I recently purchased replacement batteries for my Uniden cordless telephones on Amazon.com. I called my Mom (as her Panasonic telephones were losing power quickly also) and suggested purchasing replacement batteries for her telephones from Amazon.com. Upon calling around for prices, then comparing the prices with Amazon.com, I found the same results. Amazon.com was THREE times less expensive than the retail stores. I bought two of these for my panasonic cordless phones. Overall Im happy with them for what I paid. I dont think they hold as long a charge as the original batteries did but they are certainly sufficient.



For how cheap it would be to upgrade my phones, I wanted to spend as little as possible on replacement batteries to feel as tho it was worth it to keep the old phones. Im satisfied.

The battery item offered and purchased had a different mAh level then the one mailed out. This can create problems with electronics. Now I need to go and buy the battery this site said it was selling but in fact did not deliver. If I wanted the battery this vendor delivered I could have purchased it at half the price. Not worth the hassle.

In the past, I've been burned by 3rd party batteries. However, the price disparity between this Hitech replacement battery and a 'recommended' replacement battery was so large ($20+), that I just had to give the Hitech a try. I bought two batteries-- one for each of my handsets one month ago. They charged right up. I had a handset off the charge station for about a week and have had long conversations, so they hold a charge well. Great deal! - Phone Battery'

I have been using ths device for about 3 weeks already, and the following are the pro's and con's I encountered while using this device:



Pros:

-Cheap

-looks good, nice sleek and proffessional design

-nice UI interface

-radio

-battery life (all day non-stop playing and quick charge)

-light and slim



Cons:

- horrible headphones (no ear bud broke within an hour of first using it, the other 3 weeks after), but average sound quality. Recommend buying separate durable ear buds.

- Takes a few seconds too load and shut down, but this is a minor inconvenience.

-Organization, if you are looking for a specific song, you must either know the album, or know the order. Haven't tried other mp3 players before, but it is not that fluid. Feels like you are looking at your songs folder in your computer. (no search function)

-Video ( can only accept a really low quality format (.MTV), which you need a video converter for 99% of all of your video files, which is nearly impossible to find a good one. At the end, it will not be worth it converting.

-Pictures, really low quality, looks like something out of an old cellphone or gif.



Conclusion: If you are looking for a simple, cheap, straight forward mp3 player, I recommend getting this. If you want something extra, look for something else. Coby 1.8 Inch Video MP3 Player with FM, 2 GB Flash Memory MP620-2GBLK (Black)

I bought this to replace my other coby. I like it. Very light wich surprised me and good picture and i just dropped it and it still works which is a plus.



Pros

-easy to read

-easy music transfer

-portable

-sounds awsome especially with skull candies

- puts your music in order and even has album/artist order as well



Cons (nothing big)

- hard to find music when you have alot since you only have a push button but just hold it and it goes by kinda fast

- when you want to search for a new song you have to start from the beginning everytime which sucks but o well

- takes a few seconds to turn on and shut off but aging no biggie



Over all, good player and is well recomended

Sound quality is great. Good battery life. Very light and thin. Has a nice little screen, and rubber backing. Loads of features for [...] bucks (normally retails for [...] - rightly so), and nice 4 gigs of capacity! Obviously it's not an ipod touch, but I'd take this over a classic ipod or ipod shuffle/nano ANY DAY.. I also like that I don't have to feel like I'm handling glass when I use it. I owned an ipod touch, and I was almost afraid to handle it because it felt so delicate. This product actually feels light and durable. Also, it makes for a great flash drive, as well as having excellent reception in the FM tuner.. I highly recommend this product for anyone who wants a good mp3 player at a great price.

This review is meant to be helpful for potential buyers. I aimed to get an MP3 player that would play mp3s and audio books, while I was traveling; I was not making an investment in buying a showy new mobile device. The product first arrived on time. The packaging was great. Tightly sealed and protected. Most importantly the product did what I wanted it to do. The sound quality was decent. I didn't have much of a problem uploading audio tracks onto the device, but then again that might vary depending on one's familiarity with technology. It's fairly easy, taking about 4 steps. Any concerns about not getting what one pays for: this would have to include the radio function. It didn't work very well in doors for me. It's antenna must not be that big. For me that's fine since I don't plan on using it much. I think that the functionality and price match the product. I do not feel as though I was gipped in any way when making this purchase.

