Iphone Car Mount - iphone car mount, iphone

I wish this was built better because if you put it on your windshield and *never* touch it again, it works great. I like the stiffness of the neck and the ability to rotate from portrait to landscape. HOWEVER, the first one I owned broke when I tried to remove it from the windshield. The part that breaks is a small piece inside the suction mechanism that allows you to "lock" the ultra-strong suction into place. Once it's broken, you can stick it on something but it will rattle and eventually fall off.

I notified the manufacturer and they replaced the broken unit under warranty (it took a while to receive the new one.)

I was excited that they replaced it, but only three weeks later the exact same thing happened to my replacement unit, and that was with me already knowing to be careful with the lock mechanism! It simply doesn't take much effort to break the tiny piece inside and there is no way to access it for DIY repair. Once it's broken, the product is immediately useless. This is a design flaw and unfortunately I cannot recommend this product to anyone until it's fixed because there are no workarounds. Macally mGrip Suction Cup Holder for All Portable Devices in Vehicle (Black)

S. Kallshian posted a review stating that the locking mechanism easily breaks on this. I'm glad I'm not the only one. I bought two of these, one for my girlfriend and one for me. Hers is still fine, because she never moves it. I moved mine (I bought a plastic disc to mount to my dash, I was tired of having it stuck to my windshield), and it has not worked since.

In addition to the lock mechanism breaking, mine will no longer hold my phone in landscape orientation. It will stay for about a minute, but then the phone will slowly rotate until it is in portrait orientation. Very disappointing. I almost never leave reviews, but I am on Amazon looking for a new phone mount for my iPhone, and saw this so I decided to leave a review to warn others about my experiences with this mount.

I always read the reviews before I buy and for some reason I did not do that for this holder, if I had I would have purchased a different holder. So far this has worked very good for me but should that change I will modify my review.

I bought this for my IPhone. I have a Ford Escape with Sync and MotionX Drive loaded on my IPhone. This holder is long enough that brings my phone out to the front of my dash where I can see it the way I want. It also seems to be holding up very well. I do not leave this attached to my window when I park my car any place other than my garage. I have had this on and off of my window several dozen times already without any problems. It sticks firmly to my window and releases very easily when I push the release button. The neck is flexible allowing me to set my phone exactly in the position I want yet sturdy enough to hold where I set it. The holder is adjustable and holds my phone very securely in place.

As an Amazon Prime member I got free 2 day shipping on my order and it arrived on time and in perfect shape. - Iphone - Iphone Car Mount'

Excellent Product - sony radio, am-fm

I'm a big time radio guy, and have used many models over the years. There are two things that really make any radio stand out, and this one has both of them.

The ICF-38 is an excellent performer as far as reception of both AM and FM signals go. Weak signal pick up on both bands is markedly better here than with almost all small portable radios I've used, and even more importantly, selectivity (ability to seperate stations cleanly) is better as well. The tone switch (which some radios don't even have) cuts the treble when desired, if you want a less harsh sounding AM signal. The dial has no clock or light, but an LED for indicating if a station is tuned in. Battery life is excellent if alkalines are used (it takes 4 AA batteries). Output volume is listed as 4 watts, quite loud for a radio of this size, with little distortion at top level.

The other ingredient for a good radio is ease of use and a well thought out design. There are little things here which most people won't notice that actually make this radio a joy to use. Many radios today that run off both internal batteries and AC require a seperate wall-wart that plugs into the radio and the outlet, but the ICF-38 has the power cord built in so you won't have to search for it when needed. Also, the battery cover is hinged, which is great as battery covers can disappear as easily as wall-warts (and you can't just go to Wal-mart to buy a new battery cover). The carry handle flips up when needed, and there is an indentation in the cabinet which allows you to slip in a finger to raise it easily, and you'll find out how nice this is when your hands are full and you need to bring the radio with you as well. Both slide switches for band selection and power have a raised bump in the middle which makes it easier to change bands or turn it on. Finally, The shape makes it easy to place in most locations and it is very stable, making it unlikely to get knocked over.

If there were no markings on this radio to indicate the manufacturer, I would have easily guessed that it was a Sony product. It has the great performance and clever design that I associate with Sony. Sony ICF38 Portable AM/FM Radio (Black)

This radio brings in distant stations, sounds good, and takes up little space. The controls are easy for me to use. These were the qualities I was looking for so I am pleased I made the choice to buy Sony ICF38.

Just what I was looking for--a quality desktop radio with nothing fancy-- just a radio. The sound quality is very good and the reception is excellent with a telescoping adjustable attenna. Great value for the price.

batteries run forever. this is replacing the older version of this model which had the tv band and emergency weather, never the less this one works great I use this for the yard and beach and it is also fairly sturdy.

I just recently purchased this gem for use in my office & garage & my first impressions are as follows:

-Decent sound quality

-Reception is very good, actually better than a few portables I own that

cost much more.

-Very easy to use,you don't even need a manual.

This radio is a throw back to the 70's,no bells and whistles

just a tone control for music & talk. What impressed me the

most is the ease of picking up on AM lower powered stations

over 100 miles in the day time. For giggles & grins, I used a

'Select A Tenna' antenna in the night time & this unit turned

into a serious DX,ing machine! . In a nushell, for the money you

can't go wrong.

With the hurricane season approaching, we needed to replace our old portable radio. This Sony AM/FM met all the requirements: reasonable price, great sound, battery or plug-in operation. When my husband saw the radio, he asked how much it was and guessed it was at least $50. He was very surprised and pleased with the actual cost. A really excellent value, and a Sony!

Having been a radio nut for years, and using this radio for about five months now, this review is not given casually. Probably could stock my own radio store.

If you're looking for a basic AM/FM portable radio with excellent reception, sound, portability, quality and brand, you've come to the right place. And there's even a Tone High/Low switch which gives a nice variety of sound choices.

Rather than going into the specifics of the antenna, carry handle, aesthetic appeal, speaker size and quality, functionality of the knobs, battery life, suffice it to say, for $25 you can't go wrong! Try it - you'll like it.

