Laptop Charger - laptop charger

Don't buy this product. Cord is very short compared to the one it is replacing.

Plugged it into the wall, got the light on the power pack, plugged it into my computer.....NOTHING. No power. I verified that I had purchased the correct model. I had. It didn't work.

Spring for the extra few dollars and buy from another manufacturer. I DO NOT recommend this product. Since it cost so little, I didn't bother returning it. I threw it away. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. NEW AC Adapter/Power Supply for Compaq Presario C700 M2599 V6400 X1100

The plug connection to the socket was faulty. After only 3 weeks of use, the plug only worked if tilted at a certain angle. After a month, I couldn't get any power to flow through the charger to the laptop.

Typical Chinese-made junk. I guess you get what you pay for. The product worked for about a week or two and then started smoking one day just before I heard a loud pop. I ran over to unplug it to prevent it from harming my family and computer and it was crazy hot to the touch. Junk.

Unfortunetly, I wasted my money buying this product. Not only did it arrive late, because they mistakingly shipped it somewhere else, but when it finally gets here, i have to paly around with adapter, because if i dont it loses its currect. Horrible serve, and horrible product!

Retail stores wanted $79.00 to replace my power cord. I ordered this one instead. It works great and fits my computer just like my original one did.

The only minor drawback is that this cord is much shorter than the original. However, for my purposes, this is actually helpful. :-)

I will probably order another one so that I can leave one at my office and one at home.

I got a power supply that I didn't order. I know it's wrong for me to keep it, so, I called your office to let you know and tell me whether you want me to keep it or send me a prepaid envelope but I got a fax tone instead. I guess I got my answer and I'll keep it. I don't know what I'm going to do with it, but my husband told me I will have to get a new computer that will need the same power supply you sent me. LOL! That solves my problem!

I have a computer that uses the same power supply and I tested it and it works fine. It came in a good packaging in the mail, as well...I thought I would just want to let the other customers know.

Thanks!

I purchased this one for a friend of mine. He was having always a lot of problem with the original for his original presario AC ADAPTER. It was too hot when working some hours and didn't charge as usual. This new model was another thing: it worked as intented to be. No problem since i purchased this for him. - Laptop Charger'

Ipod Accessory - aux cable, automotive

There weren't much reviews when I came across this item, but I decided to bite the bullet and now I'm glad I did buy it. I mainly bought it to connect my HDTV to my macbook so I can use VLC player, and so far it works like a charm! This is my second time buying from the Cables to Go brand and their stuff is not bad. This cable plugged snuggly to the back of my HDTV and to the headphone jack on my macbook. I didn't experience any looseness of the plug when connected to a jack as was mentioned in other 3.5mm stereo audio cable product reviews. Overall, if you need sound coming out of your TV from your computer, this is the cable to get. Cables To Go 40413 M/M Stereo Audio Cable (6 Feet, Black)

Cable was purchased to connect a HTC Hero cellphone headphone out to AV Receiver's portable in (Pandora in living room -- yea!) Here's the reason for only three stars:

Cable had different behavior depending on which end of cable was connected to AV receiver. Both ways were pretty bad, but in one configuration, the slightest movement of the phone caused a great deal of noise/humming (and tended to pause whatever song was playing in the app). Also, found that if Hero was being charged, it required a particular sequence to work (e.g. had to have AV receiver turned off when connecting the cord to receiver.) It's possible I misunderstood the suitability of this cord for my application.

However, I'm not returning this cable because an extender cord I already owned (3.5 mm male and 3.5 mm female connectors) fixed all problems. I plugged the older extender cord into the receiver, the Cables to Go cord into the extender and into the phone; this works very well. The old extender cord is noticeably thicker than the Cables to Go cord, and it has gold plated connectors -- don't know if either of these is the reason for the vast improvement when using it combined with Cables to Go cord, but it seems that as long as the Cables to Go cord doesn't get plugged into the receiver, things work much better.

As a test, I tried the Cables to Go cord (by itself) with an MP3 player -- it worked great directly between the receiver and the player.

I didn't take any points off for the following, but things to keep in mind:

The plastic ends are pretty thick, slicing off a bit of the plastic allowed using the cord when phone is in a Body Glove cover (I did this after solving the more serious problems noted above by using the extender.)

