Mobile Scanner - document scanner, scanner
I decided to go fully digital with my receipts, leases, statements, etc. I initially bought a Fujitsu ScanSnap, which took me 30 minutes to realize it simply wasn't working (DOA I suppose). I then discovered Doxie, which costs a third of the ScanSnap, plus it's lighter, smaller, portable, and much more pleasant to look at while it sits on my desk.
Their software is a little funky, with the hearts and all, but it's also very lightweight and effective software. It hooks into many great applications and web services, and the company seems to be adding more every few months. If you use Evernote for your personal information control, then Doxie is great.
Overall, if you want to digitize your documents, this thing kicks ass. It's fast and small and very pretty. Doxie, the amazing scanner for documents
I got a Doxie because it's so portable.
It powers entirely though the USB, so if you have a laptop you could basically use it anywhere. I used it once in a hotel once, and once in my university library, both for sending documentation that needed to be rushed. But mostly I scan receipts and goofy stuff like forms from my insurance company.
It's been reliable, but the one time it was acting up, the support people were quick and efficient.
Easy set up and super simple to use. Works perfectly with our Mac network. Great scanner for personal use. We are scanning the mountain of paperwork everyone keeps because they think they might need it someday, and shredding the hard copies. It's safer not having those account numbers lying around and much easier to actually find what you are looking for when you scan and file with the Doxie.
I love this scanner! It was a breeze to set up and has been so easy to use that my two year old has been 'helping' me scan in his preschool papers! It's been working perfectly for me. I've had no trouble with the automatic paper feed and I've scanned in about 50+ pages so far today and it's been working like a dream. I liked the fact that it didn't come with software or a seperate storage/organization system for the uploads since the whole reason for me getting a document scanner was to be able to pare-down and de-clutter! I've been quickly and easily uploading to Google Docs and Evernote; that way I'll always have access to these precious papers wherever I am but they won't be taking up valuable storage space in my house. Great product!
Clients were beginning to complain about the quality of our faxes so I needed a scanning solution--fast. Given that I already have a laptop, printer, copier, fax machine, phone and all the other kinds of stuff you jam into your space I wanted something that wouldn't take up much room.
Enter the Doxie. It's like the size of a ruler. And you just plug into your puder so no need to find yet another outlet (my power cords are full up already.)
It took me about four seconds to get going--it's like an Apple product in terms of how easy they make it. And the price is killer too.
I highly recommend this product!
Who knew I could love a peripheral like a scanner? Pas moi. After my printer-scanner bit the dust I bought several printer-scanner devices and returned each because the scanning software was a mess. I mostly use the scanner so I re-thought my shopping strategy and bought a Doxie because it was lightest. (I travel quite a bit so lightweight is important.) The software is easy to use. I scan once and rotate the output image (click the -o- icon in the upper right corner) to neaten it up so I don't worry about crooked output. The images are always excellent.
This scanner is great, easy to use and scans photos with great resolution. It's great to bring to work instead of fighting over the main scanner. The logo and pink make it seem feminine but get over it, its a scanner, and a damn good one, especially for Mac. It can send photos directly to Ilife. Great product.
This is a great little scanner. It's tiny, which I appreciate. I don't have a desk, and since it's tiny it's that much easier to store and to set up on my living room side table. I love that it's USB powered, as that means there's just the one cord. It seems to me it's much faster to scan multi-page documents than on my old flatbed scanner, and the quality is great. Every once in a while the feeder won't quite grab onto something, but usually within a couple of tries it'll get the page, and then sucks it right through. This is extremely portable so if you need to travel with a document scanner, this might be the one for you.
As I was getting this scanner set up and installing the software, I had a feeling I was really going to like it. Unfortunately, a problem showed up from from the first scan. Although the paper fed in smoothly and went through straight, the image was askew or tilted. I tried it with different copies and using different ways of holding the paper as I fed it in, but the problem was consistent. Every scan was out of line to the right by a few degrees.
I emailed tech support about the problem and was basically told I wasn't feeding the paper in straight (I was, as I had explained.) Also, I tried looking around on the company's support discussion board, but didn't find a solution. I did see a few other mentions of problems of this sort, so it may be an issue with either the scanner or the software.
I ended up having to return it to Amazon for a refund. It's too bad because it otherwise seems to be a nice little scanner that I would have enjoyed using. I especially liked the software--it seems well designed and very user-friendly and straightforward.
So I'm going to try a Fugitsu Scansnap S1100--still have my 2 inch high stack of tax documents sittting here on my desk waiting to be scanned. :-/
I already owned a flatbed scanner, but it is such a hassle to scan, edit, and save. Doxie is clearly directed to a female population, which I don't mind, and is ridiculously easy to use. One button is all you need. Editing and saving is also effortless, and you can send your documents straight to programs like Evernote. I use it for everything from tax documents, receipts, and medical records to magazine articles and recipes. - Mobile Scanner - Portable Scanner - Scanner - Document Scanner'

Pendant Necklace
I bought this item for my girlfriend and she Loved it! It's not cheap, but its not over the top Either. Its a good gift just to make her feel nice. The chain is nice and smooth. Fast Shipping! and good packaging. 2 Thumbs UP!!! Sterling Silver "You Hold My Heart Forever" Heart Pendant, 18"
i bought this as a mothers day gift for my mother and she LOVED it. its a very nice size, very shiny and the writing isnt too bold or big so if you arent really looking you cant really see it, which my mother loves. its not a regular shaped heart which gives it personality if that makes sense, and i love the little tail at the end of the necklace. it falls right about your breast line. perfect chain, doesnt get tangled or knotted. great product for a great price.
