American Weigh - grains, pocket scale
I bought this precision scale and calibration weight set specifically so that I could tell whether a clear round brilliant cut gemstone that I have was a real diamond or a synthetic diamond. I measured the diameter and depth of the stone with a caliper and then used a mathematical formula to determine what the gem SHOULD weigh if it were a diamond perfectly cut, which was a little over 1.97 carats. Then I used the scale to weigh the stone. It weighed 3.4 carats, meaning that it's cubic zirconia, which has a specific gravity much higher than that of a diamond.
Oh well, at least I know for sure, instead of having to trust a jeweler to tell me the truth about it.
By the way, this scale is quite small and light, can use several different units of measure, and arrived with batteries installed and ready for the calibration to be tested and the scale to be used. AmericanWeigh Silver Precision Digital Pocket Scale 1543 x 0.1 grain and 100 x 0.01 gram With 100 Gram Calibration Weight
DBRoth provides the one piece chrome calibration weight as pictured, in a plastic carrying case. I saw in reviews of other vendors that the 100g weight provided was inferior and in one case, missing a screw-on handle (!). The scale is very nice for a variety of uses where precision is required, and the sensitivity to measure grains at this price is an outstanding value. Readout is bright and and calibration is pass/fail, a nice feature imo.
I collect tobacco pipes and blend pipe tobacco for my own use, and I needed a small digital scale for measuring out the differant tobacco's. I originally bought the 100 gram scale but realized that I should have purchased the 600 gram scale for weighing larger amounts.I knew it was worth the money so I purchased the 600 gram scale too. They also work great for weighing my small packages and envelopes that I mail, now I can figure my postage before going to the post office. They are both very easy to use and I'm very satisfied with the quality of both of these scales.I recommend these two scales to anyone needing a small scale. And for the price,I am glad that I bought both of them. Good Luck
First, although the item arrived within the estimated period (barely), it was one of the slowest deliveries I've ever had on an Amazon purchase.
Then, as others here have written, there was no calibration weight included. No space for it in the package, no separate package, no indication that it should have been included. When contacted, Amazon said it could not rectify this by sending me the weight; the seller had apparently changed its policy without changing its listing.
Last, the batteries were already set in the active battery compartment without a separator between them and the contacts, and thus they were DOA.
All around one of the worst purchasing experiences I've had with Amazon, but it's all on the store that listed these scales, Potential Dynamix. I returned the item, got a refund approved, ordered a Polder scale directly from Amazon and received it within three business days. My recommendation: avoid Potential Dynamix and its false advertising.
I am disappointed because this scale combo has been misrepresented. It states a 100 gram calibration weight is included and it wasn't. I can't wait a month for the turnaround of a return and refund, so I guess I get to eat it since they won't just send the calibration weight to me that THEY DID NOT INCLUDE. Give me what I paid for!!!!!
Well this happens to be my first pocket scale, and it is GREAT!
It has a sleek and compact design, it's made of black plastic and has a bright blue LED.
It is very accurate AT least to .1 (I only had other .1 scales to compare it too), but be careful it is QUITE fragile. After less than a month of owning, and I'll be honest, a fair amount of abuse the weight is off and calibration will not fix it. If you don't plan on constantly dropping this thing, then that shouldn't be a concern.
It's VERY NICE for weighing your "stuff", just be sure to get a tray for weighing, the warranty will NOT ACCEPT the scale if it has foreign residues.
Overall, an awesome value, I'm off to buy a replacement for the one I broke. AMW scales are the best!
(Also I included a picture of the product and it's contents in the "Customer Images' section, I have a card on the scale for a sizing reference for those interested)
I bought this to doublecheck a more expensive jewelry/gem scale
and was impressed with its accuracy and ease of use. Whenever
using a scale for small items, you should have a calbration weight
on hand --- this was right-on.
Occasionally it will read a thousandth of a gram low or high, but otherwise performs perfectly. Yes, you must keep air currents out off of the scale and item being weighed for 0.01 gram accuracy. Also, the scale must be placed on a very stable platform. The heavier the better. Even minute vibration of the unit will affect readings, sometimes significantly. With no way of testing the 100 gram weight itself for accuracy, I'll just comment that the chrome on it is crude. The scale itself is better made and nicer appearing than I expected from the photos. Very handy, fits in a standard pant pocket. All in all, worth every penny of the $16.99 I paid for it.
This scale is easy to use, is reliable, and seems accurate.
Out-of-the-box experience was easy. Just take the wrapper off the two included batteries, press the power button, and calibrate it following the instructions printed on the inside lid.
If you turn on the scale and it doesn't show 0.00 on the screen, it is time to recalibrate. This happened to me three times in one week, probably because of temperature changes in my house as winter rolled in. I recommend keeping the calibration weight next to the scale.
Aside from the 100-g weight, I have no way of checking the accuracy of the scale, but I will say that it is consistent and reliable. I can weigh the same thing multiple times and get the same reading, assuming I give it time to settle, and allowing for edge conditions where it might go up or down 0.01g.
I bought this scale for a science experiment that my son did that required him to detect weight change as mold grew on bread. The weighing plate is raised above the surface of the scale a little, so we could keep the bread in plastic food savers and still get good measurements. Day-by-day the change was around 0.10g so this scale had the perfect mix of precision and price. - Pocket Scale - Grains - Homebrewing - American Weigh'

Keyboard Protector - macbook pro, accessories
I was a little skeptical about purchasing this since there were only a few reviews, but I think this was a great buy! I was originally geared more toward the transparent, thin keyboard skin but the price deterred me. This particular product was way cheaper, and the quality is great! I really like the fact that the keys are black, because at first glance, people don't even realize I had a keyboard skin on! The fit is perfect, and I actually like the fact that it is slightly thicker than the clear transparent ones because the edges don't curl or lift up at all (however its thin enough that the laptop opens/closes without any issues). It comes in the mail in just a plastic USPS bag, with no filler material, so I was scared that it would be bent or have fold marks, but it was just fine!
I purchased this keyboard for my MacBook Pro 13" Aluminum Unibody. GTMax Aluminum Unibody Apple MacBook / Pro / Air Silicone Keyboard Skin Cover...
I didn't like the transparent keyboard covers so I was happy to find this one, with the keys printed on it. It said it was just for the aluminum macbooks, but I have a new white macbook unibody, and the keyboard looked similar enough. I was a little nervous that it wouldn't fit, but happily, it fits very well! It doesn't slide around when I type, and it fits over the keys very nicely.
My only concern is that the keys that are printed on the cover might rub off after a while. It seems fine so far, and it's not expensive so I could buy another one if I needed to.
Also, I do have to type a little harder than I did before (but that applies to every cover). And it's just something I have to get used to.
