from them.
In vain. Stick-e Brands Yoga Wrist Saver (Pair)
I am small (5'1", 110 lbs) and have very small hands. These were way too high for me and the foam is very stiff. They actually made pressure on my hands worse rather than better. However, I don't want to total denigrate this product. Perhaps for someone with larger hands and weighing more these would be helpful. They just didn't work for me but a product like this, in only one size, must be designed for the average person of which I am not so I would suggest that interested buyers not judge this product on my review alone.
The wrist savers truly help my wrist discomfort during my yoga class. I am a very active individual though I have always had weak wrists and ankles making some upper body weight bearing exercises uncomfortable. With the Stick-e Brand wrist savers I felt stronger in my poses and was able to improve my form.
The idea of these are great; the only thing is that they are so big and i might as well stick a cement brick under my wrists. I tried them real quick cause i was so excited to get them and later on my wrist were hurting me and i was wondering why, then i remembered i used them. Save your $20.
First of all GREAT IDEA! There is nothing else on the market like this...I have just been using rolled up mats under my hands. I regret not paying attention to other reviewers...these things are too hard and too big! It hurts really badly. They help in downward dog, but when you move into plank and up dog you want to throw them across the room! I am going to stick with mat rolls and flush my wasted money down the toilet :( Anyone else having pain...just take a small pice of mat, roll it up and stick a rubber band around it to hold it together...works great!
Maybe there is someone that will find these useful, but for me, they caused worse pain than nothing at all. I felt like my wrists and hands were forced into more awkward positions. I tried using them as shown in the pictures, and I thought they caused more pressure on the carpal tunnel. I don't have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and I'd like to keep it that way, so I gave up on these.
I purchased this product and it does not correct or support the wrist pain at all. It is amazing that it even get worse!
I tried to return it but is more expensive to send it back in such a short time that id does not worthdid. Now this is going to the trash.
I was so pumped about these and then I got them and they were too big and hard for my hands. So after one painful yoga class, I cut them in half to better fit the size of my hands. And I have large hands for a girl, but it still hurt pretty bad. I even let the Yoga Instructor try them out and she said that it hurt worse too.
It's not the worst thing you could imagine, but I can't imagine you would ever use it.
It's only $20 down the drain so I'm not too worried about it, just wouldn't waste your time or money on this product--although the stupid youtube videos make it look so wonderful! HAHA
I have arthritis in my right thumb joint and have found it almost impossible to correctly execute down dog, plank, push ups, etc, without alot of pain. The Stick-e Wrist Savers allow me to correctly practice these poses without alot of pain or stress on my wrists. I wish I had known about this product sooner. My yoga/pilates practice is better because of the wrist saver. Now, if they could only get rid of the arthritis.....'

Samsung Galaxy S - galaxy s, protector
I actually got this when I purchased the phone, not online. I just wanted to post something for others considering it, since I find reviews very helpful. This case is great, it makes the phone less sleek, bit you can still use the slide out keyboard with it and change batteries easily. And it protects the phone since it is hard plastic. I also got a screen protector and that works great with no loss of touch screen function or visibility so definitely recommend both items to protect your investment! Premium Crystal Rubberized Hard Snap-on Case for Samsung Epic 4G - Black
First off this case is nice. The shipper had it come out quick nothing wrong with that. I have tried a lot of different cases with the epic and all of them just make it so huge. I dont like the way the slide it always makes them sick and hard to shut. The EPIC just shouldnt have a case, But if you have to have one this case isnt bad.
I have used it for one full day and it looked and felt great. But then I had to remove the cover to access the battery and the top part broke at its hinges. It will no longer snap in place. For the price I paid, no complains. But anyone buying out there, just keep it on, FOREVER! Its a one time use case.
Yet again, my brother asked me to get some things for his new phone. I bought some screen protectors and this case. The case is a standard clip on style case. It covers all corners and edges with access to camera, volume and speaker buttons. It's made of the grippy rubber type material so it's not as smooth and slippery as a typical plastic cas. Decent case for the money.
PRODUCT WAS GREAT CONDITION WHEN RECEIVED, BUT IT WAS NOT WHAT I SAW ON THE PICTURE WHEN I BOUGHT IT.... I'M SATISFIED IT DID NOT TAKE LONG TO RECEIVE, BUT DISAPPOINTED WITH THE PRODUCT RECEIVED BECAUSE IT WAS NOT WHAT I SAW.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I paid $.03 for a product on amazon but it is just perfect. Its not a soft rubber so it doesn't bend or move out of place. Its very comfortable to hold in your hand, and if you drop it... it doesn't fall apart. It is just perfect. Definitely a must.
The case I bought fit, but didn't allow the slide function of my phone to slide smoothly. Also, the case broke after only 3 weeks and I never dropped my phone. It was so weak that it probably broke from just getting set down on a hard surface.
