Next Generation - infrared repeater, ir emitter
I've bought many things online over the years and have never bothered to leave a review, but after purchasing this product I just had to.
The product is really great - it does exactly what it says it's going to do, it's easy to set up, and it lives up to all the hype.
But even better than that is the customer service! I accidentally ordered the wrong version - the one that doesn't extend with Cat5 cable. I shot them an e-mail and asked them what to do, and they sent me the XL without even waiting for my exchange product to get back to them - I had it in two days! They also included a SASE for me to return my incorrect purchase in.
On top of that, when I received it and plugged it in it didn't seem to work - but after conferring with Microsmith we determined it was a problem with my Cat5 cable, and he helped me troubleshoot the whole issue.
The product is top notch, and the service is even better. Just buy it now!! Hot Link Xl CAT-5 Ir Repeater System
I did a lot of research on IR forwarding devices. In my opinion, this is the one to buy.
Some other devices work by having you put a single point IR transmitter in the same general area as your electronics, and then blasting IR signals and hoping they hit everything. The "pyramid" devices fall into this category.
Some other devices work by having you put a fake rechargeable AA battery into your remote control, and the fake battery is really a radio transmitter. What if you have more than one remote?
This device is solidly built, works exactly as described, doesn't need to learn any remote commands, and transmits directly to each individual device. It also works with LCD and plasma TVs, you just have to put the IR receiver eye behind the TV. You simply run a Cat5 line from the TV area to where your A/V equipment is, and position the receiver and emitters on each side of the connection.
Microsmith also has fantastic customer support. I can't rate this product highly enough.
It just works.
Don't be discouraged by the box that it's shipped in. That's just about the only thing that is bad about this product. The box gives the impression that it's one of those cheapo gizmos they used to sell in NYC electronics stores circa 1980's. The inventor really needs to market and distribute such a wonderful product much better.
The receiver is ultra sensitive, so sensitive, in fact, that I needed to hide it behind my plasma, cover it up with a post it, and it'd STILL catch every single remote click. I have tried it with a Scientific Atlanta cable box, and a Samsung DVD player with no problems at all. Every available button on the remotes gets transmitted perfectly. The only thing I'd suggest is a way to tone down the sensitivity of the receiving IR eye. Bright scenes on the plasma tv would make the blue LED blink (meaning that it was receiving an IR signal). As would fluorescent lighting. Once I covered the receiver up with a post it, it works perfectly. You can literally aim your remote anywhere and the IR will receive the signal off the bounced waves.
I'd highly recommend the XL system which is expandable via a CAT 5 wire. This allows up to 200 ft, the physical limit of CAT5 wires. Trust me, threading a Cat5 cable through sheetrock is a lot easier than doing it with a big cable ribbon. My setup is as follows: I have a single bedroom apartment with the living room and bedroom separated by a dividing wall 4 inches thick. I wanted to mount two plasmas back to back on either side of this dividing wall. However, I wanted to share the cable box, dvd player in the living room with the one in the bedroom. This product allows that perfectly. I am saving $10 a month by not having to rent another cable box and also avoiding the unsightliness of more video equipment in the bedroom.
Thanks Microsmith!
This device allows you to control your a/v equipment from a distance after you have hidden it away in a closet, cabinet or another room. It works great (once you get the setup down). Also, the tech support for the product is outstanding.
In principle it's very simple. You place a small infrared eye (or receiver) in the room where you will be using the remotes (I put mine behind the tv). That connects via a Cat V networking cable to another device that has 6 little IR emitters attached to it. You attach (via tape) one of the IR emitters over the IR receiver for each piece of A/V equipment and you are in business.
In practice, you must be prepared for a little tinkering. Finding the best spot to place the "eye" was a trial and error process. This is not due to any defect with the product, however.
Most big plasma and LCD tv's give off a lot of IR (infrared) radiation during operation. (I am using this in connection with a 60" plasma.) So if you just tape the eye to the side of the tv, it's very possible that the interference from the tv itself will prevent the remote signals from getting through. (There is a little blue light that will shine when the eye is receiving IR radiation--if it is shining when no remote is being pressed, you know you have IR interference.) It took a bit of fiddling to get the positioning just right.
I made several calls to customer support during this process, and they were amazingly responsive. I spoke to a couple knowledgeable tech's (including the inventor of the product) who were very patient and helpful. They know the setup can vary depending on your individual situation and are very good at talking you through the process. It was easily the best customer service experience I've ever had with a technology product. (I am more used to long waits, tech's who barely speak English and tech's who walk you through mechanical scripts without really understanding the product.)
(Note, this is my second Microsmith IR booster. I previously bought a different version for a smaller tv which also works great. Because that tv was smaller the setup was more straightforward). - Remote Control Extender - Infrared Repeater - Remote Extender - Ir Emitter'

Motorola - cable modem, surfboard
I bought the Motorola Surfboard 5101 a couple of weeks ago on Amazon. Think they must have gotten a new vendor because the price was about $15 cheaper and there were hundreds of reviews for this cable modem.
I just wanted to point out some things that I picked up from the other reviews. I am a Comcast customer and I wanted to avoid paying the $3/month rental charge for their RCA modem. When I connected the 5101 even though I had all green lights I still had no internet connection. That is because you have to call Comcast and tell them your new MAC ID number that is shown on the modem. This is not pointed out anywhere in the instructions. The Comcast tech did not ask for my serial number. After a few minutes he made the change and said everything was OK.
I rebooted the modem and computer but I still could not connect to the net. I remembered from other reviews that it takes about ten or fifteen minutes for the change to take place. After 15 minutes I rebooted everything and I had my internet connection.
Also there is no mention that the 5101 works with Vista. Thought I might have to download some drivers but I didn't. It works just fine with Vista.
After two weeks the 5101 modem has been working with no problems. I do use that Standby button when I am not connected to the net just because all those green lights are a distraction.
Hope this helps. SURFboard SB5101 DOCSIS 2.0 Data Modem
I purchased this cable modem to replace a combo cable modem/wireless router from my internet provider to save money as I already had a wireless router. I use Charter Cable and the installation was very simple with them. First I plugged up the Surfboard modem, and powered up and connected the cable, and then plugged in my laptop and started IE. Charter loaded up a simple page where you indicated you were replacing their hardware, and all you had to do was enter your account # and their modem's MAC address and that was about it. I did install the Charter browser applet just to make the setup easier but that's all there was to it (I'll uninstall that later). A couple of reboots to the modem and reloading the IE browser and it was up and running with internet access. Then I plugged in my Netgear WGR614 wireless router to the modem. That took a couple of reboots to get all the IP addresses worked out between cable modem and wireless router and laptop, but it pretty much came up on its own with minimal effort. And all worked fine together with no added or installed software or patches. I will try and remember to update this post after it's been up and running a while with new info on how it performs over time. But initially I can only say good things about this modem, and connection speed is very good as well.
