Fashion Accessories - ipod accessories, ipod dock
I needed to wake up to music and had specific criteria:
1. Alarm clock must work with iPod so I could set what song I woke up to
2. Clock must have bearable alarm sound just in case iPod is not available.
3. Clock must increase sound from silence incrementally so I'm not jarred out of sleep.
4. Clock must be small and portable so I can pick it up and walk with it while I get ready in the AM w/o waking hubby
5. Clock must work on batteries and wall plug that detaches
6. Clock must be white or silver
And with that said, this clock was so perfect it's like I imagined it! Not only that it's an travel clock so it's portable enough for trips. It does not have all the wiz bang of some of the other clocks but I really didn't need all of that. The unit is much smaller than it looks on the site and the speakers pack a serious punch (they are on the sides). I would buy this again and I've been recommending it to all my friends. Perfect! iHome iH16 Portable Speaker System for iPod (Gray)
I bought this in an electronics store at the mall where they had one out on display and I could pop in my iPhone 3GS to test it. I've got a fairly simple set of criteria that I'm getting pretty good at testing for:
1) Does it charge the 3GS? Yes. (my older clock radio did not)
2) Is it easy to make the device play music? Yes. (you'd be amazed at how many iPod speakers require significant fussing to get them to play the iPod)
3) Can I listen to Internet radio? Yes. (Some devices will only play the iPod)
4) Will it wake to muisc? Yes. (Again, not all of them do)
5) Is the sound quality respectable? Yes. For a device the size of a Toblerone bar, this thing is amazing. Not much bass and it won't make your ears bleed, but it's clean and accurate and makes you feel you're listening to decent stereo rather than an alarm clock.
This is the first device I've owned that made me want to pop my iPhone in, fire up a Genius playlist and listen. The button selection is as simple as it could be, I can kill the clock light at night with the Snooze bar, and it wakes to iPod perfectly in the morning with zero setup. The only negatives I can come up with are that it's so light that you end up moving it around the night stand when you undock it, and it has no built-in radio, which might bother some people but not me. My bottom line, this is a device that lives up to the elegance of the iPhone. They should sell tons of these.
I got this to do two things only: tell me the time (without me needing to put my glasses on) and read me a bedtime story (audiobooks ripped from CD). It is almost perfect for those purposes, but I'm surprised at all these glowing reviews, because the unit is not without real flaws. The only two that concern me are that the display, while large and clear, cannot be seen if you're lying down and your bedside table is at the same level as your head. From all other angles the display is perfectly clear, but to see the time without sitting up, I need to lean the unit towards me at a sharp angle.
The other niggle that bothers me is that the [Sleep] button is on the back (Why?) and is the middle of three identical buttons, so care is needed. Did the designers think that people would confuse [Snooze] with [Sleep]? If so, they could have come up with more unambiguous labels, like [It's too f*?#!+@ early!] and [Drift Off...]
Two other flaws that don't concern me but would probably matter to most people: In terms of volume, it doesn't exactly "go to eleven"; all it can manage is about four. The other one is that, though the sound quality is as excellent as reported in the other reviews, there is a serious lack of bass, leaving it sounding only like a set of five dollar computer speakers.
It does everything else just fine, is truly portable and lightweight, takes up very little space, and is constructed really well.
(I can't comment on the alarm function because I would never rely on anything this complex to wake me up: if I absolutely, positively have to be awake at a certain time, my yard-sale Westclox gets wound up, armed, and placed on the other side of the room. I then go to sleep, serenaded by its hellacious loud tick, secure in the knowledge that - come Hell or high water (or power outages) - I will be awake and standing at the right time next morning.)
I have not had my iHome clock radio for more than 24 hours and am excited to review it. First feature I like is the light to the clock can be turned completely off. And it had multiple setting for brightness. For such a small system the sound is AMAZING!! It also has cool features like the daylight savings time button. It took me a minute or two to set the clock right so I can implement the DST option. A favorite feature of mine on any time device is the ability to do military (24hour) time. I am still trying to work out the logistics of my iPod Nano's (4th Generation) alarm and the iHome's alarm. In the instructions for the alarm clock it says you can not use a skin or case while docking. I have a skin from DecalGirl.com on my Nano and it docks and works fine with the skin on. ALSO...this system will travel! Got to love a charging (not when powered by batteries)/playing/clock dock that is small enough to pack (comes with AC adapter cord)!
Great product and I highly recommend it if you want a small multifunctional dock/clock. - Ipod Accessories - Ipod Alarm Clock - Ipod Dock - Ihome Clock Radio'

Guaranteed To Be A High Quality Suit
Purchased this suit, here is a summary of my experience:
Shipping was fast. Also, the suit itself is very nice. High quality, the material seems lightweight and looks classy. Unfortunately, it didn't fit. The jacket and vest were fine, but the pants were VERY tight. Not just around the waist, but down the legs too. In my opinion, not a good look for a suit. I guess I'm used to looser, American style suits.
I successfully returned the item, but this seller has a very cumbersome return system. You have to sent an email to file for some return number or something. This number expires in less than a week, so if you don't ship it within a day or so of receiving your number, they will not accept the return (even if it's in transit, from what I understood).
Just fair warning; if you buy from this seller, make sure you are organized and stay on top of everything (keep all original packaging, etc.). Also, consider trying on some authentic Italian-designed suits, to make sure you like the fit (large shoulder pads, tight pants). Perhaps that was my problem. Gino Valentino Vested Mens Suit Made in Italy Australian Worsted Merino Wool / Silk 150's Canvas Front Jacket + Flat Front Pants + Vest 3 Button 3pc Three Button Business Suit Black Faint Shadow Stripe (42 Short)
I was really impressed with this suit. The fit was great and the fabric was perfect. (not too heavy, not too thin). Many compliments on the look. I would suggest investing in a lint roller though because the suit picks up lint easily.
I ordered my 3 pieces suit and two day later it came. The delivery was very good. The response email is very fast. It fit and look better than I expected. I love the quality of the material too. It was very ligh. The one thing that I not like is the way the delivery guy deliver the package. I was not home. My mom told me that the guy just knocked on the door and then just drop the package and left. I would rather someone sign for the package. Let said if my mom is not home, anyone that walk by can just pickup the package and I will not receive it. But overall I love the company customer services and it fast delivery.
