Bicycle Accessories - recumbent bike, exercise bike
INITIAL IMPRESSIONS
The A20 is the replacement for the Active Series 20 and Amazon has now corrected their product description to show the correct information for the A20. I haven't seen the Active Series 20 so I can't really draw a comparison and trying to get comparison info (I was trying to decide which one to buy) from the sales staff at Schwinn was impossible since the person I talked to hadn't even seen an actual working model of the A20 (let alone sat on one) and his information was limited to that which was presented on the website. I decided on the A20 since it did appear that they tried to make some improvements plus there's the issue of being able to get parts if needed in the future.
I received the A20 yesterday and both my wife and I have used it once. I will update in the future.
SET UP: There are very few parts to deal with plus all necessary tools were included and this was a pleasant surprise. I laid them out and checked then against the list given in the assembly instructions before starting assembly. Everything was present. I was able to put it together by myself but having two people would be a nice option. It took about an hour to put it together and the instructions were easy to follow with words and diagrams.
FIRST TIME USE; The seat adjustment was easy which was nice since I share the use of it with my wife (I'm 5'9" and she is 5') Both of us had an easy time using it so height wasn't an issue. Some of the new items included with this new model were the water bottle holder (which I don't use) and a book platform which is now part of the lcd platform (doubtful I will use it but if you do, you'll need a way to keep the book open as it rests on a fairly shallow lip). It also has an added built in fan and I agree with the previous reviewer that it's totally useless unless you stick your face within a couple of inches of it (what were those engineers thinking???)but at least you can turn it off. The lcd panel still doesn't have back lighting which was a complaint with the Active Series 20. I'm not sure if the newer one differs in size but it's okay to read with at least some light (window, lamp, etc). The lettering isn't very bold on the lcd which makes it a little more difficult in low light. A fairly easy solution would be to attach a book light to the lip of the book holder. The operation during use is very quiet and with solid stability. The seat and back are padded and was fine during my initial use. The resistance levels were very easy to adjust as were the different courses. The monitor takes 4 D size batteries(not included) but there is an optional power adapter (9v,500ma) you can get from Schwinn for about $25 (including shipping) Might be worth looking into this or some generic adapter and saving batteries and bucks.
This was my first time on a recumbent exercise bike and I loved it. It did exactly what I was looking for in an exercise bike. I think it's a great exercise bike and the price is very reasonable. One reason I bought this bike was because of the Schwinn name (I think Nautilus owns Schwinn and Bowflex)and so far I'm not disappointed.
4 stars because of the lcd (lack of bold lettering and back light)and useless fan. These are very minor complaints which don't affect performance.
UPDATE 5-20-2011 - I've now been using this machine for a few months and without problems. There was a brief time when it made a small weird clicking noise coming from the pedal assembly but this stopped after awhile and hasn't been heard in weeks. Still a real mystery. Much of my previous review still holds. My biggest praise is for the ease of use and seat adjustment along with with the overall durability of the unit. Mechanically is does what it's supposed to do and very quietly (excluding that brief period previously noted). My biggest gripe is the display panel. It's often difficult to see in low light because primarily of the small lettering (although some back light might also be helpful). Hopefully Schwinn will address this issue in later models and thus make this model truly worthy of 5 stars. Schwinn A20 Recumbent Bike
The bike was easy to setup the first time I put it together excepting that it didn't work. The bike did not respond to the control panel. The exercise-programs didn't work at all. It took about 80 minutes with Nautilus Tech Support on the phone to take apart the central part of the bike- the middle factory-assembled piece with the pedals, flywheel, and magnet-positioning motor. The technician concluded that the positioning-motor or the cable to it was bad. I was sent another motor. It was sent 3-day Fedex. I installed the motor. It didn't work. I called back. The new technician thought it was the control panel (called the console) and she sent that 3 day Fedex. I was worried that the bike would never work, so I chatted with Amazon and they told me that I would be given extra time to return the bike because I was working with the vendor. As mentioned in some of the other feedback, the replacement console solved the problem. (By the way connect the motor to the console and be sure it all works before re-installing.) Luckily I took photos of the bike as I took it apart. Because I had replaced the motor I had to re-adjust three different nuts to bring the bike into alignment. Whew! It all works great now. Maybe I should have just told the technician "I can't take the factory assembled piece apart," do you want me to send that piece back? But even that would have been a lot of trouble. Maybe it just doesn't make any sense to buy big things over the Internet.
I ride it every night. It is very sturdy and dependable and it also does not take up too much space. Sitting in this position riding for 30 minutes is a pleasure. It is quiet so I can ride it at night with out aggravating my wife. The levels work perfectly.
All the important stuff works great but you can forget the fan and the heart rate indicator. The fan can only be felt 1 inch from the surface. The heart rate indicator was way off in my opinion. For example, I am riding it now as I type with over 20 minutes on the timer at a decent pace. According to the monitor presently my heart rate is 78, just not possible.
Also, the laptop/book holder is okay for my small laptop. Typing is difficult right now but I am usually playing chess while I ride so that is not bad. Continuous typing would be painful this way. Additionally, I am 5'4" and could never use this for reading. it is too far away and at the wrong angle. I do highly recommend and feel like it will last a long time. - Stationary Indoor Bike - Schwinn 240 - Recumbent Bike - Exercise Bike'

Cheap Ipod Charger
The USB cable looks and feels very similar to the apple one, but the chargers have a somewhat cheesy feel. Then again, that's totally to be expected when you buy a whole set for less than half the price of a cable or either charger alone from Apple or one of the name brand companies.
I also should note that the AC adapter is 100-240v compatible, so it can work worldwide. I was wondering about that when I bought it because none of the tech info mentioned it. In fact, the casing itself was designed to be used with the EU style plugs, and that's why it protrudes from the body of the case.
Also, the items I received look like the submitted picture, and not the MFG's picture, for what it's worth... Doesn't matter much because in any case the items aren't very aesthetically pleasing anyways.