It's a simple cable modem and only has one ethernet connection at the back so if you want to connect multiple PCs/laptops then you'll need an additional router. It does have USB connection available as well.
For the price and ease of setup and installation it's great and all that we needed for our house.
I purchased this modem so I would not need to continue paying Comcast the monthly "rental charge". It runs well and has been trouble-free for a couple of months now.
Follow-up: After 5 months - still working great!
I haven't been able to try this product. It is sold by comcast and I purchased used from another party. But the unit needs to be removed from any accounts in order to add to your account. I emailed the seller to get it released, but no response. I couldn't believe comcast couldn't figure this out and remove it from any existing accounts so I could use it. Don't waste your money and learn from my mistake.
We switched cable service providers in the Cleveland area from Time-Warner Cable to WOW. Our old cable modem, although supposedly DOCSIS 2.0 compatible, refused to sync up with WOW's system. When asked, WOW technicians reported good experiences with the Motorola Surfboard SB5101 so I purchased and installed one in our home, replacing WOW's loaner modem. The Motorola cable modem has worked flawlessly every since, without a single failure in Internet service in the months we've had the new system.
One caveat and one minor quibble.
The caveat: the SB5101 had both Ethernet and USB interfaces. We used the Ethernet interface, not the USB interface, which potential users should know needs software installed on the host computer which does NOT work with Macintosh computers.
The quibble: the SB5101 has a Standby button (and light) which temporarily interrupts the connection to the net. I've never used it and the more I think about it, the more useless it seems to me. Save a few bucks and get the version without the Standby button.
Overall, a good, solid, very reliable cable modem at a very reasonable price. - Cable - Cable Modem - Modem - Surfboard'

Gel Mouse Pad - mousepads, ergonomic
This is definitely a great mouse pad for those who works with computer all the time.
The wrist support is so comfortable and it's great for those who have wrist injuries(like me).
Ok before you buy this, i want to tell you that this mouse pad is a bit smaller than the regular 4 square mouse pad that we got it for free. I have a big mouse, G500, so i have to get use to the reduced size. I have small hands so it will work it out for me in a while. But for those who have big hands and+ a big mouse, then you might want to reconsider your mouse pad. If you are using it for regular uses(surfing the web etc) then this is the PERFECT choice. If you are a gamer it is still do-able. But i wouldnt recommend this to a extreme gamer. After all this is not a gaming mouse pad. The wrist support just limits your mouse's movement. But still this is a great mouse pad.
P.S. This mouse pad's surface is very smooth. You will feel little friction when you move your mouse. Gel Mouse Pad w/Wrist Rest, Nonskid Base, 8-1/4 x 9-5/8, Black
The gel on this mouse pad is super comfortable. It's not those cheap cloth ones. Only thing is that the underneath part of the mouse pad has a sort of sticky-texture, which is meant to prevent the mouse from moving around when you are working on it. I didn't want to take the chance it would ruin the finishing on my desk so I cut out a piece of paper and taped it to the bottom. Works great!
High quality, well made and comfortable. Have gone through three mouse pads with wrist rests
and this is by far the best I have used. Good amount of area for mouse movement with a large firm
but not too firm wrist rest. I can't imagine anyone not liking this product.
This is a great mouse pad if you are a general computer user. I had a gray cloth Belkin mouse pad and because of its shiny surface my mouse cursor would sometimes go flying across the screen making me chase it around and move it back to where it was. I no longer have that problem with this pad. The surface is nearly frictionless too. I never realized how much energy I was expending on that cloth mouse pad. If you are a general computer user this is an excellent mouse pad. Your wrist will thank you. The wrist wrest gently slopes towards the center. The height of the rest is about 14mm high in the center and 18mm high on the edges above the pad surface. The surface of the rest is fairly firm and is a very soft plastic that is extremely smooth in texture. Imagine how the skin of a dolphin would feel. The bottom of the pad is a special surface that will stick wherever you place it so I cut a rag a little smaller than the size of the pad to put under it because I move my mouse pad around quite a bit so the pad slides when I want it to. Overall I couldn't be happier.
This is the best mouse pad I've every owned. The mouse pad is well put together. The gel wrist support is comfortable and just the right height to make clicking the larger mouse easy. I've got to get one for the wife now.
Not sure about everyone else but have I purchased two of these and both have a awful chemical smell coming from them. I have tried cleaning and masking but nothing works. If not for the smell these are pretty good, only thing is the wrist pad of gel is a little stiff and should be not so firm because long use can fell like your wrist is resting upon a solid object.
This is an excellent mousepad with the wrist rest. It is comfortable but firm on the wrist, does not slip around on wooden desks, and most importantly does NOT have foul odor or stench like so many other wrist rest pads do. If you are looking for a mousepad that has a wrist rest and is easy to use while working on the computer or playing pc games, you will not be disappointed.
The mouse pad is very heavy and good quality, but the wrist-pad is a bit firm for my wrist. It tends to cut off circulation. The non-slip bottom is excellent and keeps my pad from sliding on my desk top. All in all, it is a good product for the price.
Just received mine to use on my desk for my laptop. This mousepad is very comfortable, and the grip is very good on it, without leaving any markings on the surface. The gel-comforter itself is very soft and comforting to the wrist, with plenty of actual space to move an average sized mouse around on it.
Can not think of any cons, great pad, and I love it already.
As a copyeditor, my mouse is in constant use. I ordered this product to replace a mouse pad with a built-in wrist rest that I had been using for several years. This one is a huge improvement. It gives me the support I need and is completely comfortable; the mouse rolls easily, and the pad stays put. The size is just right, too! I couldn't ask for a better mouse pad. - Ergonomic - Wrist Rest - Gel Mouse Pad - Mousepads'

Kitchen Appliances - small appliances, vitamix
Before I write my review I wanted to add that this is literally the FIFTH blender we have tried in the last 45 days in our search for something decent.
To date we have throughly tested the following and found them all lacking in one way or another:
Oster 4093 Classic Beehive Blender, Chrome
Waring PBB25 Professional Bar Blender, Black and Stainless Steel
Vita-Mix 1700 Turbo Blend 4500 Countertop Blender with 2+ HP Motor
Oster BPST02-B Professional Series Blender, Black
Now our CBT-700 REVIEW:
The Cuisinart CBT-700 is the latest blender model to be released by the company. It combines the wide glass jar design of earlier models with a new SMART electronics system that provides preprogrammed functions for common uses such as making smoothies and crushing ice.
