Black And Decker - black and decker, rotary tools
I haven't used this on any projects yet, but it does seem promising. It has a rigid feel to it and the price is ideal. I haven't used a Dremel brand rotary tool so I can't really compare.
The only negative thing I have to say about this is that the collet nut is pretty hard to loosen once it's tightened. However, I found that putting the wrench against one of the fan blades made it easier to loosen. Probably not a good thing to do, but it does work.
Update 10/14/2008: I have used this on several projects now and it has held up very well. Cuts, grinds, and sands plastic and metal with no problems. The cut-off wheels included are not that great, but you can always get reinforced replacements. Also, make sure to let off on the material you are cutting, grinding, or sanding from time to time so that the cut-off wheels or sanding bands can cool off. Otherwise, the cut-off wheels are more prone to shatter or burn the material when it gets too hot from the friction. If you think you need a rotary tool to get a job done, this will do it and then some. In my initial review I stated that I had problems with the collet nut, but after using it I found it was my own fault. I did not have the locking safety mechanism engaged all the way so I had problems getting the collet nut off. Just make sure the safety is engaged all the way and tap the collet when it is loosened to get the attachment off and you will be golden. I am happy that I bought this for about half as much of a Dremel brand rotary tool. If I could change my rating, I would now give it 5 stars.
Amazon doesn't include a list of the accessories, but it's not their fault. It doesn't even say on the box itself. For those wondering what this comes with:
Rotary Tool - 1
Carrying Case - 1
Woodworking Clamps - 2
Wrench/Flathead Screwdriver - 1
1/8" Standard Mandrel - 1
Sanding Drum Mandrel - 1
Rubber Polishing Wheel (Coarse) (Brown) - 1
Aluminum Oxide Stone Bullet (Brick) (For Grinding) - 1
Diamond Point (For Engraving) - 1
Heavy Duty Cut-Off Discs - 20
Sanding Band (Coarse) - 3
Sanding Band (Fine) - 2 Black & Decker RTX-6 2 Amp 3-Speed Rotary Tool with 30 Accessories and 2 Spring Clamps
First off, I had a hard time getting this question answered when I was looking at rotary tools, so I'll say it right now: ALL DREMEL ACCESSORIES ARE USABLE BY THIS ROTARY TOOL. To someone who's used a rotary tool before I'm sure this is a logical statement, but to someone new to the devices (as I was), it can be confusing. I thought there might be some notch or something in Dremel accessories that made them only usable by Dremel rotary tools, but there isn't. They're all the same.
Now that we've gotten that out of the way, I just got my RTX a couple of weeks ago, and thus far I'm very impressed by it. It looks and feels substantial and sturdy, and fits very nicely in your hand as you work with it. Though I'd have preferred to see fully adjustable speed settings on this tool, the three speed settings seem to allow more than enough versatility in power to handle any project you throw at it. Mine came with a nice, simple case that's about the same size as a 2 cd tall cd book, which I greatly prefer to the extremely large plastic case that most Dremel tools come in.
My only complaints from this unit are that it doesn't come with a very impressive array of bits/accessories (I bought a 150 piece Dremel accessory kit to supplement it), and I've had some difficulty with the locking mechanism that allows for you to switch accessories getting stuck. It's always loosened up after a little persistent encouragement, but it's still a decent sized annoyance when it happens.
I've used a 300 series Dremel regularly in the past, so I feel that I can safely say that from what I have seen from this tool thus far, the Black and Decker RTX is just as capable a tool as the Dremel, perhaps more so (when you take into account the RTX's superior power). That said, it should probably be noted that the RTX hasn't been around for nearly as long as the Dremel brand, so it's durability over time has yet to be tested.
I've got to wonder why someone would pay 2 or 3 times the price of the RTX to get a Dremel... I suppose name recognition has a lot to do with it, after all people do refer to these things as "Dremel tools" not "Black and Decker tools", but that doesn't seem like a very wise way to make purchases. Puffs facial tissue works just as well as Kleenex, generic cotton swabs work just as well as Q-tips, and the RTX works just as well as a Dremel tool, so why pay the premium price?
If you're looking for the most bang for your rotary tool buck, this is the one you want to go with, hands down.
Bought one as the Dremel was selling for more $$ and I only needed a rotary tool for a very small home project. Having used a dremel brand before, I was cautious about not overheating the unit by having it bog down on tasks. Well that wasn't a problem with the RTX. Didn't realize that it had more motor juice than Dremel until using it. Lots more torque makes it easier to control. Good value.
Edit: Recently purchased the little jigsaw attachment sold by Dremel. I was told this unit really taxes the power out of a dremel unit due to its gearing system and application (i.e. dremel never designed for this type of task). Well the unit fit perfectly on the B&D and the power really shines with this attachement -- I can slice through wood like butter without any bogging down of the unit. Incredible.
