Digital Photography Book - rick sammon, digital photography

As a photographer and owner of both a Canon G10 and a full-frame DSLR camera, I found this book to be an excellent source of information for both formats. As always, Rick writes in a manner that is easy to understand and fun to read. If you are trying to determine if you need a full-frame DSLR or if a compact camera will do the trick, this book is definitely for you. It is also the perfect book to help DSLR owners see the advantages of owning a compact camera in addition to their DSLR. As Rick points out, the most important thing is not always how great a shot you get, but that you actually do get the shot. You can take a compact camera with you anywhere and always have the ability to capture precious memories--not so with an DSLR.

Virtually all of the photos in the book were taken by Rick with his Canon G10 compact camera. Rick also includes photos taken with his SLR to demonstrate just how difficult it can be to tell the difference between the two formats. In one chapter, Rick shows photos from both cameras side-by-side and asks the reader to try and guess which photos were taken with the compact camera and which were taken with the DSLR. In this fun and educational exercise, the reader is told that the answers are on the last page of the chapter, but Rick asks that the reader not turn to the answer page...but instead to really examine the photos to see if they can guess which ones were taken with the compact camera.

Rick does a fabulous job of pointing out the differences between what a compact camera can do versus a DSLR. After reading Rick's book it will be easy for you to determine which camera will work in different situations. Rick lists the pros and cons of the compact camera, but does confess that he takes his compact camera everywhere (just as I do).

In addition to doing a superb job of helping you learn how to use both a compact and DSLR, Rick takes you all the way from the beginning of the photo process--"making the picture"--all the way through to enhancing your images with Adobe Photoshop Elements, using Plug-in's, HDR and Infrared imaging, shooting panoramas, calibrating your computer monitor and printing your images.

If you can purchase only one book to learn all of the aspects of great photography, buy "Confessions of a Compact Camera Shooter". You will not be disappointed. Confessions of a Compact Camera Shooter: Get Professional Quality Photos with Your Compact Camera

This book was informative and enlightening. An easy and at times humorous read. Also good to keep as a reference. It encouraged me to continue using my compact camera to take great pictures and also showed me how with many tips and recommendations. It was positive and affirming to hear a professional such as Rick say that he got great pictures using both a compact and a DSLR. And to hardly be able to see the difference in the pictures in the book was pleasantly surprising. Great illustrations and suggestions.

I will definitely take my compact camera with me to Italy next year and hopefully capture some winning pictures. This Book is a Winner!, for an amateur like me and also for more advanced photographers as well. You can always learn something new as Rick Sammon points out in this book.

This is a book long overdue on the market. There are many great "how to" books on using a DSLR (which by the way, Rick Sammon has written many of them), but finally there is a book to help the compact camera users in making better pictures without using a DSLR. The book is written is Rick's chatty, very clear and concise, "how to" method, which allows the most novice of a user to feel comfortable and confident with their compact camera to begin shooting the pictures they were always hoping to capture. Rick, suffice to say, another winner from a prolific author on photography.

It is always interesting to read other reviews, including negative reviews to understand why someone is critical of aspects of a book. However, for the life of me, I could not correlate the D. Boucher's critique, with Rick's book. D. Boucher either was reading a different book or perhaps has not read the entire book, because if D. Boucher has completed the book, and was objective, I can not imagine this type of critique.

If you own a compact camera, your picture taking will definitely improve once you read the book.

The book has some nice photography tips and some of the excellent pictures show that you really can get great pictures from a compact camera. However, I didn't find it a treasure trove of tips that helped me for compact cameras. Not sure there is so much that can be offered.. but it could have had a list of common problems and solutions.

Even where there were obvious points to be made, the author doesn't make them. For example, as the author points out, shutter lag is one of the most significant problems with compact cameras. He tells you what it is but doesn't give you tips for minimizing this problem such as prefocusing before an important shot. There is no excuse for this.

Some problems I have weren't addressed.. Every compact camera I have had has had flash that is too bright. There are lots of solutions for this (adjusting ev/flash, tape, paper over flash etc) but this doesn't give those. It doesn't give tips on getting inexpensive accessories (like getting extra batteries on Ebay or amazon - no opinions whether non OEM batteries work well (in my experience they do and can be much less expensive.. same goes for chargers etc)).

Tips are very general, usually not particular to compact cameras....and not helpful to any frequent camera user much less an avid amateur photographer.

I have broken two cameras due to sand in the gears from use on the beach. There was no info on this and how to avoid.

