Retractable - pencil, bic mechanical pencils

The colors are great. Never jammed for me. The eraser can be removed to add more lead. I have a few in my school bag, some next to the computer and the rest in drawers. I don't scramble for pens anymore. These are awesome. BIC Mechanical Pencil with Colorful Barrels, Thick Point (0.9 mm), 24 Pencils

It is soo hard to find pencils with a 0.9 mm lead. I HATE 0.7mmm lead because it breaks a lot! These are the best mechanical pencils I have ever had. I have even shared 1/2 of my order with my granddaughter in North Carolina...she is 1q2 years-old also LOVES the lead quality for her search a word puzzles! Thank you for offering them to your customers! Marilyn from Rhode Island

I've used these mechanical pencils off and on for more than a year, and I write rather hard compared to most people. 0.9mm lead is the smallest lead tough enough to withstand the force of my writing without repeated breakage, but there is one downside to these pencils that leads me to only buy them in a pinch.

After some time writing, graphite seems to lubricate the mechanism holding the lead. Trying to write becomes much more difficult. The lead pushes back into the pencil, becoming equally if not more annoying as repeated breakages.

My experience has been the same for more than a year. The pencils start out wonderful, but become very hard to use before half the lead is spent. Lighter writers may not experience the same issues.

I am so glad that we found these 0.9mm pencils for my 6 year old son. He loves to draw and hates to sharpen pencils. We tried 0.5mm & 0.7mm mechanical pencils and their leads are just too weak or they poke through the paper. This 0.9mm lead is the perfect width for my budding artist. To make it more fun for my son, we also got the squishy grip and the monkey eraser heads. I highly recommend it!

I have been looking for inexpensive mechanical pens that has thicker leads primarily for use by my kids. Most mechanical pencils are 0.5mm and 0.7mm thick which are too thin, they usually poke a hole on the paper. These are closer to the wooden pencils that they usually use everyday. My kids love to open the sharpener compartment to look how much shaves they make. They throw it to the trash but they make a lot of mess. And for 24 pcs, it is a 5-star value.

They have white eraser on the opposite tip and equipped with a pocket clip. Assorted colors. - Mechanical Pencils - Pencil - Bic Mechanical Pencils - Bic'

Dect Cordless Phone - recommend, dect cordless phone

Our Panasonic phones were suffering from heavy, ungentle use. We were happy with Panasonic, but we decided to try this similar and comparably priced Vtech set instead. Mostly we liked its appearance. The two sets are very comparable in appearance and ease of use. Set-up was equally easy. However, here are three features Panasonic had, that the Vtech units do not have:

1. Panasonic had an easy-to-reach menu item to directly access my messages at my phone service provider. Vtech lets me turn off the phone-base messages, but then I have to set up a directory entry to reach my provider-held messages or dial them each time.

2. Panasonic let me set ring tones for anyone on my directory ... not the Vtech units.

3. Panasonic offered the option of caller ID voiced aloud from the base unit.

Small differences, but I would have stayed with Panasonic had I known these were not available with the Vtech set.

Still, the Vtech set has one feature better than the Panasonic. It has a quick and easy way to alter phone log numbers to whatever format we need to call back or put them in our directory. Our state uses area codes that are not geographically determined. So, every call has to have at least 10 digits and many need a one added for long distance. Vtech flips through the options to let us pick the one we need ... very nice. Vtech DECT 6.0 Black/White Expandable 4-Handset Cordless Phone System with Digital Answering Device and Caller ID (CS6229-4)

I purchased this system from Office Depot two weeks before Amazon dropped the price by $[...]. For the $$, this is an excellent system. It has been replaced by a newer model that has an orange backlight - but is otherwise identical to this. The newer model is about $[...] more, so this is a steal.

For cordless phones, the top of the line is Panasonic - period. You will find that all Panasonic systems are about 30%-40$ more than Vtech. The newest Panasonic DECT system has a very nice feature - they are powered by AAA rechargable batteries, which are found at any store. Typically, replacement proprietary batteries cost about as much as a new phone system...

The Vtech is a completely disposable system - cheap enough that when it finally breaks in a few years, you might as well buy a new one.

However, the Vtech has several completely useless "features":

1) when you turn off the ringer on a handset, it will not ring for any reason until you turn it back on. This means if you happen to misplace a muted handset, you can page it, but the LCD screen will merely light up - it won't make a sound. Every other system - including the Panasonic - will audibly page a lost handset even if it is muted. Panasonic goes one step further - if the battery is dangerously low on a muted phone, it will still give you an audible low battery chirp. How many times have you used the paging feature to locate a lost handset? With Vtech, you better not have it muted! Pure stupidity.

2) Panasonic has a unique ringtone for intercom paging than for incoming telephone calls. This is very useful. If my Vtech is rining, I don't know if it is an outside call (probably for my wife), or if my wife is trying to page me from another room. Vtech allows you to set a ringtone, but uses the same tone for paging and outside calls.

3) I just discovered this, and would change my rating to 1 star if I could. It is unforgivable in the year 2009. The Vtech has no battery backup on its base unit. It doesn't even have a battery compartment. If you have a power outage - even a brownout - you lose time and date. Your messages and outgoing message is saved, but really...no battery compartment? Every answering machine I've had up till now has had one.

Vtech Pros:

* Choice of many ring sounds

* Shared phone-book (store a number on one handset and all other handsets have it as well)

* Answering system displays number of calls

* Good talk time

Vtech Cons:

* Rediculous inability to locate a muted phone!!

* No battery backup - even a momentary power outage will lose time/date

* No unique ringtone for intercom calls

* Proprietary (expensive) battery

* Ni-Cad battery (most phones have at least Ni-Mh)

* Upper buttons (speaker phone, talk, hang up, flash) are not backlit

* Backlight is not very bright. Funky domed number buttons are hard to read because domes act as magnifying lens.

In contrast, the only con with the Panasonic is that it has a shorter talk time than most phones. It has a signal boost for clearer sound, but it drains the battery lilke crazy.

EDIT: As I write this review, Costco just started carrying the 4-handset top of the line Panasonic DECT system (KX-TG6444T) - they literally added it today. The display is HUGE, and easily readable. They are asking $[...], which is $[...] less than Amazon and everywhere else, but still $[...] more than this Vtech equivalent. Frankly, I think you'll be much happier with the Panasonic.

