Kindle Lighted Cover - kindle covers, kindle 3 cover

I've noticed that like myself customers have been concerned primarily with two things regarding the new lighted case from amazon. These are: 1)The weight and 2) The uneven lighting. My review will briefly discuss these two things.

1)The Weight - The lighted leather case is a nice weight, sturdy and comfortable to hold. In ounces it is about the weight of the kindle itself however don't let that concern you. With the case on it feels like a medium sized paperback, however it is far much more comfortable to hold. It's easy to hold the case open like a book (nice for couch and table type reading) or to fold the front back and close it with the bungee so that the bungee doesn't hang around (this is good for bedtime reading).Closing the front back with bungee keeps the case folded in position and you don't have to worry about it bothering you. BTW THIS CASE FOLDS BACK 100% - Very comfortable. In sum very comfortable to read with the case and very sturdy.

2) The uneven lighting - Amazon's pictures don't do this case justice. The light hits the ENTIRE screen. Yes if you look closely it's brighter in the top right corner then in the bottom left but Amazon's pics make it look the top is lighted while the bottom is dark. There is good light all over the screen. Trust me I'm fussy about these things - the lighting will not bother you, your entire screen will be lighted and it is extremely pleasant to read in the dark.

*Final Thoughts - Great case, good quality, works well, kindle feels very secure and protected (I would feel comfortable slipping this case into my backpack or suitcase and I think it would sustain some mild impact). Lastly hinges are a non-issue, casing of the kindle will not get damaged with normal or even slightly aggressive use. You could damage the kindle by trying to pull the back of the case but you'd have to really force it to cause any sort of damage to your kindle. The hinges work fine and should not be a concern to any case user.

Update 1st December 2010:

Have now been using the case for 3 months. Leather still looks impeccable. Some people expressed concern that the bungee cord might loosen with use. I have not experienced any loosening so far. Quality of the product has proven outstanding. I've occasionally spilled or messed the cover, just a wipe with a damp cloth has cleaned it up, and the case looks like new. Have to admit I enjoy the feel of the case in my hand, there's just something great about taking your kindle to a coffee shop in this case, it just looks and feels so classy. Also with regard to the hinges: I have had no scratches on my kindle or any other issues, so I remain convinced that the hinges are a non issue. Kindle Lighted Leather Cover, Burgundy Red (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle)

I was hesitant to buy this cover mostly due to the pictures in its listing, which seem to show a light that doesn't even extend to the opposite corner. The fact that I have not been impressed with the Amazon's Kindle covers in the past didn't help. I went ahead and purchased it because the cover I wanted isn't available yet and I don't like to take my Kindle out and about without a cover. Now I am glad that I went ahead and bought it.

PROS:

1. The light is much better than I thought it would be. Using it in a darkened room I found that the light did the job very well. In a pitch black room, it performs even better. While the screen corner opposite the light is a bit dimmer than other areas, there is no problem reading the page at all.

2. The light gets its power from the Kindle itself, through the gold-plated hinges which attach it to the cover, so batteries are a thing of the past. When your Kindle goes to sleep, the light will go out as well. It will also turn off when you slide it back into the case.

3. The cover is slim, well-fitted and very easy to attach and detach using the hinges. The inside has good padding. The leather outer surface has a nice pebbled texture with the exception of a smooth area along the edge of the front. While stiff enough to protect the reader, the cover is slight flexible and the front easily folds behind when reading so you can hold your Kindle with one hand if you like.

4. A great plus is that the cover has an elastic cord that fits into a groove on the front of it. This holds your cover closed (unlike the original Kindle 2 cover that would flop open in your purse & let things slide into it) and easily distinguishes the front from the back--important as many owners of the Kindle 2 cover accidentally opened it from the back, which could cause cracking along the Kindle's spine.

CONS:

I haven't found any, really. The light Is a bit hard (stiff) to pull out of the cover, but then you wouldn't want it to be flopping out when you don't want to use it so that is more of a Pro than a Con.

The one concern I do have is about pulling the light in and out--I wonder if whatever wiring or conductor that is used to get the power from the hinges to the light will eventually break. But that is something to find out down the road. Right now, the more I use this cover, the more I like it. - Kindle 3 Cover - Kindle Accessory - Kindle Covers - Kindle 3 Covers'

Electric Sharpener - woodworking, dry sharpening

I'm as susceptible to good advertising as the next guy and while Pro-Tool Mfg. makes a nice product, they are masters of marketing.

So moving past the hype, here's my take. I've been hand sharpening my chisels, gouges and planes since I started woodworking and the only reason I don't do more work with my hand tools is because I hate using my limited time maintaining the edges necessary to do precise work. Enter the "WorkSharp WS200". The tool is of a simple, straight forward design. The body is constructed of high impact plastic and what appears to be an aluminum alloy of some kind, making it light and I assume pretty rugged although I haven't yet thrown it at anything to find out.

Getting to the point (a little sharpening joke there), the unit is a snap to set up and effectively turned basic sharpening into a speedy, painless process. Much of hand sharpening is in the set up and while the WS unit does NOT do away with the need to fine hone your tools, it virtually eliminates 80% of the set up time allowing you to move through the basic process of sharpening in just a few ( 2 to 3 ) minutes. For many folks this basic process is all that they may ever need in which case this unit becomes all the more attractive and sensible. Even for those individuals like me who NEED "scary" sharp tools it is a useful and valuable asset, saving me quite a bit of time and providing me with an opportunity to use exactly the right tool for every job by eliminating my biggest excuse for doing otherwise, the time involved in sharpening,

So, is this going to make every woodworker into a hand tool aficionado? Probably not, but it will save everyone who buys it a lot of time and effort and give you good value in that respect. It will also provide a pretty nice edge for your tools. Work Sharp WS2000 Tool Sharpener

I was debating on getting this or the WS3000. I decided(or rather, my budget decided) to try the smaller model. I was not disappointed. I'm sure the WS3000 has some more advanced features I could use, but the WS2000 works just fine for my small shop. The edge vision wheel makes it easy to put a sharp edge on my lathe turning chisels. The chisel port works great, also. The first thing I sharpened was a cheap old chisel I use to scrape glue. After a few minutes it was razor sharp.

If you have the extra money, go ahead and get the WS3000, but if you're on a budget, the WS2000 won't let you down.

