Nikon Coolpix - photography, nikon

This is a very versatile camera and responsive to most needs. It has a good macro range to go along with a super zoom range. It compares well to a Panasonic DMC-GH1 which has a much larger sensor and more expensive optics (the lens alone is twice the price of this Nikon). The Panasonic also produced higher saturation and contrast shots in default mode and this gives the appearance of higher resolution. The Nikon gave a truer auto outdoor color balance and more natural contrast. Even at ISO 800 it was very sharp. You can enlarge a few test shots at the DPReview forums by searching for "Nikon P100 test shots". or if this works: [...]

The two highlights that amazed me were the Nikon's focusing indicator system. It is so cool that when you shoot a bouquet of flowers the display shows you each blossom chosen by the matrix focusing system. You click the shutter with the knowledge that it is choosing what you want. Wonderful. The second highlight is the range of the optics from good macro, nice wide angle, and amazing telephoto. Please see the photos I uploaded showing how well this camera compares. What the Nikon lacks mostly comes down to smooth tones and fine detail at high ISOs; and this is only because it is being compared to a large sensor camera. The images would easily pass a fairly critical viewer on an 8x10 print and seem to be better than previous cameras with this size sensor.

Pros (so far):

Great focus indicator system, Display shows small green squares over selected objects for focus = ready to shoot, red square = not ready

Light, easy to hold good fit to my medium sized hands.

Articulated screen seems more natural than the swing out to the side screens (aligned with lens)

Quick access to shoot videos, focus tracking option, slow motion (lower res 240 fps),

Hugh zoom range and quite fast action, 1½ ++ second end to end

Outdoor sunlight colors quite natural

Very good resolution lens for this price range and favorably compares to much more expensive lenses (see above photos, several are pieces of 16 x 20 prints)

Very good macro versatility (see blowup of portion of terry towel above)

Adequate viewfinder but very contrasty, necessary info in viewfinder.

Cons (so far):

When shooting a video the focus is not able to keep up with the zoom (I reduced my rating because of this).

No RAW image option (less important with tools like Corel Image Adjustment Lab that gives me color temperature correction on jpg)

Lens cap rather than auto protect system, must remember to take it off before turning on camera (your notified when you forget)

Must use the menu system for several settings (ISO, color balance), slower but OK (hats off to the Canon G11, Panasonic)

Fast zoom over big range means it is tricky to accurately crop a shot (same with others though) Would love to see a 'nudge' feature for small changes.

Color balance with my photo fluorescent lights was tricky to dial in

Quick shutter in most situations but not all

No hot shoe for accessories and external flash

Only an adequate viewfinder

Minimum aperture of f8 (standard for cameras in this class, but would love to see it improved)

Screen does not 'self protect'

Must manually switch viewfinder verses LCD, simple one push button though Nikon Coolpix P100 10 MP Digital Camera with 26x Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) Zoom and 3.0-Inch LCD (Black)

Ok, so I gave it a title that probably makes you wonder what I could possibly be talking about so here it is:

1. a really wide angle lens (26mm) for those close up shots and scenery shots (you know, the church with all of the spires that you have to backup all the way around the block to get into the picture).

2. a fantastic mechanical zoom lens that goes up to 678mm to bring in those distant shots (an with a tripod, the digital zoom puts you into the far objects pocket!). Keep in mind that with a zoom this large, holding it by hand is NOT going to produce a nice picture no matter how much stabilization is built into the camera!

3. One handed camera that is easy to use with a single hand and light enough to do so all day!

4. An articulated view screen that allows you to take pictures over the head of everyone crowding around the parade and still see what you are taking a picture of; it even allows you to take the pictue under the legs of someone standing in front of you or take that shot of a flower without having to bend down!

5. A camera body and lens that looks exactly like the SLR Digital Nikon! The only difference is you have a nice range of lens options that the other person (with the SLR) has to keep changing lenses to obtain. The camera also weighs a lot less and certainly costs a LOT less!!!

6. A wide range of shooting options from fully automatic to manual over-rides. Several scene modes also help with fast actions shots and close-ups.

7. A camera that you will not grow out of soon and one that even pleases the pro when they do not want to fuss with things.

8. the option to use a view finder if you want to! Yes, I know the 3 inch screen is nice, but if it is really sunny, the view finder works much better. Also, it is much quicker to use for those rare shots that you did not plan! You can turn off the through the lens view finder, the 3 inch monitor or both.

A 16 Gig SD card (not included, the internal memory is good for 9 pictures) gives you the ability to take over 6,000 shots (enough for that trip to Italy) without worrying about memory cards. While on that subject, this camera essentially becomes free after your first 900 pictures (figuring that film and processing for 24 exposure film ran about $10). On a recent trip to the Tulip Fields in Washington State, I shot over 300 pictures in that one day! So, the camera quickly pays for itself.

On the note of cost, this camera almost becomes a throw-away on a trip! Say you are in Italy and have been there for three weeks. You have averaged 100 pictures a day (very easy to do) and on your last day of the trip, you drop your camera from the third floor. You recover the memory card with your 2100 pictures. The camera was paid for after 900, so you are money ahead, have your pictures, and do not sweat the loss of the camera! (Ok, reality is that we will still be upset, but think how you would have felt if it was the Digital SLR with the nice zoom lens that you paid $5000 for!!)

The only negative to this camera is that Nikon does NOT make a case for the camera! No one really does. However, the Lowepro case comes very close (a little large) with a belt clip (velcro for easy on and off), a carrying strap (detachable), and a carry handle on top with a front pouch that easily fits two extra batteries and extra memory.

Speaking of battery, the included battery lasted for 350 pictures using the zoom extensively. The in camera charging unit works, but makes it a real pain. Purchase the Nikon En-El5 accessory package from Bargaincell (on Amazon) for $14 with shipping. It gives you a spare battery (larger than the original- good for 400 shots), a quick charger, a 12 volt adapter for the charger to allow you to charge from your car, and a European adapter that allows you to plug your charger in many European countries, including Russia.

This is one fantastic camera and a great price to go with it!!

UPDATE TO REVIEW:

I just returned from a trip to Russia (30 days) and I have taken over 13,000 pictures with this camera during this time. I have used the zoom feature extensively in the many churchs that we visited and at all of the other landmarks. The wide angle lens really did an outstanding job getting all of Red Square into the picture! The zoom did a fantastic job (laying on my back on the floor shooting up at the cupala) obtaining the inlaid tile pictures in the dome!

I made a comment earlier that a 16 Gig memory card would be adequate for a trip, but I found that I took almost 36 gigabyte of pictures and video on this trip! I had taken a laptop with me so that I could review pictures daily, but had not intended to actually do all of the storage on it. Well, that became my main picture store since I only had two 16 gig memory cards with me.

