Night Camera - wildlife camera, photography

I own a couple of these little cameras and I plan to buy more.

pros: Small, great day and night pictures, easy to set up, they work out of the box, nice price.

Cons: No burst mode (one picture per trigger),not the best trigger time in the market, battery life is ok but could be better(last from 1000-1200 pictures or a couple of months).

I have owned alot different cameras and this one is the best I have used.

All around its a great camera for the money. Wildgame Innovations 6.0 Mega Pixel Digital Game Scouting Camera With Infrared Flash and Realtree Camo

I got this camera for use in our outbuildings to see what was getting into the junk we had stored out there. It worked excellently. The IR night pictures are clear and sharp, and easy to download. I found I could take my netbook out and download the pictures through the port in the bottom without disturbing the camera.

The product does exactly what it says it would

This is my first trail cam so I have nothing to campare it to but......It seems to be a little slow on the trigger at times. I get quite a few pictures with nothing in them but the grass and trees. I tried the video mode and that is amazing. Uses a little more battery than stills but that is to be expected. Overall I am happy with the purcahse.

NOTE: This cameras provided software works only on Microsoft Windows Platforms. Software is not compatible with Linix or Macintosh operating systems. Image files created on SD media cards in JPEG format can be read by most any computer / card reader.

The camera comes in a non-resealable, clear, blister pack container ( making hard to return if necessary) that's kinda tough to open. You have to cut your way in with a knife. Be careful not to cut the USB cable, bungies or to scratch the CD.

At first glance this camera was smaller than I expected. I was surprised, but pleased with its' compact size. It's about the size of a box of baking soda. The camera is painted in a matte surface, greenish, nature camo scheme, making it unobtrusive in the wild. It feels very solid when handling. A CD with computer "drivers", 2 small bungies and a USB connector cable is included in the package along with a printed basic instruction manual. Warranty states 1 year coverage. You must register the camera with a postcard.

The unit hinges on the left side with a full length hinge and snaps closed with a large, single plastic snap type clip. This clip is somewhat un-handy when the unit is mounted on a tree. In order to release it, the camera must be lifted up some to get at it.

The camera body is sealed around the outer edges by a rather small (thin) O ring seal that looks barely up to the task. A bit of Vaseline or ArmorAll on it might be a good idea.

Upon opening, the left side holds the camera mechanism and LCD controls. The right side is the battery chamber for the required 8 - AA type batteries. I used Duracells in mine. Putting in the batteries is a no-brainer. There is a short, rather delicate looking wire at the top connecting the battery power to the camera. I could see that breaking off pretty easily... be careful.

The camera controls are displayed in a smallish LCD screen about 2 1/4" x 2 1/2 inches. The various controls are displayed in extremely TINY characters. If you have problems seeing tiny type or small images you may have a problem here. Break out the reading glasses! There is NO image review function.

The controls are straight forward. It's pretty simple to program the various functions. RTM

One thing I don't like about this camera is the 30 second minimum delay between still images. I suppose this was programmed to prevent duplicate photos from being taken and to save memory card space, but I would rather that there were more options and the user was left to select the delay desired.

My preference would be to have a 5 or 10 second delay available. Thirty seconds delay may be fine on a feed plot, feeder or an area with a controlled lure or bait, but on a trail it is too long. An animal or person or whatever can move an awfully long distance in 30 seconds. Just try walking for a full 30 seconds ... see how far you get.

The sensor seems very good at picking up movement or IR signatures. Even small animals like birds or squirrels will trip the camera. It's the long delay between exposures that prevents the camera from achieving its' potential. Yes, a shorter delay may result in many more "junk" or duplicate photos, but it could also result in many more "good" photos too. To have success with this camera you must point it in line with the anticipated line of travel to allow the trigger and 30 second delay time to shoot more than one image. If placed where game pass mostly across the lens you will get very few good photos. Probably heads & butts.

A part of all this is the capacity of the card you use and how often you check your cam. My card holds 2500 images and I check the cam weekly. I alternate memory cards with each visit and really don't care how many images I throw away. I only care about how many good ones I get! I'll gladly delete 80 marginal photos to get one really good one.

The camera does not have a lens hood. You must be careful to position it with the sun in back for daylight use to avoid "washouts" at low sun angles, as well as possible lens flare. Positioning the unit with a slight "tilt down" will also help prevent exposure problems. In daylight, including too much sky in the scene can throw off the exposure system and cause underexposure of your target animal (dark pictures). You could also fabricate a type of lens shade for it if necessary.

The supplied bungies are adequate for attachment to a tree or fence post but obviously they provide no security. The attachment points on the camera are quite small. If security is a an issue ... you'll probably have to invest in locking cables and a security box of some type.

CAMERA IN USE

The fixed focus lens seems to focus best at about 10 feet to infinity. Mount it solidly. Full resololution stills open in Photoshop at 17 megabytes.

My first tests were in my basement with the lights on. With the camera set to 30 second delay, it had no problem sensing me and my movements and recording images to the card. Images were reasonably sharp but sort of grainy looking ... not surprised. These 6MP images were nowhere near the same image quality of my traditional 6MP digital still camera, so don't get your "quality" hopes up too high. This is no Canon or Nikon. I've seen 3MP still cameras that took pictures as good. This is NOT a high end camera imaging sensor and .. hey ... it's only a hundred bucks, So let's not be too critical.

The next test was in the snowy outdoors in cold, bright daylight at my bird feeder. The camera easily recorded me walking away, some birds flitting about and a squirrel or two. Nothing remarkable. All the snow on the ground caused a bit of image washout in the really bright areas. These snowy images were, at best, mediocre. The camera seems designed to capture "mid tone" colors best (makes sense). Greens, tans, brown and natural colors seem to record normally. Bright snow scenes are a bit more difficult for this cam to record well.

Next it went out to the hedgerow, affixed to a tree, where deer are known to pass and stop regularly. I have a salt lick nearby. The camera was set on 30 second delay for night sensing, IR exposure only. That first rainy night it took seven images. Considering the rainy weather, they were OK.

Several days later a little band of about 8 doe came to the camera. In this session the camera made 43 images. There are several of these images in the customer images section so you can see the night IR image quality you can expect from this camera. Properly set up, both the still and the video images are very good at night. On fresh batteries the IR flash is good for 25 feet or so. As the batteries wear down, the flash intensity also goes down. Cold will affect your batteries and results.

I've included a daylight test image of me at the camera and a few of the camera itself. I'll post some additional images as the weather get better and I can experiment more with it.

If you need a camera with "burst" mode or short shooting intervals, look elsewhere .. or use the video function. Count on spending more money for it.

The memory card was easy to read on my ASUS computer. No problem.