The tool does exactly what it claims to do and does it well. I ruined the edge on a three quarter inch Marple chisel last year and never bothered to dress it up due to the time required and my dislike for honing blades. With this tool I had a new, sharp edge on the chisel in just a few minutes. I have also sharpened knives and axes with it with good results.

I do have a couple of small problems with it, though. I found that chisels narrower then one half inch did not grind straight across (it looked as if the chisel was slightly cocked in the sharpener) so from now on I will only sharpen chisles one half inches and wider. This isn't really a problem, though. Narrower chisels are easier to sharpen by hand and the WS2000 can still be used to achieve a proper angle on the chisel which can then be finished by hand. My other problem is with the finish. The 220 grit discs leave a fairly rough face on the chisel when compared with a stone. Not a big problem but having gotten used to what a wet stone can do it looks unsightly and purists will complain that a rough finish causes too much drag. The faces can, of course, be touch up by hand, but I plan on getting some very fine grit discs and see if a smoother face can be obtained.

I have some very fine carving tools which, while I have not tried sharpening them on the WS2000 yet, I will problably continue to sharpen by hand. While the machine runs very smoothly it fills a little overwhelming for the small stuff. Maybe when I ruin one of my small tools I'll try it out.

Overall a very good tool and I would recommend it to anyone who, like myself, both hates to hone blades and isn't very good at it. Just be aware that it won't give wet stone-like results and seems to be more suited for relatively larger tools.

Really, all those weak moments where I grabbed the cheaper hand plane or bargain chisels have just about paid off. Usually it's just counted as a frustrating loss of time and money, but I put that HD block plane blade through the WS2000 and I covered the floor with walnut shavings in just a few minutes. Does it get any cheaper than HF? I put their 7 dollar set of chisels through and I was able to curve stop my huge chamfered edge. Admittedly, it did work better with my slightly more expensive chisel though, which makes me think it at least lets each tool reach its full potential (however low that may be).

This sharpener is really something I never thought I'd use, especially at $100. But then I looked through catalogs of sharpening stones, solutions and grinders - suddenly $100 didn't seem so bad.

I'm a little unsure of whether I'm doing the hand sharpening correctly though, since you sort of eyeball the angle and adjust this little handle bar like thing, but it seems to be working when I put the blades back into use.

The device is rather convenient for sharpening the chisel-like tools. However, if you try to sharpen a mere knife, you'll discover that it is almost impossible. To be precise, one side is sharpened fine, but sharpening another side is a challenge.

Also, I failed to find the required 150 mm abrasive disks in hardware stores in my area (Mass.) The 6" disks I found don't have a central hole (not a big deal, of course) and are 2 mm wider. This is OK for the top side, however, to be used on the bottom side, the edge must be trimmed.

Summing up, to sharpen chisels and likes, the tool is fine. But it cannot substitute a classical grinder if you don't have one. Also, you are stuck with proprietor abrasive disks, especially for slotted ones. - Chisel - Sharpener - Dry Sharpening - Woodworking'

Screen Protectors - screen protectors, nook

Good deal of 2 for $9-ish. Used it on my mom's color Nook and planning to use the other when I get one.

For me, it was easy to install, I did not have to re-position, but it helps to practice so you can eyeball where to place the film.

Make sure you clean the screen first. Another reason to get a screen protector when you get your e-reader. The included micro-fiber cleaning cloth was a nice touch :)

For first-timers, the film has a plastic coating on each side. Imagine a plastic film "sandwich" = Side 1 plastic sheet - The actual screen protector - Side 2 plastic sheet.

To install the film, you peel a little off Side 1 and place it at the top of the screen, and peel from underneath as you apply. As you do this, keep an eye out for air bubbles. Once Side 1 is applied, rub out the air bubbles with the included card and when you are satisfied, peel off Side 2, which is the top. Once you peel off Side 2 the screen protector is in place. I was actually afraid that I didn't do it right, as the protector is so thin and fit so perfectly. I could only tell it was installed from how the screen felt - to me it felt a little thicker, but it functions perfectly. There is no change in screen color either.

Definitely well worth the price for the protection!

p.s. a cute little fish skeleton keychain was included, love extras :) iShoppingdeals - (2 Packs) LCD Screen Protector Guard Film for Barnes & Noble NOOK COLOR eBook Reader (WiFi)

The screen cover fit very well after a couple of attempts and a little bit help from some extra hands. For the price you pay and the fact you get 2 of these, I believe it is a good deal. I have not taken it out in the sun, but as far as I know it's only designed to help protect the screen and not to reduce glare. This protector stays put very well while still allowing you to reapply it if you mess up during installation. A few other pros: doesn't interfere with touch screen sensitivity, not too thick but not too thin, washable, and comes double layered so when you are pushing the air bubbles out with a credit card or the given card - scratches aren't left on the actual screen protector itself (it will make more sense once you buy and apply this).

Cons: it wasn't free.

I bougght this for my kids' Nook Colors they recieved for Christmas. I was easy to put on, and came with a cloth to clean the screen and a card to help remove bubbles when applying. Plus it keeps the air bubbles out. A great product overall.

Putting this thing on the Nook Color is probably one of the most challenging things I've done. It's like any other screen protector and does the job okay. I don't know why it should cost $7.99 . I've given up trying to get rid of all the bubbles. It seems to be too big on one side. If I got 6 of these, I might get one to go on very well.

I did not get any cards with which to push out the bubbles out.

The price for this is good and it comes with a small cloth for cleaning and a small card-type plastic for you to push out the blubble while you paste screen protector. I am not an expect in its application but the good news is that you can redo it again and again and it still stay in shape. The price that I have paid came in 2 sets, which I think that it is worth the price that I have paid. The only con is that it is a finger print magnet.

I bought the B&N protectors and after about 2 months of use, it got pretty scratched up so I replaced it with these. The application, as with ALL screen protectors is a bit tricky if you try to go fast, so take it slow and think about what you are doing. Finger cheese (grease) seems to build up less on this protector less than my other protector and cleans very easily. It is also well constructed and comes with a nice little cloth to clean your screen with before the application process. Great for the price!