Bottom line, from reading the other reviews it looks like they have QC issues, but I wound up with a perfectly functional set at a great price. Apple iPod USB Travel Kit with Car Charger, Travel Adapter & Cable
The car charger worked great. I could charge my iPod while listening to it. I'm currently trying to use the Travel Adaptor, but so far it's not working. I'm trying to discover the problem. It's not the cord, because the cord is working when connecting the iPod to computer. So, I can't really say anything about how the travel adapter works. But I give the car charger 5 stars. It gets the job done.
edit :: i actually got it to work. it works great. you just have to wait a second for your iPod to display the charging symbol.
Guys,
Do NOT EVER buy this product. I lost my Ipod Nano(8gb) because of this cheap nonsense. As soon as I plugged in the charger into the wall outlet, and connected it to the nano, the charger blew a fuse, and had smoke coming out of it. My nano didn't start after that. No matter what I tried. I took it to apple store, and they couldn't start it either. My warranty was void.
Go for real apple products, not for these cheap chargers. I'm not sure if this company BargainCell is selling authentic products, or just cheap makeovers without ever having tested them out.
Again, do not buy it, unless you want to risk losing your ipod.
The charger worked once. When I removed it from the wall electrical outlet an electrical spade just came off in the wall. These items are so cheap that they break the first time it is used. I wouldn't buy this item again.
so cheap. how could you *not* buy this? it screwed up my ipod after using it for a few weeks. now i have issues powering down my ipod. it won't turn off. weird. i've heard this complaint from others, too.
Great product to have for you ipod.
i own an ipod touch 3G. the wall wall adaptor is awesome. I was skeptical when i saw hte price, but the product is awesome
Don't buy the expensive wall adapter from the apple store, these ones works great and usb cable that you get with this product is awesome too.
so stop looking around and buy this.
So far, I really like the charger. The thing I like the best, is the convenience of not having to find a computer to charge My I-pod. Another good feature of this charging unit, is that it doesn't reset the play count(on the I-pod), just because I'm recharging. I recommend anyone with an I-pod to get one of these. My opinion, they are a "MUST-HAVE" type of item for anyone with an I-pod. The price is Phenomenal for such a necessary accessory for any I-pod Nano. I'm very pleased with this product, and the charging time is rather quick. I would appreciate a "Fully-Charged" indicator lamp that can be seen from a distance, to make aware of a full charge, and is ready to be UN-plugged. I would imagine that it'd be a bit extra in cost for such a feature, but I for one, would be willing to pay for it. As long as it isn't an "exorbitant increase", that is. Again, all and all, a pretty good, and necessary product for anyone owning an I-Pod. Too Redundant? Sorry....'

Ridgid - rigid, lithium-ion
Ridgid has stranded thousands of customers of its combo tool packs that use the RIDGID 130377001 24-Volt Li-Ion Battery.
The Ridgid tools are wonderful, strong, and light to use, but the batteries are not worth anything as they fail (loose their capability to hold a charge) very quickly.
Ridgid didn't do their homework on these tools, and all I've gotten from Ridgid and Home Depot is a run around on my requests for help. RIDGID 130377001 24-Volt Li-Ion Battery
I have 4 , all self discharge in 1 month and their actual performance is worse than an 18v battery , even medium loads it will shut off. At least I have a lifetime service on them, these ,outside kits do not.. A 3 year warranty is the worst in the industry as well. Very disappointed. Ridgid cordless is a dressed-up DIY low end tool line. Read on forums on how may issues occur in even trying to get parts or replacements. Sorry I ever started buying them.
I never write reviews but I feel compelled to write this one. I bought this 4 piece set in 2007. Almost immediately the flashlight did not work and one the batteries crapped out. I used this set for alot of projects around the house but with one battery it was never easy. I bought ridgid tools because al of the plumbing tools were always top notch but their power tools are not the same. If I could do it over again I would take Dewalt in a heartbeat.
I bought the 3 piece set when they first came out and then i bought the saw The Hammer Drill has more power than my milwakee corded drill I only have one regret that i did not register them but its not given me a problem at all its the very best cordless set i have ever bought and will not have to buy another one again hopefully and I got them on sale they where less than the 4 piece set that came out a week later now I have been asked by every person wher i bought it and home depot does not carry them now so I can tell people to order this from Amazon They always come through
I bought the 4 Piece combo set from Home Depot back in 2007. Since then it has been used exclusively (not as a backup for corded tools) in numerous projects including the construction of a 3 stall garage with 2nd floor storage room, 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and 3 decks. The 24 volt LI batteries are about the only thing that provides power that even remotely matches a corded tool. Under heavy usage like repeated plywood cutting, or hammer drilling cement blocks in order to tapcon studs, it does drain battery rather quick, but as long as you have the spare battery charging, you should be OK. The second one invariably charges by the time the one in use drains. The key is to avoid the temptation to have both batteries in use on different tools at the same time. A 20x40 shed was hemlock sided (went through about 7000 decking screws) over 2 days by my contractor using my Ridgid XLi when temperatures were well below 30F this February. Not bad for 3 year old batteries. I got the Lifetime Service Agreement when I bought the set and I hope they keep on making the batteries for a few more years, so I can get replacements when they die (which they will do eventually). If I can get a set of replacements, I should be good for another 5 years or so, I'd think. Best $300 investment in power tools I have ever made.
"Ridgid" makes very good products & I'm impressed with their line of 24 volt cordless tools...the batteries provide ample power but ;ofcourse, being rechargeable they only last so long (about 2 yrs.). If well maintained you may get 3 yrs.+. Make sure to "register" your batteries & ask for "lifetime battery replacement" from "Ridgid", if you buy a "combo kit" it comes w/lifetime "repair & replacement" of the tools & batt.'s , a very good thing to have if you use your tools as I do (construction), daily use! Ridgid is right up there with Milwaukee & Dewalt...even Hilti. - Lithium-ion - Battery Packs - Rigid'

Gold Toe Socks - wool socks, over-the-calf
Do your feet a favor and lose the cotton socks. Go for wool whether winter or summer, and your feet will stay dry and comfortable. OTC is a must because it prevents flesh exposure when you cross your legs, and it's the only length that stays up. Gold Toe is the only brand I buy because the toe is bullet-proof. Other brands develop a hole in just a few wearings even with closely trimmed nails. Gold Toe Men's Windsor Wool Over the Calf Dress Sock, Black, 3-Pack Sock Size 10-13
I purchased these socks after my Lands End ones ALL developed holes at the heel. Therefore, I was a bit concerned when I first opened the order and found thinner socks than my last ones. I was anticipating holes again and that they would fall below my calves in a matter of weeks. However, it's been several months and so far so good. They are keeping their shape well and are not as hot as the Lands End variety.