The HD movie feature was fantastic as we were able to record several of the live performances of Russian Dance that we went to. Having the articulated view screen allowed me to shoot great video over the heads of the people in front of us. The only issue with taking movies by hand this wasy is that your arm gets very tired after about 10 minutes of holding the camera! I should have thought to bring a tripod!!

We only had one problem in the trip with the camera and it happened after I had been taking extensive pictures in a very hot building (over 100 degrees) using the flash (took about 400 pictures). The camera closed the lens and gave me an error message. Changing the battery did not make any difference. My wife suggested that the camera had gotten too hot, so I waited 10 minutes and then tried the camera again, it worked perfectly! It has not acted up since. This happened in Moscow while the outside temperature was over 100 degrees and the building felt even hotter. As mentioned, I had been using the flash extensively and the camera was quite warm. Over the next two weeks I took over 5,000 pictures and it never acted up again.

My recommendation is a very strong buy for a great camera and HD video unit!! - Photography - Digital Camera - Superzoom - Nikon'

You are never fully dressed until you have on some perfume. Indeed, even when wearing nothing at all (or perhaps, especially when you are wearing nothing at all) you need some perfume - sweet, alluring and sexy. For me, my most favorite scent of all is Elizabeth Taylor's White Diamonds. White Diamonds is sweet without smelling too powdery or too flowery. It has an excellent scent that lasts on my skin and smells excellent.

For me and the man of my life, it's got to be White Diamonds. We highly recommend this wonderful perfume to you, or perhaps for that special lady in you life!

I can not review this item because this is not the item I received. I did order this item but I received the one in a tall bottle. I wanted this one because the bottle is so fancy. this was a gift for a friends birthday on July 25 th. I knew she had the tall bottle and I wanted to get her somethinga different. The order arrived 2 days befor her birthday and I didn't have time to return it and get what I ordered. I don't know why they did not send me what I ordered. I do know I was greatly disappointed.

I bought this for my wife as a Christmas present, as she loves this brand and has been using it for years. This is the first time that I didn't go retail for perfume, and am wondering if I did the right thing. The wife says that this doesn't smell the same as the last bottle that I bought for her in the mall (allegedly it is stronger smelling). I can't tell the difference since I am a guy, but if she isn't happy then the purchase may have been a waste of money. The bottle looks the same to me, and the price for the quantity received was terrific. I only gave this 4 stars because I perceived it to be a good purchase. Waiting to hear from some of the ladies who bought this online. - Edp - Elizabeth Taylor'

Earphone - earphones, iem

Prelude

Before late February, I didn't know anything about MEElectronics. When I finally heard about the company and purchased my M9Ps, I realized that they were a company that I should keep my eye on. In the time since, I've had the chance to review their lower end IEM models, the SX-31 and M2s and I've been impressed by the both of them, in different ways. Now, I'm here with a review of the first generation M6 models, one of MEElectronics' higher end IEMs. These apparently share the same drivers as the M9s and M9Ps and if that's true, then I should be in for a pleasant experience. So, did the M6 IEMs live up to my expectations? Read on to find out.

Packaging and Accessories

The first generation M6s ship in a black paper box that shows off the IEMs themselves through a transparent plastic window on the front. In terms of accessories, the M6s include an accessory pack that's incredibly similar to that shipped with the M9Ps, which is a very good thing. Inside the box, you'll find a clamshell hard case, three pairs of silicone single flange eartips, a pair of generic black foam tips (similar to Shure "olives"), an airplane adapter and a cable winder.

Design and Build Quality

The M6s are made of plastic that feels rather durable. The cable is somewhat thick and rubbery feeling but doesn't feel as though it would cause problems if not abused routinely. Inside the cable that leads out of the earpieces, there is a built in memory wire which helps route the cable over one's ears and stay in place once the earpieces have been inserted. I've heard complaints that the wire is too stiff but it was relatively soft and pliable in my experience. The cable terminates in a heat-shrink covered gold-plated straight plug and doesn't inspire confidence because of its lack of a proper strain relief.

It's worth noting that the newer and more expensive M6s are equipped with a much better cable that features a properly relieved L-plug.

Comfort and Fit

Getting these fitted can be a bit of a pain sometimes because of their over the ear design and the memory wire that's embedded within the cable near the earpieces themselves. The memory wire is soft and pliable but because of it being there, these aren't well suited to situations in which you'll constantly be taking them out of your ears. Once they are in your ears, they disappear. Using the included foam tips or Sony hybrids, I was able to get an effortless and comfortable seal. The earpieces sit flush with your ears and I found that it was easy to lie down on my side with my head against a pillow without sacrificing comfort. These are easily some of the most comfortable IEMs I've used. Isolation is rather decent as well with the right eartips but it's nothing spectacular.

Sound Quality

Burn in: As per my usual, these IEMs were given 25+ hours of burn in prior to review.

Once again, MEElectronics has managed to impress me and even straight out of the box, I was enjoying the M6s. I will say that they sounded a bit hollow straight out of the box but after burning in for a few hours, it filled in nicely. In terms of bass, the low end is smooth, detailed and refined. That's a lot of adjectives but they all apply in some way, some more so than others. It's certainly a highlight of the presentation with more than enough boom and punch to make Hip-Hop and Electronic music stand out. That's not to say the bass is boomy, far from it. Bass is well controlled and doesn't overwhelm the rest of sound signature and rarely creeps up on the lower mids. The low end lacks the speed and extension of my RE0s but is certainly better in terms of quantity.

Mids are smooth and full sounding, if recessed slightly. The detail and clarity in the midrange is impressive for the price with full bodied and natural vocals and a nice sense of space and airiness. Treble is slightly emphasized as well, like the bass, and treble extension and detail are both quite good for IEMs in this price range. It's worth noting as well that these boast marginally smoother and better refined highs than the M9s but slight harshness and sibilance can be heard on some higher notes.

The sound signature is warm, full, and smooth with a very nice and dynamic tonal balance throughout the sonic spectrum. The soundstage is nearly as large as that of the M9s but not quite as airy and positioning and separation are both very good for the price. These work incredibly well with a wide range of genres, including the aforementioned Hip-Hop and Electronic and also Jazz, Classical and Alternative/Rock. While these can't match my RE0s in terms of overall quality, transparency and clarity, especially when it comes to the quality of the treble and neutrality, the M6s are very impressive in their own right, especially when you consider how inexpensive they are.