Overall very happy with purchase.
Basically I was very impressed with this keyboard protector UNTIL my macbook pro fans started to spin faster. I called up Apple and they told me ventilation uses the spaces in the keyboards to pull in air. So using this will block the intake, and cause the fans to spin harder. So you have two options stay vigilant and keep your keyboard clean or use this and maybe cause your macbook pro fans to spin harder. I choose to take the cover off, even though I tought the product was great initially.
I have the new white unibody MacBook Amateur (May 2010 release), and I was a bit worried about the fit, as this seems to have been designed for the MacBook Pro; however, it fits perfectly. In fact, based on the other reviews, it may even be better for the Amateur than for the Pro. It gives the computer a really spiffy look and since the keys don't light up on the Amateur anyway, you don't lose that functionality.
It isn't perfect, however, and there are some significant drawbacks. First off, two of the keys already had the lettering partially rubbed off before I even got it. Due to the nature of this defect, It looks like the skin got folded at some point and two keys got stuck together or something like that, so I would definitely highly recommend NOT folding this up. I know some people take the skin off whenever they aren't using the computer, so this could be kind of a pain. It also does indicate to me that, most likely, the markings will rub off over time from use; however, it's really cheap, so I have no problem with replacing it.
The reason I have heard for taking off the skin whenever you close the book is to prevent the keys from ruining the screen, as this raised piece of silicon is being pushed up against it for long periods of time. I haven't seen any proof of this; however, I haven't been using it for very long. I would be very curious to hear feedback regarding this from people who have been using the skin for a while now.
It also does make it harder to type. You have to hit the keys harder and there also just seems to be something awkward about typing on it. Maybe it's just the feel of the silicone? I can't fully explain it, but I definitely type a lot slower now, and I don't think it's just because you have to hit the keys harder, as I've got one of those old springy keyboards at work that require hammar like strength to use. If I don't get used to it over time and it continues to hinder my typing ability, it will make this worthless to me. I'm a really fast typer, which is extremely necessary as I'm a law school student, and all we do is type constantly.
As a side note, the reason I have this new computer is because I spilled coffee on the keyboard of my previous MacBook. I haven't spilled anything on this one (yet), but it does entirely cover the keys and lays very nicely on the board; so, when I do spill something, I am pretty confident about the ability for this to protect my Amateur. I would do a test like they do on TV with ziplock bags and detergents by pouring various types of liquid on it, like red wine and coffee, to be able to attest to it's ability to prevent meltdown; however, I don't think the fine people at Apple intended the extended warrantee to cover field tests. - Keyboard - Accessories - Macbook Pro - Keyboard Protector'

Audio Visual Wall Mount - audio visual wall mount, audio-video shelving
This was delivered in one day. Good Condition. Picture instructions easy to follow.
Wasn't a wood stud where it needed to be installed. I tried using supplied drywall anchors and screws. The plastic anchors messed up using an electric drill and screws were to large.
I had the common problem of creating a rounded out hole to big for the anchors.(stuff happens!) So,I checked my surplus hardware stash and found two metal drywall anchors with the spring loaded wing-nuts that lockup against the inside of the drywall. These are the best for any weight bearing install.
I didn't rate the shelf system 5 stars because of the supplied anchors & screws.
The shelf system was great and goodlooking. A very sturdy shelf holds the cable box and above on the next shelf is my blu-ray player. Adjusting the shelves was easy. I really liked being able to arrange all cables neatly through cableways on each side of the base and behind the shelf holders. This made a nice clean setup. Very pleased with the final results.
I experienced no instability in any of the shelves as I read in some review. This my be because of the use of the supplied anchoring hardware. Before install, go to the hardware store and get better hardware for the drywall. In my opinion, the metal wing-nut toggle bolt type are the best for load bearing shelving. AVF ES250B-T Wall Mounted AV Component Shelving System with 2 Adjustable Tempered Glass Shelves (Black)
I was looking for a cheap wall shelf unit, but I wish I would've shopped more. This unit is very visually pleasing; however, lacks stability. The drywall anchors that come with it don't work very well. I eventually made them work, but recommend getting other anchors if you have the choice. I got the anchors tight to the wall, but the shelves will sway side to side way more than I expect if bumped. The shelf looks very nice if you put it up away from contact, but I fear things may fall off them as wobbly as they are.
The main support track attaches with 2 screws right through the middle and once you get the shelves and components on them, they swing from side to side...a lot (I screwed straight into stud...not drywall using anchors). Also, I have an Onkyo reciever (a fairly heavy AV component) on the bottom shelf and the front sags down about 3 inches so its pitched forward pretty severely. I happen to have my DVR sitting on a very stable shelf below it and have cut a couple 3" spacers that I put under the 2 front corners of the shelf to prop it up. This is not ideal and if I had this free standing on a wall with nothing beneath so I could prop it up, it would be completely unacceptable. like I said, the reciever is on the heavy side but not absurdly so. I assume a lot of people considering this would want it to support their reciever (since that's a pretty major part of the system).
Also, my HD cable box/DVR made the shelf pitch forward as well and with the cable attaching at the back sticking out a little like it does, the box had to hang over the front edge (all 4 'feet' were on the shelf however). So if you have a box like this from Comcast or Charter, just be aware.
It does look great and if you plan to put it somewhere it would never get bumped and only put light components on it (PS3, DVD or Bluray player), it would probably work fine for you.
It's exactly what they promise... Simple wall mount shelf that fits cable box and media center perfectly. Also it gives you an ability to expand it with another one if needed. Until I found this item I was looking for a wooden shelf 12 inches wide and it proven to be more trouble then it was worth it. I totally recommend this item. It works, has good quality and sturdy. Also for $40 it's a steal :D
This shelf system looks really nice and is very sturdy. I installed it directly below my 46" LCD TV in my bedroom. The installation instructions are shown via pictures and not text, so if you have never put a hole in the wall to hang something up before, just be cautious. Take into consideration where the nearest electrical outlet is and also where the studs are. The shelving unit may not line up with the TV if you choose a stud due to the way the TV is mounted (typically between two studs). If you are not putting a lot of weight on it, there is nothing wrong with tapping directly into the drywall, because they provide you the necessary hardware to mount it either way. Prior to having this system, my cable receiver box was on the floor which looked terrible. Now, the receiver is on the shelf with a blu-ray player and the cables run directly below to the electrical outlet. I don't think there is a way to completely hide the cables, but it most certainly looks much better than previously. One more nice thing about this shelving unit is that it can be expanded by buying another which would yield four shelves if needed, so consider mounting the first one high enough in case expansion is ever needed.
