1080p - 1080p, 120hz

Cons

Plugs are awkward (to make the screen stay thin when wall mounted)

Color changes slightly as you move around the screen. But perfect from near center.

Have not heard audio on the t.v. itself

No menu(to access settings) button on the remote control.

60 hz instead of 120hz

Only 1 component input

Pros

Lightweight

Great color and Brightness

No heat, uses only 90watts (Don't mind leaving it on all day as much)

Simple set-up

Digital over the air ready

Computer (VGA) input

Headphone output

The LED iSymphony 32" 1080p is a great television.

I was very skeptical since it had zero reviews on amazon.com, it's a brand I've never heard of. I went ahead a pulled the trigger and bought it. Special Thanks to amazon's great service and the free two day shipping for amazon prime members (also free for college students like me!).

FYI I am a somewhat audio/video nerd.

I'm writing this review after owning the T.V. for about two hours now. I hooked it straight up (HDMI) to my PS3. I tested Netflix, and am now watching Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby on Blu-ray. I'm very pleased with this T.V.

The size 32" is probably the smallest I would ever buy. I needed something that wouldn't break the bank, yet would fit nicely in a small college apartment/bedroom. There is no such thing as a T.V. that's too big for the room. Seriously, just get the biggest you can afford without sacrificing picture quality. Don't listen to the other video nerds telling you to get out the tape measure and map out the exact distances between your couch and the viewing audience. I'm testing this particular T.V. in a large room sitting right next to a 46" Samsung. The 32" iSymphony is dwarfed by the Samsung but that's ok since the iSymphony wasn't purchased for a large room. The thickness is a little larger than the thickness of an iPhone 4 around the edges, towards the center it gets somewhat thicker.

I have not used the speakers in the T.V. itself, so no comment on the audio as of now. If you are worried about the audio on a television set, you probably don't know what you are doing. Most modern T.V.'s are specifically built for optimum picture. Audio can be easily solved elsewhere using receivers and a simple surround sound. So forget about the audio.

4/5 stars all day. Forget about name brands, for the price of most Samsungs and Sonys you can buy two of these.

p.s. Don't buy monster cables. iSymphony LED32IF50 32-Inch 1080p LED HDTV, Black

(This is a review for iSymphony LED32IF50 32-Inch 1080p LED HDTV, Black written after using the display for one week.)

Overview:

If you're looking for a large HDTV at an unbeatable price, this is actually a great buy. It's incredibly thin and lightweight, it has a respectable array of inputs, and it has a vibrant display that looks great for gaming or watching Blu-rays. If you're looking for a capable computer monitor or monitor/HDTV hybrid, look somewhere else. And if you're looking for a high quality product that will last you many years, the price of this may be a little too good to be true.

Positives:

Unbeatable price

Thin and lightweight

Great picture

Lots of inputs

You literally can't beat this price for a 32-inch HDTV. And if you want to use this purely as an HDTV (for gaming, television, Blu-ray), it's a great buy. Since it's LED-backlit, the screen is incredibly thin and lightweight. If you were to mount it on your wall, it would look nice and flat. Additionally, the LED backlight provides high brightness, vibrant colors, and good contrast. I've connected my PlayStation 3 via HDMI, and the games and Blu-rays look fantastic. The 5 millisecond response time is fast enough to avoid any detectable ghosting. It has a coaxial cable for cable television or antena input. It has two HDMI ports, one component input, one composite input (great for playing old videogame systems), and one VGA input. The lack of a DVI input is easy to overlook given that there are two HDMI inputs. It also has a USB port for playing MP3s and displaying photos (although it does a poor job of it). It has built-in speakers which sound about as good as any built-in TV speakers (so not great), but it has an audio-out jack which can be plugged into a nice stereo, and an PC audio input jack. For the price of this TV, it really looks fantastic, and it's well worth the money if you're looking to buy a 32-inch display.

