Carrying Case - garmin nuvi, garmin case
I don't understand all the glowing reviews for this case: based on the many four and five star ratings given by other owners, I figured it was a no-brainer and placed my order.
When it arrived, I was surprised to discover that the leather is coarse and thin and that there is no real padding for the Nuvi.
Basically, this is two pieces of hard plastic over which some low-grade leather has been stretched. The best thing I can say about it is that it fits the 650 snugly -- at least initially -- which is important, as one end of the case remains open (providing easy access to the headphone port and SD card slot, as well as a potential avenue for the carelessly handled Nuvi to slip out).
Do not look for a belt clip or carry strap option, either. This is simple protection of the most basic sort.
I do not expect this case to wear well; it just isn't constructed for regular daily use.
Given the price and quality of the Nuvi 600s, I expected better in a case.
BTW, shame on Garmin for not including even some flimsy basic protection like this in the box with the 650!
Unless it is important to you to get something with the Garmin name on it, I would advise shopping for a more durable and protective alternative to this case. Garmin 4.3-Inch Carrying Case
I bought this case from my Nuvi 760, I would buy it again.
Pros
+ reinfoced front and back makes for a sturdy case that protects the device from both scratches and impacts
+ very snug but easy to get in and out - hasn't ever slipped out
+ good size, it is about as small as it can be
+ soft interior to prevent scratches
+ small sleeve on the side
Cons
- It is snug enough to sometimes slide the power switch on the 760 as I take it in or out. I need to make sure it goes in with the switch down and locked so it doesn't come on when I put it in. Coming on on the way out isn't such a big deal since I usually want to use it.
Overall this is a great case, if you are careful you could call auto-power-on a feature!
First a comment on some previous reviews - This is not a high tech item, it's a protective case. Don't try to make more of it than that.
Now for my thoughts.
1) It fits my NUVI 750 like a glove.
2) The quality of construction is at least as good as any other case I've seen on the market. It also is aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
3) It slips into my shirt pocket with ease.
4) I realize that is not a form of structural armor for my device and that I still must exercise a certain amount of care to keep my NUVI from harm. It's not waterproof, fireproof, bombproof etc. It does keep my screen clean, prevents case scratches, protects it from the usual hazards of being knocked about in the console of my vehicle where it resides when not in use.
To summarize. It does what it is designed to do at a reasonable price.
Therefore it rates the 5 stars in my book.
Garmin nüvi 750 Auto Navigation System
i just picked up one of these for a nuvi 750 as the case is listed as compatible on the garmin site. stylish looking case however, the 700 series is thinner then 600 series. if you hold the case upside down, the nuvi will fall out. be caareful.
The Nuvi 250w did not come with a case so I ordered this one. It fits perfectly. The whole 200w series is the same size so any of them will fit.
It's a little expensive but it's a lot cheaper then replacing a cracked screen.
I ordered this case for my Garmin 200W. It works great, nice case - quality construction. I would not recommend this case for any 'rugged' applications. A hard shell case would probably be much better. But this case will suit the needs of most average consumers. It is durable and can be put in a bag or purse. My only complaint is I wish it had a closure tab or strap to give it extra security for the GPS to not slip out but I've not had any problems. Nice basic protective case.
This case came with my Nuvi 660. It is well worth having the case for storage in a glove box so that other items do not scratch the screen. There is a soft liner on the inside of the case. It's also a great way to protect your Nuvi if it is dropped. This is also great for the lady that wants to put it in her purse to use show off photos of your kids and grandkids to her friends. - Garmin Case - Gps Carrying Case - Garmin Nuvi - Leather Case'

4 bucks?? I love it!! This case is great, very durable, gets the job done. Stylish as well, red baby! And the screen protector is so nice as well. Buy you an iPod touch 4G, and get this package with it. People pay upwards of 20 and 30 bucks for cases alone, get this set right here!! Never have I seen such a good deal on something like this. Swag, swag! 4G Touch Red Silicone Protective Armour Case Cover & Screen Protector Kit for New Apple iPod Touch 4th Generation - 8GB 32GB 64GB
Why spend $20-$30 on a case for an iPod Touch when this one is just fine, and it comes with a screen protector! It may not be as slick as the more mainstream brands, but does the job just as well. Similar to buying a $10 HDMI cable or spending $70 or more on Monster cables.
