Samsung Lcd - 32 inch lcd, samsung lcd

Picture Quality Performance: With 480i images we noted some jerky motion artifacts in the background of some scenes. However, I did not see much offensive negatives in the foreground and was very pleased with the detail offered in 480i. The processors did a very nice job. Color rendition was not oversaturated, if not sometimes a little muted.

With our Blu Ray set to 720p resolution to match the TVs resolution we were very impressed at the bright sharp images and intense color offered. The TV really has a lot of pop with HD material. We also did not note the negative background judder with HD material and this proved out with our HD HQV processor testing as well. Black levels were deep and occasionally oversaturated but not often enough to really be a strike against. Dark shadow detail was totally acceptable for a TV of this size and price range.

Off center viewing was average on this LCD TV with the contrast and black levels fading at around 35 degrees off angle - again not bad for this price range.

Calibration: Calibration through the menu was easy and the C350 did a nice job calibrating to near D6500K. There are advanced white balance controls included on this TV which is unusual for this price point. There are also many more advanced settings than I would have thought such as Black Tone, Dynamic Contrast, a Gamma setting, and a nifty Flesh Tone setting that will take the onscreen flesh tones from a yellowish to a pinkish appearance at your whim without changing the overall color appearance of the picture much.

Picture settings as calibrated from the Custom Setting:

Backlight: 8

Contrast: 92

Brightness: 46

Sharpness: 10

Color: 53

Tint: Unchanged

Black Tone: Dark

Dynamic Contrast: Low

Gamma: +1

Color Space: Native

White Balance-

Rgain: 27

Roffset: 24

Flesh Tone: +1

Edge Enhancement: Off

As far as aesthetic considerations go, the LN32C350 has straightforward design and better than the other 32" models on the market except the LG's. You almost cant believe how light the TV is upon lifting it, a scant 15.7 pounds. The TV is 3.25" in depth and 8" with the stand. The included table stand is very light and inexpensive and the TV must be turned on its head and the table stand screwed on upside down to accomplish the assembly. It would be more convenient if Samsung would just include the stand already assembled on the TV, same as some other manufacturers. The table top stand does not swivel side to side. The 2" bezel framing of the TV is gloss black and non-spectacular but does contain a sloped design element at the bottom.

Audio Output: The two inbuilt 5 watt speakers barely get the job done. From 10 feet the user will need to keep the volume control at 75% of total capacity. The volume quality also is lacking with a tinny character and no base - but that's about all you can expect from 5 watt speakers.

It's rare that i'm so pleased with a purchase so I just had to write a review. After a very... very extensive search and looking at a lot of TV me and my GF just got this TV, it was our first big purchase together after moving in together. Simply put this tv has amazing picture quality for the price we paid. Also alot of people are complaining about the amount of inputs this TV has... but it's an HDTV, samsung isn't expecting you to connect your stuff to it with composite cables... what a waste! I bought an HDMI cable for our cable box and one for our xbox360 and now we can hook up both and enjoying amazing HD quality picture.

The one weakness of this TV is the sound is so weak! But all the TVs we looked at in this size/price range had weak sound so i guess that's just the way it is now as most manufactures expect it to be used with a home theater system. honestly tho, compared to the other TVs this sound quality sounds really good... it's not at all loud, but at least it sounds good.

I upgraded my bedroom tv to this Samsung HDTV. The picture and quality of a Samsung HDTV is outstanding. I had another brand of HDTV in there first, but with the new HD Receiver I purchased, I couldn't get a picture on it. I moved it to another room and with the Samsung I had no problem at all. I now have 3 Samsung LCD HDTV sets in my house, Living Room 52", bedroom 32" and 23" in dressing room. I couldn't be happier with my purchases of Samsung HDTV TV Sets.

I have had several people tell me that they have never seen a better picture on a HDTV than the ones I have.

This is my second 32inch Samsung purchase. My first was 6yrs ago and I paid $1450.00 for a 32" that has less features than this one at $329.00. So when the wife and I decided to get rid of the old CRT TV upstairs we jumped on this deal.

I was a little worried about the sound quality because of the reviews but the sound quality is excellent! It has 2 10watt speakers and a 5 band equalizer that comes with 5 presets and will allow you to set it up however you like. I honestly have no idea what people are talking about unless the volume coming out of their cable box is really low. I turn my volume output of the cable box all the way up, then turn on the TRU Surround sound and set the EQ to the movie preset. You wont need to turn the TV volume past 15.

The picture quality is fantastic and you have lots of adjustments you can make if needed. Mine was perfect right out of the box.

The USB port will allow you to view pictures & listen to mp3's and is controlled with the TV's remote.

It is super lightweight and takes only a few minutes to set up. I recommend you get an HDTV BOX with am HDMI output from your cable/satellite company. Comcast even included an HDMI cable at no charge.

Bottom Line: If your looking for a basic model HDTV that has a great picture & sound look no further. I know its only 720p but honestly the human eye cannot tell the difference between 1080p & 720p on sets that are less than 42inch's. My parents have a 32 inch 720p Samsung in their bedroom and a 52 inch 1080p Sony Bravia in the rec room and both of them agree that the Samsung has a better picture. In my opinion Samsung TV's have the best picture out there and amazon.com has worry free customer service. So what are you waiting for? - 1080p - 720p - 32 Inch Lcd - Samsung Lcd'

Pet Grooming Tool - pet grooming tool, nail care

Before you can actually use this product you first must accustom your pet to the PediPaws. Unless he or she is in a coma, your pet will absolutely despise the sound and vibration of it. Don't let that deter you! As the caring, dedicated pet owner that you are, you will persevere!

After one very long week, I learned that Sophie the dog is more patient than stubborn, and grudgingly learned to "put up" with the tool. However, Fuzzy the cat refused to do the same--he saw no need to suffer fools gladly.

The experience revealed two major drawbacks with the PediPaws: It files the nail in miniscule amounts at a time and can only be used in bursts of 7 seconds or so. (If used longer, the heat generated through friction could injure your pet.) If your dog's nails are overlong, this project could take you days---maybe weeks. Even if the nails were recently trimmed, you will have to constantly file them to maintain that length.

If you and your pet are extraordinarily patient, you would probably not even worry about purchasing this product, but you might enjoy the challenge of using it nonetheless. If you find it hard to resist a new gadget or power tool, I recommend buying the complete Dremel Drill Tool Set. That way, when you abandon using it to file nails, you will be able to find less dubious uses for it.

As for myself, I intend to keep it and, during evenings while watching TV, I will file my own nails. It is my hope that its sound, vibration and heat will remind me to never again purchase anything that is: "As Seen On TV." PediPaws Pet Nail Trimmer

I was excited when my pedipaws arrived, my dog hates having her nails trimmed and keeping her still is a chore. I acclimated my dog just like the instructions say, and she did okay but the pedipaws didnt. It's basically a grinder so you would think its easy, but the thing only has one speed, a safety guard that blocks your view, and is bulky and awkward. I managed to grind down my dogs nails, but not smoothe them well. I do not expect everyone to have the same experience that I have, but I still would not reccomend this product.

