Kenneth Cole - skeleton watch

I can easily say this is the nicest watch I've owned. I debated whether or not to buy it because the case window is made out of mineral, as opposed to the much more scratch resistant (and frankly better) sapphire. But seeing as how this watch is meant to be worn daily and isn't necessarily a luxury piece- I'm fine with the mineral window. That's not to say it isn't elegant, because due to the matte gunmetal color, the silver hour indicators and of course the skeleton inside- this watch is gorgeous. I find myself staring at the gears as they turn the hands, it's intoxicating. I can't emphasize enough just how stunning the design of this piece is.

If you want a collector's item, look elsewhere. But if you want a quality watch that seamlessly blends fashion and function (for an extremely affordable price,) then buy this watch. That's what I was looking for and I am quite satisfied.

*The watch is practically the same as this one, Kenneth Cole New York Men's KC1631 Skeleton Dial Automatic Analog Leather Strap Watch the only difference is the color. I point this out just in case you're hesitant about buying because of the few reviews. Kenneth Cole New York Men's KC1632 Skeleton Dial Automatic Analog Leather Strap Watch

I just bought this watch as a gift to myself. It's a gunmetal color and very nice looking. I have another automatic Kenneth Cole watch and have really enjoyed it. The quality of the watch seems very good and after seeing it at Macys for 150 and getting it here for 66% of the price I couldn't be happier. It's a big watch and may look big if you have little girlie wrists but if you're a big burly man like myself it will be a good size. That's all I got.

Received this watch on Friday July 15th 2011. First thing I have to say is that the quality of the watch is great! feel strong and durable. The matte finish makes it look unique, while the automatic gears are an eye catcher. The leather band is top notch. The only draw back i see is the little "o" ring that holds the strap down is large and loose, i perfer a tighter fit. otherwise the watch is amazing. - Skeleton Watch'

Video Production - canon, camcorder

I bought this book to go with my HF S100. As compared to the owner's manual, which several reviewers have done, it is definitely more colorful and of better quality. That should be no surprise to anyone who has a Canon manual; they're clearly low-cost publications that are basic at best.

Things to note about this book:

1. Very high quality; easy to read; well laid out.

2. Since it covers a number of different VIXIA models, you'll find a lot of "wasted" pages. If it was, for example, tailored to only my model, it would probably have about a third less pages. Then again, it wouldn't be as marketable to such a large audience and would not sell as well. I spend a lot of time flipping pages trying to find the section pertinent to my particular model.

3. You'll still need your Canon manual. I wanted to check how to format the SD card inside my camera, and when I finally found mention of this within the book, it told me to refer to the manual that came with the camera. Huh?

4. A lot of information within the book pertains to shooting video in general (shot composition, types of microphones, etc) and not how to use the VIXIA specifically. I would prefer to have it only focused on the technical aspects of my camcorder in greater detail, but maybe that's just me.

5. I would have liked to have seen more information explaing the various settings that are available for video resolution and frames per second, with the pros and cons for each.

Lastly, although the book is very well designed and colorful, I find myself taking the manual that came with my camcorder with me on trips/outings and leaving this book at home. Although the manual is very basic with no color photos, it does include the answer to most every "how to" or "what's that button for?" question I come up with, whereas this book doesn't. Plus, it only gives me information for MY camcorder model. The manual is also much smaller and therefore easier to travel with. I feel much safer having it with me to use as a practical "go-to" guide as opposed to this "field guide." Canon VIXIA HD Camcorder Digital Field Guide

I bought this book for my HG20, and it delivers. This Guide should be shipped with the camera, because what good is knowing that a camera has a certain function if you don't know how to apply it to everyday shooting? This book does a great job showing you why and when you would use your camera's features. It also explains what the camera can't do very well, and gives you solutions. This book is also quite comprehensive on the functions of the cameras. My instruction manual is in the trash.

I talked my local library into ordering this book and I am certainly glad I did. The book is very informative, gave me great information I didn't know, and useful information on subjects I thought I already new well.

The information on lighting and manual settings for my HF11 were especially helpful. My only complaint is that for a given setting, the author does not cover the differences between the different camera UIs. So a little extra searching on my part to find the where the settings were on my camera was necessary.

I found this book to be the easiest way to learn my camera. The instruction manual that came with the camera gives insight into nothing. This book tackles features one at a time and delivers clear and concise explanations born from the authors own experience as a professional videographer. Canon should put this book in the box.

I'm a teacher and my students use the Canon VIXIA cameras to gather their news stories. I have started using this book to help my students learn to use the cameras and for lessons in videography. This is a very thorough field guide for each camera and is not based on theory. The author actually shows you which buttons to push and explains when you would use a feature in the field. This is very important for my students. The section on sound has already improved the overall quality of their videos, by showing which internal settings to adjust, and how to properly use mic accessories in the field. We use the HF11, HG21, and HV30 and I found the explanations for each camera to be seamless. This book is very helpful.

Lonzell Watson's latest addition to Wiley's "Digital Field Guide" series is an easy-to-read and informative guide to using the new Canon VIXIA HD camcorder. Watson's chapters are neatly organized with bullet points, tips and lots of pictures. I especially liked the "cross reference" tabs throughout that point you to different chapters where a topic, mentioned in passing, is covered in-depth.

