Baby - cloth diapers, liners

I love these swim diapers. I got a pair for both of my kids. They fit around their legs and waist great. Of course they aren't meant to hold urine very well but I hope you weren't actually expecting that. They do their job and keep what they are supposed to keep inside! They also dry pretty quickly which I like. Sun Smarties Basic Reusable Swim Diaper WHITE 6 MOS.

I so want these to work for us, I hate the idea of having to keep buying disposables, but these aren't tight enough around the legs to make a seal to prevent leaks. My daughter is petite so I bought size 18 months even though she is turning 2 but they are still too big. I will use them around the house for our own little pool but will have to either try another brand or size or pick up some disposables should we head to a public pool.

These pants fit well under my daughter's suit and do the job right. However, even after several washes, we've had problems with dye bleeding. After turning most of a load of laundry hot pink, we now wash them by themselves. It's great to not have to buy disposables anymore! Over the summer, this will save us a ton of money. - Cloth Diapers - Liners - Reusable Swim Diaper - Baby'

I love the chisel tip because the lines are bolder and easier to read when you're labeling something, although its possible to write small with them when you need to. I like the range of colors, adds a little variety to the otherwise mundane task of organizing/labeling. I bought this set a year ago and they are still going strong even after heavy use. I would recommend them. Sharpie Chisel Assorted 8 Pack

I bought these markers thinking that they would be about the same size as a regular Sharpie. They turned out to be almost twice as fat which makes them, in my opinion, a bit awkward and difficult to write with (and I don't have small hands). I don't think I'd buy them again for that reason.

The colors are nice and bright and the tip is rather large.

I wasn't sure I needed so many different colors but it turns out I really like having options and the ability to color code things. The markers work great, are a nice size, have a nice size tip but you can still use the angle to write more finely. Plus, buying the assorted pack was a great deal on Amazon...woo hoo

Buying these chisel-top Sharpie markers once was enough. They're useful only on really large items, as they forge thick --- not fine --- lines.

Unless you need large, hardware-scale pens, to mark huge boards or big items, stick with fine-point Sharpie pens. Or at least, dual-use pens, with fine AND thick points available, depending on how you hold them.

Just my two cents.

I worked with a batch of the black sharpie chisel markers and hate them. The sharpie cap has two parts. When you pull the cap off, an inner cap (which keeps the tip moist) tends to stick on the tip of the marker and has to be removed and replaced or shoved back into the cap before the cap goes back on. A bad product because it is not user friendly. - Markers - Marker Pens - Office Supplies - Permanent Markers'

I've been like a boat set adrift for the past few years because the only permanent markers I was able to locate were "Sharpies". Sharpies don't really mark anything permanently, they don't last long, and the ink smells like crap. So I went for this magic marker and boy was I surprised! I thought that the price listed was a mis-print but when I opened the package I was looking at the biggest magic marker I have ever seen. Unless you use the marker in a commercial setting it's going to last you for the rest of the decade -- it's BIG. While kids in this new era have been denied the smell of spirit duplicators, real magic markers, plus the smooth taste of library paste this marker kind of smells like they used to. Cordless Phone - cordless phone

Got this as a replacement for my dying BT-1007 type battery on my Uniden. Straight away saw that this had a higher capacity to the stock one. The Uniden is rated at 500mAh where as this one is 1500mAh so theoretically thrice the juice. Received it 4 days ago, and it is still running strong. I have not had to charge it since the initial charge. But as with any power storage device, have to wait and see how things go in the long run once the memory effect and all that junk kick in. Uniden BT-1007 Cordless Phone Battery Replacement For 2 AA w/Mitsumi - Panasonic HHR-P506 (Type 17), Uniden BT-904, Radio Shack 23-960 Battery

Great battery, The phone had a lesser battery and had to be returned to the base after every call. Now the phone can stay off the base for at least 4 days without needing a charge! Overall a great battery.

Just what my mother been looking for!! Most retail stores don't carry this type of battery. RadioShack charges almost the price of another phone if purchased there!!!! I'm so glad that I thought about searching for the product on Amazon.com

Amazing, the one that came with the phone's didn't work and so did this cheap replacement also not work. I know the phone and charging cradle work because I tried a battery from another one of the phones. I ordered another one from a different company for twice as much, and I hope it works. My $59.95 super deal Uniden 6.0 phone set from Geeks.com has so far cost me $78.50

Ordered this battery to replace my uniden phones battery which has been slowly dying. This battery seems to hold a charge very well. I have had it for a month so far and have not seen the battery life below a full bar.(although its on the charger almost everyday.)

This product was excellent for the price. I purchased 4 of these batteries for my uniden phone and they have worked perfect. With these new batteries I can use my phone for 6 to 7 days before I have to even think about recharging the phone. Would highly recommend this product.