The case was about $3, including all shipping etc...
As far as I can see, it has the smallest dimensions of the cases being offered on Amazon, so I don't think there's any point in complaining about how the case makes the phone feel bulky.
With the Epic it seems like your only two choices are, bulky and safe or slim and vulnerable.
In all honesty after putting the case on and using for about 2 days, I went with the 'slim and vulnerable' route.
Then I got scared and came back to the case (this goes against some reviews mentioning breaking the tabs, and suggesting leaving the case on forever)
I actually put on and took off the case numerous times without breaking anything... it's actually quite sturdy.
The front panel of the case has a bar going across separating the main screen from the row of buttons, as well as little cut outs (at the top)for proximity sensor, light sensor, cam and speaker... all of which can get dirty with dust, lint and what have you...
It might have been nicer with just a clean bezel running across the perimeter.... but then again... those extra pieces makes the case feel sturdier... though somewhat uglier at the same time.
All in all it's a good sturdy case that fits well and does the job. For only 3 bucks.
There really isn't any improvements (reasonable) I can expect from this case (or cases that cost more)
I seriously would recommend buying this case, and trying it out before even shopping for cases that cost more than 2-3x as much.
***The shipper (OEM PLANET) sent the case very quickly (possibly because we're both in NY, but they must have sent it out that same day. they don't seem to waste time). If I want a phone accessory and there was a choice of several different sellers, I would definitely look for them first. - Protector - Galaxy S - Sprint - 4g'

Strong - packaging tape, office supplies
I bought the six-pack of tape refills from Amazon 3 months ago, and I stopped using them because they do not work. The tape does not stick to cardboard. I do not know whether it is too old or defective from factory, but the tape just separates from the cardboard. I have tried them on different boxes, and I finally gave up on them. Scotch DP-1000RF6 Packaging Tape, 1.88 Inches x 900 Inches (6-Pack)
There's not much to be said about tape, but I've come to really like this stuff. It takes corners without giving out, holds together seams that are ready to tear apart, and stands up to some serious stress. It's a bit pricey in my opinion, but purchased in bulk, like with this 6 pack, it's a good enough deal. An solid general purpose tape, and excellent for mailing.
I was extremely disappointed in this tape. It does not stick. It has very little holding power. I use Scotch brand tapes all the time. I have never had any trouble until now. Are they re-formulating their tape? This is an inferior product. I don't trust it to hold on any surface. I am throwing it in the trash.
This will be a short review. I have used this tape for packaging stuff for a long time. Scotch makes the best quality tape in my opinion, so while it is more expensive, it also causes fewer headaches for me when putting boxes together, or getting packages ready for shipping. It never starts to peel away from a box in warm weather. I don't need a customer receiving a package that was damaged because I used tape that was a dollar less a roll but is garbage. Yes, there are less expensive brands, but nothing else I've used is as good.
I disagree with the claims here that this tape doesn't stick. I mail lots of packages and use this tape in my Scotch dispenser, and it works beautifully. Perhaps it depends on the kind of surface you're taping, but it works perfectly on cardboard boxes.
I was happy to purchase the tape I use extensively in my e-commerce business at a discount. I have used this as a shipping tape for several years now and continue to seek it out by brand name. I also have the dispenser that I purchased with the first batch of tape. The dispenser (blue/white) is also a handy tool.
Ah, packing up boxes for that summer move? Saving a little money on tape by buying from Amazon?
Buyer beware! You will likely be disappointed by this and other Scotch tapes from ordering the wrong type. This tape is SMALL CORE working only with the small dispensers. I just bought a $22 Scotch Dispenser that doesn't even fit these tapes! Moreover the rolls are tiny! I will spend half the time swapping cores.
Ways in which Scotch will confuse you:
-Proprietary sizes that don't fit other Scotch dispensers. I just bought a tape dispenser that doesn't even fit this tape. If Scotch is going to do so, they need to color code or differentiate so consumers aren't so disappointed.
-Different measurements: this tape is 900" whereas other tape is in yards. What a pain to compare pricing and be sure you have the right amount.
-Confusing different names: which is the cheapo, the midrange, and the top line? I don't know, and after researching here and at Scotchtape.com, I don't think 3M can explain or display their myriad products. If their own website can't clearly explain which tape is which, how is the consumer supposed to?
I now have six worthless rolls of tape, that aren't worth returning due to shipping. Would I be doing Goodwill a disservice by donating such a proprietary product? - Office Supplies - Packaging Tape - 3m - Packaging'

Campfire Cooking - camping, ebook
This is a really cute and useful book. It has a lot of color illustrations to make it very attractive for a child to read. Also, the concept of cooking over your campfire -- or over several different types of home-made grills that they teach you how to make -- is fun and different. This actually seems to be book two of a series -- the first looks like it's called "Cooking on a Stick, Campfire recipes for kids" by Linda White.
