Playstation 3 - headset, xbox 360

When i started to shop around for a gaming headset, i mostly heard about two main brands: Turtle Beach and Triton. Many people say that you can't go wrong with either. But, while shopping around, I came across Sharkoon. There really isn't much online in regards to this headset, so i figured i would check out their higher-end headset. (The X-Tatic 5.1 with surround sound) This headset received fantastic reviews across the boards. I figured if the company made quality headsets, i would check out the x-tatic sp...even without any reviews online. And i am not disappointed.

What made me reluctant to go with the Turtle Beach PX21 headset is how it looked. It was not very sexy. The Triton AX-180 looked nice, but it was $80. Since the x-tatic sp was $10 cheaper, i figured i would check them out. Not only is the sound excellent and crisp, but the headset is extremely comfortable and is continuously comfortable for long periods of time (which is important for a gaming headset). My brother has the Triton AXPROs and he loved this headset. (for those of you who don't know, the AXPROs have surround sound and are the top of the line Tritons) Why spend more than double the money to get surround sound when you can get a great sounding headset at this price range? And, for those of you who doubt the price of a stereo gaming headset, it is totally worth the price. I have never used one before while gaming...and it makes a total difference. People aren't lying when they say they hear things they didn't hear before. Its true! When you run by trees/brush you hear the rustle as you run by. You hear footsteps. Gun fire and other sounds help you locate where the shots are being fired so you can find the enemy. Even without a 5.1 surround sound headset (which really only refers to the amount of speakers in the ear cup to produce that surround sound feeling) you hear the sounds as if you were in the middle of the action. Shooting games just feel like they were made to be played with a headset like this.

So, if you are in the market for a stereo gaming headset, i can't knock the Turtle Beachs or Tritons, but i can definitely say that these would not disappoint. Great sound quality and comfortability...all you need in a gaming headset! Sharkoon X-Tatic SP Gaming Headset

I really dig using my expensive and well thought out home theater system to play Battlefield on w/ my PS3. But, my wife doesn't dig it quite as much especially when I have a bit more free time and go on a marathon session. I bought this headset after reading the reviews and figured if I didn't like them, I'd just send them back. I have to say that I'd never really heard of Sharkoon but I'm really impressed with these headphones. I doubt that you get any added benefits out of a "5.1 or 7.1" headphone set, so save your money. A true 5.1 or 7.1 system relies on placement of the speakers and it's impossible to place 5.1 or 7.1 speakers correctly inside a pair of headphones.

More to the fact, these things sound really, really good. They have a good amount of low end for my Battlefield action. The highs are crisp too. And the wife can't complain too much when I'm gaming in silence. These thing can go really loud so be careful. They seem to be really well made and should last quite awhile. The snap in microphone works well as well.

Couple notes- if you like to play further away from your console, invest a couple dollars into a USB extension cable. The usb port provides the power and also is for the microphone as well. The included USB cable is pretty long but, I like to sit further back. Also with the PS3 make sure you have your original video/audio output cable. This is what the headphones hook into for the sound. Other than that you're good to go. The headset has 2 volume controls - for the headphones and mic respectively as well as a mute switch for the Mic. If you are going to be using these off and on and still want to use your A/V receiver also make sure you select the "mutiple audio output" selection in the PS3 settings panel. This will allow you to switch between your headset and A/V receiver/ TV without having to constantly make any changes in the settings.

Bought these for my son to use on Xbox 360.

These babies rock, excellent sound quality from highs to bassie lows.

Compared prices on other headsets and thought I would take a gamble on Sharkoons.

Not disappointed what so ever.

Thinking about ordering another set for myself to use on my pc. Whats nice is these will work for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 or easily connect to Pc or laptop.

Excellent value and excellent product.