Negatives:

Unknown brand

Loud audio clicks during power on/off

Poor picture display from USB port

Virtually unusable as a PC monitor

First of all, this brand is absolutely unknown. When you get a product hundreds of dollars cheaper than its competitors by an unknown company, you can't expect great quality. I've had this TV for a little over a week now, and it seems to be doing fine so far. However, I don't expect something like this to last as long as a name brand competitor. I doubt the quality will hold up over time. I would advise anyone interested in this TV to consider buying a warranty. (Although, at that point it may be worth investing another $50-$100 for a higher quality TV from a brand like Samsung, Sony, or LG, all of which will come with warranties.)

I have this display connected to a set of speakers through a stereo. When I turn the TV on or off, it sends a signal to the stereo that causes a VERY loud click/pop noise. I've never had this problem with any other display running through the same stereo. This doesn't occur through the TV's built-in speakers. It is a nuisance, but not the worst thing in the world.

The addition of a USB port to display pictures and play MP3s is a nice idea, but it isn't executed well. The navigation is ugly and clunky. It plays MP3s just fine, but it is not a pretty interface. On the other hand, it does NOT display images well. Unlike its perfectly fine capabilities with gaming and movies, images from a USB drive lose their sharpness and vibrance, appearing grainy and dull. That is much the same way this display handles PC input, which leads me to the next point.

(If you never intend to hook your computer up to this display, feel free to ignore this paragraph.) This TV absolutely should NOT be used as a computer monitor. I bought this TV after searching for an upgrade to a 24-inch Samsung monitor/HDTV. My budget was $200-$300, and I was looking for a 27" 1080p screen. When I found this, I decided to take advantage of a great buy. Like I said, I've been very pleased with the performance for games and movies so far. Unfortunately, it is unusable as a computer monitor. Any monitor this size or larger will understandably look a little pixelated when sitting up close, but that's not the issue that makes this one so bad. I connected my computer (in my case, a MacBook, though I doubt the situation would be much different on a Windows PC) via HDMI, and the color immediately became fixed and unable to be edited (through the TV menu). That's a big deal; the color appeared drab and washed-out. The only choices available to me were contrast and brightness. Color, tint, and sharpness were grayed out in the menu. This never happens while the PlayStation 3 is connected. Not only was the color abysmal, but fine lines became blurred at certain points in the screen. When I moved a window, weird pixelation occurred that made any fine lines appear to wiggle. It was as though the display were set to the wrong resolution. Needless to say, it was at the CORRECT resolution (1080p, 60hz); it is simply a very low-quality computer monitor. Of course, it was never meant to be a monitor in the first place. It is a very capable HDTV; no more, no less. - 120hz - 1080p'

Hitachi Brad Nailer

This is one of the best tools I have ever had. Operates flawlessly every time. I use Bostich nails/brads because they are easier to find (all sizes up to 2") and the nailer works perfectly. The "height" adjustment is easy. The "jam release" mechanism is great - but the tool has never jammed. Excellent Product! James Willard Hitachi NT50AE2 18-Gauge 5/8-Inch to 2-Inch Brad Nailer

This is by far the best brad nailer I have ever used in my 20 years as a trim carpenter. It is very light weight ,powerfull, and looks great too! Hitachi has always been a pro-quality grade tool and this brad nailer is a great addition to there collection of pro-quality tools.

The one thing that swayed me to this model was definitely a key advantage. With this nailer, the safety slide peg is mounted behind the nail channel, which means you can get nails into tighter spots with this model than you can with others. The Bostich and others have the slide out in front of the nail channel which means the brad comes out about a quarter inch back from the forward-most part of the tool tip. With this Hitachi the brad comes out at the very front, which is very nice when putting nails in tight corners.

This tool is so handy and does such a nice job, I wonder what would ever make me buy a finish nailer. I'm pretty sure this brad nailer would do those jobs for me too.

Three minor disadvantages drop this to a 4-star rating (reallly 4.5), but it's not because I think there's a better one out there, it's just that there's room for improvement.

1. It's not oil-free. Not a big deal but it would be nicer to not have to bother with oil.

2. The lightest (shallowest) nail depth setting is still a little too powerful. With short brads in soft material many were penetrating too deep. It would be nice to be able to go a little shallower by a step or two.