Anyway, the chapters are as follows:
Planning and Packing (make a cooking apron)
Setting up Camp (with a craft for making a banner for your site)
Campires (make a wood carrier out of a sweatshirt, and make some different kinds of fire starters)
Cooking on Outdoor Stoves (make a tin-can grill, canyon sandwiches with English muffins, recipe for asparagus "forests")
Cooking in a (full-sized) garbage can (make a garbage can cooker, make a small "buddy" burner, pizza soup recipe, apple stampede recipe [which is just apple sauce])
Cooking in a paper bag or paper cup (recipe for rise 'n' shine breakfast [bacon and eggs in a bag], chocolate on a stick)
Cooking in Leaves and other foods (bean burgers recipe, bloomin' muffins [muffins you cook in orange peels! how cool!]
Hot rock cooking (sunrise toast and hot rock chicken)
Pit Cooking (fondue and cake)
Solar oven cooking (veggie pie and cookies with granola)
Spit cooking (mushrooms and kebobs)
Dutch oven cooking (stew and cake)
The recipes seem to be well explained and simple enough for kids who are the correct age to actually read the book. (Amazon lists ages 4-8, which from the kid-style illustrations seems right on.) The gimmick of cooking in the woods is fun and safety instructions are included and explained. For example, they explain what makes a good rock to cook on! And they include a long list of supplies and safety equipment, even explaining how to properly -- and safely -- douse a fire. They also cover "what is safe drinking water?" and how to build the perfect campfire.
For those of you who are Family Fun magazine fans, (I appreciate their crafts and clever ideas), for camping fans, and for cooking fans who would like to try something new with their kids, this book is a fun addition to your library. Cooking in a Can (Acitvities for Kids)
I remember cooking meals in a can when I was little, so I was excited to order this book for my husband, who is our son's Cubmaster. However I was disappointed (and maybe I didn't read the reviews close enough) to find that there are very few actual recipes for cooking in a can.
This is a fun book for kids. It was less detailed than I would have liked, but if you have a parent who knows what they are doing there are a lot of great ideas in this book. My kids love it, and I will keep looking and practicing to put some of these ideas and projects into play. There are many more ideas than just can cooking. Cooking on a rock, in a paper cup, in a pit, and in a homemade solar oven are also included. - Camping - Kindle Devices - E-reader - Ebook'

Garage Door Openers - garage door remote, chamberlain
My OEM Sears unit died- I think the motherboard got cracked, so I thought I would get a small keychain remote instead. This unit works better than the original control. Only thing that would be nice is a colored button for the main button. Works as advertised. I am purchasing another soon to replace the wife's controller, but will get the Liftmaster two button console unit instead so it is larger/easier to push the right button. Make sure you get the right model. Chamberlain 970LM 390MHz Mini Remote(See Tech. Details Below)
I needed a garage door opener that was easier to carry and use while I rode my motorcycle. I was tired of removing my car's opener every time I needed it, and climbing off and back on the bike to operate our keypad was a pain in the you-know-what.
For a very low price, I found this small, lightweight remote that I can carry on my key chain. It was very simple to program with our Craftsmen door opener. (red/orange button models only!) The range is pretty good, too. I stop my bike out on the road to open the door, before riding up the incline of my driveway and never have an issue with the signal. Compared to paying the price of a name brand, full size remote, this is an amazing bargain.
Great little remote. Mounted it with velcro under the flap of my motorcycle seat. Most of the time I can reach down and push the button with enough distance to ride right into the garage without stopping. The only remote we have with more distance capacity is the factory built-in one in the car.
Anyone who rates this item less than five stars is an incompetent, loser, do-nothing-but-complain whiner.
It is so easy to set up an East Oakland zoo chimp could program this in a minute's time with the supplied pictorial instructions.
The main/center button now opens my garage door while the right button controls the garage door light. UBER COOL DUDE!
I ordered this remote to replace the original 3 button (blue buttons)unit that came with the opener.I have the orange "Learn" button and this little gem was no trouble at all. Programmed it in about 5 seconds and it works perfectly. If you have the orange "learn" button on your unit this product is the one to get.
I ordered the Chamberlain 956CB from Amazon (sold and shipped by BigDoorGuy) last weekend, and got my package this weekend, so high marks for the quick service.
What I got, however, was the LiftMaster 970LM.
BDG put on a label on the box -- these two remotes are functional equivalents. We'll see, says I. I opened the box, and a 3-volt CR2032 battery fell out along with a patch of velcro. I didn't really need the velcro, so I put it aside, and took out the remote from its small pocket of bubble wrap. Double checking the instructions, I popped the remote open to insert the battery, et voila! there was a battery already inside the remote!