Sturdy, quality screen protector with a hard surface that mimics the actual screen. Feels almost as good as leaving the screen bare. Would buy again in a heartbeat. Comes w/ the protective plastic shielding on both sides so that you don't scratch the protector while you apply it. I use the same style protector on my phone (different company), and prefer it over the rubbery/tacky surface of other products.

The screen protector is specifically designed for the Nook Color so it fits perfectly. Though I suggest taking a nail clipper and snip off a tiny bit off the top 2 corners because of the rounded inner edges of the bezel. It'll make a perfectly flush fit off the top instead of leaving a tiny sliver of space.

It's my misunderstanding at fault for my dislike of the product. I was under the impression that the film cover would reduce the reflective glare on my Nook.. that isn't the case with these covers. Aside from that, the covers were difficult for me to try to attach, and in all honesty ended up not using them at all. - Nook - Screen Protectors'

Ipod Touch 4th Generation Case - anti-glare, ipod touch 4g case

With several low-cost options for screen protectors, I ordered a few different kinds not knowing what to expect. Like some others, this one had roughly an equal number of one-star and five-star reviews. This protector, from TDC-Direct, was the first to arrive, so it was the first one I tried. The application instructions seemed self explanatory, so I did not bother with the on-line video. The firm, removable backing on both sides made proper alignment a snap. There was a couple of small bubbles at first, but they smoothed out easily. I am now getting great protection with no sign of peeling. Each protector even came with its own microfiber for pre-application cleaning. Considering I got three of these for less than two bucks including shipping, this is easily a five-star purchase for me. Three LCD Screen Guards / Protectors for Apple iPod Touch 4 / 4G / 4th Gen

Well I don't really know why all this people had trouble with this protector, but ill give my review! so it shipped in like 4days! When i got it I thought ''Well lets see if it works'' and so there was a paper with a youtube link on it just to HELP YOU and to apply this correctly, I followed the instructions and it worked! no bubbles, nothing! And it looks like it doesnt have any protector! so I recomend you to buy this one, at the end its just $1 and FOLLOW instructions! and you'll see no you wont get any bubbles and it will look great! I still have the first protector ON and I'll tell you that it will be there for a long time cause it just WORKED!

Nobody listen to the negative reviews. This product works fine...The reviews that bubbles appeared behind the protector are only evident of someone who does not know how to apply the protectors or does not have a clean screen to begin with. The screen has to be absolutly clear of any dirt or dust particles or it WILL leave little bubbles, so make sure the screen is completely clean before you apply. I cleaned my screen off very well and applied the protector from one corner to the opposite corner and i do not have one bubble...Fits perfect.

This product is alright. I purchased their screen protectors for my HTC Hero about 4 months ago, and am still on the first one (it doesn't have any scratches!). That being the case, I came back to them when I purchased an iPod Touch (4th gen). The screen protectors are still the same quality, still easy to put on and handle, but there is a second hole on the screen protector on the top right. It has a hole for the camera in the top center, and a hole for the button on the bottom center. I assume this third one is for something in the iPhone, but with this product being marketed towards the iPod, you would think they would alter it enough to properly cover the entire screen.

That being said, the hole is barely noticeable, and you can't see it at all in the images Amazon provides. It's still a good product, I was just surprised to find an extra opening in the product and didn't want other consumers to go through the same surprise.

Other than the fact that it took me two tries to get the screen lined up correctly with the holes, this was a really great product. The application was simple and i only had one bubble on the entire screen. The only advise i can give to make this product better for potential buyers is: Read the Instructions.

I read many of the reviews that were very neg. about this product. I am not sure what the problem was that they were having but it worked great for me. If I had no issues applying then anybody can do it. I know nothing when it comes to this stuff. Maybe they did not read the directions. I think for the money this was a great deal and worked as described.

No instructions with the Guards. If you haven't put some on before, you will have to look up how to do it. Even so, I messed up the first one. The second one went on OK. They do seem to scratch easily. But for the price they are worth it as long as you expect to change them every so often.

Good product. The only thing I didn't like about it was the process of sticking it on the screen because it leaves you with a messing ending. It takes a litlle cleaning. Overall good product and would recommend to any one with Ipod touch 4

Good screen protectors for the low price they were at (Apple charges 10 times what I ended up paying this vendor). They're cut exactly to the iPod Touch's screen size and don't interfere with the operation of the device. The corners don't peel and the material doesn't scratch easily. What more can you ask?

Item arrived and right away I had a bad feeling as the English used on the package was rather poor. Following the application instructions found out that things did not make any sense besides the fact that the "applicator" cardboard used to smooth the guard was not included either. The screen guards had two sticker tabs (blue and red) attached and they read: "remove before applying the guard"; that did not make sense because then you couldn't peel the "cover film" from the guard if you remove them prior to the application. After going through the second guard and finally having it attached to the iPod, when attempting to remove the (blue) sticker left on the guard it did not come off completely leaving half of the paper on and a very difficult to remove layer of glue. Finally cleaned the glue but several air bubbles of air were impossible to remove. Not very happy with this thing - Ipod Accessories - Anti-glare - Ipod Touch 4th Generation - Ipod Touch 4g Case'

Carpal Tunnel - ergonomic keyboard, ergonomic

If you're buying the Kinesis Keyboard, this accessory kit is an absolute must have. Without it, the keyboard is goofy looking and odd. With it, the keyboard is truly ergonomic.

I'd say the keyboard and the accessory pack went a lot farther towards helping my wrist heal than a doctor's visit, x-rays, and a custom brace. I no longer wear the brace, but still swear by this keyboard. Kinesis Freestyle VIP - Keyboard accessories kit

I find the palm rests quite essential to support my palms when typing in a titled position. It's plastic and comes with an adhesive backed foam sheet to paste on for comfort.

Unfortunately, the tilts that attach to the keyboard are not sturdy at all. I'm afraid they might break soon.

Each tilt consists of actually 2 pieces. The first is a flat like plastic piece with 2 pegs that attach to the keyboard. The second attaches to the first piece and rests on the desk. The two pieces are connected with at 3 points - top, bottom and centre.

The top and bottom points are just attached with a very thin plastic rod about 5 mm long and 2mm thick. It has snapped out twice when I adjusted the keyboard already. See the image I uploaded on the product page.

Given the USD 39 price tag, one could expect it to be more durably constructed.