Value and Conclusion

The maroon versions of the M6s are available for $30 on MEElectronics' website. The current generation model retails for $50 on the website but can be found for approximately $40 on websites such as Amazon and Overstock. At $30 for the first generation M6s, they are an absolute steal and you wouldn't be remiss in buying the more expensive versions for the improvements to the build quality either. Despite apparently sharing the same drivers as the M9s, they are definitely superior in every way besides airiness. The M6s deliver one of the most entertaining sound signatures I've heard in a while and are easily the most competent performers that I've heard in the sub $50 price range and even outside of that range, these perform well enough to be worth a look. Tactical Pants - bdu, cargo pants

I Do have to say I was kinda iffy on these pants but after buying them I found the quality and fit to be perfect, I am a tall and slim person and these pants fit like a dream, very long so they are not high waters on me. The quality of the build is amazing! The pants shed water and stains great (not to say they will not stain because they will) the amount of pockets and locations are great, I love the built in cell phone pocket and the no steal wallet pocket. Lightweight Tactical Pants - Coyote - 40 x 30

Wow. These are great pants that have all the extras. There are wallet slots in both rear pockets. A watch pocket. A change pocket inside the right front pocket, a "D" ring for your keys. And, a secondary button to go along with the snap closure in front. They are not baggy and fit well. I wish these were available when I wore a uniform. 5 stars all the way.

Coyote Lightweight Tactical Pants are water resistant, tough as nails, and very comfortable. I bought these because all of my blue jeans started wearing out at the same time about a year after I bought them. This really ticked me off. I paid an obscene amount of money for name brand jeans (BKE Marshall) that lasted a year??? So I did some research and decided to try these Propper tac-lites. The only negative thing I can say is that they run a little smaller than what I'm used to wearing and the elastic banding on the sides sometimes causes a minimal degree of irritation. I still think they're perfect and I'll be buying nothing else until I run into something more durable and functional in the price range.

These pants do everything for me. They're one of the few I can find in my weird size (30x36), they have a decent variety of colours available, they're very durable (which is good 'cause I'm an active guy,) they're cargo pants (also good 'cause I carry a lot of stuff,) and they look great. I highly recommend them.

these are great tactical pants. they move freely brand new as well as most pants do after a long break in period. they also clean off easily and don't tear. I can put these pants through a hard march through dense foliage and come out just as i went in!

These are super tactical pants. Fit like Royal Robbins/511s used to and maintain their shape and creases very well. Very comfortable and the matching belt is a great extra. I bought three pairs in different colors and am very happy with them. Highly recommended. - Tactical - 511 - Cargo Pants - Bdu'

Otterbox - htc inspire 4g, htc desire hd

I just bought a HTC Inspire 4G from AT&T and needed a case for it. Since there isn't an otterbox case for it yet, I looked around and since the dimensions are the same for the Desire HD, I tried this one. It fits perfectly. All the buttons and holes line up perfectly. A must buy to protect an Inspire or Desire. OTTERBOX HTC Desire HD Commuter Case

I just got the new HTC Inspire 4g and was looking for a case but not much is out there yet. Lucky for me I found out that the HTC Desire HD and Inspire 4g are identical phone desings and this case fits the phone perfectly! Great case for a great price at 22.99 on Amazon

This review is for the Otterbox Commuter Case for the HTC Inspire 4G. Although the product is marketed for the Desire HD, the Inspire 4G and the Desire HD are the SAME PHONE. If you buy this case for a phone other than those 2, then yes, it won't fit. If you buy a different case (defender case) for your Inspire 4G, then yes, it won't fit. Don't blame anyone but yourself if you buy the wrong case for the wrong phone.

The case is what it is. A great case for the Inspire 4G (or the Desire HD). All your ports are exposed as they should be, although the port for the charger/headphone jack is a bit flimsy. Other than that, the other cases I've tried for this phone (Speck, CaseMate) added too much bulk to the phone. The phone felt a lot better "nude." This phone is the next best thing to a "nude" phone. It doesn't have textured side-grips, but your grip is greatly improved versus a no-case phone. I feel a lot more comfortable throwing my phone around now that it's in an Otterbox.

Pros: Pretty much everything except for the 2 cons listed below. Great Fit. Great Feel. Great Look.

Cons: Bottom flap is a bit flimsy, but another review I read somewhere (maybe here) recommended to just snip off that portion with no reduction to your protection. 2nd con was that when I was looking for this case, it was out of stock virtually everywhere, including otterbox.com. I paid about $10 more than the MSRP, but it was worth protecting my $400+ device.

This case fits perfectly! It even includes a screen protector! I bought the HTC Inspire 4G and it looks great! Although, it does attract lint on the corners of the phone where the rubber liner is exposed, but that is in no way a deal breaker! I recommend this case.

This is a quality product and perfectly fits the HTC desire HD. I am very much satisfied with the product. The case fits well and has 2 layers of protection- one inner silicon layer and outer hard shell. all the corners are will protected. Also got a screen protector film for added safety. Definitely, the best case for HTC desire HD

Otterbox has a good reputation so I got one. This is my first Otterbox case. I've used Speck and Switcheasy cases in the past.

First thing I noticed is that the commuter case feels solid and looks great.

Second thing I noticed is that I felt obligated to keep my fingers near the rubbery parts so that the case wouldn't slip out of my hand. This can be awkward and some-what uncomfortable.

I really like how the ports are covered.

I really dislike the top button. I find that it's more difficult to press with the case on. I actually found the top button to be very easy to press when the phone is nude.

Screen Protector:

I had no problems getting it on without any bubbles. (ppl are just impatient, imo)

Though, mine had some indents on it... "Pre-indented" awesome! not.

Maybe I've just been spoiled with Speck & Switcheasy screen protectors, but otterbox screenies don't feel that great. They're clear! but they just don't feel as good as the other two brands. Also, only one? Both Switcheasy and Speck pack 2 with their cases.

I buy cases to protect from normal - large falls/bumps/w.e so size isn't something that turns me away. I don't feel like this case will be sufficient to protect from a fall. I recently talked to someone who had a cracked inspire screen and they said it fell from his wife's lap to a tile floor with commuter case on.

Would I buy this case again? probably not.. I'd buy the Seidio Active X -bettergrip(not sure if they come with screen protectors tho.. BIG MINUS if they don't), Seidio Innocase Rugged, or the otterbox defender. It's too bad that seidio cases are so ugly, tho. D: otterbox cases are really nice looking. I'll give them that.