So far, I like it. Every time I visit the camera, it's a bit like opening a surprise package. You never know what you are going to get!

When the weather warms and large game become more active, I will have some better sample images.

Update: 02/23/11

My standard fresh Duracells are not giving very long life in the cold ... 50 to 60 stills and about 130 movies so far and they are about shot. The weather has been mostly 10-30 degrees at night and up to 60 degrees in the two weeks of use. On a cold night (20s) after the 5th or 6th movie, I can see the intensity of the IR light going down some.

GOOD BATTERIES ARE VERY IMPORTANT for good results! My next battery set will be these: Energizer AA Ultimate Photo Lithium Battery 24 Battery Bundle. Called e2 batteries. Claims are for 8 times the standard battery life and they are less affected by cold weather. Amazon reviewers had many good comments about them. Search it.

Camera is functioning well. So far I am pleased with the both the stills and movies.

My video samples may be seen on (YouTube). Search "WGI - X6c Trail Cam".

UPDATE: 5/16/2011

Camera is still working well. The lithium batteries worked well but I don't feel represent sufficient value. I'm now using mass purchase standard Duracells. They last pretty well in warmer weather. Make no mistake ... nighttime videos do use up the batteries faster but that setting also gives the best chance of a decent capture. Still frame capture is pretty hit or miss due to the somewhat slow trigger and 30 second delay. It all depends on your site set up. I wish the shot delay was only 15 seconds instead of 30 seconds.

As far as the quality ... I'm fine with it. At under a hundred bucks it's a pretty good value. Take time to read & UNDERSTAND the settings.

At under 100 bucks now, I'd say try it. I'm having fun with mine.

UPDATE: 8/29/2011

After giving it the summer off I replaced the batteries and put it back on site. First night captured over 20 stills of decent quality showing the nice big buck I had seen in daylight!

In my use I've found that it gives the best image if you can get your target from about 15 feet away. This yields a good image size on a deer. Night shots tend to blur easily. Stop them with corn or salt lick and they will be sharp. Battery life is decent in warm weather. A cheap set will give 250 - 300 stills. About 150 videos (in my experience). Cold weather much less.

As far as the six megapixels ...maybe they are there but I have seen 3MP standard still cameras that take better pictures. I think the camera is a decent value at under a hundred bucks. Just don't expect Canon quality from it. - Wildlife Camera - Photography - Trail Cam - Game Camera'

Great Deal - gift idea, jewelry

The colors were not as bright as what is pictured above, but they match very well. The pearls are a nice size and the colors works well with most clothes. For the price on these, you can't go wrong. Clean them before wearing, as they might irritate your skin.

However, if you're looking for a slightly more upscale set of stud pearl earrings, I recommend these. They're bigger, brighter, and higher quality, ie, made out of real gold. Mine are perfectly symmetrical. Both are real pearls, but these are bigger and brighter. I wear mine almost all the time and they don't irritate my skin.

14k Yellow Gold 6.5-7mm White Freshwater Cultured AA Quality Pearl Earrings White, Champagne, Platinum Grey, Chocolate Brown, Peach, Peacock and Green Button Freshwater Cultured Pearl Stud Earrings with Sterling Silver Clasp, Set of 7 (7-8mm)

I was hesistant at first to buy these earrings because of the low price but I am glad I did! The quality is great and they match just fine. They are comfortable and have the backs that click on so they will not fall off. I can wear a different color every day. I'm very satisfied with them. Buy them you won't be disappointed!

these looked beautiful in the pics. when then were delivered and the box was opened, they were much more georgeous than the pics. i'm so happy i choose them among all of the others i could have bought.

These earrings are extremely pretty and the colors are great. The size is perfect for me as is the slightly flattened shape. When it comes to stud earrings I don't like them too big or too small, and 6-8mm is my preference. There are enough colors to go with everything. Pearls are always a good choice because they are classic and never go out of style, so I'm very pleased with these and also the nice reusable box that they arrived in. It's perfect for keeping them in rather than trying to organize them in my bigger jewelry box. They are appropriate for all occasions.

7 pairs of pearl studs with stering silver backings --- all for $27. What more to ask?

Colors are vibrant (the green ones are gorgeous) and the size is just perfect --- maybe a hair bigger for my taste but they look great on.

If you want some variety for pearl studs and also want a sense of elegance and style. Pick this set. It won't disappoint you!

I bought these earrings partially as a gift and partially for myself. The gift recipients were very happy with their earrings and I am also very happy with the ones I kept. The colors are nice and add a little "something" without being too much.

The one downside is they did look a little less "real" than the photo and I was concerned that others might take them for plastic. No one has said anything, but I don't know what they think. - Great Deal - Gift Idea - Jewelry - Pearls'

Yoga Block Ergonomic

I have been doing P90X and other yoga videos. During them, I often felt as though I wasn't fully benefiting from the movements; moreover, I also believed it wasn't due to my capabilities. Having this block, which is functional from different angles and heights, has improved my ability to balance better and to open my torso. I appreciate the design, as it allows the user to grip the block and strengthen the position of the wrist. The strap was an added bonus. Gaiam All Grip Block and Strap Combo, Chai/Tan'

Blackberry Bold 9700

Alright, let me just say off the bat that as a former Bold 9000 user, I've been looking forward to the new Bold 2 for months since pictures were leaked on the internet. Since I get my phones through my company, I've had the phone since Nov. 18, when it was released on AT&T's network for Premier people. Unfortunately, my friend decided that after playing around with my phone, they wanted one, so I bought them an unlocked one.

The new Bold 9700 is a sleek phone - no doubt about it. RIM apparently has decided, though, to somewhat standardize their phones' look, a direction that bothers me to a great extent. One of the things I loved about the Bold was that it was different - you saw any other phone, and then you saw the Bold - and you thought "Wow, that phone IS bold!!" Size I couldn't care less about - as long as it looked good, and worked awesomely, what else matters? And the Bold 9000 fit those well. So when I got the new 9700, and I compared it to my coworker's Tour (for Verizon), I was quite surprised at how similar they were. It's actually somewhat hard to tell them apart (the 9700 is a bit smaller, and also has the trackpad). Just an observation....

Alright - to the review:

Pros:

Trackpad - this is definitely a most welcome upgrade. RIM outdid themselves on this part - I thought the trackball was good, this trackpad is great! The older Bold's trackball was great, as long as you kept dirt and dust out of it. Which turned out to be somewhat difficult, since there was a depression surrounding the trackball, and so if too much dust or dirt got in, the ball needed to be replaced. Also, if you used it too much, the ball would lose its grip, and become less responsive, also - once again - needing to be replaced. Both those problems are now gone with this new trackpad. For former trackball users, it may take a little use to get to know it, but once you do, trust me - you'll never go back.