I own a professional model shop, and although we occasionally use a Foredom (this is a motor with a cabled handpiece--very powerful, and with a foot pedal speed control, quite easy to use, except for the darn cable) we mainly use Dremel "rotary tools." I've gotten used to them lasting less than a year. They are not in constant use--a week may go by when none are used, but we have several because all of a sudden three people may need to drill tiny holes, or use small burrs, or?
One of my employees came in with this B&D and I was impressed. I ordered one for our shop, and now there are three. It's been less than 6 months, so I'm not sure about longevity, but the oldest still seems solid. There is no external brush replacement like there is on the better Dremels, but I don't know if this is an issue, as generally, the Dremels were dying before the brushes were worn down to replacement status. One of the problems with the Dremel design is the location of the cooling vents--it's hard to hold the Dremel comfortably and not block many of the vents, so the tool overheats.
The B&D is better in this regard, though still not perfect. Balance is good, certainly on par with the top Dremels. Power seems similar. The speed control may be a bit less specific (although there are intermediate settings between the three marked speeds, so this is actually better than expected. Quieter than the Dremels, seems to run a bit smoother. I like the lever lock for the collet change quite a bit too.
Overall, I am very please with these roto tools. Especally at about half the Dremel cost, they are a definite best buy. - Corded - Rotary Tools - Black And Decker - Dremel'

Carbon Monoxide - home safety, smokedetector
We live in a 4 level split home. Our gas furnace is on the lower, 3rd level. Two years ago we had several smoke alarms, but only one carbon monoxide detector on the top, bedroom level of our home. One early Saturday morning we awoke to the voice of this alarm broadcasting, "WARNING! CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTED!" over and over again. I got out of bed and took the batteries out of the unit. By then my then 16 year old daughter came out of her room and was watching me. I told her to go back to bed, but she asked me why we weren't going outside to our designated emergency spot. I thought I was being a bad example after all the years of telling the children to get our of the house if an alarm went off. I didn't think there was a problem. I assumed the unit was broken or needed a new battery. I wasn't thinking clearly. So, I put the batteries back in to see if it would go off again. It did. She again asked why we weren't following the rules and going outside, so we left the house and called 911.
When the firemen arrived I kept apologizing for calling them to our home for an obvious mistake. I thought the firemen would tell us it was a false alarm. It wasn't. The heater core had cracked and was leaking carbon monoxide. The levels were high enough to make us confused, but not yet put us to sleep. Had my daughter not watched me handle the alarm I would have gone back to sleep without ever putting the batteries back in. We were very lucky to have my daughter and this CM detector.
The voice made everything so much clearer than just a siren. If it hadn't said "carbon monoxide" I would have left the batteries out and gone back to sleep because I couldn't see any smoke or fire and I was tired. I don't think I would have thought about carbon monoxide. It was well worth every penny. I now have CM detectors on every floor of my home. This talking carbon monoxide detector helped save my families life. Kidde KN-COSM-B Battery-Operated Combination Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Alarm with Talking Alarm
After looking at the excellent ratings for this product, I purchased two units and installed them - one each in the bedroom and the utility room. One day, I was getting the toddler to sleep when I smelt smoke and something burning. Upon exiting the bedroom (which has one detector), I noticed that the house was full of thick black smoke from a "microwave cooking accident". There was no fire. The fact that the smoke detector did not go off bothered me and I did a bit of reading on the detection systems. Turns out that there are two detection mechanisms - ionization and photoelectric...and to cut a long story short, one needs to have both types of mechanisms in operation. The manual of this product pretty much says the same thing on page 6. However, it does not tell me which smoke detection technology the unit uses - information that I can use to purchase a different smoke detector with the other mechanism to compliment this one. I can only know how good this product is when it responds to something that triggers it. It did not pick up smoke that I picked up by smelling, and the documentation is inadequate. That is why I give it a one.
I've installed installed two of these Kidde brand combination smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in my elder parents home. I have one in my own home as well and have found them all to be reliable and trouble free.
What attracted me to this model were its many features:
First, it has a low profile, attractive and unobtrusive design.
Second and perhaps most important, it has a voice speaking function that, in addition to the 85db alert horn, will speak out clear warnings: "FIRE, FIRE" or "DANGER: CARBON MONOXIDE". I think that this feature is a terrific addition toward modern life-safety technology. Indeed, you will likely see more voice warning devices in the near future.
We rely on these detectors to warn us, especially at night when we are sleeping. Awakening to this detector from a deep sleep helps orient you quickly by telling you the specific danger -- clearly and unmistakably. Notably, recent studies have shown that children can sleep through traditional smoke detector alarms, but will respond to voice warnings -- which this unit provides. Thus, placed in or near bedrooms this device can be a true lifesaver.
Another favorite feature is ease of installation. It was a breeze and truly could not be simpler. A screwriver is all you need. A small power drill/driver would speed the process, but is not necessary. Two screws into the ceiling or wall and you are done with the mounting bracket. The detector then just clicks in to place with a clockwise flick of the wrist. This is a do-it-yourselfer's dream. It doesn't get any easier!