So far our results have been good, but we have noticed that the jar design does not funnel ingredients down into the blades as well as the Oster Beehive blender we tried. However, since as many other reviewers have mentioned on those product pages, Oster blenders suffer from a serious design flaw in which the drive system snaps in half, it really can't be compared to something that will actually last more than a few weeks. The fact that Oster claims in their product ads that they use an ALL METAL DRIVE, yet the main component of the drive is RUBBER left us feeling deceived. Especially when the machines we tried repeatedly broke down within weeks of receiving them. STAY AWAY FROM OSTER!
Back to the CBT-700...
If the blades used on the CBT-700 were larger and filled more of the jar area, I have no doubt that nothing would work better, but since that is not the case, you may have situations where an air pocket prevents thick contents from reaching the blades. I am still wondering why this design uses such a wide jar, yet incorporates a blade system that is the same size or smaller than many models with narrow jars. ??
The Smoothie feature seems to work relatively well, and we are still trying to determine the optimum mix of ingredients in order to get a smoothie that blends well, yet also ends up with the consistency we want. You may want to use a lower spped after the smoothie cycle is done to get the thickness to what you like.
In that regard, this unit's drive system uses the time tested clutch design common on many other blender brands. The gear material appears to be a synthetic rubber, which we are hoping will result in a long life and no broken or stripped teeth over time. It has a bit more "give" than the hard plastic found in most blenders with this type of clutch drive, and should be immune from the degradation that rubber clutches fall victim to over time.
Based on the unit's overall performance, design and appearance, I am able to recommend this highly blender as a good choice in this price range. Although we preferred the results we saw with the Oster Beehive better than anything else we have tried, the fact that the CBT-700 has already surpassed the number of smoothies made before the Oster broke, means that we have to go with something that will also last us more than a couple of months. On that note, this model comes with a 3 year warranty which is better than anything in this price range!
So... At present time we are planning to keep this one, which is saying something based on how many other brands we were forced to return!
I am giving this product a 4 star rating because I feel that no product is perfect, thus I see no value in rating anything with a PERFECT SCORE. Too bad I am in the minority around here, since it seems most people on this site give everything they like a 5 star rating. Throwing out perfect scores like confetti is hardly helpful for other potential buyers.
If anything changes in terms of reliability issues, I will update this review accordingly.
I hope that you found my comments helpful in your decision making process. :o)
We tried several other blender brands and models before settling on the CBT-700. Previous purchases were wrought with poor performance, cheap materials, or flat out failure of vital components.
The Cuisinart CBT-700 is the latest blender model to be released from the company, having first hit the market in March of 2009. The blender features the wide glass jar of the CBT-500 with a newly designed 6 bladed blade design. The new blade is supposed to be better at creating the vortex action needed to pull the food into the blades for proper blending. It also features a new SMART electronics system that provides preprogrammed cycles for Smoothies and Ice Crushing.
After having been disappointed with the blending action the Waring Classic, we were very pleased with the results we are getting from the CBT-700. I have found that although the Smoothie function works very well, I still feel the need to use the PUREE speed for a few more seconds afterwards to get the smoothie to the consistency I like. Running the smoothie cycle twice would be too much, and this one short extra step is no problem for me.
The blender is relatively quiet considering the 700 watt motor. It is easily the quietest blender we have tried so far and I have no issues with the motor noise. I think those who have complained about this model's motor noise have NO IDEA how much louder competing blenders can be! ;o)
After suffering through the early failure of the Oster Beehive Classic due to a sheared off rubber drive coupler, I was pleased to see that the CBT-700 uses the traditional star shaped "clutch" design used on many other brands. In this case, the clutch is made out of a vinyl plastic that has some give to it similar to rubber clutches, yet immune from the degradation rubber clutches fall victim to after a year or two. Contrary to some of the other reviews, the clutch of the CBT-700 is NOT plastic in the true sense of the word. Plastic is less forgiving and can easily break under stress. Because of this difference, I am optimistic that this clutch material will hold up.
While we are very pleased with the performance of this blender, it does not create a vortex as well as the Oster Beehive Classic model we tried, but since that blender had a serious problem with their rubber drive coupling shearing off easily, we feel that the Cuisinart is the best performer of anything in this price range that WORKS! On that note, the CBT-700 also features a 3 year warranty, which is the best warranty of anything in this price range. The blender is easy to clean and the blade and jar are easy to take apart for cleaning. The lid is also very well designed and we have had no issues with leaking.
Estetically, the CBT-700 is hands down the best looking blender we have tried.
Taking all things into consideration I feel that the CBT-700 deserves a 5 star rating. We have owned this blender for 4 months. - Kitchen Appliances - Cuisinart - Kitchen Appliance - Small Appliances - Smoothies - Vitamix'

Samsung - hdtv, samsung
This review is a little long winded. Skip to the bottom for just the pros and cons. Or, keep reading to waste 10 minutes of your life.
Over the last 5 years, I have been using a 58" Panasonic Plasma TV. Not a bad TV, but not the greatest either. It was only 1080i, it got hot pretty fast (which made the room hot and the air condition kick on too often), and the dimensions were weird (I looked at entertainment centers that should fit a 60" TV, but the TV still wouldn't fit.). I felt an upgrade was in order.
I'll have to admit, shopping for a TV was pretty fun. A lot of work though. The research was overwhelming at times. Websites upon websites, magazines, books, different people's inputs, salesmen trying to sell you different things depending on which store you went to, etc. I narrowed it down to one of many Sony HDTVs or a Samsung C or D series. After narrowing it down to those 2 brands, it was a little easier. I went to about 4 different Fry's Electronics and 7 different Best Buys to check it out in different situations. After that, it came down to the UN55D8000 (boy, did I memorize those numbers). To make the decision easier, I was looking on Amazon, and to my amazement, they had it for $500 less that everyone else, plus free shipping. Score!
With the free shipping, it usually takes a little longer. I would say, from the time the order was placed, until it got to my front door, it took about 1.5 weeks. It came delivered from Home Direct, USA and had no issues with delivery. They were going to set up the TV, but I told them not to, since my entertainment center hadn't come in yet. I opened up the box, put the TV on a soft cloth (our bed's comforter) and installed the stand. Eight screws, piece of cake. I connected the Directv receiver and a PS3. There are a few settings you will set in the beginning when the TV turns on. Takes about 2 minutes, literally. After that, the fun begins! Going from 1080i to 1080p is a huge difference! I had a recording of Chuck on the DVR and it almost looked live. I also watched some regular satellite programming and even the non-HD channels looked amazing.