I've purchased dress socks from Land's End and Jos A. Bank and they're very good, but at $25-$35 a pair, a bit pricey. The gold toe wool dress socks are not quite as thick, and probably not quite as durable, but a great value nonetheless. Highly recommended, very comfortable socks.
Update: After wearing them for a couple of years, I find them to be of very good quality. They don't pill and are very durable, even though a bit thinner than what I was used to. They are now my brand; I will buy nothing else.
If you have a shoe size between 9 and 11, these socks should fit you fine. They do an excellent job staying up and are good quality.
On the other hand, if you have feet larger than approximately 11, I would beware. Though the company says these socks have a foot size range from 6 to 12.5, after six months of laundering the heel is pretty much under the arch of my size 13 foot. I thought I'd be alright and the socks are not even close. - Socks - Over-the-calf - Wool Socks'

E-book Cases - kindle 3 cover, kindle covers
My husband has an M-Edge cover for his older version Kindle and it was so great that I immediately pre-ordered the same type of cover for my Latest Generation Kindle. I received my Kindle before the cover became available and despite a few meanwhile scratches on my Kindle, it was worth the wait.
The cover is such great quality and really feels like real leather. The finish is nice and not at all cheap. The inside is a great faux-suede and the straps that hold the Kindle are not at all flimsy. The difference between this cover and the cover for the other Kindle version, is that this does not have those hooks in the binding that snap into the Kindle. This is great since some people had complained about those clasps damaging their Kindle (although my husband has had no issue with them).
Another great feature with this cover is that the binding is more flexible and for those of you that like to bend the front behind, this allows you to do that without damaging anything. The cover is slightly padded which provides great protection and a quality look.
Like I said before, I waited several weeks for this specific cover to become available because I was not as impressed with the others. And, comparatively, you can't beat the price! M-Edge GO! Kindle Jacket, Purple (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle)
Who cares if this cover is not made with leather! Yes, it's expensive but if you want a nice looking cover to protect your device, this cover works great! Fits the K3 perfectly! I feel safe that the Kindle will not fall out using the four-point mounting system. I am glad this cover does not use a hinge, I don't want my Kindle to potentially crack because of the case. Hopefully the cover holds up well, so far I really like it! When I travel, I want to be sure the kindle is extra protected so I place it in the Case Logic Nylon Kindle Sleeve (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle), Black. Very snug with the M-Edge cover on but it works great!
I originally purchased the Amazon (non-lighted) Kindle cover which has been the subject of much concern that it is causing damage to the Kindle. Not wanting to risk my new toy, I returned the Amazon cover and purchased this one instead.
It sounds obvious, but before buying a cover please give some thought to how you will use the cover and what "features" you need (or don't need). In my case, I travel by air frequently and was looking for an inexpensive, basic cover, without a light, lightweight and compact. The M-Edge Go meets all of my requirements (my wife on the other hand will throw her Kindle into the Pandora's box that is her purse and needs additional padding and a fully enclosed case).
The cover fits the Kindle like a glove and I particularly like that the Kindle is attached at all 4 corners instead of just two points (like the Amazon case). All Kindle buttons are accessible. Other reviewers have complained that the cover is not leather. Honestly it is difficult to tell and a casual observer would assume the cover is leather. The manufacturer claims that the outside cover material is durable - time (and a few international flights) will tell but my initial impressions are of a well made product.
So far, no complaints - very happy with my purchase.
Update Jan 5th 2010: I hadn't even made to an international flight and have run into a quality issue. The interior suede has come apart from the outer shell in one corner. This after less than two weeks sitting on my bedside table. To avoid the hassle of returning the item I have (hopefully) fixed it using superglue. If that doesn't work I'll return it for another. However it is very disappointing to see after such a short time. I have reduced my rating from 5 to 3 stars. I still really like the form factor and light weight.
Update Apl 24th 2010: The glue worked a treat and I have taken this cover on 20+ flights already this year. It really is holding up and looks as good as new. Still looks like a leather cover. I am feeling generous and have given the cover back a star.
I liked the way this M-edge cover looked online, and pre-ordered it. Honestly, it didn't even dawn on me that it wouldn't be leather because my 2nd gen kindle cover was leather. (Thanks George from Grand Rapids, I hadn't even realized that it wasn't real leather until I read your review!) What I do like about this cover is that it is light as a feather and I can still use the m-edge light that I had bought for my 2nd gen cover, with this cover. I really didn't want to spend another $25 bucks on a reading light.
I really like the Kindle, but still prefer to hold something that feels more like a book than a tablet. This cover fits the bill. My only disappointment was the color (fuchsia). On line it appeared more like a darker red, but in reality it is closer to pink. On the other hand, it does make the kindle easier to find. Mine has no issues with the retaining bands not holding the Kindle securely as some have reported.
PROS:
- Thin & light.
- Well constructed.
- Very comfortable to hold. If you like the feel of a hardcover book then this one's for you.
- Not leather (important for those who want to avoid animal products).
CONS:
- No pockets, but that would also make it bulkier, and the K3's battery life is so good that there is no need to routinely carry the power cord with it.