It's not that often that a product is just right. This keyboard kit helped my wrist pain significantly and is more than easy to set up and use. It is also very versatile, in that you can adjust the components' distance from each other, and when "tented," at two possible angles. I didn't give it five stars for durability only because it is made with a lighter plastic, which his probably very durable, but I can't be sure. It comes with wrist pads for the wrist rest area, but I don't use them. Without this kit, I wouldn't keep the Freestyle keyboard.

I have had some problems with my right wrist. I noticed that two things make it worse, tennis and computer usage. The combination of the keyboard with this attachment and the purchase of the vertical mouse has practically solved my problem. Worked better than braces.

There are two attributes I was not able to determine either from Amazon's description, other reviews, or the Kinesis website product description: 1) It is not possible to use this kit without the palm rests attached; and 2) the folding legs won't stay locked in place when moving the keyboard sections.

The first is not a flaw, but it does require more room on your desktop than would otherwise be possible, so slightly disappointing. The second is a real problem. To switch between the 10- and 15-degree positions, the legs swing in and out on an up-down axis (i.e., draw a line from the space bar to the number row at top). But the legs don't lock in place at all. This is not a problem for the 10-degree position, because this is its natural resting position. But the 15-degree position remains solid only when the keyboard is not moved -- as soon as you shift either half of the keyboard slightly to the left or right, plops back down into the 10-degree position. Easy enough to put back, but annoying and extremely stupid from a design perspective.

Also, while the platform feels stable and solid in either position, note that there are 6 points of contact with the desk in the 10-degree position and only 4 points of contact in the 15-degree position. Again, it feels solid in either position, but very strange design decision. This is not a flaw, however. The non-locking position switching mechanism most definitely is a flaw.

Love it! Thia KB has saved me from carpal tunnel syndrome. I was having a lot of pain before I got this KB. Now I have none. Only things I don't like are the fact that there is not a separate numbers KB and that the backspace and delete key are too close together. Neither issue is a major problem however.

If you buy the freestyle keyboard, it's useless w/o out this kit or the incline kit.

Now in regards to this kit: I like my keyboard raised at the palm level and sloping away from me, it's far more natural feeling to my hands. In fact I use a beautiful piece of 1" x 2" wood to elevate the front of the keyboard. Actually I'm kidding the wood is disguisting. And with this kit it's too much. So I'm out looking for something that elevates the front just about 1/2". So I'm saying this kit would be more useful if it allowed an adjustment to incline, front to back, not just side to side.

These are suggestions, not really complaints. This is very valuable addition to the Freestyle keyboard. - Ergonomic Keyboard - Ergonomic - Carpal Tunnel - Accessory'

Cables Unlimited Serial Ata Cable Kit - sata cables, power cables

I bought these based on the same product's reviews on newegg, and they worked great for me! I saw another amazon review that said they didn't stick in place well, and I'm sorry to hear they didn't work for them. I have been building computers for many years now and these are just as good as any cables you can spend a lot more for. They have metal clasps on the sata cables that hold the connections in place, and the connection's so secure I can pick up a 3.5in drive just by the cable. The power adapter cable is useful as well, and essential for many computers. Used it to add a backup drive in a server and it's been working flawlessly this whole time. Cables Unlimited Serial ATA Cable Kit

I must admit, I'm a fairly tolerent person, but these cables moved me to write in order to warn others and ease my frustration. These cables will absolutely not stay connected to my disk drives! A breeze from the cooling fans, nay, a stray thought, and these puppies pop out (the power connectors are fine). An absolute and total waste of money. I gave these one star, only because I couldn't figure out how to give them zero. DO NOT BUY THESE.

My external USB drive failed. I took it apart and was surprised to learn that the enclosure was bad and the 300 gb drive (a SATA!) worked fine - after changing the jumper settings. I am now using it as a second internal drive. The cables work great.

It's a cable... just a cable. It's designed to fit per its specifications, which means that you'd have to actually do a little research ahead of time to see if it'd be an appropriate fit for the sockets involved, length required, and angle of the HDD within the case (though this last point is minor, as I'll explain).

Yes, I had to turn it at an angle which I ordinarily wouldn't be accustomed to doing so whilst installing a new HDD and cable (which is what some other posters mentioned may occur). So, it's twisted around a little awkwardly, yet plugged in, and stays in place without an issue. I will state that I can see how it can easily slip out, so I could recommend a few twists to shorten it down and "tighten" its placement once plugged in. Slightly extra work and ingenuity (*cough*), but look at how little you've paid for the cable and the fact that you're likely installing it yourself!

It does the job perfectly: the data stream is consistent, the product works as expected, I will import it into the next system I'm building, and I was moreover again quite shocked at just how cheap it was for its length (which is more than ample in most cases, literally).

I ordered this cable set along with a new hard drive for a new Windows 7 installation. The system experienced odd, intermittent problems that led to several months of troubleshooting the drive and the operating system. But it was actually a bad cable all along. I eventually had eliminated all potential drive or software issues, and was left only with the possibility of a bad cable. I put a new cable set of a different brand in, and have not had a problem since. I threw this bad cable set away.

When I bought my new internal hard drive (bare drive), I didn't realize my desktop machine, which I knew supports SATA, didn't come with the connecting cable (I hadn't looked inside recently). I ordered this cable because it was reasonably priced. It arrived in a few days; works just fine. (It DID take some tweaking of BIOS; formatting; reinstalling my system... to get it all working.)

These cables do exactly what you would expect them to do. Connections are fine, the locking mechanism is firm and secure. They fit perfectly with my barebone SSD. The price of these cable makes it a good purchase. - Internal - Power Cables - Sata Cables - Sata'

Breathe Right - prevent snoring, breathe right

My husband snores like there's no tomorrow and this is the only thing I've found that stops him. They don't last all night but they work for a decent period of time - a few hours maybe? I'm not sure because I've fallen asleep! And the minty breath is a bonus!

To know if these will work for you, though, you need to know if the cause of snoring is in the nose or the throat. If it's in the nose, these won't do anything for the problem. If the cause is in the throat, try them. They're well worth the price for a good night's sleep!

Although dubious at first, when presented with a "gift" of Snore Relief, I gave them a try. Was surprised to find that they do help. Somehow helps to moisten the throat all night which contributes to easier breathing. It's also nice to wake up to a minty mouth!

