Wireless Access Point - access points, wireless access point

I have had a Microsoft Router for about 5 years now and it has been perfect in every regard, but I was really wanting to upgrade it and get the latest speeds....I was torn since my Router is still working great, I hated to mess with something working so good when you read the spotty reviews (some 5 star---some 1 star) for some of the new routers.

So I thought this one would be the perfect choice and after 2 months of ownership I am proud to say that it IS !...I just hooked it into a port on my existing router and now I have the Microsoft Router in B speed and the Trendnet N Speed working right beside each other perfectly...I am very happy with it...It took about 15 minutes to install using the included instructions and their website that is very helpful...I was able to print out the entire manual before I even got the router !

In the couple of months I have had it...Not one dropped signal...haven't had to reboot it...nothing.....It's been flawless from day 1....It works WAY out in my backyard.....and everywhere in my house (1,500 Square feet).....I get 80% signal in the yard and back porch...and 92% to 95% inside the house.

I have used it with a iPod Touch...PS3....and a Wii....and setup was easy with them all....even with the best security settings. TRENDnet 300 Mbps Wireless Easy-N-Upgrader (TEW-637AP)

I didn't think Wireless N was going to be this fast, but it is. It made everything in our wireless network fast. I went from 16,000 k/bs on a good day to about 32,000 k/bs almost consistently now.

All my older appliances that are on Wireless G and B work too without any problems.

I would have given it 5 stars if it was easier to configure. It was as easy as it described. I went out to their website to look for other documentation that made more sense.

I have a really good D-Link wired router that I did not want to replace, so I got this Trendnet Easy-N-Upgrader to add wireless to my network. It was easy to set up and works well, but it has some annoyances in the set up. There are options that should be selectable, but they aren't. Not a serious issue, but poor UI design. If you are going to force defaults on the user, then don't put clickable items in the UI and disable them.

Speed will never reach the advertised 300mbps wireless N capability because the wired port on this unit is only 10/100mbps. So if you are looking for an access point to deliver 300mbps, look elsewhere. Can't be done with this unit.

As far as performance goes the TEW-637AP has performed very well for me. Solid, reliable connections. Been using it for a couple of months now and it has been stable. Not a single dropped connection, and haven't had to reboot the unit at all. To the reviewers who have been having issues I suggest you check your firmware version and update if it's not the latest.

Setup was relatively easy. Trendnet says it's compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux OS, but the included setup CD, which is needed if you follow the quick install guide, does not have any Linux or Mac compatible software. So if you are running Mac or Linux OS you will have to configure it manually. Fortunately it's not hard to do. Just run any decent web browser and log in to the TEW-637AP (default IP is 192.168.10.100). From there it's pretty simple (the full user guide has instructions for manual configuration if you need them).

All in all I'm very happy with the TEW-637AP. It was cheap and it works very well. Just be aware that the maximum throughput will only be 100mbps (limited by the 10/100 Ethernet port) and the included CD is Windows only (Mac/Linux must manually configure using web browser).

Got this to upgrade my HughesNet Modem. I didn't have a switch so I was afraid when I unpacked the AP that I wouldn't be able to configure it since it only has one Lan-Port which it needs to get an IP-Address.

BUT a standard wireless was turned on by default so I had no problem configuring the TRENDnet AP to work with my HughesNet Hardware.

If anybody is trying to set it up using wireless as well just remember this little hint: On the final step of the wireless-configuration a message will pop-up and tell you that your configuration failed. This is not the case so just ignore this pop-up and reconnect to the new wireless-setup. (The problem here is, that the AP can't reconnect with you since the wireless-configs have changed - but like said before ignore it and just reconnect)

One more thing - this is only an AP (Access-Point) its not meant to have any firewall-abilities so dont't expect any.