It has the right drop, the cut was shapely but not to trim, the jacket has a nice hang and fits well across the shoulders, and the linen is good quality. The attention to detail is high with a high quality of construction, the stitching is excellent, and the hidden finishes are well done!!'

Ink Cartridge - pixma, printer
The best of printing ink and printers for home use - Canon. Highly recommend these cartridges as replacement in your Canon printer. I, like the previous reviewer (who erroneously rated a non-OEM product (refill) in his review), have not had good luck with refilling or using non-canon products. Highly recommend this OEM genuine Canon ink. Canon PGI-225 BK/ CLI-226 C,M,Y 4 Pack Value Pack (4530B008) in Retail Packaging
I want to help offset this review below which is clearly not for this ink but for an ink refill. I just got the MG 5220 today and the photos are absolutely beautiful. I can hardly see any pixels or dots when I print photos. It seems to be doing a find job so far.
As I am using this ink one cartridge at a time when I need to replace the one that has run out, I can't comment on the whole package but so far so good. This is the first time I have owned a Canon printer but after the problems with my last HP All-In-One, I decided it was time to change brands.
The Canon ink is bright and works very well with my photos. It IS EXPENSIVE but so are most printer inks these days. Amazon prices are about the best I have found for genuine Canon ink.
I have always stuck with OEM ink, because the results and reliability are worth the extra cost to me (plus printer manufacturers are making it increasingly difficult to use non-OEM solutions).
However, it is beyond dumb to see the combos that Canon is offering for the new line of ink jet cartridges. If you want to save a few dollars by buying a combo pack, you either get this one which does not include the Black or Gray cartridges, or you get Canon CLI-226 BK,C,M,Y with PP-201 50 Sheets Combo Pack (4546B007) that doesn't include the Pigment Black or Gray cartridges, but includes 50 sheets of Canon paper that I do not need (I already have plenty on hand). It make no sense to not offer at least a 5-cartridge refill kit, since all of these Canon inkjet printers require 4 colors plus Pigment Black (not all utilize Gray). The only rationale would seem to be that Canon gets to line its pockets a bit more than it should.
I also have to knock off a star because the new cartridges are opaque, which may have been done to thwart refillers but also prevents users from checking the ink level themselves.
No wonder so many users go to such lengths to use non-OEM or refill solutions.
Set up was a cinch and it prints beautifully. After three HP printers in succession that all had carriage jams on initialization, I decided to try this Canon, my first one ever. I am so pleased!! I did not need a fax, so the scan and copy features were fine for me.
What can I say? It's Canon ink, therefore it's too dang expensive, and the cartridges are too small, but - - they work better than most refill inks.
The printers are less expensive because Canon sticks it to you on the cost of the ink to run the darn things!!!!
Don't like the new ink cartridges. They are opque black cases that domn't let you see just how much inlk is left to use. The old ones were translucent.???? Much better! Now ther is no way of telli g if you have used all the ink in the cartridge before having to spend another $50 -60 bucks on more ink. What are they hidding???? - Pixma - Printer - Ink Cartridge'

High Speed - elph, powershot
I'm a DSLR photographer who shoots professionally and has managed a camera store in the past. I wanted something I can take with me everywhere but still produces good quality shots. I also wanted a camera that could shoot good looking videos. I researched several models and after much deliberation decided on the Canon 300 HS. I'm very happy I did.
Image Quality:
I tested cameras and lenses all the time while managing the camera store so whenever I purchase a new camera or lens I always test it. The Canon 300 HS doesn't produce the quality of images my Nikon D7000 does but I didn't expect it to. The edges get a little soft with the 300 HS when looking at the image at 100% whereas the D7000 images are almost tact sharp.
Comparing the 300 HS to the Canon Powershot SD1000 from a few years ago, the 300 HS blows it out of the water. The SD1000 is a 7 MP camera. Shooting the same shots on a tripod with the same focal length on the lens the 300 HS uses its extra MPs well. When looking at the images from each camera at 100%, at the wide angle zoom setting and normal zoom setting both cameras have about the same relative slight softness on the edges. However the 300 HS has more MP so it actually produces much more detail in the image. I think it was smart for Canon to keep the MP at 12 because last years models while being 14 MP (SD1400) didn't give any extra detail from what I could tell than the 12 MP version (SD1300). The SD1400 was basically just creating larger files. When zooming in the telephoto setting the 300 HS clearly produced a sharper image than the SD1000. Often cameras have sweet spots in the zoom range in which it will produce crisper images. The 300 HS has consistently good sharpness throughout it's zoom range.
HS system and ISO:
The image processing with the HS system truly works to reduce noise at higher ISOs enabling people to produce better quality images in low light. The improvement in image quality gets more and more visible the greater and greater the ISO. ISO 400 with the 300 HS was almost as good as ISO 200 on the SD1000. ISO 800 on the 300 HS was a tad better than ISO 400 on the SD1000. ISO 1600 on the 300 HS was between ISO 400 and 800 on the SD1000. ISO 3200 on the 300 HS produced the same quality of image (noise) as ISO 800 on the SD1000. A 2 stop in film speed improvement is big.
1080p video and slow motion:
With good light, the 300 HS produces wonderful smooth 1080 videos. If you look at a lot of HD videos from compact cameras the video often looks jumpy. From what I've seen it wasn't until you got to the Canon G12 or Panasonic LX5 that the video looked smooth. Both of those cameras only shoot 720p whereas this camera shoots 1080p. The video also very good detail. It truly looks HD.
If you are wanting zoom and continuous AF with your video this camera is the one you want compared to the 100 HS which doesn't allow you to zoom. The continuous AF with face recognition is stellar with this camera in video mode. I was videoing my wife while she was driving. It focused on her face. I switched to the scenery outside. It immediately focused on that. I then went back to my wife and it found her face and focused on it right away. I even videoed her reflection in the rear view mirror and it found her face in the mirror no problem and focused on it. AMAZING!!!!