(and no, I'm not a Sony nor Amazon representative)

I don't know how to review radios as I live 25 miles frm NYC so everything will work, but we have a mountain in between and somne stations are hard to tune. Anyway, this is fine for listening to Yankees games and tells when the signal is as good as can be. Also durable, can be thrown aroundn and still work. - Sony Radio - Am-fm - Am Fm Radio - Excellent Product'

Powered Sub - amplifier wiring kits, amplifier

If you're doing an install that requires at least 4 gauge, then this is not the kit for you. The insulation on the wire is pretty thick, but the copper is very limited and looks more like 8 gauge. Before buying this I called Boss Audio to get the fuse rating and they said it was 100A. It looks more like 80A based on the thickness of the metal. I bought a 4 gauge kit in walmart which was clearly a 4 gauge and much bigger than what I received with this and came with a true 100A fuse as clearly indicated by it's size. Boss KIT-10 Complete 4 Gauge Amplifier Installation Kit

This amp kit is not 4 guage , it's more like 8 guage , very poor quality , dont waste your time & money on this , rockford fosgate & stinger audio make very good 4 guage amp kits , please stay away from this crap.

I'm not impressed with Boss's stuff at all. The audio cable has the cheap plastic very thinly gold plated tip and wears out super fast even though it just sits there. The ends, don't even mess with them they are a waste of time and money and VERY cheaply made. This kit is cheaper than what you will probably find at your local stores but in this case you probably aren't even gettting what you paid for. The power/hot wire seems to be alright but with my other Boss equipment ( i bought an amp and this kit together) I'm not sure I'd trust the ratings. I'd look else where and took the time to write this review in hopes that you do.

Basically nothing special about it. it gives you what you need and performs without issues. everything is here and ready to be used! i bought this for an 8 gauge system but got this just to be safe. only con is that the power cable is red and sticks out like none other, along with the audio cable. but no complaints. it does its job

First of all I've seen a lot of people say this wire is not the right gauge, wrong.. It is 4 gauge, measure it with a ruler if you don't believe me. Everything in this kit is perfect except the speaker wire, fine wire however for woofers I prefer thicker gauge (though the speaker wire that comes with will work perfectly). Other then that great kit, exactly what is says it is and comes with, plus a bunch of extra grommets and accessory parts most of which I didn't even need.

this amp kit does the job and the power and ground wires are thick enough..i could have used about an extra 4 feet of wires for each but the ground is beyonddddddd short and thats the only dislike of this amp kit

I was suckered into buying this kit on Amazon after seeing the high prices at Best Buy for the same components. I just finished installing a complete sound system in my car yesterday with all items I bought off Amazon, so it would have been stupid to buy a kit like this elsewhere.

First of all, This set is probably more than likely 8 gauge. Also, I was very disappointed on how "Low Quality" the cables were, especially the red power cable. When I was "stripping" the cables, I was applying barely any pressure with the stripping pliers I was loosing and I was loosing numerous wires out of the strand. I had to re-cut the cable 3 times. Next, it is definitely not a flush fit from the power cable to the fuse component, on both sides of it. There was definitely a gap, which I was not happy about.

But the part that really earked me was the wire connectors. NOT ONE SINGLE CONNECTOR FIT CORRECTLY ONTO THE WIRES.they were either too big or too small. I had to go down to AutoZone and spend another $6 on various connectors. Also, the connectors that were in the kit would not even clear the diameter of the screws on my amplifier.

Ofcourse this kit says "made in China" on the back, which yields yields the incorrect wire sizes in the box.

If you are looking for an installation kit like this, please try and find a better quality one on Amazon or consult somewhere else. But all the other components I bought on Amazon for my system work great! - Amp - Amplifier - Amplifier Wiring Kits - Amp Kit'

Complete Crap - green laser, green

I too thought that a green laser pointer for under twenty bucks was a great deal and worth a try. Unfortunately the quality of these lasers is dreadful. I had a experience similar to other posters, where the unit would intermittently shine from high to low. The intensity of the beam is all over the place, and mostly dull with a rang of only a few feet. This unit does not perform, even with new batteries. You might get lucky and get a good one, but mine was broken right out of the box. Save yourself the trouble and hassle of a return and a customer service nightmare and find a different brand/company. 30mW Green Laser with 5 Changeable Pattern Heads

Ok, this is for all of you who have purchased this laser only to find that it dies shortly after a few uses, or that the beam becomes very dim and unreliable.

The whole problem with these lasers is the fact that you're not getting the stated wattage.

It is illegal in the United States for anybody to sell a laser that is over 5mw (milliwatts) unless you are military and have a license under government contract to do so. The lasers you see for sale here on Amazon and other sites on the Internet are lasers that have been modified for higher output. They take a legal 5mw pen laser, remove the actual laser pod from the body, and crank up the voltage of the diode to a higher level. This is called a "P.O.T. Mod", and while it does make the laser brighter, it also significantly reduces the lasers lifespan by eventually destroying the diode. All of these diode's are of different quality from laser to laser....some may last a few months and some a few days. They also remove the factory UV filter in the lens of these lasers so that the beam will appear even brighter, which is very dangerous for your eyes.

Now they state that the voltage of these lasers are 30mw, which is true for about the first 1 or 2 milliseconds the unit is turned on, and then it drops to around 10 or 15mw, which is why they can advertise the higher wattage. Sure you're getting 50mw, but for a fraction of a second. Now to give you an idea of what a real 30mw laser can do...a real laser of this power would have so much power that it would light a match head on fire, burn a hole in a black plastic garbage bag, and even burn your skin. Real lasers of this power are extremely dangerous and illegal. So, what you are paying for is not a true 30mw laser because if it was, Amazon would face serious legal issues for offering them for sale. In fact Ebay has removed all listings of any laser that states a wattage of higher than 5mw, and I am very surprised that Amazon has not jumped on the legal band wagon. I have personally taken a cheap legal 5mw laser and modded it for higher output, and tried to use it to detect shadows for paranormal investigation, and after an hour of use it became dangerously hot and gave me 3rd degree burns on the tips of 3 of my fingers. I highly suggest staying away from all these modified lasers, as they are dangerous, and new laws are in the works to keep them out of the U.S. market entirely as you read this. Laser stands for "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation", and just remember this when your buying one...it's radiation you're seeing, not actual light, so keep this in mind when looking at it!