Overall, this product looks good and functions like it was designed to. I have had it up for about a month and it is still in tact. - Home Theater Component Shelf - Audio Visual Wall Mount - Shelf - Audio-video Shelving'

Ankle Weights
After all the negative reviews I've read about other ankle weights, I got these and they are perfect. I think they cost a bit more than the usual but well worth it. I put them on the first time and not one complaint and I have very small ankles and am a beginner exerciser, so I was worried, but they are perfect. I highly recommend them. Thera-Band Comfort Fit Ankle/Wrist Cuff Weight Sets - Sold in Pairs-5lbs (two 2.5 lb cuffs)-Blue
I wear the green ones when power walking. It's only been about a week but I can already tell the difference in my thighs and glutes. Today, by accident, I discovered that they're much more comfortable if I wear them with the closure in the back.
It doesn't say in the product description, but the grey ribbon at the top and bottom is reflective -- a small but very effective safety feature. I walk along residential streets near my home, so being seen by drivers is important.
I bought the 1 lb. weights to put on my wrists when I do aerobics but my wrists are so skinny that they would shift every time I lifted my arms up and down. So I decided to put them on my ankles instead. If you put on a pair of thin socks and then the weights over them, its a pefect fit. Snug, no movement...can't even tell you have them on. Great for wearing while doing housework or anything while moving around. I may get the 2 lb. weights for a better workout.
Works really well and super comfortable. It is lined with soft terry cloth so no chaffing on your ankles. I wear them almost everyday doing my mat and barre workouts and they add that extra resistance comfortably.
These work just like they are supposed to. The straps are very adjustable, so they fit well around my small ankles. I got the 3 lbs. and am glad I did. I use these with "Brazil Butt Lift" and was going to go with the lighter weights, but these are just the right weight. It makes the work harder, I feel a burn, but it isn't too difficult.
These ended up being exactly as I expected. Great quality, easy to use and they don't make you look like a dork.. A great work out is wearing them while on the treadmill and holding arms out straight in front of you.
Very pleased with them. I use both 2.5 cuffs on my ankle to do an exercise that my physical therapist instructed me to do, twice a day. Easy to attach. My only concern is over the long run, how durable will the velco straps prove to be. Only time will tell. Thinking of buying the one pound weights in the future.'

Panasonic Cordless Phone
Panasonic KX-TG6545B DECT 6.0 PLUS Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System with 5 Handsets
Just to qualify - I rely HEAVILY on my phones for constant daily use in work / business calls and I use the headset feature a lot as well as speakerphone. I've been using similar types of phones for about 5 years now and have owned Uniden TRU8885, Uniden TRU9485, Uniden DECT2085-3, and Panasonic KX-TG1033S.
I've been using this new set of Panasonic KX-TG6545B DECT 6.0 for about 32 days (as of the time of this review) and so far these are the best out of the bunch.
LIKES:
- Handsets are lightweight and comfortable
- VERY EASY TO SET UP AND GET RUNNING
- Sound is clear on handset AND HEADSET (optional separate purchase), the latter of which is really important to me
- Almost no crackling noise when I accidentally shift the headset connector around
- Talking Caller ID actually works! It's not perfect at pronouncing some words, but you definitely know who is calling without looking
- Very full array of features!
- Buttons are big enough for people like me with big hands, and the spacing between the buttons really helps avoid wrong presses
- Battery life is excellent AND they take standard NiMH AAA rechargeables, so NO MORE PROPRIETARY BATTERY REPLACEMENT HASSLES! BIG PLUS!
- Lots of redial and caller ID memory
- Phonebook groups for easy lookup and dial quickly
- AUTOMATICALLY copies your phonebooks to all handsets just by saving an entry on one handset
DISLIKES:
- The speaker phone on the handsets is a tiny bit too susceptible to background noise, but still acceptable
- Still, as with all others like these, on rare occasion the sound drops out or phone says no signal even 2-feet away from base. (HOWEVER, this problem occurs less than with any of the other 4 or 5 brands/models I've tried)
- There is some lag (delay) when answering a new call or flashing to another incoming call. Have to wait a couple seconds for the other party to hear you pick up.
OVERALL IMPRESSION:
I'm much more satisfied with this set than any of the others I've tried in this price-range. It's not perfect, but definitely 4-Star worthy and I would recommend trying this set if you need a multi-handest DECT 6 solution to cover the whole house.
UPDATE - MARCH 7, 2011
I've now been using this KX-TG6545B set daily for over 6 months, and I still love it. It is undoubtedly better (in my opinion) then all of the other sets I tried and listed in the beginning of my review. The headset jacks on the handsets still sound perfectly clean with no crackling (whereas almost all the other sets had headset jack noise issues) and the phones hold a charge for far longer than I expected. The features are fantastic and easy to customize. And even on 3 different floors of the house including the basement I can only recall losing signal / range twice since I wrote the original review. Best in class, in my opinion, and I would definitely recommend this set over any of the others I mentioned! If you depend on your phones daily for heavy use and important calls, but you don't have a thousand bucks to spend, this set is affordable, reliable, easy, and feature-rich. Panasonic KX-TG6545B DECT 6.0 PLUS Expandable Digital Cordless Phone with Answering System and 5 Handsets
When I need a cordless telephone, I only look at one brand: "Panasonic". I've tried many brands and was never completely satisfied like I am with a Panasonic. In fact I have returned every other brand of cordless phone that I have ever purchased. They're just not as good as Panasonic.
The sound quality is outstanding and the ease of use is unbelievable. The only thing that I am dissatisfied with in this newest handset design is that Panasonic changed the "message waiting indicator light" on the top of the handset. The light no longer wraps around to the front and back of the phone. It is now mounted flush on the top of the handset. If you are at eye level with the phone you cannot see that the message waiting light is flashing. A very poor design. The handset does however display that a voice message is waiting on the front LCD screen, but it does not attract your attention like a flashing light.
Speaking of the LCD screen, this has got to be the best LCD screen that I have ever seen in my entire life. The print is very large and super easy to read. The white back-lighting is phenomenal with a very high contrast. You will love it!
The illuminated keypad is one of the main reason I purchased this phone. I had an older Panasonic that still works like a champ, but I wanted the illuminated keypad feature which my old unit did not have.
Talking caller ID is another big selling point. It's so nice not to get up to read the information off of the screen when the phone rings. All of the handsets plus the base unit announce who is calling in a very clear and easy to hear and understand voice. Nice job Panasonic!
This phone was so easy to set up that I did not even open the instruction manual. Everything was intuitive.
Lastly, when you buy Panasonic, you know you are going to get a quality product. I own their Plasma TV's, Technics Turntables, Electric Razors just to name a few. All state of the art technology and quality!'