These seem to help for a short time (and make your breath smell good!) but you might have to re-apply sometime overnight, like when you get up to use the bathroom, in order to have no snoring all night long.

Thumbs up! This product has worked for me. It has virtually eliminated my snoring problem. The strips are easy to use and they have a good taste. My wife used to complain that my snoring was interrupting her sleep. Since I started using Snore Relief a few months ago, the complaints have stopped. If you snore, this is definitely worth a try.

If you purchase this product make sure to look at the box carefully. If the package says Distributed by CNS, Inc then the product is EXPIRED. I contact Glaxo Smith Kline that purchased all Breathe Right Products in 2006 and gave them the Lot Number from the bottom of the box and they then informed me that this product has a shelf-life of only TWO years and to return the product immediately. Again, only use this product if the box shows Distributed By: GlaxoSmithKline and even then I would call them and provide them with the Lot Number to be sure! I've used this product before and had some relief with it, so that is why it gets 3 stars. Thanks for reading.

Breathe Right Snore Relief Throat Strips, Wintergreen, 30-Count Packages (Pack of 2)

I've been using the Snore Relief Throat Strips in conjunction with the Breathe Right Nasal Strips,(Extra), so I'm not able to say definitively if the Throat Strips work are not. As long as my wife doesn't complain about my snoring, then I'll keep on using the Throat Strips with the Nasal Strips. In essence, I'm shooting flies with a shot gun to eliminate snoring and keep it that way.

I am a light sleeper and my husband snores like there's no tomorrow. We discovered Snore Relief Throat Strips and now I can get a good nights sleep. I can really tell the difference when he forgets to use Snore Relief. Husband has tried the nose strips and the throat spray, but he likes the throat strips much better. Snore Relief has saved my marriage!!

It's a little hit-and-miss with these. They do make some difference - my partner didn't snore nearly as loud in the beginning of the night... which is the time that matters most to me since I can't fall asleep when he's sawing logs like crazy. Then as the night wore on, it did get worse. But I'll take what I can get. I give these an "ok."

This has been the only thing that worked for my husband's snoring. For years we have tried all sorts of "cures" such as nose strips, sprays, pillows, mouthpiece, etc. My father saw these and bought them for him, but were set aside (as nothing has worked before) so we forgot about them. After he found them in his nighstand, one night in desperation I asked my husband to try them. I was very surprised when I was able to sleep the whole night through. Thinking it was just a coincidence I made him use these a few more nights, and they worked then too. Now I can tell when he forgets because of the loud, constant snoring. Every night I remind him to use his Throat Strip. He thinks it is not possible that something so simple could solve our problem, and maybe I finally got used to it, but after 14 years of dealing with snoring I know that the nights he uses this he does not snore and the nights he forgets he snores as usual. We have been using these for about 2 months and they are still efective, which makes me extremely happy. I have 2 fears--that they will be discontinued, and that his body will get used to these and they will become ineffective. For now I am happy that I have been able to buy more packs from amazon. - Prevent Snoring - Snore Reducing Aids - Mint - Breathe Right'

Large Laptop - large laptop, cooling

You name it, Zalman, Belkin, Antec, Notepal Infinite, I've almost tried them all, some even triple the price. The U2 is by far better. Its light weight, simple design, and super super quiet. What I like most is the movable / positionable fans allowing you pin point where the hot spots are which is unique to different brands/model of laptops. In most cases, I don't even turn on the fan. The vented holes allow good air circulation. My 15" MBP typically stays below 50C and it fits on top of it perfectly. The large rubber pads keep itself from sliding. For the price you can't find a better gig than this - at least I haven't. I give it a 5-stars. Cooler Master NotePal U3 Notebook Cooler with 3 Fans R9-NBC-8PCK-G

This cooler is pretty amazing. I repositioned the two fans right over my laptop hard drive and CPU where my laptop is the hottest and they actually keep them pretty cool. All other laptop fans that I have seen have a central fan, leaving the right side of my laptop where my hard drive is really hot. My hard drive died recently and I think the overheating (I use my laptop over 8h/day) was a major factor. Now, instead of it being about 53 degrees Celsius (127 F) without a fan, it stays around 36 degrees Celsius (97 F)! Much better.

I like that it also raises the back of my laptop. The only problem I have is that you can't use it to store and carry your laptop as intended unless you remove the two fans, at least with my laptop. Much thinner ones may fare better. I just don't have the time to remove the fans, rearrange everything to put the laptop into the slot, and then put them into my backpack in such a way that the disconnected fans aren't damaged every time I need to move my laptop. Reassembling from there is also a pain. So I don't use that extra "protection and storage" feature and just keep the fans attached and my laptop on top of the frame, even in my backpack.

Aside from that, this laptop fan works great. I can barely hear it, it is made of sturdy material and doesn't slide, it fits great (about the same size as my 15.4" laptop), and the underside of my laptop feels only slightly warm after being on all day with the fan beneath it. Even without connecting the fans, it does a decent job cooling. I definitely recommend it.

I love it's styling and design, I am very happy with it. I especially like that its made of lightweight aluminum, and the fact that you can place the fans where its need most, is what convinced me to buy it. When you place your notebook on it, it gives it the perfect angle to work on and the rubber corners keep your computer from slipping and it also doubles as a carrier to help prevent any scratches on your notebook. The cooling? It does quite well, it lowers my computers' temp on average of 8 degrees. I added the Thermaltake Mobile Fan 12 External USB Cooling Fan 12CM AF0007 and the combination works far better than I could ever have hoped for. I would have preferred that the fans had a little more "umpf" (more air flow) or the option to purchase additional fans like the ones that come with the Notepal U2. The bottom line is that the Notepal U2 is the best cooler I have used, mixed with the aluminum construction, design, and PRICE, you can't go wrong.

First let me say I've owned over six different lap top coolers in my life. This is BY FAR the best. First of all, it is SILENT. The only way I can tell it's working is to put my hand near one of the fans. Secondly, it does it's job exactly as promised. . .it doesn't blow air into the computer, it pulls the heat away. It does have an approximately 3 inch high slant to it, I suppose it has to, to accommodate the fans, and I don't really care for that, but that's a minor quibble for an otherwise perfect product.

This cooler was exactly what I was looking for. You can set up the fans to point at the hot spots, and it cools very well.