I purchased this for my wifes 26th birthday. She loved it! The pendant is a nice size and weight, but the chain in pretty flimsy and needs a heavier gauge. Also the 18" is a little short, a 22-24" would hang better. All in all I'd say it was a good choice for a b-day present.
I bought this necklace it's very cute and light the chain is very thin hopefully it holds tough i bought this for my ex girlfriend we broke up but i want to make something nice to her anyway hopefully she gonna like it but it looks very beautiful.
This item appears to be smaller than it actually is. Be sure to look at the measurements of it. The heart is quite large and does not meet my personal taste. However, that is only my opinion, but for me, it is tooooooo big. It looks bulky when worn.'

Playstation 3 - keyboard
It is what it is. It's a USB keyboard that you can plug into your PS3 to be able to type instead of using the clumsy SIXAXIS controller to do it. It's a time saver and a great relief on the wrist. Also, it's a must if you want to put YDL on your PS3.
My only gripe is that the NUMLOCK key doesn't stay on. Once you powerdown the PS3, it doesn't keep powering the USB, so anything connected to them that does not have a battery will go, too. This means that the keyboard powers off completely, so when you go to type in numbers next time, you got to keep putting th numlock key on. I know, a small issue, I could use the numbers on the top, but I like the 10 key.
Is this the keyboard's fault though? Not really, it's in the design of the PS3, but Logitech KNEW that when they made this board, so they could have made the default for the NUM as "ON" instead of off when you power it up.
Other than that, it's exactly what you're going to need to type with ease on your PS3. Logitech Playstation 3 USB Keyboard
It helps in typing names in games and in the web browser, but still some "main" keys don't work, such as "Esc", "Pg Up"...
And you will feel the lack of a mouse, meaning you'll need to have the controller all time with you, even if you are just in the internet.
Pros:
-Durable
-Long cord (8 feet)
-You know it will work with your PS3
-Price
Cons:
-Plain design (but at least it's black)
-An included palm rest would have been nice
-No included instructions on what keys do what (check out the PS3 manual at the official PlayStation website for some internet browser keyboard shortcuts [Support->Manuals->PS3->System Software User's Guide])
Notes:
-You will still need to use a PS3 controller to use certain functions, as far as I can tell
-This might be obvious, but you can also use a USB mouse with PS3
I am very satisfied with this keyboard. The connection cord is long enough and the keys are a regular size. You do still need to use a PS3 controller to act like a mouse, just like on a desktop computer, but it's easy. The price was well worth it. I like to go on the internet and this keyboard makes it easy. Also, I use it to type information that is needed when I download CD's to my PS3. I highly recommend this product!
the key board is nice for PS Home for chating "or fighting with those every so many pricks" it is the size of a reg key board very smooth typing its better than the one im using right now on my pc to right this lol the only down side to this key board is that it has a wire it would be alot better if it was wireless but hey what can i say i only paid $12 for mine and it is way worth it
It works great for my PS3. I highly recommend getting it when you need to type to you're friends and don't feel like using you're six axis or dual shock 3 controller to type. I hope it can be more useful on the PS3 web browser in the near future. I hope Sony will release a new browser soon.
Well what can I say beyond the fact that this particular model of keyboard is useful in basic text chat upon the Playstation 3 and its Playstation Network? Though it's a bit bulky considering that one is transitioning from the six axis / dualshock 3 controller to a PC worthy keyboard and something to get used to, but once it is done, one will be glad that you no longer have to use the time consuming controller-based text board. - Keyboard'

The Samsung UN46D6000 is an excellent led HDTV set that is the best value priced alternative to a 3D model. In fact, the outstanding picture clarity and color of this LED set almost seems 3D at times and these are its most striking features. Other pluses are the light weight, thin profile and elegant overall design along with low power usage. Although, I would suggest that individual sound control features for bass, treble and balance would be a definite improvement. Samsung UN46D6000 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz LED HDTV (Black)
Purchased two weeks ago and all I can say is wow! The picture quality is super. It is almost too bright. I have adjusted the brightness and toned it down a bit. Colors are great also. Surprisingly, for a TV that is only 1.2 inches thick the sound quality is good. Might also be the positioning of mine, it is above the mantle so the speakers are projecting downward and bouncing off of it. Only thing I find a bit strange is the location of the input jacks. They are on the back right hand side of this set which is the opposite of how I had my wall plates set up. I have two setting suggestions. Turn off the Eco Sensor which adjusts the picture brightness to the ambient light in the room. For me it was dimming too much. For sports, leave the Auto Motion Plus on but for everything else turn it off. It gives a sort of 3D look to everything and is quite strange when watching movies. Other than that, you will be extremely happy with this set. Great purchase.
We've had our new Samsung HDTV for almost a month now and I still find my mouth dropping to the floor when I sit on the couch to watch tv. The picture clarity is beautiful. This is really my first "true" HDTV. Until now, we had a 32" Samsung and I recently learned that anything smaller than a 42" does not do HD justice. I believe that to be true.
The 46" is just the right size for our living room. I read some reviews regarding the "soap opera effect" and I have to say that I kind of like it. It makes the people look as if they are really standing just a few feet away from me. This tv is internet-ready and features Samsung's Smart Hub. At first I had some problems with this feature actually working. It can be rather slow at times. However, I moved my router around a bit and it connects to my wireless connection just fine now. Netflix streams perfectly too! I haven't tried any of the social apps yet.
I am VERY pleased with my purchase and the delivery went well too (I usually have problems with the company Amazon chooses to use for these kinds of deliveries). The guy came in and unpacked the box to make sure the tv worked as promised.
