Home School Schedule - organization, home schooling

If you are a wife, mother, and home educator struggling to balance home, school, and family, this is the perfect book for you! Much more than a home organization handbook, "Homeschooling at the Speed of Life" could also be titled "Home Management for Real Life," because it is a complete guide to hospitable homemaking as well. The author, Marilyn Rockett, is like a homeschool version of Martha Stewart! However, she does not expect you to achieve a perfect magazine-quality home but to simply attain what is described as "functional neatness."

While "Homeschooling at the Speed of Life" is totally in tune with today's fast-paced lifestyle and modern households, this book shows that you don't have to be "Supermom" or "Mrs. Incredible" either! It is written in a friendly, gentle manner by a mentor mom who has "been there, done that" - thus reassuring readers that even though we're only human, we can still keep our lives organized without being a slave to our possessions.

"Homeschooling at the Speed of Life" provides an introduction to basic home management principles, common sense suggestions for clutter control and tackling those piles of papers, creative ideas for developing life skills in your children, encouraging ways to build relationships by using the home as a center for hospitality, and practical tips on how to keep organized records. Each of these diverse topics ties in to the theme of bringing order to your home while increasing productivity and decreasing stress.

"Homeschooling at the Speed of Life" is unique among organizational books in that it is Biblically-based and can be used as a devotional or Bible study. This could ideally be done with a group of friends who support each other's attempts to get their respective homes in order. At the end of each chapter you are prompted to stop, think, and reflect. There are Scripture references to look up, questions to discuss, practical exercises to reinforce what you just read, and thoughts to ponder. Don't just skip over these parts but take the opportunity to apply what you learn in each chapter to your own personal circumstances.

Upon reading this book, it was amazing to discover how like-minded the author and I are. Although we don't know each other and I had never read any of her works before, I was delighted to realize that Marilyn and I are kindred spirits who offer much of the same advice on home organization. She even intersperses inspirational quotations and Bible verses throughout the text just as I like to do. In fact, some of the quotes that she uses - and many similar ones - can be found in my book, "Learning for Life: Educational Words of Wisdom."

"Homeschooling at the Speed of Life" offers encouragement and practical advice for creating the peaceful and relaxed home that you long for. More importantly, it tells how to make wise use of the time that God has given you, so that you can enjoy being with your family without being preoccupied with things. Reading this book will have a calming effect on even the most harried homemaker. While de-cluttering your home with the help of this book, you can de-clutter your mind at the same time.

"Homeschooling at the Speed of Life" also includes a CD-ROM, which in itself is worth the price! The bonus disc contains the author's File-a-Plan organizing system with 32 useful forms. Choose which forms apply to your household and/or homeschool from titles such as: Attendance Record, Clean Room Chart, Daily Works, Grade/Goal Report, Health Record, High School Plan, High School Transcript, Individual Evaluation, Master Household Routine, Menu Minder, Standardized Achievement Test Record, Student Assignments, Study Plan, Subject or Unit Worksheet, Weakness/Strength Evaluation, Weekly Lesson Planner, etc. These will assist busy homeschool moms in keeping up with activities and records.

Some people need more help than others, but anyone can improve upon the organization of their homes and lives. "Homeschooling at the Speed of Life" has something for everyone, regardless of where you are in your homeschool journey. And no matter how organized you are, you are bound to gain some valuable insights from this book. "Homeschooling at the Speed of Life" would be an especially great gift for a new homeschool mom on how to run an organized homeschooling household. Even non-homeschoolers will be able to benefit from much of the advice in this book!

~Teri Ann Berg Olsen

Author of "Learning for Life: Educational Words of Wisdom" Homeschooling at the Speed of Life: Balancing Home, School, and Family in the Real World

When I heard that Marilyn's book was to be released in April, I came to Amazon immediately and ordered 3 of them. One for myself and one for each of my daughters. Although I am also a "graduated" home educator, my oldest daughter is homeschooling my 4 grandchildren and my youngest and her fiance' are also convicted to homeschool their future children.

When I received the books, I was delighted to see that not only is this a great book to get homeschoolers on the path to organizing their homes, but it is an ideal resource to help teach our young women how to run an organized homeschooling household.

I used Marilyn's "Timeminder" for years while I was teaching my children, but I am happy to see this updated system with forms on the included CD. I like the convenience of being able to use them on my computer or print them out to put in a notebook.

This book, with Marilyn's other resources available on her website, will show you how to change stressful chaos into an orderly environment and help you to relax as you teach your children at home.

It's also an excellent resource for Grandparents of homeschooled grandchildren, by the way!

One of the most practical books I've read in a long, long time! People mistakenly believe that the hardest part of homeschooling is the actual teaching time. To the contrary, I would love to just teach and then hire a maid, cook, and laundress! Squeezing it ALL into just 24 hours is what is most difficult for any mom.

Marilyn's book is different from other household management books I've read. Most of those books assume that your primary goal is keeping an efficient, orderly, immaculate home. As you keep your home clean, you somehow squeeze in your other motherly, wifely tasks. Marilyn reverses the priorities. Your responsibilites to your husband and children come first. But by maintaining an orderly home environment you can do a better job of ministering to and with them. There's no major guilt trip here to make your home ready at any moment in time for the inspectors from a Beautiful Home contest. Rather there is encouragement and lots of practical tips to help you become better organized to fulfill the specific roles God has called you to in this season of your life.

Marilyn writes in an easy-to-read, humorous manner. Reading it is like sitting down for a chat with a loving friend who has walked this path before you and wants to help you along the way.

Panasonic Plasma - 3d, high definition

The picture quality of this TV is simply excellent. Compared it with more expensive Panasonic "Infinite Black" G model and it's impossible to see the difference in real video content. You need to be in total darkness and have very high quality, low noise signal with large swatches of black and put them side to side to notice a slightly darker black in G models. Of course, just watching TV you will never think I wish blacks were deeper.

I've watched HD programs over the air, from blu-ray, Netflix from Roku, and from PC over HDMI. All modes 480/720/1080 progressive and interlaced displayed perfectly, and TV did a good job upscaling lower resolution to native 1080. No problems with motion, no blurring, no color fading or runoffs. TV does have a slightly lower moving picture resolution 900 lines (vs 1080 lines in top models), but it's quite impossible to notice that without measurements. So sports viewers will be satisfied. Also, on a positive side, the screen is not as glossy as the majority of other plasmas, so reflections are subdued.

I've been using this set for a few days now, so I can't comment on "image retention" problems that previous generations had. Supposedly the phosphors used in this set are improved from previous year, and reportedly they last longer. Just be sure you turn on the "pixel orbiter" to avoid burning in the logos and avoid prolonged display of static images. You can also run "scrolling bar" once a day for 15 minutes for the first week to age the phosphors evenly. Not all plasma owners believe a break-in period is necessary for the later generations of plasma TVs, and no plasma manufacturers now suggest their sets require break-in.