This battery did not fit the phone for which it was ordered. The selling company, Bedford Power did not return calls to discuss return and refund, but

thank goodness Amazon helped and we got a full refund.

I received this product as shown. I bought two batteries, one of the batteries was defective. I contacted Ultralast and they sent a replacement battery within a few days. I could not find this battery in any of the local stores. I believe this is a fair price for the battery. - Cordless Phone'

Hewlett Packard - hewlett packard, 12 cell

I was reluctant at first to buy this battery because other reviewers thought it was too heavy, and it lifted the computer up too high in the back. I have found after using this product for a week that it has worked extremely well. The battery lasts at least four hours using this to surf the web or watch movies. I normally carry my computer in a pack with the original battery and the 12 cell, and I don't think it is too heavy. The battery sticks out under the bottom lifting the computer up. The tilt of the keyboard gives me more air space under the computer, and I like it for typing. I charge it up and run it out. The computer's battery charge indicator works just fine, and I have had no problems with it shutting off early. 12 Cells 8800mAh/95Wh High Capacity Battery HSTNN-IB72 KS526AA for HP Pavilion DV4 DV4T DV5 DV5T DV5Z DV6 G50 G60 G70 Compaq Presario CQ40 CQ45 CQ50

Bought this product more than a month ago despite the reviews about the loose fit and bad charge. Initially, I loved the long battery life and didn't mind the extra weight and bulge. Later, I realized that the battery didn't 'click' when I placed it in, and it would easily pop out. So, I went online hunting to solve my issue and found a great youtube video explaining how to make it 'click' and lock. (I have an HP G60) The problem is, to make the battery lock in, A LOT of pressure needs to be put on the battery itself and the sliding tab-thingy that pops the battery in and out needs to be pushed HARD to the lock side. Press down on the battery where the hinges are, push the slide tab with force, and CLICK! Battery locked in, no loose battery, and long life! I love it and the price is way better than paying more than $100.

i like this battery, i have an hp dv5 and my previous battery (that Bestbuy's warranty center said was running at its regular charge/discharge times) would die after an hour of streaming movies online (in balanced power mode) this battery under the same setting (first time charge) lasted about 3 hours, I'm currently running off its second charge and it seems to be running longer than that as the battery is calibrated. HP's battery check came back all clear no bad cells or any other problems. ALSO i failed to see this in the features area but this battery DOES have the charge status indicator (that looks similar to Xbox 360'c circle of lights but white lights, not green) and external charging port.

so far I'd say this was a great buy. oh and for the size, it makes my model laptop stand up about and inch in the back so its angled but i have no problem with that. and some review(s) stated that upon jiggling this battery their computer would loose power/restart, I have tried to make this problem reoccur on my laptop (again, dv5t model) and failed to do so, even went as far as to pick it up and shake it a little, all good there (not too hard though, its a laptop not a dog toy.)

So I went against my better judgment, thinking "There are more 5 star ratings than 1 star ratings, so it must be OK overall", and purchased this battery. A few things: 1) The shipping time was not good. It took them 5 days to process & ship my order for 1 battery. 2) When I got the battery, which arrived in fine condition and properly packaged, I attempted to pop it into my laptop. Instead of clicking right in, I had to jostle the eject button back & forth while simultaneously doing the same with the battery. I shouldn't have to jerry-rig my new battery just to get it to fit. 3) I charged the battery from 2pm on Saturday until 9am on Sunday (that's 19 hours for those keeping score) and, during that time, it had periods where it would say "Plugged in, not charging" and I'd have to restart the computer. It would start charging again, then fall back to "not charging." So, after 19 hours of expected charging, the battery was still only at 91%. That may sound like a high percentage, but the packaging that came with the battery indicated it would be fully charged in no more than 10 hours, so to not be at 100% after almost double the recommended time is unacceptable.

So I figure "This is as good as it's going to get" and unplug my AC adaptor to use the laptop in our bedroom. BAM! The laptop dies like there is no battery plugged in to it, even though the laptop clearly recognizes there is, based on the indicator in the system tray. If you read the other 1 star reviews (which I promise you would be 0 stars if Amazon allowed it), you'll see this is a VERY common problem with this battery.

DO NOT DISCOUNT THOSE REVIEWS OR THIS ONE. IF YOU BUY THIS BATTERY, YOU WILL REGRET IT. I hate to say that, as I like to believe most companies try to produce a quality product, but there is no quality to be found in this cruel joke. Bite the bullet, spend the extra few bucks and get a replacement directly from HP. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to start the return process on this piece of junk...