I think this is a good case if you want minimal protection.

this case is very solid and practical, fits my DHD and the buttons are used easily. good product with high quality. one thing to add: this case will add some extra size to your DHD but i don't mind, its already a big phone :)

I received the wrong item though the barcode sticker on the package says "Otterbox commuter case DESIRE HD new". Probably not amazon's fault here...BE CAREFUL and CHECK the item before attempting to wrap this thing around your HTC Inspire. Instead of getting the Otterbox case for DESIRE HD I got the regular DESIRE S version. It's totally different. Only the case for HTC DESIRE HD will fit the HTC INSPIRE. So just check because HD is bigger and the design is completely different. Don't find out the hard way, just make sure it says HD. Or just don't buy this online. The only way to get a replacement from the supplier is by buying a new one while I wait for the refund from Amazon. Not cool...I can imagine this has happened more than once and it's frustrating to find out the hard way. I didn't know there's so 3 different models of Desire until now. - Otterbox - Htc Desire Hd - Htc Inspire 4g - Htc'

Cell Phone Accessories - android, screen protector

I read with interest how great this product was ONCE YOU TRIED 3 TIMES. Anyway, I knew I was smart and even after being warned I'd be on my own as there were no instructions I'd get the skin installed on the first try. But, just in case I ordered 3 3-packs. It was so inexpensive, why not? (hint: read all the way through before you give up and try sonmething else)

My first puzzlement was the taped on "tabs". On one side the tab said "step one peel off this mask before application" and the one on the other side said to peel that one off after application. I thought it weird you had to peel off tabs taped on the skin. I thought maybe they were "handles". Anyway, after peeling off the first one, it left a sticky residue like you find peeling on price tags from Target. I put the skin on the phone and then peeled off the other one. I ended up soaking that one in WD-40 to clean all the sticky stuff off. It was a total mess, left air pockets and didn't stick. It slid right off the phone. So I tried another.

But this time in trying to get the first tab off, an entire layer of clear skin came off. OK, stop laughing. I'm telling you this so you don't repeat what I did. The clear skin was only a protective layer on each side of the real skin. Once you stick this new clean side down on the phone (I had no trouble like aother reviewer in lining it up) you can work the air bubbles out very slowly knowing the part 2 side was also a protective layer and smudges wouldn't matter. But, all this good stuff didn't take place till the third try.

Get this product. It works really well, but buy more than one 3-pack, as you'll probably need it. Hopefully, I've saved you at least one false start. Fosmon Transparent Clear Screen Protector for Motorola Droid X MB810 with Lint Cleaning Cloth, 3 Packs

Excellent product for the price. I was hesitant to buy it when I read the reviews, but I am very happy. The key to these screen protectors is to know how to apply them.

The protectors have 3 layers each. The first layer (with the red tab) faces down and covers the "sticky" side of the protector that touches the screen. I say sticky for lack of a better word. The middle layer is the actual protector itself. The last layer (with the blue tab) is the top layer that you can use to press out bubbles without messing up the protector.

Applying the protector is somewhat difficult if it is your first time. First, I turned off the phone as I pressed some buttons which turned the screen on. Second, I put on latex kitchen gloves and washed them off thoroughly. The screen protector will not stick to the latex, nor with the latex leave an oily fingerprint on the protector. Third, I wiped the screen down with a damp paper towel, then dried it off with another. Then I rubbed the screen with the included lint-free cloth (coffee filters work just as well). Make sure that there is NOTHING on the screen, otherwise there will be an air bubble there that you cannot get rid of.

Now comes the tricky part. Peel off the red tab layer about halfway and align the protector with the phone of the top of the Droid's screen. Make sure that it is aligned perfectly, otherwise, the protector won't seal completely. Then roll the lint-free cloth up and rub it down the protector vertically as you slowly remove the red tab layer. Once that is done, and there are no major air bubbles, press the small air bubbles out from under the protector. Then grab the blue tab layer and SLOWLY peel it off diagonally. Go slow, otherwise you will take off the protector.

That's all there is to applying the protector. I did notice that there was a little residue (just enough to cause there to be some friction when sliding my fingers across the screen) left from the second tab. I got rid of this by taking the damp paper towel and gently rubbing the top of the protector with it. Everything came off perfectly.

Hope this helped someone. Don't forget that 3 come in a pack, so you don't have to get it right on the first time. Enjoy!

My package came with 3 individually wrapped screen protectors. Each pack had the following:

Screen protector.

Small wiping cloth.

Smoothing plastic tool.

Suggest watching youtube videos on how to apply the screen protector because it does bubble if you do not clean and smooth properly. Directions in the packet is non-existent. I have no idea how to use the smoothing tool (I'm thinking it may even scratch the protector if you run it along trying to get bubbles out).

Even if it bubbles... screen is clear when screen is on. Overall would purchase again.

I bought a set of these despite some of the negative reviews. They were cheap enough that why not. The install is difficult, but not more then any other screen protector. To begin with, I am just about to order another set because I screwed up the install on all 3 of these. But, notice I am about to order another set. Now, I don't know if other reviewers didn't get the same product that I did, but there are 2 protective plastic covers to each screen protector. each had a tab that states when to remove. This is the same as most other screen protectors. So, you are not trying to peel of the sticker, which would leave residue, but the whole protective cover for the screen protector. So sticky residue...sounds like someone doesn't know what they are doing. Okay now for the install, and the problems. To start off, I am a perfectionist. The last one I installed is very, very good. There is just one small speck under it and so I want to replace it. Now that I have some fingerprints on the screen it is hard to even find. Okay, so the problem I ran into and I assume others as well, is that the lint free cloth is not actually lint free. This is not much of a problem for cleaning the screen, after cleaning you should use canned air and some tape to perfect the screen anyway. Where it becomes a problem is that it is packaged with the screen protector. So there are small pieces of lint all over the protective covers on the screen protector. If you don't clean them off first, when you peel off the first layer in order to install the protector, the static attracts that lint. Unfortunately I didn't realize this until try number 3 and it was too late at that point. So, follow all hints you have heard, clean area, gloves if available, canned air and ensure under light that the screen is clean and as an added step ensure the new protector is free of lint before removing protective covers. That will ensure a clean fit. Buy these protectors. They feel nice and fit the entire screen, but more importantly they are only a few dollars. You spend more then that on an energy drink. Stop worrying. The only other thing worth mentioning is that they are a hair long. literally, not much more then a hair. If installing from the top of the phone, they hang just a hair below the bottom of the screen. They don't actually touch the buttons so there is no issue there, but when first installing it takes a minute for the bottom to settle out and if you look close, very, very close, you can see that it overhangs. This is by a distance that I cannot even measure, maybe the length of 2 or 3 hairs thick. This is my first review ever and grammatically it is a mess but if I didn't write it now (with a few drinks in me) I never would. Previously I purchased the Masque brand, Between the 2 the Masque is better in that they fit perfect and don't have the lint issue, but for the price, after a proper install these look exactly the same and actually seem like colors look brighter and are more resistant to fingerprints. When it comes down to it I am reordering these instead of the others which I would also rate as a 5 star. In summary, these Do Not have that crappy feel of Zagg products. They feel like a glass screen. They are easy to see through, resist fingerprints, and fit very, very good. Ordering more right now. BTW fast shipping even around Christmas time. - Screen Protector - Screen Protectors - Android - Fosmon Technology'

Microphones - external, shotgun

I've used this a few times for short films, and it's worked great for me.