Speaker - the speakers on the Bold are nothing less than stunning. My friend has an IPhone, and my speakers for playing music and speakerphone blow his out of this century. Not only can they get very loud, but they also are quite clear and crisp, for the volume you can put them to. And, if that wasn't good enough, RIM includes AudioBoost - for when you hook your Bold up to your car or stereo system, which bumps the output sound even higher. Excellent....

OS - the new BlackBerry 5 OS, which comes preloaded on the phone, is a major improvement over the 4.6 version in most other phones. It's snappier, and quite more responsive.

Camera - RIM upgraded the camera from a 2 MP in the older Bold to a 3.2 MP in the Bold 9700. The pictures that the phone takes are quite good, even in poor light conditions. Of course, if you try to take pictures in the club with it - prepare to be somewhat disappointed. Ha. But for regular, everyday camera uses, that "quick shot", the Bold 9700 actually takes decent pictures. Nice for when you forget to bring that digital camera with you.

There's a couple other pros I can think of, but they're more along the lines of business users, or based on networks (you could get 3G speeds on AT&T's network since the first Bold - T-Mobile just got their first 3G BlackBerry with this phone). If you're interested in them, drop me a comment, and I'll get back to you.

Now, for the cons:

Battery - battery life is still somewhat bad, although it definitely is an improvement over the older Bold. I normally use Pandora - an App that plays Internet Radio, trust me, this should be one of the first apps you download, it's free - the other is Google Maps, also free - anyway, back to the review, so I normally use Pandora, and I can get about 6 hours out of the battery, with small breaks in-between receiving phone calls. So, in normal use, you could probably get about a day out of the battery, which isn't terrible, but also is somewhat worse than comparable phones out there.

Hardware - this is probably my biggest negative I had. Normally, when they say upgrade, you would think they would put better hardware in the thing, right?? Well, think again. With the exception of the upgraded camera and trackpad, there is NO difference in hardware between this and the older Bold.

Zero.

Nada.

I would've liked some upgraded hardware in the phone. But again - this is just my thing. You may not care.

My last negative is more hit and miss - some people have been reporting that BlackBerry Maps - the app that RIM ships with the phone for navigation, doesn't work on the 9700. Myself included. This appears to be at random, but it just irks me. It may be dependent on the network you're on. Fortunately, there's a workaround - get Google Maps.

So - overall, the phone is a nice update. It works, takes nice pictures, looks sleek, and can be used as your new boombox when you want to blast "What is Love?" by Haddaway. (Kidding on the last one) I would completely recommend this phone, even with some of its faults, since they don't really take away from the experience with the phone.

I'll update this review from time to time, as I continue to use this, so if there's any questions, please feel free to ask.

UPDATE: As of today - 8/3/2010 - RIM has announced that their new BlackBerry OS - 6 - WILL be compatible with the 9700. So if you are looking at this phone, but aren't necessarily a fan of OS 5, or weren't sure if updates would be released for it - fear no more.

UPDATE 2: Today, 1/26/2011 - RIM has still not released the OS 6 for this phone yet, which is just BS. I included a link for those of you who are feeling dangerous and don't mind using beta software, so here you go - [...] Remember - it is a beta, so some things might be different, but I didn't notice any less functionality. Nice Collection Of Billy Joel - classic joel, billy joel

Clearly, listening to Now 38 feels like listening to the radio as it is TODAY. These are pretty much all current hits. And for a change, I must say, some of the 'now next' tracks are actually REALLY good and should totally get airplay in the near future, but that hasn't happened yet.

Just want to point out some versions for those purchasing this disc. On the plus side, you get the actual hit version of Katy Perry's ET including Kanye West, who wasn't featured on the original album version. Next, they've included the 'original' mix of More by Usher. At least in New York, the ONLY version that has ever gotten airplay is the "Red One" remix, which has more of an electro dance feel. For me, that mix is the 'hit' mix, so those who feel the same might be very disappointed by the mix included here. It's a great version as well, but it doesn't have the same driving beat.

Finally, F*ing Perfect by Pink is NOT the "Less than Perfect" resung lyrics version that is the only version ever played here in NY. Instead, it is the explicit version with the F word blanked out! Sounds horrible that way and I'm shocked they didn't include the Less Than Perfect version instead. Considering they used the hit version of Cee Lo, "Forget You" instead of bleeping out the explicit version, I'm not sure why they opted for this distractingly censored version of Pink. NOW That's What I Call Music Vol. 38

The four Now What's Next tracks aren't bad but as always it would have been nicer to include more of the songs that most of us know already. Also for the first time since Now Vol. 26, there are no country tracks included here. This is also the second straight volume without a rock track. As usual, this collection is great for keeping up to date with what's on the airwaves these days. Here are the peak positions on the Billboard Hot 100 for the tracks.

Not sure why some people bash on NOW albums. If you don't like pop music, then move to something else. NOW is meant to be a moment in time...a snapshot of pop music at that moment. I judge it simply on that...

The NOW CD concept was great, but the recent CDs, including #38 give you less hits by substituting "preview songs" for the last 4 songs on the disc. This is a lousy idea because you only get 16 hits instead of 20. So far, none of the "preview" songs have become hits. This is just one more example of how the consumer now gets less value for their buck.