The description Amazon (and it looks now they removed it) seemed to suggest that TV had a built-in Wi-Fi. It doesn't, you need to buy a separate Wi-Fi USB adapter for that. Due to lack of adapter I cannot tell if IPTV and DLNA are working as expected. The other negative is common to all plasmas, which is high power consumption. You don't find this information advertised anywhere, because this set is rated at a whopping 339W. The built-in audio is weak, it has two tiny 10W speakers. It's fine for casual watching TV programs, but if you want to watch movies you probably want to invest in a separate audio system.

This TV may lack all the bells and features you can find in more advanced models, but it does deliver an excellent picture at a very reasonable price and that what matters most.

Edit 5-8-2011. I installed USB Wi-Fi adapter (Netgear N600) to test the Viera Tools. I didn't find them very useful though. It has Netflix client, but picture quality is poor (compared to Roku on the same network). Then there is CinemaNow, which I never used. Amazon Video on demand looks OK. I don't have any use for Pandora, Napster, or Facebook, so I can't comment. There is also Media Player for SD and USB cards, works pretty well. I popped in an SD card from Panasonic camcorder and picture was pretty good, no conversion was necessary. And finally, there is DLNA client, which I couldn't make to work. I does find the DLNA server, but connection always fails. Panasonic VIERA TC-P50S30 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV

I have only had this set for a few days now, still in the 200 hour break in period. With the occasional pumping back up the contrast and brightness to get an idea on how everything will really look once the 200 hour break in is over.

One thing that I like about the TV is the Matte finish on the screen. It still reflects, but I have had a sliding door without a drape over it for a couple days and the reflection, while there, was greatly reduced over my last set. Last set Mitsibushi, 54inch, rear projection HDTV. So the screen itself does well with reflections overall. Perhaps there are better.

I originally bought this for $999 at best buy. It's now $899 here at Amazon. 4 days after my purchase. GET IT!!!!

Picture Quality so far:

As I have said, I am breaking in. For those that don't know what this is, but it's what you SHOULD DO, you run the TV with no static images for up to 200 hours and the contrast and brightness turned down. My contrast is about 25. My brightness is about 45. Occasionally I have raised the contrast up to check movies or video games, but only up to 50 contrast, and brightness up to about 65. This will help prevent image retention/burn in and improve the lifetime of the tv and over all picture quality. I also did this with my rear projection as well, and never had burn in issues, even with video games. I hope this tv will not have much of a burn in problem. But the TV provides 2 things in addition to help that.

To prevent and or fix burn in, this tv gives you the ability to turn on your screen and that the screen will slowly move around and position itself so standing pixels will at least move. Such as those logos on video games, or games with HUDs, or bullet counts, or on screen maps in the bottom corner of the game. In addition to that, there is also a 15 minutes moving white bar pattern that is supposed to help remove burn in. I have tried it but since I don't have burn it, I can't tell you if it works.

I hooked up the XBox 360 with HDMI and as soon as I turned it on, I saw an immediate improvement over my last TV, which I still think is a good TV. But I got some WOW factor here. Small Text is amazingly crystal clear and readable. Everything just looked sharp and detailed. And this is just moving around the XBox Menus.

Watched the 2012 John Cusak end of the world movie over Netflix. WOW!!!! Again, my settings are far from optional, and the detail was amazing. LA slipping into the pacific never looked so good. All those little details. Grant it, the source material, the movie, is exceptional when it comes to computer generated imagery, but this set seems to really steps up to the challenge of reproducing it.

Refresh rate: 600Hz. <- this is the main reason I decided on Plasma. This helps make 2012 look amazing, and it also helps if you play video games or watch sports.

Then I played some Red Dead Redemption, just a bit. WOW!!!! factor again. The graphics are pretty good in this game. And I have played it quite a bit on the old tv. The old TV was Component Hook Ups and only 1080i max. Now with this Plasma, it's HDMI, and 1080p, which the XBox and Read Dead Redemption can support. Again, the details were amazing. Colors very nice. (remember, my settings are way below even normal). Very smooth camera turning. I was riding along, and the sun started coming up over the horizon. The stars were twinkling away. Then the first rays of light hit the ground. And the shadows were long, as the sun passed between tree branches. OMG!!! It looked really really good. What an upgrade. My old TV wasn't cheap, $2300 back in 2000. It could preform. But this Panasonic just rocks it out of the water.

Sound. The speakers are small on this. I suggest Bass +4, Treble +1. Adding a little more Bass to your sound output will fatten up the sound enough and not give you such a tinny sound. My optimal viewing will be through a sound system though.

I like the SD card feature and the hook ups. Will even take a Keyboard.

Tried the Network connection and used their version of NETFLIX in the Viera section. I found NETFLIX to be a little slow compared to the XBox 360 with Netflix. Slow when moving around the menus. But no biggie, the movies played just fine. Has Facebook and Twitter, but I don't plan on using those. The Network features I may not use much at all. But it's still pretty cool if you want options to do so.

This is an early review. I am giving the set 4 stars. Not for anything being wrong with it though. I have seen so few reviews for this particular set, about none, just thought I'd get this up there.

I have it on the supplied base unit. Easy to install. Heavyish though, but lift-able by one person.

I like this TV. Plasma was for the video games and sports viewing. But Plasma is more susceptible to burn in with video games and static scores and logos. So I am taking the time to break this tv in. But you should get some WOW factors if you purchase this TV. - Panasonic 50 Inch Plasma - 3d - High Definition - Plasma'

Kitchen Scale - kitchen scale, mail

Royal's ds3 scale works great for checking the weight of your outgoing mail and to help you calculate the correct postage with a handy chart. The hold button makes it easy to keep the weight displayed even after you take the package off the scale.

My only real complaint is that the packaging promises you access to updated charts on their website. After countless hours searching for it, and their horrible customer service contact form where I never got a response back I ended up going to the US postal web site and printing out my own form. Too bad Royal can't keep their end of the bargain by posting new rate charts for customers to print out on their web site.

[Update 8/19/09 - Royal has posted the updated postage charts on their website. See comments below for the URL.] Royal DS3 Postal Rate Scale (17012Y)

I have used this product for the past 8 months. This review is for a second one I bought recently for another office. Put the battery in, and read the weight. I use Postal Assistant from the USPS to print the labels for the packages that I weigh. I ship 3 to 4 small packages a week. This keeps me from making mistakes.

I really liked this little scale, until it suddenly stopped working after 3 months. I don't ship a lot of packages so I'd only used it about a dozen times altogether. Tried switching out the batteries with fresh ones and ones from a working flashlight - no luck. It just died.