HOWEVER, I have had the thing less than three weeks, and already the USB connector that powers the fans is breaking. I have to jiggle it just right to get the fans to go, and it has rapidly gotten to the point where I can't keep the fans going for more than a couple of seconds at a time. When are people going to start making laptop wires and connectors that actually last a while?

Construction: 5 stars.

solid enough to support the weight of the MBP plus some.

Finish: 5 stars.

Doesn't look cheap.

Fans: 4 stars for the fan. 5 stars for the removable feature.

Not noisy, but i can hear them when the room is really quite. It doesn't bother me a bit. The removable feature is extremely useful for MBP.

Functions: 5 stars.

Before, watching youtube always brought the temp to 70C. Now, 50-57C depending on how many applications, etc... open.

Package: 5 stars.

The product package is simple. Amazon shipped the package with a gigantic box, which protected it very well during shipping.

Recommendation:

Headphone Extension Cords - earphones, maxell

Maybe Maxell has redesigned the cord since the previous set of reviews, but it is working great for me.

I was very hesitant to buy the the cord because of the past poor reviews but figured it was worth giving a chance since all I wanted to do was be able to listen to Napster while running on my treadmill at home and my other alternatives were either 1) buy an MP3 player (expensive) or 2) crank up the volume on the computer loud enough to be heard over the motor of the treadmill (not too nice for the rest of the family). I have the cord stretched to it's full 20' length, from one room into another, with no loss in sound quality and the connections have all stayed tight and never popped loose (something that has surprised me given the tension on the cord). Maxell HP-20 Headphone Extension Cord with Adapters

Many of the other reviews have already touched on the ups and downs of this product. The sound quality and durability are very good, and the adapters are very handy--especially the two-prong airplane adapter. The cord is a bit heavy, but that comes with it's length and sturdy construction.

Here's a tip: I needed an extension because I move around a lot in my office. I don't often have to leave my chair, though--I just roll around between bookcases, filing cabinets, and my desk. What I've done is attach a velcro tie to the end of the extension cord near where the headphones plug in. Then I can quickly tie it to the arm of my chair. The cable stretches to let me reach any part of the room, and I have enough length on the headphone cord to allow me to stand up. Since the only weight on the headphones comes from their own cord, I don't notice the weight of the extension.

I bought this extension cord solely because it claimed to be 20 feet long -- so I could listen to CDs while doing computer work. The cord, plus the 5-foot cord on the headphones, would give me about 25 feet -- more than I needed for the distance. However, this cord was so tightly spiraled that it stretched only about 10 feet before the plug pulled out -- useless for my purpose. I have been straightening it between the doorknobs on two doors off and on ever since I got it, but it still hasn't straightened out enough for me to use it.The sound quality is good, but I don't need a headset when I'm in the living room with the stereo. Unless and until the doorknob caper works -- and I'm about to give up -- I wasted my money. Which means, BTW, I also wasted my money on the headset --which I bought solely because I could get a 20-ft extension cord.I think the manufacturer should have been candid about the distance this cord actually will reach -- which is only about half the stated distance. Saying "up to 20 feet" is, IMO, an unreasonable exaggeration.

I've had good sound quality from this cord, even when running the signal to amplified speakers that fill up the room. It's true that the length is understated but I only needed about 10 feet so it's fine for my purposes. I plan on getting a second one for my other computer system.

Most of the time sounds through this cord are much quiter than they sound when I hook the headphones up directly to the source. When it isn't so quiet (this cord is temperamental) odd noises are accentuated, and speech is garbled. I could of course just have a faulty one, and most might conduct sounds perfectly. I'm giving one star to my specific cord.

This item was, for me, a waste of money. I bought it, along with some earphones, so I could listen to TV witt volume turned higher after my husband goes to bed,(I'm loosing my hearing & he's a very light sleeper). The connector to the earphone isn't tight enough , so the audio keeps breaking up. I have to hold it (just exactly right, mind you) in position to use it at all - so I don't!

I needed an extension cord to attach to my earbuds to give me more mobility while connected to the computer. I no longer consider Sony a choice for anything due to their rapidly declining build quality in the past couple years. I was hesitant on this purchase but the price was right so I went for it. I've been using them for over a month now and am very pleased with the product. Yeah, I know it's a headphone extension cord but there seems to be few viable options on Amazon.com and I wanted to let people know that this is a worthwhile purchase. - Earphones - Cable - Maxell - Headphones'

Multipurpose Paper White - multipurpose paper, inkjet paper

I really like this paper a lot. It is a slight bit heavier and stiffer than most, which I like. The whiteness and brightness are also very good. I thought the price was excellent for a quality paper, as was the shipping and delivery time. All in all, a very good deal and I would recommend this product to anyone with an ink jet printer. I have an HP Deskjet Model 895CSE and it works very well. HP All-in-One Printing Paper, 96 Brightness, 22 lb, Letter Size (8.5 x 11), 500 Sheets/Ream (20701-0)

This paper is a bit stronger and a bit brighter than the standard 20 lb. bond paper. The brightness factor helps the printed word stand out more, especially noticeable with older laser printers that uses black ink that seems more like dark grey. Also, the heavier weight means the paper is more substantial and it takes more klutzyness to accidentally rip it. My work always stands out on this paper - just compare it to what your office uses! This paper works well with my laser and my laser jet printer. Having sold copiers in my deep past, I can tell it would work well in copiers, too. I wish it were made in a recycled version.

This is quality paper that feels a little thicker than the printer paper I have used before. I haven't had problems with the printer grabbing two sheets at a time since I've been using this. Print jobs look crisp on it and the colors show up bright.