Commenting on a complaint I've read about the zoom being slow in video mode. If you like getting motion sickness whenever someone rapidly zooms in or out during their video this is not your camera. As smooth looking as the video is, the zoom is also. The smooth zoom creates nice looking transitions instead of warp speed ahead looks.
The slow motion is a fun feature that works well. You need to have good lighting though. In low light even with high ISO's it produced very dark videos. In a review someone commented that it should have sound with the slow motion video. I honestly don't know how that could work unless you want to listen to everything at 1/5 it's normal speed. I think it's a good thing that it doesn't have sound with the slow motion videos.
AF:
I commented on AF partially in the video portion of the review. It does have several AF modes for various situations. The face detection works great. If you have a person in the picture but want something other than the person to be in focus you will need to change AF modes from face detection. The reviewer that had the problem with the 300 HS focusing on things he didn't want the camera to focus on likely didn't have the correct AF mode for the shooting situations. The 300 HS does have a center AF if you prefer that.
Areas for Canon to improve on with the 300 HS:
The camera is so well thought out that I'm surprised Canon let this slip. I love having a wide angle zoom go down to 24mm. It's great for scenery and photojournalist type shots. If you shoot at the widest angle zoom and use the flash, the lens on the 300 HS blocks the flash's exposure on the bottom right corner of the image. The corner is completely black. If you zoom in a bit so you aren't at the widest angle setting when using the flash you will be fine. Still all Canon had to do is not put the flash so close to the lens.
When shooting video in lower light situations the video does start to get noisy and grainy quicker than some other cameras.
Conclusion:
All in all this is a wonderfully thought out camera with great image quality and image processing and it shoots stellar videos for it's compact size. Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS 12.1 MP Digital Camera (Black)
This is a point and shoot class camera, if you understand that going in, you are going to be more than impressed with it. I'm going from an SD630 and hands down, this beats it. I even had an SX210IS and these images are on par with it, if not better. I had to return my SX210IS as it had issues with dust on the image sensor and I've been waiting for a new P&S class to come out. I bit the bullet on this, well, the black version Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS 12 MP CMOS Digital Camera with Full 1080p HD Video (Black) and what can I say - I am happy!
300HS vs 500HS:
There is a 500HS version of the camera, which is approx $50 more. To this point, the only differences I can tell are the LCD on the back as well as aperture priority and shutter priority, while the 300hs does not. The touch screen on the 500hs can also be used to focus on a particular subject. The 500hs also has a wider aperture at 2.0, the 300hs has 2.7.
Form Factor/Display:
Small. Awesome. There is a texture on the camera, I really like this as it seems like it will help if you hands are wet (sweat, snow, etc). Easy to operate one hand and if using both hands, flash isn't in a horrible place. Display is very bright and button seem intuitive as with other Canon cameras. Battery and SD are on the bottom door, USB and HDMI are in a covered side port. Comes with a wrist strap if you desire a little extra security.
Boot Time/Software:
Camera is ready to take photos very fast. From the time you press the button, it's pretty much set to catch the action. Time between photos wasn't terrible (about 1.5 seconds) and if you need it, there is continuous shot mode. Had no problem with the Canon software on Windows 7. I've used the Canon Photo Window import for a while, does a good job of getting photos off the camera without duplicates. I use Picasa to then manage my photo library (I skip the Zoom Browser, but it's really not bad if you want to use it, I'm just a slave to Google/gmail)
Computer Connectivity:
I didn't find this anywhere in the specs, so if you're looking, the camera uses mini-USB, similar to all Canon's that have come out over the last few years.
Optical Zoom:
You're going to be impressed with the form factor of this camera and it's 5x OPTICAL zoom. I immediately disabled digital zoom as 12.1MP + 5x Optical will get you very close to the action. You're better off digitally enhancing the photos later on.
Battery + Memory Card:
This uses the NBL-4 (again, I found confusion on this and accessories) - so if you have some of those laying around keep them as they'll work just fine in this camera. This is nice as my SD630 uses the NBL-4 so now I have 2 chargers + 3 batteries. It took my 32GB SDHC without any issues and holds thousands of images. Images have tended to be between 2 and 3mb on the highest settings.
Image Quality:
Look, I'm no photo fanatic, I don't expect the people buying this camera are. I am looking for solid images and this camera delivers. There are a ton a feature you can delve into and I'm sure they are good. It has manual mode, so if you fancy that, you can go down that path. But I'm the type of person that knows when something looks good, OK or great. This camera consistently delivers GREAT photos. I'm happy with the low light and images aren't blurry or grainy (within reasonable expectations).
Video:
FINALLY! Optical zoom on a Canon during video! 1080p brings this camera up to par with others in its class and it does a decent job. I didn't notice any major noise when zooming in and out while recording video. I know this is the excuse Canon has used in the past as to why they never had this feature. It shoots nice clips for those quick moments. This will NOT replace a true DV cam, but hey, for a few minute clips here and there, you will simply not be dissapointed. - Powershot - Hd Video - Point And Shoot - Elph'

Poirot And Hastings
Even though "Hallowe'en Party" was written later in Agatha Christie's career, and some might believe it to be somewhat of a letdown from earlier works, it retains all the trademarks of what make Christie's intricately woven, delightfully detected mysteries so endearing and timeless. With Hercule Poirot serving as the sleuth who steps in to solve the murder, "Hallowe'en Party" is quick-paced and filled with a cast of characters who seemingly all have something to gain, or hide.
When a young teen is found murdered at a Halloween party, Hercule Poirot is called in by a visiting mystery writer. She is troubled by something that the girl had said during preparations for the party. The young victim claims to have seen a murder committed, and Poirot is quick to believe that she was murdered in order for that murder to remain unknown. He soon sets himself to the task of interviewing a wide cast of the town's inhabitants, raising questions about not only present events, but those in the past that just might be connected to the tragedy. When another murder hits too close to home, Poirot knows that he must convince the lawmen in charge that he has fitted the puzzle together correctly.