Checking reviews for other scales by this company I see similar complaints. Too bad, because it was a nice product, while it worked.

If you go to the Royal site you can print a new chart, for some reason I had to go to firefox for the pop up to open, yes I have the pop up blocker off. On other sites I have the same problem with IE7.

You can mail first class with PayPal.

paypal dot c o m then you ad /us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_ship-now

This scale has saved me hours I just drop off the package no waiting and I have double checked the weight on the post office scales and they are the same. I love my Royal.

USPS also has a site that allows you to purchase online postage at a discount, if you have questions post a reply and I will answer.

THIS IS A TERRIFIC LITTLE SCALE AND HIGHLY ACCURATE. I HAD ONE THAT WENT ON THE FRITZ AND I LOOKED AT ALL OF THEM TO FIND THE NEXT ONE THAT I'D LIKE. THIS IS EASY TO USE, BUT PLEASE READ THE DIRECTIONS FIRST! I DIDN'T AND THOUGHT IT WAS BROKEN, WHEN IT WAS MY STUPIDITY THAT MADE IT MALFUNCTION. BUT TRULY A GREAT LITTLE SCALE AND A GREAT DEAL. LOVE IT.

I bought this scale at WalMart over four years ago. It was affordable and weighed accurately the whole time I've had it. The 9V battery is still working. My only reason for needing a new scale is that many of my packages weigh more than three pounds. When I get a new scale, I will keep this one for kitchen use. Great product! - Mail - Nutrition - Kitchen Scale - Postal'

Cordless - drill, cordless drill

I researched for a very long time when purchasing a new drill/driver after my 14v Craftsman NiCad died after a good 8 year run (!). I own some Dewalt, some Milwaukee and some Bosch tools. After reading a ton of reviews and looking at reviews of certain model's predecessors I narrowed it down to the Makita. This Makita replaces one in it's line up that was very well loved. This is my first Lithium Ion tool and so far have not been disappointed. I have used the drill every day driving 3 inch construction screws into oak supports for a carving commission I am working on and have yet to drain the battery. Have read complaints about the chuck having a "wobble". Yes, there is a bit of a wobble visible on the keyless chuck collar but the chuck jaws themselves are straight and true. All drill bits etc. are perfectly straight coming out of the jaws. So if you are more interested in the chuck collar being straight, you may be disappointed. I for one don't care about the collar just as long as all bits turn straight and true and that is not a problem. I was surprised at how small the tool looks and feels having not owned a "compact" drill driver before. I felt that for the price I should be getting a giant work-horse. But what you do get is a "compact" work-horse...hence the title "Compact Drill Driver" (sorry to be so redundant). The keyless chuck has a ratcheting feature which I know is now standard, but again is new to me. I definitely get a very secure feel on my non-hex bits. The L.E.D light is so bright and focussed I actually use it as a flash light after I turn off the shop lights and head back into the house. And as a side note it has this nice little dimmer feature that instead of just going off, it slowly dims after about 5 seconds of non-use...a simple and non-important feature, but lends to it's coolness and charm. I have read many reviews of Lithium Ion batteries not performing well in cold, and to that I can not speak. I do keep the case and additional battery in the mudroom of our house and do bring the drill in after use so it never sits out in subzero weather. I live in Wisconsin and we are regularly experiencing below freezing temps right now. So, yes, I am taking some precautions as to keeping the batteries in a moderate temp....so if you keep your tools in a truck or worksite that is subjected to freezing temps I can not offer an opinion. The case is sturdy and functional, and the charger does have a series of little tunes it plays when it is done charging....is it important; no, is it a bit cheesy; yes, is it kind of fun to run through the different tunes....sure. But, as someone else stated, they are about as good as a digital watch tune. The initial charge was longer that 15 minutes, but as I was not paying attention I can not say exactly how long. However, before I knew it the charger was playing it's tune. It was probably around 1/2 hour. Makita has always been an industry standard and I am very pleased with my purchase. It has a ton of power in a small light weight tool. If anything changes I will repost, but so far it has met and in some cases exceeded all of my expectations. Makita LXFD01CW 18-Volt Compact Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2-Inch Driver-Drill Kit

My friend has an earlier model of this drill and I really fell in love with it while doing a bathroom remodel, so I decided to order the updated model (LXFD01CW).

My drill came today and when I tested it with 3 brand new drill bits I did in fact notice a wobble in the chuck like a few other of the reviewers had noticed. Its a small wobble but definitely noticeable and INEXCUSABLE on a $200 dollar drill.

I am going to take a chance and send it back to AMAZON and see if I can get a replacement.

I will update when I get the replacement.

**UPDATE**

Received my replacement drill hoping the wobble issue would be solved....not the case. I tried MANY different drill bits however my replacement drill had the same annoying wobble as the first one. Its not a HUGE wobble but enough to notice and shouldn't happen on a $200 dollar drill.

Here is what I really like about the drill:

Weight...it is very light with very good torque

Grip...this drill feels wonderful in your hand...very balanced and very comfortable

Belt Clip...nice feature

Battery...very fast charge time (15 minute) however I'm not sure how long a charge would last.

Looks...over all this is a very good looking tool.

So...with all that said, I am going to return this drill and most likely go with a Bosch or DeWalt (probably a Bosch).

I hope this review helped and welcome any comments.

Just purchased this drill/driver and since it is so new to the marketplace none of us can really comment of it's longevity or wear characteristics, but based upon it's predecessor and first impressions, it is going to do just fine. It is a small, lightweight powerhouse that does what it says it does and does it better than anything else comparable. Even with Amazons current DeWalt promotion it matches the price with an arguably inferior product, no thanks. But then I have always preferred Makita to DeWalt from construction jobs to Industrial maintenance jobs. I guess the point of this review is that this Makita continues that legacy and does so well.

My critiques: A poorly designed but very well made case. (needs more and specific cord space and better compartments for accesories or needs to be smaller).

Melody selection on the charger could be at least as good as my daughters jewelry box.

The battery cover is weak and poorly fitting.

Other than that or perhaps in spite of that, I'm quite pleased.