- It has all needed encrypting methods from WEP to WPA2

- User friendly interface

- Standard security- and monitoring-features

- Option to choose the wireless mode (B/G/N or a mix of 2 or all 3 modes)

- Under Wireless-N-mode I was able to get the signal even more than 200 YARDS away from the House

So if you are looking for an easy and cheap way to extend your Network with a reliable Wireless - this is a very smart choice - Trendnet - Access Points - 80211n - Wireless Access Point'

Sony Alarm Clock Radio

This clock radio shares an obvious family resemblance to its highly successful predecessor, the Sony ICF-C218 Automatic Time Set Clock Radio (Black): 90% of the buttons and functions of the earlier version are implemented and placed identically in the newer model. The buttons and their labeling are so intuitive that a manual is hardly needed (but helpful for the Sleep and Time Zone buttons). The ICF-C318 possesses four new buttons, switches and controls and a feature that make it a more desirable model than the earlier one: a 3-level brightness button, a two-level buzzer volume switch, a second alarm mode rotary switch, a second alarm time setting control, and most importantly, the 'No Power No Problem' feature means the alarm will still sound even if the AC power is off when the alarm was set to ring. The efficacy of those new contols and feature were assessed.

The brightness control was a feature requested by many users of the ICF-C218 who complained it was too bright in a darkened room. There is no doubt that the display of the newer ICF-C318 can be set to be very dim (thus pleasing insomniacs bothered by the 'nighlight effect') but at its brightest setting it is still too dim to be seen clearly in a brightly lit room. The alarm buzzer is not really a buzzer, its a peeper and the two level slide control has little noticeable effect on volume - its just not very loud either way. When ignored the alarm peeps more frequently. If you need a really loud alarm, you will be safer using the radio alarm rather than the buzzer. The rotary switches to set alarm mode (off, buzzer, radio) are improved in that the indicator on the switch is a larger, more visible groove than the the tiny, hard-to-see pit of the earlier model. The alarm time set knobs allow a new time to be set very quickly and easily; they are just a little clunkier looking than the sleek recessed toggle control of the earler model. The 'No Power No Problem' feature is the best new feature for this unit that sets it apart from the ICF-C218. I expect my alarm clock to work at a very high level of reliability, a power outage is no excuse for failure of that function. In this regard, the ICF-C318 performs as expected, but the ICF-C218 fails miserably. If the alarm mode is set to radio and the AC power is off when the alarm should ring, the ICF-C318 uses the buzzer (peeper) alarm instead; the buzzer probably drains less energy from the tiny backup battery than the radio.

The radio portion of this clock radio performs adequately. The sound can be quite clear for a strong station but it is obviously not high fidelity. The radio portion of this unit is just gravy - the alarm and clock function are the only real crucial parts to me. It seems to keep good time. I synchronised it with an atomic clock initially and a week later see no difference between the two when they were compared again. Clock time is maintained by a Li wafer battery even when the AC power is off; I don't know why they didn't use a more common, cheaper, higher capacity backup battery like an AA. The clock will perform automatic advance and setback of the time for regions that follow daylight savings time. Fortunately, this feature can be disabled for regions like the state of Arizona that do not use DST. By comparison, Emerson clock radios that have 'SmartSet' are crippled - DST advance and setback cannot be disabled.

How about aesthetics? In my opinion the earlier version's (ICF-C218) simpler shape and flat faceplate were snappier looking. The rounded faceplate and rear of the newer ICF-C318 seem less attractive. But its easy to dismiss the skin-deep homeliness when the other good features of the ICF-C318 are considered. The ICF-C318 comes in a white case and a black case version (complete Sony model numbers ICF-C318/WC and ICF-C318/BC respectively). This review applies to both color models because they are functionally identical. Although I don't normally like white appliances, it is a little bit easier to read the black button labels on the white case than the white button labels on the black case.

It took a while for me to understand that with this clock there is both a manual and an automated way to spring clock time forward for Daylight Saving Time and to 'fall back' when Standard Time resumes. These two mechanisms don't always play nice together and that can lead to confusion. Well, at least it confused me. I should also point out that the instructions that came with the clock just discuss US Time Zones which have designated DST start/stop dates at least until 2015, and spring forward and fall back at 2AM. In other parts of the world, the designated DST dates and times often differ from the US so it is unlikely that the automated DST adjustment of this clock will be of any use (except in Canada). So where you don't fall into a US time zone, the automatic DST adjustment should be disabled; just remember to use the manual method on the appropriate date. And of course if you live in a part of the US (like Arizona) where DST is not observed, the automatic DST adjustment should likewise be disabled.