Six feet (without using an extender) was too short to be able to use the phone from my normal spot in living room (clearly not a problem with the product, of course. I just didn't think it through before ordering.)

I used this on my iphone and with other cables I would generally hear loud interference whenever my iphone went into edge mode ( I stream Pandora ) When my phone switches to Edge, I don't hear that annoying sound with this cable. I was actually surprised at the shielding of this.

5 Stars!

I've used these about 20 times to connect my notebook computer to some speakers. They worked just fine at first but now they are to the inevitable point of having to bend the cables a certain way in order to get the wires to connect internally. We've all been there, right?

Cables are most always cheaper when purchased on the Internet. Audio cables are no exception. This product works well for connecting my laptop audio to the tv audio, when I'm playing movies off off my computer. 6 feet seems to be long enough, as well.

Like the other bad review, this cable stopped working on the other earphone after 3months of use. I'ts not worth it if I have to buy a new cable every 3 months. Amazon.com was no help though. Downside buying online, it's hard to send stuff back.

I bought this about a month ago. All I use it for is to connect my ipod to my car stereo with the auxiliary input. It started out great, no problems with quality or anything. Over the last couple of weeks, however, the quality has dropped severely. I have a 20 minute drive to college a couple times a week, and each time I would need to adjust the cable every other minute or so. The problem is that the audio only plays out of one speaker until you adjust the connection point at the ipod. I have another cable that works great, so the problem lies in this cable. I'd suggest going with another cable if you can find one, but I may have just received a faulty cable. Either way, it was still worth the 5 bucks I paid for it, so I can't complain too much.

I bought a few of these so I could run connections between my TV and surround sound system, my phone with my car, and occasionally connect my mac to my TV, but all I got was static or otherwise a weak connection.

Bottom line, spend the extra $9.00 and buy the Belkin coiled model, it'll last longer and the sound quality is magnificent. Don't skimp out on these, especially when sound quality is of number one importance. - Ipod Accessory - Aux Cable - Audio - Automotive'

Christmas - keyboard sustain pedal, christmas

I tried to work with this pedal for several months, but found it very frustrating. It slips all over the place!! Why does Casio not put more effort into a pedal that comes with such a nice keyboard -Privia PX-100? I later purchased the M Gear elongated silver pedal, which is wonderful. Casio SP-3R Sustain Pedal for Casio Keyboards

I shopped around for a pedal for my daughters keyboard and this one fit the bill perfectly. She is just learning how to play so it works out great. It is a little blocky though, but for the price it works.

The price was great, the pedal works perfect, sounds fine with my keyboard. I like it a lot! Normally, I hate playing keyboards, give me a REAL piano any day, but I don't mind playing this keyboard now that I have a sustain pedal.

This pedal came with my PX-330. It works fine as far as sustaining the notes, but it's VERY light and slips all over the place. I'll soon be getting a more substantial pedal to replace it (The M-Audio maybe?). If you're shopping for a pedal, I'd spend the extra $5 and get a better pedal. - Keyboard Sustain Pedal - Sustain Pedal - Christmas'

Womens Health - womens health, menopause

I began using this cream when I starting having peri-menopausal symptoms. My menstrual cycle was all out of whack, I had terrible mood swings and some otherwise unaccountable weight gain. Within a few weeks of using the cream all the symptoms were gone and I was back to "normal." The customer service with Life-Flo is superb, too! I had a few questions, called the toll free number on the bottle and I was able to speak with a live person, who was very compassionate, understanding AND KNOWLEDGEABLE!

I highly recommend this product!Life-Flo Progesta-Care Plus Natural Progesterone Body Cream, Menopause Solutions, with Phytoestrogens , 4 oz (113 g)

I'm 45, and menopause comes early in our family. I relied on soy for a while to get my phytoestrogens, until I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism - two pharmacists and two doctors told me no more soy because it interferes with the thyroid hormone. Within weeks I was having almost nonstop hot flashes, and waking up in sweat-drenched sheets several times a night. This went on for six months. I started using this stuff 2x day for a week, and then 1x day after that. Within the first week my daily not flashes were gone, and at the end of the 2nd week, my night sweats were, too. As a bonus, my sex drive increased a bit. I'm usually a skeptic, but this stuff works for me.