If you want something rubberized and thin - this is a good choice for the price. The sides are a bit flimsy, so they need readjusting to get them back over the screen some times, but if you are looking for a smaller yet rubberized cover, this is a good choice. The screen protector that came with it fit PERFECTLY and went on PERFECTLY and has stayed on PERFECTLY for the entire 2 months we've had it - despite use by an 8 and 10 year old (they each have one). Make sure you do a moist cleansing on the screen to get rid of the statis before you put the screen protector on though, or you'll attract dust and make it unusable.
Items were very inexpensive, but I ended up throwing the $2 away. The silicon case keeps popping off and the screen protector is already peeling off after only being on a few days because of the silicon case.
I've installed quite a few screen protectors in my day and you could barely tell it was on my iPod when I was done. After I put the case on the next day, the corners kept peeling up. If I remove the case and leave it off the screen protector stays on fine. Two items do not work well together and I am now in the market for something better. I've already ordered a hard case to replace the silicon one. The silicon case is a huge dust/crumb magnet as well.
I might also mention that the screen protector came with no instructions, so first time installers beware.
This is a very flimsy case - be very careful when pulling the charger plug from the bottom of your Touch, or you will tear the silicone. It's way too thin and stretchy, way too expensive, and the screen protector is terrible. This is probably one item best not purchased on line - go to a real store and feel it first.
Bought this for my son for his new iPod and he really likes it. The color is bright and real red which is his favorite color. We haven't had any problems with the screen protector peeling off but we've only had it on for a couple of days. I say it's worth the price!
IT IS GREAT LOOKING AND DOES A GREAT JOB OF PROTECTING MY IPOD TOUCH.THE SKIN SUIT CLINGS TO THE UNIT.IN PRODUCTS LIKE IPOD YOU SHOULD ALWAYS THINK RESALE. KEEPING YOUR POD IN GREAT CONDITION WILL GET YOU THE MOST BUCKS ON A RESALE.
Without a cover, my son dropped and smashed the screen of his iPod Touch. When we replaced it (thankfully to the spill/drop coverage), we ordered this to protect it. He's an active kid and has dropped it many times since the first. This cover has prevented ANY damage. The price point is a no brainer for the protection. Ordering was easy and delivery was quick. I love Amazon.. They have everything we need. - Ipod Touch 4g Case - Ipod Touch 4g - Ipod Touch 4th Generation - Case'

Multifunction Tools - multifunction tools, topeak
It is a nice tool set, include all the allen wrenches you needed to adjust bike handle, brake and brake handle, speed rover, seat position.
It also include the chain tool for remove a section of the chain. In addition, it has two size spoke wrench for ajusting the wheel.
When you ride your bicycle, your tires may rub against the brakes. This is easy to fix wheel problem - spokes need adjusting. What you need to do is wheel truing.
Place bicycle upside down. Spin the wheel while holding a pice of chalk close enough to the wheel. After spun around a few times, stop the wheel and take a look those chalk marks. Do this process on the other side of the wheel. Tighten the spokes on the other side of the chalk mark and loosen the spoken facing the chalk mark. Adjust each spoke one turn.
Wipe out that chalk mark. Once all the chalk marks are gone, you can spin the wheels and using chalk to find the next spot to tighten and loose the spoke. At the end, you have a perfect round wheels :-)
The included spoke wrench has two sizes. It works fine for all our bikes.
I used this tool assembled a complete tandom bike in two hours. The tool felt little loose at the end of the assembly. But nothing really worn out. Topeak Alien II 26-Function Bicycle Tool
I got this for the chain tool. It works as well as a non-portable tool. For me, the other tools are just a bonus.
I would agree it has everything a "swiss-army" bike tool should have, including tire levers, spoke wrenches, a knife blade, and bottle opener. The halves separate and lock together easily.