First off I did extensive searching in a quest for a good gaming headset for the ps3. The sharkoon is an excellent gaming headset with easy installation for the ps3. The cord is long and thick, which is very good however it can tend to get a little heavy if you have to get up to move something. Comfort level is very good on the ears but your ears will definitely get a little warm after a while. Sound quality is very good the mids and highs come through very clean. The bass isnt the best in the world but Im also comparing it to my yamaha surround sound system also. I purchased the set to give my son and wife a break from the "booms" of my call of duty games. You cant go wrong with this heaset for the price and is a good alternative to any turtle beach or tritton headset. - Headset - Playstation 3 - Gaming Headphones - Xbox 360'

Garmin Nuvi 1350t - garmin accessories, mount

Left my previous suction cup + bracket in a rental. Purchased this item and just received it. It comes in a Garmin box ("Authentic Garmin Accessory") and comes complete with suction cup and bracket. Exactly as pictured. As indicated on the box, it fits the Garmin 200/205 series. Garmin Vehicle Suction Cup Mount

I received only the suction cup mount, but not the bracket shown in the picture, my order looks like item 010-10747-00 from Garmin, which is only the mount. This obivously makes the mount useless, since I'm purchasing this mount to replace one that was stolen. I'm still trying to figure out if it was a mistake from Amazon, or the item does not come with the bracket. I would rather have purchased this directly from Garmin, since now Amazon is giving me headache and money loss from having to return the item for refund.

Garmin Suction Cup Mount (010-10936-00)

I know a lot of people had a concern about whether this ships with the bracket. I was anxiously waiting for the product to arrive since I wasn't sure if the bracket was included...worry no more the package just arrived and it included the bracket as well. It's in Garmin packaging, just need to stick it on the windshield and see if it stays on as well as the one I just misplaced in a rental car.

Vevek

The suction cup works fine, however, this suction cup mount is only for certain nuvi devices, something that is not made clear in the product description. It works with the 205w, 200w, 205 and 200 series. I have a 350, and the antenna flap cannot be put in the horizontal position with this mount.

If you're having problems with the suction cup, be sure to clean the rubber suction cup, as film from the windshield will accumulate and the unit can fall off the window.

Also, if the suction cup is applied near sea level and you drive into the mountains, don't be surprised if the unit falls off.

Before buying this product, I read some earlier reviews stating it was a knock off and not a Garmin product, you don't get the suction cup, you don't get everything pictured, etc. All of those reviews are pure garbage. It is a Garmin product, and you get exactly what is pictured. The only thing you don't get (and you should) is slapped for leaving the original in the rental car.

No sooner had I mounted the new garmin GPS in my car than the rubber suction cup cracked rendering this whole device worthless. It lasted me all of 15 seconds before it failed. I felt totally ripped off. - Vehicle Mounts - Mount - Garmin Accessories - Garmin Nuvi 200'

Camera Batteries

This is an excellent rechargable Lithium-IOn Batery brought to you by Kodak. Yet when purchasing a camera, please check the in-box content. Most-to-all cameras include this battery.Yet as a backup or replacement, this is your battery to use for your Kodak EasyShare Kodak Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery/KLIC 7001

the V-600 camera is excellent but battery life not that good. You will want a backup but this battery has the same short charge. If you want the v-600 as a wideangle lense pocket camera, then you may want to consider a spare charge but it is pricey.

Bought this for my daughter's camera. She is getting ready to give us our 1st Grand Baby! Her camera charges from a USB port and up until now, she has not had to worry about missing shots taking too many pics. But, thinking ahead, we decided that the battery life may not be enough when our little bundle of joy gets here. So we bought some extra batteries, charged them up, and now we are ready for her debut!

I did not have a chance to use the product but I had a chance to deal with the seller, not Amazon.com, its oudside seller, they sent me a broken package, when I return they never contact with me, when I asked they said (politely) that they never receive it back even I sent them the receipt of my shipping, they also said I should check with the Post Office where I sent the package, they might've known that I did not buy the insurance when mailing, therefore I have no chance to track it out. That was my bad experience with them, luckly it was not an expensive purchase but I think that was their expensive of loosing their reputation.

Simple to use. Red light means it is charging, green means it is done. This is day one so I'm not 100% sure all is well. Got the charger in a timely manner and it seems to work. Works on wall plug or 12 volts DC. I think it will solve the problem of occasionally having a dead battery in the camera, especially when you need to take a photo.

This battery is the best brand I've found to work for my camera. It stays charged for multiple uses. I have 2 so when one is charging, I can use the other. Even when the low battery light begins to appear, it is still good for many more shots.

This was a great company to order from. The product I ordered was delivered promptly and I was able to track my package and was notified of any changes. The product was in good condition and was exactly what I needed. I hope to do business with this company in the future.'