You can go ahead and buy one, but don't expect even close to stated wattage, or expect it to last very long under frequent use! I owned about 8 of these until I learned my lesson, and none of them lasted more that a month with everyday use. You can get actual military grade lasers that are of good quality for around $50-$150 from sellers in China...just do a google search...but be extremely careful...a guy in Spokane, WA. who pointed one at an airplane last year, was arrested by the F.B.I. weeks later!

I bought two of these lasers. The variety of star lens has a much more cooler unique affect than the whole basic boring star lens that is sold in only one star lens. The five sets of caps just makes it more exciting. The affects that you see in the pics are exactly what you will see. I will recommend you to see it in person. I am in the process of buying two more!

If you are like me, you are looking at all of the green lasers here on Amazon and trying to get the one that is really bright and not a hunk of garbage!

Well, I just got this in the mail today and it is PERFECT!! I am VERY impressed by the construction of this laser and it is SOOOO bright! I can't imagine any laser being brighter than this one.

I would have paid $50 for this laser. Gonna buy another one right now!

This is the one.

I bought this product mainly to help me with my power point presentations. The power and the green color makes this type of laser ideal for large rooms and bright projectors. And in fact, the laser worked very well for a couple of times. The changeable grids (which make for really cool "holographic" images) are a great add-on, and worked nicely the few times I used it.

However, about the third time I tried to use it during a very important presentation, the laser died. I replaced the battery, but the performance was atrocious (the beam was tiny, almost invisible). After that, tt never worked properly again. I think it probably worked for a as long as the batteries lasted.

I have seen several reviews of similar products with the same problem: you use the laser for some amount of time, and then it dies. This product was not different, and its lifetime was probably on the low end of this type of laser pointer.

So, the bottom line is: if you depend on these pointers, spend more $$$ on a more long-lived, higher-quality product. If you just want to play with your kids one night and throw it away the next day, it could work for you. - Laser - Green - Laser Pointer - Green Laser'

Jack Sparrow - black, skullcandy

Note: These have an excellent, no-hassle warranty. Skullcandy will replace them for any reason, whenever - just go to their website, register your product, and fill out the warranty form.

Firstly, I want to mention a few important tidbits that I think you should know.

1. Pay attention to the L and R on these earbuds, which can be hard to see. Do not reverse them, as doing so can affect fit and sound quality.

2. Don't assume you know which gel size will fit you best; make sure you try on all 3 gel sizes that come with these, as using the wrong size can dramatically decrease sound quality and comfort. For myself, I automatically went with the smallest size because my ears are small, but those made the earbuds sound like cheap garbage. It wasn't until I tried the next size up did I get the full quality of sound that these are designed for. So pay attention to this, since it really matters.

3. These have a straight plug, not an L-shaped plug. So you will need to be extra careful as a straight-plug design increases the amount of pressure both on the plug, and the headphone jack of your player. This leads to frayed wires or a loosening of the headphone jack, or both, which ultimately lead to the classic problem of only one side having sound.

4. The cord is long - measures approximately 4 feet, 5 inches.

5. Burn-in works with these. Slightly.

Now, as for the build quality - I'm impressed. They are not cheaply made ear-buds, despite their low price. The wires are nice and solid, and feel very well made - not flimsy or plastic-y. The silicone gels (tips that go in your ear) are very soft and pliable, and even have the Skullcandy logo engraved on them. Nice touch.

They feel good, too. Really good. Both the material, and the way they fit my annoyingly small ears. And they don't fall out constantly, although I do sometimes get the sensation that it's getting sucked into my left ear.

And yes, these come with 3 different size gels.

Sound is great. These handle bass extremely well for mid-tier earbuds, and highs aren't so shrill and piercing as with other comparable brands. Some of this really depends on your player, too. Even between iPods, sound quality does differ.

As far as functionality goes, I find I am able to run with these with no problem. The wires do not get tangled, and you can easily adjust the split in them with an attached slider (that has 'Skullcandy' written on it in the corresponding colour), which I find very convenient. I do not hear this thumping sound that others claim to hear from wire-movement, so I can't confirm that.

The only things I dislike are the straight plug, and the lack of a case. Otherwise, I am thoroughly impressed with Skullcandy. The craftsmanship, the quality of sound, and all the little extras that Skullcandy does that really lets you know that they are paying attention, and that they care about their products and end-users.

Worth every penny. Skullcandy INK'd Earbuds S2INCZ-036 (Green)

Purchased the headphones about a week ago and I'm very pleased. I previously had the JVC Marshmallows and loved those headphones, but one of the earbud sleeves came off and the new JVC's are designed differently so I decided to give these a try. They produce very clear sound with solid bass. I was also surprised by the fit on the silicon caps that come with these. I have a difficult time finding silicon caps that will stay in my ear so I usually stick to foam, but these headphones came with three different sizes of caps and the smallest size fits and stays in without a problem. I will also say that I bought the Comply Foam Tips recently and am currently using those on these headphones (since I already had them) but once these wear out then I will stick with the silicon tips that came with these headphones because they will probably last longer. All in all, great purchase!

I purchased my Skullcandy Ink'd ear buds almost two years ago, and now that I need to lay them to rest I thought I would write a review on them.

First off, don't think that they are cheaply made because mine broke. From what I have been reading, two years is a good deal of time to have working headphones, especially at the low price of under 20 bucks! If I have to say, I provably contributed to the heavy wear of the jack that plugs into my computer (it is in the front of my laptop, so when the computer slides close to my lap the jack gets pinched).

Construction:

--

Being my first pair of non-stock earphones, I don't really have much to say in terms of construction, but as previously mentioned they lasted a helluva long time, so that should carry some weight. Speaking of weight, these buds feel light, but not so much that they feel cheap. Even after a couple of years the wires are intact, and I have had no problems with them up until a couple days ago (one ear bud stopped working, probably due to abuse). The only problem I would say has carried any weight in this department has to be the the fact that the rubber coated wires make a noticable sound through the buds when tapped or rustled (almost sounds like a heartbeat). This could probably be fixed with some comply foam tips instead of the stock silicone ones.

Sound Quality:

--

I listen to a variety of music genres through these things, and I can safely say that the sound quality is great across the spectrum. Anything from the highs and mids from classical to the deep undulating bass from dub-step can be heard clearly. They might not hold in a battle against some $100+ buds, but for this price they are awesome.

