These are expensive batteries but a necessity as I have Black and Decker
work tools that need this type of battery. The Gold batteries do last

I had two Black and Decker Versapak-powered products, a Dustbuster and an electric screwdriver, that had lost their ability to perform because the batteries were too weak. These original batteries had lasted for years, but the original ni-cads were just worn out. I found this set of four Ni-MH batteries, by Black and Decker, at a good price and ordered them. Yesterday I cleaned dog hair out of our minivan with the Dustbuster - I've never seen it run so long on a charge.
