Cordless Reciprocating Saw - jig saw, cordless saw

Powerful compact saw. Won't last for larger projects, but for $32 it's great to have.

4 stars due to non-variable speed.

Pros:

-Small, light-weight

-Powerful enough for light/medium work

-Replacement saw blades found easily at dollar/discount stores

-Li-ion battery, no memory effect, charge when you feel like it without hurting the battery.

Cons:

-Only 1 speed - either it's on or off, no variable speed available.

-The LED light is nice, BUT, it only comes on when the saw is on. It would be nice if you could press the trigger half way to trigger the light so that you could see before cutting.

-Battery is built in, and uses a ac/dc adapter with a non-generic plug.

-No charging indicator light, and no way to tell when charge is complete or if it's even charging. I called customer service and they recommended leaving the charger plugged in for a minimum of 7 hours when the device shows signs of the battery running low. Black & Decker LPS7000 Lithium-Ion CompactSaw

Great for lite tasks. Would have given it 5 stars but:

1) the description does NOT indicate:

"... accepts T-Shank blades only. Thin kerf 10tpi or higher blade recommended." which is on Page 8 of user guide."

That's because of the no-tool "Blade Clamp Release Lever" which is great, if you have the right blades.

Does not accept typical U-ended jig saw blades.

(2) You have to engage a spring lock for the saw to start. There is no on position since it always springs back to off/lock. Makes if difficult in tight situations where needing two hands won't fit. You have to start it, keep the saw on, and then get into the tight place where only one hand will fit.

I bought this and had it sent to my son for a project we were going to do at his apartment. Based on that one use, I can't say I love it because it ran out of charge half way through the cutting portion of the project. Mind you we only cut a 9 inch by 9 inch opening in a 1/2 inch piece of wood so I don't feel we taxed it at all and we had to leave it charging overnight to finish the task. Maybe it needed more than the 6 hour first time charge we gave it before using it. The saw is easy to use and light weight, the blade went in very easy and it will probably be OK for the few times a year my son may need a saw.

I purchased this becuase I was looking for a simple saw that could work as a jig saw but also as a hacksaw/recp saw. This seemeed to fit the bill. I wanted something simple to use that I could trim small branches with but also use to cut basic pipe. I haven't used it a lot but so far I am happy with it. I plan to add better blades than what came with it but other than that it seems like a decent quality product to me. - Jig Saw - Cordless Saw - Cordless Reciprocating Saw - Great Product'

Ingrown Toenail - manscaping, nail

I don't get it. Some people spend tens, hundreds of dollars to take care of their cars, iPods and digital cameras. Then, go out and buy a pair of nail clippers - the cheapest ones - for $.99 at a gas station. Should it not be the other way around, I mean, it is your body. Last week I picked up a pair of these for $7 at my local Walgreens.

So far, no problems. I love them, and they are so sharp that you WILL make yourself bleed if you're not careful. Being used to 'gas station shears' I had no problem doing just so.

After buying and subsequently throwing away countless pairs of nail clippers, I decided to look for something that absolutely does not rust! I like to keep a pair of clippers in the shower, and my sink, porcelain covered metal frame, would develop brown rust spots after 1-2 days of a clipper being left there. That's when the Tweezerman set caught my eye, not because they were made in Asia like all the others, but because they

1) were advertised as stainless steel and

2) Guaranteed for life.

And in the event that I damaged them, it says here on the packaging that they will replace them at 1/2 price for me. (S&H not included). At $7 for new, I'm not sure if this means much, but at least it says they stand by the product. But for all that it's worth, the price (remember they are a whopping 7-10 times MORE expensive than the regular ones) is worth paying for in my opinion. Tweezerman His Stainless Nail Clipper Set

Instead of being the light, effective, well-designed, easy-to-use clippers available at any local store, these clippers are heavy, poorly designed (actually hurts my hands to press on them), they can't cut unless you experiment and experiment with every single angle on every single fingernail, and even then you worry that if you don't get it exactly right, you are going to end up accidentally cutting yourself. I have no idea what nail clippers all these other people are reviewing, but the ones I have don't work and turn something quick and easy into a massive chore. What a waste of money.

Maybe my toenails are just too thick, but this cutter just is not heavy duty enough to cut them... I threw them away upon first use. My old toenail cutters were the same design but I don't know who made them...they worked fine... heavier duty metal and much sharper. These are junk IMHO.

I was so excited to purchase this set for my husband whom is very pickey about his clippers. Him and I both love tweezerman tweezers, so I figured that these would be equally impressive. Well, they're not. They are so hard to press down. My nails are thick, but my husband and sons aren't at all. My son's are actually very thin, so there should not have been any problem with his at all. If you need a real workout for your hand, then go ahead and get these, if not, consider something else. I'm going to continue my search for the perfect clippers. If these loosen up, I'll update my review, but I don't think there's any hope.

I love these nail clippers. We have many pair because these are the only ones my husband will use. Cuts even the toughest, thickest nails with ease. I have had less problems with in grown toe nails since I switched to this brand.

Pros:

* They look good

Cons:

* Cut is not clean- thin flap left holding the trimming to the nail so that you then have to tear or pull the trimming off and then file the ragged edge.

* blades are tall and vertical so that it's a challenge to get them under the nail (between the nail and fingertip).

It's nice to cut your nails when they're wet. They cut easier and are less likely to blast into someone's eye. Hence it's nice to have stainless steel nail clippers that you might take into a shower or something.

However I left my Tweezerman fingernail clippers in the shower ONE day and the darned thing started rusting where the blades are welded together!