I have concluded that the Time Zone setting has no effect on anything including automatic DST adjustment. I can only envision one situation where it would matter or be helpful to set or adjust the Time Zone: if you take the alarm clock with you when you travel and in your travels you cross time zone boundaries. Adjusting the Time Zone allows the clock time to be altered in 1 hour increments without having to go through the Clock button to manually reset the time. Its easy to set the Time Zone, so why don't you set it for your zone anyway?

I will spare you some of the trial and error I went through to try to figure out how DST was implemented and if it worked correctly on this clock. DST adjustments are explained in the manual that came with the clock but those explanations didn't go quite far enough. I wanted to understand it so I could set this up for my mom and know exactly what would happen when DST started and stopped. Maybe my explanation will help you.

Before you start, use the Snooze button to verify the year, month and day. If incorrect, then set using the Clock button.

To Disable Automatic DST Adjustment For Places That Don't Observe DST

Hold down the DST button until 'Aut' then 'OFF' appear, then release. If 'Aut' then 'On' appear, release the DST button then press and hold it again to display 'Aut' then 'OFF' and release the DST button. If the DST LED is illuminated on the front of the clock, press the DST button momentarily: this will have the effect of extinguishing the DST LED and setting back the time 1 hour. If the time is incorrect, find a good reference time source and use the Clock and + - buttons to adjust. So now you are good to go in places like Arizona that don't observe DST. Put some clear tape across the Time Zone and DST buttons so you won't be inadvertantly adjusting them as you are stabbing for the Alarm Reset button in the dark.

To Manually Invoke DST Adjustment

First, make sure you have disabled automatic DST adjustment by holding down the DST button to get Aut' then 'OFF' in the display. To 'spring forward' the clock, momentarily press the DST button. This will illuminate the DST LED and set the clock ahead 1 hour. To 'fall back' momentarily press the DST button. This will extinguish the DST LED and set the clock back 1 hour. By this method you can easily compensate for DST changes in locations other than the US where the date or time for DST start/end are different from the US.

Automatic DST Adjustment

If you live in a US time zone where DST is implemented, the automatic DST adjustment of this clock is handy. It's handy because you don't have to remember to do it and because it's easier than manually changing the time on your clock. To enable automatic DST adjustment, hold down the DST button until 'Aut' then 'On' appear, then release. If 'Aut' then 'OFF' appear, release the button and repeat to display 'Aut' then 'On' and release the DST button. If the date is within the range for DST, then the DST LED illuminates. If the date is within the range for Standard Time, then the DST LED is extinguished. If automatic DST adjustment is on, then at 2 AM on March 9, 2008 for example the clock suddenly jumped forward to display 3 AM and the DST LED became illuminated.

Future Proof Automatic DST Adjustment?

I set the clock ahead to March 8, 2015 and verified that it 'sprung forward' at 2 AM like it should. Without checking the years between 2008 and 2015, I assume the clock would also apply and remove DST on the appropriate date for those years. So the automated DST adjustment of this clock is probably good for at least the next seven years unless DST gets discontinued or altered by Congress before then. Laptop Backpack - camera backback, camera bag

This is a great camera backpack, and for the price, can't really be beat. However, there are a couple of things that I dislike about the bag.

1) The padded dividers are quite thick and take up a chunk of space within the backpack.

2) The hammock system for the camera is neat but it also results in a lot of wasted space at the top of the backpack on either side of where the DSLR body sits.

3) The zipper for the main flap goes down all the way to the bottom but due to the rubberized "bucket" at the bottom, has to stop above the bucket section at the base of the backpack. This is inconvenient because the lower most compartments of the backpack are hard to get at since the flap cannot be pulled apart any more. That space is pretty much dead space because anything that is stored in there will not be easily accessible unless you lay the bag completely flat and then struggle a bit with pulling your lens out of the bottom most compartment.