- A bit pricey. - Kindle 3 Cover - Kindle Accessory - Kindle Covers - E-book Cases'

Hand Tools - nails
First of all, this book happens to fall EXACTLY in line with one of my life and bank account enhancing hobbies, the history of nails and nail pullers. I could NOT be more biased going in to this ambitious book...I am the creator of the Nail Jack, the 21st century answer to a nail pulling hand tool, so this book was a dream come true. The research was relevant, the illustrations copious, but please Mister Fredrich, why not more historical narration? Surely you have so much to share with like minded people out there in what must be a small niche, so give us that wealth of knowledge! Come out with your next book much stronger on historical anecdotes and interviews with these great resources, from the companies to the employees to the inventors to the families. It's a great start, but please...follow this one up! Nail Pullers - Nails'

I'd seen the October Sky DVD at the local video store, but avoided it--I imagine because I didn't know much about it and because I'd read it was just a "family" movie and figured it wouldn't be very interesting. Well, I finally rented it, and now I see why so many of the reviewers here have raved about it. I won't go into the story--others here have. I'll just say that October Sky is simply a wonderful story, and it's very well told in this movie--script, direction, and cast are all first rate, the photography is beautiful, and the score evocative. It even captured our thirteen year old son's attention--not a small feat for a movie with a PG rating. My guess is you'll be thinking about Coalwood, West Virgina, and its people for a while after seeing this movie. (I should add I ended up buying both the DVD and Rocket Boys (also published as October Sky), the book on which the movie is based. The book is great, too.) October Sky (Special Edition)
Not everybody will like this film. Three people out of the one hundred and seventy five reviewers here didn't like it. And fifteen more out of the remaining one hundred and seventy two gave it three or four stars, leaving one hundred and fifty seven who thought this an absolutely great movie against eighteen who didn't.So I think I'm safe enough to say you'll like this movie even if reading about it doesn't make it sound that exciting. The bottom line is that this movie is so very human. The boys who are obsessed with rockets are normal, every day boys sparked with enthusiasm about what can be done. They are following their own stars, their own sense of what is right for them, against the opposition of those who don't understand. And so, there is a story for each and every one here, a very real story about following your own star, not somebody else's. Yes, it's a feel good movie, but it achieves this through the power of the true story, not out of viewer manipulation. Very highly recommended.
Do you feel constrained in your job? Are you an unhappy student? Then this movie is for you. I first watched the rental and I was deeply touched and inspired by it. I right away decided that this movie is worth owning, so I bought myself a copy. I don't regret it. Every time I watch it, it makes me re-evaluate my life and inspires me to go after what I value most. It makes me realize that I, too, can do what most people will tell me is impossible. It inspires me to keep trying and keep dreaming. You must own this movie so it touches and inspires everyone who visits your home.
With the Cold War brewing and the launch of Sputnik, paranoia captured America in its tight little grip. There were exceptions. A quartet of boys in a West Virginia coal mining town discovered their love of rocketry. Sputnik inspired them to develop their own rockets and launch them out in the wilderness. With the help and inspiration of a sympathetic teacher (Laura Dern), Homer (Jake Gyllenhaal) fights his tough father (Chris Cooper) who wants Homer to get his education and then become a coalminer just like him. Ultimately Homer achieves his dream but not before conflict, an arrest, lack of support and lack of funds try combine to try and undermine those dreams.
An intelligent and involving period drama, October Sky overcomes the pitfalls of dramas of this sort; Director Joe Johnston creates an involving, suspenseful story about a town with myopic vision and fears and a boy who dreams far beyond the reaches of the town to the stars. Gyllenhaal (The Day After Tomorrow) gives a stirring and confident performance as Homer. The entire cast particularly Chris Cooper and Laura Dern in major supporting roles add a sense of gritty reality to the film preventing it from degenerating into a "based on a true story" TV movie. Colick's screenplay doesn't take the easy way out here; he portrays Homer's father as an unsympathetic hard man who loves his sons but doesn't want them giving into pipedreams so he doesn't support them.
October Sky looks as clear as a perfect, cloudless moonlit night with rich blacks and nice color reproduction of the original theatrical film. There's some minor artifacting (this appears to be the same digital master used for the 1999 DVD release although it appears for the first time in the higher definition format of anamorphic widescreen) issues but, on the whole, the film looks particularly sharp and vivid. The 5.1 mix and DTS soundtracks both sound crisp and sharp with the edge going to the DTS soundtrack which tends to be fuller and with a wider dynamic range than the 5.1 mix. Both soundtracks use the surround speakers well particularly during the sequences when the boys are setting off their rockets.
Although this is the same digital master as last time, we go get some new special features that might make this worthwhile to fans of the film. There's a new documentary Aiming High: The Story of the Rocket Boys featuring interviews with Homer Hickam and his compatriots from West Virginia who inspired this story and Hickam to write his book. The documentary primarily focuses on Hickam and his leap from rocketry whiz to a position working for NASA. The original extras are also included. There's a Spotlight on Location featurette which, essentially, is a glorified promo for the film that showed on some of the cable channels. There's also production notes discussing the various people involved in the production from the actors to production crew. The theatrical trailer, which highlights the art of trailers in the way it summarizes the story but also why this film was a difficult sell for audiences, returns on this edition as well.
Homer Hickam does a great job separating fact from fiction in his commentary track. Surprisingly, the film remains accurate for the most part to Hickam's book and the few times it does divulge from reality it's usually for dramatic reasons and Hickam acknowledges that it does make dramatic sense. Although much of the action seems telescoped most of the action that occurs in the film (with a few exceptions) accurately portrays what occurred during the time frame of the film. Hickam notes those few exceptions and also gives the reasons the filmmakers decided to alter his story.
A marvelous story, October Sky features a number of strong performances. The new extras including Hickam's commentary track make this a worthwhile addition for fans of the movie. The better picture quality along with the new extra features will make this a worthwhile addition for fans of the film. - Jake Gyllenhaal - Drama - Chris Cooper - Dvd'

Keyboard Skin - dust covers, keyboard cover
I just received my keyboard cover and I must say, it's perfect. I was nervous because the reviews were not so great but my skin fits my keyboard flawlessly, all the keys match up, and it is not stretched out or anything. The shipping was very fast. I placed my order very late Thursday night, it shipped on Friday, and I received it the following Wednesday (Monday was a holiday and the mail didn't come Tuesday due to a snow storm). My Macbook looks great. IVEA Macbook keyboard Silicone skin cover for New Macbook - PINK
I was really excited to get this hot pink cover. But they send me a used one! It doesn't totally fit the keyboard because it's a used product and it's stretched. The hot pink looks really nice from the picture they post online. But it looks really cheap on the actual product! Honestly, don't waste your money. I'm an art student and am really sorry for this cheap industrial design product!