Who could ask for more -- a pocket-sized, 3-button remote with a spare battery and a little piece of velcro to play with for 14.99 (add 4.99 for s/h)!?!
As for functional equivalency, it's true. This remote synched right up with my orange button Chamberlain Security+ garage door opener, and so far works like a charm. I haven't tried any of the "garage door opener tricks," but, according to the instructions, you can program one button just to open, one button just to close, and the third button just to turn on the light.
But all I really care about is opening and closing the garage door, so I guess I got my money's worth.
This is a handy keychain remote for my garage door. I've done my research with other vendors online and else where in the area where I live. You can't beat the deals with Amazon.com, Amazon has the best prices on just about anything and everything. - Garage Door Remote - Garage Door Opener - Chamberlain - 970lm'

Privacy Screen For Bold 9700 - privacy screen for 9700, privacy screen for bold 2
It was horrible!!!!! the screen protector was HORRIBLE QUALITY! I even called and email the company to get a refund and no one contacted me back. Please dont make the same mistake as i did and buy from this company. The screen protector was suppose to be HIGH QUALITY! It was horrrrriblleeeeeeeeeeeee! It was a complete waste of my money. Premium Privacy Screen Protector for Blackberry Bold 9700 [Accessory Export Packaging]
I was skeptical about the privacy feature as described but this really works. Product applied with ease and actually improves the overall look of the device. Will definitely re-order the same product when the time comes.
As soon as I placed the protector on the screen I could not see the screen as clearly as before. The screen is not filled with lines or ridges and the clarity it used to have changed completely. These kind of matte finishes really change the visibility of the screen. Useless.
This was not what I expected. It did not fit my Blackberry Bold at all. I had to cut it down to make it fit. However, after I cut it down, it worked just fine. I kept it on my phone for almost 6 months until I bought another one. It only had a few scratches on it but I just wanted a new one. If you have a Blackberry Bold 9650, I recommend this one. Premium Privacy Screen Protector for Blackberry Bold 9650 [Accessory Export Brand Packaging]
this protector is not as good as i thought it would be, it makes the screen visibility really horrible with lines it makes my eyes hurt ( it kind of looks like when the dish is getting bad reception and you have bad lines all over the tv screen) . took it off after a day , could not handle it . save urself the money , it might help others from seeing what you are doing but it will also be a pain for you to be able to normally see ur screen. DONT BUY IT ... listen to other reviews that said not to do it and spend ur money on something more worthwhile
Protector was easy to apply, included a little cleaning cloth. As with other privacy protectors I've used it slightly reduces the brightness of the display from any angle. When holding it right in front of you visibility is excellent. From the side it is very difficult to see the screen - just as desired.
The screen of the Bold 9700 has a sharp bevel on the left and right edges. The protector does not cover past the bevel, and it is possible to see a couple lines of pixels through the bevel. Since the bevel has such a sharp edge I'm not sure I would want a protector that covered this area as it would be more prone to come off and introduce air bubbles.
Note: This review if for the item as purchased from SF Planet. It did not say "Accessory Expert" on the packaging, but just: "ScreenGUARD. The Greatest Guard for LCD Screen"
Works well and keeps people even sitting right next to me from seeing what I am doing. However, it does cut down on the brightness of the phone a fair amount (all privacy protectors do), so be wary of that before purchasing - Privacy Screen For Bold 2 - Privacy Screen For 9700'

Defective - sata, hard drive
Read the 5 pages of support issues on this drive in Seagate's forums or the 30+ pages in Apple's forums (and note: this isn't an issue exclusive to Apple systems)... or read the reviews at Newegg... this drive has MAJOR reliability issues.
Don't believe all these 5 star reviews from people who reviewed the drive the day they installed it. It will run great when you first put it in.
But 15-60 days in you will start hearing clunking noises. Your system will start freezing for a second or two here or there. The drive's load cycle count will start to skyrocket (to the point that even under "normal" use the drive will fail within a year by Seagate's own numbers). If you're really unlucky, the drive will suddenly die.
Don't play russian roulette with your data. Don't fall for this drive's relatively low price or nice specs.
The most important spec in a hard drive is reliability. This one sucks. Seagate Momentus 7200.4 320 GB 7200RPM SATA 3Gb/s 16MB Cache 2.5 Inch Internal NB Hard Drive ST9320423AS-Bare Drive(Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging)
I am not going to say there is something wrong with these drives, because at the end of the day I'm only one guy with a bad experience. I'll just offer my review here so that people get a full perspective. I have had two of these fail on me in a row, failing offline SMART tests. When it was working, the drive was very fast and quiet, though, so I can certainly understand the high marks people give these drives when they work.