Shipment arrived with damage to box corner which damaged the same corner on the paper. I really expected a smoother and thicker paper. Paper would be OK for quick prints but nothing I would use for professionalism or any paper I needed to turn in at school. Got the K-mart paper cheaper and much better quality. You can print pictures on this paper as opposed to the HP paper. Bought because HP product and my printer is HP and I would not use it for a good print out or pictures. - Multipurpose Paper - Paper - Multipurpose Paper White - Inkjet Paper'

Panasonic Bread Machine

[Between 4 and 4.5 stars]The Panasonic SD-YD250 is pretty much the state of the art in bread machine technology in mid-2003. It's one of the larger units around with a 2.5 lb. loaf capacity. This size will also eat up your counter or cupboard space: you need just under 14" of width and height, and 10" of depth, so keep that in mind when you order. The bread consistency is excellent. It's even pretty good in the "rapid" mode, though the results are a bit better in the standard bake mode so that's what I generally use. Also, the "rapid" mode for whole wheat or multigrain bread is 3 hours (vs. 5 hours standard), so it's not like you can start the machine at the beginning of a meal and expect completed bread before you leave the table. The fastest full cycle -- "rapid" bake mode for white bread -- is 1hr 55min.The SD-YD250 is quieter than most earlier bread makers; however, you'll still hear the clicking and whirring as it mixes and kneads the dough. It's a neat idea to wake up to the smell of freshly-baked bread but the machine isn't quiet enough to run in the bedroom unless you're a VERY sound sleeper. The options for this machine include the following:o basic/rapid bakeo immediate start/timer delayo white/whole wheat/multigraino sandwich (soft crust)o crust color light/medium/darko raisin (pause and beep to add fruit or nuts)o dough knead without bakeo bake without dough kneadNote that not all of these options can be combined. For instance: you only get crust color selection for white bread, and sandwich mode for white and whole wheat; multigrain bread always has a dark, tough crust (although the bread inside the crust is moist and well-textured).The container inside really is nonstick (based on my not-so-lengthy use since I bought it) and the kneading blade does very little damage to the finished loaf. Ease of use and cleanup are both excellent.Bread results are quite sensitive to variations in the ingredients in either weight, consistency, or age. Always use fresh BREAD flour and fresh yeast (bread machine yeast recommended) and the right amount of salt, sugar, and flour. The recipes in the included book specify flour weight in units like 16 3/4 oz., so it's HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you get a digital kitchen scale for good results. Note that this will require still more counter space.Summary: a very good machine, but you'll need a fair amount of counter space and attention to details to get the best results from it.

I purchased this machine as a replacement for a Philips bread machine I've had for a couple of years. It's the third bread machine I've purchased for myself, and had bought its predecessor (the SD-250) for my Parents some time ago. My Philips packed up (the bread tin broke away from its base), and they don't make spares, so I have to throw the whole machine in the bin - definitely won't buy another Philips anything. My parents have been most impressed with the Panasonic, and it's been personally recommended to me by other people, so after reading all the reviews on Amazon.com I decided to buy one.So, to the point, I'm thoroughly impressed with this machine. It is solid and quiet. I took the first loaf I made with it and sliced it to find an absolutely even loaf (even from the 1:55 rapid mode). All the other machines I've had have had some level of streaking or unevenness in the bread. As for all the other criticism of the recipe book for its use of weight rather than volume measurements for flour, it is a far more accurate way of measuring flour for any baking. Also the manual has since been updated (no doubt as a result of these criticisms), and now shows the approximate volume equivalents in all the recipes.

You get what you pay for in this world and the Panasonic SD-YD250 is a perfect example. Quiet as a mouse. No jumping around the counter and whining and improperly mixing as a Breadman we purchased (and returned) did. Had another Panasonic for 8 years. Decided to replace it when the pan seal failed and we checked out the cost of a replacemtnt pan (not realizing we could replace just the paddle mechanism/seal.) Thought we could get by on the cheap with the Breadman. Wrong. If you are looking for a rock solid, flexible unit that turns out a perfect loaf time after time (up to 2.5 lbs), this is your bread machine. The automatic yeast dispenser is a great feature, particulary if you use the timer. Spend the [money].

This is just for the record, and to prepare you for a disappointment if you have my bad luck. My first Panasonic breadmaker gave me about 12 years of good service and just slowly died of old age; I had no complaints. I was just sorry to see it go. I bought this new model breadmaker (SD-YD250) last December (2005). It has been producing SUPERB bread (about two a week, wheat or cinnamon-raisin). I have been immensely pleased with this machine. But now it has just suddenly failed. The manual is useless when it comes to trouble-shooting, and the website is a gigantic run-around: I think there is no help at all for Panasonic breadmakers on the Panasonic web site, though it takes some time to find this fact out. But now I am getting quite a run-around trying to get some action on the warranty. I am disappointed with Panasonic. I had thought they were a better company. It could be that I am just a very unlucky person, but I thought I would put my experience on record.... (Panasonic automatically sends me to a repair facility which says it does not repair breadmakers, and also says I should contact Panasonic....I am locked in a loop!)'

Remote Control Helicopter - remote control helicopter, syma

This toy is great, even for the big kids to play around with. It's a very durable and easy to use helicopter and requires no previous skills to fly. Best of all, you can charge it using your computer's USB port or the remote controller it comes with. One thing to note is that this toy is IR controlled, not radio controlled. That means that it's more line-of-sight than being able to control it from another room for example. That being said, it will not get interfered with by cordless phones or other radio emitting devices.

You can fly this little guy in a small apartment or a small room and you will have fun doing so. It's great for offices since it's not too loud and again easy to maneuver.

Hope you enjoy it! Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter - Yellow

I bought this remote controlled helicopter a few days ago for my son who is 6. It is a really cool toy. It is amazing to see it fly and maneuver around the house. It charges for about 40 minutes and flies for about 8 minutes on a charge. It requires skill to fly and is actually challenging, which makes it fun and interesting. My son is too young to really play with it properly so we play with it together. It is pretty sturdy, however, you will end up damaging it over time. There is only so many times that you can crash it before it gets damaged. A small piece of decorative plastic cracked from the tail section which I taped back together. I wouldn't count this against the product because I crashed it repeatedly without significantly damaging it. I will probably have to buy some spare parts in the future.

Bottom line - Great, fun, challenging little toy helicopter. Probably the coolest remote controlled toy I have ever bought.

I purchased this specific model of R/C Helicopter because of other reviews saying how good the control and good the quality of the aircraft.

Controls:

The control and handling is very good. This is my 3rd R/C helicopter and 1st dual prop helicopter. My young kids can fly it without crashing (once they get a hang of controlling prop speed and not dropping it like a brick when it gets too high). I can easily maneuver into tight spots and hover in place. Landing is easy. With single prop helicopters it's a challenge just to stay in the air and avoid walls.