The Quick Tour up front will get you oriented right away. And for those new to videography altogether, chapter 4 is a great, basic primer on how to compose, white-balance and adjust your images for better results. If you want to capture nature/wildlife in particular, be sure to check out the section in chapter 3 on continuous shooting (you can move easily between still and video capture with this camera). Another plus: Watson details exactly what the various VIXIA models in the series can and can't do, so if you have an HF10 or an HR10, you're covered.

Anyone who owns a VIXIA should definitely own this book!

This is a comprehensive guide for the Vixia camcorders. It has an extensive list of their operation in the first chapters and them some chapters dealing with videography. The chapters concerning the operation were a bit lenghthy and confusing as the author tried to cover all Vixia models. The videography chapters were more useful and interesting. Generally, a good book for people buying the specific Vixia models and who are starting videography.

The information is written clearly in this book, and I was actually quite surprised by it's comprehensiveness on the functions of the cameras. I learned a lot about my camera in a short amount of time, and that's what I was looking for. I also enjoyed the fact that the author provided me with easier, and many times, more efficient ways to use camera functions than what's in the manual. This is a very helpful book. - Hf10 - Canon Camcorder - Canon - Camcorder'

Mens Wallet - mens wallet, trifold wallet

This is an average wallet by far, nothing special. Cool design though. The lining inside has a very cheap feel, so does the leather. Some of the credit card slots are too tight to put anything in - it's just made too small. The ID slot in the middle, again - too small or short. My driver's license sticks out and that looks awful. The outer shell is too big/long so it doesn't fold right. I guess this is for when you start packing lots of stuff into it, which I do not plan to do. After I started putting a few credit cards in the good slots the wallet took on a funny shape. Again, the slots are very tight. With a good wallet, they buff the inside of the leather and that holds the cards in. This wallet uses paper thin leather, so the slots are very tight - cheap. I've seen much better wallets for less, but I choose to get this one based on the reviews and the design. Poor decision.

What is not mentioned, is it comes with a change dish (wallet holder, but I'm going to use it as a change dish) - you can see it upside down in the main picture. It's very nice, solid and that, as it stands, it the best thing about this purchase. Nautica Men's Trifold,Black,One Size

This is an excellent, top-quality wallet, exactly as described. My husband absolutely loves it. He has been looking for a good leather tri-fold for a long time and I was happy to find this on-line for Christmas.

Wallet is not bad looks very good, but the inside plastic card holders are very cheap and weak and will tear within no time. I already had to super glue mine 3 times. Also cant fit too much cash in it or it will not bend properly and be uncomfortable in your back pocket.

I was looking for a new tri-fold wallet to replace my current bulky, heavy wallet and settled on this after looking at many other options; I must say I am happy with my choice.

The quality of the wallet is great and the wallet is so light that I don't even notice it half the time. The card slots were a bit stiff when I first started using it, but they've loosened up with normal, everyday use. Initially, avoid trying to put any paper (business, etc.) cards into the slots or else they'll probably bend.

Hey, jus wanted to say I love this wallet, the embossed Nautica sails on the front are jus cool and persons with class will notice it also...I also like the signature blue and white stripes on the inside where u keep ur cash. The only gripe is dat dis wallet is really for looks, if u have a million cards and have ur cash any which way in it...it would not close properly and be bulky. So jus keep ur wallet neat and u'll be fine.

I really like this wallet. It is well-made and durable. It is also very convenient to access cash and credit cards.

I highly recommend this wallet for anyone who likes trifold wallets.

Other thoughts:

Smells like leather

Nice wallet but could be bigger, that is one disadvantage of buying online that you cannot evaluate their size. Also the wallet does not come a standard middle pocket. Other than this, you will be happy with the product. - Accessories - Trifold Wallet - Mens Wallet - Wallet'

Training Fins - monofin, fins

This was a purchase for my teenage daughter for use while swimming with dolphins. It's a fun way to swim but it uses muscles not ordinarily used so yes you can swim fast, but unless you have practiced and built up those muscle groups you will get tired faster. She has a woman's size 8 very narrow foot and these fit her well enough but she did complain some about slipping. I think they say it's for up to a man's 11 or something and I kind of doubt that very much. The slipping may have been addressed wearing socks or booties but I will not likely ever know :p

For the money I can't imagine that there are many other monofins out there to compete with this one. If you want to spend mega-dollars you can get a monofin with built in booties like snorkeling fins have. This one served our purpose. FINIS Rapid Monofin

I've been using the Finis Rapid mono fin for 1/2 year now, 2x week in the pool. So far no problems with any failing parts. If you have never tried a mono fin yet and just want to use it for recreational swim training this is a good fin for a reasonable price. The rubber of the "Rapid" is rather soft so that the blade bends easier which makes it less difficult to swim with. The down side of this effect is that you will never reach top performance. If you want to go serious you might want to get a more professional fin with a fiber glass blade and closed heels.