I was definitely not up with the times. I finally decided to get an MP3 player. I honestly knew nothing about them. I didn't want to spend a lot of money and make a mistake so I chose this one. For $30, if it didn't work well, it wouldn't be too much of a big deal. To tell you the truth I didn't really have much faith in this player's quality, because it wasn't an expensive brand or an Apple Ipod. I really wasn't expecting much.



When it arrived I have to admit I was excited to get started. I had loads of songs I wanted to hear that I didn't have on cd. I felt like a kid in a candy store. At first, I found a site I could buy MP3's from and tried to get my songs on the device. Since this was my first time uploading songs on an MP3 player I didn't know what I was doing and had lots of trouble. The directions it came with were not very helpful to me because of my ignorance with technological things. Finally after fiddling around for over an hour I finally figured it out. I bet a lot of you are thinking I am a real dummy, lol!



All I can say is I am thrilled!! This little piece of machinery is amazing to say the least. Once you get the knack, it is so easy to download your songs and add them to the playlist. When I saw how easy it was to upload songs from my computer to the device, I felt stupid for not figuring out how to do it sooner.



I bought a mini stereo cable and connected it to the headphone jack and the other end to my stereo's audio jack and I was pleasantly surprised at how loud and clear it sounds with my stereo system. The earbuds it comes with are a little uncomfortable and hurt my ears, so I am using my Sony Walkman's head phones and it is much more comfortable. My husband and 9 year old daughter liked this device so much, they want their own too. I will buy two more and highly recommend this item. It is well made and looks expensive too.

Although this book provided an acceptably organized compilation of movie classics, I was bugged by the fact that reviews/thoughts included spoilers, or revelations of the movies' endings.



I purchased this book in order to discover movies I knew not of previously or had heard of and was interested in seeing. The occasional spoilers are given without warning and made me read with caution to those movies that I did not yet know the outcome of, which was quite tedious.



Overall, the reviews were convincing and thoughtful when not completely blatant, but do proceed with caution. 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die

1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die could be a great film guide. It is loaded with both well-known and obscure films, many of which I have sought out and enjoyed after reading about them in the book. I've really started to enjoy noir films because of this book's recommendations.



The fatal flaw in 1001 Movies is that they frequently give away the endings! For example, they often tell you when an important character dies at the end of the movie -- what is the point of that? Look for a different guide that doesn't spoil the endings.

As soon as I saw this book on the shelf I knew it was for my ever-expanding collection of cinema sources & the selection contained herein did not disappoint. Except maybe for the alarming number of errors I found. ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN did not win best picture in 1976; as the next page testifies, ROCKY did. THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW was not narrated by Dr. Everett Scott; it was narrated by The Narrator(Charles Gray). DANGEROUS LIAISONS did not win Best Picture in 1988; a few pages later it states,correctly,that RAINMAN did. In the piece on Charles Chaplin's brilliant MONSIEUR VERDOUX, the end result of his work & the sentiments expressed in his film made him the target of the political right which led to his permanent departure from the United States in 1952. He returned in 1971 & was presented with a lifetime achievement award at The Academy Awards.

The issue with this book isn't that there are factual errors or that its list of movies isn't what you would pick. The big problem with this book is that the writers frequently spoil the movie for the reader. The most blatant example I've found is the review of "Don't Look Now", where the third paragraph recounts what is probably the entire last five minutes of the film. The writer then has the audacity to add, "It is no exaggeration to say that few scenes in the history of cinema have proven as effective at sending chills up the spines of viewers as this one." Also, I recently watched "Oldboy" and followed it up by reading the review in this book. The second sentence of the first paragraph, if fresh in a person's mind, would definitely have given away an important plot development. I'm glad I didn't read it before watching the movie.