Overall, this is a teaser...without real "meat" - Digital Photography - Digital Photography Book - Photography - Rick Sammon'

Screwdriver - screwdriver, drill

I needed an adapter to connect my sockets to my cordless drill. I came across these on Amazon for only $3.50. I really only needed them for one repair project I was working on, so I didn't care if they only lasted me for the one use. To my amazement, the are actually built really strong! My Stanley sockets and drive extensions snap on really tight. Actually almost too tight. I had to really pull to get them off. Which is fine with me. I would rather they be on tight then fall off every 30 seconds.

You get 3 adapters to fit sockets for: 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch and, 1/2 inch.

I am so glad I opted to buy this set vs. just the 3/8 inch one I found at our local Home Depot. Home Depot had the one adapter for almost twice as much as this whole set. In the end I ended up needing the 1/2 inch too so it was so worth buying the whole set.

The quality of these way surpassed my expectations. Now, instead of throwing them away after my project was complete like I expected, I am put them in my tool box with my sockets. I definitely will be using these more often! 3 Pc. Power Extension Socket Adaptor for Drills

Its just a set of cheap china set of Socket Adapter for Drills. Already broke four. They should work okay for the home owner. I knew what I was buying, its not the sellers fault. At the breakage rate I am having= craftsman. For a little more money= made in USA, forged, not cast cheap metal. The seller is great. Its just a cheap product.

Amazing how many items come through my house requiring assembly with sockets or hex keys. These guys take the socket wrench out of my hand and replace it with a drill ... They've gotten me back to the sofa ahead of schedule on many a weekend. Make sure to adjust the torque on the drill to avoid over tightening - can pretty easily damage what you're working on OR twist the drill out of your hand. Only concern I've noted is that the finish seems to have tarnished over time.

I have purchased two of these from the same seller via amazon. The first set was perfect and exactly like in the picture with one slot in the shaft for the bearings in the driver chuck to connect. I liked it, and ordered another to have one in a dedicated portable tool chest. The second set was ordered using the same link, but was not the same socket adapters at all. There were two slim slots in the shaft and got immediately stuck in my dewalt 18 volt impact driver. I had to rip it out with the assistance of vice-grips and persistent knocking with a second wrench. The first set is nice, but the second almost damaged my far more expensive tool.

For three of these in decent quality they are good for the price. Now I can use my cordless screwdriver for bolts on my car, going to be much nicer at taking things apart than using a ratchet that takes forever. I recommend these.

This served the purpose of exactly what I needed, to be able to use my drill with my many socket sets. And for only a few dollars, I cant complain. Obviously this was not made for impact wrenches, but then again neither are drills. :) - Extension - Drill - Screwdriver - Socket'

L T Beasimer - apple, ipad 2

First of all, I want to expand on purpledoxie's point of the case being unstable in the vertical position. While the case is rock solid in landscape mode, in portrait (ipad standing vertically) it is not nearly as solid. If I press lightly I don't seem to have any problems, but if I forget and press 'normally' then it can knock the ipad out of the groove in the case and it will fall. Also, this is only a problem for the top 1/3 of the screen area, the rest of the screen is so close to the fulcrum it doesn't matter how hard you press on it. This isn't a huge problem for me, especially since there are so few apps that I prefer to use in portrait mode (Skype being one of them), but it is annoying for sure. I think deeper grooves in the case would solve this problem, perhaps they will wear in and this will go away? I have found that I can rest the thumb of my other hand against the base of the device while in portrait mode and that will keep it from jumping out of the slot, and that is good enough for me as much as I use that feature.

What makes this case a winner in my book is the stability in landscape mode. When I first got the case I was undecided, but after just a couple of days it won me over in a big way. Unlike the smart cover and apples original trifold cases, you can actually press on the screen and type normally and this case will not fall over. I have used it on my lap in the car, on my center console in the truck, on my chest while laying in bed watching movies on it, and (of course) on desks/tables/etc. and it works great in every situation! The rest of the case is nice too. It is 7/8" thick with the Ipad2 inside and looks really nice. I have already received several compliments on it. I use my Ipad2 for work and something that looked professional was important. Apple's pastel covers don't look very nice to me and I wasn't about to pay $70 for the leather ones that aren't ugly. This case also protects almost the entire device, whereas Apple's cover protects only the screen. I am very happy with this case, and would recommend it to anyone that doesn't use lots of apps in portrait mode. Targus Versavu 360 Degrees Rotating Stand Case for Apple iPad 2 2nd Generation Wifi / 3G Model 16GB, 32GB, 64GB THZ045US NEWEST MODEL (Black/Blue Interior)

Recently received this case and it is beautifully crafted, slim and light.

The interior is a beautiful matte blue/gray and the exterior is lined with a bright sky blue thread, which might prove to be a little too feminine for male buyers.

The 360 action swivels with ease without being overtly loose or hard to turn.

The case's only downfall is that it uses a thick, tight elastic band to keep it shut. This is where a magnet would have worked wonderfully.