Battery Chargers - motorcycle, battery chargers
In the analysis of buying a Tender Jr. vs. a Tender Plus, the main issues are time to full charge, battery size, & parasitic draw. The Tender Plus (1.25) will get the job done twice as fast as the Tender Jr. (0.75). Both now are similar architecturally, save it be the charging power & lack of temperature compensation on the Jr. They both are 4 stage, both have the same sophisticated computer chip technology running the charging process, etc... I spoke to The Deltran(The Manufacturer) customer service department on 3 different occasions, making sure I had the facts right. The first 2 times I was misinformed about the temperature compensation issue. I am editing this review to be accurate as of today's date of 12/01/10. Because The Plus will bring a battery to full charge twice as quickly as The Jr. will, The Plus has a much better chance at overcoming a parasitic draw on your batteries power. Modern cars have sophisticated electronics that require constant power 24/7. Check all your battery connections & your alternator belt!!! If the connections are not clean & tight, clean it with original coca-cola and a rag / brush, make sure they fit snugly. If your alternator belt is too loose it will not charge your battery properly. If you only want to buy one Tender, don't cheap out, buy The Plus if you have the money to do so. If you want to buy 2 or 3 Tenders to make sure all your batteries are fully charged, the Jr. will probably do just fine. I personally alternate The Jr. between 3 different cars, if I had it to do over again, I would buy The Plus instead as I am not a patient person. Both models will turn off in 72 hours automatically if a full charge is not reached, & neither will start charging without at least 3 volts stored in the battery before initiating a charge. If you left your lights on for 4 days like I did, get a jump, & drive your car around for 30 minutes before hooking up any Tender to charge your dead battery. Either of these 2 Battery Tenders are the best in the world, don't bother doing anymore research, I have done it all for you. Buy one or buy both!!! I bought The Plus model a few months ago also... These babies save you $$$, time & frustration!!! Get the 25 foot extension if you want to charge a car that sits in the driveway, it's only $12. You might also want to buy the Cigarette Lighter Apapter to charge cars that have the battery in the trunk, like the BMW E39 models. [...] Battery Tender 021-0123 Battery Tender Junior 12V Battery Charger
January 2011 update: I've had one hooked up to my 2003 Chevy S-10 since July 2008 and another to my 2004 Kawasaki Z1000 since February 2008. The S-10 has an Optima battery installed August 2006 and the Kawasaki a Deka installed August 2008. Both of these batteries are premium quality and represent the finest in their class available to the average consumer. Nonetheless, I am certain the BT Jr. is the primary reason the Optima retains 81% of cranking health and the Deka 71%. (Search my other reviews for the Argus BB-SBM12 and BB-SBM12-PS Battery Bug monitors as to the source of those percentages.)
As for the 3-step model... It's doubtful you'll ever run into one of these now. Unless it's dust and grime encrusted, hanging on a hook in that truck stop 2 miles off I40 in Two Guns, AZ.
Temperature compensation doesn't seem to have been as critical as I might have expected.
ORIGINAL REVIEW July 2008:
There are two things you need to consider when purchasing this item.
First, unlike its big brother, the Plus, the Junior is not temperature compensated. To find out more about that, go to batterytender.com, click on the FAQs link on the left and read item #18: "What is Temperature Compensation and how important is it?"
I was concerned about this, as living in the desert as I do, the temperature in my garage is 90 to 130 degrees most of the year and can drop to the 50s in the winter. I inquired about this to Battery Tender support and received this answer: "The Junior is not a temperature compensating unit, however, when the temperature is hotter, the unit will actually charge the battery a bit faster and it will not harm the battery." I don't know what to make of this, especially since compensation is so important according to their FAQ.
The other is to make sure you get the 4-step Junior which replaced the 3-step over a year and a half ago. On the back side of the packaging on the left side look for the reference to "Complete 4-step."
That being said, I've been using a Junior for almost 6 months on my motorcycle so I can't post up my experience as well as others here. I'm hoping it will provide my batteries with more service than the 14-16 months I'm used to.
By popular acclaim and editorial content, the Junior and the Plus have garnered untarnished reputations and withstood the test of time. For maintaining your battery, there really isn't anything else out there. - Battery Charger - Battery Chargers - Motorcycle - Batterytender Charger Battery'

Wandas Evil Scheme - sharpie, permanent markers
It seems pointless or even funny to review something as common as a 12 pack of Sharpies. The fact of the matter is it's worth reviewing. These are high quality permanent markers. Without a doubt Sharpie is the trusted name in permanent writing utensils. During my entire life I have been calling black permanent markers as Sharpies, a testament to its popularity. The reason Sharpie is so good is that it is completely safe, and highly permanent and very reliable. For anyone worried about ingestion, or eye contact, or even any other safety situation with a Sharpie, should rest assured. Under all normal circumstances Sharpie is very safe, in fact if you want more information it can be easily accessed from their MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) readily available on their website. Although I myself have been using Sharpies to identify my own clothes, Sanford (the company that produces Sharpies) highly recommends not using it on clothes as it can run or bleed in the wash, and also after time it may leave a yellow halo around the marking. Although Sharpie claims that it will "remain permanent under most chemical washes, and extreme heat and steam (up to 500 degrees F)" it is possible to remove it form clothes. They claim that stain remover can work, but to use extreme caution. A detailed summery of how to clean a stained garment can be found on their website FAQ. Sharpie is the highest quality permanent marker I have ever used, it is used frequently in my workplace, and is always reliable. I suggest it to everyone; it is also made in the U.S.A., which presents a trusted quality. A very good permanent marker, 5 out of 5. Sharpie Fine Point Permanent Markers, 12 Black Markers(30001)
You could wonder why anyone would wax enthusiastic about a pen, but Sharpie fine-point markers are outstanding for a huge variety of applications. They write on plastic freezer and storage bags without smearing. They write on 3M Post-It Flags neatly and with the fine point you can actually write small enough to write something useful.
These markers also seem to last a long time if you take care to cap them as soon as you are finished with them. You also need to be careful not to get the tips wet or to damage the tip, but as long as you do not drop the pen on its tip it is reasonably durable.
We have tried a lot of different pens and markers for writing on plastic, and have had limited success. Many pens seem to take forever to dry or will not mark on plastic. Magic Markers work, but they are too wide and have an unlovely smell. So far Sharpie permanent fine-point markers avoid these problems, and provide sharp print for nearly all labeling needs. In fact, I will warn you that you should take care what you write on, because once you have used the Sharpie, it can be nearly impossible to get the ink out.
I use this marker on my socks. I write an "S" on the bottom of each sock to make sure that no one else attempts to claim them. Wash after wash, the letter is still there.I also use it to write in my school books. I'm in college and books are very expensive. I write my name in all of my books, as well as on my notebooks and disks.I have accidentally gotten this on my hand more than once. I just wash my hands with soap and water. It may take 2 or 3 hand washings to get it off. These markers are also great for posters because the line is thick enough for poster board.