After wiping the drool off the floor, I wanted to check out the 3D part of the TV. I popped in the free copy of Shrek the 3rd in the PS3, put on the glasses and waited to be amazed. Aside from the amazing colors, it looked exactly like 2D! WTH?! Then, I remember reading somewhere that the PS3 does indeed play 3D movies, BUT with an upgrade. I waited about 30 minutes for the upgrade to finish. After that, loaded up the dvd again, and there was the movie with that funky 3D image. Hey wait, I have 3D glasses on, how come I see that. Oh, oops. Batteries need to be installed in the glasses. Finally! The 3D image was awesome! Seriously, watching TV in 3D is amazing. I can't wait `til there's more media in 3D. As it stands right now, the only real movies in 3D are either documentaries or cartoons, with the exception of a few regular movies (i.e. Resident Evil, Step Up 3, etc.)
I just set it up last night, so I can't give you a whole lot more information. But, even if I did have more time, I don't think I can give you the detailed specs that you might be looking for. I'm not an expert on home theater. Here's an overview of pros and cons:
PROS:
* The lack of a bigger bezel really does make a difference. Not only aesthetically, but in terms of functionality, too (better 3D viewing. It looks like you're looking thru a window.).
* Images are spectacular. Whether it be regular programming, HDTV programming, or Blu-Ray.
* Price on Amazon was very good!
* Delivery was pain-free.
* A lot of settings options, so you can set up the TV to your preference and the viewing scenario (i.e. movie, standard, etc.)
* 3D movie watching is stunning! I just wish Panasonic didn't have exclusive rights on Avatar.
CONS:
* SmartTV is a cool feature. But, not a necessity. I really doubt that I'll Facebook or Tweet from the TV.
* Audio isn't great, but it's adequate. I wasn't really expecting much from a flat screen TV.
* Did not come with the touch-screen remote as was supposed to be the case in the beginning of the year.
* Have to mail in the vouchers (or register online) in order to get the 3D glasses. True, you do get a 3D starter kit with this TV, which has the glasses, but those glasses are a little different and use batteries. Also, you have to send out to get the free copy of Shrek Forever and Megamind. I really shouldn't complain, though, since these are free.
* Needs a more detailed manual on how to use most of the features. The manual it comes with is thick, but it's just because it's the same thing in different languages.
Sorry for the long review. Us Yelpers write a lot of gibberish, don't we?
UPDATE: After playing around with the TV a little more this weekend, I noticed that the top of the screen had some light flickering (around where the bezel meets the screen and it was about 1/16" tall and went almost across the whole TV. I'm hoping it's not the "edge lighting.") It only did this on some channels on Directv. Most channels were fine and Blu-Ray was fine. I'm thinking it's either the receiver or possibly the cheap HDMI cable. I have a Monster M1000 series cable coming in later this week, so I'll switch it out and update.
Also, there has been talk all over online about people having problems pairing the remote. I had zero problem and did it about 5 feet away from the TV.
One last thing, one of the glasses in the free 3D kit didn't seem to work. I changed out batteries and nothing. Then, the next morning, I tried it again, but this time turning off the bluetooth in my phone, and it worked. Whether this had an effect on it, I don't know. But, just thought I'd throw that out there.
BTW, this weekend, I watched Tangled in 3D and played MLB2K11 on the PS3...... WOW! I'll have to admit, I liked 3D, but I thought it was just a novelty. No way. 3D is much different now than when we had those blue and red glasses. It changes the whole experience.
UPDATE #2: Didn't have to do anything to get the line gone. It just went away one day.
Also, I finally got the 3D glasses from the voucher that's in the TV. Unfortunately, they are the 3300s and not the 3700s that I kept seeing from people at CES. I won't knock the rating down, but I am a little disappointed that the glasses and the remote that were advertised earlier in the year didn't come with the unit, nor even thru mail. Also, the charger for the glasses is $199! No, thanks. I'll just charge it using the USB cable. Samsung UN55D8000 55-Inch 1080p 240Hz 3D LED HDTV (Silver) - 1080p - Hdtv - Led - Samsung'

Makeup Remover - face, makeup
I have been an avid eye makeup remover user for 10+ years. I've tried all the products, everywhere from $25 to $2 per bottle. I've been using the Mary Kay remover for 3 years or so but recently ran out and didn't want to wait for my Mary Kay lady to get it to me. I picked this up at the grocery store last week and cannot believe how it stacks up to its competitors. 1) It removes makeup right away - you don't have to wipe and wipe and wipe for a minute until your eyes are raw, 2) It doesn't sting - so many products sting the crap out of your face, 3) It's not greasy - no residue left behind, 4) THE PRICE - you can't beat it for this size bottle! Clean & Clear Soothing Eye Makeup Remover, Oil-Free 5.5 fl oz (162 ml)
I have purchased numerous make up removers from different brands such as Almay, Maybelline, Rimmel, and L'oreal within the past few weeks and none of them are comparable to the Clean and Clear Soothing Eye Makeup Remover!!! I wear black gel liner and kohl waterproof eye liner along my waterline everyday. With the other products, they can't take the makeup off completely. There's still remnants of my mascara and eye liner left. With the C&C, couple swipes and it's all gone! I love this product! ;)
I have been using this product for at least 6 years and I am not even halfway through my first 5.5 Fl Oz bottle! I use this stuff everyday and you need so little that this bottle will most likely last me another 5 years! Yes, it feels a bit oily but it doesn't leave any residue and it actually makes your skin feel softer. You don't have to scrub at all. Just put a dab on your finger and swipe across your eyes/face and it's gone. I highly recommend this product for all ages. It's inexpensive and lasts forever!
All of the other brands I have tried for oil-free eye makeup remover made my eyes sting so much when I used them. Clean & Clear's product does not cause my eyes any pain- I absolutely love it! It does not leave behind any makeup or residue, and it leaves my skin soft and smooth. Thank goodness for Amazon, because I cannot find this item at stores anymore!
I use eyeliner gel. The eye makeup remover I use before, Loreal, is not working good, hard to clean completely. But I bought this product after reading a couple of reviews. It works really efficiently. It feels like Johnson baby skin oil that I used to use for removing eye makeup before. But this product marks oil-free, and it's solely for eye.