However, for new mono fin users (like me) the Rapid fin provides a good workout and you will notice a difference in your swimming results and overall fitness after a few weeks. On that note - training with a mono fin is probably one of the most efficient ways to strengthen your lower back and core section without putting load on it compared to any type of weight training.

I do agree with the others though that the foot pocket is on the narrow side. I have shoe size 10 for men and my feet fit barely. Little improvement tip for the manufacturer: Next time they design a new product that is supposed fit people in the U.S. or Europe, don't take the measurements in China ;-)

Purchasing this item was a WASTE of time. The manufacturer claims this item fits mens shoe size 8 - 14, and it does NOT. I'm a woman who wears womens size 7 and it hardly even fit me. Had to place a return :-(

I'm a Womens size 7 and a half. I do not own this adult one (but I know ppl who do) I own the Finis Wave Monofin (it says for children) but it can fit any women to I'd say 8 and a half, and I have a wide foot. So I hope this helps you for sizing if you a womens 8 and below get the wave.. if your larger get this! - Training Fins - Fins - Monofin - Finis'

Denim Leggings - faux, leggings

I have chicken legs. There. I said it.

I bought these so-called denim "leggings" thinking that they would have a "give" similar to that of other lycra-enhanced jeans or riding pants but would fit nicely into my tall winter boots. I wanted something close-fitting, like leggings, but not as revealing as those leggings that make you look as if you have forgotten to wear pants.

Now, as I said above: I have chicken legs. I have normal looking hips and thighs with skinny skinny knees and calves and tiny ankles. These pants fit my hips and thighs (forget the butt lifter stuff, though they do have a back seam detail that gives a slightly slimming optical illusion from the back), but they are murder from the knees down.

Shackles have more leeway. I could blame the fact that there's only 1% lycra or spandex or whatever in the fabric, but I have all cotton denim pants that give just fine around the knees especially. I would wear these to prevent blood clots. But if you have normal calves, you will probably hate these pants. Vanilla Star Junior's Butt Lifter Jegging,Black,9 - Denim - Saka - Leggings - Faux'

Darren Aronofsky - mila kunis, ballet

Darren Aronofsky has been circling movie news sites pretty frequently as of late. He recently signed on to direct the stand-alone sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine (appropriately titled The Wolverine). He also developed a rather large and devoted fanbase over the course of directing fantastically surreal films such as Pi, Requiem for a Dream, and The Wrestler, but his psychological thriller Black Swan has also been gaining quite a bit of steam leading up to its December 3rd release. Despite Aronofsky's already well-established reputation and the rather high anticipation for the film, Black Swan still delivers a product that is even better than expected.

Like most ballerinas, Nina (Portman) lives, breathes, and is completely devoted to dance. Artistic director Thomas Leroy (Cassel) is preparing a new spring production of his interpretation of Swan Lake. Nina is next in line to become prima ballerina after the former dancer to hold that spot, Beth Macintyre (Ryder), reluctantly retires. Everything seems to be shifting in that direction until a rather unorthodox, provocative, and unstable (in a dangerous kind of way) dancer named Lily (Kunis) arrives. Lily seems to have an eye for Nina's spot as soon as she walks through the door. Thomas begins to see Nina as the White Swan, which signifies innocence and perfection and Lily as the Black Swan, which is more sensual and deceptive. The problem is that one dancer is required to play both parts. Other than the stiff competition she has to deal with, The Swan Queen role begins to take its toll on Nina who begins to think Lily wants even more than her spot in the production. Nina's obsessive behavior leads to her releasing her dark side that she must now struggle to control.

Aronofsky has always had an exceptional eye for cinematography in his films. His use of micro-photography in The Fountain made the entire film a visually stunning spectacle that will stand the test of time while something like a someone's pupil dilating or a drug deal gone bad in Requiem for a Dream is memorable because of the way and angle Aronofsky shot it rather than relying on its disturbing content to make the scene a classic. Black Swan is no different. Being placed behind Nina whenever she heads to the dance venue gives the viewer a rather unique third person perspective that also gives the impression that you're walking right behind the main character of the film. The intense dream sequences are also shot in a way that flawlessly blur the line between reality and hallucination. Is this really happening or is it all a figment of Nina's deteriorating imagination? Figuring that out is half the film's charm.

The extraordinary main cast is the main ingredient to the film being as great as it is though. The key players all seem to have this twisted side to them that is nearly the exact opposite of the way they first appear to be, which coincides with the Swan Lake theme. Winona Ryder steals most of the screen time she's given whether she's trashing her dressing room, yelling obscenities in Portman's face, or sitting in a hospital room. Even though Mila Kunis seems to play nothing more than her role in Forgetting Sarah Marshall to the most extreme degree on the surface, it's the edge she's given that results in unpredictability for her character. While Vincent Cassel's performance is strong thanks to his sensual reputation with his dancers and Barbara Hersey is both charming and disturbing as Nina's mother who seems to secretly be trying to live in her daughter's dance shoes after a missed opportunity in her past, it's no surprise to hear that Natalie Portman is the heart of the film. Nina is so consumed with dance that she keeps pushing herself even when her mind and body begin to show her that she's had enough. Her breakdowns are heartbreaking and engaging to watch while her transformation by the end of the film can best be described as a monstrous beauty. It's all thanks to Portman's powerful, phenomenal, tour de force performance.