This battery took forever to charge the first time. Then it jumped from about 60% to 100% when I wasn't looking. I checked the battery health. Linux says the battery is 100%, HP says that one or more cells are bad. The next charge it got to 80% and then stopped charging. I finally just started using my old stock battery again, because this one weighs more than I do and doesn't really last all that much longer.

This battery fit my DV4 just great! It is a 12-cell battery, so it extends past the laptop bottom, creating an incline. I actually like the incline although most people on these reviews didn't. I read a lot of the reviews first and most of them said negative things about the fit or the incline. The incline makes it easier to type and creates ventilation under the laptop. I don't know about the other customers, but it fits perfectly with my DV4.

My original battery needed to be replaced because it was misused by my various family members. It ran out of power unplugged in 5 minutes! I definitely love that this battery lasts more than 4 hours on a full battery.

All in all, I absolutely recommend this product. - Extended Battery - Hp - 12 Cell - Hewlett Packard'

Shrinky Dinks

I am very impressed with this set. First of all, Shrinky Dinks are just as awesome as I remember them being 25 years ago. Although they are even more fun now, playing with them with your own kids and watching my 3 year old looking through the window of the oven as they begin to shrink. We played with them together for almost 2 hours!!! The kit comes with everything, right down to the hole puncher needed to make the dinks into necklaces etc. Everything is right there. Super great Kid. Worth the money and will provide hours of fun! Creativity for Kids Shrinky Dink Deluxe

I LOVE this shrinky dink kit. I have purchased/am purchasing it for every girls' birthday this year. My 5-yr old really likes to color the patterns in and then watch them shrink in the oven. I also like the accompanying supplies to make necklaces, barrettes, keychains, gift tags, etc. It's a great value for the price. If you have a child that enjoys arts and crafts, put this at the top of your list. All gift recipients (5 yr olds) have told me that it is their favorite thing to make.

One thing that I must stress is follow the instructions EXACTLY! Preheat your cookie sheet in the oven. Use babypowder on the foil. Watch the shrink dinks shrink. Do not use a toaster oven; you will not get the best results. I know this as a friend of mine used a toaster oven and didn't follow the rest of the instructions - the shrinky dinks didn't turn out very well.

when she opened the gift, she didn't get it.

one run through the oven and she was hooked.

she's not quite 5 years old. two thumbs up.

(I couldn't see giving it a low educational value - sure, it's not teaching her to read, but certainly there's a scientific lesson in there somewhere.) :)

Shrinky Dinks are awesome especially when you're stuck inside. We used them when family was over with a 8, 9, 15 and 4 year old everybody had lots of fun. My 4 year old needed a little help cutting the design out but other than that she was able to really enjoy this toy.

If you don't know what shrinky dinks are let me tell you how they work. First, you pick one of many designs out of the box and cut it out of the sheet. Next, you color it. Then, you stick them in the oven and watch them shrink, (this was everybody's favorite part)it only takes a few minutes. When your design comes out of the oven it's tiny a little thicker and shiny. You can use it for a charm on a bracelet or necklace or glue it to a hair clip etc. There are ample supplies in the box to make to make any of the afore mentioned items.

The perfect rainy day activity....crafty & fun but not too messy. Lots of different projects in 1 kit good for a playdate too. My 5 year old daughter & 10 year old neice spent several hours crafting together. It is really neat to watch them shrink...they do shrink very quickly. Read all the instructions as there are some good tips to avoid problems like curling or sticking together. Makes a nice gift too.

I bought this for a Christmas present for my 7 year old daughter. The coloring part was like any coloring, but small spaces, so not recommended for really small children to color. I cut out the designs because of the size was hard for her to handle. When she was cutting, the material would "rip" a little more. It does come with everything you need: hole punch, thread, jewelry, colored pencils, pencil sharpener. You'll need scissors.

I bought this for my six year old as a birthday present. She is into making things and she keeps asking to do more shrinky dinks. She loves the coloring and punching a hole and has made the charm bracelet so far. We'll be looking for some extra plastic pieces to make soon, but for now this is a good buy and she is having a ball making things and watching it shrink in the oven. She even demonstrates what they do when they shrink by laying on the floor and curling up and then getting flat again. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an easy fun craft.

This toy is great... but has a key design error... They are not including any blank Shrinky sheet !!! What if the kids are a bit older and want to make their own designs instead of just coloring the ones supplied ? They should have included at least 2 blank sheets...'

Garmin Nuvi 265wt - garmin, dashboard mount

My Prius has a rough dashboard and a windshield that slopes very sharply. Thus, the suction cup mounts are not good solutions. Fortunately, the friction mount is a great solution. It works much better than I expected. Very stable, does not slide, and lets me adjust my Nuvi to a variety of different angles. I can place the GPS anywhere on the dash or even on the center console. Also works great when transferred to my wife's Ford.