"Hallowe'en Party" is plotted out to perfection; the solution, and the requisite explanatory chapter in which Poirot explains how he solved the crime at hand, is as ingenious as it is 'right before your eyes' if the reader is paying close attention to the clues. As always, Agatha Christie has fashioned a delectable mystery that has remained timeless in its plot (even if some of the language, and fashions mentioned for that matter, are a bit dated). Hallowe'en Party: A Hercule Poirot Mystery (Hercule Poirot Mysteries)
The story begins innocently enough - a children's Hallowe'en party. One of the adult guests is Ariadne Oliver, the famous crime novelist. One of the children at the party, in order to impress Mrs. Oliver claims to have seen a murder committed. No one takes any notice, dismissing her story, until the girl turns up dead at the end of the party. Horrified by the tragedy, Mrs. Oliver turns to her old friend Hercule Poirot for help, despite her belief that women should be running Scotland Yard! Poirot begins investigating and realizes that the child was killed in order to prevent discovery of another, much older crime. But raking up the past is dangerous as it can cause a killer to strike again...very chilling mystery, notable for its air of subtle menace and cruelty. Although the identity of the killer was fairly obvious midway through the book, I think Christie afficionadoes will like the psychological analysis of the motives for the crime, as well as of the criminal. Another good Poirot mystery.
Agatha Christie was a true mistress at presenting unique mystery plots and shocking conclusions! Although Miss Jane Marple is my favorite of her series detectives, Belgian detective Hercule Poirot is just as engaging and worth getting to know. His gentle arrogance and wit alone are well worth taking the time to try one of the instalments in this particular series, not to mention his brilliant deductive powers. "Halloween Party" is one of Christie's Hercule Poirot works, ranking up there with "Death On the Nile," "Murder On the Orient Express," and "The ABC Murders." The only minor complaint for me is that Captain Arthur Hastings does not appear in this book.
This particular instalment involves Poirot's friend, mystery writer Ariadne Oliver, who is helping a friend prepare a halloween party for preteens of the country village. The party is a huge success until one of the girls, who has a habit of revealing more information than she should, is found drowned in the apple bobbing tub. She had told people earlier in the day that she had seen a murder being committed a year or two earlier. Could someone at the party have heard her and decided to silence the girl before she revealed what she knew? Ariadne Oliver enlists the help of Hercule Poirot, and his brilliant "Little Grey Cells" begin their work. This mystery has a chilling undercurrent, because Christie uses the horrific occurrence of a child being murdered, and Poirot must confront a truly sociopathic killer who will stop at nothing to remain in the dark.
The audio verssion of this book is superb, and features John Moffat as narrator. He originally played Poirot on several BBC radio productions of the series, and does well portraying different characters. I thoroughly recommend the book on a long car ride or while working around the house. It will make the time go much faster.
Agatha Christie presents readers with another gem! As with mostly all of her books, this one certainly does not disappoint. Please give it a chance. Happy reading!
One of the later Hercule Poirot novels, this book is deftly written and keeps you guessing until the end. Everytime I thought I had it figured out something popped up that made me question my conclusions.
This book has all of Agatha Christie's usual flair for plotting out a plausible solution to a seemingly unsolvable crime. In a few places the narrative seemed a little drawn out, but this was more than made up for by an exciting ending and Christie's excellently descriptive writting.
Highly recommended for fans of Agatha Chritie and mystery novels in general.
This is one of Christie's easier mysteries to figure out but the murders are just nasty enough to be almost comical. The drowning of children shouldn't be funny but here, I think Agatha was in a dark, black comedy mood. Besides, the 2 victims are rather obnoxious... so it makes it more humorous. While you'll guess the whodunit right away (how can you not?), she does throw in a few twists at the end that only Poirot could have unravelled. Not a great book, but not bad either. After all, Christie did write it and she seldom wrote a bad story in her career. Good stuff, as one reader mentioned, to curl up with in autumn weather.'

Overall, I am glad I purchased these ankle weights. I love that the weight is adjustable so I won't have to run out and buy more weights when I'm ready for something more challenging. They are pretty comfortable; my only complaint is that if the velcro closure is not lined up perfectly, then sometimes the rough side of the velcro rubs against my skin. Sometimes I have to adjust the velcro in the middle of my work-out, a little annoying. However, given the choice, I would have bought them again. Danskin Adjustable 5-Pound Pair Ankle Weights
IMO, these ankle weights are DANGEROUS and should be RECALLED.
They do not appear as in the current picture. They contain a large pouch on the front (as worn, middle as resting flat), filled with sand. The pouch sits on the front of your foot, and gravity pulls the sand to the bottom of the pouch, making all the sand weight balance precariously on top of your foot (or your shoe/sneaker). Gravity then works further on this weight, to pull it to the side (usually the inside) of your ankle.
There are two heavy, hard metal bars in pouches on either side. These weights are supposed to rest on the sides, toward the rear of the leg. However, as gravity, assisted by body movement, pulls the big pouch of sand to the side, one bar begins to rest in the front on the bone, while the other begins to rest in the rear on the tendon. As you move, these bars bang against your bone and your tendon, potentially causing pain and damage. This has caused me enough pain, to the point at which I had to halt my workout.
I have tried various methods of positioning and fixing in place the weights. Some slowed the movement, but none stopped it. IMO, this product is simply not worth the risk.
The product is robust (I thought it might be kind of wimpy coming from Danskin vs. say a product called Everlast). The velcro fasteners work very good and the Danskin material is soft to the skin. I like my purchase.
I wanted to point out a few things that weren't clear when I bought these weights:
1. Each band is equipped with removable weights (2 1lb bars each) so you can lighten them if you need. However, the inserts are not made of sand, but of metal, and are very hard and can bruise your ankle bone if you leave them in.
2. The box says that these are NOT to be used for running or walking.
3. They are too big for me, I'm a size 4 female with small ankles and I positively swim in these. So be wary if you want them to fit snugly.
My rating is partly based on disappointment, I bought these because I thought as they were designed for women they would be small enough to fit me, or at least adjustable. And I thought I could use them for hiking.
These weights are exactly as described. They will fit a variety of leg sizes and are perhaps the most comfortable leg weights I have owned to date. I use them daily, usually for an extended period and I am very impressed with how durable they are. - Training - Adjustable Ankle Weights - Exercise'

Lg Optimus V
The Otterbox Commuter Case for the LG Optimus fit my Optimus V (Virgin Mobile) perfectly. The case consists of 3 parts: (1) black silicon rubber type "skin" that covers back, sides, and a small portion of the face of the phone; (2) black hard plastic "shell" that snaps on over the silicon "skin" on the back and sides of the phone; (3) a clear plastic-like material screen protector.