4) The pouches/flaps in this bag are not very useful due to their lack of having any real capacity as they sit flush against the body of the backpack. This is my single biggest gripe for the bag because the other points made above are more easy to overlook. I especially find it hard to store my GND filters and polarizer along with adapter rings and cokin filter holder in the front/side pouch which is where I should be able to store them for easy access.

Don't let my list of negatives fool you. It is still a great backpack. I just decided to list these points because I didn't really see them in any reviews I read when researching the backpack. If I had, I might have considered a different backpack that had more pouch space for accessories. Case Logic SLRC-206 SLR Camera and 15.4-Inch Laptop Backpack (Black)

It has been a long trek for me finding the perfect bag, so far this Caselogic bag comes close but still no cigar... I am looking for a bag I can bring to work daily to carry my laptop and most if not all my camera gear and not look like a luggage is on my back.

The good:

- Excellent padding throughout the entire bag.

- Hard bottom for stability & protection.

- Divider padding is thick (see bad).

- Memory foam cover of the camera slot.

The bad:

- Shoulder strap is thinly padded (My Canon branded camera backpack has a beefier shoulder strap).

- Very tight fit for my 50D with battery pack, needs alot of forcing to zip closed (Canon 1D & battery grip pack owners beware).

- Dividers are too thick, wasting valuable space (easily remedied).

- The camera holder suspension slot is too tight, I can't insert the camera with the hood on (24-70mm). Going in and out the camera gets stuck. (It can be removed)

I have 3 bags currently (Canon & Lowepro Computrekker Plus) this Caselogic bag is an excellent size, not too big, and I was able to fit all my gear plus my MBP 15". However the bad listed for the battery pack prevents me from using it everyday. In addition the straps on the Caselogic slr206 concerns me on the long term reliability.

This is my second second Case Logic Backpack this size. The older model was ok, but didn't feel durable, and broke a couple zippers within months, so I was a little hesitant about this one. This model does seem a little heavier, more durable, and the zippers seem to be better, but the side straps for the tripods didn't last long. One broke within a month or little over. They are pretty good bags, wish they would be a little more durable. Because of that I have to go 3 stars...

The Caselogic SLRC-206 backpack would be the perfect camera bag if not for a few difficulties.

I like this bag. It looks sleek and feels sturdy. A hard bottom protects all of your valuable gear from impact or water penetration, and bright yellow movable partitions inside make sure your gear is snug and give you helpful contrast when retrieving it. There's an ingenious "hammock" that fits your camera outfitted with lens face down, keeping it from resting directly on anything, and a very soft material against the LCD.

Despite this, the bag is lacking in few features that really hurts it. I find both compartments (front and side) to be too small. I would be sincerely surprised if the side pocket expands to an inch in depth. Also, the front pocket's usefulness feels limited. I can't help but think that both could be so much more spacious and well designed, and, of course, a place to hold a water bottle would be greatly appreciated. I'd rather not have to sacrifice too much for art.

Also, quite sadly, there is no chest or waist straps. It was most certainly my fault for overlooking it, but chest and waist straps would have certainly distributed the load more evenly for long day trips with this bag. I imagine the unbalanced weight of a reasonably attached tripod on the side would make such a trip even more uncomfortable. In addition, it is quite difficult to remove your camera without moving the bag. Expected, but unpleasant.

In closing, I like this bag. Its useful for a camera bag, but lacks the essentials for any extended trips. - Camera Bag - Laptop Backpack - Slr Backpack - Camera Backback'

Replacement Water Filters - refrigerator filter, refrigerator filters

If you own a Samsung Fridge and are purchasing this product, you already know how your filtered water and ice taste.

I was not really happy with the price of this filter, but after wasting a lot of time on-line looking around for the part at a cheaper price, I came back to Amazon. Beware that other cheaper parts online are not always Samsung origional equipment manufacturer. (OEM)

I don't have personal experiece with these particular non OEM part, but experience with other non OEM have not always been pleasant.