All in all, I am rating the Ink'd buds a 4/5, only because of the sound producing wires (see 'Construction'). If I could give it a 4.5 I would. - Green - Skullcandy - Black - Headphones'

Ipad 2 Case

I bought this case after first seeing photos of it on CNET. It has a slim form factor that exposes the beauty of the iPad's aluminum and glass design but yet also provides sufficient front, back and side protection for the device. It fits the device perfectly, and the camera is centered perfectly in the camera cutout hole on the back of the case when installed properly. (I don't know what another reviewer was complaining about poor fit. Maybe he was attempting to install a first generation iPad into this iPad2 case.) This case folds into multiple of positions allowing you to use your iPad in a variety of ways. What the pictures don't show is that you can fold the case in even one lower position to allow for typing. In this position, the iPad is elevated about 1 inch in the back, allowing for a comfortable typing position. Other cases I previously owned for my old first gen. iPad were elevated too high in back when in the typing position, leading to aching wrists when typing for only a short period of time. What the photos also don't show is that you can fold the cover back (kind of like folding back a spiral bound notebook) to make the iPad in the case completely flat. I also like the light blue on black color scheme and find it to be sufficiently masculine for my tastes. I bought an Apple Smart Cover which hasn't arrived yet, but after reading comments online to the effect that the Smart Cover leaves scratches on the side of the iPad where it attaches, I will be returning it upon receipt. A case should protect from scratches, not add scratches. I highly recommend the Targus VuScape protective cover/stand. Targus VuScape Protective Cover/Stand for Apple iPad 2 - 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, WiFi and WiFi + 3G THZ044US (Black/Blue Interior)

I've been very happy with this case. Here's why...

PROS

-Fits like a glove: The iPad slides in and stays secure. It doesn't slide out at all and remains steady when resting in the viewing grooves

-Protection: Covers the front and back without adding a ton of bulk to the device overall

-Look/feel: Feels sturdy and looks classic. Pretty slim overall too

-Button / Speaker Access: This case lets you easily access the side buttons and does not block the speaker at all. The iPad 1 had buttons on the side and a speaker on the bottom of the frame. Since Apple moved the buttons and speaker to essentially the back of the device, you need to make sure you can access them without peeling back the side of the case

-Price: $39.99 is as good as it gets in this field. Same price as a Smart Cover but protects the back of your iPad and does not leave streak marks on the screen, like Apple's Smart Covers do

CONS

-Color: this is a personal thing but I wish the inside was black too instead of blue, but again that's just me

-No Magnets: would have been nice to have since it's a cool new trick but doesn't make a big difference in the end. I knew this before I bought it so I'm not knocking the case but just saying

No other cons but ONE CLARIFICATION based on other reviews I've seen: Some people have complained that two of the corners do not stay tight on their iPad. This is because they are NOT supposed to. The bottom of the iPad must be free to swing out and fit into the grooves for viewing angles. Those corners are just there to protect the corners of your iPad when the case is closed. The iPad does not slide out of the top grips that do hold it in. Those work just fine.

Overall, I think it's a great case. I was originally looking at the incase Book Jacket but this one has much better button / speaker access and is a bit thinner too. I definitely recommend it to others.

In my 1 week of use, I really do like it. It meets my needs for protection and versatility. It feels good and sturdy; it props the screen up well for viewing movies on an airplane flight I took, and when folding the cover back behind the ipad itself for lap use, the material that is used to protect the inside grips well on clothing to hold pad steady. I felt confident that the ipad would be protected when I put it into my computer bag. I'm not sure how long those edge nubs will hold the pad in place, but in my opinion, I believe they will last reasonably well. I'll update my comments if I have any problems over time. So I'll keep this cover, I'm real happy with it so far.

I've had the case for a few days. Small and compact yet provides the protection I wanted in a case. The bottom clamps in lose by design so the unit easily comes out to the built in tilt positions. Sometimes the unit will slip from the tilt slots if you are holding the case in your hand vs setting up on a flat surface. This lose fit on the bottom is by design not a flaw. Overall a good value for the money. Also handled by Best Buy.

Bought this case before the new Ipad was released and I must admit it really surprised me. Works great as a stand but what's even better its very thin and light. It does not cover up the screen with annoying brackets and with the price its definitely better than the smart cover Apple offers since it actually protects your device. Also very easy to remove your ipad in and out of the case.'

Long Battery Life - hp laptop battery, extended battery

When the battery in my HP dv6000 started acting up, I checked out my options for a replacement. There are hundreds of different batteries to choose from! Which one do you get! The prices ranged from $20 to $200! After much research, I am totally confident I purchased the best battery I could get for my notebook and at quite possibly the best price it is offered. Don't be taken in by anything cheaper, check the reviews.

This battery is almost completely identical to the one HP gives with the notebook itself. It fits perfectly, and even out-performs my original battery! I can go about 6 hours plus of constant work on this notebook without a charge now! Definitely the one to buy. You won't be disappointed. Super High Capacity High Quality Li-ion Battery [8800MAH 12 Cells] For HP Compaq Presario V3000 V6000 Series Pavilion DV2000 DV2084EA DV2130US DV2500 DV6000 DV6100 DV6174 DV6200 DV6500 Series, Laptop Main Battery

I purchased this battery to replace the original 6-cell battery that came with my (now) nearly three-year old HP Pavilion dv2000 laptop. Unfortunately the battery was dead on arrival, my laptop wouldn't even recognize the battery was attached. It simply read, "No battery is detected." It wasn't a matter of compatibility as it fit perfectly, it just simply didn't work.

Most of the reviews here have been positive, which is why I ordered the product. I guess I just had a bit of bad luck. I see another recent review (posted four days ago) stated that theirs arrived DOA as well, so maybe manufacturing turned out a bad batch. Who knows.

If you choose to order one I hope you have better luck than I, you probably will. Still wanted to write up a brief review to explain my experience before my battery is boxed up and returned to Amazon for a refund.

To start off, this battery fits perfectly in my HP Pavillion dv6830us 15.4" Widescreen laptop. My original battery (6 cell) was about 85% dead which lasted about 30 mins on power savor. With this new 12 cell battery, the battery lasted for at least 7 hours.