NOTE: Amazon.com claims you can stream some of their movies and tv shows too with this device but unfortunately, they do not give any directions how to do this on the newer Samsung devices. Anyone have a clue how to streams movies from Amazon.com? Hopefully, they fix this soon or at least create an app for amazon.
The picture on this tv is amazing. Color is great, image is vibrant and clear. Seriously, well-done Samsung.
The problem is that the local dimming is over-active. When you view an image that's MOSTLY black but with something small on the screen - let's say the bumps on Adult Swim, or the intro to a movie where it just shows the title on a black screen - the tv detects the dark image and reduces the back-lighting. The problem is that if there is still something relatively small on the screen, the lighting may get too dim and you can't see it. The biggest issue, of course, is that you simply CAN'T TURN IT OFF.
I spent literally two days tinkering with every setting, searching for the right mode or combination of settings that would disable the local dimming, but it just isn't there. There is no option to disable the local dimming directly - it's factored in to the general picture settings like "movie mode", "game mode", etc. You can make adjustments that lessen the local dimming effect (it's called Shadow Detail, I think), but even while reduced the problem is still there: this tv does not properly recognize when the lighting should and should not be reduced.
If not for this one flaw this tv would be absolutely perfect. Maybe some wouldn't care or notice, but it drove me seriously bonkers.
I returned this TV and got a comparable LG model. The LG allows you to directly adjust the intensity of the local dimming feature and even turn it off completely - independent of all the other picture settings. But I found that it wasn't necessary to turn it off on the LG since it seems to perform much better. Plus, the LG was only $30 more and it has 3D (which this Samsung does not).
I have been researching for TVs for about 2 years or so and I was deciding to buy a Plasma or LCD, after such consideration since my main purpose for the tv was for my pc and also to upgrade from a 23'' Samsung monitor i've had for about a year. I was really leaning in for a LCD since I was warned about Plasmas "Image Burn" since I am using it for a computer monitor, the desktop screen would be displayed quite frequently and it would have been risky. I saw a similar LCD model for around $800 bucks but just when i was about to check out, amazon recommended this TV instead and I took the plunge and never looked back.
First of all, for the people who are interested in LED TVs, they are almost the same as LCDs except for a brighter picture and clear quality and about the backlight thing, not really a big difference. I lowered the setting from 2-10 depending the light in my room. The motion picture plus and the 120hz really make internet streaming videos, such as Youtube, Netflix, and Hulu, almost all HD quality (If available, ofcourse). Some of the videos look better from other sources such as my PC and some look better on the Smart TV feature. (For example, netflix is better off my xbox but Hulu Plus looks awesome straight from the Smart Tv App)
Second, the Smart TV feature is a plus in so many ways! I also have to mention, I do not have a cable subscription (for good reason, too! $$$) with Hulu and Netflix apps at your finger tips, you will never have to pay more for cable or movie rentals again. I already had a Netflix account so I knew this TV was worth it but the other Apps they offer are useless, dont get me started on the Youtube app, the navigation is so dreadful.
Third, I really like the easy access input plugs for your hdmi and other plugs. Also, by clicking the Info button on your remote, you can see how much power your tv is using. I was worried at first for having a big screen tv and sucking in so much power but sure enough my electric bill hasnt gone up and my tv never overheats after using it on a 6 -10 hour basis.
The cons?
The only main problem with this LED TV is the darn SETTINGS!
Samsung's default settings are the worst and it for about a week or 2, I had to tweak the settings almost every time i was watching a youtube or hulu video (Actual Website, not the Smart TV apps). I do recommend looking up settings for the TV to save you time. I suggest looking for last years models and finding those settings since they are almost the same. Now that the settings are right, I havent touch menu button eversince.
I do have to say that, the "Soap Opera Effect" is really nice and you can turn it off if you dont like it. I turn it on for movies and off for games
I was told to wait till I've watched 100 hours worth of viewing time till I really notice the difference when I first turned it on. The judder will disappear after awhile, the TV just needs to be "broken-in" and you shouldn't have a problem after that. I know i haven't! - Panasonic'

I admit it... I'm addicted to black, the color that is. So after searching high and low for plain black hanging file folders to suit my style I have to admit I was surprised that the big box office supplies stores don't carry them! Honestly... I can't figure out why they don't. The regular green ones make me wanna barf and the fruity colored ones give me a headache. I have A.D.D. and my brain gets very distracted with colors. Unless there is order to it. For me... I'd rather have one color and be done with it. Black goes with every decor and my male clients really prefer them! My boyfriend really liked them too! Misty Crick Pendaflex Hanging Folder, Black, 1/5 Tab, Letter, 25 Box, 4152 1/5 BLA
As I've only used them for a short time, I can not comment on durability, but I will comment on the initial. It seems like any other hanging folder. Nothing too special about it. Although it is not as Jet black as I imagined it would be. It's more of a dull/cardboard black type color. Not really as pictured. But not bad.
I ordered these folders specifically because I specifically needed 'black' folders. Needless to say, when they arrived and were BRIGHT orange, I was a bit disappointed. I decided to keep the orange to avoid the hassle of a visit to the post office, paying return shipping, and waiting for the CORRECT product to arrive. Perhaps I will just buy a few Sharpie markers to color over the orange.