Only downside to the device is that it has a rather large footprint, but not prohibitively large. I like the fact that I can easily use this in both of our family vehicles depending on where we need the GPS.

UPDATE: Now that I have used this mount regularly since May, I have to say this is the best mounting solution I've found for a GPS or any other device for my car. It hasn't slid out of place once!! Given the rise in GPS units being stolen from cars, this mount allows you to easily stash your GPS Unit and mount out of sight and then put it back into position with ease.

2009 Update: Still using this in my Prius and my wife has one too. It's held up quite well. It IS a bit bulky to store out of the way when not in use, but still a good solution. I usually remove my GPS from the mount (a simple process) and then place the mount as far under the seat as it will go. Not perfect, but the best solution I've found to date. Garmin Portable Friction Mount

This mount works great. The selection of Garmin mounts is confusing as some are two parts and some are one. If you have a Nuvi with the included windshield mount, then this is the only part you need to buy. The included mount disassembles at the ball and socket joint and attaches to this one. I can't say it will never come off the dash if I do some really high speed maneuver, but so far it's held steady for all regular driving.

I like that it's easy to move the mount and gps unit down to the floor when I park. Yeah a thief could still see it if they came right up to my car but at least it's not obvious from halfway across the parking lot like a windshield mount is. A thief that sees an empty windshield mount is probably going to assume (correctly) that I've just put the unit in the glove compartment.

I have become addicted to my Garmin Nuvi 660 and used it for six months with a successful windshield mount. But now I have bought a new car. I discovered that the windshield suction mount left an ugly black ring on the window of my old car. (I assume I can get this cleaned up when I detail the car for selling.)

So no way was I going to put one of those on my beautiful new car. I tried the Garmin dashboard mount but shied away from the "permanent" disc. I found the "temporary" disc was just not up to the job of holding this device in place -- at least on my vehicle. I found this very frustrating. I read about the Portable Friction Mount, found a Best Buy store that had it in stock and ran out to buy it.

Though it is not terribly good looking, it does the job very well. I tried whipping around a few tight turns in parking lots and the whole thing stayed put. As another reviewer said, this lets you easily remove the thing and put it on the floor so it's not obvious. That may be more valuable than you would think. I know somebody who removed his Garmin Nuvi (and took it with him) but left the window mount in place. The car was broken into and the window mount alone was stolen. (Probably that was a pretty frustrated thief.)

Also, this will be easy to transfer to a rental car. And it will make it easy for my wife to borrow my Nuvi. Hmmm!

While the friction mount on the bottom of the beanbag is pretty darn stable even with stops, starts, and turns I sometimes would find it sliding across the dash. The solution has been to use one of those little 6x4 inch mats sold at Radio Shack or Walmart for keeping cellphones on the dash. The mat is sticky on one side but leaves no marks or glue. I have not had one slide since using the mat. I even bring the mat with me in rental cars. This gives a very secure mount that is very easy to take from car to car.

The first time I tried this mount was in a rental car for a Garmin C530, and I never thought it would stay on the slightly sloping dash of the Pontiac Grand Prix but it held firm going up and down San Francisco's hilly roads. That prompted me to buy one for my car. Essentially this mount is a bean bag with a mouse pad like rubber base but its engineered to stay where you put it and not slide around unless you move it. The good thing is that it stays put even if you brake suddenly, and if you drive in bumper to bumper rush hour traffic like me every day you'll appreciate this even more!

The advantages are:

- No sticking on windshield. This is a BIG advantage as the windshield mount starts to come off easily after a year of usage, less if you leave it in your car while it's parked in the sun. There is nothing worse than your GPS sliding off while you're driving round a tricky bend, especially if you are new to the area. Sometimes it can be downright dangerous.

- The windshield mount also alerts thieves that a GPS is in the car. A friction mount can be placed down under the car seat when you leave the car without needing to disconnect anything so that you're ready to go quickly when you come back to the car.

- The other big advantage is the ability to move it around to the position you want it. If a passenger is sitting in your car you can just slide it to their side and they can input the information while you are driving. It also makes it easy to slide it closer to yourself. Since I have the Nuvi 660 I often make calls with the bluetooth feature while driving, it is easy to slide it towards me when I am speaking to someone in order to get better voice reception.

This mount works for all Nuvis as they have the "snap the ball in the joint". If you buy any model of Nuvi then this is all you need, no other adapter parts are needed. It's also easy to switch this mount between cars or move it to a rental car when you travel. It has been the best and most useful accessory I could buy for my Nuvi 660. - Garmin Nuvi - Gps - Garmin - Dashboard Mount'