Please, do yourself a favor and don't buy this book. Or if you feel you still want to, watch the movie before reading the review.

With the amount of junk that Hollywood feeds us these days, you need a source to help you find the good stuff. This book helps in the search for quality. It simply and briefly lets you know why these films are worth seeing. I have found many films from years past that I would've never seen if I hadn't read about them here first. Just about every great film from the silent era to the present is in here. Hopefully, more people will start paying attention to the good films of the past. Once you start watching these films you'll notice just how bad most of the the current blockbuster studio releases are. If we keep paying to see bad movies, the studios will keep making them.

For the casual film fan this book provides an excellent overview of the cinema for the past century. In order to fit in the large number of mini reviews and commentaries for the selected entries the editors had to omit a good number of films that many would have deemed worthy of inclusion. The most egregious omissions were of silent films, of which only a relatively small number were included from the many years before the beginning of sound films. Film buffs may argue with some of the selections, but the inclusion of "small" and cult films alongside the well-known Academy Award winners is to be applauded. The editors, though, were often sloppy with the sidebar award section, giving a film credit for an Oscar win when only a nomination was received. There are several instances when at least two films from the same year were cited as winning the same Oscar. For those like myself who can recite year-by-year the Oscar award winners and nominees, the sidebar errors detracted from the scholarship of the work.

I think this is a great book and I really enjoy reading through it's pages, but that is not the main point of my review. I want to clear up what I see as a misconception of the book that I see in a lot of reviews. This is not the "1001 Greatest Movies Ever Made" or "1001 Most Important Movies Ever Made"; it's 1001 movies you should (must) see to get a very well rounded sense of movies and their history. Some movies in the book are included just because they are great, others because of their historical niche in movie makeing, some because they illustrate a certain style, and some for pure entertainment they give. Movies with different types of animation are included and well as a broad spectrum of foreign movies. Think of this book as a watch list for a very in depth cinema appreciation class. Some of these films may not be great, some may not even be entertaining, but all are important, or illustrate an important part of cinema history.

I've had this book for about a year now, and it has truly become my own personal bible. As other reviewers have pointed out, the book spans the past century's film history and includes movies from well-known Oscar-winners to more obscure, independent gems. One thing I love about this book is that it does a fine job at keeping the list neutral -- there aren't more American-made films than foreign ones; there aren't more recent films than older ones or vice versa; there aren't more popular films than relatively unknown ones; there aren't more comedies than horror films, dramas than sci-fis, etc.



The included short essays/reviews on each film are concise and informative for the most part, though I must say it bugs me that some of them give the ending or crucial plot details away. The photos are all gorgeous and make this book a nice one to keep on display on your coffee table.



At the beginning, the book states that one of its goals is to make passionate film lovers out of casual filmgoers, and for me, it accomplished that goal with flying colors. Over the past year, I have become an ardent movie buff and lover mostly from watching at least seventy-five of the excellent films included in the book -- I've yet to encounter one I haven't at least liked. As I said, this book has become my bible and it's never far from my reach -- practically every weekend I find a new movie to rent/buy and immensely enjoy. It'll definitely make a believer out of ya!



The editor also notes that although 1001 movies might seem like an exhaustive list, it quickly becomes apparent that it's really not big enough. There are so many great movies out there (way more than 1001, trust me), but this book serves as an excellent introduction (and then some) to the world of film. Highly recommended to those interested in seeing great movies.'

These doors really do snap together, you just have to spread open the holes in the screen to fit over the tabs. If you have a metal screen, it would be difficult, but with the nylon screens it ain't no big thang. I have had several and they are easy! Then you have to gently tap the top half over the bottom with a small hammer. If you cannot take the screen out of the doorway or window frame, that would be difficult, but if you can lay the door or window on the ground, it's a snap.

