Hoover Platinum Collection - hoover, cordless vacuum

Based on a phone call to Hoover: If you want your battery to last and work properly do not store the battery on the charger or in the vacuum. Fully charge the battery and use it in the vacuum. If the battery runs out, fully charge it again (3 hours and a light on the charger will pulse when ready) and then store it separately. If the battery has not run out you can choose to recharge it so it fully loaded (again, take it off the charger when the light pulses) and then store it separately. Since a full charge only takes 3 hours an overnight charge is not recommended. Hoover LINX Cordless Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery, 18-Volt, BH50000

The thing about lithium batteries is that they run out of power without much warning. Sure there's a gauge/light on the vacuum, but if your not paying attention it can stop in the middle of vacuuming. Recharging a battery can put vacuuming on hold for an hour, but with a fully charged spare battery in the charger you can quickly swap batteries and resume vacuuming.

this hoover LINX cordless rechargeable lithium battery is a 'must have' if you're buying the LINX vacuum. You don't want to get frustrated and run out of "gas." I understand that you CANNOT leave the battery in the charger after charging or it won't work. Short and simple.... always be prepared. oh, easy charging unit, easy battery installation in vacuum!

I bought this for use with my Hoover Linx stick vac, which I LOVE. Cannot live without that thing. The battery lasts about 15-20 min and so I wanted an extra so that I'd always be able to finish a job. I was finding that I'd forget how much power was left in the battery, how much time I had on the battery. Sometimes I'd have 15 min, sometimes just 5. And since I use the vac so much, it made sense to have the back up battery. One thing I'd encourage everyone to do is get a timer switch for your wall outlet. I got the Belkin Conserve Socket F7C009q Energy Saving Outlet which was tendollars on Amazon. Basically, plug the charger into the Belkin outlet and you can push the 3-hr button when you put the battery in. It turns off power supply at 3 hours, just when the batt is fully charged. That way there's no risk of battery drain.

We got the LINX at the recommendation of a friend, who did a great demo and explained the merits of an extra battery. It's really simple: the LINX has a swap-able battery, so when the battery that's in the vacuum runs low on charge, you swap the run-down battery with a fresh one you grab out of the charger and--presto--you keep right on running the LINX until you vacuuming is done.

So, we got the extra battery with our LINX and swapping it the way our friend described works like a charm for my wife and I. It's a lithium-ion technology battery, so it charges pretty fast, and runs the vacuum a good while (15-20 minutes or so) before the light on the vacuum blinks indicating the charge is running down.

Bottom line: when you buy a LINX be sure to get an extra battery. It's that simple.

I have purchased this item not more than a month ago so the longevity of this item will remain to be seen. I purchased this item as a second item for the Hoover Linx cordless vacuum. It offers great power but battery life is somewhat short but having the extra battery makes these two purchases a must.

In fact, I don't know if this battery was bad or the one that came with the vac was bad. In any case, someone else wrote here about a battery failure and Hoover replacing it, so bad batteries may be common. Here's my battery experience with two batteries.

The vac has indicator lights showing charge status: 3 lights full or nearly full, 2 lights lower, 1 light lower still, 1 blinking light-almost dead. Hoover's official position on battery life: 12-15 minutes. My test results with vac only, no beater brush running:

Battery 1 goes from 3 lights to 2 in 5 minutes, 2 to 1 in 3 more minutes, and 1 to blinking in 4 more minutes. Total running time 12 minutes.

Battery 2 goes from 3 lights to 2 in 1 minute, 2 to 1 in 2.5 minutes, and 1 to blinking in 3 more minutes. Total running time 6.5 minutes.

I just spent 30 minutes on the phone with Hoover. The first CSR treated me like I was a moron, and then when I explained my tests, she said, "OK. Send it to us and we'll check it out." Gave me an address. Then put me on hold, came back, put me on hold, came back and said, "I'm transferring you to another department." (It was like that light company ad on TV.) After another 10 minutes on hold, a guy came on the phone with no knowledge of why I was calling, heard the story again, and then said, "Ship it to us, and we'll check it out." Frankly, I'll be surprised if I ever see that battery, much less a replacement battery, again.