2nd EDIT: I added two more very nasty cons to the Vtech - no distinctive ringtone for paging, and no battery backup. For many, I think the absence of a battery backup will be a deal-breaker. There's no excuse for not putting an empty battery compartment in an answering machine these days.

Spend the extra bucks on a Panasonic. It's light years better. - Cordless Phone - Dect Cordless Phone - Recommend - Answering Machine'

Iphone Fm Transmitter - iphone fm transmitter, ipod transmitter

I give this a three mostly for the price the sound isnt great but decent for what you pay. I do like the fact that it is wireless so unless you are charging your ipod you dont need it pluged in. What I dont like about it is there are no buttons to pre-set so if you get static you have to fumble around til you find a clear station. If all you wanna do is listin to your ipod to and from work go ahead and get this but if you travel alot Id go with something else NEEWER Wireless FM Transmitter + Car Adapter Charger for iPod Touch, iPhone, Nano, Classic, + MORE! Charge your iPod / iPhone! 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 120GB, 160GB (**Remote Control NOT included**)

I bought this really not expecting much. It's dirt cheap, and goods this cheap tend to not be a quality product. What a surprise to see that this thing works better than my friends Belkin car adapter/mount for the iphone. Sound quality is just as good as i've heard on any other FM transmitter- not great, but if you care that much about sound quality, you'll need an audio input on your head unit. No FM modulator is gonna put out stellar sound, regardless of the price or quality of the product.

Overall, love it. It was cheap enough that even with expedited shipping it was still only ten bucks. Can't beat that deal!

I got this just before my road trip to Myrtle beach from NY. It gave some static in the beginning - probably due to noise in city area. But once I passed metro area, the source was very clear. Its easy to operate and the fun part is that it is wireless - you can pass it on to backseat people without worrying about any wires coming into play here. I really like this product and would recommend it to all. It is definitely worth its price.

Ok, so I'm a college freshman and my car is an '09 Nissan Versa which doesn;t have an Aux (which sucks but w/e). I have been looking for Fm transmitters for about 2 weeks and I really did not feel like paying $30+ for the ones at Walmart, Target, Radio Shack etc. Ebay was a little unreliable, so since I needed a book for classes that I was buying through Amazon I decided to look for one on here. I found this one and its AWESOME. I got it for under $10 bucks with shipping including and it works just fine. I got 4 days after ordering it and its great. The only thing is that it doesn't come with instructions but that is because all you have to do is plug it into your ipod touch or w/e you have and it turns on. I use 107.9FM and that takes me all the way from home to school and back. It might get a little static at some points but its not that bad. Hey for $10 bucks I'm not complaining. So I get to spend the $30+ I saved on something else for my touch. ^_^ Buy it, it is totally worth it.

I bought this to replace the cassette adapter I'd been using with my iPod in the car, but I never considered the other great benefits. Yes, it works in the car and because it's really small and portable, it fits easily inside my iPod carrying bag along with my other small accessories so wherever I take my iPod, I automatically have it too. It's nice to be able to offer my iPod for listening when riding in someone else's car or when using a rental car.

Where I live there are plenty of stations I can sync to and it's just a matter of setting the radio on an FM station of static (no programming) and setting the same station on the little transmitter. Immediately your iPod music comes out of the radio :). Some stations work better than others (i.e. less static) so I experimented until I found one that works both in town and out in the country where I live and will serve on my normal local travels. My car radio provides more presets than I need, so I set this station as one of them and can return to it easily as needed. I get better reception in the car if I leave it plugged in even if the iPod doesn't need charging.

Second, and this is huge, it works with other FM radios--not just in the car. I've synched with a good, clear station on my Bose radio in the house and unless the volume is really high, the sound is great for the classical music I play. If I turn it up too high, I can hear some static and the sound is too airy, but that's too high for my eardrums anyway.

I have a small sound dock in my kitchen for my iPod, but if I want to play it when guests are over or when I'm moving around the house a lot, the central location of the Bose radio works better. I lay the iPod with transmitter on the shelf above the radio (the transmitter won't let you get too far away from the radio) and it's like I have a Bose sound dock--not quite the same quality of sound but pretty good--and for practically nothing. Along those same lines, this means I can enjoy my iPod without earphones in a hotel room with no sound dock. How cool is that? It's not the best sound quality ever, but it's certainly good enough for traveling and background music during parties or housework. Best of all, I don't have to take my sound-dock with me in order to listen to my iPod in a hotel. That is even more important to me than being able to play the iPod in the car.

The unit comes with a remote, but I haven't used it so can't report on that. I can set the FM station right on the little transmitter with the up and down buttons and change music as desired directly on my iPod. I don't need another remote to keep track of and don't expect to be using it. It looks functional enough though.

I highly recommend this unit for use with an iPod for those times when an FM radio is available to provide you with a speaker.

Update 2/13/11: After further use, I've learned two more things. I was sewing the other night in a room that has only the worst ever FM radio that is so static'y I rarely listen to it. I used this transmitter and my iPod and was amazed at the sound--so much better than the radio itself has ever offered. I'm really sold on this thing for in the house. I have, however, found another unit that offers better sound in the car. It's corded so you don't have the flexibility of this unit, but I find the sound surprisingly good, even better than when playing a CD. I'm really hooked on both these gadgets. Grantwood Technology's FM Transmitter and Car Charger for iPhone 4, Including NEW Verizon iPhone 4, and iPhone 3G/3GS, iPod nano, iPod Classic, and iPod touch (Including NEWEST), and iPad, includes Grantwood Technology's Sticky Pad.

A word of caution, however. I ordered another one of these wireless units at a super cheap price as a backup, and find the quality of sound isn't nearly as good as the first, for which I paid a higher price (although still low). Don't know if there's a quality control problem or if the uber cheap ones are seconds or something. Worth considering, but I think worth trying regardless. The first one I ordered remains outstanding. - Fm Transmitter - Ipod Car Kit - Ipod Transmitter - Iphone Fm Transmitter'

Photography - photography, camera backpack

After much thought, I decided to get a sling-type bag, as a backpack would be too difficult to access on the run, and in my experience a traditional (boxy) camera bag is a pain to carry around.