So I've kept the toenail clippers out of the shower and tossed the fingernail clippers. However the toenail clippers are destined for the trashcan too. Take a close look at the toenail clipper. Blow up that picture. The shape of the cut is convex! Now imagine using that on your toenails. Most people on the planet want a concave cut that rounds your nails so they don't scratch and tear at things. However this toenail clipper gives a convex cut and will give your toenails horns!

Caveate Emptor.

Looking at the other reviews I must have gotten some bad ones. No doubt these are junk. I purchased two. I threw one in the trash. It would not cut anything. The pair I have kept are going in the trash too. They cut sometimes. The handle is not comfortable. I contacted the manufacturer and they showed no interest in replacing. I have some 59 cent clippers that are better than these. I would not recommend these to anyone. - Nail Clippers - Clippers - Manscaping - Nail'

Otterbox Defender - defender, otterbox

I waited anxiously for Otterbox to release this case and ordered mine within minutes of receiving the "Defender Released" e-mail. I received the case on Friday and I must admit, it did not disappoint.

First impressions: The case is of great quality and a lot of detail went into making it compatible with all the OEM "accessories". The holster is among the best I've seen for a phone of this size and works perfectly with the case.

After carrying it for two days (and this is already my 3rd iPhone 4 case - I am rough on my phones): The case is without a doubt the most durable I've seen for the iPhone 4 and lives up to the reputation that Otterbox has built over the years.

Cons: The case does add considerable bulk to the phone and may not be perfect for pocket carriers. It does include a holster which works great and can rotate for vertical or parallel carrying of the phone.

Miscellaneous: I have no complaints really, but I am left to wonder if the silicone "flaps" that cover the earphone and USB plug-ins could have been a little more user-friendly. Sometimes they are frustrating to get back into their proper "closed" position.

Edited one month after using: I am still extremely happy with the case. I have dropped my phones a few times already and though the case is starting to show signs the abuse I have provided it the phone still looks pristine! I opened up the case this morning to clean the phone etc and to my surprise there wasn't much to clean. With cases I've owned in the past I would have a forest of lint, dust etc. that would trap itself between the case and the phone. The Otterbox has minimized that debris!

I am uploading several photos showing the difference between a "bare" iPhone 4 and an iPhone 4 in the Defender case so everyone can get an idea of how much "protection" and in turn "bulk" this case adds to the phone.

Edited to add: Amazon removed my pictures when the placed the phone back in a "pre-order" status, I will re-upload them again once they allow. I'm not sure why they state "pre-order" when it should state "Back-ordered, will deliver in xx to xx weeks", but I digress. OtterBox Defender Case for iPhone 4 (White/Pink, Retail Packaging, Fits AT&T iPhone)

Otterbox defender for my iPhone 3Gs was the best thing I ever did for that phone! It fell into and was completely submerged in a 5 gallon pot of BBQ sauce - and rinsed off with the sprayer in the sink. Phone continued to operate flawlessly!

As soon as I bought iPhone 4 - I immediately ordered an otterbox case for it. It took over a month to arrive and when it finally did - I could immediately tell it did not offer the same amount of protection as the Otterbox for the 3Gs.

I'm constantly fighting the rubber covering -- if I pull it out of my pocket I have to push it back into place all the way around the phone.

The screen protector is better -- the bubbles are gone from the previous version. I like that.

The flaps that cover the charger port and headphone jack suck! They never stay in place and to get them to lock down is a pain. Debris can easily infiltrate into the case through these openings. I find that I have to take the phone completely out of the case and clean the phone and the case more often than I ever did with the other phone/otterbox.

Maybe they were just in a hurry to get a case that would fit the quick arrival of iPhone4. I hope the case is revamped and the thought is completed. I really need and want the kind of protection and rugged durability that the other case provided for 3Gs.

Regardless of what I hate about this case, it's still the BEST case that you can put on the new iPhone 4 if you're hard on your phone. Just wish it was better...

**** 02/12 update: I bought an AT&T case to get one fast at a discount and it works fine until the price drops on the universal case. The Verizon silent mode button is partially covered so if you use silent mode a lot and have big fingers, you might want to wait or buy from the manufacturer. The headphone jack doesn't align quite right with my Verizon phone, but just open the silicone port. And now this is a genuine five star review. I really like this case. It is sturdy and protective, looks stylish, feels comfortably grippy and it was easy to install the phone. Box directions are minimal but Otterbox has a simple video that takes you through it. *****

I just called Otterbox and a very nice lady in Customer Service says they have a universal design ready to fit both AT&T and Verizon phones, to be released 02/10/11. I suppose Amazon will have these as well. Hope they do all the same colors.

Important to know because the Verizon iPhone has some ports and controls in a slightly different place than its AT&T sister and this case would not fit both phones.

Just thought you should know. Glad I did some research before I bought this one. Yes, I know this isn't a real review but not everyone reads comments. At least I'm not one of those tiresome people who posts a one star review because something went wrong with the shipping. - Defender - Otterbox Defender - Iphone 4 - Otterbox'

Not much to say but CONS, lots of cons:

a. WEAK BATTERY, charge every 6 hours

b. ACTIVATION REQUIRED 24/7 ON YOUR FACE

c. LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE, they don't offer any solution even though i contacted them twice.

d. THERE'S NO EXTRA ACCESSORIES, THE PICTURES IS MISLEADING

VERY FRUSTRATING...

I was looking for the unlock cell phone for travel to over sea, found this Blackberry sound good for what I need for the price, then after received the phone try to used it turn out it need to activate from verizon service, this phone have to go back.

aw.