Several of the tools lock open, and the knife also locks closes to absolutely prevent accidents. An interesting feature of the case - it has a spring loaded belt clip for easy attachment to a pack or your waist. It also apparently has available accessory mating clips for quick release attachment to seat post or handle bar stem.
I would like to have compared the blackburn tools,Blackburn Toolmanator Multi-Function Bike Tool & Blackburn Toolmanator II Multi-Function Bike Tool but the bike mechanic I spoke with agreed this would do fine.
Unfortunately had to send the first one back to Amazon - excellent return service by the way. The tool is held together using a small catch which was defective. For the price I expected it to work. The replacement tool also has a defective catch, so I am guessing its a bad run on their production line. The catch is slightly better on this one, i.e. the tool holds together most of the time.
One comment on the Allen keys (wrenches?). They are all metric and will not fit the bolt on the iBert Safe-t-seat. You will still need to carry around the Allen key that iBert send to you. I really wish the US was metric.
Happy Cycling to you all.
well as a 100% commuter who didn't understand the value of a good tool, i started learning when i opened this package. i love these tools, well i don't love them, but they are imperative for the tweaks i am learning to make on my bicycle. i did not know that this would fit every nook and cranny of my bike. feeling silly, i'll admit that i did not know that this toolkit would be so specifically designed for bicycles. when i got it i thought, i'm sure i'll use maybe the philips head and flat head screwdriver now and then, but what's all this other funky stuff for? eventually i found out. this is a handy handy part of my day. it has become necessary instead of just helpful. my bike carries this kit around because it knows better than me how much i will need it. my bike is smarter than me, see. if you don't have bike tools, i promise this will be a perfect start. i have commuted for 18 months now and never bought another tool except my pedro pedal wrench, so it seems that i still have everything i need right here in my fist, that's how small it is, oh and it is really sturdy, none of this aluminum-y crap that bends and cracks when you put pressure on it, this feels like old fashioned car parts used to feel-indestructable, the angles are so that i can get enough torque, in my girly hands, and with the right amount of patience (provided by me) i am learning to make friends with this little toolkit
again, i don't drive
not ever
i have to appreciate good tools or i will not be able to be a 100% bicyclist
Nice tool kit..very good quality but....
The pouch it comes in has a bracket on the back which mates with the F55 Fixer (not included) which staps on to any post, othewise there is no good means of attachment. The F55 Fixer is a $3.95 part which for some reason they decided not to include with the Alien II itself. Shipping for this part is $5.58. Now I ask you...who wouldn't want to have this included with the Alien II?
Topeak Alien II 26-Function Bicycle Tool Wow what a great device. Instead of husband lugging 4-8 tools in pouch that rips because of weight we had this tool. We took 11 mile bike ride in Cades Cove no help except on your own if you break down. All 11 bikes and family did fine. Several bikes needed adjustments and this tool handled all the problems that occurred like a champ. Thanks for thinking of it . I would call it "The McGyver" bike tool no duct tape included !!!
Pretty much every tool you will need in a compact case. Tool seams solidly built except for maybe the plastic parts, but you have to shave weight somewhere. It is not the same as having all the tools seperate. Don't plan on using it for routine maintenance, just for emergency repairs/adjustments. Ergonimacally it can be a little awkward to use, but it gets the job done. I used cable ties to mount mine to the seat post, as low as it will go. If it gets lost or stolen, I will replace it with the same model. It is worth the $$ just for the peace of mind knowing that you have pretty much whatever tool you may need. - Cycling - Topeak - All-in-one - Multifunction Tools'

Jump Starters - jumpstarter, jump starters
This charger works exactly as designed. It's an incredibly compact unit, and it has built-in cables which can be wrapped right onto the chassis, which saves an incredible amount of space and makes it very easy to carry/move/store.
I had a riding lawnmower that was draining batteries and constandly needed to be jumped off of my truck battery, which was incredibly cumbersome. Carrying this starter out to the lawnmower, jumping it, and then mowing the lawn was 100 times easier than backing out my truck, popping the hood, untangling the cables, pulling the mower out in front of the truck, and then jump-starting it. I've since repaired the lawnmower, but am keeping this handy little charger around for my wife's car, just in case she needs it. It barely takews up any room at all, and it holds quite a charge. I've jump-started my riding lawnmower twice and the battery indicator didn't even drop (I would imagine a car would take a much higher charge and therefore drain the battery more), but it still shows how much this charger is capable of holding.