While some might not be surprised that Aronofsky has created yet another masterpiece, this may be his most solid and well-rounded film to date. Black Swan is a beautiful, disturbing, and captivating work of art that features gorgeous camera work, an excellent and mindbending story, and what is perhaps the performance of Natalie Portman's career. It's hard to argue with Black Swan being the best film of the year. Black Swan [Blu-ray]

With this dark and audacious look at artistry and dance, bad boy auteur Darren Aronofsky once again pushes a film's intensity past all point of reason. "Black Swan" will be alternately hailed a masterpiece and an over-indulgent piece of excess. Or, more appropriately, perhaps it is a masterpiece of excess. More akin to the fantastical setting of "The Fountain" than to the confrontational realism of "The Wrestler," Aronofsky has created a remarkably vivid bit of lunacy with "Black Swan." And to be fair, I think he absolutely succeeds in what he has set out to do--creating a hyper dramatic nightmare that blurs the lines between reality and madness. Thematically, many films have covered the same ground--but few so visually, stylishly, or in so unapologetic a way. No matter how many films Aronofsky unleashes on the world, I will always hold the feverish "Requiem For a Dream" closest to my heart--but for visceral thrills, "Black Swan" rates a very high second.

Equal parts "The Turning Point," "All About Eve," and "Repulsion," "Black Swan" tells the story of a ballerina struggling for perfection. Natalie Portman is cast as the dancer given the shot of a lifetime--to play the lead in a new revival of "Swan Lake." It's a dream part, but one that is fraught with peril. The director, Vincent Cassel, thinks Portman is perfect for the technical aloofness of the program's White Swan but lacks the fire and abandon when the dance transforms her into the Black Swan. And Portman pushes herself and pushes herself, to the point that her body is manifesting strange physical trauma. Cassel tries to unleash the passion of the Black Swan while the company's newest dancer (Mila Kunis) seems to embody the darker freedoms that Portman needs to embrace to be successful. And the more Portman throws herself into the role mentally and physically, the film starts to push into the territory of unrepentant psychological thriller.

Portman's descent into madness is exquisitely uncomfortable and off kilter. As the film becomes progressively violent and unpredictable, the lines between what is real and what is imagined become impossible to untangle. Aronofsky stages it all like a brilliantly choreographed high wire act. If you go with the flow, you'll be caught up in a thrillingly original nightmare. Portman has never been better. She pushes herself both physically and psychologically here, and hers is surely one of the most heartrending and affecting performances of the year. Cassel is perfect straddling the line between mentor and villain, Kunis has just the requisite wildness, and Barbara Hershey goes for broke as Portman's domineering mother. However, in approximately three minutes of screen time, it is Winona Ryder (as an aging dancer replaced by Portman) that provides one of the film's most indelible performances.

That said, I did love "Black Swan." I won't say that it's brilliantly filled with deep meaning--but I will say that it's brilliantly entertaining. The dancing is perfection and the final performance is absolutely chilling, truly not something to be forgotten! A great score (it's hard to go wrong using Tchaikovsky), dynamic cinematography, top notch performances, fantastic visual effects all combine to make this one of the truly memorable films of 2010. Let's hope Aronofsky never loses his touch for demented fever dreams--even as he's moving into Wolverine territory. KGHarris, 12/10. - Darren Aronofsky - Mila Kunis - Thriller - Ballet'

Concealed Carry

I could tell that Massad Ayoob's THE GUN DIGEST BOOK OF CONCEALED CARRY was going to be a good read when I saw the first photo of the first chapter: it showed how one should handle getting a hug while carrying a concealed firearm. This sort of practical and useful information is what fills this book. I own other books on carrying concealed firearms, but this is the first one I've seen that was able to do an authoritative and exhaustive catalog of the things that need to be considered. I've been carrying for more than two decades, and I am impressed with this book.

Gun Digest did the right thing in getting Massad Ayoob to author this book. Ayoob is a police officer, competitive shooter and trainer who is also a master writer and riveting storyteller. As an individual licensed to carry a concealed firearm, I've been reading his informative columns and books since the `80s. As a criminal defense lawyer, I'm familiar with the high esteem in which the Bar holds Ayoob as an expert witness on such matters. His training is held in high regard by the firearms community, and he has designed holsters and other police gear that have been very favorably received. Ayoob's ability to precisely and accurately communicate legal information to lay people is renowned - and it's certainly on display in this book. I can't think of a better author for this book.

Ayoob's 254-page THE GUN DIGEST BOOK OF CONCEALED CARRY covers a breadth of subject area that I would have found intimidating to contemplate. Fortunately, it appears that his decades of training police and civilians in firearms matters well prepared him for the task. The book, well illustrated with hundreds of clear black and white photos, begins with an overview of considerations that come with carrying a concealed firearm, as well as thoughts about why concealed carry might be something that would be helpful to a given woman or man. Ayoob then delves in some detail into the legal considerations of where, how and what to carry, modifications, ammunition, etc. He discusses when deadly force can legally be used, illustrating and fleshing out his points with true stories to keep it interesting, but always carefully writing in such a way that accurate information is conveyed. The author is always cautious to ensure that he recommends the safest legal course of action to his readers. There's no macho loudmouthing here - Ayoob is thoughtful and precise in his discussions of legal matters . . . and the subject warrants no less.