Overall a great case, I'd like to see it's swivel design implemented in other color options, mainly black, charcoal, etc.

I love the look and feel of the case. It is nice and slim, yet seems to protect the iPad well. My concern is with the ability to use the iPad while it is standing. If you are simply reading or watching a video, the stand works fine. The problems begin if you are actually being interactive with the iPad while it is in standing position, because more than a feather of a touch and it falls over. You can not use it in the standing position if you need to interact with the screen.

So sad... it looks like I'll be returning this one.

was worried that getting the ipad early would mean struggling to find a good case (i refused to drink the kool-aid on the apple covers). but i found this case in best buy and really really like it. its sturdy, professional appearing, and tailored for the new ipad. the only cons are the elastic band for closure (they tailored it for the new ipad, i am not sure why they didn't use magnets with the auto on/off feature as with covers, unless apple kept that technology under wraps leading up to the launch), slight bulkiness, and standing it up portrait there is a little instability. Overall though, I am very happy with this case.

Pros:

-Ability to stand and rotate the iPad in either portrait or landscape view is a nice feature, and if I'm not mistaken, exclusive to this case

-The exposed Apple logo and stitching make for a great looking case with distinctive looks

-Nice leather exterior

-Microfiber/faux suede interior should keep the iPad clean

Con(s):

-I don't care much for the elastic band used to keep the case shut-- It seems inelegant and will probably be awkward in use (I may change my opinion on this one once I actually buy my iPad)

The microfiber/faux suede, ample leather, and distinctive styling, when combined with the ability to carry and position the iPad in a multitude of directions makes for a fantastic fusion of form and function.

Will my opinion change once I actually put the case into use?

Perhaps, but for now, I'm impressed. - Apple - Ipad 2 - Stand - Targus'

Dell Latitude - laptop batteries, dell latitude

When my Dell Laptop Battery stopped holding a charge, I looked at how much Dell wanted for a replacement one - $130+!!!! Saw this battery for $27 and thought I'd give it a shot. What a suprise! It works perfectly. It charges up fast, keeps a charge and doesn't get as hot as my original one. What a deal! It's a bargain and an excellent product! New Laptop Replacement Battery for Dell Inspiron 500m 510m 600m Series, Latitude D500 D505 D510 D520 D600 D610 Series, Precision M20, Mobile Workstation M20, 4400mAh, 6 cells

I don't usually rate these kind of things, but I bought two of these batteries for a Dell Latitude D600, and I am very happy with them. Both came with a charge, but I charged them up overnight anyway. With a full charge, both batteries held up for more than two hours while running a hard drive scan. The scan runs the processor, the hard drive and the fan, so it puts a good load on the battery. I've had them for only a couple of weeks, so I can't comment on long term life, but so far they are working very well. With a one year warranty, it's a good battery for the price. The energy rating is 4400 mAh. The originals are 4700 mAh.

Battery arrived in a reasonable time and performed as expected. Some negative reviews mention that the battery does not hold its charge as long as expected. This replacement battery holds its charge exactly as long as the original did (less than two hours with wireless enabled).

Excellent battery! Perfect fit! Inserted it into my laptop and it fired right up. So far the charge has been good and strong with no problems at all. Excellent price considering the prices Dell and Batteries Plus charge for replacement batteries. Good value, great quality. - Replacement - Laptop Batteries - Dell Latitude - Laptop Battery'

Speaker Cables - audio, audio cables

This cable would be OK for a set of headphones but you should not use it in the signal path between a source device, like an MP3 player or computer, and an amplifier. The shielding is so poor in this cable that it will pickup a considerable amount of 60Hz EMI (aka hum) and you won't like the results.

I bought this cable to connect my high-end Dell portable computer to the Sony pre-amplifier unit of my home entertainmenet system. I wanted to use my portable as an MP3 player since it's a lot easier to program and create playlists on a 17" computer screen than any of the portable MP3 players I've seen. When I had everything hooked up I experienced a very noticeable hum from my stereo speakers even before starting the player application on the computer. At first I thought I had a ground loop so I removed all other external cables (power, usb, ethernet) from the computer, running it on battery only. Still the hum persisted. Even with the AUD-1100-25 cable unplugged from the computer the hum persisted.

I then replaced the AUD-1100-25 with a pair of RCA cables w/ RCA to 1/8" stereo adapters and the hum went away. The RCA cables were hand-made with some quality shielded cable with the connectors hand-soldered by me. What a difference. So, that's what I ended up using.

Although I think Monster Cables and the like are a way over-priced, this product has gone too far in the other direction. I don't recommend this item if you're going to use it in an application that will amplify the signal (and noise) coming through the cable. It's easy to see why this cable is so cheap. Cables Unlimited AUD-1100-25 3.5mm Male to Male Stereo Cable (25 Feet, Black)

I bought this cable 4 months back. I noticed few days back it is playing only one side of speakers. Not working for stereo. Only one side at a time. Even tough I used this cable very rarely for my Creative speakers.

