Cowboy doll Woody is Andy's favorite toy, and as part of that comes the privilege of being the leader of all the other toys. His world is suddenly turned upside down when Andy gets a Buzz Lightyear action figure for his birthday. Suddenly, Woody finds himself in danger of being replaced as Andy and all the toys flock to Buzz. Worse yet, Buzz doesn't know he's a toy. He thinks he's the real Buzz Lightyear. But when the two toys get lost a couple days before Andy moves, they'll have to work together to get home. Can Woody work with Buzz when they don't have the same goal?



I can't believe it's been ten years since this movie came out. It's had an immeasurable impact on the animation field and movies in general. At the same time, its flaws are evident. The humans look as plastic as the toys, and the fur on the dog is laughable. Computers have come a long way in ten years.



Whether this movie was any good or not, it would have been an important milestone. Fortunately, it succeeds on an entertainment level as well. The story is masterfully told revealing plot points and character equally. The movie is extremely funny as well; with lots of jokes for the adults in the audience and some classic lines I quote all the time. Plus it introduces us to a Pixar staple, the climax that will not quit.



Pixar has released great DVD's from the start, and this two-disc set is no different. The movie is transferred directly from the digital files, so the picture is perfect. Sound is wonderful in two separate 5.1 surround tracks. Many of these extras are from the Ultimate Toy Box release of a few years ago, and they are well worth having. The commentary is very informative. The deleted scenes are interesting, but it's obvious why they were deleted. The new features looking back at the movie from ten years later are wonderful as well.



This is a ground breaking movie that is just as much fun to watch as it is historic. I hadn't watched it in quite some time and was reminded just how fun it is. I've got to watch it more often. Toy Story (Two-Disc Special Edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo in Blu-ray Packaging)

"Toy Story", the landmark movie that ushered animation into the computer age, is still a bona fide family classic- and funny as all get-out to boot. This superb package brings it all back, both the movie itself and an Al's Toy Barn full of bonuses.

First things first- the movie looks and sounds fantastic!

I don't have one of those flashy home-theater outfits, but this digital print shows off some great color, with the various toy characters in pristine, bright glory. Sound master Gary Rydstrom upgraded the soundtrack to the point where you can hear the click of the tiny toy soldiers. Best of all, you don't need a 50-inch screen or ultra-Dolby amp to enjoy this newer-than-new view.

The movie, of course, introduced a new, innovative animation outfit called Pixar to the world- and what a job they did on this first feature effort! Woody and Buzz Lightyear, of course, are icons to kids of all ages, but all the other members of the "Andy's Room" community were great- and funny. Mr. Potato Head (voiced by Don Rickles), Rex the dinosaur (Wallace Shawn) and even the little green Army sergeant (war-movie vet R. Lee Ermey) are just a few of these classic inanimate objects turned flesh-and-blood- well, almost- characters.

The storyline- a combination of buddy comedy, toy fair, sci-fi flick and domestic sitcom (to name a few elements) is, in its own way, as multi-layered and satisfying as the most mature adult dramas. From the moment all the toys come to life when Andy's away to a great exit line when the toys learn about his latest surprise gift, you're drawn in to this unusual world that's as striking now as it must have been a decade ago.

Disc 1 has both the movie and a new feature with both the Pixar team and a few others (Chris "Robots" Wedge, George Lucas, Roy Disney) offering their views on what "Toy Story" did to transform the entire animation genre. It's Disc 2, however, that has the goods- a couple of dozen features, clips and art galleries that literally break down the walls and give both the kid/family core crowd and the animation scholar a remarkable look at how much effort goes into this sort of film. The fact that Pixar and the CGI form themselves were in their infancy at the time only enhances just what great craftsmen these people are.

After an entertaining coffee-talk session involving Pixar's "four horsemen"- the core writer/artist/director/geeks who helmed every future project up to "The Incredibles"- we can check out everything from sequence development, sketch to full-on; galleries on characters like Woody and Buzz set to music; a multi-language sequence (from Finnish to Chinese to Turkish!); even Randy Newman's original piano-and-voice (and he's a fantastic piano player!) demo score. Nothing- I say, nothing- is out of place.