This is the origional OEM part with a sticker sheet included to track the next time you'll need to replace the filter.

I have purchased parts from other online retailers typically with no problems. On the few occasions that I have had a problem you are pretty much on your own. Buying through Amazon is worth the literal few pennies you might save purchasing from other retailers.

4 stars becaue I feel the product is too expensive for what it is.

Update 2-20010

The ($40 plus shipping) price of these filters has become absurd. Amazon still offers a competitive price, the best you'll find on the internet for the OEM part. I installed a reverse osmosis water filter under my sink and put a T connection in to run filtered water to my fridge. The RO system delivers far better water quality than the Samsung filter. I removed the filter from my fridge. My RO system uses 5 filters in a year. These 5 filters cost a little more than one Samsung filter.

Watts Premier RO-Pure 4-Stage Reverse Osmosis System

I have a Samsung RFG297AABP French door refrigerator and this filter is the genuine Samsung filter I needed for it. If it takes you more than 30 seconds to swap these filters our, you're thinking too hard. Just twist, pull out the old one. Push in the new one and twist it in place. Couldn't be easier.

Looks exactly like the factory filter in my Samsung refrigerator and installation was a breeze! All you need to do is turn it until it comes off, but beware, some water may be left in the reservoir and it could drip so I advise you put a towel underneath the filter. - Filter - Refrigerator Filters - Refrigerator Filter - Replacement Water Filters'

Finish Nailers - finish nailers, finish

I bought this gun sight unseen (usually I go "touch" tools at the H--- D---- first, but they didn't have one) and am so far very pleased. When I took it out of the box, the first thing I noticed was how light it is. It's amazing. Here's my comments:- The nail magazine is plastic and the housing is magnesium making this thing feel like a toy in your hand. I'm still a little skeptical about the plastic magazine and wonder if it would withstand the daily pounding of professional use (I'm only a heavy duty homeowner). The good:- The oil free engine is fantastic. No oil on your work and no need to remember to oil it.- Easy to use and maintain.- Pretty much jam free (I've shot plenty of nails through it already).- VERY light. The bad:- Only shoots Stanley nails (PC and Senco shoot a different type of nail). Not a problem as I see it - [One home improvement store] sells them in boxes of 5000 (PC sells their nails in boxes of 1000).- Plastic magazine - Not sure how long it will last. Bostitch N62FNK-2 15-Gauge 1-Inch to 2-1/2-Inch Angled Finish Nailer

I have been shopping for a 15 or 16 gauge finish nailer for about six months. This Bostitch is the only 15 gauge angled nailer that I have found to be priced in the straight 16 gauge price range. This is the best 15 gauge gun at any price. Just hold this gun in your hand and you will be convinced that you can't buy a better gun, period.I had narrowed my choices down to the Bostitch, Porter-Cable and the new DeWalt. The PC was nice, the price was right and I have had great success with my PC 18 gauge brad nailer, but the 15 gauge PC was way too heavy. Almost twice the weight of the Bostitch. The DeWalt fit my small hands like a glove, was very light weight and within my budget (if I stayed with the straight nailer vs the angled model). However, I shyed away from the DeWalt models because the contact trip assembly had too many bends which didn't seem to operate as smoothly as the PC and Bostitch. The display model at a local hardware store already looked like it was on the verge of having problems. I'm not hard on my tools, but one nasty bump, or a fall off of the workbench and you might be out of business. Finally the Bostitch! At less than 4 lbs. it's the lightest in it's class, yet still packs the biggest punch of them all! 400 in./lbs. It only weighs about 1 lb. more than by Porter-Cable brad nailer. The finish and quality are second to none. It just plain ol' feels good in your hand. It's balanced so well it feels like an extension of your hand.I am on a major budget (per the wife), but this gun is definitely worth every penny of the MSRP of $.... So why is it selling for only $...? Either A) it's a "typo", or B) Amazon and/or Bostitch has gone loco. Whatever the reason, my advice is buy this nailer before they discover that they are practically giving it away. I'm sure this gun will be the standard by which all other finish nailers will be measured against. You will not regret this purchase!"TEN Stars....Final answer"!