The soft, shock-absorbing "skin" combined with the hard, scratch, scuff, and crush resistant "shell" provides great protection for the phone. The "skin" contains covers (that fold back out of the way when needed) for the usb port and the earphone jack. It also covers the side and top buttons of the phone so that no dirt, moisture, etc. can enter.
The screen protector also does a good job and went on smoothly and without air bubbles. This was accomplished with the enclosed applicator card/squeegee (little plastic square used to push out air bubbles). The only complaint about this product is in regards to the screen protector. It isn't cut quite accurately. If you apply it so that it doesn't cover the earpiece/speaker there is a small gap between where the screen protector ends and the silicon "skin" begins, leaving a small crevice where dust and dirt like to gather. If you apply it so that there is no gap between the screen protector and the "skin", then the screen protector covers most of the earpiece/speaker. Fortunately, the screen protector is the easiest part of the case to replace if you don't like the way it fits. I kept it applied and haven't replaced it. It isn't much of a bother, but it could have fit better.
Overall, I think the product is well made and provides great protection for my phone. It feels really secure. Although I have not dropped my phone, I feel that the case would protect it well if I did. Further, the case isn't too bulky/clunky and maintains the sleek/clean look of the phone while adding a little toughness and durability. While the price is high for what you get materials-wise (a piece of soft rubber, a piece of hard plastic, and a plastic screen protector), the design of the case and the protection it provides are very good, and I am satisfied with my purchase. OtterBox Commuter Case for LG Optimus (Black, Retail Packaging)
I just put the Otter Box commuter case on my LG Optimus V. The screen saver was the easiest to install without bubbles of any I've ever tried and fit perfectly.
The inner silicone cover aligned perfectly and will allow easy access. The outer nylon shell went on easily and fits perfectly as well.
I think overall the case provides quite a bit of protection while not adding too much bulk. I'm in construction management so I felt like I needed something tougher than a silicone cover.
The only nitpick I have is that the outer nylon case is rather slippery. I may have rougher hands than most people but possibly about average for the typical purchaser of the case. It seems more likely to slip out of my hands because of the case, which kind of defeats the purpose.
I don't regret buying it, but I will have to hold onto it more tightly than if a had bought the twenty dollar cheaper silicone cover.
I did an extensive search and review of available cases for the LG Optimus S/U/V phone before ordering the Otterbox. This case provides the most protection of any case in my opinion. This is partly due to the silicon inner layer and ABS plastic outer layer on the sides and back. In areas where there is no ABS, the silicon is thicker to make up the difference. The close tolerances of the case package would also help dissipate any shock from a drop without the case separating.
Other cases where it is just another plastic shell on top of the phone, cannot sustain larger impact forces like this case (due to the multiple layers of silicon and plastic).
The fit and finish and overall construction is top notch. All holes line up perfectly, the camera and speaker openings are spot on. Some other reviewers have mentioned that the plastic on the sides are a little slick. I have not found this to be the case (no pun intended) and the plastic outer shell actually has some texture on the sides and another different textured finish on the back. The whole package looks really good in person.
I sometimes do 'go naked' and only use just the included screen protector if I need a slimmer package, like when wearing tailored pants for example. Yes, the case does add some overall bulk, but the case design is such that I don't notice and it feels like this is how the phone would have come from the factory almost. It they made a 'ToughBook' version of the Optimus, this case would be it.
I had a small issue in the past with a prior case for an Ap*le product and OtterBox customer service is excellent as well. They went above and beyond what I asked for.
This case is great. It feels durable, definately protects from just about anything. It does add a little bulk, but thats no big deal. The case has small flaps to cover up the headphone and charger ports. In general a great case, it fits the Optimus U S and V. It comes with a screen protector as well, which is nothing special, pretty standard with no bubbles if it is applied properly. Definately recommended to anyone.
I did extensive research on cases for my LG Optimus V, as I wanted the best protection for my phone. It was between this and the Body Glove case with the belt clip. I decided on this because it seemed to protect the phone better and looked sleeker.
Upon arrival of my case, I applied the screen protector. I had some old InvisibleShield application solution, so I used that to help me put the protector on. For anybody wondering about bubbles on their protector, spray it with soapy water (or InvisibleShield application solution, like I had). It works miracles, and I didn't have a single bubble underneath my protector. The only problem is that the screen protector doesn't stay attatched near the earpiece, but that was mostly my fault, as I applied the protector too high.
Now on to the case; if you are looking for the best protection for your phone, look no further. This is a case with two seperate layers. The inner layer is a very shock-absorbant silicone that alone would probably protect your phone against most bumps. It is smooth to the touch.
The outer layer that covers the sides and the back of the phone is a hard plastic that further improves the protection. It is slick to the touch, and gives the phone a great feel.
The volume, camera, and voice search buttons are all raised, and while it makes it a bit harder to press them, especially the volume buttons, they are easy accessed. All ports were lined up correctly, and there is even protection for your micro USB port and your headphone jack (a plus because my headphone jack broke earlier, and I had to send my phone in to LG for repairs). Also, for some reason, because the headphone jack is blocked, sound comes out the speaker less tinny and with more volume. I have no idea why, but I noticed this earlier without the case too. Just an added bonus, I guess.
This phone has been dropped off a speeding motorcycle, and didn't get a single scratch on it. The only complaint I have is that the silicone parts of the case are dust magnets. Every time I put my phone in my pocket, it attracts lint of all kind. However, that is simply remedied with a fingertip of cooking oil every once in a while.
Again, this is the absolute best case for your Optimus S/V/U. Look no further if you want the best protection with the best looks.'

Memory Card - 8gb, 8gb sdhc
I purchased this for use with my new Canon T2i. I use it primarily for shooting full resolution 1080p video, although I shoot stills as well.
The camera choked on the class 4 chip that I originally purchased, but with this one, it is amazing. I can shoot rapidfire 18 megapixel stills (I've tested it up to 30+ shots in a row), and there is no lag. I've never had an error when shooting hi-def video.