My advice. Charge your new battery. See my test results above. If you can't duplicate the better results, send it back right away as defective. If it's the battery with the vac, send the whole thing back. - Hoover Platinum Collection - Cordless Vacuum - Hoover - Stick Vac'

Electronics - cable ties, belkin

It's hard to tell from the pictures, but these straps do not have velcro material down the full length of the back side. "Fuzzy" velcro material covers all of one side of each strap, however the back side of each strap is smooth except for a small swatch of the "hook" velcro material near the end with the black Belkin label. It's more than enough to grip, but they don't hold nearly as effectively as those found in Velcro #90438 1/2x8 Get A Grip Velcro or Velcro(R) Brand One-Wrap(R) Cableties 8in Blk 25pk. Belkin F8B024 8-Inch Velcro Cable Ties

But my intention was using these to tie and untie frequently used cables (power cords, headphones, etc), but these ties lack a tightening mechanism which you must try to do by yourself before applying the velcro part... These beats the purpose of having a quick method of wrapping and tying cables... Might work for those occasions where you simply want to leave a cable tied up for a long time...

I'll never understand why re-useable cable ties are so expensive, or so unavailable. These Belkins are really for permanent stereo or computer installation. And even for that purpose, I don't care for their design.

If you are a musician looking to tie up microphone, speaker or instrument cables, these are not suitable.

Not a very efficient solution if you need to wrap and unwrap your cords more frequently. It's just a long strip of Velcro, much longer than I actually need so most of the material is wasted and even gets in the way (as you have to wrap it around and around). This also makes it more time-consuming to wrap cables.

They do what they're supposed to. However, if your using them for audio cables (like myself) and you're going to be frequently wrapping and unwrapping them, I would suggest getting a brand that allows you to keep one end permanently attached to the cable. I've already lost 2 of them at gigs!

I have used a couple of types of Velcro cable ties in the past. The best ones have hooks all along one side and fuzz all along the other with a slot in the top, so you can loop it around the cable at one end so it stays attached even when the cable is unwrapped. These have hooks only on about an inch or two at one end of the tie. You have to wrap it carefully (and not particularly tightly) around the cable bunch until you get to then end with the hooks. If you unwrap the cable the tie falls off. These a just considerably more annoying to use than the type I first described. One other review mentioned these work best in more permanent installations where you aren't going to be undoing them regularly. True, but plastic zip ties and twist ties also work for this at a fraction of the cost. - Velcro - Cables - Cable Ties - Belkin'

Cards

I am very happy with the 100 count boxes however, the 25 count boxes are mismatched. The cards are cream colored and the envelopes are white. Not a good combination in my opinion. Definitely would buy the 100 count again. Geographics 100 Ct. White Greeting Card Stock w/Envelopes

I searched on the internet for greeting card stock with envelopes and found this to be the best possible buy for the money. I received the card stock in a timely manner and in excellent condition and began making greeting cards for my friends. The card stock was exactly what I wanted and is of excellent quality. I have already recommended it to friends. Don't be a skeptic! Buy it!

This is great card stock, its nice and thick and runs through the printer nicely. I use these for making greeting cards and they come out beautiful! Add on some colored paper to the inside of the card and it looks professional! Save Money!!! The envelopes are nice as well but the first one I tried jammed up my printer so I haven't tried another one. I can easily write the name on the envelope.

This is the second time that I've purchased Geographic 100 ct white greeting card stock w/ envelopes. It consistently produces great cards using my card software for a fraction of the cost of store bought cards!'

Computer Speaker - pc speakers, desktop speakers

I can not really add much to my review which has not already been said. These are great sounding speakers for the price.

If you want speakers with accurate music reproduction, thumping bass and higher volumes, best to spend more money and upgrade to Logitech's Z-4 model. But for casual listening and computer gaming, the X-140 speakers are more than adequate.

My biggest positive is the durability & construction; very hard plastic backs with heavy duty metal front grills (which are virtually impenetrable to pencils, pens, and other kid wielded objects). So far, after 4 months of use, I have deemed them "kid proof". Those of you who have small children know what I mean. I highly recommend the X-140's for those on a budget or those who just can't see the logic in dropping big dollars when kids are around. ****May 2011 update. Still in great condition and rockin' strong!**** Logitech X-140 2.0 Speakers

For the price, the sound is quite good. I also like that they use a standard AC plug instead of an AC adapter and you can actually turn them completely off when away from the computer without having to uplug the adapter. Overall, I'm very pleased with the purchase.

For the price: These are tough, sturdy attractive looking speakers. In fact, better than most. The treble is excellent and the mid-range is near perfect. The bass is a high-bass, so don't expect your desk to rumble, but the overall quality of sound is very good. There is distortion after a ¾ turn of the dial. The orange "on" light is a bit bright (I'd prefer blue or green, but that is a minor concern). The volume control does make a pronounced difference in loudness, but the tone control varies only in the absence of bass. It is easy to set up and there is a convenient headphone jack and a single male plug for external music sources (not great for iPod users - you'll still need to use your computer's USB port).