I love the ability to switch the barrels to go from Omni to Directional recording.

Sound quality is great, in a blind test I am unable to tell this mic apart from a Rode shotgun we also use.

The included shock mount, windscreen, and carrying case are okay, and they get the job done, but aren't awesome. I figure those things are just icing on the cake. AZDEN SGM-2X Professional Shotgun Microphone

So, I thought i wouldn't want to drop 200 bones on a microphone so initially i purchased a shotgun for around $60 and with a mixer it sounded pretty good. But with my films now getting some financial backing i purchased this mic and i have been blown away with it's quality! the sound build and value are way worth more than $200 and after viewing my film in a movie theater with surround sound, (Just the premiere, not a full blown box office)the dialogue passed quality test with flying colors... highly recommended! i just picked up a second!

I bought this as cheaper alternative to Senheiser and it was a good choice. so far no issues, works well and I didn't yet find any difference between this mic and my previous Senheiser. One thing - in the item description they didn't say it comes with shotgun windscreen, so I ordered one separately. Now I have two and have spent unnecessary US$ 30.

Great microphone, the fact that it can go from a super cardioid to a smaller microphone is really helpful. Sound quality is pretty good considering the price, most people think a sennheiser ME66 is what you should go for, but 600+ dollars and you need to buy the power adapter for phantom power...go with the Azden if you are starting out with sound or if it is within your budget. The only real issues I had was the shock mount fitting into a hot shoe on a DSLR, they should include one that can fit onto a boom pole as well. Another issue is batteries, there should be an option for phantom power as well. Otherwise fantastic product!

As an indie filmmaker, I needed a decent shotgun mic on a budget. I had tried others and was weary about doing another one, but this mic has been quite awesome so far. I can't wait to get it on set, but if it performs like the tests I did at home, I'm not even remotely worried. I plugged it into my Zoom digital recorder and all runs perfectly well. Happy I made this purchase.

The shipping was horrible, the big box was half-destroyed and the small actual one was noticeable crushed, I have pictures, but i don't know if I can add them and I don't feel like making a video, but the microphone survived well and I have enjoyed the use of it so far, thanks!

I am a hobbist, and a student. I needed a mic for my student projects. The Azden SGM-2X is everything I expected. The design is great, the price is great, and it produces some great audio levels. I recommend this mic for any pro or any hobbist like me looking to add some good audio in their videos.

Increadible. Puts a whole new quality factor on all of my work. I do think it was a little pricey, but ill make up that money in no time. If you are looking for a durable, quality shotgun microphone on a budget, this comes very close to a perfect purchase.

OK, this is strange. I don't hear in my right ear so I have difficulty hearing my passenger while driving. I experimented with 3 karaoke type microphones, 2 that were suppose to be conference microphones, and one voice recorder type. Nothing worked very well.

I decided to go all out, spend the big dollars, and bought this microphone through Amazon. This microphone has a tiny Vox guitar amp duct tape to its side, a tiny adjustable camera mount attached to its bottom, and the little camera mount is screwed to a block of wood that fits in one of the cup holders in the center of my car. A headphone for my good left ear is plugged into the guitar amp.

NOTE: the headphone is the type that sits perpendicular to the ear and therefore doesn't block other sounds I might need for safe driving.

NOTE: I removed the 1/4" amp male plug and solder on a 3.5 female mini socket and bought an adapter to go from the microphone to the mini socket.

It works. I may be an old nerd and I apologize if this review doesn't help if you want to listen to bats from 50 meters away but I can tell you that this microphone does what other microphones claim but don't do. - Shotgun - External - Azden - Windscreen'

Stanley Bostitch - stanley bostitch, office

For years, I toiled away at removing staples with my bare fingernails. Certainly, I thought, there must be an easier way! But these sorts of things take practice; you can't just jump right into high tech staple removing. You have to take baby steps. And so I began working my way through the world of staple removers and embarked on the Darwinian trek of staple remover evolution.

Having cut my staple removing teeth (pun intended) on the old-fashioned claw-style staple remover (BAZIC Claw Style Staples Remover, 2 Per Pack), I graduated to the "ultimate" staple remover (Swingline Ultimate Staple Remover, Platinum (S7038121)). Just when I thought I had reached the pinnacle of staple removing ease (after all, the word "ultimate" does mean "the best achievable or imaginable of its kind," doesn't it?), my world was rocked. ROCKED.

I had not even begun to imagine the possibilities. I didn't even know what I was missing until I felt the sweet caress of the Stanley Bostich Professional Magnetic Staple Remover in my hand. Contoured to fit my hand, just like my Venus razor, with a comfort grip so that the staple removing calluses on my sore hands could heal at last...how have I ever removed a staple any other way? What sort of life of misery and drudgery have I been living up to this point?

I'll tell you: chastised constantly by my boss for my unprofessional staple removing performances; endlessly chasing down loose removed staples, forced to wipe them off my desk and into my trash can on a daily basis, losing seconds of productivity; and nearly severing several of my fingers in a box-opening mishap in 2007. But no longer. Now I am free! Free from staple removing drudgery, free from embarrassing dressing-downs in front of my coworkers, free to open boxes with no concern for my life and limbs.

Thank you, Stanley Bostich Professional Magnetic Staple Remover, for taking this dismal life and making it worth living. I can't wait until they introduce the Master Staple Remover (dare I dream? I think I shall!) Stanley Bostitch Professional Magnetic Staple Remover, Black (40000M-BLK)

I work in a file room scanning and pulling staples all day. This is the very best staple puller I have ever used. It fits perfectly in my hand. It holds up under pressure and does not split apart at the seam. It is also magnetic for those pesky run away staples. The only problem I have with this staple puller is keeping it away from co-workers...had to put my name on it.

Not to get too emphatic about a staple remover, but this little tool rocks! A terrific design. I think the key is that they've used a very thin, very flexible spring steel blade -- nicely shaped -- that can pretty easily slip beneath most staples, even those tightly pinched down, without tearing the paper to pieces. The handle is comfortable, and the built-in magnet makes cleaning up the used staples a breeze. Good value for the money.

The first use of this product was an epiphany. How come this contraption wasn't invented decades ago? I have been using the clipper staple removal tool for years and that tool looks downright dumb in comparison.