Ear Warmers - men, ear warmers

One user that said these could barely be heard, but he/she may have not noticed the volume control. I know that sounds unlikely, but it happened to me. For two days I thought the same thing , until I realized that the volume control was turned down.

These sound great. I am surprised by the quality of the speakers. My ears are very sensitive to the cold, and these do a great job at keeping them warm. They are comfortable, too!

The headphones in these are such poor quality you can barely hear your music. Considering the price of these there's really no excuse for that. Maybe they should partner with Sony or Panasonic to install some decent sound.

These headphone were a gift from my grandmother about 5 years ago when I got a job shoveling snow. I still have mine today, and the sound quality of these headphones are great. You could even take out the cord and just use them as earwarmers too. I am buying them for my brother and best friend this year for Christmas.

So I found these at a local store. And I am super excited for my snowboard trip this weekend. I wanted ear warmers because my head gets too hot with a beanie but my ears freeze without...then I noticed these guys with headphones in them - double awesome! I am wearing them as I type. I am very happy with/surprised by the sound quality. Definitely gets loud enough (not sure what the other review was about). Very comfortable & warm, and they sort of twist up so they would easily fit into a jacket.

The only negative I can see is if you have a big head..."one size fits most" means most except for big heads. My boyfriend has an XL-helmet size head and it won't reach his ears haha, the neck size might have something to do with it too.

I used to put my iphone earbuds on underneath my ear muffs - now I have one less thing to carry with me - great idea.

PROS

Comfortable

Warm

Good Bass

Good overall sounds for an earmuff

very long cord - plenty of length

CON

If you use with an iphone and have the 'bumper' on your phone the adapter is not long enough to insert into the phone with the bumper on.

Sound could be a little louder when streaming radio - ipod music is fine volume level

Actually the sound was pretty good or as expected. Problem is that once you stretch and click it in place, as soon as you move your head it unlocks and they start to slip off your head. Might be ok if you have a small head or let your kids use them.

I purchased these 180s primarily because they don't stretch over the top of your hair (leaving a matted look) and they're small and portable. Once they fold up, you can store these in just about any coat pocket. The hardest decision was whether to go with the model that comes with headphones built in vs the model without headphones. What I would recommend now is to get the 180s that do not have the headphones built-in because 1) the headphones are not entirely flat and thus will prevent the earmuffs from securely wrapping around your ears and 2) the headphone quality is on par with those $1 headphones you can get from the dollar store.

For me, the biggest problem was not being able to have these earmuffs stay on my ears. As soon as I turn my head, these earmuffs will slowly start to slide off, requiring you to constantly readjust them. At first I thought I just had to "break them in" but I've owned these for about a month now and they still slip (mostly due to having the extra headphone bulk within the ear padding).

I now have the same style 180s without the annoying headphones and they wrap very securely without sliding off every 2 minutes.

I gave 1 star because they do sound great but when I put them on, as soon as I move my head, the left one folds up! Whats the point of EAR warmers if they don't stay on? I've tried different adjustments but when I have them on, it just clicks in and gets tighter and that's when the left muff starts to fold in and come off. I wore them on a very cold(-15F) windy day and the wind blasted right thru them. You would think the person who designed these would have made some kind of locking mechanism to keep them from clicking back???

I highly recommend you do NOT buy these earmuffs.

PROs:

+Warm. Very warm.

+Adjustable to fit many head sizes

+Compact - store fairly easily

CONs:

-Very uncomfortable. The headphones inside make the ear sections hard and uncomfortable to wear for even a few minutes.

-Intermittent. The sound in the left ear keeps going out. This is even worse than if it didn't work at all - It is very distracting to hear sound going in and out of one ear.

-Do not hold their shape. The plastic surrounding the headphone part easily bends and warms and will not return to its original shape. Again: very uncomfortable.

-Difficult to set up. It comes with a male-female headphone cord that plugs into the earmuffs and your music device. But plugging the cord into the earmuffs is difficult at best.

-Difficult to stretch. These fit many head sizes, but they really like to return to their default whose-head-can-possibly-be-this-small shape, even while you are still wearing them.