This is a great CD compilation from recent releases from a wide variety of music genres by various top musicians/artists, titled 'Now 38 : That's What I call music'. It's a great selection of top singles/from bestselling albums by top artists in the music industry today. Music genres in this great CD include POP ("Born This Way" by the outragious/fabulous Lady Gaga from her forth coming CD release (title track) later this month, it's a great pop tune reminiscent of Madonna's popular tunes, "Hold It Against Me" is great dance techno/pop track by Britney Spears from her recent popular 2011 CD 'Femme Fatale', "E.T." by Katy Perry featuring Kanye West from her 2010 bestselling CD 'Teenage Dream', "Rolling In The Deep" a lovely soulful/pop tune by Adele from her bestselling 2011 CD '21', "You And Me" by Parachute & "I'll Be Waiting" by Michael Franti & Spearhead), Techno Dance ("Tonight(I'm Lovin' You)" a great dance track with wonderful rapping by Enrique Iglesias featuring Ludacris and DJ Frank E from his 2010 CD release, "Blow" by Ke$ha from her 2010 CD 'Cannibal' & "The Time(Dirty Bit)" is a good dance track with sampling from Billy Medley/Jennifer Warnes' track "I've Had The Time Of My Life", a soundtrack from the movie Dirty Dancing starring the late Patrick Swayze by The Black Eyed Peas from their 2010 CD 'The Beginning'), R 'n B/Soul ("S & M" a great single by the lovely Rihanna from her 2010 CD 'Loud', "Grenade" by talented Bruno Mars from their great 2010 CD 'Doo-Wops & Hooligans', "Look At Me Now" a great R 'n B/pop/hip hop/rap tune by Chris Brown featuring Lil' Wayne & Busta Rhymes from his 2011 CD 'F.A.M.E.', "More" by Usher from 2010 CD 'Raymond vs Raymond', "Forget You" by Cee Lo Green from 2010 bestseller 'The Lady Killer' & "All Day" by Cody Simpson), Rock ("******* Perfect" by lady rocker P!nk from her 2010 CD "Greatest Hits ... So Far" & "What The Hell" a wonderful rock track with great melody & harmonies by the Canadian lady indie rocker Avril Lavigne from her 2011 CD 'Goodbye Lullaby') & Hip Hop/Rap ("Coming Home" by Diddy-Dirty Money featuring Skylar Grey from their underrated 2010 CD 'Last Train To Paris', "Down On Me" by Jeremih featuring 50 Cent & "Tonight, Tonight" by Hot Chelle Rae). Stand-outs/gems/solid tracks from this CD include "Grenade" by Bruno Mars (wonderful music, great vocals & melody. Their performance of this track during Grammy Award 2011 Ceremony was quite memorable), "E.T." By Katy Perry (a wonderful pop tune), "******* Perfect" (great rock track), "More" by Usher (a beautiful melodical dance techno track), "You And Me" (a great pop/rock track, very melodical) & "All Day" by Cody Simpson. There is no weak track on this great CD (16 tracks plus 4 Bonus tracks/Now What's Next = 20 tracks in total), a highly recommended CD listening.

The NOW series of CD's have proven themselves, over the years, to be one of the best and most reliable purchases you can make when it comes to good, current music without mediocre "filler" songs. You can bet that on a NOW CD each song will be a chart climbing heavy-hitter.

If you like Pop music you can grab a NOW CD without even looking at the songs and know that you are getting something of high quality.

This one is no different. Although one change from past NOW's I own are that it seems heavy on dance music and female singers. But, looking at the charts, it is a reflection of who is dominating the top.

I would like to make a suggestion to NOW, though. Dump the numbering system already. We are at #38, and each one before it is a blur and the CD title gives no indication of what time period the songs might be from when searching past volumes. You have to drop it eventually, will there be a NOW 114, or NOW 228?

I suggest the year first, and then the volume number within that year. You guys have established yourselves well. No need to show us you have had 37+ successful compilations prior to this one. We trust your brand enough without knowing how many NOW's came before this one. - Billy Joel - Classic Joel - Nice Collection Of Billy Joel - Lmfao'

Science Fiction - universe, space

I wanted to like this, I really did. I like science. I especially like physics and astronomy. And, as a relatively new 3D owner, I'm still pretty tolerant.

Here's what the product info doesn't tell you. This is not an IMAX movie, or any other feature. It's one of those History Channel science shows. There are short segments on each of the "7 Wonders of the Solar System". The science is pretty simplistic. (The Sun is Hot, the Earth is Pretty, Saturn has Rings). The places where we come back from commercial and they recap what has been in the previous part of the show and what's coming up after the next commercial break comprise more than 10% of the content. They might have improved it by at least editing this as if we were going watch it commercial free.

The 3D quality? Very poor. The primary 3D is an animated frame that shadowboxes the edges of the 2D content. By animated I mean drawn, not moving - it's pretty stationary. The poor little animated spaceship is what your kids make when they get their first animation software. Only a couple of times when it goes to hyper drive is there actually a 3D effect of the stars.

There are maybe 10 minutes of okay 3D in this - a couple of minutes of NASA spacecraft animation, a couple of minutes of nature footage in the Earth segment, and (the only really nice thing) a recreation of the data from the 3D solar observatory. The sun looks rather conical, but at least it's high def and interesting.

If you must buy this, try to get in touch with those who wrote the 5 star reviews- they must have way better vision than I do, or possibly mood altering potions to share. The Universe: 7 Wonders of the Solar System [Blu-ray 3D]

This 3D Blu-Ray exceeded my expectations. I was expecting the same episode that originally aired on The History Channel, probably with some gimmicky 3D effects added in (yes, I bought it anyway, hoping that I was wrong). However, I was surprised to see (what I believe to be) some new, 3D interview footage and some new narration recorded specifically for this release. The 3D effects are very good. Seeing tiny Mercury eclipse the giant Sun in 3D is breathtaking as are some of the beautiful images of the rings of Saturn. Sure, most of it is CG, but that's fine because it looks really great. The only poor CG has to do with the spacecraft in which you are supposedly touring the solar system. Really, my only complaint is that there is some substantial crosstalk in many scenes, mostly when you see an object against the blackness of space. If that weren't true, I would have given this release 5 stars instead of 4.

My 2-year-old son is showing a lot of interest in space/planets/astronomy, so I thought he might enjoy this. Indeed, he did. He sat riveted through the whole thing (which, if you knew my hyper son, is pretty amazing). "Is that Saturn?", "Look, the Sun! It's coming out of the TV!", "Wow, the Sun is very hot!", etc. One thing this video accomplished for my son is something I had been unable to articulate to a 2-year-old; that is the sheer size of the planets. The 3D really helps to illustrate this in a way that nothing else can. I think he now has a good sense of how enormous the sun is when compared to other planets.

This video satisfied an itch that I hoped would have been scratched by many of the 3D Imax documentaries out there that disappointed me. It's a good, 3D documentary that can serve as a good demo of your new 3D TV, yet also be interesting and watchable in its own right. "7 Wonders of the Solar System" accomplishes this nicely. Sure, it has a few problems (crosstalk, poor CG graphics for the spacecraft, etc.), but overall I'm really happy with it. Videos are subjective though, so your mileage may vary.

My ratings are based mainly on the QUALITY OF THE 3D, not the video content.

Not counting the repeating graphics, There are about 14 out of screen effects that extend about 10% of the way, from the screen to the viewer. Another 3 around 25%. For 10 seconds stars fly OOS around 50% and one makes it to 70%. Rocks OOS around 25% for 10 seconds, leafs blow by up to 25% for 15 seconds, a satellite graphic, swings out to 40% and a dolphin's nose extends to over 35%. 18 times the same simplistic space ship council extends 10% and at least 8 times a graphic overlay floats at 20%.

Some short segments were so flat they didn't appear to be in 3D at all.

Excess parallax easily visible in a few scenes.

And yes, as other reviews have said, the graphics add a cheese factor.

Repeating graphics and some repeating scenes.

