When Motorola invented the Xoom, they did so with a power plug in mind that was totally non-standard. Even though countless Amazon sellers offer MicroUSB charger and car chargers, this product is the only one that actually works. The cable is long, the plugs on both ends are good quality, and it charges the Xoom at full capacity. The price goes up and down a lot, so if you find it for around $15, you get a good deal. There's not much that needs to be said about this product. If you need a car charger, why not go with the real deal from Motorola? It just works. Well constructed, quality material, long cable. The price is right at $15-$20 with free shipping. Enjoy!
good item, the ppl at the phone store did not have one available and thought the xoom used a micro usb power charge. This one frees up my xoom micro usb port for so i can tether it to wireless and use when i am out in the field working!
I'm a HUGE fan of my Xoom, with one exception - the tiny, fragile charge port.
I actually like Motorola's decision to separate the charging from USB, just don't like their choice of connector. The charge rate is much faster than the meager amperage that USB 2.0 allows.
This charger works flawlessly and seems to charge at the same (fast) rate as the 110v charger. This is my second 12V charger for the Xoom, for another vehicle, and is a must-have if you plan on using your Xoom on the road.
I've totally ditched my GPS in favor of Google Maps on the Xoom, and this charger made it possible.
The only drawback: the charger sticks out about 1.25" from the 12v jack. However, it's very well-made, as are all of Motorola's accessories.
Cord length is just right - long enough for just about any mounting scenario and not a coil so that it can be easily and neatly bundled.
The small white status LED is a nice touch. Looks good without being gaudy or too bright.
The only reason this didn't get 5 stars is its bulkiness, though I'm sure its probably necessary. - Xoom - Xoom Accessory'