I have an EOS 20D with the 17-85mm zoom, and it fits beautifully in the main compartment with sufficient room for another lens and a flash or for two lenses. Then there's an upper compartment where I keep my battery charger, cables and other assorted stuff, and a filter pocket in the front.

Some nice details that really stand out to me:

- The hidden all-weather cover that stows away in a flat Velcro-ed pocket to the base of the bag is invisible until you pull it out for use: so much so that one reviewer didn't even realise it is there!

- The back is very well padded.

- The zips are very high quality, and silent when in use. When they are closed the zips themselves are not visible, instead you have a neat covered `bead' for the length of the opening.

- The main compartment flap opens fully, giving unrestricted access.

- There are two nylon webbing straps with quick-release clips to that ensure that when the bag is on your front, there is no chance that the flap will accidentally open due to the weight of the camera, even is the zips are half opened. This is hard to describe accurately, but trust me- there'll be no nasty surprises if these clips are in place.

- When in shooting position, the bag presents an excellent platform for your elbows, greatly enhancing the steadiness of your shot.

- There's a built-in microfibre cloth that protects your LCD screen whilst the camera is in the bag, and may well be used as a lenscloth.

- When you want to get moving, there's a second smaller strap that attaches easily to the main strap so that the bag really stays put on your back, even when hunched over on a bike.

This is beautifully made and intelligently designed bag that will likely last for years. I can't recommend it highly enough.

UPDATE: Have gotten the 70-300 IS (non-DO) canon zoom and the SlingShot 100 will not fit this lens whilst it's attached to the body without distortion of the closure flap - it does however fit the 20D body with a 17-85 mounted on it whilst the 70-300 is in the left compartment and the 70-300's large lens hood stored either on the lens in reverse, or in the right compartment, so I'm still happy with it.

UPDATE 2: Alexander asked me is the Slingshot would work on one shoulder: i.e. not over your head and across your chest. The answer is yes and no: you can certainly sling it over one shoulder, but due to the angle it was designed to work at the strap does not 'sit' as well on one side, so if you choose to carry it like this, you'll have to hold on to the bag a bit. Having said this, I use it on one shoulder far more than slung across my chest, so let that be your guide. Lowepro SlingShot 100 All-Weather Digital Camera Backpack (Black)

Lowe has done it again. I own 2 other Lowe bags (one being my expedition backpack for camping and a computrekker). I swear by their design innovation and attention to using professional grade materials.

I use the SlingShot 100 AW everyday. Photo ops come up at any second. You have to be ready and the SlingShot allows you to be there. It comfortably holds my DSLR Rebel XT, 430EX flash, 5 memory cards, cables, power adapter, 24mm lens, 85mm lens, 100mm macro lens and the attached 18-55mm lens.

The INGENIOUS sling design is easy to use. Simply rotate unzip the main compartment (everything stays in because the closeable buckles prohibit you from opening it up too far) and easily lift the camera out in shooting position.

While the camera is out, the bag hangs comfortable around the front and I use it to rest my elbow on while shooting (an added bonus! stability).

The stabilizing strap can be hidden away, very NICE touch. And easily pulled out when needed.

The all-weather (AW) hidden cover comes out and protects in a downpour. Another great idea.

The microfiber LCD protector, numerous pockets are added bonuses, but the TRUE BEAUTY OF THIS BAG is that it allows QUICK, EASY AND SECURE motion from storage to shoot.

I got the 100 because I'm smaller and prefer a smaller bag. If I need to absolutely carry more lenses and gear, I'll most likely be going somewhere where I'm going to be stationary so I'll use my Lowe computrekker.

But as for being in the field, and being ready at moments notice...the SlingShot is it.

UPDATE JULY 2008:

=================

I sold this bag. Not because it was bad--I got more stuff and bought the next size up! I own the Slingshot 200 now and it is just as versatile, convenient and durable. LoweProducts are the way to go.

Contrary to the previous reviewer's comments, the all-weather sleeve that did not "come with the bag" is attached to the bottom of the bag -- there's no way that it did not come with the bag as the previous author writes. It is a very well-padded compact bag, and has enough room for a dSLR with lens attached (I have an EOS Digital Rebel XT) and room for two additional lenses (one shorter-length prime lens and maybe one standard telephoto zoom). Additionally, it's easy to quickly remove the camera from the bag because the zippers are on the side of the sling, allowing you quickly swing the bag to the front of your body, open the bag, and grab your camera. Removeable padded areas attached via Velcro allow for personal customization of the bag to better fit your equipment needs. This bag gets a favorable mention in my book. - Photography - Sling - Camera Backpack - Lowepro'

Camping Tent - large tent, camping

This tent was a lot bigger than I expected it to be, which is a good thing. It is very roomy, so if you have a lot of people (or just a lot of stuff), this will work great. There is enough room for multiple adults to stand up straight without hitting their heads on the ceiling. Despite the fact that it is so big, it is very easy to set up (I set it up on my own, with no help). My only complaint is that the air circulation is rather poor. The windows are rather small compared to the size of the tent, so unless you have the rain fly off, it is very stuffy. Wenzel Great Basin 18 X 10-Feet Nine-Person Two-Room Family Dome Tent (Light Grey/Blue/Taupe)

I bought this tent specifically for a week-long scout camp. The simple design lent itself for putting this big tent up in just a few minutes. The tent has all the features I was looking for in a tent: size, design, weight, looks, simplicity, packability, etc. We put four scouts in it and fit them and a week's worth of junk perfectly with plenty of room to spare. The boys loved how roomy it was and that they could stand up in it. We had nice weather for the first two days.

But then the wind started blowing. We made sure every single tie down was firmly in place and the entire tent was staked. The rain fly tore at the edge after about twenty minutes of wind. One of the main thick fiberglass poles broke in two and the jagged edges ripped through the tent and right through the rain fly. One of the side fiberglass poles also snapped in two. Fortunately this happened at noon instead of midnight and luckily we had two backup tents in which to put the boys. We had several different brands of tents set up and this is the only one that had difficulty in the wind.

This tent needs stronger poles and better designed rope tighteners as these kept coming loose in the wind. The brand new tent lasted all of two days of use.