I recently bought a new macbook and am determined to keep it looking great (why pay so much money only to destroy it). I'm notorious for getting crumbs in my keyboard, so this was the next logical step. It fits great on my keyboard, muffles the typing sound, doesn't slow my typing speed down, and works great. For the price, I'm totally satisfied.
I just got my keyboard cover and I love it! I have a white unibody macbook (the newest one) and it fits quite nicely! The only thing that might bother some people (if you are particular or a perfectionist) is that some of the keys don't match up to the grey lettering on the keyboard but its super minor (unless you're the type to sit and stare closely at your keyboard). At first, it didn't quite fit around the edges of the keyboard but after stretching it out just a little bit, it's perfectly fine and stays in place. The color is as pictured, it is a hot pink color! I was pleased since I've seen reviews on other pink covers in which they weren't really the color pictured. And you can't go wrong for the price either! This is super reasonable compared to others I have seen. The shipping was incredibly fast and came within 5 days of ordering it. I would definitely order again from this seller!
I got this pink keyboard cover for my new macbook 13 inch and it is totally awesome! I love it. It fit perfectly! Its not only protective but super cute! I'd definitely recommend it anyone with a macbook!
I found out about this because my friend had the blue version of this on her computer, so when she told me how cheap she found it on amazon, i had to check it out. I was a little bit put off by some of the bad reviews, so let me just say that it fits my keyboard FLAWLESSLY, and even if at some point it stretches or fades and i need to replace it, uh hello? it was like 3 dollars so who cares! absolutely buy this product if you want your mac to have a cute keyboard cover, while protecting it from spills and dust
The keyboard cover is excellent. It does it's job of protecting the keyboard, and it also allows you to type quietly. It fit perfectly and it does not hinder your typing. If you are looking for something stylish and affordable, this is the product for you. I was very satisfied with it. Pretty color too!
I got exactly what I was looking for. The picture matches the product perfectly. I had no problems with the protector, the shipping, or the billing. I highly reccomend this dust protector for your MacBook!
I love this product - the plastic fit my computer keys perfectly, and it's so nice to know I don't have to worry about spilling coffee on my beloved mac. (Also nice to know my 2 year old can't do as much damage either!)
Plus, the color exactly matches the Hard Candy shell I purchased simultaneously.
Would definitely buy this again. - Keyboard - Keyboard Cover - Macbook - Dust Covers'

I bought this little item a month back when I decided I needed more cards for my Jetbook. I've read reviews that it tore etc, and all I can say is, you may have been trying to shove too much into this. The plastic sleeves are the same as what your picture holders in a wallet are made of, and is actually pretty strong. I have mini SDs in their holders, and several 256 cards with my books on them. Nothing has ripped and it holds 16 cards very neatly. But it will NOT fit anything larger than a SD card. No CF cards or anything like that. So, if its used as it is meant to be, this is actually one heck of a deal. Memory Card Carrying Case, Black
I use a lot of SD cards and thought I would try carrying them in one neat little case. This is a good idea except that it is made of very inferior materials. The first SD card that I inserted ripped the thin vinyl pouch right down the side. The slots are three different sizes so if you use only one card type as I do then you can only utilize one third of the case. Cheap price? Yea. You get what you pay for.
Very nice memory card carrying case. Size is approximately 2x4 with padding on both sides of case. Zipper and stitching very durable. Comes with 12 slots to fit SD or SDHC (I have 8GB cards) and also comes with 8 slots to fit larger cards. Plastic/vinyl material for slotted insert reminds me of a wallet photo insert.
The only thing it could have is a hook or key chain, which is not important to me, but may be for others.
I highly recommend memory card carrying case.
I read the other reviews and bought one anyways. It is pretty good for the price, but the plastic pages are about like the ones in a wallet to hold your pictures. I didnt have any tear, but I was much more satisfied with the pelican memory card holder case that I bought, but it was more money, but was worth it.
I wanted this case because it looked nice, would hold a lot of cards and would be something handy to have on my vacation. So far, it's exactly what I needed. I read some reviews about the plastic tearing, but I had no problems with it. Maybe it was a problem they resolved by using stronger stuff, because mine seems to be very sturdy.
I only saw one one star review for this item, but since I thought the idea was so neat I decided to try my money on it. I purchased it and it came in the mail promptly.
I have had no issues with this item and would recommend it to anyone looking for one.
Vinyl sleeves are so thin that you'll likely tear them before ever successfully inserting a memory card. Outer case and zipper are quite thin and poorly constructed as well. Save your money folks and put it towards a nice case logic carrying case. A few dollars, more, but well worth it. I'll use this as a business card case if it doesn't fall apart before I get them in.
I use very many SD cards for photography and so far this is my fave card holder. The pockets are clear so there is no guessing which card I am pulling out. The pockets are also a nice size, I don't find myself "fishing" them out after they have slid to the bottom of a one size fits all style case. The case is durable and attractive as well.
I really like this little carrying case. The pockets are only big enough for the SD cards themselves. If you are looking for a case where you can keep the SD cards in their plastic protective covers this isn't the case for you. But, if that's not important than this case is great for being able to carrying a lot of cards. I do a lot of photography and this case carries 18 SD cards.
It was hard for me to find a simple carrying case that wasn't outrageously expensive. This fits the bill. I have memory cards for my computer, camera and my video camera. This keeps them together nicely. - Sd Case - Memory Card Wallet - Sd Card Case - Memory Case'

Inkjet Printer Ink - canon pixma ink, ink
Get the XL cartridges, not the regular PG-210s. According to Canon you get almost 2x more pages, for < 40% more money.
What does that mean? I emptied out my regular 210 cartridge within 1 month of rather light usage on my new Canon MP240 printer. The XL cartridge now in it is < 1/2 full but going on 6 weeks.