Now i can not say much about the phone because i have never received the item or blessed eyes on it now i placed an order with the OEM shop on the 5th of February 2011 today as i am writing this review is the 10th of march 2011 you do the math, this is how long ago i placed my order.from i placed my order i have been back and forth with this company (the OEM shop)trying to resolve this problem these people have gotten my money a month ago and i can not get it back up to now every time i contact them, as i don't have a phone number for them, i have to do so via emails they send back saying sorry for the inconvenience this company was dishonest from the start i ordered a phone that they knew they did not have in stock and i had to contact them after weeks of wondering where my phone was, not having a tracking number to find out from one person that it was on some kinda back order then it was out of stock and when it became available they will ship it. I told these people i wanted my money back they still ship the phone the, they recalled the phone in mid transit an sent me an email, mind you with such a matter i believe phone calls would be best but that's just my opinion, telling me that they will refund my money within 48hours to my knowledge 48 means within two days i received this email on the 7th of march 2011 it is now the 10th of march 2011 and up to now no one has contact me as to where my money is and when i will be getting it back this is my first time having dealings with this company (the OEM shop) and it has been the worst experienced yet i have googled trying to find other ways in terms of a phone number to contact this business to speak to a manager or someone in charge to no avail but what did come up on my Google search is posts and reviews of people who this company (the OEM shop) has done something similar to.To end off i would have to say people amazon is great because i have ordered stuff on the same day i ordered from the OEM shop and after and guess what i have already gotten my items but i have to say that the OEM shop will not be getting any more business from me other customers be aware you don't want to end up with the same problem i had. With that said i think amazon should have as a policy that persons or business who sell on Amazon need to put up more than an email address as contact info for those of us that end up having disputes like this because if you don't call (which you cant because there is no number) or email the OEM shop they wont contact you and tell you what is happen they need to realize people have to work hard for their money and don't wish to see it go down the drain for nothing again, Amazon is wonderful but the OEM shop needs to pull up their socks this is not a nice thing to be doing !!!!!!!!!

The phone is lovely and just what I needed. Unfortunately it was still locked onto a specific carrier and hence useless to me. The seller (OEM Shop) was unresponsive and has yet to resolve the issue. I had to purchase a different phone and get on with life.

I paid for 1 day shipment. They spend 3 days to move it from Brooklyn to Newark. In the end it was 5 days shipment. Nothing to say about phone cause I'm in another country now.

No answer for claims from amazon or seller. No comments :)

I purchased the Unlocked Storm because the description led me to believe that the phone would have full functionality on the all GSM networks. Unfortunately that was not accurate. OEM did contact me regarding some of the issues with the phone but they took two to three days to reply to my emails and would not call me to trouble shoot or fully resolve my issues. Because I was trying to get the phone to work following very cryptic emails from their technical person, I missed the 30-day window to return the product or a refund. The phone is still not working properly with our wireless carrier. I would not purchase this phone believing it will work with AT&T. I have always liked shopping on Amazon.com will continue to do so but I was disappointed with this vendor and the service I received. - Blackberry Storm - Blackberry Storm 9530 - Blackberry - Blackberry 9530'

Mini Extension Cord - power strip extension cord, extension cords

I have some regular cord liberators that don't have the pass through, and I thought these would be even better. However, the way the cord is angled at the pass through often blocks an additional outlet, which defeats the purpose of a cord liberator. Using the passthrough bulks up the power strip too. For neatness and general practicality I'd recommemd the purchase of cord liberators without a pass through, just works better overall. Ziotek ZT1212518 Power Strip Liberator Plus with Pass Through, 5-Pack

What a handy design! I'll order a pack in a few minutes.

Someone mentioned not finding the power-handling capability for these cords. The ad says they're 16-ga. AWG, which gives them about a 13-amp capability, which in turn means slightly more than 1500 watts. As someone else warned, it's possible to overload your power strip by adding a fistful of these and plugging in large loads. Check the total wattage of the items you plan to plug in.

Most wall-warts are fairly low-power, but add up the numbers. Volts X Amps = Watts, by the way, in case the wattage is not listed directly.

These do the job, but lousy quality control by the manufacturer.

Each liberator has two sockets as described: a hard compound round plug with pass through socket and a corded socket with softer insulation, angled 45 degrees diagonally from the plug orientation. I expected 90 degrees sideways [but of course I hadn't read the post which describe the above].

Good: The corded socket works well in every one received, so connecting charger bricks, for example, is easier, and the angle worked with my powerstrip.

Bad: Only *2 of 5* of the pass through sockets accepted a plug without needing undue force to insert, and I needed tools to separate them afterward. I actually used a hammer for one, as I needed the extra socket.

I did wind up with more sockets than my powerstrip offered because of the pass-through sockets. But: even though I can usually put things back together - and I have plenty of tools to take things apart - even _I_ can't get plugs into *two of five* of the pass-through sockets without cutting them apart. They simply won't accept a plug - stunning. So, I paired items which go together [since they're so hard to get apart], for example: monitor+desktop, printer+scanner, bluetooth+cellphone chargers, etc.

But: 40% "significant defect" rate is not what I hoped for.

These would be a fantastic idea, however because the plugs are on a very sharp angle it gets into the way of other plugs on power bars or strips where the plugs are close together.

These are still useful if the outlets are an inch or more apart, but on side by side plugs on power bars they are useless.

They do work pretty good on my extension cable though as the plugs are vertical to each other instead of horizontal. And the cables themselves seem to be pretty heavy duty.