Now I will look for another cable.

Whenever the cable bends near the connector the audio crackles. Tried with different cable and it doesn't crackle. I wish I got a higher quality cable.

**update** Crackling is tolerable if you don't move the cable near the connectors. Works but not highest quality. added 1 star to 3 stars.

You do get a lot of cord (25ft) but for it costs less than what you can find in most stores for the 6ft cord. It works great for car ipod/auxillary jack which is what I purchased it for. I would recommend it. Just keep the extra cord tied up unless you need the full 25ft unravelled.

This was a perfect solution for running audio from my PC in a bedroom to the stereo in the living room. This, coupled with HDMI-M to DVI-M Cable, 25 FT / 7.6 M and Logitech Wireless Desktop MK320 with Keyboard and Mouse along with RiteAV - 3.5mm to RCA Stereo Female Cable - 6 inch have allowed me to use my primary PC as an HTPC without spending all the money on a separate system.

There isn't too much you can say about a stereo audio cable. It works fine and I haven't been able to hear any discernible distortion. I have 3 of these running from my desktop under a rug and past an unshielded 10in sub-woofer to my Z-5500's and it sounds great.

Pros:

+ Really long chord, I didn't quite realize how long 25 ft was.

+ Thin cable, easily hidden under rug

+ Black chord, easily hidden

+ Low cost

Cons:

- Some concerning reviews talking about distortion that worried me

- No Amazon prime free shipping?

Amazing product, shipped within two days arrived in a week. Packaged in a gray bag and inside was plastic bag with the cable.

It's 25ft long, I underestimated it's length when I purchased and it ended up being longer than needed. Nevertheless the sound quality from ipod/mp3 players etc are crystal clear.

No complaints only complements,

Thank you for a wonderful product!

Dvd Storage - cd wallet, cd holder

I totally love this Cd Wallet- it is not too big and not too small. The construction of this piece is very sturdy. I've owned this for a while now and it still looks new. The color is a classic, the only problem I have with it is that the CD pockets are very flimsy other than that the exterior of this piece is unbelievable. I love it!!! I actually bought another one, oh another note do be careful because the if you don't handle the zipper with care it tends to get caught. But nothing major :) Case Logic CDW-128 128 Capacity Classic CD Wallet (Black)

This is most definatley a great product. I have owned an old CDW-64 holder and I bought a new one about a year ago the same style as this CDW-128. Both are extremley sturdy and have held up quite well even with the abuse I put them through. I just bought this product and find it equal to the quality of those. While padding could be a little better to prevent CD scratching, it comes as close to perfect as possible and is definatley a great buy.

I have case logic CD wallets from 7+ years ago that are still in good shape...despite the abuse I put them through. I bought this one only because of CD collection expansion. I find simply wiping off the outside cover with a wet sponge keeps it clean. The nylon covers really hold up over time. Remember- the "128 cd capacity" refers to CDs without their accompaning booklets. It's really 64 CDs with booklets.

Nice product before they decided to save a few pennies - I have purchased seven, but now it is made with out the handle - so if that was part of the atraction of this case, note that the discription says 'sturdy padded handle' -- NOT!

5 STARS if it still had the handle or if you don't need one.

I have put this case through some abuse, mostly throwing it around unzipped completely full among other things, and it has never scratched a DVD, had a sleeve rip, and the zipper still works wonderfully. I have since bought a second smaller one and have been happy with that one too.

This is one great price, if your looking for a case get it! Don't be throwing this around or letting it be in a car where your feet go-it can rip. Overall it's great quality, keeps cd's clean, good looks, durable-highly reccommend.!

I picked this piece not for our music CDs or our movie DVDs, but for all the operating manuals and CDs that our house and office have gotten overloaded with.

It has been the greatest organizing I've done in a long while. All the CDs and operating manuals are now zipped into one place. Need to re-load a program? I can find the CD, the code, and the booklet in a snap.

No more pawing through desk drawers, thinking, "It's in here somewhere."

Burning stacks of discs and need storage? These big black binder will do the job at a good price. The pages are big and floppy. They nylon covers not too ridgid or too thick. Are there better quality albums out there? No doubt. Is there a cheaper way to acceptably store stacks of discs? I doubt it. This sure beats leaving them in piles all over the place.