Other Amazon reviewers noted that the Sharpie permanent ultra fine point markers come in handy as an artistic tool and as a permanent marker for bags like the ones that that store food in your freezer--and they are right. This pen is able to do a wide range of things regarding labeling, drawing and even writing on glass, foil and rubber. Excellent!
The Sharpie black ink is excellent quality and it will never let you down; these pens last a good while. It's economical to buy them in a twelve pack, too.
One drawback to these pens--the ink becomes nearly impossible to remove once you've written on tape or drawn something on paper. Think of that before you use these to write and draw! Another caveat: don't use these to write on media like blank CD-Rs and blank DVD-Rs. The ink eventually will seep through the thin upper coating of the disc and then compromise your data, music or video stored on that disc. (In fact, don't write with anything on the actual discs.) Also keep in mind that although these are called "ultra fine" markers the ink is much thicker than a fine tipped ballpoint pen.
The ink in the Sharpie ultra fine pens stays fresh just so long as you close the cap completely before putting the pen away. Be sure to do that or the ink can easily dry out.
Overall, these markers by Sharpie are probably some of the most versatile pens out there. Sharpie calls them a marker but you can also think of them as a pen.
Use them in good health!
I use Sharpie Fine Point Permanent Markers for lots of things -- but I especially like to use them for writing checks. The concentrated black color provides, I feel, a measure of security. And, because so much of banking today is done on line, when you want to see a canceled check on your bank's web site, this ink makes the details that you've written easier to see.
They are also great for addressing packages. Once again, the ink gives an extra degree of security.
These are good pens!
At the store, 2 Sharpie markers cost $3.00. Here I got 12 Sharpie markers for $4.00! Tried out all the markers when I got them and they all work. Not a single dry one in the bunch! And not some cheap copycat, they really are Sharpies! So glad I didn't buy from the store... it would have cost me $18.00 for the same dozen!
Sharpies are Sharpies, they are a great felt tip marker, great fine tip when you first get them, and they always seem to work. The best part of 12packs is they become cheep. I get the boxes because they seem to walk away and get left places. I really don't know what to say but if you are needing a marker, then get 12 of them because you will always loose one. - Sharpie - Office Supplies - Permanent Markers - Marker'

Notebook Power Adapters - notebook power adapters, ac power adapter
An item like this either works, or it doesn't, so it's either 5 stars or 1 star. 5 from me because I've had it for a few weeks now and it seems to work just fine. I was concerned when ordering it due to the few bad reviews, but it was so darned cheap I couldn't resist. I went ahead and wrapped electrical tape around the computer plug-in and the first inch of wire to protect it from too much bending and pressure, because that's where my original one failed and I can imagine an inexpensive item like this not tolerating a lot of use/abuse. AC Adapter/Power Supply for HP Pavilion dv1000 dv4000 dv5000 dv6000
The vendor shipped product ontime, but the product is very poorly made. You should find an alternate product. I bought this adapter so I could leave one in the office and one at home and not stress the cables.
This one worked great for one day. There is a bad connection now where the wire attaches to the adapter. This cable is very cheaply made and lacks flexibility. I will work with vendor to get it replaced, but given the workmanship, it's just a matter of time before it happens again.
My HP DV1340US exhibits the "typical" power jack overheating problem. I attempted to replace the power jack unsuccessfully and gave up, deciding to purchase AC adapters whenever necessary. This adapter is about the sixth that I have purchased so far, each one from a different seller.
I have paid as much as $40 for an adapter. What I received from OptimumSolutions for $8.00 (including S&H) is identical in every way to the $40 adapter. By the way, the company selling the $40 adapter presented a picture of an adapter quite different from the typical PPP009L (or PA-1650-02H); the adapter pictured looked like it was better quality. What I received was the same ol' PPP009L! So, I have yet to see a "higher quality" HP AC adapter. All six have been the same components distributed under different part numbers.
Some complain of the adapter becoming excessively hot. Yes, the transformer does become very hot if your laptop has the overheating issue (most do); however, so is your power jack. As far as I know, it is not the adapter's fault. I believe that the laptop draws more current than the small adapter jack can handle. Notice the newer HP laptops--much larger adapter plugs are used now!
Here are ways that I minimize a very real fire hazard. If you run your laptop on battery, shut the laptop down to recharge. Limit the time that the laptop is recharging at the same time it is running. Attached devices such as PCMCIA cards or USB drives, as well as running graphics-intensive or disk-intensive programs, will all cause your jack to heat up; monitor your usage carefully. When overheating occurs, you have no choice but to disconnect the adapter plug, cool it down, then plug it in again. A damp (not wet) paper towel will help cool the plug without shorting anything. Also, avoid using your laptop on your lap (ironic?); use a lap desk or large book under the laptop to insulate the computer from your body heat and to keep the very small vent open. Finally, used compressed air to clean out the vent occassionally; HP added "insult to injury" when they designed a very small air port through tightly spaced cooling fins that easily clog with dust. With a system known to run hot already, the last thing they should have done was add such a small cooling system.
I purchased this product and it arrived in good time and worked for about 4 months. I emailed the vendor 3 times over a 3 week period to find out about any warranty and have heard nothing from them. The wires on the plug which goes into the computer were loose but I don't know whether the power supply is putting out the required voltage or the wires are bad.
Go somewhere else to buy what you need.
I just bought this adapter and within a couple of days the part that inserts into your computer broke off in my computer when moving my laptop. I also contacted the company to exchange it -mostly because I already threw away my receipt & original box- and have not heard a response whatsoever. I am going to probably buy another one from a more reliable vendor. I suggest you do the same.
This is my second replacement adapter on my HP dv6000 laptop. The first one had issues - short cord, 2 pin plug (no earthing pin) and broke within a year. This product surpassed the quality of my first replacement adapter and almost matched the quality of original adapter I received with the laptop.
What else would you want for this price!!! Almost original looking, rugged, long cord, 3 pin plug and does the same job as HPs.
Don't waste time and money on other brands/websites that are selling the same thing for $50+. Simply...go for it!
...
I had a similar experiece to others, the product failed after only 6 months of use. Now I need to buy another one. I will pay more this time and hope that get a quality product. The wiring connection failed as described by others
The quality of this product is horrible. I take care my laptop like a baby, especially the power adapter, having in mind what happend with the original, but even like that, the one I bouth is allready broken. Didn't last six months, Its not worth it. Get a better quality one.
This adaptor overheats and male socket portion got soldered to female socket portion of the laptop.
Also the insulation on the cord got feeled off within few weeks.