I am a professional dog groomer, and we hear SO many complaints about this tool, and have gained so many new nail grinding clients since it's introduction. It doesn't have good battery life, and isn't tough enough for a large dog's nails.

The Dremel MiniMite is a MUCH better investment, because it actually has enough power for larger dog's toenails. It is light weight, not too noisy, easy to control. I've only had two dogs in the past month (out of a couple hundred) that objected to it too badly to finish the job.

Dremel 750-02 Minimite 13,000 RPM 2 Speed 4.8-Volt Cordless Rotary Tool

It doesn't have a guard, but just do a swipe at a time until you figure out how much it'll take off. If youre not sure how to do this, google "toenail grinding" and you'll be able to figure it out pretty quick.

It is still possible to quick dogs with these tools, and if you press and hold them, the heat caused by the friction does become uncomfortable.

For really long nails, it's best to trim off the excess with a regular nail trimmer, and then after that you can upkeep them without trimming, just the grinding.

My dog 60lbs hates the sound. This product also took a very long time to use. Pressure on the sanding stick cause the sanding to stop. This product was pretty much useless to me and a waste of time and money.

I have to give Pedipaws an average score. Here are the pros and cons of what I have found:

PRO

It wasn't as loud as my Dremel and my dog wasn't freaked out, but it dids take some coaxing for her to get used to the noise. Now my dog is fine with it.

I like the guard so my dog can't reach down and grab it, which could cause harm if a dog grabbed a Dremel without a guard.

I like that it takes the nails off in small amounts, so I don't overdo it and hit the quick.

For me, it is easy to use.

CON

It is battery operated using C batteries and I hate using batteries. I wish it was corded.

The file tool will eventually become dull and I will have to replace it and they are expensive. I am going to try to find a way to make my own, saving a lot of money hopefully!

The guard is a yellow color and makes it harder to see what you are filing.

You can't use much pressure at all or the wheel stops, which is a good thing, in that it is hard to cut into the quick, but bad in that it takes a long time to get the nail trimmed. You can only file for 3 seconds and then you move on to another nail, and do them all, then come back and do it all over again, which takes time and I mean TIME! So busy people, better to use the nail cutters.

I don't know how this will hold up in time. It is fine now, but it doesn't have the quality of a Dremel in my opinion.

So that is what I have found about my Pedipaws. Would I buy it again? Yes and no. Yes, if they made it to where you could adjust the speed more, so you could get more filed. I understand too much power would be bad, but just a little more power would do wonders. I would want it corded so I wouldn't have to buy batteries. Also an affordable way to buy extra file wheels. Then I would buy it. It would be a great thing. But like it is I would pass on it. If you have a dog who hates nail cutters, you might try this, but the noise might be another obstacle to overcome.

So my final verdict is: This could have been a great product, but like it is, it is just OK.

I was a little unsure about this purchase since most "seen on tv" products are cheap and don't work. BUT I love this! It worked on my 50 lb dog and my little 15 lb dog. My little dog is scared to death of noises, but she wasn't bothered at all. They both actually liked getting this done. I was in shock! It trimmed their nails perfectly. I give this product 2 paws up! - Dog Grooming - Nail Care - Pet Grooming Tool - Dogs'

Laptop Speaker - orbit, laptop speaker

I've only had this speaker for 24 hours, but I can say that so far it's been excellent. I got it for my Thinkpad T400 laptop because the internal speakers were not loud enough, and some things, like DVD movies, or watching TV from my Slingbox had really low volume. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit on the laptop. I plugged in the speaker and Windows installed the driver without a hitch (no CD needed). It worked immediately thereafter. The native speakers are disabled when you plug this one in, and all the volume controls, including the hardware volume buttons on the laptop, work without change on the new speaker. If you unplug it while it's in use the native speakers take over seamlessly. The sound quality is excellent as compared to the native laptop speakers, and the volume, wow! I have the volume set at 5%, which is providing about the same volume of sound as the native T400 speakers provide at 100% volume. If I run the volume all the way up I can easily hear the sound at a comfortable level in the next room, and there is very little distortion. This speaker won't take the place of a set of powered stereo speakers; but for the price, portability, and the fact that it runs off the USB port without any other power source, you can't beat it with a stick.

Edit 10/5/2010

I found that this speaker will work with an iPad if you have the camera connector (the camera connector basically turns the dock connector into a USB port). I just plugged it into the USB port and it immediately worked, although there is no mention in the iPad documentation that you can do this. If you have both products it might be worthwhile buying the camera connector instead of a separate speaker for your iPad. Altec Lansing iML237USB ORBIT Ultra Portable USB-Powered Speaker

Prior to purchase this little USB speaker, I was using 2 desktop PC speakers for my notebook online TV viewing and listening to music. lines all around my desk between the notebook and electricity wall socket. sometimes people are tripped by the lines. Since the purchasing of this little speaker, it not only replaced all of the unnecessary lines and 2 larger sized speakers but also out performed the sound quality of my old two PC speakers. There is one thing need to be improved from the manufacturer: the instruction of sound volume control is not good and the speaker's volume is low by default setting. There is no volume control nob on the speaker and one paged instruction of two pictures doesn't give your good idea of how to solve this problem. Here is the way of how to do it: after insert USB to the computer, open Control panel classic view, double click the Sound icon, click on the Speakers USB Sound Device, then you will see the Properties at the right lower portion of the menu. Open the Properties' Levels menu you will find the USB speaker's default volume was set to lower side. Just move the volume to the highest and make sure the options of "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" and "Give exclusive mode applications priority" are checked (which is default) under the Advance menu, then check OK and you are all set. After this setting up you will be able to adjust your speak volume from your notebook volume control or any online audio program volume control to a very high volume level.

This is my review of 3 portable, USB powered, laptop speakers I've received recently:

1. The first USB powered speaker I purchased was the ALTEC LANSING iML237USB ORBIT:

I was pleased with the sound quality of the ALTEC LANSING ORBIT. And at about $23 including shipping, you probably cannot get a better sounding USB powered speaker for the money.

2. But after a while, I wanted the convenience of having a USB powered speaker that I could attach onto the laptop. So, I asked for and received the LOGITECH Z205 for Christmas which cost about $46 including shipping:

The LOGITECH Z205 was indeed convenient as it clipped on top of the laptop. But although it sounded appreciably better than the built-in speakers on any of my laptops and netbooks, I was nonetheless underwhelmed by the sound quality. The ALTEC LANSING ORBIT sounded much better.

3. So then I read the CNET review of the more expensive LOGITECH Z305 which also clips on top of the laptop. CNET basically concluded that the LOGITECH Z305 corrected the sonic deficiencies it had found in the less expensive LOGITECH Z205 and was worth the extra $10 - $20. Based on this review, I ended up ordering the Z305 from Amazon for $49.99 including shipping -- which meant that it was only $4 more than the Z205. I received it yesterday and could not be more pleased. It sounds great -- easily the best of the 3 USB powered speakers I now have -- with decent bass, a nice open sound and good stereo separation. I would actually characterize the sound as "high fidelity". With its high sound quality and clip-on convenience, I think it's probably the best and only USB powered speaker one should get.