This product is simply superior. You will be able to remove staples faster, with less effort, and with less damage to the paper than with the typical clipper staple remover.

If you are using the clipper, I suggest you invest small cash and get this product which will undoubtedly last for years, if not decades.

This staple remover has almost all five star reviews because it is simply the best. The contour handle is easy to grip, and the magnet on the underside is very handy when removing staples near a copier or scanner (we all know how a loose staple can really mess things up). But where this really shines in my office is removing large heavy duty staples. Lots of staple removers can remove a small staple binding a couple of pages. But only this staple remover can undo an inch thick document with one of those monster staples without destroying the pages.

Once you try this, you'll never go back to a conventional staple remover. This is one of those very simple tools that simply works great at performing a function that arises every day in a busy office. I also keep one at home because it is much simpler and more effective than other staple removers even for a simple job. I recommend this.

I got tired of using the old style staple remover when my last unit broke. I purchased several different products and found I liked this one the best. It's very fast, comfortable to hold, and I stay in control of the old staples so they don't get into trouble. It was also the least expensive of all the units I tested. Best product, lowest price - a simple decision. - Office - Stanley Bostitch - Staple Removers'

Shower College Tote Dorm - shower caddy, bath storage

My son loved his last year, my daughter asked for one too. Very light weight, carries all that bathroom/shower gear easily neatly. Netting allows shower wetness to evaporate away, no slimy puddles or mildew. When not in use flattens down to a thin pancake and takes little storage space. For cheap money it does the job. Bathroom Personal Organizer and Shower Tote

I use this for the gym shower at work. It's perfect for all my toiletries and best of all it's super light weight and I can easily clean it when it gets dirty. It collapses down flat for easy storage when not in use. I may likely buy another one for use when we go camping!

This is a great tote that I wish I had when I was living in the dorms in college. I bought it this time to use at the gym. I put travel size bottles in there and had too much room left. It was just overkill for me.

The strap is sturdy, and can be hung in the shower. the mesh sides allow for easy water drainage. Quite utilitarian. Plenty of room for large/full size bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, a poof and more.

This organizer folds flat for packing and the first time we used it was for a beach vacation. Great for sticky, sandy sunscreen and shells. You can rinse off everything in place and hang out to dry with the towels. We have 2, so one was in the bathroom holding toothbrushes, etc. We originally bought for camping and kids' camps, and we'll be trying it out for that in a couple of weeks. I have a feeling it will meet all goals - will fit a toothbrush/toothpaste, a myriad of travel-sized bottles and a washcloth. Dries quickly. I like the divided compartments.

This might be good to use as a dorm shower caddy if there is a protected place to hang while drying. To give a rough idea of size, I fit 5-6 regular-sized shampoo bottles in this with a little bit of extra room to slide toothpaste, toothbrush, and some little extras.

I was originaly quite disappointed as I had ordered this for my son for college and as stated by another review, the product I received was NOT the color presented in picture. We got a solid lilac purple organizer and not the shown white with blue trim. Needless to say, my son had no interest in this and wanted me to return it. I emailed the company regarding the issue and I received a response the next day and the product was quickly replaced with one of our choice, just a few days later. Now, that is incredible customer service and worth passing on... keep up the GREAT WORK !!!

I carry a number of products into the shower at the gym - shampoo, conditioner, soap, razor, face scrub, facial cleanser, washcloth and moisturizer. I use travel sized containers but I still need a container to hold it all. I was using a mesh lingerie bag but the razor was cutting holes in the mesh. This tote holds all - smaller would be better but this tote is way ahead of the mesh bag. The drain holes work well; the tote collapses to let me shove it into a packed gym bag. This is another product I dithered over choosing but I am pleased with the tote.

I like that it is lightweight and dries easily. However, stitching was loose/not done on each of the center dividers, so had to reinforce those. Is a bit small, but to go larger, you might have to go to a plastic item which I preferred not to do. Okay; not wonderful. - Bath Storage - Caddy - Beach Caddy - Shower Caddy'

Reconditioned Tools - cleat nailer, hardwood flooring nailer

I am a do-it-yourselfer who decided to put hardwood flooring in the living and dining rooms. Point one, I way underestimated how long it would take. I rented an air compressor and air assisted nailer from Home Depot for a total of $95 for one day and was disappointed in how little progress I made (it goes slower than you think).

For the price of renting a nailer for one day this side nailer is yours to keep forever, which means take as long as you want and don't worry about getting back to the rental store on time. Generally speaking a factory reconditioned unit is given a good quality check before it is released and I had only one problem with this tool and it was one I caused myself by double nailing in the same hole that caused a nail to jam in the chute. The plate and spring mechanism was easily taken apart, jam cleared and back to work. The jamming was my fault. The gun works smoothly, it comes with a hammer. There was one small nick on the one I received indicating it was previously used but at the price comparison of recon vs. new that was not an issue. Even if you are not sure what you are going to do with a side nailer in your tool collection after you have finished the flooring job, the price of buying factory recon vs. rental makes it worth while. Factory-Reconditioned Bostitch U/MFN200 Manual Flooring Cleat Nailer Kit

This item looked and performed like a brand new one. We had no problems using it. The metal side of the mallet is angled so that it is easy to tap the board into place without damaging the face. Hitting the plunger both drives a cleat and snugs the board up to the previous row. Even slightly curved boards straighten up without prying if you use a firm swing.

We installed about 1100 square foot of 3/4" cypress tongue and groove on our floor. This item was indispensable. We used cleats that we picked up at lowes for about $15 a box. We used 3 1/2 boxes of FLN200 qty 1000, placing a cleat at least every 8".

If you pull out the cleat feeder bar at the back of the tool, you an use the tool on the second row from the starting wall. (5.25 inch boards) The cleats are heavy enough to feed themselves. Because of the space needed to swing the mallet, I had to use a regular hammer and nails starting at the 2nd to last row.

The tool is symmetrical, so it works just as easily for lefties.

If you don't have the money for a pneumatic nailer, this is the way to go. I bought my tool new, but I've purchased reconditioned tools from Amazon and been very satisfied with the tool and the price. Far cheaper than renting (unless you have a very small job), and if your local rental place has a well-used tool this will work far better. One caveat: you have to be able to hit this thing HARD for it to work. Think about it- you're driving a spike flush with only one blow. That requires a certain amount of accuracy and a fair amount of force. And you have to be able to do it over, and over, and over ..... and over! Out in the open floor it's not bad, but working in close quarters or at a funny angle can be a challenge. And trying to hammer in a partly sunk asymetrical spike can be a nightmare. So, if you have some experience, a fair amount of upper body strength, and a willingness to break a sweat this is your tool. The rest of you may want to consider the merits of a pneumatic tool, or professional installation.