Overall, the product is great -- if it arrives in the correct color. - File Folder - Folder Accessories - File Box - File Folders'

Shakespeare On Film - kenneth branagh, britain
This is a sweeping statement, but true nonetheless: I believe that Kenneth Branagh's HENRY V is the greatest screen adaption ever done of Shakespeare. Period. Better than Olivier (although he was great in a very diferent way). Better than any version of Hamlet (even Branagh's, which is the best of the Hamlets). Better than anything else. Why do I say this? Simply because no other film adaptation of Shakespeare has captured the essence of what the Bard was trying to say while adding a modern perspective in the process, all in a manner that is readily accessible to a mass audience. Yet that is precisely what this film does. By sheer genius, Branagh was able to present HENRY V in all of its nationalistic glory, just as Shakespeare wrote it, while at the same time adding an anti-war footnote that serves both as counterpoint and commentary on the Bard's message. The contrast betwen the St. Crispin's Day speech as presented here (in which we are made to feel the real power behind Shakespeare's words) and the gritty, realistic presentation of the battle itself which follows is proof of my assertion. It's all here: Lessons on history, loyalty, and the qualities of leadership, all wrapped in a fiercely entertaining package. Branagh's great accomplishment is to bring the piece to life without the slightest bit of stuffiness or anachronism, and even to add his own touch to an unapproachable masterpiece. This, his first film, remains his crowning achievement. I think the Bard would approve. Henry V
This may be the best Shakespeare film ever made. In 1942, Laurence Olivier delivered a jingoistic, stylized wartime production of "Henry V" that nonetheless stood as the standard interpretation. Nearly fifty years later, Kenneth Branagh's film appeared not only as a powerful and amazingly accessible recasting of the text, but a serious examination of the nature and the costs of the war that was Henry the Fifth's only real achievement. Although studded with a fine array of subsidiary characters, "Henry V" is essentially a one-man play, and Branagh's performance informs and naturally influences all of the rest. His character has most of the lines, and he delivers them with a refreshing naturalism and candor that re-infuses the humor into the funny bits and cuts a lot of the potential for stilted jingoism out of the patriotic and warlike ones. If the real Henry's delivery of the St. Crispin speech was anything like Branagh's, it's no wonder the English won. Slogging through the mud and rain of Harfleur and Agincourt with Branagh is a masterful supporting cast, including the incomparable Judi Dench as Mistress Quickly, Brian Blessed as a marvelously solid Exeter, and Ian Holm, wonderful as the irreverent and sarcastic Fluellen. On the French side, Paul Scofield's King is weary and indecisive rather than weak and mad; Michael Maloney's Dauphin is entertainingly arrogant, and Emma Thompson delivers a small but charming performance in playwright-broken English and much better French than Shakespeare likely spoke. Tying it all together is Christopher Ravenscroft, who invests the herald Mountjoy with a sympathy that extends to both sides, and a phenomenal showing by Derek Jacobi as the earnest, mocking and informative Chorus. "Henry V" was released and went to video before the heyday of production for DVD, and as such, a "deluxe edition" has not been produced- this disc contains no making-of documentaries, no in-depth interviews with the cast, no online screenplay. But at least in this case, that's all for the best. The film is stunning enough on its own to need no such accompaniment, and its magic is thereby undiminished.
I couldn't agree more with a reviewer below who suggested that high school English teachers would do well to put away the Shakespeare books and get their students to watch films like this. How can ninth graders possibly appreciate The Bard by poring over blocks of flowery text? Shakespeare needs to be seen, performed by actors who understand the cadence and meaning of the language, in order to be appreciated. Like most other people, I was forced to read plays like "Julius Caesar" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in high school, and I just DIDN'T GET IT at the time. It was only until I was an adult and saw Kenneth Branagh's adaptation of "Henry V" that I realized what a genius William Shakespeare really was. For some odd reason videotape copies of this excellent film have been virtually impossible to find in recent years, so imagine my delight when I found out it soon to be re-released on DVD. I was quick to place my advance order, for "Henry V" is one of those rare films that one can watch repeatedly and appreciate even more after each viewing. Older film adaptations of this play, such as the one featuring Laurence Olivier in the title role, seem to pale in comparison, if only because of the gritty realism Branagh brings. King Henry's threats outside the gates of Harfleur border on horrific, and his "Feast of St. Crispian" speech to his men before the battle of Agincourt is perhaps the most soul-stirring call to arms I have ever heard. In contrast is a funny and charming scene in which Henry attempts to win the heart of the French Princess Catherine (Emma Thompson). Yet for all the hard-fought and glorious victory Shakespeare presents, he concludes his play with a subtly-worded indictment of war and an afterword about how so much of what Henry conquered was lost in later years. This is one of my favorite movies. If you have never given that much thought to the works of William Shakespeare, watch this movie. I am confident you'll realize what a truly remarkable literary voice he was.
Branagh combines the best with the best. Shakespeare's brilliant writing is combined with Branagh's brilliant directing, and cinematography; and Doyle's superb music is combined with the superb acting of Derek Jacobi, Kenneth Branagh, Brian Blessed, Paul Scofield, and Christoher Ravenscroft to make this history come alive on the screen. If you don't know the play, this production will introduce you to one of the most inspiring of Shakespeare's histories, Henry V. It is a story of a warrior king, who initially appears to be manipulated by 2 clergy (Canterbury and Ely) into asserting England's claim on France. As the story unfolds, it becomes uncertain as to who has manipulated whom. Perhaps, Henry, the pious king, needs the blessing of the church; perhaps, Henry, the clever king needs the financial backing of the church; perhaps Henry, the politician, needs a scapegoat if things don't go well. He hardly seems weak, manipulated, and reluctant as he delivers the Stint Crispin's day speech.before the battle of Agincourt. His 12,000 men are outnumbered 5 to one; they are tired, and face fresh French troops on the morrow and Shakespeare has King Hal say."We few, we happy few, we band of brothers For he today that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile This day shall gentle his condition And gentlemen in England, now abed Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here And hold their manhoods cheap while any speaksThat fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day."The battle that ensues is as bloody and confusing as D-Day. No one is sure who has won the day until the herald, Montjoy, approaches King Henry to request a truce so that the French claim their 10,000 dead. The English have lost only 500. I think that Shakespeare is always about character. This is what can make us care about a long dead king whose triumphs did not extend beyond his reign. It can make us tune in a 20th century ear to a beautiful speech pattern that is long gone. And, when Shakespeare is brought together with the considerable talents of the film makers involved in this Henry V, it is genius in motion. - Britain - Kenneth Branagh - Shakespeare On Film - Shakespeare Cinema'

Office Supplies - office supplies, punches
I debated on different makes and models then chose this one thinking it would do the job. Well - I'm impressed - this is a very solid well made product that appears as though it will stand up to it's purpose for years to come. Cuts holes cleanly, no pounding to get it through several sheets - it justs cuts like a hot knife through warm butter - very pleased.