CONCLUSIONS: If you want good sound quality for little money, get the ALTEC LANSING ORBIT for $23. If you want high sound quality and clip-on convenience, get the LOGITECH Z305 for $50. Given these outstanding two speaker choices, I wouldn't even consider getting the LOGITECH Z205 for $46. - Portable Speaker - Laptop Speaker - Portable Speakers - Orbit'

Canon Digital Camera - accessories, canon digital camera

I use three batteries in rotation, as I am frequently travelling in places where there is no electricity. When I traded in my old PowerShot S410 for a new PowerShot SD750 I took a chance on buying two generic batteries ($12 instead of $42).

Both generics were slightly less than perfect, in that they would regularly activate the 'low battery' icon/light even when they were fully charged. Occasionally, they would even evoke the 'change battery' message. On these occasions I had to open the battery compartment, partially remove the battery, then re-install it, in which case I could now proceed to take pictures with the same battery.

My sense was that the total battery life of the generics was not dramatically shorter than the Canon original, although I did not attempt to measure this precisely.

As soon as I was able (about a month after I bought them, as I was travelling at the time) I returned the generics to Amazon and paid full price for the Canon original. Although the generics could be 'worked around' it wasn't worth it to me, as I discovered I was more interested in taking photos than in saving $30 (times 2). Canon NB-4L Lithium-Ion Battery (3.7v 760mAh) Li-Ion Battery for Canon SD1400IS, SD940IS, SD960IS and Other Select Canon Digital Cameras

This is the exact same battery that came with my Canon SD200 camera (digital elph). I wanted to have a spare, and while you can find the replacement batteries (generics) for about 1/2 the price I really didn't want to risk anything going wrong by using any other type of battery. It takes a charge well and has a nice life to it, I am satisfied.

The value of having a second camera battery cannot be overestimated because the battery cannot be charged on the camera on most models. Swapping out batteries gives you continuous coverage and if you have a 2 Gig memory you can take a thousand pictures should you choose to do so. Moreover, the battery has a neat little cap with a built-in indicator which allows you to easily tell a depleted battery from a fully-charged one and eliminates the chance of spare change in your pocket or purse from shorting out the terminals. Strongly suggest you have one of these.

It's hard to beat an OEM battery at about half the price you would have to pay at a local big box store. I have experienced satisfactory charge and run time for this battery in my Canon SD600.

One thing to note: This was ordered with the "Super Saver Shipping". No problem, but I did notice like many other Amazon reviewers, that the order was listed as "shipped" almost a week before it actually entered the mail system. Amazon tracking said "shipped" but USPS tracking said they had been notified of a pickup request but that the item was not yet in their posession. And, as it turns out, wouldn't be for another 5 days. Anyway, the point is that there is a slightly misleading perception being generated by Amazon that your order is on it's way when in fact it is really sitting on their loading dock (or elsewhere) waiting for a weekly bulk pickup. And once it is "shipped", according to them, you can't cancel it, no matter how long it takes for a courier to actually pick it up off the dock.

If you are in need of a handy back up or replacement battery for your Canon camera, order this. I have purchased the "knock off" batteries claiming to be as good as the original for 1/2 the price, but beware, you get 1/16 of the battery life! The "compatible" batteries do not hold a charge well at all and I unfortunately found out the hard way, on vacation with no charger around. The compatibles were useless, I almost thought I hadn't fully charged two extra "compatible" batteries, but when I returned home and attempted to charge them, they both lasted long enough for the camera to power on even after the charger gave them a green light! I won't hammer the name of the compatibles due to the possibility of some fluke, but I wouldn't risk any of them.

I just recently purchased the Canon SD 1000 camera and wanted a spare battery to cary. I also have an older Canon camera and when I wanted a spare back-up battery I bought a brand other than Canon. The off brand battery did not last as long as the Canon battery.

This time when I wanted a spare battery I bought the Canon as opposed to a cheaper off brand.

I am looking forward to equal quality performance of both batteries.

I would quess the old saying ,"You get what you pay for",would apply here. norrlip

It's just a battery, right? I ordered it and received it quickly, and it works as advertised. I suppose it's not that complicated.

I would add that I do have a preference for Canon brand batteries over the generics. Although they are so much cheaper, it just isn't worth it when you discover that they don't hold as muh of a charge and deteriorate more quickly over time. - Battery - Accessories - Camera Battery - Canon Digital Camera'

Game Of The Year - xbox 360, video games

Alright, I'm a serious COD fan and I logged almost a month on Modern Warfare 2, and a little over a half a month on all the other COD titles. You all know what the prestige edition comes with, as it is all listed above, but is it truly worth the extra money?

It's hard to say. It certainly cool and I waited outside of my local Best Buy at 9pm before the midnight release to get in line to make sure I got a copy. The ONLY thing that comes with the prestige edition that is not included in the hardened edition is the RC-XD killstreak remote controlled car. That being the only thing different-I'll go over it a bit.

--It feels cheap and very light (not complaining, exactly what I would expect-I didn't expect a serious quality RC car).

--It takes 12 AA batteries, 6 in the remote and 6 in the car, which drain pretty fast. (especially if the camera is on)

--The car zips around pretty well but won't do well in the grass at all.

--I've played with RC cars all my life and this one is a little difficult to handle. The turns are crazy sharp with the steering dial on the right of the remote, it takes a very steady hand to carefully steer the car.

--The camera (as expected, not complaining) is very low quality and it is impossible to drive while just looking at the screen on the remote. The lens is faced upward and if you're driving it on the street or in the house you cannot see the ground to see where you're going, you see the top 2/3 of a level of a house.

--The microphone is pretty sensetive so if it is on, you'll constantly hear the gears and mechanisms from inside the car and will come through on your remote and it sounds like a cheap $5 toy car engine sound.

As far as gameplay goes, it varies, and truly, it's all depending on what COD games you like the most. I've read other reviews and I do agree with others that it feels a lot like World at War with some minor additions. The online play is not as smooth as IW's Modern Warfare 2 or even COD4.