3. The case is compact and handy, but there's no extra space in there to put nails or oil. Luckily they molded a spot for safety glasses (included) which I have emptied out to store my oil and a few brads there instead. I always have safety glasses with me anyway so that space is better used for nailer-specific items. There is extra volume inside there but its molded over in plastic so you can't use it. Again, nobody else seems to do a better job of this, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be improved.

In summary, a great tool. I can't believe I lived so long without it. A brad nailer makes many jobs much easier, allowing me to do things I couldn't do before with just two hands.

The price was more than right. This is an excellent deal. I used Milwaukee brads for it, and no jams so far. It would be nice if it had a better tip on it though. Comparing price and value with other brands, I would buy this one again. Up until 6 months ago I never knew Hitachi made good tools. Hitachi is my preferred brand for pneumatic right now. The only guns I probably wouldnt buy are their framing nailers, only because the PC is so much cheaper and does the job so well. Buy this gun, you can't go wrong. Along with the tip, the thing that really puzzles me is, I can go buy a $20 no name gun kit, and IT INCLUDES OIL IN THE CASE! (not to mention a couple thousand nails) Here I buy a Hitachi, and not a drop. How about including a small bottle of oil guys? The fifty cents it would cost the company would be well worth it to build greater brand loyalty.

I got this brad nailer as a back up to my Stanley Bostitch nailer and it feels more balanced than my Bostitch.

As others have mentioned, the the gun ships in a case without oil! I don't really mind it at all because I have lots of oil lyring around. But for those who are just starting out with pneumatic nailer, you should get some oil before you start firing nails with it.

I like that fact that it has the sequential trip and the bump fire built into the gun at the flip of the switch, a feature that my Bostitch does not have. It sinks nails well and countersinks it to the right depth once adjusted properly. I use combination of Porter Cable as well as Bostitch brand brads and not had a jam or misfire yet. I have test fired it very rapidly (3-4 brads per second) in sequential fire and bump fire mode and also not jammed.

I would have given it 5 stars if not for 2 small things which I found can be improved. The depth of drive adjustment wheel is easier to turn. It's located between the magazine and the nose. Not the easiest to turn if your fingers are not dexterous. My Bostitch had the adjustment wheel located in front of the nose. Secondly, the exhaust swivels 360 with some detents. But I think the exhaust can be improved because it 's only a cheap piece of plastic held in place by a ring groove. Not very easy to adjust the exhaust unlike the bostitch which has the exhaust adjustment incoporated into the top cap.

But overall, it's a well built gun and will buy it again and will recomend to friends if the sale comes around once again. Much better than some POS that is made in cheap china factory with no QC.

I had used a Bostich brad nailer of the same configuration and I found the Hitachi to have a better feel to it; it is lighter and packs a nice punch. There is one feature the Bostich has that I wish the Hitachi had and that is the oiling; the Bostich does not require oiling while the Hitachi does; no big deal, it is just not convenient and easy to feorget.

Pro: Excellent feel and worked flawlessly during two weeks of remodeling. Great on baseboards, moldings, cabinets, etc.. This is the perfect nailer for working around the house. Got this from Amazon for less than $60 with no tax and free shipping. $90 + tax at Lowe's.

Con: The no-mar tip could be better because it made very small dents. No oil included. A bit loud.

Still 5 stars because it's a wonderful tool compared to other nailers I used before.'

Chain Saws

We had a late spring, very wet snow that took down many trees and branches. This light-weight chain saw is exactly what I wanted for trimming and clean-up. Easy to use and very powerful for such a small chain saw. I just cut down a 5-6" thickness tree with no problem. I love not being tethered to a cord. The battery lasts as long as I do so it's a good match. ;-) Black & Decker LCS120 20-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Chain Saw

This is the single best purchase ever! This chainsaw works GREAT!

It's very light weight, and cuts easily. I had a 14" gas chainsaw and this works just as good. It's so easy to use even my wife was able to cut a large woody shrub stump below grade by herself. I had a tree break in half during a storm, it took two days to completely clear it from the yard. It would have been done in a few hours, but I only had one battery. The battery lasts about 20-30 minutes with normal timber to cut. I HIGHLY recommend this for anyone looking a chainsaw. However, buy an additional battery, you will be glad you did because once you get going with this, you won't want to stop. My acre is backed by woods and over the years they have crept onto the property. I've had this saw for about a month and have run out of things to cut with it.