I think it is fair to say that Seagate is really running these at the ragged edge of what is possible. While the transfer rates can approach 90 Mb/s at the edge of the platter, according to a few quick tests I ran, the transfer rate fluctuates greatly, and the drive shows a pretty constant stream of software-corrected (ECC) errors. In other words, you're not losing data, but the data coming off the drive is on the border of what is readable, such that the drive needs to rely on error correction and/or rereads (hence the fluctuating speeds) to get the data off. I base these conclusions on the fact that tests of data on the inside of the platter (which has much less speed) are much more reliable (albeit slower).
If you do decide to get one of these, do yourself a favor and backup (which you should do anyways, because all hard drives are subject to fail at any time).
This particular drive was housed in my mid-2009 MacBook Pro, purchased directly from Apple and customized (3.06GHz processor, 500GB hard drive). I purchased the system on August 06, 2009.
On February 02, 2010, the hard drive suffered a complete failure. I was not informed what model of drive was in the system at the time of purchase, but when the Apple Store returned the failed drive to me so that I could try to extract data from it, I learned that it was this particular Seagate model. (And they replaced it with the EXACT SAME DRIVE. Meaning that I have to purchase a new drive of my own out of pocket, from a manufacturer of hard drives that hasn't ended up with critical drive failures every single time I have used one. And unfortunately, 7200RPM 500GB drives are not common.)
I cannot stress enough that you DO NOT PURCHASE THIS HARD DRIVE. It has known reliability issues and numerous reports of complete failures, and there is very little chance that any data recovery will be possible -- not even in prohibitively expensive clean room recovery situations. The drive frequently fails within six months of use. I currently have the failed drive in an enclosure and hooked up to a PC running Kernel for Macintosh in the hope of possibly recovering a tiny bit of data, but it's not looking good. If recovery fails absolutely, I will be opening the drive to examine the disk for known, common damage indicators (such as the 'death ring' around the spindle).
Tomorrow, I will be going out and purchasing a new drive to install myself. I will not have this happen again. Do not let positive reviews and excuses about this being a 'rare failure' lure you into purchasing this shoddy piece of equipment, known to be defective but still being distributed! This is one of the most unreliable hard drives I have ever had the displeasure of using. I have had bad luck in general with Seagate drives, even on external disks that are not being taxed by running an OS.
Reliability is key in a hard drive, and this drive does not measure up in the least. If you need a larger hard drive like I do, or at least one that spins at 7200RPM for those of us who run software that requires frequent data access, I recommend purchasing a lower capacity 7200RPM drive from another manufacturer (Hitachi and Western Digital have yet to fail me), plus a second internal drive and a separate enclosure to use as additional portable storage.
We can, of course, wait for Seagate to release a firmware update that fixes the problems with this drive. However, after months of silence on the matter, it's clear that they're as reliable as this hard drive is -- not at all. Do what you have to do to avoid buying this unit, and if you get a new notebook computer, make sure the FIRST thing you do is check what model hard drive you have. If it's this one, scrap it ASAP and buy something that actually works. Notebook hard drives are cheap. Data recovery (with no guarantee of success) is not, and neither is your data itself. Protect it. Back up regularly, and don't buy Seagate.
I bought this drive a few months ago and about a week after installed it started to make a noise that sounds like a bunch of marbles are loose inside my MacMini. It also makes beeping noises here and there...The noises are starting to become more prevalent so I went to Seagates site to have it swapped out...they want to charge me 19.99 in order to send me out one first so that way there isn't any down time...What a crock!...I wouldn't recommend getting this drive or any Seagate product...They obviously know they have problem with their drives because they are charging you 19.99 to have it replaced in a timely fashion..Should have bought a HITACHI!!!! - Laptop - Hard Drive - Sata - 320 Gb'

Automatic Watch - casual watch, military watch
This is a very special watch in several respects: You can see the clockwork through the transparent backside; both day and date are shown; there is no need for battery changes, nor manual winding up of the clockwork. The strap is solid and washable. I have become very attached to it ... Seiko Men's SNK807K2 Automatic Blue Dial Blue Cloth Weave Strap Watch
I've had this watch for 2+ years and wear it daily. When I first received it it would gain 3 minutes a day, but after a month or so, it settled down and now is off maybe 1 or 2 seconds a day. It looks great, is rugged, and very comfortable. Can't go wrong on this one, and you'll not be shopping for a battery every year.
I have had numerous watches over time, almost one per year, this will be the last watch I purchase. Since I wear it 24/7 it keeps pretty accurate time. Stays glowing at night for long periods of time and is easy to read. The watch band is very strong, comfortable and easy to wash, should last a lifetime.
I hardly ever wear my other watch any more. This watch looks great and I love the mechanical movement. It's less accurate than a quartz watch, but after weeks of wearing it it was only off by a minute. The watch glows in the dark for a surprisingly long time even after being exposed to light for only a few minutes, and you get the day and date as well as the time. I would not hesitate to recommend this watch to anybody.