The practical matters of what might best suit an individual for carry are delved into in great detail, all illustrated with photos of different women and men of different builds - really demonstrating the points under discussion. Ayoob mentions small but vital considerations that most folks only learn after years of carry. Sitting down with THE GUN DIGEST BOOK OF CONCEALED CARRY gives the reader access to a master's knowledge of how to select a wardrobe for concealed carry, which defensive loads to use, the dangers of overpenetration, the advantages and disadvantages of every type of carry option and well-illustrated tips on the use of such. Open carry and IDPA competition are given consideration as well.

This book is not about how to shoot or how to select a carry gun for a given individual's needs: Ayoob's well-received 2007 sister volume, THE GUN DIGEST BOOK OF COMBAT HANDGUNNERY, provides guidance in these areas. While I've referred new shooters to the COMBAT HANDGUNNERY book, I believe the new 2008 GUN DIGEST BOOK OF CONCEALED CARRY is perhaps more even more vital for them to own. I would recommend that anyone who considers carrying a handgun add both of these books to their library. While they would provide an unbelievable education for a newbie, a veteran concealed carrier will find great and valuable information in them as well.

I have given copies of Ayoob's COMBAT HANDGUNNERY book as gifts to shooter friends, and you can bet that I will be buying copies of this new CONCEALED CARRY book to supplement these gifts. I don't know a defensive handgun shooter who would not derive some benefit from this book, and I'll be ordering some for friends and family members. Amazon has a pretty astonishing price on this book, by the way, at about 35% off the cover price that you'll find in your neighborhood bookstore. The Gun Digest Book Of Concealed Carry

I have known the author of The Gun Digest Book of Concealed Carry for about ten years now, and also know several of the people mentioned and pictured in this book. Reading through it felt like attending an extended lecture from one of Mas's classes at the Lethal Force Institute. I have personally taken a number of those classes and thought I would have a strong feeling of "been there, heard that" reading this book, but instead found myself either learning or remembering something important in almost every chapter. You might expect this book to feel like an advertisement for the latest whiz-bang product from some company advertising in a gun magazine. Not so. Rather, it is a compiliation of Mas's fifty odd years of carrying firearms for self protection, and over thirty years teaching this material to others. Reading it feels like sitting down for drinks and an extended Q&A session with the author.

The chapters are laid out in a logical fashion such that the reader should just start at page one and continue until the end of the book. Too often, books in this category are set out in a pick and choose format, where the reader needs to look at the table of contents or an index to find something relevant. With Concealed Carry, just start reading and continue learning until you hit the back cover.

Mas starts with why people carry firearms, and the lifestyle choices and changes that such a decision will require. Once he has helped get your mind right about the concept, he moves on to choosing firearms and ammunition for self defense. The firearms he recommends are those he has shot, or seen work in law enforcement, shooting classes, and competition. The primary need in a defensive firearm is reliability. Mas shows that you don't have to spend thousands on a custom firearm in order to achieve this. Most firearms shown are off-the-shelf items from your local gun shop with only tritium sights or laser grips added for night use. He only recommends those which work, and which he has used.

Once you have picked out a firearm, you'll need a holster. Mas goes through them by type, including strong side hip, inside waist band, cross draw, shoulder, pocket, and ankle holsters, among others. He goes through the advantages and disadvantages of each, and explains situations where one choice might be better than another. Just like with the firearms, Mas tells the reader which holsters he has used and which work for him. By virtue of having taught thousands of people over the years, Mas also explains what works for different body types that do not necessarily work for him. Many instructors fall into the trap of "what works for me must work for you too." Not Mas. He freely acknowledges that his style of carry may not work for women, large males, those who spend lots of time seated, etc. The holster chapters are extensive and well written. They also allow the readers to obtain information as to what will work best for them. I would advise anyone considering purchasing a "one size fits all" type nylon holster at a gun show to put that same money into this book and learn what works and what doesn't.

Once Mas has the reader squared away as to attitude, hardware, and holsters, he then moves on to the final two topics: clothing and practice. Those who carry learn how to dress around the firearm so as to keep it out of sight in public. Most people do not want to see non law enforcement officers carrying firearms openly in most states. Some hard headed gunnies refuse to acknowledge this. Mas explains the harm that can result from ignoring this fact. He has a whole chapter on clothing choices specifically designed to keep self defense firearms concealed. When you carry firearms for self defense, eventually you learn to dress around the gun. This book will jump start the process.

Most people who carry firearms for self defense will take only one training class, usually the one to get the license, if even that. Mas explains the perils which can befall someone who chooses to carry only some of the time, or not practice the skills needed to draw and reholster a firearm in a self defense situation. He is a big proponent of competition in order to help develop those skills, including IPSC/USPSA, NRA Action Pistol (Bianchi Cup), and especially IDPA matches. The irony of the situation is that those who carry on a daily basis, train with professional instructors, and regularly compete with firearms become less likely to need those skills the better they get.