If you're looking for a portable jump-starter, this is the one for you. Peak PKC0AO 300 Amp Jump Starter
I have an remote starter on my car and after work I figured I'll start my car as I walk to it. The car didn't start but the headlights were on. I went inside the car and tried to start it with the key and nada. No noise or anything. My automatic starter must've glitched. I kept trying to turn the key to start my car in hopes by magic it'll turn over. NO luck. I stopped to think for a second and then figured I'll put the car in valet mode (it's for the auto starter) to see if I could bypass the remote starter. I did and nothing. My last option was to see if i killed the battery by trying to start it so many times. I took this out of my trunk that hasn't been charged in 4 months and connected the red to the red battery terminal and the black to a nut some where on the engine. The green light turned on telling me I had a correct circuit. I then turned the knob to power on the jumper. I ran to the driver's seat and tried to start it. A sign of life! It's trying to turn over. I counted to 4 and then tried it a second time and it turned right on. The scream i let out could have been heard in China (where it was most likely made). I can't tell you how awesome this unit is. I used it several times for my DC accessories and it last a very long time. This product has yet to disappoint me. 5 STARS! Thanks for reading.
My Mazda3 would not start, battery cells dried out or just getting old.
Had to call AAA twice and at the same time ordered this unit.
Sure enough, battery weak again, car would not start, a fully charged up Peak to the rescue, INSTANT success.
Drove the car on the highway for a while and it now seems OK.
With the Peak in the back, no longer a need to worry about getting stuck or calling AAA.
Its best features:
low cost
small size
recharges in home via AC or in car via DC, all cables included.
Two things to pay attention to:
When charging (and this is true of any such unit) make SURE ground is NOT touching painted surface, it MUST make contact with raw metal.
If ground is touching a painted surface, the units contact indicator can give a false reading of contact.
Use the battery terminal ground at your own risk, if you do so for whatever reason, be sure there is NO fluid or fumes coming from battery.
The built-in indicator showing the units strength must be used when unit is ACTUALLY charging, otherwise false reading may occur.
Highly recommended!
I don't understand the negative reviews. Unless it wasn't fully charged (really?), connected properly (wouldn't surprise me) or you have an inappropriate car (such as a large truck, SUV, van etc.), there's no reason why this wouldn't work. It wouldn't surprise me if there are customers out there giving this negative reviews because they attempted to use this with a truck, 18-wheeler or a Hummer. Ridiculous.
Anyway, I have a 2008 Honda Civic EX. After today's 2-3 inches of snow fall overnight, compounded by the fact that I probably left the vanity lights on (for two nights, no less) and we've had Arctic winds and temperatures, my car didn't start.
This has been fully charged since I received it as a gift on Christmas. I securely connected it the battery. Turned it on (which some negative reviewers probably didn't do) and voila. Car started. It worked exactly as advertised. Also as advertised, I'm going to charge this now. It's recommended you charge it after every jump start so that you have 100% juice for the next situation. This is also something negative reviewers probably neglect to do.
So what's not to like? It's small, compact, and fairly lightweight. It jump started the car. This also receives bonus points since you can charge it in the car and in the home (both cables are included). It's perfect for those that go camping with a group. You can charge it through the cigarette lighter (someone else's, obviously, since your battery is dead) to get you on your way.
My car battery was discharged due to the frigid East coast weather and a week of no movement.
After this jump starter was completely charged I followed the instructions and the car started flawlessly.
Faster and safer than the traditional car to car jump start, gotta have one.
I bought this jump starter locally, not from amazon, but wanted to leave a review to help anyone considering buying one. I have a small car, a Hyundai Brio (Accent); and this jump started worked great.
About two days after buying it, I found my battery dead at work where it was parked as I was heading out. I had charged it at home and left it in its box in the trunk. I popped my hood, hooked it up to my battery per the instructions that are clearly printed on the jump starter itself, and by the time I got in the driver seat there was enough juice to start the engine. I was thoroughly impressed.