I've owned a Baume & Mercier automatic and a Longines automatic watch for years. Since the other two watches set my wallet back quite a bit, and also since I've "acquired" a wife and two little ones since their purchase, I didn't want to break the bank this time around. So, after reading reviews for this little gem, I pulled the trigger and scored one for twenty-five bucks less off of eBay. This watch is simply beautiful! I've owned it for three weeks and it still has maintained the same time as displayed on my cell phone. Hasn't lost a minute. It's performance is on par with my other two automatics, but I spent literally thousands of dollars less on this purchase. I was in the market for blue-faced watch that I could wear with a pair of british tan shoes and belt, so I took the liberty of replacing the blue nylon band on this watch with a cognac-colored Rios leather band I also purchased off of eBay. I also replaced the buckle with a Hadley-Roma deployment buckle with brushed stainless steel finish, which matches the brushed metal of the watch perfectly. Check out the 3 pictures I've uploaded. Nice right? I actually ended up paying more than the watch itself for the leather band and deployment buckle, but hey, considering how much I saved on the watch, it was well worth it. I plan to have this bad boy for a long time. Thank you Seiko for making affordable, sporty automatics at a super affordable price.
This review was originally written for the SNK803K2. The only difference is the color of the dial. But I bought this on too.
For me this watch is fantastic. If you know auto-winds (automatics), then you know their little idiosyncrasies. So let's start there...
Timing:
It's not a chronometer, it does gain (or lose) more than 0.5 seconds/day. In fact, on some days it seems to gain as much as a minute. Gaining time seems to be a common observation with other owners and reviewers. My guess is that it is "set fast" at the factory, with the idea that "if we can't get it perfect out of the box, then it's better to be early than be late." For this, you could probably go down to your local watch repair and get the timing set. Having said that, My watch normally runs about a minute fast over the course of a month and that doesn't bother me. In fact, true to all automatics, it gains and loses a little time each day or so and it is generally the same "one minute" ahead of the current time for several months.
Quality:
The watch is obvious quality. Seiko is quality and they obviously get a great job on this one too. It's quite rugged. I regularly ride a both a mountain bike and road bike to work, which is 12 miles in one direction. The watch take a vibrational beating, but never really misses a beat (outside of the range mentioned in the previous paragraph).
Looks:
I wasn't keen on the style of the band that came with the watch, although it is tough and will probably never come apart. I went a got a leather band, and this thing is beautiful. No kidding, totally styling.
Trivia:
The numbers on the watch dial are definitely unique: minutes on the outside; hours on the inside... Okay - but is a great way to help little kids to tell analog time, "The little hand tells you the hours and the big hand tells you the minutes." Was it planned?
Recommendations:
I went out and got two more. Another for myself, with a green dial (that my oldest son commandeered) and another with a blue dial for my daughter in the Coast Guard. I was able to spend $64 a piece for these, so really, I think they were a great deal.
I have an older, beautiful Omega Deville that I wear when the occasion arises, but to tell you the truth, I end up feeling just a little guilty leaving this watch behind for some event, when it really is my trusted time piece.
However, after this... An Omega Planet Ocean.
this watch is excellent, I have it for 6 months and have no complaints, and to change the days you just have to pull the knob once, then turn down, and for the dates you have to turn up, try it.
Also gives you the option of placing the day in Spanish and English.
In addition, this watch is very comfortable and resistant
This is an excellent watch. The band is of very durable, high quality webbing. The face is very easy to read. I especially like the hours being on the inside and the minutes listed on the outside of the circle. The only complaint I have is that one can't wind the watch manually. It has to be wound by wearing it. - Seiko - Casual Watch - Military Watch - Automatic'

Ring Binders - binders, five star
I'm a college student so carrying all my books gets to be a chore. I like these hybrid binders because they are lighter and take up less space than traditional binders. There are clear tabbed folder/pockets inside which are great for organizing handouts and worksheets. You could keep multiple classes in one binder. They seem to be sturdy also, no signs of wear yet. They are kind of expensive but I think they are worth it! Five Star Flex Hybrid NoteBinder, 1.5-Inch, Black (72403)
I have been a fan of these light weight and space concious binders since their introduction. Their only downfall seemed to be their 1 inch capacity, so I remedied that by purchasing one for each subject. When I saw the 1.5 inch option I was so excited, finally I could have it all! Sadly, after only a few short days into the semester it has been my experience that the expanded size falls into to the bigger is not better category. The flimsy plastic rings are too flexible to hold anything even close to 1.5 inches of paper, resulting in lost pages and notes sliding all over the place because they won't stay closed once you store the binder in your bookbag. The connection method for the binder rings needs to be greatly improved before I will invest in this model again. On the bright side, I shouldn't have too wait long as Mead seems to roll out a new and improved version of this line each fall. I'm looking forward to the next version of this revolutionary line of binders living up to its full potential.