A fervent music fan (opera, orchestral, Broadway, big band, jazz), I never thought I'd see the day when I'd listen to most of my music on the computer, but that day recently arrived.

So, I decided it was time to think beyond the lackluster speakers embedded in my monitor, and I shopped around. Having previously bought the Logitech iPod charger/player, which I found surprisingly good, I was predisposed to the brand. Still, I was unsure about getting these speakers after reading some of the less-positive reviews on this page.

I'm glad to say my fears proved unfounded. You just can't beat the sound of these for the price. They are perhaps just a tiny bit short on both the high and low ends of the sound spectrum, but other than that nit, they provide very satisfying sound. I haven't regretted my purchase for one minute.

I have been looking around for some desktop speakers and not thinking about spending too much money on it. I looked at many models on-line and also in the stores and finally I decided to buy this set. I like the design that it comes without a bulky power converter. At the price of $29 when I purchased it, it produces sound loud enough for my PC and it looks solid without the usual cheap plastic feel. I didn't give it a five star because its sound tends to be blur at extremely higher volume and at very deep base setting. Since I use real stereo equipment for listening to music, I wouldn't turn on the volume very high on this speakers anyway. But...let me tell you, I use this set of speakers to play a old Warcraft III game and it really sounds very well, loud, deep and stereo. For a set of desptop speakers, this will be my best choice for under $30.

These speakers rock! The sound is very crisp and clean. I heard background singers on my cd's I have never heard before with either my Bose speakers or Sennheiser headset. All of the plugs and connecting cords are permanently attached to the back of the speakers and are much thicker than most. In addition, the power plug is a normal 3 prong instead of a fat dc converter. If you are looking for booming bass that fills a room these are not for you, but if you are looking for a quality pair of desktop speakers with clear detailed sound that also work great with a walkman or mp3 I highly recommend them.

I bought these speakers to compare against a pair of Bose Companion 2 (Series I) speakers that I was unsure about their sound. I really wanted to like the Bose - and for the most part I did when listening to a pair in a local Sams Club. But in the end, the X-140s won out for me. Here's why:

What I liked about the Bose: I was very impressed with both the amount of Bass produced, and the clarity of the sound coming from the Companion 2 speakers. Individual instruments were clear and crisp, and not distorted or muffled. And there was plenty of bass for most casual music listening - probably the best I've heard from a 2.0 system.

What I didn't like about the Bose: Unfortunately, from a sound quality perspective, there was a dramatic channel separation between left and right that never let a vocal track converge in the center of the listening stage. In other words, a main vocal track that normally (in my other higher end 2.1 systems) appears to come from directly front and center in the audio stage was instead very evident coming from both right and left speakers. It gave an odd surround sound feel that didn't seem natural to me. Also, the main speaker (with the volume control) apparently had less than adequate shielding as it was picking up a static/crackling when placed in close proximity to our Mac Mini that it was connected to. Move it further away and it was okay, move it closer and it started to crackle.

I have several other Logitech speakers (Z3 and X230) that I'm very happy with - I like the sound that Logitech's produce, so I tried a set of the X-140's with this same Mac Mini setup as I used the Bose Companion 2 on.

What I liked about the Logitech X-140: While I believe the sound was a bit more crisp in the Bose (and the Bass was more full), the voice is much better placed in the X-140s, and the Bass is probably the next best in a 2.0 system I've heard next to the Bose. The X-140s also have very clear sound - and, unlike the Bose, there is no static or crackling from the X-140 even when placed directly on top of the Mac Mini. So chalk that up to proper shielding.

What I don't like about the X-140: Basically... nothing. Sure, I'd like a little more bass, a little more clarity on the high end, but... what can I expect at this price point. The sound is fairly amazing for $27 speakers. One thing that I actually don't like is that the 'Tone" knob is backwards from what you would normally expect. generally clockwise gives more Treble and CCW gives more Bass. Just the opposite here. OK, that's really pushing for something to find fault with.