It was a complete waste of money for me. I couldn't drive a single nail fully using this nailer. No matter how hard I hit with the mallet, it never sets the nail in completely.

After trying it for couple of hours, decided to give up. I ended up renting a pneumatic nailer and compressor from the local rental place and that worked like a charm and was able to finish my floor installation very quickly.

I thought I was getting a bargain, but ended up with a $100 tool which doesn't work. I don't think I can return it, since it is past 30 days period.

Update (10/10): Customer service contacted me and let return the tool for full refund(even though it is past 30 days). Very impressed with the customer service quality.

The tolerances are too lose. Failing 20%. Many times it won't set the nails fully, there appears to be no adjustment(other than shiming the base). At times it drops 2 nails sending 1 almost correctly and the other thorough the corner of the board leaving it protuding half way. Not what I expect of Bostitich. I would have bought a cheap air-nailer if it was half this bad. (I didn't what to carry a compressor or hear it.)

I have used 3 air-nailers. The Porter Cable was the best.

One of the other reviews stated it was hard to use because 'you have to hit all in 1 shot everytime'. No, there is a ratch system. Apparently he didn't use it.

Last year it was $150 then $129 by Dec. Now $59 ??

First of all, mad props to Tool King, who totally handled the return of this tool quickly and professionally--you guys rock.

OK, now to the tool. I own several Bostich pneumatic power tools (roof nailer, frame nailer, trim nailer) which I bought partly for the reputation and partly for the 7 year warranty. I've been happy overall with those tools so I figured I couldn't go wrong with this basic, simple, man-powered tool. I mean, this technology is about is old as it gets: only one moving part in the entire tool and you bang it with a hammer to set the nail. I mean, COME ON--how do screw that up as a tool maker?

I'll tell you how--by using cheap, low-quality steel for the firing pin--which broke within two days of buying the tool. There's a thin piece of metal that the entire tool relies on to work--and that piece of metal snapped right in two with very little use. Of course, the tool was under warranty--but the closest service center was in DEERPARK, TX--30-40 miles from downtown Houston--one of the largest cities in the country. The part costs $5, but I didn't have the time or inclination to let me job grind to a halt while I went down there and had those guys order the part, etc.--so I went straight to Home Depot, rented the EXACT same tool, sent mine back to Tool King--and ALMOST finished my job (installing 1400 s.f. of white oak flooring) before the EXACT SAME PART broke on that tool--about two rows from the finish line. So, $85 in tool rental costs and two trips to Home Depot later, my job was done the Bostich floor nailer was on its way back to Tool King.

You know, I wish the propellerheads at Bostich would read these review and take them to heart. Because to save .10 on the manufacture of this tool they cost me a lot of time--and themselves the sale of a tool. If we can put a man on the moon Bostich should be able to make a f*@%#ing manual floor nailer that doesn't break so easily. It's gonna cost them a LOT more in the long run--in returned tools & warranty repairs--not to mention lost sales from disgruntled buyers... Get a clue, Bostich. - Floor Nailer - Hardwood Flooring Nailer - Cleat Nailer - Cpo Bostitch'

Kindle 3 Cover - kindle covers, kindle 3 cover

I used M-Edge covers exclusively for my old Kindle, and loved them. They were very sturdy, and very well made with quality suede, cloth, and excellent stitching.

So, I ordered an M-edge cover along with my new Kindle 3. Unfortunately, the quality seems to have dropped from their old covers. Both the suede and cloth are inferior to the old covers. The old covers used to be plush where as the new ones are made of a rougher material, and the suede inside is definitely not as thick or soft. Mine even had hard bits of glue that would have rubbed my screen, so I had to rub them off, leaving little bald spots.

The bottom leather bands were also creased and needed to be thinner (they partially cover the Up Arrow key and the Back key).

That said, it's still snug around my Kindle, lightweight, and functional. Definitely not as great as the old covers (which I would have recommended over any other covers). Not sure if I'd buy another, but they're okay.

The pink is more reddish than the picture, and actually fairly attractive. M-Edge Trip Kindle Jacket, Black (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle)

This is the first review I have written for a product purchased through Amazon. I was disappointed with the cover when I received it. The black cover picked up everything, dust, pet hair, or any residue on your hands. It is very difficult to clean. The cover makes it almost impossible to turn the switch on the bottom on and off. The stiching is of poor quality and the inside of the cover is splitting from the outside where the elastic attaches. The attachment for the strap that holds the cover closed leaves a grove in the cover and is out of alignment on the back. It looks like this item was rushed without concern for quality. For $35.00, I expect it to at least hold together and allow you to operate the Kindle while it is enclosed in the cover.

I just received the M-Edge Trip Kindle Jacket for my new Kindle 3G, and without a doubt, I can say that I am very satisfied with this product. The straps snuggly hold the Kindle in place, the whole case feels well made and comfortable in the hand, with a slightly padded front and back to protect it from falls. The Moleskine-like elastic band keeps it closed (or open when reading) and the interior is made out of a material that keeps the Kindle well-protected. It is also much smaller than most cases out there, making it much more portable. As a side note, I also purchased the M-Edge eLuminator 2 lighting peripheral, and it's complementary design, long battery life, and dual-brightness settings make it perfect for nighttime reading. This is really THE ONLY CASE worth considering on the market currently (and no, I am not being paid by M-Edge to say that). Overall, two thumbs up.

This case is super-slim and lightweight. And it's bright so I can always see it in my purse. It does its job to protect the Kindle, but if you're looking for full protection, this doesn't completely encase it...i.e. it wouldn't protect it from rain or something spilling in your bag. For me, that's not an issue. I like how the Kindle fits snugly into the case, and it kind of even feels like I'm holding a book when I have the case open. I definitely recommend this case.

Love this cover! The booklight pocket (for M-Edge's light) is on the right outside, which leaves the light protruding quite a bit. I just stuck it between the Kindle & the back cover & it stays just fine.

Really like the compact size, adds very little weight to my K3, strap keep it from popping open in my bag making me feel it's more secure. An earlier reviewer advised to prop it sideways with the elastic band which I did & voila! It works as a hands-free device now! Of course, have to change the page setting to landscape but it's perfect for reading during meals.

I have this in black which I liked at first as it matches my Graphite K3, but now I'm wanting a different color. Would like to sell but Amazon charges so much fees! If anyone wants buy this from me for $25, pls let me know.

In regards to functionality, this does it's job & I'm satisfied with this jacket.

When I bought this I didn't read carefully enough that it was canvas. I just saw that it had the elastic loop and was happy to find something like that as I really liked my K1 cover that came with it.