Looked like old animation converted to 3D mixed with new interviews shot in 3D. Very poor quality space animation with an added cartoon like hud display (would have been better without it)overlayed on the screen. Very disappointed!

I was expecting spectacular imagery from telescopes like hubble and a journey to see new things about the universe. It is a top ten countdown of computer generated images of things that we all know about: Saturn, Jupiter, the sun, earth etc. Way too much commentary and not nearly enough imagery. A waste for 3-D. And not intersting enough to show a guest the capabilities of my 3D TV. It was a bore to watch and a true disappointment. Don't waste your money. - Space - Nasa - 3d - Universe'

Metal Cutting Miter Saw - cut-off saw, metal cutting miter saw

I'm cutting light tube stock with the occasional small bar. This saw works by taking tiny bites with carbide teeth.

It replaced a Horz bandsaw in my shop. Very good value for the money in my opinion Evolution Power Tools FURY2 14-Inch Multipurpose Cutting Chop Saw

This is a powerful machine. Cut through my poles and fixture metal like butter. Glad I got this over a chop saw because there was no sparks from each cut. This comes in handy especially if you are working indoors and do not want any fire risk. Would highly recommend.

Received unit sooner than actually expected. Had a couple nice days to work in the shop so I proceeded to build a stand out of steel tubing for the saw,and just set the saw on a temporary table. The saw did not move around while cutting and cut through the material quikly, with no sparks and dust accumulation. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is I thought it could have a better way to catch more of the shavings.I did manage to cut the tubing faster than using my band saw,and ended up with nicer cuts.

I regret two things about this saw. 1) I gave it to my dad. 2) I gave it to him before Christmas. So now I'm left without this awesome saw and I still need to buy him a Christmas present. All that aside, the saw delivers a very nice straight cut and it's fast.

Got the saw Saturday and immediately went to work cutting some steel 1 1/4" x 1/8" wall square tube. Cuts through it like butter, quick, easy, and a nice clean cut. Also cut some 3/8" x 2" steel bar, no problem. I'm very please with the quality and performance for the price.

One thing that wasn't clear to me from the description was if a blade was included, I ordered a blade as well but found there is one already on the saw so I have an extra. - Cut-off Saw - Metal Cutting Miter Saw - Circular Saws - Metal Cutting'

Power Tools

This is an outstanding book. It is well written, well organized, has excellent graphics and pictures, and serves a much needed role in most woodshops. White would have been a great engineer. His jigs and measurement techniques are clever, well documented, and easy to make and use. I found myself smiling several times at the ingenuity of his low-cost (and effective!) solutions to high-cost measurement tools. I have a middle-of-the-road chinese knock off table saw that wasn't cutting well (burns and lots of resistance). I made the jigs and went through the tune up procedure in an evening, and the saw performs much better afterwards. I would like have heard White's recommendations for storage, cleaning, and top protection (e.g., waxing vs. oiling ground surfaces), as well as his tips and comments for shop safety, but they are justifiably outside the scope of this book. Overall an excellent book that I am very glad to have stumbled upon. Care and Repair of Shop Machines: A Complete Guide to Setup, Troubleshooting, and Maintenance

I've been having some problems getting my jointer tables aligned properly, and happened upon this book by accident. What luck! This book is full of great info on tune-ups and alignment. John White goes in depth into the set up and alignment of primary power tools (jointer, planer, table saw, bandsaw, router table, drill press and miter saw). His writing is clear, easy to understand and follow, with plenty of very descriptive pictures. The book is very complete on each of the tools covered. I truly appreciated that he used many shop-built jigs and common tools to get things done.

What can I say, the chapter on setting up your jointer is worth the price of the book by itself. The pictures and the diagrams are great, easy to understand, and the text is informative and easy to read. This book makes you a better woodworker, because your tools will be correctly set up, which also makes them more fun to use and much safer.

I would recommend this book to you, even if you do not own the tool, but are looking at getting into woodworking, with this book you will be better able to understand how the various tools work, and you can buy decent used tools and tune them up, saving you a bundle!

Great book!!

John White does a great job with nice illustrations. I recommend this to anyone with a woodworking machine. It's amazing how far off your tools are until you set them up correctly. You'll save time and money by making better cuts the first time when the tool is setup correctly. It's amazing we take the time to measure an angle for moulding and when we cut it and it doesn't fit you think you measured incorrectly when it could have been your tool off by one degree.

The reason woodworkers want this book is to save money and time. Understanding and applying the knowledge herein might save your fingers and maybe even your life! I am not joking...

John White was the shop manager for Fine Woodworking for about a decade and is still a contributing editor. He has a wealth of practical knowledge and presents it clearly. I particularly like Mr. White's style in some of his videos. He "cuts to the chase" by demonstrating you how things work, THEN explains them concisely. He also invented (or re-engineered) a very clever workbench and numerous practical shop-jigs. Now, not all of those ( or even very many ) are in this volume. I only mention that to illustrate the breadth and scope of the author's knowledge. John White is certainly qualified to write about this subject.

The MOST IMPORTANT REASON that every newcomer should buy (or at least read) this book is to prevent hassles, mistakes, accidents, and bad buying-decisions.

For instance, if you do not understand how to adjust a tablesaw or bandsaw, how can you possibly choose a machine with the right features?

If you don't know how to tell if a blade is square to the miter-slot (or fence,) and how to adjust it, you WILL experience kickback. (...not "IF" but "WHEN.") Unlike that funny TV commercial, kickback is deadly serious.

There are over THIRTY THOUSAND wood-shop accidents every year, many of which are related to these main machines discussed in this book. I have seen a piece of plywood shoot from a table-saw and go careening across the shop at sixty-miles an hour like a demonic frisbee, then stick itself into a wall. That particular incident was caused by a novice who ignored basic rules of machine set-up and use. No one was killed or blinded that day, but he was lucky. Would you rather depend on luck or knowledge? If that guy would have followed the advice in this book, it would have never happened.

Those "bargain" tools we see in home-centers are often more trouble than they are worth. If you know what features to look for, then you can avoid buying junk. You can also spot a real bargain when you see one.

John's set-up tricks can save money on wood too. When you gaff and destroy some lumber because a machine wasn't set-up well or you used it improperly, you throw money down the drain. The small investment in this reference will definitely pay a beginner backs MANY TIMES over!

BTW... If your primary interest is table-saws, you really should online-search "Ed Bennett" and the "tsaligner." (Table-Saw Align-er). Ed developed a tool and methods (plural) for really dialing in any decent table-saw. He has taken the subject of table-saw adjustment to a degree of accuracy that approaches and meets machine-shop standards. He has a good web-site with so much information I can't possibly delineate much of it here. Once you understand Mr. Bennett's approach, the same methods can be applied to numerous machines.