My laptop specs are:

Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 @ 1.83GHz (uses 35 watts,

Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit,

3 gig ram,

250 gig 5400 RPM hard drive,

Intel X3100 intergrated graphics.

My Advance settings in the power options for "power savor" under the Processor Power Management tab is 1% for Min. Processor State on battery and 5% for Max. Processor State on battery. This is how I can get more in the battery. Overall this battery is great and long lasting. If you look at your origninal battery that came with your laptop, you should see two model names next to in white "FOR USE WITH HP SERIES" then for example "HSTNN-W20C, HSTNN-Q21C"(This is what it says on mines. Yours will be the same or different.) Well I searched for "HSTNN-Q21C", and I came across this battery. I decided to give it a go, so I bought it. It worked perfectly fine even though only one model name, "HSTNN-Q21C" matched the product title. It's well packaged in a static bag inside a cardboard box. It comes with a Warranty Card, Insurance Card, Instruction Manual, and Battery FAQ. Overall, this is a great buy, and I would recommend you to get this if it matches your battery model.

Well, again, after much review reading, I decided on buying this battery.

I have an HP Pavilion dv2000 series laptop, and my original battery started to malfunction.

I liked the idea of getting a "higher" capacity battery now that I needed to buy one anyways.

Well, first thing that I notice (as some of the other reviewers) is that the battery is, in fact, double the size of a normal battery. For anyone who doesn't know this, this is normal, this is the way is suppose to be, double the cells, double the size. I like the design because the laptop now stands an inch from the ground and the air flows in such a way that I even feel it doesn't heat the same way as before.

Anyways, as for performance, I've been timing this thing and it's going on its second hour (on High Performance mode) when, before, it only lasted between 40 minutes to an hour (tops).

I've been seeing TV on it and installing software and its still going strong.

I'll update this if anything noteworthy comes up.

Overall, very happy with purchase.

The battery arrived properly packaged in anti-static material, then in a sturdy box. I looked up recommendations online as to how to break in a new battery, and found that many recommended a few full charging and discharging cycles. I saw power retention rise from an initial 2 hours, to about 5 hours currently. My HP DV6000 series laptop easily recognized the battery, and the fit with the mounting is excellent. I have no issues with the added weight since I do understand that high-capacity means essentially fusing together two regular batteries in order to achieve the extended power delivery. Overall, an excellent value, so far. I'm hoping that this unit will outlast my original battery as well. - Hp Laptop Battery - Long Battery Life - Extended Battery - Dv6000'

Corded Phone - trimline, corded phone

I noticed on another review that they couldn't get the phone to work on a wall mount because it would slide off. Note that this is NOT TRUE. There is a small plastic piece on the area that depresses the hang up switch on the base. You have to remove this and flip it upside down, making sure the small tab is nearest to the front. I have it hanging on my kitchen wall and it works great.

One thing to keep in mind that the cable is one long cable that goes through the base to the wall and attaches inside the phone. You cannot replace it, there is no jack on the handset end. If you want a longer coiled phone cable for the handset you are out of luck. The base is cheap, it is just molded plastic and is extremely light. If you want a cheap phone for occasional use, it works well. I would not buy this for an everyday device. Uniden White Slimline Corded Phone (Slim1100)

DON'T BUY this phone if you want to hang it on the wall. I was looking for a phone to hang on a wall to cover a phone box, but the receiver on this phone won't stay on the wall. I had to take a rubberband and put it around the base of the phone and the receiver to keep it from falling to the floor. - Slimline - Corded Phone - Trimline'

Canon Eos - canon eos, photography

I've taken photos and video most of my life, now I am the typical father paparazzi, my subjects are my family, with some nature landscapes and city architecture mixed in.

First this camera replaced my original capture the moment kit, which included a Nikon D80 DLSR and a Samsung HD-1010 Digital Video Camera. I sold them both after owning this for a week. They are simply not needed anymore. It's very nice to be able to go to my kid's soccer games and not look like I am bringing a production crew. One camera for killer photos and video. I use this camera 70/30 photos/video, and it is just a pleasure to work with.

What I like for photography:

Excellent pictures - Even with the stock 18-135 lens, solid photos, great details, and very very crop-able. Yes this is not an L Lens but it is still very good

Low light performance - The ISO high iso speeds work well when you can't use a flash, there is still some noise but its manageable, the default setting for upper end iso is 3200, so that tells you how confident Canon is with its camera's ability to handle noise.

Solid camera (my friend has the 7D, there is a difference when handling them, but not much, all the talk of metal vs. plastic frame I think is overrated)

Very fast focus, yes its not the 32 point next gen autofocus, but in all my tests when not using live view it does just fine transitioning between focus points.

Fast shooting speed almost 6 fps is very good, and thought 3 fps was good. (I also like the 2 settings for shooting speed, normal and high speed)

Built in Wireless flash control. I also bought the 430EX II, and 3 button pushes later I had the speed light firing while it sat off camera behind the subject, and that is very cool

Great Canon Software (I use a Mac, and I love the USB interface software, you can completely control the camera from your computer

Custom Shooting mode - Exact what it sounds like, its nice touch

The flip out rotating screen is very sharp, probably one of the best I've seen on a DSLR. I don't shoot much live view though.

It uses SD, only because I had plenty of SD cards from my last two devices.

What I don't like photography:

The lock button on the mode selector, it turns changing the shoot mode into a 2 handed operation

The lack of dedicated buttons - I know they had to save space when they added the vari-screen, but I liked having quick one touch access to bracketing on my Nikon

This isn't a "don't like" it's more "I could do without" all the preset modes on the wheel. People who are going to spend $1000+ on a camera most likely don't need a preset called landscape or portrait. Maybe they were trying to fill the space on the wheel?

Also all this hupla about in camera processing and special effects, it seems a bit gimmicky to me. I have a plenty of Macs with big beautiful screens to do this, heck I could do it with an iPad now if I really wanted to. I can't see someone trying to color correct on the camera especially since it's not like you could transmit the edited file directly from the camera, it still has to go through a computer somewhere along the line. These might be useful if my camera came with built-in 3G or something, otherwise not so much.