Improvements so far...eyesight, skin and mood. Surgically menopausal, hysterectomy/bilateral oophorectomy since 1983. I was taking synthetic hormone replacement until age 55 when had a TIA had to stop taking it (Stroke side effect to premarin) I will continue to recommend this product, am on auto delivery..never want to be without it. My daughter(ACB)told me specifically about this product..she is THE researcher :-)

Evidentally this cream was not for me. I had gotten off my estrogen replacement pill and opted for the more natural cream. Evidentally, I do not need estrogen replacement. Shortly after using, I had the worst head-ache and anxiety. This was the worst I have felt in a long time. I di not reuse cream for a week just in case it was something other than the cream. I tried it again about a week later and got same results. I'm sure this cream is great if you need it, but it was not for me. Another negative was it did leak alot in package it was delivered in-big mess. To be fair, the cream did go on smooth.

Well, I got this item before I expected and that's nice. As to the product itself I've been using it for several weeks and I don't feel a thing....!! Maybe it's too soon... anyway let's give the product a little more time...and I'll give a new review then, because I know with hormones you gotta be patient. By the way how much time it's enough time? - Menopause - Womens Health'

Ebook Reader - kindle accessory, kindle 3 case

I've noticed that like myself customers have been concerned primarily with two things regarding the new lighted case from amazon. These are: 1)The weight and 2) The uneven lighting. My review will briefly discuss these two things.

1)The Weight - The lighted leather case is a nice weight, sturdy and comfortable to hold. In ounces it is about the weight of the kindle itself however don't let that concern you. With the case on it feels like a medium sized paperback, however it is far much more comfortable to hold. It's easy to hold the case open like a book (nice for couch and table type reading) or to fold the front back and close it with the bungee so that the bungee doesn't hang around (this is good for bedtime reading).Closing the front back with bungee keeps the case folded in position and you don't have to worry about it bothering you. BTW THIS CASE FOLDS BACK 100% - Very comfortable. In sum very comfortable to read with the case and very sturdy.

2) The uneven lighting - Amazon's pictures don't do this case justice. The light hits the ENTIRE screen. Yes if you look closely it's brighter in the top right corner then in the bottom left but Amazon's pics make it look the top is lighted while the bottom is dark. There is good light all over the screen. Trust me I'm fussy about these things - the lighting will not bother you, your entire screen will be lighted and it is extremely pleasant to read in the dark.

*Final Thoughts - Great case, good quality, works well, kindle feels very secure and protected (I would feel comfortable slipping this case into my backpack or suitcase and I think it would sustain some mild impact). Lastly hinges are a non-issue, casing of the kindle will not get damaged with normal or even slightly aggressive use. You could damage the kindle by trying to pull the back of the case but you'd have to really force it to cause any sort of damage to your kindle. The hinges work fine and should not be a concern to any case user.

Update 1st December 2010:

Have now been using the case for 3 months. Leather still looks impeccable. Some people expressed concern that the bungee cord might loosen with use. I have not experienced any loosening so far. Quality of the product has proven outstanding. I've occasionally spilled or messed the cover, just a wipe with a damp cloth has cleaned it up, and the case looks like new. Have to admit I enjoy the feel of the case in my hand, there's just something great about taking your kindle to a coffee shop in this case, it just looks and feels so classy. Also with regard to the hinges: I have had no scratches on my kindle or any other issues, so I remain convinced that the hinges are a non issue. Kindle Lighted Leather Cover, Apple Green (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle)

I was hesitant to buy this cover mostly due to the pictures in its listing, which seem to show a light that doesn't even extend to the opposite corner. The fact that I have not been impressed with the Amazon's Kindle covers in the past didn't help. I went ahead and purchased it because the cover I wanted isn't available yet and I don't like to take my Kindle out and about without a cover. Now I am glad that I went ahead and bought it.

PROS:

1. The light is much better than I thought it would be. Using it in a darkened room I found that the light did the job very well. In a pitch black room, it performs even better. While the screen corner opposite the light is a bit dimmer than other areas, there is no problem reading the page at all.