I LOVE these hybrid binder-notebooks. I am completely addicted. I like that I can fold the cover over and have it fit neatly on a desk. It is flexible and easy to fit into bags. You can organize it like a binder and insert/remove papers as you please. It has the tactile appeal of a notebook with the benefit of a binder. I hated getting notebooks because they never have the right amount of paper - either you have a lot left at the end of the quarter or you run out part way through. I was using binders, but they are too big and awkward on desks. This is the perfect solution!
This NoteBinder has two big problems. First, it is bulky. Second it is really difficult to pass the pages, i.e. you can not go smoothly from one page to another because of the way the rings are built. At the end it will break the paper after couple of weeks.
I've been carrying one of these for a couple of years and have added a set of five job folders to the five that came with it. I also carry a full load of notepaper. I carry business cards, receipts and other small notes in the little pockets of the job folders. I can sort my work papers by task/department and access them wherever I am, while the fact that the cover folds all the way around to the back allows me to take notes in cramped quarters (a seminar, my car). The fabric that covers the ring area seems flimsy but is only now beginning to fray a little. I probably carry too much in the notebook and, consequently, sometimes I have to wrestle to get to the folders in the back. But this has more than paid for itself. I just wish it was a little more attractive - the colors are pretty awful. And an "executive" version, with a cover of more attractive material (fabric over board?), would be ideal.
I use a lot of notebooks of various brands for several disciplines. So I thought I'd give this puppy a try when I saw it in the drug store. This notebook gets a thumbs down from me.
Too hard to turn pages and navigate. I work blazingly fast - and this concept stopped me dead in my tracks. If you have lots of time on your hands, this notebook might work for you.
Life's too short to struggle with a notebook!
I gave this one away - and am sticking with wirebound notebooks and 3-ring binders from now on.
I bought the large one two years ago. I am placing my review here so people buy the smaller ringed one rather than the large. I bought the large one and was excited since I'd be putting a RIDICULOUS amount of organic chemistry notes in it. It's nice because it bends and there's no problem with fitting the binder in your backpack BUT once you open and close the ring a few times and THEN put it in your backpack the rings get a gap. Once this happens, turning pages is nearly IMPOSSIBLE. I have to go slow and carefully because my pages would rip constantly. If your slow and careful not to let the pages get stuck in the gaps, then fine.....but it's more of a hassle than convenience! I had students I tutored in orgo and they had the smaller ring binders and they didn't have the same problem I did. So I'd get one for each subject because the big one IS NOT WORTH IT! - Organizing - Binders - Organizer - Five Star'

Micro Pinner
I am simply amazed by this pinner. I have used many others with less features and the Grex p635 is a hands down winner. Few manufacturers offer a 23ga pinner as versatile as the P635 with the capability to shoot 3/8 to 1 3/8 pins and self adjusting to boot. No splitting of crown or delicate hardwood mouldings even within 1/8" of an end mitre. I have pretty much retired my 18ga brad nailer for high end trim in leu of the Grex P635. I am impressed with the holding power of the 23 ga pins in hardwood crown on cabinet installs. As a professional wood worker I highly recommend this pinner. Grex P635 23 Gauge 1-3/8-Inch Length Headless Pinner
I was introduced to this nail gun at my last job. Now that I am in business for myself, I had to get one. I have used the Senco and the Grex 23g micro pinners. The Sencos that we had at the shop hardly ever worked properly. They weren't self-adjusting, so changing nail lengths was a pain. And, the nail heads almost always stayed above the surface of the material. The Grex, however is self adjusting, and goes all the way from 1/4" to 1 3/8" nail lengths. Even in the hardest wood it always sinks the heads. The only time it hasn't was when I was shooting into maple at a harsh angle, or when the compressor didn't come back on and there wasn't enough pressure. Also, I have had the gun for 2 months and used it almost every work day since then, and I have only had one minor jam. Plus, just the fact that you don't have to fill every nail hole with putty makes this tool a life saver.
I purchased Senco, Porta-Cable, Bostitch, Omer, and Grex. Grex by far is the best! It doesn't jam, or break down. Very reliable and saves me money over the long run from not repairing it every week. Before the P635 my porta-cable and omer both gave me the biggest problems. The Grex gets into the corners and doesn't leave a mark into the finished product. I have owned them for 2 years and now getting one for my father. Also, I have been burned by the big auction web site(won't name names)trying to buy this tool.
(see revision below) I wasn't led astray by others who raved about this 23 gauge pinner. It saved the day as far as doing an intricate exterior Ipe handrail with polyurethane glue. No other brad or nailer would work except my old Senco 1/2 thru 3/4 inch pinner and it leaked and didn't have the power of this new one. With no time to use small screws and countersinks nor tenoning, I found that using toe nailed 23 guage pins with polyurethane glue really held together this hard-as-nails exterior hardwood.