What I like video:

Video performance is excellent, head over to vimeo.com and look at all the sample footage, it is just astounding. I've experimented with the 50/1.8 lens and wow the DoF is crisp in the video. You would need some expensive lens adapters to get these results with a camcorder.

The flip out screen! This is main reason I bought this camera, It never made sense to me how I could shoot proper video without those expensive view finder liveview converter things. Plus I thought they looked silly. Now with this, I hold the camera at just above waist level close to my body with the screen flipped out and up, it makes for stable video and relatively easy manual focus if you want to use it.

Manual controls are also very useful for video, you can control everything from the image to the audio via manual controls

What I don't like video:

Noise at high ISO - With the stock lens 18-135 IS I do not recommend low light shooting, it will work, but its very noisy - just like photography better lenes with lower F-stops = better output.

Autofocus is a bit slow (I try not use the autofocus when actually recording, I usually shoot video with manual focus, its not that hard when you get the hang of it)

So that's it, a solid DSLR with a solid video camera built in, I would recommend this camera to people like me, who understand and love photography and also love shooting video. People who can use manual controls but you don't mind throwing it in program mode for the quick shots and you can't justify spending the extra money on a 7D. I am very very happy with this camera! Leica Lens - wide angle

I upgraded from the Z3 and this is my 3rd Lumix camera. I am a insurance adjuster and take over 300 pictures per day and these cameras get alot of heavy work and is constantly used in conditions that is not the average user. What I wanted most from a work camera, was the ability to zoom in and the wide angle. I take alot of photos on roofs where damages have occured and the ability of this camera to do those things, is unsurpassed. The old one had a 12x zoom which I thought was great, until I used this 16x zoom. Quite amazing to say the least. With your typical camera of this size, you might get a 5 zoom and you will just not believe the difference with this 16 zoom. Next would be the 24 wide angle aspect. Again, quite amazing. I can stand 25 feet in front of a house and get the whole house in the photo. With typical cameras, you would have to stand across the street.

Next would be the picture quaility. Absolutely great as well. Clear, crisp, perfect lighting and on and on.

Easy to use and set the settings as well.

Although a little more pricey than most, it is soooo worth it!!!

Take a chance on this one, if you are unsure. You will NOT be dissapointed!! Love it! Love it! Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS8 14.1 MP Digital Camera with 16x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3.0-Inch LCD (Silver)

First and foremost, this is easy to use and takes great pictures.

I've carried a predecessor to this camera, the TZ5, regularly including while running. That's moving to a dedicated application and I wanted to take advantage of the additional zoom Panasonic offers for my "daily" camera. There are smaller, lighter cameras but this is the best combination with the longer zoom, everything smaller stops at about 5X. This has an optical 16X and a very effective 20X. The macro mode gives crisp, incredible close ups.

A friend recently took his digital SLR and three lenses on a trip to Hawaii and ended up taking pictures with his cell phone because he didn't want to haul any of the photo gear on his touring. "The best camera is the one you have with you." This is easy to carry, even in a back pocket. It is too heavy for a front shirt pocket, but it's OK in a jacket pocket. I keep mine in an Amphipod model 670 Ballistic Trail Pouch which also has a belt loop if I want to use it and is large enough to hold a spare battery, though the battery life is fine in normal use.

This isn't quite a "point and shoot" but it's close enough when the dial is set to "i" or "intelligent" mode where it figures out everything for you. You just have to know to set it to the "i" setting if that's how you want it to work.

My only beef with all these non SLR digitals is that even when set to scenery mode, where a fixed "infinite" focus would be fine, they still work to focus and there's no manual override. A small concern and only occasionally problematic, such as when trying to take a picture of the moon. You have to keep in mind that the flash falls off rapidly at about 10', but the images are good in limited light.

This has a very effective image stabilization system, but as you move over about 10X with any of these cameras you need to be conscious of trying to hold still.

If you want a utilitarian, easy to use, long zoom camera that takes terrific pictures, this is an excellent choice.

I ORIGINALLY BOUGHT THE KODAK M 580 EASY SHARE, TRYING TO SAVE A FEW BUCKS. I AM NO PHOTOGRAPHY BUFF, SO I THOUGHT FOR 119.99, THE KODAK WOULD BE A GOOD

OPTION. HOW WRONG I WAS. THE KODAK M 580 WAS AWFUL IN ALL ASPECTS. ENOUGH OF THAT. THE LUMIX ZS8 IS THE BEST CAMERA I HAVE EVER OWNED!!!!!!!!!!!! I WAS A

LITTLE SCARED OF THE STICKER PRICE, BUT I WAS SICK OF BUYING CAMERAS, SO I GAVE IT A SHOT. RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX, THIS CAMERA IMPRESSED ME. LOOKS VERY NICE,

FEELS WELL MADE. WITHIN A SECOND OF TURNING IT ON, I WAS SET TO START SNAPPING PICTURES. THE CAMERA IS VERY QUIET THROUGH ALL USES. I CANNOT EVEN HEAR THE

ZOOM WHEN IT GOES IN AND OUT!!!!!

THE INTELLIGENT AUTO OPTION IS INCREDIBLE!! FOR A NON TECHIE TYPE,

THIS CAMERA IS VERY EASY TO USE. THE OIS IS PHENOMINAL. I THINK IT WOULD HOLD STEADY DURING AN EARTHQUAKE!! EVEN AT MAX ZOOM, THE PICTURES COME OUT GREAT.