Don't buy these. They sound like a great idea, but they are not. Stick with the regular 180s, and if you really need music, buy a pair of earbuds to put under them. - Men - Ear Muffs - Headphones - Ear Warmers'

Alternate History

Another reader has stated that they found both books in the series `boooring' in comparison to the books for younger reader based in the same world. I disagree with this statement. The 'Nita and Kit' books were mostly children's books and were written for children and young adults, though I agree they are some of the most amazing books I have ever read, and the fact they were written for children does not in any way hamper my love of them. "To Visit the Queen", (or as it is titled in the UK "On Her Majesty's Wizardly Service"), and the earlier book in this series ' The Book of Night with Moon' are most certainly NOT children's books, they being deeper and on a different level than the series for younger readers. I would heartily recommend both the beautifully written books in this series as well as the 'Nita and Kit' books'. None of them are in any way boring, but I would recommend being sure to read `Book of Night with Moon' before this one: for though it is possible to understand and enjoy it without the history of the pervious book, in may leave the reader somewhat confused in several places. To Visit the Queen (Cat Novel)

I just finished reading the book about 10 minutes ago! What a great sequel to "Night With Moon"... it carries forward some of the unresolved feelings and events from the first book, and leaves you feeling a bit easier about them. I do disagree with some of the other reviews that found this book too drawn-out or some of the plot points contrived. The book built up slowly but steadily, not with as much action as "Night With Moon" but with more detective work on the part of Rhiow, her team, and their new allies -- more the literary equivalent of a good suspense movie than an action-hero one. And also unlike some other reviews, I didn't think the battle with the Lone One was "tacked on" or unnecessary. In fact, it was almost inevitable after the cats foil Her plans for Queen Victoria. Think about it -- if you were a selfish, vindictive Power who was absolutely sure you were going to win, and suddenly your scheme was stopped in its tracks, wouldn't you be furious and decide to rid yourself of the "obstacles" once and for all? The book even leaves room for another sequel (maybe the further adventures of Arhu and Siffha'h?) and more bliss for cat lovers. I'll be keeping my figurative whiskers attuned for it!

I'm puzzled by the comment left by the Reader from Kentucky--this book is not about a powerful girl at all, but about cat-wizards whose job it is to guard our world from evil. In this story they travel back to the time of Queen Victoria in order to save her from assassination (and save our own world at the same time). If you love cats, you'll love the way the author presents them here!

In this sequel to The Book Of Night With Moon, feline wizards Rhiow and Urruah, along with new wizard Arhu, journey to London, England to help the Tower Hill gating team with a faulty worldgate that keeps activating at irregular times, throwing unsuspecting humans into other times and demensions. But soon they find that they have more problems than they thought. A technical book has somehow come into the hands of an alternate Victorian England (with some aid from the lone power). Rhiow & company (along with the team of Brit cats) find that they must journey back in time to prevent alternate Q. Victoria's death and recover the tech book, or else that demension will be plunged into nuclear winter; a winter that, due to the ripple effect, could reach into our demension as well. Add to this a possible traitor in the team's midst, the reapearance of Ith (lizard wizard from TBONWM) to help research a desperately needed spell, and Ahru's lost twin sister (if you think they all died in the first book, wait'll you see the nifty explanation) and you have an awesome read. There is even an appearance by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, along with a cute twist to the story about his future. I found this book fun, but it doesn't move with quite the speed of light pace as TBONWM. It is a must to read TBONWM first, as this new book contains several spoilers. This book was slow to get going and seemed to contain some very mundane details. The end is also quite hurried and seems to be quite confusing, although I found some elements of the end quite predictable (but then, I read a lot). It is still a very good book, but I was biased somewhat against it in the first place, in expecting it to be as absolutely awesome as TBONWM. p.s.: Cool Fact: the covers of the books are different and (I think) better in Europe. check out some web pages about the books to see what I mean.