I recommend this make and model - you will like it. Steve Sparco SPR01796 Heavy-Duty Adjustable 9/32" 3-Hole Punch
For what I paid for this product, I have been pleasantly surprised. I was worried it would break immediately, given that comparable products were selling for at least four or five times as much. But it has worked really well for me (but I have only owned it for a few months). I would say I usually punch about 30 pages at a time. For that, it is a great product at a great price.
I was concerned that this might not be a well constructed piece of equipment due to it's modest price, but was I ever wrong! This is an excellent and well-made item that works perfectly and at it's price, you can't ask for more. I'd recommend it to anyone with no hesitation!
It is always nice to purchase a product that actually performs the task for which you purchased it for. It is also nice to purchase a product that has glowing reports from other reviewers and find that the enthusiastic endorsements have not been overly stated and that they are absolutely correct...no reviewer inflation here!
This punch is an absolute workhorse and is extremely well made. There are features to this particular punch that should be noted:
It can, as several have stated, handle stacks of at least 20 standard sheets of paper. It should also be noted that it can handle thicker paper, such as construction paper, light boards and plastic document protectors, cards and other material with ease.
It has a very nice tray at the bottom to catch the punched holes, but unlike many other models I have used, this one actually hold to the main body of the punch quite well and is not constantly falling off, creating a horrid mess. It is easy to remove and empty and is a snap to place back on the punch.
This item is heavy when compared to other punches. This may cause difficulties for some, but for my money, this is a big plus as it is not constantly sliding all over the place.
The machine is preset right out of the box, but adjusting measurements for the holes is an easy chore.
There is little or no maintenance (Other than emptying the tray when needed from time to time).
The action is easy and actually requires very little force. The cuts in the paper are extremely clean and extremely precise.
It should be noted that you can buy three hole punches much cheaper; I unfortunately have done just that on a couple of occasions in the past. This, for me, was "penny wise, a pound foolish." I could have actually saved quite a bit of money simply for forking out a few more bucks for this thing to begin with rather than having to continually replace these things.
This is a well built machine which should last me the rest of my life-time. I use it for various hobbies as well as my work.
Don Blankenship

Purchased this as a replacement for a similar product that had broken return springs for the punches. This is stamped metal rather than cast, however, it functions very well - is very easy to adjust and use. It was half the price of the previous punch and should last at least as long. Excellent product for the price.
After struggling for quite some time with a 3-hole punch that wouldn't work and ended up having no bottom to catch the shards, I gave in and purchased this punch. I absolutely love how strong it is, the increased number of pages I can punch at a time, and how easy it is to press down because of the wider top.
Everything that was wrong with the previous punch is now right with this one. It probably sounds kind of weird to be this excited about a three-hole punch, but in my line of work I download and print a lot of material to keep in various three-ring binders. Therefore, I need something strong and easy to use that I can keep near my desk. This is the one!
A three hole punch is a necessity in any home or office setting and this was one of the first office instruments I got. It still works great. I can attest that it works great and has lasted a long time. It's well built and after all these years still punch holes without any problem. There is no squeaking unlike a cheaper hole punch I had bought. I just works great and the price is a killer! Get this one for sure! - Punches - 3 Hole Punch - Paper Punch - Office Supplies'

Fathers Day - cordless tools, drill
This drill is a champ, I had an old stick type 9.6v Makita that served me well for 8 years. When I finally lost the last battery I decided to buy a new drill. I never really wanted more power than the 9.6v Makita delivered so I didn't see the point in getting a huge cordless drill. This drill is light, incredibly comfortable, all the power I need in a cordless and for $80 with a flashlight and a rebate for a third battery it was a no brainer. Hitachi DS12DVF3 12-Volt Ni-Cad 3/8-Inch Cordless Drill/Driver Kit
Although the batteries do not seem to last very between charges, there are two of them in the kit along with a quick charger. The specified torque is impressive, but I think that it may be slightly exaggerated. The ergonomics, weight, and overall dimensions are nearly ideal. The box and Hitachi website indicate a 5-year warranty, but the warranty card itself indicates only a one-year warranty. The chuck is pretty cheap, and the trigger doesn't seem very well-made. The design of the carrying case leaves a lot to be desired. All in all, after about 6 weeks, it appears to be a good drill for light to moderate homeowner duty. The quality of the drill is probably a cut above other drills available in the $99 price range, but it is certainly not worth the $150 that Lowes now charges. If you are willing to spend $140-$150, you will probably be able to get a Makita mForce or Bosch Compact Tough 14.4V-18V model and be much happier.
This drill is remarkedly comfortable to use. It is smaller and more powerful that an older DeWalt 9.6 volt drill I have. The major draw back is the battery charging system. With the DeWalt you put a battery in the charger and leave it until you need it. Not with the Hitachi. It says to take it out when charged. Therefore you got to watch it. Also, if you are using the drill alot and the battery gets low on power, it is also warm and the charger will not charge it until it cools off. Can't get the battery to charge until it cools off???? If you need to charge right away, you are out of luck.