I did alot of reading on cordless drills looking for something lightweight and powerful, I do cable splicing so weight was an important factor to me and this is the lightest 18V out there (my coworkers DeWalts weigh a ton next to this thing). Today I sent it back to amazon because it quit working, its a great drill in many ways, looks amazing, powerful, battery lasts a long time and charges quickly, lightweight and the belt clip is nice. But after 2 weeks of working outside in MN weather its shot, if I hit the trigger the flashlight comes on (which is useless by the by, it doesnt light the bit it lights right below it). Also it does have chuck wobble, my works not precise enough that it bothered me but forewarning to those of you who need to be right on, apparently some of these wobble and some don't. Thats my 2 cents, hope it can help you decide, I may have gotten a lemon, but I dont think I'll be going with Makita products again anytime soon. - Lithium Ion - 18 Volt - Cordless Drill - Drill'

Flooring Stapler

I installed 800+ feet of 3/8 engineered oak hardwood flooring using over 8000 staples, and the stapler worked perfectly. There were no miss-fires, and the stapler would not shoot a staple if I didn't have it lined up correctly - which is a huge plus, because I've used others in the past that would put a staple in the surface of the floor if you didn't have it placed on the tongue properly. Even if you're only going to install a few hundred square feet of flooring, this is worth buying because it costs about the same as renting a unit for 3 days, and it's brand new and not abused like most rental units are.

Also a HUGE plus with this stapler is that it uses 1/4" staples instead of the 3/16" staples that Bostich and the cheaper Bynford stapler use - and that will save you the cost of the unit on a larger project. I got 5,000 1/4" staples from amazon.com for $8.50 per box with no tax and free shipping. The local H**e D*p*t wanted $25.00 for 5,000 for the 3/16" staples. I used 3 boxes and that saved me over $50.00 alone.

Another PLUS is the ability to use multiple size staples, and not just 1" staples... and of course it can also be used as a brad nailer to install the shoe molding after you're done with the flooring... yet another cost savings... I haven't used it as a brad nailer yet since I already own a Bostich brad nailer.

This stapler has already made me much more money than I paid for it and the quality seems good, especially for the price. The only con I can think of is the instruction manual is very poor, and if your not very mechanically inclined, of haven't used a flooring stapler before, it's not real clear how to adjust the stapler for the flooring size. Once I got the stapler adjusted for my particular floor thickness - it worked perfect and lined up great and I was able to shoot staples as fast as I could move along the floor board.

Last thing - Bob at Woodworker Specialties was great in replying to my emails and questions. I would definitely purchase from them again even if they're price were higher (which they are not - they're lower). And fulfillment by amazon was another plus for me since I'm an amazon.com Prime member and got free 2 day shipping.

Buy this item with confidence - any issues will be resolved by amazon.com and Woodworker Specialties with just one email - so it's a no brainer in my mind BYNFORD HARDWOOD FLOORING STAPLER NAILER (Uses standard narrow crown staples such as Senco "L" etc)

Bynford Air Stapler made my job of installing Engineered Hard Wood Flooring in my home so much easier, did it in half the time compare to a regular Air Stapler. I tried using a regular Air Staple to save $$ prior to purchasing the Bynford Stapler, what a mistake that was. I would recommend this stapler to anyone installing Engineered Hard Wood Flooring. Great saving on the Bynford Brand agaist others.

I purchased 5/16" hardwood flooring and a manual "banger" nailer ($200, used) that was supposed to work even for this thin wood. It nailed the face, not the edge. I wish I bought this stapler first. Works great, easy to use, and when converted to the face nailer its works great as a woodwork nailer. At this price, even with a compressor it was much cheaper than any manual floor nailer. Only 2 shortcomings: 1) it's rated to take up to 1 1/2 inch nails, but the clip won't close with longer ones. And 2) changing from the 45 degree floor stapler to the straight brad nailer is too cumbersome to regularly switch back and forth. Overall I love the tool. I thought I'd sell the compressor and this after the floor project was done but it's a keeper.

I am almost done with 700 sq ft of 1/2" engineered flooring using 1 1/4" crown staples. It get's the job done, with my pancake compressor set at 90 psi. It is a little hard getting the staples into the gun, but have not had too many problems. Good for 1 or 2 jobs, but not a tool for regular use.

I purchased this stapler for one-time use to install oak manufactured hardwood flooring in a 12' x 20' family room. It performed perfectly and never misfired or jammed while stapling 3" wide flooring every 4 inches (around 3000 Senco staples.) The included tack head worked fine for the last 2 rows. It's not clear, long term, what oil to use; The instructions say 30 weight, the included oil was much lighter - I used the included oil.

FYI: When changing heads the instructions say to remove an "O-ring". The "O-ring" is tiny (perhaps 1/8 inch in diameter) and is used to secure a pin where you would expect to find a nut.

Overall, the instructions are sketchy, but it did the job.

I have to confirm the other reviews here. My son and I just installed 360 S.F. of 3/8" engineered wood with this stapler, without a single jam or misfire. I set up the base plate and penetration according to the manual, and my first two test staples were perfect using my 2 Gal. portable compressor. I also bought the 1" Senco staples 5000 pack, which was the right choice, since my local stores only seem to have Bostich staples, which are not recommended for this tool.

I can not say enough nice things about this product. The value is off the charts and beyond that it truly is a quality product. I used it to install 500 square feet of 3/8 thick Brazillian Walnut from Lumber Liquidators. It is not engineered ,but literally solid hardwood. This is the product you want for install.

I ordered the Bynford hardwood floor stapler to use for installing a bamboo floor up stairs. The directions needed a little more information but once you hook it to the air compressor and play with it a bit, you figure it out. It is light weight and easy to use. My husband and I loved using this product. It made the project much quicker. It saved us alot of money because we did not have to rent one. We could install the floor as quickly or slowly as we wanted without worring about a huge rental fee.'

Darya Trading - tuxedo, suits

I never bought a suit off the Internet before. I was also skeptical about the hefty (pre-discount) retail price assigned to this suit. But, "What the heck - give it a try ..." I did and I was very pleased with the quality and final sale price of the suit. It was nicely sewn, fine fabric and sized correctly. Presidential Suit Signature Collection Mens Suit Italian Super 140s Two Button Jacket Flat Front Pants Business Suit Jet Black (40 Regular)

ordered my suit online @ amazon. jacket fit perfectly, waist perfectly, paid $10 to hem the pants and clean up the tags. customer service was responsive even supplying links to buy a tie from somewhere else. would buy again in a heartbeat. thank you .

I bought this suit to alternative choice to Valentino imported by Darya Trade. I received the suit and it was just as good as the Valentino. It fit a lot better on me in size actually. The shoulder was a little bit more narrow than Valentino and wraps around nicely. I'll buy it again in the future.

This suit is very well made and new with all the tags attached. The wool feels very soft and the sizes are true as advertized. It is made as many italian suits with a slender fit more of an athletic fit. Very comfortable to wear. I am the man for whom the suit was purchased and it has a lining and stitching inside that looks like suits made in much higher price ranges. The only issue is the lapels stick out a bit and probably with some tayloring it will fit better. The suit seems big enough and fits very well otherwise. Thank you Darya! I would recommend this suit and company to anyone looking for a quality suit at a very, very reasonable price.