ONLINE GAMEPLAY

I think the online gameplay takes some adjusting to after playing MW2 because MW2 was so fast paced and sometimes predictable. The spawnpoints on Black Ops from my experience have been all over the place. I very regularly find myself spawning behind people and saying "man I'd be pissed if I was that guy" and many times I AM that guy. The refresh rate is not that of MW2 and the graphics in multiplayer really suffer. I thought that with the popularity of the COD franchise that they would only stride to make each addition better than the last, but truly I think this one falls short. You buy all of your attachments with bets (or contracts) wagered, and that's actually pretty fun. It's like the same thing as challanges, but it puts a little more pressure on you because you have a time limit. Stopping power and danger close are gone, as is one man army. But because there aren't really noobtubes with one man army or people using stopping power and trailblazing, I find that there are MANY MORE campers in here, sitting back trying to achieve their higher killstreaks. Killstreaks do not count toward other killstreaks, so if I get my RC-XD remote controlled explosive car, and get 2 kills..that still doesn't mean I get my carepackage--I still have to shoot/knife/grenade someone myself. This was apparently a complaint of "the rich get richer/poor gets poorer." I personally think if people are having troubles with a game they shouldn't cry about it on blogs and complain to creators because they cannot personally do well in a video game-that's your own fault. Multiplayer in conclusion, not what I expected. I'm getting used to it, but I'm going to miss the pace of MW2 and the way you unlock attachments for weapons instead of having to buy them.

CAMPAIGN

The compaign mode is great. The graphics are MUCH better and I really wish they would have focused on making their graphics better for online play instead of stupid things like putting your clan tag on your gun and things that most people could do without. One thing I loved about World at War was the super satisfying shotgun to the legs during campaign where they blow off, and there's plenty of that here. A great assortment of weapons and plenty to do, including the use of vehicles. I really have no complaints about the campaign, it's very fun and you'll absorb it right away.

ZOMBIES

Of course zombies are great! I think they focused harder on zombies than they did multiplayer also, atleast as far as graphics go. Automated turrets and all kinds of fun stuff to do! Plus, with the prestige or hardened edition, you get the 4 original maps-which is a great value considering what I spent on WAW mappacks in the past. It's fun playing the old maps with the additions of the new guns. I loved playing on Nacht der Untoten and going upstairs and cornering myself in and lining up headshots with the new guns. Of course everyone will like nazi zombies. I personally think Treyarch should be responsible for COD-Nazi Zombies and release a Nazi Zombie based game with a campaign and everything.

Well, that's my review. conclusion- Campaign is great, multiplayer lacks in my personal opinion, zombies are great=4/5. If you're a serious collector, go for the prestige and get your RC-XD like I did and let me know what you think of it. I really hope it was helpful to somoene, please vote and let me know whether is helped you out and leave any comments or questions and I'd be happy to promptly respond. Thanks everyone! Lithium Batteries - battery, energizer lithium aa batteries

The Energizer L91 Lithium AA cell is a fantastic power source. For high-drain applications, it offers great advantages over ordinary alkaline cell and rechargeable NiMH cell. However, it is also very expensive as a disposable battery. So it is important to recognize the strength of L91, and use it only in applications that give you the best results. Otherwise you'll be wasting your money.

According to data sheet published by Energizer, the capacity of the Lithium AA cell (L91) is 3000mAh. This number remains nearly constant with load current. In comparison, the ordinary Alkaline battery (such as the Energizer E91 AA) is rated as 2800mAh, but only at a very light load of 25mA. At a heavy load of 1000mA (typical for a digital camera or flash unit), its capacity drops to below 1000mAh. This number gets even worse at low temperature. At zero degree C and 1000mA load, the L91 can provide about seven times more energy compared to the E91. This is where the marketing claim of "Last up to 7 times longer" comes from.

When used in a digital camera at room temperature of 25 degree C, the L91 is more likely to last 3-4 times longer than alkaline. This is enough to justify its price, which is also around 3-4 times higher than alkaline. However, in low-drain applications (such as smoke detector, wireless mouse or remote control) alkaline cells will last just as long at a fraction of the cost.

The L91 also contains much higher energy when compared to an ordinary rechargeable NiMH cell such as the Energizer NH15-2500. This is partially due to its higher terminal voltage of 1.5V, which is 20% higher than that for NiMH.

Energy stored in NH15-2500 : 2.5Ah * 1.25V = 3.125Wh,

Energy stored in L91 : 3Ah * 1.5V = 4.5Wh (44% higher).

Higher terminal voltage for L91 is especially advantageous in digital camera applications, because your camera flash will recharge up to 20% faster. An added benefit is that the L91 weighs only 14.5 grams (0.5 oz) each, compared to 30 grams (1 oz) for NiMH. So your camera becomes much lighter.

The NH15-2500, like all ordinary NiMH cells, suffers from rapid self-discharge problem. If you charge up a set of those cells and leave them in your camera for a few weeks, you're likely to be greeted by 'Low Battery' sign when you try to take a photo. The new generation of 'ready-to-use' NiMH cells such as SANYO eneloop and Rayovac Hybrid solved this problem by having very low self discharge rate. But they have lower capacity of only 2000-2100mAh.

Bottom line: If you need AA batteries for a long hiking trip, then L91 is obviously your best choice. For most other situations, I recommend using low self-discharge NiMH cells for lower operating cost. Energizer Ultimate L91BP-4 Lithium AA Battery 4 Pack

- Battery - Energizer - Aa - Energizer Lithium Aa Batteries'

Compact Led Flashlight - tactical, bright

I don't usually write reviews for these things but I will on this one...

BIG NOTE: The flashlight has no cut off in the charger... it states this in the directions... "Charge 3-5 hours but do not leave on the charger more than 6 hours" which may be great if you want to sit around and wait on it with an egg timer... but personally I like to set my light on the charger overnight and grab it when I wake up and get ready for work... There is no indication of fully charged either...

BIG NOTE 2: The lens is made out of a cheap feeling THIN piece of plastic and will likely melt from heat with any type of semi-extended use... my lens came all scratched up too...

First thing I noticed was that on the side of the flashlight it says "GUARDEDOG" and on the other "FLASHLIGHT"... I thought this was a "Guard Dog"... and does it really need to state that its a flashlight? I think we can figure it out... There is a compass in the tailcap which was about 45 degrees off... west was reading north...

Besides the cosmetics... If the head gets more than about 1/8 of a turn lose the light cuts out... the manual states it has a momentary operation which it kind of might but the switch is so cheap feeling I wouldn't use the momentary function. There is also a little rubber cover that covers the charging port on the flashlight. This doesn't stay in and if I wasn't returning the light I would be tempted to take this completely off and take my chances.

As far as brightness... I seriously doubt this thing is 240 lumens... I have a 210 lumen flashlight I bought on Amazon (Nu-Flare 77R92L) which is MUCH brighter than this light and much sturdier (although it doesn't have the strobe function and it is not rechargeable)

The only PLUSES for this light are that it came with a HOME and a CAR charger (AC and a DC) which can charge the light directly and it came with a little charging cradle which you can charge the special battery pack with either the ac or dc charger without it being in the flashlight. If you could order a couple of those battery packs to have on hand with the light it could be a nice feature. But all in all the cons outweigh the pros and the light is being returned to amazon.

A well known sportsmans supply store has the Guard Dog 240 on "sale" for $49.95 plus $10 +/- shipping. I got it at Amazon for $29.95 including shipping! The light is better than I thought it might be; It's pretty well made and has a smooth and VERY bright beam, plus it has a lower power beam and a strobe beam as well. It's not quite the quality of my Surefire or Stream Light lights, but a good rechargeable flashlight for 30 bucks it definitely is. The only thing not good, is that there is no mention of who makes it or where they are.