All in all, while the Bose Companion 2 speakers have some very strong features, in the end I was overall disappointed and I'm keeping the X-140s as a very capable 2.0 setup - and for less than 1/2 the price of the Bose, they are a great deal. - Desktop Speakers - Pc Speakers - Speakers - Logitech'

Tools And Hardware - tools, tools and hardware

*****At present there is only one other review for for this item, a five-star review. If you click to see all of that reviewer's reviews, you'll see he only has two--both Dremel items. This always makes me wonder if the reviewer works for that company.*****

Here is my honest opinion of this Dremel:

I bought this Dremel because it is the only one that works with Dremel's new multisaw attachment. With that attachment, which is sold separately, you can use it like a miniature reciprocating saw (Sawzall). Just pop any "T" or "U" shaped jigsaw blade in, and you're in business. I don't know of another tool that can be used in this way, and for that reason and that reason alone this Dremel is worth owning.

I already own another multiple-speed Dremel, and I thought I'd sell it once I bought this. But I'm keeping both because this new Dremel simply feels cheap and poorly made. It seems like its plastic case is flimsier and it doesn't feel as balanced when it's operating. It certainly isn't ergonomic. Any Dremel user who buys this latest model will instantly notice the drop-off in quality.

On the good side, the multisaw attachment works well and the molded plastic case is designed to hold the Dremel, the multisaw and planer attachments, jigsaw blades, the included circle cutter and flex shaft. The kit also includes two bit sets that lock onto the top of the case, with room for two more on the sides.

There's no way I can tell if this Dremel will last. I've put a pretty good load on the motor, and it hasn't failed. But I think that if I drop it more than a few feet onto a hard surface, it will break. The shaft lock button feels particularly cheap and uncertain. I expect it to break first.

Despite all my concerns I'm keeping this Dremel. But I'll only use it when I need the multisaw or planer attachment. Any other time I'll use my other Dremel (model no. 3956-02).

It's extremely unfortunate that at the same time it has chosen to make the most versatile Dremel yet, the company also decided to cut corners on quality. Dremel doubtlessly wanted to keep the price down on this unit, but in doing so they've produced a multi-function tool that feels like a toy. Dremel 400-3/71 400 Series XPR 2 Amp 5,000 to 35,000 RPM Rotary Tool with Planer, Flex Shaft, and Circle Cutter

Definetly a good value for the price, but the 400 XPR itself is much more cheaply built than previous Dremels.

The review from Woodpecker "usbeetle" above is SO obviously a review by Dremel PR that is reeks of marketing slang. Just look at some of the comments that individual made...

"...affordable addition to the high quality Dremel family..."

This is not an individual's wording.

"Luckily, all your old Dremel attachments still fit..."

Again, marketing thoughts, not an individual reviewer's thoughts. A reviewer would state something similar to: 'still works with all of my old attachments'.

"...the new XPR 400 rotary tool..."

Individuals do not call it an "XPR 400 rotary tool", even though its classified as such. Individuals call it a Dremel or 400, or XPR, etc.

It sounds like this reviewer works for Dremel division, added a couple lines of his own words, sandwhiched between marketing spew. It's a shame Amazon and other places on-line can't do much to stop this self-rating. Also, if you look at this user's other reviews... he has none. So out of the blue, he gives this product 5 stars, some marketing lingo, and absolutely nothing negative about it? Get real.

This is a good tool, but it's not perfect. Its biggest flaw is cheap construction compared to past models and other brands, as well as sub-par cooling.

Hope I'm not the only one to notice this, but compared to the older Dremel that I had used for years, this new model feels a little more flimsy in comparison. The real problem came when I used the XPR for an extended amount of time. After using the stone cutting blade for about half an hour, the unit got too hot to hold with bare hands, and stated emitting a burning smell. I had to let the unit cool off, and left wondering if I made the right purchasing decision...

If it's any indication, the unit comes with a small set of rotary bits. Though the inside of the toolbox holding the bits was made of cheap molded plastic that can be crushed by a finger. Leaves me wondering what other corners were cut to keep the cost down. My confidence on Dremel as a brand had been scarred by this new series.

I have two of these XPR's and use them almost daily. I do a lot of wood working, glass etching, etc.. I have used it for many other projects big and small. This thing has made me money and saved me a lot of money with home repairs and projects.

I highly recommend the 400 XPR.

Get the kits with more attachments (it will save you some $$$) instead of the smaller kits and getting the attachments separate.

As a new home owner acquiring tools with entry level. I liked it so far for its functionality even though I agree that it looks are not that strong but easier to work which I bought it for less than 63. I concern durability which time will decide. So far I used significant time along with tools it performed well.

It rescued me big from couple of ways that my cordless circler saw repeated charging even with 2 batteries left a task at the end of day I finished with 5 feet of cutting with guide cutting kit I bought separately (good deal @ Amazon again for 13 bucks). The planner attachment worked greater than to my expectations & looking forward even more help down the lane.