Well, I ordered 2 suits for my groom's men. This one and the presidential. I had to do this because they didn't have both the sizes i needed in the signature collection. When the suits came they were both the presidential suits. It was fine for me because i needed them to match as much as possible, so i was ok with the mix-up. Shipping was prompt also.

I actually regret having bought this piece given its low quality and horrendous feel. If you have had any suits in your lifetime, you would know a good/decent quality suit from this one. My review is based on my experience with my two current suits, a navy blue Jones New York, and a blue pin stripped Ralph Lauren. This suit does not feel at all like my two suits. This one feels cheaply made and the quality is what gets me the most: feels like it is made of cotton. If you wear this suit, you will find that it wrinkles very easily (unlike my two other suits) and gets dirty by anything. The only positive it has is that it black and does fit me (40 regular) but even that does not compare to a true quality suit.

Overall, I will not be using this suit for any important event such as recruiting events, dinners, or interviews. I will strictly use this suit for funerals or other events that do not require individuals to draw conclusions about the quality of my clothing or my presentation (job interviews are out!). I will use this if I am working at the office and don't care about my appearance so much.

Do yourself a favor and go to The Men's Warehouse or other similar stores and fork over the >$200 for a good quality suit that will last you for a lot longer that this suit would and for which you won't be ashamed to wear. I know that I won't be going out in broad daylight wearing this cheap suit.

It has the right drop, the cut was shapely but not to trim, the jacket has a nice hang and fits well across the shoulders, and the linen is good quality. The attention to detail is high with a high quality of construction, the stitching is excellent, and the hidden finishes are well done!!

This is the first review I have ever written, that should tell you how impressed I am with this product. Outstanding quality and recieved several compliments on the suit. Have no clue how they can make money selling this great item at such a low price!!! Thank you very much and I will own atleast 7 different styles by the same company by the end of this year. - Darya Trading - Suits - Tuxedo'

Men - men, socks

There's just enough sock there for the heel pad to be in the right place on my foot (9 1/2 Men's). So there's no way these will fit on someone with larger than a 10. They do stretch however, after some wear; but actually getting them on can be difficult. Just spend the extra money and buy the other ankle socks from Hanes. I thought these were the ones, but the more expensive ones are the socks that are comfortable. Hanes Classics Men's 6-pack Cushion Ankle Socks, Black, 6-12

Ok, so they're not 'dress socks', but I don't wear dress shoes. They go well with my boot style work shoes, and I don't have to worry about pulling my socks up. Cotton is soft and absorbs moisture. Hanes quality. Since I've used the white version with athletic shoes for years now, I know these will last.

I am very pleased with these socks - they are comfortable, nice and stretchy, substantial and attractive. I have wide feet and wear a size 8 in men's shoes. I wasn't sure I should buy these socks, based on the reviews others have written. If you wear a smaller size men's shoe then don't hesitate to buy these. I couldn't advise those who wear a larger size, however, I would say these socks are not "tiny". I am ordering more today because I like them so well!

These socks come up higher on my ankle than I expected. Also, by the end of the day the leave your feet covered in lint, even after being washed a couple of times. They are otherwise comfortable, though.

I purchased these and threw them in the wash when they arrived. No shrinkage and they are soft on the foot. The sock is also not loose (I hate it when my socks slide down or bunch up). I would have liked a little shorter rise on the ankle, but it is similar to the picture (I wear size 10.5US). Overall a good purchase.

These socks give me great joy as they fit extraordinarily well. They are neither too thick, nor are they too thin. In addition, there is no logo around the top band so they look just plain enough to be worn with a moderately-formal shoe if need be. These socks also hold up quite well surviving many wearings and washings. I have purchased this sock pack both for myself and recommended it to family members as well.

You've gotta love these socks. They are everyday socks for me, no muss, no fuss. Cheaper than the department store, free shipping, delivered to your doorstep to boot! It doesn't get too much better than this. - Men - Socks'

Iphone 4g Cases

You can see my other reviews to know that I buy A LOT of cases - it has became an addiction of sorts. With that said, I have often found Otterbox products to be the best of the best. (See my 5 star Otterbox iPhone 4 Defender review for proof!)

I received this item last Monday and I was anxiously awaiting installing it and giving it a go. Unfortunately my excitement quickly subsided. I hate to sound negative but this case leaves a lot to be desired. Below I will give you my unbiased thoughts on the case and its pros/cons.

Pros:

Much thinner than the Defender case

All ports are easily accessible

Lightweight

Cons:

The screen protector that it comes with is very sub-par, I've purchased several screen protectors in the past for both my iPhone(s) and other models, the one that came with the Otterbox ranks near (or at) the bottom of the list as far as quality build and ease of installation in avoiding air bubbles etc.

The case doesn't quite fit "right" sometimes the silicon case will come loose from around the lip of the phone and it will in turn cause the polycarbonate shell to shift and not only fit awkward but look horrible as well.

The cover for the audio out jack (headphone jack etc.) should have been designed better. It often protrudes from the case and just looks awkward.

In conclusion I would state that though the case isn't the worse (and 2 stars may be harsh) due to the price and quality expected from Otterbox it came up well short of expectations.

I will try to post pictures later showing this case next to a bare iPhone 4 and also next to the Defender case. OtterBox Commuter Case for AT&T and Verizon iPhone 4 (Zircon Blue/White)

Hi, I just got this case yesterday. It's the third one I've tried with my iPhone 4. Otterbox makes fine cases so I expected something nice and was not disappointed. I also had the Commuter and Defender cases for my iPhone 3Gs.

Here are some notes for you:

- The case provides the best protection of the three I've tried. The Apple bumper case is nice but the open back leaves a lot of glass exposed. This one gets the job done while not being too bulky.

- Compared to the iPhone 3Gs Commuter case this one exposes more of the hard plastic surface and less of the rubber. The plastic is textured nicely so gripping is still secure. In all fairness I think I do prefer the design of the 3G/3Gs version.

- The phone will connect (Yeah!) to my Magellan car mount and B&W speakers with this case. It would not connect with the thicker Apple bumper case. I'm also able to get other cables to connect to it that would not connect with the bumper case. The opening for the thirty pin connector is larger on the Otterbox case.

- Putting the screen protector on can be frustrating but I was mostly successful this time. Dust must be avoided at all cost while applying it. Hey Intel, can I use your clean room for a few minutes?

It's a good compromise between protection and bulk. If you had the 3G version you might be a little disappointed because the fit on this one doesn't seem quite as good.

Update (9/2/2010): The reviewer(s) that said the case can be uncomfortable on your ear while making calls was right. If you make a lot of calls this could be rather annoying. I'll post a picture or two of the offending sharp edge. I filed the edge on mine with my Leatherman to smooth it out. That helped a lot.