We were looking for something a step up from the tiny 4 (felt like 2) person tent that we had and came across this Wenzel. The price is certainly decent and we decided to get it and try it out. We've set it up a few times and taken it on one camping trip and here are our thoughts thus far.

Pros:

-Huge! This thing dwarfs other tents and will surely make others jealous! We filled it with a queen size air mattress, a baby's pack-and-play, a camp chair, a ton of gear, and still only covered half the floor space and had plenty of room to walk around. You will easily forget you are sleeping in a tent. Do not underestimate the size of this thing, it is really, really big.

-Easy to set up. Just four main poles and a very straightforward rain-fly.

-Convenient. Not too heavy and folds back into its back without too much difficulty.

-Inexpensive

-Light-rain proof. Haven't tried it in a real storm but kept a light rain/dew off.

Cons:

-Definitely requires staking on the sides. Not sure how it would hold up if you had really loose soil or sand.

-Not a cold weather tent by any means.

All in all, we were very pleased. Just two of us had no problem setting it up in <15 minutes and didn't find any defects in stitching, quality, etc.

I went camping with a big bunch of friends, the first question from everyone when they saw the tent was, "Are you planning to live in that thing?" So first thing it is huge, we fit a double and twin blow up mattress in this and had room for another double easily. Although it is very large it was actually pretty easy to set up, with 1 person helping it was easily up in about 20 min or so. That said, it was quite windy where we were and it leaned most of the weekend but definitely held its ground. We only has a little rain and it wasn't a problem but I can't say much for how it would stand up in a real rainstorm. Packing it up was also pretty easy, I didn't think we would get all of it back in the bag again but it worked and even packed up fairly quick. Overall this tent was well worth the money and we will be using it again and again!

I took this tent on a week long trip, and it stood up very well. We experienced a bad wind and rain storm the first night. It held up well in winds up to 50 mph, but the seams leaked. Once the wind really picked up to about 65 mph the stakes came out and the poles popped out. Overall there were no broken poles, no rips, and no actuall damage that i noticed. All in all it held up very well, but it is definatly not a storm tent. If you buy this tent you must seam seal EVERY seam, except the rainfly seams and the seams covered by the rainfly. Definatly worth $130 though.

Great tent. was a bit nervous that it would be TOO big based on the other reviews, but it was a great size.

- Easy to stand up in the middle.

- Very roomy, we had 6 of us in the tent, with plenty of room to spare for gear, etc.

- Only 6 poles to set up the tent (excluding the rain tarp), so set up was super easy.

- From box to set up was only about 15 minutes.

- Zippers, windows, everything is designed very well.

- This is our second Wenzel tent (still use the other 4-person tent too), and the quality is top notch. Great tent. - Wenzel - Camping - Large Tent - Camping Tent'

Made In China - swat, knife

Where you gonna get a knife of this quality for 11 smackaroo's.

This is a better knife than the one I bought at bass pro for $30.

Sturdy, easy open, no blade wobble.

This puppy is razor sharp and will cut up a box, sharpen a pencil

or skin a squirrel if you choose to do so.

I recommend this blade 100%. Smith & Wesson CK105H Extreme Ops Knife

I bought this knife as a replacement. In opening it up I was immediately impressed by what a great feel and how light this little knife is. Weighed it out, and it's only 85.8g. Shaved a little bit of weight on my camping pack. I bought it for camping, and can't wait to put it to use. It seems really sharp. Only time will tell how it will hold up over time and abuse.

Hello! I picked up this knife at a gun show I was at because the price was right and I liked the shape. Surprisingly, it's better than about 10 other knives that I own, even more expensive ones. I'm sure some of you with complaints may have received a bad apple, but mine is not only decent, it's great! The clip is made well, the blade is beveled on both sides, and it is extremely light without being cheaply made. Mine opens so smooth and quietly that I can open it in my pocket or behind my back with ease, and I can even hold the thumb opener and snap my wrist and open it that way. For the money, this has outpaced many other 10-50 dollar knives I have owned. I'd risk buying another one for the price.

Bought this knife because it was so inexpensive and i was ordering the knife i really wanted. It's been three months now and at work and home this knife is worth* the price. The blade holds a nice edge it's light weight and solid. I work in construction and demolition so my knife gets daily use and it is holding up well.

The first one I bought was terrible. It was too hard to flick the blade out, and it would make a squeaky noise when doing so. When I did manage to get the blade out, it would jam, and I would have to pry the lock closed.

I returned it and got a new one.

This one works great! Super easy to flick out with one hand. Very smooth. Needs some sharpening, but that's a given.

First off, for the $11.21, I certainly admit this to be a good buy. However I bought this because I had lost it years ago, and was hoping to rekindle some lost flame.

I bought it at Gander Mtn. in Arizona. It was much more expensive. And it operated smooth as butter.

After opening my new one from Amazon... I am frustrated as to how difficult it is to get the knife "opening" initially with the thumb stud! I have to push up almost to the point of miscomfort.

Once open, the blade does lock quite nicely. Overall the shape, and style just don't impress me as much I guess. I would check out the SWMP1B/2B knives instead.

Now on what J. Sweaney (Kerrville Tx) said: I do not believe this is counterfeit. ([...]) They have the same knife on their website, just another color.

I received this knife in new condition, in less than a week from Amazon. It's a great knife - very light, pretty and VERY sharp. It's the easiest opening knife I've ever had, using just a thumb. It's a great addition to my knife collection. Top marks to Smith & Wesson and to Amazon.

I purchased one of these (blue in color) at a scout camp 3-4 years ago. It was a wonderful purchase. The knife is rugged and extremely comfortable in my hand. The only 2 issues i've noticed is that the action's a little tight when you first unbox it (easily fixed by loosening the bolt slightly w/ your thumb) and eventually the screws begin to come loose. After loosening the bolt slightly, it became incredibly easy to flip out with a slight wrist flick, and the second issue only arose after 4 years of ownership and use. A normal allan wrench can tighten the screws back up quite easily.

would definitely recommend this knife to anyone looking for a non-utility knife for camping or anything else.

Let's face it: you get what you pay for. This is a cheap knife.

However, for the extremely cheap price you will pay, you receive a knife that will last a couple years with day-to-day activity (opening Amazon boxes, cutting duct tape, or just showing your friends that you have a new "Smith and Wesson"). It is Smith and Wesson in name only, but should still be rated according to what you receive for such a cheap price.