First, the obvious, not as bright as expected. (Owned similar lumin torches previously.) This is however not too concerning, it does fairly light the drying sheds on my rounds. (Night guard at a lumberyard.)

The compass is of decent quality, but like those who reviewed before me, fell off within two days of using it, easily slipped back in and held since then, it may simply be flawed in insertion, I suggest Gorilla gluing the thing in immediately upon receiving.

As for parts, the chargers are cheap Chinese junk, I am hoping replaceable, otherwise I'll be returning the whole thing. The parts are also clunky and a nuisance, the nice box it comes in, is a space waster, and connection points for chargers are weak at best.

The three settings, are highly indistinguishable, apart from off, and emergency strobe, the only difference, is an intensity increase/decrease of about 2-5%.

Primary Concern: This is NOT a tactical light, I would classify this as a survival light, the "tactical" end is good for as much as breaking glass, and likely would not do much to reinforced windshields on cars. The overall strength of the parts and materials is a concern in durability, club someone with it instead of a baton, and say goodbye to your torch.

As for positives, decent size, piercing beam, cheap.

Final Conclusion: Not worth the purchase, I noticed 60 dollar higher lumins as well, choose one of those, this one, unless your real tight on cash, is more trouble than it's worth.

The compass is an excuse for not having a switch at the end. The light is not waterproof, and the approach to the tiny plug for the DC charger is a joke. That plug will not stay in the hole. Poorly designed and not worth even this discounted price. A previous review references a light from a well known sportsman's outlet for $49.95. We have one of those, and it is FAR superior to this light.

What an amazing flashlight!!!

I originally purchased this flashlight because of the rechargeable feature, but I got a lot more than what I asked for. Here's what I noticed:

1. Upon getting the flashlight, I noticed it came in a very nice magnetic flip-top box. The reason I particularly like this, as opposed to heat-sealed packaging, is because it's actually reusable. I has a small compartment each component and makes it easy to transport all the accessories that the flashlight comes with.

2. The body is strong and sturdy. It has a very "expensive" feel to it and it feels very nice in my hands.

3. The wrist strap is actually practical! Some straps seem to be meant for people with miniature hands but this one actually makes it feasible to use around my hands and wrist.

4. The end cap is VERY strong. They said it has a glass breaker or emergency end, and I can certainly see that. In fact, the end cap alone can hurt someone in case you are getting robbed.

5. The light is extremely bright and blinding. The high, low, strobe feature make it extra useful.

6. It comes with a CAR CHARGER? I'll certainly never run low on battery!

7. Yes, the compass is not so great. But just simply ignore it, it won't kill you I promise.

8. $30, including shipping, for all this? A must have!

Overall, the best flashlight in my household. I'll be buying 2 more of these for a couple family members. - Led Flashlight - Tactical - Flashlight - Bright'

Great Comfortable Sheets - great sheets

These sheets are very comfy, even right out of the packaging they have a very smooth, sof texture. They have a satin finished appearance, but never feel "slick". After washing them and sleeping a few nights on them I am very pleased with them and would definitely purchase more of these in the future and would recomend them to others. I would have given them a five star review, but I'v only had the a few days and have no idea how durable they will be long term. Wrinkle Resistant 300-Thread Count Woven Stripe Cotton Queen Sheet Set, Gold

Very, Very soft. Deep pockets fits thick mattress w/foam topper easily. Only complaint - the ad says "wrinkle resistant." Not really true, as they wrinkle after washing. However - I LOVE these sheets. They are much softer than I expected, and so very comfortable. I AM NOW ORDERING MY SECOND SET OF THESE SHEETS ! ! !

These sheets are amazing! And not just for $37.00 amazing... I would have paid a lot more had I known how great the quality was. They are deep too, so they don't pop off the mattress. I would definitely recommend these!

I have to say that I am disappointed in these sheets, though I probably shouldn't be for what I paid for them. Interestingly enough these 'wrinkle free' sheets came out of the packaging all wrinkled, and after one washing and drying and prompt removal were still wrinkled. They are NOT soft. I would say more like itchy and scratchy. They are also very thin. I'm sad cause I was expecting more. Guess I'm going to have to sell some valuables to get a decent set of sheets... they do look pretty in the picture though!

These sheets were a good quality weight and very luxurious. They wash and dry without any wrinkles. The pillow cases really support queen size pillows however. My standard pillows swim in them. The fitted sheet is deep enough to cover the deepest mattresses. All in all very pleased with this product.

These sheets are made of extremely thin, cheap-feeling material, and were in no way what we were expecting. The second time we used them the fitted sheet burst open completely at one of the corners, making the whole set useless. We have a standard double bed, and were not tugging excessively on the sheets while making it. All in all: very disappointing if you are looking for nice, soft, long-lasting bed linens.

I have not bought new sheets for almost ten years: the sets I hade lasted that long, with twice a week washings.

I bought these and they did not even last three months: they were shredded and torn last night when i pulled them out of the dryer: We bougth them for Christmas.

I am very displeased and will not buy linens here again - Great Sheets'

Really. I want to be like Mimi Kirk when I grow up! She's 72 and looks like she might be pushing 40. She has the bubbly personality of a teenager and a boyfriend 20 years her junior. This amazing woman shares her diet secrets and life experience with warmth and humor in this fabulous new book. The recipes are surprisingly simple and absolutely delicious. Truly a must read for all the 30 and 40 somethings out there who refuse to grow old gracefully. Mimi provides her method for looking and feeling terrific at any age. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Live Raw: Raw Food Recipes for Good Health and Timeless Beauty

Just received the book and loving it. The recipes are delicious and easy. The downside about many raw recipes is that they have too many ingredients or are super laborious, but that is not the case with these recipes. After a trip to the market for produce, then ingredients like aminos, tahini, tamari and a few herbs, you're set to make a myriad of raw meals. Mimi also reviews tools essential for a raw kitchen (dehydrator, blender, spiralizer, etc.) so the book is great for people new to the raw path. Highly recommend!

I found Mimi on YouTube and watched all of her videos there. I am so impressed with her attitude and the things she has accomplished and these things lead me to purchase her book.

I love this book!!! Mimi introduces a flexibility on going raw...we can keep it very simple with juices, salads and green smoothies or we can be more ambitious and make the scrumptious recipes in this book.

Great, knock-out recipes here. And, if you like Mimi, check out Ani Phyo's books. Mimi and Ani are both heavy hitters in their raw sensibilities, as well as their recipes. And, they both have the gift of being wonderful teachers.

I have quite a collection of raw foods books and they all have their value, but, in my estimation, these two ladies should achieve the highest grades for the work they have produced.

Buy this book, you won't be sorry!