Battery maintenance is easy too as all you need do is turn the detector counter-clock wise a few clicks, and down it comes. You slide open the battery cover, take out the old batteries and pop in the new. Replace the detector back in the attached ceiling bracket, give it a slight turn and in it goes with a firm click. Done! Easier than screwing in a light bulb.
Finally, the price is right! Under $40 for a unique life-safety device that is quickly installed and easily maintained.
I have elected to use Energizer lithium batteries and replace them every 12 months -- with no problems. You may wish to change the batteries every 6 or 9 months. Duracells would also be a good choice. I personally would not use the cheaper, so called "heavy duty" batteries in a life-safety device.
I should add that I would also suggest that if you have a home with multiple levels or an apartment with several rooms, having a separate stand-alone carbon monoxide detector elsewhere in the house as part of a total home plan would be a wise investment. Kidde also makes a fine combination model that protects against Carbon Monoxide and Explosive Gas. That unit, which has a digital display, runs on electricity and has a battery back-up system. It plugs in any electric outlet and can stay in the wall socket, or it can be placed flat on a table or dresser.
I would also recommend Kidde's dedicated dual sensor photoelectric/ionization smoke detectors. These dual sensor devices provide maximum warning under fast or slow moving fire conditions. As one never knows what kind of fire could occur, these are the most versatile.
Be sure to test your alarm regularly. REMEMBER that most carbon monoxide detectors NEED TO BE REPLACED about every five to seven years (see manufacturer's guidelines). Similarly, smoke detectors have a useable life span as well. It's usually a little longer than carbon monoxide detectors -- check your manufacturer's guidelines. - Smoke Alarms - Home Safety - Smokedetector - Kidde'

I am a math teacher who uses white board markers everyday. I always used Expo markers in the past. They work well, but leave "ghosts" on the board. Some Expo markers are also very smelly. This year, I ordered Crayola instead. I have NEVER needed to use my whiteboard cleaner to remove the "ghosts" left by Crayola markers. They have virtually no smell. The only downside is that they don't seem to last as long as the Expos that I used in the past. Crayola 8 Ct Dry Erase Markers Chisel Tip
As a teacher, these are the best dry erase markers I've found. The colors are dark, the markers last a long time, and they're easy to erase. As for the complaints saying they don't erase easily, try baby wipes. These markers are so much better than Expo.
These markers are tough and durable. They remain moist even if left without their caps for a few hours. One word of caution: they don;t fit in the slots on the crayola kids activity board. Not a big deal, but I probably should have searched harder for the thinner ones that do fit. I liked these colors though, and the chisel tip is fun to draw with.
I bought these wipe erase markers because my son got an easel with a wipe erase board and I thought the Crayola name meant an easy clean up. I was wrong! Many of the hues.. red, orange and purple to name a few.. left traces on the board that took serious elbow grease and wipe erase cleaning fluid to remove. Luckily he never got it on his clothes as I expect that would have been a nightmare! We replaced this set with the large Expo set which not only cleans up better, but has a lot more colors.
I teach fifth grade. I purchased these to brighten up the white board. I want the marker to be low-odor and have bright, bold color. Out of the package, the markers lacked bold color. It was as though they had been used for a month. I will not purchase these again--I'll go back to Expo. They are low-odor.
I bought these markers for the easel my children got for christmas!!! These were the suggested markers to buy from the instruction manual that came with the easel. My boys are having a great time with them. I am teaching my oldest son to write his name and his alphabet using these markers on the easel. They are just the write size for him, he still doesn't have the best hand coordination when it comes to thin pencils and pens. I greatly recommend these to anyone looking for some dry erase markers.
I purchased these to go with a play school set that I purchased for my granddaughter. Even though I read other reviews that said that they were hard to erase, she has not had any problems with this product and also has not had to use a wet wipe or anything else other than a dry napkin. She likes the variety of bright colors and the chiseled point, my daughter likes the fact that they are Crayola, her favorite brand and even tried them herself.
We purchased these to use with the Melissa and Doug easel. They work great and our 5yr old is able to handle them without difficulty. We love Crayola products and have always been satisfied with their products.
These are great as dry erase markers, but they stain clothes permanently!! I would have thought any Crayola products would be easy to clean/wash, as they are primarily used by kids. Nope - I've tried Shout and bleach, and the stains don't budge! These might be ok for older kids, who can be more careful, but if you have a preschooler or toddler - watch out!!