Highly recommended! I'm buying another one. Transcend 8GB Class 10 SDHC Card (TS8GSDHC10)
I bought this card for my Canon T1i. The card I had been using before ordering this one was a Kingston Class 6 micro sd card and it worked well enough for the type of shooting I did. Class 6 was the card speed that Canon recommended when I bought my T1i (Class 10 cards were not yet available) and it seemed fast enough for the way I used my camera - isolated single photos taken at Medium (8 MP) or Large (15 MP) jpg settings and 1280 x 720 video. And while I ocassionally took continuous photos, I had never much exceeded 5-10 photos in a row and had never run into a problem with my Class 6 card.
When I first saw the Class 10 cards I did some experiments with my camera. How many continuous Large photos could I take before the camera slowed down? It turned out to be about 30. And how many RAW photos could I take before the camera slowed down? It turned out to be about 9. SInce I did not generally take any photos in RAW and never needed more than about 10 continuous photos at Large, the Class 6 card seemed more than sufficient for my needs. But I wondered about the speed of the Class 10 cards enough that I finally bought one.
It turns out that the Class 10 card is sufficiently fast that there does not seem to be a reasonable upper limit on single Large photos. I have taken 60 on continuous without an issue. And although I still cannot take more than 9 RAW photos on continuous with the Class 10 card, when I am finished taking those photos the camera no longer displays a Wait - writing pictures screen. The RAW photos get written from the built-in memory to the card so quickly that the camera does not need to display the Wait screen.
So this card is fast! Given the way I take photos this purchase was unnecessary, but still I am glad I bought it. I know I will not run into a situation where speed is an issue with this card.
I will be writing this review for both SanDisk Extreme SDHC class 10 8gb and Transcend SDHC class 10 16gb.
I bought SanDisk class 10 and Transcend class 10 for my new Panasonic LX5. I got both card because no one really did a comparison with a compact camera and I was just going crazy trying to see if there is any big difference between the 2 cards.
SanDisk Extreme package box indicated it's water proof, x-ray proof, shock proof, temperature proof. I am not ready to spend $50 to see if it really stand up to it's words. And I don't think normal people would go through the extreme condition in taking pictures or videos.
Cut the story short, I really want to see if there is any difference in writing performance between the 2 cards in a compact camera. There is a continuous burst mode in LX5 and the manual indicated it is only limited by the condition of picture environment and performance of the SD card. Within the mode there are 2 different settings:1) speed priority or 2) picture/quality priority. The shutter speed is much faster with speed priority compare to picture priority.
I first formatted both cards out of box then put each card in series of test(3 rounds each setting for each card) shooting at the same object under same lighting condition. The results:
Speed Priority:
SanDisk Class 10 8gb
22-33 shots before camera stopped to allow the card to catch up with writing.
Transcend Class 10 16gb
22-24 shots before camera stopped to allow the card to catch up with writing.
Picture priority
SanDisk Class 10 8gb
34-46 shots before camera stopped
Transcend Class 10 16gb
27-33 shots before camera stopped
It seems that at a higher shutter speed, both cards performed very similar under the same shooting condition. But at a slower shutter speed the SanDisk definitely out perform Transcend. I hope this little experiment satisfied anyone with curiosity like me. Transcend definitely is a bargain with 16gb and almost half of the price compare to SanDisk. But I am going to use SanDisk Extreme as my primary card and Transcend as backup or on a second camera to ensure i would not miss any shots.
OK. this card was around $47 for a class 10 16gb. The other card i bought was a Sandisk class 10 8gb for the around same price. I did a 10 sec stop watch test on both cards with my Rebel T1i on raw and the Sandisk was only faster by 1 shot in a 10 sec burst. to me it seems trivial to pay 47 bucks for a Sandisk 8gig when you can get 16 gigs for the same price. yes i know, the Sandisk is good for arctic and desert temperatures... but i live in western NY... not Antarctica or the Sahara. If your looking for a good card, with more gigs for your buck, the Transcend is well worth it.
The "C10" is for "minimum sustaining speed" of 10mbps. The sustaining speed is critical if you're using for HD camcorder. There is other brand card that is also c10 but it costs more (2x) for its print of 30mbps on the card. It leads consumers into thinking that the higher price is worth for the 30mbps. However, the 30mbps is the "burst" speed. Burst speed is critical for HD camera and for doing copies. I have a HD camcorder and I'm very satisfied with this card after many hours for recording. I bought this card to do 100% of recording so it is the right price. I would buy the other high price brand card of 30mbps if I will do a lot of picture taking. The bottom line is to buy for the purpose of your usage. - 8gb Sdhc - Memory Card - 8gb - Sdhc'

Canon Flash - speedlite, camera accessories
Fits great on my flash and makes a noticeable difference in the quality of my photos. A portrait taken wiht a dead-on flash (without a diffuser) looks pale and washed-out, but the diffuser allows the light to be spread out across the whole picture, not just the subject alone.
The first few times I used this particular diffuser on my Canon Speedlite, it kept popping off. I quickly realized, however, that this was a user error. The diffuser snaps right on when put on correctly :-)
I would highly recommend this diffuser! SBM Supreme Light Diffuser for the Canon 430EX Flash
This product is a good option and has the exact same diffusing characteristics as the Sto-Fen one. We made test shots with both and have found that the Sto-Fen was a bit more red-yellowish, the SBM one (this product) has a more natural-to-slightly-bluish tint, but nothing that cannot be overcome by White Balance (the difference is very subtle).
The Sto-Fen is much thicker and, therefore, we believed the light might be diffused differently. It isn't. We would not have been able tell one from the other had it not been for the slightly different tint.
Just to get this clear for other customers: the 430EX version of this diffuser fits perfectly both the 430EX and 430EX II, but, since the design of the flash is not symmetric, you need to put the curved part of the diffuser to the upper part of the flash.
That said, I agree with other reviewers that it fits a bit loose and, therefore, is prone to accidental falloffs. My experience was that the Sto-fen product was exactly the same though, hence our need to purchase a new one, as the old Sto-fen fell from the flash.
So, to sum it up:
- Great Quality
- Slightly loose fit.
Hope this helps others.