I am so happy that I purchased this book. I received it about a month ago in the mail and read it from cover to cover. Not only is it filled with awesome recipes, but Mimi Kirk also offers wonderful advice throughout her book. She truly cares about the health of others and her attitude is evidence of that. From the book, I have tried almost every single smoothie, several of the soups and salads, as well as the pasta alla checca. Everything has been delicious and I am excited to try more! This book is for everyone, vegan or not. But if anyone is stuggling in their raw food walk Mimi Kirk is so very encouraging and I would highly recommend her book "Live Raw."

Mimi Kirk's "Live Raw: Raw Food Recipes for Good Health and Timeless Beauty", covers all aspects of your health.

This book will appeal to your eyes, taste buds, stomach, brain, and pocket book.

Great recipes are on colored pages with beautiful photos.

In addition, Mimi educates the reader on why various parts of the body are in need of nutrient rich foods.

You'll find information on ingredients, spices, useful equipment, and learn why Mimi is such a special person.

I ordered Mimi Kirk's book, "Live Raw" after following a few interviews with her and seeing some of her videos on Facebook. This book has changed my life and my family's life. We are now following Mimi's guidelines for optimum health and are 75 - 80% raw vegan. I am finally losing the stubborn weight that I've been carrying around for years and I'm not even dieting. I'm eating cheesecake, lasagna, bread, crackers, brownies and it's all raw and all vegan and it's so delicious and healthy. Her recipes are easy to follow and her story in the beginning of the book takes your breath away. I read the book cover to cover before I started making my first meal. I highly recommend this book to everyone!! Thank you Mimi.

Mimi Kirk is probably the hottest woman in her 70's that I've ever seen! She's a great face for promoting her book on living well, and 'raw.' The book contains dozens of recipes, all of which sounds absolutely delicious! I am not one for trying new things, or new diets. However, yesterday I followed her recipe for cold broccoli soup...ASTONISHING! Kirk demands the idea that if you eat well, you feel well. She teaches us to love ourselves through feeling&eating right. Kirk is an inspiration for all. Great find. Great book. Great woman.

Mimi Kirk makes raw food delicious and beautiful. Her recipes are easy to make, and yummy to eat. I found Mimi when she was voted hottest vegetarian over 50 (or something like that) on FB. Then I found out she was actually over 20 years older than some of the other nominees! She is quite an inspiration! Mimi had literally thousands of people clamoring for a cookbook. She really wants to help others feel great. She wrote the book to share her amazing healthy life giving cuisine with everyone. Do yourself a favor, grab this book and grow younger!

She has also assembled the tools necessary for making these incredible meals, so you can save time and money getting started in your healthier life. [...]

Check out her page, & watch her video food preparation. [...]

This book is my formal entry into raw food, and having read it cover to cover, I can say I will make every single dish inside! With over 120 recipies that span the spectrum from breakfasts to desserts, it's a good value, but more importantly, it shows how beautiful, colorful and varied you can make these meals. Best Mechanical Pencil - pentel, drawing

It looks beautiful; a conversation stopper everytime I pull it out. It's silky solid with a little weight that makes the lead glue to the surface of the paper. The graphite-lead is held tight in place, no wiggling or slippage. This beauty's cap clicks firmly into its open and close positions (you'll know what I mean when you get yours). I love looking at it and feeling it craddle in my hand. The instrument is a little shorter than a regular lead/mechical pencil; the shortness compliments the weight factor making the graphite spread evenly across the surface. Beautiful design, top quality material, with a refillable eraser--seasoned lead-pencil users know the value of this little addition. It's inexpensive, high quality material, precisionly crafted, great design, wonderful to hold--what do you think all this mean? It's not gonna last, Pentel is gonna realize this and jack up the price. I have three--I wish each of my fingers have the capability to write so I could buy one for each digit. Buy, buy, buy. Pentel Sharp Kerry Mechanical Pencil, 0.50 mm, Metallic Black Barrel, 1 Unit (P1035A)

I work in engineering and live by these things. There was another model I used and that I loved - but they're not made anymore. I searched long and hard to find a replacement that works reliably and without jamming, and this model is it. My lastest order was for three of them - so I can have spares if I lose my primary one.

I've been having trouble with lesser pencils (especially a certain design whose claim to fame is having two clutches) breaking the leads into tiny pieces, so I willing to risk ~US$10+shipping for a chance to not be clicking incessantly during class, much less exams. So far, so good; I will probably buy more. I agree with most of the reviews, though comparisons to a Lamborghini might be a *bit* much!

So, I've been using this pencil for just a couple of days now, and the first thing I thought was "how odd that this really nice pencil doesn't include an eraser." As I revisited this page to review it, I noticed the product description says what sort of replacement eraser it takes.

To reveal the (very small) eraser, you must snap the cap onto the back end of the pencil, as when writing. This will make the silver button at the top of the cap extend. Pull this button out from the cap to reveal the eraser. Similarly the button of the top of the pencil body is removed to refill the leads. Might have been nice if they'd put little grooves in the cap's button as they did with the pencil's button to make it easier to remove.

Unlike most other mechanical pencils, the Pentel Sharp Kerry has a removable, snapping cap. This feature separates the pen as more of a professional, luxury writing instrument rather than a cheap office supply. The cap fits fairly firmly, though the connection is not as strong as I would like; I fear after a few years of use the cap would become loose.

When the cap is removed, the pen is quite small. It is much more comfortable to write with when posted. A sophisticated mechanism allows the lead to be advanced with the cap posted or not posted. The front of the cap also serves as a holder for a small eraser.

The body has a nice metallic finish that is pleasant to hold. The construction feels very durable and long lasting.

Overall, this is a great mechanical pencil. I would recommend it to anyone: students, engineers, and businessmen alike.

____________________________

Update: After 4 months of extensive daily use at school, I have to say that this pencil remains in excellent shape. The body is completely unmarked, and a quick clean with alcohol easily restores a clean feeling and a shiny barrel without any negative effects. Contrary to my fears, the cap is still tight and secure. The eraser has somewhat corroded and dried up, but I rarely use it, and it still works decently. Also considering the small size of the eraser, it is not really adequate, and an external eraser is useful in combination with this pencil. Regardless, these are minor detractors from the pencil as a whole. I have been collecting and using pens and pencils for many years and this is my favorite pencil.

The Sharp Kerry is the finest mechanical pencil I have owned to date. I use it every day for work as a project manager, I oversee bids, budgets and construction for large commercial projects.

The Share Kerry is the best I have found for every day use on plans, estimates and financial reporting. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one on Amazon as the price is the lowest around.

My only complaint if you can call it that is the pencil needs a better eraser, one that does not move while you use it - I do use a separate eraser for making changes.

honestly did not expect such quality from a mechanical pencil. I use pencils all the time because I'm a student right now and this one does not look or feel like any I've used before. looks too good to be just a pencil. definitely recommended.

This pencil looks great but like most mechanical pencils dont expect a great eraser. the eraser wiggles from side to side as you erase. If you dont mind using a separate eraser or have a electric eraser this is a great buy.