I bought these thinking that if anyone knew how to make a good child's dry erase marker, it would be Crayola. I was wrong. You have to scrub the board with cleaner in order to get these off of a dry erase board. My son accidently wrote on the board with some washable markers and those wiped right off, while these markings stayed on. I recently got some Melissa and Doug dry erase markers that wipe right off with the eraser. These are going in the garbage. - Childrens Art - Creativity - Dry Erase - Educational'

Outdoor Furniture
We ordered this set and received it even before they promised it. We love the furniture, it is as nice as it looks in the pictures. We got the set and noticed that 2 of the pillows had a slight difference in color. I'm sure it was different dye lot in the fabric. I contacted them and they sent out replacements right away. the replacements got here even before the original due date. This is a quality company. Genuine Ohana Outdoor Patio Wicker Furniture 8pc Gorgeous Couch Set
Delivery and service were fast (ahead of schedule) and courteous. Patio set is nice but kind of light and may not survive windy days. If you are a tall person then you may have problem with siting up and down on this set. It is kind of low. When open packages, I noticed that there was a missing cushion seat. Really don't know why they did not check the packages before shipping just as previous buyer's feedback. Did call them back and the missing cushion seat was delivered on the next day. Over all, it's ok for the price. Just have it for a few days so I will update my feedback in a few months from now. Genuine Ohana Outdoor Patio Wicker Furniture 8pc Gorgeous Couch Set
I spent the better part of 2 months looking for patio furniture for a new paver patio we put above our pool. I found similar sets here on Amazon and at Costco and local retailers for $3200+. The price seemed excessive.
I saw this set and added it to my wishlist and kept hunting. A few weeks later I went to buy, but it was on backorder (seems quite popular). I viewed it again 2 weeks later and it was on a new backorder - so I purchased. The price + free delivery was unbeatable.
The site warned of a potential delay in shipping on the purchase page, but it arrived a week earlier than the estimate - so I was quite pleased. Although the delivery was free, it comes via freight - they called the day before and were fairly flexible with scheduling (but would not do it before 8am or after 5pm - so I had to take time off work). The driver also didn't want to put the items in my driveway (they come on a LARGE palatte which he was going to leave in the street) but after I asked nicely, he did put it in the driveway.
PROS:
1. The furniture is lightweight and sturdy and the cushions are very comfortable.
2. The sectional is flexible in how it's configured (ours is set up as a VERY long couch.
3. It comes with clips to hold the pieces together when you have it in the configuration you want - they seem easy to remove and set again.
4. The furniture looks GREAT (we get comments on it all the time).
5. The cushion covers are removeable and washable.
CONS:
1. The back cushions don't stay on the furniture well. There are no ties or other ways to bind it - I'm probably going to try some velcro and if that doesnt work, sew some ties into the back cushions to keep them in place.
Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase - and love the new furniture.
Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. If you're in the market for some patio furniture you probably already know the prices for such a set, locally, will run you much more than the amount that this set is currently listed. So, the big incentive on this purchase is its price point. There are other sets with higher quality materials that can be purchased, but I am happy on the aesthetics and quality (so far) of what we received, especially for this price. No disappointment there. I think R Mackey's review is a good one and I agree with on all points outlined there. One additional comment is that the cushions seem to hold on to water for a while. We had a couple bad storms last weekend and 3 - 4 days later some of the cushions still have a considerable amount of water trapped within. Aside from that, still very happy with the purchase. The customer service was especially note worthy. We had a couple cushions missing from the shipment and they sent those out to us right away. Additionally, because of the size of our deck, we decided another corner piece would fill our space better. I contacted them and they added an additional item on Amazon so we could purchase it separately. They did a great job at handling these requests. With all that, I would recommend this item to a friend or family member.
VERY PROFESSIONAL COMPANY, DELIVERED AND EVEN CATERED TO MY NEEDS SINCE THE TILE AT MY PLACE WERE STILL BEING DONE, THE MADE SURE THEY CONTACTED ME EVERY WEEK REGARDING WHEN I WANT IT DELIVERED. SPOKE TO A GUY NAMED SCOTT, VERY COURTEOUS AND PROFESSIONAL. NO PROBLEMS AT ALL WITH THIS COMPANY, I RECOMMENDED THIS TO MY FRIENDS WHO WANTED PATIO FURNITURE. WILL DEFINITELY ORDER FROM THEM IN THE FUTURE. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.
I was expecting this item to be wicker and was a bit suprised when it showed up that it was a resin (Kind of like soft plastic) material. At first I was disappointed but after using the furniture for about a month we truly do love it. For the price you couldn't beat it. I did read one review that said the cushions slip off of the furniture. We thought the same thing at first, however i think the cushions have neoprene in them and so they take a minute or so to settle in. During this time you feel like the cushion is slipping, when in fact they are not. Once they settle they are quite comfortable. Overall we are very satisfied with this purchase.

Audio Accessory - ear buds, sony
I use earbuds for two to four hours every day. In the past ten years I've purchased many, many different brands in search of the Holy Grail of earbuds. The three biggest problems that I have with earbuds are fit, sound quality, and longevity.
Fit - Many earbuds are simply too large to stay comfortably in my ear. I'm not a little person. I'm six feet tall, one hundred eighty pounds. Even the famous iPod earbuds are too big, and some people think they are some of the best quality earbuds available. Large earbuds are uncomfortable and they won't stay in your ear. I really like these earbuds because they fit comfortably and they don't fall out.
Sound quality - These earbuds have sound quality that is equal to or better than the most expensive earbuds that I've ever purchased.