I agree with another reviewer that Taunton's use of the word "complete" in the tittle is wrong. This is nowhere near complete. But the information is crucial to choosing the right equipment, using it well, and keeping it in top shape for best results.

This book covers crucial adjustments for the main machines. Not only that, but the concepts are universal. Simple tools, jigs and geometry will measure and verify every shop-tool operation for safety and accuracy. How much is THAT knowledge worth?

No finite tome can possibly cover every possible machine or set-up scenario.

This does show beginners how to choose and safely use the most common shop machines.

Heck, even and old-fart like me learns a new trick now and then, and I have learned a few from John White. I have had to train dozens of people in various work environments over the decades. If I could have had this volume thirty years ago, it would have saved a whole lot of time. I'd just say to every new guy that walked in looking for a job, "Here... read this."

John's advice will save you money, and possibly a trip to the hospital too. That alone is worth the price of admission. If you run a woodworking shop with employees, this should be mandatory reading. If you can't buy it, go to the library and check it out.'

I use this size label for shipping stuff via UPS and the USPS. I thought I would spend the extra $ on Avery, they've been making shipping labels since the Puritans shipped their stuff to the New World. They have some good features - easy to peel from the backing, they cover well and the ink dries instantly - BTW these work perfectly with either laser or inkjet printers. I've had no problems with the printing aspect. It's the adhesion aspect that is a problem - these guys like to peel at the edges. No matter how much I rub and burnish them, they usually peel at least a little, sometimes a lot. They're better on coated cardboard like the USPS Priority Mail boxes, worse on regular cardboard boxes. The smoother the surface, the better they stick. That's true with most adhesives, but these labels are designed to be used on boxes, and should stick perfectly to all types, especially at this price. Avery Internet Shipping Labels for Laser Printers with TrueBlock Technology, 5.5 x 8.5 Inches, White, Box of 200 (05126)

I too had the problem of the receipt printing out on the other half of the sheet (label) when printing my postage, but I solved it by only inserting one label into the printer, NOT one whole sheet. My printer simply stops printing when it detects the end of the page and spits out the label. I have a feeling this will work for most other printers as well. I would encourage all to try this once. For me, as a result of this technique, not a single label is wasted. I LOVE THEM!!!

UPDATE:I got a new printer, a completely different brand and the above technique works like a charm in this one, too. I really think this works on all printers, give it a try! :o)

UPDATE! Ron, of Life Defined Photography was kind enough to let me know that you can change a setting in paypal shipping preferences and this will cause your printer only to print the one half of the label. I found this setting and mapped out an exact path. Once you've logged into your paypal,

Follow these steps below:

Under Profile click 'More Options'...then under the 'selling preferences' column click 'shipping preferences'...then under 'printer' click the 'edit printer settings' link. You'll see a box that says 'print receipt'. Uncheck this box, then scroll to the bottom of the page and click 'save'.

These labels are great for printing the USPS Labels for the items I sell on ebay when I print the label in paypal - sometimes I'm afraid it won't adhere - the edges will come a little loose but they seemed to work OK - so far all the items (300+) that I've sent in the past 3 months nobody has compalined of not receiving them

I bought these for my ebay store, to make shipping faster. I spent x6 times the amount for this higher brand. Problem is that this paper, 50% gets jammed in my printer, so I can not do multi order shipping on paypal, and print it in one shot. They need to increase the flexibility & decrease the thickness. Then the other issue is the price, it is way too overpriced, when I can get the same thing and maybe better for 5 dollars. Only thing I like is that the paper label is good quality and sticks well. But I think I am going to either have to buy the cheaper brand or buy a Zebra label printer.

I use these labels to print US Postal Service Click N Ship labels. They are very white, very thick, and print very cleanly and they never cause any jamming or feeding issues in my HP Laserjet 2550. They do cover what you stick them on very well as advertised-- meaning you won't see barcodes or other addresses underneath. On the downside, the adhesion of these is not as good as Dymo type labels. If I am placing this on a box that is the same size as the label, I always put packaging tape around the edges of the label because I'm not confident it is going to stay on during beating tossed around during shipping. I haven't tried the other brand mentioned here, but would be willing to. I'm not disappointed with these and if you have a need I could recommend them, but I think there is some room for improvement on adhesion. Don't get me wrong, their adhesion isn't as light as a post it or anything like that... On the upside, they shouldn't ruin your printer rollers if one were to come off during printing and stick inside your printer-- which is a common problem when printing labels in a laser printer.

Bought this to save time on shipping. I used to print on plain paper and then cut it and tape it to the mailing envelope, now I don't have to tape but still have to cut, I use stamps.com, USPSclicknship.com and PayPal.com to print my mailing labels and the printing format it does not fit the actual size of the label sheet, therefore a cutting must be made. The question is; should I spend $20 just to save a few minutes in putting tape to my labels or go back to the always cheap but time-consuming roll of tape?

Advice to future buyers: Perforated in the middle for easy cut, but only in half. When printing, the remaining margins must be cut off, it does not have rounded corners, only advantage I see against plain paper? Self adhesive. - Clicknship - Easy - Avery - Labels'

Security Bits - security bits, hex

Having read a bunch of reviews on other similar tool sets, my main worry was that the bits would be too soft to hold their edges and get stripped easily. There was one review at the time I made my decision to purchase that noted that the bits were "solid". I second that opinion. I will still be very careful when using them, but they seem very hard and unlikely to strip.

As soon as I received the set, I used them to take apart a hard drive using the Torx bits. I'm glad I got a set instead of a single Torx driver, because the hard drive I took apart needed 2 different bit sizes. Using the bits and driver I had no problem getting the hard drive apart.

As a bonus (for me), the set of flat head and Phillips head bits are perfect for tightening those eyeglass hinges that get loose over time.

I think this set is a great value for the price. 30 Pcs Pocket Precision Screwdriver Bit Set with Tweezer

After purchasing a cheap set of precision screwdrivers I was hesitant to order this one (since it was cheap too) but after reading a review saying that the bits were solid and tough I decided to give it a try. Well, I was able to repair my digital camera flash without damaging the screws, and most of all without damaging the screw driver as well (since the other one I bough got the tips bent). It comes in a nice case and all the bits are easy to access, but what I love the most is that its magnetic so, it keeps the bits on place and once I removed the screw the tiny screw stayed on the tip of the bit, I like that because it saved me from dropping the screw and then trying to find it on the floor. The only thing I wished it had was and extension for the bits.