I have a very hard time finding an eye makeup remover that doesn't burn my eyes and make them red. Clean & Clear Soothing Eye Makeup Remover doesn't at all. Also, it's not greasy. You don't even have to wash it off after taking the makeup off and it feels like it's moisturizing the skin around your eyes. Someone gave me a sample and I haven't been able to find it in the retail stores. I was afraid it was an older product that wasn't being made anymore. I'm glad I found it on Amazon. - Makeup - Face - Face Wash - Eyes'

Thickness Planer - planers, planer
Planes boards to a perfectly smooth (nearly mirror) finish. Width of finished board is (as far as I can tell with my precision) dead on. I like the adjustments on the side for repetitive cuts (1/8,1/4, .. etc). The cut depth gague in the front is nice so I accidentally don't try to make it take too much board at once then it can handle. Powerful! This planer seemed to laugh at the 10 inch wide oak boards I sent through it. I cut the boards from a tree with a Alaskan chainsaw portable sawmill. Each board needed numerous passes to get it down to nice smooth usable lumber. The blades lasted quite a long time. Changed blades after 20 boards, 10' long, 10" wide, receiving around 5 (on average) passes per side, I just turned around the blades and continued planing. The double sided blades are nice. I had an old 12" delta and as I used to either have to get the blades re-sharpened or throw them out once the single side had dulled.
As always... love the lifetime warrenty
Cons:
The hex wrench that came with it for changing the blades stripped and was unusable almost immediately. It was stripped before I changed the first blade. I actually find it easier to use a standard hex wrench for the leverage. Just have to be careful....
Dust collection is "ok", but I don't expect perfection from my 5.5hp big box store shopvac... Ridgid R4330 Planer, 13-Inch Thickness
If your going to buy one of these units make sure it's the newer version three blade. At some point in the last year or so the design changed slightly and they added a third blade. Home Depot carries these in both the new three blade version and two blade version. Same model number and SKU#. The older vs has a tool box located on the left side of unit, looking at it from the entry side. The newer version the tool box is located under the exit tray. (Heads up)
We have had one of these for about four years. Only used on a couple of projects. The unit works great as long as you use dry wood. We bought some Premium 2x6's at Home Depot and on the third to fourth pass the motor on this unit fried. The so called Premium wood was still to wet for the two blade version Turns out that Ridgid won't honor the lifetime warranty.
Also the dust collection on the older version clogs too easily, even when your using a commercial shop vac system.
I purchased one of these about 3 1/2 years ago and can't stop emphasizing how good the peformance has been, especially at the price. I am a woodworker that builds just about everything I'm asked to. I've been using this planer consitantly, at least 3-4 hours a week for the last year...I cut my own lumber, joint it, resaw it, and plane it with this item.
I too have never changed the blades...not to say that they can't give better cuts if I did, but the fact that they have performed so well (for so long) to this point amazes me. I plane all kinds of woods...pine, douglas fir, oak, gum, persimmons (white ebony), hickory, and alot of cherry and black walnut. Alot of hardwoods listed!
Other reviews don't speak as high as they should due to processes they shouldn't be doing...wet wood is a no-no on any planer. When properly hooked up to a 4" dust collector system, it works great. Maybe a wrench that arrives to change the blades out is junk...but the planer itself is what this review is on. It may not be as powerful as some may have predicted, but for the cost it's awesome, just take lighter cuts.
Best Bang-for-Buck...and FYI, I'm not an employee of Rigid...I am a constant customer of Home Depot.
I've had my Ridgid 13" planer for several months now.. Run a lot of wood through and it works great. However, blade changing time comes along.. Most of the screws that hold the blades have welded in place.. Apparently, the cutter head is aluminum and the screws ( metric ) are steel. Dis-similar metals corrode and seize.. After ruining the cheap tool they send to remove the screws as well as another hardened wrench, slotting the top of the screw, chilling the screw with dry ice and several other methods, I'm probably going to have to grind the screw heads off, remove the blades and then attempt to get the threaded stud out of the hole.. If that doens't work, you replace the $140 cutterhead. From reading reviews, this seems to be a recurring problem..
I bought Ridgid's newest model thickness planer after I had beat the older model to death with daily use for over a decade. The brushes on the motor finally gave on the old one so I got the new one with plans to have the old one refurbished when I have time.
This newest model has plenty of power for me. I make historic window replicas and use this machine almost daily. I bought both machines, my old one and this new one at Home Depot so I wouldn't ever be without replacement blades, even on a Sunday.
So blade change time came and I went to Home Depot only to find out that my Home Depot only carries the blades for the old machine, even though they haven't sold it for years, and only stock the new machine. That leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
But the part that makes this particular machine not worth the money isn't that. It's the blade changing design. These machines are designed to have the blades changed. No big deal. But you have to be able to get the blades out.
The old model used hex head bolts to fix the blades in place. That was a good idea. The new model uses allen head bolts that are rounded over on top. You use an allen wrench to get the blades out. That was a bad idea. Bad idea because if one of the bolts strip out, like four have done on mine, they are impossible to get out and change your blades. I can't get a wrench around it to turn it or anything, not even needle nose vise grips. Such a shame.
Now I have to remove it from the stand and take it in to get serviced, which means serious down time. Oh well. You live and learn. I guess next time I know what else to look for when I buy one of these machines. - Planers - Benchtop Planers - Rigid - Planer'

Video Converter - pc vga to tv converter, video converter
Once you have this hooked up you need to reboot your computer or it won't recognize the TV as a monitor. I was about to toss this across the room after hooking it up to two TV's and switching wires 4 or 5 times. Once the laptop rebooted, worked great. Lake PC to TV Converter Box compatible with Windows and Mac (VGA To RCA / VGA To S-Video)
I bought this to be able to use my non-HD TV as a second monitor so I could watch movies on a larger screen from my couch. This works perfectly. I have a DVI-I output on my PC, which I had to convert to VGA with this DVI-I Male to VGA Female Adapter. Then I used the VGA-to-VGA cord that came with this to connect the VGA to the converter, and a cable like this Cables To Go Value Series S-Video Cable (25 feet) that I already had, from the converter to the TV. I was freaking out until I remembered to plug the converter power cord into an empty usb port. I had a flipping screen image at first, but flipped the tiny, white switches until the picture was clear. I was in business!
The product was shipped quickly and in good condition. I would recommend it for this use. The picture is close to perfect with very little interference, which the instruction booklet says can be caused by too little power or too many electronics in the vicinity, whatever that means.
I got this unit today, plugged in the necessary wires and connections, set the dip switch to NTSC and started watching my computer screen on my analog tv (Sharp 27F543 tv with Macbook 13" v. 7,5).The picture quality was VERY disappointing. Very blurry and bad contrast and color depth. I tried adjusting the controls in the converter. Some change, but still unacceptable picture quality. Some folks might actually find the picture acceptable. I found it very annoying. I packed up the converter and wires and was going to return it to Amazon and write a one or two star review.