Smooth, quick action and the knife hasn't loosened up any after a few months of constant use. It's not huge, but beware. It's not a tiny knife, either. Concealment is not easy.

Overall, a 4/5 star knife, which I have valued taking into account the cheap price. - Swat - Knife - Pocket Knife - Inexpensive'

Hp Photosmart B8550 - inkjet printer ink, hp photosmart

As owner of several ink jet printers before my present purchase, I found the actual combination of HP All-in-one Photo Smart Premium Technology with HP Ink quality very successful and hard to be surpassed. The easiness of cartridge(s) replacement and the sharp and crispy photographs I can get on my own, make the real difference between original HP ink cartridges and the several "no name" products on the market. HP 564XL Cyan Ink Cartridge in Retail Packaging

The shipping was fast.

The expiration date was over a year from the purchase date. This is very good because after the expiration date you can't easily use the ink cartridge, even if it is full of ink.

This ink is fine. I am sticking to the manufacturer's ink since I have had problems using non-proprietary ink with printers in the past. I just wish it was less expensive. I have switched my printer setting to the economy mode which helps the cartridge last longer. If I want better quality printing I switch it to a different setting and then put it back on the economy setting.

XL cartridges really do last longer than standard cartridges, although they are somewhat expensive. I print a lot of pictures for friends who don't use a computer often, so investing in longer-lasting ink is important. I'm glad HP has this option.

Good ol' HP. For my printer (the Photosmart Premium), these XL cartridges are the best value, especially if you do even a moderate amount of printing. Easy to install; works great. Can't ask for more than that.

Although SAMS sold the HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One C309a, they have yet to stock cartridges for the unit! Amazon is a great place to obtain the required ink cartridges at a good price and they ship free! As always, the product arrives in great condition and on time. - Inkjet Printer Ink - Hp Photosmart C6380 - 564xl - Hp Photosmart'

I bought the Nike + iPod Sport Kit, at the Apple Store on a whim, thinking I could just slip the sensor under my shoelaces. This worked for a while, but was less than elegant. The sensor would slip around and, once in a while, find its way out, even after switching the way I tied my shoes to "zipper Lacing" (look it up).

A good friend recommended I give this pouch a try. At less than $10, there was really no reason not to.

The pouch itself is clearly finely made, with durable, elastic materials and a night tight fit.

As for accurasy, initial reports were less accurate than when I had it inside my shoe. So I put a little thought and testing into it, and now it's working flawlessly!

Things to keep in mind when using the pouch:

1) Make sure the sensor is inserted correctly (so it's oriented right-way-up when attached).

2) Place it as far down your laces as you can. The closer to your toes, the flatter the top of your shoe, which makes for more accurate readings.

3) MAKE SURE that it's TIGHTLY attached to your laces. The sensor works by measuring the amount of force you step with, which is measured as shock. If it's just floppin' around on there, much of the shock will be absorbed, resulting in incorrect measurements. Really crank it down when velcro'ing it on, as though it's a part of your shoe, and you'll get the best results.

And the best part? I don't have to buy new, expensive shoes to house the transmitter! =D Marware Sportsuit Sensor Case for Nike + iPod Sport Kit for iPod nano 3G (Black)

I've run with the Marware Sportsuit Sensor Case for several months during my marathon training, and it is absolutely the best sensor pouch I have ever used. I've run with five different pouches, one of which I made. With some pouches, you are required to lace the pouch direct on to your shoes. This type of system absolutely secures your sensor, but if you are using a single sensor with multiple pairs of shoes, this it is not a practical approach. I've used other pouches that were clip-on or use similar Velcro strapping systems, but the clip-on I used wore my laces out prematurely, and the other Velcro systems did not hold well. My other observation of other pouches were that they were oversized. I bought pouches that claim to be Nike+ sensor adaptor pouches, but they looked more like a key pouch.

The Marware Sportsuit Sensor Case is a snug fit with the Nike+ sensor. The Velcro surface area is more than adequate to secure the pouch. The method of folding the sensor pouch back over itself helps keep the pouch where you install it, and works with the Velcro, not against it. Installing and uninstalling the pouch takes seconds. Without recalibrating the sensor, I get the exact same results with this pouch as receive when I run with a Nike+ shoe.

I've since given away or thrown out all of my other sensor pouches. This one is a keeper.

I suspect those that are having major accuracy issues, may have the sensor oriented upside down in the pouch. The logo side should be down when placed in the pouch, which will orient it upward when the pouch is folded over on your shoe laces. I also found that the more laces I wrapped it around (the tighter it is to the foot) the more accurate it seemed.

This iPod sensor holder looks so much better on my shoes than the huge Shoe Wallet I was using before. The only problem is that when I used it, my accuracy rate fell into an unacceptable range. I did a three mile run and it only registered 1.5 miles. I tried recalibrating, but the iPod couldn't read the sensor enough to register that I had gone ANY distance, much less 400 meters.

The second I put the sensor back into the Shoe Wallet, my accuracy rate was right back to normal. The Sport Sensor is gathering dust in a drawer now...

After reading the above reviews, I was careful and followed the instructions on placing the sensor in the pouch. I got the same reading as when the sensor was in my shoe. So, I for one, am happy with this product because I don't have to buy the 100 dollar Nike shoes to use it.

I use the sensor case with a pair of Asics Kayanos and I absolutely love it! The sensor fits in the case snugly, and I have no concerns whatsoever about the sensor falling off, incurring damage or getting lost. Like another reviewer said, keep it as far down on the laces as possible and make sure its velcroed on tightly for most accurate results.

(As a side note to this, even calibrated, my sport kit has never been 100% accurate, and this is just the nature of the device. It measures impact, so if your stride changes a little, or the sensor's not on tight, your sport kit might be a little off. Mine is always very close, which is as much as I think you can ask for.)