We decided to put all of our mystery dvd sets in this walletCase Logic® CD/DVD Wallet Holds 144 CDs, Nylon, Black. I know there are bigger sizes that hold more but we didn't want it too heavy to work with. This is adequate for our needs. It has the row of spaces inside the front cover where we put the liner notes of the movies and we were able to fit in all our mystery dvd sets of Murder She Wrote, Columbo, and Quincy with room to spare. Very pleased with the quality. I've used Case Logic products before and we've had a couple of the smaller binders with computer games discs stored in it for years and never had a problem with scratching discs or the zippers. In all the years we've only had one small tear in one of the storage pockets but that's it. - Cd Holder - Dvd Binder - Case Logic - Cd Wallet'

Pms  condition - progesterone, progesterone cream

I have tried several different progesterone creams and this is my favorite. I love the feel of the cream and especially the rosemary scent. I've tried more expensive and well-known brands and have not had the success I have had with this one. One of the more expensive brands made me break out in a rash. So I'm not buying this because it is cheaper; it's just better! I sleep better and feel calmer.Source Naturals Progesterone Cream, 4 Ounce

This is the best Progesterone cream for the price. I've tried others that were more expensive, and didn't do much for any of my symptoms.

When I had my baby my Progesterone levels dropped very low so I needed something that would help with my moods, hot flashes, and is natural with less side effects.

This cream was the one that did all of that for me, thanks to Source Naturals I feel like my self again.

I was feeling old, let's just face it at 61 I had suddenly developed a general drying up feel. I remembered having read up on progesterone cream about 10 years ago. I actually gave it a try; but the mess of using it did me in within a couple of months and I stopped its use. Just six weeks ago I went to the local health food store and chose this brand because it was about half the price of the others. The saleslady assured me it was a good brand. I used it twice a day (no messy feel as I had remembered) and it felt as if I actually had my reproductive system come alive, somehow it felt as if I could feel my system actually becoming 20 again. Actual physical premenstrual little twinges began to occur. I stopped using the cream twice a day after the second week and instead used it only once a day. I reached the end of the first three week time period and stopped for the recommended week. I started again after seven days and BAM almost overnight somewhere between the first and second week of the second period I was renewed! It felt as if 25 years had dropped away. It looked as if the former vital me was in place again. Even my hair changed which I cannot figure out. People who had known me thought I had had my hair redone somehow, it was that obvious. The store ran out today as I was replacing the tube. I decided to get the brand that was available; but I am now seeing that the price is about half through Amazon for what I really want and received great benefits from. Why would I not purchase it and continue to use it? It is that miracle that every now and then we get lucky enough to have. Try it!

I have been using this cream for about a month, I noticed it working after about 2 weeks. The hot flashes are less intense and less often, I was having them every hour, now maybe 5 a day. My moods are better, my sex drive is back. Love the smell of this cream. I will continue using this product.

I thought I had the flu. Then I realized after 2 weeks of night sweats, hot hot hot flashes, nausea and irritability, that it was peri-menopause or menopause hitting me worse than ever before. I'm fifty-ish. So, I went online to do lots of research and decided that among other things, progesterone creme might be the answer to part of the midlife imbalance. Can't afford and don't want to take bio-identical or prescription replacement hormones, and can't afford the liver damage they lead to in some people...the Source Naturals had a lot of write-ups and good reviews, and with their price on Amazon being excellent, I ordered 3 tubes.

Long story short, the source naturals started improving my energy level and mood almost immediately and, no more trouble with the hot flashes and insomnia! Amazing! I also bought black cohosh, red clover, ladywort and licorice herbs from a community health market and began drinking green tea brewed with these herbs daily. Immediate improvement. oh, and a teaspoon or less of kelp powder a day in warm water...I've done the creme for twenty days now and now do not use it for seven days before starting the routine daily use of 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. of Source Naturals again. I plan to keep it up because I can't stand feeling badly!

I've used it a full 2 days and noticed a marked improvement in my hair. Not going through menopause but have found out I have a low progesterone. One side effect is hair loss. This AM I brushed my hair and there was almost no hair in my brush! I am VERY happy.

I had 2 periods a month for over 2 years, and all the Dr's I went told me I needed to gain weight and go on the pill. I'm 25 and I've been the same weight since high school without dieting and I don't trust the pill's long term effects. So, I was stuck. Then I read that most irregular flows are caused by an imbalance of progesterone, not estrogen, like the Dr's were telling me. My mom was using this product for her menopause and said it was working great and she sent me a tube in the mail. I've been using this cream for about 6 months now, and I have a regular flow with no side effects (unlike the pill). It took several months for my body to adjust out of the 2 week cycle, but now I don't have any problems. Not everyone with an irregular flow may have the same result I did, but it's inexpensive and worth a try! - Perimenopause - Progesterone Cream - Progesterone - Pms  condition'