Great product as well as a great system from Black & Decker. They have multi tools available for the 20v line. The chain saw works great for small jobs. Battery life is great. The best part, if you have more tools from the 20v family, you will have several extra batteries and chargers.

With a yard full of suckering wild plums and chokecherries needing yearly thinning, this little saw takes over when the pruning is beyond lopper capacity. I, Miss Old Lady Absolutely Totally Non Mechanical, cut down a peach tree that didn't overwinter, sliced off the little branches, and sawed it into pickup-bed-size lengths in about half an hour. Ta daaah!

Saved $$ over having a service come in, not to mention, no worries about big boots trampling the perennials. (OK, I trampled some, but hey.)

The how-to-put-it-together instructions were a little challenging to follow, because I never do that sort of thing; but everything went together well.

It is almost impossible to do it wrong.

Since I hate gasoline engines, cannot make them work, I also use the B&D cordless lawnmower - love it! and the cordless weed trimmer. Just plug 'em in, and you are good to go.

I bought this chainsaw in order to trim trees in my front and back yards. The lifespan of the battery usually lasts around 20 to 30 minutes. It is extremely difficult to finish any sort of pruning job in that amount of time. The actual power of the chainsaw is awesome, but I have been very disappointed with the length of time that I can use it.

This is a great little saw. Just don't expect it to do a gas saw's job. It'll cut three inch branches but let the saw do the work and don't force it. After the first charge it will recharge in about an hour. It's designed for trim work and not for cutting firewood. With the lithium-ion battery you'll have power to the last cut before needing a recharge. Knowing it's limitations, I'd buy one if I didn't have one.

This chain saw is very easy to use. The only detrement or negative factor is that it does not stay charged for very long.

It does small jobs very well.

I would recommend this chain saw for small jobs.'

Protection - office, shipping

I do a lot of shipping for personal and business sales, so of course I use bubble wrap as if the world was running out. Almost every office supply store has gotten in on offering their own bubble wrap. I first started with buying the generic store brand and yes, it did do its job, but I just wasn't 100% happy. I felt as if it was going to fall apart or make the package's contents look unprofessional. I tried Scotch bubble wrap, but they charge too much for even a small roll.

Before buying bubble wrap, you first have to figure out what type you want to use:

1) Big bubbles: This wrap has the BIG bubbles and is best used as a cushion around large items that you

wrap with smaller bubble bubble wrap.

2) Small bubbles: This is the small bubble type. Great for everyday use, and there really isn't anyway that you mess up using it.

3) Stick to itself: This type is great as it seems to be stronger, but can be aggravating as it sticks to itself. This can cause waste as your frustration grows and you throw it out and start over with a new piece. When you have learned to use this type, you will see that it is very useful when you want to wrap something fragile tightly, and more secure.

The Duck brand bubble wrap is my favorite brand to use. It is consistently lower is price whenever you can find it, and the price vs. length of roll is a better choice than store brand or even the Scotch brand.

Not only does The Duck brand make great bubble wrap, their packaging tape is impressive. The tape is also always cheaper than the other brands.

Overall, I recommend this product for: great quality, does the job and does it well, better price and longer lengths for the price. In case you are interested, I only recommend items that I would recommend to my Grandmother. If I don't think she would use it, then I don't buy it! Duck Brand Bubble Wrap Protective Packaging, 12-Inch Wide Roll, 30-Feet x 0.18 Inches, Clear (10230)

I would have never believed that I would someday order bubble wrap to be delivered to my door but with amazon prime shipping, I did and it saved me a short trip out.

The Duck Brand bubble wrap is a good quality product which protected a pair of expensive plates shipped (and arrived safely) overseas.

I bought this to bring back olive oil and wine from Italy in my check luggage. I used it for all the fragile items and tucked them in between my clothes in my checked bag. Everything made it back safely and unharmed.