2. The light gets its power from the Kindle itself, through the gold-plated hinges which attach it to the cover, so batteries are a thing of the past. When your Kindle goes to sleep, the light will go out as well. It will also turn off when you slide it back into the case.

3. The cover is slim, well-fitted and very easy to attach and detach using the hinges. The inside has good padding. The leather outer surface has a nice pebbled texture with the exception of a smooth area along the edge of the front. While stiff enough to protect the reader, the cover is slight flexible and the front easily folds behind when reading so you can hold your Kindle with one hand if you like.

4. A great plus is that the cover has an elastic cord that fits into a groove on the front of it. This holds your cover closed (unlike the original Kindle 2 cover that would flop open in your purse & let things slide into it) and easily distinguishes the front from the back--important as many owners of the Kindle 2 cover accidentally opened it from the back, which could cause cracking along the Kindle's spine.

CONS:

I haven't found any, really. The light Is a bit hard (stiff) to pull out of the cover, but then you wouldn't want it to be flopping out when you don't want to use it so that is more of a Pro than a Con.

The one concern I do have is about pulling the light in and out--I wonder if whatever wiring or conductor that is used to get the power from the hinges to the light will eventually break. But that is something to find out down the road. Right now, the more I use this cover, the more I like it. - Kindle 3 Case - Kindle Accessory - Kindle Covers - Kindle 3 Covers'

Kitchen Storage - ice cube trays, ice cube tray

There isn't a lot one can say. It's basically a small tub.

It's large enough to crack an ice tray over without any spilling. It's a good material, doesn't get brittle when in the freezer. It's deep enough to keep at least half a dozen trays worth of ice inside. I'd buy it again. Rubbermaid White Ice Cube Bin

I am 74 and was having problems bying ice and having room in my frezzer for it. when I saw this I also found ice cube trays and I allready have a filter on my sink so I now have all the ice I need and it doesn't cost me anything. I wish I would have thought of this a long time ago

This ice bin is exactly what it looks like. Serves the purpose of holding ice. I love the size though. I can leave my ice maker on for 2 days, and it fills up pretty well. If you're in my situation, and you move into a place that doesn't have an ice bin, this is a perfect fill-in.

I have been using a make shift in-freezer ice bucket for years but it was short and wide, taking up a lot of room. I bought this Ice Cube Bin because it was tall and narrow. It is doing exactly what I bought it for. - Organization - Ice Cube Tray - Kitchen Storage - Ice Cube Trays'

Photography - printer, wireless

The wake-up problem people have mentioned is easy to fix! Here's how it's worked for me:

I am a big fan of this printer! The print quality is great for the price, it has a small footprint for an all-in-one, and in general, it's aesthetically pleasing so I don't mind to see it setting out in my office.

As I checked reviews before purchasing, one problem seemed to have upset some people. I think I found an easy fix. Sure, it's better if you didn't need to do this, but hopefully this helps someone who is having the problem--or reassures someone who is looking for the great value this printer offers price-wise. Anyway, here's what happens:

You go to print, but your computer thinks the printer is offline (either because it is sleeping, or because it thinks it's sleeping even though you've already gone to the machine and woken it up by rebooting it or hitting the cancel button). On your computer, open up the printer. You can double-click the icon in your tray that appears once you've sent a job to the printer. The top of the printer window contains the caption "Use Printer Offline." But you want the printer online. All you do is go under File and uncheck "Use printer offline." The printer wakes up and prints your document! Not ideal, but easy to fix without even getting up from your desk!

And don't even bother with the HP Guided Solution--it pretty much has you reboot everything...which still doesn't work sometimes. The way I found is much easier! :-) HP Photosmart C4580 All-in-One Printer

The HP Photosmart C4580 printer is wonderfully feature-packed for its price but I cannot over look it flaws.

Let me first start with the good...

This printer is currently the best bang for the buck. The big features are: wireless printing, a scanner/copier, and a built-in memory stick reader. If you own a laptop that you're constantly bringing around, the wireless printing is very nice... just one less thing you have to plug in. Its probably also good if you have multiple computers. I'm not sure if I'll ever use the scanner/copier but it can't hurt and it doesn't raise the price too much. Its also a relatively small printer (at least compared to my old one) and has a very easy to use screen to change options. You can also use after-market products to refill the printer cartridges yourself making them much cheaper.