We were installing this in our thick screen enclosing the pool area and it would not snap together over our screen. We were prepared for this since we had read other reviews saying it kept falling off, but it would not stay at all. We tried using plastic epoxy to hold it together, but it would not snap together in the first place so glue couldn't pull the sides together. We ended up using about 30 bolts and nuts to hold the two pieces together. We had to put them fairly close together because the pieces that were supposed to snap together just ended up holding the two halves apart. Then we painted those to match and it looks okay now, but it took hours of work and a few trips to the store to install.

This works great on my old screen door and I love it but I bought this one for my other screen door and it doesn't work I have the thicker screen for pets and children on this screen door and I'm sure that's why it will not stay snaped together. They are great if they work.

I bought this because I don't have a door that I can put a dog door in and this seemed perfect. I have a low window in the same wall as the backdoor that has my dog's house outside of that he climbs on so this seemed like a good idea. I built a small platform out of some scrap wood I had in the garage for him to jump up on to walk through to the roof of his house. Install was simple. I took the screen out of the window and laid it on top of one half of the door. I then used my fingers to push the small post like clips through the METAL screeen. Yes, you can deffinitly use this with a metal screen. I then placed the top half over the posts and used the palm of my hand to press everything together. A rubber mallet will make an easier install but my palm worked just fine.

I initially just snapped the door onto the screen as advertised, but shortly after, it started to come off. When I took a second look, some strands of the screen were stuck between the snaps. Once I punctured those strands, I haven't had any issues with it coming loose. In fact, both my boxer dogs tried to come into the house at the same time and took out the screen door right off the tracks and onto the floor, but the door stayed on, which impressed me. Also, make sure the door flap is square to the opening before snapping it in place. I had to shave off some plastic on mine after I snapped it in at a little angle, but it works fine.

This is the 2nd home that I have used this door for pet access to our deck. It installs easily and works well. For people who have had a problem, you need to take the screen door out and lay it flat on a solid surface. If both sides are lined up it will pop right in place. I installed it on a heavy duty pet screen and had no problem.

I love this door, although it does have some problems. It did not work well with the pet screen because it would not stay together. I had to cut out holes around each piece that was supposed to snap together, I guess the pet screening is to thick to allow the pieces to snap together. It works great when it actually stays together but mine keeps seperating. The 2 pieces keep coming apart from eachother and I have to keep pushing them back together. I don't know why this is happening I snapped them all together using a hammer as indicated but they still will not stay. I will just have to come up with an idea to keep them together. Otherwise it works good, the dogs took a little while to get the hang of it but now they run right through.

BEWARE of rip-off shipping on this item! I ordered it using "1 CLICK ORDERING" and didn't know shipping would cost MORE than the product did! Surprize! You may find a better price elsewhere. This plastic door is NOT worth $35.50!!

Like a number of folks, we had to install it on a large, bottom screen that couldn't be removed. Thus we had to do the following:

A)Get two 12"-15" long scraps of 2X4 and one much shorter piece of scrap wood.

B)With someone on one side of the screen, holding one half of the door up against it where it is wanted, have them hold the lengthwise 2X4 piece against the top of the frame.

C)You are on the other side of the screen, holding your half of the door against your helper's. Tell your helper to NOT PUSH on their wood, just to hold it firmly.

D)You place your small wood scrap at the top and "hammer" with your longer scrap against it, compressing the two pieces of the door together.

E)Do this all around the outside perimeter of the door.

F)Then do only a couple snaps of the INSIDE frame (the part that will actually open later.)

G)Now cut the screen on 3 sides with a sharp knife.

H)Open the little pet door, and with a pair of large pliers carefully snap together the entire inner door halves. You need large pliers, so if you don't have any, go borrow some. Regular pliers won't reach as far back as you need.

I)Then go around the outer door halves and check they are as tight as you can get them using those pliers.

Another reviewer gave up trying to get the halves to snap while the screen was in place, like ours. He used some wire or ties to hold the pieces together. - Dog Door - Pet Door - Cat Door - Pet Screendoor'

I downsized my office and removed an L-return desk and replace it with a corner desk. Desktop space is now comes at a premium so having a smaller organizer is a big help. Highly Recommended - ear buds, skull candy

I got these for my boyfriend a while back. Everyone has their thing, and his happens to be Skullcandy headphones. Before these, he had a pair of Titans but he really wanted a pair of FMJs because he'd been hearing good things. When he tried them out he was really happy with them. They're really nice quality, the sound is great, and he was ecstatic to hear they had inline mic because he likes it a lot better than using a bluetooth earpiece.