The only small problem was when adding a new shank of pins to a nearly empty gun.. that when the previous shank was used up the new shank due to the smallest misalignment wouldn't pin.. .not a biggy..It just meant one had to very carefully load the pinner and make sure the same size of pins was in-line with the prior shank of pins. Very hard to tell if the gun is firing or not. But minor concerns with such a Great Tool! It's very powerful judging at the strength of penetration into a wood (Ipe) that is very close to being the hardest of woods. 18 guage would shatter and split the wood and only my battery actuated Dewalt 16 guage gun would consistantly penetrate but only at a right angle and with occasional splitting. Only 23 guage pins would toe nail w/o bouncing off.
Someone described this as the "Lexus of pinners". Seems very true. Also the extra finger safety 'flipper' was annoying and my helper just taped it to the handle as we found that it was more likely to accidently fire with the intricacy of manipulating the safety on than having it taped off (down). Works now very well. No hitches. Comes with the usual leaky bottle of oil..but not even one pin in the box. Make sure you order some if you don't have 'em when ordering this gun.
after a month or so...revised review. Now the Grex no longer shoots pin to the surface...pins are proud a good 1/16. Opened it up and the first part of the pin driver is shattered. Thus needing a new piston pin, Amazon does carry it. But was the wood too hard (Ipe) on the pinner or is it just a bad design? Remember my old Senco still shoots pins but only is a half through three quarter pinner. I'd have to demote Grex to two stars. The pin driver seems only meant for softer woods. Need to find paperwork as no local dealer sells Grex or contact manufacturer.
I like the Grex pin nailer but I would like to suggest to all of the tool manufacturers that the form fitting plastic storage case would be much more useful if they left enough room for storage of the supplies (pins).
After asking around on woodnet i found that this one is the only one that does not leave a small dent from the driving pin( at least in this price range)
the one drawback to all of these micro pinners is that you cant control the depth of the pin
it will never go more than about a 32nd into the wood
not quite enough for filler
You may not 'need' one of these pinners to do trim work. But, if you are looking for a tool to help you do quality work in an efficient fashion, you really should have one of these tools. When working with stained trim, you can pin outside miters together and then fasten the trim to the wall quickly without a split or having to fill holes. Painted trim does require touch up, however smaller holes means less work to conceal and the 23 gauge pinner still has the advantage of being able to pin the actual corners without having to pre-drill holes.
This is an excellent product, comes ready to use, and works perfectly. Quiet, light, and well made. Feels better than the Porter Cable I tried out, and extremely accurate. I used it at 90 psi with the 1 3/8" pins, and had no issues with putting pins through shoe molding, corner molding, pinning crown miters, etc.
A very minor gripe: it is difficult to load a new clip of pins when there are a few still left on the old clip. The spring mechanism pushes the two clips together pretty hard when you close the magazine, and the ends of the clips can get doubled up, jamming the magazine. I was unable to fix this, so I just made sure I only refilled when it was completely empty. Kind of a hassle on the ladder, but there are so many pins in a clip it didn't matter to me that much. I don't know if this was a problem on the other pinner I tried out because I never thought to check.
If you've never used a pinner, you should know that it is NOT going to replace your finish nailer. In other words, don't plan on a pinner to hold up oak trim on a coffered ceiling. You can put the smaller stuff (cove, bead) up with the pinner, and you get perfect results.
Another great use for the pinner is holding the returns on small pieces of trim while the glue sets up. Things that you cannot clamp together can be pinned and you'll probably never see the tiny hole. Plus, no problems with splitting the end grains either! Saves me hours of hole-filling and irritation.
This pinner has the dual trigger, and it works well. One safety note, don't get complacent about holding the safety trigger down and waving the gun around at the same time (away from the workpiece). There is no safety tip to depress, so it will fire away. It's all too easy to slide one hand a little too close to the tip while you're positioning and give yourself a new body piercing. Didn't do it personally, but it can be done...
One thing this gun doesn't do as well as a finish nailer is shoot at shallow angle. There's no deep countersink to push the angled nails in, and the pins are so fine that the grain of hard wood will sometimes curve your angled shots and turn them out the side. If you're shooting near the joint between two pieces of wood, it will very easily just follow the joint instead of angling through them. Just take some care in lining it up before you pull the trigger and that issue goes away.
A minor gripe: it is difficult to load a new clip of pins when there are a few still left on the old clip. The spring mechanism pushes the two clips together pretty hard when you close the magazine, and the clips can get doubled up, jamming the magazine. I was unable to prevent this, so I just made sure I only refilled when it was completely empty.'