Longevity - The biggest problem with most earbuds is that the very fine copper wire near the plug eventually breaks inside the rubber insulation due to repeated bending of the wire during normal use. This causes one or both of the speakers to lose connectivity intermittently, and eventually permanently. Every set of earbuds that I have ever owned has eventually failed in this manner, but these earbuds have lasted longer than any earbuds that I have ever purchased. I am still using the first set of earbuds that I purchased over a year ago, and that is just unheard of for me considering the use and abuse to which I submit my earbuds.
Buy these earbuds and don't look back. All of those fancy, expensive earbuds with hip sounding names and slick marketing and high prices do not offer any better performance than these. Sony Mdr-E10Lp/Blk Headphones - Fashion Earbuds (Black)
I fall asleep listening to the radio. Unfortunately, my wife is kept awake by said radio. Enter the use of earbuds. I have been through more pairs of various brands of earbuds than I can remember, though my wife would claim I wouldn't remember more than one. I recently purchased two pairs of these Sony earbuds and am extremely pleased. Their shape allows me to identify the correct channel for each ear in the dark. The cord is longer than most which gives me a larger leash to move around the bed without yanking the earbud out of my ears. Sound quality is much better than the radio I am using. And most of the time, its even comfortable to have the earbud in my ear while laying that side down on the pillow.
If I were rating these earbuds solely on the sound quality as it relates to the price, I would give it a solid 5+ stars...without a doubt, the best "bang for the buck" out there at $10 or less. I gave them 4 stars only because the fit isn't perfect. If they tapered the earbud at all and these fit better, I would go to 4.5 stars because I know that some of the real high end earbuds deliver a very rich sound and might deserve a 5 star rating.
I have purchased dozens of different lower quality earbuds under $100...and I have tried dozens more higher quality earbuds...and I would challenge anyone to find earbuds with better sound quality at a price even remotely close to the price of these earbuds. I have small ear passages and they do not fit particularly well, but what the heck...I use them on the train while commuting...at home while relaxing...or maybe in the car or at the beach. I don't use them to run, exercise or leap tall buildings in a single bound...so I don't have to worry about them falling out. I know fit is a big sticking point in many earbud reviews and rightly so. However, let's face it, the most important quality with any headphone or earbud has to do with sound...and these earbuds deliver.
I can't believe the bass is so rich. There is no tin like sound when still and the sound is not affected when moving the wires. The main wire is plenty long, as are the earbud wires which are also of equal length. I own an IPOD Classic which I take everywhere...watching movies and videos and listening to ALL different music genres. I believe the best setting with the best bass and overall sound on the IPOD is R&B...with Rock a close second. I will also add that even though the fit is not perfect in my ears, these earbuds do a fairly decent job at blocking out external noise.
I need a good sound when listening to music or it just isn't that pleasurable, but I am not dishing out $200 or more to constantly worry about something going wrong with my expensive purchase and then wrestling with Company X to get a refund or have them replaced. I am considering buying a pair of Denon AH-C751's or AH-C700's on Amazon for less than $100...both regularly $200...but I have yet to take the plunge.
So if you are in the market for an expensive pair of high quality and rich sounding earbuds, but are hesitating for one reason or the other...or if you just don't want to spend a lot of money and the fit doesn't have to be perfect...then I recommend buying a pair of Sony Fashion Earbuds to hold you over until you find the "perfect" earbuds or hit the lottery. These buds may not be the perfect fit, but the sound quality is sure to win you over...and who could possibly have a problem with the price!
I will say that I am on my second pair...the first pair lasted just over a year. At less than $10, I am not complaining! - Earbuds - Sony - Ear Buds - Earphones'

3 Buckle Watchband - brown leather cuff
I bought this on a whim because it looked just like the one I had back in the early 70's. When it arrived I was amazed that it's EXACTLY like the one I had back then. Whoever makes these things has the "blueprints" from the original. It's identical - Oh, and it's kinda cool too. :) Wide Black Leather Cuff Wrist Watch Band Rock & Roll
I have worn watch bands like these for years.I was told recently , "I noticed your watchband and that was how I recognized you ".
As far as "quailty" of this watchband , the leather straps are about half as thick and the buckles are rounded on one side.
The thickness of the strap makes putiing your watch on easier , however I expect it will wear out sooner.
As hard as these are getting to find.I will order another one,to have when it wears out.
I am 47 and I know that prices go up , and quality goes down. I really should give this 5 stars and say 100% great.
If you wore one "back in the day" ,you will be happy with this one.
My husband has worn this type of watch band for many years. The only changes in this particular one is the buckles. They are rounded now and make it very difficult to buckle. He gripes about it every morning while putting on his watch.
Other than that the quality is great.