Regards,

John

This case exceeded my expectations i had after reading some of these peoples reviews. First of all, the fit is perfect. i dont know if maybe some of these people didnt put it on right (it takes a while to get it right) but mine fits snugly.second, It does not feel cheap. The plastic is not very thick but it doesnt need to be thick to protect, it is only there to hold the shape of the silicone. It is the perfect balance of protection and bulkiness.. I had a defender series for my 3gs and that thing felt like a brick.. this one feels just right, not to mention its a lot cheaper than the defender. If youre gonna be rock climbing or working at construction site, then theres no reson why you would want the defender over this case. The screen protector is pretty cool, i dont really see the point of it because the case sits in such way that your screen will not get scratched. i still put mine on and cant even tell its there.. I would highly recomend this case, and no i dont work for otterbox, im just a regular guy that really liked this product and i dont think the reviews on it are very accurate. Thanks!

Sadly, this is the first review I've written, because I've had such a bad experience with this case. I'm a big OtterBox fan, I had a Commuter on my previous 3GS, and a Defender for my old 3G which is now on my wife's S. Both of those cases are great and I don't have a negative thing to say about them.

I had such a good experience with the previous version of the Commuter, that I got one for my Iphone 4. Unlike other reviewers, I think the screen protector is great, the only reason I gave this case 2 stars instead of one. I've had several screen protectors in the past, and they've mostly been all the same. The OtterBox protector seems to be of higher quality, and its the first case I've gotten on with absolutely no bubbles. Also, while trying to get the bubbles out on other protectors, you end up scratching the protector with the credit card. OtterBox solved that issue by putting an extra layer on the protector, and once you have worked all the bubbles out, you peel off the outer layer, leaving a pristine screen protector. I honestly can't tell that it's even there. Unfortunately that's where the good stops.

The silicone on the Iphone 4 commuter seems cheap, and doesn't fit the phone as well as in previous versions. The corners and parts that aren't covered by the outer shell constantly move and don't hug the phone as tightly as on the last version.

The hard protective shell is a complete failure on my case. When you initially take it out of the case, you can tell that the plastic is of cheaper construction than previous models. It is significantly thinner than the last, which is nice from a size perspective, but it just feels cheap in your hands, like it is going to break at the slightest stress. Also, the worst thing about mine is that it just doesn't fit the phone. It is too big for the phone, leaving gaps around all 4 sides. On 2 sides, the gap is small enough as to be almost not noticeable, but on 2 it's very obvious, and its so far from the silicone that the whole case flexes in your hand. On my particular case, it's obvious that the protective shell was machined too large for the silicone. No matter how much massaging and fiddling you so with the case, it won't fit the phone properly. As I've said before, on my 3GS, once you snap the outer case on, it's bombproof.

I bought the case direct from OtterBox the day it became available, and Amazon's price is now significantly cheaper. Still, this case isn't worth the cheaper price.

-Update

Otterbox customer service replied, and are sending out a replacement case. Their customer service was very friendly. I'll write another update when the new case arrives.

-Update 2

Customer service promptly sent out a replacement case. The 2nd case definitely fits better, it fits the phone correctly, but there isn't the tight, solid feel of previous versions. As other reviews have noted, the outer case can be uncomfortable against your ear. There are better cases out there for less money, for example, the 'free' case I got through Apple. I got a Griffin Reveal Etch through the free case program, which doesn't offer as much protection, but the case feels solid and fits the phone much tighter than the Otterbox. I still think they make great products, but this one was a failure. At least they've dropped the price since I ordered mine.'

Wandas Evil Scheme - bathroom, trash can

I bought the bathroom set for my 3.5 year old son's bathroom. These are not quality items but the are okay for the time being. I expect my son to grow out of Spiderman in a year or two so these items will suffice. If I had needed these items for long-term use then I would not have purchased them. 10 Minute Trainer - p90x, exercise bands

This is a quality product. The customer support is excellent. Replies to my email have been fast and courteous. 1 defective band was replaced immediately.

The set is just as promised. the bands are sturdy and have nice metal clips. The only thing that could be improved is the "door attachment" it works fine at the top and side of the door, but easily slipped through the bottom of a door when there is a carpet. There is a web site with exercises that is oddly not mentioned anywhere, but you can find the videos on You Tube. It's the best bang for the buck. Aylio Basic Resistance Bands Exercise Set

I can't recommend these bands. The yellow band broke the first time I used it. Not the band itself. The clasps at the ends are poorly attached. The band is sandwiched at the ends between a stitched piece of fabric. As soon as the stitches come loose, the end falls off. In the bag is a disclaimer. If you pull too hard on these bands, they may break. What's too hard? I bought these for the P90x workout. They didn't hold up. I agree with other reviewers that the tension is too light as well.

Added Note: Shortly, after I wrote this review the company contacted me and really wanted to make me happy. I think they're customer service is great. Unfortunately it doesn't make the bands work better. Hopefully they'll redesign.

I ordered these bands to be use for the P90X fitness system. The bands are just as promised by the seller, they are good high quality resistance bands with all the needed attachments and allow you to quickly and easily transition from one exercise to the next (possibly even quicker than with an actual weight gym.) I was a bit skeptical at first because I didn't think that fitness bands could provide a good workout - boy was I wrong. By grouping the bands together you can increase the weight resistance to a very high level and provide a nice fluid resistance training session. It also helps to make sure your weaker set of muscles train to catch up to your stonger side. Also, the service from the seller was exceptional, they got these out to me right away, even with the free shipping, and did a follow up email. I highly recommend these bands for anyone looking for a good home workout with limited space and a limited budget!

N Toups

These bands are decent. The first time I used them, the yellow one popped out of the handle. I tried to see about exchanging just the yellow one, but was told I would have to send in the whole set for a refund, and then order a new set. That would take too long and I'm in a workout program where I need them pretty much daily. I've used them for a while since and have had no problems, but on maneuvers where I am stretching it a long way, I don't use the handle, I just grab the band right below where it meets the handle. They give a decent workout and are a much cheaper alternative to buying a huge set of dumbells.

I ordered these bands because of the great price. When I revived them I was really impressed with the quality. These bands were a great price and also one of the best I've seen. Great for P90x videos as well. Buy a set and see for yourself, you won't be let down!

I bought these bands and they are just okay. Supposedly they give you up to 50 pounds of resistance when used together. I was able to do a bicep curl with all of them, and believe me, I'm no body builder. The bands seem more fitted for women who want to tone and lose weight. I don't want to be muscular but lean and well built. These bands did not offer the type of resistance I was hoping for. I am now with Bodylastics bands, which are the best. Hope I was helpful!