The only negative about the sensor case is that, when left on the shoe, it does make it just a wee bit harder to tighten the bottom laces, which is important for both running comfort and accurate metrics. I can't take any stars off for that, however. It's only a little extra effort to work the laces with the case on, and it's easy enough to take off, if needed. Overall, the reward of using the sport kit with my Kayanos is more than worth it! - Ipod Nano - Running - Ipod Accessories - Fitness'

Network Switch - gigabit, switches

Going from a NetGear to this was like moving from Detroit to the Swiss Alps. Nice and small, yet great build quality. Internet performance is more solid than with other switches I've tried over the years. One huge plus is, it doesn't get hot like the others. Good job D-Link another top-notch product. D-Link DGS-1008G 8-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch

This is a fantastic product. It's hard for some reason to find a good Gigabit Switch. Most consumer switches are 10/100, not 10/100/1000, and they sell for the same price or more than the D-Link. Prior to this, I was using several Dell 2708 switches. They ran flawlessly but are large and heavy (and made of metal). This product is tiny, mostly plastic, light, and runs cool. I also like the power saving features. The D-Link 5-port Switches, at half the price, are an excellent value.

Replaced my old Linsys Gigabit Switch with this one and "NOW I'M FLYING". "NOT ALL GIGABIT SWITCHES ARE CREATED EQUALLY!" This delivers higher than expected performance and exceeds my high expectations. I own a total of three D-Link gigabit switches. All outperforms my other Linksys versions. Get this and stop shopping, please!

Been wanting to add more Ethernet ports for a while and never knew the difference between a router and switch. Already had two routers for each service I use [have a backup since I work from home]. Did a lot of research on switches and routers and always had good luck with D-Link, and their routers and switches get good reviews, so I got a 5 port and an 8 port and they both work great and really expanded the use of my wired internet. Have not noticed any decrease in speed by adding the switches and all you have to do is plug it in, hook the cord [I use Cat6] from the router to the #1 slot and connect away.

This is a very attractive switch that I am using for Gigabit speeds with Cat6 cabling. It is small and provides 7 connections plus the uplink (which for me is port 1). If you do not need the uplink, that port can serve as your eigth connection.

I used to transfer files and do backups across my wireless network. I have recently rearranged my basement and placed all of my computers near my cable modem and wireless router. Now that I have wired the computers into this switch, which uplinks to my router, everything is blazingly fast over Gigabit cabling.

After a week of using this switch, I decided to purchase another one. It is very fast. Be warned that these switches are not stackable, due to the rounded top.

Its small, fast, reliable and sleek. Not stackable because of its rounded top. Looks nice with my home stereo setup and its lights are not annoying because they are on top and not facing forward. Never need to reset this device. Lights indicate whether a device is connected at 100 or 1000.

This is a very small and stylish 5 port switch, works great, no setup problem and it's connected to our new Belkin N1 router in our upstairs office.

The switch sits next to our Apple TV in the living room and blends in well. FYI, it's also energy efficient green as well.

Purchased this product from Amazon, great price and fast shipping. - Gigabit Ethernet Switch - Gigabit Switch - Gigabit - Switches'

Sunbeam Grill - indoor grill, fast

I bought my Rocket Grill about a week ago from the TV add. I usually shop Amazon when I see something on TV that I like but this time it looked so good I just called up and did the deal on the spot. I could have saved a few bucks had I gone to ...zon first and ordered on line.

Even so I am very pleased with the item to the point I wanted to share the experience with those now thinking of buying one.

To me the best feature is that just like the other reviews, there is no clean up. I figured that was a bit too good be true and it almost is. So far, the only clean up needed was to sponge off the lid. A very slight residue of oil will settle on the inside of the lid as the heated steam from the cooking process rises and passes through. The lid is extremely easy to remove so this kind of clean up is almost negligible.

Let me tell you, I've tried a bunch of kitchen grilling systems. There are those where I would set it and forget it, infra-red convection whiz-bang thingies with huge plastic bell shaped lid, toaster ovens of different varieties and a score of others. They all have their cooking gimmicks and most do a good job of cooking as promoted. BUT THE MESS they made always ruined it. Clean up took longer than the cooking did so after a few tries, those devices were stored and not used. Eventually they would be given to a family member (heh), sold or donated.

The Rocket Grill is a keeper and I will use it regularly. Last night I made two frozen filet mignon steaks today I heated up previously cooked rotisserie chicken, made some hot dogs and a grilled ham and cheese sandwich.

Haven't needed to wash a thing. The secret is in the parchment pouches into which the food is put and within which the food is cooked. Essentially all the grease, fat, spatter, etc is retained inside the bag. Nothing but the steam gets out. No spatter, no cooked on grease, no crumbs, no kidding !!! Nuff Said ... get it !!! You'll love it.

I will address some of the negatives that people have brought up about the Rocket Grill, but first I must say that even for a cook this device was pretty damn impressive. I got it as a gift and expected to chuck it after an obligatory attempt at "grilling". As a cook, you aren't always in the mood to create something elaborate at home. So seeing it's description I immediately decided I would limit it to dry rub grilling and expected a dried husk of chicken to appear at the end (heck, it drains away the juices, I like the juices). When I cut open the breast, I was shocked to find a perfectly cooked piece of chicken with juices gushing out of it (obviously they didn't all drain out) and the outside sufficiently grilled. It actually tasted great. I was amazed at how quick it took. I rarely eat frozen but had to try it and unexpectedly had the same result.

If you don't have to cook for a family this is an option for a quick no hassle, tasty meal. But there are some potential drawbacks I will discuss for those that are thinking about whether this is a good choice for their kitchen and lifestyle:

1. Meal for two at best: I have had no problem cooking meals for my wife and I. I usually place two items, side by side, and they are ready at the same time. I however, have a slightly larger appetite so I place a second item if desired in while I am beginning to eat. Works out even better as I have a warmer second serving that if they both came out at the same time. Sandwiches are usually a one at a time affair though and that is not as fun but I usually through the first in the warmer and the other one is done in minutes.

2. Avoid overly wet rubs: If you use a really wet rub then you will run into the issues that some have had, breaking bags. I usually use dry or slightly damp rubs, if I use a wet one I pad the excess moisture. Do this and you won't have the breaking bag syndrome.

3. If you cook there is enviromental impact! Yes, you have to use bags (recurring revenue is very lucrative for sunbeam) and that will add to what you put in landfills. However, there is the cost in the amount of water and soap used for cleaning the pots and pans if you cooked something in a more conventional method too that is completely avoided by using this device. If environment is a concern with cooking, I suggest switching to a raw food diet. The other serious concern here is the use of Silicone to make the parchment nonstick, which is non-biodegradable and which likely will also be in your food. One the other side though, many also have teflon pots and pans, so what is worse? I can't say.