However the printer has three major flaws...

My biggest headache with the printer was its setup. The installer crashed on me every time I tried installing drivers and I spent three very long hours on the phone getting it fixed. [Tech-note: I was using Internet Explorer 8 Beta which is incompatible with the HP printing software]. Unlike most other India-based tech support I've dealt with before, HP support had minimal automated phone submenus, the staff were knowlegeable, and I wasn't transferred too many times.

Secondly, if you use the wireless feature the printer will hang. This is a product defect and HP hasn't gotten around to fixing it. However there is a relatively simple work-around for this defect if you're tech-savvy. Search around the internet for "HP Photosmart C4580 Screen Turns Off" to find the fix.

Finally, I had major rebate issues. Amazon advertises a rebate for this product, but beware! The rebate is not for the printer itself. The rebate requires you to buy a laptop or PC along with the printer.

So despite the fancy features on this printer you should be very careful with it cause there are some flaws and it may not be the bargain it sounds.

UPDATE: HP has apparently fixed the printer hang problem. Go to HP's driver support page for more details.

I just purchased an HP C4580 All In One printer for my wife. As indicated

in one of the reviews, the installation software hung up the printer when I attempted to do a wireless scan. So, I restarted her computer (Windows XP) and clicked on the HP Solution Center icon, the Help Button, and finally the Update button. There were a number of updates to be downloaded. After their installation, every thing was, and is, fine. Although the printer is nothing fancy, it looks good on my wife's white table, has a small footprint, and is easy to use. Many years ago, I had a similar problem with an HP 1315 All In One printer, and found the updates at the HP help center. Therefore, I hope I remember in the future to always get any updates to new software before trying the hardware.

I received this printer about a week ago and had it set up in 10-minutes (including connecting to my wireless network). The printer has excellent quality and seems to work flawlessly. I don't have a single complaint, which is significant for a $100 printer! I HIGHLY recommend this printer for home use (especially with a wireless network) or even small office use.

this device is a total loser - 2 hours trying to install myself - Im not a total newbie - then 2 hours with tech support -turned out its the sleep problem. finally installed and next day didnt work - computer couldnt recognize/find it. do yourself a favor and avoid at all costs. even tech support at hp said this model has alot of problems. - All-in-one - Photosmart - Wireless - Printer'

Cell Phone Cover - lg, lg rumor 2

I like the color, feel, and the protection this product provides. However, it breaks too easily. Two of the plastic tabs that hold the top part on are already broken, and I have only had this case for a little less than two months. The case still stays on, but I'm thinking it may only be a couple more months before the other clips fall off and the upper part of the case no longer stays on. It seems that most cases for the Rumor/Cosmos are going to be this way, as the small gap between the two halves of the phone don't allow for thick fasteners on a case. Dark Blue Rubber Feel Snap-On Cover Hard Case Cell Phone Protector for LG Rumor2 LX265 / Cosmos VN250 [Beyond Cell Packaging]

I probably shouldn't write this until I've dropped my phone, but so far I absolutely love the cover. The color is a really nice royal blue and fits the phone like a glove. It's made from very durable material and I think it will be able to withstand a few drops. I would definitely suggest buying this over a 99 cent one. I bought one of those and not only was it made of cheap material it was way too small for my phone. An extra 7 bucks (which is still a steal), is definitely worth it.

True to its color on screen. Looks good. The only thing you need to know is it is painted and I assume they ran out of paint to do the inside of the case. The inside of the case basically is white with shadows of blue from the outside being spray painted.

When I first put it on my keyboard wouldn't slide out all the way because of the case so one of the plastic tabs had to not be attached to the phone for me to be able to use my phone. Now after owning this case about a week it won't even stay on anymore.

Pros

I dropped my phone with the case on once and the case didn't break.

Looks pretty nice

Cons

Horrible quality

Blue color comes off and leaves white behind.

No complaints against the seller. Product was delivered quickly and efficiently. The phone cover was total Shite! It lasted two days before it broke, but what can you expect when you pay less than a dollar for the item. The shipping cost more than the product. Bottom line, you get what you pay for. I wouldn't buy again, the plastic pieces that clip into your phone break off very easily.