Emergency Kit - camping, emergency kit

This five foot Camp Chef Hose feels like it is made from heavy materials. The small brass fitting works very well on all of my camping accessories like propane stoves, heaters, and of course my new Camp Chef Stove/Oven. The larger plastic fitting that connects to the bulk sized tanks is well constructed, but feels like it could have been made from stronger material. I worry that it could be possible to strip the treads if one was to over tighten the fitting. So far everything has worked superbly. Camp Chef Bulk Tank Hose/Adapter

This is a really helpful item to have in the camping/camper/rv kit. You just never know when you will run out of the small bottles of propane and you can attach this to the larger bottles and keep going! - Emergency Kit - Coleman - Camping - Cooking'

Self-stick Notes

These 2 inch by 2 inch classic post-it note pads are very good for making brief notes to yourself--or, of course, notes to other people. Despite the fact that people these days often use their computer calendars to remind them of appointments and things to do, these note pads remain good sellers in stores--which is great proof that they work! Just write your note and use the adhesive on the top of the back to attach your note in the place where it needs to be seen!

I also like the fact that these post-it notes come in several different colors in the package. This allows people to color code their notes to themselves or others. Wonderful!

Unfortunately, however, the adhesive sticky substance on the reverse of the post-it note is not as strong as I would like it to be. All too often these notes loose their ability to stay stuck in the right place until people who need their reminders can use them. I probably wouldn't use this product on a refrigerator for days at a time--it could well simply fall off and flutter right on in under the fridge! Even on flat surfaces this has been a problem.

This is a great product but obviously I cannot ignore the flaw that I just told you about. I give it four stars for being good and useful in several different colors--but not great. The manufacturer needs to strengthen the adhesive portion on the reverse of the post it notes. Post-it® Notes, Original Cube, 1 7/8 inches x 1 7/8 inches, Assorted Neon and Ultra Colors, One Pad per Pack

I know this is my fault - I did not read the description closely enough - but these are really small Post-Its. When it said "original cube", I didn't bother to pay attention to the dimensions. But these are not the "normal" sized Post-Its. So, even though it is described clearly... If you want a regular cube of Post-Its - don't buy this.

When I'm at work I like to use these post it notes since people always give me phone numbers and names to write down. They're just so convenient. I can place them anywhere that I'll easily remember thanks to the adhesive back edge. The new springs colors are nice too, and nice change from the standard boring old yellow notes I'm used to.

My biggest issue with these though is the adhesive. They're always too weak, so I need a small piece of tape to attach it to my computer monitor, desk, etc. Another minor issue is the bend it creates when ripping a sheet off. The top sticky rim seems to bend upward due to the motion you use when pulling the note off.

They're still handy, and I'll keep using them. I do recommend them!

I love post-it notes! They have so many uses. This cute has small post-it notes, just under 2 inches by 2 inches. I use them as markers in the books, cook books, manuals and notebokes.

They help keep me organized. I like that they come in different colors, so I can color-code my bookmarks.

They provide enough room to write a small notation, but this size is not very good writing notes as there is not a lot of room. But they are perfect for marking!'

Multitool - tool, rotary tool accessories

Even though these aren't official Dremel bits and tools, I'm very happy with the value I got on this set. Lots and lots of stuff here. Probably more than I'll use, but I think I'll keep trying. I'm just getting in to using my Dremel, so this is a perfect starter kit for me.

I'm thrilled with it. Rotary Tools Set 216 Pieces - Rotary Tool Accessories - Crafts - Tool - Bits'

Slim Jewel Cases

These cases are durable and colorful! None of that dull black or transparent stuff. They're made from the company that makes the best CD-Rs, Verbatim. Definitely snag the 100pk of the ValueLife CD-Rs. They're great because they have no logos or typing on the front of the Disc. So, if you want to make labels, there's no risk of anything showing through. Plus, the CDs are of such high quality. I've never had a problem with any of them and I've purchased at least 300 Verbatims by now. If you're looking for the 100pk, I recommended it in addition to this product above. Don't clutter up your CD rack with bulky, brittle, and dull jewel cases. Use these! Verbatim 94178 Slim CD and DVD Storage Cases, 5 Assorted Colors, 50-Pack

This item arrived in a rather large box, with paper to separate it from a pack of CD's on the same order. This item arrived with 8 cases broken, (16% damage.) 4 on each end were broken. 4 blue and 4 yellow.

These cases are very light weight, and brittle. Large package would be a real hassle to try and return, this is one of those times that you eat your loss, and remind yourself that often low price is synonymous with low quality. With this much breakage, not a good deal.

Since this is a product review I must give the product 5 stars. However the way it was packed for shipping was not so good. The cases came in a box with no cushion of any kind. It just rattled freely in the box. Of course there was some broken. There was 3 broken and it could have easily been more. In the future I will buy fragile items in the store where I can see if there is any damage. This isn't the first time something has arrived from Amazon broken due to bad packaging.