This is a great wristband for a watch. The price is reasonable - buy this one though, because they have this EXACT SAME wristband under another name if you search for it under the "watch" category for $5 more. But anyway, this is definitely badass. Just get a cheap watch and put the actual timepiece part onto this wristband and you'll have a great watch. I'm not a watch person at all, but I now wear this every day. Great product. - Brown Leather Cuff'

Remote Outlet - light switch, wireless remote control
Having purchased similar items from another manufacturer in the past, I was surprised to find that the item ships batteries not included. The range is also noticeably less than that of the competing product that I have purchased- I usually have to click the button two or three times just to switch the lights across the room. Also, the oversized outlet takes up two plug spaces. On the plus side, the product is much cheaper than competitors, considering that you get separate control of three different outlets with one remote. With the competitor's product, you'd have to buy three packages and juggle three remotes, so if you want separate control of multiple outlets from one remote, this is definitely the way to go.
UPDATE 2/8/11 ------------------------------------
This product didn't last very long before it stopped working. I'd recommend other alternatives. There's a reason this product is so cheap relative to the competition. Remote Controlled Switch Socket - 3-Pack
What a wate of money. I mean I kind of knew it wasn't going to be what it should be because of the cost but hey, totally useless? You have to be within 6-8 feet and have the remote pointed perfectly inline at the base units reciever which is almost impossible in any normal usage. Let see...the normal plug outlet is down by the floor and usually has furnature surrounding it. No other remote I have in my house has to be so accurately lined up at such a close distance. Heck, the #2 unit didn't work if you were farther than 2 feet away!! Now what kind of convenience product is that???
I threw mine in the trash and chalked it up as being stupid for buying it.
This product has great set of features, but they are all worthless for me, since the range is the worst of any remotes I've ever used. New battery (not included) gave me about 20 feet and not even reliably, far less than advertised. If it's for just across the room then fine, but they should have advertised the range honestly.
Remote requires nearly direct line of sight to the receiver-outlets. The units and remote feel cheap and clunky. For some reason (perhaps frequency related) only one of the receiver-outlets works at a decent range (+3 ft). I have all three in the same small room, but two of the receiver-outlets I've never used just because you have to walk over to them which negates the need for a remote... The remote usually requires holding down a button for a few seconds and waving it around in the air until my one working receiver gets the signal and turns the lamps on. I've had it for a couple years though and the battery is still good and I still use it for my lamps on the one receiver-outlet that works well (waving the remote around). Its not all bad (especially the price), but I don't feel any price is worth the aggravation of this product. I would not buy this again.
I have owned and used two sets of these switches for over a year. At first I was skeptical about the quality/reliability of the product due to the low price. I didn't get them from Amazon because I found them elsewhere first (with batteries, for $14.95 per set). At first, I was annoyed by having to push the buttons several times to make them work. Sometimes one click worked and other times it took a few tries. Well, when all else fails - read the directions! It says to wait about 5 seconds between button pushes to make them work! Bingo! Occasionally, a switch will misfire and require another push and if you don't wait a bit nothing happens. That's a bit quirky but easy to get used to. Overall, I can't complain about having five remote controlled lights in my living room for $30 and I have one left for a replacement if/when one fails. My entire electrical system is solar powered and since it's tied to the grid (my meter runs backwards when the panels are producing more than I'm using) I can use all the electricity I need. I'm conservative about my lighting and energy use in general and being able to control the lights from my easy chair makes it possible without having to sacrifice convenience or adequate illumination. I have used the more sophisticated remote control system like the BSR X10 and the Radio Shack knock-offs and they work but at $15 to $25 per module they can be quite expensive and take some time to setup. These switches are a no-brainer and well worth the price if you don't pay more than $15 to $25 for a set of three.
P.S. Radio Shack is the most expensive place on the planet to buy replacement batteries from. Shop around and a keep a spare handy so you don't have to pay through the nose when you need it.
Purchased this item from another source, but I have to say that it is THE WORST product I have come across. While it does function, you have to be within a few feet of the receiver for it to work. I bought 2 sets of these, so thinking the first set was bad, I tried the second...same thing.
After wasting my money on these, I had to go out and buy two expensive model 23a 12-volt batteries (NOT INCLUDED) for the remote controls. Upon putting these units into use, I tried to simply turn on the light in my living room, and got nothing. After much troubleshooting, thinking that I had done something wrong, it finally worked... I was standing right next to the light, not more than 3-feet from the outlet. If I moved any further away, I got nothing.
These are great if you stand next to the outlet to turn on the light, but why? It would be just as easy to reach under the lamp shade and turn it on that way... Don't waste you money on this garbage!