I rank this book as a "must read" along with In The Gravest Extreme, by the same author. For about the same cost as a box of premium self defense ammunition (useful) or a gun show special holster (not useful), get this book and read it cover to cover. It answers lots of questions about concealed carry and is the next best thing to actually taking a class from Massad Ayoob.'

Car Fm Transmitter

I have had many FM Wireless Transmitters over the years. This is the least expensive device and has the most features.

Some people reported that they receive it without any instructions. Additionally, I've had fuse problems with two units and have since switched to a different FM Transmitter.

If after reading this review, it helps you to either purchase this product or pass it up, I hope you'll click the YES button at the bottom of this review (this way, the review can be found by buyers trying to choose between FM Wireless Tramsmitters ... Thank you!)

IMPORTANT: Turn the volume level on the wireless FM Transmitter to medium to medium/high! I set mine on 12 (out of 15). This affects the quality of the FM transmission from the FM Wireless Transmitter to your car's stereo. Reviewers who have complained about poor quality of audio or static probably did not do this!

Additionally, if you are connecting your MP3 player (instead of SD memory card, MMC, or USB drive) you MUST turn the volume of the MP3 player up to a medium-high volume level.

WHAT TO EXPECT: The FM Wireless Transmitter is very light weight and fits loosely in the car's power adapter. When compared to other typical power adapter devices (i.e. Mobile Phone Charger), this may give you the impression of low quality.

To turn the device off, unplug it.

It is a one trick pony, that is you can not dynamically switch between SD memory card and MP3 player (or USB device). To switch between devices you will need to unplug, remove an existing device and put in another. The 1/8 inch Jack and cable for MP3 players cuts out SD memory card or USB devices. You must remove the cable to switch. (What do you expect for [...]).

An important product feature of this device is that it allows you to choose the FM frequency you would like to use to transmit to your radio. Additionally, this is the most powerful FM Transmitters that I have ever used. It easily overrides existing radio station if you choose. The signal strength of the transmission relates directly to the `VOLUME' setting (see above).

When you disconnect the FM Wireless Transmitter or shut off your car, the FM Wireless Transmitter's internal memory will store all the device setting including the last song played from a memory device. When you plug in the 1/8 mini plug cable (about 1 foot long with Male to Male plugs on both ends) to connect a MP3 Player, the attached memory cards or USB device will not be accessible. If you are using memory cards or USB drives when initially installing the device, leave the cable unplug.

The wireless remote control to the FM Wireless Transmitter works fine, but you do need to press hard enough so that within the button's switch electrical contact is made. Also, the remote is infra-red and needs to be in the line-of-site to the FM Wireless Transmitter. If the transmitter is hidden by a gearshift, or back of a seat, the remote control will not work.

PRODUCT DOCUMENTATION: The `user manual' is just a small slip of folded paper with multi-language instruction and a few inaccuracies. For example, the documentation referred to the label name/symbol of buttons on the FM Wireless Transmitter, but the physical device had different name/symbols. The product documentation referring to the remote control is accurate, and you can completely configure and control the transmitter via the remote control.

WHAT REALLY SUCKS: For what ever reason, you can blow the internal FUSE. I did replace the fuse on mine two times now in less than 2 weeks. Finally, I just gave up with it, just too lazy to replace the fuse. I think maybe that the volume level may be part of the problem and that the volume level needs to be turned down before turning off your car so that the device will not draw too much power when the car is started.

NOTE: Two spare fuses are included in the product packaging.

EASY FUSE REPLACEMENT: Unscrew the tip of plug by gripping the base of the plug firmly and the small black plastic tip at the very end (very little black plastic on the tip to take a hold of and farther to the end than the metal ring), be careful when doing this or you will drop the FUSE and loose the cap that goes over the FUSE. Once apart, it's a no-brainer to swap out the FUSE.

RECOMMENDATIONS: Buy a Micro SD memory card with an SD adapter (that accepts the micro SD card). I bought mine on Amazon from ChiTek (Amazon Vendor) for [...] and [...] shipping. The Micro SD card was 2 GB from SanDisk. The Micro SD Card slides into the SD adapter so that it is compatible with the FM Wireless Transmitter card slot. I suggest getting the Micro SD memory instead of SD memory because it will be more versatile in the near future (phones, camera's)...etc. Additionally, you if do not have a Micro SD or Mini SD card reader on your computer, you can get one from Amazon. NOTE: I have read from comments on this product that this device will not work with memory larger than 2 GB.

If you are looking for a memory card on Amazon to go with the FM Wireless Transmitter use the keyword `BULK' in your search. For an exact search for the memory product I used copy and paste = "SanDisk 2GB MicroSD/TransFlash Card w/SD Adapter". SD/MMC/USB/MP3 Wireless In Car FM Transmitter with Remote (Black)

I bought this last month. I am very satisfied with this FM transmitter. Works great for me.

Today I figured that this also has shuffle repeat or all repeat functionality as well. If you press and hold the play/pause button (on the device and not the remote) for few seconds then it will toggle between "shuffle repeat" mode and "repeat all" mode. On LCD display you will see "<repeat arrow>A" for repeat all mode and "<repeat arrow>S") for shuffle mode.