"Toy Story" is simple enough to be an ideal choice for a "child's first movie" yet sophisticated enough to give the serious cineaste plenty to study. It's as witty as the best literate comedies and as warm as an old-style family saga. It proved that top-drawer stars could also be great voice actors, and it entered a child's world with a fresh, not-so-"kiddie" angle. It balanced off sweet little Andy with mad-scientist Sid (his mutant monster-movie toy creations are a show in themselves)

in a great show of kids with personality. And it established Pixar as the flagship of animated features- again, it's incredible that this was their first!

"Toy Story", the super-deluxe edition, is a must for any animation buff, family with kids, or just about anyone who loves movies. I'm already on line for the upcoming (New Year's) "Toy Story 2" set, which will give its equally-great sequel (dare I say the "Godfather" and "Godfather II" of animation?) the format it deserves. First of all, I would like to point out that the picture is misleading. It shows just the back piece, but there is also a front cover included, which is a good thing. The front cover snaps to the back cover. The fit is pretty good, not perfect. The seams are a bit obvious. Still, it works pretty well. Fits perfectly and price is not bad. Once the covers goes on, its hard to take off.

However it says "rubber hard case" more like plastic hard case.

I have dropped it twice since having it on and being that it was plastic, some parts of the corner have started to chipped off.

Overall, its a good product

wasnt too sure about it at first when i was holding just the case, seem too light and cheap, but when you put it on it feels great. It is very soft and it snaps together. makes the phone look much better. 5*

The case was good for a few days until something more robust and durable arrived - a major problem is that soon after arrival (only on phone for two to three days) the rubberized coating around the plastic started peeling off.

The case fits on well and costs much less than similar cases at the T-Mobile store. However, I have had the case for about 3 weeks and the silicone gel covering the case is peeling and the sides of the case are becoming cracked. Structurally the case is fine. If you are looking for a inexpensive case and ascetics don't bother you too much then this product will work.

The case arrived a lot faster than I expected and came in a tiny box. The only bad thing about the case is I have dropped my phone twice with the case on since I got it and part of the case already snapped off. It makes the phone look pretty cool if its all in one piece.

I rate this case a 3/5 because I also purchased another case (Body Glove) and both cases arrived at the same time and I am comparing them to each other. While this case is slimmer than the body glove (a plus in my book), it does not have the multi-function belt clip :( Other than that, this case is good. The back of the case is smooth (not textured) and may slide across tables, etc., although it hasn't been an issue for me. For ppl with a loose grip, the smoothness may be a problem. Unlike the Body Glove case, ALL of the phone openings/ accessories are accessible with this case, including the brass contacts on the side. The cases front piece encloses the phones screen well. The snaps, which are on the front piece and hold the 2 pieces of the case together, close securely. I've taken the case apart several times, none of them seem flimsy or weak. The best part is the price. Overall= good case.



P.S.- I recently ordered four more of these cases and was not as pleased with this order as my original one. The only issue I had with the second set of cases was getting them off the phone (for battery/ memory card swaps). When trying to take the case off, the snaps broke. This engraver has battery only, no electric as the item description says. It is convenient to have the battery power, as you have the freedom to use it anywhere, but definitely invest in rechargeable batteries and a charger.



I did anticipate the thicker point, as the description says 2.something mm, but since it is advertised as a "watch engraver", I thought it would be ok. It's not. The diamond ball point does not give a clean, smooth line as more expensive engravers do, but rather a blurred, slightly jumpy line. If you're looking for a jewelry engraver, I wouldn't consider this one. But for tools, or anything else that doesn't require fine engraving, this is very worth the price. I purchased this alarm clock for my 14 year old. We have tried numerous other alarm clocks for her, even the ones with the bells on top that clang. She has slept through them all, sometimes even when they go off for 30 minutes near her head. This year she started high school and has to get up much earlier. The iLuv has woken her up much more quickly than any other alarm clock! I no longer have to get up and drag her out of bed. Here is the rundown:



Pros:

+Docked flawlessly with my iPod nano 5g.