I'm disabled and found it distressing to have to painfully get up and down over and over every day to turn lights on or off when no one was around to help me, as well as disconcerting and dangerous to awaken in a dark room and have to feel my way to the nearest lamp or light switch. My husband looked for something like this for me 3 years ago and got these. I've been using them ever since and they've changed my life. I've used that same set ever since and it's worked beautifully since Christmas 2006. Unfortunately I recently dropped the controller into a cup of milk and it stopped working, so I came to Amazon to get a replacement set ASAP. Now that I have them again I decided to come back and get a second set. I need to add at least one more for a small air purifier I want to be able to turn on from either the living room or the bedroom (whenever a neighbor and his 3 teens are home smoking enough cigarettes to make my condo feel like a pub...) and may add my dining room hutch light to the second one. I have also noticed (without knowing why) that my electric bill went down and has remained less than expected month after month for at least a couple years now - after reading reviews from other satisfied users I think I know why, so that's GREAT! We got some for my mother as well last year and I think they were a great help while she was recovering from a broken hip. Both of my sets have had no trouble ever with a range of 3 feet to 30 feet. A note to folks about the battery distress you're having - my husband has had ZERO problem finding this battery at many closeby stores: King Soopers, Wal-Mart, Radio Shack & Home Depot just to name a few. They're easy to find but last a good long time. I don't even remember ever changing the one in my first set of super switches. This item is a God-send and I'll always have a set handy here to help me out dozens of times a day. - Wireless Remote Control - Light Switch - Wireless - Remote Outlet'

Wow, I love this song. Although when I first heard it, I didn't get hooked. Then I went over to Vevo.com and watched the video and ever since then, I've loved this song. This song will/should make you want to get up and dance, even if you don't know how. Vocals are great, music is equal, and they time the "catch" beats to get you dancin! This song should be a title song in one of the dance games on the game consoles (Wii - Just Dance or Xbox360 Dance Revolution)!
This song is geared Pop. It's also a tribute to Mick Jagger (Rolling Stones). F'in gr8 song, def recommend! Moves Like Jagger
"Moves Like Jagger" is sonic proof that Maroon 5 has IMPROVED over the years. In the beginning, Adam Levine&his cohort attempted blue-eyed soul with the nasally "This Love." Their "Songs about Jane" was pretty lame. They've hit high notes- so to speak- with "Misery", and "Moves Like Jagger", for all its controversy, is great. Christina Aguilera, making a comeback from her meh "Bionic" album, is wonderful as Adam Levine's duet partner. "Moves Like Jagger" is EXCELLENT!
The first couple of times that I heard this song, I absolutely hated it. But then I started realizing that it was going through my head constantly, and it was pretty catchy. So I gave in, and just started enjoying it. Not really a surprise, I like most of Maroon 5's other stuff, so this one just kind of fits in.
I cannot write a review on music because it is different for everyone. There is a preview on amazon and the full version is on youtube. I am giving this 5 stars because it is upbeat and makes me want to get up and dance! Christina Aguilera singing in here is a plus for me!
I can't get it out of my head I'm so happy it's on sale yay! itunes suck! Amazon so Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I always get great deals here love it! "moves like jagger" I have no idea who jagger is lol but the song is Awesome!
Whoever was behind the creation of this song and the blend of Adam & Christina deserves a raise. Not only is the tune a great pop song, it's one of the best of 2011. Listenable, entertaining, and bouncy, "Moves Like Jagger" can make anyone move.
Hopefully, for their sake, the two singers can have a career as long and legendary as Mick and company.
This is the second song from Amazon that I've downloaded that had objectionable words or lyrics in the song. This is definitely not a "clean" version that you might hear played on radio stations. Amazon needs to be more descriptive about the songs they have available for download, whether or not they have anything that might be objectionable to some.'

Cordless String Trimmer - battery pack, 18v
This battery is great for home workshops, but is useless for construction sites or any commercial application. When the temperature is below 50 the battery will not charge! The old ryobi batteries charged any time no matter what. Ryobi 130429001 18-Volt 2.4-AMP Hour Li-Ion Battery
Yeah, they're expensive (and I don't agree with the reviews that give them one star because of the price: You're supposed to be reviewing the product, not the price!), but in my opinion worth the money. I've gone through about 8 of the NiCad battery packs: those start losing capacity right away and after a month or two of regular use you're back to charging them up twice a day. These lithium batteries go all day and more, even with heavy use. Combined with the nifty gauge, you won't find yourself up on a ladder or roof with a dead battery anymore (something that's annoyingly common with the NiCads in my experience).
These new Ryobi batteries are excellent.
* They power both the old and new Ryobi tool lines.
* They last provide more power (i.e. the tools work better) to both the old and new lines
* The charge from these batteries last much longer than the old batteries
* They also seem to keep a "full charge" and not lose the ability to fully charge like the old batteries did.
If you need to rely on your tools, you need to rely on your batteries. So far these have been great batteries and make the tools much more reliable.
Like others I started with the NiCd Ryobi ONE+ system and have multiples of many of the tools. I found the biggest drawback to the Ryobi NiCd (and most other NiCd batteries) is self discharge (after several months of use a charged battery would be completely dead after just a few days and needed recharging before it could be used). So, after buying another Ryobi kit with two Li-ion batteries I bought a third and was initially very happy with the results. Like others I didn't really see much run time difference and can't tell there's that much net weight difference, but I did (and still do) like the shelf life as there are few things more disappointing to me than picking up a cordless tool only to find the battery is dead. So far so good.