Also if you press and hold on next button for few seconds then it will increase the volume.

Hope this helps. I would definitely recommend this.'

Replacement Parts

This faucet looks beautiful in our remodeled bathroom - very sleek. It seems very good quality and the handles have a great feel when turned. Installation of the drain assembly was challenging, though. And we didn't realize the under-the-counter part of the faucet was not included when we order the faucet trim kit (above-the-counter). So we had to wait a few more days to order that (most people probably already know this!). But we really like everything about the faucet now that it is installed. Moen T6420BN Eva Two-Handle High Arc Bathroom Faucet without Valve, Brushed Nickel

THis is a beautiful faucet that I bought for our recent bathroom remodel. I have all Moen faucets and found them to be very good. I checked several web sites and Amazon had the best price. One word of warning however, you may need to buy the rough valves in ordet to install them. Check with your plumber if you need the rough valves, because they are not included and have to be bought separately.'

Pixar - blu-ray 3d, pixar

I had a very unusual experience seeing this movie in theaters.

I watched it, I had a great time, I laughed, cheered, was thrilled, and the moment the credits started to roll the people in the row behind me IMMEDIATELY started spouting off how much they HATED it. I was flabbergasted. I was sorely tempted to turn around and ask them if we even just saw the same movie? How could anyone hate something that's so much FUN?!

But after thinking about it, I could see actually why they didn't get into it. Cars 2 is the first Pixar movie where you really have to 'get the joke' of the premise, or the whole thing falls apart like a house of cards. What this movie is, is the best James Bond movie of the last 15 years (not counting Casino Royale which transcends Bond movies to be just a great spy movie), with a bit of The Accidental Spy thrown in.

I LOVE Bond movies. The crazy opening sequences, the insane gadgets, the quippy lines. And Cars 2 hit pitch perfect parodies of every Bond standard. But you could never say of any Bond movie that it's got a deep emotional core, that's not how they're made. They're made to be balls to the wall fun and thrills, and that's what this movie is. Which of course makes it the polar opposite of the original Cars. It could hardly be more different.

If you get the joke, that this is a James Bond movie with cars, it's a riot. Loads of fun. It's not deep, it's not going to tug at your heart strings, it will not make your mother cry three or four times (as virtually ever Pixar movie ever made prior has done to my mother, I take her to Pixar movies with a bucket). It's just riotous fun. And I'm amazed that people are punishing Pixar for making a movie that's just pure fun. Granted Pixar is famous for it's deep emotional stories, and I suppose people expect that sort of thing every time. Even if you make a fun and entertaining movie, if you don't do what people expect, they bite your head off for it.

I went in with few expectations cause the early reviews bashed it to pieces, and I was frankly not that big a fan of the original movie. In the first Cars McQueen spends an enormous amount of the movie whining, and I found him generally unlikeable until fully halfway through the movie. It was a good movie, with a lot of heart and a message, but not one I would describe as a lot of FUN. Mater especially, a little of him went a long way in the first movie, and I was really worried about him being the star of this movie, because if a little of him annoyed me in the first movie, this one has 10 times more of him.

And yet, he actually annoyed me LESS this time around, cause he had something to do instead of just hanging around being Mater. They struck a perfect balance in his 'mater-ness' where the Accidental Spy nature of his story is charming instead of just annoying. And even more to my amazement, Mater's unique perspective DOES actually help solve the mystery. He's not just a bumbling idiot gumming up the works, he does actually help.

I was also constantly amused at the imagination that went into Cars-ifying the world. Even little touches like the swanky party in Towkyo (not a typo! ha!), the elevators are giant pistons that come out of the floor. I didn't expect it at all but once I saw it was it was so perfect.

To sum up, I have to say, I enjoyed this movie MORE than the original Cars. Yet at the same time I'll fully agree that the original is a technically superior film in writing and character, but Cars 2 is way more fun. If you go into this with the right attitude, that you're seeing a James Bond movie with Cars, that it's meant to be pure fun and embrace it on that level, there's a lot to love.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is it IS shallow. I won't say it's a perfect film on every level cause it's not. But it doesn't deserve the hate it's getting, it's just a fun movie, and there's nothing wrong with that. If it doesn't quite transcend to the levels of brilliance of The Incredibles or Wall:E, that doesn't make it BAD, it suffers only in comparison to other Pixar work, compared to anything else, it rocks. :) Cars 2 (Five-Disc Combo: Blu-ray 3D / Blu-ray / DVD / Digital Copy)

My son is 2 1/2 years old and loved both Cars and Cars 2. The naysayers, while entitled to their opinions, should probably have gone to the movies with a more light-hearted attitude. While my son did get up halfway through for a potty break, he thoroughly enjoyed this movie to the point that he has seen it four times. Granted, I would not have paid for him to see it four times, as I had movie passes from Toys 'R Us, but I definitely would have paid to take him more than once.

I agree with some of the warnings -- the crushing or exploding of some "good guys" and the lack of character development (I would have liked to know a little more about the other race cars that every toy store is selling in abundance). I do not agree, however, with those individuals who said it was boring or a flop. It is a spoof of Bond movies, with a perspective that kids can enjoy. I would recommend giving it a chance, especially if you have a child that loves all Disney films like my child.