Soon 3rd parties will be selling replacements, but I got some OEM Canon carts for $9@ from sellers here on Amazon. You don't have to pay full price. Canon PG-210XL Cartridge (Black) in Retail Packaging
These cartridges both black and color start signalling low ink levels when you have used less than half. That means you can get good quality copying and printing for much longer.
NET take out the cartridges, gently shake em up then re-install. You will still get the low ink lights but I've made more than 100 copies after those lights appear. Seems to be a ploy to encourage waste of ink and therefore more sales for the cartridges.
The 210XL has 66% more ink than the regular 210 cartridge. (15ml vs 9ml) And it isn't much more expensive, so save yourself some long term money and buy the XL.
And while you can go with a generic, certain consumer magazines have shown that generic cartridges and refill kits end up costing you more and giving you less quality than the manufacturer ink.
I got a bundled Canon MX340 with my recent purchase of a Mac Book Pro. The printer was set up in my home network such that anyone could print from their PC/Mac/Laptop. I needed to print a PDF file with over 250 pages and thus decided to buy a spare ink cart as I expected the one that came with the printer to run out (old Epson printer did about 150 pages on average). As expected the low ink warning came on at about page 12/13 (I assumed that others on the network had been using the ink for a fair bit). Replaced with a brand new 210 cart and resumed the printing. I got a rude shock when the low ink warning came back on after about 30 pages of print. Thinking it was an error or sensor malfunction, I decided to ignore it and continued printing. After the 38th page it was completely dry. The shocking thing was, I even set the printer to print on "fast", and color intensity on "-50" (as grey/light as possible to reduce ink ussage). I can't even begin to imagine what would have happened if I printed it on "Normal" or "High Quality".
This is a heads up to students, home offices and basically anyone who needs to print a fair bit, these guys run out fast. VERY FAST.
This product is a HOAX. I bought it along with the printer recently because my HP was guzzling ink. The XL cartridge only printed 30 or so pages (of 12 pt text) before being empty. The 'beginner' cartridge that came with the printer printed 5x that. What a joke. This product is more than defective. It's outright dishonest, what's the term... highway robbery??
I wouldn't waste my money if I were you. BTW, the printer's pretty sweet so far (that is if I can find a way to feed it reasonably)!
I don't do nearly as much printing as I did when I first got my printer, but this cartridge has lasted for more than half the semester now. I print weekly for numerous assignments so this cartridge has done wonders.
everything was as promised. worked perfectly with the printer i had and it was way cheaper than the stores' asking price and it has more ink than the regular 210. ill buy here again when it runs out. nice.
Didn't really count how many pages I could print with one cartridge, but it seemed like a lot. (I'm a college student so I print very frequently.) Quality is not compromised even when I set the print quality at "fast" (and the printer consequently uses less ink). - Ink - Canon - Canon Pixma Ink - Pg-210xl'

Iphone 4 Cover - iphone 4, otterbox
You can see my other reviews to know that I buy A LOT of cases - it has became an addiction of sorts. With that said, I have often found Otterbox products to be the best of the best. (See my 5 star Otterbox iPhone 4 Defender review for proof!)
I received this item last Monday and I was anxiously awaiting installing it and giving it a go. Unfortunately my excitement quickly subsided. I hate to sound negative but this case leaves a lot to be desired. Below I will give you my unbiased thoughts on the case and its pros/cons.
Pros:
Much thinner than the Defender case
All ports are easily accessible
Lightweight
Cons:
The screen protector that it comes with is very sub-par, I've purchased several screen protectors in the past for both my iPhone(s) and other models, the one that came with the Otterbox ranks near (or at) the bottom of the list as far as quality build and ease of installation in avoiding air bubbles etc.
The case doesn't quite fit "right" sometimes the silicon case will come loose from around the lip of the phone and it will in turn cause the polycarbonate shell to shift and not only fit awkward but look horrible as well.
The cover for the audio out jack (headphone jack etc.) should have been designed better. It often protrudes from the case and just looks awkward.
In conclusion I would state that though the case isn't the worse (and 2 stars may be harsh) due to the price and quality expected from Otterbox it came up well short of expectations.
I will try to post pictures later showing this case next to a bare iPhone 4 and also next to the Defender case. OtterBox AT&T and Verizon iPhone 4 Commuter Case (Black)
Hi, I just got this case yesterday. It's the third one I've tried with my iPhone 4. Otterbox makes fine cases so I expected something nice and was not disappointed. I also had the Commuter and Defender cases for my iPhone 3Gs.
Here are some notes for you:
- The case provides the best protection of the three I've tried. The Apple bumper case is nice but the open back leaves a lot of glass exposed. This one gets the job done while not being too bulky.
- Compared to the iPhone 3Gs Commuter case this one exposes more of the hard plastic surface and less of the rubber. The plastic is textured nicely so gripping is still secure. In all fairness I think I do prefer the design of the 3G/3Gs version.
- The phone will connect (Yeah!) to my Magellan car mount and B&W speakers with this case. It would not connect with the thicker Apple bumper case. I'm also able to get other cables to connect to it that would not connect with the bumper case. The opening for the thirty pin connector is larger on the Otterbox case.
- Putting the screen protector on can be frustrating but I was mostly successful this time. Dust must be avoided at all cost while applying it. Hey Intel, can I use your clean room for a few minutes?
It's a good compromise between protection and bulk. If you had the 3G version you might be a little disappointed because the fit on this one doesn't seem quite as good.
Update (9/2/2010): The reviewer(s) that said the case can be uncomfortable on your ear while making calls was right. If you make a lot of calls this could be rather annoying. I'll post a picture or two of the offending sharp edge. I filed the edge on mine with my Leatherman to smooth it out. That helped a lot.