I have to admit that I was hesitant to order this. I've purchased sets in the past for a specific job and paid low prices, only to find out that the "Made in China" items were flimsy and weaker than the screws they were supposed to remove. This set is SOLID and the multiple tips will keep you busy for hours. I needed a torx screwdriver to fix an iPod and this provided - at a great price which I assume to be an introductory price (plus free shipping with Amazon prime!)

Overall, ten thumbs up for this little set.. case is solid, snaps closed firmly. Screwdriver handle is small, so guys with big hands may have some trouble getting a good grip, but handle beats the jewelry screwdrivers out there. Very pleased.

What can you expect for this cheap price? Obviously, this is not a high quality tool; not like the ones you would see in a professional environment.

But I needed one for home to maintenance my computer. Forget the Philips screwdriver, the quality is too low; you're better off getting them at your local stores. What I really wanted was the Torx screwdrivers. Again, not high quality, but the assortment of the bit sizes were nice, and I was able to disassemble my Mac with out messing up any of my screws.

So I have to say it does get the job done right and at a really good price.

When I previously needed a precision screwdriver, I either could never find the right size or the hand grip would be so narrow and small that I could not apply the proper amount of force to it. With this set, there are 30 bits to work with and the hand grip allows for good control over the screwing movement. The bits are nicely stored in the box and are easy to remove and put back.

We had a trouble with our Wii when our 3 years old curious george inserted a piece of plastic and paper into Wii and turned out it didn't read any game disc at all so my husband tried to open it but had a hard time finding the right screw driver which is a tri wing one. we looked everywhere at Radioshack, Bestbuy, Walmart, Sear but nobody carries this so we found one here on Amazon and my husband really didn't find the one he like by reading all those comments mostly said other screw drivers from other brands didn't work

so the broken Wii left there for almost a month and we were thinking sending to Nintendo to fix it and we've heard they will charge for $80 so finally I found this screw driver set and ordered it.. it really save the day

my husband can open the Wii using all those different screw driver heads came with this set and work fine it might loose a lil bit but still work ok now he can open it and use a tweezer to get those pice of paper and plastic out and now our Wii it's working again. so for $10 it's worthy and you can save for other gadget too

I mean really JUNK. I know it's a good price, but it's a cheap plastic case and the metal bits fall out of the cheap plastic/rubber handle. This one's going back. BUY a NAME BRAND. DEFINITELY NOT "precision"

I gave this product a 5 star rate just because it exceeded my expectations, I bought it to change the housing of my cell phone and have had to use it once or twice since then, but for an occasional use this set rocks, I've read a lot of reviews looking for similar sets of screwdrivers and in the end I chose this one because it had good ratings, in the end it did what it had to do and the tip of the screws held together pretty well.

I bought these for replacing my macbook (late 2009) hard drive.

It works perfectly. love that it's magnetics and pretty good build quality as well!

The packaging is a bit off though. It came with an envelope instead of a small box and the case cracked.

but it wasn't a real problem. so overall the product is a 5 star for the value! - Cheap - Hex - Torx - Security Bits'

Excercise Equipment

There's a lot of good reasons to choose resistance bands to exercise...

-good for home workouts

-great for traveling (some gyms in hotels are just pitiful); these are very portable

-great to use with exercise videos (a lot of ex. DVD's have you use bands)

What will they do for you?

-tone your muscles

-help you burn a few calories

-make your muscles stronger

-make your bones more dense

Why choose these particular ones?

-they're pretty sturdy

-come with a door attachment

-exercise charts included

-most find the handles comfortable

-offer different bands with varying levels of difficulty

-reasonably priced

Disadvantages?

-if you look like the incredible Hulk, you're probably not going to get enough of a workout

-some might find them hard to work with

-some might not like the "feel" of them as they do an exercise

All-in-all they're a great exercise tool to use to help you get in shape, prevent injuries, or even rehabilitate one (you see these in physical therapy clinics a lot). And don't forget, once you get comfortable using a given color, move up to the next harder band if you want to keep getting stronger. Also recommend Treat Your Own Tennis Elbow if tennis elbow is interfering with your workouts. SPRI ES501R Xertube Resistance Band with Door Attachment

This product is amazing. I recently did 5 weeks of bootcamp and we used these resistance tubes every time for biceps, chest, back and shoulders. Its amazing how effective these are and all the time you are just using your body weight. You can make it as easy or as difficult as you want. I had to get them. The green one was a little too light for me and the blue one is a little too tight for a beginner woman. Best part is you can take this lightweight exercise gear anywhere you want and have a good muscle toning workout. Think you can google up the different exercises you can do with these. Plus for the price, it is so cheap, you dont even need to think twice.

SPRI ES501R Xertube Resistance Band with Door Attachment and Exercise Charts (Red, Medium)SPRI ES502R Xertube Resistance Band with Door Attachment and Exercise Charts (Blue, Heavy)SPRI ES503R Xertube Resistance Band with Door Attachment and Exercise Charts (Purple, Very Heavy)

Although I haven't found much wrong with the band itself (beside the fact that the resistance is lighter than I had expected), the term "door attachment" is somewhat misleading. What you're given is a strap; on one side, there is a loop to pull the band through, and one the other, is what I can only really describe as a small nub.

It makes sense that for such a low price, one shouldn't expect something that actually firmly attaches to the door, so I do not fault them for what it is, but, a word of caution: absolutely make sure that the door closes completely, and cannot be pulled open without twisting the handle.

I used my band probably ten times, and when I decided that I needed to move further back to create more resistance while doing pull-up simulation exercises (lateral pull-downs), I was shocked to watch the door open and see the band and door attachment flying toward me.

Yes, the door attachment hit me right below my neck AND square in the kisser; the band hit me in the chest. After crying like a little girl and icing my swollen lips and the definite outline of the band on my chest, I realized it wasn't that bad (I was mostly shocked), but it really could have been, had it hit me in the eye, etc.

I'm sure I sound like an idiot, but heed my warning. I thought my door was securely closed, but boy did I learn the hard way.

I've worked out at home for years, but only recently have I begun incorporating exercise bands into my strength training. I've had a few flat-type bands that have wound up getting worn and snapped over time, so I wanted to invest in a higher-quality band. Happily, this SPRI tubing perfectly fit the bill WITHOUT breaking the band! This is a very sturdy, very versatile little piece of exercise equipment. You can use it to replace weights in your usual workouts, which allows you to work your muscles in some new and unique ways (refer to the included exercise chart for ideas). When at home, you can actually use the tubing WITH your weights to add greater resistance throughout the entire muscle movement, OR you can pack your tubing with you when traveling--so light and convenient! Finally, the included door attachment is easy to use and allows you to perform an even greater variety of exercises. I wasn't sure which strength tubing to purchase, but I am an intermediate to advanced exerciser, and the medium (red) is perfect for me, as it is easy to adjust for either more or less resistance when needed. Highly recommended!