This movie has almost no relation to the first Cars movie except a few cars and Mater. The mood is entirely different and any child 6 or under will be scared out of their wits. It features race after race, shoot 'em ups and explosions over and over and over.

The tribute to Paul Newman's car was a nice touch. The moral of the story was good, but it took way too long to get to it. I thought the movie would never end. It reminded me of adult action movies, which some will love, but not young kids for sure. Parents were taking their kids out of the theatre within 1/2 hour. Our theatre has a particularly loud sound system, which added to the trauma I'm sure. - Blu-ray 3d - Pixar - Blu-ray'

Conference Name Badges - badge holders, holders

We made name tags for a high school reunion using the team mascot and a simple border. The card stock is good quality so the final results were great, however, we could not figure out how to save the template so it took a lot longer to develop the final product than it should have. We received lots of compliments on the name tags and some requests to share the template. Avery could really capture customers if they enabled customers to save the template on their computers. Binder Index Dividers

I just purchased a couple more packs of these yet again for my summer classes, and I have to say, the quality is exactly as it's always been - phenomenal. I'm currently a college senior, and these pocket dividers are my top must-have item for every class I take, right behind my livescribe notebooks. They make organization incredibly easy and simple, I'm never scrambling to find my syllabus or my labs or any other charts or diagrams I need. It's always just right at my fingertips. Whether you're in high school or college or beyond, you will not be sorry purchasing these! I wish I had been able to find them in high school, they are INFINITELY better than the standard paper dividers with the color tabs. I love Avery products, they definitely represent a brand of quality when it comes to office supplies, but hands down these are one of my favorite. Thanks Amazon for supplying a great product! I will be back again for the fall semester! Avery Big Tab Two-Pocket Insertable Plastic Dividers, 8-Tab Set, 1 Set (11907)

I bought these for my work binder (I'm in customer service and have very strict standards on the info I give out to customers). I love that the plastic will not break around the holes. These last a LONG time, very well-made. I also like the pockets- assignments due in front, assignments finished in back. Only caveat on the divider are the small, dark label tabs. Even so, my co-workers stare enviously at my well-organized binder as they beg me to find information they can't locate themselves. This makes my life a lot easier and makes me look like a pro at my job, so I'm happy.

I have previously purchased Avery's Big Tab 8-tab dividers and thought that I'd purchase another set. I feel like the my older ones were made of a better quality. Also, these lacked the many holes for the different types of binders that the older ones had.

I recently started couponing on a large scale and needed something to put my coupons in to keep them organized. I decieded to go was a binder and these inserts for the smaller coupons. They have so far worked out perfectly for me.

The delivery was quick (standard shipping) and the charge was exactly as I ordered.

The quality of the product is good enough for me frequently sliding fingers in to get coupons in and our of the openings. And I am yet to have one fail...

I bought this for my school binder which I use for a few subjects. Now normally I would stick all my papers into the side pockets of the binder or just place them in the binder without using the rings -- I'm just too lazy to punch holes in the papers and put them in the rings. All my papers from all my classes would be mixed together into one pile in the binder. No need to say how difficult and time-consuming it was to find something.

With these dividers, I am able to use a couple of dividers for each subject, and place recent assignments in one divider and important and often-used papers in the other -- all without punching holes in the papers! These dividers are MUCH more durable than paper dividers and are of great quality. The dividers stay clean while paper dividers would pick up pencil marks from the papers, although the plastic on these attracts a bit of dust and starts to dull in spots after a while due to contact with other objects.

While the "big tabs" are good if you write a lot on the labels, they stick out even when the binder is closed, at least with binders with rings attached to the back instead of the spine. I wish the pockets could hold more paper, but I realize the limitations of a product that is supposed to be a thin divider -- maybe make expanding pockets??? Of course this may not be a problem to others as they will have other uses for the pockets that won't require a large capacity.

Overall, this is a great product that has helped me keep my papers organized. Since my first purchase, I had bought a few more sets for use in other binders and so I can use multiple sets in one binder for more storage. This product is a must-have for binders if you need to keep unpunched papers in check and stay organized.

As far as dividers go there isn't too much in the way of excitement. However this is a great product. I have purchased these for work as well as my children who are in high school. I find that they not only divide your papers but also give you a pocket to put your "extras" into. Great for office needs, school papers, and coupons too for us avid couponers..

I bought these for the book at my workplace where we track reservations and van runs because the older ones we had were just getting too old to stay in the book. They were basic plastic sheets with holes in them and were of average construction.

I pretty much bought this I'll admit to fill out an order to get the Super Saver Shipping, but I'm glad I did. These are made of nice thick plastic which holds up very well, and the pockets are roomy enough to fit in printed maps and other items into the dividers. Avery was also nice enough to include a perforated template sheet of paper where you can put in each divider name into a Microsoft Word template, print it out and have cleanly-typed names rather than having to struggle to write a tiny label.

Very good product and stands up to abuse, definitely buy this if you're looking for a good tab divider for a notebook or any other kind of project.'