This is a nice case with a nice feel. However, you get what you pay for. The first time I held my phone for more then 3 minutes my hand turned blue. The color continued to bleed onto my hand for over 2 weeks after that. Very disappointing.

It's a great deep blue and it fit my phone well (even though I mysteriously lost the original back of it...) but for several days it actually turned my ears blue! My friends thought I was sick with some sort of disease that causes blue ears, but later I realized it was just rubbing off my phone. I think it may have stopped after using it for awhile, but it was so cheap it's not worth sending it back.

My wife an I both got identical phones last week. In order to differentiate mine form hers, and to prevent us from grabbing the wrong phone, I decided to buy a cover. At such a low price point, my expectations were very low for this product. I would have been satidfied if it merely fit "ok". Well upon receipt of the item (which arrived quickly I should add), I was surprised to find that it fit 100% perfectly. Looks like a factory accessory. No features of the phone were hindered. My expectations were exceeded. - Cosmos - Lg Rumor 2 - Cell Phone Cover - Lg'

Belt Buckle With Hidden Knife - knife, belt buckle

I got this for my 12 year old son and it lasted almost a whole month. Despite the fact that the belt has "genuine leather" stamped on the it, it is definitely not. The belt separated into three layers. The outside looks like leather, but once separated I could see the weave of the fabric on the inner side. Same with the inner layer of the belt. The middle was almost like cardboard, and just crumbled off. Large Black Belt for Buckles

This is the worst belt I have ever had. Within 2 weeks when I only wore it twice, it ripped a seam from the hole i was wearing it at to 2 holes down. I would never but anything of this quality no matter how cheap.

And after a month of wear it looks it. The top layer of leather (like a sprayed on veneer) is already peeling off and the main material of the belt is delaminating at the stress points.

I bought this as a work belt and it is simply not up to the job

I purchased this belt because it was eligible for Amazon Prime. It is a pretty good belt, its only $7 so its definately not designer quality, but it looks nice, the leather is not stiff, and it is the appropriate size. If you're looking for something more in a belt, this one may not be for you.

What a bunch of bullcrap. I bought this thinking it would help me intimidate my enemies, seeing that I had a Black Belt and understanding what a bad*** I must be. I affixed my Duo Silver Guns and Star Lighter Belt Buckle (LT-018), put it on, and went to a rumble, fully expecting to be the man of the hour, flying through the air like a maniac and roundhouse-kicking my way to victory, ala Chuck (yes, Norris; it seems that chronically high expectations plague me).

Not exactly the way it went. I stood in front of the thirty-odd rumblers, fists planted on my hips, my Black Belt displayed prominently around my waist (I had tucked in my shirt so they could see it better). Every single one of those turds laughed at me and pointed like they had no idea that people have feelings.

Luckily, my training in mixed rumble-fighting allowed me to first whip the belt around in circles, striking several fighters in the temples with the high quality buckle. I then was able to choke out two of the contestants and escape down an alley unscathed. I'm giving the belt four stars because the snaps stayed fastened while I stunned my opponents with the buckle and the leather held up nicely during the stranglings. Even still, I don't think I'll ever forget the laughter I heard as I ran down that alley in shame.

About the only thing this product is good for is holding up your pants in a stylish, attractive fashion that will impress most passersby. If that's all you're looking for in a Black Belt, go ahead and buy one; personally, I was disappointed that it didn't include the expected karate skills, kindly wisdom, and inner peace. I think it was misleading of this guy Ivory Falcon (probably not even his real name) to advertise it as a Black Belt, and not a Belt That's Black.

It's just really bad. Bad leather, bad assembly. When I opened snaps to install buckle, both of them got broken, and I had to fix them manually.

Don't buy it. no jokes.

Another one - white - for same amount of money - is much better.

This is a decent belt for your money. If you already have a belt buckle and just need a cheap belt this is the one for you. works fine and doesn't peel like cheap fake leather does. this is a solid leather belt. - Belt Buckle - Knife - Belt Buckles - Superman'

don't know if this product will be around much longer since everyone is going to higher voltage batteries. WARNING! before to try to charge a battery on any charger, test the battery with a voltmeter/ampmeter. If the voltage is 25% below the stated voltage, you probably have a bad battery and SHOULD NOT try to recharge it because it could damage your charger. That is what happened to my old one. Charger works as you would expect and it's nice to be able to charge two batteries. Wish it had a safety on it or a warning that the battery was bad, but you'd have to spend a bit more for a charger with that feature.