Really weird and unsafe product.
Really I dont recommend this product even as a spare one. - Hp Ac Adapter - Notebook Power Adapters - Ac Adapters - Ac Power Adapter'

This adapter cable does not work with Windows XP, Vista or 7. I have spent 8 hours trying to make it work, installing different drivers, etc.
I would like to return the adapter, but return shipping costs more than the adapter did. I have been cheated out of my money and 8 hours of time.
I am surprised that Amazon allows vendors to sell faulty merchandise. I guess the almighty dollar speaks louder than these reviews. It would be nice to be credited for our troubles. USB to RS232 DB9 Serial Cable + DB25 Pin Adapter / Port Adapter Converter for GPS, PDA, PC, Modem
Installing this device to Windows Vista caused the dreaded blue screen of death every time I plugged it into a USB port. The drivers loaded to the computer without any errors, but as soon I plugged in the cord and the USB manager "sensed" the device, it would trigger an IRQ conflict resulting in a stack dump.
I ended up tossing it in the trash.
I bought this to use with some of my hardware devices that have serial ports that allowed me to use a backdoor to access the firmware in the device (ex: Netgear WG302). Windows 7 recognized the device and, with the aid of the included CD, installed and recognized the device as a USB-Serial cable. That's about as far as I got. I usually use hyper terminal in Windows to access the device via serial ports. But, even though I programmed the drivers to use specific ports in case there were port conflicts, I couldn't get any results. My advice to anyone wanting a more high-tech way to perform a firmware upgrade to their devices: Keep hanging onto your old computers. I have a laptop that I do firmware upgrades with. That way, even though I won't use it for anything else, it's small enough not to be an inconvenience.
Too many people get caught up with adapters and the quality of them. An adapter, is an adapter, is an adapter. This unit is fully functional and works perfectly. It came neatly packaged and seems durable enough to last. Plus, you get two adapters. One that translates USB to serial and another adapter that translates serial into parallel. What more could you want?
I tried to use this with my X10 controller but finally had to give up after several hours of frustration. From what I've found on the web it does not output the proper voltage which would explain a lot. Note that I'm using this under Linux which does have proper driver support. - Connectors - Rs-232 - Usb To Serial Adapter - Serial Adapter'

Big Button Phone - corded telephone, caller id
The MUTE button is actually a HOLD feature. There is no true MUTE button on this phone. When on a conference call, putting the call on MUTE means you mute the microphone and you mute the audio. That defeats the purpose of a normal MUTE feature.
Other than that, the phone works. AT&T Corded Speakerphone (CL2939)
I purchased this phone a few days ago. I bought this model because I NEEDED a backlit LCD display (my phone sits in a dim location). The Amazon product photo currently on the website CLEARLY SHOWS A BACKLIT LCD, with dark caller ID text being highlighted by a brightly glowing greenish background. THIS PHOTO IS HIGHLY MISLEADING. This phone absolutely does NOT have a backlit LCD, and CANNOT create the bright glowing background as displayed in the product shot. Indeed, the photo on the Amazon website has had to be intentionally manipulated in a photo editing software to fabricate that greenish glowing light effect, which the phone itself cannot create. (And, yes, I did install 4 fresh batteries to fully test the phone's capabilities.)
As I require the backlighting, this product's other merits, whatever those might have been, are going untested as I am returning this item (at Amazon's expense due to website misinformation) immediately. However, as Amazon requires me to give the product a star rating to post this review, I very reluctantly will give it 2 stars, and that poor rating only because of what has to be the intentional misrepresentation of this product by either AT&T and/or Amazon.
UPDATE 11/23/10: I note with interest that, sometime during the last few weeks, Amazon has posted a new photo of this product. The previous photo was, as I and others had noted, altered to give the appearance of a brightly glowing background on the LCD area, an absolute fabrication. This new photo, while it looks to me to still be altered similarly to enhance the appearance of the LCD screen beyond its true capability, is at least not quite as misleading as the old one.
This model seems to have the most features and good construction for the price. For the display functions to work you will need 4 AA batteries (not rechargeable) BUT the basic phone works without them in case of battery failure or electrical failure. And of course corded phones are still way more secure than cordless phones. Most people don't know this but cordless phones (I'm not talking cell phones which also are NOT secure) are not secure at all. They can be hacked into with about a $50 gadget and being with in the range of the signal. This is a major way of stealing identity by listening in and recording banking info, etc. Corded phones on the other hand require a physical tapping device &/or a Court order. Be aware and protect yourself appropriately.
For the price this is a very good quality phone overall. The sound quality on the speakerphone is excellent. I can stand 6 feet and more and still have a conversation. I bought this phone to work from home and my cord less Uniden 6.0 would drop me all the time and get a "out of range" error. So I need a hard line phone for work that is reliable and this is a great value and I looked for some time.
** The only thing I wish they would change is WHEN YOU MUTE the listeners will hear a click sound which may be an issue when on a work call as another reviewer pointed out but most people don't notice the click. Its not perfect but than again you are not paying over $100 either. I would buy another of these units!
**** UPDATE AFTER USING FOR A FEW WEEKS: I am still very satisfied and keep a 5 star rating for the money its earns a 5 star. Some things to consider 1) As another review mentioned the mute button makes a click sound your callers may hear 2) no back lights on the display 3) does not have ability to notify if you have voice mail - no display message or blinking light other than the new call displayed but than again at night you cant see the display very well. With all this its a solid unit overall!
I needed to find a new phone for a relative with dementia and difficulty with sight. This looked like it would work out well, and it did! Easy to hook up, the buttons are huge and easy to see, and if the handset is dropped, it is attached by the cord so it can be easily retrieved. The only issue I have is with the lighting on the caller ID monitor--VERY difficult to see it even without a vision problem--it should be much brighter. But the phone is still worth every cent of the price, and I would not hesitate to buy another one for someone else. The volume is great and easy to adjust, and it doesn't take up a ton of space--fits nicely on a nightstand with room for a lamp beside it. Out of the 10+ phones I have tried, this one works the best for my situation.