Long lasting pencil that looks sharp and has a cap that protects the lead when not in use.

Pro:

With normal mechanical pencils I push in the lead before I put the pencil in my pocket. When I use them again I have to click it a few times to get the lead out. As a result, I tend to destroy the mechanism that feeds the lead very quickly. With the Kerry pencil that is not a problem. I've never had the feed mechanism go bad and the cap protects the lead, my clothes and me.

Con:

The only problem I have is that the eraser is small and I go through it very quickly. I would recommend getting a comfortable eraser to go with it. Personally, I use the find the retractable erasers a good match. There is some concern with the propensity for losing the cap, however the cap snaps tightly in place and I quickly got used to it. While I have lost a few of the pencils, I have never misplaced the cap.

Conclusion:

It costs a bit more than most mechanical pencils, but even considering the small eraser, I think it is well worth the price. The first one I bought in the mid 90's was $18. I've been using them ever since. I always keep a couple of spares for gifts and in case I lose the one I'm using.

Warning:

It looks like a nice pen, so be prepared to have folks looking at your pencil and asking to use your pen. - Pentel - Drawing - Drawing Pencil - Architectural'

Ryobi 12 Volt Battery Charger

This is an excellent product. I ordered it to replace the original charger. It does an outstanding job of keeping my 14.4 batteries on ready. The online information states: "This charger is for use ONLY with the following Ryobi nickel cadmium batteries: #1400651, #1400652, #1400655, #1400671 and #1400672." However, my batteries are older models which have been replaced by one of these newer models/numbers and in that case the charger is applicable to some older model batteries. Ryobi Multi-Volt Battery Charger

I needed a both new battery pack and a charger, so I ordered the 12-volt battery shown as a combo-pack with the multi-volt charger. The batteries came from a different supplier than the charger and THEY ARE INCOMPATIBLE! THE 12-VOLT BATTERY WILL NOT EVEN GO INTO THE CHARGER! Why the heck does Amazon offer a combo pack of two products that won't work together??

I didn't realize that the multi charger that supposedly charged 9.6v thru 18 v ryobi batteries only charged batteries with certain numbers on them wether 9.6 or whatever. so none of the batteries I needed charged had the correct numbers on them. so the item is being returned due to none usefullness.

LM

Well, it let me know my battery for my power drill has died! Which means now I need to purchase a new batter to.

The charger is great, just can't say "I love it" since all it did was inform me my battery is deceased. :( Costs a fortune for a new battery. *sigh*

I haven't used it that much, but it works great on my 12-volt drill batteries. Plug it in, insert the battery, and it begins working. Nothing to set to handle the voltage, etc. Time will tell how it hols up.

great charger i have 14.4 and 18 volt batteries that i can charge with the same charger this charger is a must for a do it yourself or a contractor with the one system the battery can go from tool to tool great bang for the buck'

32 Inch Lcd

This is the first LCD TV I've bought so I did a tone of research before finally settling on this unit.

Things I love about this TV:

-The backlight on this thing turns way up so you don't have to worry about having dark scenes like in Interview with the vampire you can't see. The wide viewing angle is also great.

-On the quick menu you can easily change the sound between Music and Cinema and I can actually hear the difference. Yes they are tv speakers not surround sound but for my studio apartment it is more then adequate.

-I noticed I was getting a little noise on the sound when I had the Clear Voice on but totally fixed it when I put the Auto Volume option on in the audio main menu.

-I keep the tv on a lot for music during the day since I work from home and there is this great button on the remote labeled energy where you can quickly adjust from 100% which is the best for viewing to maximum energy saving. I like this not only for the energy savings but also to save the back light from 100% constant use.

-I noticed that one of my shows off of my Roku (digital box that streams netflix) wasn't HD and the picture wasn't looking to hot. I adjusted on the picture main menu the aspect ratio to Just Scan and it actually cleaned it up really nicely. This is important, several of my friends have really ritzy tv set ups but if it's not HD the picture is almost unbearable. This one you can watch older movies/tv shows and HD without having to fiddle with everything to get a good picture.

-Overall picture quality can be adjusted by so many advanced options that if you play with it I'm sure you can get exactly what you want.

-I know it is 720 versus 1080 but at this price range when I looked at the specs if you go for 1080 it seems that you will get dark spots in dark scenes and it's refresh rate will be so low that you will notice it in quick scenes plus the audio seemed unreliable. I think at this 32inch size 720 is really not that noticeable.

Very satisfied customer. Only complaint is you need 4 screws to attach the tv to it's base and my baggy only came with 3 in it. Luckily the hardware store is right down the street so I was able to get something comparable instead of waiting for them to ship it.

Do your self a favor, get some good HDMI cables with noise reduction that can handle full HD (found some on amazon for like $7). I haven't experienced any blurring at all on this tv while watching movies/shows like others have commented about. Regular cables don't cut it and you won't want to wait when your tv arrives.

Happy Viewing LG 32LD350 32-Inch 720p 60 Hz LCD HDTV

I have been waiting patiently for a few years now to make the switch from my 480i Toshiba 32" CRT to an HDTV. Thanks to a decent tax return I was finally able to join the Hi Def club. I live in a small apartment and already had a nice entertainment center which housed my aging Toshiba so I chose to stay with the 32" screen format as anything larger would not fit. After doing weeks of research it came down to this LG or the Samsung LN32C350. I found the picture quality to be almost identical and the price was the same for both, $399.00. I chose the LG because I got 10% off with a online coupon and no tax and free shipping from another online retailer. I couldn't be happier! This is one of the best purchases I have ever made. The TV is fantastic!, picture is bright, sharp, clear and gorgeous. The contrast ratio listed here is wrong though...it's not 50,000:1...it's actually 70,000:1...which is even better. I love the remote, easy to use menu and all the functions and options you can tweak. it's such an unbelievable difference seeing TV shows and movies in Hi Def. I can't comment on the sound as I have the TV speakers turned off because I have a pretty kick-ass surround sound system. I am A Dish Network subscriber and have it hooked to my VIP612 receiver and am loving it...also finally able to play my Xbox 360 in Hi Def and that is Da Bomb too!...BF:BC2 looks amazing! I was debating whether to get a 1080p or a 720p TV for a long time...then I found out (which I didn't realise) all HD TV signals...OTA (over the air), DirecTv, Cable, Dish Network are all broadcast in 720p/1080i...and since I don't watch blu-ray movies...spending extra money on a 1080p set just wouldn't make sense...also...on a TV 32" or less..the benefits of watching in 1080p are negligible. 720p looks phenomenal! It has a 1 year parts and labor warranty, and after you register it with LG you can extend your warranty by 2 years for $48...provided you do it in the 1st 180 days after purchase, so altogether you get a 3 year warranty for $48...from the manufacturer...not some 3rd party outfit, that's pretty good...I'll be doing that b4 my 180 days are up. I can't recommend this TV more...I am now an LG fanboy.