(word of warning about inline mic: you look like a crazy fool talking with ear buds instead of an earpiece. It REALLY looks like you're talking to yourself.) Skullcandy FMJ In Ear Bud with In-Line Mic S2FMCY-003 (Black)

I ordered these headphones w/mic and they work awesome! The only downside is that they have issues with the iPod touch! Mic doesn't work and volume jumps up and down! But this product does work perfectly with the black berry curve or regular iPod! They sound great! And feel really well made! Thanks for the product!

These are great headphones. All metal construction! No plastic here. I broke my original iphone headphones by leaving them on the floor and stepping on them. I was very excited to get these from reading the reviews, but since getting them I've realized an annoying but pestering problem. Maybe it's because they are large 11mm drivers, but the driver/speaker cones inside are VERY sensitive to pressure - specifically ear suction and habitually become inversed causing degraded volume and muffled quality.



I noticed within the first day that the left ear (with the mic and buttons) was significantly lower volume than the right and the bass was severely lacking as well. I originally though it had something to do with the mic and buttons being on the left - maybe the extra circuitry decreased the signal? But the difference was like night and day and it bothered me to no end. After all, these are supposed to be like $70 headphones!



After searching forums, it turns out the problem was air/ear pressure. The rubbery noise-isolating pads that help create a nice seal inside your ear canal to block out noises also had a strange side effect - it created a suction vacuum whenever you pull the headphones out of your ear. Basically every time you pulled the headphones out, the suction would invert the driver cones. Once inverted, the cones had a significant loss of fidelity as they just don't vibrate and produce sound like they were designed to. The result was a significant loss of volume and bass performance. The earbuds end up sounding muffled and dead. The only way to fix this was to physically blow into the buds to push the cones back into their original shape. You can actually hear cones "snap/crinkle" back into position.



Normally this would just be a small annoyance, but the problem is so persistent and I have to do this every time I take my headphones off. Imagine having to blow into your headphones every time you take them off to say something to someone or to listen to something. You can also remove your headphones VERY slowly and carefully every time you take them off. Especially since these are top rated expensive headphones, I shouldn't have to do this! The problem is more prevalent in the left ear for some reason but I've tested both sides and they are equally prone to this problem. Many others on the Skullcandy forums and Amazon reviews have expressed the same problem and came to no solution. Strangely, it was almost always in the left ear. I guess I was lucky to figure out the root of the problem. It seems to me that the 11m drivers are too large for their own good or the material used to make them is too soft and are very prone to inverting. This is a serious design flaw that Skullcandy needs to address.

I actually went to bestbuy to get these and paid the full retail price of $69...at the time of purchase i had a pair of apple headphones that came with the iphone that had already worn out, i asked a few employees at bestbuy and they all pointed to these.....I must say the sounds that are produced by these headphones are AMAZING.....Superior sound quality!!!!! but unfortunately as time passes by.....the cord itself tends to become a problem....especially the input jack that goes inside your mp3 player or phone/audio player....i was a but careless and started wrapping the headphone wire around my iphone and putting it in my pocket when it wasnt in use......this caused the input to mess up and now my right earbud works only when i mess around with the wire....it gets really annoying.....to the point that it became unusable. so i warn you.....be very careful with these headphones.....treat them kindly or FAIL.

As my first 'splurge' on some good (at least better than what the devices come with) in-ear buds, I couldn't be happier with the Skullcandy FMJ in-ear buds. Rich music quality, full base and great overall sound, as my first pair of good buds I never knew I'd notice such a difference in the sound quality. Definitely makes upgrading from these in the future a consideration. I highly recommend FMJ's to anyone considering them. - Skull Candy - Earbud - Earbud Headphones - Ear Buds'