Does everything it's supposed to- 5 display settings, multiple settings for speaker phone, hand set and ringer volume. Over-average sized buttons. Speakerphone is loud enough both ways. My only tiny complaint is that volume sliding bars are on the right side instead of the top. Great deal for $20. - Corded Telephone - Caller Id - Big Button Phone - Corded Phone'

Samsung Lcd - samsung 1080p lcd hdtv, samsung lcd
Beautiful looking set, great picture. BUT - steady buzz from back of set. Not very loud, but clearly shouldn't be there. When sitting in front of the TV with it turned on, you really can't notice. But if you turn volume down, or mute, it is clearly noticable. Called customer service - and she was clearly someone with barebones training. Most questions I asked her, she put me on hold and obviously checked with someone else. Anyway, bottom line is she came back to the phone and told me that 'that's normal; that's the way the set sounds'. I voiced my concern about this answer, but clearly was not going to get any further on this phonecall. Hung up. To be sure I wasn't being too picky, I had my wife and a brother come into den, where this TV is, and they both agreed that this was, in fact, NOT normal - at all! Called Samsung back, gave them history, and told the guy NOT to tell me this was 'normal'. He didn't. Instead he dispatched local repair shop. Several days later service guy arrived, and took set apart. He figured out which module was buzzing, and ordered one. Two weeks later he returned with an entire front panel of the TV. This includes new screen, frame, most of the guts (including buzzing component), less one board, and power supply. Samsung told him to order it that way, not just the "failing" component (?) Almost a new TV entirely! He put it all together, and guess what? The noise was still there, but now louder than ever! That was a few days ago, and here I sit with my now louder buzzing TV, that I can now hear, sitting in front of set with normal volume on. And Samsung says this is Normal !! Grrrrrrrrrr. The service guy now plans on ordering a new power supply, and replacing that. If that doesn't work, he thinks a new set entirely is in order! Except for 1 board where all the jack connectors are, the metal back panel, and the pedestal, isn't that what I already have?? ! To be continued.... Samsung LN37C550 37-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV (Black)
The picture quality is very nice, set up is intuitive, and the styling is attractive. The first TV had a loud buzzing sound emanating from the rear. Other reviewers have noted this and it was noticeable at normal listening levels. Some times it was loud as soon as the set was turned on and other times it became louder over time.
The second set hasn't had this problem yet. A low buzzing sound is still present, but you cannot hear it while watching TV. There appears to be an issue with a component on this model since my older Samsung doesn't exhibit this problem.
The price is right and the set is very nice, but you may have to exchange it due to the buzzing sound.
I took a chance on an open box offer from Amazon Warehouse Deals...wont do that again!
Pros: Great Price, Beautiful TV, Fantastic Picture, Easy return policy (Thumbs up Amazon!!!)
Cons: BZZZzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz...the noiZZZZe from the back of the TV was annoying! Back to the Amazon Warehouse buZZard!
Dont be afraid to buy a SAMSUNG TV! I have 3 now and they are gorgeous TVs. Purchased NEW, but different model for a bit more $ but I am still very happy with the purchase.

Word of Advice - make sure you have a good return policy in place if buying used, refurb or open items!
Right when you turn the set on, there's a loud buzzing sound which is noticeable from atleast 10 feet away. So I'd turn the volume up to around 20 and still noticeable (I have pretty good hearing). But the buzzing sound constantly comes and goes which is pretty annoying. Also if you switch the 'Energy Saving Mode' to anything besides off, the sound is constantly there. Overall, the tv has great picture and sound, but the buzzing sound ruins the tv experience.
grabbed 1 on sale this week to replace
a very very old unit in the home.
the entire viewing family is VERY pleased
with this unit.
1 - we don't have the high buzzing sound
from ours that one person mentioned as a
defective unit.
2 - the dark colored front panel controls
on the lower front bezel are a bit light
but we mostly use the remote controls so
that isn't a real issue.
unit fits our built in hardwood multi
media cabinetry perfectly 37" is the
right choice for our smaller viewing area.
i think the screen views well even from
extreme side seating locations.
things i might suggest to the factory;
1 - it seemed the set had minimal padding
inside when i opened the box. ours is, as
i said, in perfect shape, but if i was
the factory QC guy, i'd be putting more
protection in front of the screen. ours
used a 2 inch space for protection and the
box itself.
2 - i'd try to put small recessed handle
grabs in the rear frame in a larger design
element like this. lifting it is a two
person job per the manual but both people
found their grips slipping on the highly
polished (and good looking) set edges.
our entire extended family seems to have
settled on the Samsung line. that's
about 12 sets! really; we all love this
brand, have many different styles and
have had great experiences with the
performance and reliability of the Samsung
equipment. we did get an extended warranty
anyway on an investment like this one.
i haven't tried the connectivity to my
home network yet, but the menu seems well
designed and very logical. my wife is becoming
the family set it up expert.
i gave this 5 stars in the rating.
very pleased.
oh... i have a large surge suppressor
UPS box on the infeed from the electric
outlet. we have them on ALL our electronic
devices, PC, etc. power in our area is very
prone to spikes and storm related events.
i'd suggest this to anyone. - Samsung 1080p Lcd Hdtv - 1080p - Hdtv - Samsung Lcd'

Pen
I actually purchased this as a little, but thoughtful stocking stuffer for my husband. My daughter was constantly stealing the pens we leave around the house and I was equally guilty. My husband is studying for his MBA and working full time, so he's sometimes forgetful, always busy and often in need of a pen. I wanted him to have a pen that was only his, and obviously so, but I hesitated buying him a $75.00 pen just yet for various reasons. I also decided a pen with no cap to lose might not look as nice, but would suit his lifestyle. He likes modern styling and fine point pens so for whatever small amount I paid, this pen was perfect. I was prepared to pay more like $30.00 for a pen, but it wasn't necessary- this one does not disappoint! The only thing that was "too bad," was that it's not packaged to be a gift, so if you want to present it as one, you have to break the plastic bubble and get creative. The pen has nice heft, feels good in the hand, is cushioned with possibly silicone and is cool to the touch as only metal can be. Love it. Pilot G2 Limited Fine Point Black Gel Ink Pen, Retractable Gel Roller, Charcoal Metallic Barrel, 31154
I've had a number of high end pens over the years, including silver and gold Cross, and invariably lose them. That hurts with a $100.00 pen. This was bought to replace the last expensive pen given to me and I love it. It looks very nice, is comfortable in my large hand, and writes well. I've had it a year and the finish is still in great shape. I actually came here looking for refills and decided to share this review. Anyone looking for more than a disposable that doesn't want to spring for a $100.00 life style statement should take a look at these. Besides, anyone looking at it or handling it will never know you spent $12.00 on it. More than one person commenting on it has been surprised when I told them where I got it and how much I paid.
I've used nothing but Cross pens for decades but I love the flow of the Pilot G2 pens and now it's all I use. This model is an upgrade over the standard one that cost $2 each, and I like it a lot. Good feel, good look. I wish Cross accepted G2 refills though!
I bought this pen recently to replace the standard Pilot G2 pens that I have been carrying around for years. After a couple weeks of use it's hard for me to go back to the plastic G2 model. This pen is a good compromise if you're looking for a pen with a little more weight and quality behind it, but don't want to carry a pen around that costs $100 and up.