I guess for the price, I can live with this flaw. But sure like the DeWalt charging system much better.
good torque, reasonable battery life for a medium duty drill, charges quickly. the compactness lets it get into spaces many drills won't reach. down side: cheap plastic housing, doesn't fit standard holster, attached belt clip won't hang securely on hammer loop. I dropped mine about six feet and the housing broke completely in two where the handle meets the head. No parts are available yet for this model, so I had to epoxy the housing. If you need a compact drill for the tight places this is a good buy at Lowe's for $99, just be very careful how you carry it. If you need one to use all day, this isn't it.
I have two of these drills now. The first was originally purchased for use at my lake home. I also had a Dewalt 14.4 that I lugged back and forth, just in case I needed to do anything heavier duty.
It turns out, this little drill can go head to head with that Dewalt, and now I much prefer it over the bigger and heavier Dewalt. (The Dewalt was 3 or 4 times more expensive originally as well).
What surprises me about the Hitachi is the torque it has. Its fortunate that it has such a good adjustable clutch because this little thing has the power to twist off screw heads if you're not careful. Amazing for such a light and handy drill.
The trigger has a great feel to it as well. One can feather it on and off to screw in something delicate and it responds exactly as you would expect. It doesn't keep spinning like the Dewalt tends to.
I ended up buying the second drill for home here, and leaving the Dewalt up at the cabin "just in case". The Hitachi is the first one I reach for now.
If Hitachi is listening, my only disappointment in this drill is the lack of two bit holders. The Dewalt gives me storage for a flat bit, a phillips and a square drive. With the Hitachi, I've had to leave the flat bit in the shop. Also, the bit holder that is there isn't very reliable. If you drop the drill, you better check the ground and make sure your second bit isn't laying there. But this isn't a show stopper.
Also, the magnetic bit holder included with the kit remains in the shop as well. If you use something like this primarily wandering around outside your shop (as I do up at the lake), you'll almost certainly want a quick change bit holder with a more positive action to it (Dewalt's are VERY good). If you rely on the Hitachi bit holder, you'll lose bits. The bit holder plus a bit is also way too long to feel like you can get any leverage with it.
I never use the flashlight, so can't really comment on it. I also don't use it all day every day, so can't really comment on battery life. It always seems to have enough juice when I need it. If not, the battery is quick to change, and doesn't "stick" like the Dewalt tends to do.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this drill. I think it is one of the best bargains for the price. I have a Hitachi reciprocating saw as well that I really like, and will give Hitachi a shot for my other tools as they wear out and need replacing.
I spent a lot of time researching a light-weight drill to use for my small duty tasks and projects. The Hitachi 12v fit the bill perfectly. I teach school and have my summers off. I've put a lot of time and money over the last four summers into an addition, a new kitchen, and a new bathroom that I've done most of by myself. I've been using my 18v Makita for everything and it has never failed, but I have always cursed the thing when working in tight quarters or above my head for long periods of time (ceiling fans and drywalling ceilings). I finally decided that a lighter drill was necessary and I debated over getting a big cordless screwdriver (Dewalt, Ridgid, Bosch "Pocket Driver")or a small drill. After comparing many brands, I found the Hitachi to be the most powerful drill for its' size and price: 230lbs torque and 3.5lbs in weight. It is also nice to have a chuck and not a hex head. At $80 it's hard to beat, and it comes with a flashlight. The Dewalt (80lb torque) and Ridgid (100lb torque) screwdrivers are the most powerful, but their weight is the same as the Hitachi 12v drill. The super-light Bosch was very tempting but I was afraid that it would be underpowered. I know that cordless screwdrivers and 12v drills are not the same, but seriously consider your needs and power requirements and you might just find as I did: this drill is the perfect tool to bridge cordless screwdrivers and drills (run-on sentence). - Cordless Drills - Drill - Cordless Tools - 12v'

John Wayne Collection - western, john wayne western
Many people know about John Wayne and John Ford's cavalry trilogy, three of the greatest westerns ever made, but another pairing between the two is not as well known. The Three Godfathers is a lesser-known John Wayne classic when he was at the top of his game. Starring Harry Carey Jr. and Pedro Armendariz as the other two godfathers this classic should not be missed. These three outlaws ride into the desert after a bungled robbery only to find a dying woman with a newborn infant. The Duke promises to care for the baby which she names Robert William Pedro Hightower after the three outlaws. They must then make the trek across the desert with very little supplies to get the baby to the next town. Excellent supporting cast with many recognizable faces from other Duke movies, with Ward Bond playing the sheriff who attempts to track down the outlaws. Truly funny scenes as Wayne, Armendariz, and Carey attempt to care for the baby. As usual awesome scenery as is expected in John Ford westerns. This is one classic that has to be put on DVD. A must have for John Wayne fans! 3 Godfathers
All the positive comments you read here about this film are true.
This classic western stars John Wayne, Pedro Armendariz and Harry Carey Jr, along with a great supporting cast lead by Ward Bond -- the usual John Ford suspects. Ford strikes a balance between action and sentimentality, directing this simple story in a straightforward fashion with a great sense of style. This is Ford's first color film and cinematography by Winton C. Hoch looks really, really rich and with enough sand to make you wish you had some lemonade.
Duke really shines in this film -- just watch those expressions.
Restored to its original pristine 1948 35mm real Technicolor glory, "3 Godfathers" is a natural for the Christmas season. This heartwarming drama is a gritty, tender, timeless classic. A film the whole family can watch.
This sleeper film in the WB/MGM catalog was way, W A Y overdue on DVD in the US. But here it is, most welcomed and highly recommended!