Then I got the idea of playing with the computer's display settings and gave it one last chance. Here's what I found. My Macbook automatically set the display to 800x600 at 60hz and standard "VGA Display" color profile the moment the Apple adapter is hooked up. The instructions that came with the converter were no help in trying to tweak the computer's settings to get the best picture. Seems that anything but standard "VGA Display" worked much better, giving much better contrast and color depth, and the blurry picture became much better as well. I then used the converter's controls to fine tune the picture. Now it's VERY acceptable. Same picture quality as with my older Macbook (v. 5,5) with Apple's mini-dvi to rca/s-video adapter.
This box is intended to work with older CRT TVs. It essentially turns your TV into a CRT monitor. If you are trying to connect an HDTV to your computer do not use this box, you will not be satisfied with the picture quality. For an HDTV explore other options (HDMI or DVI), s-video and RCA should be last resorts with an HDTV.
My box came configured for PAL output, if you require NTSC (The standard in North America) the box will not work unless both of the switches are in the down position (as stated in the included instructions). Aside from needing to switch the format to NTSC this worked right out of the box. The picture quality was as expected (don't expect to get monitor quality out of your TV, the picture quality limitations are due to the limitations of TVs not this box).
Making adjustments to the picture was easy. To adjust the picture position use the up, down, left and right buttons with the menu off. Enter the menu to make further adjustments (picture size, brightness, contrast, etc.). As stated in previous reviews, my box does not seem to hold its settings when turned off. If you need to make major adjustments to the picture I recommend purchasing an adapter to plug the USB power cord into the wall.
I found this little product awesome. It was easy to install by following some steps from other previous reviewers. However, I have to add that I still couldn't get it to work properly. The connections were all intact as shown on the instruction manual. What solved my problem was pressing the Fn and then the F8 button to get to work. lol After that it works wonders. Sure the picture quality isn't the best but it's the viewing that in the comfort of my own tv that does it for me.
On a side note, I also purchased a Belkin Audio Y Cable Splitter 1-Mini Plug/2-RCA Plugs (6ft), which allowed me to hear the audio directly from the tv and not from the computer.
Love it!
This product will take the signal from your computer (Mac or PC), and transmit it to your old style television set to be displayed. If you want to watch Netflix on your tv, but don't have a newer LCD type, this is just the ticket. You can't go with just a simple wire adapter, because your computer is sending digital data (0's and 1's) and your older TV needs analog data. This converts the two, which can be a big help. I use this for movie nights all the time in my dorm's TV lounge, and it couldn't be better.
The product itself also came with the wires necessary to make it work. I guess I should have expected this, but in today's world where you buy printers with no cables, who knows. It was pleasant surprise. The cables plug in easily enough, and the signal comes through fine. If you watch a DVD through your laptop to the tv, it won't look as good as a stand-alone dvd player, though. It definitely gets the job done, though. I especially love that the unit is powered not by outlet, but by usb. Great idea.
If you want, you can also get another wire to bring the audio of whatever you're doing to the tv (this unit only handles video). Get an 1/8 inch wire that splits to a red and white RCA ends. These are fairly common. Plug the 1/8 inch jack into your computer, and the two RCA ends to the TV, and you now have big TV sound rather than tiny, wimpy computer sound.
That's about it. I am very satisfied for what I got at this price. Good job no name Tech Company! - Pc To Tv - Laptop To Tv - Video Converter - Pc Vga To Tv Converter'

Camping Lantern - camping, coleman
I bought this lantern because it was small and I like the bright light these lanterns throw, and the coleman hiss for nostalgic reasons. The size difference between this and the larger dual fuel one wasn't clear to me, so I ordered that by mistake first, and returned it at small cost. I like the idea of a case to protect it, anyway.
The first time I used this one, it worked fine. It doesn't throw a blinding light, but a fully satisfying one -- good for its size, I'm not disappointed. Packing it out in the case was the problem; it worked well to the car, but back to the house the bottom fell out, the lantern dropped and broke both the glass and the mantels. I think the sides of the plastic case got compressed in the car packing and that's all it takes to release the base. I'll replace the parts at unknown cost and I'll think twice before I carry it again. Coleman Two-Mantle Dual Fuel Lantern with Hard Case
Great Lantern, had it up and running within 10min of it arriving. Only negative is the case has a real flimsy locking mechanism. Every time I carry it in the case I feel like I'm just waiting for the bottom to fall out. I think it's made more to protect the lantern in storage then for actually carrying it around, despite the handle.
I have been using battery operated lanterns for years and hate spending lots of money and using very toxic batteries in the wilderness, so this is a great alternative with cheap energy source (gasoline).
Just got back from a camping trip where I used this lantern and case. At first, I thought I might have made a mistake in buying this lantern over the Coleman Powerhouse lantern after I unpacked it. It's on the small compact size and I was hoping that it wouldn't be underpowered. It definitely didn't disappoint! It easily lit up our campsite and then some, and since it's compact, didn't take up a lot of room for packing and storing in my garage after we were done. The light is a lot warmer looking than an LED or flourescent lantern and doesn't blind you. The case doesn't really latch tightly on the bottom, I wish they had a better latch system to be more secure. It feels like the bottom might drop out if you were to carry it without holding the bottom. Overall, very satisfied and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a bright, economical camping lantern that will last.
This lamp is wonderful! It cranks out the light just like the ancient one my father had while I was growing up when we went camping. The only problem is the way Coleman designed the case the lamp is protected in. The way the case closes at the base makes it extremely vulnerable to opening up on you and the lamp sliding out while carrying it (as described by previous reviewers).
In my opinion the flaws in the case design should not keep you from ordering the lamp and case set. I use a strip of duck tape across the bottom or a small "Bungie Cord" looped to the handle to hold the base on securely. Hopefully Coleman will check these reviews and redesign the case closure to alleviate the problem of unexpected opening. The lamp is traditional Coleman Quality and worth the purchase! I recommend this lamp and case set.
This is a great lantern, have an older model that is still in use and works great after 19 years. Had to buy another one as the price was to good to pass up, and it is still made in the USA. Highly recomend this lantern for camping or power outages. The liquid gas is much better than propane bottles as it last twice as long as my friends propane.
Good quality lantern. I would buy again but I wish it was a little brighter. If you want max brightness, check out the powerhouse. The main reason I got this one over the powerhouse was the case, which I do like. Just make sure it's latched correctly or it WILL fall.