*** See posts from U. Viveros (Aug 8th) for info on the panel display on this tv***

Picture quality on this tv is excellent (it has an IPS panel), black levels are impressive, color is vibrant. And you can tweak the picture to your likeing with a ton of various options. Took me a while to get the picture quality just right for gaming, HD content and SD content. SD tv actually looks pretty good on this tv, suprisingly sharp picture quality on it. Though this being a LCD tv the picture isn't crystal clear, in darker areas you can see some obvious blurring or trailing (but only if you really want to notice, and its not as bad as the latest Samsung), in brighter areas blurring is not noticeable at all (in Modern Warfare 2 for example darker wood textures you can see the blur when moving, on brighter wall textures there is no blur).

Speakers are decent, not going to blow you away with the sound but they aren't complete crap either. Like the picture - sound also has various tweaking options.

Remote is pretty standard, doesn't look cheap and doesn't go overboard with the options. But is has everything you'd accept to be on it.

Also has a headphone jack (and unlike Samsungs you can control the volume of the headphone jack with your remote).

You can also display pictures or play music with a usb stick, I don't think I'll be using this feature. Would've been nice if it allowed you to play videos from the usb stick...but they only have that feature on their higher end models.

One problem is that if you switch the input to hdmi and then go back to AV or TV input...there is no sound. You have the turn off the tv and turn is back again to get the sound back.

4/5.

I paid $[...], amazon now dropped the price.'

Kreepy Krauly

I bought this after my Hayward Navigator died, mainly because it cost half as much and it was the least expensive in-ground cleaner that people seem to be happy with from what I can see on the Internet. After using it I found that it is really a great cleaner. It seems to be especially resistant to jamming compared to the Navigator, which would get small pebbles or twigs caught in it's turbine.

It comes with some nice translucent hose sections which seem more flexible than what I get a the pool store. It also has an adapter for a dedicated cleaner port (if you have one) a telepole attachment so that it can be used manually and a flow gauge.

It does clean the shallow end of my pool and seems especially good at scrubbing the walls. It does occasionally get stuck on the pool light (of all places)

The manual does not say that it is not designed to clean the shallow end. It does say that it will spend most of it's time is the deep end, but that is normal for non-robotic cleaners.

I wouldn't trade it for a new Navigator even though they cost twice as much. Pentair GW9500 Kreepy Krauly Great White Automatic Pool Cleaner for In-Ground Pools, Grey/Black

We bought this cleaner from Pool Supply World based on the positive feedbacks from other people. It was a disaster! The cleaner was stuck in one place and didn't even move no matter what pressure level you set on. We called the Pool Supply World and was initially told that we could not return it since we put it under water already (but how could you know it didn't work without testing it?). They asked us to contact the manufacturer and we did. The manufacture said it may be a defect and sent us another one. It was getting better, the vacuum finally moved around the pool, but needs CONSISTENT attention! We tried and tried and finally gave up. We called the Pool Supply World for return, and finally they agreed, but charged us 20% for restocking fee!!

I am not a person who usually writes reviews for products unless it is supper good or bad. For this one, I definitely would NOT recommend it to other people. And be cautious to buy from the online pool store since they charge very high restocking fee!

I never take time to write reviews, but this has to be the worst product that I have purchased on Amazon! The sweeper doesn't work,it just goes around in a circle in the deep end of the pool only, the shallow end of the pool never gets clean. I should have returned it right away but I originally thought that maybe it was a suction issue with my new Pentair variable speed pump. I have tried every speed and adjustment but end up with the same result, the cleaner just cleans the deep end of the pool! Lastly, the cleaning that is does is not very thorough, the brushes barely clean any dirt that has settled, it will only pick up larger items effectively. I would not recommend this product for any reason unless you want a very expensive paper weight in the bottom of your pool.

I am so glad I found this product. When my inground pool was new 10 years ago we had the same automatic vacuum cleaner. My granddaughter though she could "take a ride" on the vacuum and she broke it! When we purchased the vacuum the company was called Sta-Rite.; I looked for that product but couldn't find it. In the intrum I purchased another automatic cleaner that I HATED!! I started to surf the net looking for a new vacuum system when I finally found this one - I immediately recognized the picture and bought it on the spot. Shipping was very quick and the price of this pool vacuum is excellent!! It's great because you don't need any tools and you don't have to calibrate anything, just plug it in and it works!! It does a great job in cleaning the pool - it also will creep up the walls and works on the stairs too!! I will never use another vacuum as long as this one is available.

I was looking for a low priced efficient auto pool cleaner to replace my ever-dying, undependable, expensive to repair Hayward Navigator. Reading the reviews of the GW9500 on Amazon, it seemed that only 1/3 of the reviewers were dissatisfied with the performance of the GW.I found it on Ebay for 289.00, w/free shipping and a 50.00 rebate from Pentair; so I took a 240.00 chance.

Connected the hoses, dumped the GW9500 in the pool, then turned the pump on. It was that easy. I have a screen enclosed kidney shaped pool 30x16 with 6ft depth, gunite pool with no swim outs, three steps in the shallow end and a ladder in the deeper end. The pool is spotless, the GW9500 never gets stuck, evenly cleans, and it scours the walls like a Catfish. I leave it in the pool and it cleans with each cycle of the pool pump. All I do is add chemicals to the pool; the GW9500 does the rest. Worthy of mention, I fired my pool service that charged 95.00 a month.

Update 05/26/2011: Still working great; pool sparkles. Glad I chose the GW9500.

I would have wanted to read that this model is not designed to clean the shallow end well. Really??- "not designed". I had to pull up troubleshooting in the instructions to learn this important fact. After 2 8hr cycles, it was clear this was not doing a good job in the shallow end. Easy to install and fine tune. I like that it has coarse bristles to brush away algae. And it did a good job in the deep end.

I was lured to this cleaner by the good price and overall good reviews. What a mistake! Do yourself a favor...spend an extra $100-200 and get something that works well. I have had this cleaner now for about 6 months and I'm so frustrated with it. The time that I was spending manually vacuuming my in-ground pool, I'm now spending constantly moving it (because it gets stuck) and adjusting my pool valves. There are 2 problems with this cleaner. First, it gets stuck on the steps, on the pool drains, and on the pool light. Once it gets stuck, it will sit in the same place for HOURS if you do not go out to the pool and physically move the cleaner to another location. In fact, mine is stuck as I write this review. I've already had to move / free it about 10 times in the past hour! The second problem is that the cleaner is extremely sensitive to the adjustment of your valves (the amount of suction you have on the cleaner line or skimmer line). Too much suction and the cleaner will come up the wall of the pool and try to come OUT of the pool. Of course, it will not come out of the pool because it starts sucking air and then loses all power / suction. If you leave the valves on this setting, it will happen over and over and over again. In the long term, this will damage your pump because pumps do not like air. If you adjust the valves to a slightly weaker suction setting, the cleaner gets stuck on everything, including the drains and pool light, as mentioned earlier.'