Construction:

The construction is very poor. The meta parts seem fine. The plastic is not as sturdy as other brand r/c toys and a couple small crashes damaged the propellers during the first few flights. A few flights later the rear "landing" plastic was damaged. Replacement pieces are not expensive but shipping them is often more than 2x the cost of the part.

Battery Life:

The helicopter runs the 7 to 10 minutes as expected. However it requires 50 MINUTES to charge. This is very very disappointing. Other similar helicopters charge in 10 minutes.

Rating:

I gave it 3 stars because the control seems so good. Next time I'll try another brand.

The first RC helicopter i bought was an RC Apache and I was really dissapointed, it was unstable and I really never flew it.

Not this one, it flew right out of the box... It's stable, and looks great.

I bought one for my brother in law, and he loves it.

My wife says I spend more time with it than with her... It is probably true... Wait until she finds out that i just placed an order for two more... hahaha

I crashed it several times while learning and it is really durable. I did crack on stabilizer but nothing a little amount of Crazy Glue did not fix.

One more thing, I read in several blogs that you should not overcharge it and not fly it until the battery is completely empty... It will make it last longer. That's why I am buying more of them... To have more fly-time!

I am sure you will like it too.

I'm a 47-year-old kid who has always loved aviation and RC models. Cars, planes, everything. I currently have two other small scale rc helicopters that I have enjoyed, but they are NOTHING like the Syma S107. Not even close. The thing is, they cost A LOT more.

I see a lot of comments here about how easy this model is to break. The two channel models I have are much more likely to break because you have very little control. With the Syma S107, you have ABSOLUTE control. Have you ever seen a dragonfly in flight - stopping and turning on a dime? That's what this helicopter reminds me of.

Right out of the box it is impressive. The quality of construction is beautiful to look at. If you've ever seen one of the huge rc helicopters that the pros fly, this looks like a scaled down version, with a metal frame and boom tubes just like the big ones. Two separate motors operate the main rotors independently. When you initiate a turn, one rotor spins faster than the other to generate torque, which turns the aircraft. It's the same principle that is used to turn real twin main rotor helicopters like the CH-46 Sea Knight and the CH-47 Chinook.

The really cool part is the tail rotor. It's mounted at 90 degrees to what you're used to seeing on a helicopter. It blows air up and down, not left and right. The tail rotor is what generates forward and backward movement by raising or lowering the tail, and it is very precise and responsive.

A couple of tips if you're new to this type of toy:

1. After charging, put the helicopter on a good, clear section of floor and turn on the helicopter and remote.

2. Don't touch the right control yoke yet - you don't need it.

3. Hold the throttle yoke in your left hand and the small trim adjuster knob in the right.

4. GRADUALLY move the left yoke forward to increase throttle until the helicopter barely leaves the ground. Watch for left or right rotation and turn the trim knob to make the helicopter hover without rotating. Once it hovers without turning by using only the throttle, you're ready to fly.

5. Get used to the throttle by GRADUALLY increasing and decreasing. The biggest problem is using too much throttle and hitting the ceiling, then the helicopter falls all the way to the floor. That's how they break. If you're careful, you'll be OK.

6. ENJOY. This is the coolest toy I've had in years, and my kids like it so much, I bought another for each of them today. - Remote Control Helicopter - Rc Helicopter - Syma - Syma Rc Helicopter'

Electronic Music - adaptor, motorola

If you are looking for a simple cell phone headset that won't cost you a lot, get this one. I was tired of holding my hot phone up to my face for hours a day so I bought this for $0.01 plus shipping. While it's clearly not as fancy as some of the Bluetooth headsets, it does a good job. Everyone has been able to hear me just fine, and I can hear them just as well as I ever could. Motorola 2.5mm Mono Hands-Free Headset - Black

I have been quite impressed by the audio clarity of this Motorola hands-free headset. For all the talk about bluetooth headsets, none comes close to this when it comes to voice clarity, sending or receiving.

Also, the ear bud makes it a comfortable wear.

This device is like a Toyota Camry. It does the job to perfection. You couldn't ask for anything more reliable.

Like others have commented, this is not a Motorola product... its a Nextel. I bought this product multiple times in the past and received a very good performing Motorola headset. When this one arrived I was disappointed to see they changed the product and failed to update the title or description. The Nextel is an o.k headset, but not nearly as good as my old Motorola's.

I was so happy with first purchase, had to buy another just so I had two! The sound quality is higher than any I've tried. I actually need to turn volume down on my phone which is unusual. No problems so far.

If you buy this from this seller please note that the item I received was not Motorola but another brand which upon emailing an inquiry to the seller was assured it was identical.

The function is OK and equal to one I purchased at the 99 Cent Store the next week for 99 cents to compare.

In my opinion, since not Motorola and not any better than a cheap one, buy the cheap one and save the money.

I purchased this product so that I could get away from constantly holding the cellphone right up to my ear. I have heard alot about radiation from cell phones so I ordered this product to somewhat lessen the amount of radiation. The day I received it, it had so much static. You would only be able to hear the other party on the phone in bits and pieces. This product was quite inexpensive but It definitely wasn't worth any amount of money. You get what you pay for. Lesson learned.

The headsets were not expensive but they did not work. The earphones were not clear and the mic had static to the extent that the other party heard loud distortion and echo.I purchased 3 and the same defects were in each device.

I don't need to say much besides my review title. Unlike a lot of people, my use for this thing is for X2 (XBOX 360). It's absolutely perfect for XLIVE gaming. Simply plug it into the ear, then the control and THAT'S IT. I highly recommend it over those ridiculously over-priced and crappy Microsoft brand headsets. ANYONE who plays over XLIVE knows that they suck...massively. The worst thing about this ear piece, is the durability. Their much too delicate.

I'm done here so I'm gonna conclude with this: Buy it and just be gentle with it. Don't let it tangle, get pulled and put it away (when not in use) in a moderately safe spot.

Unfortunately I read a few of the reviews warning not to buy this piece of crap but bought anyway thinking it was an original equipment manufacturer's version which worked fine but it wasn't. Be very aware that this is truly a waste of money no matter how cheap it is. I am constantly told my voice can not be heard but the background noise comes through like 'gangbusters'. You can hear who you are talking too but they can barely hear you. - Earpiece - Wired Headsets - Adaptor - Motorola'