The main problem so far some times switch does not move to on position & frequently with attachment. - Tools And Hardware - Rotary Tool - Tools'

Blackout Curtains - draperies, home décor

I dont know if I shall call it a morning or night saver! My baby used to get up at 5am and refused to go back to sleep! of course this resulted in a groggy mommy and baby all morning long. I tried to purchase a regular room darkener, ye it did not fit underneath my horizontal blinds. I then did a desperate google search, and when i found this i was so excited! as soon as i put it on, my baby started to sleep 14 hours a night! Redmon Nighttime Nursery Blackout Drapery Liner, White

I purchased this in the hopes that it would help our toddler nap better. Unfortunately, ours did not come with the magnetic strips described here on the Amazon page. It was also not mentioned in the directions for the product itself. The result is that while the panel does block light, it seeps through the edges. It is also a bit too short for our window, but I suppose that just means we don't have a standard window size.

It's not too difficult to go get my own strips or find another method of totally closing the panel off, but it would have been handy to have. As for getting my toddler to take his nap, that's another story ;)

My 5 year old and 3 month old share a room. My 5 year old was used to having it brighter in the room and will sleep fairly late into the morning. My 3 month old was waking up with the chickens and as soon as we installed these curtains she slept until 8am. They work perfectly and we used an exsisting second rod and have pink curtains in front of it. They do let a little light in on the sides, but magnets or velcro will take care of that in an instant.

My little guy is 11 months old and pretty set in his nighttime routine. When daylight savings time kicked in, it really threw him for a loop when it was still light in the nursery at bedtime. I looked all through the offerings here on Amazon and settled on these.

They really did the trick! I have them on a curved curtain rod over a window with "room darkening" (HA!) mini blinds. I then re-hung the valance on a separate rod over the top of these. They look just fine by themselves, even with sky blue walls. Except for a little light that bleeds through the top, bottom, and where the curtains meet, the room is essentially as dark as it was when he went to bed when there was no light outside. He settled right back into his normal sleep routine. In fact, he's been sleeping in longer on the weekends when we don't have to get up. BONUS!!! I would consider getting some for our room, but I would want to put something else over the top of them in there.

We've had these in our nursery since our son was born 3 years ago and still love them. Our friends marveled at how good he slept and how long he'd sleep in every morning and I really think part of the reason was because his room was nice and dark. He started sleeping through the night at 7 weeks old =)

We moved him into his big boy room a little after his 2nd birthday and had to order another set of these shades for his new room too! We have these shades in addition to the blinds already in the window and then have sheer white drapes in front of these curtains for aesthetic purposes. I highly recommend these for any baby or toddler's room. Between these shades and a white noise machine, our son sleeps soundly for 10 - 12 hours a night!

The only reason I rated them 4 stars instead of 5 is because they don't completely block out all light at the corners etc and then during the day it's kind of a pain to open them for natural sunlight. You need to have some sort of ties to keep them open to allow sunlight in during the day. But overall, they are a great purchase and a must have in my opinion!

Not like the picture at all, I guess if you were planning on putting up a new curtain rod for it, rather than using it as a liner you might be able to get it to look like the picture--- it blocks some of the light, but a considerable amount comes in around the edges and at the bottom. Overall the amount of light that comes in the room is the same as before when we used brown curtains and a pull down shade.

After spending $500 on drapes that did not keep the light out one little bit, I purchased this for my baby's nursery and now he sleeps till 8 in the morning! I wish i can let all moms know about this great item.

I ordered these in a desperate attempt to get my 4 year old to sleep later in the morning. I thought there would be magnetic strips to seal out the light, but I was wrong. Yes, the material does not let light through, but PLENTY of light gets in on all 4 sides. I'm returning this product immediately. I just wish I hadn't spent all that $ to have it overnighted to me. - Blackout Liners - Blackout Curtains - Draperies - Home Décor'

Multifunction Printer - all in one printer, photo printer

This printer is great, I did a lot of research and decided to try it. I have never owned a better printer. It connected to my home WiFi and every device in my house (including my iPhone and my wife's iPad) can print to it. Pages print at blazing speed, and I can load both photo paper and regular paper at the same time and it automatically selects the correct media. Photos are gorgeous and text is super black and crisp. Push a button on the printer and it makes a copy or sends a file to my PC. I tried printing from my camera's memory card and that was super easy, the color LCD leaves no doubt about which photo is printing. It is beautiful to look at, although I'm sure it will need a lot of dusting (it is glossy black).