THE ZOOM IS AS ADVERTISED, INCLUDING THE ADDITIONAL DIGITAL ZOOM. THE LCD SCREEN IS LARGE, AND SHOWS GREAT PICTURES. I READ ONLY A FEW CRITIC REVIEWS, BUT

THE ZS8 LCD SCREEN WAS SAID TO BE INFERIOR TO ITS BIG BROTHER, THE ZS10. FOR A REGULAR JOE, THE ZS8 IS PERFECT. AS FAR AS CONTROLS, THEY ARE VERY WELL

PLACED AND NOT TOO COMPLICATED TO USE. THE ONLY THING I DO NOT LIKE IS THE ON/OFF SWITCH, WHICH SITS A LITTLE TALL. WHEN I PUT IT IN THE CASE, I KEPT

CATCHING IT WITH THE ZIPPER. BUT I JUST PUT THE CAMERA IN THE OPPOSITE WAY. BUT A GREAT THING IS THE CAMERA GOES TO SLEEP MODE IN A SHORT TIME. THE VIDEO

RECORDER WORKS VERY WELL, AND I CANNOT NOTICE ANY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS AND A TRUE CAMCORDER. ALL IN ALL, THIS CAMERA IS UNBEATABLE. PHOTOS LOOK THE SAME

TAKEN OUTDOORS OR INDOORS, WITH NO LOSS OF QUALITY. EVEN PICTURES TAKEN IN A DARK ROOM COME OUT OUT GREAT. COMPARED TO ALL OTHER CAMERAS I HAVE HAD, THIS

IS WAY ABOVE THE REST. THE PRICE MAY SEEM HIGH, BUT YOU WILL BE IMPRESSED WITH THE QUALITY OF THE CAMERA AND THE QUALITY OF THE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS. I WOULD

RECOMMEND THIS CAMERA FOR ANYONE WHO DOES NOT WANT TO BUY ANOTHER CAMERA FOR 10 YEARS. EVERYTHING PANASONIC SAYS IT WILL DO, IT DOES. WORTH EVERY

PENNY!!!!!! - Wide Angle'

Blank Dvd Media

I have had 100% success burning both data and video formats with this media at 4X using:

Sony Optiarc AD-7170A (firmware version 1.O4 supports this media at 4X, 6X, 8X, 12X, 16X)

Plextor PX-708A (firmware 1.11 supports this media at 2.4X, 4X, 8X)

LG GSA-T11N (firmware A104 supports this media at 4X only but can do 8X with other comparable media)

NEC ND-3500AG (firmware 2.TB supports this media at 2.4X, 4X but can do 8X with other comparable media)

As you can see, some of my older drives won't support faster than 4X with this media. I'm a little surprised that my oldest (the Plextor) would support 8X, but I haven't bothered to try anything faster than 4X on any drive because I'm rarely in that much of a hurry.

My burns are generally more than 90% of disc capacity so I am almost always using most of the recordable surface. My success criteria is not just an error-free burn; I have verified several discs by reading them at max speed (on a different drive than the burner) and comparing against the original source.

For me, these are a great value. For people who prefer wider 8X and 16X compatibility, these are probably not a good choice. AmazonBasics 4.7 GB 16x DVD+R (100-Pack Spindle)

I have used two brands of 16x DVDs quite a bit, verbatim and amazonbasics, so those will be my basis for comparison. Both disks work in my macintosh superdrive. The amazon disks are thicker and not as attractive as the verbatim disks, but they are cheaper. The thickness is not a problem in drives with a tray, but macbook drives don't have a tray. You put the disks into the drive, and the drive pulls them into the laptop. The thicker disks make different noises inside the drive, as if the drive may have some difficulty with the extra thickness, but I don't know whether or not it's a cause for concern. While the amazon disks will burn on my mac, they will not burn in some drives whereas the verbatim disks have never failed to burn on any drive for me. Right now, I'm considering buying only the verbatim disks because a wider variety of drives is able to burn them.

Lastly, the verbatim disks are more attractive. So if you want to give the disks to a customer or as a gift, you might want to use the verbatim.

These are reasonable quality (My ADIP was AML-003-00) and produce low error rates (PIE/C2 etc, see: [...] in a Samsung S223Q (you know, one of the few DVD writers that can burn the cheap Memorex DVD+R DL discs effortlessly and without errors), with a smooth transfer test playback that scales linearly right up to 19X on the outer edge with no dropouts or retries. HOWEVER, in a weird throwback to the early part of this decade, Amazon ships each disk with not one but two relatively huge blocks of text printed on each disc: "Amazon Basics" with the swoosh thing, and "DVD+R 4.7GBG0 16X 120min RWDVD+R"). Pretty much all good quality discs that are not $1 store cake box items tend to use a slightly opaque printed overlay with a stencilled area spelling out these no doubt essential pieces of information on every single disc. This means that you can write anywhere on the surface of the disc without the redundant text getting in the way. Maybe to save costs, Amazon's discs have no opaque surface layer, the DVD is raw (and thus very shiny and reflective), and a big percentage of the writable surface is occupied with the pointless text outlined above. With just a little change to make the discs less ugly, Amazon would get five stars from me but I am reducing it to 3three for the bad design implementation.

I have used Fuji, Memorex, Maxell and now Amazon. I average 200+ movies per year. The Amazon are as good as the Maxell and Fuji and better than Memorex. So far I've not had any platters, but then I always use +R's and burn at 4x speed for best video quality. There is plenty of room on the disc to write your label. The packaging is well done. As for shipping Amazon double boxed. Since I live in the boonies, anytime I can purchase a good product and have it delivered to my door cheaper than going to town, I'll buy it.

Just went through my first spindle of these disks. According to the AML number they are Verbatim disks. Haven't had a coaster yet and decided to post a review while I ordered another spindle. Consistently great price and the best shipping.

Firstoff, I have burned about 600 of these with no coasters. I am using the default HP BD/DVD drive that came in my laptop, so no fancy burner is being used either.

The ID of my DVD+R's was AML-003-00 (the AML's are rated as very terrible on some websites, but my results show the complete opposite). I tested these against the extremely highly rated Verbatim DVD+R single layers, and they actually outperformed them in terms of errors per sector.

Here are the results from the tests:

AmazonBasics DVD+R (AML-003-00)

PI Errors (Should not exceed 280 maximum): Average 16.04, Maximum 160.6 (the relatively high maximum was a single spike, so I ignored it as a test error)

PI Failures (Should not exceed 32 maximum): Average 0.01, Maximum 12.2

These results surprised me greatly, as they are VERY GOOD for most discs, much less a BUDGET DVD+R.

Now for the Verbatim DVD+R (MCC003)

PI Errors (Should not exceed 280 maximum): Average 29.04, Maximum 360.1 (There were 2 single high spikes, the rest of the test was very good, and since there were only 2 spikes, I didnt pay it much heed, but I would like to test another Verbatim DVD again).

PI Failures (Should not exceed 32 maximum): Average 0.04, Maximum 14.4 (There was only 1 single high spike, so I ignored it. The rest of the data was fine).