4. It's only a gimmick if you don't use it. I have found a perfect and consistent use for mine...it gives me a chance to make a quick and easy, yet still intensely flavorful main course on those busy nights I don't want to spend 45 minutes cooking. I have about 10 different rubs at any given time on hand ready to go, rub it on pop it in, prep the sides and a meal for two in 10-15 minutes that tastes like it took an hour or more.

Ultimately, if you use it appropriately(drier rubs, sandwiches and the like) and are looking for a quick flavorful alternative that usually requires no clean up then this will likely be a fit for your lifestyle and not a gimmick. I have probably eaten so much teflon in my lifetime I am not put off by silicone coated parchment paper, heck I use a Silpat too. As for the landfill issue, in my mind it seems a wash with all the water and soap I would have to use to properly clean my pots and pans (or George Foreman grill) to do the same job.

However, if you need to feed more than two people at once, are looking for a really moist rub/marinade grilling experience, concerned about chemicals that may get into your food and don't trust the FDA, or find that putting silicone coated parchment paper into our landfills is worse than wasting water cleaning then this is definitely not your product. - Fast - Easy - Sunbeam Grill - Indoor Grill - Grill - Convenient'

Kindle Lighted Leather Cover - kindle accessory, kindle lighted cover

I've noticed that like myself customers have been concerned primarily with two things regarding the new lighted case from amazon. These are: 1)The weight and 2) The uneven lighting. My review will briefly discuss these two things.

1)The Weight - The lighted leather case is a nice weight, sturdy and comfortable to hold. In ounces it is about the weight of the kindle itself however don't let that concern you. With the case on it feels like a medium sized paperback, however it is far much more comfortable to hold. It's easy to hold the case open like a book (nice for couch and table type reading) or to fold the front back and close it with the bungee so that the bungee doesn't hang around (this is good for bedtime reading).Closing the front back with bungee keeps the case folded in position and you don't have to worry about it bothering you. BTW THIS CASE FOLDS BACK 100% - Very comfortable. In sum very comfortable to read with the case and very sturdy.

2) The uneven lighting - Amazon's pictures don't do this case justice. The light hits the ENTIRE screen. Yes if you look closely it's brighter in the top right corner then in the bottom left but Amazon's pics make it look the top is lighted while the bottom is dark. There is good light all over the screen. Trust me I'm fussy about these things - the lighting will not bother you, your entire screen will be lighted and it is extremely pleasant to read in the dark.

*Final Thoughts - Great case, good quality, works well, kindle feels very secure and protected (I would feel comfortable slipping this case into my backpack or suitcase and I think it would sustain some mild impact). Lastly hinges are a non-issue, casing of the kindle will not get damaged with normal or even slightly aggressive use. You could damage the kindle by trying to pull the back of the case but you'd have to really force it to cause any sort of damage to your kindle. The hinges work fine and should not be a concern to any case user.

Update 1st December 2010:

Have now been using the case for 3 months. Leather still looks impeccable. Some people expressed concern that the bungee cord might loosen with use. I have not experienced any loosening so far. Quality of the product has proven outstanding. I've occasionally spilled or messed the cover, just a wipe with a damp cloth has cleaned it up, and the case looks like new. Have to admit I enjoy the feel of the case in my hand, there's just something great about taking your kindle to a coffee shop in this case, it just looks and feels so classy. Also with regard to the hinges: I have had no scratches on my kindle or any other issues, so I remain convinced that the hinges are a non issue. Kindle Lighted Leather Cover, Black (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle)

I was hesitant to buy this cover mostly due to the pictures in its listing, which seem to show a light that doesn't even extend to the opposite corner. The fact that I have not been impressed with the Amazon's Kindle covers in the past didn't help. I went ahead and purchased it because the cover I wanted isn't available yet and I don't like to take my Kindle out and about without a cover. Now I am glad that I went ahead and bought it.

PROS:

1. The light is much better than I thought it would be. Using it in a darkened room I found that the light did the job very well. In a pitch black room, it performs even better. While the screen corner opposite the light is a bit dimmer than other areas, there is no problem reading the page at all.

2. The light gets its power from the Kindle itself, through the gold-plated hinges which attach it to the cover, so batteries are a thing of the past. When your Kindle goes to sleep, the light will go out as well. It will also turn off when you slide it back into the case.

3. The cover is slim, well-fitted and very easy to attach and detach using the hinges. The inside has good padding. The leather outer surface has a nice pebbled texture with the exception of a smooth area along the edge of the front. While stiff enough to protect the reader, the cover is slight flexible and the front easily folds behind when reading so you can hold your Kindle with one hand if you like.

4. A great plus is that the cover has an elastic cord that fits into a groove on the front of it. This holds your cover closed (unlike the original Kindle 2 cover that would flop open in your purse & let things slide into it) and easily distinguishes the front from the back--important as many owners of the Kindle 2 cover accidentally opened it from the back, which could cause cracking along the Kindle's spine.

CONS:

I haven't found any, really. The light Is a bit hard (stiff) to pull out of the cover, but then you wouldn't want it to be flopping out when you don't want to use it so that is more of a Pro than a Con.

The one concern I do have is about pulling the light in and out--I wonder if whatever wiring or conductor that is used to get the power from the hinges to the light will eventually break. But that is something to find out down the road. Right now, the more I use this cover, the more I like it. - Kindle 3 Covers - Book Light - Kindle Lighted Cover - Kindle Accessory'

Skull Candy - good value, cushioned

Note: These have an excellent, no-hassle warranty. Skullcandy will replace them for any reason, whenever - just go to their website, register your product, and fill out the warranty form.

Firstly, I want to mention a few important tidbits that I think you should know.

1. Pay attention to the L and R on these earbuds, which can be hard to see. Do not reverse them, as doing so can affect fit and sound quality.

2. Don't assume you know which gel size will fit you best; make sure you try on all 3 gel sizes that come with these, as using the wrong size can dramatically decrease sound quality and comfort. For myself, I automatically went with the smallest size because my ears are small, but those made the earbuds sound like cheap garbage. It wasn't until I tried the next size up did I get the full quality of sound that these are designed for. So pay attention to this, since it really matters.