Product is a great idea allowing a power strip to have double the number of connections as well as enabling bulky power adaptors to be connected without losing multiple sockets.

However, the socket directly above the plug is sooooo tight it is extremely difficult to get a plug inserted (All 5 cords had same issue). - Lost 2 eggs for this.

The socket at the end of the mini extension cord however was fine requiring only usual force to insert other plugs.

While the extension part functions well, when I plugged a device into the piggy-back outlet it was held so tightly that the device broke when I tried to pull it out.

I couldn't return the things because I somehow misplaced one; so I had to bung in a screwdriver to stretch the openings. They're still too tight but marginally workable.

The manufacturer should re-assess either their design or their quality control because one of them is way out of kilter.

I've tried with two different power strips and you cannot put these in side by side..They are almost useless..

The angle of the cord and the size(just a tad too big..I can't even force it..on either power strip) make these near pointless..

Using the pass thru..Ive gained about two(2) outlets using 3(three) of these on a 8(eight) outlet power strip.

Get the other ones..Trust me..you'll be as frustrated as I am..no reason for this design..Just simply bad engineering..great concept..love the idea..it just doesn't work..THEY ARE A LITTLE TOO BIG..And I'm not one to shy away from forcing things a bit..but in this case that even ins't possible.

Not sure what the return policy is on this..I need to check with amazon - Mini Extension Cord - Power Strip - Power Strip Extension Cord - Extension Cords'

Reading Comprehension

This has been a great resource to me as a First Grade Teacher. The book is mostly ready to copy printables. Each week, you make photocopies for the students of the two pages of homework. One page is a short story with illustrations, and the other page has questions or a quick activity, along with a note to parents. I have found these to be very helpful in building comprehension and fluency skills. I also think that it has been good for the parents of my students because they have more direction, as far as what they can do to help their child read. Each assignment focuses on a different skill (cause and effect, punctuation, sequence of events, etc.), and the parent note really helps to inform and guide parents through the homework as they help their child. I also like that the homework is due at the end of the week, so parents can pick which night is more convenient to help their child with the homework.

Overall I am very pleased with this resource. Week-by-Week Homework for Building Reading Comprehension & Fluency: Grade 1 (Week-by-week Homework For Bldg Reading C)

I have been able to use the beginning stories for my struggling first graders, and the stories towards the end of the book are great for my struggling second graders. Being able to incorporate comprehension is an added bonus.

Looking over the comprehension books, I felt the reading passages were grade level appropriate. Sometimes it will be listed as 2nd or 1st and be too difficult or easy. These would have pleased Goldilocks.

I use weekly homework bags during most regular weeks, but this book provides a supplement for extended work for some of my students. I have also used this alone for homework on short weeks and track off weeks. It is straight forward and doesn't require a lot of time and extra effort to prepare.'

Kindle Lighted Leather Cover

I've noticed that like myself customers have been concerned primarily with two things regarding the new lighted case from amazon. These are: 1)The weight and 2) The uneven lighting. My review will briefly discuss these two things.

1)The Weight - The lighted leather case is a nice weight, sturdy and comfortable to hold. In ounces it is about the weight of the kindle itself however don't let that concern you. With the case on it feels like a medium sized paperback, however it is far much more comfortable to hold. It's easy to hold the case open like a book (nice for couch and table type reading) or to fold the front back and close it with the bungee so that the bungee doesn't hang around (this is good for bedtime reading).Closing the front back with bungee keeps the case folded in position and you don't have to worry about it bothering you. BTW THIS CASE FOLDS BACK 100% - Very comfortable. In sum very comfortable to read with the case and very sturdy.

2) The uneven lighting - Amazon's pictures don't do this case justice. The light hits the ENTIRE screen. Yes if you look closely it's brighter in the top right corner then in the bottom left but Amazon's pics make it look the top is lighted while the bottom is dark. There is good light all over the screen. Trust me I'm fussy about these things - the lighting will not bother you, your entire screen will be lighted and it is extremely pleasant to read in the dark.

*Final Thoughts - Great case, good quality, works well, kindle feels very secure and protected (I would feel comfortable slipping this case into my backpack or suitcase and I think it would sustain some mild impact). Lastly hinges are a non-issue, casing of the kindle will not get damaged with normal or even slightly aggressive use. You could damage the kindle by trying to pull the back of the case but you'd have to really force it to cause any sort of damage to your kindle. The hinges work fine and should not be a concern to any case user.

Update 1st December 2010:

Have now been using the case for 3 months. Leather still looks impeccable. Some people expressed concern that the bungee cord might loosen with use. I have not experienced any loosening so far. Quality of the product has proven outstanding. I've occasionally spilled or messed the cover, just a wipe with a damp cloth has cleaned it up, and the case looks like new. Have to admit I enjoy the feel of the case in my hand, there's just something great about taking your kindle to a coffee shop in this case, it just looks and feels so classy. Also with regard to the hinges: I have had no scratches on my kindle or any other issues, so I remain convinced that the hinges are a non issue. Kindle Lighted Leather Cover, Black (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle)

I was hesitant to buy this cover mostly due to the pictures in its listing, which seem to show a light that doesn't even extend to the opposite corner. The fact that I have not been impressed with the Amazon's Kindle covers in the past didn't help. I went ahead and purchased it because the cover I wanted isn't available yet and I don't like to take my Kindle out and about without a cover. Now I am glad that I went ahead and bought it.

PROS:

1. The light is much better than I thought it would be. Using it in a darkened room I found that the light did the job very well. In a pitch black room, it performs even better. While the screen corner opposite the light is a bit dimmer than other areas, there is no problem reading the page at all.