Verbatim 94178 Slim CD and DVD Storage Cases, 5 Assorted Colors, 50-Pack

2/5's of the top portions of the jewel case covers which holds the CD and DVD liners have the connections that secure them to the bottom portion of the CD and DVD cases, which holds the CD's and DVD's, have connections

broken off on one side or the other.

The cases are great for minimizing the space that DVDs take. The color makes them nice for shelf display. I put all of my movies in these, and now they are all on one small shelf, alphabetically by genre. Before the movies were spread all over the place. They hold disc well and are well designed for ease of release of the disc. Indeed, some of the cases had holding mechanisms that made disc removal hard. Easy disc removal means less likelihood of cracking the disc upon removal. A few did arrive cracked, but Amazon quickly took care of me with a partial refund. I would order from Amazon and just check the pack carefully when you receive.'

Garmin Carrying Case

This case is absolutly perfect for my Garmin Nuvi 255W (with room on both sides while in the case if you had a slightly wider gps, but fits snug for height). Much better quality than what pictures appear, and great for the price! (I paid 9.50). Nice and sturdy, and would definitely protect my garmin if I dropped it in the case. It is not hard like plastic, but rather has a synthetic fabric feel to the outside. This case would not fit any other cords, so if you're looking for something to hold your charger or stand/mount, this would not work. I'm just going to keep them seperate in my arm rest holder. Plus, the side pocket inside the case is perfect if you had any gas cards, coupons, or some spare just-in-case cash. It's a nice place to keep everything together. The zipper is high quality, and has a rubber covering on the part that you zip so it is more comfortable and won't scratch anything around it where it is being stored. The case includes a wrist strap (just like photo) and the ring/hook attached to the case to attach to the strap is sturdy and will definitely not break. Also, in the inside along the SD card holders flap, it has small elastic bands that would hold a ~4 inch-long pen/pencil if you ever needed a place to store one. Since it is usually wise to keep your gps with you when you leave your car (incase somebody were to break in and steal it from your car in a parking lot or something) having that pen holder is nice if you were to also include a shopping list in the side pouch. This is a really well thought out design for a gps case.

Overall, I would definetly reccommend this case to anyone I knew with a gps that would fit it. It is the perfect size (small, compact) and sturdy enough for protection. Great size for getting out of the car and throwing it in my purse to go get groceries/shop. Totally worth it, no regrets!! Compact Premium GPS Carrying Case for Garmin Nuvi 255W 4.3"

This left me wondering if maybe there was a better choice. I will say that the case holds the GPS unit, the car charger and the USB cable; as a matter of fact I think the case seems bulky (measures LxWxH = 5"x6"x3"). However, in spite of that bulkiness, I am disappointed in the fact that I have to bend the cord on the car charger very close to the charger plug, a notorious shorting point for an electronic power component, and it makes me worry that down the road I might have problems with the charger because of the way it has to be stored in this case.

I got this case on impulse when I bought a Garmin 255W. (Amazon is so good at promoting impulse buying.) The case is fine, and well made, as the other reviews have stated.

Trouble is, it's just a bit bigger than it needs to be to fit a standard Garmin wide-screen GPS (do I need those little pockets for storing 3 memory cards? not really), but it's too small to hold the GPS AND the car power supply cord. Just a little bit bigger and the cord would have fit in there.

If you bought a Garmin such as the 255W--you know that Garmin provides a soft fabric case, so if you don't need a semi-hard case such as this one, save your money.

Still, this is a fine little case for the money.

I would give this another star if it had a strap. It's a roomy case that is divided by a middle "flap". One half holds the GPS in a "holder" (think egg carton or jewelry case insert). This provides cushioning in case you drop the case. The other half of the case has a net that I use to hold the charger. No need to worry about scratches because the middle "flap" keeps the 2 sides separate. It's not sleek or slim and even with a strap, would be considered bulky to carry around.

If you ever have owned a GPS, PMP player, or even a cell phone, then you know how easy it is for these screens to get scratched! Even worse is when you drop them, most plastic digital devices today don't survive a fall to the ground, and usually will break into a million pieces. Recently I purchased one of those 4.3" digital portable media player devices, but it didn't come with a protective case, so I decided to buy this one for it.

EXPERIENCE: When I took the case out of the package, I noticed it was sealed in plastic. Once I removed the plastic, I was able to open the case up, which is closed by a standard zipper. Once I opened the case, I almost wish I hadn't! You know the smell you get from brand new shoes at your local shoe store? OK, it was that smell inside the case, only multiply it by 10. I say the smell is so toxic, one sniff of this case can leave you feeling mellow yellow.