I bought these bands so that I could strength train for swimming. I am blown away at how exhausting and challenging the resistance is. I experienced tremendous burn and muscle fatigue. I highly recommend the tube for supplemental training if you are not able to get in the water to swim. My strength in the water has increased noticably. I am a true believer in this product.

I've not used other tubes, but I'm happy with this one. Seems well made, I like the handles. I've seen others in stores that cost more and don't look as good. I'm no athlete, but I wouldn't order a tube with less resistance.

I recently received my SPRI Xertube Resistance Band and so far it is everything it claims to be. The product is very well made and is just like the ones I use at the gym. There's a lot of choice out there when it comes to resistance bands, but I believe that you cannot go far wrong with SPRI. Time will tell how long they last, but considering they're relatively inexpensive, I'm not too worried.

The packaging describes the red bands to be of medium resistance and for people who are moderately fit to fit. My guess is that they're pretty good for most people. If you need more resistance, try the blue (heavy) or the purple (very heavy) bands. If you need less resistance, try the green (light) or the yellow (very light).

Note that the handles are plastic. As an alternative, you might want to consider this product that has foam, rather than plastic, handles, but does not appear to include the door attachment: "SPRI XT-MU Xertube with Padded Foam Handles - Medium Resistance".'

Immune Command X - antioxidant, immune support

My doctor recommended that I get an immune boosting product and he told me what to look for. This product had everything that he recommended and more. He would not choose a product for me but I brought in the bottle on my next visit and he craked a grin and said it was better than the one he had been using so that sounds like a good thing to me. I have noticed that cold symtoms over the winter have been less and that used to catch every cold in the office, or at least felt like it but now, I think I avoided at least half of the ones at work. I will stick with this and use it regularly. Life is too short to save a few bucks and sacrifice your health. Immune Command X TM Immune system defender, 120 capsules, Highest Quality Immune Defense Available

I think that too many people are neglecting their health these days, but spending a lot of money on luxury items. People wont be able to enjoy those kind of things without good health. Cancer has moved into the number one position, ahead of heart disease for the number one natural cause of death before old age.

I have been using this product for a while now and I just feel much more healthy. I showed the bottle to one of my friends who is a medical doctor and she said that the forumula made a lot of sense. I will continue to use it and I hope that others will take better care of themselves also. Plenty of water, plenty of sleept, etc....

Probiotics in an important building block to maintaing good health. I dont want to bad mouth other brands but I have to say that I have gotten better results with this product than 3 more popular brands out there. This product is exactly as advertised.

My daughter recommended this product to help strengthen my immune system. She said that if I wasnt willing to buy it myself then she was going to keep giving me bottles. I have only been using it for a couple of weeks but started researching products like this and found this one to be a very rich formula since it contains more of the key ingredients that I could not find in just one other product that was similar. She says that she has gotten a lot less colds last winter and sometimes just got the symptoms but not the full cold like some of her coworkers where she works. I will keep using it but will buy my own bottles from now on.

My girlfriend and I have been sharing this product over the winter. We take it every day unless one of us forgets. We were talking about it a few days ago and we both agreed that we had the healtiest winter in a long time, gettin less sick or not at all when others around us seemed affected. It seems to be pretty good stuff and I plan to keep using it daily.

This is a product that one of my friends uses and he sugested it to me. After a couple of months I feel more clear headed and seem to have more zip in my step. I do not have any serious illnesses but the antioxidents seem to be a plus even tho I am very healthy. Pin Nailer - pin nailer, 23 gauge

I recently purchased the Freeman PP123 23-Gauge Pinner. I was going to spend a whole lot more on a well known brand to see what all the hoopla was about with 23-gauge pinners. Having owned several air nailers from 18-15 gauge by Bostitch, Campbell Hausfeld, Makita, Milwaukee, Black & Decker, Porter Cable, & Senco I would have gladly purchased one from those manufactures that make a 23-gauge pin nailer. The Freeman caught my eye because the price and because of the fact that they advertise a 7 year warranty so I went ahead and purchased the Freeman. The packaging was great and consisted of the pinner fully assembled with air coupler already assembled on to the unit with dust cap. It also came with a bottle of oil, a belt hook, a pair of safety glasses, 3 allen wrenches to maintain the unit, and a very well written owners manual and warranty card. I bought some bostitch 23 gauge pins and they fit fine in the Freeman pinner. I have only used about 30 pins as a trial, but I must say I am very impressed with the Freeman pinner. It is well built and drives the pins well. A few annoyances with the pinner is the safety switch under the trigger in which you must rotate to fire a pin, but once it is out of the way you can shoot as many pins as you like, also if you get a jam you must use an allen wrench and remove 2 screws to remove the nose plate to remove the stuck pins(this has not happened to me yet), also you must set the size pins you use on the magazine, but not too big an issue especially since some pinners twice the price have that feature. One more thing there is not a non marring tip on the Freeman so do not put too much pressure on the stock you are using or it will leave a mark, but if you don't put any pressure it will barely mar the finish(depending on how hard the stock is). I would like to put something on the tip to be able to apply a little pressure, but I am not sure what to put yet. All in all it is a very good pinner for the price and has exceeded my expectations for the price and would recommend it. Freeman PP123 23 Gauge 1-Inch Pinner

This is an inexpensive pinner that does all it needs to do. Well made and strong. Be sure to play on some scrap wood first. I put pins all the way through oak with it. The only negative is that it doesn't come with a case and the company doesn't seem to offer one. Its still a five. I'll live without the case. This is as good or better thna the P-C. Spent the extra money saved on pins.

The pinned works well, at least it did for the first 300 pins or so, then it stopped, air started leaking out of the trigger assembly. It has a 7 year warranty but I only have this one pinned and need it for the furniture I am building. I have been unable to find a source for parts, apparently they are not available, but then again it is only $60 for another one.....maybe that is what I will do......The o rings are what is probably wrong but there is no source for ordering new ones.......Grex or Senco, or even Porter Cable would probably have better customer support.....but it is only $60.00

I've used this pinner for scotia, small detail returns, repairing chips and splits, and even crown moulding. Although some people have complained about the lack of active safety and non-marring tip, these are features that shouldn't be on a micro pinner. While other brands, like Grex, make pinners that shoot up to 2" pins, the chance of deflection with a 23ga pin at that length is pretty high.

This pinner is a practical tool that does everything it advertises...and does it well!

Great for the frugal handyman! My husband looked like a kid in a candyshop when I bought this for him. He is now even more pleased after using it several times on all of those larger "honey-do" projects! - 23 Gauge - Pinner - Nail Gun - Pin Nailer'