+All buttons worked.

+Ability to have auxiliary input.

+Wake up bed shaker is a nice touch. (and it has a very long cord)

+Alarm is a beep that gets louder over time (and can be used in concordance with the bed shaker)

+Can customize both alarms to incorporate different alarm types (ie. Shaker and beep, shaker and playlist, etc)



Cons:

-Sound was absolutely unbearable with any bass (even with ipod EQ settings set to bass reducer)

-Wake up bed shaker is not as strong as I hoped it to be.

-Product "feels" cheap (thin plastic, cheap buttons).

-Time setting is clumsy and difficult, why not just have it sync to the atomic clock (my $15 walmart clock did that)

-There are two bass "holes" in the back that appear to do nothing (I don't hear anything coming from them)

-Many comparable docks have remotes included. This does not.

-The screen does not look like it does in the image. It has a bright blue backlight.



Bottom Line:

This is great if you want an alarm clock with multiple alarm features that will also charge your iPod. You should not get this if you want to listen to music on it.



Why I gave it 2 stars:

I got this so I could listen to my iPod while I go to sleep. The sound quality is so unbearable that I stopped using it. It still has nice alarm features, but is overpriced for what I wanted.

A great concept let down by a few design flaws.



My intent for buying a new alarm clock was two-fold:

1) To enable me to set an alarm which would wake me, without disturbing others

2) To have a way to dim the clock so it would not disturb my sleep with too much light in the room.



Having this connect to an iPod Nano was a bonus.



The first thing that impressed me from the specs on this alarm clock was the bed shaker. Now, take note, this says Bed Shaker - and it truly is. Anyone sleeping on the same matress will feel their skull vibrating almost as much as yours, even when you place the vibrating disc under your pillow. 9/10 points for effort - 4/10 points for implementation



The second thing that persuaded me to this model was that it appeared, from reading through the reviews that the brightness on the clock was settable from 0 (no backlight) to 9 (bright enough to read a book by). This seemed great as this would allow me to have the backlight off for sleeping and adjust it if/when I needed to read the clock... However, the implementation of this is a fatal flaw for me with this product. Let me explain in detail:

a) The brightness change requires you to set a new overall brightness level; so if you are at 0 you click the Dimmer/Snooze button and it goes to 1. To turn the light off you have to click the button another 9 times to cycle back to 0. This is awkward, though is way surpassed by the loud clicking made by the cheap switch which wakes anyone else not wearing earplugs...

b) Insult is added to injury with the design of the Dimmer/Snooze button. Imagine you're sleeping with the backlight off (Dimmer 0) and the alarm occurs - you hit the button to increase the brightness, but it's a joint-function Dimmer/Snooze button... So, the alarm snoozes - and no matter how many times you hit the dimmer/snooze button again, to turn the brightness up to see the time, nothing happens. It appears the the clock is in "alarm mode". The only way to see the clock is to fumble for the alarm off button, turn off the alarm permanently and then hit the Dimmer/Snooze button again to now increase the backlight on the clock to level 1.

I know, and apologise, if this appears like a rant - and maybe my unit is faulty as the Dimmer 1 setting is incredibly bright and disturbing to sleep.



On the brighter side. The iPod functionality works well, even on the new iPod nanos, and the speakers are ok - definitely not hi-fi, but for a bedside table to listen to music whilst reading a book, they are adequate.



Anyway, please take the review as is, and if you we looking to an alarm clock with similiar prerequisites steer clear of this one. I wish/hope that these flaws are corrected and welcome any feedback to highlight better alternatives.

I personally don't regret getting this alarm clock, there are some downsides but they are easily negligible.



Pros:

-The bedshaker and alarm is very effective

-The sound quality of the speakers is decent

-The time on the clock is clear

-The alarm clock is multipurpose, can serve as a speaker system for your laptop or computer if you desire

-The radio is pretty good, the antenna is small and can provide decent service

-You can change the brightness of the screen display

-iPods work in general, and this clock charges it

-You can use it without an AC adapter by batteries

-Snooze button is easy to access when you're dead asleep



Cons:

-It is confusing to use at first, you might adjust to the controls

-The buttons are very loud, so you might disturb the other person if you share your room

-iPhone 3G shows up as not compatible for some reason, but you can charge it perfectly

-May cause problems in your iPod if you use sleep

-Bit overpriced



In all, this alarm clock is good, but there are small things that can be fixed. It's a bit overpriced, but I really liked the design which brought me to buy it. Amazon has some of the price slashed then if you bought from the original company.'