Just recently bought some Mont Blanc black ink refills to replace the G2 refills. Between the LTD and the Mont Blanc ink you have yourself a pen that could stand up well to writing instruments at 10 times the price. (NOTE however, the Mont Blanc ink refill needs to be slightly modified to fit in the G2 pen).
I want to add just a few additional things to the previous reviewers' comments, which I mostly agree with.
1. The barrel is not all metal; the bottom part of the pen that screws into the barrel (up to the point where the rubberized grip ends) is plastic.
2. The pen takes Zebra Sarasa refills without any modifications and will also take the 0.38mm G2 refills from the disposable plastic G2s that Amazon sells by the dozen. Overall, a nicer pen than the base G2s for just a few dollars more.
3. My version came with a three dollar rebate that was not advertised here.
4. The pen feels heavier than a regular G2 but in a good way. It has a nice balanced heft to it and physically feels a bit thinner than the regular plastic versions of the same pen.
It is a ten dollar pen that feels like a thirty dollar one.
Overall, I'd buy it again.
Form and functionality, two words that you'll hear with every luxury item from the automobile to the pen. I used to carry a Cross, right up until it ran out of ink. The refills are made in China. In terms of form, the Pilot G2 Limited is a standard Pilot G2+1. Compared to a platinum plated Mont Blanc, the feel of this pen is quite different. In the hospital setting, I'd hate to misplace a cap, let alone a pricey luxury pen. This pen has a metal barrel, point assembly, and clip. The clicker is plastic, that ring above the grip is plastic, and the retaining assembly is plastic. The grip feels more like thermoplastic rubber than silicone resin. Respective to a car, this is a luxury Toyota.
This pen uses the standard G2 gel ink refill. This means out of the plastic clam shell packaging it writes as a G2. The ink sometimes smudges, it rarely bleeds, but that's entirely dependent on the weight and grade of the paper. But I don't write for a living; I just sign some forms and fill out others. The best advice I was given for this pen is tucked in the reviews of the Mont Blanc Roller Ball refill. Buy one when the pen runs out of ink (or if you can't stand the ink just toss it) and with a quick modification it replaces the standard G2 refill. The difference between this pen and my Mont Blanc Starwalker is the body. For a few dollars more, this pen donates its body and becomes a pen with a price point that I'm not afraid to lose, but writes like one I wouldn't. Four stars for the good looking pen that needs a little help to write the way it should.
Mont blanc usa 15158 Medium Point Rollerball Refill, 2 per Pack, Black Ink
To start off, this is my absolute favorite pen. I always have it with me, to sign credit card receipts, jot down notes, write orders, write exams, whatever I need. I keep a Zebra Expandz with me a lot of the time too for customers to use, as i don't want their musty hands over my nice G2 limited. I have a couple cross pens, but I never use them, they are nice, but still pale in comparison to my G2, and I will most likely use them as christmas gifts this year. My uni ball signo premier 207 is my backup, resting in my book bag. The signo 207 is really nice too, but feels cheap, too light, it just doesn't stack up to the heft and class of the G2 limited. Its a beautiful pen, one of the longer pens I have had, and writes like a champ. It takes a number of refills, including uniball signo. I use a Zebra Sarasa in mine, very nice, dark ink, hasn't skipped once. If you are looking for an excellent pen in every aspect, the g2 limited will not disappoint.'

Replacement Battery - cordless, ryobi 12 volt battery charger
I was very disappointed with the Ryobi batteries that came with my portable drill. Whenever I really needed to use it I found the battery completly dead. It would take all day to recharge it and then it would only hold the charge for a few hours. The same happened with the other battery that came with the unit. It's too bad that a lousy battery ruined a nice Ryobi product. Ryobi 1311148 12V NiCd Battery Pack for HP1202M and SA120
I've tried for years to keep batteries and chargers working for the Ryobi drill, but to no avail.
Finally trashed the Ryobi and went with a Dewalt and "what a difference."
Sell or trash your Ryobi system and go with a real, trouble-free cordless drill.
This is a product that I will never purchase again. I firrst thought it was my charger and after purchasing the charger found out that it was the battery. After purchasing a new battery and conditioning it for 4 days thought all was good. Went to use the drill yesterday no power and as of now have it on a charger. The battery is not charging!!!!!!
I would NEVER buy another Ryobi product!!!!
Bought a Ryobi SA-120 drill with two batteries included in case. Both batteries failed to hold a charge after about 6 months of very light duty use. Charged the batteries overnight and they went dead after about 10 minutes of drilling. Went out, bought another Ryobi battery and sent previous two to the e-waste center. This new battery was properly charged up and removed from drill housing when not in use. These Ryobi batteries will actually drain on their own within a few days. Back to the charger for another eight hour charge. The battery is acceptable if you remove it it from the drill and keep it on the charger full time. This is ridiculous. I have a $10.00 no-name lithium ion drill/driver from Costco that never seems to run down on power. These Ni-cad battery tools are on the same path to extinction like the dinosaur. My next drill/driver will be a Makita DF330W with the keyless chuck. Ryobi's Ni-cad powered tools are a complete waste of time and money. Makita's Lithium-ion powered tools are the way to go. A little more expensive but worth it in the long run.
I have two tools that use this 12v battery which is the only reason I even considered buying another one after the first two batteries that came with the tools all failed to hold a charge. I might as well have flushed the money down the toilet...the 12V battery I just bought is no better than the other ones. It won't hold a charge for more than a day and then it goes south. Frankly I think I would be money ahead if I just threw the tools away (I thought about giving them away but why dump this junk on someone else?)
...this is a discontinued battery pack, so maybe they've been sitting on the shelf for several years?
My original battery pack is 5 years old, holds very little juice. So I bought this replacement pack on Amazon. The brand new pack (out of the box, charged overnight) performs barely better than my 5-year battery.
I let them charge for 10 hours (as instructed) before initial use. The first use I was doing some fairly light work installing a door frame. They were completely dead within 20 minutes.
Ironically, I have a 9 volt Makita cordless drill that went dead at the same time as my Ryobi. I decided to buy new batteries for the Ryobi (not the Makita) because it's 12 volt. But (get this).... the Makita was purchased in 1997! And it was remanufactured! So the Makita batteries lasted 13 years. I don't even know how to begin understanding the different quality in batteries.
I've read that you should zap/recharge NiCad - perhaps someone out there who has done this can share your experience. But I'm sorry I blew $25 in this battery pack - I should have put the money towards a new cordless drill.
There are no good chargers available for this battery...so you get stuck with a useless commodity. What good is it without being able to charge the battery? It makes it a decent paper weight....but useless in any tool you may have. - Ryobi 12 Volt Battery Charger - Ryobi 12 Volt - Poor Design - Cordless'