This is a solid little lantern. It puts out plenty of light and is well constructed although it's a little smaller than I expected. The dual fuel feature is a big plus. One item on my wishlist is the Coleman 295A720T Reflector, Lantern to help redirect the light.
Initially I thought the plastic carrying case was unnecessary since the lanter comes in a good box for storage. However, after our first weekend of using it we had some rain. The box would have been ruined. The downside to the plastic case is that you cant put the lantern in it while it's still hot. After it was time for bed I had to wait for it to cool down (in the rain) before I put it in its case. A vented metal case would be much better. As far as the complaints about the case not latching properly, I can see why it could be an issue. You have to carefully snap the hooks completely in place or the bottom may fall out. This wasn't an issue for me. I can see the snaps wearing out after some use though and maybe some of the case come with bad latches.
If you are looking for a good lantern this may be it.
I got this lantern for Christmas, and I love it. It is EXTREALY robust! The quality is very good (made in the USA). The light it gives off is very bright, so I don't see why you would want to get the PowerHouse lantern (the next size up). If you did you may damage you eyes!
The heavy-duty plastic cover protects the lantern very well. Other reviews said that the bottom piece often disconects itself from the top handle, sending the lantern to the floor and you out shopping for more mantels. Either Coleman has fixed the latch or the reviewers missed something. The latch work fine for me. You have to pull the tab over the other tab fot it to work. If you don't physicly make sure the tab is in, then yes, your lantern will fall to the floor. - Lantern - Lanterns - Camping - Coleman'

Montessori At Home - min, montessori at home
Although there are more and more chartered and public schools using Montessori methods of teaching, most Montessori schools are private enterprises and must charge considerable tuition in order to stay open. If you are in favor of Montessori methods but are not able to send your child to a Montessori school, this is the book for you. The author of this book gives a brief history of Maria Montessori and how she discovered how children learn. It then goes on to describe the methods used, and gives detailed instructions for all the exercises and demonstrations which are used with preschool-aged children. The author also gives instructions for making many of the Montessori materials at home, with common household items or easy-to-obtain craft supplies. Throughout the book she offers many alternative suggestions for the materials which are typically used in a Montessori classroom. For instance, she mentions that a muffin tin can be used very effectively to sort buttons, and that a handtowel may be used for the workmat. Although this book was orginally written in the 1960's, most of the information is still useful today. The cover mentions that it has been updated and revised, but it is not clear what information has been changed in this edition. Still, overall this book is a wonderful resource for frugal parents who are able to teach their children at home, and who want to use Montessori methods to do so. Teaching Montessori in the Home: Pre-School Years: The Pre-School Years
I became interested in the Montessori method while researching different educational styles in order to prepare for what my family's options would be once our twin toddlers reach preschool age. After doing research on the internet, attending an open house at a Montessori preschool in our area, and reading "The Discovery of the Child" by Dr. Maria Montessori, I felt that I needed to find a book that I could use as a guide and would serve as a frame of reference for beginning to do activities with my children that are based on the Montessori approach. This book not only served as an excellent reference guide to how to use the Montessori method at home with your children, but it is well written, easy to follow, and well organized. I particularly like how each activity includes clear directions on how to carry out the activity, the materials needed for the activity, the purpose of the activity, and the learning objective for the activity. I also like how the author included a section on how to make a "prepared environment" for learning in your home, being that the "prepared environment" is one of the, if not the most, critical aspects of a Montessori education. This book is really helpful for someone like me who wants establish an early educational foundation for my children at home and see what suits their needs and personalities before the time comes for my husband and I to decide what will be the educational setting for our children's preschool and kindergarten years.
My mother was an educator who spent the first nine years of my life staying home with my sisters and me. My parents could not afford to send me to Montessori School. Instead, my mother constructed many of the materials described in the book and used them with me. Because of her efforts, I was reading phonetically at 4 in addition to being well prepared for 1st grade math. I remember fondly the time when we spent together with "school" and do not remember any insecurity or feelings of being pushed. I feel I have benefited from a lifetime a learning and self-confidence that has aided me in many of my endeavors. When I became pregnant with twins, my mother purchased the new addition of this book for me. I work full time, but still have found time to make the materials in the book (they are very easy!). I enjoy spending time on the exercises with my girls, who are now two and a half . They also look forward to when he have "school".As an introduction to the world of Montessori; this book has been an eye-opener to me. This book has shown me the beauty of the Montessori Method itself, so much so that my husband and I are considering placing our girls in a Montessori school when they get a little older.I did find the index of toys and materials outdated, as hinted at by the below critic. Some of these toys are no longer manufactured. I find it sad, however, that the below critic finds teaching manners such as cleaning up after yourself outdated. My girls, at two and a half, enjoy watching me and my husband in the kitchen, helping us clean with their child-size brooms and mops, dusting, etc. I want my children to understand that they are a contributor to their own environment, and not to expect such things to be taken care of by maids or parents.I recommend this book to you as I have to many parents of pre-school children.
I was completely ignorant about the Montessori method when I bought this book. My son is almost 3 and as I had become tired of playing with cars and trucks and saying "no" all the time. I was looking for a more engaged kind of play-with-learning that we could do at home. This book is fantastic - outlining many activities and giving a taste of the Montessori approach that will let you decide whether you want to know more (I did!). Many Montessori programs are expensive but this book equips you to do the activities with home made equipment. It also inspires parents to teach their children about everyday activities in a more formal way - eg. my son loved the 'lesson' on how to open and close a drawer properly. He quickly 'taught' his panda and Maisie how to do it noiselessly and showed a great deal of pride in his new ability. What a change from throwing Hot Wheels cars at the wall!
I spent a year agonizing over how I could implement Montessori in my home preschool. Materials, which are so important to the montessori method are very expensive. This guide tells you how to make your own. It is very simple. If you want to homeschool, are trying to figure out how to transition your toddler into a preschool routine, and want them to LOVE LEARNING...try this out!(I went to montessori as a preschooler and I can still remember the way the materials felt in my hands. It is a sensory and movement based learning that is very appealing and residual) - Min - Montessori At Home - Children Books - Homeschooling'

I went from an older Snap-On cordless impact to the Milwaukee and have no regrets. Several people I work with have the Craftsman Lith-Ion Impact and they were very impressed with the Milwaukee as well. 450 ft.lb. vs 300 ft.lbs in that case and for not that much more money. Its a great addition to my tool box! Milwaukee 2663-22 18-Volt M18 1/2-Inch High Torque Impact Wrench with Friction Ring
I have always trusted the Milwaukee brand tools but this one is the best !! I used to have a corded Milwaukee impact with 300 ft-lbs, never had trouble with it, and sold it for almost what I paid for it. On a full charge I went over to my buddies garage to test it out and impresed everyone. First off everyone wanted to play with it, then I changed 2 tires on a Bobcat (the reagular one couldnt even budge the lugs), did a 4 wheel rotation on a van, even striped down a whole truck transmission, and still had two bars left on the battery !!! I definetly would recomend this tool to anyone. The first time you use it to change a tire on the freeway, it has paid for itself !! Milwaukee has a great reputation, awsome waranty, and even has parts available if needed !! Dont buy some China piece of crap likle Kobalt (Kobalt dosent even make the parts to fix the tools !!) buy from an American company !!