I bought this printer because my one-year old HP quit printing photos after I upgraded to Mac OS X Snow Leopard. I decided to give Canon a try. I will never buy another HP again. I liked their print quality, but they "abandon" you with driver support way too fast. Plus this Canon is easily 4x faster. And for $149, well what is there to complain about? I cannot comment on the ink usage, since I just got it, but I will update this review after a couple of months use.

Bye, bye HP, hello Canon! Canon PIXMA MG5220 Wireless Inkjet Photo All-In-One (4502B017)

Got the printer a week ago...purchased it from Amazon.com

had it unpacked, connected to wi-fi and print cartridges installed and aligned in all about 25 minutes.

ran some test prints ...looked great..you know..brillant quality etc ...thought to myself..not bad..Canon does match and excel HP printers in the quality of prints.

That opinion was only valid until I ran two photo prints - I was BLOWN AWAY by the quality of the phot prints. Just jaw dropping clarity and looks at least 2x better than those crappy CVS/pharmacy store prints.

Ink consumption..no idea yet..but with quality like this, I don't think I'm going to bother too much about ink consumption now :)

This printer is UNREAL :)

-a Happy customer.

I am writing this review for those who, like me, needed a copier scanner but are not able to spend 5 months researching it. If you are an expert, please pass by; but if you are part of the general buying public, learn from my mistakes, if you can.

The machine promises nice features. It wasn't that easy to set up, but it could be done without too much trouble.

Why the complaints?

1. It is slow and cranky. It powers done between jobs. If you wish to print two photographs within ten seconds of each other, that is no problem. But if you copy a piece of paper and come back to make another copy 5 minutes later, be warned: it will take up 8 minutes to warm itself up again. Not such a good idea when someone is standing there waiting for his original.

2. The ink. Oh,the ink. So of course I had to buy a black cartridge and then a set of black, cyan, magenta, and yellow cartridges. Since I have yet to print a color picture, I have never used any save the large black. But, within 2 months, the machine informed me that they were all low. At which point it stopped functioning. It will not scan, nor copy, nor do anything. So I spend 60 bucks replacing cartridges that have never been used. And now it says I need to replace them again. And it will not function without them, even though it has only been printing in black. The result is that I have paid Canon an extra $120 . I haven't found the machine particularly fun to use. Sad to say, the lady at the Fedex/Kinko's calls me by name: it is easier and cheaper than using my Canon Pixma.

I don't enjoy giving negative reviews, but most buyers are taking a leap of faith when they buy, and I am suggesting that they leap in a different direction. It is the advice I wish someone had given me.

Upgraded from a "great" Lexmark printer we receive for Christmas three years ago. Not all that happy about the Christmas gift - but what can you do besides use it until it quits working? Researched this Canon printer for a while prior to purchasing it and it has not disappointed me at all. Amazing speed for a color printer and absolutely beautiful color photos. Compared a 4x6 printed at Walgreens to a 4x6 of the same photo printed at home and the home version was better than the Walgreens photo. Works well with my Canon SX10IS camera as well.

Easy installation on the XP platform even with our wireless connection.

I would buy this printer again. easily.

Good quality printer. I printed using the fast print quality option and still the paper image was very good. The first cartridge I had to replace ($15aprox.) was one of the black ones after printing 70 pages on both sides. The only two things I don't really like is first that it prints pages starting from the beginning which is not so great when you are printing lots of documents and either you have to pick them at the moment to keep the sequence or you will have to arrange them page by page after all the printing is done. Second when the printer runs out with a cartridge the printer will not allow you to print unless you press that is ok to keep printing directly on the printer which is an issue if you are trying to use the wireless feature and you are not close by.

11/10/2010. Update: Thanks to S. Hans I just found out that the printer allow you to switch your printing options to print from the first or last page. You can even print 2 to 4 pages in one. Further, I will like to add that the second cartridge that I had to replace, the yellow (about $13), was after about 150 printed pages on both sides, plus, about 50 in one side only.

I am very satisfied with this printer. It is easy to install and works very well. After having a very difficult and frustrating experience with a wireless Lexmark (NEVER again), I was hesitant to try another wireless printer. I'm glad I gave this Canon a shot, though. I've installed it on both of my Macs (running OSX) and a PC (running Windows 7), with no issues and installation was simple. The quality of the print is good and this baby is fast! This printer/scanner does it all very nicely especially when you consider the price. - All In One Printer - Multifunction Printer - Canon - Photo Printer'