2. The light gets its power from the Kindle itself, through the gold-plated hinges which attach it to the cover, so batteries are a thing of the past. When your Kindle goes to sleep, the light will go out as well. It will also turn off when you slide it back into the case.

3. The cover is slim, well-fitted and very easy to attach and detach using the hinges. The inside has good padding. The leather outer surface has a nice pebbled texture with the exception of a smooth area along the edge of the front. While stiff enough to protect the reader, the cover is slight flexible and the front easily folds behind when reading so you can hold your Kindle with one hand if you like.

4. A great plus is that the cover has an elastic cord that fits into a groove on the front of it. This holds your cover closed (unlike the original Kindle 2 cover that would flop open in your purse & let things slide into it) and easily distinguishes the front from the back--important as many owners of the Kindle 2 cover accidentally opened it from the back, which could cause cracking along the Kindle's spine.

CONS:

I haven't found any, really. The light Is a bit hard (stiff) to pull out of the cover, but then you wouldn't want it to be flopping out when you don't want to use it so that is more of a Pro than a Con.

The one concern I do have is about pulling the light in and out--I wonder if whatever wiring or conductor that is used to get the power from the hinges to the light will eventually break. But that is something to find out down the road. Right now, the more I use this cover, the more I like it.'

Lipo In A Box - spanx, girdle

I was not as impressed as other reviewers- and I looked at the other reviewers to see how many reviews they actually have written-most wrote only this ONE! That makes me wonder if they are really Lipo employees.

The first time I put it on - I got a run. They roll and don't stay put. They are like strong nylons. Not actually a foundation. So getting a run that grows is a possibility. I do not think they are worth the money and I am sorry I bought them. Lipo in a Box "Original Firm Control" High Waist Capri, Black XS

It smooths you out and gives you a little lift where needed. My only problem with it is that the waist rolls down and I have to keep pulling it up, but I can live with that considering how it gives my figure a little boost.

I bought the entire suit. Everyone thinks I lost 20 lbs. It is comfortable and I feel great. Highly recommend. Although I fit perfect in a size large I took a medium it fit fine and I looked smaller, but now I am eating more as the mirror is fooling me!!!!!!!!! LIPO IN A BOX - BUY IT HANDS DOWN ONE OF THE BEST- I HAVE SPANX TOO AND IT IS ALSO GREAT. I LOVE BOTH OF THEM.

This is exactly what I wanted and I am so pleased I made this purchase. This item retails for about $80. I found it here for $50. I love it, it smooths in all the right places and as long as it's worn properly (which does take a few minutes longer than slinging on a typical girtle) it does not roll or bind in any way. I love it. It even comes with a mesh bag for machine washing. It is a little heavier than a set of control top hose not as heavy as a full on girtle so wearing it during the summer was comfortable. I will definitely make this purchase again when necessary.

I bought this after I'd already reached my weight goal, for those times when I've overindugled and need a little control. I was glad to see that they have a size Small, which many of the discount stores in my neighborhood do not have. I tend to gain weight in the thighs, hips, butt, then waist. So I need something that controls all of those target areas. I was excited to try this garment, when I needed it, which I did after a few months of recieving it. I was then disappointed to find that it didn't do as much for my lower belly area as I would've liked and it lifts the rear so much that, on my body, it appeared very unflattering. My butt tends to be too big when I've gained a few pounds. I have a short torso and it seems very exaggerated when my bottom is too big. So from the side, while wearing Lipo in a Box, I looked heavier. It was terrible! Plus the top rolls down continuously unless you can maintain sucking in constantly. Which most people can't.It did however do a pretty good job on my thighs. But for the all over, high waist type of control that I need, I will look into another product and in the meantime stick to control top tights. So if your butt is too big I'd go with another product, but if your rear tends to be flat then this is definitely the garment for you, except for the rolling down waist part. (Note:My true rating would've been 2 and a half stars, but that's not an option here.)

I Love them, but all 5 pairs I have purchased have ripped after only a few uses in the bottom and in the front. I am so sad because they are so perfect in every other way. They dont roll down, smooth you out and make you feel like taking that extra step ! I am going to try them in a different color hoping that maybe the material is different.

I was so excited when I finally received this. All I wanted was some smoothing-did't expect to shrink 2 sizes. Well, it did smooth some, but the result wasn't as good as I get from a better brand control top panty hose. If you're looking for back and tummy smoothing, it's okay. However, if you're looking for help from the waist down, especially for the thighs, don't waste your money. - Bridal - Spanx - Girdle - Lipo In A Box'

S1 Racer

Wow, I have not seen this one for more than ten years ago. Time sure flies. When I see this product in stores, I was a bit hesitating because I have seen the trailer in english dubbed and music changed. Once I have heard from friends who rented or owned it, they said the japanese versions were kept in tact. You know, they were right!. That made me happy. I tried to give english version a chance, but I cannot surpass the music, the new given names, and the new special effects during the race. It just not the same! Just to be fair, I will only review only the original japanese version. The picture and the sound are really clean for a first season TV series. The contents are kept intact. I do not recall any scenes have been edited out. I recommend who enjoys classic sport cars do battle and remind how good the cars in their time. Initial D: First Stage

Now that Funimation has the rights to Initial D its even better! The DVDs contain both the original Japanese production (for the fans) and the English TokyoPop version (for those who dont want to read). Ive been a fan of the series for years now, and for those that are new to Initial D, I highly recommend picking this collection up. Plus its much cheaper that buying each single DVD, which would cost around $150.

I just hope Funimation continues to release all of the stages in collections like this...