Definitely a great product! I highly recommend it.

The product is what you would expect. I overestimated how much 30 feet gets you, so order more. I'm using the bubble wrap to protect my photo frames for our move. The sheets are perforated, but it doesn't rip apart too easily so it's good. The bubbles could be a little more dense I feel, but it seems pretty average. - Package - Office - Shipping - Protection'

Cloth Diapers - swim diaper, cloth diapers

We have a few of these in different sizes and styles, and we also have a couple other non-disposable swim diapers. These ones are definitely better - fit is nice and snug all around, whereas the other ones don't stay snug at the waist and can slip down. Swim diapers are NOT made to hold pee, which did surprise me the first time I used one (actually the other kind we have), but I learned that is the way they are designed. So since then I just don't switch my kids into them until they're ready to get into the water. Any pee is taken care of by the chlorine in the pool; the diaper's job is to contain any poop, which would be a huge issue if allowed into the pool water. Between my 3 kids, they've pooped in them maybe 3 times (thanks to my policy of only using them when needed), but each time they performed exactly as needed and were easy to take care of - and we are not cloth-diapering people here, so these are the only non-disposable diaper products we've used. When I realized we didn't have a swim diaper in my youngest's size, I of course purchased another one of the Finis diapers. FINIS Girl's Swim Diapers (Pink Bubble, Large)

Firstly I just want to mention that my daughters swim class only allows re-useable swim diapers as they are more sanitary. Swim diapers are not meant to absorb anything just contain poo until you can get out of the pool to dispose of it properly. Urine is sterile and not harmful to other people (kind of a gross thought but true) makes me appreciate chlorine a little more.

Anyways I have tried a few re-useable swim diapers and this is my favorite one. The sizing seems to be a little on the big side based on weight so when in doubt go a size smaller. The good thing is they will grow into the next size up if you do buy the wrong size. I like these because they seem to be comfortable and if I am running late for swim class they are stylish enough to pass as cute swim bottoms. I really like the feel of the fabric. They feel more like a swimming suit than a plastic hazmat suit. This last point may not seem like a big deal but my daughter's swim class requires all kids 4 and under to wear a swim diaper regardless of potty training. So for it not to look or feel like a diaper to a potty trained kid is a big deal.

As for its contain-ability I only once had it tested and I noticed right a way and we were out of the pool as quick as we could be. So it was not much of a test.

As silly as this may sound if you think your kiddo may have pooed while in the pool make sure to lift the kid out of the water before you check their diaper for treasures regardless of whether or not you use re-useable or disposable swim diapers. This is the most common reason for actual pool contamination.

I can't believe I didn't discover these until my 2nd child was already one & a 1/2. We bought this for my daughter before we took a beach vacation - it was perfect, and we used it all week. It held in what it needed to when it was necessary. I loved it as an alternative to packing all the disposable diapers, and we will use it all summer and not buy those disposables ever again. I did buy a size up and thought that was the right call. I think this is a great alternative to those yucky other diapers.

Our community pool requires actual swim diapers for hygienic reasons. This diaper was serviceable for holding bowel movements (It is not suppose to hold urine), but it was a little snug for her 2T size (She's average 50th percentile in height & weight) & I suggest getting one size larger. I had researched many different brands and this one was recommended by a friend of mine who has 2 children and uses cloth diapers on the daily basis. The fabric does not fill up with water and weigh the children down when swimming, like the disposable swim diapers. My pediatrician also recommended against disposable swim diapers for safety reasons.

This works great. I'm glad I read that this isn't supposed to stop pee so I didn't mind it when she went and it went through the diaper. I just waited to change he into her swimsuit until we were at the pool. It was perfect!

small: 3-6 months 9-15 lbs

medium: 6-12 months 15-22 pounds

large: 12-18 months 22-28 pounds

x-large: 18-24 months 28-33 pounds

xx-large: 24-30 months 33-38 pounds

3T: 36 months 34-41 pounds

4T: 48 months 38-45 pounds

I bought the 3T on others recommendations to buy a size up. Daughter is 30 months/30 pounds and it seems a bit big (it EASILY fits over a regular diaper), at least she can grow into it!