Also tested the 'terrible' Memorex DVD+R's that everyone complains about (they got 3/5 stars on amazon):

Memorex DVD+R (CMC MAG M01)

PI Errors (Should not exceed 280 maximum): Average 21.02, Maximum 140.1

PI Failures (Should not exceed 32 maximum): Average 0.02, Maximum 12.1

So all 3 DVD's performed extremely well, especially considering they are 'low-cost alternative' brands, not top-of-the-line DVD's. If you want more info on ECC PI/PO checking/errors, check out MYCE. great info there. All testing was done with Nero CD/DVD speed.

I will buy more of these when I get the chance.'

Ipod Earbuds - earphones, ear buds

These were my fourth pair of earbuds and the most impressive I've owned. The wiring and connections are solid and reinforced. I've replaced earbuds when the wiring breaks or the sound volume becomes unequal.

I'm hard on earbuds. My workday starts late in the morning and lasts until late in the evening. I need to still be asleep when the gardeners come with their leaf blowers and weed whackers. Earbuds serve a dual purpose: they keep sound out and give me pleasant sounds to sleep by. Being a bit of an insomniac, my MP3 player helps me to fall asleep each night as well. This is tough on earphones.

I'm impressed with the construction of these buds. Stress points are well reinforced and unlikely to fail. But ruggedness isn't the primary reason for buying phones ... sound quality is.

These are second to none when it comes to sound quality. Bass is solid with no distortion. The midrange and highs are crisp and clear. I've listened to everything from hip-hop to classical and they have provided a superior listening experience.

The worst feature of these phones is that they have a straight plug into the media player instead of an angled plug. This makes it easier to accidently unplug the phones. At worst, a minor drawback. Also, the barrel of the buds is a bid longer than others. At first I thought this would be a problem with lying on a pillow, but it hasn't disturbed me at all.

These utterly dominate all the other earbuds I've owned, both in terms of construction quality and in terms of sound. Buy a pair with confidence - you can't go wrong. JBuds J2 Premium Hi-Fi Noise-Isolating Earbuds (Onyx Black)

I bought some earphones not too long ago from Radio Shack. They were the kind you press into the ear. They were awful. The sound was bad and they wouldn't stay in the ear at all.

The jbud j2 are also a kind that you press into the ear (stay in pretty well you you give them a small twist when inserting instead of just pushing them in.) It made me a little nervous, but the price wasn't bad and the reviews were all good, so, I decided to go ahead with the purchase. Amazon got them to me in less than a week and packaged them well.

The sound quality is very good. Some of my classic piano concertos just come to life with these.

The dynamic range may be a little too good. I like to listen to music before I go to bed and I would use the Samsung earphones that came with my player, and by the way they are very good for being the included earphones. Since it's right before bedtime, I'll turn my player's volume down to 2 or 3 (out of 30). The J2s when turned down that low on volume, the higher frequencies I can't hear like I could with the "cheap" earphones. Perhaps it's my hearing. This really isn't a complaint because when I turn the volume up to say 10, It (J2s) sounds fantastic.

The construction seems pretty good, but only time will tell for sure.

The noise canceling part of the earphones also works very well, if that's what you like. The Samsung earphones you could hear other people talking just fine and still listen to the music. J2's you cannot. That can be good or bad depending on the situation.

I may get another set for my son.

They are good,

Bryce

So I've ordered the Jbuds J-2 in Lambo Yellow on the day before Thanksgiving, and I got them earlier this past week. I've also tried three other sets of noise-isolating earbuds, namely the Creative EP-630 In-Ear Headphones, the V-MODA Bass Freq Earbuds - Bling Bling Black, and the JVC HAFX33A Marshmallow In-Ear Stereo Headphones (Blue). I'm trying to find a good set of noise-isolating earphones to use on a day-long bus trip I'm taking next month, and have tested them while studying in a laundromat (lots of noisy washers and dryers; my laundromat has study tables and wi-fi). Overall, I have liked the Jbuds J2 the best; here's my opinion on all four:

--The JVC Marshmallows had the worst sound quality of all four. They didn't sound very realistic, they were very tinny. I threw them out.

--The Creative earbuds produced very good sound quality, BUT the cord microphonics were too much (the cord was very rubbery, and you could hear it even with the slightest bump, so it was useless to walk with). I'm giving them away to someone else.

--The V-Moda earbuds also have very good sound quality, very little cord microphonics, and may very well have the best noise-isolation of all four; however, I felt they may have been a bit TOO bassy. This gives me somewhat of a headache when listening to something like Star People, so I don't use it for normal listening. But it may be the best option for the bus or laundromat.

--Overall, the Jbuds J2 have virtually no cord microphonics, and very good noise isolation (though slightly less than the V-Moda). Not too much bass, very balanced and the most realistic sound of all four that I've tried. They attenuate noise very well, but the V-Modas are very slightly better at that (which is why I'm giving these 4 stars instead of five).

So overall, if you like lots of bass, go with V-Moda; if you like the best balanced sound quality, go with these. But overall, I think that these are the best all-around. - Earphones - Ear Buds - Headphones - Jbuds'

Interconnects - cat5e, cat5

As you're already aware, this is an inexpensive Cat5 (Cat5e) networking cable. It works flawlessly. But most importantly, it is blue. If you are looking for a green cable, look elsewhere. Same deal with a gray cable. But if blue is what you are looking for, your search is over; this is obviously the cable that will solve all your networking problems. (Or at least the ones that can be solved with a networking cable.) 25-Foot Category 5e (Cat5e) CMR Ethernet Patch Cable (Blue)

While this is a nice cable and a good price, the pictures that Amazon posts (as of 12/11/2009) clearly show the proctective, anti-snag sleeves over the clip. This cable DOES NOT have those sleeves on it.

Since this cable will be run through walls and 80% of the time, sleeveless cables must be replaced, I feel that this was a poor purchase. Amazon needs to update their images and verify them and/or the seller needs to provide the correct pictures to Amazon. In either case, I feel cheated but the cable isn't worth the hassle of returning.

As far as a Cat5e patch cable, though, it does work as expected. - Computer Cables - Cat5 - Ethernet Cables - Cat5e'