From the sound of these reviews, the gun seems to work pretty good for homeowners & such. I've been a carpenter for 40 years. I've been using finish nailers for about 20 years. My last nail gun was a Duo-fast. I finally retired it recently, after 17+ years of service. Since the local lumber yard carries Bostich nails, I went with Bostich. I've had the gun 18 months & the piston rod has broken 3 times. Replacing it myself still cost me $35.00 a pop. Anybody who has trimmed a door or window or installed baseboard, knows it's immpossible not to hit a screw head or sheetrock nail once in a while. Well, everytime I hit one, the piston rod breaks. It breaks in the exact same spot. It appears to made of cast aluminum or something, instead of hardened or stainless steel. I like the gun & am thinking about getting somebody to manufacture a functional rod for me, since Bostich doesn't know how.

I am in the process of remodeling my "old" house. The walls are plaster which have become very brittle and delicate over the years. Hammering to install new molding was out of the question. I needed a gun that was light, powerful, easy to operate, and didn't require oiling so as not to make a mess in my home.I purchased the Bostitch N62FNK-2 nailer (my first nailer) based on the customer reviews and manufacturer information. This gun is absolutely amazing! It delivered everything I wanted in a nailer. I saved money because I didn't damage any of the existing plaster walls, all nails held firmly the first shot...hammering would have been a nightmare!! I was a little apprehensive about using a nail gun since I had never owned one before. It was so easy and so fast!! My only improvement idea would be that the manufacturer offer variety nail packs, so you don't have to buy such large quantities of only one size nail... BUT... Have No fear...Go for it...perhaps the best tool I have ever owned!

I just bought this as my first nailer. Overall, it's great. The design, operation, and fact that it's oil-less make it super simple to use. My first trim project would have taken forever if I had to nail it by hand, thankfully I didn't, I had the Bostitch N62!The only reason I didn't give it 5-stars is I was dissappointed to find that you can only buy FN-style nails in quantities suitable for contractors. Bostitch needs to get with the times and realize that air tools are not just for the trades, but serious enthusiasts as well. The competition is ahead of the game in this respect.

Wow! This nailer is so light I thought it was fake! Despite the lightweight, it packs a serious punch. Oak over oak is no problem. The store even said it would drive through concrete. It smokes my Senco tools. It is so much lighter, and so much more powerful. I used to have 12 Senco's but now I am going to switch all the crew over to this nailer.

I am a cabinet maker, and have been for more then 20 years, I bought a new bostitch T-36 finish nailer in 1983, to this day that gun has never failed to work, it has never been to a shop for repairs, of any kind. And I am very demanding of my tools, but I also take real good care of them and I do all of my own maintenance on my tools. I bought the new N62FNK-2 a few months ago because of carpo tunnel in my hands, and I needed a lighter gun to work with. All I can say is it is the best finish nailer to date that I have ever used, some of the things I really like about the N62 is it has low recoil in my hands when I shoot a nail, and the weight of the gun, and the balance, it's just perfect. when I'm shooting face frames on cabinet boxes the rubber nose really helps to stabilize the gun. I also like the power that it has, I can shoot a 2 1/2" nail thru 2 1/4" of solid oak and counter sink it a 1/6" at only 80lbs of air, and at a low counter sink setting using a 25' hose, so just think what you could do at 100lbs of air and a heavy counter sink setting, big oak crown mouldings, casings, it's endless what you could do. And for those who say they can't find an asortment of nails for the N62, I can tell you I have not had any problem finding and buying 1" all the way up to 2 1/2" nails for my gun. For me, it's the only finish nailer to have, and over the years I have used alot of different finish nailers out there, because most of my friends are contractors to. So I will keep my T-36 for shop backup, but with my new N62FNK I don't think I will ever need to use it. Thank you bostitch, you have done real good with this one. - Finish - Finish Nailers - Finish Nailer - Nail Gun'