I was looking for resistance bands and found this product to be perfect. The price is less than the competitors and it is of the same quality. I am able vary the resistance with ease to get the maximum benefit from all my excersizes and would highly reccomend this product. I also use these bands (instead od the ones sphipping with the product) with the EA Sports Active for the Wii and have found that to be a much better workout.

Fast delivery. Bands are of the highest quality. They are very effective yet durable. I've tried many different companies for exercise bands in the past but have never been as pleased as I am with this set. Highly recommended!!! - Fitness - P90x - Exercise Bands - Exercise'

Exercise Tools - exercise, exercise tools

This is a sturdy and versatile piece of equipment for people of all fitness levels. Utilizing the adjustable height, I can easily work it into my clients strength and aerobics programs for variety and fun. I originally purchased this stepper to do aerobic step testing for my new clients, but a lot of other applications have presented themselves!

My only criticism of this item would be to suggest that the stability strip on the top level step could be wider to cover the entire top. As it is there is about two inches of hard curved plastic on either side of the strip that could allow for a misplaced foot to slip off. The Step F1080 High Step

I hemmed and hawwed about buying this for awhile, then decided to take the plunge. What a good decision that was, this is a very valuable and versatile piece of equipment to me. I have a variety of workout videos that I can use this with, but I appreciate the adjustability of it the most. I find the 12 inch height perfect for my 35 plus year old knees. I have used The Firms step up boxes and Transfirmer which are 16 inches high, that height is doable but the 12 inch height is much more comfortable for me. And if for some reason I decide to add more height, I have found that my extra set of purple risers for my club step fit the high step just perfect. They don't exactly match colorwise but big deal.

I use it for aerobics, weight work, the topper is perfect for calf raises, etc. All sorts of uses for this step.

Great buy and well worth the money, I am glad that I finally wised up and bought one for myself!

Mine also came with a workout DVD, Cathe Friedrich's High Step Circuit which shows you even more ways to utilize

the High Step. Recommended.

This is an excellent product! Love the DVD that came with it and it is in my regular rotation. It is one of the best exercise DVDs I own. The step is well constructed and high quality. It is easy to change the riser height. I highly recommend this product and the wonderful DVD that comes with it.

Love this step! So much sturdier than other high steps I've used before -- allows you to step up and down quickly and confidently. Very versatile and definitely worth the money! Also like the DVD that came with it -- good deal!

I purchased The Step F1080 High Step and it was delivered in a timely fashion. The DVD inside had no clear wrapper indicating a new product, the outside DVD case was broken and missing the entire top section. DVD inside plays fine. Right out of the box the bottom step had a collection of dust and floor dirt ground into the four rubber/plastic floor cushions...obviously already been used on somebody's dirty floor. Although Clorox disinfecting wipes cleared up any dirt issues with the step, the broken DVD case (with the broken pieces completely missing from the box so it wasn't broken in transit) makes me a little less confident in the merchandise I might buy in the future. The step works fine, the DVD works fine. I just don't think I got a brand new product.

This is the best step product on the market and it really works. I have had this for about a month now and the difference is incredible. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to work the legs and glutes, which is a difficult area for most women.

This product shipped quickly and I highly recommend it. However, it did not contain a DVD, which was very disappointing, since I ordered this particular one because claimed to contain a DVD.

Amazon did take care of me, but I wasn't pleased that the product description was wrong.

I ordered this for my wife recently and I have used it more than her! I love that there are so many heights available. My basement floor is tiled and can be a bit slippery, that's where the anti-skid material on the bottom comes in handy, this thing stays put like nobody's business!

Who needs a big step when this little step will do? I use my High Step for general step exercises, plyo work, advanced pushups and core exercises- This is easier to store, less expensive and serves almost all of the same purposes as a larger step. - Fitness - Step - Exercise - Exercise Tools'

Remote Control - syma rc helicopter, remote control helicopter

This toy is great, even for the big kids to play around with. It's a very durable and easy to use helicopter and requires no previous skills to fly. Best of all, you can charge it using your computer's USB port or the remote controller it comes with. One thing to note is that this toy is IR controlled, not radio controlled. That means that it's more line-of-sight than being able to control it from another room for example. That being said, it will not get interfered with by cordless phones or other radio emitting devices.

You can fly this little guy in a small apartment or a small room and you will have fun doing so. It's great for offices since it's not too loud and again easy to maneuver.

Hope you enjoy it! Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter - Yellow

I bought this remote controlled helicopter a few days ago for my son who is 6. It is a really cool toy. It is amazing to see it fly and maneuver around the house. It charges for about 40 minutes and flies for about 8 minutes on a charge. It requires skill to fly and is actually challenging, which makes it fun and interesting. My son is too young to really play with it properly so we play with it together. It is pretty sturdy, however, you will end up damaging it over time. There is only so many times that you can crash it before it gets damaged. A small piece of decorative plastic cracked from the tail section which I taped back together. I wouldn't count this against the product because I crashed it repeatedly without significantly damaging it. I will probably have to buy some spare parts in the future.

Bottom line - Great, fun, challenging little toy helicopter. Probably the coolest remote controlled toy I have ever bought.

I purchased this specific model of R/C Helicopter because of other reviews saying how good the control and good the quality of the aircraft.

Controls:

The control and handling is very good. This is my 3rd R/C helicopter and 1st dual prop helicopter. My young kids can fly it without crashing (once they get a hang of controlling prop speed and not dropping it like a brick when it gets too high). I can easily maneuver into tight spots and hover in place. Landing is easy. With single prop helicopters it's a challenge just to stay in the air and avoid walls.

Construction:

The construction is very poor. The meta parts seem fine. The plastic is not as sturdy as other brand r/c toys and a couple small crashes damaged the propellers during the first few flights. A few flights later the rear "landing" plastic was damaged. Replacement pieces are not expensive but shipping them is often more than 2x the cost of the part.

Battery Life:

The helicopter runs the 7 to 10 minutes as expected. However it requires 50 MINUTES to charge. This is very very disappointing. Other similar helicopters charge in 10 minutes.

Rating:

I gave it 3 stars because the control seems so good. Next time I'll try another brand.

I'm a 47-year-old kid who has always loved aviation and RC models. Cars, planes, everything. I currently have two other small scale rc helicopters that I have enjoyed, but they are NOTHING like the Syma S107. Not even close. The thing is, they cost A LOT more.

I see a lot of comments here about how easy this model is to break. The two channel models I have are much more likely to break because you have very little control. With the Syma S107, you have ABSOLUTE control. Have you ever seen a dragonfly in flight - stopping and turning on a dime? That's what this helicopter reminds me of.