I grew up watching Initial D and it is completely awesome. The characters are engaging and every episode will drop some useful knowledge about automobiles and racing technique. I highly recommend the Tricked Out version with hip hop and pop electronic soundtrack and some CGI animations. The original version is very nice as well and you can watch it with English sub-titles if you do not understand Japanese.

Let me start the review with the package. This box set is very well presented and includes a booklet with the characters and their respective cars, also this package includes a sticker with the FUJIWARA TOFU logo as a bonus.

This first season (of four) tells the story of TAKUMI FUJIWARA a dreamy high-school student and its introduction to STREET RACING. Takumi's friends don't know that he has drive the dangerous and complicated Mt. Akina for the last 5 years, delivering TOFU (the family business) for customers. One interesting thing is that he doesn't only drive in a legendary car .... his father secretly trains him to control the car like any other part of his body.

Some events lead Takumi to compete with a well know STREET RACING TEAM, called the RED SUNS and this is the beginning of a new world for Takumi. Something awoke inside him when he felt the rush to compete with a much higher powered car with a good driver inside.

Drama, love, comedy and too much action awaits you in this series that comes in 9 DVD and will give you many hours of fun. You will love the series for sure, even if the animation is a little bit different combining 3D CG with hand drawn animation.

You will be immediately drawn to INITIAL D universe in the end of the first DVD. Enjoy

All the disks arrived in perfect condition, brand new just as stated. I love this show and i was very happy to find it at this price. I don't know what else to say, it came in the saran wrap, sealed, with all the stuff. It made me happy'

Ipad Stylus Fine Point - ipad, apple ipad stylus pen

This is the 5th type iPad stylus I have owned.

The Targus, bought at my local Best Buy was satisfactory and did the job. I bought it because that was the only product Best Buy carried. Dog chewed off the tip. $20 down my dogs gullet.

Next I bought three FOAM tip Pogo's. They were very cheap (and inexpensive). Very awkward to use. Required way too much pressure to work which ran the risk of knocking the foam tip off. Back off on the pressure to avoid knocking the foam tip off and the stylus did not write. Returned for refund.

Next I bought two styles of ACase with a rubber tip (one standard stylus and one stylus/pen combo). Same order. Liked the standard ACase, LOVED the stylus/pen combo. Both ACase models were MORE than Satisfactory. I rated the standard ACase 4 STARS and the ACASE stylus/pen combo, 5 STARS. Both excellent products. Dog chewed another rubber tip off. Thankfully not the stylus/pen combo. Chew up my stylus once, shame on you. Chew up my stylus twice, shame on me.

RECEIVED THIS KENSINGTON IN THE MAIL TODAY. AS THE TITLE READS, THERE SHOULD BE A 6 STAR RATING. THIS STYLUS IS AWESOME. HAS GOOD WEIGHT TO IT. APPROXIMATELY 1/2 LONGER THEN OTHER STYLUS' (SP) (although the extra length is only in the cap). SO I PUT IT TO THE TEST. THIS KENSINGTON ALSO HAS A RUBBER TIP BUT IT IS A BIT MORE FIRM. NOT AS "CUSHIONY" AS ANY OF THE OTHERS I HAVE OWNED. THIS GIVES IT MORE OF A 'PEN TO PAPER' FEEL WHEN IN USE. AS FOR ACCURACY, IT IS IN A CLASS BY ITSELF. I SCRIBBLED AS FAST AS I COULD SCRIBBLE ON MY IPAD JUST TO SEE IF I COULD MAKE THE IPAD TO LOSE THE TRAIL..., IT NEVER DID!!!! THIS IS ALSO A STYLUS/PEN COMBO WHICH I HAPPEN TO BELIEVE THEY ALL SHOULD BE. USES PARKER PEN REFILLS WHICH I PERSONALLY LOVE. The one that comes preinstalled is cheap, just replace it with an authorized PARKER Gel Ink Refill for a smooth writing experience coming out of both ends. :)

YOU WILL PAY ABOUT $4 MORE FOR THIS STYLUS BUT THAT $4 WILL SAVE YOU A TON OF REGRET.

DO IT.

CLICK ON 'ADD TO CART"

YOU WILL THANK ME.

PS - Keep it away from your dogs.

PSS - There are two improvements Kensington should make on future models but they will have to pay me for those ideas. :) Kensington Virtuoso Touch Screen Stylus and Pen for 2nd Generation Apple iPad 2 and Apple iPad 1/ Apple iPhone / Motorola Xoom Tablet / Samsung Galaxy / Blackberry Playbook (Gunmetal)

Best Stylus on the market today. Looks and feels like a high end ink pen. Comes in black and gun metal grey. I have both and recommend this stylus over all others. One recommendation for the future, perhaps the Kensington third generation will have the pen cap fit over the adaptive tip :)

I've owned this stylus for about three weeks and love it! It has a small precise tip that works well with a writing iPad app like Penultimate. In my opinion, it's much better than the Box Wave Capacitive and Targus stylus' I have owned. I love the fact that it works as a pen and as a stylus. It's about the length of a pen and makes for easy writing on a tablet computer like the iPad. In short, it's superb so far! - Apple Ipad Stylus Pen - Ipad Pen - Ipad Accessories - Ipad'

Iphone 3g Car Charger - car charger, accessories

I tried the charger first in a rental car. It worked for a minute, and then failed to charge (or illuminate its LED light). I removed the charger, and tried to use my GPS unit with its car charger (which had earlier worked fine in this car), and found that IT wouldn't charge, either!