Regards,
John
This case exceeded my expectations i had after reading some of these peoples reviews. First of all, the fit is perfect. i dont know if maybe some of these people didnt put it on right (it takes a while to get it right) but mine fits snugly.second, It does not feel cheap. The plastic is not very thick but it doesnt need to be thick to protect, it is only there to hold the shape of the silicone. It is the perfect balance of protection and bulkiness.. I had a defender series for my 3gs and that thing felt like a brick.. this one feels just right, not to mention its a lot cheaper than the defender. If youre gonna be rock climbing or working at construction site, then theres no reson why you would want the defender over this case. The screen protector is pretty cool, i dont really see the point of it because the case sits in such way that your screen will not get scratched. i still put mine on and cant even tell its there.. I would highly recomend this case, and no i dont work for otterbox, im just a regular guy that really liked this product and i dont think the reviews on it are very accurate. Thanks!
Sadly, this is the first review I've written, because I've had such a bad experience with this case. I'm a big OtterBox fan, I had a Commuter on my previous 3GS, and a Defender for my old 3G which is now on my wife's S. Both of those cases are great and I don't have a negative thing to say about them.
I had such a good experience with the previous version of the Commuter, that I got one for my Iphone 4. Unlike other reviewers, I think the screen protector is great, the only reason I gave this case 2 stars instead of one. I've had several screen protectors in the past, and they've mostly been all the same. The OtterBox protector seems to be of higher quality, and its the first case I've gotten on with absolutely no bubbles. Also, while trying to get the bubbles out on other protectors, you end up scratching the protector with the credit card. OtterBox solved that issue by putting an extra layer on the protector, and once you have worked all the bubbles out, you peel off the outer layer, leaving a pristine screen protector. I honestly can't tell that it's even there. Unfortunately that's where the good stops.
The silicone on the Iphone 4 commuter seems cheap, and doesn't fit the phone as well as in previous versions. The corners and parts that aren't covered by the outer shell constantly move and don't hug the phone as tightly as on the last version.
The hard protective shell is a complete failure on my case. When you initially take it out of the case, you can tell that the plastic is of cheaper construction than previous models. It is significantly thinner than the last, which is nice from a size perspective, but it just feels cheap in your hands, like it is going to break at the slightest stress. Also, the worst thing about mine is that it just doesn't fit the phone. It is too big for the phone, leaving gaps around all 4 sides. On 2 sides, the gap is small enough as to be almost not noticeable, but on 2 it's very obvious, and its so far from the silicone that the whole case flexes in your hand. On my particular case, it's obvious that the protective shell was machined too large for the silicone. No matter how much massaging and fiddling you so with the case, it won't fit the phone properly. As I've said before, on my 3GS, once you snap the outer case on, it's bombproof.
I bought the case direct from OtterBox the day it became available, and Amazon's price is now significantly cheaper. Still, this case isn't worth the cheaper price.
-Update
Otterbox customer service replied, and are sending out a replacement case. Their customer service was very friendly. I'll write another update when the new case arrives.
-Update 2
Customer service promptly sent out a replacement case. The 2nd case definitely fits better, it fits the phone correctly, but there isn't the tight, solid feel of previous versions. As other reviews have noted, the outer case can be uncomfortable against your ear. There are better cases out there for less money, for example, the 'free' case I got through Apple. I got a Griffin Reveal Etch through the free case program, which doesn't offer as much protection, but the case feels solid and fits the phone much tighter than the Otterbox. I still think they make great products, but this one was a failure. At least they've dropped the price since I ordered mine. - Iphone 4 - Commuter - Iphone 4 Cover - Otterbox'

Streaming - streaming, 3d
Upsides: Pandora works nicely. Some other nice internet radio options.
Netflix interface decent.
The best thing here is the SAMBA, CIFs or Windows file sharing (Whatever you call it) is nice. Works fine with Linux, works fine with MediaTomb upnp server. Couldn't find right transcoding options, but didn't need it... good with mp4's ripped h.264 and does mp3. plays flip video files natively no problem. Pause, rewind, fast forward over streaming (cifs or upnp).
LCD display shows timecode when playing streams from samba or upnp.
Bought device to have single device for netflix and home media serving.
Plays mp3's nicely.
Better than ROKU for me since it does SAMBA and UPNP for home streaming, wasn't clear if Roku did that.
Wi-FI, wired.
Oh, and it plays BD's too, I tested one, but not my primary reason for purchase.
Unit stays cool, is nice and small and does what I need.
Downsides: no screensaver in pandora, fearing burn-in.
Menus kind of laggy.
No progress meter when updating firmware. LCD indicates updating but should have separate downloading and applying progress when installing firmware. Have seen samsung do this better with progress meter.
I'd like to add a special item here. LG you did this correctly --- you have a sticker for support on the device. Wow. I love you. I called, human answers. No hold time. Sat, Sun, no problem. I had an issue with firmware 268.E within 3 days there was a new 270-something to correct. 268.E added Amazon VOD for me and the other nifty items. Support was very friendly, apologized and was pleasant to work with. I've never owned home electronics where they actually had a support line with humans. And the humans called you back with updates on your problem!
First LG device I own... mad props for the useful human support! LG BD670 3D Wireless Network Blu-ray Disc Player with Smart TV
Chose this model because it had streaming, DLNA, and wireless built-in (you don't need a separate dongle). I have not been disappointed in any of its functions. Wireless connectivity was a breeze - setup was straightforward and this model accepts a 32-character WPA2 security key (unlike previous LG TVs and Blu-ray player models which were limited to 18-20 characters, as I discovered when I bought a wireless dongle for our TV!). The wireless connection seems to be much more stable than with the other wireless devices we have. I occasionally have to turn off and on again to get a connection on startup, but this is unsurprising given how flaky our router is ... :-)
Blu-ray playback is really good. Our first Blu-ray disc looked grainy and I was concerned until I read various forum discussions that criticized this movie transfer. Many Blu-ray movies are apparently intentionally grainy because this duplicates the "film" experience that the director intended. You can use the movie mode on your TV to reduce graininess as this lowers the sharpness setting. Our second Blu-ray disc was really smooth and detailed, as were most of the other discs. Playback resolution is excellent, you can see every pore on someone's face and the depth of field is amazing. There were no stutters, freezes or glitches with any of the discs we have played. DVD upscaling is also good - I decided it is not worth replacing any DVDs with Blu-ray discs as the upscaled playback in 1080p looks just as good as Blu-ray playback.