Right out of the box it is impressive. The quality of construction is beautiful to look at. If you've ever seen one of the huge rc helicopters that the pros fly, this looks like a scaled down version, with a metal frame and boom tubes just like the big ones. Two separate motors operate the main rotors independently. When you initiate a turn, one rotor spins faster than the other to generate torque, which turns the aircraft. It's the same principle that is used to turn real twin main rotor helicopters like the CH-46 Sea Knight and the CH-47 Chinook.

The really cool part is the tail rotor. It's mounted at 90 degrees to what you're used to seeing on a helicopter. It blows air up and down, not left and right. The tail rotor is what generates forward and backward movement by raising or lowering the tail, and it is very precise and responsive.

A couple of tips if you're new to this type of toy:

1. After charging, put the helicopter on a good, clear section of floor and turn on the helicopter and remote.

2. Don't touch the right control yoke yet - you don't need it.

3. Hold the throttle yoke in your left hand and the small trim adjuster knob in the right.

4. GRADUALLY move the left yoke forward to increase throttle until the helicopter barely leaves the ground. Watch for left or right rotation and turn the trim knob to make the helicopter hover without rotating. Once it hovers without turning by using only the throttle, you're ready to fly.

5. Get used to the throttle by GRADUALLY increasing and decreasing. The biggest problem is using too much throttle and hitting the ceiling, then the helicopter falls all the way to the floor. That's how they break. If you're careful, you'll be OK.

6. ENJOY. This is the coolest toy I've had in years, and my kids like it so much, I bought another for each of them today.

The first RC helicopter i bought was an RC Apache and I was really dissapointed, it was unstable and I really never flew it.

Not this one, it flew right out of the box... It's stable, and looks great.

I bought one for my brother in law, and he loves it.

My wife says I spend more time with it than with her... It is probably true... Wait until she finds out that i just placed an order for two more... hahaha

I crashed it several times while learning and it is really durable. I did crack on stabilizer but nothing a little amount of Crazy Glue did not fix.

One more thing, I read in several blogs that you should not overcharge it and not fly it until the battery is completely empty... It will make it last longer. That's why I am buying more of them... To have more fly-time!

I am sure you will like it too. - Rc Helicopter - Syma Rc Helicopter - Remote Control Helicopter - Syma'

Motorcycle Rain Gear - wet weather coat, coleman

Great super-lightweight minimalist rain suit. Popular with 'ultralight hikers' for whom every ounce of pack weight counts; jacket by itself weighs an amazing 6 ounces.

Some caveats: to get the light weight (and the price), there are no pockets, zero, on these, neither outer or inner. The zipper is a little fragile and has to be handled carefully to avoid sticking or ripping. If super light weight is more important to you than sturdiness, these are for you. Thru-hikers know that these DriDucks are handy but fragile & need to be protected from snags, abrasion, thorn vines etc. The cut is large and wide, big enough to wear over any number of other layers and you can wear a smallish backpack or messenger shoulder bag, then put the large jacket on over everything.

But if you want a regular sturdy rain suit with pockets that you can knock around in for boating, bushwacking around, kayaking, ATVing etc, and ultra lightweight doesn't matter, you'll be happier with something else. Khaki Driducks Hood Rainsuit - L

If you're looking for untralightweight, very packable gear for open country this is a great suit, but it is easily damaged by brush, rocks or snags. It is cheap, so it can be inexpensively replaced if damaged, but that's little consolation if you're far away from a retailer and facing a second day of rain with a shredded pair of rain pants. Duct tape helps as do gaiters, but both negate the weight advantage of using this suit. A more substantial suit is probably best for rough country.

As others have stated, the zipper is easily damaged, and the suit lacks pockets, but as with the easily damaged material, both of these are obviously sacrificed for light weight and packability. If weight and size are your major concerns, this suit is a good option. Just stay out of heavy brush and avoid abrading on rocks.

As an "occasional use" suit for lightweight backpacking it's quite reasonable. Stuffed in it's included protective sack it should also survive in you glove box as a part of your roadside emergency kit. When worn this rain suit blocks the wind better, and keeps your legs drier than a poncho with it's open bottom, but most ponchos are more rugged and more versatile being useful as shelters, ground clothes, or tarps as well as rain gear.

Overall this is one of those pieces of gear that I sometimes carry and sometimes don't.

It's an inexpensive compromise that might fit your needs.

I bought this so I could ride my bike to and from work in the rain if need be. I am 6'4" 200lbs and wanted something I could put over my rucksack. So I ordered 2XL. The jacket fits me pretty well. A little loose but a good fit. Well I wanted a very loose fit. Not what I anticipated and I cannot put this over my rucksack. The pants are absolutely HUGE! Problem is there is no draw string for the pants just a flimsy little rubber waste band AND the length is for someone at least 6'9". I am taking the pants to a tailor to fix the waste band and the length.

Bottom line: good material, good zipper but the sizes are out there.

This is definitely a LIGHT WEIGHT suit. It is cheaply made and not all that water proof. It runs bigger than what you think. I am 5'5" and usually wear a medium shirt and wear a 7 or 9 in pants so I ordered the Medium Suit. Wow talk about big you could have fit two of me in there. I would say that my leg length is around 30". The pants to this suit were about 2" too long and the jacket was extremely big. The sleeves went down past my hands. You couldn't even see my hands. I was going to order 2 of these but I didn't and now I'm glad I didn't. It's up to you but I won't order this again or recommend this.

The material for this rainsuit is lighter and more breathable than most expensive/ high-end rain jackets available on the market. The cut and style, however, is less than desireable. The fit is oversized and a bit odd because the sleeves are too short and leaves the wrist completely exposed to the elements. The material is very delicate so the pants are pretty useless as they rip easily. The jacket lasts much longer as long as you dont snag it on a lot of off-trail vegetation. Even if they do their it can easily be repaired with a small patch of duct tape. The jacket is so good and so cheap that I have a hard time justifying the expense of an expensive "high performance" jacket other than for pure style. Just throw away the pants and keep the jacket.

I bought this rain suit to keep packed in my bag for bicycle commuting. Before heading home yesterday it began to rain, so of course I slipped on my brand new rain pants. Immediately upon mounting my bicycle the crotch of the pants ripped open about 2"... so there's that. I rode home with a huge gaping hole in my crotch. Luckily it was not raining hard enough to soak me in that spot. Upon dismounting, the crotch ripped another 4" inches, making them basically unwearable.

I will say that they kept my pants dry, except for they do not breath at all, so anything they cover becomes slightly like a greenhouse inside.

If you do not intend to do anything beyond tying your shoes (and even then I would be careful) this is a good bargain for the price, but be warned that they are very delicate. - Rain Pants - Rain Coat - Wet Weather Coat - Coleman'