Good tool will get almost all lugs loose still not great with the long bolts on benz/bmw....still getting out the long breaker bar for some..overall good tool much better then my dewalt 18v I had previously....
I was a skeptic at first and thought the best you could get had to be a air-based tool but how wrong I was.
I ended purchasing the Milwaukee 2663-22 18-Volt M18 1/2-Inch High Torque Impact Wrench with Friction Ring from Amazon. This little baby was more than capable and a very good contender against any air tool out there. With this tool I was able to rip off the old suspension and install my RC 4.5" X-Series lift kit, pull off all my tires lug nuts, remove and replace all the nuts on transfer car twice without ever having to switch over to the second, included, battery.
Simply amazing! This tool has really changed my opinion of what the newer batteries are capable of. All you skeptics might want to have a second look.
Recently got the 2663-22 Mil 1/2 drive impact wrench. They say everything's a compromise, but I think I made the best choice. It was down to the 2663, the Snap-On 6855 1/2 gun & the Matco MCL18IWVS 1/2 gun.
I reluctantly ruled out Snap-On, only because they STILL have only a few tools that use a lithium Ion battery. I finally ruled out Matco, since, for the price of their 1/2 gun kit, I could get the 2663 kit AND The Mil 2664 3/4 drive bare tool impact--& have $100 left over! I know advertised torque ratings are sometimes exaggerated, but I emailed Milwaukee's tech people regarding how they rate the torque on their guns. They said they stay away from "breakaway" torque testing since the results of that kind of test are too capricious to trust. They only measure stall torque. Very refreshing to hear this. I feel the 3/4" Milwaukee gun is probably stronger than the Matco gun, but I can't get them side by side to compare. The Mil 3/4 gun is shorter than the Matco 1/2 gun, & you can get individual parts for most Milwaukee products. Plus that 5 year Milwaukee warranty. Matco's warranty for their cordless guns are 1 year per my local Matco dealer.
Anyway, I haven't come across a lug nut or fastener that the 2663 hasn't been able to easily remove. Today I put 4 tires on a Ford F350 Super Duty P-U.
So far I love this gun! No air hose to trip over! - Milwaukee M18'

4gb Sd Card - memory card, sd card
I just purchased the Nikon S4000 from Amazon and it was real slow and took FOREVER to save a picture or delete a picture. I was going to return the camera but decided to do a little research and found I had a SLOOOOOW memory card. I did my research and found the Sandisk Extreme was one of the fastest on the market and at the price it was $18.00 cheaper that Best Buy. Got it yesterday and WOW, what an improvement. It was not my camera that was slow, but my memory device (I had a 2 GB Kodak, which gave no speed rating.) What used to take 8 seconds between shots is now less than 2 (on picture review mode, so I can see what I shot)..that is at the 12 Megapixel setting. If I lower the setting it is less than a second. What used to take 4 seconds to erase off the camera now happens in the blink of an eye. Well worth it and I have now been saved the hassle of returning the camera. SanDisk Extreme 4 GB SDHC Card (SDSDX3-004G-P31)
This memory card is being used in a Nikon Point & Shoot. The high speed access allows all of the features of the camera to work without delay. 4GB is the right amount of space for our camera allowing the user to take pictures of an event without worrying about running out of space.
I use this for my own personal camera, and recently purchased one for a nephew who is into photography. Hands down, the best out there. Your camera will no longer be limited by the speed of the card, only the processor within the camera itself. I would recommend this card to anyone with a higher end camera, you'll surely notice the difference.
Ã…fter buying a 4GB SanDisk Extreme 30/MB I compared it with two Transcend (rated 6) and two SanDisk SDHC cards (2). The test was to determine which card(s) were the fastest by determining how long the buffer lasted before it was filled with my Nikon D90. The SanDisk Extreme won hands down. It was clear faster than the Transcend cards (which to no surprise bested the SanDisk SDHC cards by a slight margin).
The 4GB SanDisk Extreme card is obviously ideal for those who crank their DSLR up to maximum speed (frames per second) and I'm extremely pleased with its performance. The additional cost is easily made up by making it possible for me to take photos which would not otherwise be possible when shooting sports. I suspect it would also be a great boon to wildlife photographers shooting flying birds, etc. etc.
Highly recommended. Best money I've spend recently and I own three Nikon DSLRs and a dozen lenses so I think you can see this is saying quite a lot.
The 30 MB/s transfer rate of this Class 10 card is excellent, and it keeps up with the fast burst rate of my Nikon DSLR. If you shoot higher end (10+ MP) images or full HD video (1080p), you'll never have a problem capturing your work. SanDisk makes an excellent product, and I own several of these 4 GB cards as well as a few of the 8 GB SanDisk SDHC cards. If you really want fast transfer rates when uploading to your computer, buy a USB card reader. You'll not experience the full potential of this high speed card if you tether your camera to your computer via a cable.
Extremely fast card in original packaging. The manufacturer's package also included two one-year subscriptions of RescuePRO recovery software, a great feature, though you don't want to be thinking about recovering files just after buying a new card! I bought my card from ABX ProTECH.
After some research, I opted to go with the SanDisk name brand. It works faily similar to slower cards in my camera BUT what a difference when copying files to my PC! It's like lightning speed compared to older SD cards. Make sure you're PC can read SDHC format though, you may need to buy a SDHC USB card reader (I did - SanDisk MicroMate).
My digital camera does not seem to take advantage of the speed while in still photo mode but I have noticed that it is a slight bit faster with HD video recording. I tried 2 Sd cards in two different cameras to test the speed and the outcome was the same, this seems to do a little better keeping up. If you have a camera that can take advantage of the speed in still shots, I suggest this one because SanDisk has never let me down. If your camera is a slower point and shoot, save your money and buy a cheaper, larger card.
Pros: Video capturing.
Cons: Not sure of any yet. Will edit review if card does not last. - 4gb Sd Card - Sd Card - Memory Card - 4gb'