A wonderful follow-up to the fabulous Night With Moon. I wondered at the time how Duane was going to be able to top Night With Moon. She does an excellent job of surpassing herself & the ending of "To Visit The Queen" was surprising. There are sad moments in this one, which make it a slightly more introspective book than the other title, but it has equally rapid plot & strong action plotlines. I loved seeing Arthur Conan Doyle as well. Wouldn't he love to still be starring in our literary achievements? :)

At Grand Central Station, Rhiow and her feline peers (do not tell Rhiow that they are her peers) guard the magical gate that links worlds through time. Because of a malfunction at the London gate, Rhiow and her associates, Urruah and Arhu, travel together to investigate the problem. They quickly learn that a "timeslide" is moving people back and forth through eternity. Someone deliberately caused the time warp. The Lone One wants nuclear weapons introduced into society long before the twentieth century in an attempt to destroy civilization. The cats accompanied by a young child, Arthur Conan Doyle, must stop the critical focal point from being changed or the alternate time continuum will replace the current time stream. The foursome must simply stop the assassinations of the multiple Queen Victorias who populate the endless worlds that make up the current universe. TO VISIT THE QUEEN, the return to that wacky humorous universe of THE BOOK OF NIGHT WITH MOON, is a winner in its own right. The story line contains non-stop action, jocular interactions, and mounting danger as the very fabric of the universe is shredded. The cats seem real and intelligent, not cute. Diane Duane weaves a terrific tale that canine fantasy lovers will cherish. This is a 14 karat gold collar winner for anyone who loves a good book.Harriet Klausner'

Compact Refrigerator - compact refrigerator, stainless

Unit arrived undamaged and worked right out of the box. Door was assembled a bit crooked and overall quality is mediocre but looks good from a distance. Have had it about 5 weeks now and it is doing its job- drinks stay sufficiently cold, good capacity, internal fan helps a lot (main reason I bought it) and is quiet enough in my family room adjacent to my home theater setup. Stopped working once for some unknown reason (maybe got a bit hot as I have it installed in a tight cabinet space- IFU clearly says it is designed to be free-standing) but after unplugging and letting it sit for 30 mins, it started up again and has been fine ever since. I check the external cabinet temp regularly and while it does get quite warm to the touch, it seems to be okay installed as is. A good idea is to keep it out first time it cools down your drinks (it will work quite hard doing this), then when the compressor cycles off (ie- it has reached its set temp), you can push it back in. Overall it seems to be a good deal for the price. Danby DBC120BLS Beverage Center - Stainless Steel - Stainless - Appliance - Beverage Fridge - Compact Refrigerator'

Cookbook Holder

I purchased this product in the expectation that it was rather large (per the picture showing a big book resting on it). Unfortunately it only holds books at a depth of 1.5 inches, which is useless for the programming books, and other textbooks I own. Also the stand doesn't have a lock, it is instead combined with the page holders on the front to create a rather cumbersome mechanism. The lack of any real helpful adjustments also made this purchase a regretful one. If you are going to use books of any real thickness, look elsewhere as I know I just wasted $10. Fellowes Wire Study Stand, Metal, 9.5 x 6 x 5.5 Inches, Silver (10024)

I was looking for a bookstand that would not take up too much space on my desk at work, could easily be folded for storage when not in use, and on which I could read both professional magazines and my Amazon Kindle. This unit does the trick, but has its shortcomings.

I have the following comments:

1.There is no practical way to adjust the angle at which books or magazines are read. The only way to decrease the angle is by moving the back legs of this unit wider apart, but doing so moves the front legs closer together to the point where you cannot place a book on them. The reading angle is a bit more than I would like, but I have gotten used to it.

2. This unit works fine on a small hardcover book (9x6x1), but not as well on a paperback book of the same size. The reason is that a hardcover book stays open more easily by itself, and the front legs on this unit do not keep a small paperback book fully open; you will have to press it with your hands to keep it fully open.

3. There is no problem with a larger paperback book (10x7.5x1.25) since the weight of the book is enough to keep it open.

4. This unit does not really work with any book thicker than 2 inches.

There are other bookstands that have angle adjustments and hold books more easily, particularly larger books. However, those bookstands are more expensive, take up more space on your desk, and do not store as easily as this unit. Therefore you need to decide what your needs are. While this unit has its shortcomings, it is relatively inexpensive and easy to handle.

My primary use is reading my Kindle and magazines. For that this unit is adequate.

I am a law student and was getting sick of leaning over my books all the time. I bought this and it has worked well. My books fit into it and it is portable. Sure if I designed a book holder it would be a bit different, but I didn't and this one serves its purpose.'