Laptop Computer Bag - laptop case, 17 laptop case

My title pretty much says it all, I got this case a few days ago and absolutely LOVE it's design and the fact that it fits a 17" widescreen notebook without having to cram the laptop into the case! The velcro insert can be moved to make more space to accommodate the larger laptops. I love the seperate mesh zippered pouch for the power pac, it has lots of built in pouches and mesh pockets for cell phone, mp3 player, chargers and holds 5 cds or dvd's, has another zippered file folder for papers or books, another large compartment under the flap for pens and storage and then two more compartments on each side of the outer sides. I transferred everything from my overstuffed old bag to this case and you would think with all of those compartments it would be bulky and hard to handle, but nothing could be farther from the truth. Even with a 17" notebook everything is so compact and well organized it's still easy to carry and maneuver. This is a great "take on the plane" case because it fits easily under the seat. So durable and well made, Targus is now my laptop bag and case of choice. Definetly worth the price with the free super shipping! Targus Blacktop Deluxe Case with Dome Protection Designed to Protect upto 17 Inch Laptops CPT401DUS (Black with Grey Accents)

I recently purchased an 17" wide screen laptop computer and needed to upgrade computer bags. I shopped several stores and came to Amazon initially just to price compare. While here, I found this Targus nylon bag and after a quick review, decided to give it a try. I have had their leather bags for older laptops but this was the first nylon. I find this bag great! Mine is very strongly constructed, and had lots of useful compartments for cell phone, computer accessories. Biggest plus is the extra padding to provide screen protection. Very nice. However, there is one option on a computer bag that is essential to me, but not discussed in prior reviews and that is a strap or zippered section which lets you put the computer over the handles of either carry-on or checked baggage on airplanes. That features prevents a computer bag from falling off the dragged bag and lets you carry/drag both with one hand. This bag DOES have that feature by having a nylon strap that is almost invisible because it is "Velcro-ed" to the bag along the back. Yahoo !! Worth its weight in gold...

Also, to those who read the fellow who could not get his 17" laptop into the bag, you need to pull out the intermediate compartment separator bar in the bag and get rid of it so that the computer sits long ways, not sideways. That compartment serves no purpose for a big computer. The power cube goes in the small mesh bag that is included with the main bag. Great buy. Great product.

I've been looking for a laptop case for my new 18.5 inch screen HP HDX-18 laptop and the Targus CPT401DUS is a perfect match. There are no laptop case for laptops that are over 18 inch screen size. The nice looking CPT401DUS case is well designed and constructed with quality material. The Dome protection feature gives me added comfort knowing my laptop will have more protection from those accidental drop the case situations. The handle and shoulder straps are sturdy yet comfortable. All the storage pockets are well laid out and there are plenty of them so I can easily organize my travel items. Although the Targus CPT401 was meant for 17 inch size laptops, my HP HDX-18 fits perfectly in the case. The power supply for the HDX-18 laptop has to be stored in the front pocket but it fits perfectly, still leaving room for other important travel items. Overall, the Targus CPT401DUS is an excellent choice for a laptop case and Amzon's price is just unbeatable.

I've had this case since February 2009 and haven't looked back. This protects my 16.4 inch Sony laptop with rooms to spare (has safety restraints to hold the slim notebook in place). It's storage capacity is greatly appreciated as I can carry a book, my phone, laptop, chargers (for both phone & laptop), headphones and more in the notebook while traveling, without compromising the profile of the case.

The case has been very durable and is well made. It's not flashy by any means, but I've been asked on more than one occasion by other business travelers what type of case it is.

In short I'd say its the perfect case for someone wanting to combine funcationality, style and comfort all in one package.

For a 17" laptop be carefull. The pics. depict a smaller laptop. With a larger 17" laptop, there is no room in the body of the case to store the power brick charger. Just received case and trying to decide what to do with the power suppy brick. Concerned if I place it on top of computer, case may bulge. For that matter wherever I stick the power supply, the case may bulge. Taking another look at the leather Targus to see if it will provide more space for power supply and will return this one. - 17 Laptop Case - Laptop Case - Laptop Computer Bag - 17 Inch Laptop Case'