Disconnected and drove off. Great product, but I caution you that this particular model is probably only made for small cars not much bigger than mine. They have other models that can probably handle larger vehicles for more money.
Just thought I'd pass this on. Fantastic little product, fast to set up and use, and worked great. Actually, since that time, I had to jump my car again. (Brake light was staying on and killing battery. That's fixed now.) This jump starter probably has about three good jumps in it before it has to be recharged but should be recharged after each time technically I think.
Outstanding. Did what it was designed to do. Highly recommended. - Portable Power - Jump Start - Jump Starters - Jumpstarter'

I've had this camera for about a week now and have been loving it ever since. I've used another "flip" camcorder and the Bloggie Touch puts it to shame.
Pros:
1. Love the quick on and record. Great for spontaneous videos of the little one.
2. The touch screen interface makes it both useful and fun to use the big screen.
3. The still pictures come out brilliant, when the lighting and focus is good.
4. The battery charges up super fast and stays with you for a whole day of shooting.
5. The image stabilization is good. You can take decent video while walking around and panning too. Note that it is not optical, but electronic SteadyShot stabilization.
6. The lens is very good quality and the pictures are crisp.
7. Really like the "snap picture while recording" feature. I find myself using that feature the most. The video doesn't stall while the picture (full 12M resolution) is being taken and since the focus and exposure are usually locked well while you're in the middle of the video, the pictures come out great.
Cons:
1. In low lighting, there is quite a bit of graininess and using the digital zoom makes it much worse.
2. While the lens is good quality, the auto-focus mechanism is really very slow. If you move around the camera too much before focus has locked on, the auto-focus will almost never lock.
3. What I really miss with this camera is a flash. Even a tiny one would help with low light pictures.
4. Minor annoyance: to preview a picture right after you take it, you have to go through at least two clicks. Sony could have designed it so that it always goes to the last picture taken by default, instead of the thumbnail list of all pictures/video on the device.
I decided to purchase this camera over a still camera that can do video because:
1. This one is dead simple. One button to turn on, one to take video and one to take stills. This makes it both easy and quick to use.
2. This one can do 1080p video and 720p at 60fps.
3. Its under $200 and is smaller than your phone.
4. Its got internal flash and USB connector - no more SD cards or cables. 8GB is enough to get you through the day before you can come back to your laptop to dump the pictures.
I decided to purchase this camera over other ones in the same category because:
1. Its got a big display and the touch screen is fun to use.
2. Its got a better lens system than the others.
3. Its got (some) image stabilization. Sony Bloggie Touch (MHS-TS20/B) - 8 GB, 4 Hours NEWEST MODEL (Black)
I wanted to like this camera, but it's been a complete disappointment. First and foremost, the automatic focusing is terrible. The image is often out of focus, and there's no way to tell the camera to try focusing again. (Why not add this and handle it like the iphone does? Just touch on the subject you want in focus.) Most portable video cameras like this (e.g. flip and kodak) have fixed focus, and I was looking forward to the Sony's ability to focus, since it helps get better macro shots. Instead, the camera is just constantly hunting for focus and often not getting it.
The ergonomics are also a problem. I often want to hold the camera vertically, because it's more comfortable, but still take the usual landscape wide angle footage (again, like my flip and kodak cameras handle it). Instead, the Sony switches to verticle orientation when you hold it vertically. So, you've got to hold it sideways all the time, which isn't wildly comfortable for any length of time.
Adding insult to injury, none of the useful tools for sharing footage online work with the mac (though it will import into imovie).
The touch screen is nice and responsive and the video quality is good when it's in focus (though with the Sony's typical slightly colder color/white balance). But the camera's downsides--particularly the terrible constant focus hunting & missing--far outweigh its pluses.
I purchased this camera a few days ago and I absolutely love it. I wanted to get a pocket sized HD video camera for under $200 and I was considering this item to the Flip Mino and Flip Ultra. I settled on this item over those two Flip cameras for the following reasons:
1. Can record in 1080p.
2. 3" screen over 2" screen.