(I've revised my original 2003 review to reflect this title's availability on DVD. Released with zero fanfare, I was first aware of its release when I saw a newspaper ad for it one week before Christmas 2005.)
There are many reasons not to miss this beautiful 1948 film: It's exquisitely directed by John Ford, The cinematography by Winton C. Hoch is remarkable, John Wayne is looking and performing at his absolute best, and my personal reason for owning this video, the wonderful Pedro Armendariz, who is magnificent in it.It's a sentimental tale of 3 bandidos with hearts of gold, completeing a promise they made to a dying woman to take care of her baby, and it's so well written and lovingly made that it never gets corny. This is good old fashioned entertainment, and entertaining it is, as these heroic good/bad men are chased by the sheriff and his posse across the desert, with a Bible as their map. John Ford made many inspirational films, and this is one of my favorites.
This oft-filmed story is from a sentimental novel "The Three Godfathers" written by Peter B. Kyne. John Ford who had earlier made a silent version MARKED MEN (1919) with Harry Carey. Another remake THE THREE GODFATHERS (1936) was a highly acclaimed version directed by Richard Boleslawski. The 3 GODFATHERS (1948) reviewed here is noted for being Ford's first colour film and for its opening touching dedication to one of John Ford's early favourites: `To the memory of Harry Carey' - `Bright star of the early Western Sky.'
Three bank robbers Robert Marmaduke Hightower (John Wayne), Pedro `Pete' Roca Fuerte (Pedro Armendáriz) and William Kearney `The Abilene Kid' (Harry Carey Jr.) ride into the town of Welcome Arizona and rob the local bank on trying to make good their escape they hadn't reckoned on the tenacity of the marshal for the territory of Arizona Perley `Buck' Sweet (Ward Bond) and his deputy Curly (Hank Worden). Forming a posse they hop on a train, hoping to ambush the outlaws at Mojave Tanks. The three bad-men arrive just in time to see the train coming with the posse onboard. Waterless they decide to head north for Terrapin Tanks across a beautiful but hostile desert, hoping that the marshal would figure that they would head for the easier route to Apache Wells.
On arrival at Terrapin Tanks they discover that a greenhorn settler, has left his heavily pregnant wife in a covered wagon and had destroyed the Tanks with dynamite whilst trying to find water. The mother (Mildred Natwick) dies shortly after giving birth to a baby boy, but not before naming the boy Robert William Pedro Hightower after the outlaws and making them Godfathers to her newborn son and further promising to take him to the town of New Jerusalem. Having earlier lost their horses they struggle on, following a Biblical like Star across the desert on foot desperately trying to fulfil their promise to a dying woman. Closing in on the three godfathers is the ever-persistent Marshal Sweet. Will they or wont they make it to New Jerusalem with the newborn boy-child?
A great musical score by Richard Hageman with "The Streets of Laredo" filtering through as does once or twice a hint of the music from STAGECOACH (1939). Which is not surprising as Richard Hageman was responsible for that too! Nearly, if not all of the players here are Fords usual friends or favourites known affectionately as "Ford's Rolling Stock" many straight from Ford's previous film FORT APACHE (1948) all turning in good performances? Perhaps best of the lot was fittingly reserved for Harry Carey Jr. Perhaps it was one of Ford's little jokes or all that was available at the time but the baby boy in the film was obviously a girl (Amelia Yelda)!
Not one of John Ford's best Westerns judged by his own very high standards but never-the-less a very enjoyable one at anytime, but perhaps best of all during the Christmas period! This 2004 Warner Bros. DVD Release includes the Theatrical Trailer. - John Ford - John Wayne Western - Western - Classic Movie'

Plastic Folders - smead, file
I'm the kind of teacher who may lug a set of papers from school to home and back two times before they get corrected and graded, and needed a better way to keep them neat and organized- I love these because they have also saved several sets pristine even after an unfortunate incident involving a travel mug in my work bag. These are great! Inexpensive, transparent, colored, and sturdy. Now a staple. Smead 89501 Campus.org Poly Color Envelopes - 5 Pack, Assorted Colors
I liked them so much, I ordered a 2nd set. They do come in a 5 pack, in the variety of colors shown. They hold your standard letter sized papers, documents, etc...They do expand reasonably and are extremely functional. I wouldn't use them for everyday as much as I would for storing and organizing important papers (tax stuff, car stuff, etc..). I like that the poly material is of fair quality and transparent. And consider you get 5 for $3.50 with free shipping. That's not bad.
I purchased these on sale for storing insurance and other papers by calendar year. The string that is used to secure the flap is of good quality, I appreciate the see through aspect and variety of colors. Recommend.
These envelopes are great, except for one thing. The product description gives 2 inches as the expansion size, when it is actually 1 1/4 inches. Other than that, they are sturdy and useful for any number of things. They keep things clean and organized. Being transparent is a definite plus - you know exactly what each envelope contains without having to label them or open them and you can use the colors as a coding system.
i love these folders, very colorful, def a huge plus they are see through! however, this product got a four star from me because the material is flimsy, very thin feeling. i have been handling them delicately just in case they may rip, but otherwise very good and esp. for the price they're going for, it's worth it.
love the ease of these envelopes, also since they are in different colors I can sort my personal bills from important legal docs to company use etc. It can hold lot of documents/papers. The cost is very reasonable -- didn't find anything like this at staples or office depot.
Bought this as I have to carry different document for weeks in the backpack. These envelopes helps to keep my backpack organized.
Few months since I bought it, so far its working great. Good value for money at dollar 3.5.
Mar/2010: I will be ordering another set it is very useful.