This is about the most common brad size I use in my shop. These are fairly soft, so deflection can be a problem if you are not careful about the material you are nailing. Avoid knots and obtuse angles on plywood. They hold well and can be difficult to remove once driven. B and C Eagle B18-112 1-1/2-Inch by 18-Gauge Brad Nail, Galvanized, 5000-Per Box

I purchased these brads along with a Porter Cable Nailer. The width of the heads are 10% less wide than the Porter Cable brads that I purchased at Home Depot for a cheaper price! The Porter Cable items have a better holding surface too.

These 18 ga nails are not of the size necessary for the 16 ga Porter-Cable Finish Nailer that they are typically advertised with (FN250A). They sometimes came out 2 at a time, not at all, or caused the nailer to jam. I called Porter-Cable, and acquired the correct size nails, and the problems went away. I would not recommend these 18 ga nails, especially for this 16ga nailer.

I have used these nails extensively in my Bostich BT-50 (on my 3rd box of 5000) with no problem at all. Possibly other manufacturers have lower tolerances or are not up to par with the Bostich, but the nails work just great..... - Brads - Brad Nails'

Wandas Evil Scheme - dry erase, dryerase

I spent 10 years teaching in a blackboard and chalk environment, but I changed jobs several years ago and I've been teaching in a whiteboard and dry erase marker world ever since.



I have to admit that I was hesitant to make the switch - people don't like change, but I've come to appreciate the increased flexibility that dry erase markers can give.



I routinely use 5 or more different colors of markers in my zoology courses (black, red, green, blue, orange, and sometimes others), and I've been particularly pleased with Expo Dry Erase Markers.



I find these markers to have brilliant colors, I quite like the orange ones :-)



Of course, no marker lasts forever, and like any marker, once these start to run out or the tip dries out it's a gonner. Until then though they work great.



Likes:

- I like the fact that you can tell when the pen cap is firmly seated - a must for lengthening marker life

- I also like how the pen cap fits easily and securely into the opposite end of the marker so you don't lose it while you are writing.

- I like that fact that the color of ink in the marker is clearly indicated on the pen body.



Dislikes:

- The chisel-point tip on these markers is too fine. When a marker is brand new you have plenty of ink, but because the ink tip is so fine you have to hold the pen at a particular angle to get a wide enough like to make a bold mark that is wide enough for students at the back of a 100-seat lecture hall to see. Then by the time the pen nib gets into a workable shape to produce a nice heavy line every time you shortly run out of ink.



All in all, these are very good pens, but not without some minor issues, thus 4 stars for teaching. These would be worthy of 5 stars if they were used only for personal in-home white message board use.

The markers are dark and clearly visible, while the eraser is fairly thorough. The box comes with a plastic-molded container (as you see in the picture), with double-sided tape for easy, stable, mounting on a wall beside the whiteboard. For the low price, this is unbeatable.

They write consistantly well. Seem to last fairly long. The price is good. The eraser works as well as most other dry erase markers.



They got here fast...



I'm not sure what else to say about dry erase markers...

I use these for whiteboard teaching presentations. I love having the additional colors of Orange and Brown to the standard primary colors.

If you do any sort of technical presentation where having multiple colors is useful, this is a great purchase. I've been using EXPO markers for many years and they've never let me down. Good quality markers at a reasonable price shipped free; there's no down side to buying these.

i've been using these for a couple of weeks. At first they worked out great. Now the ones that I've used for a couple weeks aren't working so well. And whereas at first it was easy to erase the markings, now it's much harder. The ones that I've used for a couple of weeks are harder to write with and much, much harder to erase.



I understand that felt markers don't last forever, but it's only been a couple weeks.