3. Can take still photos with Bloggie. Cannot do this with Flip.
4. Can record in 16:9 or 4:3.
5. Bloggie has 4x digital zoom compared to 2x digital zoom for Flip.
The biggest selling point for me is being able to record in 1080p. It makes a difference if you are going to output to a TV (via HDMI) that can support 1080p.
Now, I will say that the accessories for the Flip are much cooler but I wasn't shopping for accessories.
Also, some people complain of the video quality in low-lighting. Duh! The Flip, Bloggie, Zi8 type cameras are not really designed for low light settings. If you want a HD video recorder/camera that fits in your pocket, easy to use, has a nice wide screen, and takes great video for under $200 I strongly suggest the Bloggie. If you want a HD video recorder/camera that is perfect for all situations in all sorts of lighting for under $200 you're not going to find it.
Edit on 12/29/2010: I just learned today that while I can have over four hours of recording when using the 720p 30fps setting I cannot record continuously for over 30 minutes. I'm still very pleased with the bloggie but the 30 minute time limit is a big disappointment. If for example you do some kind of martial arts class and you want to set it on a stand and record the entire hour long class you will not be able to.
Consider this to be a rebuttal of the reviews of the Sony Bloggie Touch which were badly written by non-photographers, whiners, people who don't read camera manuals, people who don't understand that a camera needs, YES!, light ... Like flash? Get one of the thousands of cameras that feature automatic, built-in flash. Do you understand that a camera, even one with anti-shake features, must be held as motion-free as possible for best results, particularly in poor light? Video cameras don't use flash. Sorry, incorporating a video light on this camera would at least quadruple it's really handy size. Don't like the touch interface? Are you a Luddite? This is the most fantastic camera interface I have ever used. A touch interface like this is the main feature that makes the iPhone, Touch, and iPad so popular with tens of millions of people worldwide.
The focusing is quite satisfactory - do you want a ring around the lens so you can focus yourself like twenty years ago? Do you think a very, very small form factor 1080p video/still camera which costs less than $160 with the touch interface making it the most easy-to-use camera of its type must do everything perfectly seeing that no camera is perfect regardless of price or class? I think the ergonomics are superb just as the iPod ergonomics are superb.
I like my iPod Nano for the same reasons I admire the Sony Bloggie Touch design: small, elegant, easy interface, excellent performance within the design constraints imposed by current technology. Attach the wrist loop, hold the Bloggie as instructed in the PDF user manual (did you read that?), practice for 30 seconds and Voilà! Success. If you have a tripod so cheap it doesn't have a vertical flip capability, you have no right speak about tripod use.
My use so far has shown the Bloggie Touch to be everything I hoped it would be in video and stills. I have numerous cameras including Nikon SLRs, Leicas, Fuji, and Canon from the days of film up to the present. Some photos I've posted online have gotten tens of thousands of views. I have been a press photographer. I love cameras and am inclined to say there are no bad cameras, only bad photographers. Having a camera with oneself and knowing how to use it with style and making use of its features, whatever they may be, is the mark of a photographer. You want quicker focus, get a Leica M9 and focus by hand. Get a Nikon D3 and a few thousands of dollars worth of lenses and other accessories to get the features you think the Bloggie Touch should have but doesn't.'

Samsung - 120hz, samsung
So far, this TV ROCKS! I bought from Amazon because the price was fantastic, shipping was free, no tax, and I used gift certificates from a certain grocery store, which gave me $ off at the gas pump. All of this was, of course, after selecting Samsung and this specific model, and then shopping around for price. I knew I wanted a 46" LCD for my living room, so I started looking. At 1st, I was gonna get the Toshiba 46G300U for $650 during Black Friday at Shmears, but after visiting many stores, I was drawn to Samsung's picture clarity. Just amazing! A store I liked a lot was HHShmeggs because they had so many to choose from and the store lighting in the TV section was closest to my actual living room.