This item was purchased as a replacement to one damaged in hurricane Ike last year. When the local Home Depot no longer carried the product I started searching the Internet. Amazon carried the unit through one of its affiliate stores, Blue Grass Battery, at a very good price. However, upon arrival I discovered I had ordered a 24v unit instead of the required 18v system (my error). Amazon quickly replaced the unit with no hassle. I simply returned the 24v unit and ordered the correct model and all is well. I even recevied a personal call from Blue Grass Battery's customer service department confirming my satisfaction with the product and transaction. I subsequently purchased two more items from Blue Grass, via Amazon and am 100% satisfied with all the transactions. Great job!

I received the item in a reasonable amount of time but it didn't work. I don't believe there is anything wrong with my two batteries. Even though it was advertised to be a new product, the way it was packaged leads me to believe it is not new. I have e-mailed the seller but he has not responded. I would advise future buyers to beware. Black & Decker 5106551-20 CHARGER,DUAL 24VOLT

I think it's essential to have one charging port for each of your batteries, you do not have to worry about running out of power, and certain tasks will drain your batteries much quicker than others, so you want to keep a steady supply of charged batteries on hand. Cordless is much safer than corded.

It has been 30 days since I ordered from this company. I haven't recieved any contact from the seller, the item I ordered, or the shipment confirmation. I tried contacting the seller two weeks ago, without hearing a thing back from them. Amazon should revoke this guy's account, and apparently I wasn't the first person to say that either. If you order from this guy you are going to get robbed, and then in thirty days you will be filling a claim with amazon to get your money back, which is what I just did.

After inquiring, I did find out that the charger had a 1 yr warranty, and that Black & Decker provided no other information for it, except to not leave the battery on the charger for longer than 3 hrs, even though the charger had posted on it that the charger had a "Maintenance Mode". Also, there was no information as to wheather the red light would change to green (or whatever) when the battery was fully charged (even though the cheaper B&D charger did). So, it leaves one guessing as to whats what with this charger.

I thought my original battery was toast, so I got a new one. Then the new one wasn't working well either. I noticed my single original charger would show that the battery was charging even when unplugged. I ordered this charger and Bingo, two great working batteries. - Charger - Cordless Drill - Firestorm - Battery Charger'

Smoothie Recipes - juicing, nutrition

I suppose that this book is for people who are already into whole foods. To people who aren't accustomed to such foods might read ingredients like Lecithin granules, Asorbic Acid, Sprilla and go "What the heck is that?" But, I'm weird, and I already have all that stuff. :)

It's also for people who have a good blender (obviously) and preferably a juicer, though store bought juices are fine. You just get more health benefits from fresh juices. And I'm glad the Author does understand that not everyone has a juicer.

That being said though, I've always enjoyed making healthful and delicious juices and smoothies. But the few other books I have, mainly the juice books, the recipes are a bit too fancy for me. Not to mention expensive. Great for entertaining guests I suppose, but just for me? Nah. Smoothies, for the most part I've just made up on my own. But realizing how many calories I was consuming with them woke me up a bit. I LOVE that this book has not only very yummy smoothies, but nutritional info for each one! I also love that they are all designed for specific health needs. Losing weight, Working out, Pregnancy, Boosting Immunity, etc. It also has a section for kids. What a wonderful way to get more healthy foods in my son's belly without his knowing it because they taste so damn awesome!

I love this book. And even though, as a few have complained, there are no pictures (I always look for cook books with beautiful photos) - this is the only Smoothie Book I need.

A side note about the cost of smoothies and juicing - I think this book saves you money. It has you making ice cubes from strong teas or fresh juices to add into future smoothies. So in my freezer, I have it stocked with labeled freezer bags of Beet Juice, Watermelon Carrot Juice, Coconut Milk. Today I planned on making up some Chai Tea Ice Cubes for the Chai Smoothie later. Juicing yourself in small amounts and freezing them really cuts down on the cost of produce. You use less, and your produce doesn't spoil before you get a chance to use it all.