These folders are absolutely perfect! Being self-employed, I have to keep track of all of the documents I can concerning taxes. These folders will hold an entire year's worth of financial documents with no problem, and since they're transparent, I can easily see what year the documents are from. Then when tax time comes along, there's no hunting for misplaced utility bills. I just hand a folder to the guy who does my taxes and everything is there in one nice, neat package.
The material these things are made out of is very thin plastic. They seem to be fairly sturdy, however, and not easily torn to bits.
This is a great buy if you want to stay organized.
I love these envelopes. They make it so much easier to keep things organized. I can get all related papers together and make related notes on a sheet of paper and put them all in the envelope. I can then read the notes through the envelope without having to remove everything else. I just love these and I'm getting myself more.
I needed something to qualify for free shipping and I knew I would need some of these envelopes in the near future. The price is unbeatable and the quality is very good. These are not flimsy and will not rip. Of course, I've seen better quality but at higher prices. For about eighty cents a folder, this is a great value. You can load these up with documents, letters, etc. and they will hold. I like how the colors are transparent so you can easily distinguish the contents.
Great buy, very happy. - Project Folders - Folders - Smead - File'

American Apparel - tall, newport news
I'm 5'3", wear approximately a size 4, and usually wear "small" sizes, and these leggings were overall a good fit (ordered size small). They are also high-waisted, which minimizes any muffin-top that might happen with a low-rise legging, but takes a little getting used to if you normally wear low-rise bottoms. For someone as short as me (I normally buy petite pants), these leggings bunched a little at the ankle, but not enough to warrant reducing the rating by a star. Besides, no one can tell with boots over them! American Apparel Cotton Spandex Jersey Legging Medium-black
Due to a pain disorder clothing can feel very rough to my skin. I love leggings but they can be hard to find in a fabric I can bear. These leggings are wonderful! They are well made and opaque to wear under skirts, but they are not too heavy that you get overheated. The waist has a nice/well-made band and the fabric is very soft. I am a "real" medium in clothing and these mediums fit very well. The waist comes to the waist, the crotch stays where it's supposed to be, and they end at the ankle. I love these and only wish that there were more colors! The shipping was fast too~early! I will definitely be buying more from this company!
Loving the American Apparel Cotton-Spandex leggings. Have them in several colors now, as I teach and practice yoga full time, I go through leggings quickly. They are made well--unlike some other leggings I've owned, the stitching holds up very well in the wash. They are thick enough but not too thick, I don't find they are particularly transparent like other leggings can be. Awesome high waist so they aren't slipping down when I'm bending over and getting into all other kinds of yoga positions. The best part, extremely affordable.
I'm 5'6" and 235 lbs, and ordered the XL. They fit perfectly and comfortably, and I'll be buying more in different colours.
My only gripe is that the "teal" colour I ordered is actually more of a "smurf blue" - but turns out I love that colour even more than teal, so no big deal. - Newport News - Pant - Long - Tall'

Toshiba Satellite Ac Adapter - laptop adapter charger, toshiba satellite ac adapter
An excellent replacement for the standard issued laptop cord. I have a Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527 and at first I was hesitant to buy from anyone but Toshiba. But I took a chance and it paid off; I ended up saving quite a bit of money for the risk. The cord is a little shorter than the standard but what's cool is that the cord part that goes into the computer swivels! Not so much strain on that part. But yeah it fits and works. If you are in need of one but cant shell out the money for the Toshiba store, buy this. Laptop/Notebook AC Adapter/Power Supply Charger+Cord for Toshiba Satellite A100 A110 A135 A135-S4527 A135-S4656 A135-S4666 A135-S7404 A200 A205 A215 A85 L25 L25-S119 L25-S1192 L25-S1193 L35 M115-S1061 M35X P205 a135-s2246 a135-s2276 a135-s7403
I tried to find a replacement at the big box stores and couldn't find anything less than $50 and all were in a universal configuration. It works and it arrived quick. Even though the back of my Toshiba Satellite A205 showed 19V @ 3.95A, the 19V 3.42A adapter works fine and I have had no problems.
I bought this as a replacement for the power supply that came with my Toshiba Satellite, and I wish this had come with the laptop instead of the original. Designing this with an elbow right where it attaches to the laptop is perfect. The first one stopped working because the wire got loose from getting jammed and bent all the time since it stuck straight out from the computer. This cord provides more protection for itself, and it never gets in the way.
No issues with it working so far. So glad I bought this! Actually, I'd recommend considering buying one of these even if your current Toshiba power supply works fine. It's just better.
I received the adapter, hooked it up to my computer and plugged it in to charge,
after 30 minutes or so it started smoking and smelled like it was burning, I immediately unplugged it. The top of the adapter box had a melted spot and i burned my hand on it while unplugging it, fortunately it did not damage my computer or the wood surface it was on. Thankfully I was in the same room or it would have started a major fire in my home. I sent an email to the supplier they never responded. The least they could have done was offer to replace it!
There's not much to say other then it works. It charges my computer as fast or maybe faster than my original charger. I actually prefer this charger over my stock charger that came with my computer because the male end of the cord immediately goes to a 90 degree angle so my cord isn't sticking straight out of the side of my laptop thus it feel more durable. And my not break like my previous stock laptop charger.
After the original power supply failed, I found this one for a very good price and with good reviews.
Pros: Price, the "L" shaped plug is a big advantage.
Con: The indicator light is BRIGHT green. Bright, as in if facing up, it will light up the end of a room. Also, the cord is about a foot shorter than the factory cord.
Will have to see about the durability, but so far after a couple of weeks of daily use, it is working just fine. - Toshiba Satellite Ac Adapter - Laptop Charger - Toshiba Ac Adapter - Laptop Adapter Charger'