3. These have a straight plug, not an L-shaped plug. So you will need to be extra careful as a straight-plug design increases the amount of pressure both on the plug, and the headphone jack of your player. This leads to frayed wires or a loosening of the headphone jack, or both, which ultimately lead to the classic problem of only one side having sound.

4. The cord is long - measures approximately 4 feet, 5 inches.

5. Burn-in works with these. Slightly.

Now, as for the build quality - I'm impressed. They are not cheaply made ear-buds, despite their low price. The wires are nice and solid, and feel very well made - not flimsy or plastic-y. The silicone gels (tips that go in your ear) are very soft and pliable, and even have the Skullcandy logo engraved on them. Nice touch.

They feel good, too. Really good. Both the material, and the way they fit my annoyingly small ears. And they don't fall out constantly, although I do sometimes get the sensation that it's getting sucked into my left ear.

And yes, these come with 3 different size gels.

Sound is great. These handle bass extremely well for mid-tier earbuds, and highs aren't so shrill and piercing as with other comparable brands. Some of this really depends on your player, too. Even between iPods, sound quality does differ.

As far as functionality goes, I find I am able to run with these with no problem. The wires do not get tangled, and you can easily adjust the split in them with an attached slider (that has 'Skullcandy' written on it in the corresponding colour), which I find very convenient. I do not hear this thumping sound that others claim to hear from wire-movement, so I can't confirm that.

The only things I dislike are the straight plug, and the lack of a case. Otherwise, I am thoroughly impressed with Skullcandy. The craftsmanship, the quality of sound, and all the little extras that Skullcandy does that really lets you know that they are paying attention, and that they care about their products and end-users.

Worth every penny. Skullcandy INK'd Earbuds S2INCZ-035 (Blue)

Purchased the headphones about a week ago and I'm very pleased. I previously had the JVC Marshmallows and loved those headphones, but one of the earbud sleeves came off and the new JVC's are designed differently so I decided to give these a try. They produce very clear sound with solid bass. I was also surprised by the fit on the silicon caps that come with these. I have a difficult time finding silicon caps that will stay in my ear so I usually stick to foam, but these headphones came with three different sizes of caps and the smallest size fits and stays in without a problem. I will also say that I bought the Comply Foam Tips recently and am currently using those on these headphones (since I already had them) but once these wear out then I will stick with the silicon tips that came with these headphones because they will probably last longer. All in all, great purchase!

I purchased my Skullcandy Ink'd ear buds almost two years ago, and now that I need to lay them to rest I thought I would write a review on them.

First off, don't think that they are cheaply made because mine broke. From what I have been reading, two years is a good deal of time to have working headphones, especially at the low price of under 20 bucks! If I have to say, I provably contributed to the heavy wear of the jack that plugs into my computer (it is in the front of my laptop, so when the computer slides close to my lap the jack gets pinched).

Construction:

--

Being my first pair of non-stock earphones, I don't really have much to say in terms of construction, but as previously mentioned they lasted a helluva long time, so that should carry some weight. Speaking of weight, these buds feel light, but not so much that they feel cheap. Even after a couple of years the wires are intact, and I have had no problems with them up until a couple days ago (one ear bud stopped working, probably due to abuse). The only problem I would say has carried any weight in this department has to be the the fact that the rubber coated wires make a noticable sound through the buds when tapped or rustled (almost sounds like a heartbeat). This could probably be fixed with some comply foam tips instead of the stock silicone ones.

Sound Quality:

--

I listen to a variety of music genres through these things, and I can safely say that the sound quality is great across the spectrum. Anything from the highs and mids from classical to the deep undulating bass from dub-step can be heard clearly. They might not hold in a battle against some $100+ buds, but for this price they are awesome.

All in all, I am rating the Ink'd buds a 4/5, only because of the sound producing wires (see 'Construction'). If I could give it a 4.5 I would. - Earbuds - Good Value - Comfortable - Cushioned'

Pc Vga To Tv Converter - pc to tv converter, pc vga to tv converter

I receive the vga to hdmi converter 3 0r 4 days ago. Hooked it up to my 32 inch lcd tv. Had to select 1280x720 so my tv would pick it up. That resolution effects was very blurry on the pc, hurt my eyes. On the tv, picture was not worth watching because of the blurriness. Too much straining of the eyes. Going to send it back to Amazon. This can happen on your lcd tvs. Save yourself some money and spend it on a LCD that has a Video INPUT. Just connect a vga cable so it can connect to your pc and the other end to the lcd tv, YOU BE GLAD YOU DID. VGA and Audio to HDMI Converter Computer PC VGA Video + 3.5mm Audio to 1080P HDMI HDTV Converter Adapters Box

Did everything that it was advertised to do, couldn't beat the amazon price such a great price, compared this with other compatiable devices which were simliar to this one, This is a hands down winner

I highly recommend it

I have spend too many hours trying to get this device working with my computer and plasma 42 inch screen and gave up.

When the computer starts with the device connected to the plasma tv, it starts showing the Windows XP Professional logo beautifully and once the mouse arrow should come into movement, the PC VGA Video Device stops working on TV screen and the notebook takes over.

I have tried with the video setting at all diferent resolutions. The ATI Video Card has many settings and nothing seems to work.

All Toshiba Satellite Notebooks have the "Function Key" which works great with videobeams.

You press the "Fn" key and holding this key press F5 and you can choose if you want one or both screens to show.

At this moment, I feel very frustrated with the device and have no phone to call since the device is Chinesse and most of the instructions are in Mandarin.

I am presently in Costa Rica, Central America and international cost per minute is 35 cents to USA.

Can somebody help me recommending a reliable or more standard device? or providing me with a viable solution? Txs

This product did not work with my Panasonic Viera HDTV. I'm not sure what the cause of the compatibility problems are. When my laptop was hooked up to the TV, I could see the Windows startup screen but as soon as I booted up Windows, I couldn't get anything from the laptop screen to show up on the TV screen again. I tried manipulating my laptop's video card settings to align with the TV's settings, but still no luck. Eventually, after hours of reading up on the internet, I had to give up. Fortunately, amazon.com took the product back and refunded me in whole. Silver lining. - Pc Vga To Tv Converter - Pc To Tv Converter'