Even still, if I see an apple looking a little sad. I just juice it instead of throwing it away.

Apples are also a good cheap filler for juicing. Any produce on the expensive side, I juice with apples to use less of the more expensive produce. The taste isn't changed much, and it adds fiber and other nutrients. The Ultimate Smoothie Book: 130 Delicious Recipes for Blender Drinks, Frozen Desserts, Shakes, and More!

Unless you are near a health food store, forget this book. for example some of the ingredients include tahini, stewed rhubarb, carob powder, gingerroot, pickled plums among others. The recipes aren't simple. The 500 smoothie book is far better and much simpler. I wasn't expecting to need a culinary degree to make smoothies. Was very disappointed in this book. The book I got was the older one with 101 recipes. Maybe this new one is better but again I would try something else if you want simple and fast.

In an effort to add more fruits and vegetables into our diet, I've been looking at smoothie recipes. My chiropractors really recommend them as an energizing breakfast, packed with nutrition. I think this can be true if the smoothie recipe focuses on healthy ingredients without added sweeteners.

The Ultimate Smoothie Book contains a lot of great information regarding the best ingredients to use in smoothies and what nutritional benefits each food adds. It is well-organized with informational sections before you actually get to the smoothie recipes. The smoothie recipes are also organized into categories which makes it easy to find the type of smoothie you are looking for. I love that each smoothie recipe also has a nutritional breakdown per serving.

I was a bit thrown off by the book beginning with a section on juicing. I wasn't looking for a book on juicing - I was looking for smoothies! Calbom puts a great emphasis on using fresh fruit and vegetable juices in her recipes, which would unfortunately necessitate another piece of kitchen equipment which I am not interested in purchasing at this time. Calbom also uses ice frequently in her smoothie recipes and claims that a regular blender will be able to handle this. Maybe some blenders can handle ice well enough to make a truly smooth smoothie but I know mine cannot.

The majority of the recipes included in The Ultimate Smoothie Book look really tasty. Unfortunately, I've decided that I'm going to need to wait until I have a better blender and warmer weather to actually try them out. Smoothies in the middle of winter just don't sound very appealing!

I bought this book based on the five star reviews. I was choosing between 500 Smoothie Recipes and the "Ultimate Smoothie Book". Now, the book has arrived, and I'm now sorry I bought it. Yes, the book has a few excellent pointers, but the quality and selection of the recipes were unsatisfying.

The positives of this book is that detailed nutritional and caloric information is included with each recipe. There is also a section that teaches you how to choose organic fruits and vegetables in season, juicing and selecting a proper juicer. You can also learn how to make almond milk to use in other basic recipes (this is a plus for people on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, where almonds are a necessity, and where store-bought almond milk is off limits due to added sugars). There is also a whole section dedicated to making coconut smoothies (including coconut oil/milk,etc; for health benefits), and coffee-break shakes, and smoothie pick-me-uppers. There are also shakes for weight loss, pregnancy, healing and body building.

I have many problems with this book. First, I agree with another reader who criticized the lack of pictures in the book. Yes, I do own excellent recipe books without pictures like "The Joy of Cooking" and "Nourishing Traditions". But, in a smoothie book -- where results can be (and often are) inconsistent (take green smoothies for example) -- you want to know what the end product will look like before spending your hard-earned money to make one.

Second, another concern, there are only five total Basic Smoothie recipes.

Third, some of the recipes in the book have NOTHING to do with smoothies. There is a section dedicated to...(drumroll) TOPPINGS. Oooookay. Some might argue that the toppings could be an excellent addition to top smoothies (like a sundae). Nope. The toppings are for things like breakfast granola and dinner entrees. Hunh? If I wanted a book on dessert and entree toppings, I would have bought a different recipe book. Complete waste.

Last, I was hoping for more recipes for yogurt smoothies included. Not many were. I know that's not something the author could have "foreseen" and I should have taken the time to look through the index, maybe, online, to see how many were included.

My advice is to look at this book (through the online "look inside me" feature on Amazon.com, check it out from a library, etc; before purchasing this book. I give this book two and a half stars....only because of the nutritional advice, but warily. - Healthy Eating - Cookbook - Juicing - Nutrition'