I really like the styling of this cover, it's very striking and bold. It holds my kindle in place very securely and the elastic holds the cover back while I am reading which is a nice bonus.

I really like the the M-Edge reading light and how nicely it fits into the case and how it has such a small profile along the side of the case when it's closed.

My main issue with the case is pretty huge - It seriously attracts every single cat hair in my house! It also attracts dust and feathers from my comforter. I feel like I need to take dust roller to it once a week! This makes it really look cheap. And when put next to my parents leather cases, it looks very cheap - even next to my free K1 case it looks cheap and that was fake leather! - Kindle 3 Cover - Kindle Covers - M-edge - Cover'

Cd Storage Case - cd cases, cd storage case

I received a box of these cases and about 20 out of 100 were broken upon arrival because they are so fragile. If they are handled carefully, they work well, but the hinges are easily broken. Unfortunately, not a lot of selection on Amazon for this type of clear CD case. Memorex 32021992 Slim CD/DVD 5mm 100-Pack Jewel Cases

I received them OK none broken or cracked. This price beats Walmarts price and these cases are as good as any slim cases I have ever used. I like the translucent back better than the black ones at Staples.

The cases are great, slim and easy to use. However, I guess because I ordered two of these (200 cases) they sent them in the box they came in. So, there was no extra padding like there is when they pack the box for you. So, in all we lost about 20 cases to cracking and breaking. Since I had a project to do that needed 200 CD's, I didn't appreciate having to go out and buy 20 more at Staples!

These cases meet my need for limited storage space. The drawback is they are very fragile. However, if you can find a low price on these cases replacing a broken case is very inexpensive. I plan on continuing to purchase these cases as long as I can find a low price.

The price of the product was great but quite a few of the jewel cases were damaged upon arrival. I am not sure if this was the fault of the shipping company or the deliverer but this brought the rating down. - Cd Storage Case - Cd Cases - 2009 Amazon Frustration-fre - Jewel Cases'

Finish Nailer - senco, best finish nailer

I bought one of these guns recently as a replacement for another nailer. I put in thousands of feet of crown moulding every month and have yet to have any sort of misfire or double nailing. It also sets the head of the nail comfortably below the surface each and every time. ...Yet another great SENCO tool! Senco FinishPro 42XP 15 Gauge 1-1/4-Inch to 2-1/2-Inch Finish Nailer with Case

I am a pro contractor who builds fine homes in the Lake Tahoe area.

Senco sets the standard by which all other nailers are rated. I have the new FP41XP and I love it. My old SFN40 is still going strong after about 10 years of heavy use. I had a Bostich (Stanley ) finish nailer before but I found it underpowered compared to the Senco. The nails used for the Bostich are inferior too. The so called galvinized 16Ga Bostich nails rusted easy. Senco nails are the best quality. The galvinized nails look like stainless and will not rust. The tip is easy to un jam if you hit something hard and bend a nail. The nailer has enough power to easily set a nail into 5/4 white oak. The gutless Bostich could not set a nail into 5/4 white oak.

This is a great nailer. It is both smaller and lighter than the SFN40 which is (was) the standard by which all other finish nailers are compared. One outstanding feature of this tool is that it is very quiet, while still able to drive and set 2.5" nails with ease. The depth adjustment and exhaust vent settings work just like other SENCO units, so no complaints there. You cannot go wrong with this unit.

It took a little sorting out to realize that this nailer is Senco's primo finish nailer. We have had a FSN30 on the job, and I was tired of having air shot into my face so I purchased this simply for the feature of an adjustable air deflector. It was worth the purchase! The FP41XP has more going for it than that-- more power, holds both more and longer nails and they load and unload MUCH MUCH easier. The spring that puts tension on the nail strip to feed nails hasn't been sticking as the FSN30's did. Has a good grip and feel, shoots accurately, easy to adjust depth of nail set, and haven't had a jambed nail to clear yet after several weeks of near-constant use, nor a miss-fire. Not all Senco nailers are created equal, and this is one of the best ones I have used.

I own quite a few nailers, and in my opinion this is really a top-of-the-line nailer. The oil-free design is great, it has a lot of power, and is light and convenient to use. This nailer has never jammed on me, but removing a jam is easy thanks to the flip-open front. Setting the nail depth is also easy.

One thing to note is the nails are specific to this gun, so make sure you can get nails at a price that's affordable to you. Another is if you set a nail too deeply you'll notice an elongated depression where the drive pin kissed the wood. I suppose another thing to keep an eye on is your supply of nails, as you go through a clip rather quickly due to the ease of use of this gun.

Summary: The nailer costs a bit more than others and is well worth it.

I have used this for finger jointed crown, finished 2x fir, and tacking up pre-hung doors. It sets doors like a champ. Just don't rely on the nails to hold up over time; do the screw in the hinge trick and you are good to go. Love the feel and balance to it, love the nail loading style and the impressive power it has.

I have been considering this Senco gun. This spring, Senco filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and sold off almost all of it's assets. My local tool repair facility told me they are having a very tough time getting parts now and was not confident about the future. Too bad , they made good tools. So just beware. If you purchase a Senco there's no assurance that parts will be available. Many of the more consumer-oriented and Chineese/Taiwanese import brands have very short-lived parts availability. They are meant to be used by homeowners until they break then thrown in landfills. It remains to be seen what happens to Senco long-term. If anyone has updated info, please respond to this.

There is not alot to a finish nailer. I want it to cositently sink nails at the proper adjusted depth, be easy to clear if it jams( in about 100,000 nails this has jammed three times, all by hitting a hidden drywall screw) which is absoutely amazing. I would think its about ready for a service but it still works well so i keep firing away. Oh and i also want it to feel good in my hand and fire smoothly. Also adjustable exhaust is nice. This does all of the above so it wins iv used others and this feels the best and fires the smoothest.

I've wanted a finish nailer for years and finally got the Senco FP41XP. I just use it around the home and farm, and I've found that it works fine with an air bottle for a quick repair out in the back 40. I designed and built some Craftsman style lighting fixtures out of redwood sticks, basically, and the only way I could assemble it without splitting was with the Senco. The nails seem a bit expensive, but it's very easy and convenient to change sizes back and forth, no tools or adjustments required. Depth of seating is very consistent in different materials...surprisingly so, to me at least. It speeds projects up more than I would have thought - since I do most projects without a helper, I can hold the work randomly in place with one hand and "bam" it's fastened. There's no need to position and clamp for each fastening operation. Also, if you drive a few nails for just a temporary holding operation, it's easy enough to pry the fixture apart when needed, with only minimal holes in the work. - Best Finish Nailer - Oil Free - Senco - Nail Gun'