Used this for a party and was very pleased with most of the shots. Probably most effective when used at a 45 degree angle. Gives a warmer feel to the shots, you might have to adjust the white balance. A great alternative when you don't have a white ceiling to bounce the flash.
At first it was just a novelty, but the more I grown to use it, the better my indoor photo are becoming. Not more harsh shadows. It takes some time to get use to using it, but with a little practice, you will see the improve with your indoor photos.
I realize this is an inexpensive item but I just haven't been able to get good results from it. I feel like it was basically a waste of money. I know it's not meant to make a huge difference, but since I haven't seen any improvement by using it verse using direct flash in any situation. I am not very experienced with flash photography so I don't think this review should sway you one way or the other, but if asked I would not recommend this product. I would have rated it worse, but the product does fit well and is priced reasonably, and may work well for others so I couldn't merit overly bashing it.
I went ahead and purchased this with my flash as my first diffuser to start using. It works great for the price and really helps to tone down some of the direct light. I even use it on my Flash outside for portraits and still get great shots with it. If you've already spent the money on the flash this fits on, go ahead and get the diffuser too. You'll be glad you did.
provides ample diffusion, causes a lot of light loss, falls off easily, very expensive for a piece of plastic. I am going to try making my own with a less opaque plastic, and with a larger surface area a la Gary Fong. - Flash - Canon - Speedlite - Camera Accessories'

Secure Digital - kodak easyshare, digital frames
Hi,
I purchased this frame on sale at Amazon for $50. There are other reviews on this frame, some of which come from a Vine program Amazon runs where people get the item to review for free. So far I am less than thrilled with their reviews. In reading them you get the sense that either they have done no research on other frames, and therefore judge the Kodak frame too harshly. Or you get the sense that they did not spend much time with the frame before they kicked out a review.
So, I purchased this frame myself. And I have been looking into frames for a while. It always seemed that frames were too expensive or too cheap. And either way, the frames would not work as expected. Most digital frames do not come with a rechargeable battery. And the Kodak P85 is in the same boat. Quite a few frames will play video and music. The Kodak P85 does neither, however it is not very expensive. Most frames come with some internal memory. The Kodak P85 does not. So why buy this frame. You decide.
The P85 is SIMPLE but it has great screen color. The resolution is 800x600. The aspect ratio is not widescreen. It is a normal picture ratio of 4:3. It has no remote control to get lost. You can set it to turn itself off after 8 hours, 16 hours, or stay on until turned off by you. It will shuffle the pics or play them by date. I read one review that the pics by date could be off if you edited the pic and resaved it and therfore changed the pics date. Quite possible but I did not check that. You can use various memory cards or USB. I used an SD card. One note, the side of the card with the write protect switch is the side that faces the top of the frame when you put the card in the frame. Just turn the frame on, and put the card in. You know it sees the card when it puts an image of a memory card on the screen. It then begins playing the pics off the card. No there are no Kodak pics when it plays the pics off your card. If all you see are the kodak pics then the frame does not see your card. I like the Pan and Zoom feature. That is when it brings up a pic and the view of the pic moves slighty and zooms in slightly like when you see documentaries on tv. I think its called the Ken Burns effect.
So you can decide on what features you want in a frame. I wanted simple. No remote, no music, no video, no battery, no touch screen. I just wanted pictures displayed with stunning color. The lack of built in memory does not bother me. I prefer to leave the frame in place, remove the card and put more pics on the card by inserting the card into my PC. One note. The frame does not come with a memory card. But you really don't need much of a card. A two gig card will cost you around $5 amd that will hold more than enough pics. I actually have a few cards laying around in my camera bag. It only reads Jpeg and Exif pic formats by the way. My pics are Jpegs. You can right click on a pic in the directory on your computer and select properties to see what format yours are in.
If you shop around you can find a cheaper frame to display pics, but the frames always seem to have iffy characteristics. The P85 at 8 inches is worth around $50-$60. It is not in the category of a $100 frame. Kodak Easyshare P85 8-inch Digital Frame
This frame is fantastic. The most important features of any digital picture frame are resolution and brightness, and this frame gets high marks on both. The features are SIMPLE, which I view as very positive. No music, no wireless... just plug in your flash drive with photos and off you go. The advertisements for Kodak that others have complained about do NOT appear when the frame is running. They ONLY appear when the flash drive is removed or when the device is first turned-on, much like your computer might flash the name of the manufacturer when first turned on. People complaining about this frame are whiners.
I bought this item as an Xmas gift for my g/f and we are both satisfied with it:
PROS
- the screen is bright and displays the colours vividly
- you also have the option of displaying pictures from an SD card or a memory
stick, both of which work perfectly fine
- it also offers a few transitions and different timings- this would allow you to
adjust how long a particular picture is displayed, and the effects when it goes
from one picture to another.
CONS
- the screen itself is a bit small, but i could have deduced that from the
dimensions given in the product description.
i would recommend this product- its like a small TV that allows you to display your most cherished memories from the media mentioned above. i cant see how a smaller screen would be useful, as this one is barely big enough, but i guess it all depends on what you want it for.
I bought this for my girlfriend as a Christmas gift. It is better compared to most of digital frame that I have seen out in the market. My first expression it looks good ( I am easily attracted by shiny products). Its 8inch 800 X 600 resolutions is better than most of the digital photo frame found in the market.
It does not come with any internal memory which is one of the draw back and also you cannot use it with battery. I would probably give it 4+ star if it had those two features. It is very easy to setup. I bought it on amazon.com and paid about $77, I think I paid little more than what I should have.
Pros:
Good resolution screen, shiny, stylish, slides can be randomized and different transition modes , very easy setup.
Cons:
No internal memory, only runs on adapter plugged, no battery support , few limited transition style.
It is a 8-inch Digital Frame features 128 MB internal memory, Aspect ratio 4:3, 800×600 high-resolution picture display, Contrast ratio 500:1. This digital photo frame also supports CF, MD, MS, MMC, SD, and xD memory cards, and USB Thumb Drives; Plays JPEG and EXIF media files. The Digital Photo Frame measures (W x H x D) 6.4 × 8.5 × 0.9 in. and weighs frame and adapter: 21.3 oz.