So I returned the car to the rental car office, figuring there was a problem with its electrical system. But when the exact same thing happened in the second car (after, again, powering my GPS' charger just fine), I realized that I was causing the problems....by my use of this cheapo iPhone charger. I'm just glad that 1. I didn't plug the charger into my own car, and 2. it didn't fry my iPhone!

This charger went straight into the garbage, and I bought my auto charger at apple store for $20. It's great, dependable, and I can use it to charge any gizmo that charges via USB (including my computer, my 3GJUICE, etc. Car Charger for Apple 3G iPhone, Black

This car charger did not work at all for my iPhone 3G. The red light on the charger indicated it was receiving power, but my iPhone 3G did not receive a charge. This was tested on two different iPhones in two different cars. I elected not to exchange, since it wasn't worth the return shipping and handling. It sounds like others have had success with this product, but I can not recommend it.

It arrived within a few days, tested it on my iPhone 3G and it worked.

By the way, I found 3 tips that help extend the iPhone 3G battery life considerably, go to Settings and set the following:

1. Set Wi-Fi: Off

2. Fetch New Data: Hourly (I hook up to my work's exchange email server)

3. General > Network > Enable 3G: Off

Also, if you need speed for web browsing and other apps, then switch on either 3G or Wireless On. I use wireless for performance reasons.

I did some speed tests and found that of the 3 network options I have these were the download speeds:

1. Wireless WiFi - 6Mbits/s (connected to my private home wireless network from a cable service)

2. 3G - 1.2Mbits/s

3. EDGE - 0.18 Mbits/s - I use this for my daily phone calls - works just fine and best option to extend the battery life

Bottom line, when at home and lounging, connect to a power supply and switch on Wi-Fi, when on battery power set settings as mentioned. Enjoy your iPhone.

I used this charger in my 2000 Nissan Maxima. After a week it blew the fuse to my front cigarette lighter, then after one use it blew the other one. I guess there is a reason it was so inexpensive.

Let the buyer beware...

This charger does not work for Apple IPhone 3G as stated in the description. I plugged it in and my phone said the charger "was not compatible" with the iphone. Waste of $3 with shipping.

UPDATE: Seller refunded money and agreed to remove this item or change description for Amazon. Customer Service appreciated.Item still gets low mark.

Car Charger for Apple 3G iPhone, Black

the charger red indicator light just flashes rapidly and will not charge the 3g iphone. tried it in 2 cars and 3 different outlets. my experience is duplicated in the reviews for this same? charger by Lux case. e-mailed PC Microstore and awaiting response. Hoping for replacement and the satisfaction of the 5star reviews I see here.

This charger has blown fuses on 2 different cars. It worked once or twice in each car, but then I couldn't get any sort of power from it. I then found other items would not work in the cigarette lighter, so I checked the fuses and found the fuse blown in each vehicle.

This charger now has a special place in the bottom of my trash can. - Iphone - Car Charger - Iphone 3g - Accessories'

Ipod Nano - earphones, jbuds

These were my fourth pair of earbuds and the most impressive I've owned. The wiring and connections are solid and reinforced. I've replaced earbuds when the wiring breaks or the sound volume becomes unequal.

I'm hard on earbuds. My workday starts late in the morning and lasts until late in the evening. I need to still be asleep when the gardeners come with their leaf blowers and weed whackers. Earbuds serve a dual purpose: they keep sound out and give me pleasant sounds to sleep by. Being a bit of an insomniac, my MP3 player helps me to fall asleep each night as well. This is tough on earphones.

I'm impressed with the construction of these buds. Stress points are well reinforced and unlikely to fail. But ruggedness isn't the primary reason for buying phones ... sound quality is.

These are second to none when it comes to sound quality. Bass is solid with no distortion. The midrange and highs are crisp and clear. I've listened to everything from hip-hop to classical and they have provided a superior listening experience.

The worst feature of these phones is that they have a straight plug into the media player instead of an angled plug. This makes it easier to accidently unplug the phones. At worst, a minor drawback. Also, the barrel of the buds is a bid longer than others. At first I thought this would be a problem with lying on a pillow, but it hasn't disturbed me at all.

These utterly dominate all the other earbuds I've owned, both in terms of construction quality and in terms of sound. Buy a pair with confidence - you can't go wrong. JBuds J2 Premium Hi-Fi Noise-Isolating Earbuds (Onyx Black)

I bought some earphones not too long ago from Radio Shack. They were the kind you press into the ear. They were awful. The sound was bad and they wouldn't stay in the ear at all.

The jbud j2 are also a kind that you press into the ear (stay in pretty well you you give them a small twist when inserting instead of just pushing them in.) It made me a little nervous, but the price wasn't bad and the reviews were all good, so, I decided to go ahead with the purchase. Amazon got them to me in less than a week and packaged them well.

The sound quality is very good. Some of my classic piano concertos just come to life with these.

The dynamic range may be a little too good. I like to listen to music before I go to bed and I would use the Samsung earphones that came with my player, and by the way they are very good for being the included earphones. Since it's right before bedtime, I'll turn my player's volume down to 2 or 3 (out of 30). The J2s when turned down that low on volume, the higher frequencies I can't hear like I could with the "cheap" earphones. Perhaps it's my hearing. This really isn't a complaint because when I turn the volume up to say 10, It (J2s) sounds fantastic.

The construction seems pretty good, but only time will tell for sure.

The noise canceling part of the earphones also works very well, if that's what you like. The Samsung earphones you could hear other people talking just fine and still listen to the music. J2's you cannot. That can be good or bad depending on the situation.