Now here's been my experience with these after 1-2 years of having them:
1) the charger starts reporting a defective battery and eventually reports each of my three batteries as defective. Fortunately unplugging and restarting the charge (sometimes multiple times) usually corrects the problem. This is certainly a relief compared to my DeWalt 36v batteries that just plain won't work once the charger says it's defective. Still it's annoying to leave a battery on charge to come back when you need it only to find that it hasn't been charged.
2) of the three P104 batteries I own, two are now 'weak'. Let me describe that. When running any tool (drill for example) the wind up is slower than the 'strong' battery and the torque is less. The weak batteries all seem to have about the same charge life though I haven't really done an experiment to confirm this. The fully charged unloaded voltage among the three are almost identical with a digital voltmeter, so I can't really explain the loss of torque other than maybe the internal resistance of the battery has increased.
Bottom line: These are pretty good grab and go battery/tool combinations for light to medium duty applications. The bateries are not perfect, but they are OK.
If I could give ZERO stars, this would certainly earn zero stars.
First the Li-ion charger. These things put out so much RF interference that you literally can't listen to AM or FM radio in your shop while charging a battery. Also, if you leave the battery plugged into the charger and remove power from the charger (mine is on a manual wind timer to save electricity) the charger DISCHARGES the battery in short order. I exchanged my first charger for a replacement, same exact problem. It is the design. I contacted Ryobi, they basically ignored me. I even emailed the FCC. Another joke but on a different blog.
Then there's the One+ Li-Ion Battery. My first one would run a tool for approximately half the time that the old Ni-Cad batteries would, then quit SUDDENLY, so I thought it was defective. I took it back to Home Depot, they exchanged it, and the new one was about the same. I decided to just keep it and consider it a lesson well learned. It soon failed altogether.
Wake up Ryobi. You have some good cordless tools, but you've laid an egg with these batteries and chargers. You need to not only fix the product, but fix your customers by recalling these things and replacing them with something that works.
I am a Ryobi fan. I have lots of their gear. The Li-Ion batter is (performance wise) a large step up from their previous 1+ battery. However, both of my batteries died two weeks after warranty expiration. Replacing the two batteries is very near the cost of another kit. (Which is how the sales guy sold me on the kit). Maybe it's like razor blades. - Battery Pack - 18v Battery - Lithium-ion - 18v'

i was hesitant because it was REFURBISHED but when i ot the item it looked brand new with all the anti scratch shipping tape on the screen and keypad. my dad needed a new phone that was slim and easy to use. ive had the razr v3 before myself so i knew it was a great candidate. the screen is average size, what sold me was the beautiful light up keyboard for hiss aging eyes. the phone came with a battery, car charger, and ac charger just like a brand new phone. believe it or not when the razr came out it was top of the line and sold for $500 without a contract. i got it for $44 shipped so i cannot see how u can go wrong. some people cannot operate smart phones and thats the way it will always be. so big ups to amazon, the seller, and Motorola for keeping such a gem on the market. Motorola RAZR V3 Unlocked GSM Cell Phone Featuring Bluetooth Compatibility, VGA Camera, Quad-Band GSM (850/900/1800/1900)and 30 Day Warranty (Black)
The phone is in good condition and works well. However, the seller did not ship with car charger as advertised. Another purchaser had this same issue. I don't expect to see one coming even though I complained to seller already.
The battery discharged without any use over night.
It's NOT a Motorola OEM battery.
It's a good looking copy but Motorola OEM batteries are made in Japan, not China.
An OEM battery will most likely not have this happen.
They are available from Motorola at $41.00
Glad the phone was cheap.
the phone works fine. i got it as a "Cheap' replacement. but i should of looked longer. i have found various other phones that are better in price and technology. V3s are old with few options. the there is no t9 and the battery life sucks. i would not spend the money if i were you.
I always hesitate when something is refurbished, but I could not tell that this item was not new when I received it, it looked like it had never been touched. It works perfectly (bluetooth, speaker etc) and I have had no problems with the finish. No complaints here!
Looked great when I got it. Paint has since worn off in areas. Battery life so-so. Speakerphone hard to hear. Small screen has developed what can best be described as a pink "cataract." But glad to have a nice phone that works, without having to renew any sort of contract. - Unlocked - Motorola - Razr V3 - Att'

It's a typical sewing pattern with good instructions. Like all sports jackets it's a little difficult, but if you read the instructions it's quite doable. I was very pleased. It's expensive to purchase such a jacket already made. If you can sew and you want one of the prince charlie jackets then this is your pattern. As far as I know very few pattern designers sell patterns for men and this is the only prince charlie jacket I ever saw! It's not bad looking either:) Prince Charlie Jacket and Scottish Kilts Pattern for Men and Women
The pattern arrived in a timely fashion. Some of the instructions were a bit confusing to follow, but we were able to work it out with some thought and failed attempts. The final product turned out beautifully. We only made the woman's kilted skirt. The pattern for the PC looked to be complete - Scotland'