However, the good news is, the case is constructed very well, its very tough, and very durable. The inside of the case is very soft, as to not damage whatever you have inside. They also include a carrying strap inside the case which you can attach to the O-ring on the outside of the case. This is kind of nice, as not everybody is going to have a pocket in their pants big enough to fit this case inside.

CONCLUSION: The main thing to remember here, is protection of your digital device, weather it be a GPS, PMP player, or cell phone. You want something that will protect the screen from scratches, and protect your device from a fatal fall to concrete. I believe all heartedly, this case does exactly that. However, its going to take a long time for the evil smell to outgas, so I would watch out for that. All in all, I give this a 5 out of 5.'

Griffin Technology - docks, griffin technology

This review is for the new 2.0 version. It has the variable output control on the base, while the old version had a simple high-low switch. This is important because it allows for a precise adjustment of the output from the iPod.

What will the Tuneflex do for you? First, it is nice to have your iPod up in front where you can see and operate it. It provides for charging and the sound output comes from the bottom plug of the iPod, rather than the headphone output jack. This provides for better sound as the headphone output is designed for headphones only.

You do not want an fm transmitter. Those are horrid in all respects.

These features are of no use unless you have an accessible lighter (or power output) and an auxiliary input on the vehicle's sound system. These can be added by handy people or the local car stereo installer.

Some reviewers have complained that the Tuneflex is wobbly. The 2.0 is very solid, but the lighter plug itself is often loose. Mine is, but it still works ok and is not too annoying. I may go in and tighten it up or replace it with a sturdier output some time.

The Tuneflex fits tightly, so hold down the lighter when you pull out the unit. Lighters are not very strong.

Note that the product description informs you of which iPods fit. The Tuneflex comes with a variety of holders that snap on to the stalk and hold the selected iPod securely. If you keep your Tunflex installed, all you have to do is slide the iPod in and it is all connected.

Well, you ask, what about the iPhone? It is not on the supported products list. It so happens that the first generation iPhone will barely fit one of the adapters. Pretty tight, but you can do it. I doubt the new 3G phone will fit, but

When you do connect the phone, a dialogue box pops up to inform you that it is not a supported device, so do you want to continue. Push "yes" and all is well. It works perfectly.

Griffin, the maker of the Tuneflex, says Apple has not approved the device. Apple is famous for tightly controlling things and who knows what politics, licensing fees or what else may be involved here.

None of this applies if you use it as intended, with a supported iPod. You can keep your phone in your pocket and use it separately. On my car, the bluetooth works perfectly and turns the sound down on the auxiliary mode.

So, it works as it should, is handy and tidy, and the price is right. I recommend it if your vehicle has an auxiliary input and a well-placed lighter or power plug outlet. Griffin Technology TuneFlex AUX for iPod and iPod nano

I just purchased a new car and it has the AUX input. My old vehicle had the iPod hardwired and I was worried about the sound quality with using an external device. The sound quality is GREAT! It comes with different sized "cradles" but none fit my 3 year old Nano, however the Nano popped directly onto the charger stand and it's bendable so you can turn it to suit you whichever way you like. Super cheap and easy fix to hear your iPod in your car and charge and hold it at the same time.

As others have stated, the Tuneflex gasket could be tighter as it rotates in the lighter socket, so my iPod ends up drooping off to the right of where I would like it to be. Also the iPod sometime comes loose from the Tuneflex dock on bumpy roads/frost heaves. I just push it back into the dock and it keeps playing, but can be annoying. Still, it plays and I like it better than just stuffing my iPod into a cup-holder like I had been doing, so 4 stars, but improving the product by addressing these problems could make this a great, must-have item.

This review is for the 2.0 model with an iPod Touch 2G.

Griffin "certified" the TuneFlex Aux with a 2G Touch to work with the 1G cradle. At first it does seem to work fine. The audio is great, and the 2G touch charges perfectly fine. The trouble is the 2G does not actually fit perfectly in the 1G cradle. The actual metal dock terminal does not seem to go deep enough into the 2G Touch. That paired up with the dock being ever-so-slightly misshapen for the 2G touch causes the slightest bit of wiggle room.

The result of this improper fit is that road bumps cause the Touch 2G to "disconnect" constantly. When a 2G Touch disconnects, the music pauses until the touch is reseated in the dock and the user presses play again. This wouldn't be too bad if it were rare, but on a 1 hour morning commute, it may happen 20 times.

Overall, I'm sure this is a great product, but I personally wish Griffin didn't take the "quick way out" And built a real dock adapter for the 2g instead of just recycling the 1G and saying it works fine because clearly it doesn't.

I have two of these. One for my car, one for my wife's. We haven't had any problems with it yet. It plays and charges the ipod and can hook into our cassette adapter (with a tape bought separately) or straight into the aux port on the car. - Ipod Charger - Griffin Technology - Docks - Automotive'