I may get another set for my son.

They are good,

Bryce

So I've ordered the Jbuds J-2 in Lambo Yellow on the day before Thanksgiving, and I got them earlier this past week. I've also tried three other sets of noise-isolating earbuds, namely the Creative EP-630 In-Ear Headphones, the V-MODA Bass Freq Earbuds - Bling Bling Black, and the JVC HAFX33A Marshmallow In-Ear Stereo Headphones (Blue). I'm trying to find a good set of noise-isolating earphones to use on a day-long bus trip I'm taking next month, and have tested them while studying in a laundromat (lots of noisy washers and dryers; my laundromat has study tables and wi-fi). Overall, I have liked the Jbuds J2 the best; here's my opinion on all four:

--The JVC Marshmallows had the worst sound quality of all four. They didn't sound very realistic, they were very tinny. I threw them out.

--The Creative earbuds produced very good sound quality, BUT the cord microphonics were too much (the cord was very rubbery, and you could hear it even with the slightest bump, so it was useless to walk with). I'm giving them away to someone else.

--The V-Moda earbuds also have very good sound quality, very little cord microphonics, and may very well have the best noise-isolation of all four; however, I felt they may have been a bit TOO bassy. This gives me somewhat of a headache when listening to something like Star People, so I don't use it for normal listening. But it may be the best option for the bus or laundromat.

--Overall, the Jbuds J2 have virtually no cord microphonics, and very good noise isolation (though slightly less than the V-Moda). Not too much bass, very balanced and the most realistic sound of all four that I've tried. They attenuate noise very well, but the V-Modas are very slightly better at that (which is why I'm giving these 4 stars instead of five).

So overall, if you like lots of bass, go with V-Moda; if you like the best balanced sound quality, go with these. But overall, I think that these are the best all-around. - Jbuds - Headphones - Ear Buds - Earphones'

Nook Color Cover - nook color cover

I've been a buyer of Otterbox cases for years, which is why I had really high expectations for this case. Unfortunately, it falls short...

First, be aware that it adds a VERY significant amount of bulk to your Nook. I expected this and wanted this, since my psychotic kid bangs this thing around when he plays with it. For regular users (no kid involved), it's probably overkill. The standard $20 silicone cover you get at B&N will suffice for most, and adds very little bulk. Seeing the NC in this case with its tiny baby screen looks silly. You literally have almost an inch of bezel around the device.

Second, this case allows access to the clip-on corner ring on the Nook. IMHO, the clip on corner is stupid (that's putting it nicely). Nobody uses it and nobody wants it. Of the 30+ people I personally know who bought the Nook, no one uses it, and they all hate it. Even the B&N silicone case doesn't have a cutout for it (what does this tell you?)

Third, the case's plastic wraparound "armor" is actually pretty fragile. On both sides it is cutout so that a thin strip of plastic lines the sides of the device. I'm sure my kid will grab it, pull it, and break it at some point. The thing would have been much more secure without the cutout, and I honestly don't know why they went with that approach.

Fourth, the plastic armor doesn't really fit snugly onto the silicone case. It seems a little too big and bows out in certain spots.

Finally, the case is made in China. I prefer US-made products, probably because I'm an American and like to support my own nation instead of selling ourselves out to foreign communist interests.

I'm only giving this case three stars because it's just not worth the $35 Amazon price (let alone the $50 retail price). Lately, I've been buying Case-Mate products and I believe they are better than Otterbox in terms of quality, durability, and overall fit. In addition, Otterbox has been VERY slow in getting new cases to the market. The HTC Thunderbolt has been out for over two months and they still don't have a case for it. Otterbox Commuter Case for Barnes & Noble Nook Color (BNN4-NOOKC-20-E4OTR)

I've bought Otterbox cases for 2 other devices over the years (iPod Tough 3G, and then again for the 4G), and after doing some research, it looks like Otterbox was still the way to go for my Nook Color.... especially for letting the kids use it, too (a 5 year old, and a 2.5 year old). I'm also keeping an eye on Lifeproof, to see if they ever make a case for the Nook Color, as theirs seem to be all this, and waterproof, too.

The case seems snug and capable, and I expect it to protect well, but I don't like how the plastic has transformed the grippy rubber that coats the back of the Nook, into a slippery surface that makes one-handed holding feel a bit chance-y. Not a fan about that, I'll probably stick on some grip tape or rubberized sticker or something. Also, the microSD card slot is enclosed within the layers of protection, so you have to take off the Otterbox plastic shell, and peel away the corner of the silicone skin to access the SD slot. Not a fan about that, either.

Considering how well Otterbox products protect, and how prone people are to 5-starring lesser cases out of laziness or just not doing their research, I'm tempted to 5-star this as well, but I think a 4-star is what it deserves for those 2 large annoyances.

Also, has anyone had any luck with getting a really clean application of the screen protector? Every pass I've done on it still has very slight imperfections under the surface (not really bubbles, but as if there's a fleck of invisible dust or something keeping it from perfectly/invisibly adhering across the whole screen)?

My experience with Otter Box has always been a good one so i bought their product again for my nook Color.

I just got it so I dont know how it will hold up but if it is anything like my Iphone case i wont worry about it.

The nook slips right in the skin and there is a plastic backing that clamps over the back and around the skin.

It adds a little more weight to the nook but it makes the Nook feel like an industrial grade product it just feels

tough. I bought the Nook so that I could use it for business(internet, email and app abilities)so I will be toting it around a lot. Glad I bought the Nook color and I'm glad that I bought this Otter Box to protect my investment. - Nook Color Cover'