So, I ordered from Amazon and a few days later, there were 2 delivery guys at my front door. The TV got to me before some things that I ordered days earlier! They brought Bessie in and were somewhat conscious of my carpet by asking if I had something to set the box on (never mind that they were wearing their shoes, but I digress). I grabbed an old blanket and they set her down. They asked if they can open it to check the screen and I said yes. They slid it out carefully and set it down. We all looked over the screen with a flashlight. Everything looked good. I had them place it back in the box to allow it to get to room temp before setting it up. They had me sign that it was in good physical shape, but they listed that I didn't power up the TV because it was cold. They left and I smiled at my new television.
While waiting for Bessie to get to room temp, I assembled the stand with 4 provided screws and read over the manual. Turns out this TV has a LAN port, which I did not see in any spec listing for this TV. This is nice because you can check for firmware/software upgrades over the Internet. My new U-Verse cable receiver has a LAN jack, so I have an ethernet cable between it and the TV. I checked for upgrades, but did not find any. The TV has software from October, so I wasn't surprised that no upgrades were available.
The TV's Menu system is pretty good. I haven't had much trouble finding any settings I was looking for. There's also a button labeled Tools, which gives you quick access to a few settings you may use more frequently. The remote itself is nice. It has a backlight button to see better in low light, which is always a plus. I would like if I could label my inputs with custom labels. For instance, I have a media player and the closest label they have is PVR STB. If I could just label it Media Player, the Mrs and the kids would have an easier time selecting the correct input. I would also like to hide inputs that are not used. That would make flipping through them much quicker.
Some have said that they do not like Samsung's Motion Plus feature because it makes movies look like fake soap operas. This is true for some of the Motion Plus modes, like Standard, but there's one called Clear, which looked just fine. As far as the Standard mode, it does have it's place. I found that it makes animated movies like Toy Story, Monsters Inc, Kung Fu Panda, etc look almost 3D. My toddler absolutely loves the effect! I set his animated movies to Dynamic color and Standard motion plus for an awesome looking picture. Samsung's color is just amazing! Dynamic color mode is very bright, but for movies like The Matrix, I use Movie Mode to see more detail in darker scenes.
One catch is keeping the TV clean. This thing is a dust magnet in my house. They do provide a special cleaning cloth where you just use water, but I think I will be using it very often. I think I may pick up a swiffer duster for dusting the set and just use the cloth when there is more build up.
The TV did not come with a safety strap to tether it to my wooden stand, but since it sits so far back on my stand, I don't think my toddler will try to reach it. I'll have a close eye on him just in case. He knows that touching Bessie is off limits, but you know how toddlers can be...
Well, that's it for now. I'll update if I think of anything else... Samsung LN46C600 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV (Black)
Well I was a little hesitant at first purchasing a product in this day and age when reviews can make or break a product. Having read only one review being that it was fairly new to market made me feel un-easy about making this purchase. But then again its a Samsung LCD and not just some run of the mill product. What was I looking for in an LCD? Nothing special, just the best features and quality that I can get for the money. So not being an expert (who is?) I just compared must have features on top of the line LCD units and made sure they were included in this Samsung LN46C600 flat panel set. To my surprise just about every feature was included and some. Same top of the line features as the much higher priced units. The picture quality was amazing and I'm glad that I stuck to my guns with my wife and got the unit that had 120 Hz verses 60 Hz. You really do see a difference in the picture (motion blur) when seeing action shots on an LCD. This unit has a feature called auto motion plus which kicks in and smooths out the action. I have no idea how it works but it does and having a very critical eye for picture quality I was impressed. One thing you might want to consider is the kind of wall mount that you choose. I always went for a tilt wall mount. Stuck in a fixed position. Not this time. I wanted to make sure that I could see this unit from almost any angle in my living room. So I opted for an articulating full motion wall mount. I checked into these types of mounts and could not believe how expensive they were, $300 plus. I was ready to throw up my hands on this idea when I ran accross a mount made by a company called Cheetah on Amazon. They have mounts that hold up to 165 lbs. and cost only $79 bucs. So now I'm a happy camper. Listen we can sit here and rave about this LCD and at the end of the day your going to have to decide what works for you. But you will be very satisfied with this purchase. The price is right and like I said the feature set and picture quality just can't be beat. Enjoy!!! - 46 Inch - 120hz - Hdtv - Samsung'