I recommend this product. - Kodak Easyshare - Digital Photo Frame - Digital Frames - Digital Frame'

Earphones - bose in-ear, iphone
First statement I want to make is please disregard any negative comments from people concerning that these don't give a good seal, don't block out noise, aren't noise isolating, etc. They aren't meant to and never claimed to.
So, for people like me, who do not want outside noise blocked out, do not want to stick anything inside their ear canal, but do want good quality sound and unmatched comfort, then these are the headphones for you. And I do mean, "unmatched comfort" for in ear bud style phones....and I would dare say also an unmatched secure fit for working out, running, etc with the new design. Bose® MIE2 mobile headset
I've been searching for the perfect set of headphones for years. I've never been into the earbud style because they always fall out of my ears. However, I've always liked them because my ears weren't covered. I stuck to the on ear style while searching for the perfect buds. These have never fallen out of my ears, regardless of what I was doing. Bench press- they stayed in, hang cleans(this is a vigorous move)- they stayed in, sprints and distance runs- they stayed, these buds far exceeded my expectations. The only time they came out of my ear was when I took them out. I tried pulling on them and they stayed in. I literally forgot they were in my ears when I was on a five hour flight! The sound quality is not as impressive for the price. They still sound way better than any other head sets I've used. But, for over [...] bucks I expected them to sound close to the Bose On-Ear. Phone calls come in extremely crispy too! My people said they couldn't tell that I was using a headset. They let in some outside noise which is a plus for me because I like to be aware of my surroundings. Hands-down, these are the best ear phones I've ever had.
I use my Iphone quite a bit, both for walking and cycling. I searched high and low for months to find a better set than the standard headphones that Apple provides. I tried the Dr. Dre headphones, the upgraded Apple in-ear headphones, and another pair of sports headphones. I returned every one of them as the sound was no better than the standard Apple headphones. I decided to give Bose a shot. They are the best ear buds I have ever heard. First of all, they fit in your ear very well. It doesn't hurt at all and they don't fall out, even during vigorous exercise. Best of all, they sound great including powerful bass. Most headphones have no bass. This one approaches the base in full headphones. Also, the price is reasonable given the sound and fit quality. You won't be disappointed in these. And no, I don't work for Bose :)
A brief history of my iPod/iPhone headphones:
1. Original Apple - These have always sucked. I use them only if no alternative is available.
2. Original Bose in-ear - Broke in six months, $100 down the tube.
3. Various Sony in-ear - All good, with nice sound and well-designed cases. However, as with other in-ear products they eventually irritated my ear. Plus I wanted a mic.
4. Upgraded Apple in-ear - Better than the original, but not better sound than the Sony ones for twice the price. The microphone was helpful and I could use them with a motorcycle helmet. Anyway, these broke after three months of light use.
5. Bose MIE2 - Bought to replace the broken Apple ones. I wanted a mic, so decided to try these. The sound is the best of all the above, and they are by far the most comfortable. The earpiece design seems to allow them to stay in my ear without actually irritating it.
Note to Bose: The packaging is horrendous; please worry less about the few shoplifters and more about your real customers. Also, the black / white cord is really ugly - I want the cord to be hidden, not an advertisement.
So, five stars overall, but minus one star for packaging and ugly cord.
EDIT: SOME PEOPLE HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING THAT THE WIRE DOES NOT FEATURE VOLUME/FAST FORWARD/REWIND CONTROLS. I SAID THIS MYSELF IN THE REVIEW. THE HEADPHONES CAN IN FACT DO THIS (Tested on iPhone and iPod Touch). I HAVE WRITTEN THE CONTROLS BELOW:
- Next Track: Press ANSWER Button Twice.
- Previous Track: Press ANSWER Button Three Times.
- Fast Forward: Press ANSWER Button ONCE THEN QUICKLY HOLD BUTTON DOWN to Fast Forward.
- Rewind: Press ANSWER Button TWICE THEN QUICKLY HOLD BUTTON DOWN to Rewind.
- Voice Control (iPHONE/iTOUCH ONLY): Hold ANSWER Button Down, THEN SPEAK INTO MIC.
- Pause: Press ANSWER Button Once. Press Again to Play.
- Volume Controls: VOLUME CONTROLS ARE AVAILABLE ON THE MIE2i HEADSET, PRICED AT THE SAME VALUE OF $129.95. Bose®MIE2i mobile headset
I have to say I was slightly sceptical when purchasing these earphones. First of all there was the fact that I had owned the previous generation IE's and have to say I found them uncomfortable (with the tips always coming off or the earphones falling out when I was exercising), and they were overpriced for the sound quality and I was disappointed. In fact this was summed up when a few weeks ago the left earphone stopped working due to poor construction. So I decided to have a look at the new IE2 series and have to say from the outset I was very impressed. It really does seem like Bose has fixed everything wrong with the original IE's to create a truly great pair of earphones. The StayHear tips really do work as opposed to the faulty lanyard with the original series. This means the earphones double up for use in the gym or even running. The sound quality is remarkable when compared to the standard buds you get with mp3 players (apple in particular), it really does make you want to listen to your music all over again simply to hear things you could not in the past. Bose have the audio circuitry and brand new speakers on the exterior of the earphone to help achieve this audio quality. The mobile set is extremely useful as you can press it down to get voice control up on iPhone and double press to change tracks and use the mic to answer calls. One slightly annoying thing was that no volume rocker was attached but this is not really a problem more an inconvenience. Of course with every great thing there is the downside and here it seems to be the price. Getting these earphones will set you back $130 ($100 for the IE2's) as opposed to the $20-40 you would pay for a cheap pair of earphones. However all things considered I would really give them a try, of course I found it difficult to justify spending that amount on earphones at first but after trying them I was hooked. If you buy from Bose direct you even get a free 30 day trial with free return postage if you don't like them. They really are something special and do come with a 1 year guarantee (2 in europe for some reason). You will literally not want to take them off when you try them on and compared to some of Bose's other high end noise cancelling headphones which cost $300+ they are reasonably priced for quality. Of course don't go expecting the sort of quality you would get from QC15's etc. but what you do get is quite special indeed. - Bose - Bose In-ear - Iphone - Earphones'