Wireless streaming from Netflix was absolutely painless, once I worked out that the "Netflix ESN" that the player provides in the network setup menu is NOT the code that you need to use for Netflix connection setup. You need to select the LG Premium menu icon which accesses premium streaming services, select Netflix and get the connection code from the setup menu there. Enter the code once on the Netflix website ("Activate a Netflix ready device" in your account settings) and Netflix streaming works automatically after that. Hopefully my experience will save other people hours of trying to connect with the wrong code! Netflix streaming is excellent quality, much better than broadcast TV for most shows. The player seems to stream seamlessly from Netflix with almost no stutters or degraded resolution issues, even for HD movies. The only issues I have seen are when my internet connection is congested (Comcast net access is pretty bad on Friday evenings and Saturdays in my area). I am impressed.
A recent firmware update (April 2011) added Amazon Video on Demand, which also works great! It is really cool to have these services. The device also offers Vudu, Pandora, Napster etc. but I haven't used those. Firmware updates are easy, although these do take around 5-10 minutes to load via wireless connection - you need to keep your nerve and not turn off the player, thinking nothing is happening. Eventually, you get a message saying that the download has loaded and the player turns off and on again. If the download fails (which did happen once), the device is not affected (good design).
I was really impressed by how painless it was to set up media streaming from a PC using DLNA. A copy of Nero Home Media Server essentials was supplied on CD - I installed this, the player automatically detected my PC and presented me with a list of files I could play from the media folder. This was *so* easy! DLNA file-streaming has worked brilliantly: I only experienced problems with one, huge (10 GB) home movie file that stuttered and stopped. Then I discovered the USB connection on the right-front panel of the player. I had been so taken with all of the streaming solutions that I overlooked the easiest way to play media files, which is from an external hard drive or flash drive! The BD670 played the huge file from an external hard drive with no problems. Since then, the player has played everything I have thrown at it: AVI and MKV, etc. using lots of different codecs. With 3 firmware updates in the month that I have owned it, I have a lot of confidence that it is being updated constantly to play all of the latest disc and file formats. So I am a very happy bunny indeed! - Streaming - 3d - Wireless Network - Netflix'

Macbook Shell - macbook pro, speck case
This is a really great case! It snaps right on and fits like a glove. Once on, you forget its there. It provides excellent protection as well and it looks GOOD! This case has a slight notch to accommodate the new 2010 MBP adapters.
Only con is that fingerprints do leave marks on the case. If that bothers you, you might have to wipe it down often. It doesn't bother me at all. But I wipe it down occasionally because it just looks slick when its nice and clean.
The texture of the case is really grippy. You don't feel like it will fall out of your hand. It provides good traction with hand when carrying it.
I recommend pairing this with the incase neoprene sleeve for maximum protection for those on the go. It fits nice and snug. I am a law student and I am constantly packing up and setting back up again. I carry this set up in my backpack and it provides good protection. Overall, I highly recommend this product. It is so well done, I'm really surprised Apple didn't come up with product. Speck See Thru Satin Case for 13-Inch MacBook Pro with SD Card Slot and 13-Inch MacBook Aluminum Unibody (MB13AU-SAT-PUR-D)
Just got it. Snapped right into place. Fits like a glove and leaves the outlet areas uncovered. Excellent fit and finish. My brand new macbook pro won't get scratched and looks cool too. The apple shines through on top... Elegant cover for a beautiful machine!
This is a very nice product, fits well. I am giving it 3 stars mainly because:
1.It's EXTREMELY hard to take off, almost broke a nail trying to do so, and you have to be very careful when 'attempting' this because you might break one of the tabs if you pull hard, or even break the case itself.
2.The color was not was I was expecting, it was BRIGHT pink, although once I put it on it did not look as bad as it looked when i first took it out of the box.
3.No cleaning cloth included!!!
Overall I guess it's a good product, just wish it was easier to take off..
I'll give my opinions without going into much detail on the product's features, since you can find dozens of reviews for nearly identical products from Speck elsewhere on this site.
First, since this is the first review of this particular model... From what I can tell, what differentiates this product from previous models is that this one has a very subtle notch near the power port that allows the redesigned 2010 MagSafe connector to be connected in such a way that the cord runs away from the user. This is almost unnoticeable, but helps the MagSafe get a good, secure connection. This may have been existent on previous models, but I can't say for sure.
My general impression is that, while functional, this case will make your notebook seem less premium in a couple of ways:
1) The added bulk obviously alters the form factor of the notebook. To me, It's a worthwhile trade-off, since I can always pull the notebook out of the case when I want to return it to its sleek roots.
2) In my experience, the added weight that comes along with any case is particularly noticeable with the lid, and this one is no exception. While the Macbook Pro's hinge has plenty of strength to tolerate the added weight, adding the case makes it much easier to open/adjust/close the lid anytime it is working with gravity. I personally HATE a loose screen hinge, so while this case doesn't actually make the hinge any looser, it still bothers me that it FEELS looser.
Despite what may have seemed like a negative experience, I have found this to be a very good product, but not one without some drawbacks.
Other thoughts: As strange as it might look, I may end up using this case without the lid portion while I'm just at home, since most scratching opportunities will arise when setting the notebook down.
Bought this after I make an ugly little dent on the bottom of my Macbook and I love it! It protects my case from dings, dents and scratches perfectly. It looks sleek and modern with the matte finish. Tried taking it off the first time and had no problem. You just have to be careful with the plastic tabs. Great price from the seller too! A DEFINITE MUST HAVE FOR ALL MACBOOK PRO OWNERS!
This product is great! I'm glad I was able to find it on Amazon for about $20 cheaper than the retail price. When I purchased it, there was no cloth included (I'm not sure if that has something to do with the seller).
The case is very durable and I have zero scratches on my Macbook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2010). I'm glad to have gotten this case and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to prevent any scratches on their macbook.
I can't really tell the difference between the weight with the case on or off. The apple logo still shines through with the case on and the case has a GREAT feel. You must get this product!! - Macbook Case - Case - Speck Case - Macbook Pro'