These swim diapers are definitely worth the money. They work great, and are so much more environmentally friendly and easy on the wallet than disposables. They have paid for themselves over and over. They are very durable and cute.

Dont like it much

If you buy it, make sure you get one or two size UP then what you THINK will fit your kid.

the less expensive just plastic underwear worked better for us, which i put over regular swim diaper.

got these, put on once to see how it fit. and then never tried it again.

for me it was a waste of money - Finis - Cloth Diapers - Swim Diaper - Pool Diaper'

Great American Popcorn - great american popcorn, popcorn machine

As a lover of popcorn, over the course of my half century on this planet, I've pretty much run the gamut on the variety of ways to eat this delight -- over the stove, the air popper and then by nuking it. All were fads that faded over time. Then, through the greatness of Amazon, I found the Whirley popper, and ordered their popcorn to go along with it. It was great, albeit a bit expensive. Then I discovered Great Northern's Great American popcorn.

Not only was the Great American popcorn cheaper in price, but by comparison, the six-ounce package I ordered was larger than the similarly-packaged Whirley Pop at 5.5 ounces. The taste was probably about the same, although psychologically it tasted better to me because of the better value.

I probably went a little overboard, but thanks to the special 99-cent shipping at the time, I purchased three 24-count cases.

Each of these packages produces a whole lotta popcorn, which if not eaten right away, is still really good a week to 10 days later.

Just a great value for middle aged people who could use a little great-tasting ruffage in their systems!

Gotta go; feel another batch coming on!!! Great Northern Popcorn, 6-Ounce Portion Packs (Pack of 24)

I purchased this for my paramount 6 oz popcorn maker figuring it would be easy and quick and no mess, which it was. However, only about half of the kernals popped so thats why I gave it a lower review. The flavor was on the mark for movie theater taste. Perfect salt and butter flavor in my opinion! I just wish more kernals popped!

We have a floor standing popcorn machine and tried a few different products before getting this one. We stopped looking when we got this! It's the bomb! We love it and buy it by the case. It's the real deal, and I highly recommend it. We top it with 'popping and topping' for more butter flavor, but many of our guests like it just as is. Just a heads up, the 'oil' portion is somewhat solid when it comes, not watery.

I received a popcorn machine for my birthday and I have not been able to find the right combination to make popcorn that tastes like you get at the movies. The local convienence store always has great popcorn and I happened to notice they use this. I just went through a case in less than a month! It is good stuff! The 8 oz size is a bit much for my family of four, so I will go with the 6 oz this time. I ordered two cases this time!

I ordered this to use with my Whirley Pop and I absolutely love it.

This pouch has a bit more stuff in it than the standard single serve pouch from Wabash Farms (8oz vs 5.5oz) so I expected some unpopped kernels and indeed ended up with a few dozen.

I have only popped one pouch so far so I plan to leave it on a few more seconds next time around, but even with the remaining kernels, the Whirley Pop was totally stuffed with popcorn.

The popcorn is delicious and tastes exactly like super fresh movie theater popcorn. The salt in the pouch gave the popcorn the perfect amount of saltiness for my tastes, but it may be a bit salty for some.

I'll probably stick with the 6oz version even when I reorder, as it's only a $2 difference (as of 08/13/09).

I purchased a case of this popcorn for two reasons: the rave reviews of others on Amazon and it was a lower-priced alternative to Wabash Valley Farms Real Theater Popcorn.

This is what I found:

- In my opinion, Great Northern Popcorn is not as tasty as Real Theater Popcorn.

- While Great Northern has a 6-ounce portion compared to Wabash Valley Farms 5.5 ounce portion it exceeded the capacity on both my Whirley Pop and Stir Crazy poppers. (Literally lifted the top off of my Stir Crazy.) So more is not necessarily better especially when you have to clean up a mess after every popping.

- Quite bit more of the Great Northern Popcorn remained unpopped.

- Great Northern Popcorn had a "chewy" texture to it. - Great American Popcorn - Nom - Popcorn Maker - Popcorn Machine'
